- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 7: You all listening to the voice, Come on dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 7: one and only Steve Harvey oh Man got a radio show.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Man got a radio show, and a whole lot mold too, man.
- 2:15Speaker 2: God is good to me. I have no other explanation,
- 2:19Speaker 2: if I have no other explanation of my existence and
- 2:23Speaker 2: where I stand in this thing called life, except if
- 2:26Speaker 2: it was not for the goodness of God Almighty. If
- 2:30Speaker 2: it was not for His grace and his mercy, There's
- 2:33Speaker 2: no way I could exist the way that I do.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I will not be who I am or where I am.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I am who I am and where I am simply
- 2:43Speaker 2: because God is who he is.
- 2:47Speaker 7: If it was not for God, I would have no
- 2:50Speaker 7: testimony for you, because I would have failed every single
- 2:55Speaker 7: test plain, pure and simple. I can sit here today
- 3:00Speaker 7: until you flat out that it is purely because of
- 3:05Speaker 7: God's grace and mercy that I exist today because of
- 3:10Speaker 7: His favor. See now He shows us favor in life
- 3:14Speaker 7: because of a combination of things I've discovered. And this
- 3:19Speaker 7: is not the whole answer to life. I can assure
- 3:22Speaker 7: you as not. But this is a combination that I've
- 3:25Speaker 7: grown to understand better and better, and I wish I
- 3:29Speaker 7: had gotten it earlier in my life.
- 3:31Speaker 1: But here it is.
- 3:34Speaker 7: If you take faith and you combine it with an
- 3:41Speaker 7: incredible work ethic.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Then God.
- 3:47Speaker 7: Has the greatest opportunities to show you favor. That's the
- 3:54Speaker 7: best way I can explain success to you from my standpoint.
- 3:59Speaker 7: It is the combination of faith and work that produces
- 4:04Speaker 7: the most opportunities for God to show you favor. See
- 4:09Speaker 7: a lot of times we want God to bless us,
- 4:11Speaker 7: but we ain't doing nothing for him to bless So
- 4:14Speaker 7: now we sideways in the equation a little bit. But
- 4:18Speaker 7: see if you had the faith in God that God
- 4:22Speaker 7: can do anything but fail, that God will get you through,
- 4:26Speaker 7: that God will see you through. That the God is
- 4:29Speaker 7: the God you serve, is the greatest giver of all
- 4:31Speaker 7: good things if you kept that faith intact through it
- 4:35Speaker 7: all and you produced an incredible work ethic that allows
- 4:42Speaker 7: the most opportunities for God to show you favor. See
- 4:48Speaker 7: without that what you want God to do? See, you
- 4:50Speaker 7: can have faith and be sitting at the house watching TV.
- 4:55Speaker 7: There's nothing being produced, no opportunities for God to show
- 5:00Speaker 7: you favor. And you got to do some things man,
- 5:04Speaker 7: that you are uncomfortable doing or don't feel like doing,
- 5:09Speaker 7: or something that don't have the right payoff right in
- 5:11Speaker 7: front of your face, with the faith that it'll payoff
- 5:15Speaker 7: later on. See, too many people are working for the
- 5:18Speaker 7: right now reward, and the right now reward is not
- 5:22Speaker 7: how it works.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Sometimes the reward is coming later on up the road.
- 5:26Speaker 7: But the only way you can know that is if
- 5:29Speaker 7: you got to You got to apply the faith and
- 5:32Speaker 7: see the reason you don't know that that it's coming
- 5:35Speaker 7: like that, or you have to have faith to believe
- 5:38Speaker 7: that it's coming, because faith is the belief in things
- 5:43Speaker 7: that you cannot see.
- 5:45Speaker 2: That's what faith is. You know you're standing at let
- 5:48Speaker 2: me give you exam.
- 5:49Speaker 7: You standing at the crosswalk with a walk sign on
- 5:52Speaker 7: it and the sign flashing on the corner.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Don't walk.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Then that the signs say walk, What do you think
- 6:01Speaker 7: your chances are making it across that street?
- 6:03Speaker 2: Is what?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Pretty good?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Because guess what the signs say walk. You can see
- 6:09Speaker 2: the other side.
- 6:10Speaker 7: There's other people in the cross walk walking, So guess
- 6:13Speaker 7: what you strike out blindly? It don't take a lot
- 6:16Speaker 7: of faith to get across that streets.
