- 2:06Speaker 1: come on dig me now one it only Steve Harvey
- 2:09Speaker 1: got a radio show. I was talking with my wife
- 2:13Speaker 1: and she said something her father always used to tell her.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Uh Pop Bridges used to tell her all the time,
- 2:19Speaker 1: just because you can do something don't mean you should
- 2:22Speaker 1: do it. You know, I can't tell you how many
- 2:25Speaker 1: times I've had to learn that in my life. You know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: just because you can do something does not necessarily mean
- 2:32Speaker 1: you should do it. You know, I could tell people
- 2:36Speaker 1: off oftentimes, but it don't mean I should do it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You know. I could go here and set the record
- 2:43Speaker 1: straight a lot of times, but it don't mean I
- 2:46Speaker 1: should do it. Well. I've learned a lot in that
- 2:49Speaker 1: lesson folks, and because I have a relationship with my creator.
- 2:56Speaker 1: What it's done is it's allowed me are to learn
- 3:01Speaker 1: even more how to stay still on a lot of
- 3:04Speaker 1: issues that's troubling me. It's taught me over the years.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I've learned it the hard way. I do want you
- 3:10Speaker 1: to understand that that sometimes it's better to be still.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Sometimes it's better to just let God handle a situation.
- 3:16Speaker 1: That's hard to say, man, And I know it's hard
- 3:20Speaker 1: to say because we think as people. But if I
- 3:23Speaker 1: do this, I would feel better. If I do this,
- 3:27Speaker 1: they would know it's coming from me. If I do this,
- 3:31Speaker 1: now there feel how I feel. See. But that's not
- 3:34Speaker 1: always the best way though, I found in my life. See,
- 3:37Speaker 1: sometimes you gotta like old people used to say, you
- 3:40Speaker 1: gotta let go and let God. Sometimes you gotta do that.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something, man, I learned a lot
- 3:45Speaker 1: from my mother being a Sunday school teacher. But you know,
- 3:48Speaker 1: at the same time, when she was when I was young,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I thought she was just an old, old person just
- 3:52Speaker 1: talking to me. I didn't get it. You know, how
- 3:53Speaker 1: you talk to You know how your parents used to
- 3:55Speaker 1: talk to you and you didn't get it, and they
- 3:58Speaker 1: used to always say, well wait till you have your
- 3:59Speaker 1: own kids. You would get it then, and showing off
- 4:02Speaker 1: you got it then, Well, I'm the same way. I'm
- 4:04Speaker 1: no different you know. I don't have no different life
- 4:06Speaker 1: than you. You know I have no different upbringing in you.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I don't have no different different ways that I can
- 4:11Speaker 1: live and you can't. You know that I gotta live
- 4:14Speaker 1: by the same laws of the land that you gotta
- 4:16Speaker 1: live by. I gotta obey the principles of success. If
- 4:19Speaker 1: I want to be successful, I got a bam and
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know, and if I want to go to heaven,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I go. I gotta do what God tell me to
- 4:24Speaker 1: do as many times as I can. Now, you ain't
- 4:27Speaker 1: gonna get it all right, but he understand that, and
- 4:30Speaker 1: I just get on with the best I can. But
- 4:32Speaker 1: so many times, man, we get stuck. We get stuck
- 4:36Speaker 1: right there man, worrying about you know how how it's
- 4:40Speaker 1: gonna come across and and what you know, I'm kind
- 4:44Speaker 1: of going around here because I'm trying to find a
- 4:47Speaker 1: way to tell you this that that that you won't
- 4:50Speaker 1: get twisted hit the bottom line. You gotta let go
- 4:53Speaker 1: and let God. You have to allow him to do
- 4:57Speaker 1: it his way. See my way. I myself to a
- 5:00Speaker 1: certain point, but to go further, I had to let
- 5:03Speaker 1: God have it. You know. I found out I wasn't
- 5:06Speaker 1: all that good a driver. I found out I wouldn't
- 5:09Speaker 1: all that good of all explore with a map. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: found out my comper skills was oftentimes a little bit off.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I found out that my map reading skills wasn't what
- 5:20Speaker 1: I thought it was. So I had to let go.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I had to let God. And you gotta understand that
- 5:25Speaker 1: God works in mysterious ways, you know. And right how
- 5:28Speaker 1: often had I thought it was over for me? But
- 5:32Speaker 1: what God was doing was he was teaching me a lesson.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He was showing me something that I needed to know.
- 5:38Speaker 1: He was allowing me to experience some things. But he
- 5:40Speaker 1: didn't let me go under. You know how they say,
- 5:43Speaker 1: God and never put more on you than you can bail.
- 5:45Speaker 1: He won't let you go under. And but he did
- 5:48Speaker 1: not say. You know, it's like the scripture that Bishop
- 5:51Speaker 1: Olmer taught me when I was going through that traumatic
- 5:53Speaker 1: thing on the internet. Man, it was really really mad
- 5:56Speaker 1: trying to destroy what I had worked for and my family,
- 5:59Speaker 1: and it is new life to God had presented me.
- 6:01Speaker 1: And the devil is busy. Devil don't like to see
- 6:03Speaker 1: you happy. So here he comes. He puts you under attack,
- 6:06Speaker 1: and here comes internet and everything. And my kids are suffering.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But you know, here here comes God. Though, see, God
- 6:12Speaker 1: don't put more on you than than you can. Bad
- 6:15Speaker 1: Bishop almost sent me a scripture. He sent me Isaiah
- 6:19Speaker 1: forty three one and two. And then that scripture it
- 6:22Speaker 1: says to the effect that you can walk through the
- 6:26Speaker 1: water the rivers, and the water won't overcome you. But
- 6:30Speaker 1: then it said you can walk through the fire and
- 6:32Speaker 1: you will not get burned, nor will kindling set upon
- 6:37Speaker 1: your clothes. I learned something very valuable that day. See
- 6:41Speaker 1: God sent me through something, but he was showing me
- 6:44Speaker 1: something too. Now he didn't do it. See, God didn't
- 6:48Speaker 1: bring that calamity into my life, because in Isaiah fifty
- 6:52Speaker 1: four seventeen it says clearly that if anyone comes against you,
- 6:56Speaker 1: it will not be my doing. But he now, this
- 6:59Speaker 1: is what promised you when people come for you, though, see,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and this is what I learned. That's why I have
- 7:04Speaker 1: no fear of the people coming anymore, see, because I
- 7:07Speaker 1: learned that. But God had to send me through a
- 7:09Speaker 1: traumatic experience in order for me to learn that. See,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you can't have a testimony without a test you know, understand.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You can't learn nothing without a lesson. See. So what
- 7:20Speaker 1: he did was he allowed that internet thing comes cross
- 7:22Speaker 1: into my life. But he taught me something. And Isaiah
- 7:25Speaker 1: forty three one and two was and you can walk
- 7:28Speaker 1: through the fire and not get burned, normal kindling set
- 7:31Speaker 1: upon your clothing. So what that said to me was,
- 7:33Speaker 1: even though you're trying to do me and it's fire
- 7:36Speaker 1: all around me, I won't burn. But when it's over,
- 7:40Speaker 1: kindling won't set upon your clothing. What that showed me
- 7:43Speaker 1: was and what it taught me was not only would
- 7:46Speaker 1: I walk through the fire and not get burned, but
- 7:48Speaker 1: there would be no signs that I was ever in
- 7:51Speaker 1: the fire. There's no signs of it. But now hold
- 7:54Speaker 1: up though, now he go to part though that I
- 7:56Speaker 1: had to learn even though you can walk through the fire, y'all,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and even though you're being flames and scorching all around you,
- 8:03Speaker 1: if you trust him, he ain't gonna let you burn.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But now hear what he did not say though he
- 8:07Speaker 1: did not say that it was not going to be
- 8:11Speaker 1: uncomfortably hot, wickedly hot in there. He didn't say that.
- 8:17Speaker 1: He just said you won't burn. And when it's over,
- 8:20Speaker 1: it won't be no killing on your cluse. It won't
- 8:22Speaker 1: be no signs that you was in the fire. See
- 8:24Speaker 1: what happened to me was after they tried to destroy me.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Let me show you what God did from it. Not
- 8:29Speaker 1: only did I not not only did they not accomplish
- 8:31Speaker 1: what they set out to do, but when they was
- 8:33Speaker 1: through with me though, when they was through throwing the
- 8:36Speaker 1: gas and throwing the fine, throwing their hate and writing
- 8:40Speaker 1: it in lyne and creating all these names for themselves
- 8:44Speaker 1: so it could look like more people was hating. When
- 8:45Speaker 1: they got through with all that, Look at me, man,
- 8:50Speaker 1: Look what he did to me. Look what he did
- 8:53Speaker 1: from me. Because he taught me something that day. And
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'm sharing it with you because God will do the
- 8:58Speaker 1: same thing for you. But you gotta trust him though.
