- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time of
- 0:05Speaker 1: y'all don't know y'all back a suit, looking back to
- 0:12Speaker 1: back down, giving them like a million bucks things. And
- 0:17Speaker 1: it's not good to Steve Hart to move together. For Steve,
- 0:30Speaker 1: please don't join joining me. You gotta use that turning them.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You gotta turn to turn them out. Got to turn
- 1:44Speaker 1: out to turn turn the water the water. Come come
- 1:58Speaker 1: on your thing, daddy. Uh huh, I show will a
- 2:03Speaker 1: good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now. But it only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 1: radio show man. Instead of trying to be about the
- 2:13Speaker 1: business to y'all, I'm I'm I'm doing all I can.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But you know what's crazy in the efforts that I make.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I can do more. And my father used to tell
- 2:27Speaker 1: me something when I was growing up. He says, son,
- 2:31Speaker 1: when you've done your best, and you've done all you can,
- 2:37Speaker 1: sit still for a second and just do a little
- 2:41Speaker 1: bit more. Always remember that, he said, When you've done
- 2:45Speaker 1: the best you can and you can done all you
- 2:47Speaker 1: can think of, he say, sit still for a minute
- 2:51Speaker 1: and do some more. And you know what I've discovered
- 2:54Speaker 1: in my life. Always have a little more. I ain't
- 2:56Speaker 1: ever just out out out completely. I can't take another step.
- 3:01Speaker 1: There ain't another breath in me, There ain't there ain't
- 3:04Speaker 1: another thought I can produce. I'm never completely out, man.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Just take a rest for a minute, man, and then
- 3:13Speaker 1: just do a little bit more. And that that. I
- 3:16Speaker 1: can't tell you how many times that's helped me get
- 3:19Speaker 1: over the top. You know. I was watching a documentary
- 3:22Speaker 1: about people climbing Mount Everest and how difficult climbing Mount
- 3:26Speaker 1: Everest was and how they have on the hill something
- 3:31Speaker 1: called like a death zone or killing zone, where the
- 3:34Speaker 1: majority of people run out of oxygen and they have
- 3:37Speaker 1: to turn back. Well, what's crazy is it's right in
- 3:42Speaker 1: view of the summit. You can actually see the top
- 3:46Speaker 1: of Mount Everest from there. But it's but it's that
- 3:50Speaker 1: little bit that's left that's the most difficult. Now that
- 3:53Speaker 1: I forgot all the reasons why they said most people
- 3:56Speaker 1: don't make it from there, and more people have lost
- 3:59Speaker 1: their lives in that area. I don't know what it is,
- 4:02Speaker 1: but the people that make it to the top of
- 4:05Speaker 1: Mount efforts, they all had to go through that same
- 4:09Speaker 1: zone or that same area, but they had a little
- 4:14Speaker 1: bit more that allowed them to get to the top.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You know a lot of people have had accidents up
- 4:20Speaker 1: there trying that, So I'm not even really sure if
- 4:22Speaker 1: Mount Everest analogy is a good one. But let's just
- 4:26Speaker 1: break it down a little bit more. Let's just talk
- 4:28Speaker 1: about life. There's a poem I learned back when I
- 4:34Speaker 1: host Pledge in its called don't Quit. It goes like this,
- 4:37Speaker 1: if I'm make a mistake, I'm just trying to drum
- 4:39Speaker 1: it up, So here we go. It says when things
- 4:42Speaker 1: go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you're
- 4:45Speaker 1: trudging seems all uphill, when your funds are low and
- 4:50Speaker 1: your debts are high, when you want to smile, but
- 4:54Speaker 1: you have to side, when cares are pressing you down
- 4:57Speaker 1: a bit rest if you must, But don't quit. For
- 5:02Speaker 1: life is queer with his twist and turns, as every
- 5:06Speaker 1: one of us must sometimes learn, And many a fellow
- 5:09Speaker 1: has turned about when he might have won had he
- 5:13Speaker 1: stuck it out. So don't give up. Though the pace
- 5:17Speaker 1: seems slow, you may succeed with another blow. Often the
- 5:22Speaker 1: gold is nearer than it seems to a faint and
- 5:26Speaker 1: a faltering man, And often the struggler has given up
- 5:32Speaker 1: when he might have captured the Victor's cup, and he
- 5:35Speaker 1: learns too late, when the night came down, how close
- 5:39Speaker 1: he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned
- 5:44Speaker 1: inside out. It's your silver tint of your clouds of doubt,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and you never can tell how close you are. It
- 5:54Speaker 1: may be kneel when it seems afar, so stick to
- 5:58Speaker 1: the fight when you're hardest hit. It's when things seem
- 6:02Speaker 1: worse that you mustn't quit. I remember it because I
- 6:07Speaker 1: had a special method of helping you remember stuff back then.
- 6:10Speaker 1: But I remember it at that point. My dad has
- 6:13Speaker 1: kept me. You know, we often talk about scripture and everything,
- 6:18Speaker 1: and then I don't see how I could live without it.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But every now and then, man, somebody has a writing.
- 6:23Speaker 1: God puts a writing on somebody's heart that delivers a
- 6:27Speaker 1: message man that can help people. I use every motivational
- 6:30Speaker 1: tool that I possibly can to climb this letter of
- 6:33Speaker 1: success or try to be the best fall and the
- 6:35Speaker 1: best husband I can be. I've done a lot of
- 6:38Speaker 1: changing over the years, and so have you. But change
- 6:41Speaker 1: is necessary in order to grow. If you don't make changes, folks,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you can't grow. I was a young man on my set.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I kept looking at him and a sharp little young
- 6:51Speaker 1: dude just on my set, and he had these dreads
- 6:56Speaker 1: and I mean they were they were super long, man,
- 7:00Speaker 1: they will well below the middle of his back, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: mean images long. And he kept talking to me, and
- 7:05Speaker 1: he kept talking to me and talking to me, say,
- 7:08Speaker 1: young man, kept talking to him, and I said, hey, man,
- 7:10Speaker 1: you know you do you're a huge self, a favor
- 7:13Speaker 1: in the business you're in. If you got a haircut,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you would do yourself a huge favor. I said, your
- 7:18Speaker 1: images everything, man, I said, you keep stopping me in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the hallway to try to tell me what you're doing,
- 7:22Speaker 1: what you are, but all I see is your hair. Now,
- 7:26Speaker 1: I keep trying to figure out what you're doing with
- 7:27Speaker 1: all that hair. Man, Now you can feel how you
- 7:30Speaker 1: want to feel. But I'm like an employer. I employed people.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So when I'm walking through the hallway and I try
- 7:37Speaker 1: to think of you traveling with me and you sitting
- 7:39Speaker 1: in a meeting with me, I try to imagine you
- 7:42Speaker 1: in your suit sitting there talking business with me. And so,
- 7:45Speaker 1: just like other employers are, I'm just having a real
- 7:48Speaker 1: story with you. So I said, man, you ought to
- 7:51Speaker 1: consider cutting your hair. He said, man, mister Harvey, I've
- 7:54Speaker 1: been growing his hair side a little boy. I said,
- 7:57Speaker 1: how hold are you now? He said twenty eight? I said, well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: how long you want to hang on to what you
- 8:02Speaker 1: was when you was a little boy? You know, if
- 8:05Speaker 1: you started growing your hair when you're a teenager. I mean,
- 8:07Speaker 1: you're twenty eight now. And I said, so, let me
- 8:10Speaker 1: help you understand something. Let me let me ask you something.
