Aired: Jul 21st, 1949. Sergeant Joe Friday and his partner Ben Romero are called back on duty for a nightmare scenario: a man with a homemade bomb is holed up inside Los Angeles City Hall, threatening to level the block unless his jailed brother walks free by 9 a.m. With the clock ticking and the building evacuated, Friday and Romero volunteer to walk into the room and talk him down. Based on an actual LAPD case file, it's Dragnet's terse, documentary-style storytelling at its tensest.
