- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with
- 0:04Speaker 2: you as always and Senator it was a wild night
- 0:08Speaker 2: last night in Washington, DC, and the big headline is
- 0:12Speaker 2: a four point five trade ar tax cut has passed
- 0:15Speaker 2: the House.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It was touch and go.
- 0:18Speaker 2: It's a slim majority of the House, but they got
- 0:20Speaker 2: it done for the American people.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Well, this is the first step. So you and I
- 0:24Speaker 3: are recording this. It is twelve twenty in the morning
- 0:27Speaker 3: Tuesday night. The House had a touch and go vote
- 0:31Speaker 3: on the floor of the House on whether to begin
- 0:34Speaker 3: the first step of budget reconciliation. They ended up getting
- 0:38Speaker 3: the votes by one vote. Initially they put it on
- 0:41Speaker 3: the floor of the House and it failed. Then they
- 0:44Speaker 3: brought it back. President Trump was whipping the votes that
- 0:47Speaker 3: were on the sidelines and it passed by one vote. Now,
- 0:51Speaker 3: this doesn't mean it's done, but it's the beginning of
- 0:54Speaker 3: the process. We're gonna break that down. We're gonna explain
- 0:57Speaker 3: what it means, what that is st uarding us on
- 1:00Speaker 3: the path to do. We're also going to talk about
- 1:03Speaker 3: the rather shocking news from this week about an ied
- 1:06Speaker 3: that exploded in South Texas, blowing up a Texas rancher,
- 1:11Speaker 3: as the Mexican cartels are engaged in what you would
- 1:15Speaker 3: have to call just open warfare at this point. IED's
- 1:19Speaker 3: you envision in Iraq, you envision in war zones, You
- 1:22Speaker 3: don't envision them in the state of Texas.
- 1:24Speaker 4: We're going to break that down.
- 1:26Speaker 3: And finally we're going to talk about the latest step
- 1:29Speaker 3: in the battle over boys and girl sports, which is
- 1:32Speaker 3: the Department of Justice is coming after the state of Maine,
- 1:35Speaker 3: the State of California, and the State of Minnesota to
- 1:38Speaker 3: comply with the federal law and Trump's executive order concerning
- 1:43Speaker 3: boys and girl sports, and Maine and California and Minnesota
- 1:47Speaker 3: are saying hell no, we're going to break that down
- 1:49Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's awesome, all right.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I gotta tell you today I did something that was
- 1:54Speaker 2: just really fun, and it was to spend a little
- 1:56Speaker 2: time at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Dallas, Texas
- 2:01Speaker 2: with my friends of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and I got to see just what their work looks
- 2:08Speaker 2: like with some videos that I was shown, some pictures
- 2:11Speaker 2: of the impact that so many of you are having
- 2:14Speaker 2: by being involved with IFCJ and helping the people in Israel.
- 2:18Speaker 2: After more than a year of war, tear and pain
- 2:21Speaker 2: in Israel, there is still a great demand for basic
- 2:24Speaker 2: humanitarian aid and that is where the International Fellowship of
- 2:27Speaker 2: Christians and Jews has supported and they continue to support
- 2:31Speaker 2: those in the Holy Land still facing the lingering horrors
- 2:34Speaker 2: of war and those who are in desperate need. Right now,
- 2:38Speaker 2: your ongoing monthly gift of forty five dollars will provide
- 2:43Speaker 2: critically needed aid to communities in the North and the
- 2:45Speaker 2: South that have been devastated by the ongoing attacks against
- 2:49Speaker 2: the Jewish people. Now, your generous donation each month helps
- 2:53Speaker 2: deliver to those that are in need the most, including
- 2:56Speaker 2: the evacuees and the refugees from all of these different
- 3:00Speaker 2: or torn areas. There's also a lot of first responders
- 3:03Speaker 2: and volunteers and wounded soldiers, even elderly Holocaust survivors that
- 3:08Speaker 2: are in desperate need, and you are helping them. That
- 3:11Speaker 2: is why I just want to say, number one, thank
- 3:14Speaker 2: you for getting involved and helping so many people in
- 3:17Speaker 2: this great time of need and uncertainty.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Your gift to bless Israel and her people.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You can do that by visiting support IFCJ dot org.