- 6:20Speaker 2: That's not what I'm talking to you about.
- 6:22Speaker 7: I'm talking about the faith, the belief in things that
- 6:25Speaker 7: you cannot see, the faith that what I'm doing today,
- 6:31Speaker 7: I believe in my heart of heart that God wouldn't
- 6:35Speaker 7: bring me this far to leave me. That God is
- 6:37Speaker 7: a true, in living God, that he keeps his promises,
- 6:40Speaker 7: that later on, there's things that I'm working towards right
- 6:42Speaker 7: now gonna pay off later on. See, too many people
- 6:45Speaker 7: want the reward right now. See that's not the exhibition
- 6:49Speaker 7: of faith. If it's the right thing to do, if
- 6:54Speaker 7: it's if it's a good thing to do, if it's
- 6:57Speaker 7: a just thing to do. See if it's sin in it,
- 7:00Speaker 7: it ain't God, he can just clear it on up
- 7:03Speaker 7: right there. You can stop all the wondering. If that's
- 7:06Speaker 7: his voice talking to you, if it's the right thing
- 7:08Speaker 7: to do, if it's sin in it, it's not God
- 7:13Speaker 7: talking to you.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Kill it.
- 7:15Speaker 7: You can shut it down. You ain't got the wonder
- 7:18Speaker 7: about it. Go down there and secret venge that ain't God.
- 7:21Speaker 7: Go tell them off when you see him. That ain't God.
- 7:24Speaker 7: Anything that's got seining in it is not God's voice
- 7:27Speaker 7: telling you to do it. So you can kill that
- 7:29Speaker 7: conversation today. That's how you know. But if you aligning
- 7:33Speaker 7: yourself up, man, and what you're doing is just and
- 7:36Speaker 7: right and correct and pleasing in the sight of God,
- 7:40Speaker 7: it'll pay off for you later on. And see, here's
- 7:46Speaker 7: the best way I can tell to his Another one.
- 7:49Speaker 7: When you're going somewhere, when you're on the road to
- 7:53Speaker 7: going somewhere, and you know the somewhere that you're trying
- 7:57Speaker 7: to get to. Let's say you've set a goal of
- 8:00Speaker 7: for yourself, you know where you want to get to,
- 8:02Speaker 7: You got a good idea, and you own your way
- 8:05Speaker 7: to going there. Listen to me when it gets hard,
- 8:09Speaker 7: and it is going to get hard, when it gets difficult,
- 8:13Speaker 7: and it is going to get difficult, when it becomes challenging,
- 8:17Speaker 7: and it is going to become challenging when it becomes
- 8:21Speaker 7: all three of those things. When it don't look like
- 8:23Speaker 7: it's gonna happen, don't stop and complain so much. But see,
- 8:29Speaker 7: I know he don't bless me. But in the middle
- 8:31Speaker 7: of it, man, I felt a little heavy. And you
- 8:34Speaker 7: got to be careful when it gets hard for you,
- 8:36Speaker 7: because you'll find yourself complaining. And when you complain and see,
- 8:40Speaker 7: what you can't do is you can't complain so much
- 8:44Speaker 7: that you forget that the place that you're trying to
- 8:48Speaker 7: go to, you actually own your way there still. See,
- 8:53Speaker 7: don't get caught up into complaining and then lose sight
- 8:56Speaker 7: of your blessing that's actually happening to you. What really, man,
- 9:00Speaker 7: of all the times to register a complaint to God,
- 9:04Speaker 7: to sit up and go, hey, man, I didn't I
- 9:07Speaker 7: wanted to ease back into this thing.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Ease back in, man, you in.
- 9:11Speaker 7: It's a tornado worlding around you. You ain't got time
- 9:14Speaker 7: to ease back in. You gots to go on and
- 9:16Speaker 7: jump back in it. It is what it is to
- 9:18Speaker 7: whom much is given, much is required. Always appreciate the blessings.
