- 2:19Speaker 1: Make that money, make that money, make that money. But
- 2:21Speaker 1: are you saving that money? Are you what? Are you?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Keep keeping up with the Jones. That's what we lose
- 2:29Speaker 1: all our money trying to keep out with the Jones.
- 2:33Speaker 1: We really do, We really do, Mark, we do? You
- 2:37Speaker 1: know the car the house, you know. When I started
- 2:40Speaker 1: the show is trying to get everybody side of the story,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know, because we all have images of what success
- 2:47Speaker 1: is all about. And I try to bring individuals on
- 2:51Speaker 1: who has different layers, different stories to tell, and I'll
- 2:53Speaker 1: try to get that information and and and from in
- 2:56Speaker 1: an entertaining way so they can take it home and go, Okay,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I hopefully I won't make the mistake or I'm making
- 3:02Speaker 1: that mistake and I'm gonna do a different based on
- 3:04Speaker 1: the advice I heard on my show. And so when
- 3:07Speaker 1: I got the opportunity to bring you on, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 1: your stand up comedian, you know what that we we
- 3:11Speaker 1: we we we cut our lives on that and then
- 3:14Speaker 1: the COVID nineteen here in March. How did that affect you?
- 3:17Speaker 1: And how did how that affect me? We can't even
- 3:21Speaker 1: say effect, yes, a fact and effect effect. I'm sorry
- 3:26Speaker 1: and I didn't okay, effect, I'm getting deefend and you
- 3:29Speaker 1: don't want me. I don't know how deep you want
- 3:30Speaker 1: me to go. And here we gonna go. See it's
- 3:32Speaker 1: gonna be a bullish compensation bullet It's gonna go bullets. Well,
- 3:36Speaker 1: it affected me because if you look at Indian industry
- 3:40Speaker 1: that has been affected, the comedy industry has been devastated
- 3:44Speaker 1: that no industry has been devastated here just think this, sir,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I was doing I was about to do um um.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Let me say, I just did the Oakland College. Seem
- 3:55Speaker 1: just just just put a perspective. I just did the
- 3:57Speaker 1: Oakland College them a month before I was just about
- 3:59Speaker 1: to do Vegas to see in Vegas something all that
- 4:02Speaker 1: is gone, my residency in Vegas, baby, I was I
- 4:04Speaker 1: was going, this is for the high rollers in Vegas.
- 4:07Speaker 1: This was the greatest gig in the world because I
- 4:09Speaker 1: didn't have to sell no tickets. It was just just
- 4:11Speaker 1: for the high rollers of a certain Casino. I was
- 4:13Speaker 1: about to start that residency. I was on tour with
- 4:16Speaker 1: Mike Epps some more, and suddenly all of it is gone,
- 4:21Speaker 1: is gone, It's not coming back. It's done. So here
- 4:24Speaker 1: I am in the world. Financially. I know that you've
- 4:28Speaker 1: got to have a diverse portfolio, But my god, who
- 4:31Speaker 1: ever thought of a portfolio that is you know, adverse?
- 4:36Speaker 1: So I know, so here I am. I don't know
- 4:38Speaker 1: what to do, you know, I I panic the first
- 4:40Speaker 1: couple of months. I panic that this panic. I didn't
- 4:43Speaker 1: know what to do. And I said, Okay, where do
- 4:45Speaker 1: I get in? Where do I fit in? It? It's
- 4:47Speaker 1: gonna be virtual, It's gonna be a virtual situation. Uh
- 4:52Speaker 1: you know what am I gonna do? But I mean,
- 4:54Speaker 1: I've been devastated, devastated. So just let you know. In
- 4:57Speaker 1: the in the money marketing world, you have to you know,
- 5:02Speaker 1: program yourself for everything. You never know. This is this
- 5:06Speaker 1: is this is something to talk about. Even if you
- 5:08Speaker 1: have a diverse before Leo, that may not even work.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You have to rethink the business. So here I am.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I know, I'm a good comedian. I'm like, what damn,
- 5:16Speaker 1: what am I gonna do? I said, well, you know what,
- 5:19Speaker 1: something's gonna come out of this. In any in any situation,
- 5:22Speaker 1: there's a positive. And um, if you look at Madam C. J. Walker,
- 5:27Speaker 1: I think she made her Miriam is doing the depression.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So there was hope. So I was like, okay, where where?