- 9:01Speaker 1: You got to get in there and you got to
- 9:02Speaker 1: let him do it. You gotta let him handle it.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So just like Pop Bridges talk my wife, Margie, just
- 9:08Speaker 1: because you can do something, don't mean you'll to do something. Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you could go down there and straight in the mouth,
- 9:12Speaker 1: But should you though? Yeah, you can go down there
- 9:15Speaker 1: and tell them all. Yeah, you can go down and
- 9:16Speaker 1: stand up and make sure they know it's your voice
- 9:19Speaker 1: that they're here, and you can get in their face
- 9:21Speaker 1: and make a scene. But should you though, or should
- 9:24Speaker 1: you let go and let God see? So before we
- 9:29Speaker 1: run all out in the streets and somebody that that
- 9:33Speaker 1: that that were forming these groups and somebody go out
- 9:35Speaker 1: there and do something crazy, let's hold tight. Now. I'm
- 9:38Speaker 1: not saying don't go out there, but you gotta watch
- 9:40Speaker 1: who you go out there with, because somebody crazy you
- 9:43Speaker 1: could be. You can go down there with peace in
- 9:45Speaker 1: your heart. Somebody this side, I'm gonna throw a brick
- 9:47Speaker 1: through here and bust a wonder. Hold up, partner, hold
- 9:49Speaker 1: up there, and what we're down here doing. So. See, sometimes, man,
- 9:52Speaker 1: you gotta let go, and you gotta let God. You
- 9:54Speaker 1: gotta let God have a situation sometimes and you get
- 9:57Speaker 1: it in and do the things that he tells you
- 9:58Speaker 1: to do. See Bishop woman and taught me a lot.
- 10:01Speaker 1: He had another book out and he said, you know,
- 10:04Speaker 1: knowing God's voice or something like that. I'm not sure
- 10:06Speaker 1: the title, But I never really knew the definition of
- 10:09Speaker 1: how do you know as God's voice talking to you? Well,
- 10:13Speaker 1: he clearly made a statement. God's voice has no sin
- 10:17Speaker 1: in it. See anything you're talking about. Whenever you're talking about,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna go, I'm gonna show him. I'm gonna get
- 10:23Speaker 1: him back. I'm gonna write a letter and I'm gonna
- 10:25Speaker 1: tell him down at his job. If it's sin in it,
- 10:28Speaker 1: God ain't in it. See thats you now, God's voice
- 10:32Speaker 1: has no sin in it. So when you say God
- 10:35Speaker 1: told me, be careful, because God ain't never told you
- 10:40Speaker 1: to go do nothing wrong, that ain't what he told you.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And I learned that too. It's a lot, So I'm
- 10:45Speaker 1: just sharing the day. I hope it helps somebody today
- 10:48Speaker 1: get through a difficult time because the show has helped me.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And I'm just talking to myself now because i got
- 10:53Speaker 1: another one I'm looking at. I'm dealing with it though.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm all good. Please know you're listening. Ladies and gentlemen, boys, girls, adults,
- 11:07Speaker 1: old people gather around. Today is the day that the

- 14:04Speaker 1: That's all I wanted. I don't want nothing. No, don't

- 14:51Speaker 1: gonna learn more about Steve I mean, we know a
- 14:53Speaker 1: lot about him, but he's celebrating his sixty one birthday today.
- 14:59Speaker 1: A man to that because you know the alternative, right,
- 15:02Speaker 1: thank you, man. I'm pretty flying forna, you know, still crazy,
- 15:10Speaker 1: funny all of that. But so all right, so the
- 15:15Speaker 1: crew wants to interview you today. All right, First of all,
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna's just say, lose the attitude because we're gonna
- 15:21Speaker 1: ask you just answer. We're going there. Yeah, so this
- 15:26Speaker 1: is yes you alright, alright, so here you can still
- 15:30Speaker 1: get cussed out, all right. You know his nerves are
- 15:35Speaker 1: bad and oh my god, tight right, yes, all right,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'll kick it off Steve, and you breathe loud around him.
- 15:45Speaker 1: He's got some problems with that. Alright, Steve, what was
- 15:49Speaker 1: your first if you had one, what was your first?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Oh I'm getting old? What was your first? I'm getting old? Moments?
- 15:58Speaker 1: I play in a game of basketball in Dallas after
- 16:04Speaker 1: the radio show with Gary Sanders, and I was just
- 16:10Speaker 1: I was just standing there, man, and a ball came
- 16:13Speaker 1: off for the rebound, and I just got the rebound.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Wasn't nobody around me? Told meniscus in my knee shoulder
- 16:21Speaker 1: just right down for no I mean, dog, I wasn't
- 16:24Speaker 1: was nobody trying to get the rebound butt me what?
- 16:28Speaker 1: There was nobody around. I wasn't checking nobody. I wasn't
- 16:31Speaker 1: trying to shake nobody and none of that. It just
- 16:38Speaker 1: told my meniscus and that's when I went, Okay, it's
- 16:43Speaker 1: probably it for mesca because it sounds like a wine.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It really does fibular in your thigh, in the middle
- 16:57Speaker 1: of you when you when you're ripping. You know right away, hug,
- 17:00Speaker 1: you know exactly what it is. Huh, all right, Tommy,
- 17:04Speaker 1: Tommy ahead, what is the most expensive thing you have
- 17:09Speaker 1: ever held in your hands? Most expensive that you've ever
- 17:18Speaker 1: held it? Yeah, because you can't hold a house store
- 17:20Speaker 1: plain in your hand. Okay, held in my hand and
- 17:22Speaker 1: ring as then Marjorie's floding ring. Yeah. Are your nerves
- 17:30Speaker 1: more ginger down than they weren't back in the day. No,
- 17:34Speaker 1: They've always been the same. They consistent. I've been I
- 17:39Speaker 1: was voted most difficult in high school. I just didn't
- 17:42Speaker 1: have a lot that could get on my nerves back then.
- 17:44Speaker 1: But the more I got the motives out on it,
- 17:47Speaker 1: So I've been this way really my whole life. I
- 17:50Speaker 1: really have not changed. No, No, I have been fed
- 17:54Speaker 1: up with people the majority of I was voted most
- 17:57Speaker 1: difficult in high school six Yeah, I was just I
- 18:01Speaker 1: was still with them. It's more things to get on
- 18:04Speaker 1: my nerves. The people been on my nerves since I
- 18:08Speaker 1: got more things that you're involved in. Yeah, so it's
- 18:11Speaker 1: a lot more opportunity. But I'm the same person back
- 18:15Speaker 1: when I had but just four things that got on
- 18:18Speaker 1: my nerves. S Well, I mean, I mean he might
- 18:24Speaker 1: have a point more money. I mean, you know he
- 18:26Speaker 1: keeps accumulating. So you know, money does not change people.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It just allows you to be more of who you
- 18:33Speaker 1: really are. What is here? So let's deal with you
- 18:37Speaker 1: always say that, so it must be true nerves? All right,
- 18:41Speaker 1: I got a question. What is the dumbest thing you've
- 18:45Speaker 1: ever heard a grown person say? Let me think, dude,
- 18:56Speaker 1: want to stood up at the desk shuance come that
- 19:01Speaker 1: work for and said, I ain't got to come in
- 19:03Speaker 1: here no more. He said, what what? I ain't got
- 19:08Speaker 1: to come in here no more? Why not? What? Dog,
- 19:11Speaker 1: you ain't got to come in here? Yeah? He made that.
- 19:17Speaker 1: That was his decision that day. I don't need this
- 19:23Speaker 1: is your only sauce of income. So what you don't
- 19:27Speaker 1: need you might not need to trash you taking off
- 19:30Speaker 1: these people, but you do need to check that come
- 19:33Speaker 1: with your tray. So you can't love that. I don't
- 19:36Speaker 1: need this no more into one sentence because they're gonna
- 19:38Speaker 1: feck a series of other things a month later. Yeah,
- 19:43Speaker 1: can let you man and man, let me hold a
- 19:46Speaker 1: hundred dollars. You had a job. You had a job.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I was there with me, announced Smith. All right, U.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So what is the song, no matter what it is,
- 20:02Speaker 1: that puts you in a good mood? Winning fire. That's
- 20:05Speaker 1: the way of the world. Earth winning fire, can't hide love,
- 20:09Speaker 1: earth winning fire loves holidays the Whole Morning After by
- 20:15Speaker 1: Frankie Beverly. We played one of those on the jam
- 20:21Speaker 1: that just do it for me, Michael Jackson, remember the
- 20:25Speaker 1: time saying something time you remember the time when we leave?
