Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Hostages to Be Freed, Media Spins for Biden, but Trump's Hamas Threat Drives Results
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: We have got movement, big movement as Hamas is now
- 0:04Speaker 1: actually talking about releasing thirty three hostages in the first
- 0:09Speaker 1: phase of a quote emerging deal. Israel officials have confirmed
- 0:15Speaker 1: moments ago what brought this on Donald Trump, making it
- 0:20Speaker 1: very clear he wasn't screwing around when it came to
- 0:23Speaker 1: the hostages, warning you better get let him go before
- 0:28Speaker 1: I am sworn in, because there will be hell to
- 0:31Speaker 1: pay if you do not release the hostages before I
- 0:34Speaker 1: am sworn in as president. Stuart Varney also had a
- 0:39Speaker 1: very interesting conversation about how much this is connected to
- 0:43Speaker 1: the mentality that Ron Reagan had about the hostages in
- 0:46Speaker 1: Iran and the Ron hostage crisis when Jimmy Carter was
- 0:49Speaker 1: leaving office and I want to play for you on
- 0:51Speaker 1: the front end what Donald Trump said, and then the commentary.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Listen, if they're not back by the time I get
- 0:58Speaker 2: into office, all hell will break out in the Middle
- 1:01Speaker 2: East and it will not be good for Hamas and
- 1:04Speaker 2: it will not be good, frankly for anyone. All hell
- 1:07Speaker 2: will break out. I don't have to say anymore, but
- 1:09Speaker 2: that's what it is. And they should have given them
- 1:11Speaker 2: back a long time. They should have never taken them.
- 1:13Speaker 2: They should have never been the attack of October seventh.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And I'll just say it again, if this deal's not
- 1:18Speaker 2: done with the people representing our nation by the time
- 1:22Speaker 2: I get to office, all hell is going to break out.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Okay, they said it several times. Former US Ambassador Nato
- 1:30Speaker 3: joins US Now Kurt Wolka, mister am Maastera. I gotta say,
- 1:33Speaker 3: this reminds me of nineteen eighty. The hostages were released
- 1:36Speaker 3: the moment Ronald Reagan was inaugurated. What's the chance of
- 1:41Speaker 3: the Hamas hostages being released just as Trump is inaugurated?
- 1:47Speaker 4: You know, I think it's a very good chance that
- 1:49Speaker 4: this will move. We can't say whether it's going to
- 1:52Speaker 4: be exactly on an inauguration day, just before, or maybe
- 1:55Speaker 4: sometime after, but the dynamic is the same, and that's
- 1:58Speaker 4: what you're highlighting. You have a ram the principal actor,
- 2:01Speaker 4: both in nineteen eighty and today, Iran realizing that the
- 2:05Speaker 4: Trump administration is going to put on a policy of
- 2:08Speaker 4: maximum pressure and that includes military pressure. And now you
- 2:12Speaker 4: have a more direct warning from Trump, specifically on Hamas,
- 2:16Speaker 4: saying that all hell will break loose. So they know
- 2:18Speaker 4: that if they don't release the hostages. They know what's coming.
- 2:21Speaker 4: So I do think there's a very good chance that
- 2:23Speaker 4: this is turning up the pressure in a way they
- 2:25Speaker 4: will get the hostages out.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Now, you take a listen to what Trump said at
- 2:30Speaker 1: the time, and there was a lot of people saying, well,
- 2:32Speaker 1: he can say this, it doesn't mean it's going to happen,
- 2:34Speaker 1: all right, So let's go to the reporting Hamas. And
- 2:37Speaker 1: this is coming from CNN, So if you think it's
- 2:39Speaker 1: from some conservative website, it's not. And I love when
- 2:42Speaker 1: I can use CNN to show just how much of
- 2:45Speaker 1: a difference Donald Trump is making already before he's even
- 2:48Speaker 1: sworn in in the world.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Hamas is expected to.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Release thirty three hostages during the first phase of an
- 2:55Speaker 1: emerging ceasefire agreement that's being finalized and negotiat right now
- 3:01Speaker 1: in Doha. To Israeli officials have confirmed. Israel believes that
- 3:05Speaker 1: most of the thirty three hostages are quote alive, a
- 3:09Speaker 1: senior Israeli official total Reporters on Monday, but the bodies
- 3:13Speaker 1: of deceased hostages will also likely be among those released
- 3:17Speaker 1: during the initial forty two day cease fire that is
- 3:21Speaker 1: apparently a part of the deal. Hamas and its allies
- 3:25Speaker 1: still hold ninety two hostages taken from Israel during the
- 3:30Speaker 1: attacks on October the seventh. Let me say that again,
- 3:34Speaker 1: Hamas and its allies still hold ninety four hostages taken