- 9:22Speaker 7: Don't get so caught up in the complaints that you
- 9:25Speaker 7: lose sight of the blessings. Man, God got a lot
- 9:27Speaker 7: for you in your life, man, But you got to
- 9:29Speaker 7: have them two things, y'all. You got to take that
- 9:32Speaker 7: faith and you got to ply a crazy work ethic
- 9:36Speaker 7: to it. And that creates the most opportunities for God
- 9:40Speaker 7: to show you favor. And when God starts showing your favor, man,
- 9:44Speaker 7: all them seeds you planted, that, all of that wheat
- 9:48Speaker 7: you've been sowing, all of that hard work you've been
- 9:50Speaker 7: put in God to pay it off.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And He'll pay it off in ways that you don't
- 9:54Speaker 2: even see coming.
- 9:55Speaker 8: Okay, cool, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 10:51Speaker 2: Question? You know what, I'm so glad it's motivating. Man.
- 10:57Speaker 9: Somebody asked me the other day, you know, just trying
- 10:59Speaker 9: to give them some encouragement about going through stress and
- 11:04Speaker 9: you know, and I said, okay, I'm coming around to
- 11:10Speaker 9: stay with me, like the state with me. So you know,
- 11:13Speaker 9: I told them to get a stress ball. You know
- 11:16Speaker 9: what I'm saying, Because a stress ball, you know, you
- 11:19Speaker 9: squeeze it and it's it's it's for anxiety. It's going
- 11:22Speaker 9: it's for stress, right, And I told her, I said, well,
- 11:26Speaker 9: you know, they say, you know, they have been using
- 11:28Speaker 9: a stress ball. They've been squeezing it. Sometimes they bouncing
- 11:30Speaker 9: on the ground and it's just for stress. It relieves tension.
- 11:34Speaker 9: I say, well, it would probably help me vote more
- 11:37Speaker 9: if you took the stress ball and through it at
- 11:41Speaker 9: whoever is stressing you out.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying. That's what I'm talking about.
- 11:46Speaker 9: See, and that's what I mean about when I'm trying
- 11:48Speaker 9: to help you and be committed to stupid at the
- 11:51Speaker 9: same time, take your stress ball and bust them dead
- 11:54Speaker 9: in the head with it. That should relieve way more stressed.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And just squeezing and squeezing and bouncing it off the ground.
- 12:01Speaker 9: Take that stress ball and throw it at the person
- 12:03Speaker 9: that's stressing you out. And that's how you keep stupid stupid.
- 12:06Speaker 9: I'm motivated, brother, I'm motivated.
- 12:09Speaker 10: What was.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:12Speaker 1: The question was we keeps him stupid? Yeah, we keep
- 12:15Speaker 1: him stupid and the ball keeps you stupid.
- 12:18Speaker 9: No, No, the stress ball is No. It's how I
- 12:22Speaker 9: delivered that to them in a stupid manner. You understand
- 12:26Speaker 9: allows me I keep once, I keep delivering stupid information
- 12:30Speaker 9: that allows me to continue being stupid.
- 12:33Speaker 2: It's motivated, It really is. It's motivated.
- 12:37Speaker 8: Oh so you're to ask another way almost stupid motive.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yes, I'm a stupid motivator.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Are you okay with being stupid? Are you okay with it?
- 12:49Speaker 9: I embraced that, I embrace that. I embrace that, I
- 12:56Speaker 9: embraced Why would I not embrace what I'm good at?
- 12:59Speaker 9: You know what I'm saying?
- 13:00Speaker 1: Your talent the best?
- 13:03Speaker 2: Why am I running? Why am I running from that?
- 13:06Speaker 2: Why would I Why would I not run to it?

- 27:33Speaker 8: Why did he lie? And that is your concern?
- 27:37Speaker 1: What girl?
- 27:38Speaker 2: You don't a matter?
- 27:38Speaker 9: Why listen me and lie? You're trying to figure out

- 29:14Speaker 1: Baby doesn't know.
- 29:17Speaker 11: I bet you the baby gonna have more information because

- 29:49Speaker 2: How did your father affect your world view?
- 29:52Speaker 8: Your view of the world exactly.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I wasn't allowed to have no view of the world.
- 29:58Speaker 1: You just need to see what I see and that's all.
- 30:01Speaker 7: No worry about what they're doing over there in Spain
- 30:04Speaker 7: and all that. That ain't yourbiousness. You don't have no worldview.
- 30:08Speaker 2: You just see what I'm You just better look at
- 30:10Speaker 2: what I'm trying to show you in all this world view.
- 30:13Speaker 2: You get that later.
- 30:15Speaker 7: Uh huh, Well, right now, we're digging this hole and
- 30:18Speaker 7: put this post in and make these sense.
