Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Burning Blame: How Newsom Fanned California's Wildfires
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: There is a narrative that is happening right now, and
- 0:03Speaker 1: that is that you and the people in California, specifically
- 0:07Speaker 1: those that are affected by these wildfires, should not be
- 0:10Speaker 1: talking about politics. Should not be talking about holding politicians
- 0:15Speaker 1: accountable because there's just too much suffering going on. Should
- 0:19Speaker 1: not be looking at the facts of what actually happened
- 0:22Speaker 1: with these wildfires, why they happened, and was their government
- 0:26Speaker 1: mismanagement because if you do that, well, you're not a
- 0:30Speaker 1: very nice person.
- 0:31Speaker 2: The media, by the way, is not asking questions.
- 0:34Speaker 1: And I tweeted out something earlier today that a lot
- 0:37Speaker 1: of people got angry over on the left, and I'm
- 0:39Speaker 1: going to read you the tweet right now because I
- 0:42Speaker 1: think it's actually an important one. And what I said
- 0:46Speaker 1: was is I said, if Ron DeSantis, we're the governor
- 0:49Speaker 1: and just one fire hydrant ran out of water during
- 0:52Speaker 1: a massive fire, the media would call it hydrant gait
- 0:56Speaker 1: and demand a congressional investigation the truth. They would also
- 1:01Speaker 1: be blaming DeSantis or Trump or anybody else in this
- 1:04Speaker 1: situation if they were in charge in California with people's deaths,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and they would be saying people are dying, and they
- 1:11Speaker 1: would be demanding that they resign.
- 1:15Speaker 2: But what is the media doing right now?
- 1:17Speaker 1: The media is doing everything they can to not have
- 1:21Speaker 1: that conversation.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'll give you a great example.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Justin Trudeau, who has nothing to do with California, he
- 1:29Speaker 1: is not an American leader, was on Jake Tapper's show.
- 1:34Speaker 1: And this just shows you how much Jake Tapper sucks
- 1:36Speaker 1: at his job, Like, why on the hell would you
- 1:39Speaker 1: have him on.
- 1:39Speaker 2: To talk about the wildfires.
- 1:41Speaker 1: This is literally a leader who just resigned in another country,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and as there are five major wildfires that are that
- 1:48Speaker 1: are zero percent contained in Los Angeles and and this
- 1:53Speaker 1: is massive, like looks like a nuclear destruction of this
- 1:58Speaker 1: beautiful place. He has on Trudeau, a leader in Canada
- 2:03Speaker 1: who's disgraced, who has just resigned, and has a conversation
- 2:07Speaker 1: with him about the wildfires. It makes no sense except
- 2:11Speaker 1: for the fact that you don't want to hold the
- 2:13Speaker 1: people accountable that made the decisions that allowed for this
- 2:17Speaker 1: to happen.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Now, I want to be clear, I don't think that.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I should hold back at all, and I don't think
- 2:23Speaker 1: I should wait for the fires to go out before
- 2:26Speaker 1: I start asking questions. I think right now is the
- 2:29Speaker 1: time to start asking those questions and most importantly, demanding answers,
- 2:34Speaker 1: because this is exactly how democrats get away with this.
- 2:38Speaker 1: No one's willing to point the finger and ask questions
- 2:41Speaker 1: and place blame, and they protect all these leaders at
- 2:44Speaker 1: all costs, every single time something happens. And if you
- 2:47Speaker 1: don't believe me, look at what happened when we pulled
- 2:49Speaker 1: out of Afghanistan.
- 2:51Speaker 2: No one was fired.
- 2:53Speaker 1: When we pulled out of Afghanistan, the disaster that cost
- 2:56Speaker 1: people their lives, no one was fired. After we saw
- 3:00Speaker 1: the incompetency play out on TV live on TV. Nobody
- 3:06Speaker 1: at the Pentagon was fired. Nobody at the State Department,
- 3:09Speaker 1: no one at the White House. No one was held
- 3:12Speaker 1: accountable for that. And my point is, when there are
- 3:15Speaker 1: things that are happening, it is okay to ask questions
- 3:19Speaker 1: while they're happening, while the spotlight is on what's happening.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You do not wait till the spotlight moves to another story.
- 3:25Speaker 1: You ask questions. Now, CNN doing everything they can, however,
- 3:29Speaker 1: to protect those in charge. So like, all right, let's
- 3:31Speaker 1: bring out a guy from Canada that has no say
- 3:33Speaker 1: so in this Who's disgrace, and let's ask him about
- 3:36Speaker 1: the wildfires and you want to know, by the way,
- 3:38Speaker 1: what he said exactly what I would expect from Trudeau.
- 3:42Speaker 1: They're doing exactly what Democrats in California are doing right
- 3:45Speaker 1: now that are in charge. They're blaming these fires, by
- 3:47Speaker 1: the way, not on arsonists. And we know now that
- 3:49Speaker 1: some of these fires were in fact started by arsonists.
- 3:52Speaker 1: We have seen multiple calls come into nine to one
- 3:55Speaker 1: of people setting fires in California over the last several days.