- 3:27Speaker 2: That's one word, support IFCJ dot org, or you can
- 3:32Speaker 2: call them eight at eight four eight eight IFCJ that's
- 3:37Speaker 2: eight eight eight four eight eight IFCJ eight at eight
- 3:41Speaker 2: four eight eight four three two five or support IFCJ
- 3:45Speaker 2: dot org. All right, So, Center, it was an exciting
- 3:48Speaker 2: and intense night on the floor of the House.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It was the vote was on, it was off.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You literally could physically see people on the floor taking
- 3:57Speaker 2: phone calls, speaking on the phone. That's been reported was
- 4:00Speaker 2: with the President United States of America. This was part
- 4:02Speaker 2: of the whipping votes. And by the way, this is
- 4:04Speaker 2: when I tell people please share this podcast on social
- 4:08Speaker 2: media because we're going to pull back the curtain here
- 4:11Speaker 2: and explain to you what happened and what is next.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So you guys, they're messing with the algorithms now, So
- 4:17Speaker 2: we ask for your support of the show by sharing
- 4:19Speaker 2: it on social media hitting that subscribe or download the
- 4:23Speaker 2: episode button every time you see the show. But Senator,
- 4:26Speaker 2: this was one of those moments where it's like, Okay,
- 4:29Speaker 2: this is real. It's a tight majority in the House
- 4:32Speaker 2: and it passes because of phone calls literally from the
- 4:35Speaker 2: President on the floor.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Well, tonight was the first step in delivering on our
- 4:40Speaker 3: promises to the American people. And if you look at
- 4:43Speaker 3: the election in November, there was a mandate from the voters.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Number one, the mandate is secure the border, and that
- 4:49Speaker 3: is the most overwhelming mandate we have. Beyond that, there's
- 4:53Speaker 3: a mandate to rebuild the military and defend America. There's
- 4:56Speaker 3: a mandate to unleash American energy and by doing so,
- 5:00Speaker 3: to lower energy cost, to lower inflation. And there's a
- 5:04Speaker 3: mandate to bring the economy back to help small businesses,
- 5:07Speaker 3: and that means extending the twenty seventeen Trump tax cuts
- 5:11Speaker 3: that are expiring this year. All of that we got
- 5:15Speaker 3: to get done, and I got to say failure is
- 5:19Speaker 3: not an option. So tonight what the House did is
- 5:23Speaker 3: they voted on their budget resolution. Now, why does a
- 5:26Speaker 3: budget resolution matter? The reason it matters is ordinarily to
- 5:31Speaker 3: pass legislation in the Congress, you need sixty votes in
- 5:35Speaker 3: the Senate. Why is that because the Senate rules give
- 5:38Speaker 3: the minority of the ability to filibuster, and the ability
- 5:41Speaker 3: to filibuster is the ability to block legislation unless you
- 5:45Speaker 3: have sixty votes to cut off debate. Now, we only
- 5:49Speaker 3: have fifty three Republicans in the Senate, which means if
- 5:52Speaker 3: you need sixty votes, you need seven Democrats. The seven
- 5:55Speaker 3: Democrats are not going to vote. There are not seven Democrats.
- 5:59Speaker 3: There's not even one Democrat who's going to vote to
- 6:01Speaker 3: secure the border, who's going to vote to cut taxes,
- 6:03Speaker 3: who's going to vote to rebuild our military, And so
- 6:06Speaker 3: if you've got to go through the filibuster, you can't win.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Now.
- 6:10Speaker 3: The main exception to the Senate filibuster rule is something
- 6:15Speaker 3: called budget reconciliation. Budget reconciliation is a law that was
- 6:19Speaker 3: passed in the nineteen seventies that provides for moving forward
- 6:24Speaker 3: on budgetary matters, and by statute, a budget reconciliation cannot
- 6:30Speaker 3: be filibusters, which means you can pass it with only
- 6:34Speaker 3: fifty votes in the Senate. You don't need sixty. So
- 6:38Speaker 3: if you go back to twenty seventeen, the twenty seventeen
- 6:41Speaker 3: Trump tax cuts we passed using budget reconciliation. If you
- 6:46Speaker 3: go back to the Biden administration, the Democrats use budget
- 6:49Speaker 3: reconciliation multiple times to pass things like their incredibly misnamed
- 6:54Speaker 3: Inflation Reduction Act, which was the Green New Deal spending scam.
- 6:59Speaker 3: They use that because they couldn't get sixty. Now, in
- 7:04Speaker 3: order to pass our agenda, we are trying to pass
- 7:07Speaker 3: budget reconciliation. The House and Senate have a difference in
- 7:12Speaker 3: strategy on how to do this, and we've talked about
- 7:15Speaker 3: this in a previous podcast, but I'm going to explain
- 7:17Speaker 3: a little bit of it. The House, the Speaker of
- 7:20Speaker 3: the House, believes we should pass one single reconciliation bill.