- 3:37Speaker 1: from twenty twenty three October seventh. We also know that
- 3:42Speaker 1: at least thirty four of those are dead, according to
- 3:46Speaker 1: the Israeli government. Some senior Israeli officials have also said
- 3:51Speaker 1: that the parties appear to be on the brink of
- 3:53Speaker 1: an agreement, and that Israel's prepared to immediately implement the
- 3:58Speaker 1: deal once it has been inked. So this is very
- 4:03Speaker 1: obvious to me that the words of Donald Trump meant
- 4:06Speaker 1: something to Hamas and the words of Joe Biden Kamway
- 4:09Speaker 1: Harris meant nothing to Hamas. Now, a diplomat close to
- 4:13Speaker 1: the negotiations also told CNN a final round of proximity
- 4:17Speaker 1: talks to finalize any issues we're scheduled to take place
- 4:20Speaker 1: in Doha on Tuesday. The same day some of the
- 4:25Speaker 1: hostage families have been invited to meet with the Israeli
- 4:28Speaker 1: Prime Minister net and Yahoo, according to the Hostages and
- 4:31Speaker 1: Missing Families Forum. So clearly there's some coordination there with
- 4:35Speaker 1: that now, the release, they say, of the thirty three
- 4:39Speaker 1: hostages would be the first phase of the deal being finalized.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Then negotiations will be reached on the second phase, they say,
- 4:47Speaker 1: which is intended to end the war, and they said
- 4:50Speaker 1: would begin on the sixteenth day of the implementation of
- 4:53Speaker 1: this overall deal. Now, under the latest proposals, this is
- 4:58Speaker 1: what we're being told. I want to be some of
- 5:00Speaker 1: this could change, but this is what they're saying now.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Now, under the latest.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Proposals, Israeli forces would maintain a presence along the Philadelphi Corridor.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Now that is a narrow strip of land along the
- 5:15Speaker 1: Egypt Gaza border. Now during the first phase of this agreement,
- 5:19Speaker 1: the officials say, this will be basically extremely important in
- 5:22Speaker 1: part one. The presence, they also say, of Israeli troops
- 5:27Speaker 1: along that corridor, previously contributed to the sinking of a
- 5:31Speaker 1: potential deal in September during the last rounds of negotiations.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So all of this is moving, all of this can
- 5:38Speaker 1: change now, what they say is Israel would also maintain
- 5:42Speaker 1: a buffer zone inside of Gaza along the border with Israel,
- 5:46Speaker 1: the officials confirmed, without specifically saying how why that zone
- 5:50Speaker 1: would be. Another subject of contention during the negotiations was that.
- 5:55Speaker 1: And so this again comes back down to what changed
- 5:59Speaker 1: and what change, which is Donald Trump's threat and coming
- 6:02Speaker 1: back into office now. Hama's officials have also told CNN,
- 6:06Speaker 1: because I'm sure they have each other's cell phone numbers,
- 6:08Speaker 1: earlier this week that the group wanted the buffer zone
- 6:11Speaker 1: to return to what they described as the pre October
- 6:14Speaker 1: seventh size, which is three to five hundred meters or
- 6:18Speaker 1: three hundred and thirty to five hundred and forty five
- 6:21Speaker 1: yards if my math is right to put it in
- 6:23Speaker 1: terms that we understand from the borderline with Israel, and
- 6:28Speaker 1: Israel was requesting at the time two thousand meters. That
- 6:32Speaker 1: is significantly a different area there. Now, while all this
- 6:37Speaker 1: is happening, Jake Sullivan and the White House, what they
- 6:40Speaker 1: seem to be doing now is they seem to be
- 6:43Speaker 1: signaling now they're very close to getting a deal done.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And you have to understand that there's actually nothing more
- 6:49Speaker 1: that Biden would like than to say before he leaves
- 6:53Speaker 1: office that he ended the war in Israel between Hamas
- 6:57Speaker 1: has Blah the terrorists Iran in Israel. He wants to
- 7:00Speaker 1: take credit for this. So they are going all out
- 7:04Speaker 1: to try to get this done so they can say
- 7:06Speaker 1: we did a ceasefire.
- 7:07Speaker 5: I worked hard, I worked teriroristly, and I got all
- 7:09Speaker 5: this done.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Jake Sullivan, by the way, who has been a disaster
- 7:13Speaker 1: at the White House as a National Security advisor for
- 7:17Speaker 1: everything that we've seen in this administration from Afghanistan to
- 7:21Speaker 1: right now, it's been a massive disaster. And so what
- 7:25Speaker 1: he's wanting is something to also save I think, his legacy.
