- 0:03Unknown: Hi, everybody. Welcome back to the mindful you podcast.
- 0:09I'm Alan Carroll, and I'm your host. And today
- 0:14Jessa Carter
- 0:17Jessa Carter has a very interesting journey into
- 0:22mindfulness,
- 0:24spent 10 years as a neurosurgeon,
- 0:27and had so much pressure and you know, 6080 hours of work, not
- 0:35much of a life other than being the doctor, and decided I have
- 0:41to, I have to break the pattern, I have to do something. Because
- 0:46what I'm doing now is exhausting me physically, mentally and
- 0:50emotionally.
- 0:52And she had a, an experience, and call it a calling. And wish
- 0:58she realized that her journey was going to be more in the
- 1:03spiritual domain, and how to manifest wealth, how to support
- 1:08people in having a divine divine wealth, using the power of the
- 1:14mind in order to help facilitate and create those experiences for
- 1:19people very much enjoyed talking with Jessica. And, and I'm
- 1:26looking forward to having future conversations with her. Because
- 1:30she's just a wealth of information, a wealth of wisdom,
- 1:34and a lot of exciting things to share with us today. So please
- 1:39welcome Jessica Carter, to the mindful you, podcast.
- 1:45Hi, Jess, welcome to the mindful you podcast, I'm excited to have
- 1:50the opportunity to meet you, and have you share your journey with
- 1:56our audience, your background, what got you into the work that
- 2:00you're doing to help bring consciousness into the world,
- 2:04and some of the things that you've done and some of the
- 2:08activities that you've done, but we'll start with a little bit of
- 2:10your background. So go ahead and share with us a little bit of
- 2:14what you're doing in the world.
- 2:17Jessa Carter: So the background for me is it's a bit unique. I
- 2:23started out in western medicine with a 10 year career and
- 2:27neurosurgery. So yes, I used to drill holes in people's heads,
- 2:32oh.
- 2:35Unknown: And so I very lightheartedly say that I now do
- 2:39mind surgery, no scalpels or anesthesia required. That's
- 2:44sweet. That's sweet.
- 2:47And so on my journey when I first started on a path of
- 2:56growth, personal professional spiritual growth, I had been
- 3:03working in neurosurgery at that time, I was six years in I had
- 3:07been working 60 to 80 hours a week and
- 3:12had no life outside of work. Outside Looking In, everything
- 3:17would have looked really, you know, remarkable beautiful
- 3:21townhome luxury car in the driveway, you know, prestigious
- 3:25letters behind my name and a prestigious career. And, you
- 3:29know, what was going on behind the scenes was I had lost a
- 3:33significant other and,
- 3:36and my finances were in the dump. And so here I was, you
- 3:41know, a young, bright professional living, you know,
- 3:45with a prestigious job and six figure salary, living paycheck
- 3:50to paycheck. And
- 3:53so I reached a breaking point, as anyone does when you're
- 3:59burning the candle from both ends of the sticks for for that
- 4:04duration of time. And I woke up one day, and I said that there's
- 4:13there's more to life than you know, than, than what you're
- 4:17currently experiencing. And
- 4:21and so what I what was interesting, though, was when I
- 4:25first started on my journey, and what I was first seeking was
- 4:30greater wealth and greater success because I always thought
- 4:34that I always thought that more money was was the answer. And
- 4:41and I had an I created an opportunity to do that. So I
- 4:45made a transition in medicine and I started doing contract
- 4:48work.
- 4:50And, and that led to a significant increase in my
- 4:54salary. It also led to a decrease in the amount of time
- 4:57that I was working. So I went from those 60 to 80 hour work.
- 5:00weeks to only working 14 days a month, which is pretty awesome.
- 5:04I had two weeks off every single month. And I was making about
- 5:07twice the pay. And in a short time in I found myself living
- 5:12paycheck to paycheck again. And that's when I knew that
- 5:15something was wrong.
- 5:19And clearly the answer was not more money. And so I started
- 5:25focusing on abundance in my yoga practice. And that led me to an
- 5:32event called the called the Millionaire Mind intensive,
- 5:36which doesn't even doesn't even exist anymore. But
- 5:42that it was at that event, when I received the guidance, that
- 5:47clear calling that clear guidance of Jesse, you're
- 5:50supposed to be on that stage.
