- 0:00The B -Side and Boxing. B -Side shit. B -Side.
- 0:04B -Side. And the B -Side. You got a B -Side.
- 0:06The B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. The B
- 0:10-Side thing. This is the B -Sides Boxing Podcast.
- 0:20Alright, that's running. Alright. Boxing B -Sides.
- 0:26We are back to talk the fights. Holy shit, boys.
- 0:32Another week. More fights to talk. Josh, Saul,
- 0:36how goes it? Excellent. Fantastic. Oh, you know
- 0:43what's going to be fantastic? Sunday, June 14th.
- 0:47UFC Freedom 250. Can you believe it? Can I say
- 0:52something off the record? Sure. Okay, I genuinely
- 0:57think there's going to be something going on
- 0:59with that, dude. Oh. I think there's going to
- 1:01be a false flag. You think? Yeah. We're already
- 1:04going in the show. I thought it. I wasn't going
- 1:06to say it because this is a professional environment.
- 1:10But... I wanted to take that off the record.
- 1:14Yeah, I'll blur it out somehow. Yeah, we all
- 1:18know why. I don't want to say why, but we all
- 1:19know why. He's going to put AI text over it that
- 1:22says the exact timestamp it'll happen at. Saul's
- 1:26address so we can know, so authorities can contact
- 1:29him. You guys feel the same way, right? I think
- 1:33something is going to happen, yes. Obviously.
- 1:37This has been happening for weeks on the White
- 1:40House lawn. They should slime Colby Covington
- 1:48and no one else. UFC Freedom 250, we have, just
- 1:56to give you the rundown of the card and what
- 1:58I am not an expert. The show is called Ultimate
- 2:03F 'n Casuals. It used to be called Ultimate F
- 2:06'n Casual in the singular. The F 'n Casual was
- 2:10me because I don't know what the fuck I'm talking
- 2:13about. I still don't. So let's see. We got Diego
- 2:18Lopez versus Steve Garcia. At 145 pounds. Bo
- 2:23Nickel vs. Kyle Duckhouse. At 185 pounds. Mauricio
- 2:31Hufi vs. Michael Chandler. At 155 pounds. Josh
- 2:36Hokit vs. Derek Lewis. This one should be fun.
- 2:39At 265 pounds. Shano Malley vs. Ayman Zahabi.
- 2:46At 135. Alex Behera versus Cyril Ghosn at 265.
- 2:53This is for the interim title. And Ilya Tepuria,
- 2:57the 155 -pound champ versus Justin Gaethje, the
- 3:02interim champ. I will say one thing, that Ilya
- 3:09Tepuria, the champ, Justin Gaethje was made interim
- 3:12champ. They're consolidating it within one fight.
- 3:16That's pretty cool. How funny would it be if
- 3:21Sirogan, they have another no contest because
- 3:24of a... Eye poke. Like a eye ga... No, poke.
- 3:29Poke? Double finger gouge. Yeah, like gouging.
- 3:34I was going to say poke. A poke does not leave
- 3:37you with like half blindness like it did to Aspinall.
- 3:42They use a Viltrumite special. Oh my god. Something
- 3:50that I've noticed in my time as I've ramped up
- 3:55to being a bit more of a multi -sport fan, not
- 3:58being as much of a boxing snob as I used to be,
- 4:01that one FC does not have eye poke problems.
- 4:07PFL does not have eye poke problems. It's the
- 4:10gloves. Ryzen does not have eye poke problems.
- 4:16Yeah, Ryzen's like no rules and they still don't
- 4:18have eye poke problems. You could straight up
- 4:21kick a dude's head, like soccer kick a dude's
- 4:24head while he's on the ground and that's acceptable.
- 4:27I'm all for that in MMA. I like the old pride
- 4:31rules because it's like that's the point. That's
- 4:35the point. That being said, no, that was a Brazilian
- 4:40card I remember that got the zero contact low.
- 4:44to be a rule. And it was John Grant Jr. who kept
- 4:49reaching into the other guy's trunks and just,
- 4:51like... Muscle gouging? Yeah, basically. Ugh.
- 4:57I remember watching a documentary on, like, rule
- 5:01changes in MMA, and, like, one of the big ones
- 5:04is, like, when anything goes, like, you could
- 5:06go nut shots until... It was a grapple -heavy
- 5:10fight, and he just literally kept reaching into
- 5:12his opponent's trunks and just, like, squeezing
- 5:16and crushing. Yikes. And I was like, yeah, okay,
- 5:19the rule. Yeah, it checks out that the rule got
- 5:21made. Yeah. I say it all the time, and it's a
- 5:27phrase that I learned in the military. It's like,
- 5:28rules are written in blood. Yeah. So, yeah, you
- 5:33can't reach into some dude's trunks and grab
- 5:36it and twist. why would you do that but yeah
- 5:47freedom 250 we'll be talking about it over on
- 5:51MMA's ultimate effing casuals into some not so
- 6:00fun notes but I feel they're important bxng .co
- 6:05slash survey I want to hear what you think about
- 6:08The titles. How do you rank them in terms of
- 6:12prestige? Which do you perceive to be more corrupt?
- 6:16Etc. And last bit. The Muhammad Ali Boxing Revival
- 6:21Act is... It has left committee in the Senate.
- 6:26However, that does not mean that we still can't
- 6:30do anything about it. If you go to lvxmedia .net
- 6:33slash b -sides. Excuse me. You can... Find the
- 6:38contact information for your senators, and I
- 6:42have a guide on what to say. If you already know,
- 6:46cool. If not, use my blurb. But let your senators
- 6:51know what you think, that this legislation sucks.
- 6:55It creates more problems than it solves. And
- 6:59that's it. LVXmedia .net slash b -sides. All
- 7:05right, into the news. netflix is interested in
- 7:10hosting in a way versus bam i cannot help but
- 7:15be excited uh number one the little guys are
- 7:18getting some recognition here number two boxing
- 7:22is getting some recognition here uh overall this
- 7:26like this is a i try to reserve use of the term
- 7:30for fights that genuinely deserve it i feel this
- 7:36is a case where this is a super fight. I'm way
- 7:41too excited for this. And also the fact that
- 7:44they're talking about it on Netflix, it feels
- 7:46like the negotiation is going pretty well. Netflix
- 7:48is the sign that it will happen and will be a
- 7:51super fight because Netflix only picks up these
- 7:54novelty events. Well, it's a super fight for
- 7:57sure in Japan. Well, if Netflix knows they're
- 8:00going to make a bag, they're going to jump on
- 8:02it. They're going to take it, yeah. Because,
- 8:04like, even, like, Jake Paul Anthony Joshua was
- 8:08such a, like, Netflix sees dollar signs and Jake
- 8:12Paul comeuppance. Like, all of Netflix events
- 8:18are, like, obvious dollar signs that they just
- 8:20nudge over the finish line to get the money.
- 8:25Yeah, here's the platform. You already have the
- 8:29product. Like, we're not interested in meddling
- 8:32with that. No. It would be nice if they were.
- 8:35Netflix is a very convenient platform for boxing.
- 8:42Would be nice if they got more, but we gotta
- 8:44deal with The Zone. What do you mean? We have
- 8:48Paramount Plus, too. Oh, boy. And even worse,
- 8:52streaming service, because there's nothing on
- 8:55it. You can watch all of Taylor Sheridan's work.
- 9:00I'll have you know. Oh, shit. What was it called?
- 9:07Tom... Tom Hardy. Pierce Brosnan. Mobland. Yeah.
- 9:15That was a pretty good show. I have not watched
- 9:19anything else on Paramount+. Besides my... As
- 9:24I call it, my professional interest in MMA. And
- 9:28boxing as well. I watch Zufa. I watch... UFC.
- 9:33Because I have to. Why do I do this to myself?
- 9:41But yeah, we got Netflix interested in hosting
- 9:45Inouye vs. Bam. I would love to see what kind
- 9:49of undercard they cook up for that. Of course,
- 9:54they're going to put other Ohashi guys on it.
