- 0:00The B -Side and Boxing. B -Side shit. B -Side.
- 0:04B -Side. And the B -Side. You got a B -Side.
- 0:06The B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. The B
- 0:10-Side thing. This is the B -Sides Boxing Podcast.
- 0:22Let's fucking boogie. Boxing B -Sides. What?
- 0:28How long has it been since the Trinity was complete?
- 0:34We are joined by my fellow B -Sides, Saul from
- 0:39Discord. You know him from Discord. If you're
- 0:42listening from Discord, you know who this guy
- 0:44is. What's up, yo? And our old homie, Josh is
- 0:50back. Hey. We welcome you back with open arms.
- 0:59All right. Well, what do you think? You think
- 1:02this one's kind of light and we should just get
- 1:03right into it? Or... The Pacquiao one, right?
- 1:09Yeah. We've got a lot to talk about. So, yeah,
- 1:13let's get right into it. Extending the olive
- 1:16branch to the ultimate effing casuals. Just in
- 1:19case you are not, we're going to still tell you
- 1:23a little bit about the MMA world. Two fights,
- 1:26July 19th. pfl champion series in africa this
- 1:31is the first of a few events at the end a tournament
- 1:35that they're gonna do there uh let's see one
- 1:39two worth mentioning dakota decheva versus sumiko
- 1:43inaba dakota is like if you're maybe mma curious
- 1:50and you're thinking you're thinking about checking
- 1:53it out This is the type of fighter that you want
- 1:56to see, especially if you're coming from a boxing
- 1:59purist sort of mentality. Deceva doesn't grapple.
- 2:03She doesn't need to because she just whips everyone's
- 2:06ass. It's a beautiful thing to see. Johnny Eblen
- 2:14loses his PFL title to Costello Van Stennis.
- 2:23The interesting part about this, besides it being
- 2:29a pretty big upset, is that what made it such
- 2:35an upset was that Costello came from a striking
- 2:38background. And he came in to submit Johnny Eblen,
- 2:42who has the world of experience over Costello.
- 2:47So it was pretty wild. UFC 318. Hold on, let
- 2:55me make sure. Okay. UFC 318 at the Smoothie King
- 3:00Center in NOLA. I'll spare you all of the card
- 3:07and just mention Max Holloway beats Dustin Poirier.
- 3:10This was Dustin's retirement fight. This was
- 3:16like a special guy. He was really dear to the
- 3:19fans. This was like a... Max Holloway also being
- 3:25a fan favorite. It's like, who the fuck do I
- 3:27pick here? But Dustin gets beat 4 -1. And what
- 3:35are you going to do? Rides off into the sunset
- 3:39with an L. It was a very good send -off. It was.
- 3:44It was an incredible fight. It was so much fun.
- 3:48It was very entertaining. Even for Dustin to
- 3:52go off with an L here, still, this is like a
- 3:56warrior send -off. It wasn't sad or anything?
- 4:00No, absolutely not. Not at all. Not like the
- 4:04typical retirement fights. We'll get to one in
- 4:09just a moment. Moving into the boxing recaps.
- 4:15All of our recaps are from the same weekend,
- 4:18July 19th. Let's start really quick with we're
- 4:22going to go from the smallest up instead of the
- 4:26bottom. It kind of is the bottom up as well.
- 4:32At the Star at the Frisco in Frisco, Texas. Apparently
- 4:42this is the Dallas Cowboys training center or
- 4:46some shit. However it is they put it. Some stuff
- 4:52going from the bottom to the top of the card.
- 4:55Nishant Dev gets a stoppage in six over Omar
- 4:58Rosales. I was very interested in seeing how
- 5:02this and the next fight went. Omari Jones, stoppage
- 5:07in three over Alfredo Blanco. Is this business
- 5:11as usual? Saul, what do you think? Obviously,
- 5:15they're going to keep feeding Amari Jones the
- 5:18typical cam and eggers for the next couple of
- 5:22years. But I would say, yeah, for the next two
- 5:26years, it's going to be the same thing from Amari
- 5:27Jones. Yeah, this level of opponent, rinse and
- 5:31repeat. It makes me wonder, to compare, just
- 5:37thinking of another prospect that's on his way
- 5:41up. Tara Moana is being fed cans because Tara
- 5:48Moana doesn't really have any other experience.
- 5:51But Omari Jones had an extensive amateur background,
- 5:55didn't he? Yeah, he went to the Olympics. I remember
- 5:59watching him. So he doesn't need to be babied
- 6:03is what I'm thinking. I still feel like they
- 6:08will still develop him. Yeah. I mean, it's a
- 6:13match for me now. I don't know what the promotional
- 6:16companies do. The only time I feel like I've
- 6:21seen amateurs kind of get rushed is kind of with
- 6:24Lomachenko, but he had an extensive amateur career.
- 6:27That one makes sense. He's probably one of the
- 6:30greatest amateurs of all time. Of course, they
- 6:32would give him a title shot within his first
- 6:34couple fights. That does make sense. But everybody
- 6:38else right now, like Moten, Vargas, Even Abdullah.
- 6:43Abdullah is barely... Oh, like Richard Torres
- 6:45is the example of a... An Olympian that's still
- 6:49being chivvy. Olympian that's... Olympian is
- 6:53still dragging his fucking feet. He should, honestly,
- 6:57Richard Torres should be stepping up to contender
- 6:59anytime soon, within the next year or so. Because
- 7:04otherwise... He should have already been there.
- 7:05Like, he's probably going to get found out. But...
- 7:09Well, we'll see. He last fought Vianello, so
- 7:12I think he's stepping up soon. That fight itself
- 7:17was a step up, so I can't take that away from
- 7:19him. Even though that wasn't the best performance,
- 7:21he still won. So I would say, given about another
- 7:24year, he might be within the top 15 if he stays
- 7:28undefeated. Actually, this is a little bit of
- 7:36a teaser. I think with... the way u6 performance
- 7:41went that we could con we could really consider
- 7:45that all of a lot of the top the titan weight
- 7:49like the super huge guys that are at heavyweight
- 7:53right now we might be seeing those guys go by
- 7:56the wayside a little bit and the u6 only like
- 8:00six two six three so six three six three so for
- 8:04richard torres to come in at what six one six
- 8:08two it's not that freak. It's not that weird
- 8:12or it's not that freakish of a jump off from
- 8:16like the, I just think it's more skillset. Like
- 8:19if shallow love was able to piece them up in
- 8:22the Olympics, it's honestly a rather basic offensive
- 8:26repertoire. Like I'm not saying, I'm not saying
- 8:32that the size is an issue. It's more the leaky
- 8:34defense for it. I see. Okay. And, like, fighting
- 8:39against Cans won't help him. Like, he needs to
- 8:44take a step up to, like, not even, not, like,
- 8:48Caballero level, because Caballero's proved himself.
- 8:50But, like, you know, the Ajagbas, the Frank Sanchez,
- 8:53like, your top 20 guys. Yeah. They're not a real
- 8:57risk to you if your skill set really is all that.
- 9:01But, A, they build your profile. They help your
- 9:04ranking. they give you some looks that you need
- 9:07when you actually step up. Sure. Let's keep it
- 9:14rolling. Austin Williams gets a stoppage in nine
- 9:16over Etinosa Oliha. Fucking cool. Congratulations,
- 9:23Ammo. I will say for that fight, that fight specifically,
- 9:27he was showing some leaky defense as well, Ammo.
- 9:30Was he, really? I would say so, because, I mean...
- 9:34The guy he was fighting against, he came out
- 9:35on how many days notice? It was short, really
- 9:39short turnaround. Yeah, really short turnaround.
- 9:42And he was kind of putting the work on ammo.
