  Speaker 1: down then it was thinking of what I wanted to

  Speaker 1: say this morning. But it kind of uh, it's kind

  Speaker 1: of be something I've lived for a long time, and uh,

  Speaker 1: you know, for a long time, you know, I had
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: a lot of faith in people. You know. It's strange too,
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: because you know, you know, my mother was a Sunday
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: school teacher, so of course I grew up around it,
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: knowing the scriptures and things like that, not not a
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: lot of them, but you know, the ones I retained.

  Speaker 1: But having her as a mother was it was a
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: huge help and understand about faith. But even with that,
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: as I grew up, I began to put a lot
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: of faith in people, and um, you know, I I figured,
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: you know, just like everybody else, you know, man if
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: I could just meet this person, or if I could
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: just sit down with that person, or man if I
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: could just get this person to hear my ideal, or
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: man if just if this person could hear my track,
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: or man if I could just get this in the
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: hands or somebody in the know. I was, like everybody else,
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: I thought that way. You know, I actually thought that
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: if I could get in a certain situation with a
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: certain person, that if a certain person were to meet me,
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: that you know, it could change everything for me. Oh man,

  Speaker 1: Oh how wrong I was? Oh how wrong I was?

  Speaker 1: How long did I spend feeling that way? And how
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: many of you out there possibly have felt that way before?
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: You know, like even in a relationship, this is the
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: person for me, And you know, you just lay claim
• 3:54
  Speaker 1: to that, you know, not necessarily being a fact, but
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: you just lay claim to it. This is the person
• 3:59
  Speaker 1: for me, This is the person that I want to
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: spend the rest of my life with. You know, sometimes,
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: you know, we just lay claim and stuff, and it's
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: not always what's in our best interests or it's not
• 4:08
  Speaker 1: always a fact. It's just what we decided we wanted.
• 4:12
  Speaker 1: And I was guilty of that, just like anybody else.
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: And I spent a lot of years in my life
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: putting faith in people. Man, if I could tell you
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: anything this morning, it's to stop putting your faith in
• 4:25
  Speaker 1: people and put your faith in God where it counts
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: the most. I mean, you can get something out of
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: this one. See, here's a deal about the relationship with God.
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: It's it's the same all the time. He never changes.
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: His word is one absolute. His word doesn't have loopholes
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: in it, none of that. It's this is what it is.
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: He's very clear. Now, you can deviate off your end
• 4:51
  Speaker 1: at a bargain, but it don't stop what he says
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: from being true. But if he asked you to do something,
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: If if God asked you to to be a and way,
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: to do a little something a certain way, and you
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: don't do it that way, then you know you could
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: still possibly get by for a while. But don't you
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: understand that his end of the deal stays the same.
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: And as long as you're not doing it the way
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: you're supposed to, the results are not going to be
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: what you wanted to be. And I did this for
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: years and years and years, and I counted on people,
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: and uh, you know, I got myself in a lot
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: of situations. And I got out one a dire situation
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: that I've been in for a number of years. But
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: he had protected me from years prior to that. I
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: didn't even know what was going on. And then he
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: made it away and made me aware of the problem.
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: And then, man, Lord have mercy, I was in a
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: dismal situation. And then at the end of the year,
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: I was free, free from it all. But it was
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: a decision that I had made that led up to that,
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: and in and in going through that process, I had
• 5:56
  Speaker 1: to learn something. Man. I learned a lot about people. See,
• 6:00
  Speaker 1: if you want to learn about your friends, if you
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: want to learn about your people people around you, Get
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: yourself in some trouble, get yourself in a situation. Oh man,
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: you start looking around, man to feel get real clear.
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: When you're in trouble. The field clear is out when
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: you're in doubt when you don't know what to do
• 6:20
  Speaker 1: when you need help it get real clear on the
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: play and field, then don't it. Ah. But when things
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: is going right, it's time for a party. Were throwing
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: a celebration. We we we were gonna We're gonna do
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: one down here. Oh man, there's plenty of people on
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: the field. But but but but get yourself in a situation.
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: You find out rather quickly that old no, old no,
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: everybody ain't here. And that's when I started learning. And
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I had to start learning this for
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: real until I finally got it to stop putting my
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: faith in people and put all of mine and God
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: where it counts the most. Now is that to say
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: that there are people that you can't trust. No, that's
• 6:59
  Speaker 1: not what I'm saying. I ain't say you can't trust him,
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: but you can't dump your faith in him. I got
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: it all righting on what he say. I got it
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: all righting on what she say. No, no, uh uh no,

  Speaker 1: I hear you saying it. But I'm gonna keep my
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: on this situation because I hear you saying it. But
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: I'm gonna take this faith of mine and instead of
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: putting it in people. I'm gonna put it in God
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: where it counts the most, because his word is absolute.