- 7:25Speaker 3: What he refers to it as is one big, beautiful bill.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Donald Trump has repeated that multiple times, and he believes
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's the best way, with his exceptionally narrow majority in
- 7:37Speaker 3: the House, to get all of this across the finish line.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I will tell you virtually every Republican Cenator, including myself,
- 7:46Speaker 3: believes the way to do this is two bills, starting
- 7:49Speaker 3: with one bill that secures the border, rebuilds the military,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and Unleasha's energy, and then a second bill that extends
- 7:58Speaker 3: the tax cuts and makes the bigger and bolder.
- 8:03Speaker 4: I don't know who's right.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I don't know if the Senate's right or the House
- 8:05Speaker 3: is right, but at at some level, Ben I don't care.
- 8:09Speaker 3: We just have to get the job done. So tonight
- 8:13Speaker 3: I had dinner with Steve Scalise. Steve is a good friend.
- 8:16Speaker 3: He is the House Majority leader.
- 8:18Speaker 2: By the way, what's he doing for people that know
- 8:21Speaker 2: his history of being shot and the health issues. I
- 8:26Speaker 2: just I want to pause and ask, how is he
- 8:28Speaker 2: doing physically?
- 8:29Speaker 3: Really really well? So Steve, Steve has been is a
- 8:32Speaker 3: good friend. He's from Louisiana. He's a conservative, he's a friend.
- 8:36Speaker 3: He and I have been friends a long time. He's
- 8:39Speaker 3: doing great. And and and listen, Steve. We all remember
- 8:42Speaker 3: where Steve was shot with with with the crazed angry
- 8:46Speaker 3: leftist who went to the practice of the congressional baseball
- 8:49Speaker 3: game and wanted to kill Republicans and and shot and
- 8:55Speaker 3: badly wounded. Steve shot him in the pelvis, and he
- 8:58Speaker 3: was in a coma for some days. He almost died.
- 9:02Speaker 3: He's recovered from that. And then I got to say,
- 9:04Speaker 3: Steve has had some tough health scares because he had
- 9:08Speaker 3: just a couple of years ago cancer and he was
- 9:11Speaker 3: down in Houston at MD Anderson being treated. And m
- 9:16Speaker 3: d Anderson is an amazing hospital. My mom, who's ninety now,
- 9:20Speaker 3: she was treated there for cancer. It is look cancer
- 9:24Speaker 3: is a terrifying diagnosis. I hope never in my life
- 9:28Speaker 3: to be a patient.
- 9:29Speaker 4: At MD Anderson.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I don't want to be a patient there because you're
- 9:31Speaker 3: only a patient there if you have cancer.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I'd really like not to have cancer.
- 9:35Speaker 3: But I'll tell you this, if I ever get cancer,
- 9:39Speaker 3: I want to be patient at MD Anderson. I mean,
- 9:41Speaker 3: they do an amazing job. And I got to say Steve,
- 9:44Speaker 3: his health is doing great. I told him tonight he is.
- 9:48Speaker 3: He's in remission, he's finished with his cancer treatment. He
- 9:53Speaker 3: is strong, his color is back, he is full of
- 9:57Speaker 3: life and vim and vigor. I told him said, look,
- 10:00Speaker 3: even you know, five six months ago when he was
- 10:03Speaker 3: coming out of the cancer treatment, you could see, Look,
- 10:06Speaker 3: when you go through that, you go through chemo, it
- 10:08Speaker 3: weakens you. You can just see it's hard, your body
- 10:11Speaker 3: is I mean it exact cost, it's brutal. But you
- 10:17Speaker 3: know what, Steve is strong and effective and good. I
- 10:21Speaker 3: was really encouraged, as the best I've seen Steve in
- 10:24Speaker 3: years and he's come through this. And he was jubilant.
- 10:28Speaker 3: So he was on the House floor. He's the House
- 10:31Speaker 3: majority leader. He was trying to get the votes to
- 10:33Speaker 3: pass this on the House and he wasn't sure. So
- 10:35Speaker 3: the first time they brought it on the House. It failed,
- 10:38Speaker 3: and then he kept pressing and then he got it done.
- 10:41Speaker 3: And he got it done. Look, a critical piece of
- 10:44Speaker 3: getting it done was President Trump. And I sort of
- 10:47Speaker 3: joked when Steve showed up at dinner. I said, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 3: it does help when the chief whip in the House
- 10:52Speaker 3: is named Donald J.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Trump.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt about it.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And they were putting President Trump on the phone with
- 10:59Speaker 3: the publican votes that are wobbly, and he was saying, listen,
- 11:02Speaker 3: I need you to vote with us, and he flipped
- 11:04Speaker 3: the votes. And so it was. Steve told me, so
- 11:09Speaker 3: we're supposed to have dinner at seven thirty. He didn't
- 11:11Speaker 3: get there at about about eight thirty because he was
- 11:13Speaker 3: on the floor badly. Sure, and Steve told me, he's like,
- 11:16Speaker 3: all right, I'm late for dinner. So he said, I'm
- 11:18Speaker 3: picking up the tab, which I appreciated last time.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Steve and I had dinner.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I picked up the tab and he said, I'll tell
- 11:24Speaker 3: you what, order a drink, whatever you like, make it expensive.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I'm paying And he said, I want.