- 9:44And he kept leaving the body open to the point
- 9:47where I think if... I think that it's kind of
- 9:51exposed him. Obviously, he's been knocked out
- 9:53before, but I think it also exposed that his
- 9:55body is a little weak. You know? At least that's
- 10:00from what I saw. I don't know about you guys.
- 10:05That's pretty apt. Yeah, you encapsulated my
- 10:08thoughts. I don't know. Maybe I was trying to
- 10:14give Ammo the benefit of the doubt and not think
- 10:17he was being as leaky and it was more like an
- 10:20open up your offense for me kind of thing. But
- 10:24I think you're probably right more than I am.
- 10:30I get you, I get you. I mean, I don't know. I
- 10:33also try to give him the benefit of the doubt
- 10:34because he is one of the only American middleweights.
- 10:38Yeah. Yeah, one of the only American middles
- 10:40right now that is kind of keeping a dead division
- 10:42afloat, if you could say so, you know? Yeah.
- 10:46But, I mean, he's next in line for Janabek, I
- 10:49believe, now, right? I believe so. For Janabek,
- 10:52that's crazy already. Yeah. After that loss to
- 10:55Hamid Shiraz, that's a little wild. I think Janabek
- 10:59kills him. The Shiraz loss is aging a little
- 11:05well, right? Well, like, how well when it's Berlanga?
- 11:10Well... How well when it's Berlanga? Ah, he called
- 11:18me on it. Voxen's already been killed by Hamza
- 11:23Shiraz, so... It's getting buried right now by
- 11:25Hamza Shiraz. Yeah, having the Robert Damas and
- 11:29murdering Berlanga. That sure does it. It's a
- 11:37good look for the casuals, but it's not a good
- 11:38look for us. God, I was so upset I couldn't do
- 11:44the podcast for when Berlanga finally died. I
- 11:49had to apologize to the whole audience for that.
- 11:53For my Berlanga take. For your Shiraz hate. My
- 11:58Shiraz hate? It's Shiraz hate. Don't confuse
- 12:02it for Berlanga support. That's exactly what
- 12:05I was saying. I knew, against all of my better
- 12:10judgment, I knew I shouldn't be supporting Berlanga
- 12:13because he's a fucking moron. But I'm not riding.
- 12:17You knew he was going to get hit. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:19But I'm not going to ride for a fucking Brit
- 12:22when there's a... Red -blooded American on the
- 12:25goddamn phone. Red -blooded American. Yeah. The
- 12:29King of New York. The fucking Kony. Let's move
- 12:34up. Diego Pacheco. King of Newark, maybe, man.
- 12:40That goes to Tony, Mr. Soprano. Diego Pacheco,
- 12:47UD over Trevor McCombie. I liked... the different
- 12:52wrinkles that pacheco was able to show here i
- 12:57still feel like he felt had too much trouble
- 13:00with becoming his style this is true i agree
- 13:06and i disagree at the same time how do you uh
- 13:09how do you disagree first only reason well i
- 13:12don't disagree with your take whereas i think
- 13:13it's also the fact that i think he was just scared
- 13:15to mix it up with Trevor McCombie? Because, I
- 13:18mean, Trevor McCombie looked like he got some
- 13:20power. He was jacked. Yeah, he was jacked. Yeah,
- 13:23McCombie's a tough SOB, but still, like, if you're
- 13:27at that, like, if Caleb Plant's putting the fucking
- 13:29work on him, like, you can't be scared to put
- 13:33the work on him. Oh, yeah. If you wish to move
- 13:37up. Checo's a lot bigger than, like, size -wise,
- 13:40like, he's taller, you know? Yeah, he is. He's
- 13:43sort of really young. He utilized his jab a lot
- 13:46more. Yeah. It makes sense. It's just, you know,
- 13:49it just wasn't the most exciting performance,
- 13:51unfortunately. You know, I know it's funny to
- 13:54come, you know, it's a bum, he fought a bum Trevor
- 13:57McCombie. I wish he got him out, but at the same
- 14:00time, I'm glad he utilized his jab, you know.
- 14:04Right. That's the silver lining. I like seeing
- 14:06the versatility. Because it does show, I mean,
- 14:11you can say no matter what, I mean, it does show
- 14:13a little bit of growth, whether you like it or
- 14:15not. My thinking here is that you're hearing
- 14:21this from a bunch of Diego Pacheco fans. So if
- 14:27you're not so sure that, you know, maybe we're
- 14:31glazing a little too hard or trying to give Pacheco
- 14:34the benefit of the doubt a little too hard, I
- 14:36recommend going to watch it. And trying to score
- 14:39it on behalf of Trevor McCombie. And it's not
- 14:43going to be there. But give it a shot. Because
- 14:47then you can see how versatile, how much of a
- 14:54more mature game Diego Pacheco brought to the
- 14:58table. Just my little challenge there. I would
- 15:05say you you're I think you're really gonna see
- 15:06his levels once he fights the competition that
- 15:09added that are at his level and the rankings
- 15:11in my opinion, I don't think you really Deserve
- 15:15the number three number three in the ring, right?
- 15:18And the ring rankings is number three on the
- 15:20on the ring. I'm not sure. Oh I know I know he's
- 15:25kind of high up there on the ring rankings I'm
- 15:28sure so I think that he still needs to Develop
- 15:31or not develop like it was the word prove himself
- 15:34Yeah, he still has a few more, like, good wins
- 15:37before he's... Before he's... He's one of the
- 15:43power players of the division, you know? Right.
- 15:46He's not right now. No, definitely not. We'll
- 15:50see what happens with him in the future. I hope
- 15:53that his next performance is a lot better so
- 15:55then the people that kind of got turned away
- 15:58from him this time will go back to him next time.
- 16:00Or at least, like, with a guy like Mbili. Oh.
- 16:03Baby, what a fight. What a fight. You can totally
- 16:11leapfrog the line and really stamp it out because
- 16:16as much as he's not quite at the pinnacle of
- 16:20168, it's pretty wide open. Minus the apex of
- 16:27Lord Ginger. The end of the Canelo sweepstakes
- 16:34is different. I'm talking about the realistic
- 16:36division. Right. It's like Welterweight when
- 16:40Mayweather was in town. It's like, yeah, there's
- 16:44an obvious, obvious top dog that's basically
- 16:49your meal ticket as long as you're there, but
- 16:52the division also moves along kind of independently
- 16:56of that person. You're absolutely right. Like
- 17:02other good fights, you can try and see if you
- 17:04stop Skull. Bruno Saras is still in the rankings
- 17:08and honestly not that great. Munguia is up there
- 17:14too, same thing. Copper Pits too. Saras. Melikuziev
- 17:22is still around. And a Golden Boy guy. Which
- 17:30guy is that? Beck the Bully. The guy who gave
- 17:34Rosado put out the pastor in like, was it 2020
- 17:37or 2021? I want to say 21. Yeah. Let's cap this
- 17:46card off with Bam Jesse Rodriguez stops Pumelela
- 17:52Kafu in the 10th. At the end of the 10th. This
- 17:58was a... Masterclass. It didn't help that Kafu
- 18:06just was not interested in engaging. But nonetheless,
- 18:10I feel this was a masterclass from Bam. No disrespect
- 18:15to Kafu either. Bam is just that bad. He is that
- 18:20good. He's that good at this division. It's just
- 18:23not... It's almost becoming an Inoue thing where
- 18:28like... This one guy is so much better than even
- 18:34the champion level decks. They can be good challengers,
- 18:39but if they're not great, they're going to look
- 18:42like shit. I was surprised he even got that stoppage.
- 18:47I was saying that he was going to go the distance.
- 18:49I thought that was going to go the distance.