- 30:20Speaker 2: That's your view. Look down in that hole.
- 30:23Speaker 7: Make sure it's deep enough that I wasn't allowed to
- 30:26Speaker 7: have a worldview. Moshow coming up right after you.
- 30:33Speaker 8: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:40Speaker 13: Well, we are all fans, of course, of Richard Pryor,
- 30:43Speaker 13: the late great comedy legend. For about ten years, we've
- 30:47Speaker 13: been told that there is a film in the works.
- 30:49Speaker 13: Everybody's been talking about this film and the works about
- 30:51Speaker 13: the life of Richard Pryor. But it's been put on
- 30:54Speaker 13: hold now and definitely, but that didn't stop the whole
- 30:58Speaker 13: Richard Pryor movie talk from trend thing recently on social media.
- 31:02Speaker 13: After a screenwriter released Marlon Wayans audition to play Richard
- 31:06Speaker 13: Pryor on X, it caused a heated debate over whether
- 31:10Speaker 13: Marlon Wayans or Mike Epps would be better at Richard
- 31:14Speaker 13: Pryor H. So I have to ask you, guys, two
- 31:16Speaker 13: comedians who I know love Richard Pryor H. If the
- 31:20Speaker 13: movie about Prior's life resumed production, who do you think
- 31:25Speaker 13: should play Richard Pryor Marlon Wayans or Mike Epps?
- 31:28Speaker 1: Which one?
- 31:30Speaker 2: They're both good? We both know that.
- 31:32Speaker 9: Yeah, both they're exceptional. If you want to go what
- 31:37Speaker 9: who looks the part more is Mike Epps. Mike looks
- 31:41Speaker 9: the part. He fits the profile to me a lot
- 31:44Speaker 9: a little better. But they're both good man. They both
- 31:47Speaker 9: got skills, so I wouldn't I'm glad. I'm not picking
- 31:50Speaker 9: who's doing that. But Richard Pryor did his own.
- 31:57Speaker 8: Movie about himself.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Yeah, J.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah, nothing, and it was good.
- 32:05Speaker 8: It was really good.
- 32:06Speaker 9: And he told I believe he told the truth about
- 32:09Speaker 9: it all. And I just don't think anybody can beat
- 32:13Speaker 9: you being yourself.
- 32:14Speaker 13: So you know, Okay, back in the day, it would
- 32:17Speaker 13: have been Steve because he looks the most like Richard Prece.
- 32:22Speaker 8: Of all the comedians. Yeah, but you think, Junior, I think.
- 32:27Speaker 11: They're both great actors. They're both great actors. But Richard
- 32:30Speaker 11: Pryor did his own life story.
- 32:31Speaker 1: He did it.
- 32:32Speaker 2: I watched that.
- 32:33Speaker 13: Yeah, Marlon Wains, I remember him in the Reatha Franklin
- 32:37Speaker 13: story with Jennifer Hudson when he played the serious role.
- 32:41Speaker 8: Yeah, as her husband. He was really really good in
- 32:44Speaker 8: that serious role.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah. And in his latest his latest clip out is
- 32:49Speaker 2: good U what is it?
- 32:52Speaker 13: Is it?
- 32:52Speaker 2: A superhero?
- 32:53Speaker 9: And he's He's like, oh, yeah, the guy behind the superhero.
- 32:57Speaker 9: I can't remember what the name of it is.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yes, he does.
- 33:01Speaker 10: And he's playing on bel Air, the spin off show
- 33:06Speaker 10: is he he plays Will's dad. He plays Wills's dad
- 33:11Speaker 10: really really good. He's really okay. But Tommy, you're right,
- 33:17Speaker 10: Mike Epps, you guys are right. He looks like Richard
- 33:22Speaker 10: Prior but they both fished the profile.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Let out.
- 33:24Speaker 8: Yeah, don't you think hands are down?
- 33:27Speaker 13: Mike Epps is the cutest, is the most handsome comedian though,
- 33:31Speaker 13: don't you think.

- 38:09Speaker 13: and it is the best time to bring awareness to
- 38:11Speaker 13: the disease and advocate for research and for treatment. And Junior,
- 38:15Speaker 13: you're considered an ambassador for the disease. You've been advocating
- 38:19Speaker 13: for a cure for years through your Cures Hope Foundation.