- 3:59Speaker 1: It's it's not a conspiracy theory, it's a reality. No
- 4:02Speaker 1: one wants to talk about that because what.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Do they want to blame. They want to blame climate change.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And why did they have Trudeau on CNN while there's
- 4:11Speaker 1: these five major wildfires that are destroying LA and some
- 4:16Speaker 1: of them were arson why did.
- 4:19Speaker 2: They have them on?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Because they want to blame somebody else. They don't want
- 4:22Speaker 1: to blame the Democrats. They want to blame climate change,
- 4:25Speaker 1: which by default means blame Republicans.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Before I get into the funeral, and before I get
- 4:31Speaker 3: into what's going on with you back in your home country,
- 4:34Speaker 3: I do want to ask you know, our country in
- 4:37Speaker 3: the world really is watching these horrible fires in Los Angeles.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Canada has a lot of experience with similar conflagrations. I
- 4:47Speaker 3: know that you have been offering resources to the people
- 4:51Speaker 3: of California and Los Angeles.
- 4:52Speaker 2: What advice could you offer them?
- 4:54Speaker 4: Well, I think unfortunately, over the past years, we've seen
- 4:57Speaker 4: it get far worse, and we've seen wildfire is increasingly
- 5:02Speaker 4: encroaching on urban areas, and that's an interface fire where
- 5:05Speaker 4: we're having to train up more local municipal firefighters to
- 5:09Speaker 4: deal with wildfires in a way that we never had before.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I've been back and forth texting with Governor Newsom. We've
- 5:17Speaker 4: offered a tremendous amount of equipment they're already accepting. There's expertise,
- 5:22Speaker 4: there's things that we're having to do to deal with
- 5:24Speaker 4: together as we of course respond to these fires, but
- 5:28Speaker 4: also know that climate change means they're going to get
- 5:30Speaker 4: steadily worse, and we have to keep stepping up on
- 5:33Speaker 4: fighting climate change too.
- 5:34Speaker 2: A lot of people out there.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Might say, what does climate change have to do with this?
- 5:37Speaker 4: Explain Well, when the summers get drier, when weather gets hotter,
- 5:41Speaker 4: when weather patterns shift, Communities that were built in a
- 5:45Speaker 4: place that you never saw fires are suddenly seeing fires
- 5:49Speaker 4: much more frequently. There's a shift in everything that means
- 5:53Speaker 4: even what we see now is going to just get
- 5:55Speaker 4: worse and worse and worse over the coming decades if
- 5:58Speaker 4: we're not serious about our emissions and looking for ways
- 6:03Speaker 4: to protect our future generations.
- 6:05Speaker 1: It is unbelievable the propaganda right there coming from CNN.
- 6:09Speaker 1: As all this has happened, they're not asking any questions now,
- 6:13Speaker 1: the questions that CNN should be asking, by the way,
- 6:17Speaker 1: on behalf of the American people is the same question
- 6:23Speaker 1: that was asked of Governor Newsom when a woman wearing
- 6:26Speaker 1: a mask ran up to Gavin Newsom on the streets
- 6:29Speaker 1: when she saw him, and she said this to Gavin Newsom,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Listen carefully. This is a citizen. I don't know if
- 6:36Speaker 1: she's conservative or liberal. I don't care. She is an
- 6:39Speaker 1: American citizen. She's a citizen in California. She's a citizen
- 6:42Speaker 1: there where this where the fires are happening, and she
- 6:45Speaker 1: sees the governor on the street. And listen to what
- 6:48Speaker 1: she says. This is what the media should be doing. Governor,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you got a second.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Governor.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Governor, I live here.
- 6:56Speaker 5: Governor, that was my daughter's school.
- 6:58Speaker 6: Governor, please tell me where you're gonna I'm not going
- 7:00Speaker 6: to hurt on my promise.
- 7:01Speaker 7: I'm literally talking to the President right now to specifically
- 7:05Speaker 7: answer the question of what we can do.
- 7:07Speaker 2: For you and your daughter? Can I hear it? Can
- 7:09Speaker 2: I hear your call? Because I don't believe it? I'm sorry?
- 7:14Speaker 2: Can I there's literally I've tried five times. That's why
- 7:16Speaker 2: I'm walking around to me. Why is the President not
- 7:18Speaker 2: taking your call? Because it's not going through? Why I
- 7:21Speaker 2: have to get cell service?
- 7:22Speaker 8: Let's get it, let's get it. I want to be
- 7:24Speaker 8: here when you call the President.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I appreciate I'm doing that right now, and it's to
- 7:29Speaker 2: immediately get reimbursements, individual.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Assistance, and to help you on with death is looking
- 7:33Speaker 1: for I'm so sorry, especially for your daughter.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I have four kids.
- 7:38Speaker 6: Everyone who went to school there, they lost their homes.
- 7:42Speaker 2: They lost two homes because they were living in one
- 7:44Speaker 2: and building another.
