- 2:05Speaker 1: Y'all listening to the voice, come on now dig if
- 2:10Speaker 1: you will want and only Steve Harvey got radio show. Okay,
- 2:15Speaker 1: sure'n be honest with y'all. Was rushing rushing this morning.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So but that's what it takes. Sometimes Sometimes you have
- 2:27Speaker 1: to put forth a different kind of effort, you know.
- 2:32Speaker 1: One of the things about being successful. And I was
- 2:36Speaker 1: sharing this just the other day with a young man
- 2:41Speaker 1: and he asked me. He said, hey, man, I just
- 2:46Speaker 1: don't see how you get up that early in the morning.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I just don't see how man, it would it would
- 2:53Speaker 1: kill me to get up this early in the morning. Well,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I sat there and I'm listening to it because it's
- 2:59Speaker 1: just a thousand times I've heard it, you know, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: my life is, you know, not too different from a
- 3:04Speaker 1: lot of people's lives. There's a lot of people out
- 3:07Speaker 1: there that rise early. And I guess I don't know.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I don't know what he wanted from me or how
- 3:12Speaker 1: he wanted me to take what he said. But I
- 3:14Speaker 1: just sat there, you know, just indifferent to the tones
- 3:16Speaker 1: because I've heard it so many times. I don't know
- 3:18Speaker 1: how you get up that early anymore. I don't know
- 3:20Speaker 1: how you do all them jobs. And I just sit there, man,
- 3:23Speaker 1: because I remember, first of all, I'm grateful to be
- 3:26Speaker 1: able to have a job. I'm so grateful to be
- 3:28Speaker 1: able to do one and several that I happened to
- 3:31Speaker 1: enjoy doing. I mean, you know, it's work, and it's
- 3:34Speaker 1: difficult at times, but it's I mean, you know I
- 3:38Speaker 1: wanted this. You know, you gotta you know, you can't
- 3:40Speaker 1: ask God for an He give it to you. Didn't
- 3:42Speaker 1: be mad that you got it, don't make no sense.
- 3:44Speaker 1: You know you're asking for something, Me give it to you.
- 3:47Speaker 1: The problem with asking God for stuff is a lot
- 3:50Speaker 1: of times we're asking for stuff we don't really know
- 3:52Speaker 1: what all it encompasses, what all it really is. And
- 3:55Speaker 1: I asked for this. Now along the way I've gotten
- 3:58Speaker 1: far more than I asked for. I want you to do.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Understand that, and um, you know that's that's his grace
- 4:05Speaker 1: at work in my life. But I get up early
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I go to work because I do understand something
- 4:11Speaker 1: that it is not walking up to you. Nobody walks
- 4:14Speaker 1: up to people normally and just hand them checks all
- 4:18Speaker 1: the time, and enough checks to sustain your life, and
- 4:22Speaker 1: not only sustain it, but to have a life that
- 4:24Speaker 1: where you could enjoy and do some of the things
- 4:27Speaker 1: you want to do. That's I don't know the person
- 4:30Speaker 1: that walks out hands out that money just to be
- 4:32Speaker 1: doing it. And then with a lifestyle though, where you
- 4:35Speaker 1: can you know, give your kids a Christmas, you know,
- 4:38Speaker 1: take your family on vacation, you know, a year once
- 4:41Speaker 1: a year. I don't know. Nobody passed not to kind
- 4:43Speaker 1: of money. So I get up early in the morning.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I get at it. I was taught to get up
- 4:48Speaker 1: early in the morning by my father because my father says,
- 4:54Speaker 1: ain't none gonna come to you. Why are you laying now?
- 4:56Speaker 1: And you know what, it's just true, man, it's just
- 4:59Speaker 1: a little common sense. Look, old people smart man, they've
- 5:02Speaker 1: been around long time. You don't get you know, some
- 5:04Speaker 1: old foods out there, but you know you don't have
- 5:06Speaker 1: to deal with them. But the old people are pretty
- 5:08Speaker 1: smart man. They've learned a lot along the way. And
- 5:11Speaker 1: waking up early and getting out of it is one
- 5:13Speaker 1: of them things. And I ask everybody man to think
- 5:15Speaker 1: about this scenario of your life. I just want you
- 5:18Speaker 1: to just I want to show you some numbers. If
- 5:21Speaker 1: a day has twenty four hours in it, and let's
- 5:24Speaker 1: just say you choose to sleep eight of those hours
- 5:28Speaker 1: because they tell you you need eight hours sleep, so
- 5:32Speaker 1: you sleep eight hours, that's a third of your life asleep. Already,
- 5:37Speaker 1: just a third of your life is spent asleep. If
- 5:41Speaker 1: you're gonna do eight hours a day, you understand that
- 5:44Speaker 1: a third of your life is spent asleep. Now, let's
- 5:49Speaker 1: say you have a job that you work eight hours
- 5:52Speaker 1: and it's not the job of your dreams. It's not
- 5:53Speaker 1: your dream career, your dream profession. It's just the one
- 5:57Speaker 1: you took, like all of us to get it started.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And then, like all of us, some of us end
- 6:02Speaker 1: up having to stay there because we've created these bills,
- 6:05Speaker 1: and we can't because we check the check. So we
- 6:07Speaker 1: can't leave it because we'll lose what what we've worked for.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So let's just say you got a job that you
- 6:13Speaker 1: go to work too for eight hours. That's another third
- 6:17Speaker 1: of your life. That's two thirds of your life spent
- 6:22Speaker 1: doing something. How do I put this to you? Oh,
- 6:28Speaker 1: let's all right, like Steve, just leave it that that's
- 6:30Speaker 1: two thirds of your life. Feel how you want to
- 6:32Speaker 1: feel about your two thirds when I like sleep? Okay, cool,
- 6:35Speaker 1: that's a scripture about that too. But now you spent
- 6:38Speaker 1: two thirds of your life want on a job you
- 6:40Speaker 1: don't care for if you're not happy there, or one
- 6:42Speaker 1: that just pays the bills and it's not your dream
- 6:45Speaker 1: job of career. Another third of your life is sleep.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Oh now, let's hold on. Let's talk about the one
- 6:49Speaker 1: hour of preparation that it may take to get to
- 6:53Speaker 1: the job. Let's just say you wake up, you know,
- 6:56Speaker 1: brush your teeth, shower or have a little breakfast, get dressed.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Let's just say that's an hour. So now we're talking
- 7:02Speaker 1: sixteen hours, eight hours sleep, eight hours on your job.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That's sixteen hours. You got already time one hour. That's
- 7:11Speaker 1: seventeen hours. Let's say your drive time, let's say getting
- 7:14Speaker 1: to your job, for the average person, is anywhere between
- 7:18Speaker 1: thirty two an hour. That's an average of what it
- 7:21Speaker 1: takes the average person. Now some people out there hustling
- 7:23Speaker 1: the way harder than that, but let's just say your
- 7:26Speaker 1: average is an hour getting to work. You had another
- 7:29Speaker 1: hour to that going to work. You've now spent eighteen
- 7:34Speaker 1: hours out of the twenty four doing something that's either nonproductive,
- 7:41Speaker 1: you're not happy with, you're not pleased about. It is
- 7:44Speaker 1: not your dream job, it's not your dream profession. And
- 7:46Speaker 1: the rest of the time you sleep. Eighteen hours that's
- 7:50Speaker 1: going to work. Now you gotta come from the job,
- 7:52Speaker 1: so let's just say it's another hour to get back home.