- 11:31Speaker 1: To celebrate, That's what I want to know. Did it
- 11:33Speaker 1: hurt a little bit?
- 11:34Speaker 3: So I ordered McCallen twenty five neat there you go,
- 11:38Speaker 3: which which is a great single malt Scotch. And and
- 11:41Speaker 3: and I you know, Steve is not a big Scotch guy.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I actually don't drink Scotch a lot, but I but
- 11:46Speaker 3: I do like McCallen and so we toasted it.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And when someone else by the way is paying, it's
- 11:51Speaker 2: just a nice little touch there.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Look, ste Steve said, hurt me a little bit and
- 11:55Speaker 3: ordered something pricey. So I thought about michelb Ultra. But
- 12:00Speaker 3: but but somehow McCallum twenty five seemed to better call me.
- 12:03Speaker 2: As long as it wasn't a bud Light or a Budweiser,
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm good with it. That's that's I'm still on the
- 12:07Speaker 2: Boycott train there by the way.
- 12:09Speaker 3: By the way, I will say you and I have
- 12:11Speaker 3: been to a lot of Astros games. Yes, I love
- 12:15Speaker 3: the Stros. You know, it used to be a few
- 12:18Speaker 3: years ago. I'd go the Astros in every baseball game.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I have a bud Light. I mean, that's just what
- 12:22Speaker 4: I what I drank.
- 12:23Speaker 3: You know, I'm old enough that I don't I drink
- 12:27Speaker 3: light beer instead of regular beer because you know, I
- 12:30Speaker 3: like you know, water that's slightly fave flavored. I like
- 12:35Speaker 3: it but after the whole bud light thing, it's an
- 12:39Speaker 3: amazing thing. You go, you go to the Minute Maide Stadium,
- 12:44Speaker 3: you go to watch uh or although I guess it's
- 12:47Speaker 3: now the Dykings Stadium there.
- 12:49Speaker 1: The Dyking's like, no, no, we paid a lot of
- 12:50Speaker 1: money to change that name.
- 12:52Speaker 4: I know, but it's it's hard to make.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It's going to be a minute made.
- 12:55Speaker 4: There's this.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I laugh because when they change it, I'm like, dude,
- 12:57Speaker 2: how many people are gonna remember this. It's it's gonna
- 13:00Speaker 2: been it made for the majority of my lifetime.
- 13:03Speaker 3: So but I'll say this, you'd go to the stadium
- 13:05Speaker 3: in a few years ago, like everyone was drinking bud light.
- 13:08Speaker 3: It was literally every person in the stadium. That's what
- 13:10Speaker 3: they drink. And now I don't even think they sell
- 13:13Speaker 3: bud light. I mean, I mean, it is an astonishing difference.
- 13:18Speaker 2: No, it's it is. It's it is a real boycott.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It has not gone away at all. And I do
- 13:24Speaker 2: love every once in a while when when conservatives say, okay,
- 13:27Speaker 2: you insult us to this point. Enough already, we're not
- 13:29Speaker 2: backing down, and we have it like I don't think
- 13:31Speaker 2: I'll ever drink one again. The rest of my life.
- 13:34Speaker 3: So, by the way, there's a structural reason for that.
- 13:37Speaker 3: So listen, you take something like the NBA. The NBA
- 13:40Speaker 3: got all woke. It put all the damn slogans on
- 13:43Speaker 3: the court and on the jerseys. It pissed me off.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It pissed a lot of conservatives off. Here's the problem.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I love basketball, like for me, the price of boycotting
- 13:55Speaker 3: the NBA, the price of boycotting the NFL, the price
- 13:58Speaker 3: of boycotting sports is painful. Like, I get great joy
- 14:02Speaker 3: from watching professional sports, and so I didn't like their politics.
- 14:06Speaker 4: But I'm like, I'm not willing to.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Sacrifice my joy just because I'm pissed about politics.
- 14:14Speaker 4: What got bud light.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Is they have a product that is easily substitutable.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Yeah, easily replaceable.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Every place you could get a bud light, there's a
- 14:26Speaker 3: course light. Yeah, there's a Miller's light. It's right next
- 14:30Speaker 3: to it. And by the way, show me the guy
- 14:34Speaker 3: that if you do a blind taste test between bud Light,
- 14:37Speaker 3: Miller's LT and Coreslight, I tell you the difference. I
- 14:39Speaker 3: don't know, that's someone with a better palette than me.