- 38:23Speaker 13: You went down earlier this year and spoke to some

- 38:40Speaker 11: We are here, still here, Oh, one thing about it,
- 38:44Speaker 11: surely is that you know, I do this through my
- 38:48Speaker 11: foundation to let everybody know that it's okay to have
- 38:52Speaker 11: sickle cell and still be successful.
- 38:54Speaker 1: You can do both. Because sometimes I.
- 38:58Speaker 11: Hear people talk about was my life gonna be Like, well,
- 39:01Speaker 11: your life is gonna be fine.
- 39:02Speaker 1: You're gonna be great. You just have to understand it happens.
- 39:06Speaker 4: We have this.
- 39:07Speaker 11: Y'all do so much for me. It's hard to go
- 39:11Speaker 11: have a crisis. A crisis is really hard to do.
- 39:15Speaker 11: But I show up every time I come back. Every
- 39:17Speaker 11: time somebody said to me and said, what do you
- 39:19Speaker 11: ask God for when you were in the hospital, I said,
- 39:21Speaker 11: let me walk out this hospital.
- 39:23Speaker 2: I said it over one hundred times.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Surely, let me walk out. And that's what a lot
- 39:29Speaker 1: of us have to deal with. And Junior, yes, I
- 39:31Speaker 1: advocate for a here.
- 39:33Speaker 11: I'm hoping for a cure, but it ain't here right now,
- 39:36Speaker 11: so we still have to live regardless.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Doesn't matter those.
- 39:41Speaker 13: Let me ask you this though, Junior, and I'm sorry
- 39:43Speaker 13: for interrupting you, but for those of us who don't
- 39:46Speaker 13: know what an actual crisis is, can you explain that
- 39:50Speaker 13: to us.
- 39:51Speaker 2: A little bit?
- 39:52Speaker 1: It's like being thrown off the third floor of a building.
- 39:55Speaker 11: Third floor, you hit the ground, you stand up and
- 39:58Speaker 11: get hit by a truck going thirty five.
- 40:01Speaker 1: That's a crisis. So it's pain, You're pain.
- 40:05Speaker 8: You're talking about the pain.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Now, that's just the pain. Mm hm, that is it.
- 40:10Speaker 11: But then we also get mistreated because they think we're
- 40:13Speaker 11: drug seekers when we go into the hospital. So we'll
- 40:15Speaker 11: only in here for opioids, for drugs, and we're not.
- 40:20Speaker 2: M h.
- 40:21Speaker 1: We don't don't have that.
- 40:22Speaker 11: So I'm working on the foundation is working on. I'm
- 40:25Speaker 11: working on right now building a sickle cell center. Okay,
- 40:30Speaker 11: that way, come in here. We know why you're here.
- 40:32Speaker 11: We're not going to mistreat you. Yeah, because if I
- 40:35Speaker 11: go to a regular hospital, we get mistreated.
- 40:38Speaker 1: And why why is that? Why why do they think
- 40:41Speaker 1: you're in there for drugs? You're saying could be black?
- 40:45Speaker 10: Wow, because this disease affects only majority black people.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Black people, Yeah, yeah, minorities. So that's why we're in here.
- 40:53Speaker 1: They think we were in here, could be black.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Yeah, on judge my pain. That's what they do.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Judge here.

- 56:50Speaker 11: the Strawberry Letter with my good friend Shirley Strawberry.
- 56:53Speaker 8: Thank you, my good friend Junior.
- 56:55Speaker 13: Subject numbers don't lie, Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm thirty three
- 57:00Speaker 13: years old and single. My uncle is like a father
- 57:05Speaker 13: to me, and he helped my mother raise me. He
- 57:07Speaker 13: is a sweetheart of a man, and he loves the Lord.