- 7:55Speaker 1: That's nineteen hours. Nineteen hours out of a twenty four
- 7:57Speaker 1: hour day. A third of it you've been asleep, a
- 8:00Speaker 1: third of it you've been on the job that you're
- 8:01Speaker 1: not happy with. You took an hour to get ready
- 8:04Speaker 1: to go to the job that you're not happy with.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That you've just been a third of your life sleeping
- 8:07Speaker 1: to get ready for. You spend an hour getting there
- 8:10Speaker 1: and you spend an hour getting back. That's nineteen hours
- 8:12Speaker 1: out of twenty four hours. You now have five hours
- 8:15Speaker 1: left in your day. Oh, you watch TV two times,
- 8:19Speaker 1: two hours a day. Okay, excuse me. Let's put now
- 8:22Speaker 1: you put two hours of TV on that you've just
- 8:24Speaker 1: been twenty one. You now have three hours in the
- 8:28Speaker 1: day to do something super productive for the development of
- 8:33Speaker 1: yourself and the future of your family, and your future
- 8:37Speaker 1: as a person and what you can provide for your family. Oh,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I need to chill, I need to smoke one. Oh
- 8:48Speaker 1: I needed some time a happy hour. Seemed like all
- 8:51Speaker 1: I do is dry to work and go to work.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna go out with the fellas drink one. Okay,
- 8:58Speaker 1: Let's say you spend two hours at happy Nobody go
- 9:01Speaker 1: to a happy hour just for a hour. Let's say
- 9:03Speaker 1: he's been two hours and happy hour all smoking, awesome
- 9:06Speaker 1: video games and throw that in there. Two hours of smoking, chilling,
- 9:09Speaker 1: reading the paper, video games. That's twenty three hours of
- 9:13Speaker 1: your day going. Don't you see how your day slips
- 9:15Speaker 1: away from you? So why would you get up early?
- 9:20Speaker 1: You get up early to get a jump, You get
- 9:23Speaker 1: up early to produce, to plan, to become productive. You
- 9:28Speaker 1: get up early in the morning to care about every
- 9:31Speaker 1: single minute of your day. You wake up early in
- 9:33Speaker 1: the morning because you have a plan, a mission, You
- 9:37Speaker 1: have something you want to accomplish. So you wake up early,
- 9:40Speaker 1: and you as the earlier you get up, the more
- 9:43Speaker 1: time you have just for you to devote to your plan.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You map it out, you make some sense, some emails,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you do some Google searches, whatever it is you need
- 9:52Speaker 1: to do to get your dream under way. Then you
- 9:56Speaker 1: go get ready, Then you get in your car and
- 9:58Speaker 1: go to work. Then you go to your job. But
- 10:01Speaker 1: on your job, instead of sitting at your lunch break
- 10:03Speaker 1: messing around with a bunch of people laughing and talking
- 10:06Speaker 1: about nothing, playing dominoes, why don't you take that hour
- 10:09Speaker 1: to do some more research, to do some more Google it,
- 10:12Speaker 1: to send out some more emails, to put some feelers
- 10:15Speaker 1: out there, to see what can get you in the
- 10:18Speaker 1: place that you want to be. Then when you get off,
- 10:21Speaker 1: instead of driving straight home, why don't you go somewhere
- 10:24Speaker 1: in a meeting, you know, take in a session with
- 10:26Speaker 1: some people in a positive mental state. Some people are
- 10:29Speaker 1: doing you know, self help groups or a group of
- 10:31Speaker 1: people that get together network for business. Why don't you
- 10:34Speaker 1: take that two hours and devote that to that business
- 10:37Speaker 1: idea you got. No human being has more than twenty
- 10:41Speaker 1: four hours a day, including myself, But if you care
- 10:45Speaker 1: about every single minute of that day, you'd be amazed
- 10:49Speaker 1: at how much you could get accomplished in a twenty
- 10:52Speaker 1: four hour day. But you can't get none of that
- 10:55Speaker 1: happening because you sleep. Ladies and gentlemen, we are here today,
- 11:04Speaker 1: gathered for the radio show. This is not a game.
- 11:08Speaker 1: This is a contest. Anybody can win it. You can
- 11:12Speaker 1: get your own blue ribbon. Step right up, one, all
- 11:16Speaker 1: for one? All ye who come? You are blue ribbon candidates.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Welcome to the Steve Harvey Contest. What do you want
- 11:26Speaker 1: a blue ribbon in today? That's the question, Shirley, what
- 11:30Speaker 1: do you think you could qualify to get a blue
- 11:32Speaker 1: ribbon in just the way I do the show, the
- 11:35Speaker 1: way I run the show? Carla? What do you think
- 11:37Speaker 1: you could get a blue ribbon in the way I
- 11:40Speaker 1: direct the show? Now let's begin the ignorance, Junior, what
- 11:46Speaker 1: do you think you could get a blue ribbon? I
- 11:48Speaker 1: could get a blue ribbon in animal sound? He see that?
- 11:59Speaker 1: Let the jay? What do you think you could get
- 12:03Speaker 1: a blue ribbon in ignorance from nowhere when you don't
- 12:07Speaker 1: think it's coming straight at it, ignorance out of nowhere. Nephew, Tommy,
- 12:14Speaker 1: share with us what you could get a blue ribbon
- 12:18Speaker 1: in that you have probably already had thousands the seriousness
- 12:23Speaker 1: of stupidity. I bring it to a whole another lovel.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I just have to say one thing, seriously, Junior, I
- 12:31Speaker 1: take offense with what you did, because on the show
- 12:35Speaker 1: I do animal noises. I do animal You can't change
- 12:44Speaker 1: your handswer you you don't do you don't do but
- 12:47Speaker 1: one he doesn't do animal noises, animal noises on the show. Okay,
- 12:54Speaker 1: stop stop stop stop stop. Surely do a kangaroo. What
- 13:03Speaker 1: happened to this Canady? Okay, Shirley do a gorilla? Oh? Okay, okay, okay, okay,
- 13:16Speaker 1: Shirley not do a chimpaze. She's good at that, man,
- 13:26Speaker 1: She's really good. That was Caesar. Who was that? Who
- 13:30Speaker 1: was that? Shelly? Yeah? That was Shirley man, that was
- 13:34Speaker 1: that was her best one watched her kills. Do a dog, Shirley? Uh? Okay, Shirley,
- 13:49Speaker 1: Sherley do a sheep? Okay, Sherley Sherley, Sheley do bigs
- 14:07Speaker 1: just had a spell. It don't sound like I don't know,
- 14:11Speaker 1: like I didn't just pronounced the words. Sounds like we'll
- 14:27Speaker 1: be back. Most Shirley sounds right after all Morning to Talent,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and we didn't even know she did animals sound to
- 14:39Speaker 1: the jungle when we come back. You're listening to Steve
- 14:45Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, it is time for something funny. Juniors,
- 14:49Speaker 1: truth be told. You were up? What you got junior? Um, Shirley, Um,

- 26:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna be that to your pet? Okay, you look
- 26:35Speaker 1: at I want you to take my name, my name down,
- 26:37Speaker 1: so you don't know who you're waiting on. You got you?
- 26:40Speaker 1: You said your name was chicken or something like. Do
- 26:43Speaker 1: you have a pen? I don't need no pump? Okay
- 26:46Speaker 1: you do? Do you want to know who this is? Is?
- 26:48Speaker 1: You canna tell me who you was, homeboy? I ain't
- 26:52Speaker 1: told you my full name, Trump, I don't need to
- 26:54Speaker 1: know you name. You got my number? Calling about the
- 26:59Speaker 1: chat tool, stomach or something. It's muscles. It's this muscles
- 27:03Speaker 1: of your stomach on my wife phone. Did you look
- 27:07Speaker 1: at the other puls How many sit ups do you
- 27:10Speaker 1: be doing? Did you look at the other pictures? What other? Okay?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Hey man, man, hey man, I'm not gonna be playing
- 27:16Speaker 1: with you by my wife. Man, I ain't playing with you.
- 27:18Speaker 1: I'm playing with your wife. Okay, Okay, I'm gonna tell
- 27:22Speaker 1: you something about your wife. I'm gonna tell you something
- 27:24Speaker 1: about your wife that you don't know. If I don't
- 27:26Speaker 1: know it, don't know somebody else know it? Oh? I
- 27:28Speaker 1: know it. Me and her know it because I just
- 27:31Speaker 1: got off the phone with her. Don't want to know? You?
- 27:33Speaker 1: Want me tell you what your wife told me. I'm
- 27:36Speaker 1: gonna say this right here. I'm gonna say this punk.
- 27:39Speaker 1: This is Nephew Timmy from the Steve Harvey Mornings. Your
- 27:42Speaker 1: your wife or Yanna? Got me to pray phone your
- 27:46Speaker 1: ignorant man? How stupid are you? Hello? This is Nephew
- 27:57Speaker 1: timming Man from the Steve Harvey Morning. Your your I've
- 28:00Speaker 1: got me to prank phone call you? Do you? Damn you?
