  An interesting verse today, James 5 .1. In chapter

  5 of the book of James, in verse 1, it says,

  Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries
• 0:15
  which are coming upon you. The truth is, it's
• 0:19
  kind of ironic in a way, because on the one hand,
• 0:21
  people are good at weeping and howling. We want
• 0:24
  to complain about whatever our circumstances
• 0:26
  is. But the truth is, when we're feeling pretty
• 0:29
  rich, that may not be the time at which people
• 0:31
  are jumping on the weeping and moaning bandwagon.
• 0:37
  But we are warned by God that being a little
• 0:41
  too attached to your treasure is a little too
• 0:43
  dangerous for this lifetime. And so we need to
• 0:47
  realize we're all rich in one way or another
• 0:50
  and consider that if you're celebrating your
• 0:53
  riches, you're forgetting. that the author of
• 0:56
  those riches, whatever they might be, is God.
• 0:59
  And Jesus and others, Mary, Zechariah, a variety
• 1:05
  of individuals throughout Scripture, Paul, have
• 1:08
  warned James, this is the brother of Jesus, James,
• 1:11
  warned people, be careful about being rich, being
• 1:15
  excited about being rich, because if you've got
• 1:17
  a little too much, you're in big trouble for
• 1:20
  what's coming ahead of you. I would submit today
• 1:24
  that we're blessed and we should be grateful
• 1:27
  and we should look to God in obedience and in
• 1:30
  repentance and let him teach us how to use each
• 1:33
  of the resources that we've been blessed with.
• 1:36
  James 5 .1, Come now, you rich, weep and howl
• 1:40
  for your miseries are coming upon you. That's
• 1:43
  not going to be me if I can help it. Praise God,

  he's blessed me with a lot of things. I know

  he's blessed you too.