- 7:29Speaker 1: He went on CNN Safe Place for Him on Sunday
- 7:32Speaker 1: with Jake Tapper to talk about the quote evaluating they
- 7:38Speaker 1: said at the outskirts Biden's foreign.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Policy legacy as he leaves office.
- 7:43Speaker 1: That was their send off for this on CNN because
- 7:46Speaker 1: they want you to believe that Joe Biden's just amazing,
- 7:48Speaker 1: no matter what. We all know that's a lie based
- 7:51Speaker 1: on facts. But listen to what they said about what's
- 7:55Speaker 1: going on in Israel.
- 7:57Speaker 6: By proclaiming America is back and allies across the globe
- 8:00Speaker 6: could sleep easier. It turns out the world had other plans,
- 8:03Speaker 6: from Russia's invasion of Ukraine to the October Seventhlamas attacks
- 8:07Speaker 6: and Israel's response and much much more, joining US to
- 8:10Speaker 6: reflect on the past four years. Biden National Security Advisor
- 8:13Speaker 6: Jake Sullivan, Jake, thanks for being here. We appreciate it
- 8:16Speaker 6: as we come to the waning days of the Biden administration,
- 8:18Speaker 6: where across the globe, could you point and say the
- 8:22Speaker 6: United States is safer because of what we did here?
- 8:25Speaker 7: Well, I'd start by saying, our alliances are stronger than
- 8:27Speaker 7: we found them four years ago. They're stronger than they've
- 8:29Speaker 7: been in decades. NATO is more powerful, purposeful, and bigger.
- 8:33Speaker 7: Our alliances in the Asia Pacific are at all time highs,
- 8:36Speaker 7: and our adversaries and competitors are weaker across the board.
- 8:40Speaker 7: Russia's weaker, Iran's weaker, China's weaker, and all the while
- 8:45Speaker 7: we kept America out of war. So I think the
- 8:47Speaker 7: American people are safer and the country is better off
- 8:50Speaker 7: than we were four years ago, and we're handing all
- 8:53Speaker 7: that off to the next team, as well as having
- 8:56Speaker 7: the engines of American power humming our economy or technology, fence,
- 9:00Speaker 7: industrial base, our supply chains. So the United States is
- 9:04Speaker 7: in a stronger, more secure position, and our competitors and
- 9:08Speaker 7: adversaries are weaker and under pressure. I think that's the
- 9:11Speaker 7: main handoff that we will make to the incoming team.
- 9:15Speaker 5: I love how they call it a handoff. There.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Now, I played that for you so you understand just
- 9:18Speaker 1: how much propaganda is coming out from CNN. The fact
- 9:21Speaker 1: that Jake Tapper didn't interrupt him while he was putting
- 9:24Speaker 1: out all those lies that the economy is better than
- 9:26Speaker 1: it was before it that's a lie. That we're handing
- 9:28Speaker 1: them off a world with less going on than when
- 9:32Speaker 1: we got there. That's also a lie. Acting like things
- 9:35Speaker 1: are great in the Middle East also a lie. Like
- 9:37Speaker 1: the absurdity of the state sponsored media that you just
- 9:41Speaker 1: heard CNN there is disgusting. But this is what you
- 9:45Speaker 1: can expect because again they're trying to set them up
- 9:47Speaker 1: to say, oh, and by the way, you guys got
- 9:49Speaker 1: a hostage steal done. You guys got peace in the
- 9:51Speaker 1: Middle East. You guys were able to get these people
- 9:54Speaker 1: to come to the table. This is so difficult and
- 9:55Speaker 1: so hard. Great job, Joe Biden and Sullivan and all
- 9:59Speaker 1: your team on the way out the door.
- 10:00Speaker 5: That's what they're rooting for here.
- 10:03Speaker 1: You understand the propaganda here, and you understand that Joe
- 10:06Speaker 1: Biden's legacy isn't just about him it's about everybody that
- 10:10Speaker 1: worked for him.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Jake Sullivan's one of them.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And they understand that their legacy right now is that
- 10:15Speaker 1: they're leaving as a disaster. They want something to say,
- 10:21Speaker 1: look at what we did.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Now.