- 28:04Speaker 1: You are more ignorant than me? Lord? Yeah, I got
- 28:18Speaker 1: oh hey trouble. I got to ask you this bag
- 28:22Speaker 1: answer this question for me? What is what is the
- 28:24Speaker 1: baddest and I mean the baddest radio show in the land,
- 28:28Speaker 1: the only one with nephew to you that. Oh man,
- 28:36Speaker 1: I ain't trailed. Man, you'd be easy man, go light
- 28:38Speaker 1: on on y'all. All right, I'm Steve Harbor. I say, y'all,
- 28:44Speaker 1: don't never send nobody anybody? Am I the only person
- 28:48Speaker 1: on this show? And send somebody some pictures? Yeah? What
- 28:54Speaker 1: kind of what do you say my name for? I'm
- 28:58Speaker 1: just asking you not call a bust a window. You
- 29:08Speaker 1: ain't no saying no pictures called to you? Who? No?
- 29:12Speaker 1: Let me tell you all. One time caller was coming
- 29:15Speaker 1: down the hallway and I didn't know who to do was.
- 29:18Speaker 1: He was walking towards Carlin when he saw he turned
- 29:21Speaker 1: around and started running. So we can stop all this allegit,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I asked you not to tell all this information. Don't
- 29:30Speaker 1: break out running when you see a woman and you're like,
- 29:33Speaker 1: legitly she stands by allegedly let this He wasn't allegedly running,
- 29:43Speaker 1: as actually broke out to answer your question. If you
- 29:51Speaker 1: know I have not sent my husband pictures? No, I
- 29:54Speaker 1: don't do that. Why I need to send them pictures.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He can see it. No, Tommy Caine ask you that,
- 30:03Speaker 1: because you're stupid enough to answer that was gonna be good.
- 30:08Speaker 1: That was gonna be good. All right. Coming up at
- 30:11Speaker 1: the top of the hour, we gotta go. Yeah. Oprah
- 30:14Speaker 1: explains why she will not respond to Donald Trump or Monique.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Right after this is your boy James and a round
- 30:22Speaker 1: for the Steve hobb In Morning Show talking to you
- 30:25Speaker 1: about Headlina Taco Tuesday going down at the j st,
- 30:29Speaker 1: Los Angeles, California. That's Headlina Taco Tuesday at the Jay Spot,
- 30:33Speaker 1: Los Angeles, California. Is a event. Right you're listening to
- 30:38Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Opra explains why she will
- 30:44Speaker 1: not respond to Monique or Donald Trump. Uh. We all
- 30:47Speaker 1: know that Monique has taken jabs at oh and even
- 30:49Speaker 1: claims that she was blacklisted in the industry thanks to Oprah,
- 30:53Speaker 1: Ly Daniels and Tyler Perry. Uh. Then Donald Trump, our President,
- 30:56Speaker 1: tried to come for her by calling her insecure in
- 30:59Speaker 1: a recent tweet. Yet Oprah remains unbothered and takes the
- 31:03Speaker 1: high road. Well. Here, take a listen to Oprah explaining
- 31:06Speaker 1: to the interviewer from Global Blunt Global grind that she
- 31:10Speaker 1: does not address negativity. You're taking the high road on
- 31:13Speaker 1: so many different levels, and people say negative things about you. Trump, Uh,
- 31:17Speaker 1: Monique is is in the media right now. Why do
- 31:20Speaker 1: you continue to take the high road? Why don't you
- 31:22Speaker 1: address it face? Oh my gosh, you because it's impossible.
- 31:25Speaker 1: It's a law that if you meet negative with negative,
- 31:28Speaker 1: you will just have a combusted negative force and negative energy.
- 31:33Speaker 1: You can't meet negative energy where it is. You have
- 31:36Speaker 1: to rise above it, you have to transcend it. You
- 31:38Speaker 1: have to be the light. And it only takes a
- 31:40Speaker 1: little bit of light to banish the darkness. It takes
- 31:43Speaker 1: a lot of darkness to overcome the light, but it
- 31:47Speaker 1: takes just a little bit of light. And we are
- 31:49Speaker 1: warriors of the light. So I would never stoop to
- 31:51Speaker 1: try to meet somebody where they are negatively. Don't care
- 31:55Speaker 1: who they are, boom, drop them stuff. It really is,
- 32:04Speaker 1: that's that's really. It only takes a little bit of
- 32:08Speaker 1: light to banish the darkness, to get rid of some
- 32:14Speaker 1: light that we don't do that on this show, But
- 32:17Speaker 1: then we won't be eating. But what she's saying is
- 32:22Speaker 1: definitely But are they gonna come back and say something
- 32:26Speaker 1: against that though, Yeah she don't care. Yeah, ain't gonna
- 32:33Speaker 1: miss it. You know. Um, you know what Oprah saying
- 32:36Speaker 1: is what I try to do. I'm not successful at
- 32:41Speaker 1: that oftentimes, and I think I'm gonna have to work
- 32:44Speaker 1: harder at that because that's absolutely some solid advice right there.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I mean, because it only takes a little bit of
- 32:51Speaker 1: light to banish the darkness. If you're in the pitch
- 32:54Speaker 1: black cave and you light a candle, hey man, you
- 32:59Speaker 1: got I'm going on here. But if you got a candle,
- 33:04Speaker 1: as somebody come with the pitch black cave, you still
- 33:07Speaker 1: got a candle, You still got some light. You just
- 33:11Speaker 1: got a lot of darkness out there, but that light
- 33:13Speaker 1: is still what it is. And that's that's an excellent thing, man,
- 33:19Speaker 1: that I've got to work harder on myself, not meeting
- 33:23Speaker 1: all people where they are, you know, when they come
- 33:26Speaker 1: at me negatively, because you can't combat it like that.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It's darkness and darkness. It's just more dark That's really
- 33:33Speaker 1: that's a great analogy. I needed to hear that. You
- 33:36Speaker 1: need to hear that from Oprah. Taking it's basically taking
- 33:38Speaker 1: the high road, guys. Well, I got a quick calling
- 33:40Speaker 1: it the high road because I don't like that analogy
- 33:42Speaker 1: don't work for me because I don't get damn about
- 33:45Speaker 1: high road. What's the same philosophy, Steve. Well, no, it's
- 33:49Speaker 1: not because I don't accept it that way. Or we're
- 33:51Speaker 1: driving down here now, okay, cool? Yeah, yeah, see high
- 33:57Speaker 1: road ain't ain't don't work for me. But light analogy
- 34:01Speaker 1: works for me because you know what, you know, everybody
- 34:03Speaker 1: has to hear things a different way. Yeah, to receive it,
- 34:08Speaker 1: you know what I mean, You know, like you castor
- 34:11Speaker 1: all is trifle it But if you put it with
- 34:13Speaker 1: a couple of things, you might can take it. You know,
- 34:16Speaker 1: you might can take it. But cast off to see
- 34:20Speaker 1: high road. High road don't really work for me sometime
- 34:23Speaker 1: because I just go, oh, I'm sorry, we're driving down here.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Like then I just get out here and where we
- 34:37Speaker 1: drive exactly. But I think I think using that light
- 34:41Speaker 1: analogy will help me a great deal. We'll take it
- 34:44Speaker 1: to the light, Steve. She's here, ladies and gentlemen, she's here,
- 34:48Speaker 1: ms and trip. Thank you very much, everybody. Good morning, everybody.
- 34:52Speaker 1: This is answered for the news. Young immigrants are breathing
- 34:54Speaker 1: a little easier this morning thanks to yesterday's Supreme Court
- 34:57Speaker 1: decision not to hear the Trump administration's latest appeal of
- 35:00Speaker 1: a lower court injunction one that blocks the new administration
- 35:03Speaker 1: from getting rid of the doctor program next week. That
- 35:06Speaker 1: was a former President Obama's way of shielding people brought
- 35:08Speaker 1: here illegally as little children from being deported. Some seven
- 35:11Speaker 1: hundred thousand young people currently covered by DOCCA, but the
- 35:14Speaker 1: program can accept new applications for now. However, it still
- 35:18Speaker 1: remains in legal limbo unless the Congress acts to make
- 35:20Speaker 1: Dreamer's status permanent. President Trump had set March five as
- 35:24Speaker 1: the end date for the doctor program. Meanwhile, the High
- 35:26Speaker 1: Court also consider in case that could end up gutting
- 35:29Speaker 1: public sector unions, the justices deciding whether people who are
- 35:32Speaker 1: working in union shots but who don't want to join
- 35:34Speaker 1: the union should be forced to pay dues anyway to
- 35:37Speaker 1: cover the cost of collective bargaining since they benefit from
- 35:40Speaker 1: the union work anyway. President Trump met with the nation's
- 35:43Speaker 1: governors yesterday, Democrat and Republican, saying the nation needs more
- 35:47Speaker 1: quote mental institutions. Very very critical. He was of the
- 35:49Speaker 1: law enforcers at Parkland, Florida, for not doing more to
- 35:52Speaker 1: apprehend the high school shooter in the months before the attack.