- 18:50It was close to, but that one punch, man, that
- 18:54was beautiful. I know you guys are saying that
- 18:57Kapu didn't want to engage, which I would say
- 19:00is partially true. I still consider Kapu to be
- 19:03probably Bam's hardest competition thus far.
- 19:06I still agree with that statement. I'll agree
- 19:10with that. I think Kapu's game plan was really,
- 19:16really smart, was to take away Bam's lateral
- 19:19movement. Bam has some of the best lateral movement
- 19:23in the game right now. Yeah, if you force him
- 19:26to come at you, you make it. Yeah, yeah. It becomes
- 19:29like, yeah, if you hide in the corner, you can
- 19:32potentially get a shot that gets in and, you
- 19:34know, potentially flatlines him, you know? Gabe
- 19:36Rosado did that to back the bully. Yeah, I think
- 19:39that was the plan that Kapi was going for, forcing
- 19:43Bam into a siege. And honestly, that was pretty
- 19:47smart. I'm not going to lie. That's a good way
- 19:50to put it. The only thing is that it didn't work,
- 19:53unfortunately, for Kapu. But he still put up
- 19:56a good fight. He still put up a pretty good fight.
- 19:59Even he was still catching Bam. Bam was getting
- 20:03caught still. And this was still a quality matchup.
- 20:08For sure, yeah. Despite how it might have played
- 20:11out. It was still a really good fight. This was
- 20:14a really good fight. I feel like Jesse Rodriguez
- 20:16is the new Roman Gonzalez. where a lot of people
- 20:20are rating him somewhere between two to four
- 20:25on their pound -for -pound rankings. And they're
- 20:30like, who the fuck is this little guy? Why are
- 20:33you putting this little guy at the top of your
- 20:35rankings? That doesn't make sense to me. But
- 20:38I feel like he's actually getting a lot more
- 20:40recognition than Chocolatito. Because you know
- 20:46what? I think that a lot more people know about
- 20:48Bam. And I think that's also because of Inoue
- 20:53and Nakatani. I think just a lot more people
- 20:55are focusing on the lower divisions a lot more
- 20:58recently. I think that's kind of giving Bam a
- 21:01little bit of a bump. People are giving the smaller
- 21:03divisions a chance more often than they would
- 21:06because of guys like Inoue, like you mentioned.
- 21:11Yeah. It's because it's also... It's a little
- 21:14flashy recently, too, you know? Bam getting knockouts,
- 21:17Nakantani getting knockouts, Inoue getting knockouts.
- 21:20People like that shit. Bam became, like, an instant,
- 21:23basically an instant star among, like, the watchers
- 21:27of boxing, just, like, taking the quadras fight
- 21:30on extremely short notice and just blowing them
- 21:34out. Handing his ass. Like, that... That was
- 21:37the beginning and the end. That, like... it's
- 21:42tough to say that he wasn't like instantly endeared
- 21:45to a fan base for that. We put on a damn good
- 21:51performance. Yeah, absolutely. And it's good.
- 21:55We're going to see him. I was scared because
- 21:57I know he was, he already had that fight with
- 22:00Puma lined up. I honestly thought that was going
- 22:02to affect the fight. Oh, yeah. completely forgot
- 22:06about the the superstition part of it that i
- 22:11was like i was legit thinking about as well was
- 22:14like man you can't just be looking past just
- 22:17just because nobody else has heard of him doesn't
- 22:19mean he's not good the matchroom classic yeah
- 22:22the matchroom classic oh yeah uh but still um
- 22:28bam i i think i've seen him like two or three
- 22:32times live he's uh I really do reserve this word
- 22:41for a very select few of fighters. Bam is special.
- 22:47Oh, yeah. This young man is something serious.
- 22:51So if you're not watching, if nobody else, pay
- 22:54attention to him. I'll tell you this. I've said
- 22:59this on many occasions, too. I think Bam is probably
- 23:02one of the best. skill -wise, one of the best
- 23:06skill sets in the sport. I honestly think he's
- 23:08better than Inouye. And I think if they were
- 23:10at the same weight, I might be ballsy, I think
- 23:13he beats Inouye. And I think he beats Nakamani.
- 23:15Just off of skills alone. That is a pretty ballsy
- 23:19claim for the sickos who know who you're talking
- 23:24about. I just think that his use of his defense
- 23:30and his lateral movement is just... It's something
- 23:33akin to, I would say probably on the same level
- 23:36as B -Bowl, if not even better. You know? It's
- 23:41beautiful, honestly. It's art when you watch
- 23:43Bam. He brings a tear to my eye, honestly. He's
- 23:47the junior, the smaller Lomachenko. Yeah, yeah.
- 23:52He said it himself that he emulates Lomachenko.
- 23:56Yeah, he emulates Lomachenko, which is crazy.
- 24:00You know, Lomachenko. I know he didn't have the
- 24:03best career to some people. I would say, though,
- 24:07that he had some great skills, man. He got some
- 24:10great skills. Oh, yeah. Like, when he was at
- 24:13his right weight class operating, yeah. Yeah,
- 24:17just to take it out of what would have been then,
- 24:23like, considering resume and stuff, like, pound
- 24:26for pound, maybe not the best. But skill for
- 24:30skill. Lomachenko was unquestionably one of the
- 24:35better operators that we've seen in a long time.
- 24:40Phenomenal. And we're seeing that with Bam right
- 24:42now. I think we're seeing what Lomachenko could
- 24:45have been with Bam. I'm saying these ballsy takes
- 24:51right now. No, it's funny. I think it's arguably
- 24:57more dominant just because you're convinced.
- 25:01He's not having much trouble with guys on the
- 25:06level or better than Linares and stuff. And he's
- 25:11actually winning the fights as he moves up. You're
- 25:17right. Last words. Final thoughts for Bam, Kafu,
- 25:25at the Frisco. It was a great fight. Can't wait
- 25:30to see Bam in the future. I can't wait to see
- 25:31Bam fight Puma. Ooh, that's going to be sick.
- 25:36I really hope they get the last title to make
- 25:38it an undisputed fight. How would that even be
- 25:42possible? Whoever the IBF champ, it would have
- 25:47to be a quick win. But otherwise, yeah, I don't
- 25:51think it fits into the timeline. Yeah, you're
- 25:53right. What weight class is it again? Junior
- 25:56Bantamweight? 115. Yeah. Junior Bantamweight,
- 26:00who has the title? IBF? I'm not sure. I think
- 26:05it's vacant. If they were to... I hope for this
- 26:10fight they make this for the vacant title. I'm
- 26:14pretty sure the IBF has actually been taken recently,
- 26:17but I think it was... I think it was by some
- 26:20Mexican fighter. My Mexican fighter, actually.
- 26:23All right. I think it was... Correct me if I'm
- 26:28wrong. Actually. It's a bit unusual because Mexicans...
- 26:31Mexico usually doesn't participate in the IBF
- 26:36and their nonsense. Yeah. I will say, though,
- 26:43that honestly, I wouldn't want that Undisputed
- 26:46fight to be on a ring card. That would be kind
- 26:50of horrendous if BAM was the opening of the main.
- 26:55Oh, yeah, his name is Willevaldo Garcia. All
- 26:59right. That's cool. It's good that somebody picked
- 27:03it up. I would like if they delayed this one
- 27:10for Puma to fight this new IBF title holder.
- 27:17I'm a sucker for Undisputed. Yeah, me too. I'm
- 27:21one of those guys. Take that for what you will.
- 27:25Oh, I don't mind consolidation of belts at all.
- 27:28If nothing else, just getting them onto one person.