- 57:11Speaker 13: He's active in his church and he will help anyone
- 57:15Speaker 13: that needs him. He's worked all of his life and
- 57:18Speaker 13: he's got a little fortune saved up. He's fifty eight
- 57:22Speaker 13: and he has never been married, so he was anxious
- 57:25Speaker 13: to settle down. The lady he's been seeing is not
- 57:28Speaker 13: marriage material, and everyone in town knows it. The lady
- 57:33Speaker 13: used to run with my mother back when my mother
- 57:35Speaker 13: was abusing alcohol and running the streets. She's known this
- 57:39Speaker 13: woman for over thirty years, and she told me that
- 57:42Speaker 13: this woman had a fling with my father while she
- 57:44Speaker 13: was pregnant with me. I try to be cordial with
- 57:47Speaker 13: the woman because my uncle asked me to mind my
- 57:50Speaker 13: manners around her. There's a rumor that my mom's pastor
- 57:54Speaker 13: used to mess with this woman too. This is way
- 57:57Speaker 13: too many bodies for my uncles. My uncle asked my
- 58:01Speaker 13: mom and I to meet him at a jewelry store,
- 58:03Speaker 13: and my mom instantly knew that he was about to
- 58:05Speaker 13: get an engagement ring. He got a very nice ring,
- 58:09Speaker 13: and I stayed silent. The next day I called him
- 58:13Speaker 13: and said that the lady has been with a lot
- 58:15Speaker 13: of men in our town. My mother was in the
- 58:18Speaker 13: background telling my uncle that he's being used and numbers
- 58:22Speaker 13: don't live. He said he'd take everything into account and
- 58:26Speaker 13: talk with the woman before he asked her to marry him.
- 58:30Speaker 13: A week later, they got married down at the courthouse
- 58:34Speaker 13: and no one from our family was invited. We tried
- 58:38Speaker 13: calling him and he blocked all of us.
- 58:41Speaker 8: I was only trying to help him.
- 58:43Speaker 1: How could my father.
- 58:44Speaker 13: Figure shut me out and pick her? Hmmm, well that's
- 58:49Speaker 13: not a hard question, because haven't you heard the term
- 58:54Speaker 13: stay out of grown folks business. Well, you know that's
- 58:57Speaker 13: what you've done here. You've gotten in some grown folks
- 59:01Speaker 13: business that you had no business being in.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Period.
- 59:06Speaker 13: He did it because he loves this woman, or he
- 59:10Speaker 13: can have sex with her, and whatever the reason, it's
- 59:13Speaker 13: none of your concern. Okay, he didn't pick her over you.
- 59:17Speaker 13: This is not a competition. He picked the woman he
- 59:20Speaker 13: wanted to spend his life with. You and your mom overstepped.
- 59:23Speaker 13: You're meddling, You're being messy. Don't you think if everyone
- 59:28Speaker 13: in town knows about this woman, so does your uncle
- 59:31Speaker 13: who's fifty eight and you know, been out there. He
- 59:35Speaker 13: knows what's going on, and that's who he's marrying. He
- 59:39Speaker 13: doesn't care, he doesn't care. That's who he's going to marry.
- 59:43Speaker 13: She is who he wants. Get used to saying that
- 59:46Speaker 13: and feeling that and knowing that, because he's done it already. Anyway,
- 59:50Speaker 13: He's a grown man with a few coins. He's worked
- 59:53Speaker 13: hard for his money, and now he wants what he wants,
- 59:56Speaker 13: and he wants her.
- 59:57Speaker 1: And what's it to you if he marries her.
- 1:00:00Speaker 13: He's not asking for your approval anyway. What are you
- 1:00:03Speaker 13: afraid he might give away his so called fortune because
- 1:00:06Speaker 13: I see you mentioned that in a letter.
- 1:00:08Speaker 8: He's got some coins and there won't be anything left
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: for you.
- 1:00:13Speaker 13: Well, there is a chance of that if he and
- 1:00:15Speaker 13: he is married to her and things will go to
- 1:00:17Speaker 13: her now, but you'll be fine. You can't miss what
- 1:00:21Speaker 13: you never had. So it's time now for you to
- 1:00:24Speaker 13: concentrate on your own life and leave your uncle alone and.
- 1:00:29Speaker 8: His new bride. Leave them alone. He doesn't want to
- 1:00:32Speaker 8: hear it. That's why he blocked you.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Okay, let this go, Steve.
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: Well, that is pretty simple for me. Thirty three year
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: the number the title of the letter is numbers don't
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: lie Now. This thirty three year old single lady, which
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: means she got time for this. Oh got an uncle
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: that's a father to uh you know, mother helped helped
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: her mother raise. Here's the deal. He's the sweetheart of
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: a man, and he loves the Lord. He's active in
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: the church and will help anybody that needs him. Well,
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: people that loves the Lord and active in the church
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: always willing to help somebody. Sometimes you know, they they
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: just want that wild thing. You know, they won't you know,
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: we we've been we've been serving the Lord. Yes, we
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: active in the church.