- 35:55Speaker 1: He was also especially upset of the sheriff's deputy who
- 35:57Speaker 1: remained outside the school while the murders were under because
- 36:01Speaker 1: even though Mr Trump never served in the nation's armed forces,
- 36:04Speaker 1: Trump says he would have been heroic. You don't know
- 36:09Speaker 1: until you're tested. But I think I really believe I'd
- 36:12Speaker 1: run in there even if I didn't have a weapon,
- 36:14Speaker 1: and I think most of the people in this room
- 36:16Speaker 1: would have done that too, That's what he said. Trump
- 36:18Speaker 1: still thinks there should be more guns though in the
- 36:20Speaker 1: nation's schools. We have to take steps to harden our
- 36:24Speaker 1: schools so that they're less vulnerable to attack. This includes
- 36:28Speaker 1: allowing well trained and certified school personnel to carry concealed firearm.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Majort Marjorie Stoneman in Douglas High School, by the Way,
- 36:36Speaker 1: reopens tomorrow for the first time since the Valentinian's Day
- 36:38Speaker 1: massacre that took place there. Sad news, Bill Cosby has
- 36:41Speaker 1: lost another child, this time his daughter and So, who
- 36:43Speaker 1: was only forty four years old, and his cause of
- 36:45Speaker 1: death not officially mentioned, but TMZ, which made the announcement,
- 36:49Speaker 1: says she had a history of medical problems and may
- 36:51Speaker 1: have been awaiting a kidney transplant. Bill Cosby's son in
- 36:54Speaker 1: as you may remember, was murdered in by a Russian
- 36:58Speaker 1: immigrant who tried to rob him as he was changing
- 37:00Speaker 1: a tire on his car on a lonely California road.
- 37:03Speaker 1: The disgraced acting comedian now has three remaining children, daughters Aaron,
- 37:07Speaker 1: Evan and Erica. Finally, though today is National Creative Romance Day,
- 37:12Speaker 1: please please please please, oh stop that. We'll be back
- 37:18Speaker 1: with more entertainment in today's trending topics. Twenty minutes after
- 37:21Speaker 1: the hour on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening
- 37:24Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Show. Chris Brown is allegedly upset
- 37:29Speaker 1: about a joke that Chris Rock told on his new
- 37:32Speaker 1: Netflix special Tambourine. I have not seen it yet, you guys.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Have you guys seen this yet? Insiders say that Rock
- 37:41Speaker 1: has no intention on apologizing to Chris. Rock explains to
- 37:46Speaker 1: his audience the annoyance of being forced by a judge
- 37:50Speaker 1: to take pictures of his children's bedrooms and the food
- 37:53Speaker 1: in his fridge in order to prove he's a fit guardian.
- 37:57Speaker 1: What have you heard about me? What have you heard
- 37:59Speaker 1: of about me? Chris Rock says I'm Chris Rock, not
- 38:03Speaker 1: Chris Brown. Sourists and Chris Brown's camp said that Brown
- 38:06Speaker 1: feels like Rock made a cheap comment about Brown not
- 38:10Speaker 1: being a good father, which couldn't be further from the truth.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Brown can take a good joke, but he felt that
- 38:16Speaker 1: Chris Rock attacking his parenting was taking it too far.
- 38:20Speaker 1: What do you think, Steve Well, I mean, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 1: I can't tell Chris Brown how to feel or what
- 38:27Speaker 1: you're nothing to do. Though, see dudes like Rock as
- 38:31Speaker 1: your pale. This is where they work. They got no shows,
- 38:37Speaker 1: they ain't gotta protecting, no brand. They brand is that
- 38:42Speaker 1: So it's very different. So I mean, you know, I
- 38:46Speaker 1: understand Chris Brown because Chris Brown is probably a great,
- 38:49Speaker 1: great parent man. He probably is, you know, And so
- 38:54Speaker 1: I don't I don't know if he see I didn't
- 38:56Speaker 1: hear the joke, So I mean, he takes the special
- 38:59Speaker 1: but I heard the joke. The joke was saying. He
- 39:02Speaker 1: was talking about he had to prove that he was
- 39:04Speaker 1: a fit guardian because of his divorce and the child
- 39:07Speaker 1: support issues and things like that, and so he was
- 39:09Speaker 1: saying to the judge like, well, what have you heard
- 39:11Speaker 1: about me? I ain't Chris Brown. You know, it was
- 39:13Speaker 1: that kind of Oh he flipped. I mean, you know
- 39:17Speaker 1: he could have been what I go into some of
- 39:19Speaker 1: the other things that's happened to Chris Brown, and maybe
- 39:22Speaker 1: not his parenting. But since you're talking about parenting, Chris
- 39:26Speaker 1: can take it, Brown can take it the wrong. Wait,
- 39:28Speaker 1: which I'm pretty sure he's a great dad. You right,
- 39:32Speaker 1: He's a good guy. He's just made some mistakes. Chris
- 39:35Speaker 1: Brown is a good guy. Man, He's just made some mistakes. Hell,
- 39:38Speaker 1: I made some mistakes. Hell, I'm a good dude. But man,
- 39:44Speaker 1: good people make mistakes all the time. Man. Yeah, No
- 39:47Speaker 1: one's perfect. Nobody excel for Jay Anthony Brown. Hey, that's
- 39:58Speaker 1: what I'm gonna I'm gonna do. I'm gonna hits and
- 40:00Speaker 1: write one about his age. Why did you say that
- 40:04Speaker 1: about Jay him being perfect? Though, Steve, are you talking
- 40:08Speaker 1: about everybody else? He got a song about everybody? By damn,
- 40:15Speaker 1: he must be perfect. Hey, I'm fitting to murder me
- 40:21Speaker 1: a hit with him in our show. Wish i'd get
- 40:25Speaker 1: some time. He'll work with you on it. That's how
- 40:29Speaker 1: good of a guy he is. Yeah, that's the sad thing. Yeah,
- 40:32Speaker 1: he actually got right, exactly, we gotta go. Coming up
- 40:38Speaker 1: at thirty four after the hour, the guys are here.
- 40:41Speaker 1: It's time for comedy roulette. You're listening to Steve Harvey
- 40:45Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, it is time, guys for comedy roulette.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Here are today's categories. You probably pretty much know the rules, right, Jake,
- 40:53Speaker 1: explain it quickly. You want to run it down, man,
- 40:55Speaker 1: just we already done this. Damn people new if you
- 41:02Speaker 1: get newness here wasting turn your nerves nerves bad. That
- 41:11Speaker 1: needs to be one man, your nerves and daybec wheel

- 52:57Speaker 1: Asian cleaner's right there and that's how you do it
- 53:02Speaker 1: right there. Yeah, hold on, I gotta tell you the
- 53:10Speaker 1: greatest thing that helpened on Celebrity Family Feud yesterday. Mingna Win,
- 53:18Speaker 1: who played in these movies Asianly Gorgeous. Her family was
- 53:22Speaker 1: on the show. You know, I had gotten into a
- 53:26Speaker 1: spot one time with the Asian men. Is this guy
- 53:30Speaker 1: lied on me and said that I said the Asian
- 53:33Speaker 1: men one attractive, which is not true. I never said that.
- 53:36Speaker 1: He said, well, that's how we took it, and he
- 53:38Speaker 1: started the story about me. I ended up apologizing to
- 53:41Speaker 1: him online. So this Asian family is on Celebrity Family Feud.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I get down to the end. Her husband Eric, he goes, hey,
- 53:51Speaker 1: I just wanted to say I never took the comments
- 53:53Speaker 1: you made about Asian men that way. I said, man,
- 53:56Speaker 1: thank you man, because that's not how minute. Yeah. That guy,
- 53:59Speaker 1: he's just restaurant. He said, But you know what, let's
- 54:02Speaker 1: just make it right though. He said, you've heard the slogan,
- 54:05Speaker 1: once you go black, you'll never go back. I said, yeah,
- 54:09Speaker 1: this is an Asian dude. He said, I got one
- 54:11Speaker 1: for you. I said, what's that? He said, you know
- 54:13Speaker 1: what they say, don't you? I said what he said,
- 54:16Speaker 1: once you go yellow? Hello? Man? Stage what? I ran
- 54:29Speaker 1: around the stage? Man? So we had to come mark.