- 5:34Speaker 1: What am I gonna What's gonna happen? What am I
- 5:35Speaker 1: gonna do? So I'm thinking virtual comedy is gonna be
- 5:39Speaker 1: is gonna be the thing, you know, And so I
- 5:42Speaker 1: just got myself and I just started writing. I said, well,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I think the best comedian is gonna win. So that's
- 5:47Speaker 1: all I did, you know, the only thing I can do.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And then I had to change in my business. I said,
- 5:52Speaker 1: comedy is no longer a viable business to me to
- 5:56Speaker 1: make money. So I gotta, I shoot, I don't know.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I started looking at everything. I even looked at marijuana production, right,
- 6:03Speaker 1: I said, well, how much does a cross when you
- 6:05Speaker 1: dudes be growing this stuff? And I called my boys
- 6:07Speaker 1: and said, well how much do you make on this thing?
- 6:10Speaker 1: You know? I called everything I can do? You know?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Was that tied to like just just three or talk?
- 6:17Speaker 1: You know, like when the when the pandemic hit, you know,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I would tell you some man it affected me mentally,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you know, it affected my pocket, but affected me mentally
- 6:26Speaker 1: on how was that? Was it really safe to go
- 6:29Speaker 1: out in the streets, you know? And you know like
- 6:32Speaker 1: saying because I went out there with all the equipment,
- 6:34Speaker 1: because it was in marching, was still cold because I
- 6:35Speaker 1: didn't have a mask. I just put a ski mask
- 6:37Speaker 1: on and uh. And then I went to home depot.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I had my I had my rubber gloves, I had
- 6:43Speaker 1: my pierrel, I had lights al and I had all
- 6:46Speaker 1: this stuff. And I got back to the car. I
- 6:49Speaker 1: didn't I didn't know the protocol. Do I take off
- 6:51Speaker 1: my gloves? Is my stereit WORL gonna be safe? Did
- 6:54Speaker 1: it really get into your head? Was I just want
- 6:56Speaker 1: of those people that just reacted to out of control
- 6:59Speaker 1: about it? Well, it got into my head. But I
- 7:02Speaker 1: am a you know, I look at you know, I'm
- 7:05Speaker 1: almost like a historian. But I said, this is this
- 7:08Speaker 1: is this is happening, this is gonna this is happening.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And so I accepted it, and I stayed at home.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I didn't go anywhere. I said at my age, I
- 7:16Speaker 1: said the thing I'm gonna do, I'm not going anywhere.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'm just gonna stay at home and it mentally mentally
- 7:22Speaker 1: it affected me. It didn't affect me until later, you know,
- 7:25Speaker 1: till later on. So four or five months later, I'm like, man,
- 7:29Speaker 1: what is going on? Man? This could this could endure
- 7:32Speaker 1: for a month. You know. I put my faith into
- 7:36Speaker 1: the American government, the American way of life that we
- 7:40Speaker 1: we can fight anything. We're America. We have enough money
- 7:43Speaker 1: to fight anything. So I said, this Q will be
- 7:47Speaker 1: you know, eradicated. So just hanging there and hanging there
- 7:50Speaker 1: because America was gonna take care of it. But now
- 7:52Speaker 1: we have devicesness, we have political side this diz. So
- 7:58Speaker 1: it's political I which is and which is? You can't
- 8:02Speaker 1: even think about It isn't frustrated. It isn't frustrating. And
- 8:05Speaker 1: that you hear that, and you know, because just that
- 8:09Speaker 1: I try to be honest on my show, are allowed
- 8:11Speaker 1: the interview to go where the interviews are gonna go.