- 7:46Speaker 8: Cather, please tell me, tell me what are you going
- 7:48Speaker 8: to do with the president.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Right now, we're getting we're getting the resources to help rebuild.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Why is there no daughter in the hydrantscopy? That's all? Literally?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Is it going to be different next time? It has
- 7:59Speaker 2: to be has to be. What are you going to
- 8:02Speaker 2: do to fill the hydrants? I would fill them up personally.
- 8:05Speaker 2: And you know that I.
- 8:07Speaker 9: Would fill up the hydrants myself, but.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Would you do that? I wouldn't do whatever I can,
- 8:12Speaker 2: but you're not.
- 8:13Speaker 9: I see the Do you know there's water dripping over there?
- 8:16Speaker 6: Governor?
- 8:17Speaker 2: There's water coming out there? You can use it. I
- 8:19Speaker 2: appreciate it.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I'm going to make the call to address everything I
- 8:23Speaker 3: can right now, including making sure people.
- 8:26Speaker 2: To make sure you can. Can I have an opportunity
- 8:28Speaker 2: to at least tell people you're doing what you're saying
- 8:30Speaker 2: you're doing. Can somebody have a contact? Can I have
- 8:33Speaker 2: your contact right now?
- 8:37Speaker 1: This is a woman on the streets that doesn't believe
- 8:39Speaker 1: that the governor's doing his job.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Why was there no water in the hydrance? I'm trying
- 8:44Speaker 2: to figure that out.
- 8:47Speaker 1: The questions that should be asked, and I put out
- 8:49Speaker 1: a tweet with this the questions they should be asked,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and many of them you can answer. You just have
- 8:56Speaker 1: to look at their policies. Why was there not water
- 8:59Speaker 1: in the hide well? Probably because they didn't fill up
- 9:02Speaker 1: the reservoirs. And why do they not fill up the
- 9:05Speaker 1: reservoirs because they destroyed dams intentionally and they decide to
- 9:09Speaker 1: push water into the ocean, and they chose smelt fish
- 9:14Speaker 1: over humans. What's even more shocking about what we're witnessing
- 9:20Speaker 1: in California is the media says now is not the
- 9:23Speaker 1: time to ask these questions. The reality is, yes, it is.
- 9:28Speaker 1: They destroyed the dams intentionally. They refuse to do controlled
- 9:32Speaker 1: burns intentionally, They refused to do forest management intentionally, they
- 9:39Speaker 1: refuse to clear dead trees and brush intentionally. And they're
- 9:44Speaker 1: gay fire chief, which, by the way, I don't care
- 9:47Speaker 1: that she's gay. What I do care about is that
- 9:50Speaker 1: the gay fire chief prioritize being gay and diversity equity
- 9:55Speaker 1: inclusion over protecting people's lives, many of.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Them, by the way, which I'm sure are gay.
- 10:02Speaker 1: That's the irony in all this, Like the I don't
- 10:06Speaker 1: care if you're gay fire chief, I don't care.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I care that you.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Thought it was your job to have a three year
- 10:13Speaker 1: plan to make sure you get a bunch of trends
- 10:16Speaker 1: and gay and all the DEI hiring in there, instead
- 10:19Speaker 1: of understanding that your job.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Is to fight fires. That's what I care about.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Make no mistake, the fiery destruction of people's homes and
- 10:27Speaker 1: their lives in Malibu is a direct result of politics.
- 10:33Speaker 1: It is a direct result of the politicians in charge
- 10:36Speaker 1: in Los Angeles and California. And by the way, if
- 10:40Speaker 1: we're gonna be honest about this, they're all Democrats. But
- 10:45Speaker 1: the media says, now is not the time. So a
- 10:48Speaker 1: woman has to run up to the governor and do
- 10:50Speaker 1: her job. And then the media says, no, no, We're
- 10:52Speaker 1: going to talk to Trudeau, a guy from Canada that's disgraced,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and he's going to lecture us about reducing our missions.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Remember Representative Eric Swalwell who slept with a Chinese spy,
- 11:05Speaker 1: Feng Fang bang bang.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Remember that guy.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, MSNBC putting him on TV to talk about this.
- 11:11Speaker 2: What did he say? Listen carefully.
- 11:13Speaker 6: You are both from northern California, and the trauma and
- 11:16Speaker 6: the scars and the tragic earthquakes and fires of the
- 11:19Speaker 6: early nineties are still everywhere you look. It takes not
- 11:23Speaker 6: months or years, but it can take decades to completely
- 11:26Speaker 6: rebuild from catastrophes like this. What can you promise the
- 11:32Speaker 6: people of California in terms of being able to obtain
- 11:35Speaker 6: fire insurance, something that was difficult before this tastrophe.