- 54:32Speaker 1: We had to stop taking for about five minutes. And
- 54:35Speaker 1: the way he did he snapped the spring and everything.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I would run. Oh man, all right. Coming up at
- 54:43Speaker 1: the top of the hour, it is today's Strawberry Letter.
- 54:46Speaker 1: You don't want to miss this. You're listening to the
- 54:49Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Before we get to today's Strawberry Letter,
- 54:53Speaker 1: Samuel L. Jackson tears apart Donald Trump over armed teacher's plan.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Samuel L. Friend of the show We Love Samuel L.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Jackson jumped on Twitter to criticize Donald Trump's plan to
- 55:04Speaker 1: armed teachers to help combat mass shootings at schools. Samuel L.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Clearly disagrees and tweeted Can someone that's been in a gunfight.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Tell that you know, his favorite favorite words, his favorite
- 55:19Speaker 1: mother flank that's never been in a gunfight, the flaws
- 55:24Speaker 1: of his arm, the teacher's plan, the stupidest thing he's
- 55:30Speaker 1: come up with. You don't think that's the stupidest thing. God,
- 55:36Speaker 1: the wall, the wall is pretty stupid too. Well. Yeah,
- 55:40Speaker 1: especially now that he wants from seven countries. That's crazy
- 55:48Speaker 1: because you know what happened. There was a lady in
- 55:49Speaker 1: our audience or the other day from Syria who was
- 55:53Speaker 1: over here visiting her daughters. And since she's been over
- 55:57Speaker 1: here when she came over here a few months go,
- 56:00Speaker 1: you know, the band went into place right to travel Bany.
- 56:04Speaker 1: So now she's debating or whether she should go back
- 56:08Speaker 1: to Syria, because she goes back to Syria, she'll never
- 56:11Speaker 1: see her daughters and grandchildren ever again. Or does she
- 56:16Speaker 1: go back to Syria because she has her husband, but
- 56:21Speaker 1: if she leaves the country, she cannot come back. That's
- 56:26Speaker 1: a real dilemma for this woman. She was sitting in
- 56:30Speaker 1: the audience with her two daughters. She says to what
- 56:32Speaker 1: should I do? Should I go back to Syria with
- 56:35Speaker 1: my husband and I will never see my children again,
- 56:38Speaker 1: or my grandchildren if I go back, I said, he
- 56:44Speaker 1: that's crazy. But they've plucked people up out of this
- 56:48Speaker 1: country and deported him who have been here thirty years,
- 56:52Speaker 1: paying taxes and excellence to teachers, plumbers, great citizens period,
- 56:57Speaker 1: great citizens, and they just pluck them up because they're
- 57:01Speaker 1: unraveling the commitment that Obama made to these people. So
- 57:06Speaker 1: they're going there and there unrevel and they sent them down.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Now we don't have border control because you're all so
- 57:11Speaker 1: busy messing with these people that's already over here, instead
- 57:14Speaker 1: of standing your ads down there body, damn river. See
- 57:18Speaker 1: that's what you could do. But you got all these
- 57:21Speaker 1: people up here, man, plucking people out of their houses straight.
- 57:24Speaker 1: A lot of this stuff out, Steve, sounds like I
- 57:28Speaker 1: can my conversation. Oh you I disagree with that now,
- 57:37Speaker 1: all things considered. Now I gotta be in there with you. Thought. No,
- 57:55Speaker 1: it's enough stupid people in that now over the top.
- 57:59Speaker 1: All let's get to the letter. Hold on tight, we
- 58:08Speaker 1: got it for you. Here it is. That's straw. He subject,
- 58:12Speaker 1: why did he leave? Hello, Steve, Shirley, Tommy and Crow.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Good morning. I'm a thirty two year old female who
- 58:20Speaker 1: married at the age of nineteen. My husband was twenty two.
- 58:24Speaker 1: We've been married for at least thirteen years. Anyway, we've
- 58:27Speaker 1: been separated for six months. We have two children. My
- 58:31Speaker 1: husband is divorcing me, but I don't know why. I'm
- 58:34Speaker 1: a hard working teacher and he's a security guard, but
- 58:37Speaker 1: I don't care. We have two sons in private school.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I am currently working on my master's degree. The real
- 58:43Speaker 1: problem is I feel used on occasion when I convince
- 58:47Speaker 1: him to have sex with me. After sex, I feel
- 58:50Speaker 1: cheap because I know he doesn't love me anymore. I
- 58:53Speaker 1: can just tell. He just says repeatedly that he does
- 58:56Speaker 1: not love me anymore. We get along, we don't argue,
- 58:59Speaker 1: but we are not together. What did I do wrong?
- 59:03Speaker 1: Why did he leave? Steve? Help have a good day, Sincerely,
- 59:07Speaker 1: Mr Troy. While Dear Mr Troy, you know I'm sorry
- 59:11Speaker 1: you have to go through this. Um. The one clue
- 59:14Speaker 1: in your letter as to why your husband is divorcing
- 59:16Speaker 1: you could be that you say he's a security guard
- 59:19Speaker 1: and you don't care, meaning you love him no matter what.
- 59:21Speaker 1: But he could be feeling insecure because you're more accomplished
- 59:24Speaker 1: and more educated than he is. You're working to better
- 59:27Speaker 1: yourself and the kids. They're in private school, you're working
- 59:30Speaker 1: on your masters. Uh. The other thing is, um, you know,
- 59:34Speaker 1: you having to convince him to have sex with you.
- 59:39Speaker 1: I really had to say this, but it does sound
- 59:40Speaker 1: like he's moved on, that he's not into you anymore. Um.
- 59:45Speaker 1: We've all heard of cases where people just wake up
- 59:48Speaker 1: one day and decide they don't want to be married anymore,
- 59:50Speaker 1: that they've fallen out of love, which is what your
- 59:52Speaker 1: husband has said to you. Uh, that's unfortunate. Again, I'm
- 59:56Speaker 1: really sorry about that for you, but it does happen.
- 59:59Speaker 1: You guys did get married pretty early. You know, maybe
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: he's just had it. Who knows. Um, A lot has
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: been left out of the letter. But at the very least,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: after thirteen years of marriage, you are owed some sort
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: of explanation. I mean, maybe he thinks that's good enough
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: that he doesn't love you anymore. But UM, you know,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: the bottom line is you need to know something, even
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: if it's an answer you don't want to hear. Like
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: there's someone else. He's moved on with someone else. And
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I gotta tell you that even if that is the case,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: you can move on. You can have a better life.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: You know, if he leaves you, it'll be all right.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: It's gonna be rough, but you can get through it.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: You know you can get through it. There's somebody else
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: out there for you, Steve. Yeah, I ain't gotta wait
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: on this from right here, and we ain't got to
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: read this letter no more. Um. The deally is y'all
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: gotten married at a young age, and now he ain't
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: the same person he used to be no more. He's
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: grown into somebody else, and you've grown into somebody else.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: And the two people that you become are no longer
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: to people that need to be together. It happens. It
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: happens if you don't get married that young. Sometimes two
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: people start changing, and the people that you change into
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: ain't cool with each other no more. That seems to
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: be basically what has happened right here. I don't care
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: how many years you've been married, you've been separated for
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: six months, you've got two kids. Your husband is divorcing you,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: but you don't know why. Well, yeah you do, because
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: it's in the letter right here. The real problem is
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I feel used on occasion when I convince him to
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: have sex with me. I cannot remember the last time
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I've had to be convinced. I've been a few times
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: held back and cut back on it, but I do
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: not recall the last time I had to be convinced.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: When you have to convince a man to be physical
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: with you, that man right there is getting his physical
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: somewhere else. Come on, come on, that's just the way
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: we are. Let me say that to you and leave
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: you in the break with that one. Then I'll come
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: back and tell you the rest of it. But on
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: that note, that's gonna take some soaking. As Boomerang say,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: it's called marinading, but Boomerang calls it's soaking. So we're
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: gonna let you soak in this one, and then I'll
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: come back with the rest of it. All right, We'll
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: have part two of Steve's response coming up at twenty
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: three after the hour you're listening to the Steve Harvey Show.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: All right, Steve, come on, let's get to part two
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: of your response to today's Strawberry letter. I'm a thirty
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: two year old female who married at the age of nineteen.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: My husband was twenty two. We've been married on my
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: thirteen years. Anyway, we've been separated for six months. We
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: have two child to my husband and divorcing me, but
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I don't know why. I'm a hardware can teach you
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: he's a security god, but I don't care. We have
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: two sons in private school. I am currently working on
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: my master's degree. The real problem is I feel used
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: on occasion when I convince him to have sex with me,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: and after sex, I feel cheap because I know he
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: doesn't love me anymore. I can just tell. He just
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: says repeatedly that he does not love me anymore. We
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: get along, we don't argue, but we're not together. What
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: did I do wrong? Why did he leave? Steve? Help
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: have a good day, Sincerely, Mr trut Mr Troy, Come on, baby,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: come on, walk back towards the light. Because you are
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: ignoring the obvious. I can't remember the last time I've
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: had to be convinced to have sex. I cannot even
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: tell you how we are built as creatures that when
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: you got to convince him, we either sick, I mean,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: and I've often found that right after that I feel better. Right,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: that's pretty much to cure all for everything coming in hell?