- 8:13Speaker 1: What does it do for you? He's a man, it's
- 8:16Speaker 1: just who I am. It's I said, so you your
- 8:19Speaker 1: have He said no, no, But it's a part of me.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I say, that part of you that you're hanging on to.
- 8:26Speaker 1: What does it do for you? I just like it? Well, dog,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I like ice cream, but I feed that. But if
- 8:34Speaker 1: I hang on ice cream and eat ice cream every
- 8:36Speaker 1: single day, my body gonna reflect that. What is it
- 8:40Speaker 1: that you hanging on to that you don't want to
- 8:43Speaker 1: let go of? That's prohibiting you from being what all
- 8:45Speaker 1: you can be? See, it's hard to be what all
- 8:48Speaker 1: you can be if you want to keep being all
- 8:50Speaker 1: you was? Don't that make sense to you? So I
- 8:55Speaker 1: can't tell you how many times I've had to change.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Change is necessary to grow you can't be all you
- 9:04Speaker 1: can be if you want to keep hanging on to
- 9:07Speaker 1: all you was. That don't make no sense. How do
- 9:11Speaker 1: you go forward? If you keep going backwards? You can't
- 9:16Speaker 1: stay here and go there? Do you understand that if
- 9:20Speaker 1: you want to go over there, you must remove yourself
- 9:24Speaker 1: from right here? Oh? I got right here is comfortable,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I got right here is safe. But over there's where
- 9:32Speaker 1: the shade is. Over, There's where the fruit is. Over
- 9:36Speaker 1: there is where the opportunity is over there is where
- 9:40Speaker 1: the mountain of goal is. So why are you stuck
- 9:43Speaker 1: on here? You got to leave here to go over there.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You can't be all you can be if you want
- 9:51Speaker 1: to stay stuck on who you was. Change his growth
- 9:54Speaker 1: is necessary. All let's go. You're listening, ladies and gentlemen, playoffs? Everybody,
- 10:07Speaker 1: let me have your attention. Today is not gonna be
- 10:10Speaker 1: another one of them days. Today is a new day,
- 10:14Speaker 1: new day, a new day? What day? Is it? A
- 10:20Speaker 1: new day? Day? Gonna be a new game? Is that
- 10:26Speaker 1: a song? Day? Something says a song? Oh yes, yes, yes,
- 10:32Speaker 1: trying to murder new day brings the reality that song.
- 10:41Speaker 1: But it's gonna be that? And tell me I heard
- 10:44Speaker 1: you say nude day. I heard a little naked and
- 10:47Speaker 1: put a little naked in your day. So that okay,
- 10:54Speaker 1: we just got here. We just put our clothes on.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Crack it. It's gonna yeah, a little chilly out, a
- 11:07Speaker 1: little chilly warm up. As the old people say, walm up,
- 11:13Speaker 1: how you feel? How you feeling up? Steve, you know
- 11:15Speaker 1: what I'm talking about, right, they're womb up. It's them up.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's any kitchen on top of it and just warm
- 11:24Speaker 1: it up and eat it, not around with it. Old
- 11:27Speaker 1: people had a house hot no matter what time of
- 11:30Speaker 1: the year. I can't. And man, let me tell you something. Man,
- 11:34Speaker 1: A couple of years ago, a couple of years ago,
- 11:36Speaker 1: we did. I took my family out on Thanksgiving. It
- 11:39Speaker 1: we delivered meals, meals on wheels, and we delivered all
- 11:45Speaker 1: day all you know, to families in need. We went
- 11:50Speaker 1: into this old lady's house. Come on, a man, it
- 11:54Speaker 1: was so I didn't now. And as soon as I
- 11:58Speaker 1: walked in, Lord Jesus, what not you? What is you doing? Downhill? Baby?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Didn't TV people know you down hill? She went to
- 12:14Speaker 1: her wonder and looked out the color. Ain't no police
- 12:17Speaker 1: with you? I said, no, ma'am, oh, lord, you want
- 12:22Speaker 1: me to call my nephews, I said, for what? So
- 12:26Speaker 1: they can watch over you? I said, ma'am, I'm from him.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I heard you was, but you don't. It's what time
- 12:37Speaker 1: is it? I said, it's twelve thirty. Oh you got
- 12:40Speaker 1: a little time. Wants you to be gone? You're gonna
- 12:42Speaker 1: stay till this dog? I said, not he I got
- 12:44Speaker 1: to do a lot of other house. Oh I thought
- 12:47Speaker 1: you were gonna stay a while. I said, no, just
- 12:51Speaker 1: drop this off. I got some more house. That's the
- 12:53Speaker 1: ten care of I said all that to say it
- 12:56Speaker 1: was the hottest house I've ever been in in mind
- 13:00Speaker 1: high life. And that conversation we had was taken two
- 13:04Speaker 1: damn long. I had reached that age, that hot stage day. Yeah, man,
- 13:12Speaker 1: it's gotta be honest. Really, Yeah, I remember my kids,
- 13:17Speaker 1: William come see me do that? Oh that's the reason
- 13:20Speaker 1: you made it all right? Coming up next more of
- 13:27Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Right after this, you're listening
- 13:31Speaker 1: to stew All, right, Steve. Before we went to break
- 13:35Speaker 1: you were we were all making confessions. I don't cook enough.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Carlos snapped, Uh, Tommy and the house, Yeah, Tommy, Uh
- 13:44Speaker 1: was naked Junior doesn't take his sister's calls. And you, sir, said,
- 13:49Speaker 1: you don't like watching your beautiful grandkids. And they are beautiful,
- 13:53Speaker 1: they are, And why what is that about your lead?