- 20:36Speaker 1: All right? Now? That was that's it. That was cut
- 20:43Speaker 1: and the video, Yeah, I love the video too. Here
- 20:46Speaker 1: it is. What's the stupidest thing you ever spent money on?
- 20:52Speaker 1: I used to wear vests to church and I bought
- 20:56Speaker 1: I wanted that chain on the button and watching watch.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So I bought a pocket watch for seventeen dollars. Now,
- 21:05Speaker 1: listen to me, that was a lot of money from
- 21:08Speaker 1: me back then. And the first time I clicked the
- 21:13Speaker 1: button for the lead to pop open, the lead came all.
- 21:19Speaker 1: So now my, my, my pocket watch is just a
- 21:22Speaker 1: stop watch on the chain. Here. I set the watch
- 21:29Speaker 1: and the stem broke. So now I got a pocket
- 21:33Speaker 1: watch that ain't got a lead on it or a steam,
- 21:38Speaker 1: so I could never set the time. And all my
- 21:41Speaker 1: partners at the church, what time is it coming up
- 21:48Speaker 1: right after this? And if you tell me in the
- 21:50Speaker 1: frank phone called run that prank back, we'll be back
- 21:52Speaker 1: at after you're listening to the Steve Show. Coming up
- 21:57Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, Miss Anna's gonna be
- 22:00Speaker 1: here to update us with today's national news. But right now, uh,
- 22:04Speaker 1: we're gonna do something a little different. We're going to
- 22:06Speaker 1: continue asking Steve these questions, interviewing him on his birthday
- 22:11Speaker 1: because if you can't tell he actually likes this by
- 22:16Speaker 1: his nerves, you won't be able to tell that. But
- 22:18Speaker 1: he likes this. But Duke, we gotta get part two.
- 22:20Speaker 1: He told us the stupidest thing was the pocket was
- 22:22Speaker 1: to watch before he got some money. Now, after you
- 22:25Speaker 1: got some money, what's the stupidest that wasn't breathing? That
- 22:34Speaker 1: was a hin? What? Oh, what's the stupidest thing out
- 22:47Speaker 1: now that you have some money, a lot of it,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I think. For I understood private jet travel. Oh, paid
- 23:01Speaker 1: for a jet without understanding how to price them. I
- 23:07Speaker 1: tried to show off to my girl, right, So I just,
- 23:13Speaker 1: dude said I got a plane available from New York
- 23:16Speaker 1: to l A and back, and I went, cool, yeah,
- 23:20Speaker 1: let me have it. And I did not confirm the contractor,
- 23:24Speaker 1: so my assistant just signed off on it and paid
- 23:27Speaker 1: for with my American Express. God, wait, hold up, by plane.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I just I charted a flight. I chart, I said,
- 23:41Speaker 1: before I knew anything about private air traffic. I charted
- 23:44Speaker 1: a plane from New York to l A and back
- 23:47Speaker 1: to New York. And you know, just with the guys
- 23:50Speaker 1: we are talking. Dude, we're at this meeting, and he said,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I was a jet available, get you right there. I said, yeah,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'll take it, and I gave him my assistance number,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and she paid for with the credit car, but without
- 24:01Speaker 1: telling me how much it was. And the dude completely
- 24:06Speaker 1: ripped me off. She was just following your instructions. Yeah,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I know, I know. I know, but normally to put
- 24:14Speaker 1: something on the credit card. She called me and confirmed first,
- 24:18Speaker 1: but she thought since I was shiping out, Yeah yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 1: my Boston told me I just paid for it put
- 24:27Speaker 1: it on the car. Yeah. Man, I tried to say,
- 24:32Speaker 1: what kind of ignorant money? He got? That? Right there? Yeah?
- 24:38Speaker 1: How much was that? Right there? How much was that?
- 24:40Speaker 1: I paid a hundred seven thousand round trip round trip?
- 24:47Speaker 1: And how much shouldn't have cast? About sixty four? Oh man? Yeah? Yeah,
- 24:55Speaker 1: y'all could have been on sideware for two and board
- 25:00Speaker 1: groupe that faced each other. I'm back in the day
- 25:08Speaker 1: that was cool. The lion that ain't comfortable. I'm looking
- 25:13Speaker 1: at somebody I don't even know, right, it ain't the
- 25:16Speaker 1: way to look all right? My question, what is the movie?
- 25:23Speaker 1: And I probably know this because I know I've heard
- 25:25Speaker 1: you say it over and over? What is the movie?
- 25:27Speaker 1: You can watch over and over? Had Man braved the
- 25:36Speaker 1: best thing? For you? What's your best scene? It's several,
- 25:42Speaker 1: but when he rode into camp with his hands behind
- 25:44Speaker 1: his back on that hole after they had killed this girl, yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 1: oh yeah, he rolled in, hands behind my back. But
- 25:51Speaker 1: I'm coming here, I'm killing everybody what's what's the phrase?
- 25:54Speaker 1: He always shouts out, Come on that boy, you know
- 26:04Speaker 1: you know My best scene when the king comes back
- 26:08Speaker 1: to try to secure country for his son and he
- 26:13Speaker 1: found out that sacked York and the sun has a
- 26:16Speaker 1: boyfriend he throw and he pitched a boyfriend up. He said,
- 26:22Speaker 1: the kid who is this who speaks to me? Is
- 26:26Speaker 1: if I needed his opinion. He grabbed the board and
- 26:31Speaker 1: told those boys, when you got to see the guards,
- 26:36Speaker 1: go win what happened? And they look up and they
- 26:38Speaker 1: see the king. Okay, it's all good? Ever sne I
- 26:50Speaker 1: love that, all right, Steve, here's one What is the
- 26:56Speaker 1: foolproof way, the foolproof way you have of winning the argument?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Besides using facts, no facts, just you know this wins
- 27:05Speaker 1: them every time, hands down. My daddy always told me
- 27:11Speaker 1: this right here. If you tell somebody the truth and
- 27:15Speaker 1: they don't believe you, that ain't your fault. And that's
- 27:19Speaker 1: how I get the argument. I just tell people. I said, look, man,
- 27:24Speaker 1: I'm telling you the truth now. If you don't believe it,
- 27:27Speaker 1: what happened after this, this ain't none of my fault.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I feel how you want to feel? Case close. That
- 27:34Speaker 1: sounds pretty convincing. To a person. Yeah, say that and
- 27:38Speaker 1: it wins. Okay, Yeah, that's what I do. I shut
- 27:41Speaker 1: it down. That's how I get it out, because it
- 27:44Speaker 1: sounds really convincing to say that. Again. Hey look man,
- 27:50Speaker 1: I'm my father always said, if you tell somebody the
- 27:52Speaker 1: truth and they don't believe you, that ain't your fault.
- 27:56Speaker 1: So what I when I'm tired arg and I say,
- 27:58Speaker 1: look here, man, I'll tell you what. Listen to this.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I just told you the truth. You don't believe me,
- 28:04Speaker 1: that's cool. I ain't got nothing to do what happened.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I ain't got nothing to do with what happened after this.
- 28:09Speaker 1: But I hadn't told you and then I walk off.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That's an incredible statement to make to a person because
- 28:14Speaker 1: they go, okay, he sounds pretty show. Okay, alright, Yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 1: whether it's the truth or not, you say that, it's
- 28:26Speaker 1: it's just like you leave a person stunned. Okay. What
- 28:31Speaker 1: we're doing is interviewing Steve Harvey on his birthday. He
- 28:35Speaker 1: turned sixty one years old today, So we're just finding

- 29:30Speaker 1: they had to come to the stands the one asking

- 43:57Speaker 1: could just open up an app and had words like
- 44:00Speaker 1: the cop your what is that? Yeah, several, there's a
- 44:07Speaker 1: lot of them. Man, Yeah, give me more. J Jake
- 44:13Speaker 1: got all. He always got one of two ready, dubious.
- 44:20Speaker 1: We're talking about that weed on this show. A man
- 44:28Speaker 1: that birthday boys, I always man love you man An.
- 44:32Speaker 1: We gotta go hit him this year. All right, let's
- 44:35Speaker 1: do it for show. You know, I like when we
- 44:37Speaker 1: put our trips together, they'll be fun. We can't go
- 44:40Speaker 1: back to where we were last time. That for damn.