- 10:01But... Give me Jin Sasaki on all the undercard
- 10:04fights. Oh, man, if they don't put Jin Sasaki
- 10:07on there, because you want a knockout. It's a
- 10:10guaranteed knockout. Hey, there wasn't a knockout
- 10:13last time, and it was even better. Well, a pleasant
- 10:21disappointment. Oh, yeah. Just run that fight
- 10:24back, actually. I'm not even... Won't say no
- 10:28to that. Maybe I'll be able to watch it this
- 10:30time. Jermall Charlo is going to be returning
- 10:39on the Spence Zoo Undercard. Opponent TBD. Oh,
- 10:51man. Is he fighting a 168 now? I believe so.
- 10:57What's his deal? Okay. It's not going to be anyone
- 11:04good. I guess, bro. That's my reaction to that.
- 11:08I guess, bro. I like Jermel a lot more at this
- 11:12point in time. And even then. It's a low bar.
- 11:18Let's see Charlo versus Charlo. And I think Jermel
- 11:23washes the younger one, too. I think Jermel washes
- 11:26Jermel. But, you know. These guys are the definition
- 11:33of potential, man. They peaked, and then they
- 11:36did nothing. Jermel got paid, and then fucked
- 11:42off. Yeah, but even then, he beat Castaño. He
- 11:46stopped Castaño. Gap. Washed by Canelo. Got paid.
- 11:51Fucked off. Like... You gotta respect it. You
- 11:56got his money. You left. Jermel is... the one
- 11:59I really take issue with because 160 was so empty.
- 12:05I genuinely believe Jamar could have beaten anyone
- 12:09at 160. He could have ran the division for some
- 12:14time. Because he would have gone through Lara
- 12:17and Janabek and Eubank for the three fights.
- 12:21He was a contender there. Adamas. Like... He
- 12:27would have ran through that division, and he'd
- 12:30probably still be the guy right now if he stayed
- 12:35on the horse. He would have moved up to 68 and
- 12:38gotten a payday against Canelo as well. For sure.
- 12:42Or even Crawford. Crawford could have stuck around
- 12:44to make that defense. Yeah. Because, you know,
- 12:50Crawford low -key dipped out because no one wanted
- 12:53to pay him. Yeah, who's going to drop like 50
- 12:59mil. Because he's still not a star. He was never
- 13:03a star. He was great, but he was never a star
- 13:05that could bring the money he always wanted.
- 13:09So, I just, he would have been, there would have
- 13:13been so much more to his career and we would
- 13:15have had such an interesting 160 division. And
- 13:20now it's, well, it's speculation now. Speaking
- 13:28of speculation, Adrian Broner looking at making
- 13:33a comeback and Chris Eubank is the alleged op.
- 13:43This is such a bummy fight, dude. I'm sorry.
- 13:45I can't. That's horrible. No, honestly, I've
- 13:50always liked Broner on paper. Not because he's
- 13:58a good person, but because he's like a roley
- 14:01character. I encourage him staying in boxing
- 14:06instead of killing himself with alcohol. And
- 14:11he's just a character. Like, what other boxer
- 14:14has gotten in trouble with literally everyone?
- 14:18From Al Heyman to the Italian mob to the NBA
- 14:22to the FBI. And now he's on, like, kick streams.
- 14:28Like, he's a character. I do like having him
- 14:32around, and it's not, like, yes, he's washed,
- 14:34but how bad did Eubank look last time out? At
- 14:38the same weight class he's gonna fight Broner
- 14:41at, by the way. Like, I don't mind it. Adrian
- 14:47Broner's back in the rap studio. I'll have you
- 14:50know. You ever actually listen to his music?
- 14:53Yes, I have. It's not very good. He has, like,
- 14:56one okay song, but, like, I was also 15, and
- 15:00it was the only thing listenable, the 15 -year
- 15:02-old me. I liked, of his music, the one that
- 15:08I liked was Jesse Owens. That was it. Run the
- 15:14race, Jesse Owens. Every time I see AB, like,
- 15:19he comes up a lot on my social media feed. Yeah,
- 15:24because he's hanging out with Dean the Great,
- 15:28I think. But he's such a fun character there,
- 15:32too, because he's harmless. He's a character.
- 15:39That's what I mean. When he was in his boxing
- 15:41days and it'd be like, oh, this is a serious
- 15:44problem, like a DUI or whatever, okay. But here
- 15:48it's like he seems very... He's matured to a
- 15:5220 -year -old from a 16 -year -old. You know,
- 15:57like the frontal lobe is there at least a little
- 16:00bit where he won't just go crazy. Hold on a second.
- 16:05I am pretty sure. My favorite clip I've seen
- 16:10right now is the one where he's in the kitchen.
- 16:14Like, he looks like a ball, like a circle with
- 16:16legs. And he teaches Dean the Great how to throw
- 16:21a pole counter. And he's like, no, you're doing
- 16:23it wrong. And then he just, you just, like, we
- 16:26have the eye for it because we've watched boxing
- 16:29or have done boxing. But just the, like, the
- 16:32speed that he does that is like, holy fuck. He's
- 16:35still got it? He's still, no, he doesn't still
- 16:38have it. He's just, it's so ingrained. It's such,
- 16:40it's impressive. But it's also like, damn. No
- 16:45one remembers that this guy was on pound -for
- 16:47-pound lists and that he's a four -division champ.
- 16:51Everybody just remembers the Marcos Maidana fiasco.
- 16:54Yeah, it goes Marcos Maidana and then him getting
- 16:58fucking bullied on, like, Country Box or whatever
- 17:02the fuck it was, Triller or Don King. Don King,
- 17:04it was a Don King show. But, like, you know,
- 17:09he actually didn't look that horrible against
- 17:11Mikey Garcia either. It wasn't a great performance.
- 17:19It wasn't awful. Consider the average Mikey Garcia
- 17:24opponent at this time. Did better than Lippinitz,
- 17:30at least. Oh, for sure. That's what I'm saying.
- 17:36He's almost matured to having a frontal lobe
- 17:41that he's developed. Well, if you believe the
- 17:47conspiracies, you just need a little bit of magic
- 17:50mushrooms, and that'll help you develop it. You
- 17:56know, there are studies that the psilocybin does
- 17:58help with certain aspects of rebuilding bridges
- 18:05in your brain or mental illness and stuff. I've
- 18:07heard the same. It's possible. The studies are
- 18:12real. I believe Oregon... And Washington are
- 18:16piloting psilocybin as like a rehab type of drug.
- 18:23But you have to micro -dose it. Yes, yes. Control
- 18:26dosages. Yeah, like it's not an excuse to just
- 18:30get strung out on magic mushrooms. But if you
- 18:36just want... Oh, Broner. I look at him... Because
- 18:43he's about six weeks younger than I am. So, like,
- 18:48whenever I see him, like, really fucking up,
- 18:51I always think, like, bro, do you need a grown
- 18:56-up? I'll help you out. Like, you don't have
- 18:58to pay for anything for me. No, it's just. You
- 19:02come on the pod, Adrian Broder. Yeah, dude. I
- 19:04would want Broder on the pod. I would love to
- 19:06talk to him. I would love to. I just, he's such.
- 19:11I need to hear more about how he swindled James
- 19:14Harden. With the loaded dice? They were so obvious.
- 19:18Like, have you seen the case file pictures where
- 19:21the dice are so, like, they're so obviously loaded?
- 19:25Like, because they're these, like, translucent
- 19:27red dye, and you can see the, like, weight on
- 19:30the... Through the, like, if you stick it in
- 19:33the lighting, you can see... How the fuck does
- 19:36this happen? The loaded dice game. Like, how
- 19:40the fuck are you, like, an NBA player getting
- 19:42scammed at Adrian Broner dice games? Especially
- 19:46with how crazy his, like, facial hair and build
- 19:49is. Like, if you see, and his outfits are, like,
- 19:51they look greasy as fuck. If you see him walk
- 19:54out to, like, roll dice at fucking craps, do
- 19:58you not just walk out? This guy is bad news.
- 20:05What is he doing? Let's see here. The WBC has
- 20:13elevated Skye Nicholson to full champion, and
- 20:18she'll be facing Mio Yoshida in her next fight.
- 20:25Interesting turn of events. WBC putting their
- 20:30titles onto moneymakers. We talked about that
- 20:37last time with the Benavidez fiasco and Mikaelian.
- 20:43They have to, though. In this case, I agree with
- 20:45that in that case because it's an anti -Zufa
- 20:48measure. I don't even know if Zufa's going to
- 20:52have women. It doesn't look like it at this point.