- 11:38Speaker 8: So I promise, first and foremost to be compassionate and
- 11:42Speaker 8: to be an adult about this, and to ignore people
- 11:47Speaker 8: who have conducted themselves like they belong at the kids
- 11:49Speaker 8: table on this, who are in elected office, but to
- 11:52Speaker 8: focus on the immediate needs. Where are your kids going
- 11:55Speaker 8: to go to school? How do you get the resources
- 11:57Speaker 8: you need to rebuild? What's the reimbursonment to be for
- 12:00Speaker 8: local communities from the federal government so that all of
- 12:03Speaker 8: the infrastructure can be built immediately. And then of course
- 12:06Speaker 8: the questions that need to be answered is to you know,
- 12:09Speaker 8: what can we do in the future to make sure
- 12:10Speaker 8: the response is even better. But in many ways this
- 12:13Speaker 8: is an act of God. Eighty to ninety mile per
- 12:16Speaker 8: hour winds in January in southern California is unseasonable and unpredictable.
- 12:21Speaker 8: But we always can be better in our emergency response.
- 12:24Speaker 8: But right now it's not a time, you know, I
- 12:26Speaker 8: think for finger pointing.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It's a time to think.
- 12:28Speaker 8: The firefighters, the police officers, the first responders, and the
- 12:31Speaker 8: community and then act as quickly as we can to
- 12:34Speaker 8: get people hopefully back to what they felt us home.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Translation, we don't want any finger pointing right now, because
- 12:44Speaker 1: we know the fingers will be pointing.
- 12:46Speaker 2: At us and in our policies. That's what we know.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So let's go through the facts of why this was preventable.
- 12:57Speaker 1: These southern California fires were preventable tragedy full stop. You
- 13:02Speaker 1: want to know how bad it is in California when
- 13:05Speaker 1: it comes to arsonists. There were more than thirteen thousand,
- 13:11Speaker 1: nine hundred and nine fires started by homeless individuals last
- 13:14Speaker 1: year alone in California. Did you know that they knew
- 13:17Speaker 1: this was a real chance that this could happen. They
- 13:19Speaker 1: knew it was a real problem. They knew that if
- 13:22Speaker 1: these Santa Ana wins shifted in the right direction, that
- 13:25Speaker 1: what would happen.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Here is exactly what was going to happen.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And what did they decide to do because they're obsessed with,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I don't know, like some little random fish or some bird.
- 13:33Speaker 1: They had zero forest management. Not only did they have
- 13:36Speaker 1: zero forest management, the mayor out there cut the fire
- 13:41Speaker 1: department funding by seventeen million plus dollars. Firefighters, by the way,
- 13:49Speaker 1: in California were fired for not getting vaccinated because that
- 13:54Speaker 1: mattered more than saving people's lives. California launched a DEI
- 13:59Speaker 1: Bureau instead of focusing on training because they cared more
- 14:02Speaker 1: about if a trainee was shooting water out of a
- 14:05Speaker 1: hose than they did if it was the most qualified
- 14:07Speaker 1: person to be a fireman or woman.
- 14:10Speaker 2: There was no water in the fire hydrants.
- 14:13Speaker 1: And the mayor and the governor knows this because California
- 14:16Speaker 1: purposely didn't fill their reservoirs like they should have to
- 14:19Speaker 1: prepare for this type of fire, which they had been
- 14:22Speaker 1: warned about for years. What they did do, though, is
- 14:26Speaker 1: every time they had a chance to go woke, they
- 14:28Speaker 1: took it. You may not know this, but they were
- 14:32Speaker 1: cheering themselves on in liberal California, the leaders, the mayor,
- 14:35Speaker 1: the fire chief who's gay, the governor. Because in La
- 14:40Speaker 1: they gave firefighting equipment to Ukraine in twenty twenty two.
- 14:44Speaker 1: You know what we saw in video yesterday. We saw
- 14:48Speaker 1: firemen using women's purses.
- 14:50Speaker 2: This is not a.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Joke to fill up water from their truck, run over
- 14:54Speaker 1: to little fires and dump water out of persons.
- 14:56Speaker 2: They didn't have buckets.
- 14:58Speaker 1: You think that firefighting equipment they gave to Ukraine in
- 15:00Speaker 1: twenty twenty two could have been used in this massive fire.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm going to go out and the way Lemon say yes,
- 15:07Speaker 1: And you want to know how many warnings there were
- 15:09Speaker 1: about these fires. Big insurance companies left California due to
- 15:15Speaker 1: two things. Number one, over regulation and number two poor
- 15:20Speaker 1: fire prevention. Slash management is how they described it. Big
- 15:25Speaker 1: insurance companies looked at these policies as woke agenda policies,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and they said, yeah, this didn't make any sense because
- 15:31Speaker 1: you guys aren't doing any forestry management. You aren't doing
- 15:34Speaker 1: control burns, you're not clearing brush. You guys are sitting
- 15:37Speaker 1: there with all the kinneling you can possibly create for.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Something like this to happen.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So big insurance companies, who don't necessarily play politics, just
- 15:46Speaker 1: looked at the scenario that was created by the radical
- 15:49Speaker 1: lefties in California and they said, we're out of here.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Which goes back to the final point that I made
- 15:54Speaker 1: earlier today. Not everything is a conspiracy. It's called liberal incompetent.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I want to say that again, not everything is a conspiracy.