- 27:31If nothing else, having one guy who's the best
- 27:34at a weight class is A -OK. And Bam's proven
- 27:39himself as that so far. Yes, he has. Absolutely.
- 27:45Let's keep it moving to the MGM Grand Garden
- 27:48Arena. Mario Barrios gets a... Majority draw.
- 27:57Please hear the irony that I'm trying to put
- 28:00into this. Majority draw versus Manny Pacquiao.
- 28:04What the fuck is this timeline? Go to timeline.
- 28:09I think this is the best outcome. This was the
- 28:12best outcome. No, man. Boris deserves to lose
- 28:16it for not being able to beat the ghost of Manny
- 28:20Pacquiao. Sorry, the ghost of the ghost of the
- 28:25ghost at this point of Manny. I will say that
- 28:30I'll say that the fact that Manny was able to
- 28:34pull that off, I think he won. Yeah, Manny had
- 28:37a good fight. Yeah. No disrespect to Manny on
- 28:42the boxing end. Yeah. I was surprised by what
- 28:48Manny did that night. Honestly, I kind of was
- 28:50expecting a shutout. mario barrios i think that
- 28:55also he just i think he was just respecting manny
- 28:57pacquiao too much in the beginning and he left
- 29:00himself he left uh he left the the like the first
- 29:03six rounds which kind of escaped pacquiao you
- 29:06know well you heard him he said after the fight
- 29:09that fanny could still crack so yeah he said
- 29:12that old man can still hit whatever else yeah
- 29:14that was uh that was that opening the fact that
- 29:19the champion say that I do think some of the
- 29:23online reaction has been a bit hyperbolic. Being
- 29:26like, Barrios is one of the worst champions in
- 29:28a long time. Unfortunately, he isn't. Crawford
- 29:32fought a lot of those guys. Half of Crawford's
- 29:36resume are the worst champions of this last decade.
- 29:41I will say that... See, the thing is, you can't
- 29:44dog on Barrios. Again, Barrios does have heart.
- 29:48Barrios? Yeah, Barrios has heart. we saw that
- 29:52in that Abel Ramos fight. I mean, I feel like
- 29:54he can't fight. It's just, that was, he gave
- 29:57too much respect to Pacquiao. I was thinking
- 30:00that he carried him. Yeah, yeah, he carried him
- 30:03a little too much to the point where he got a
- 30:05majority draw. The thing is that, I mean, to
- 30:09me, I don't want to say it was fixed. I feel
- 30:12like it was a predetermined outcome. I feel like
- 30:16that too because you can't give it to Barrios
- 30:18because the mini Pacquiao I just don't think
- 30:20Barrios is... The outcome's weird, because Barrios
- 30:23is genuinely huge. You can totally see how, again,
- 30:27like I've said this before, the ringside judges
- 30:31don't have the view. The same vantage points
- 30:34that we do. Yeah. Yeah, so we can totally see
- 30:37Pacquiao's owning this guy, but the judges can't
- 30:44exactly see. Pacquiao's full work compared to,
- 30:48like, even if Barrios is just hitting a guard,
- 30:50Barrios is fucking massive. Mm -hmm. He's doing
- 30:54damage. He's a big boy. The thing is, I don't
- 30:59know. When we're talking about the fixed fight,
- 31:01I mean, I just feel like this is kind of manufactured
- 31:04by the PBC, dude. That decision it had. It's
- 31:07a convenient result for sure, but honestly, the
- 31:10better result for PBC is just... The better result
- 31:16for PBC is Pacquiao winning. That's the better
- 31:21result for PBC because that means more money
- 31:22for them because that can potentially be... You
- 31:24can technically probably... You can lure Floyd
- 31:27being like, hey... He's got a belt. He's got
- 31:31a belt. You have another potential super fight
- 31:35on your hands. With the way that the PBC is going
- 31:39right now with the lack of pay -per -view fights,
- 31:41that would be a godsend, you know? However...
- 31:44For me, Pacquiao and Barrio Barrios, this is
- 31:48the best outcome. Again, I do think that Pacquiao
- 31:50won, but Pacquiao's also not going to lie down.
- 31:53You know? If he won, he would have never lied
- 31:55down. He could have bought another. He could
- 31:58have bought Rowley, for all we know. Manny Rowley
- 32:01might be hilarious, actually. That's a hilarious
- 32:04fight. I love that it's serious, but it's a hilarious
- 32:07fight. Yeah. Because there's, like, it goes,
- 32:11like, Manny either... like, beats his ass because
- 32:16he's good at boxing and Roley isn't. Or Roley
- 32:20gets, like, a hilarious meme knockout. That would
- 32:25be hilarious to me. That would be really sad.
- 32:28Or no, man. Very meme -worthy, though, nonetheless.
- 32:32Yeah, like, it's hilarious in that it's a meme
- 32:34knockout, not hilarious in... I don't want to
- 32:37see Manny get knocked out. Not again, anyway.
- 32:41Not as if to say, like, he's that old. Like,
- 32:44dude, the Marquez 4 knockout was, like, 13 years
- 32:47ago. Yeah. That's enough. That's enough. That's
- 32:51how far gone we are on this fucking guy. That's
- 32:55why I'm like, okay, Barrios should probably be
- 32:58a little ashamed. But, like, he's the worst champion
- 33:02of the last decade is hyperbolic. Because if
- 33:05you just look at Terrence Crawford's box rec,
- 33:07there's, like, three guys worse right there.
- 33:09Well, the thing is... I can tell you it dongle's
- 33:12worse. I can tell you, Jeff Ford is worse. Krala.
- 33:17Ricky Burns. Krala is worse. And Ricky Burns
- 33:20are worse. Yeah, like I'm telling you. Like,
- 33:23there are worse guys. His entire undisputed run.
- 33:27Well, Sans Postal, I suppose. So, never mind.
- 33:30But I was going to say, his entire undisputed
- 33:32run, just worse than Barrios Pacquiao. Like,
- 33:38in Dongo, in Dongo, Jeff Horn back -to -back.
- 33:45is criminal for the resume. Are you saying that
- 33:50Terrence Crawford is the worst champion than
- 33:53Mario Barrios? Is that what you're saying? No,
- 33:54I'm saying that the guys he fought are worse
- 33:56champions than Mario Barrios. Who does Mario
- 33:59Barrios really beat against? Mario Barrios is
- 34:03at least better than Jeff Horn. Yeah, but I understand
- 34:07that, but I mean, who has he beat that's, you
- 34:09know, besides Ugas? Ugas, I would say, is probably
- 34:12the best name on his resume. That's still pretty
- 34:14good. Like, this guy, again, Ndongo, like, Jeff
- 34:17Horn has, like, a horrific Pacquiao robbery.
- 34:21And that's it. And Ndongo doesn't even have that.
- 34:30I would say Mario Barrios, I wouldn't say he's
- 34:33a horrible champion. I still think he can...
- 34:36No, like I'm saying, I'm defending Barrios being
- 34:38like, there are worse champions in the last 10
- 34:40years than him. I think the online reaction has
- 34:43been a bit vitriolic. I would say that he probably
- 34:47is the weakest champion, for sure, in the welterweight
- 34:50division right now. Oh, yeah. And... Well, Roley's
- 34:55technically one, isn't he? Yeah. I honestly would
- 35:00rate Roley over Barrios. Yeah. Oh, you're right.
- 35:05You're right. You might be right, actually. I
- 35:09don't know. I don't rate Barrios that highly.
- 35:12I mean, he seems like a good guy. No, like, I
- 35:15don't rate Barrios. I'm just, like, he's not,
- 35:18like, an affront to God, like I've seen people
- 35:21on Twitter saying. Yeah, no, I see what you're
- 35:25saying. It's just to say that he's a good guy.
