- 0:12Speaker 1: capital back. We're taking it back.

- 0:23Speaker 3: one big story today, Donald Trump putting the DC Police
- 0:27Speaker 3: Department under federal control, deploying the National Guard, and getting
- 0:31Speaker 3: every federal resource involved to make America's capital safe again.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Could this be a blueprint for success around the country
- 0:40Speaker 3: And why is the President doing it right now? Plus
- 0:43Speaker 3: why are Democrats losing their minds over this, calling the
- 0:46Speaker 3: president a dictator a tyrant for trying to keep Americans safe.

- 1:38Speaker 3: the reason why they start this company. They are sick
- 1:41Speaker 3: and tired of giving their money to companies that hate

- 2:49Speaker 3: it's a forty seven Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Donald Trump promised all Americans, no matter where you lived,
- 2:57Speaker 3: even in a liberal city, that he was gonna do
- 3:00Speaker 3: everything in his power to keep you safe. He also
- 3:03Speaker 3: said he was going to crack down on drugs, cartels,
- 3:06Speaker 3: naming them terrorists organizations, and stopping the flow of illegal
- 3:10Speaker 3: immigrants across the southern border. The President is making good
- 3:13Speaker 3: on all of those promises, and now there's a new one,
- 3:17Speaker 3: and it's making liberals lose their mind. The President invokes
- 3:21Speaker 3: section seven forty of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act,
- 3:27Speaker 3: allowing him to take over the Metropolitan Police Department and
- 3:30Speaker 3: deploy the National Guard under declaration of a public safety emergency. Democrats,
- 3:37Speaker 3: of course, are angry that the president of United States
- 3:39Speaker 3: of America may actually save lives, get drugs off the streets,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and restore law and order to our nation's capital. So
- 3:45Speaker 3: what are they doing. They're saying, this is what a
- 3:48Speaker 3: dictator and a tyrant would do. Yes, Democrats are so
- 3:52Speaker 3: unhinged now they're claiming that as the President's trying to
- 3:55Speaker 3: save lives, that he's somehow a dictator. Now, the scale
- 3:59Speaker 3: of the deployment will be up to eight hundred National
- 4:02Speaker 3: Guard troops and around five hundred federal law enforcement personnel,
- 4:06Speaker 3: including over one hundred FBI agents, plus members from the DEA,
- 4:11Speaker 3: the atf, ICE, and US marshals. They're all being deployed
- 4:16Speaker 3: to patrol the streets in Washington, d C. Trump's justification
- 4:20Speaker 3: very simple. He described the city as descending into chaos,
- 4:24Speaker 3: using words like bloodshed to frame the intervention as a
- 4:28Speaker 3: liberation day. He warned similar federal actions could extend to
- 4:34Speaker 3: other big cities such as New York and Los Angeles. Now,
- 4:38Speaker 3: what does the crime data show? It actually shows, thank goodness,
- 4:41Speaker 3: that violent crime across the country is coming down. Why
- 4:44Speaker 3: because the President's backing law enforcement and allowing them to
- 4:48Speaker 3: do their job. And we're also witnessing ice agents taking
- 4:51Speaker 3: hardened criminals off the streets that are in the country illegally.
- 4:55Speaker 3: This is exactly why the president is having such success. Now,
- 5:00Speaker 3: responses are obviously different depending on if you're a Democrat
- 5:04Speaker 3: or Republican. Mayor Bowser condemned the move as quote unsettling
- 5:09Speaker 3: in DC and unprecedented, asserting the city doesn't meet legal
- 5:13Speaker 3: criteria she claims for a federal emergency. Yes, she cares
- 5:17Speaker 3: more about playing politics than saving lives. She puts instead
- 5:20Speaker 3: for more judicial resources and staffing. Again, bureaucracy over policing.
- 5:26Speaker 3: DC's Attorney general is exploring legal options, they're saying as well,
- 5:31Speaker 3: and the DC City Council members called the move an
- 5:34Speaker 3: intrusion on local authority quote unquote, this is all politics
- 5:39Speaker 3: for them instead of actually protecting Americans. I want you
- 5:42Speaker 3: to hear what the President had to say as he
- 5:44Speaker 3: announces to the White House in his own words.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Under the authorities vested in me as the President of
- 5:50Speaker 1: the United States, I'm officially invoking section seventy forty of
- 5:53Speaker 1: the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, you know what
- 5:56Speaker 1: that is, and placing the DC Metropolitan Police Department and
- 6:00Speaker 1: under direct federal control. And you'll be meeting the people
- 6:03Speaker 1: that will be directly involved with that. Very good people,
- 6:07Speaker 1: but they're tough, and they know what's happening. They've done
- 6:10Speaker 1: it before. In addition, I'm deploying the National Guard to
- 6:14Speaker 1: help re establish law order of public safety in Washington,
- 6:18Speaker 1: d C. And they're going to be allowed to do
- 6:20Speaker 1: their job properly.