- 16:06Speaker 1: A lot of this can be simply explained by calling
- 16:09Speaker 1: it what it is, and that is liberal incompetence. So
- 16:13Speaker 1: as you sit there and you look at this and
- 16:16Speaker 1: you say, well, maybe now's not the time to talk
- 16:17Speaker 1: about it, absolutely now is the time to talk about it.
- 16:21Speaker 1: These fires that are ravaging Los Angeles are estimated cause
- 16:24Speaker 1: over fifty billion in damages. By the way, maybe we
- 16:27Speaker 1: should stop sending money to Ukraine right now when the
- 16:29Speaker 1: people who are American citizens need this money to rebuild
- 16:33Speaker 1: their lives in California. The other reason why now is
- 16:36Speaker 1: the time to talk about is because it actually I'm
- 16:39Speaker 1: just gonna be honest it this is me off that
- 16:42Speaker 1: as a taxpayer, now I got to pay and it's
- 16:45Speaker 1: gonna be billions and billions of dollars. We're gonna give
- 16:48Speaker 1: a bail out to California because of their incompetency, and
- 16:53Speaker 1: there's gonna be a huge check that's going to be
- 16:55Speaker 1: written because of their incompetency, and you and I as taxpayers,
- 16:58Speaker 1: are going to pay for it.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Is going to cost us.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Now when you take that money, By the way, we're
- 17:03Speaker 1: going to have to borrow that money because we don't
- 17:06Speaker 1: have the money because we have trillions in debts. So
- 17:08Speaker 1: we're going to borrow that money. We're going to pay
- 17:10Speaker 1: interest on that money, and it's going to put us
- 17:12Speaker 1: into even more debt. And the people were rewarding for
- 17:17Speaker 1: their incompetency are people just like the Los Angeles Mayor
- 17:20Speaker 1: Karen Bass, who was on a trip to Ghana when
- 17:23Speaker 1: the fire engulfed large portions of the city. The same
- 17:27Speaker 1: woman the cut nearly twenty million from the city's budget
- 17:29Speaker 1: for fire services for the current fiscal year, and now
- 17:33Speaker 1: it's going to cost us billions of dollars. By the way,
- 17:36Speaker 1: just so you understand the politics of this, the mayor
- 17:40Speaker 1: of Los Angeles, Miss Bass, proposed even higher cuts to
- 17:44Speaker 1: fire than what was accepted at the end at her
- 17:48Speaker 1: west Side current proposal in April of twenty twenty four,
- 17:53Speaker 1: Bass purportedly wanted twenty three million in cuts to the
- 17:57Speaker 1: fire department, quote sick magnificantly. The proposal, describe by Bass
- 18:02Speaker 1: as a reset, included sixty five million and cuts to
- 18:05Speaker 1: her signature inside Safe Homelessness program.
- 18:08Speaker 2: So we're spending more on that than we're spending on
- 18:10Speaker 2: fire prevention.
- 18:12Speaker 1: That would be an increase of more than one hundred
- 18:14Speaker 1: and thirty eight million for the Los Angeles Police Department
- 18:18Speaker 1: and a decrease of twenty three million for the LA
- 18:20Speaker 1: Fire Department. Well, you get what you pay for, folks.
- 18:25Speaker 1: There's also another aspect to this whole conversation, that is, right,
- 18:28Speaker 1: when bad things happen in theory. People come together, right,
- 18:32Speaker 1: you have heroes that come out. We hear sad stories
- 18:35Speaker 1: about people. There's a man that died with a water
- 18:38Speaker 1: hose in his hand trying to save his own house.
- 18:42Speaker 2: You see people that have saved like baby Deer.
- 18:44Speaker 1: In the last couple of hours that have come out
- 18:46Speaker 1: on TV, We've seen people that have been pushing the
- 18:49Speaker 1: elderly from old folks homes away from the blaze as
- 18:52Speaker 1: embers are flying through the air on the street. Right,
- 18:55Speaker 1: there's heroes that come out of this. But you also
- 18:57Speaker 1: have a problem in La. You have a breakdown in
- 19:00Speaker 1: society that's happening before our very eyes. There are a
- 19:04Speaker 1: lot of people now that are taking advantage of this opportunity.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Is looters are coming out in large numbers. Now, why
- 19:10Speaker 1: would that happen? I can tell exactly why. Because you
- 19:12Speaker 1: have a godless, lawless society in La. I'm going to
- 19:17Speaker 1: say that again because I didn't say it by accident,
- 19:19Speaker 1: and there's people to say, well, Ben, that's just me
- 19:21Speaker 1: to say that right now, No, it's not. This is
- 19:23Speaker 1: exactly when you have this conversation. There is godlessness and lawlessness.
- 19:30Speaker 2: In La. They don't prosecute people for breaking into stores.
- 19:35Speaker 1: We've seen this. We look at all the stores in
- 19:37Speaker 1: California that keep closing. They have to lock up everything
- 19:40Speaker 1: at CBS and Walgreens because everything people walk in and steal.