- 44:42Speaker 1: It was pre election. He was one of the boys.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I don't know what he'd been drinking. It's like a
- 44:54Speaker 1: friend that it told on you in court. The way
- 44:56Speaker 1: I feel about doing right now. Yeah, then they called
- 45:00Speaker 1: us learning to say happy birthday, Steve lorda girl, what's
- 45:08Speaker 1: up taking care of my man? I know? Ship yeah man,
- 45:12Speaker 1: solid gave the kids to so them about to graduate
- 45:17Speaker 1: and the daughter and ship yeah yeah, he went. He
- 45:22Speaker 1: went on stage on the seventeenth birthday with me and
- 45:24Speaker 1: was I was performed. He opened for me. So he
- 45:27Speaker 1: wrote a kite little five minutes, about a minute and
- 45:30Speaker 1: a half in shook. He wrote it, had wrote that,
- 45:34Speaker 1: wrote some good stuff, but you know that real reality
- 45:37Speaker 1: of build on that stage hit him. The stage called
- 45:39Speaker 1: him on guard boy. He was up there like, oh man,
- 45:43Speaker 1: oh man. Because I start yelling out jokes like a
- 45:46Speaker 1: soccer dad. Do the one with them on the side.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I'll pull to the side like a soccer dad. Do
- 45:55Speaker 1: the push, not card trumpet. I'm shouldn't you hear him?
- 46:03Speaker 1: Because of me? Amen, y'all you enjoyed this day, man,
- 46:07Speaker 1: and let's hollow soul. It's got love for you bad ladies.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Jimmer sat in the tail. Ye yes, I right, nephew,
- 46:18Speaker 1: come on with the prank for it today, this his birthday.
- 46:21Speaker 1: I pranked him. I tell it, yeah, it's a goal.
- 46:24Speaker 1: If you ain't heard here go I pranked my uncle.
- 46:27Speaker 1: So what did you saying I'm saying to you right now?
- 46:30Speaker 1: Did he turning on everybody? He chick, you ain't got
- 46:33Speaker 1: nothing to do with me. Man, That ain't my book.
- 46:34Speaker 1: That's his damn book. Put him on the phone there
- 46:36Speaker 1: I can tell him. I don't always stand to Steve.
- 46:39Speaker 1: He ain't writing about you. Ain't he a tall on me?
- 46:43Speaker 1: You know? Told on my boys. He's telling on everybody. Man,
- 46:47Speaker 1: This book ain't got nothing to do with you. Man.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Don't nobody's book, dude got something to do with me.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Because everything to Steve run if he was growing up
- 46:54Speaker 1: from the hood telling on everybody. And I'm tired of this.
- 46:57Speaker 1: He ought to go somewhere and sit down. Dog. No,
- 47:00Speaker 1: you gotta be dick right with your girl. If he's
- 47:02Speaker 1: stolen my girl, he ain't got no business coming in
- 47:05Speaker 1: my house in my car telling every damn thing. So hello,
- 47:11Speaker 1: who who who is this? What is it? Hold on? Man?
- 47:14Speaker 1: This Steve Harvey? Who is this? This is your tea? Man?
- 47:17Speaker 1: Listen here, man, Okay, I was gonna fall with your
- 47:19Speaker 1: neck you and I'm just saying this to you. Steve. Okay,
- 47:21Speaker 1: hold up till you dude. I see you on the
- 47:23Speaker 1: front of essence. I see you on the on the
- 47:25Speaker 1: family field, on your radio show, So why don't you
- 47:28Speaker 1: go somewhere and sit out and quit telling on everybody?
- 47:31Speaker 1: I mean it, on everything, Steve. I'm riding the car
- 47:34Speaker 1: with my family. I gotta turn my radio off because
- 47:37Speaker 1: you're telling game. We grow sticking together. If I'm running
- 47:40Speaker 1: the middle game and make my hands meet or whatever
- 47:43Speaker 1: it is, that's my goodness. You ain't gonna hold on
- 47:47Speaker 1: hold on old women. First of all, I don't know
- 47:49Speaker 1: who you are. I know you're done, but I know
- 47:51Speaker 1: who you are, and we listened to the show. First
- 47:55Speaker 1: thing you're gonna do, though, back up a little bit
- 47:57Speaker 1: dull because you're talking to me plays and see nobody
- 48:00Speaker 1: scared of you because you got money on what if this?
- 48:02Speaker 1: Ain't got nothing doing no money and I ain't gonna
- 48:05Speaker 1: be too many. But just enjoy your life. You find
- 48:10Speaker 1: the perfect why now when you you found the perfect person,
- 48:13Speaker 1: the perfect relationship? Okay, that's good, God blemming, don't put
- 48:17Speaker 1: God in this. Leave God out of this, because you
- 48:20Speaker 1: ain't calling from the God. Ain't gonna s people killed
- 48:23Speaker 1: me with that part right there. God bless you don't
- 48:25Speaker 1: know God you don't want God bless me because you're
- 48:27Speaker 1: talking too crazy to me. That's for starters right there.
- 48:31Speaker 1: But since you're talking crazy to me, let me turn
- 48:34Speaker 1: you onto something you want that running game. That's your problem.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Run your game. You can't get mad at me because
- 48:40Speaker 1: I'm doing what I do to man, y'all kill me.
- 48:43Speaker 1: You out there doing what you want to do, like
- 48:45Speaker 1: you all in this right here. Then you're coming to
- 48:48Speaker 1: me because I'm trying to empower somebody. I don't give
- 48:51Speaker 1: a damn about you. Man, see on how you want
- 48:53Speaker 1: to feel about me. But what you ain't gonna do, though,
- 48:56Speaker 1: it's talk to me like you Craig, because I ain't
- 48:58Speaker 1: that make the playing field fail. Okay. You got the airwaves,
- 49:02Speaker 1: you got the microphone, you got the ability to touch
- 49:05Speaker 1: a lot of people. Okay, and you're just telling you're
- 49:07Speaker 1: a walking talking on. Hold hold on, This ain't got
- 49:10Speaker 1: nothing doing with the air waves. This ain't got nothing
- 49:12Speaker 1: doing with the media. That just me and you talking.
- 49:16Speaker 1: I talk to you personally, perstantly me and you can
- 49:19Speaker 1: talk anything. I don't talk talking me in there. You're
- 49:24Speaker 1: called you're talking all this yet see his people like you? Man, dog,
- 49:28Speaker 1: you know why I wrote a book in the first place,
- 49:30Speaker 1: Because you're always somewhere up trying to act like you're
- 49:33Speaker 1: something that you win. Now you've got the sauce on
- 49:35Speaker 1: the phone. Now you're trying to make about money and
- 49:38Speaker 1: to me, this just me and you're just two men talking,
- 49:40Speaker 1: not what you want. And if there's two men then
- 49:42Speaker 1: talking in from one man to another, watch you just
- 49:45Speaker 1: go somewhere and sit down. It quit telling. First of all,
- 49:48Speaker 1: I ain't got to sit down. You're already doing nothing
- 49:51Speaker 1: as it is. She was. Soon as somebody go out
- 49:54Speaker 1: and do something, trying to do something positive. You've got
- 49:57Speaker 1: someone shaking big shimmy ways like you sitting up in here. Man,
- 50:01Speaker 1: want him to go sit down somewhere. I ain't gonna
- 50:03Speaker 1: sitting down, no damn where you can miss me with that.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I say what I want to say. And who are
- 50:09Speaker 1: you anyway? You ain't even doing nothing, And don't tell
- 50:12Speaker 1: me I ain't doing nothing. I'll tell you what I
- 50:13Speaker 1: am doing. I'm trying to do something. Every time I
- 50:16Speaker 1: take a step, you take two steps, I call a
- 50:20Speaker 1: man killing. Hey, yeah, you don't kill me. Why don't
- 50:23Speaker 1: you quit trying and do something you won't killing me, man,
- 50:26Speaker 1: with that on you trying to do something? Why don't
- 50:29Speaker 1: you do something? Dog? You shouldnt have been here talking
- 50:32Speaker 1: to me about what you're trying. You tell of selling
- 50:34Speaker 1: that same thing to your people. You're trying women, you're
- 50:37Speaker 1: tired of me and trying. Still where you're gonna do something?
- 50:40Speaker 1: I'm doing something right now now you're talking here on
- 50:43Speaker 1: the flower. You can be improving your relationship with your
- 50:46Speaker 1: don or whoever you're trying to get it together, But
- 50:48Speaker 1: you're on the phone with me complaining because I wrote
- 50:51Speaker 1: a book. Man, don't read the damn book. You probably
- 50:53Speaker 1: ain't read it, no way, And don't watch the TV show.
- 50:56Speaker 1: You probably ain't working enough to play the bill. No,
- 50:59Speaker 1: I don't know what a minute. You don't know nothing
- 51:01Speaker 1: about me? Okay, you don't know nothing about my finances.