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: You know.
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: Well Saturday night and the church is closed. Okay, And
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: Dupop I'm gonna call him dupop. Dupop wants a wild thing,
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: so Dupop. And then you said he's worked all his life,
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: he's got a little fortune saved up, saved up. He's
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: never been married, so he was anxious to settle down,
- 1:01:59Speaker 7: he fit. When did he get anxious to settle down?
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: He there sixty now he anxious to settle down. You
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: probably don't know a lot about your uncle because your
- 1:02:17Speaker 7: uncle ain't been single the whole fifty eight years.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Your uncle don done some things.
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: Now.
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: You can call him a sweetheart of a man all
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: you want. And I probably think he is a nice guy,
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: especially to you and your mother. But do probably be
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: out there doing some things. And he doing some things
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: with a little wild girl too, and little wild girl
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: putting it on it, and he wants to bury this girl.
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: Y'all got a problem with it. And when I come back,
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: I'll give you the rest of it. Ain't gonna be
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: much of nothing. You ain't gonna like what I'm about
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: to say. Get out to what Cherley said, it really
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: ain't your business. We'll be back to find out that
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: it ain't your business right after it.

- 1:03:49Speaker 13: Come on Steve Let's recap today's strawberry letter. The subject
- 1:03:53Speaker 13: is numbers don't lie well.
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: This thirty three year old single lady who's obviously single
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: because she got time for this.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Her uncle's like a father to help her mother raise her.
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: He's the sweetheart of a man. He loves the Lord.
- 1:04:06Speaker 7: He's active in the church and he will help anyone
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: that needs him. Like I said before the break, he's
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: been loving the Lord a long time and been active
- 1:04:13Speaker 7: in the church.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: Do Pop want some wild thing?
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: Because church ain't open on Saturday night, and for he
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: go to church, Papa gonna do something wild. He'd have
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: worked all his life. He got a little fortune saved up.
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: He's fifty eight. He's never been married, so he's anxious
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: to settle down. I don't know how you think anxious
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: to settle down starts at fifty eight.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: But if don't, he's really late.
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: The lady he's been seeing is not marriage material, and
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: everybody in town knows that.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I want you to bear that in't mind, because I'm
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: give that information back to you shortly.
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: The lady used to run with my mother back when
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: my mother was abusing alcohol and running the streets. She's
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: known this woman for thirty years, and she told me
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: that this woman had a fleeing with my father while
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: she was pregnant with me. Okay, and didn't you say
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: that was thirty years ago? Did not you say that
- 1:05:12Speaker 7: was thirty years ago?
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: She did?
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: Wasn't she running with your mama? This is your mama, girl,
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: now all of a sudden, your mama good enough to
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: be mama, but the other lady ain't good enough to
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: be white.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Make up your mind now? You do know people change?
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Did your mother change?
- 1:05:36Speaker 9: Oh?
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: But this lady can't change. She used to run with
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: your mother back when your mama was abusing alcohol and
- 1:05:44Speaker 7: run in the streets. She's known this woman for thirty years.
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: Told me that this woman had a fleeing with my
- 1:05:50Speaker 7: father while she was pregnant with me. That's what your
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: mama told you.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:05:57Speaker 7: So so when y'all out to run in the streets
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: and abuse and alcohol, okay, I try to be collingial
- 1:06:09Speaker 7: with the woman because my uncle asked me to mind
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: my manners around her. There's a rumor that my mom's
- 1:06:16Speaker 7: pastor used to mess with this woman too. That's way
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: too many bodies for my uncle. Wait a minute, so
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: now a rumor is that your mother's pastor used to
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: mess with this woman too. Excuse me, you don't see
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: nothing wrong with the pastor though, So you're gonna skip
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: over your mama's pastor and go right back to her
- 1:06:43Speaker 7: being wrong. This is way too many bodies from my uncle.
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: My uncle asked my mom and I to meetium at
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: a jewelry store. My mom instantly knew he was gonna
- 1:06:53Speaker 7: get an engagement ring. He got a very nice ring,
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: and I stayed silent. Next day, I called him and
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: said that the lady has been with a lot of
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: men in our town.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: You know nothing about it.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: You're operating off a rumor and something your drunk mama