- 19:44Speaker 1: We've seen the videos of people walking into stores and
- 19:46Speaker 1: just grab whatever the hell they want. They walk out,
- 19:48Speaker 1: and they're not prosecuted because if it's under nine hundred
- 19:51Speaker 1: and something dollars, they don't care out there. And now
- 19:54Speaker 1: all of a sudden, the La County District Attorney is
- 19:56Speaker 1: issuing quota warning to potential looters.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Well, you better not do that.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You created a society bro where you didn't prosecute people
- 20:05Speaker 1: for stealing in broad daylight in the stores, and you
- 20:09Speaker 1: let them go because of bail reform in prison reform,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and you did this. So now instead of people saying
- 20:16Speaker 1: like hey, everybody, chill out, no stealing, we'll tell people.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Let's try to say we lives. There's looters out there,
- 20:21Speaker 2: like hey man, this is ours for the take, and
- 20:23Speaker 2: let's go get it. Let's get into break into city.
- 20:26Speaker 1: These nights homes are going to burn down anyway, right,
- 20:28Speaker 1: there's justification for it. Hell, there's probably be like, oh
- 20:32Speaker 1: the lord bless me during that fire. I got me
- 20:34Speaker 1: a big screen TV, a couple of laptops, some iPads,
- 20:38Speaker 1: got me some guns, stole me some furniture. I got
- 20:41Speaker 1: some good stuff. The Lord blessed me. The house goun
- 20:45Speaker 1: burned out. Anyway, right there, I can hear the justification
- 20:48Speaker 1: of the criminals that are involved in this. And now
- 20:52Speaker 1: Nathan Hutcham, Hutchman or whatever the hell's name is, the
- 20:55Speaker 1: LA County District Attorney is out there on TV, which also,
- 20:58Speaker 1: by the way, makes me laugh. Do you think there's
- 21:00Speaker 1: a bunch of people in LA that are looting right
- 21:01Speaker 1: now that are watching you on TV? No, because they're
- 21:03Speaker 1: out there looting. It's like, well, we're going to tell
- 21:05Speaker 1: them they better not loot. Good luck with that, bro.
- 21:08Speaker 1: You create a society where no one's out accountable for
- 21:11Speaker 1: any of their actions. In LA, you can be an illegal,
- 21:13Speaker 1: you can be homeless, you can be a squatter. So
- 21:17Speaker 1: the worst squatting we've seen of houses in the country
- 21:19Speaker 1: are coming out of LA.
- 21:21Speaker 2: You can walk into.
- 21:22Speaker 1: A CBS at Walgreens, or a department store, a Saxo
- 21:25Speaker 1: Fifth Avenue, a Macy's, whatever it is, and you can
- 21:28Speaker 1: steal whatever the hell you want, and you're not gonna
- 21:31Speaker 1: be prosecuted. You created a lawless environment where now you're shocked,
- 21:37Speaker 1: and I think these Hollywood people are like truly shocked,
- 21:40Speaker 1: like they cannot believe that people are just stealing right
- 21:43Speaker 1: now and trying to steal during this time. I totally
- 21:46Speaker 1: can It makes complete sense to me. Every day you
- 21:51Speaker 1: let them get away with it. This is the big one,
- 21:53Speaker 1: this is the Super Bowl. Go into anyhow, steal whatever
- 21:57Speaker 1: the hell you want. And now they're like, well, you
- 21:59Speaker 1: can't do that. Now you're drawing the line. Listen to him,
- 22:02Speaker 1: plead with the criminals, Please don't do this.
- 22:05Speaker 9: Nathan, Why was it important for you to put out
- 22:10Speaker 9: to the world that Instagram.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You know, you have a very big job right now.
- 22:15Speaker 9: We watched you earlier on your news conference talking about looters.
- 22:19Speaker 9: You're going to take a very heavy hand when it
- 22:22Speaker 9: comes to that. But maybe sharing I guess that it's
- 22:26Speaker 9: affecting everybody, including you and your family.
- 22:30Speaker 7: So there's I thought it was very important to make
- 22:33Speaker 7: it clear that I was there, I was a bearing
- 22:37Speaker 7: witness right in the middle of the fire zone, that
- 22:40Speaker 7: it affected my sister, you know, her entire family. I've
- 22:45Speaker 7: personally been evacuated along with thousands of others. There's over
- 22:49Speaker 7: one hundred and eighty thousand people who have been evacuated
- 22:52Speaker 7: in Los Angeles County.
- 22:54Speaker 2: And I want to also make.
- 22:55Speaker 7: Clear to anyone who was thinking about taking advantage of
- 22:58Speaker 7: it for their own personal illegal profit, and those looters,
- 23:02Speaker 7: those scammers, those people who are going to do praying
- 23:07Speaker 7: on vulnerable people who are looking to rebuild their lives,
- 23:11Speaker 7: that they will actually be arrested, they will be prosecuted,
- 23:15Speaker 7: and we will seek maximum punishment against that. Those people
- 23:19Speaker 7: who want to take advantage of this tragedy are despicable,
- 23:23Speaker 7: and I wanted to say in fair warning out to
- 23:25Speaker 7: them right now so there's no misunderstanding about how they
- 23:29Speaker 7: will be treated if and when they get caught, prosecuted
- 23:33Speaker 7: and punished.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I don't I'm sorry, Like, I don't believe you.