- 51:04Speaker 1: You know what I I don't want about your finances?
- 51:06Speaker 1: This about you as a man. Man, If you don't
- 51:11Speaker 1: what y'all king here, what y'all do to me? To
- 51:13Speaker 1: what y'all do to me? Y'all always talking to me
- 51:16Speaker 1: on the email somewhere, you're always on the blog talking
- 51:19Speaker 1: about me. You don't even know me. Then when you're
- 51:22Speaker 1: giving me face to face. You want to bring up money.
- 51:25Speaker 1: This concepts ain't got nothing to a bout money. I
- 51:26Speaker 1: ain't brought them money one time. It's about man. Who Now,
- 51:29Speaker 1: why don't you do that right there a minute? No, Steve,
- 51:32Speaker 1: it ain't about money now because you got okay because
- 51:35Speaker 1: your guy when you wasn broke, I bet that when
- 51:37Speaker 1: you're at it, I want to know just what and man,
- 51:41Speaker 1: just with when I was broke, I was working. I
- 51:43Speaker 1: wasn't sitting on the phone crying to some other men
- 51:46Speaker 1: by what he making me feel with my wife. Yeah,
- 51:48Speaker 1: any time I take a step forward, you got me
- 51:51Speaker 1: took the two step round. That's why you ain't take
- 51:53Speaker 1: a step. Give me. I'll tell you something because you
- 51:57Speaker 1: got Franks off. Oh, I'm gonna call your break dog.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, Today's Strawberry Letter.
- 52:54Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. The Strawberry
- 52:58Speaker 1: Letter is up next, and wait until you hear this letter.
- 53:01Speaker 1: But first, it is Steve's birthday, like we've been telling
- 53:04Speaker 1: you all morning. And Jay, did you want to share
- 53:07Speaker 1: a quick birthday message to your friend Steve Harvey? Oh? Yeah,
- 53:11Speaker 1: back in the day, Yes, I think that the only
- 53:24Speaker 1: thing that I would probably share that we had this
- 53:27Speaker 1: before cell phone, before texts, before anything. We had a
- 53:31Speaker 1: special way that we could talk to one another. The
- 53:34Speaker 1: word was may day. Whenever somebody said may day, you
- 53:39Speaker 1: knew one of us was in trouble, and your best
- 53:41Speaker 1: bet was to get to a cell phone with a
- 53:44Speaker 1: roll of quarters. Because phone and the only way I knew,
- 53:49Speaker 1: because I had to call my answer machee. Yeah, and
- 53:52Speaker 1: if he was j was on my answer machine and
- 53:54Speaker 1: said may day, I had to stop whatever I was doing,
- 53:59Speaker 1: because you know, we were caught up in some strange situations,
- 54:02Speaker 1: having needing places to stay. And if you got put
- 54:06Speaker 1: out of a place, that's amazing. If you run out
- 54:12Speaker 1: of money on the road, that's a may day. If
- 54:16Speaker 1: you lost your book with all your dates in it
- 54:19Speaker 1: where you were supposed to go, that's you know, keeping
- 54:22Speaker 1: it like a little journal. Oh, that was definitely amazing. Now,
- 54:25Speaker 1: if you kept a journal of stuff you said and did,
- 54:29Speaker 1: that's amazing. Made I don't know why he had one
- 54:32Speaker 1: of them. He had one of them and a girl
- 54:38Speaker 1: found it. Oh, and I knew the girl. So I
- 54:46Speaker 1: happened to be going past the city that she was in.
- 54:51Speaker 1: So when he called with the may day, and I
- 54:52Speaker 1: called his machine back, and then I gave him the
- 54:54Speaker 1: number to the pay phone. I was gonna be standing
- 54:56Speaker 1: that waiting on it and fol thirty tomorrow, because that's
- 55:01Speaker 1: how you had to do. See. I would go find
- 55:04Speaker 1: a pay phone that was close to the rest area,
- 55:07Speaker 1: get the number, and then send it to his machine
- 55:10Speaker 1: and then tell him I'll be there between three and folks.
- 55:13Speaker 1: And I had to stand there wait, and then the
- 55:15Speaker 1: phone rang and it's him. He said, Man, she found
- 55:20Speaker 1: my daughter. I'm on the way. God. So I'm like
- 55:26Speaker 1: a hundred fifty miles away. So I drive over that
- 55:29Speaker 1: and try to talk her down. You know, it just
- 55:33Speaker 1: probably wasn't no gig that way. Yeah, but you're going
- 55:36Speaker 1: by there because I'm always closer somewhere because our hell
- 55:39Speaker 1: I was holding dog. I ain't got nothing to do.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I'm always closer. So after that, he came to my
- 55:52Speaker 1: apartment I had in Atlanta one time, and everything he owned.
- 55:57Speaker 1: I remember the picture we had where you had everything
- 56:00Speaker 1: ain't you own was on the on the floor. Everything
- 56:03Speaker 1: everything he owned he had Because you couldn't leave stuff
- 56:05Speaker 1: in the car. Yeah, you don't want to leave stuff
- 56:08Speaker 1: in the car. So he had he's everything just recorders, clothes, everything,
- 56:14Speaker 1: Everything I owned is in one picture in his apartment
- 56:18Speaker 1: on the floor. I had nothing else to my name.
- 56:22Speaker 1: I had nothing. I wish I had that picture. Hey man,
- 56:27Speaker 1: you remember that picture. This food had a picture of
- 56:31Speaker 1: him naked with some silver mercury wings on his heads
- 56:37Speaker 1: and some silver boots. But he was naked, but he
- 56:41Speaker 1: posed in the highs my trophy pose, so you couldn't
- 56:44Speaker 1: see nothing, but he would naked. He had that picture
- 56:50Speaker 1: like the FTD Man's. Yeah. No, I've never been in shape.
- 56:58Speaker 1: No was us shaped? Now? Data loss right now? Ve?
- 57:08Speaker 1: But yeah, man, I just man I had. I'm gonna
- 57:11Speaker 1: talking about everything I owned was in a picture. You
- 57:14Speaker 1: could see it. And I had this bag where like
- 57:17Speaker 1: if I was anywhere and I saw like some little bit,
- 57:20Speaker 1: you know, a little mini mini balls or soap, Yeah, yeah,
- 57:24Speaker 1: I had a lot of them, a lot of shampoo
- 57:26Speaker 1: and little bitty bottle. Had just a little bunch of
- 57:31Speaker 1: that stuff in the bag because I would grab it
- 57:33Speaker 1: every time I saw it, because you know, I got
- 57:35Speaker 1: to wash up somewhere. All right, Tommy, take us to
- 57:39Speaker 1: the letter, please bugging up and hold on tight we got.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I got this visual, Jake, I got that picture. I'm
- 57:49Speaker 1: gonna find incent subject man problems. Dear Steve, I'm a
- 58:01Speaker 1: thirty eight year old lady. I am a successful lady
- 58:05Speaker 1: with a number of degrees on my own home and car.
- 58:09Speaker 1: I guess none of that really matters when it comes
- 58:11Speaker 1: to love. My problem is I know this guy who
- 58:14Speaker 1: wants to get back with me. We were together a
- 58:16Speaker 1: long time ago. We attend the same church and have
- 58:19Speaker 1: the same friends. My friends keep telling me that I
- 58:22Speaker 1: should give the brother a chance. Now, Steve, he doesn't
- 58:25Speaker 1: have a car, nor a place to call his own.
- 58:28Speaker 1: He is forty years old, no steady job because of
- 58:31Speaker 1: health problems, health issues. He will work. I do love him,
- 58:35Speaker 1: but Steve, I want someone who can bring me something
- 58:38Speaker 1: to the table. Who can bring something to the table.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I know love is important, but Steve, a little security
- 58:44Speaker 1: will help a little bit more. What do you think
- 58:48Speaker 1: I need to do? Marriage is a serious step, and
- 58:50Speaker 1: I've got to be sure. Prayer is the only way
- 58:54Speaker 1: I know. I just wanted to get a male point
- 58:57Speaker 1: of view. Okay, I'm a female, but you don't care
- 59:03Speaker 1: what I got to say. But anyway, I say this
- 59:08Speaker 1: man problems. You're a successful lady, you've got three degrees,
- 59:11Speaker 1: your own your own home and all that. You say
- 59:14Speaker 1: that doesn't matter when it comes to love, But I say, yeah,
- 59:16Speaker 1: it does matter, and it matters big to you because
- 59:19Speaker 1: you put it in your letter. These are great accomplishments,
- 59:22Speaker 1: great accomplishments, so it should matter to you. Um, you've
- 59:25Speaker 1: worked hard, you're highly educated, your homeowner. I'm assuming your
- 59:29Speaker 1: credit is good and you've got it going on like that,
- 59:32Speaker 1: So why would you want to set yourself up to fail.