- 10:22Speaker 1: They can lie to you and put out the propaganda,
- 10:25Speaker 1: but I think they also know the American people aren't
- 10:27Speaker 1: buying it. And they did, they would have elected Kamala
- 10:29Speaker 1: Harris or Joe Biden, and the American people said no
- 10:32Speaker 1: to that. So Jake Sullivan is asked a question by
- 10:37Speaker 1: Jake Tapper right safe Place, CNN. You understand what I'm
- 10:40Speaker 1: saying here, and this question is straight up like, all right,
- 10:45Speaker 1: I want to help you. I want to get you
- 10:47Speaker 1: across the finish line here. I want you to, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: to look good to the audience. I want you to
- 10:51Speaker 1: feel good about coming on our show. And we're going
- 10:54Speaker 1: to do this and you're going to love it. It's
- 10:55Speaker 1: going to be great, right all right? So here I'm
- 10:57Speaker 1: going to ask you a question, right how close are
- 11:00Speaker 1: we to getting a deal done? And let's break that
- 11:03Speaker 1: news and act like this as your doing on the hostages.
- 11:07Speaker 6: Kay, go listen, Let's talk to us about some unfinished
- 11:09Speaker 6: business between Israel Lamas. How close is anyone to a
- 11:14Speaker 6: hostage deal?
- 11:15Speaker 7: Well, I can answer that question in two ways. We
- 11:17Speaker 7: are very very close, and yet being very close still
- 11:21Speaker 7: means we're far, because until you actually get across the
- 11:24Speaker 7: finish line, we're not there. We have right now President
- 11:29Speaker 7: Biden's top Middle East advisor, Brett McGirk in Doha. He
- 11:32Speaker 7: has been there for a full week hammering out with
- 11:36Speaker 7: the mediators the final details of a text to be
- 11:39Speaker 7: presented to both sides, and we are still determined to
- 11:42Speaker 7: use every day we have an office to.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Get this done.
- 11:45Speaker 7: Can we get it done before the twentieth It is possible,
- 11:48Speaker 7: but I certainly can't make any predictions that we will.
- 11:50Speaker 7: I will say President Biden is getting daily updates on this.
- 11:53Speaker 7: He is likely in the near term to engage with
- 11:55Speaker 7: Prime Minister net Yahoo, and we are not, by any
- 11:58Speaker 7: stretch of the imagination setting this aside. There is a
- 12:01Speaker 7: possibility this comes together. There's also a possibility, as has
- 12:04Speaker 7: happened so many times before, that Hamas in particular remains
- 12:08Speaker 7: in transition.
- 12:09Speaker 6: October seventh was obviously a huge intelligence failure, mainly the
- 12:13Speaker 6: Israeli's intelligence, but also our own. Here are you in
- 12:16Speaker 6: September twenty twenty three before the Hamas attacks.
- 12:22Speaker 7: And the Middle East region is quieter today than it
- 12:25Speaker 7: has been in two decades.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Eight days later, Hamas attacked, Israel has bawlued again, ramping
- 12:30Speaker 6: up its frocketfire into Israel. The Houthi's joined in firing
- 12:33Speaker 6: missiles from them. And what did the Biden administration, the Israelis,
- 12:39Speaker 6: the West miss about Iran's readiness to go at Israel
- 12:43Speaker 6: on all these fronts, Hamasa's Bola, the other militias and
- 12:47Speaker 6: the Houthies.
- 12:48Speaker 5: By the way, listen to this BS answer.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I want to play that for you because this is
- 12:52Speaker 1: Jake Tapper trying to say, well, I'm a real journalist, right,
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you a tough question about that
- 12:58Speaker 1: failure and intelligence. Why did it take you a year
- 13:02Speaker 1: and a half to ask that question? I got to
- 13:04Speaker 1: answer that this is propaganda. Jake Tapper would never have
- 13:10Speaker 1: asked the question he just asked about the intelligence failure
- 13:14Speaker 1: before election day because that would have hurt Joe Biden
- 13:19Speaker 1: and then it would have hurt Kamala Harris. And so
- 13:22Speaker 1: he cares more about protecting liberals and their power in
- 13:26Speaker 1: office and his access to that power than he does
- 13:30Speaker 1: about actually being a journalist, because he's not a journalist.
- 13:32Speaker 1: He's a mouthpiece for state sponsored media. They call him,
- 13:40Speaker 1: they tell him what they want him to talk about,
- 13:41Speaker 1: what they want him to say, and he just says, yes, sir,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you want me to jump master. And his master's the
- 13:46Speaker 1: Democratic Party and whoever's in office in the Democratic leadership.