- 20:56Man, Dana White didn't even want women in the
- 20:58UFC. That stuff was made because Ronda Rousey.
- 21:02Kicking ass. Yeah. Kicking too much ass. I mean,
- 21:06you can see how they're slowly, like, winding
- 21:09down women's divisions in the UFC with how they're
- 21:12not signing as many people on, like, their full
- 21:16contracts. And, like, you can see they're starting
- 21:18to wind it up. It's upsetting, but it is what's
- 21:22happening. What else? Murat Gassia versus Tony
- 21:29Yoka. is in the cards for July 11th. The WBA
- 21:36regular title will be on the line here. Ridiculous.
- 21:43Ridiculous. It's not ridiculous. Murat Gassiev
- 21:46finally got his career together after like eight
- 21:50years. No, I'm just saying, I'm mad that Tony
- 21:53Yoka is really getting a shot like this. It's
- 21:56a nothing belt, man. Yeah, but come on, it's
- 21:59Tony Yoka though. Gassi had won this off of Kubrat
- 22:02Pulev. He didn't even be anywhere near. Daniel
- 22:05Dubois held this belt because he beat Trevor
- 22:09Bryan in a senior rec center that was leaking
- 22:14from the roof in front of like six people. This
- 22:18belt is worth less than dirt. Let's just... This
- 22:22belt was sued back into existence. Yeah, by Emmanuel
- 22:26Char. Oh, my God. Who was he supposed to fight?
- 22:33He was supposed to fight Trevor Bryan. Because
- 22:36there was a guy. There's a fight between, I think.
- 22:40Is it Manuel Char or Mahmood Char? Manuel. It
- 22:47was Mahmood. I think it's Mahmood. No, it's Manuel
- 22:50Char. The Manuel Char and Mahmood Char are the
- 22:52same people. Manuel is his. his European name.
- 22:57So Mahmoud was supposed to fight somebody and
- 23:02if you mention it to Dan Rayfield he will block
- 23:06you on social media. He was supposed to fight
- 23:09Trevor Bryan but Trevor Bryan is such a Don King
- 23:16basic and Bryan's manager did not want Bryan
- 23:20to be cashed out against A no -name German, basically.
- 23:27So that's when it was sued back into existence.
- 23:33Famously, the first fight Char had when it got
- 23:37sued back into existence was a defense against
- 23:40Chris Lovejoy. Wonderful. So that was the culmination
- 23:46of it, because I think he got stripped and it
- 23:50ended up going to Brian, who then lost to Dubois.
- 23:53I remember the Brian Dubois fight. There was
- 23:56a fucking banshee in the Miami high school gym
- 24:01or wherever it is that they were fighting. Oh,
- 24:04that gets better. Guess who Brian won that belt
- 24:08off of? Who's that? Bermane Stiverne. Oh, fuck.
- 24:16It gets worse. So the lineage of this belt and
- 24:20it's been vacant. But Pulev picked it up because
- 24:25someone needs to have it. Of course. And then
- 24:31Gassiev put him out the pasture. So now we're
- 24:35here. Actually, no. Now we're here. Sorry, I
- 24:43just saw. Pulev won a UD over Char. When it opened
- 24:50itself back up. That's how he got it. Char sued
- 24:53to get it back and Pulev took it. Lost it. You
- 24:57know, he sued to get it back. Lost it. Trevor
- 25:01Bryan beats Davern for it. Lost to Dubois. It
- 25:04goes vacant again. Char and Pulev fight for it.
- 25:10Oh, what a beautiful lineage of such a remarkable,
- 25:14important belt for this landscape. Well, now
- 25:19Tony Yoka is in play for a minor title. Tony
- 25:24Yoka is not winning this fight. There's no chance.
- 25:27He shouldn't even be anywhere near the minors.
- 25:29That came out wrong. I'm sorry. Gassiev came
- 25:33off of a loss to Otto Wallin for his shot at
- 25:38Pulev. Gassiev, as the adage goes, power is the
- 25:45last thing to go. So, maybe. Gassiev can still
- 25:50land a ICBM on the Frenchman. Gassiev is 32,
- 25:57by the way. He was like 25 when he fought Usyk.
- 26:01He just looks... He's just aged very badly. I
- 26:08remember when he actually made his move up, I
- 26:13was talking to people, they're like, he's been
- 26:14around forever, and I'm like, no, he like...
- 26:17He accelerated very quickly. He's easier than
- 26:20me. Fuck. It's like Lubin. He's just been around
- 26:25for a long time. Yeah, he's just been around
- 26:27for a long time. By the way, Cody Yoka is two
- 26:30years older than Gassio. Damn. Yoka's 34. It's
- 26:40okay, Leo. Okay. I am having an existential crisis
- 26:46at the moment. Well, what are you going to do?
- 26:54Time stops for no man. So that's what I mean
- 26:58by, like, both of these idiots have been around
- 27:00forever. Like, Dave Allen has had, like, six
- 27:03career revivals and downfalls in the time that
- 27:06it's taken Yoka to get here since Yoka fought
- 27:08him. Yoka fought him eight years ago. That's
- 27:16what I mean by this is really a fight. It feels
- 27:22like a fight of geriatrics, and they're like,
- 27:24no, they should be in their prime still. They
- 27:26should be, especially at heavyweight. This is
- 27:29maybe the tail end of your prime, but nonetheless.
- 27:34Oh, it's so funny. I love it. For the WBA regular,
- 27:38by the way. So there's a non -zero chance Usyk
- 27:42-Gasiev 2 is in play for next year. The long
- 27:47-awaited rematch of a 12 -round shutout that
- 27:50happened in 2017. Can't wait to watch that one.
- 27:55We will all be seated. Yeah, no, sorry. 2018
- 27:58shutout in Moscow. You know how hard it is to
- 28:04shut a Russian fighter out in Moscow? Especially
- 28:12for a Ukrainian. Ukrainian shutting out a Russian
- 28:17fighter in Moscow was crazy. That is wild. That
- 28:21is crazy work. You know what though? That's probably
- 28:24why they invaded. They could have handled that
- 28:31loss. I go back and watch Gassiev -Dartikos because
- 28:34it's such a nice little cruiserweight fight.
- 28:37And honestly, I really hope it goes like this.
- 28:41It goes like that with Gassiev. Usyk beating
- 28:47Gassiev. And then, like Saul said, that being
- 28:52the catalyst for the invasion. Usyk is from Crimea.
- 28:56And that was the land that they immediately took.
- 29:00Oh, my God. And the invasion was Crimea. Brutal.
- 29:05They had no other choice, honestly. We have to
- 29:08make Usyk Russian. If Isaac were in power, he
- 29:14would have done the same shit when Canelo lost
- 29:16to Bud. Annex Omaha. Troops on the border trying
- 29:24to get to Omaha. The hate's understandable. Let's
- 29:32roll on. Diego Pacheco is returning on July 18th.
- 29:39Opponent TBD. It's going to be a no name. Apparently
- 29:48Matchroom is going to be the promoter for this.
- 29:51I just remember Diego Pacheco signing with that
- 29:55new management firm and then he let his contract
- 30:00with matchroom expire he disappeared like he
- 30:06goes off the radar and now here he is back with
- 30:09matchroom you know i don't care i just want him
- 30:13to fight osleys and like i'm not good get wrecked
- 30:16i i just want osleys to fight some like fight
- 30:19lester fight osleys just get a move on harlem
- 30:26eubank versus david papo In London on July 18th.
- 30:34So that's nice. David Papo has a chance. That's
- 30:38what we were saying when this fight got announced.
- 30:40Like, Vom, of course, was like, yeah, you know,
- 30:43David Papo could really pull this off. As you
- 30:46would expect, supporting his countrymen. But
- 30:49seriously, David Papo could fucking pull this
- 30:52off. Oh, he's got a chance. He's not that bad
- 30:56of a French guy. He just... He has five knockouts
- 31:00in 31 fights. That's the only... He gave Liam
- 31:04Parra good work. Yeah, he gave him a better fight.
- 31:07Hey, you know who else has a low knockout ratio?
- 31:10Brunello. Okay, fucker. No, but the Harlem U
- 31:17-Bank can't crack an egg either, so... Papo could
- 31:21really... If Papo gets in control early... Unless
- 31:27he gets the note, the old Chalino. Chalino Sanchez
- 31:32note? Yeah. No, he's a French fighter, though,
- 31:35so who cares? They will. Often it is their capacity
- 31:40to win fights rather than any corruption. Where's
- 31:45Papo from? France. Oh, yeah, France, but where
- 31:49in France? Saint -Nazaire. Never heard of it.