- 14:42Speaker 3: They're all light beers and they all taste pretty much
- 14:44Speaker 3: the same to me. I'll probably piss off some listens,
- 14:48Speaker 3: but I can tell the difference between a getness and
- 14:50Speaker 3: a bud light. Yes, yes, but I'll be damned if
- 14:53Speaker 3: I can tell the difference between a bud light and
- 14:54Speaker 3: a course light. That meant every customer. It was not
- 14:58Speaker 3: a boycott that was painful. It was not a boycott
- 15:00Speaker 3: that's like I got to give up something that gives
- 15:02Speaker 3: joy to me. It was a boycoth that said, oh.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, let me return it, and I'm going to get
- 15:09Speaker 2: a different one and watch how easy this is for.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Me, right right, and and and that got them in
- 15:14Speaker 3: in real trouble. By the way, Target got in a
- 15:16Speaker 3: little bit of this when they got super woke. And
- 15:19Speaker 3: Target is somewhat substitutable. But I'll say I think Target
- 15:23Speaker 3: and that they suffered a big drop, But I think
- 15:26Speaker 3: they've come back because listen, I mean, I guess instead
- 15:29Speaker 3: of Target, you can go to Walmart. But they're not
- 15:33Speaker 3: a ton of choices. I'll tell you my girls. I'll
- 15:36Speaker 3: confess my teenage girls love Target.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, trust me, my wife loves it, and there's no
- 15:41Speaker 2: way she was substituting Walmart for it.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's but it's a more expensive substitution.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Bud light got hit because it was a cost free
- 15:52Speaker 3: way to say I don't like what you did.
- 15:55Speaker 2: All right, I want to ask you one other questions
- 15:57Speaker 2: on the budget issue. So for people that say, okay,
- 16:00Speaker 2: this past, how quick is this going to move forward
- 16:03Speaker 2: or how long is this going to.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Be's a long way to go.
- 16:05Speaker 2: So what's the timeline on this? So we limit expectations
- 16:09Speaker 2: or be realistic.
- 16:10Speaker 3: So the Budget resolution just starts this process. Now what's
- 16:14Speaker 3: happened in the House is they've directed each of the
- 16:17Speaker 3: House committees to draft the underlying bill. So what was
- 16:21Speaker 3: voted on tonight was not securing the border, it was
- 16:24Speaker 3: not rebuilding the military, it was not cutting taxes. It
- 16:28Speaker 3: was the opening resolution to say, go draft that legislation.
- 16:34Speaker 3: That was a real fight.
- 16:36Speaker 1: So this is the first sitting to use a baseball analogy.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Yes, now it actually gets your batter at the plate,
- 16:43Speaker 3: Like if they'd failed, they don't even get a batter
- 16:46Speaker 3: at the plate.
- 16:46Speaker 4: So now we can start swinging.
- 16:48Speaker 1: We're in the game.
- 16:49Speaker 3: But they're going to be harder steps forward, and I
- 16:54Speaker 3: believe we're going to get this done. I believe we're
- 16:57Speaker 3: going to get this done. We're going to secure the border,
- 16:59Speaker 3: we're going to rebuild the military, we're going to unleash
- 17:01Speaker 3: American energy, and we're going to extend the tax cuts.
- 17:04Speaker 3: But but it is going to be a lot of
- 17:06Speaker 3: trade offs. It's gonna be hard. It's gonna be hard
- 17:10Speaker 3: because the House majority is so excruciatingly tiny that on
- 17:16Speaker 3: any issue, if you lose two votes, you're you're you're
- 17:18Speaker 3: out of luck. But I think we will get the
- 17:22Speaker 3: job done. And I will say both Mike Johnson, the Speaker,
- 17:25Speaker 3: and Steve Scalise, the Majority leader, they're both good friends.
- 17:29Speaker 3: I work very closely with both of them, and I
- 17:32Speaker 3: think we will go through some difficult paths to get there.
- 17:39Speaker 3: But all of us, from the most conservative Republican to
- 17:43Speaker 3: the most moderate, squishy, wobbly Republican, all of us want
- 17:48Speaker 3: to produce these victories we get. There was a mandate
- 17:52Speaker 3: from the election, and we can't fail. And by the way,
- 17:55Speaker 3: if we fail, if we don't secure the border, if
- 17:59Speaker 3: we don't rebuild the milliyitary, if we don't unleash energy,
- 18:02Speaker 3: if we don't extend the tax cuts, we'll get killed
- 18:06Speaker 3: in November of next year.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's I'm a big believer a Trump said
- 18:12Speaker 2: on the floor, right like, Hey, you don't want to
- 18:13Speaker 2: be involved in this.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Right, get it done. We made a promise to the voters.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Let's deliver on the voters, and I think today was
- 18:21Speaker 3: an important step to doing that.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Let's talk about the border for a second. There was
- 18:25Speaker 2: there was another big story, and I want you to
- 18:27Speaker 2: just read part of this for people, because it truly
- 18:30Speaker 2: is heartbreaking.