- 13:51Speaker 1: The reason why I asked it now is because he
- 13:54Speaker 1: understands now that he doesn't know who his new boss
- 13:58Speaker 1: is yet. It's not I Keem Jeffries, it's not Barack Obama,
- 14:03Speaker 1: it's not Joe.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Biden, it's not Kamala Harris.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And so he's trying to now only because the election
- 14:09Speaker 1: has already been decided, only because it's over, Only because
- 14:13Speaker 1: Joe Biden is unpopular and Kamala Harris is unpopular and
- 14:17Speaker 1: they're leaving office in a very unpopular way. Is he
- 14:22Speaker 1: willing to ask the question that he just asked now?
- 14:24Speaker 1: He wasn't willing to ask these questions or beat down
- 14:28Speaker 1: doors in Washington when the atrocies happened. He's waiting until
- 14:33Speaker 1: it was a safe place for him and his access
- 14:36Speaker 1: to power to then ask the question, what over a
- 14:41Speaker 1: year later. That's not journalism, folks, that is a spineless,
- 14:46Speaker 1: fake journalist. And listen to Jake Sullivan's response to that question.
- 14:52Speaker 7: Well, first, Jake, you cut that clip pretty well because
- 14:54Speaker 7: the sentences before it, I said, this could change in
- 14:57Speaker 7: an instant, this could change tomorrow, because it's always true
- 15:00Speaker 7: in the Middle East. What I was noting was that
- 15:02Speaker 7: at that moment in September, you didn't have the kinds
- 15:05Speaker 7: of hot wars and other upheavals that you'd seen in
- 15:09Speaker 7: the previous two decades. But I noted that there were
- 15:12Speaker 7: two things in particular we had to be concerned about.
- 15:14Speaker 7: One was Iran and the other was the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
- 15:18Speaker 7: So we were focused on trying to bring solutions to
- 15:22Speaker 7: the Israeli Palestinian conflict, and part of the solution we
- 15:25Speaker 7: were looking for was moving down the track of normalization
- 15:28Speaker 7: between Israel and Saudi Arabia as a way to get
- 15:31Speaker 7: Israel to move on the Palestinian file towards a two
- 15:35Speaker 7: state solution. Obviously, that was disrupted in a very severe
- 15:38Speaker 7: way by what happened on October seventh, but we moved
- 15:41Speaker 7: immediately to support Israel, to stand up for our friends
- 15:46Speaker 7: and partners in the region. And if you look today
- 15:48Speaker 7: at where we are, Iran is at its weakest point
- 15:51Speaker 7: since nineteen seventy nine, and you also see the fall
- 15:55Speaker 7: of a side showing just how weak and distracted Russia
- 15:58Speaker 7: is as well. So there is a huge, huge opportunity
- 16:01Speaker 7: now alongside the very real risks that remain, for the
- 16:04Speaker 7: new administration to work towards a brighter future for the
- 16:07Speaker 7: Middle East.
- 16:08Speaker 5: I love it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: The propaganda here is just it's so thirsty for attention.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Right where we are very very close on a hostage deal.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You're not, Donald Trump is you guys couldn't get it done,
- 16:22Speaker 1: and they didn't give a crap what you said since
- 16:26Speaker 1: October the seventh of twenty twenty three. It's January of
- 16:31Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. The idea that you're close to getting
- 16:36Speaker 1: a deal done, you're not. The reason why a deal
- 16:41Speaker 1: is going to get done is because what Donald Trump said,
- 16:45Speaker 1: And what did Donald Trump say after after having a
- 16:50Speaker 1: one day conversation in mar Lago with congressional leaders, He said,
- 16:56Speaker 1: we want.
- 16:56Speaker 2: To get back those hostages for us. You know, we
- 17:00Speaker 2: do have people that are hostage is being held.
- 17:03Speaker 5: And I'll just say it again, if this deal.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Is not done with the people representing our nation by
- 17:09Speaker 2: the time I get to office, all hell is going
- 17:12Speaker 2: to break out.
- 17:13Speaker 1: He said it, not once, he said it, not twice,
- 17:17Speaker 1: He said it three different times. And the reason why
- 17:20Speaker 1: he said all hell is going to break out in
- 17:23Speaker 1: it if Gaza hostages are not freed, is because he
- 17:29Speaker 1: means it. And guess what they know he means it.