- 6:21Speaker 3: They're going to be allowed to do their job properly.
- 6:25Speaker 3: That is the core point of what President Trump has
- 6:27Speaker 3: been saying over and over again when it comes to
- 6:30Speaker 3: law enforcement. Let law enforcement officers do their jobs the
- 6:35Speaker 3: right way. Now, how do we get to this point? Well,
- 6:38Speaker 3: the President also talked about the radicals in DC, for example,
- 6:41Speaker 3: having no cash bail and it's putting people's lives at risk.
- 6:45Speaker 1: This dire public safety crisis stems directly from the abject
- 6:50Speaker 1: failures of the city's local leadership. The radical city Council
- 6:54Speaker 1: adopted no cash bail. By the way, every place in
- 6:58Speaker 1: the country you have no cash is a disaster. That's
- 7:01Speaker 1: what started the problem in New York, and they don't
- 7:03Speaker 1: change it. They don't want to change it. That's what
- 7:06Speaker 1: started it in Chicago. I mean, bad politicians started and
- 7:10Speaker 1: bad leadership started it. But that was the one thing
- 7:12Speaker 1: that's central. No cash bail. Somebody murders somebody and they're
- 7:16Speaker 1: out on no cash bail before the day is out.
- 7:19Speaker 1: We're going to end that in Chicago. We're going to
- 7:22Speaker 1: change the statute. I spoke with Pam and Todd and everybody.
- 7:25Speaker 1: We're going to change the statue. And I'm going to
- 7:27Speaker 1: have to get the Republicans to vote because the Democrats
- 7:30Speaker 1: are week on crime, totally weak on.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Crime, totally week on crime. The stats say he's absolutely accurate.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And the President United States of America saying, this is
- 7:40Speaker 3: our moment to shine, to take back our nation's capital,
- 7:44Speaker 3: and we're not going to allow Democrats to hold us
- 7:46Speaker 3: hostage any longer. Ag BONDI also saying this about what's
- 7:50Speaker 3: happening in DC.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Let me be crystal clear, crime in DC is ending
- 7:54Speaker 4: and ending today. We are going to use every power
- 7:58Speaker 4: we have to fight. I'm your president. Thank you for
- 8:01Speaker 4: caring about our capital. Families come here every summer. Our
- 8:06Speaker 4: museums are free, we have the National Zoo, we have
- 8:10Speaker 4: the National Gallery. DC should be a place where everyone
- 8:14Speaker 4: can come and feel safe.
- 8:17Speaker 3: It's all about safety. That is the presen's number one
- 8:20Speaker 3: priority for all Americans, and yet Democrats are doing everything
- 8:25Speaker 3: they can to try to stop the President from accomplishing
- 8:28Speaker 3: this goal. Donald Trump also saying this as well, about
- 8:32Speaker 3: what's happening in DC.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Becoming a situation of complete and total lawlessness. And we
- 8:38Speaker 1: getting rid of the slums too. We have slums here.
- 8:40Speaker 2: We getting rid of them.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I know it's not politically correct, you'll say, oh, so terrible. No,
- 8:45Speaker 1: we're getting rid of the slums where they live.
- 8:48Speaker 3: We're getting rid of the slums. Now. You listen also
- 8:51Speaker 3: to something else on this Liberation Day, and that is
- 8:54Speaker 3: again the President saying we're taking our capital back. The
- 8:57Speaker 3: man who's in charge of the Department of Defense, Pete Headseth,
- 9:00Speaker 3: went on Laura Ingram Show, and this is what he
- 9:03Speaker 3: had to say about what the President has ordered him
- 9:06Speaker 3: to do.
- 9:06Speaker 5: This capital belongs to all Americans, and starting now, we're
- 9:10Speaker 5: taking it back. And that's the angle. Secretary of Defense
- 9:13Speaker 5: Pete Hegseth was given the tall order of handling this
- 9:16Speaker 5: and he's here with me exclusively. Mister Secretary, thank you
- 9:19Speaker 5: for joining us tonight. So the President called this a
- 9:22Speaker 5: public safety emergency, and you said, we're going to start
- 9:25Speaker 5: seeing the National Guard this week, tell us more this
- 9:29Speaker 5: week and incoming weeks, and we're going to work right
- 9:32Speaker 5: alongside our law enforcement partners as force multipliers.