- 13:57Speaker 1: Like watching them? About have a lot of time? She
- 14:01Speaker 1: have been here. Always gotta tell him, so boy, get

- 16:58Speaker 1: out of it, and they can't fall. You move around,
- 17:02Speaker 1: that's it. I still like if if the little girls
- 17:05Speaker 1: stay over a rose and ell or something, do you
- 17:08Speaker 1: have to comb their hair and stuff? Oh? No, so
- 17:12Speaker 1: you just got the babies looking crazy if they take

- 17:33Speaker 1: to work because y'all always eating groceries? That's why. That's
- 17:39Speaker 1: a good answer too, because y'all are wanting to ask

- 18:11Speaker 1: have no fat black dude back then? What's up? Blue key?
- 18:17Speaker 1: You stupid atma? Why you always working because y'all keep eating.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But they don't understand that. See, if you have to
- 18:25Speaker 1: talk to them, you know, on their level, white Santa
- 18:28Speaker 1: Claus is way cheap. You can't how much things cost.
- 18:32Speaker 1: They don't understand that they need to learn this year,
- 18:37Speaker 1: just the real world. They they don't get it. They
- 18:41Speaker 1: just know that they're too young. They're too young for
- 18:43Speaker 1: one to learn. Just have these life lessons to learn
- 18:46Speaker 1: those lessons. Oh, they ain't too young to own the
- 18:50Speaker 1: eight hundred dollars. Eight hundred dollars, they're not too young
- 18:57Speaker 1: to ride in this damn Lamborghini car. See the hell

- 19:25Speaker 1: my car would don't work where it's or go do
- 19:28Speaker 1: something else. Pull your damn lipping and go do something else.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Going that damn TP I spent all that money for back.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Oh my god, they do have a Lamborghini car seat.

- 21:57Speaker 1: weird to you. Here's here's what's going on on. We've
- 22:00Speaker 1: just come up with a new discovery a lot of
- 22:03Speaker 1: information that Reverend none of his credentials are true. Everything
- 22:10Speaker 1: is false. He's not a minister at all, he never
- 22:13Speaker 1: was a minister, and every single wedding ceremony that he
- 22:18Speaker 1: officiated is basically null and void. So and I hate
- 22:22Speaker 1: to be the bearer of bad news, but you and Alphea,
- 22:27Speaker 1: even though you think you've been married for nine years,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you guys are not married. No, no, no, no, no no.
- 22:34Speaker 1: You gotta have the wrong person, because then that then
- 22:36Speaker 1: we got we got married by nine years ago. And
- 22:44Speaker 1: what I'm telling you is he he never was ordained.
- 22:47Speaker 1: He's never been an ordained minister. He's not a minister
- 22:50Speaker 1: at all. So when he performed this ceremony, you're a
- 22:53Speaker 1: wedding ceremony. He had no right to be doing that.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You guys are not are not married. You know you
- 22:59Speaker 1: guys are and living in sin for nine years. Hold on,
- 23:03Speaker 1: hold on that. Let me tell you something. I ain't
- 23:04Speaker 1: been living no man. My wife, we have been married
- 23:07Speaker 1: for nine years. And that man he's a preacher. I'm
- 23:10Speaker 1: telling he's a preacher. I'm preach land Sunday, Sir. As
- 23:14Speaker 1: of today, he has no right to be in anybody's pulpit.
- 23:18Speaker 1: He has no right to be officiating, whether it's weddings
- 23:20Speaker 1: or funerals, no matter what it is, christenings for children.
- 23:24Speaker 1: He's not allowed to do that. And we have officially
- 23:27Speaker 1: stopped him from doing anything serving under as being a
- 23:32Speaker 1: pastor or a minister. We have stopped that. But what
- 23:35Speaker 1: I want you to know is that you have been
- 23:37Speaker 1: living in sin and you don't. We want to try
- 23:41Speaker 1: and get you guys married as soon as possible, so
- 23:43Speaker 1: you're not living in sin. Oh no, doc, I have
- 23:46Speaker 1: been living in no sin. I have been married for
- 23:49Speaker 1: nine years. This woman ship have been taking care of
- 23:51Speaker 1: me and my kids for the past Wait. Wait a minute,
- 23:55Speaker 1: Wait a minute. You guys have children. Yeah, yeah, we
- 23:58Speaker 1: have two kids, two beautiful kids. Okay, then those kids
- 24:01Speaker 1: are bastards. Bastards. Hold on, hud on, let me tell
- 24:04Speaker 1: you something. My kids ain't no bastard. What about your kids?
- 24:06Speaker 1: Your kids in Bassots. No, Sir, Mikid, my kids were
- 24:09Speaker 1: born in wedlock. Your kids have been born out wedlocks.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I'm telling you Batman did my service, and he is
- 24:17Speaker 1: a preacher. He's a man after God's own heart himself.
- 24:21Speaker 1: He hasn't done everything that he could for me and
- 24:23Speaker 1: my family. He is a preacher. Sir. I know it's
- 24:27Speaker 1: hard for you to to to swallow the truth, but
- 24:30Speaker 1: I want you to know, and I need you to
- 24:31Speaker 1: be able to tell out Fia that you guys are
- 24:33Speaker 1: not married and not as of right now. No, no, okay,
- 24:37Speaker 1: so ahrder hud. Now, back in the olden days, but
- 24:41Speaker 1: before all these all these colleges and stuff came came about,
- 24:44Speaker 1: you telling me that they're men baking old days, that
- 24:47Speaker 1: they weren't no preachers, that they weren't meant men after
- 24:50Speaker 1: the cloth? Is that what you're saying to me? What
- 24:53Speaker 1: are you? What are you? What are you? What are
- 24:54Speaker 1: you getting at? Sir? What I'm trying to say is
- 24:57Speaker 1: back in the older day, baking the twenties and thirties,
- 24:59Speaker 1: they didn't have all these colleges and all these degrees
- 25:01Speaker 1: and stuff like these new preachers got these days. That
- 25:04Speaker 1: man now he was from back then, and God called
- 25:07Speaker 1: them and that's what they went on too. And all
- 25:09Speaker 1: the people that they married back then they did the
- 25:12Speaker 1: same thing to day. You don't need no degree to
- 25:14Speaker 1: say that you're a preacher. You don't need no life
- 25:16Speaker 1: to say you're a preacher. Man. My wife will been
- 25:19Speaker 1: mad for nine years. My kids have been born in wedlock.