  Speaker 1: What he says he's gonna do, he gonna do what
• 7:32
  Speaker 1: he says. He's not gonna tolerate. He's not gonna tolerate. Now,
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: you can make it, you can make it tolerable for yourself,
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: but he's not gonna tolerate it. And that's just the
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: end of the line. And so you know, I'm i'm
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: I'm wondering how many people out there find themselves in
• 7:46
  Speaker 1: a situation like me, or maybe you've gotten yourself in
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: a situation because you put your faith in some people
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: and now you wound up in a different type of situation. Now,
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: let me ask you whetting people at see every person
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: that I had put my faith in when I got
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: in trouble, when I got down, I couldn't find them
• 8:04
  Speaker 1: people nowhere, nowhere, nowhere. I didn't see a lifeline. I
• 8:09
  Speaker 1: didn't say, hey man, we're coming to get you. I
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: didn't see none of that, No, sir, no sir. The
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: only one that I found when I was in my
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: deepest trouble, when me and my wife were in our
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: darkest situation, was God is the only one, was the
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: only one who was just right there, right there, all
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: the way through. I mean, comforting us, consoling us, putting us,
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: putting his arms around us, tucking us under his wings,
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: all of that all it was just him. It was
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: just him. And I'm asking any of you to just
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: do the same. If you look around at the people
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: that you put your faith in, and you got in
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: a situation because you had some faith in some people
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: when you got in that situation, where were those people?
• 9:01
  Speaker 1: Where were they? Nowhere to be found? I have not.
• 9:05
  Speaker 1: I've yet to find those people when I get in trouble.
• 9:08
  Speaker 1: And so I'm asking you why would you put your
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: faith there when instead you can put your faith in
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: God where it counts the most, and He's always there. Now,
• 9:18
  Speaker 1: let me explain something to you. Because you have this
• 9:21
  Speaker 1: relationship with God, it does not mean, it does not
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: mean now that it won't get it won't still be
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: a situation, you understand. But what He will do is
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: protect you during that period. He'll cover you during that
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: period that it is a situation. He will give you
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: the strength to overcome the situation when it turns into
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: a situation. Then when he when he cracks it open
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: for you and the sun is bright and shining. What
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: he don't want you to do is when he gets
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: sunny again, to forget about him, who was there when
• 9:56
  Speaker 1: it was dark for you. See, I used to do
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: that too, you know. I was Oh, man, I did it.

  Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, I did it. But I'm
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: telling you man, when I learned a very serious lesson,

  Speaker 1: and I watched some people I thought were friends of
• 10:12
  Speaker 1: mine just sort of casually remove themselves from the situation.

  Speaker 1: Then I said, okay. Me and Margie looked around. We
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: said okay, it's just me, you and God, and we
• 10:24
  Speaker 1: started conducting ourselves accordingly. So when it's sunny for us,
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: we remember God. We stay prayerful, we keep talking to him.
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: We thank him for the sunshine, we thank him for
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: the dark days that he allowed us to do, who
• 10:39
  Speaker 1: allowed us to survive it and turn it into sunny days.
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: And we talked to him constantly to protect us of
• 10:45
  Speaker 1: our future enemies. And that's what the deal is. So
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: if I was everybody, I would stop putting your faith
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: in people and put your trust in God where it
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: really does count the most, It really really does. You're
• 10:56

  Speaker 1: all that. So how did it keep you going? How

  Speaker 1: did it keep you motivated? Why didn't you give up? Well?

  Speaker 1: I think that word no is ammunition. You know, the

  Speaker 1: more you hear the word no, the more angry you

  Speaker 1: ultimately get because you eventually wanted to stop. So for me,

  Speaker 1: you know, after years and years of hearing it, it

  Speaker 1: was it was wanting to hear yes one time. It
• 18:39
  Speaker 1: was I'm not going to stop, so I get yes
• 18:41
  Speaker 1: one time. And then after hearing it that one time,

  Speaker 1: I said, Yo, this is easy to get addicted to.