- 8:13Speaker 1: But it is frustrating because we're in an economy that's
- 8:16Speaker 1: tied to unemployment is at a high rate, and you know,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and it affects minorities, are black and brown people at
- 8:23Speaker 1: a at a twice rate. And then you have COVID
- 8:25Speaker 1: ninteen that affects African American community at a high rate.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And then then they tell you that ninety four percent
- 8:31Speaker 1: of the people who have died from COVID ninteen had
- 8:34Speaker 1: preconditioned of pre illnesses. So it's like, okay, you know,
- 8:39Speaker 1: it puts you in a position of who to believe in,
- 8:42Speaker 1: who to trust right and where are you at on
- 8:48Speaker 1: that whole trusting thing, because it does impact how you
- 8:50Speaker 1: move forward as a comedian, as an entertainment, as a businessman. Well,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I don't trust anybody right now. I just trust myself
- 9:00Speaker 1: and not trust. I just had a show I was doing.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I was supposed to do a show a matter of fact,
- 9:04Speaker 1: Labor Day in the land I had, you know, I
- 9:06Speaker 1: sold out shows. But then I was looking at the peak.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I was looking at this disease. I was like, man,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I ain't going I'm not going out there, and so
- 9:15Speaker 1: I canceled it, you know, And so I I haven't
- 9:18Speaker 1: worked yet. I'm gonna work at the end of September.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I said, I'm not gonna work until November. But let
- 9:23Speaker 1: me see. So I don't My thing is this what
- 9:26Speaker 1: I would like. I would like to know what my
- 9:28Speaker 1: chances are. And that's your government should tell you that.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I just you should be able to say, okay, blah
- 9:33Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. But we
- 9:35Speaker 1: don't know, we don't, we don't know. So you have
- 9:38Speaker 1: to trust yourself. You know who you can't I mean
- 9:42Speaker 1: you can't. I don't care who you are. You can't
- 9:44Speaker 1: trust the government. They're not telling me the truth. I mean,
- 9:47Speaker 1: not telling me what I need to know. I'm not
- 9:49Speaker 1: trying to be political, but my guy, I just want
- 9:52Speaker 1: to know how to stay safe. And that's a very
- 9:58Speaker 1: simple request, but somehow they can't get answered. How does
- 10:02Speaker 1: stay safe? Which, in turn, because if you felt safe
- 10:05Speaker 1: for you have felt safer about getting on that airplane,
- 10:08Speaker 1: traveling to getting off that plane and doing five shows
- 10:11Speaker 1: in front of the audience, that exactly, and knowing I
- 10:14Speaker 1: had to call my doctor for the black doctor he's
- 10:17Speaker 1: a black doctor. Emphasize that because if we have more
- 10:20Speaker 1: black doctors, are child instant rate would probably be higher.
- 10:26Speaker 1: You know, we need more black doctors. And he told me,
- 10:30Speaker 1: he said, man, you know, he said to do that.
- 10:34Speaker 1: He said that, man, it's not good to go. So
- 10:37Speaker 1: I said, I'm not going. But if I had some
- 10:40Speaker 1: kind of guideline that I know, you know, some kind
- 10:43Speaker 1: of We don't. We don't have a guideline. If right
- 10:45Speaker 1: now you said you're gonna travel to Louisiana, it ain't
- 10:48Speaker 1: nothing that you can look on and say should I go,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I should not go. There's no guideline. That's that's the
- 10:53Speaker 1: crazy part that scares me. It's really amazing because you know,
- 10:59Speaker 1: stand up comedy is really interesting because we kind of
- 11:02Speaker 1: see everything from a different perspective and just twisted put
- 11:06Speaker 1: I twist them and that that's how and and and
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you, man, just from an outside looking
- 11:12Speaker 1: at you, you've always been uh, a guy that I
- 11:14Speaker 1: always looked back or I would have never thought of
- 11:16Speaker 1: that joke you You've always been one of those I
- 11:19Speaker 1: would have never thought of that joke guy. When I
- 11:21Speaker 1: look at it. That's and that's how I write, suh.
- 11:24Speaker 1: When I write, I don't write. When I write, I
- 11:27Speaker 1: write to jump down. And if it sounds like everybody
- 11:29Speaker 1: else I talked to out, I try to come from
- 11:32Speaker 1: the different. I ain't gonna you know, you know, almost
- 11:35Speaker 1: like an investing I would be the one to invest
- 11:39Speaker 1: in something that somebody said, why are you investing in that?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Why are you investing in the straps that holds a
- 11:44Speaker 1: mask together? Right? No one else is doing that because
- 11:47Speaker 1: no one else is doing right. And so so you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: and I say that, you know because of the fact
- 11:53Speaker 1: that you know you know. But one time I felt
- 11:56Speaker 1: I was one of the top guys out there, and
- 11:58Speaker 1: I come along and I see you, and I still
- 12:01Speaker 1: see you, and I go, what is what? What? What
- 12:04Speaker 1: are you what? I are you looking at stuff through
- 12:06Speaker 1: Mark Curry when you're yeah, what are you know? Like that?