- 17:34Speaker 1: They understand that he's not bluffing. They understand that Donald
- 17:40Speaker 1: Trump will walk into office and go, okay, let's go
- 17:43Speaker 1: down to the situation room and you guys tell me
- 17:46Speaker 1: what we got to do to get our hostages back,
- 17:49Speaker 1: What are options here? And how do we unleash Holy
- 17:52Speaker 1: Hell on these terrorist organizations? They know he's not bluffing. Now,
- 17:57Speaker 1: the part that everyone should be talking about out and
- 18:00Speaker 1: the part that everyone should be like, the question the
- 18:03Speaker 1: media should be asking is how have you guys been
- 18:06Speaker 1: so week since October the seventh of twenty twenty three
- 18:09Speaker 1: that you guys couldn't get them to respond to you,
- 18:13Speaker 1: yet they're willing to move before Donald Trump even gets
- 18:16Speaker 1: into office. That's a question a real journalist would ask.
- 18:20Speaker 1: That is a question that Jake Tapper if he was
- 18:23Speaker 1: good at his job and not a propaganda guy would
- 18:26Speaker 1: also have made sure, yeah, I'm going to ask this.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I'm going to ask it because it's an important question
- 18:31Speaker 1: to ask. But he didn't ask it because he knew
- 18:35Speaker 1: that that was not a question that would help out
- 18:39Speaker 1: his team, the Democratic Party. A lot of people don't
- 18:42Speaker 1: know he worked for Democrats before he got the jobbies
- 18:44Speaker 1: in Now a lot of people forget that about Jake
- 18:46Speaker 1: Tapper's resume. Go look at his resume, look at who
- 18:49Speaker 1: he is, and you understand why he got hired by CNN. Now,
- 18:54Speaker 1: by the way, there's also another aspect of this story,
- 18:57Speaker 1: and it deals with our national security. There are still
- 19:02Speaker 1: people as we speak right now coming across our southern
- 19:07Speaker 1: border that are potential terrorists and those that are showing
- 19:11Speaker 1: up on the Territs watch list. How do we know
- 19:14Speaker 1: this because we have new news on four Iranian and
- 19:18Speaker 1: two Egyptian nationals that were caught illegally crossing our southern
- 19:22Speaker 1: border over the weekend. Now, before I get you to
- 19:25Speaker 1: that story, I want to go back to twenty twenty
- 19:28Speaker 1: one when this was a big moment of a red
- 19:33Speaker 1: flag for this administration to shut down the southern border
- 19:37Speaker 1: because agents were apprehending potential terrorists coming across the southern border.
- 19:43Speaker 1: ABC five out of Arizona. This was their story at
- 19:47Speaker 1: the time. This is again back in twenty twenty one.
- 19:50Speaker 8: Thank you, Cody, you must Sector Border Patrol agents have
- 19:53Speaker 8: arrested a potential terrorist. According to UMUS Sector Border Patrol agents,
- 19:58Speaker 8: the suspect was twenty one years old. They made the
- 20:01Speaker 8: arrest on Thursday and say he was arrested after entering
- 20:04Speaker 8: the US illegally. They believe he is a migrant from
- 20:07Speaker 8: Saudi Arabia, linked to several Yemeni subjects of interest and
- 20:11Speaker 8: a possible terrorist when he has not been identified. He
- 20:15Speaker 8: was wearing a Central County Volunteer jacket, which is an
- 20:18Speaker 8: ambulance county out of New York. News four to Tucson
- 20:22Speaker 8: reached out to that company, who says the suspect is
- 20:25Speaker 8: not connected to their organization.
- 20:27Speaker 9: I'm unsure of how he obtained it. We have policies
- 20:30Speaker 9: in place when a playe leaves and planet that we
- 20:32Speaker 9: retrieve all the property. But that particular jacket was used
- 20:36Speaker 9: for about ten years, which was well before my time.
- 20:40Speaker 9: So in of course a ten years wanted to have
- 20:42Speaker 9: probably slip through the cracks.
- 20:44Speaker 8: We reached out to CBP and are still awaiting their response.
- 20:49Speaker 5: Now I love that.
- 20:50Speaker 1: In twenty two I'm like, oh, you know, some terrorists
- 20:52Speaker 1: may you know I actually fall through the cracks there.
- 20:54Speaker 1: But it's nothing big, nothing you should actually worry about.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Everything's totally fine. Then there was the other warning that
- 21:02Speaker 1: came out, and it was a big warning. This happening again.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And this was the US Border Patrol Chief telling the
- 21:10Speaker 1: Trump administration back in twenty sixteen that you are inheriting
- 21:16Speaker 1: a disaster from Barack Obama and the number of AsSalt
- 21:19Speaker 1: on Border Patrol agents had gone up two hundred percent
- 21:22Speaker 1: last year, the final year of Obama in office. Again
- 21:25Speaker 1: another warning.
