Right-of-way: Brigham City emergency vehicles equipped with traffic light switching tech to help improve safety, response times
Brigham City emergency vehicles now have the ability to communicate with traffic signals, allowing first responders to safely clear intersections while reducing the risk of crashes. During a demonstration Thursday morning, Brigham City Fire Engine 221, driven by Capt. Race Black made multiple passes through the Fifth West and Forest Street intersection. On each approach, the traffic light changed from red to green while the cross-street signal completed a normal green-to-yellow-to-red cycle, allowing the emergency vehicle to continue through the intersection without stopping.