- 31:55Just, I was thinking, because Saras is from Marseille,
- 32:01which is, like, historically, it's a seafaring,
- 32:07like, a port city. So, like, pirates used to
- 32:10frequent through there. So, I was like, Saras
- 32:12is a fucking pirate. He's a pirate man. So, trying
- 32:16to give Pat Poe the same benefit, but apparently
- 32:19not. Michael Soro is the example I'll use with,
- 32:23like, refused to go away. Like, Madribov still
- 32:29does not have a convincing win over that guy.
- 32:32And it took two tries. Because there was the
- 32:36fake knockout that the commission immediately
- 32:38put bell to ass on the referee for. And then
- 32:42there was a technical draw. And he wasn't in
- 32:46his prime yet, though. No, what I'm saying was
- 32:48Michael Sorrell. Like, there's these guys, these
- 32:51French guys. sometimes they just don't want to
- 32:56go away and they will cause a lot of problems
- 32:58and honestly Harlem Eubank is not enough of a
- 33:03prospect for like it to be like your status can
- 33:09carry your status or your like being a step above
- 33:12can carry you he's just not that I feel like
- 33:15his name though does give him the ability to
- 33:21carry a decision that he doesn't really deserve.
- 33:25Perhaps. Like they're bringing in a somewhat
- 33:30recognizable Frenchman for the sake of being
- 33:34beaten by a Brit. I really think this is like
- 33:39a little bit higher of a level of Munguia picking
- 33:45Saras thinking it's like an easy scalp. But this
- 33:50is like Harlem Eubank picking David Papo is...
- 33:53The gap is smaller between the two of them. But,
- 34:01rolling on. Richardson Hitchens, likely opponent
- 34:06Ricardo Salas on Hitchens' Zufa debut on July
- 34:1226th. What weight was this going to be at? 147.
- 34:17147. 37? Yeah. He moved up? Why? He had to. He
- 34:25wasn't even good at 140. What the fuck? I can't
- 34:30wait to fall asleep to that fight. Man, what
- 34:34the hell? All this to avoid Oscar Duarte, by
- 34:37the way. Who was it? By no means an unbeatable
- 34:42demon. No, Fierro. I mean, he almost lost to
- 34:47Lemos. Made it pretty clear. Fierro had, like,
- 34:51blood gushing out of his ears and, like, had
- 34:54him up, like, he had no idea where he was. He
- 34:58would have easily been Duarte, but, you know,
- 35:00Duarte also could have given him problems, too.
- 35:02This is a guy who almost lost Lemos. Talk about.
- 35:06I mean, this is the mighty George Cambosos vanquisher,
- 35:09Richardson Hitchens. Yeah, okay, okay, yeah.
- 35:12Whatever. We love that. We love that here. I'm
- 35:15over it. I'm over it. I hate Sufa. Devin did
- 35:18it twice. Devin did it twice. Lomachenko did
- 35:23it better. Lomachenko did do it better. That's
- 35:25the one I'll say. Tyson Fury returning on August
- 35:311st in Dublin. Opponent to be determined. It's
- 35:37got to be some mid -tier contender, I will say.
- 35:41It's going to be Hergovich. I gotta say, I was
- 35:46thinking Hergovich, too. Dave Allen is the Tyson
- 35:50Fury gatekeeper, it seems. They're not gonna
- 35:52put... Moses Atalma returning August 8th. Hergovich
- 35:59being the likely opponent. I only doubt it'll
- 36:03be Hergovich, because if Usyk drops that IBF
- 36:06belt, because they don't have Usyk has to make
- 36:10a fight with Sanchez now that that mandatory's
- 36:13been called. Or he's got to drop the belt. WBC
- 36:15is also ordering their mandatory be filled with
- 36:18Caballel. And they have time limits, and the
- 36:21time limit is end of June for both, which gives
- 36:24July, late August. If they just bump the card
- 36:28back three weeks, Itama can fight for a belt
- 36:31instead of Herkovich. So we'll know in, like,
- 36:35two weeks whether it's going to be Herkovich
- 36:38or Sanchez for Itama. Because... As much as Hergovich
- 36:44will give a family -sized bag of chips instead
- 36:49of jack shit, Sanchez will give Itama the belt
- 36:53means a lot more than fighting Hergovich. A full
- 36:57belt versus a mandatory position. Yeah, so you're
- 37:00just gonna... We're gonna have to see, but it
- 37:04is... It's not unlikely that Usyk just drops
- 37:08the IBF, fights Caballel, and then Itama... being
- 37:12the second number two contender now. Honestly,
- 37:17I feel like Queensborough would want to spread
- 37:19their cards out, you know? Have each guy on one
- 37:24of the belts. You know, they got Dubois, WBO.
- 37:29They got Itauma and IBF. Potentially Caballel
- 37:34on the WBC. Just, you know, have a champion.
- 37:41Three champions, I think. And then WBA being,
- 37:45what, Murat Gassiev, Tony Yoko winner? Yeah.
- 37:48Come on, man. Obvious, like, weakest champion
- 37:53of the crop. But, yeah, dude, like, heavyweight,
- 38:05it might not be heating up as far as American
- 38:09heavyweights. Or Canadian heavyweights. But it's
- 38:14fucking hot right now. Let's see. What is also
- 38:21hot? Sharnika Johnson facing Dina Torslund on
- 38:26August 5th. Different kind of hot, but what are
- 38:30you going to do? WBO and IBF will be hosting
- 38:35a joint convention in December. They're doing
- 38:40this a joint thing because they are both under
- 38:45the U .S. jurisdiction. WBO being based in Puerto
- 38:49Rico. So, yeah. We talked about last time the
- 38:56IBF rulings. I expect by the time this convention
- 39:02rolls around in December, all of those mandatory
- 39:06calls that they made. will have been fulfilled
- 39:09and they'll be they'll be making their next round
- 39:12of calls um wbo with their new their new chief
- 39:17it sounds like they mean business the same way
- 39:21the ibf does i believe they told the wbf chief
- 39:30is a lawyer um i don't remember his name but
- 39:35somebody made a like somebody On Twitter, they
- 39:40said something about corruption in the WBO. It's
- 39:43like, oh, well, if you have proof, here's the
- 39:45phone number to the FBI. Like, prove it, bitch.
- 39:51Yeah. I don't know. I think this new WBO chief
- 39:56means business. I like it. Well, he has to with
- 40:00Zufa around. Like, when you're the least legitimate
- 40:03belt. Right. And Zufa is whole big on the no
- 40:10belts thing. Got to defend whatever little territory
- 40:15you have. You got to defend that. You got to
- 40:17nut up. You got to nut up. I mean, there's room
- 40:20to get some notoriety here with all the recent
- 40:23WBA and WBC BS going on. There's a way to legitimize.
- 40:28It is. That's how the IBF. This conversation
- 40:32has been had with the WBO since 2008 when they
- 40:36gained legitimacy. And they always seem to do
- 40:42their own brand of shenanigans. So I will wait
- 40:47and see to see if they actually mean business
- 40:52or if they just kind of go with everyone else.
- 40:56The IBF is the only one that's ever really stood
- 40:58on business, being honest. When they got raided
- 41:02in the 90s, early 90s. Yeah. I think if the WBO
- 41:08kind of takes a little brother role to the IBF
- 41:13here, it's a really big step in the right direction.
- 41:20With what WBA continues to do, with what WBC
- 41:25has been doing lately, If they lose the branding,
- 41:33whatever Bob orders, then that's a step in the
- 41:37right direction. The biggest thing, I think,
- 41:42for the WBO to gain legitimacy is that they need
- 41:45to step away from the clear public perception
- 41:50of favoritism to top rank and Queensberry. The
- 41:58Queensbury one has always been so baffling to
- 42:01me because I get that they're like, they were
- 42:03made because, you know, the WBC and the OPBF
- 42:08as a result formed to represent like different
- 42:10areas of the world that traditionally it's very
- 42:12America centric. But why would a Europe focused
- 42:16one exclusively favor a UK, a smaller UK promotion?