- 18:32Speaker 1: It makes me angry.
- 18:34Speaker 2: It's what you see in war in the Middle East,
- 18:37Speaker 2: and it's happening now against ranchers and people in agriculture.
- 18:42Speaker 2: The warning is very real now that the cartels are
- 18:46Speaker 2: acting like what they are, terrorists organizations. I think this
- 18:50Speaker 2: is another example of the President getting it right, saying
- 18:52Speaker 2: we're going to declare them as terrorist organizations because they
- 18:55Speaker 2: that's what they do. They are terrorist organizations. And now
- 18:59Speaker 2: we have another We had a point of saying, here's
- 19:01Speaker 2: the proof.
- 19:02Speaker 3: So let me read from a story in the New
- 19:04Speaker 3: York Post. Texas rancher killed by suspected cartel ied on
- 19:10Speaker 3: Mexican border as authorities worn of growing threat.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Here's what the New York Post.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Reported, quote a Texas border rancher was killed near the
- 19:20Speaker 3: border by a suspected cartel ied earlier this month. The
- 19:25Speaker 3: Texas Department of Agriculture told the Post Tuesday, as officials
- 19:30Speaker 3: issued an urgent safety warning for the Rio Grande Valley.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Rancher Antonio Gespenes Saldierna, seventy four, who worked on both
- 19:42Speaker 3: sides of the border along with Horatio Lopez Pena, was
- 19:47Speaker 3: killed in the blast in Tamalipas, Mexico, which was just
- 19:52Speaker 3: south of Brownsville, Texas. Lopez's wife, Ninphi Griselda Ortega, was
- 19:59Speaker 3: hospit vitalized with injuries. Saldirna was driving on his ranch
- 20:05Speaker 3: when he hit the explosive device, causing it to detonate.
- 20:09Speaker 3: According to KRGV, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller said the
- 20:14Speaker 3: deadly explosion is part of a quote growing threat posed
- 20:19Speaker 3: by cartel activity along our southern border and encourages ranchers
- 20:23Speaker 3: to quote exercise extreme caution in the area.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Quote.
- 20:29Speaker 3: I encourage everyone in the agricultural industry to stay vigilant,
- 20:33Speaker 3: remain aware of their surroundings, and report any suspicious activity
- 20:37Speaker 3: law enforcement. Additionally, you can avoid dirt roads and remote areas,
- 20:43Speaker 3: refrain from touching unfamiliar objects that could be explosive devices.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Limit travel to daylight hours, stay on main roads, and
- 20:52Speaker 3: avoid cartel controlled regions.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Said Miller.
- 20:55Speaker 3: This is happening right at the Texas Mexico border. I
- 21:01Speaker 3: gotta say it is dangerous and it shows. You know,
- 21:05Speaker 3: some in the media say, gosh, it's hyperbole, it's rhetoric
- 21:09Speaker 3: to call the cartel's terrorists. They are terrorists and they're
- 21:13Speaker 3: murdering Texans.
- 21:15Speaker 2: What does this mean moving forward if they continue this?
- 21:18Speaker 2: And how could this change the way that we interact
- 21:20Speaker 2: with them? Because I think there's a lot of Americans
- 21:23Speaker 2: right now they're like, look, if we're gonna call them terrasts,
- 21:26Speaker 2: let's go after them like they're terrorists.
- 21:28Speaker 1: How dare them be allowed to do this?
- 21:31Speaker 4: Well, I believe we're gonna do that.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I believe we're starting with we saw on January twentieth,
- 21:37Speaker 3: President Trump securing the border. We've seen the numbers of
- 21:41Speaker 3: illegal crossings plummet, drop ninety percent. We're gonna go after them.
- 21:47Speaker 3: We're gonna go after them. We're gonna go after the
- 21:48Speaker 3: people who are here, the murderers, the rapist, the child molesters,
- 21:52Speaker 3: the the gang members, we're resting them, we're deporting them,
- 21:56Speaker 3: we're gonna send them back, but we're also stopping the
- 21:59Speaker 3: traffic coming in, the human traffickers, the drug traffickers. That
- 22:03Speaker 3: is impacting the cartel's bottom lines. But I think we're
- 22:06Speaker 3: going to use leverage to go after the cartels directly
- 22:11Speaker 3: and try to Joe Biden and the Democrats gave billions
- 22:17Speaker 3: of dollars to the cartels, a stat you and I
- 22:20Speaker 3: have talked about multiple times, but it's a stunning stat.