- 9:35Speaker 6: This is what the American people voted for, Laura. This
- 9:38Speaker 6: is what the common sense, clarity strength. I hadn't heard
- 9:41Speaker 6: that story from President Trump before the story he told
- 9:43Speaker 6: about his father that he told him, hey, son, if
- 9:46Speaker 6: you look at the front door of a restaurant and
- 9:47Speaker 6: it's dirty, then I bet the kitchen you can count
- 9:50Speaker 6: on the fact that the kitchen is too and sat
- 9:51Speaker 6: there thinking that's exactly right. If our capital city is
- 9:54Speaker 6: a mess, if we can't control our capital city, then
- 9:57Speaker 6: what does the rest of the country look like and
- 9:59Speaker 6: what signals does the rest the country take from that? So,
- 10:01Speaker 6: just like we did in Los Angeles, alongside our federal law,
- 10:03Speaker 6: we took a lot of criticism for four thousand troops,
- 10:06Speaker 6: seven hundred marines, you know what we didn't get. There
- 10:08Speaker 6: was no summer of love in twenty twenty. There was
- 10:10Speaker 6: in twenty twenty five. There was a summer of law enforcement,
- 10:13Speaker 6: and we quelled the protests of the attacks on ice officers.
- 10:16Speaker 6: We're going to help get DC under control by working
- 10:19Speaker 6: with local officials who have been federalized, with federal officials
- 10:22Speaker 6: who are coming in. The DC Guards proud to be
- 10:25Speaker 6: a part of it. Other states will contribute this week,
- 10:27Speaker 6: going into the weeks to come. Whatever's needed, the DoD
- 10:30Speaker 6: will provide to make sure this is a safe city
- 10:33Speaker 6: for those who live here, for those that work here,
- 10:35Speaker 6: and the Americans who want to come visit here and
- 10:38Speaker 6: love our capital city.
- 10:39Speaker 5: The question of martial law keeps getting raised by the
- 10:43Speaker 5: left that Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth they want to
- 10:46Speaker 5: impose martial law as authoritarians would.
- 10:50Speaker 6: To that, you said to that, I say, look at
- 10:52Speaker 6: Los Angeles. They said the exact same thing. Oh look,
- 10:55Speaker 6: oh look, four thousand troops California National Guard. Oh look
- 10:58Speaker 6: the marine you can't put in the marie is what
- 11:00Speaker 6: they were. The troops available to ensure that we de
- 11:03Speaker 6: escalated the situation and didn't allow other lawbreakers to say, look,
- 11:07Speaker 6: it's wide open. We can do whatever we want in
- 11:08Speaker 6: these sanctuary cities. I was told, oh, you're going to
- 11:12Speaker 6: lock up political opponents, You're going to go after democrats, YadA, YadA.
- 11:15Speaker 6: It's the same stuff every time, mischaracterizing our intentions. The
- 11:18Speaker 6: intentions of this president is to establish law and order
- 11:21Speaker 6: using legal and lawful and constitutional means, which he completely
- 11:25Speaker 6: has and you know what, you know why they don't
- 11:26Speaker 6: like him. He's got the guts to do it. He's
- 11:28Speaker 6: got the guts to say I'm going to federalize the
- 11:30Speaker 6: police that are that don't work. I'm going to bring
- 11:32Speaker 6: in the National Guard, I'm going to bring in federal marshals.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I'm going to bring in the park police. What is
- 11:40Speaker 5: the cost money? Right, cost money? And the question is
- 11:44Speaker 5: are you there for a year? Are you there for
- 11:47Speaker 5: six months? And when the troops pull out? What happened?
- 11:50Speaker 6: I would call this conditions based. I would say it's
- 11:52Speaker 6: a situation where we're here to support law enforcement, and
- 11:56Speaker 6: the more we can free them up to do their job,
- 11:58Speaker 6: the more effective they can be, the more we can work.
- 12:00Speaker 6: I mean, this isn't my realm, but the justice system
- 12:02Speaker 6: to make sure people who are arrested are actually locked up.
- 12:05Speaker 6: That's why the president's talking about cash list, bear bail,
- 12:07Speaker 6: and sanctuary cities. If you're illegal here in DC, that's
- 12:10Speaker 6: going to be a problem. So all of these things
- 12:12Speaker 6: that apply to law and order are our front and
- 12:14Speaker 6: center for us. And I don't know weeks, months, what
- 12:17Speaker 6: will it take. That's the President's call, but we're going
- 12:19Speaker 6: to be there for him to execute as swiftly as possible.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Well then as swiftly as possible. This is what you
- 12:25Speaker 3: voted for and the presence delivering on that promise of
- 12:29Speaker 3: having safer cities, safer streets, safer capital, and making sure
- 12:34Speaker 3: we are protecting everyone in this country, regardless of who
- 12:38Speaker 3: you voted for.