- 12:11Speaker 1: You know what? You know what I'm saying, you know
- 12:13Speaker 1: because of the fact that you know we could, we can,
- 12:15Speaker 1: You're I could walk in the room and uh. One
- 12:17Speaker 1: of the all time you probably remember one of the
- 12:19Speaker 1: all time funny moments I had with you when we
- 12:21Speaker 1: was at Denny's Restaurant and me, you George Wallace and
- 12:24Speaker 1: and we are we're closed down that place, and I
- 12:27Speaker 1: always remember how from an improvisational standpoint, you are incredible,
- 12:33Speaker 1: and I just it is locked in my memory in
- 12:35Speaker 1: Hollywood us just JF it was Jathony Brown, it was you,
- 12:39Speaker 1: it was me, and it was George Wallace and we
- 12:43Speaker 1: left that myth that dinner is at four two o'clock
- 12:45Speaker 1: in the morning, and and and it was just watching
- 12:48Speaker 1: you sit over there, going he's doing stuff I could
- 12:52Speaker 1: not do. I can't because you we're in the same Dennis.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Now we're the same We all even the same food,
- 12:59Speaker 1: but you're looking at it through a different eye, Mark Curry.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Why why why are you looking at it from a
- 13:07Speaker 1: different eye? Well, because of this when I do, when
- 13:12Speaker 1: I do a joke, I don't write the joke. A
- 13:15Speaker 1: lot of guys write the joke and that's why they
- 13:17Speaker 1: a lot of times they jokes don't be funny because
- 13:19Speaker 1: they forced the joke. But what I do is I
- 13:22Speaker 1: researched the joke, and my material is based on if
- 13:26Speaker 1: you see anything I say, it's based on facts and research.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So for example, we're talking about whatever the subject is,
- 13:36Speaker 1: black people and money, Black people and money. Okay, bam,
- 13:42Speaker 1: you will will do the joke because black people, they'll
- 13:44Speaker 1: take black people. I want to realize they've been short
- 13:46Speaker 1: change black people. Come back and how much again? When
- 13:51Speaker 1: I came in the head pointing right, and then I
- 13:55Speaker 1: got chuck for you because I hold him that I
- 13:58Speaker 1: putt st a guy. I'm I'm must I must let
- 14:02Speaker 1: me go back here, but go back? How much with
- 14:04Speaker 1: than not? I much with the cheese? Let me go
- 14:06Speaker 1: stage mat the white person? No instantly, just a minute?
- 14:13Speaker 1: How much the tacks on this? What was the three seventeen?
- 14:17Speaker 1: I had three of them? Right? That should have been
- 14:19Speaker 1: a fortnite. Yeah. I think some somethings are wrong here.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Oh okay, okay, Mark, Okay, that's funny, though it's true.
- 14:35Speaker 1: That's what I'm laughing because again you've taken my engineer.
- 14:39Speaker 1: He laughing too, you know, in the other side of
- 14:41Speaker 1: the room, and he's shaking his head, was laughing because
- 14:44Speaker 1: you know it's true, because it's through that lens that
- 14:47Speaker 1: you are are sitting there and and observing and and that,
- 14:52Speaker 1: like I said, in that Denny's restaurant, you know, we're
- 14:55Speaker 1: all were being served the same food. But I'm just
- 14:57Speaker 1: looking at your craze behind, going how did you see that?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Because when I when I see something, I immediately size
- 15:09Speaker 1: it up as a joke. So I look at it
- 15:11Speaker 1: and I break it down different ways. Yeah, I'm not educated,
- 15:15Speaker 1: but I'm the Internet guy. So if I'm if I'm searching,
- 15:19Speaker 1: if we're talking about money, I'm gonna go on the
- 15:21Speaker 1: internet and and and find facts that I may not
- 15:25Speaker 1: repeat them, but it will help me with my facts.
- 15:27Speaker 1: For example, I'll look up black people and money, the
- 15:31Speaker 1: first Black people with money in eighteen hundreds. And then
- 15:35Speaker 1: I'll look at black institutions, black owned banks, so blood
- 15:39Speaker 1: of the So when I have a prethra of all
- 15:42Speaker 1: kinds of material that I may not use, but at
- 15:46Speaker 1: least my attitude and and what I'm talking about is
- 15:50Speaker 1: based on some kind of facts. And then I'll say
- 15:52Speaker 1: a little fact because you know, black people, we didn't
- 15:54Speaker 1: we didn't have banks back then. What the hell did
- 15:57Speaker 1: we do? We couldn't go to the bank. Think about
- 16:00Speaker 1: about that. Black people can't go to the bank the
- 16:03Speaker 1: nineteen seventy. Think about that nineteen seventy. And when you
- 16:08Speaker 1: walk in the steel that that you crazy because they
- 16:10Speaker 1: look at you crazy. Right now. Don't walk into a
- 16:12Speaker 1: Beverly Hills bank right now, they just get you like
- 16:14Speaker 1: you can we help you? This is the bank, and
- 16:17Speaker 1: that feels that can't be healthy. Imagine banking back then,
- 16:22Speaker 1: banking back then was nine existed. You gave me the the money.