- 25:23Speaker 1: We were married, we were mad. I've read my friends
- 25:26Speaker 1: and family. Day was all there, sir. The bottom line
- 25:29Speaker 1: is that that you have been living in sin because
- 25:32Speaker 1: you have not been married with your wife for the
- 25:34Speaker 1: last nine years. And your kids, I hate to say it,
- 25:37Speaker 1: your kids are bastards now O. Now I've told you,
- 25:41Speaker 1: don't say nothing else about my kids, and I ain't
- 25:43Speaker 1: no custom. But don't push me. My kids ain't no bassis.
- 25:47Speaker 1: You understand me. You don't getting the up, sir. I'm
- 25:49Speaker 1: trying to give you the truth and try to get
- 25:51Speaker 1: you in here and get you married so you will
- 25:53Speaker 1: not be living in sin any more than what you are.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I'm living in those sins. Look now, you don't make
- 25:59Speaker 1: me whoop y'all a ss. You understand man, and my
- 26:02Speaker 1: wife we have been married for nine years. Don't shoot
- 26:05Speaker 1: up here tilled me talking about the way. Ain't mad
- 26:07Speaker 1: that that man ain't gonna features you understand? I get
- 26:10Speaker 1: out of my soul, but you that's my life. Those
- 26:14Speaker 1: are my kids. They have been born in red lives.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Do you understand, sir? So? I just wanted to call
- 26:19Speaker 1: and give you the information so that you could probably
- 26:21Speaker 1: stop living in sin. That's all I wanted to do.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I ain't living anna saying that's what I just told you.
- 26:26Speaker 1: You ain't hitting me. I ain't living an no sin.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Maybe everyone that's living a fist of sin. Now, you
- 26:30Speaker 1: ain't got nothing else saying to me that man and
- 26:32Speaker 1: man that's nine years ago, they get you a SS
- 26:35Speaker 1: on my phone, sir so, I have one more thing,
- 26:38Speaker 1: one more thing I'd like to say. You ain't got
- 26:41Speaker 1: nothing else to say to me. You ain't get you
- 26:43Speaker 1: as off my dam's phone? Now, do you understand me?
- 26:47Speaker 1: I ain't got time for this for blues? Sir? Can
- 26:49Speaker 1: I say one more thing? What you gotta say on me? Now? So?
- 26:51Speaker 1: I just wanted to let you know that this is
- 26:53Speaker 1: nephew tim Me from the Steve warp in morning to

- 33:02Speaker 1: but you're always better to be prepared, and so that's
- 33:04Speaker 1: what we did, and we're happy that everyone had all
- 33:07Speaker 1: hands on deck over the last couple of days. Rescue

- 34:22Speaker 1: Susanne Douglas featured in several movies like The Inkwell Tap,
- 34:25Speaker 1: but she's perhaps best known as Robert Cownsen's wife Jerry

- 34:40Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening, morning show. We
- 34:45Speaker 1: here at the Steve Harvey Morning Show love food, all
- 34:47Speaker 1: of us. But there are a lot of foods we
- 34:49Speaker 1: think are from other countries that are actually invented in
- 34:52Speaker 1: the good old USA. And those are some of the
- 34:55Speaker 1: most famous ones. Like Fortune cookies invented right here. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 1: it was actually invented in San Francisco by a Japanese
- 35:03Speaker 1: American baker. Did not did you notice? I did fortune
- 35:09Speaker 1: taste good? They don't taste good. I like them with chocolate,
- 35:14Speaker 1: white chocolate on them. They're like, they don't Shirley, excuse me.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Our chocolate is the worst thing you could put in
- 35:24Speaker 1: your body. I absolutely know that. But it tastes real good.
- 35:28Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. I'm sorry, excuse me. You a
- 35:33Speaker 1: very wonderful health reason, and you just do it. I
- 35:35Speaker 1: know that I want. I don't eat it now, but
- 35:41Speaker 1: yeah I used to, and it's delicious. Orange chicken. How
- 35:44Speaker 1: about that one? That's good? Yeah? It was created in
- 35:48Speaker 1: Hawaii in nineteen eighty seven by Panda Express chef Andy
- 35:52Speaker 1: Ko or Kyle m. I didn't know that. Wow, I
- 35:57Speaker 1: didn't know that. See who came up with them noodles?
- 36:03Speaker 1: That crustation? Who came up with them? The copy German
- 36:11Speaker 1: chocolate cake German? My mama, My mama, Yeah, my mama.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I don't know who made it before. I don't know
- 36:21Speaker 1: who made it before. Anybody make it? Like Hurdle it
- 36:24Speaker 1: lost Vera Harvey, greatest piece of German chocolate cake old
- 36:28Speaker 1: the planet. I have German chocolate, but anyway, it has
- 36:34Speaker 1: nothing to do with Germany. Uh. It's because of its
- 36:37Speaker 1: name Samuel German that it's called German. Black people that
- 36:41Speaker 1: perfected it. Oh yes, hello, that coconut. Yeah, we've had
- 36:51Speaker 1: a lot taken from us. So hey, the ride of
- 36:53Speaker 1: that we took, We took the cake. Okay, okay, I
- 37:02Speaker 1: love German, all right. English muffins, English muffins from England,
- 37:08Speaker 1: from England. They were actually invented in New York City
- 37:12Speaker 1: in nineteen eighty four by English immigrant Samuel Bass Thomas.