- 35:26That's what I mean. Like, it's hyperbolic because,
- 35:28like, I feel like I hear this every other, this
- 35:33guy's the worst champion in history type deal.
- 35:36Every other Canelo opponent. Yeah. This guy's
- 35:40the worst motherfucker of all time. This is the
- 35:43worst guy at 168 of all time. And I'm like, I'd
- 35:47like you to see some of the guys Bernard Hopkins
- 35:49fought at 168. Some of these guys fucking suck.
- 35:53Or even like the guys that Roy Jones fought.
- 35:56Like, sorry, Roy. Yeah. You're one of the - The
- 35:59hell, the guys - Emile Griffiths, bro. Well,
- 36:04and then, you know, Lennox Lewis, right, guys?
- 36:06Right, guys? Lennox Lewis? Hell nah. Lennox Lewis
- 36:08is the best champion. I know. Hell nah. I had
- 36:13to throw a brick in there just to piss you guys
- 36:14off. No, I'm just... He's a Canadian. He's a
- 36:18Canadian. We claim him. We claim him in Canada.
- 36:21He fought for us in the Olympics. Oh, yeah. Canadian.
- 36:25He's Canadian. He's a Canadian gold medal. Whenever
- 36:29the Tyson Fury is an all -time heavyweight, unbeatable
- 36:35because of his size and shit, I thought to myself,
- 36:38Lennox Lewis beats him. And it's not even close.
- 36:42Easily. I'm not going to lie. Honestly, a funny
- 36:48thing I like to think about, who's the worst
- 36:50heavyweight champ who could beat Tyson Fury?
- 36:54And the answer is probably John Ruiz. Fury fucks
- 36:57around, doesn't take it seriously, and then John
- 36:59Ruiz hugs him to a UD. Like, John Ruiz... Buster
- 37:06Douglas? Okay, but Buster Douglas... Do we count,
- 37:12like... He could be one Tyson. He could be the
- 37:13other Tyson. He could be the other... Buster
- 37:16Douglas on that night is, like, the funniest
- 37:19mythical fighter of all time. Just because on
- 37:21eye test, you're like, wow. This guy might be
- 37:24the GOAT. And then you watch him every other
- 37:26fight of his career, and you're like, oh, my
- 37:28God, what am I watching? Who is this guy? Buster
- 37:32Douglas KO's Evander Holyfield, right? Buster
- 37:36Douglas shows up pregnant and gets knocked down
- 37:40in, like, three rounds. Yeah. All right. Let's
- 37:47keep it moving here. Barrios. Majority draw.
- 37:53Do you see how much he weighed against Holyfield?
- 37:56Gary Allen Russell KO'd over Hugo Castaneda.
- 38:06Pretty one -sided affair for Allen here. Good
- 38:12for Gary Russell. Good for Gary Russell. We'll
- 38:16see you in 2026, buddy. Yeah, we'll see you then.
- 38:21See you next year for your yearly paycheck. Good
- 38:25performance, bro. Excellent. 1 .30 is not exactly
- 38:37great. That version of Gary Russell might be
- 38:42something. Like, relatively speaking. He's like
- 38:47the Lara of this division. Oh, shit. That's a
- 38:51perfect way to put it. He's going to fight once
- 38:55a year, pick up a WBA title, and continue to
- 38:58fight once a year. Fortunately. They're going
- 39:01to get the PBC title. Mark Magsaya also. I didn't
- 39:06know. Mark Magsaya also fought. Yep, Mark Magsayo
- 39:11gets the UD over Jorge Mata. This is another
- 39:15130 fight. This guy's still around? Magsayo versus
- 39:21Alan Russell. Again? Pencil it. Oh, yeah. Russell
- 39:26hurt his fucking shoulder or something and lost
- 39:28to Magsayo on a majority decision. Yeah. I remember
- 39:32that. Yeah. Moving up, David Picasso, majority
- 39:41decision over Kyonosuke Kameda. Good job. I did
- 39:50not want that. That boy ain't ready for it anyway,
- 39:53I'll tell you that. No, fuck no, he's not. He
- 39:56needs some time. He needs some time, for sure.
- 39:59He needs a lot of things if he's going to get
- 40:02to that point. He needs some bricks in his gloves,
- 40:07steroids. All of it. Bring back Eddie Fudge from
- 40:12the dead. Get Victor Conte back on his old habits.
- 40:19Oh, yeah. David Picasso, majority decision over
- 40:25Kudosuke Kameda. Congratulations. Brandon Figueroa,
- 40:29UD over Joet Gonzalez. Joette did what Joette
- 40:35does. He showed up scrappy, refused to quit,
- 40:40and I don't know. I feel like he did better than
- 40:46some might think. He made a big roll at Coral.
- 40:56Yeah, he did. But when it's... When it's... When
- 41:05it's Stephen Fulton making you look like a fool
- 41:09versus... Which you could expect. That could
- 41:14be just reasonably dismissed. But... Joey Gonzalez?
- 41:20That's who's making you look like shit? Yeah,
- 41:24that's not a good sign. We need to start asking
- 41:25some serious questions here. Like... I don't
- 41:28think... This is whatever. Like, this isn't the
- 41:34type of fight that you should be looking like
- 41:35shit in. He's tailor -made for you to win. At
- 41:40least a good decision, you know? Right. This
- 41:44is kind of rocky. I'm not going to lie. Not in
- 41:47a good way. Shrug. Not the good rocky. For the
- 41:50people who can't see, this is me shrugging. Yeah.
- 41:55I'll tell you, we'll figure it out. He broke
- 41:57my heart a little bit. Heartbreaker broke my
- 41:59heart. Heartbreaker broke your heart. Moving
- 42:05up, Sebastian Fandora retires Tim Zhu. 7 out
- 42:12of 12. WBC super welterweight title on the line.
- 42:17I want to ask Josh first. Now, is this retirement
- 42:25from Tim Zhu? Is this live to fight another day,
- 42:31or is this bitch made? This is live to fight
- 42:36another day. Okay. Honestly, he needs new management.
- 42:46Yeah. The way you've seen, you can't do Fandora,
- 42:52Baccarum. mild soft touch and then fundora again
- 42:57back to back to back to back especially with
- 43:01how unsoft of a touch mertes olive was joy spencer
- 43:06notwithstanding yeah like this is a brutal schedule
- 43:11you know what he threw the kitchen sink at fundora
- 43:15it didn't work fundora is actually looking better
- 43:17as well credit to fundora Sue definitely needs
- 43:22to take a year or two so he doesn't to like just
- 43:26let his body recover from this dog shit schedule
- 43:32he was handed I think that it's more important
- 43:35let everything recover have a couple soft touches
- 43:38in Australia make some dollars get some confidence
- 43:42work on some shit and come back better to the
- 43:45world stage because With how his management is
- 43:49right now, they're going to feed him to another.
- 43:50They're going to end up feeding him to another
- 43:52guy, and another guy, and another guy, and it's
- 43:54going to be not great. We're going to tap him
- 43:57out, basically. Yeah. All right. So, were you
- 44:04on the Bunsdora train? Yeah. I talked about this
- 44:11a lot in the last pod, but I wanted both to win.
- 44:15I wanted... Pandora went more just because he's
- 44:17a local boy. And I'm glad he won. But this fight,
- 44:21I noticed he did use a jab a little more than
- 44:23usual. Oh, hell yeah. Which that did make me
- 44:26excited to see. Yeah, it's scary. Yeah, it was
- 44:31scary. Yeah, exactly. But the thing is that once
- 44:34Tim Zoo found his range, he kind of went back
- 44:36to his old ways, which is something that he needs
- 44:38to learn. But Pandora put up a good fight. He
- 44:43knocked out Tim Zoo in the first round. Not even
- 44:45Bakken really did that? No? I mean, I don't know.