- 16:26Speaker 1: They we don't happen no more? What happened to it?
- 16:28Speaker 1: It's gone. Nothing you can do, do you look at
- 16:32Speaker 1: things kind of thing, nothing you can do. So you know,
- 16:35Speaker 1: that's what my comedy I tried to be. I try
- 16:39Speaker 1: to come from a different angle makes me yeah, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: I try to be agitated. I try not to be stereotypic.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I try not to hurt another race as we're talking about,
- 16:51Speaker 1: because you gotta look at people who pay their money.
- 16:54Speaker 1: White people pay their money, Black people, Filipino, Chinese. If
- 16:58Speaker 1: I want to go to any commedian, don't give who
- 17:00Speaker 1: it is. He said something about some black people, I'm done.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I don't care. I'm just interested in him. I want

- 19:40Speaker 1: platform that I have. Now you know, I've been blessed
- 19:43Speaker 1: because everybody's coming on the show and talking allow me
- 19:47Speaker 1: to just talk and in my conversation, don't have any
- 19:50Speaker 1: agenda tie to other than a conversational bout success, a
- 19:54Speaker 1: conversation about how we approach your way of being an
- 19:57Speaker 1: entrepreneur and making money. And that's what money making conversations
- 20:00Speaker 1: it is all about. Now, you said November you're gonna
- 20:03Speaker 1: get back out there. What is that plan of getting
- 20:05Speaker 1: back out there? Are you? Are you starting to schedule
- 20:08Speaker 1: day or you maybe doing some tours or well, I'm
- 20:11Speaker 1: gonna starty. I'm gonna start. I'm gonna start at a
- 20:13Speaker 1: comedy club that's outside two days at the end of September,
- 20:17Speaker 1: like September twenty six seven time E t s in
- 20:20Speaker 1: um Danville. I think I'm gonna just I'm not gonna
- 20:25Speaker 1: just gonna go up and just I don't know what
- 20:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk about because I don't I don't have
- 20:29Speaker 1: I don't want to talk about this corona. I just don't.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I don't even want to talk about I don't want
- 20:34Speaker 1: to hear that. I want to talk about something socially,
- 20:37Speaker 1: a whole new start. So I'm gonna go in and
- 20:39Speaker 1: get my head right and come up with a whole
- 20:42Speaker 1: new When I say a whole new way of thanking,
- 20:46Speaker 1: for example, presidency, I'm gonna run for presidents, and so
- 20:49Speaker 1: I want you to ask me, what if I'm if
- 20:53Speaker 1: I'm running for presidents asking me the question that you
- 20:55Speaker 1: would ask the president, because I'm gonna I think I'm
- 20:57Speaker 1: gonna do a new special on that. So right now,
- 20:59Speaker 1: this is I'm Mark Curry. I'm here, this is live,
- 21:02Speaker 1: this is non scripted. Mark Mark. I hear you running
- 21:07Speaker 1: for president. I'm just gonna ask you right now. Um um,
- 21:12Speaker 1: some some people don't want to wear a mask? Should
- 21:14Speaker 1: we wear a mask? Mark Curry? Does a mask? Yes, sir?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Does a mask makes it different? Yes? I think a
- 21:22Speaker 1: mask definitely makes it difference. If I was president, everybody
- 21:25Speaker 1: would wear a mask. It's just the way it is.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Even the dogs lose. The animals in the zoo would
- 21:32Speaker 1: wear a mask. Mask would be mandatory. Yes, you got
- 21:35Speaker 1: to wear a mask. I would keep people in I
- 21:38Speaker 1: would keep people in it for another year I was president.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Nobody come out for a year. One year? Okay, Mr, Mr,
- 21:47Speaker 1: Mr President. Not only we wear a mask. Mr, I
- 21:50Speaker 1: apologize you're not president yet, but you're running for president.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Don't want to jump ahead, don't want to jump ahead? Okay? Um.
- 21:57Speaker 1: The vaccine, the vaccine, Okay, it comes out, Will you
- 22:01Speaker 1: be the first in line to take it? No? I
- 22:04Speaker 1: would not we would took those on death row. We
- 22:07Speaker 1: will get those on death rows that have been convicted
- 22:10Speaker 1: of a crime. And we know that that crime. We
- 22:13Speaker 1: know that they did it by video. Now you know
- 22:15Speaker 1: in DNA, we know you did it. You killed six people.