- 37:17Speaker 1: They were rich, they were. Let me give you some
- 37:21Speaker 1: real dishes that was created right here in America. Okay,
- 37:25Speaker 1: come on, what's you guys? Shitless? Yes? Work it out
- 37:30Speaker 1: whether they want to be a not fright spam, Yes,
- 37:36Speaker 1: hot dogs and pork beans American dish. All right, there
- 37:46Speaker 1: you have it you're listening to all right. Sometimes we
- 37:53Speaker 1: all find ourselves in a conversation, okay, be a political, scientific, educational, financial,
- 38:00Speaker 1: than hip hop pop culture based conversations where we just
- 38:04Speaker 1: have no clue, I mean clue less to what the
- 38:07Speaker 1: person is talking about. Okay, So we'll sure to do
- 38:11Speaker 1: with sports busted. So do you guys chime in and
- 38:17Speaker 1: ask people to to get you up to speed or
- 38:20Speaker 1: do you just not in agreement like you know, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 1: like I actually get into conversation. I wanted to start
- 38:27Speaker 1: with you. Yes, I don't get into conversation like bringing
- 38:31Speaker 1: up a subject or you know, I ain't got nothing now,
- 38:34Speaker 1: I don't know nothing about it. Engineering making a bridge?
- 38:40Speaker 1: Oh man, you know, me and my father Man used
- 38:43Speaker 1: to work construction. You know, I used to work on bridge.
- 38:46Speaker 1: We had the cracks in the bridge, so I knew
- 38:49Speaker 1: all about the structural design over bridge and we called
- 38:52Speaker 1: the fracture spaces in it. And I just didn't let that. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: did you or your father go to engineering school? I
- 38:59Speaker 1: mean engineering and a construction company or oh no, no, no, no,
- 39:07Speaker 1: Now we work for this company, Frank buddy, Frank Buddy
- 39:10Speaker 1: contractor have you ever driven over a bridge? A lot
- 39:14Speaker 1: of That's how we knew how they cracked, you know,
- 39:17Speaker 1: structural engineering position is what we would take hold was
- 39:20Speaker 1: the uprooted problem that diverted the situation into a cracking. First,
- 39:25Speaker 1: he sounds good. There's like a board game like the
- 39:32Speaker 1: go ahead going car. I was gonna ask him though, surely, so,
- 39:35Speaker 1: how would you what would you recommend to update a bridge? Well?
- 39:39Speaker 1: I think update is a very bridge. Golden Bride Bridge
- 39:43Speaker 1: has been needed updated and repairing. You have been several
- 39:47Speaker 1: earthquakes as we wreaking the foundation. But I think what
- 39:50Speaker 1: we're gonna have to do is we're gonna have to
- 39:52Speaker 1: do a section at the time. I think we're gonna
- 39:53Speaker 1: have to break that bridge in half. So we had
- 39:55Speaker 1: this one way traffic going one way, and then once
- 39:58Speaker 1: you get the one one lane off and then you
- 40:00Speaker 1: can do the restructure work on the other side, and
- 40:03Speaker 1: then you reinforce it up under with welding beings and
- 40:06Speaker 1: how to join them back together. That way they fix
- 40:08Speaker 1: that whole thing with you mentioned earthquakes, Um, I was wondering.
- 40:14Speaker 1: You know, we're out here in La what do you
- 40:17Speaker 1: know that a lot of seismatologists have been on the
- 40:19Speaker 1: news lately saying there's a possibility that there could be
- 40:22Speaker 1: an earthquake coming up soon? You agree with that? Four
- 40:26Speaker 1: point seven? A four point seven? What are you basing
- 40:29Speaker 1: that on? Yeah? Because Lands was four point six you predict.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Are you a seismatologist? Buy any chance you have you
- 40:39Speaker 1: know anybody that is? No, I'm a quake atologist. Yea,
- 40:53Speaker 1: so far, so good. Yeah, anything just anything I couldn't got,
- 40:59Speaker 1: can get right with it. In houses, houses, you know
- 41:02Speaker 1: a lot about house Yeah. I grew up in a
- 41:05Speaker 1: housing projectologists I meant seismologists. Seismatologists. That's why I said quake,
- 41:14Speaker 1: because I knew you ain't know what you're Go ahead
- 41:18Speaker 1: and come. You know you know anything about design and
- 41:22Speaker 1: airplanes are absolutely absolutely you mean like the engines and
- 41:26Speaker 1: stuff are inside which one, Well, let's go be Yeah.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Rose Ross is number one engine manufacturer of jet planes
- 41:37Speaker 1: in the world right now, now that I believe, No,
- 41:40Speaker 1: that's from you. Yeah, I believe Rose Roats is number
- 41:43Speaker 1: one jet manufactured engine parts and motors in the world today.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And so whatever I'm picking out the plane, always go
- 41:52Speaker 1: Rose Engine. Okay, what's the best um feat to get
- 41:57Speaker 1: up um altitude? You want to fly at least thirty
- 42:00Speaker 1: three thousand, but if you in the old War substantial plane,
- 42:04Speaker 1: you can get up at forty nine thousand, which did
- 42:07Speaker 1: at that point you could see the curvature of the Earth.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I cannot argue this. I guess you're up there in
- 42:14Speaker 1: heaven almost if nine thousand feet in G five you
- 42:18Speaker 1: could see the curvature of the Earth ahead the planet,
- 42:22Speaker 1: so you could see that the world was round. Wow. No,
- 42:27Speaker 1: and that's a fact I can't argue with you. Because
- 42:31Speaker 1: I have new ideas about the thirty three thousand altitude.
- 42:35Speaker 1: All right, Steve, thank you. Up next, it is a
- 42:38Speaker 1: nephew switching gears with a prank phone call for today.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to sting show coming up
- 42:47Speaker 1: at the top of the hour. Right about four minutes
- 42:50Speaker 1: after it is my strawberry letter for today, subject he
- 42:53Speaker 1: wants me but not the children. Right now it is
- 42:57Speaker 1: the nephew's turn with today's prank phone call. You got
- 43:00Speaker 1: king of pranks. Uh, work husband, y'all understand that. Don't
- 43:06Speaker 1: you work? Work? Husband? Wow? I said you did you
- 43:10Speaker 1: get that? I did you? Yeah? I did. It was
- 43:14Speaker 1: so natural. I didn't even notice it until he didn't
- 43:17Speaker 1: notice it scared him. He focused and said, now quark
- 43:25Speaker 1: one more time, quirk, husband, it's not the husband where
- 43:30Speaker 1: you have the issues? Yeah, you don't even got to say, husband, quirk?