- 5:53And I said yes to the call, not knowing really where that was
- 5:57going to take me.
- 6:01And as my journey continued to unfold,
- 6:06what I was guided to support people in their journey on was
- 6:12that same piece that it was for me.
- 6:16I was seeking greater wealth and success. And what I received was
- 6:20so much more than that. And so my my first book is called The
- 6:25peaceful millionaire,
- 6:28mind money and soul wisdom. And I'll be writing the peaceful
- 6:32multimillionaire this year and the peaceful billionaire in the
- 6:36coming years. And so, in, in the consciousness space, I'm
- 6:44certified as a Theta Healing practitioner, I have seven
- 6:47certifications, and really just dove into the neuroscience of
- 6:53not only consciousness, but really wealth and success. And
- 6:56so my work is in divine wealth, and
- 7:01I'm leading a revolution of freedom. And it is my mission to
- 7:06make financial freedom the norm, and help a billion people
- 7:10worldwide become financially free.
- 7:14That sounds wonderful. Thank you for doing all those all those
- 7:18things. You You mentioned a couple of words that I wanted to
- 7:23clarify, because I'm not clear on them. One was seven levels of
- 7:28Theta Healing.
- 7:30Could you could you give me a snapshot of Theta Healing and,
- 7:36and I want you to think about people who are listening to the
- 7:39podcast, what they could do an exercise or something practical
- 7:45that they could take away from our conversation that would help
- 7:48them achieve that state that you're talking about?
- 7:53Absolutely. So
- 7:56theta theta healing utilizes a theta state, which is a theta
- 8:01Brainwave. So it's a it's a, it's a deeply relaxed state. So
- 8:06it is oftentimes what's considered a meditative state.
- 8:10But there's a specific meditative process that you can
- 8:13go go through to get into that beta state. Now, that's not
- 8:17something that I can that I can teach and share on a podcast.
- 8:20But one of the tools that, that I can share is to is a
- 8:27mindfulness practice is to pause. And so I teach something
- 8:33called the the concept of slowing down in order to speed
- 8:37up. And one of the ways that you can create space and time within
- 8:40your mind and within your day, and create these moments and
- 8:45opportunities for you to slow down in order to speed up is to
- 8:48pause. And so pause is just to take a pause to stay, take that
- 8:54step back from from whatever's either happening physically in
- 8:58your world, or whatever's happening mentally in your world
- 9:02to pause and take a step back from that. And from a wealth
- 9:06consciousness and prosperity, consciousness perspective, the
- 9:09opportunity is to pause, close your eyes, take a deep breath,
- 9:15and say to yourself, I breathe, therefore I prosper. I breathe,
- 9:21therefore I prosper.
- 9:28I breathe, therefore I prosper.
- 9:31I breathe, therefore, I prosper.
- 9:34I'm a big fan of pausing.
- 9:40And the challenge that I have with pausing is unless you have
- 9:47a thought,
- 9:49inside your head,
- 9:51in the middle of the chaos, to pause
- 9:55pausing isn't going to happen. So how do you get yourself to be
- 9:59a one
- 10:00Make enough to tell yourself to pause. So you don't get seduced
- 10:05by whatever that event is that's happening in front of you,
- 10:08you're able to stand in stillness and silence and, and
- 10:12groundedness and not be caught by the whirlwind of the thoughts
- 10:16that are circling around that thing outside that's causing
- 10:19issues.
- 10:22Well, I think I think at some point, when you're when you're
- 10:25in a, a, whether it's a an environment that feels chaotic,
- 10:31or that mental space that feels chaotic, when you're really when
- 10:36you're overthinking something like your, your body reaches a
- 10:39point of awareness, like you automatically reach a point of
- 10:42awareness.
- 10:44And so what I used what I used to do when when my mind was much
- 10:48more active, because you because over time, I've I've read
- 10:52completely retrained and reprogrammed my brain to operate
- 10:55in a very different way. But I'm definitely someone who used to
- 10:59overthink everything, and was always in my headspace. And so
- 11:04there's a couple of couple of different things that you can
- 11:07do. So one is you have to create a pattern or up for yourself. So
- 11:10if you're, if you at least get to that point of awareness of my
- 11:14thoughts are spiraling. What I used to do to myself is, I would
- 11:18say I would literally like speak to myself out loud, and I would
- 11:21say, justice, stop,
- 11:24stop,
- 11:25trust, believe, let go and allow, trust, believe, let go
- 11:29and allow. So wherever I was in the chaos, I would out loud,
- 11:37speak to myself and tell myself to stop, to trust to let go and
- 11:43allow.