- 22:17Speaker 1: We're about to inject you with the vaccine, sir. And
- 22:21Speaker 1: and when the people protest, let them protest. We want
- 22:23Speaker 1: you to this is terrible. We agree take us to court.
- 22:27Speaker 1: So those on death row would be the first one
- 22:30Speaker 1: to get the vaccine. And it will be on live
- 22:32Speaker 1: video so you can see the reaction of what happened.
- 22:36Speaker 1: So okay, being that you maybe the second black president
- 22:42Speaker 1: of the United States, and we saw how this state,
- 22:47Speaker 1: this country was happy. Then it became angered that there
- 22:51Speaker 1: was a black president. How would you stop this country
- 22:54Speaker 1: from becoming angered by you becoming the second president? Black
- 22:59Speaker 1: president states, I cannot stop this country from being angry.
- 23:03Speaker 1: America was built on anger. If you look at America,
- 23:07Speaker 1: America has been built on anger. Where you know, so
- 23:11Speaker 1: they're gonna be angry at me. Of course they're gonna
- 23:13Speaker 1: be angry at me, but that's nothing I can't I
- 23:16Speaker 1: can't worry about that. I got things that will help healthcare.
- 23:19Speaker 1: For example, when you go to the airport and you
- 23:22Speaker 1: go to the X ray, we'll use those x rays.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Why you gotta go to x rays, you go to
- 23:26Speaker 1: the airport, We're gonna use those X rays to determine
- 23:28Speaker 1: what is wrong with you. So when we're gonna stop
- 23:30Speaker 1: you excuse me? What do that? You found some water?
- 23:33Speaker 1: Now we found the tumor. Step over here, please, you
- 23:36Speaker 1: can't get on this flight. You know, I think the
- 23:38Speaker 1: plane should be Yeah, hospital should be at the airport.
- 23:41Speaker 1: That's what most people are am I right in the
- 23:44Speaker 1: hospital at the airport. Let's be real here the homeless.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Let's look at the homeless. Stop homeless, stop stop you
- 23:56Speaker 1: know the wait a minute, lasting homeless. I could deal
- 24:00Speaker 1: with the homeless. Let them be extras in the movie.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Let him do the same thing they're doing. Walk up.
- 24:05Speaker 1: We don't let them walk around. They can walk around
- 24:07Speaker 1: in the background. Let him get paid it back after
- 24:10Speaker 1: that way they got help. Wake up America. You need
- 24:12Speaker 1: Mark curious President Mark Um, I ain't gonna lie to you,
- 24:17Speaker 1: brother fantastic. That was all the problem. You didn't know
- 24:22Speaker 1: what to ask, You didn't know what question. We didn't prepare.
- 24:24Speaker 1: This is a great coming along and uh, I ask you.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask you something because Bidley Evan's gonna be
- 24:30Speaker 1: managed if I bring you on this show. Don't talk
- 24:31Speaker 1: about in the cut. You know. I know Bentley from
- 24:34Speaker 1: Jamie Fox show was co executive do the show. I
- 24:36Speaker 1: would tell Bentley one of the people who are made
- 24:39Speaker 1: my career, one of the two Ledgpens in my success
- 24:42Speaker 1: story has been in Hollywood. Now you're in the cut.