  Speaker 1: Let me see if I can get it the second
• 18:47
  Speaker 1: time and the third time, and then those nose eventually
• 18:50
  Speaker 1: became yeses. And then the will and want for the

  Speaker 1: yes is to never end is with motivated and pushing

  Speaker 1: me just to keep going. I think you know what

  Speaker 1: I just told him is really ultimately what it's about.

  Speaker 1: It's about becoming the best possible version of who you are.

  Speaker 1: At the end of the day, there is no competition.

  Speaker 1: don't compete against just ourselves. We're our own competition. We're

  Speaker 1: trying to figure out our own pattern. We're trying to

  Speaker 1: open up doors that can eventually open to other doors

  Speaker 1: so other people can say, oh my god, look at
• 19:21
  Speaker 1: the road and they took how can I do the

  Speaker 1: same thing. You You manufacture what's best for you, and

  Speaker 1: you create things that ultimately are best for you. And

  Speaker 1: that's what I had to figure out. That people think

  Speaker 1: you are overnight success, have no idea how long you've
• 19:35
  Speaker 1: been in the game. Years old. I've been drinking this team.

  Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys have been Hong Kong,
• 19:42
  Speaker 1: but they sell this t is a million dollars a
• 19:44
  Speaker 1: cap uh. And what it does is no, no, no, no,

  Speaker 1: you can't drink the whole cup. I've been drinking the

  Speaker 1: same cup of teeth in the last five years. It's

  Speaker 1: two hours. It's fun because you by yourself, you in

  Speaker 1: your own world, and you literally you go crazy a
• 1:07:14
  Speaker 1: little bit because you're just in there doing a bunch
• 1:07:16
  Speaker 1: of paces and I'm trying to kid and they show
• 1:07:22
  Speaker 1: you video or yourself after you're like, yeah, you ain't
• 1:07:25
  Speaker 1: gonna show there's nobody else right, They're getting released online.

  Speaker 1: But that's how they developed the character. You know, they

  Speaker 1: start to use a lot of your mannerisms and your

  Speaker 1: facial expressions and put them into the animated character that's

  Speaker 1: being developed. So overall the process is amazing. Man, it's uh,

  Speaker 1: it's long, but it's worth it when you see the

  Speaker 1: struggle that that motivated me to stay true to their

  Speaker 1: Within every failure, like I said, you can find some

  Speaker 1: positivity in it to learn from and that that that

  Speaker 1: information to get you past the next situation in life.

  Speaker 1: So it's just about each chapter becoming a lesson and

  Speaker 1: that less sen helping me through the next chapter. And

  Speaker 1: was just sitting around waiting for phone calls about auditions.

  Speaker 1: It was like a year where I'm literally just sitting

  Speaker 1: waiting for somebody to say, Hey, we think we want
• 1:09:31
  Speaker 1: you to come in and audition. And it was like
• 1:09:33
  Speaker 1: five calls for the year where I went on auditions
• 1:09:35
  Speaker 1: and I was like, this isn't what I do. This
• 1:09:37
  Speaker 1: isn't helping me get better, this isn't helping me do anything.
• 1:09:40
  Speaker 1: I said, I'm gonna pause that and I'm gonna focus
• 1:09:42
  Speaker 1: on stand up. And that's when I went and I
• 1:09:45
  Speaker 1: grinded the role for four years of nine stop travel,
• 1:09:50
  Speaker 1: nine stop. That's when I hit those comedy clubs and
• 1:09:52
  Speaker 1: I just kept doing and I pushed the act inside
• 1:09:55
  Speaker 1: all the way to the right, and I said, that's
• 1:09:56
  Speaker 1: gonna come when this gets big enough to draw the
• 1:09:59
  Speaker 1: attention that I'm supple. So it was me checking myself
• 1:10:02
  Speaker 1: and saying, what am I and what am I supposed
• 1:10:04
  Speaker 1: to be doing. I'm a stand up comedian. I'm not
• 1:10:06
  Speaker 1: an actor first. That comes after I've reached a certain
• 1:10:09
  Speaker 1: level within stand up comedy. So let me stay true

  Speaker 1: to this dream over here and not trying to do
• 1:10:14
  Speaker 1: everything he wants conquer something. You get real good at this,