- 43:36Speaker 1: Where where where you are? No? I was quirk, husband,
- 43:48Speaker 1: work stopped blowing for you say it? He went to
- 43:51Speaker 1: class to class to try to Yeah, he's flung. How
- 43:56Speaker 1: long was the class, quirk? Husband? How was that it was? Yeah?

- 52:20Speaker 1: Yeah all right, Well, we could be reading your letter
- 52:25Speaker 1: live on the air like we're gonna read this one today.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Come on, nephew, buckle up, hold on tight, we got
- 52:30Speaker 1: it for you. Here. It is the straw Berry letter.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Subject he wants me but not the children. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 52:38Speaker 1: I am a forty nine year old female married to
- 52:40Speaker 1: a forty nine year old man. We have five children
- 52:43Speaker 1: and five grandchildren. Here is the problem my current husband,
- 52:48Speaker 1: he says, I have. I have five children and five grandchildren. Okay,
- 52:54Speaker 1: not we oh, okay, here is the problem. My current
- 52:58Speaker 1: husband is not the father of my children. I married
- 53:01Speaker 1: this man when my children were young, so he's been
- 53:04Speaker 1: in their lives for a very long time. My youngest
- 53:08Speaker 1: son just graduated from high school and we'll be going
- 53:10Speaker 1: away for college. So now my husband thinks that we
- 53:13Speaker 1: are done raising children and from now on it will
- 53:16Speaker 1: be just the two of us. He has said that
- 53:19Speaker 1: that we don't have to worry about the kids anymore
- 53:21Speaker 1: because they are all grown and have their own lives.
- 53:24Speaker 1: So am I not supposed to So am I'm not
- 53:27Speaker 1: supposed to be involved with my children since they are
- 53:30Speaker 1: no longer living at home. My children range from ages
- 53:33Speaker 1: thirty two to eighteen years old. And all five of
- 53:36Speaker 1: them live in different states. I want to see them
- 53:39Speaker 1: and my grandkids as often as I can. In fact,
- 53:42Speaker 1: I'd like to move closer to them. My husband does
- 53:45Speaker 1: not want anything to do with them period. He doesn't
- 53:48Speaker 1: want to visit them, and he doesn't want them to
- 53:50Speaker 1: visit us. He said that they don't need to come
- 53:53Speaker 1: for the holiday. What the hell he really thinks that
- 53:58Speaker 1: because they are adults, I am supposed to forget that
- 54:02Speaker 1: they exist. I understand that these are our golden years
- 54:05Speaker 1: and we should be enjoying quality time together and traveling
- 54:08Speaker 1: the world, but our travels should also include trips to
- 54:12Speaker 1: see my children. If he's really serious, I may have
- 54:15Speaker 1: to spend my golden years alone. Stephen Shirley, can you
- 54:18Speaker 1: please help me? Well, your letters started off nicely, so
- 54:22Speaker 1: I'll put it like this. Your husband, I'm sure, feels
- 54:25Speaker 1: like he's done his job and it's over. These were
- 54:28Speaker 1: not his kids. He raised them anyway. He's been in
- 54:30Speaker 1: their lives since they were really young, so he's done
- 54:34Speaker 1: and not being their biological debt. Like I said, the
- 54:37Speaker 1: ties are cut. He has no connection really to them.
- 54:40Speaker 1: It seems he cut them off and his concentration is
- 54:45Speaker 1: now on you and you guys the future together. He
- 54:48Speaker 1: wants to live, he wants to live his life, you know,
- 54:51Speaker 1: and do all of those things. But now I think
- 54:54Speaker 1: that he's being very unrealistic when he says the children
- 54:57Speaker 1: he doesn't want the kids to come and see you,
- 54:59Speaker 1: or he doesn't want you to go see the kids.
- 55:01Speaker 1: How is that? I mean, really, that's a bit unrealistic,
- 55:05Speaker 1: especially if it makes you happy to see your kids.
- 55:09Speaker 1: You're his wife. He should want to see you happy
- 55:11Speaker 1: and do those things that make you happy. I mean,
- 55:14Speaker 1: it's very unrealistic to say that. He really thinks that
- 55:17Speaker 1: because they're adults, you're supposed to forget that they exist. No,
- 55:20Speaker 1: that's not the issue, and he knows that's not the issue.
- 55:25Speaker 1: They are grown and they are living their own lives.
- 55:27Speaker 1: That part is definitely true. But you guys got to
- 55:30Speaker 1: come to some kind of compromise in terms of when
- 55:34Speaker 1: you see the kids and when you go see the kids,
- 55:36Speaker 1: even if you just go by yourself, you have to
- 55:38Speaker 1: see your kids. These are your kids, Steve, you're a parent.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Now he wants me, but not the children, Okay, that
- 55:51Speaker 1: I can relate to. I don't want mine either, Dough
- 55:55Speaker 1: God and on any day between the seven of them,
- 55:59Speaker 1: you can come get just like that. But we are parents.
- 56:04Speaker 1: You're forty nine, your band's forty nine. You got five
- 56:08Speaker 1: children and five grandkids. He's not the father of the kids.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Your youngest son just graduated high school going away to college.
- 56:15Speaker 1: So now your husband thinks that we've done raising children
- 56:18Speaker 1: and from now on there to just be the two
- 56:20Speaker 1: of us. He has says that we don't have to
- 56:21Speaker 1: worry about the kids no more because they all grown
- 56:24Speaker 1: and have their own lives. Okay, are you kidding me?
- 56:29Speaker 1: You really think that's how it goes? Do you know
- 56:31Speaker 1: that you are a parent for life. You may not
- 56:35Speaker 1: be a husband or a wife for life, but once
- 56:38Speaker 1: you become a parent, you're a parent for life. Now,
- 56:42Speaker 1: there are some good ones out there and there are
- 56:43Speaker 1: some bad ones out there. I got it, you, sir,
- 56:46Speaker 1: are about to turn into a bad one because you
- 56:49Speaker 1: don't get it. You are in your goal in you
- 56:51Speaker 1: And she said that later in the letter. Your kids
- 56:53Speaker 1: are from thirty two to eighteen, all of them live
- 56:55Speaker 1: in different states, and you want to see your kids
- 56:58Speaker 1: and your grandkids. Matter of fact, you want to move
- 57:01Speaker 1: closer to him. Your husband don't want nothing to do
- 57:05Speaker 1: with them, pig. He doesn't want to visit them, and
- 57:09Speaker 1: he doesn't want them to visit us. He says, they
- 57:12Speaker 1: don't need to come for the holiday. That's what the
- 57:18Speaker 1: lady type, don't need to come for the holidays. What
- 57:21Speaker 1: the hell? What the hell is right? Come home? Man?