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: If I got a too fake, if you're just give
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: me a shot, I'll be fine. I swear to you.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: I'll be fine when I go to dinners for REALCA
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Now hold up, hold up, listen to me. I needed
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: time to light this. But I'll tell you what though,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: If you hook me up right, I swear to God
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: the next swallow. If you hook me up, give me
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: a shot, I swear to you the next swallow I
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: take to me. I just came from the doctor and
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: he told me my third disc has slipped. I'll tell
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: you what though, If you give me a shot, I
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: bet I ain't even gotta go back down there. Talk
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: this man here no more. Listen to me. I was
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: at work today and the crane let a palette down
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: on my left arm and has smashed it. But I'll
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: tell you what, if you hook me up right now,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: I probably won't even need that cast. It is the
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: cure all for most men. You don't have to convince
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: us to have it. We all ready it won't it
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: we even wanted from people we don't even know. I'm
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: going blind in my left high I can't see a
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: damn thing. If I just get a shot and a
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: little vizine, I'll be fine. The letter becomes even moteling
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: after sex. I feel cheap because listen to this line
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: and listen to the one right after. I feel cheap
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: because I know he doesn't love me anymore. Next line,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I can just tell him, you know how she could
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: tell because of the very next line. He just repeatedly
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: says that he does not love me anymore. Lady, lady, lady, lady,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: my foot then fell off. If you just give me
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a shot, I'll be fine. My nose is no longer
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: on my faces in my pocket, I really came. But
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: if we could just get in bed right at baby,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: my neck is broke. I can't hold my head up. Baby,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: But if you climb on top of me for the gurney,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: for they strapped me on this gurney, we could save
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: a lot of money. See that's that's that's it now, lady,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: you your answers are all in the letter. Now here's
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: the other part, that we get along. We don't argue. Well,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: y'all been separated six months, ain't you hard? Ag is
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: somebody ain't there hard to not get along with the
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: person you ain't got to see and be with. So, ma'am,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: but we are not together? What did I do wrong?
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Why did he leave? Steve, help, Okay, let me help you.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: As first of all, you don't have to have done
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: anything wrong, and probably you haven't done a single thing wrong.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: And this is where women can really give yourself a break.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Sometimes you just got the wrong dude. What even starts
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: out as the right man can turn into the wrong man.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: You just got the wrong dude. Who who he grew
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: into is not a family man anymore. It's not a
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: committed man anymore. It's not a man that's in love
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: with you anymore. That's what he's grown into. Sometimes men
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: don't need a calls. We just ignorant, we dumb, and
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: we do it now. I can almost assure you that
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: he will come running back at one point. But don't
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: you sit over there and wait on it though, go
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: on with your life, alright, Steve, you know we gotta
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: get out of here. You can email us or instagram's
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: her thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter at my Girl Shirley
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: and please please join me this Thursday at one thirty
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: pm Eastern time for the Strawberry Letter live after show
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: on Facebook at one thirty pm Eastern Alright, Switching gears now,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Alma Rosa back in the News. She said she felt
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: freed after leaving the White House. She revealed on Celebrity
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Big Brother, That's where she is these days how she
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: felt emancipated after leaving the White House. I'm emancipated, she says.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: She says she feels like she just got freed off
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: a plantation. Really, Amar Rossa, hallelujah. Amar Rossa also felt ignored.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Well dressed, slaves and makeup. She was in the house,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: slavery in the house. Yeah, She says she felt ignored
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: because she was an African American woman. Take a listen,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I'm inside trying to fight from my own political life. Well,
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I'm going into meetings where people were ignoring me because
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I was black. People didn't even talk to me. And
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: it wasn't just the black thing, it was the woman thing.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: You had everything working against God. They like the mint.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: These men felt like, we don't need any woman telling
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: us what to do. Yeah, and then here's the president going,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: did you ask him Arosa what she thinks? So then
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: they hated any more. Is it a boycott situation? What?
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: What what's she doing? She's trying to get back in,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: is what she's doing. That's what she's doing. We're not giving.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: He's trying to get it back. Jay, I'm telling you
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: to get back in people. What don't tell me Mare
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: coming up in about ten minutes. What was your favorite
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: food day when you were in school? You know, like
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: nothing today you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. So Carla,
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: you're just paying for for your daughter Tasha's lunch, right,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: you just paid her bill? Yeah, so you know, things
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: are different from when we were in school. You know
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: what I'm talking about school lunches and things like that.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: So you yeah, we get this email. I get an
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: email and I had to put so much money off
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: my daughter's account. So I had to just give a
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: hundred and fifty dollars, yeah, for her school lunch. That
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: all problem last her to buy April. Oh okay, okay,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: when you paid all at one time? Now, Tasha weighs
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: a hundred pounds, she eats. I'm telling you this stuff.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: School many kids are expensive. No, there's a rip off.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: They're making money off y'all calls a week. No, no, no,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: no no, until it ends out. Then they send you
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: a notice and you have to keep putting money on.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: And Tasha says, Mommy, I want ice cream every day. Yes,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: she eating the morning too. So your baby is prison.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: You gotta put money on her board. Yeah. Yeah, we're
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: getting at three today. But she's an athlete, so she eats.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: I'm sure she has a hearty appetite healthy. Yeah, Tommy,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: do you have to do that? I don't know what
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Jack could do. I just a head of money, man.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Lunch was way different. My lunch special was forty five
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: cent a day, right there. Yeah, and then what was
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: your favorite food day? When she whoa? That was another's
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: burder day Friday morning. That pancake was off the chain
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: on Friday morning, and that hot stir breakfast food. We
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: can do breakfast for lunch. They're going after what y'all
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: having white doughnuts with that pot on it? Yes, now,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: we bought them at the Stoke Cookies peanut butter cookies,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: butter cookies with chocolate cookies. Yeah, with chocolate milk, the
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: big thick kind though. Yeah, it was good. Yes, y'all
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: don't have that no more. How much is your lunch?
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Junior two thousand stared for the week we just started.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Took two fifty the week, one damn meal or two fifty.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: You know how many robberies would have been in our school,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: would have been jacking in that parking lot. Okay, man,
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: If I couldn't have that honey bund i wasn't no good.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: What about did you all have stuff like pizza? We
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: had piece of Bascar wasn't good. Black people don't have
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: to make peace. Not back in seventy one. They didn't
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: know no cheese number, just do tomato paste. You didn't
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: recognize the meat. When you could, you could see the
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: cheese laying on it. It was individual shredded cheese. It
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: wasn't melted. Man, I didn't know how to make no
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: pizza that school and then heat. But did anybody like
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: fish sticks? So oh, that was my favorite day. That
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: was a good day for me day. Boy, man in
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: your pocket? Yes I did. Let's that's my mom that? Okay?
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: What Steve, I'm trying to hear it. What your mom? What?