- 24:45Speaker 1: How did you get How did that opportunity to come
- 24:48Speaker 1: to you and getting into the cast like the Badley
- 24:51Speaker 1: Bentley called my agent, he said, Mark, I will mark
- 24:54Speaker 1: him do this role. I love Bentley. I know Bentley well.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Some of my best work has been with Biley. So
- 25:00Speaker 1: Jamie Fox as Sergeant Easy with Bentley. When I was
- 25:04Speaker 1: on Martin and Martin as a lawyer, that was with Bentley.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So Bidley knows me. He's a he's a genius. And
- 25:11Speaker 1: not only that, he's a great director because he let
- 25:13Speaker 1: you go when you go on is no, he's not
- 25:15Speaker 1: directing you to do this and do that. It's basically
- 25:18Speaker 1: you know you you're an actor and so Billy's an actor, actor, director, director,
- 25:22Speaker 1: which is awesome. So he lets you do your thing,
- 25:25Speaker 1: say what you want. I could do anything I want,
- 25:27Speaker 1: and I love it. In the cut because it was
- 25:30Speaker 1: a character. I play a guy Wade, who's just fresh
- 25:33Speaker 1: out of jail. He just got out of jail for
- 25:35Speaker 1: twenty years. And I get a job at the at
- 25:37Speaker 1: the barber shop with Doria at the door. So this
- 25:41Speaker 1: is so, that's the beautiful when I when I heard
- 25:43Speaker 1: a character like that, I said, I'll take it. And
- 25:46Speaker 1: so and the character I mean, I'm in character. I'm
- 25:49Speaker 1: a method actor, so he doesn't put shoes on. I'm
- 25:52Speaker 1: the only actor who never wore shoes in the scene.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I wore slippers for the whole season. Okay, for the
- 25:59Speaker 1: whole now okay, now, cuttn't haird and jail and cutting't
- 26:04Speaker 1: hair out of jail. It's two different techniques. Because I
- 26:08Speaker 1: have a brother. He did it. He cut my hand
- 26:10Speaker 1: and he gripped my head and go, hey, brother, you
- 26:13Speaker 1: don't have to hurt my head when you cut my head. Okay,
- 26:17Speaker 1: my hand. The jail cut is completely different. It really
- 26:20Speaker 1: can't think the jail jail cut. You ain't got no
- 26:23Speaker 1: marry and you ain't got no you don't get a
- 26:26Speaker 1: chance to see your hair too. Maybe the next day, right,
- 26:30Speaker 1: and they gripped your hard and and they just use
- 26:32Speaker 1: the raise of blade. There you go blade. So so
- 26:38Speaker 1: you get the opportunity to come on in the cut.
- 26:40Speaker 1: You win a director, producer who allows you to be you.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Now how important is that be to trust in your
- 26:48Speaker 1: natural instinct somebody allowing them to trust you? Because Mark,
- 26:50Speaker 1: you know, it's a stand up you. You've had to
- 26:53Speaker 1: trust yourself all these years, you know, all the way
- 26:55Speaker 1: from well, one thing about Billy. Billy knows he knows
- 26:58Speaker 1: the acting. He knows it. And so when you a
- 27:01Speaker 1: lot of times I go on shows, I don't want
- 27:03Speaker 1: to say, but you know these shows, I think I
- 27:05Speaker 1: know funny, but then they think they know funny. To Mark,
- 27:08Speaker 1: can you just shay it with h more urgency place?
- 27:13Speaker 1: You know? Mark? Uh say apple and you say apple?
- 27:17Speaker 1: You said apple. It's apple. It's just one apple? Thank you? Okay, boy?
- 27:24Speaker 1: You know, And so that that that rack drives me
- 27:27Speaker 1: crazy because I'm American. I think I'm funny, and I think,
- 27:30Speaker 1: you know, I think I know what's funny. You know,
- 27:33Speaker 1: I helped the show in the syndication. So but that,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know, so as an actor, bently let you do
- 27:39Speaker 1: your thing. And then working with Dorian and Khalita, they
- 27:42Speaker 1: they're just beautiful people. During is nice. He's cool and
- 27:48Speaker 1: so it ain't no tripping, and he's funny and you know,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and he and he taught me things. He said, you know, Mark,
- 27:55Speaker 1: because it was my first time on the set, so
- 27:57Speaker 1: you're always in the teaching mode. So Dorian help me out.
- 28:00Speaker 1: So he was the o G on the set, teaching me,
- 28:03Speaker 1: you know, what to do with the stand. Come over here, Mark,
- 28:06Speaker 1: you know that does say that, you know, you know that,
- 28:09Speaker 1: you know, teaching me a lottle history. So that was awesome.
- 28:11Speaker 1: And Kalidas from Oakland, so she gave me the warmth
- 28:14Speaker 1: of just just the warmth on the set. A lot
- 28:16Speaker 1: of times you're gonna set, they'd be funky that you
- 28:18Speaker 1: underset like boy, So just the warmth of these actors,
- 28:23Speaker 1: you know, to do this And this is on our
- 28:25Speaker 1: every Wednesday on the Bounce Network called in the cut,
- 28:29Speaker 1: in the cut, in the cut, he's uh, he's after
- 28:32Speaker 1: twenty years have been in jail, he steps out a
- 28:35Speaker 1: job and this is and this character is funny. It's
- 28:39Speaker 1: so funny. You know, I think it's very funny. I
- 28:41Speaker 1: think that's why I want the people to watch, because
- 28:43Speaker 1: we need to laugh, right. Bounce TV is giving you
- 28:46Speaker 1: the opportunity to It's free TV because black people and
- 28:49Speaker 1: we're laughing and we ain't hurting nobody, and that's the
- 28:52Speaker 1: funny thing. And it's new. A lot of TV you
- 28:55Speaker 1: see ain't new. You know, you don't see a lot
- 28:57Speaker 1: of new TV. So that's that's true. When you gotta
- 29:03Speaker 1: shoot the series. When was this shot? We thought it
- 29:07Speaker 1: in December, Okay, So y'all got the name before pre Covid.