- 44:49I just think that... I think Fundora's got a
- 44:53good future ahead of him. He keeps using that
- 44:54jab. No? Yeah. Fundora improving at using his
- 44:58range is terrifying. Honestly. That's fucking
- 45:01scary. That is a mythic... That was a mythical
- 45:04fighter. Fundora using his range... Fundora knows
- 45:07how to use his range. That's fucking terrifying.
- 45:12This is... Because you won't be able to reach
- 45:14his ass. how can you you try to break the distance
- 45:18on the jab you're still like six inches behind
- 45:21where you need to be good and the thing is that
- 45:24he like he already has the infighter skill set
- 45:27so even when you get in he's still gonna beat
- 45:31your ass oh yeah that's the thing with pandora
- 45:35too that's terrifying he's a he's not a bad uh
- 45:39an inside fighter as well. Oh, no. It's just
- 45:41that being that tall and fighting on the inside
- 45:44is not the smartest thing to do, of course. But,
- 45:46I mean, come on. I mean, he is showing through
- 45:49Buma. I'm surprised. I will take back the statement
- 45:53I said last time where I said that he didn't
- 45:56show much. He is showing a good amount. At this
- 45:59fight, at least. Oh, yeah. He's shown a lot of
- 46:01growth. Let's see what happens next fight. We
- 46:06have a new champion that we'll talk about next
- 46:08week. But I will say this, that I think that
- 46:11he, if he uses that jab properly, he can dominate
- 46:14the division. If he uses that jab properly. I
- 46:21feel like beating Tim Zhu is what, here's what's
- 46:25going to happen. It's not what I want, but Tim
- 46:29Zhu is now going to have access to the back catalog
- 46:31of the guys that Tim Zhu beat. Like a rematch
- 46:36with Brian Mendoza. Fighting Tony Harrison, like
- 46:41that type of opponent, and I'm not looking forward
- 46:46to it. Yeah, you're right. For North, it's kind
- 46:51of in a division where right now it's all the
- 46:54promotional companies are there, you know? Everybody
- 46:57wants a piece of the pie. Yeah, everybody is
- 46:59involved right now. Back then, the division was
- 47:03dominated by the PBC. This time around, it's
- 47:06dominated by everybody. Oh, yeah. Right now,
- 47:08the BBC. That was quite an era. BBC right now
- 47:12currently has a good foothold because they hold
- 47:15two of the titles. But once people become the,
- 47:17once they become the mandatories, they might
- 47:20need to give up those titles. They might have
- 47:22to give up those titles. If they don't play ball
- 47:25anyway. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Or send it to fucking
- 47:28Riyadh. That's why things can happen. The only
- 47:31way you're going to see anybody with Pandora
- 47:33and Bokrum. If you're going to see anybody else
- 47:36besides those two fight, it's going to be in
- 47:39Riyadh. There was some chatter about Bokrum not
- 47:45having... He can't find opponents. Even with
- 47:51the Riyadh guys behind him, he still can't find
- 47:56a solid opponent. I don't know. It's kind of
- 48:04odd. I mean, I know Virgil kind of wants to.
- 48:08I know Virgil was pretty vocal about facing Bokrum.
- 48:14He did want to fight him. Yeah, even Josh fucking
- 48:18Kelly. When's the last time you heard that name?
- 48:21But he was still like, yeah, put me in the ring.
- 48:25Send me the contract. I'll sign it tomorrow.
- 48:29And, yeah, I feel like they're going to do Erickson
- 48:31Lubin with Buckner. That's where they're going.
- 48:35It's crazy that Erickson Lubin is still around,
- 48:37you know. He's still young, but it's crazy that,
- 48:40you know. Yeah. He's back in paddle contention
- 48:43once again. In my opinion, he hasn't really earned
- 48:48that right, you know. No, he has not. Dude, I'm
- 48:53still mad at you. of Jesus Ramos. I'm still fucking
- 48:57mad about that. That is still upsetting. That
- 49:03still makes me mad. Jesus Ramos got bumped to
- 49:06the back of the line. Sure, he probably wasn't
- 49:09going to last at the front of the line, but still.
- 49:14He still won the fight. That doesn't put him
- 49:18at the front. That doesn't justify getting jogged
- 49:20by Erickson Lubin for no reason. Of all the people.
- 49:25but it was a move to make so that they could
- 49:28recycle Ericsson Lubin. They're all in for another
- 49:33Spencer. I mean, I don't know. I feel like if
- 49:38Ericsson Lubin gets in the mix, you know, and
- 49:42if he wins, you know, it'd be pretty interesting.
- 49:45I don't know. I hope Mark Barkham wins. Yeah,
- 49:48I don't believe so. Mark Barkham's going to fucking
- 49:51kill him, dude. I don't need those Probox guys,
- 49:56man. You never know. Probox fellas. Okay, so
- 50:01here we go. We've Quentin Tarantino'd this whole
- 50:04thing. We're back at Mario Barrios and Manny
- 50:09Pacquiao. Anything more to say? Anything more
- 50:14to add? Did we talk about people yet? I kind
- 50:20of skipped them because he had a super late replacement.
- 50:26If he lost, then we'd be having a different conversation.
- 50:31Yeah, you're right. Alright, anything more for
- 50:35Barrios, Pacquiao, before we move on? Pacquiao,
- 50:40please retire. Please don't come back. No, Pacquiao,
- 50:43don't retire. Go beat up Roley and then we can
- 50:45get another Mayweather fight. Oh, boy. You've
- 50:50done it. That'd be so funny. That'd just be funny.
- 50:54And you know what? You know what? Any type of,
- 50:58like, super event with a stacked undercard that
- 51:00isn't in Riaz is a win at this point. Yeah, I
- 51:05mean, that's gonna be... Mayweather Pacquiao
- 51:082 in Vegas for a welterweight title with a bunch
- 51:12of, like, with a stacked undercard would be fire.
- 51:16Yeah, I mean, that would be pretty good, but...
- 51:18A man can only dream. Roly, come on. Roly will
- 51:27sidemask shit. He will fight Pacquiao. That's
- 51:30not even a... I have no idea. That'd be a funny
- 51:33fuck buildup, too. It's more likely if Ryan wins,
- 51:38you're gonna get Ryan versus Pacquiao. Which...
- 51:41I heard this one before already. Yeah. That's
- 51:47not a new bedtime story. Yeah, bro. I've been
- 51:51hearing this one for a while. What do you want?
- 51:56Pack you out to fight Ryan? Yeah, I've heard
- 51:59this one for a while. Saudi Arabia has been trying
- 52:02to do this for a while. All right. We got to
- 52:08keep it rolling. Let's see. Based on time, I'm
- 52:12going to do this now. And then we'll talk about
- 52:15the Queensberry card at Wembley. Right after.
- 52:19So some housekeeping notes. Fucking wherever

- 58:17And here we are. Let's keep it going with the
- 58:20one bit of recap that I wanted to save a bit
- 58:24of time for. The Queensberry card at Wembley
- 58:27Arena in London. One really quickly to get off,
- 58:34just to get off the docket as quickly as we can.
- 58:38Lawrence Okoli, UD over Kevin Lorena. Send him
- 58:43back to McDonald's, dude. I'm fucking done with
- 58:45Lawrence Okoli. We've been done. We've been done.
- 58:51Back to McDonald's, please. Yeah, it's about
- 58:54time. When he was at Cruiserweight, it made sense.
- 59:01It made sense that he was there, but now he's
- 59:03at heavyweight. Like, bro, you're not going anywhere
- 59:06here. He's also a co -main, too, for a pay -per
- 59:09-view. I know. Nasty, so. Who does that, bro?