- 59:35Speaker 1: This man doesn't have a place of his own, you say,
- 59:37Speaker 1: doesn't have a car or a steady job. These things
- 59:41Speaker 1: bother you. He's not ready for a relationship. I can
- 59:44Speaker 1: tell you that right now, because he's got too many
- 59:46Speaker 1: issues to work out. What he needs is a friend.
- 59:50Speaker 1: He needs some support so he can get back on
- 59:52Speaker 1: his feet and be a real man. You said he
- 59:55Speaker 1: will work, so help him with his resume, you know,
- 59:58Speaker 1: help him with his health, health problems and stuff. But
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: don't marry him. Don't get into a relationship with him
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: right now, and tell your friends to pull up on
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: this one. She in the relationship, She in love with it.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: She got three degrees, she can find somebody. Let she
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: in love with it, man, and she's considering it. Yeah,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: what you considering? Going up? Alright, somebody and that this
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: is an accident? Up? Is this letter about you? Did
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: you write this? I wrote no letter? Alright, that's true, Right, alright.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: We'll have part two of Steve's response to today's Strawberry
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Letter coming back at twenty three after the hour you're
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, come on, Steve,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: let's get to part two of your response to today's
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter. What you got, Dear Steve? Subject man problems.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Dear Steve, Now this is directly to me. I am
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: a thirty eight year old lady. I am a successful
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: lady with the number of degrees on my own home
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: and car. I guess none of that really matters when
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: it comes to love. My problem is I know this
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: guy who wants to get back with me. We were
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: together a long time ago, we attend the same church
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: and have the same friends. Just wanted to get a
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: male point of view. Well, here's a couple of things.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Need to dress first. Prayer is the only way I
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: know other than righting in on the national radio shows,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: you should put that in parentheses, because that's what you did. Now,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: So maybe you tied away non answer from God. So
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I maybe then here had come. Maybe this could be both.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'm gonna try to help this woman.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: First of all, this woman has a number of degrees,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: got her own home and car. But then she clearly states,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: don't guess none of this really matter when it comes
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: to love. No, it don't, cause love is an emotion.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Ain't got nothing to do with your education, how much
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: you got, where you stayed. Love just pop up at
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: any time, and it's hard to control. Now, Steve, he
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: doesn't have a car nor a place to call his own.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: He is forty years old right now. I know a
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: lot of people got calls, but the one man you
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: know that's faulty ain't got a ride. Now, if you
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: live in New York, you can use that. Cabs is everywhere, subways,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: public transportation. This ain't a New York letter. This letter
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: from somewhere else. Now, your man ain't got no car.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: That's a problem. He doesn't have a car nor a
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: place to call his own. This is the critical line
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: in this letter. Nor a place to call his own.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: This woman is in the novel righting mode. Now, this
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: ain't how you're write about. No man nor a place
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: to call his own, because you know why, This is
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: why I feel sorry for him lying, which is what
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: a lot of women end up doing. You end up
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: bending around to your natural nurturing needs as women and mothers,
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: and that nurturing thing y'all do. And now y'all want
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: to nurture a grown ass man nor a place to
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: call his own? The hell you mean? Nor a place
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: to call He ain't got no crib, he ain't got
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: no house. How you gonna have a house? He ain't
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: got a car. I can tell you a bunch of
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: stuff he ain't got when you farted and ain't got
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: a car or a place to call your own? Something
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: is wrong here, and the reason is you ain't got
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: a steady job. No, And she go right after that,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: no steady job because of health issues. He will work, okay, lady,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: hold on now, if he will work, how come it
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: ain't working? What what health issues you're talking about? Now?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Either he got a bad back on his kiden is
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: his shot? What you one is? Okay? But I'm as
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: saying if you got a bad back your ask gonna
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: have to get a job in a chair. If your
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: kidn is this short, you ain't gonna be here long. No,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: how so, now let's really find out what we're talking
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: about here. His health issues? What health issues that causes
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you where you can't work? He ain't got no steady job,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: but he will work. If he'll work, he'll go down there.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: But hold up, though, when you ain't got no car,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: in no house, and you fart a whole lot, ain't
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: working you've been doing for all why on the reel? Okay?
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: But now here we go. But Steve, I do love him,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: but I want someone who can bring something to the table.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Of course you do. Every woman wants that your table full.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: You got degrees on your own car in your home.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Now you're finn. Just move this dude in here, get
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: some kids, adopt a baby. You want to just move
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: somebody in to take care him. Get it out, I say,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: get a dog now, now look here, look here. I
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: know love is important, but Steve, a little security will
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: help a little bit more. Yeah, we'll see up. What
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: what do you think I do? I do love him, No, no, no, no, lady,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: you love who he is, but you don't love what
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: he is, and women get that confused sometimes. If you
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: love who he is but you don't know what he
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: is to what he is, is gonna get in the
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: way who he is all the time. Women do that
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: all the time. You nurturing, and I can get him
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: through when you came, listen to me before I run
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: out of time. No matter what you do, you cannot
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: make all right. We got email us or Instagram. That's
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter at my girl, Shirley,

- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Steve, it's your birthday, so let's
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: go to the phone. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday day, Stevie,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday Steed. It is man,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: the reason I made it through college. And you know,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: the sun don't shine forever for this long it is here.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Then we might as well shine together better than that
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: and never because this befoon flessing who you don't do
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: it better? Not Oh my diddy, it's apy, it's p Diddy,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: it's brother, love everybody. Then it was going on with
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: your boy. Oh man, it's the beautiful day. Blessed to
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: have woken up, and especially on your born day. Chant
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: ye Man, I appreciate you, Man. I always enjoyed talking
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: to you, and congratulations. I sent you a text the
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: first night I saw the the hot new show on
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Fox fall before Yeah. Man, in a text, I say, hey, man,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: this thing right here, they get behind this. This thing
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: looked like a hit. Man. How you feel about it?
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Did it? Man? Um, if it feels like a hit,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: I'm excited about it. I'm gonna be honest. It's the
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: most fun I'm having on television. Um. It's it's loose.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: It's about the about the competitors and the contestants and
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: We're just having a lot of fun and put together
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: a panel of people that I've known for over like
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: fifteen years each. Except for Megan Trainer, I've known Kalent
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: and Charlie Walk, I've known them over fixteen years and
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: were just up there having a great time, trying to
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: make somebody's dreams come true. And that's what we've always
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: done our whole careers. And for me, it's it's like
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: really getting back to my routes because you know, I
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: was in business. I was really boggled down with business
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: the last two years in touring. So to be able
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: to come back and to be able to create a
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: platform for young artists to be seen and heard, it
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: is just incredible. Look, man, if you all haven't seen
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: this show, you have got to check it out. The
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: fourth It's it's really really a good show. So what
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: it is is we have we have four singers on stage,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: and anybody can challenge any one of those four singers
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: to gain their spot on stage because it will always
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: only be four. Is that correct, Diny? So what's the
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: fire party? Go ahead? Crazy? Part of it is it's
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: like vocal game of Thrones, the vocal with somebody could
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: just show up, Like we have two people showing up
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: this week that that we're watching last week, and they
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: auditioned and then they on the show this week. So
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: they went from there watching their home to being on
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the show in one week. And then when they could
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: pass us the panel, they say one song if they
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: kill at and they have the right to go challenge somebody,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: and then it gets it gives you a challenge. It
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: gets real combatitive, and they start talking trash to each other,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: want you don't want me and all that type of stuff,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: and then it goes down with the level of intensity
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: and the ruckis and the crowd makes it. It makes
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: it something new for the format, and it's just great TV.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Once you watch, you be hooked. You'll be happy, you'll
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: be entertained, and you know that that's hard to do
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: out here on television if you ain't Steve Harvey, everything
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: your hold dog, holding your Steve Harvey. Yeah, me and
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: my mom My, mom's like watching TV by the kitchen table,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: you know, and and the ship pulled me over and
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: she'll be watching the marathon of the Family Feud and
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I could watch that for ten hours straight and just
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: laugh and just be so entertained and so I'm dead
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: and I'm serious. You know I appreciate that too, man,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: I really do. And y'all the first week was on
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: that right, big boy come out the crowd and challenge
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: the little skinny pretty dude. Big boy wore his ass out.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: I'm talking about big boy. Big boy singing like a
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: grown man, and big boy took him out. Jay just
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: told me, big boy, somebody crush crushing young man named
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Jason Warrior right, that sunger John Legends. So he was good.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: He was so good because did he gave him the rule?