- 22:23Speaker 3: In twenty eighteen, the Mexican draw cartels made roughly five
- 22:28Speaker 3: hundred million dollars from human trafficking. Five hundred million dollars
- 22:32Speaker 3: is a lot of money. Last year they made thirteen
- 22:37Speaker 3: billion dollars, a two thousand, six hundred percent increase. That
- 22:43Speaker 3: is ending now, and I have every confidence the Trump
- 22:46Speaker 3: administration is going to go after their money.
- 22:49Speaker 4: It's going to go after them directly, and.
- 22:51Speaker 3: You are going to see the cartels targeted, just like
- 22:54Speaker 3: we target al Qaeda and Hamas and Hezbola. The days
- 22:58Speaker 3: of the cartels arising Americans, those days are.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Ending, yeah, thank goodness. And there's clearly a mandate from
- 23:05Speaker 2: the American people. While we may have won this election.
- 23:08Speaker 2: The fight to restore our great nation is only beginning,
- 23:11Speaker 2: and now is the time to take a stand, and
- 23:13Speaker 2: Patriot Mobile is leading the charge. It has never been
- 23:17Speaker 2: easier to switch your cell phone than in twenty twenty five.
- 23:21Speaker 2: With technology, you can do it literally over the phone
- 23:24Speaker 2: with a code they send you. It is amazing. But
- 23:27Speaker 2: here's the reason why I use Patriot Mobile now. One
- 23:31Speaker 2: I save money over what I was paying before with
- 23:33Speaker 2: Big Mobile. And two, I'm no longer supporting the radical
- 23:37Speaker 2: left now. I didn't realize until someone told me just
- 23:40Speaker 2: how radical Big Mobile had gotten. Where they are supporting
- 23:43Speaker 2: organizations that pay for abortions or supporting radical democratic causes
- 23:47Speaker 2: and organizations they're helping democrats get elect it at the local, state,
- 23:51Speaker 2: and national level. That is actually why over a decade
- 23:55Speaker 2: ago Patriot Mobile was started and they are now America's
- 23:58Speaker 2: only Christian conservative wireless provider.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Now, let's talk about coverage.
- 24:03Speaker 2: In twenty twenty five, you have zero problems with coverage
- 24:07Speaker 2: anymore because well, Patriot Mobile uses all three major networks.
- 24:11Speaker 1: What does that mean for you?
- 24:13Speaker 2: It means whatever coverage you're used to now you're going
- 24:15Speaker 2: to stay exactly the same or you may even be
- 24:18Speaker 2: able to improve it, but it will not be any
- 24:21Speaker 2: issues when it comes to coverage. In fact, they have
- 24:23Speaker 2: a coverage guarantee. But when you pay your bill, this
- 24:26Speaker 2: is where the magic happens. They take a portion of
- 24:29Speaker 2: your bill every month and they give it back to
- 24:31Speaker 2: organizations that support our first and our second amendments that
- 24:35Speaker 2: support the sanctity of life, that support our veterans, our
- 24:39Speaker 2: first responders, and are wounded warriors. And like I said,
- 24:42Speaker 2: switching with technology now has never been easier. You keep
- 24:46Speaker 2: your same phone you have now, keep your same phone number,
- 24:49Speaker 2: and you can even upgrade to a new phone if
- 24:50Speaker 2: you want to. They have a one hundred percent US
- 24:53Speaker 2: based customer support team to help you find the perfect
- 24:56Speaker 2: plan and to save money. And if you own a
- 24:59Speaker 2: business or a small all business, they have a division
- 25:01Speaker 2: that just works on switching multiple lines over easily. So
- 25:05Speaker 2: make a difference with every call you make. Go to
- 25:07Speaker 2: Patriot Mobile dot com slash verdict. That's Patriot Mobile dot
- 25:12Speaker 2: com slash verdict, and stand up for what you believe
- 25:14Speaker 2: in with every call you make, with every text you said,
- 25:17Speaker 2: Patriot Mobile dot com slash verdict or nine seven to
- 25:21Speaker 2: Patriot and you're gonna get a free month of service
- 25:24Speaker 2: with a promo code verdict that's nine seven to Patriot
- 25:29Speaker 2: or Patriot mobile dot com slash verdict. Join me and
- 25:32Speaker 2: make a difference with that bill. You're going to have
- 25:34Speaker 2: every month and fight for what you believe in patriotmobile
- 25:38Speaker 2: dot com slash verdict all right center. Lastly, there is
- 25:41Speaker 2: a war that is taking place between Donald Trump and
- 25:45Speaker 2: certain states that are saying we're not going to listen
- 25:48Speaker 2: to you. Maine now is the latest state to tell
- 25:53Speaker 2: the DOJ. In essence, this is adding to California and
- 25:56Speaker 2: Minnesota saying we're not going to comply with a federal
- 25:59Speaker 2: laws protecting girls' sports. I'm trying to figure this out.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Is this pure arrogance or is this a political move
- 26:08Speaker 2: by the radical left to say we're not going to
- 26:11Speaker 2: comply and we think it's going to be good for
- 26:14Speaker 2: us to raise money and for our base break this
- 26:17Speaker 2: down for us.