- 57:25Speaker 1: Are you for real? Bro? You're gonna just act like
- 57:28Speaker 1: you never met these people. He gotta come home. He's
- 57:32Speaker 1: not ready to live on his own. And I got that.
- 57:36Speaker 1: The kids range from thirty two to eighteen. Man, do
- 57:40Speaker 1: you know how much advice they need? So how much
- 57:42Speaker 1: help they need, financial support they need? Come home, man,
- 57:46Speaker 1: That ain't how this work. Man, you crazy? And he
- 57:48Speaker 1: don't want them to visit. He don't want him to
- 57:50Speaker 1: come for the holidays. What the hell? He thinks that
- 57:53Speaker 1: because they are adults, I'm supposed to forget that they exist.
- 57:57Speaker 1: That's the craziest part of them. You gotta be nuts.
- 58:01Speaker 1: It doesn't work that way. Come on, man, I understand
- 58:05Speaker 1: that these are our golden years. You ain't before to nine. Hell, goldie,
- 58:12Speaker 1: But if that's how you want to look at it, okay, cool,
- 58:14Speaker 1: And that we should be enjoying quality time together and
- 58:16Speaker 1: traveling the world. Plans should also include trips to see
- 58:20Speaker 1: my children. If he's really serious, I may have spend
- 58:23Speaker 1: my golden years alone. We will be back in kids.
- 58:27Speaker 1: What you say, Steve's all right, We will be back
- 58:33Speaker 1: at twenty three after with part two of Steve's response too,
- 58:37Speaker 1: he wants me but not the children right after this.
- 58:41Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Steve. Here we are part two
- 58:47Speaker 1: of today's Strawberry letter. The subject he wants me but
- 58:51Speaker 1: not the children. Wow. Well, the youngest one and graduated.
- 58:55Speaker 1: The boy is five kids, none of him. He is
- 58:59Speaker 1: now he gonna why they graduated? They're gone. We threw
- 59:01Speaker 1: it in they out. He's saying, no, they have their
- 59:06Speaker 1: own lives. They're adults. They should be able to make
- 59:08Speaker 1: it on their own. I want to see my grandkids
- 59:11Speaker 1: as offer I can. It's what the woman says. In fact,
- 59:14Speaker 1: I want to move closer to him. My husband doesn't
- 59:16Speaker 1: want anything to do with them period. He don't want
- 59:18Speaker 1: to visit them. He don't want them to visit us.
- 59:21Speaker 1: He said they don't need to come for the holiday
- 59:24Speaker 1: to him. The ladies said, what to hell, No, we
- 59:29Speaker 1: don't come for the holidays. What is Christmas? About exactly.
- 59:34Speaker 1: He really thinks that because they're adults, I'm supposed to
- 59:36Speaker 1: forget they exist. I understand that these are golden years
- 59:39Speaker 1: and we should be enjoying quality time together and traveling
- 59:42Speaker 1: the world. But I traveled playing to be called trips
- 59:44Speaker 1: to see my children. He's really serious. I may have

- 1:10:28Speaker 1: you're talking about? I ain't And last time I walked
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: in my house and wasn't no lightsnesse. I want to
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: hear this old back when I was cutting grass and
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: eighty five turning point. Boy, when the last time you
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: stood out at a pump and pump gas you that
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: ain't bad? I actually did that about two years ago.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Two years Yeah, I was driving I was taking I
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: got a Cadillac Man, an old car, and I was
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: driving it and I looked down and I right at
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: the gas station and it sputtered and I had never
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: put gas in it. So I whipped into the gas
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: station right quick, and my car ran out of gas
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: at the gas pump. Wow, but hit the problem I
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: had though. I said that that at gas with a
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: drop top nineteen forty Cadillac, I'm sitting there and couldn't
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: find the gas cap for thirty minutes. I had the
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: call to dude and work for me and asking where
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: is it? Dam the gas cap on the nineteen forty
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: is under the tail, like you had to be laughing at. Yeah, man,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: you lift up the tail like, this's horizontal. You lift
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: up the tail like, and the gas the gas cap
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: is under the tail, like, How to hell would I
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: know that? I was got that thirty minute touching you
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: for had the trunk open all caniment You should see
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: me with that, But I had, but I had to
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: handle in my head. Yeah, just walking around a call
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: wow yeah wow, nineteen eighty five. I can't wait ahead
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: in front. All right, we'll be back with more of
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after. You're listening to
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: the Steven Show. All right, Carla, um me and just
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: some you know, just some random girls were talking. Um
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: we this question came up. It's like, because you know,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: we were taught to make up the bed when we
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: get out, make up the bed. No when it wants
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: to come home to an unmade bed. But it's difficult
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: if you're married, or if you live with someone you
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: sleep with them. What if you have to get up earlier.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: So the question is whose responsibility is it to make
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: up the bed? You know, no more of that. Just
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: because you're a woman and you're in charge of the house,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: you make it up. Excuse me, no, right right right right, yeah,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: But in our house it's whoever is last, whoever gets
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: up last. If I get up first, then you know,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Nesto has to make up the bed and he makes
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: it up really well. I must say, oh, really well,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Nesto needs to call my husband because he ain't making
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: up the bed like that. He will get now, you know,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: because we have to be to work so early. Of
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: course we I get up first, but he gets up
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: early too. He'll go to the gym and all that
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: to make sure I'm up. And but now, child, I
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: got to come right back in there and make up
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: the bed. Just sad, just sad. But let me let
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: me I've fussed and nagged enough. Okay, he ain't gotten
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: it just right? All right, hey, listen, follow us, yes,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: follow us on social media. I'm on the Gram at
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: my Girl Shirley and I'm at Lips by Carla. Don't worry,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: we'll post our bedrooms. I'll post the bed yeah, all right,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: all right. We'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Show Makeup You're Bad coming up in thirty three minutes
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: after the hour right after this you're listening to show.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: We here at the Steve Harvey Morning Show love food,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: all of us. But there are a lot of foods
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: we think are from other countries that are actually invented
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: in the good old USA. And those are some of
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: the most famous ones. Like fortune cookies invented right here. Yeah,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: it was actually invented in San Francisco by a Japanese
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: American baker. Did not I did? They don't taste good.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: I like them with chocolate, white chocolate on them, and
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: they're good. They don't know surely, surely excuse me. Our
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: chocolate is the worst thing you could put in your body.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I absolutely know that. But it tastes real good. That's
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: all I'm saying. I'm sorry, you a very wonderful health reason,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: and you just destroyed it. I know that I don't
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: eat it now, but yeah I used to, and it's
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: delicious orange chicken. How about that one? That's good? Yeah?