- 42:23It's very weird. I understand Top Rank because
- 42:25they pull guys from Europe. They have good talent
- 42:28scouting stemming from when they'd have to find
- 42:30opponents for Ali. Get guys to compete for WBO
- 42:35instead of EBU on their client. I get Top Rank's
- 42:40affiliation because their talent scouting is
- 42:43very similar. But, like, the Queensbury one's
- 42:46always been baffling to me. Because the UK has
- 42:50always kind of rejected the WBO, too. Like, they're
- 42:56big, like, Bruno and Lewis and, like, Nigel Benn
- 43:00and everything. They're always more friendly
- 43:02with the WBC. Well, it was back in the day. I
- 43:07mean, you have a couple more Brit fighters. But
- 43:10it's not a new thing, is the thing. Like, when
- 43:13Tommy Morrison lost, like, Michael Bent was a
- 43:16British guy. who got or out of nowhere got the
- 43:20WBO shot against Morrison so like it's always
- 43:26been a thing that the WBO always favors Queensbury
- 43:29guys but like the UK at large doesn't reciprocate
- 43:33this so I'm just curious to know why where this
- 43:37historical relation got created if that makes
- 43:40sense Last bit, Lomachenko is looking to fight
- 43:51Charlie Suarez on his return. On Zufa, I'm guessing.
- 43:56I hope not. If Charlie Suarez is the opponent
- 44:00we're picking. Suarez is a top -ranked guy. I
- 44:05don't think it's going to be a top -ranked fight,
- 44:06though, because, I mean, unless he resigns, because
- 44:10his deal with top -ranked ended, and he immediately
- 44:13came out of retirement afterwards. You guys know
- 44:16that? He did wait out his deal. He did wait out
- 44:18his deal. He tricked everybody. I'm thinking
- 44:27that he wants to take away Suarez's mandatory
- 44:31position to Nav. Yeah. Just my thinking. But
- 44:45that's all we got for the news. Unless there's
- 44:48something I missed. No. Alright. We got stuff.

- 48:16things first. Raised promotions in Tashkent,
- 48:21Uzbekistan. Murojan Akhmadaliev, also known as
- 48:26MJ, gets a stoppage in four over Hegley Mosqueda.
- 48:30Just wanted to point that one out. He moved up
- 48:33the featherweight for some reason. It's that
- 48:37Nick Wall super fight. Oh, boy. It's going to
- 48:41sell 10 pay -per -views. Just wait. MF Pro on
- 48:47DAZN. Seiko Nkotole got the UD over Charlie Edwards
- 48:53in the main event. We talked about Nkotole last
- 48:58time when we were talking about the IBF mandatories.
- 49:02So he is in line. for that. Saturday, May 30th,
- 49:10the main event of RCC promotions on DAZN, Dimitri
- 49:15Bivol gets the UD over Michael Eifert. Bivol
- 49:19limits Eifert to 12 total punches landed over
- 49:25the course of 12 rounds. I didn't know that statistic.
- 49:35when I had formed the thought that I feel like
- 49:40Beevil could have done more. This is a fight
- 49:44that Beevil could have, should have stopped.
- 49:48As always. He had them all be in round one. He
- 49:52had them fucking figured out from the first round,
- 49:54like you said. I don't understand why you're...
- 49:57I don't... I don't get it. Maybe I should have
- 50:03watched the post -fight. conference and gotten
- 50:07a little bit more insight, but I can't imagine
- 50:11the Russian reporters were asking them the hard
- 50:15questions. Still, we talked about last time,
- 50:24Bevo, the Russian oligarchs are wanting to put
- 50:28together the Better Be Of trilogy in Russia.
- 50:35Not the fight I'm very interested in seeing.
- 50:37As far as I'm concerned, Bivol is 2 -0. I don't
- 50:43see what further questions a trilogy really answers.
- 50:48Yeah, come on. Give us Benavidez. That fight
- 50:50would count as a Smith fight. We want Benavidez,
- 50:52baby. We want Benavidez. Yeah. The three options
- 50:57for Bivol are Benavidez, Calum Smith, and Better
- 51:00Beef. Two of those options are way easier. Zach?
- 51:04Zach Shelley. The teacher. Working class warrior
- 51:10Zach Shelley. It would be worth if Beevil, Better
- 51:19Beev, it's one of those making an offer you can't
- 51:23refuse kind of things. Like the money is so good
- 51:25you can't turn it down. Which that's what it
- 51:28sounds like it's going to be. For For Benavidez,
- 51:34I think a good use of his time would be to beat
- 51:40Callum Smith, take that WBO mandatory position.
- 51:46Or what organization was the Morel Celli? Was
- 51:55that for a ranking? Might have been IBF. Okay.
- 51:58Might have just been for fun. Because Zach Shelley
- 52:02was very unheralded. I'll have you know he was
- 52:07the English champion. Yeah, I already said unheralded.
- 52:16But yeah, if Benavides isn't going to get the
- 52:20fight right away, which it doesn't look like
- 52:22he is, it would be ideal for him to position
- 52:28himself to make... In such a way to make himself
- 52:31undeniable. Boxer. At the Wembley Arena. What
- 52:44do I got here? Fucking Francesca Hennessy gets
- 52:47a stoppage in six. Congrats to her. Adam Azeem
- 52:52stops Steve Claggett in three. I expected...
- 52:57That was actually kind of crazy. Am I dumb? I
- 53:02expected better out of Steve Claggett. Am I dumb?
- 53:05A little bit. Adam Azeem is really good against
- 53:08these bums. He's really good against bums. He
- 53:12did what you couldn't. I will say, Azeem looks
- 53:16exceptional against bums. If you are old, or
- 53:22if you suck, you will... he will look like the
- 53:25best fighter who ever lived. You will get Azim'd.
- 53:29Yeah, like, Adam Azim looks really, really good
- 53:32against a very specific kind of, like, C -tier,
- 53:37like, guy. Kurt Scooby's not C -tier. Yeah. Or
- 53:45Kurt Scooby. Like, you know what I mean? Kurt
- 53:50Scooby, he looks really good. I'm not sure if
- 53:53he'll carry that if he moves up in class anytime
- 53:56soon. But, oh, he looks really good. Can crushing.
- 54:02He's doing the best with what Boxer can provide
- 54:07him. Yeah. Like, it's very, like, you should
- 54:10probably be excited about this guy just because,
- 54:13holy hell, he looks phenomenal against these
- 54:16guys. 140 Dark Horse. We are not about to call
- 54:23him the Boogeyman. No, hell no. I know there's
- 54:25already people trying to start it. I saw some
- 54:31discourse online talking about how Adam Nazeem
- 54:33is the Boogeyman, how people are avoiding him
- 54:34now. Hell no. Richardson Hitchens might be avoiding
- 54:37him, but overall, no. I would just call him...
- 54:42Hitchens is a bitch. Lo... Low reward, medium
- 54:51high risk type of guy. But Boogeyman? Well, I
- 54:58don't fucking think so. G .A .R. Wrecks us, dude.
- 55:07Who else is at 140 right now? Heroica. Donald
- 55:11Smith, fellow countryman. If Dalton Smith knocks
- 55:17him out, it better be in a PowerPoint. I don't
- 55:20want to see anything above 10 frames. I think
- 55:26Dalton Smith is actually a good fight for them.
- 55:30For Smith and Nazeem. That's a good fight. Yeah.
- 55:38Like setting themselves up to be food for the
- 55:41other like actual. The real contenders. Yeah.
- 55:47Hirooka probably fucks up Adam Asim. I think
- 55:50Josh, you pointed him out. Yeah. Hirooka is shockingly
- 55:56good. I can't lie. He did surprise me with the
- 56:00GR. My prediction is coming true. I didn't say
- 56:10that Hirooka was going to win. But I felt that
- 56:13he was going to demonstrate himself to people
- 56:17in a way that made them believers. It was a high
- 56:26-tier, gave -it -a -go situation. But enough
- 56:34of Boxer. I'm going to skip ahead to MVP, W...
- 56:41at the County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas. What
- 56:48do we got here? Jessica Plata, UD over Brooke
- 56:53Cibrian. Lourdes Juarez beats Yocasta Valle by
- 56:59split decision to retain the WBC Light Flyweight
- 57:03title. Desley Robinson. retains the IBF -WBO
- 57:10middleweight titles over Mary Spencer. Amanda
- 57:14Serrano stops Cheyenne Hansen in two. And ties
- 57:20Christy Martin's stoppage record in title fights.
