Paul Revere didn’t become legendary because he won a fight. He became legendary because he carried a message with urgency. That single detail hits differently when we ask what it means to be a Christian witness today, especially as we reflect on the Fourth of July and the approaching 250th anniversary of the United States. We’re not the hero of the story, and we’re not responsible for forcing results, but we are responsible for faithful proclamation while there is still time.