- 21:26Speaker 10: Listen, Good morning, Chairman Johnson, Rankimen Macarper, and distinguished members
- 21:30Speaker 10: of the Committee, thank you for the opportunity to allow
- 21:33Speaker 10: us to talk today about the United States Border Patrol.
- 21:36Speaker 10: During my first four months of chief, I've had the
- 21:39Speaker 10: privilege to travel to eleven sectors to meet with thousands
- 21:42Speaker 10: of the United States Borda Patrol agents, staff and leadership
- 21:46Speaker 10: from the Northern, Southern, and coastal borders, as well as
- 21:49Speaker 10: the United States portol Academy headquarters here in DC, the
- 21:53Speaker 10: Canine Training Facility, and our Special Operations Group in La Paso,
- 21:57Speaker 10: and all these interactions across the country, one thing was
- 22:00Speaker 10: consistent and abundantly clear. The men and women of the
- 22:03Speaker 10: United States Bord Patrol have one of the toughest jobs
- 22:06Speaker 10: in federal law enforcement. They are the most assaulted federal
- 22:11Speaker 10: law enforcement in the United States. More than seven four
- 22:14Speaker 10: hundred Border Toll agents have been assaulted since two thousand
- 22:16Speaker 10: and six. That rose in FY sixteen by twenties percent,
- 22:20Speaker 10: and year to date we're seeing the increase of assaults
- 22:23Speaker 10: of two hundred percent from the previous year to date.
- 22:27Speaker 10: It's a dangerous job, and since my short time here,
- 22:30Speaker 10: two Border Toal agents have already been killed in the
- 22:33Speaker 10: line of duty, Agent Manny Avarez and David Gomes. They
- 22:36Speaker 10: are faced with unforgiving terrain and weather, limited resources, long hours,
- 22:41Speaker 10: adverse conditions, and they're often called upon to go above
- 22:44Speaker 10: and beyond what they've been trained to do. They are
- 22:47Speaker 10: tenacious in the pursuit of getting better. They're innovative, and
- 22:51Speaker 10: they have a can do attitude. They are dedicated to
- 22:54Speaker 10: the mission this country themselves and doing something greater than themselves.
- 22:59Speaker 10: I'm honored to be serving with them. These these are
- 23:03Speaker 10: my first and most important observations of my first four
- 23:06Speaker 10: months here.
- 23:09Speaker 1: That is what they walked into. Trump did everything could
- 23:12Speaker 1: to fix that problem. So let's fast forward to the
- 23:16Speaker 1: headlines from today. Not only have we demonized border patrol
- 23:21Speaker 1: agents over the last four years, we've accused them, for example,
- 23:25Speaker 1: like acting like slave owners. Remember when they were on
- 23:27Speaker 1: the horse and they were whipping illegal immigrants. Even though
- 23:31Speaker 1: it was the angle the picture was taken, it never happened.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Remember that.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Remember how the White House came out immediately condemning the
- 23:37Speaker 1: actions of the border patrol agents. Right, the left came
- 23:40Speaker 1: out and they were condemning the actions of the border
- 23:42Speaker 1: patrol agents.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Remember all that.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and then there was more warnings, Hey, there's terrorists
- 23:47Speaker 1: coming across the border. Nah, we don't care about that.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Is it so happening? Absolutely? Four Iranian and two Egyptian
- 23:55Speaker 1: nationals have been now caught illegally crossing the southern US border.
- 24:01Speaker 1: US Border Patrol agents announced the arrest of six unique
- 24:04Speaker 1: migrants caught crossing the US southern border on Monday, January
- 24:07Speaker 1: the sixth. United States por Patrol Chief Jason Owens announced
- 24:11Speaker 1: the apprehensions of these of the four Iranian and two
- 24:13Speaker 1: Egyptian nationals attempting to illegally enter the US near El Paso.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Nothing to see here, right, This is totally fine, No
- 24:21Speaker 1: news here. Everything's good, right, significant arrests is how they
- 24:26Speaker 1: described as they announced that last week the United States
- 24:28Speaker 1: por Patrol agents in Olpaso apprehended four Ranian and two
- 24:31Speaker 1: Egyptian nationals, all special interest migrants attempting to avoid detection.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Record checks revealed prior attempted legal entries. They remain in
- 24:40Speaker 1: custom and will be processed accordingly upon the apprehensions of
- 24:44Speaker 1: these quote special interest migrants, meaning we believe there's a
- 24:47Speaker 1: good chance that they could be connected to terrorism or
- 24:50Speaker 1: terrorist groups. Records check to revealed prior attempted legal entries
- 24:55Speaker 1: into the United States of America. The circumstances of their
- 24:58Speaker 1: prior entries into the United States, as well as personal
- 25:00Speaker 1: or potential criminal histories are unclear quote unquote. At this time,
- 25:05Speaker 1: we're we're working to learn more about the situation.