- 26:17Speaker 4: What do you think, Well, listen.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Unfortunately, elected Democrats remain radical that they have not learned
- 26:25Speaker 3: any lessons from the November election. So if you look
- 26:29Speaker 3: at Democrats in Congress, if you looked at Democrat governors,
- 26:33Speaker 3: they continue to support open borders. They continue to support
- 26:37Speaker 3: releasing murderers and rapists and child molesters into this country.
- 26:41Speaker 3: You look at we talked about this in last week's pod,
- 26:44Speaker 3: how Massachusetts is literally releasing violent child rapists who are
- 26:51Speaker 3: illegal immigrants rather than turn them over to Ice to
- 26:54Speaker 3: be deported. And I got to say, look, this is
- 26:58Speaker 3: not a sixty forty issue, it's not a sty issue.
- 27:02Speaker 3: This is an eighty twenty or a ninety ten issue.
- 27:05Speaker 3: I mean, if you ask any rational, insane person a
- 27:10Speaker 3: violent child rapist, should we release him into our community,
- 27:16Speaker 3: Any rational person, most normal Democrats would say, hell no,
- 27:20Speaker 3: that's a dumb ass idea. And yet the elected Democrats
- 27:25Speaker 3: in Massachusetts, their answer is let them go. We are
- 27:29Speaker 3: opposed to deporting anyone, no matter how vile. That They're
- 27:33Speaker 3: continuing the same position on on they continue to support.
- 27:38Speaker 3: The Democrats in Congress continue to support sterilizing and castrating
- 27:44Speaker 3: children for sex change operations. Again, that's an eighty twenty issue.
- 27:48Speaker 3: They're on the wrong side of it, but they're listening
- 27:50Speaker 3: to their radical base. And when it comes to men
- 27:54Speaker 3: and women's sports, this is another eighty twenty issue. The
- 27:57Speaker 3: American people don't want competing against their daughters. They don't
- 28:02Speaker 3: want men competing against women, and yet the Democrats are
- 28:06Speaker 3: all in on that.
- 28:07Speaker 4: And I've been amazed.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Normally, when your party gets clabbered in an election, you
- 28:14Speaker 3: go and reassess, gosh, maybe we miscalibrated, Maybe we should
- 28:17Speaker 3: change where we stand. The Democrats are not doing that.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And so what happened this week is Pambondy, the new
- 28:24Speaker 3: Attorney General, targeted in particular three states, targeted Maine, California,
- 28:33Speaker 3: and Minnesota, and she issued a warning to them that
- 28:36Speaker 3: those states have to comply with federal anti discrimination laws
- 28:40Speaker 3: that require them to keep boys at a girl sports.
- 28:43Speaker 3: And here's what Pambondi said, quote, This Department of Justice
- 28:47Speaker 3: will defend women and does not tolerate state officials who
- 28:52Speaker 3: ignore federal law. We will leverage every legal option necessary
- 28:58Speaker 3: to ensure eight compliance with federal law and President Trump's
- 29:03Speaker 3: executive order protecting women's sports. And she continues, The Department
- 29:08Speaker 3: of Justice says, quote, as President Trump's recent executive order
- 29:12Speaker 3: one four to two zero one on the subject explains,
- 29:16Speaker 3: allowing men and boys to compete in women's and girl
- 29:18Speaker 3: sports quote is demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls.
- 29:25Speaker 3: This practice is also illegal under federal law. It denies
- 29:30Speaker 3: women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel
- 29:34Speaker 3: in competitive sports in violation of Title nine of the
- 29:39Speaker 3: Educational Amendments of nineteen seventy two. And so understand, the
- 29:43Speaker 3: Department of Justice is making clear they intend to sue
- 29:45Speaker 3: these states and they intend to cut off federal funds
- 29:48Speaker 3: to these states if they continue to embrace the radical
- 29:52Speaker 3: notion that they're going to let boys compete in girl sports.
- 29:55Speaker 3: We talked about in Monday's pod how the governor Maine
- 29:59Speaker 3: is in open defiance, saying to hell with you, We'll
- 30:02Speaker 3: see you in court. It's amazing democrats continue to embrace
- 30:06Speaker 3: these radical positions.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is.