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: My mom used to go to school and get the
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Mrs Paul's fish sticks, put them on that trail and
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: put him in the oven. Ye, get that jaw craft
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: tartar sauce. Watching down there, boy, watching Googlardi and you
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: couldn't even talk to me watching what googlardi, Papa woun
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: ma Mo Papa, Mama Papa, my mom, Papa, Mama Papa,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: Ma Ma Blappa, Mama Papa, Ma Mo papa, mam Papa
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: out o Papa, my mom, Papa, my mouth GOOGLARTI GOOLDI
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: what show is this dog? We only had three TV
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: stations came on here Friday. What was Gulardi was just
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: a weird white man that did horror movies and that's
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: that was his theme. So a Papa, my mom, Papa,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: my mom, bapa. And he had a lab coat, real
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: crazy looking wig colors in it. He had chemicals mixing
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: up like a mad sign to. He played horror movie
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: every Friday night. The bread Sticks Scared, fish Sticks Scared,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: can't go to Then we watched TV on Saturday night
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: all the way to one o'clock and then it happened.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: But the dunes flag me waving it and going on.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: He used to go and that white man TV just
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: off that lighthouse, come on the little rainbow signal hit TV.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Kids don't even know that the TV used to go
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: off at night. It's the thing that starts to play
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: the start Spangled banner. And I told my kids that
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: they said daddy, just being Yeah, it went off and
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: you had to go to sleep. Yeah, you could not
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: sleep with the TV on all that broadcasting segment of
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: the day. Yeah, zoom at six o'clock in the morning.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: We was here when cable started, right, m wow, what's that? Uh.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: I'll tell you what my daughter asked me the other day.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: We mom, you didn't have Wi Fi when we didn't
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: have cell phones with you. All Right, when we come back,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: we're gonna shout out Drake. Yeah, he's doing big things
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: in the neighborhood. Drake. When we come back, you're listening
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: to the Steve Morning Show, shout out to Drake. Guys.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Have you guys been paying attention to what Drake has
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: been doing. I know you've been working a lot, Steve,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: But man, Drake has just dropped the music video for
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: his song God's Plan. And no, you're not going to
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: see half naked women or his crew or flash cars
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: or any of that. Which you're going to see is
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: something that will restore your faith in humanity. Uh. And
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: just goodwill and budget things like that. The project was
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: one million dollars, but instead of using the money to
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: make an expensive video, Drake walked into a store in
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Miami and grabbed the megaphone over the counter and told
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: everyone anything you want to buy in this store is free.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: But then he took it a step further. He gave
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: the Frost School of Music ten thousand dollars. The City
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: of Miami Fire Department was gifted twenty thousand dollars, a
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: local high school got twenty five thousand dollars, and a woman, Yes,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: this is so awesome, And a woman was given a
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: forty dollars shopping spree at Sex Fifth Avenue. Yes. Yes.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Another young woman received a fifty thousand dollars scholarship to
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: the University of Miami, and the Low This House women
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Shelter was given a massive check of fifty dollars and
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: trolleys of toys for the kids. They're part of the
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Drake video. Yeah, it was filmed at the Miami Senior
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: High School. Yeah, you have to see the video, Steve,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: It's great, which was given a large sum of money
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: the Miami Senior High School. The community in Miami said
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: what Drake did was a blessing and it was truly
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: God's plan. I love that. I love that. Yeah, from Drake,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: We'll murder that song this week? Are you the song
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: about God? How are you gonna murder God's plan? Song?
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: A little different? And you're gonna call it What's plan?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: And that is God's plan yourself? You ain't no, just
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: you have any out of bounce at all in a
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: different approach to what Drake Did's plan, That's all what
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: I'm saying. Are you gonna be didn't weigh any money
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: with your so what's your butte? Yeah, because you should
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: send carlin I on the shopping spree. That fifty six dollars,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: that's how much it cost to make the song. But
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: that's a great thing that he fashed video Drakes video. Yeah,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: it's really good. It's heartwarming, you know it is to
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: see the looks on the people's faces when he gives
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: them the money and just it's really cool, you know,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: to give back like that. What are you going to
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: talk about give us a Yeah, I don't want to
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: spoil it, but just know that the budget is six dollars.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: See if you can stop him now you hired him
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: though you didn't mean to. You want to do over reset,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: but he says he's not going back. Though, no, I'm
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: not going back. I'm good I'm gonna good over. I'm
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: on championship team over here. You have a call over
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: that jay, huh, call over? You don't have a call
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: and say we've beat y'all. I don't go nohing no,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: But I mean, like, okay, if you broke up with
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: a girl you're you know it had a relationship and
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: you broke up, you might call and check and see
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: if they're doing okay, see how they're doing. You don't
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: do that. What check? They don't? None of these girls
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: ever he bro bro bro bro bro. I'm going wow.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: I didn't say nothing. I ain't open wondering why you're talking.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: He's not good at break up. You've been friends with
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: somebody after y'all broke up, it's been it's been pretty
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: much final right there at the end. And we break
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: up for a reasons, usually because I don't like I
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: don't know what you're gonna do to change that, And
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: you say you don't do closure, so there's no reason
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: for you to go back. I'll be closed. Yeah I
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: didn't shut it down, But what that you don't have closure,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: that's on you. But what if you see them again,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: say say if you were single? This is all hypothetical
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: you saw them again after you broke up with them,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: they were looking fabulous. They had changed. You could see
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: the change. There's nothing that would make you want to
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: go back to that person. Yeah, hell yeah, but you
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: but you wouldn't do it. I catches myself every time, huh.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: I catch myself after I made the mistake of going back. Lord,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: oh Lord Jesus, that's a mistake going back in Yeah,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: it's never worked out. And because usually when I'm going,
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: you know, you've taken me to the brink of disaster anywhere.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: So to go back really doesn't make any sense because
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I give you every opportunity to make it work. You know.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: It's like when I fired person, I give you every opportunity.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: So when you get fired, man gone, that's it, you know.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: But in a relationship, it's just I don't. I can't
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: go back. You know. I've seen somebody before and when hey,
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: how you being how you? And they'll be talking. But
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I promise you, somewhere in that conversation, I go, oh, yeah,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: that's they say something crazy. Oh yeah, I ain't never
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: had were just like, wow, I was really cool seeing
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: you get It's always they say something and it makes
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: me go home. Yeah, like what what did they say? Though?
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: You know, I get to be something that they do,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: like you know, you know, I ain't forgotten that you
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: didn't call me back. She can't call you every five minutes.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: That's why I broke up. Now she's still talking about
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: the phone call this twenty years later. Who so last one?
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Uh huh? All right, we'll have more of this craziness
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: when we come back at twenty after the hour. You're
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: listening to Steve Morning Show. Yeah, out of he was
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: having a rough day. What is this song you're saying, Steve,
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: that's Gerald LeVert. No, I'm telling you because let me
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: tell you something. That song is me and Marjorie all
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: the way through Funny you Should Call Today. It's a
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: song about a man who used to date this girl,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: no telling how long ago, and something happened to him
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: and this dude he ain't been the same since. So
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Gerald Leverte wrote this song called funny you Should Call Today,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: and the dude just been going through it man, and
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: he said, got out of bed, nothing went my way,
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: trying to find peace of mind, but there ain't no
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: rest for a weary man. Everything I do seem to
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: get me down, looking everywhere trying to find a smile.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Then the phone rang and an angel saying hello, Hello,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: and it's funny you should call today. It's been too
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: long about you just moved on. That's how I felt
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: about Margie. So I've been listening to it in my
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: dressing room for about three or four years. So I
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: listened to it all the time. And so the other day,
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: right before Valentine's Day, I sent it to Mardre. I said, baby,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: I've been wanting to send you this for three years now.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Marjorie has no reference point to this three years. So
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: when she gets this, you know, quite naturally you send
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: your wife something you've been with it for a long time.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: You said, I've been wanting to send you this for
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: three years and as a love So how you just
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: not wanting to send me an old song three years ago?