- 25:08Speaker 5: They announce.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Now, this is what has happened while Donald Trump has
- 25:13Speaker 1: not been in office. The Left is decided to open
- 25:16Speaker 1: the border, allow everyone to come in and whoever they
- 25:20Speaker 1: want to let in, we let them stay. We look
- 25:22Speaker 1: the other way, and that's what they do. It is sad,
- 25:27Speaker 1: it is sick. It is also putting American lives at risk.
- 25:31Speaker 1: We continue to see right now this administration have a
- 25:34Speaker 1: wide open border policy, and the policy is going to
- 25:38Speaker 1: stay into effect until January the twentieth. Now it's going
- 25:41Speaker 1: to change drastically. But when you look at these types
- 25:44Speaker 1: of individuals coming across the southern border, if they're not
- 25:47Speaker 1: in here now, I'm sure the terror slite get there
- 25:50Speaker 1: fast in the first few days or weeks the Trump
- 25:52Speaker 1: administration while they're trying to get a secure border back
- 25:55Speaker 1: up and running. It's going to take time. And this
- 25:58Speaker 1: is the vulnerability that has happened and been caused by
- 26:02Speaker 1: the Biden and Harris administration refusing to keep us safe.
- 26:07Speaker 1: You go back to action. Speak louder than words sometimes, yes,
- 26:13Speaker 1: that is true. But what Donald Trump's actions from four
- 26:17Speaker 1: years ago proved is that his words now when he speaks,
- 26:23Speaker 1: others respond and react accordingly because they know he's not
- 26:27Speaker 1: screwing around. And so when Donald Trump comes out there
- 26:30Speaker 1: and tells you you better release the hostages, Hamas and
- 26:34Speaker 1: the terrorist groups around the world. They understand he's not
- 26:38Speaker 1: lying like they get it.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Folks.
- 26:42Speaker 1: They completely understand this threat from Donald Trump, and they
- 26:46Speaker 1: understand that they're probably going to die if they don't
- 26:49Speaker 1: do what Donald Trump says, which is you better release
- 26:52Speaker 1: the hostages before I'm sworn in, because if I am
- 26:56Speaker 1: the president, there will be hell to pay. One other
- 27:04Speaker 1: thing that is interesting, that's breaking news right now. Tom
- 27:08Speaker 1: Homan set down and was asked a question about birthright
- 27:12Speaker 1: citizenship as he is coming in to deal with the
- 27:14Speaker 1: illegal immigration issue.
- 27:16Speaker 5: And this is what he said, Should birthright citizenship come
- 27:19Speaker 5: to an end?
- 27:19Speaker 11: I'll leave that up to the president make that decisions.
- 27:22Speaker 5: But what's your opinion you think of ship.
- 27:27Speaker 11: I'll say this, birthright citizenship is a major driver of
- 27:30Speaker 11: illegal and garson and that's what the whole controversy is
- 27:33Speaker 11: about right now. Right if you're coming to the country legally,
- 27:36Speaker 11: which is a crime, you get ordered, you lose your hearing,
- 27:39Speaker 11: that federal judge says you must go home or you
- 27:41Speaker 11: don't show up in court, and you get what they
- 27:42Speaker 11: called order and absent you you order to remove and
- 27:45Speaker 11: have a US citizen child. People think this should be
- 27:49Speaker 11: mute it'll all means nothing to you now, because you
- 27:51Speaker 11: knew you're in the country legally, you chose to have
- 27:54Speaker 11: an illegal aling. I mean, you chose to have a
- 27:56Speaker 11: US citizen child knowing you're in the country legally, knowing
- 27:59Speaker 11: your ordered and you wouldn't made that decision. That's on you.
- 28:03Speaker 5: That's on you.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Notice how everything is changing before he's even sworn in,
- 28:10Speaker 1: and they're going to keep lying to you and they're
- 28:12Speaker 1: going to try to undermine Donald Trump. But the fact
- 28:15Speaker 1: is Donald Trump is feared by the terrorists as much
- 28:17Speaker 1: as he's feared apparently now by the Democratic Party in
- 28:20Speaker 1: the media, and it is going to be really fun
- 28:23Speaker 1: to watch. We're going to cover it all every day
- 28:26Speaker 1: for you. Make sure you have that subscribe auto download button,
- 28:29Speaker 1: and I will see you back here tomorrow on the program.