- 57:24That's right. I was literally about to say. Important
- 57:26tidbit, even if it really wasn't that impressive,
- 57:31honestly. Well, it's still something. The historical
- 57:35implication is good. The opponent was not. We're
- 57:41doing the best we can with what we have on the
- 57:44women's side of the boxing house. Yeah, so Serrano
- 57:50retains WBA, WBO featherweight titles. And in
- 57:54the main event, Stephanie Hahn, the WBA lightweight
- 57:57champion. retains her title by majority decision
- 58:01over Holly Holm. I don't know if I agree with
- 58:05this one. Yeah, I don't know. Another draw, please.
- 58:13Overall, it was a good night of fights, especially
- 58:18on the lady side of things. Typically, they're
- 58:21not this entertaining. Did we go over the Ray
- 58:25Ford -Foster fight? Not yet. I skipped. Not yet.
- 58:28Just to give that one the last bit of time. Okay,
- 58:32fair enough. But yeah, let's get to it. Matchroom
- 58:40on the zone at the Fertitta Center in Houston,
- 58:42Texas. Starting off at the bottom, we've got
- 58:46Javon Woodard stopping Miguel Flores in eight.
- 58:50Jaden Britton stops Najee West in four. Frank
- 58:56Espinoza retires Bryce Blackwell. Julian Montalvo
- 59:00stops Maximus Moya in four. Zaquin Moses. Man,
- 59:07when you're a blue -chip prospect, it feels like
- 59:10you should be getting stoppages, but he gets
- 59:13a UD over Travis Crawford, who's a battle -tested
- 59:19veteran, shall we say. You'd think that, like,
- 59:24you get the stoppage here, but what are you going
- 59:26to do? You know who should have gotten the stoppage,
- 59:29though? Omari Jones, UD over Diego Osuna. I was
- 59:37joking, like, kind of jokingly saying, like,
- 59:40is Omari Jones a bum? Are we overestimating what's,
- 59:47like, what are we? Am I investing too much of
- 59:51myself into him, and I'm being let down by my
- 59:55own expectations? We're going to get to the main,
- 59:58but I will say we did see the ghost of Amari
- 1:00:02Jones' future, Fido Shacky Foster. The ghost
- 1:00:08of Amari Jones' past, I mean. I got to tell you,
- 1:00:13I don't think it was that bad of a performance.
- 1:00:16I thought it was pretty standard. Pretty lopsided,
- 1:00:19yes. Obviously, you should be knocking guys like
- 1:00:20these out, but... Yeah, but you don't want standard.
- 1:00:23Yeah, 100%. You don't want standard, but... We
- 1:00:25watched Adam Azim explode, like, blow up a guy
- 1:00:29who was about to blow up guys who were the same
- 1:00:32caliber. Like, you want that. Well, at the same
- 1:00:35time, I mean, honestly, this is what I noticed.
- 1:00:38It looked like Omari just wasn't in it that night.
- 1:00:43He seemed disinterested. His team looked pretty
- 1:00:46disinterested. I don't know. Maybe. I feel like
- 1:00:52they're maybe taking the shit too lightly because
- 1:00:55Diego was clearly a class below. There was no
- 1:01:02reason that Omari should be going the distance
- 1:01:04with this kind of guy. No. It was a dominant
- 1:01:10performance. I think it's Worth pointing that
- 1:01:14out. It was a dominant performance. It's just
- 1:01:16like, fuck, dude. You're clearly better. So,
- 1:01:20what's the deal? I think pointing out Adam Azeem
- 1:01:28sparking out Steve Claggett, it's not a bad comparison.
- 1:01:34That's what you're supposed to be doing at this
- 1:01:37level. Not at all. Still, Omari Jones, I'm going
- 1:01:43to hold out hope. Gotta believe in my American
- 1:01:48prospects. Charlie Sheehy, the recent acquisition
- 1:01:55from Top Rank, stops Jarrett Gonzalez in nine.
- 1:02:01I'm surprised it took you nine, my man. Yep.
- 1:02:10Nine is nine. And in the main event, Oshaki Foster
- 1:02:15throws Ray Ford out of the ring on his way to
- 1:02:21a majority decision. It was a mistaken loss.
- 1:02:26The way Ray Ford just kind of went limp and like
- 1:02:30flew out like Superman. Yeah, he's Superman this
- 1:02:35way out. Out of the ring. Hilarious. That could
- 1:02:40have gone so wrong, dude. It could have. It could
- 1:02:43have hit his head or something. When Montana
- 1:02:47Love decided to be the wrestler and throw the
- 1:02:51guy over the ropes a couple years ago, but you
- 1:02:55know what? I don't mind. This fight was not that
- 1:02:59close, honestly. Ray Ford would land some attention
- 1:03:02-grabbing shots, but Foster does what he does
- 1:03:05best and neutralizes his opponent. I got to give
- 1:03:09my apologies to Oshaki Foster. Ever since his
- 1:03:13top -ranked days, I've severely underrated him
- 1:03:18as a fighter. He's an overachiever, to be fair.
- 1:03:21He is an overachiever, but honestly, this performance
- 1:03:24was damn good. Really damn good. It depends on
- 1:03:29how much weight. It depends on how much stock
- 1:03:31you put into Ray Ford, in full honesty. I would
- 1:03:34say Ray Ford is... Well, I would say he's one
- 1:03:38of the top contenders at 130. One of the better
- 1:03:41contenders. I don't know about top. Who else
- 1:03:44is there? I'm thinking more weak weight class.
- 1:03:51Like, this is a weight class that Anthony Kikachi
- 1:03:54holds a belt in. Yeah. And... Like, Oscar Valdez
- 1:04:02is still kicking at this weight class. I mean,
- 1:04:07it was fun seeing she could get pissed off at
- 1:04:08the end, dude. That was funny. Nav is the top
- 1:04:12dog. Foster's number two. Kakachi's three. Moussa
- 1:04:17Gholam is four. Five is Mauricio Lara. Six is
- 1:04:23Oscar Valdez. Seven is Sugar Nunez. Eight is
- 1:04:27Masanori Rikishi. Number nine is Elnor Samadov.
- 1:04:32And number ten is Sembatar Erdenbat. I can't
- 1:04:36respect that ranking, dude. You're putting Nunes
- 1:04:38at 27? But I'm saying, like, Lee Wood and Venado
- 1:04:43Lopez are still at this weight class, too, on
- 1:04:46around the Ray Ford. And I'm like, I just, it's
- 1:04:51tough because it depends on how much weight you
- 1:04:53put in the Ray Ford when it was, like, it was
- 1:04:55so obvious pretty much from, like, the early
- 1:04:58Matchroom USA days, which he was a product of
- 1:05:02that he was probably going to flame out. at the
- 1:05:05top of whatever division he ended up at. Well,
- 1:05:08you know what? I get it what you're saying, but
- 1:05:11at the same time, some of the stuff that Foster
- 1:05:15was doing in the ring, too, was... I gotta say,
- 1:05:18it was pretty damn sweet. Using angles? Foster,
- 1:05:24absolute overachiever. Definite top -of -the
- 1:05:27-weight class. Ford is... Like, this is the most
- 1:05:33he was ever going to accomplish, though. I'm
- 1:05:35not... Foster did what he was supposed to against
- 1:05:38an opponent that had some wrinkles, but honestly
- 1:05:40could not, will not reach that ceiling. I gotta
- 1:05:44say, I think Foster beats Navarrete. I gotta
- 1:05:47say, I think he 12 -0s him. Well, Nav, the thing
- 1:05:51I hate, I hate that I have to, like, think about
- 1:05:54Nav in, like, a positive light now. Nutritionist
- 1:05:56Navism. The nutrition, because it's just the
- 1:05:59fact that, like, Wow, he hasn't had that explosiveness
- 1:06:04ever. And now he does, and it's scary because
- 1:06:07he already had a physical advantage that he abused
- 1:06:12the hell out of. Gorilla arms and a gas tank.
- 1:06:15But now he has explosiveness, and that's... I'm
- 1:06:21not saying he's a better boxer than Foster, but
- 1:06:23it's scary that there's now some more mustard
- 1:06:26behind what was a volume guy. Before. Foster
- 1:06:32is a beautiful operator. Like, by no... No, Foster...