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: It was created in Hawaii in nineteen eighty seven by
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Panda Express chef Andy Ko or Kyle Cool. I didn't
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: know that. I didn't know who came up with them,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: that custation. Who came up with them? They can copy it.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: German chocolate cake, my mama, Mama, yeah, my mama. I
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: don't know who made it before. I don't know who
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: made it before. Anybody make it like Hurdle it lost
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Vera Harvey, greatest piece of German chocolate cake on the planet.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I have German chocolate. But anyway, it has nothing to
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: do with Germany. Uh, it's because of its name Samuel
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: German that it's called German. Black people that perfected it.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Oh yes, hello that coconut. Yeah, we've had a lot
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: taken from us, so hey, ride of that we took,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: we took. Okay, okay, I love German k all right.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: English muffins English muffins from England, from England. They were
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: actually invented in New York City in nineteen eighty four
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: by English immigrant Samuel Bass Thomas. They were rich, they were.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Let me give you some real dishes that was created
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: right here in a mirror. Okay, come on, what's you guys? Shitlands? Yes,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: work it out, whether they want to be a night
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: fright spram Yes, hot dogs and parking beans American dish.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: All right, there you have it. All right, we're coming
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show. As
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: a matter of fact, this is our last break of
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: the day. Steve's closing remarks. You don't want to miss it.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: It's been a good day. We'll be back at forty
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: nine after the hour right after this. You're listening to show.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: All right, Steve, Here we are last break of the
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: day on this Thursday. UM, take us home with some
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: closing remarks. I think the best way for me always
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: is to just be open and honest about my own
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: experiences in my own life. Somebody asked me yesterday, It said, man,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: how do you do it? How do you keep going
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: when things seem to be going so contrary to I'm
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: sure the way you wanted to go? And of course,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: you know I always kind of have an idea what
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: people are talking about, even though I don't address the
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: majority of it. But the question was a sincere question,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: and they weren't saying it to me to be mean
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: or to get a conversation started. They were seriously asking me, man,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: how do you keep going? How do you manage to
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: just show up and do your job anyway? When so
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: many things around you seem to be swirling, so many
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: things being said, conversations anything. I said, Well, here's the deal.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: I have been able to survive all the things in
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: my life because of my faith. I'm just being honest
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: with you. If God did not love me the way
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: he does, if God did not give me an extend
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: to me his grace and his mercy the way he does,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: I don't know how I would make it. But because
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: I have this unwavering faith, the belief in things that
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: I cannot see, because I understand that He covers me.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I understand that Isaiah fifty four seventeen exists. I understand
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: that Isaiah forty three one in two exists. That I
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: can walk through the waters and rivers and not drown,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: and walk through fire and will not be burned, Nor
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: what kindling set upon my clothing. Understand that no weapon
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: formed against me shall prosper. I understand that there are
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: principalities at work all the time. I understand that the
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: devil's job is to rob me and you of our destiny,
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: and he would challenge that any way he can. If
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: he can't get through to you, he will get through
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: to someone you love. If he can't get through to you,
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: he will get through to somebody you care about. If
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: he can't get through to you, he'll come through a
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: co worker. If he can't get through to you, he'll
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: come through a supervisor. If he can't get through to you,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: he'll use social media and ego find a way to
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: get to you, to shake your faith. The thing that
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: maintains me in all of it is my unwavering faith
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: in him. That God's promises are true. That he promised
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: never to leave me, that he promised that he would
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: be that and ever present presence in my life. That
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: he would always never forsake me. That when it looks
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: like it's going all wrong, that He is behind the
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: scenes working on my behalf and behind the scenes working
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: on your behalf. That relationship that I formed over the
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: years with God, that I've tightened up this year is
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: the reason I can stand and face all of my
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: trials and tribulations and stand strong and still go to
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: work and keep a smile on my face and keep
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: moving forward. The fact that I handle my triumphs and
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: my tragedies the exact same way. The fact that you
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: can't look at me and see no signs or struggle
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: on me, it is because of my unwavering faith. The
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: reason my faith is able to stay so strong is
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: because I've discovered in my sixty two years of living
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: that God has kept me even in moments when I
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: didn't know how I was going to be able to
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: keep myself. Because when you have a relationship with God
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and you leaning on his promises, and all of his
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: promises are true, what do you have to worry about?
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: What can man do to you? If God is with you,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: who can be against you? Who? What problem or what
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: person can you name or come up with as greater
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: than God? I can't. I can't think of anything. What
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: problem do you have that's bigger than God? I can't
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: think of anything. What situation do you think that God
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: can't bring you through? If you look back on your
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: life and realize that He's brought you through every other
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: one you've ever been in. Every situation I've ever been in,
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: God has cleared me through that one. He's done the
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: same thing for you. Just look back. Name the one
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: thing that God hasn't brought you through. Name it. If
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: He ain't bought you through it, He's currently pulling you
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: through it right now. You know how I know that's
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: true because you can hear me. God is a very
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: present help in the time of trouble. The reason I
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: have relationship with God is so when I get in
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: moments like these, I don't have to introduce myself to it.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: He has heard me before. I have called Him on
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: a daily basis when it's going good and when it's
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: going bad. So when it go bad and I show up,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: he recognizes me that I am his in his mind.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: That's why I can keep my head up. Y'all do
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: the same. Y'all have great weekend. Those are my clothes,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: are remarked. I'm already dropped him, Mike. Y'all have a