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Did he say if you go on your knees and
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: you come up and you ain't right, so he's taking
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: it out, that's right. You ain't supposed to help him
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: out now, But that young man was. He was hungry though.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: He don't boy, don't go have the big boy. Let
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: me have big boy, let me have yeah, And he won.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: The audience picked him. He was really good. I remember
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: this show. I love that. It's really good. It's one
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: of those shows. Did he when you watch it, you
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: how much time I got left for go off? Because
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I know it's gonna go off. You know, it's really
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: good show. Really, I love Fergie as the host too. Yeah, girl,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Yeah she can pull each other white yea, yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: I like she white. Yes, that's right, Yeah, we can't.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: That's all he liked this. It's a sad on a
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: black show all show. I understand. I understand where you're
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: coming with you though, Hey, did I understand where you're
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: covering from? I ain't said I was with you though.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Let me clarify this. All I got going? You noticed
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: that's black excellence all the way over him? Yeah, it's
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: one of the two sisters on the show. Did he
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: thank you? Thank you, thank you, thank you? Did he
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: say I was with man? Some man? You got to
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: know the magic. Ain't nearly to say it. Ain't even
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: know it's magic? No magic, you know? Did he I'm
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: gonna here. I'm not gonna disrespect you the four? Hey?
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Did he hang on one second? Man, We'll be right back, y'all. Hey,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: stick around. We got more with Diddy as soon as
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: we come back. You're seen Steve Harvey Morning Show, all
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: right from the four? He is here? Uh special guests?
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Did he called in wish Steve a happy birthday and
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: to talk about the four? What a great show Peter
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: got broke off all his money, broke, I got broke down.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I'm down to the last four. Hey man, I'm gonna
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: tell you something else that I think is incredible on
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: the show. It's real special you you and Calli's relationship
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: on the show. It's really special to see on TV.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: I don't I haven't seen it on any of like
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: The Voice American Ida where they had the judges. But
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: for two cats to have such admiration and respect and
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: genuine love for each other, but to go at it
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: but there's always in love. That's a really really great
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: thing to see. Yeah, I think did it. What happens
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: to the four winners? The people who win when when
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: you when you end up with the last four, what
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: happens to them? There's one thing I want to say
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: about the callous things, and I don't want to tell
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: you about that. The thing I'm very very proud of is,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: you know, I think in these times right now, we
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: have to look out for each other more, you know,
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: we we we have to when we get in money,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: we have to like call our brothers and bring them in.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: We're doing something on television, bringing some black producers. If
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: we're doing a panel, we have to kind of stand
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: firm and say who we want to have. So when
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: when Um, when they had asked me, I said, the
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: only way I'll do it is if I did it
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: with DJ Khali because it was my brother. We had
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: a chemistry and I just knew that together it would
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: be right. But most importantly my thing was I wanted
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: to have, you know, make sure that I had diversity
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: in the show. When you look at the show, you
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: have hip hop on there, you have like three of
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: the seek have African Americans on there. They're able to
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: sing whatever they want, you know, just being able to
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: do that. I think it's things that that we all
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: have to start to do. If if you have a
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: brother like Charlotte or somebody that you know it's talent
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: it you know, it's good for us to be out
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: there being seen doing work together. So it's like changing
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: the narrative. But when you see me and Kylie getting along,
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: they don't show us on TV like that. They don't
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: they don't show that camaraderie. And then as far as
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: the people that when they win the thing that they
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: get the I Heart Radio Power pushed, that means that
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: you get you know, blasted all over the radio stations,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: so you have support for your first single getting played
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: in the heavy rotation. The big pridits that you get me,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: you get Kalid, Charlie Walk, Meghan Trainer, Um, Charlie Walking
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: on the emotional men in the game. UM Kalid is
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: probably one of the best digital marketers in the game
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: and also record makers. And you know, I feel I
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: could be helpful all the way around. So you get
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: us with you after the show is over, and so
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: that's the big pride. Usually that these people win and
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: then they don't have a team after. But the team
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: is that you're signed to us and we're your team.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: I love when love that that. This show is incredible man,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Congratulations again brother, because I think you have a major
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: something that's gonna be around a long time. And also,
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: you know, just from the business standpoint, this happens to
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: be a it's the word I'm looking for, uh format.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: This is a formattic show. You have a formattic show,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: which means, you know, you go to London and sell
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: on this Australian selling China and sell it Japan. They
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: can speaking. Man, you should have heard the way I
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: did a little big shots I had I had twenty
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: six people that I was training to host big shots
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: that couldn't speak English. You should have been at that.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Damn me. My black ass was really not caring whether
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: you're the student me or not. I just wanted just me.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: So I think that's what's gonna happen. Man. I think
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: when you all go uh to cans for the TV
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: for for milk, I think that this show sales big
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: man overseas. So congratulations man again. On another hit, Did
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: hey y'all listen this Thursday at a pm Eastern on
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Fox This Thursday at a p m Eastern on Fox,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: all new episode of the four. It's a battle for stardom,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: y'all and your boy callinan did he his day every night?
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Along with let me get these names right? Began Trainer
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: and Charlie Walk and man, did he keep doing your thing? Boy?
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Appreciate you? Say it? Did he say it? Say it?
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: I love it? We're talking to you. Didn't love you? Man? Alright?
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: So steve back to you on your sixty one birthday. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: So the crew is asking you questions because we know you,
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: but there are a lot of things about you we're
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: learning today for the first time. So j I think
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: you're up with a question. You have a question, And
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: that's a question I asked my kids. It's us. Out
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: of all of your kids, Steve, which one of your
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: kids will give up everything they have to just physically
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: take care of you if you couldn't take care of yourself.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: M h. Winton would m my son, Stevie, would your
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: nephew would? I really believe Lorie would? And and and Brandy? Yeah?
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: That that I think if something really happened, me will
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: give up all to take care of me. Winton, Stevie,
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: Lorie and Brandy. That's good, all right? Morgan got a child,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Carley got a child, Jay got kids. Dain't do damn?
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: You in good health? And I ain'tmpressed about it? All right,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: here's the it's just Steve. What did you highly anticipate
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: that turned out to be a letdown? Huh wow? That question.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: I really thought fame was something special. I thought that
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: fame was this wonderful thing that happened to a person
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: and it just smoothed out so many things for you
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: hard and you work hard and you get famous and
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: people cheer for you, and and and that that it was.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I was under such a disillusion about fame, so delusional
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: about fame. It has turned out to be one of
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: the most difficult things to do. It's it's unexplainable at times. Back, yeah,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: but would you trade it though, No, it's do living
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: in that car having a pitch with all that was.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: We gotta go. We'll be back with more of the
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Morning Show. Happy sixty first birthday to you, Steve Harvey.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Happy birthday to you, sir. Just one. It's also Carla's
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: daughter's birthday. Yes, thank you for that. Surely my baby birthday, Dave. Yes, yes,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: my daughter is ten years old two thousand eight. Thank
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: you very much. Happy birthday, sweetie Tasha. And she loves you.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: She loves us some uncle, Steve. So there you go,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: happy birthday talk ten years old. I mean we remember
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: when you are on maternity leave, Carla. This time goes fast. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Now you had a birthday party four times this past Sunday. Uh.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: Did you know there's a recent survey that says parents
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: spend over five hundred dollars five hundred dollars for kids birthdays.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Not my family, you know the birthday. Well, I mean
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: we're talking like you wanted that budget. You take that
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: right over the country, didn't you? Yeah, kicked it. They
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: still down when they're coming back today to spend celebrate
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: your birthday. So color, what did you do? I mean,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: did you go? Did you? We went big party bus.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: They we took them to one of her favorite restaurants
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: and the dance gym. It gets expensive and I don't
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: know why these birthdays. Oh yeah, yeah it was. It
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: was over five hundred. You're right, Steve. I mean you
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: see it with your grandkids, don't you? You gotts see it,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: y'aller parents, Do you see that, Steve? Things kind of
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: get out of hand with these kids these days. I
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: don't know if it's bought up. What damn thanks Giving?
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: A patting zoo? Do that? I mean, not for Thanksgiving?