- 1:06:38Foster's... Foster should outbox him. I'm just
- 1:06:43like, Nav is dangerous. And you can't count him
- 1:06:46out because that explosiveness with his gas tank
- 1:06:49is a threat. Like, I don't like Nav. I think
- 1:07:00he totally lost against Liam Wilson. Like, both
- 1:07:04in being robbed at the stoppage, but also the
- 1:07:06scales. But... Listen, man. Liam Wilson showing
- 1:07:13up weighing six pounds under the limit is like,
- 1:07:16what are we doing? Could you not be more obvious?
- 1:07:20Yeah. And this was a COVID weigh -in, so it happened
- 1:07:23behind closed doors. Like... I would like to
- 1:07:28see Foster against Kakachi as a unification and
- 1:07:33to finally rid us of Kakachi's company. And then
- 1:07:38we can do like an undisputed situation with Nav.
- 1:07:41Nav sorts out his situation with Suarez because
- 1:07:47he owes Suarez the rematch. He owes Suarez the
- 1:07:50rematch. So I want to see. Yeah. I was going
- 1:07:52to say like we can put an end to that era of
- 1:07:54weird British European. uh title uh swapping
- 1:08:00so everyone gets a belt everyone gets to hold
- 1:08:05the belt type thing before kakachi just takes
- 1:08:08it back but we put an end i agree with leo's
- 1:08:11uh plan here who is this mosa golam Yeah, I haven't
- 1:08:24seen, I only found out about him today. Let's
- 1:08:27see. He has a loss to Elnur Samidov. Yeah, he's
- 1:08:36a gold shotter. Fights out of Spain, fought in
- 1:08:40Russia where he lost by a close decision. So
- 1:08:44you would, I would think you lose a close decision
- 1:08:47to a Russian in Russia, you probably won. Yeah.
- 1:08:54He's fought in Abu Dhabi, in Cuba, Argentina.
- 1:09:01Who is this mysterious man? We'll see him eventually.
- 1:09:08We will. Absolutely. Clearly, if he's in the
- 1:09:13top five of BoxRec, he's climbed the fucking
- 1:09:15ranks. We're going to see him eventually. Oh,
- 1:09:27shit. We've only gone through the recaps and
- 1:09:30we still got the whole fucking preview section
- 1:09:33to go. These previews are pretty thin, though.
- 1:09:37There's one. I don't know much about them. All

- 1:12:30hardest workers on the planet, honeybees. But
- 1:12:33right now, bees are facing unprecedented challenges
- 1:12:35from habitat loss and climate change, and they
- 1:12:37need our help to keep working. That's why we

- 1:13:56Thursday, June 11th. We have an Eye of the Tiger
- 1:14:01card. I don't recognize anybody, but the main
- 1:14:06event, Wilkins, Matthew. versus Esquiva Falcao.
- 1:14:11I'm sorry, I'm squinting. I'm actually looking
- 1:14:13at this. Yeah, no, I recognize Shevo, but that's
- 1:14:17because he was... I'm surprised they kept him
- 1:14:19on these cards after he lost, but... Oh, Leila
- 1:14:24Boudouin. Oh, yeah, Leila Boudouin. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:29She's fighting for the interim WBA super featherweight
- 1:14:33title versus Paulina. Angel. Angel. Let's roll
- 1:14:41on Saturday, June 13th. MF Pro Manchester Arena
- 1:14:49in England. There's only one fight that I just
- 1:14:55really struggle to care about. That's Tommy Fury
- 1:14:59vs. Eddie Hall. Fight of the year. What do you
- 1:15:03mean? Yeah, I'm beside myself with... You know
- 1:15:09what I really want this to go? I want this to
- 1:15:11go in a specific direction that is another meme
- 1:15:14fight from a Jake Paul opponent. Do you remember
- 1:15:16when Haseen Rotman Jr. fought Greg Hardy? No.
- 1:15:22So the size difference... Rotman was like...
- 1:15:26It was a Misfits fight. It was a professional
- 1:15:30fight on a Misfits card. And Rotman... got dropped
- 1:15:36and beaten by UD by Greg Hardy just because of
- 1:15:39size. Because he really did not belong in heavyweights.
- 1:15:43And Greg Hardy is this former NFL washout who
- 1:15:48fights MMA. He's a horrible, horrible person.
- 1:15:52Greg Hardy was on a recent UFC card. Yeah, he
- 1:15:55just got flattened on the recent UFC card. It
- 1:15:59was ugly. I really want this Tommy Fury fight
- 1:16:04to go in the same direction where it's like you
- 1:16:07just kind of get clubbed in the head by a big
- 1:16:09dude and we never have to hear from you again.
- 1:16:11A guy who's like 100 pounds bigger than you.
- 1:16:14Yeah, you just get clubbed in the head by him
- 1:16:17because it doesn't matter how nice your jab looks.
- 1:16:19It's a guy 100 pounds bigger than you. Huge guy.
- 1:16:23You're a light heavyweight fighting a guy who
- 1:16:25weighs 300 pounds. You get clubbed in the head
- 1:16:27and go down and that's it. We don't see you again.
- 1:16:31He's swinging an arm that can move hundreds of
- 1:16:36pounds. It's like a really big fucking arm. And
- 1:16:42I don't put weight into the bodybuilders, boxers
- 1:16:45thing, but Tommy Fury is also not a serious boxer
- 1:16:48in the slightest. But he knows a lot more than
- 1:16:53freaking Eddie Hall. Yeah, so did Rotman over
- 1:16:56Greg Hardy, the football player. Yeah. so that
- 1:17:01but it's just and again that's why pound for
- 1:17:04pound exists sometimes the size differential
- 1:17:06is so grotesque that it's like tommy fury is
- 1:17:11in essence uh fat 175 flat he's a fat light heavyweight
- 1:17:16in essence and eddie hall is a super super heavyweight
- 1:17:23so i'm just saying i've seen this one on misfits
- 1:17:26already Well, all you've done is make me care
- 1:17:35even less about this. Exactly. That was the goal.
- 1:17:37You do not have to care. I have a very minimal
- 1:17:43professional interest in that. Just to see. I
- 1:17:48just need to know the outcome. I don't really
- 1:17:49give a fuck how it goes down. MVPW4 at the Caribe
- 1:17:56Royale in Orlando, Florida. I'm just going to
- 1:18:00cherry pick. uh jasmine artiga versus natalie
- 1:18:05delgado the artiga is the wba super flyweight
- 1:18:10champ tiara brown the wbc featherweight champ
- 1:18:16versus hannah rapp ibf wba wbo light flyweight
- 1:18:23champ evelyn bermudez versus estefani alegria
- 1:18:29And O'Shea Jones versus Elia Carranza. Jones
- 1:18:35is the IBF super welterweight champ. So, MVP
- 1:18:41continued to put on title fights. Nothing but.
- 1:18:46I would like for the winner of Bermudez and Alegria
- 1:18:54to unify with... What's her fucking putz? Juarez.
- 1:19:08Like, you got all the talent. Let's quit fucking
- 1:19:14around here. I think as Canelo said one time,
- 1:19:19hay que dejar de las mamadas. Oh, shit. Last
- 1:19:25one for June 13th. Matchroom. on DAZN at the
- 1:19:32Desert Diamond Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. I will
- 1:19:36indeed be there. Go on, my son. The king returns.
- 1:19:42Go on, my son. I think that's what I'm going
- 1:19:45to say as Bam walks out. The king returns. You're
- 1:19:48that much of a fan of Ronnie Alvarez, so. Oh,
- 1:19:52yeah. Oh, boy. I love Ronnie Alvarez and his
- 1:19:55slick attitude. It's a pretty weak card, all
- 1:20:00things considered. The one fight that I did note,
- 1:20:05Arturo Popoca versus Jordan Martinez. Jordan
- 1:20:09is a local kid, and they had a pretty good fight
- 1:20:12last time. Otherwise, Ronnie Alvarez is facing
- 1:20:18Philip Stankovich. How could you? It's going
- 1:20:23to be a stanky fight. How could you not be? All
- 1:20:27of a dither. But the main event, WBA bantamweight
- 1:20:34champion Antonio Vargas is facing super flyweight
- 1:20:38three belt champ Bam Rodriguez. I go right there.