- 11:45One of the other things that you can do as a pattern interrupt is
- 11:48if you say to yourself, stop, speak to yourself, use your own
- 11:52name, justice, stop.
- 11:55And the other thing you can do is say, get out of your head,
- 11:58get into your heart, get out of your head, get into your heart,
- 12:00and you actually put your hand on your head and move it to your
- 12:03heart. So you'd speak to yourself, get out of your head,
- 12:06get into your heart, get out of your head, get into your heart.
- 12:08And what will happen is like, you'll you'll automatically like
- 12:14shift,
- 12:17you'll automatically shift. I like to give multiple options
- 12:21for people. And you know, one, one of the other breaks is if
- 12:26you can, like this, this is an example that specifically
- 12:30happened to me when I was still working in medicine and doing
- 12:33contract work, I had a contract that I had been working on for
- 12:38months, that was gonna give me full time work for like the next
- 12:41six months.
- 12:43And at the last minute, I received a phone call that that
- 12:45had fallen through.
- 12:48And, you know, this was well before my
- 12:53hitting my four minute by four minute mile and achieving
- 12:56financial freedom for myself, this was well before that. So so
- 13:00what that created, that phone call created, and knowing that
- 13:05this, you know, solid source of income that I was supposed to
- 13:08have for six months, just that I had been working on for months,
- 13:12just went down the buy down the drain,
- 13:16you know, that it's those types of moments that, that create
- 13:21this visceral reaction of almost panic,
- 13:26you know, and the the, oh, oh, crap moments of and what am I
- 13:32going to do, right, and the fear takes over. And it becomes very
- 13:36overwhelming. And I remember the moment, I remember the moment
- 13:41very vividly. And, and I wanted to shut down. And, and I and all
- 13:47I wanted to do was cry. Because at that moment, I was like I
- 13:51don't know what I'm going to do.
- 13:53And
- 13:55what I said to myself, I gave myself a moment because it is
- 14:00important to feel. So I gave myself a moment to feel and a
- 14:05couple of minutes to cry. But at the same time, I'm also very
- 14:09aware that crying is not going to fix anything.
- 14:13And so I gave myself a moment to feel the emotion with the
- 14:17knowing that the that just if I express the emotion that it
- 14:21would that it would shift and that the emotion itself wasn't a
- 14:24solution wasn't going to fix anything.
- 14:27And then I just started saying to myself, everything happens
- 14:31for a reason. And that reason is there to serve me, even if I
- 14:33can't see it right now. Everything happens for a reason.
- 14:36And that reason is there to serve me even if I can't see it
- 14:38right now. And I kept repeating it and I kept repeating it and
- 14:41kept repeating it and then all of a sudden, the thought popped
- 14:46into my mind.
- 14:49Well, what if?
- 14:51What if instead of doing contract work because I had
- 14:55recently gotten a per diem job in New York and was like
- 15:00What if instead of traveling and continuing to do contract work?
- 15:04What if I could find multiple per diem jobs here in New York,
- 15:09that would give me It pays almost as much as contract work,
- 15:13it would give me the ability to work as much or as little as I
- 15:16wanted to. It also gives me full ability to control my schedule.
- 15:21And so that what if I was like, Well, that could actually work?
- 15:26And because I shifted in that moment, right, because I went to
- 15:31everything happens for a reason that reason they're served me
- 15:33even if I can't see it right now, when the answer came
- 15:38with that idea with that, what if I immediately went online and
- 15:42started looking for other per diem opportunities in New York?
- 15:46And I found several
- 15:48of which were literally posted within the past 24 to 48 hours.
- 15:56Yep. I, what I hear you talking about is that you have you had
- 16:02an experience. And the experience caused a lot of
- 16:05stirring up of thoughts, survival thoughts, fear
- 16:09thoughts. And what you did is you overrode it, with some
- 16:15statements of confidence. And that calm down the stirring up
- 16:21of the thoughts, which were getting in the way of action.