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: For Halloween? You do that? What if we pen animals
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: for Halloween? Cut these puckers up and let's get through
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: with this. Some hay in the yard, cut some teeth
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: in these pockets, and let's call it a bunch of
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: candy until they get sick. But if we got a
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: patting zoo out here and then a t p they
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: got nothing to do with the Halloween. So then day
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: in the backyard. The next day is Wednesday, So I'm
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: off from TV on Wednesday. Right, So there in the
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: backyard and the people come to remove the petting zoo
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: now that the animals has gone, you know that eating,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: but the corral and all is still up and the
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: Big six team for the high t pe. I'm out
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: there at the pool smoking a cigar. All of a sudden,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: my grandkids and damp and so I'm tripping. I'm going
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: I'll run around the corner. Pop that damp. I said, yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: they gotta take TP back. Keep that ain't hours came
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: that be long to the people right there, that damp
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: pop by that da tap shut up crying about this
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: damn keep not out. That's what I tell the dude.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I said, hey, man, do my favor. Man, can you
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: stop taking the TP down while they the lasses here?
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: You learn when they go in the house, didn't take
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: the TP down, but stop let them take your sir.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: I have to take the TP down. Thinking in that
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: let me thinking, don't don't move the damn TP while
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: the kids. Now I'm the hero, Huh, this ain't man,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: you gotta stoped we come back, I'll tell you what
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: all happened. You're listening Steve Hard Morning Show. All right,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: Steve as we almost closed out of the show on
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: your sixty one birthday. So come on part two of
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: the TPS. I'm telling you that that day is in
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: here and them grandkids of mine that day. They can't
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: can't take you if you don't shut your points up
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: crying about your this ain't you TP. I'm telling to
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: do he man, stop taking tep down in front of kids.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: Just go get the corral up or something. But let
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: me get the kids to the front of the house
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: and then you take to sir. I cannot stop. I
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: am doing my job. Amen, I'll tell you what that
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: Who was mergery? She in the house. I'm the only
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: one back here. That's what made it traumatic. I would
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: have walked away of one of the other adults was outside,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: but I was the only one, and I supposed to
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: be watching them. I didn't know the answer, slid off
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: round the corner because I'm smoking a cigar. So they
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: crying about the tepee, so I asked, So I bought
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: the damn teeth seven thousand dollars for this damn TEP.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: It was seven thousand dollars. So I tell the dude,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: I said, look, man, let me just buy the damn
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: So I buy it, and I tell him he said,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: I said, put it back in the corner of the backyard,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: you know, in the tree area. Just put it back
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: there where the trees is, and just happen so you
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: can't hardly see it. It's nicest back there. So this,
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: so this happens that Thanksgiving. So the kids come back
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: out for Christmas, right, and little roses an uncle Tom.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: Now because she talked, so she tell every damn thing. Yeah,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: my granddaughters Tom. So she go and get a drin,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: going no, no, I t P smell like Papa cigars.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: I'm looking at her little over here, telling you're telling
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: me stupid. So then so then Margie look at me
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: and go, Steve, you've been smoking in the tepee. The
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: kids TP, that's the baby. They ain't been here. Now
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: I have been this seven thousand dollars. That ain't a
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: damn tpe. That's a cigar because I haven't been in there.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Man turning into a cigar, Loue. And it's kind of
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: cool back there in the trees and shade man hat ceiling.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: This is a cigar. Yeah, this ain't no TV. I
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: got you a chair, No, no, I got a chair.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: I ain't sitting on the floor because I had them
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: be on me a wooden floor, so you ain't sitting
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: on the ground. So even if it outside, you could
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: sit in there. That's pretty cool, actually really cool. Listen.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: But my little granddaughter, Uncle Tom told it. Go ahead.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: Time you got a questions? Yeah, I was gonna ask you,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: what is it that you would like to do that
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: you can't do anymore because of who you are, whether
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: it's something public or supporting you. I would love to
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: be able to tell the jokes I want to tell.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: I would love to be an unrestricted stand up. That's
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: the one part of oh Man being a truth teller,
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: being able to explore different subjects with humor attached to it.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: And you know, man, that's that's what the one thing
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: I missed doing is being that as a truth teller
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: because I don't know how to not tell jokes the
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: way I told them, and that right there would cost
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: me my career. We'll be back to close out the
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: show with just one more thing and Steve closing remarks
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: on his sixty one birthday. You're listening to Steve Harvey
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: Morning Show. Here we are, last break of the day.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: Just one more thing, Steve. Have you enjoyed your birthday
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: so far? Yeah? Yeah, yeah so far. Just get started.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: I'm working today. Okay, I got two talk shows to
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: do today. Wow, it never stops. Huh. Looking good and
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: you get you know money now? Oh man, that was
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: funny today. Sixty one years is a long time. Um.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: I would hope. My goal is to live to one
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: oh four. That's my goal. Now. If that's within God's will,
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: then cool. If it's not, I'm gonna give it the
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: best shot I got. I'm gonna how to do the
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: things I can do to stay here as long as
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: I can. And as I'm sitting here celebrating this birthday
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: to day, I want to say something to everybody. And
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: since my birthday is in the beginning of the month,
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I mean in the beginning of the year, it's always
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: so close to New Year's that it's a It's a
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: special birthday for me because I just reinforce some things
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: I've been working on. It gives me a chance to
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: reinforce some things that I've been thinking of doing, and
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: it just every new year allows me another opportunity to
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: make some changes. And I encourage everybody to do the
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: same thing in your life. You know, make this year
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: better than the year before and better than the year
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: before that Your two thousand and eighteen can be more
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: fruitful than your fifteen, your fourteen, your teen, your nine,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: your nineteen ninety nine. When people it really throws men
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: when people go, those were the best years of my
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: life and it's twenty thirty years ago. It's almost like
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: some people have just given up hope that it will
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: ever get better for them. I've never resigned myself to
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: that type of thinking, and I invite you not to
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: do that. Also that listen to me. When God wakes
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: you up in the morning and gives you another birthday,
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: as long as he's waking you up, it's it's a
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: sign that he's not through with you yet. And so
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: with that in mind, if he's not through with you yet,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: that must mean that he has something else to give
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: to you, present to you, or send your way that
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: you've yet to receive. And that's just an optimistic way
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: to look. God ain't take you to two thousand eighteen,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: so it could be worse than your seventeen sixteen and fifteen.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: He's just not that type of God. Now that's not
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: to say that something won't happen in two thousand and eighteen,
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: but there's nothing that happens to you that you can't
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: deal with. And you've proven it time and time again
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: because you're still here. The fact that you're here and
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: still waking up is living proof that you have conquered
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: most things that have been presented to you. So as
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: I move forward in this upcoming year, and I look
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: at February is approaching a March and April, and God
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: will in June, July and all these things, I mean, man,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: why not take an optimistic approach? You know? There are
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: some ways that you can ensure that your life is better.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: You know, because I tell people it's all the time
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: you have to say so in your life. That is
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: a scripture that I read all the time, and it's
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: in my motivational section of my phone. I have picture
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: and that catalog and my motivational section. I can go
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: through that whenever I'm feeling a little bit like not
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: myself or down, and I just start going through it
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: and it's got all these sayings and scriptures and quotes
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: and things that I've learned over my life that helped
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: pull me together. But I'm a point of scripture to everybody.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: It's he Feesians three twenty. He Feesians three twenty. If
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: you get a chance today, I would if you read
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: this every morning until the point where you memorize and
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: you say it every day, it has a profound effect
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: on your life. Because he frees In three twenty says
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: or think, because I honor Him, His blessings will chase
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: me down and overtake me. I will be in the
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: right place at the right time. People will go out
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: of the way to be good to me. I am
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: surrounded by God's favor. This is my declaration. That's an
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: important scripture Feesians three twenty. If you read this every day,
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: what is you? What is saying is that you actually
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: have a say so in the outcome of your life.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: You are an active participant. You and God have everything
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: to do with where you're going. No one else. Now,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: other people can have something to do with what happens
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: to you. Somebody can leave you, somebody can disappoint you.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: Somebody can fire you, somebody can low on you. Somebody
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: can try to hurt you physically. Somebody can jump on you.
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: Somebody can steal your car, somebody can set your house
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: over fire. Somebody can attack you on social media. Okay, cool,
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: that's gonna happen. But at the end of the day,
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: my declaration is God will do exceedingly and abundantly over
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: all that I think I asked simply because I honor him. See,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: that's his promise. That's not anything you have to go
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: and get a new contract on. The contract was written
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: thousands of years ago, and he said that he would
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: do exceedingly and abundantly over all. You think I asked
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: if you honor him, so why would you not do
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: it that way? I'm gonna spend my two eighteen honoring God. Now.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Am I gonna make some mistakes a long way? Yeah?
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: Am I gonna do a little bit of cussing long
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: the way? Probably? Am I gonna want to slap somebody
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: one time? Yep? Am I gonna think about knocking somebody out? It? Probably?
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I'm gonna honor
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: him for all. Steve Harvey contests. No purchase necessary, void