- 23:38Speaker 1: If I'm one of these criminals out there, I'm laughing
- 23:40Speaker 1: in your face because I'm like, dude, you guys can't
- 23:42Speaker 1: even put out a fire. You can't even get water
- 23:45Speaker 1: into hoses. You guys can't even do that. Like, do
- 23:50Speaker 1: you really think right now if you are a professional
- 23:53Speaker 1: louter or an amateur out there, you are worried about
- 23:56Speaker 1: what that DA prosecutor just said. I'll go to another example.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Let's go back and again. It just signals the reality.
- 24:04Speaker 1: The Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, she boasted about
- 24:08Speaker 1: being the first female and LGBTQ fire chief in the
- 24:12Speaker 1: LA Fire Department.
- 24:13Speaker 2: And what did she do.
- 24:14Speaker 1: She promote a culture of DEI in her hiring priority
- 24:17Speaker 1: in a three she called it a three year initiative.
- 24:21Speaker 1: A three year initiative, she said she wanted to create
- 24:25Speaker 1: a supporting and promoting a culture that values diversity, inclusion,
- 24:28Speaker 1: equity while striving to meet and exceed the expectations of
- 24:30Speaker 1: the communities. As Chief Crowley's priorities, you get what you
- 24:35Speaker 1: pay for. You push all this woke ideology and this
- 24:39Speaker 1: is what you get. And by the way, Joe Biden
- 24:42Speaker 1: just authorized five hundred million in aid to California and
- 24:45Speaker 1: who lost everything in these fires? Just kidding, just kidding, Sorry,
- 24:49Speaker 1: that was for Ukraine. My bad so far. Joe Biden
- 24:52Speaker 1: is not guaranteed any certain dollar amount of aid to Californias.
- 24:56Speaker 1: That could change. But the time I'm taping this, that's
- 24:58Speaker 1: what's going on.
- 25:00Speaker 2: We had time to.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Give another five hundred million in a to Ukraine, not California,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but to Ukraine. Here's something else you might want to know.
- 25:08Speaker 1: We finally have a clip of the President of the
- 25:10Speaker 1: United States of America. I'm going to play this for
- 25:12Speaker 1: you because it just came in. This just came in.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Here is Joe Biden. I'm going to hear this with
- 25:17Speaker 1: you right now for the first time today.
- 25:20Speaker 10: For Secretary of Defense also authorized five hundred wildfire ground
- 25:26Speaker 10: cleary personnel from the Defense Department, and I've directed the
- 25:29Speaker 10: Department to continue working with covenduson to identify additional resources
- 25:34Speaker 10: that can be provided for public safety and security. And
- 25:38Speaker 10: we've secured additional firefighters and firefighting aircraft from our ally
- 25:43Speaker 10: and Canada as well. I also want everyone in southern
- 25:47Speaker 10: California to know we're going.
- 25:48Speaker 2: To keep at it. We're sticking with this.
- 25:51Speaker 10: We expect there may be a temporary break in the winds,
- 25:54Speaker 10: but in some areas the winds are likely to continue
- 25:56Speaker 10: well in the next week, and so we're going to
- 26:00Speaker 10: continue to sending everything, literally every resource we can find
- 26:06Speaker 10: that's appropriate to help the governor and the first responders. Second,
- 26:11Speaker 10: we're focus on helping people who have been displaced where
- 26:13Speaker 10: in many cases lost everything. You've reported on you're seeing
- 26:17Speaker 10: the homes burned to the ground, whole areas have burned
- 26:20Speaker 10: to the ground, large areas. They've been displaced, and they've
- 26:23Speaker 10: lost everything. As I said, since the fire started, FEMA
- 26:28Speaker 10: has been working with state the state to help residents
- 26:32Speaker 10: get sheltered, groceries, prescription and other critical goods like baby formula.
- 26:37Speaker 10: We're also sent FEMA Director Criswell to Los Angeles to
- 26:42Speaker 10: manage our response on the ground. She was supposed to
- 26:45Speaker 10: be on this call, but we have a deputy here
- 26:46Speaker 10: because she is out in the field with the governor
- 26:49Speaker 10: right now surveying what's going on.
- 26:54Speaker 2: This guy's no clue what's going on. Quote. I want
- 26:57Speaker 2: everyone's out of California to know we're going to keep
- 26:59Speaker 2: at it. We're staying with this. Like what is that?
- 27:02Speaker 2: What does that even mean? Like, we're gonna.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Stick with it, boys, We're gonna We're gonna stick with it,
- 27:08Speaker 1: letting the fires be zero percent contained. Like I'm being serious,
- 27:11Speaker 1: what does that actually mean? Pacific Palisades property owner went
- 27:16Speaker 1: on TV earlier today. His name is Steve Bardak, and
- 27:21Speaker 1: you know what he said. He said, we as residents
- 27:24Speaker 1: we made a mistake. Listen, I think.