- 59:14Like, he's bounced around promotions because
- 59:16no one fucking wants him. Like. Somebody who
- 59:21does not like you or care about you is who put
- 59:24him as your co -main. Our co -main, let me restate.
- 59:29You got to pay for that shit, dog. I did. I sure
- 59:35did. I don't want to see Lawrence Coley ever
- 59:38again. I would prefer not to as well. I don't
- 59:42want to see him anywhere near Richard Torres
- 59:44Jr. I don't even want to see him taking my fucking
- 59:47order at McDonald's. He's got to stay at the
- 59:50back. Fry cook only? Yeah. I don't even want
- 59:54to see him taking my fucking order. Main event,
- 1:00:01Oleksandr Usyk KO5 over Daniel Dubois. This was
- 1:00:06a rematch. It was technically for Undisputed,
- 1:00:13so that makes Usyk two -time heavyweight Undisputed
- 1:00:16champion. I feel this was only a technicality,
- 1:00:21and Usyk's been Undisputed the whole time. Yep.
- 1:00:26But regardless, Usyk is him. He is fucking magic.
- 1:00:34He is fucking in -ring wizardry. Whatever other
- 1:00:40storytime description you want to use of him,
- 1:00:45Usyk is him. And Dubois is not. Uzik is the man.
- 1:00:55We are watching an all -timer. We are watching
- 1:01:00one of the Mount Rushmore of heavyweight boxers.
- 1:01:05That's what we're looking at right now. One of
- 1:01:09the greatest ever lived. Does anybody want to
- 1:01:14try to balance the glazing that I've been doing?
- 1:01:17I will. Go for it. I'll bounce it. Oh, of course
- 1:01:20you would. As I always do. As I always do. You
- 1:01:24guys can shit on Dubois all you want, but he
- 1:01:26lost to one of the greatest heavyweights of all
- 1:01:27time. That's all I got to say. Yeah. Come on.
- 1:01:30Yeah. I mean, Dubois, you know, he came out aggressive
- 1:01:34enough. He got knocked out, you know. And he
- 1:01:39still got up and he got knocked out. I mean,
- 1:01:41come on. You can't dog on him for having a...
- 1:01:48having lost to one of the greatest of all time.
- 1:01:50You're just making my argument for Usyk being
- 1:01:52an all -timer even better. Exactly. I mean, I
- 1:01:55think Usyk is also one of the greatest of all
- 1:01:57time as well. But to say that Dubois sucks is...
- 1:02:02Oh, no. I wasn't trying to. No. I was saying
- 1:02:05Dubois is not him after all the stuff and the
- 1:02:08build -up. Oh. Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, then, yeah.
- 1:02:11That's the case. Yeah, I agree with you guys.
- 1:02:12But I still think Dubois can... Once Usyk retires,
- 1:02:16he can take those titles over. He will continue
- 1:02:18being a dominant force at heavyweight. Make no
- 1:02:22mistake about it. For sure. He just is not Usyk.
- 1:02:28Usyk has nothing left to prove, guys. It's time
- 1:02:31to hang him up, dog. You've done everything.
- 1:02:35Everything. Farewell fight. Farewell fight. Yeah,
- 1:02:44he did. Oh, no, not Dillian White. You know what?
- 1:02:48Farewell fight. Do a rematch with Chizora just
- 1:02:51for fun. You guys can both retire on the same
- 1:02:53fight. Well, imagine Chizora chins him and knocks
- 1:02:57him out. And, oh, my God. Chizora's the undisputed
- 1:03:01heavyweight. He's a dead man. He's a dead man.
- 1:03:04Guys, has this guy been using the shrooms? Sponsor?
- 1:03:12Fathoming Chizora. That's the Undisputed Champion.
- 1:03:15If Chizora wins, then he can fight Deontay Wilder.
- 1:03:18And then Deontay Wilder knocks him out with him.
- 1:03:21Deontay Wilder. And then we have the American
- 1:03:25Heavyweight. American Undisputed Heavyweight.
- 1:03:27Come on. Tyson Fury shows up at 300 pounds to
- 1:03:33beat Wilder a fourth time. Well, the thing is
- 1:03:39Wilder knocks him out. In the fourth fight, just
- 1:03:41letting you know. Deontay Wilder knocks everybody
- 1:03:43out. This guy's the script. I was thinking Usyk
- 1:03:49could fight Jake Paul to get paid. As a farewell
- 1:03:56fight? Yeah, to get paid. I would like for Usyk
- 1:04:02to get paid. It's basically the plot of Rocky.
- 1:04:04Yeah. It basically is. It's basically the plot
- 1:04:10of Rocky. An older undefeated heavyweight champ
- 1:04:15basically doesn't make a wish fight against the
- 1:04:19shitter. The shitter who needs relevance. It's
- 1:04:25basically the plot of Rocky. If Jake Paul were...
- 1:04:30Or if Rocky were terrible. Well, what matter
- 1:04:36if Jake Paul actually wins the fight and then
- 1:04:38we still have an American Undisputed Heavyweight
- 1:04:39Champion? Come on. Oh, my God, bro. Undisputed
- 1:04:43Heavyweight Champion, Jake Paul. Wow. Yeah, that's
- 1:04:51quite a line. Speak it, believe it, receive it.
- 1:04:55That's all I got. You know what, man? That would
- 1:05:02just be further proof that Barrios is not the
- 1:05:05worst champ in the last 10 years. This further
- 1:05:09helps my Barrios defense. Well, I mean, yeah.
- 1:05:15I mean, Usyk's never fought an American Heavyweight
- 1:05:17before, right? I mean, come on. He fought Chaz
- 1:05:20Witherspoon. Michael Hunter? Michael Hunter was
- 1:05:24a cruiserweight, but I also agree there. They
- 1:05:27both moved up, so technically... Yeah. Come on,
- 1:05:32come on. He's never fought an American. He fought
- 1:05:33Chaz Witherspoon. I mean, hey. U6 beating Brit
- 1:05:40Bums. That's going to be the argument. All U6
- 1:05:44has done is beat British Bums. I would like for
- 1:05:46Lin. He's never done anything with his career.
- 1:05:47I would like to say specifically to Lin. It's
- 1:05:50just nothing but Brit Bums. These guys are fucking
- 1:05:54useless. That's the perfect rage bait. That would
- 1:05:59be for a two -hour podcast if it was Ragebait.
- 1:06:01That's the Ragebait. How is AJ the least useless
- 1:06:04of his opponents, but the worst in terms of their
- 1:06:07standings right now? How is AJ the most competent?
- 1:06:13AJ was the most competent Usyk opponent, but
- 1:06:16the worst overall guy. Three out of four. That's
- 1:06:22really it. Three out of four. He never fought
- 1:06:30Deontay Wilder. Or Tyson Fury. That era is just
- 1:06:35frauds. Just a bunch of frauds. And then he lost
- 1:06:39when they're not frauds. I mean, honestly, I
- 1:06:46think that if Wilder and AJ fought when they
- 1:06:50did, none of this shit would have happened. Usuk
- 1:06:53would not even... No. We would have had an undisputed
- 1:06:57heavyweight champion. God, the timeline where
- 1:07:00Jarrell Miller does not get exposed for, like,
- 1:07:03eating the entire pharmacy. I mean, that's...
- 1:07:09I mean, either way, that whole thing, that whole
- 1:07:12three -fight deal with DeAsian would be cooked.