- 1:20:45I want to make easy money on this fight. Actually,
- 1:20:48fun fact, my dad and I made a bet. He said, oh,
- 1:20:51Bam's going up to new weight. He's fighting a
- 1:20:53champion. I don't think he's going to knock him
- 1:20:55out. I think he's going to go the distance. I
- 1:20:58was like, oh, yeah, really? He spent 50 bucks.
- 1:21:00And we went to bet the 50 bucks. I showed him
- 1:21:02his record. He's like, oh, fuck. That's good
- 1:21:05money. I love Bam. I'm not high on him versus
- 1:21:09Inouye, but he's going to kill Vargas. He's going
- 1:21:15to get a knockout. Not much to say on this one.
- 1:21:17Like, the anti -BAM agenda is not because I actually
- 1:21:21hate BAM. I just don't believe he can beat either
- 1:21:24of the Japanese guys in his vicinity. This is
- 1:21:28not even an insult to BAM. But he's gonna completely
- 1:21:33fry Vargas. No, Vargas is cooked. Like, that's
- 1:21:38not... If it, like... It will go triple platinum
- 1:21:42in chat if... Bam gets knocked down in any way.
- 1:21:46Oh, that'll look bad. Like, at least with Estrada,
- 1:21:50it's like a veteran, like a legend. Living legend.
- 1:21:55Yeah, Estrada. This guy's been on the pound -for
- 1:21:57-pound list since half the users on our damn
- 1:22:01Discord were in diapers. It's acceptable with
- 1:22:05Estrada. Yeah, but with Vargas, no. It's going
- 1:22:08triple platinum. Yeah. It's going to be... I'm
- 1:22:22excited for it. I'm excited to see Bam again.
- 1:22:26We'll see if I have to resell my ticket. Matchroom.
- 1:22:32Hook it up. Hook your boy up. If they hook me
- 1:22:36up, then I can't yell, go on my son. you're supposed
- 1:22:41to be neutral from the press section yeah well
- 1:22:45it's okay you can get me on discord call and
- 1:22:48raise your phone up and i can yell with sol and
- 1:22:50i can yell go on my son we'll all say it together
- 1:22:53you bring a jbl speaker and your phone and you
- 1:22:56connect it you could just be like come on my
- 1:22:58son well well speak it bam rodriguez take my
- 1:23:02energy as vargas is like already down and out
- 1:23:08take a man while he's down You know, maybe Ben
- 1:23:13needed to go on my sons. Who knows? Anything
- 1:23:17can happen. It's boxing. That's true. That's
- 1:23:21true. Oh, man. Last card. Sunday, June 14th.
- 1:23:29Salida on DAZN at the GLC Live at 20 Monroe in
- 1:23:35Grand Rapids. The only reason I picked this one
- 1:23:41up. As I go up the card, it's not this one, but
- 1:23:45Brian Jennings, if you remember him, is back.
- 1:23:49Brian Jennings is still fighting? He is back
- 1:23:52in an eight -rounder against Robert Sims. I picked
- 1:23:59it up because Troy Isley versus Leonardo DiStefano.
- 1:24:05Troy Isley is a recent acquisition to Salida.
- 1:24:09What a name, by the way. Leonardo DiStefano.
- 1:24:14What a name. I usually wouldn't cheer against
- 1:24:19Troy Isley, but I don't want to have to tell
- 1:24:22DiStefano that he has to change his name. Like,
- 1:24:27bitch, if you lose, fucking quit disgracing me.
- 1:24:31Yeah, the name's a little touchy there. Brian
- 1:24:37Jennings, that's crazy. Sorry. I'm just like,
- 1:24:41holy hell. he's only 41 too I thought he was
- 1:24:46older but whatever Joshua Pagan is basing Rodolfo
- 1:24:56Bustamante and Jonathan Gonzalez versus Abraham
- 1:25:00Perez interim WBA flyweight title on the line
- 1:25:04and that's it that's all we got on the docket
- 1:25:12uh same day like i uh fuck dude am i gonna be
- 1:25:15watching selena promotions or am i gonna be yes
- 1:25:19you are ufc freedom 250 oh fuck um you can doubt
- 1:25:25you can uh dual wield by which i mean uh put
- 1:25:29on a movie i'll re -watch the martian or you
- 1:25:34know what i actually just uh bought project hail
- 1:25:37mary which i hear that's it you know what it's
- 1:25:40a It's not like a total masterpiece, but visually
- 1:25:46it's very nice. That's what I heard. Visually,
- 1:25:48it's really good. It's a great movie, too. Don't
- 1:25:52undersell it. It's a fantastic movie. No, I will
- 1:25:55undersell it because it's no masterpiece. The
- 1:25:57novel kind of sucks. I like the book. No, no,
- 1:26:00no. It's the best family -friendly movie you'll
- 1:26:02ever watch. It's a great movie, man. I really
- 1:26:06like it. I thought the book was fun. I don't
- 1:26:12give a fuck about it. I just don't like Andy
- 1:26:14Weir's prose. He interrupts the story with a
- 1:26:17lot of the technical explanations. Valid. That's
- 1:26:21completely valid. As a writer, I think it's a
- 1:26:25little clunky. There could have been a glossary
- 1:26:27at the back of the book with footnotes. Yeah,
- 1:26:30that's totally valid. He does the same thing
- 1:26:33in The Martian. Yeah, because there's a spot
- 1:26:37in the novel. where you just cannot have a technical
- 1:26:42explanation of how the atmospheres work. Like
- 1:26:46the clashing atmospheres of the characters work
- 1:26:48right in this moment. Like in the movie, it just
- 1:26:52flows seamlessly and it's great. Well, we are
- 1:26:58gonna head out. That's it for this edition of
- 1:27:02The Boxing B -Sides. We'll fucking catch you
- 1:27:06on the other side of BAM. Go on, my son. Go on,
- 1:27:12my son. That's my parting words. Go on, my son.
- 1:27:28Why should a boxing fan watch MMA? Okay, here's
- 1:27:35my pitch. The reason that a boxing fan would
- 1:27:40consider watching MMA in the year of our Lord,
- 1:27:422026, is that MMA is cheaper and more accessible
- 1:27:45than it's ever been in its lifetime. Our biggest
- 1:27:49organization, the UFC, has done away with pay
- 1:27:52-per -views. It's now just like a $15 a month
- 1:27:55payment to Paramount +, and you get 40 -plus
- 1:27:59fight cards a year. And it's not just the UFC.
- 1:28:04You have organizations like 1FC and Ryzen that
- 1:28:07put stuff directly on YouTube for free to watch.
- 1:28:11And you're able to see a wide variety of high
- 1:28:14-level skills. Like, this is not just, like,
- 1:28:16amateur hour shit, unless we're talking about
- 1:28:19the heavyweight division. But boxing fans can
- 1:28:21relate to the gap of skill there. These are some
- 1:28:26of the most talented athletes in the world, and
- 1:28:28they're fighting, especially if I can point out
- 1:28:31the Muay Thai stuff that happens in 1FC. It's
- 1:28:33phenomenal. Another reason that a boxing fan
- 1:28:37would want this, would want to jump in now, is
- 1:28:39that I think unlike a lot of the cards you're
- 1:28:42used to watching in boxing, MMA cards are worth
- 1:28:47watching from the start. You don't have to wait
- 1:28:50until the co -main to see... something that isn't
- 1:28:53complete nerd shit most of the times you're seeing
- 1:28:56even if it's a lower skill uh feeling you're
- 1:29:01still seeing fights that are exciting and compelling
- 1:29:04to watch um we just came off the backs of usc
- 1:29:07327 and that card top to bottom was like absolutely
- 1:29:11stacked so great example you can watch the whole
- 1:29:15thing for you know in bits and pieces or from
- 1:29:19start to finish and paramount plus right now,
- 1:29:21if you subscribe, so paramount, give us some
- 1:29:24money. We're doing, doing marketing for you.
- 1:29:26So that would be my pitch. Perfect. If you do
- 1:29:30decide to give MMA a shot, then why don't you
- 1:29:32check out ultimate effing casuals? It's kind
- 1:29:34of the same format. We talked the fights that
- 1:29:37happened in the past weekend. Then the stuff
- 1:29:39coming up this weekend, give it a shot. It's
- 1:29:42ultimate effing casuals.