- 27:27Speaker 5: Los Angeles made a mistake. Karen Bass does not serve
- 27:31Speaker 5: the interest of LA residents. U Some of the decisions
- 27:35Speaker 5: are nonsensical, such as cutting seventeen point six million dollars
- 27:39Speaker 5: from LA Fire Department's budget but instead prioritizing homelessness where
- 27:44Speaker 5: roughly half of the funds of one point three billion
- 27:47Speaker 5: dollars was not even spent. And it just doesn't make
- 27:51Speaker 5: any sense. You know, where are her priorities, what is
- 27:54Speaker 5: her strategy? Where is the plan she she doesn't have one.
- 27:58Speaker 5: We need a proven leader with that is effective, that
- 28:02Speaker 5: understands priorities, that understands business, like Rick Fruso.
- 28:06Speaker 1: By the way, you want to know why they can't
- 28:08Speaker 1: do this job. They didn't sign up to do this job, folks.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Gavin Newsome didn't sign up to be governor. He signed
- 28:15Speaker 1: up to be a Hollywood celebrity. Karen Bass didn't sign
- 28:21Speaker 1: up to actually be a mayor. She signed up for
- 28:25Speaker 1: the glitzy parties and the celebrity handshakes and the woke
- 28:27Speaker 1: ideology where everybody walk around say you're doing so great,
- 28:30Speaker 1: How many trans people got in your office?
- 28:32Speaker 2: Now, good for you?
- 28:32Speaker 1: How many gay people got in your office? How many
- 28:34Speaker 1: lesbians you got hired? Oh?
- 28:36Speaker 2: I got me a new.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Lesbian up in here, is gonna be in charge of
- 28:38Speaker 1: fire department. Yeah, she's gonna get some more lesbians up
- 28:41Speaker 1: in here, and gave people in some trainees.
- 28:44Speaker 2: They didn't sign up to actually serve the people, folks.
- 28:47Speaker 1: They signed up to be famous with celebrities in a
- 28:50Speaker 1: city where they get to go to all the fun,
- 28:52Speaker 1: glitzy parties. By the way, in these types of disasters,
- 28:58Speaker 1: this is where the.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Governors earned their paycheck.
- 29:01Speaker 1: It's also, by the way, where they earn their paycheck
- 29:03Speaker 1: by making sure they do everything to make sure that
- 29:05Speaker 1: days like this don't happen and fires like this don't happen.
- 29:09Speaker 1: And notice they're still not telling you the truth that
- 29:12Speaker 1: a lot of these fires are being lit by individuals.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Another Malibu resident started crying during an interview with NBC News, saying,
- 29:21Speaker 1: we lost everything we owned. I hope they learn from this,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I really do. Adam Carolla slamming democrats. You may know
- 29:28Speaker 1: him the Adam Carolla Show. This is a guy that's
- 29:31Speaker 1: a comedian. He's a former liberal who's now just sensical.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Here's what he said.
- 29:36Speaker 11: You guys all voted for Karen Bass, the mayor of
- 29:39Speaker 11: Los Angeles, who all voted for Gavin Newsom, And now
- 29:42Speaker 11: you get what you get.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Oh, now that your house is on fire, Well.
- 29:46Speaker 11: Now you're thinking about something else. Now you want to
- 29:49Speaker 11: know what's going on. What's going on around here? All
- 29:52Speaker 11: these people who were deep blue Democrats are now going
- 29:58Speaker 11: to have to pull a permit to rebuild. And when
- 30:01Speaker 11: they start running into the bureaucracy in the red tape,
- 30:04Speaker 11: they're gonna start going nuts and they're gonna vote for
- 30:06Speaker 11: Rick Caruso next time because they want to get That's
- 30:09Speaker 11: all Trump says, We're gonna we're gonna pull back the regulations.
- 30:12Speaker 1: By the way, he's right, you guys all voted for this,
- 30:17Speaker 1: But now that your house is on fire, you start
- 30:19Speaker 1: thinking about something else.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I couldn't agree with him more. And is all this
- 30:24Speaker 2: is happening.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Just remember a lot of this started with a fish,
- 30:28Speaker 1: a fish that they wanted to save, a little fish,
- 30:32Speaker 1: And California burned itself to the ground to save a
- 30:36Speaker 1: little fish and got rid of dams. By the way,
- 30:38Speaker 1: Pride Magazine, Yes it's a real article. Yes this is
- 30:41Speaker 1: a real headline. Pride magazine. Their headline today was this
- 30:45Speaker 1: amid Palisades fire, Comma, los Angeles' first LGBTQ plus fire
- 30:54Speaker 1: chief is proving lesbians get it done. I have nothing
- 30:59Speaker 1: else to say. Make sure you share this podcast with
- 31:03Speaker 1: your family or friends wherever you are. I'll see you
- 31:05Speaker 1: back here tomorrow