- 29:12Speaker 1: It's pre Covid and it's funny, and it's new, and
- 29:15Speaker 1: it's black people, and it's dealer with different issues and
- 29:18Speaker 1: it's I think it's great. I never saw it, so
- 29:20Speaker 1: I haven't seen an episode, so I'm excite me, you know.
- 29:24Speaker 1: And I love Bound TV because it's all black. I
- 29:28Speaker 1: have one TV in my house dedicated about because twenty
- 29:31Speaker 1: four hours a day it's black. So you get two
- 29:33Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning, you may see, you know, a
- 29:35Speaker 1: black movie that you ain't seen. Oh man, I ain't
- 29:37Speaker 1: seen that movie a long time. So I love a bountet.
- 29:40Speaker 1: The win win, win win. I'll tell you what it's
- 29:43Speaker 1: a win. When um, hey, Mark, when you come back
- 29:46Speaker 1: on my show, brother, you know, when we get out
- 29:47Speaker 1: of this, I'll tell you Mark everything I'm saying. I'm
- 29:51Speaker 1: saying from an honest standpoint. Brother, Um you are you
- 29:55Speaker 1: are brilliant, man, You are brilliant. Um. I want to
- 30:00Speaker 1: give me, give me a topic, give me a topic
- 30:02Speaker 1: to go. I'm gonna leave on that. Kick your topic.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something funny. I like to be
- 30:07Speaker 1: off the cup. Come on, Car Curry, current off the
- 30:12Speaker 1: closing out the show, mighty making conversations, Mark Curry. Um,
- 30:17Speaker 1: I want to let you know is that, Uh, can
- 30:19Speaker 1: I trust mail in voting? Can you trust mail in voting?
- 30:25Speaker 1: You can't trust any voting. You can't trust anything in America,
- 30:29Speaker 1: So you can't trust. Black people should take that word
- 30:31Speaker 1: trust out of their vocabulary. No black person in America
- 30:35Speaker 1: should say the word trust in any situation. No trust. No,
- 30:39Speaker 1: you can't trust anything mail in voting. It's all gonna
- 30:44Speaker 1: be stagnant if you talk about mail in voting. Remember
- 30:46Speaker 1: the dimple Chad in Florida. Remember that you haul truck,
- 30:51Speaker 1: You haul truck, got missing the Wake up, America, Wake up,
- 30:55Speaker 1: Wake up, wake up right, and I want I want
- 30:59Speaker 1: to ask you this, and what is the best food
- 31:01Speaker 1: to eat during the pandemic? Where's the best food? Deed?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Best food to eat doing the pandemic? And soul food
- 31:08Speaker 1: black soul food because it stays in your stomach seven days.
- 31:12Speaker 1: It gives you everything you need. It gives you fat,
- 31:15Speaker 1: it gives you sugar. Just in case something to go down.
- 31:18Speaker 1: You can take a soul food plate and a sola
- 31:20Speaker 1: food plate. What will outlast anything? You a soul food
- 31:27Speaker 1: food plate with no heat and just sitting out there
- 31:30Speaker 1: with last two weeks and you know it will And
- 31:32Speaker 1: that macaronian cheese is still good. So much gravy hide
- 31:37Speaker 1: you almost starting laughing. That's right. That's why. That's why
- 31:42Speaker 1: black people dog die high blood pressure because they eat
- 31:45Speaker 1: what we eat. Black people dog don't die long, don't
- 31:47Speaker 1: last long. White people be having dogs for forty three years.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I had this dog, ain't chicks and seven black people,
- 31:53Speaker 1: and what happened to Lucky? He died two summers ago.
- 31:55Speaker 1: You know why because he just saved them scraped the
- 31:58Speaker 1: dog had high blood pressures day the dog And that's
- 32:08Speaker 1: you have black people dogs marking in the backyard all
- 32:10Speaker 1: the time, marking that nothing I need some water knocked