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: And I came home that night and I kiss I said, anybody,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: what's up? She said? She said, Steve, who did you
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: mean to send this to? Now? I don't forgot about
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: this song, right because I didn't came home from work. Boy,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I have to thank my stomach, heart colon. Everything went
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: up in my what do you what do you What
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: do you mean? I don't get it because I'm trying
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: to figure out what the hell have I sit that
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: she don't understand. Now I don't really said nothing. Yeah,
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: but I'm really confused because you know you but dial
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: the person before. Yea. So now I'm trying to figure
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: out have I but sit something? You don't know what
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: it is? I don't know what it is, So she said,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: hold on, let me show, So she turns her phone around. God,
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: I'm sweating so hard because I don't know what's gonna
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: come up on this phone. That's because I'm not really
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: texts of it. Nohow anything anything, sule sent He got
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: out of bed, nothing in my way, trying, but there
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: ain't no rest ain't no for weary men. Everything seemed
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: to get me done, getting me down, looking everywhere, trying
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: to find a smile, fine smile. Did the phone come on?
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: Come on? So I said that, So she don't know,
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: So she spends the phone around. I'm squinting, squallowing and praying.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: But you didn't do anything, Father, God Lord Jesus in him,
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: and for we gotta go, we come back. We'll hear
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: part two of this. Fine Steve story with this text
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: thing and all of it. You're listening to Steve Harvey
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, So Steve, now you sent Marjorie,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: your wife, your beautiful wife, a song. Yeah, but I
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: don't forgot I sent it because I sent it earlier
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: that day. I get home, is late at night. She's
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: sitting up with the phone and Hu. Yes, so she'd
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: been confused all day. But she's gonna confront me face
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: to face, not just as a man having had a
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: checker page. Yeah, but you're no longer having a check Yeah,
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: but damn that damn at any time, I don't know,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: boy that has that passed? Sometimes, don't stay there sing
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: that nervous, sweating bullet about that life no more. But
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Nolan was in and it did not taste. He had
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: colon products on it. I said, good Lord. She turned
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: around when I squinted and went into prayer. When the
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: phone as a phone yourself, the story far to God.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: You could, with all within you allow me to know
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: what to say. To see Lord, I won't do it
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: no more. Whatever I have to do. Given Wow. So
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: when she turned it around, baby, that's a song. I've
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: been trying to send it to you for the longest
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: because you know, when I hear this song, I don't
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: know how to download it. So I had to reel
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: download it any day and I sent it to you.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: So she said, let me listen to it. Then, so
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: she send to it and the next day she said,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: oh my god, I can't get that song out of
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: my head. She said, that's exactly what happened. She said,
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: because the first thing you asked me was about my family. Yeah,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I am giving damn about your family. I want to
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: know you're mad old stuff. That's how all that was.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: I don't want to tell that was code about your
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: mom and dad. Asked my mom and daddy. Then you
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: can find out. But it was a lot in that though.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: What you just said God answers prayers. Yeah, man, but
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: i'd have been called off God, big dog. I'd have
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: been sitting there side. I ain't sent you know you've
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: been Oh yeah, that's stupid. You said you ain't sent
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: to nothing. Then now she know for show you didn't
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: mean to send it to know you're stupid and don't
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: not don't ever do that. You're always what did you said?
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: I said, hold on, baby, show me what I sent you.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Because obviously I sent you something. What you can't do
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: is I ain't sent you nothing. Yeah, you can't go.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: Always use the accusation in your answer. Rule number one
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: to getting out of something. Listen to the question. Have
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: that question in your answer. You gotta listen to knowledge.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: You gotta listen. Nephew, you gotta listen. See, you're stupid.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: You're trying to get I ain't sent you nothing. Now
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: you outside in the law of the chateau. Out of came.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: I'm going to do the remix of this. So that's
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: what I said, even if there's something wrong you doing.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: Oh Dad, all right, listen, we're coming back with Steve's
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: closing remarks. Okay, you've been on fire lately, Steve, just
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: one more thing when we get back. You're listening to
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, we are at
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: the last break of the day. It's been a good day,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: and uh, here we are with just one more thing.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: You're closing remarks. You know, I want to talk about
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: what Oprah said, uh in response to somebody on a
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: global grind. I think it was asked her to respond
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: to uh, Donald Trump's tweets and Monique's comments and everything.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: I'm being a friend of both of those, Monique and
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: um Oprah. This is not about siding. This is not
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: what this is. I just want to use the comment
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: of why she said she's a respond to negativity. I
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: actually learned something from her today. You know, like I said,
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: I think you have to hear things in a different way.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: I've always heard people say you gotta take the high road.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: But you know that's been difficult for me at times
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: because sometimes that hasn't always registered with me. I haven't.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: I haven't received it the way I should have taking
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: the high road. But Oprah put it a little bit differently,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: and I received it differently. She said she's always been
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: taught never to meet negativity with negativity, because the only
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: thing can hammer come out of that is more negativity.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: She said. The only way to come back darkness is
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: with light, she said, and it only takes a little
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: bit of light to affect darkness. And so I started thinking,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: if you're in a completely pitch black cave and you
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: happen to have the smallest candle, let's just say a
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: birthday candle, and you light a birthday candle in a
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: pitch black cave, it has a profound effect on a
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: very large area in which was normally a completely dark space.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: Just that one little piece of light from a candle,
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: how is a profound effect on a pitch black dark cave.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: And she's absolutely correct. The only way to combat darkness
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: is to be light. And I was talking to the
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: girls and they were saying, Steve, that's taking the high road.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: And they're absolutely right. That's exactly what people mean when
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: they say take the high road. But I just never
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: really received it that way because it's been difficult for
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: me sometimes to take the high road. I've done it
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: many times, but it's been challenging because I being the
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: way I am, sometimes I go, okay, all right, so
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: this the road we're riding towards each other own. Then
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: let's dry these cars and pick up some speed and
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: let's go. But that's not fruitful. That's that's not to
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: a benefit of me. It never has been. I've had
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: people to help me understand, like when they blog about you,
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: everybody's on social media some form or fashion or another,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: no matter how many followers are, Like, should get on
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: Facebook or something, You're gonna run into some hate. And
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: what I was told being in this position was, when
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: bloggers blog about you, it's a blog if you respond
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: to them, Steve, it's a press comforts because now you're
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: gonna meet this negativity with more negativity. You're gonna you're
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: gonna heighten a much more negative situation. So what Open
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: was saying, I wish everybody received it the way I did.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: It's just light, man. You can't you can't win like that.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: You've got to be light. I've always wanted to be
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: a person that when you walk into a room, people
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: be glad to see you. You know, I talked to
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: my kids about that all the time too. You know,
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: you want to be the person when they walk in
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: the room, everybody going okay, cool, my man, Oh that's
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: my dude. What's up boy? All of us know someone
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: that walks into a room and they just take that
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: air out the room. Everybody knows somebody like that. Man,
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: when Nate Man, y'all be sitting around having a good time. Man,
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: you and your boys or your girls, y'all sitting around.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Then this one person walk in and the whole attitude go.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: It's like they take the outer rule because they're just darkness. Man,
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: They just darkness. Y'all in there having this light time,
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: and here comes this black cloud that's gonna cover over
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: the fair and just start raining on it. I never
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: wanted to be that person. I've always wanted to be
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: a person. And when I walk in the room, man
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: that I could make a difference, But I just wanted
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: to be a bright spot up. You know a little
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: more positivity. You can ask God to help make you relevant.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: And I just I would rather be relative on a
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: positive level than to try to create relativity by dragging
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: other people down. These people who have shows where all
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: they do is talk about people, and they're trying to
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: be relevant by talking about people. Or you got haters
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: out there, and who's a whole blog and whole Instagram
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: and hold? Social media is set up to draw hate
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: so they can draw viewers, so they can monetize and
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: sell ads. Man, you know that ain't no good money.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: You know how that's gonna last because somebody's gonna turn
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: around and say something about you, and then somebody's gonna
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: stop viewing you. It's much better if you try to
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: make your living in a positive way. It lasts a
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: lot longer. I say this all the time. Hate is louder,
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: but love is stronger. You know. Have you even noticed
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: that hate is so loud when they got stuff on
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: all these blog sites, they're just talking about people. You go, oh,
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: but love is stronger. It's quieter, but it's stronger. And
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: if you just keep loving yourself and keep loving your God,
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: and you keep loving the people back that love you,
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: you can weather the storm. I tell you what's really helpful.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: It's hard for me though, if you could turn around
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: and just forgive your enemies, whether they ask you for
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: it or not, just forgive them anyway so you can
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: keep moving forward, so you don't get stuck on stupid
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: with him that I help you too. That's a hot one,
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: but that's a good one too. Those are my clothing
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: remarks to day. That's what I got from it. A