- 16:25And then once the you've calmed down, you took the breath. And
- 16:29then you said, Okay,
- 16:32what am I going to do now? And so then you pursued something
- 16:35and out of out of that empty space, I called the empty space
- 16:40of you let go of the, the tension, I guess, another thing
- 16:46opened up, another space opened up and so you're able to, you're
- 16:50able to turn something that was a negative into Oh, that was
- 16:53meant to be because I wouldn't have gotten that at this
- 16:56happened. And so and what you got was something that was even
- 16:59nicer and prettier and new. And, and, and that you you have that
- 17:04now, is that what you're talking about?
- 17:08Yeah, absolutely. The synchronicity right. So so one
- 17:12of the you know, one of the other shifts is, you know, that
- 17:16every every perceived obstacle
- 17:21is an opportunity. So if you just shift your perspective,
- 17:25from obstacle equals obstacle to obstacle equals opportunity,
- 17:31what happens is, if your perception if your minds
- 17:36definition of is obstacle equals obstacle, your subconscious mind
- 17:41throws up a giant red stop sign, and it acts accordingly.
- 17:45But when you what you're actually overriding in that
- 17:49shift, when you say obstacle equals opportunity, when you say
- 17:53everything happens for a reason, and that reason is there to
- 17:55serve me even if I can't see it right now, what you're doing is
- 17:59you're overriding your logical, conscious thinking mind, and
- 18:04you're allowing the profound intelligence from your
- 18:08subconscious mind to actually step in and support you. So
- 18:11when, when you say obstacle equals opportunity, what happens
- 18:17is now your subconscious mind actually steps in and start
- 18:19searching for the opportunity. Or when you're saying to
- 18:22yourself, everything happens for a reason that reasons there's
- 18:25certainly even if I can't see it right now. So you're not that's
- 18:28not talking to your conscious, logical thinking mind for a
- 18:31solution that's actually tapping into your subconscious mind.
- 18:34Where's where's my solution? Where's the opportunity? And
- 18:38that's where the answers come from. The answers don't come
- 18:40from here.
- 18:43And to be able to go from here to here
- 18:48is mindfulness. I would say, if you're in your head, that would
- 18:53be I use the word you're disembodied. And when you're in
- 18:56your body, your heart you're in, you're in, you're in you're,
- 18:58you're in, embodied, and the thoughts that were causing the
- 19:04aggravation have faded away, and now you're just
- 19:10still
- 19:12and your body and then then then the universe
- 19:16opens up its arms and magic, magical things happen. That's
- 19:21what I that's what I experienced on my side of the coin and I bet
- 19:24it's the same for you too.
- 19:26Yeah, well, it's kind of it's kind of like it's kind of like
- 19:28pressing pause, you know, on the on the chatter on on the on the
- 19:33mental chatter. It's like pressing pause like if you if
- 19:38you just press pause on that long enough to to get quiet and
- 19:43to to go within there's there's one of one of the principles in
- 19:48the peaceful Millionaire is if you sit with a question long
- 19:52enough, the answer will find you. If you sit with a question
- 19:56long enough, the answer will find you so
- 20:00Even even that statement of everything happens for a reason.
- 20:03And that reason is there to serve you even if you can't see
- 20:05it right now, it's similar to sitting with a question because
- 20:11because your your mind is like, Well, where is it? Right? You
- 20:15know, everything happens for a reason that reason is there to
- 20:18serve me even if I can't see it right now, your subconscious
- 20:21mind is searching for that reason. And, and you'll, you'll
- 20:24receive answers. And so.
- 20:28So that's where that's where most people
- 20:33you know, kind of lose a lot of power. When it comes to the
- 20:38power of the mind, I teach the mind as a $27 billion asset with
- 20:4327 billion kilowatts of power. And, and when you understand how
- 20:50valuable and powerful your mind is, and when you learn how to
- 20:53use that, and leverage that value, and that power to your
- 20:58benefit, you, you now automatically have this edge.
- 21:05Yep, above everyone else. Yep. A resource that's not available to
- 21:09other people definitely is something that I've experienced.
- 21:13Before we complete, I'd like to ask you, so the audience has
- 21:18been listening to you share, and they say, Wow, that's fantastic.
- 21:21I'd like to know more about what Jess is doing, how can people
- 21:25connect with you.
- 21:28So the best way to connect with me, if you would love to just