- 1:07:15Because, I mean, AJ did get defeated by Rick
- 1:07:19and Andy Ruiz, you know, so... Oh, my God. That's
- 1:07:23what I mean. If Jarrell Miller didn't fucking,
- 1:07:25like, eat the pharmacy, they wouldn't have fought
- 1:07:28Ruiz, and we would have still... There would
- 1:07:30have been... The timeline would have been all
- 1:07:32right. Mm -hmm. Yeah. Fortunately, we don't live
- 1:07:37in a good... Or it would have been even funnier
- 1:07:39because it would have been so many... Or it would
- 1:07:41have been even funnier if Jarrell Miller beat
- 1:07:42AJ there. Yeah. Then we get an all -American
- 1:07:49undisputed heavyweight match between Terrell
- 1:07:52Miller and Deontay Wilder. Fuck. Oh, God. That
- 1:08:01would be just the best timeline for me. That
- 1:08:04would be fantastic. Saudi Arabia never enters
- 1:08:10boxing because they're so repulsed at the fact
- 1:08:13that these two guys are undisputed. Contenders.
- 1:08:20We're done with this. I'm going to go buy a fucking
- 1:08:22golf course or something. Fuck you guys. We'll
- 1:08:26go buy the NBA. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, we
- 1:08:32can count Deontay Wilder as much as we want,
- 1:08:34but he's the only one that fought Tyson Fury
- 1:08:36out of the three. Those are the only two that
- 1:08:38fought each other. So, you know, fuck Anthony
- 1:08:41Joshua. Fuck Eddie here for that, actually. um
- 1:08:48let's move into our previews and it's extremely
- 1:08:53light uh let's go oh this isn't even that light
- 1:08:58you think this is more i'm looking at next week's
- 1:09:02oh yeah okay so it's not that bad um but there's
- 1:09:07something yeah so wednesday july 30th by the
- 1:09:11time you hear this this uh these fights already
- 1:09:15may have happened But because we don't have a
- 1:09:19whole lot else to talk about. Let's see here.
- 1:09:26From the bottom up. Taken at the Yokohama Buntai
- 1:09:31in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Yuki Taniguchi
- 1:09:36versus Yukihiro Kitamura. Oh, that's fun. Tensho
- 1:09:43Isobe. Versus Joe Umezawa. Eric Rosa versus Kyosuke
- 1:09:52Takami. That's pretty much it for the prelims.
- 1:09:58I'm sure there's more like if you were in the
- 1:10:00building, but we don't have access to that. Yeah.
- 1:10:07Okay. In the co -main Kenshiro Teragi. he is
- 1:10:12the wbc flyweight champion he will be fighting
- 1:10:15ricardo sandoval so that's fun i'm expecting
- 1:10:21this is another this is going to be a pretty
- 1:10:25easy hard fought but he relatively relatively
- 1:10:30easy win and antonio vargas The WBA 118 champion
- 1:10:40versus Daigo Higa, the second -rated contender.
- 1:10:47Tsutsumi, for whatever reason, they decided to
- 1:10:50strip him instead of giving him... Like, he's
- 1:10:55medically... He's out for medical reasons. So
- 1:10:59they... I don't know, like, why they didn't give
- 1:11:01him the champion in recess or whatever, but here
- 1:11:04we are fighting for his... His title. Against
- 1:11:09the dude that he just had a draw with. Daigo
- 1:11:11Higa. This is kind of weird. But. Yeah. That.
- 1:11:22Utter silence. This is why you go listen to Boxing
- 1:11:26Before Dark. Because this is where we talk about
- 1:11:29a lot of the shit that happens before you wake
- 1:11:31up. Moving on. Saturday, August 2nd. Golden Boy
- 1:11:41at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Interesting
- 1:11:47place to put this on, but whatever. I'm here
- 1:11:50for it. I like when non -traditional cities get
- 1:11:56a big boxing event. Do any of these prelims?
- 1:12:06Are they familiar to either of you? No. Not at
- 1:12:10all. All right, cool. So, Yair Gallardo Lozano
- 1:12:14versus Quinton Rankin at light heavyweight. Okay,
- 1:12:21Joshua Edwards versus Kamen Audi at heavyweight.
- 1:12:26Tristan Calcruth versus Kareem Hackett at cruiserweight.
- 1:12:32And here we go. Regis Progray versus Jojo Diaz
- 1:12:37at 140. Peto Diaz is still around. Yeah. Oh,
- 1:12:43my God. On the Discord pick league, I pick Progray
- 1:12:48by stoppage. Better. I do not rate Jojo Diaz.
- 1:12:53In, like, today's Jojo Diaz, I do not rate him
- 1:12:57at all. Yeah, like... Why are we still talking
- 1:13:04about this, man? He's washed. He's a pedophile.
- 1:13:08Progray is only one of those things. I like how
- 1:13:12washed came before pedophile. One of these things
- 1:13:15is worse. Well, because the pedophilia doesn't
- 1:13:19factor into the fighting. Yeah, just on a personal
- 1:13:24basis. It's an important thing to mention with
- 1:13:29JoJo, but it doesn't factor into the fight itself.
- 1:13:33Both washed, but Pro Grey. I think Pro Grey is
- 1:13:37less washed and bigger and stronger. Just everything's
- 1:13:43lining up for Pro Grey. He does not touch children
- 1:13:46or try to groom children. He's not on Snapchat
- 1:13:52texting 16 -year -olds. He crashes go -karts.
- 1:13:57That's it. He has crawfish boils. Sounds like
- 1:14:01a pretty chill guy. That sounds pretty fucking
- 1:14:03excellent. I've seen some Crawfish Boy old TikToks.
- 1:14:06God damn, I want to go to one so badly. That
- 1:14:10thing on Twitter was pretty funny when he was
- 1:14:12just like, guys, how do I get a gold go -kart
- 1:14:14out of a ditch? That was a pretty fun day. That
- 1:14:18was a pretty fun day. That is some Regis -ass
- 1:14:21shit to say. That was some fun shit. Yeah. But...
- 1:14:30Maybe not as fun. Oscar Duarte versus Kenneth
- 1:14:34Sims Jr. 140 pounds in the main event. I have
- 1:14:41heard of Kenny Sims. I've seen him fight a few
- 1:14:44times. I really feel like Duarte has the experience
- 1:14:48here, and it's going to be a pretty brutal affair,
- 1:14:54I would say, in the mid -lates. Like five. Oh,
- 1:14:58yeah. Or six, eight, seven. That area. Kenny's
- 1:15:04still kind of young. But at the same time, I
- 1:15:06don't know. I just got a feeling he might have
- 1:15:10the upset. You think he can pull it off? Maybe,
- 1:15:14yeah. Because I do know that Duarte, he's kind
- 1:15:16of one -dimensional. Yeah, the stylistic matchup
- 1:15:21does favor Sims. Mm -hmm. So that's why I think
- 1:15:26if you can, if there's someone that you can pull
- 1:15:28off the upset against, it would be probably Duarte.
- 1:15:32Yeah, this is actually a good lineup for Kenny.
- 1:15:36I actually chose him by decision. In my pick
- 1:15:43week. I picked Duarte, I think, by stoppage.
- 1:15:47But I don't know. I think the experience is going
- 1:15:52to carry him through here. We'll see. Yeah, we'll
- 1:15:55see for sure. Once you point it out, like, oh
- 1:15:58shit, that's right. Kenny Sims does have the...
- 1:16:01He has the style perks to beat a guy like Duarte.
- 1:16:09I'm the only one that chose Duarte. I need to
- 1:16:13get back in the picks lead. Yeah, they've been
- 1:16:17tagging a little bit. Yeah, I did it like twice.
- 1:16:21I'm going to get involved. I stopped doing it
- 1:16:23once I stopped managing it. I was first place
- 1:16:30in the last one that Greg ran where half the
- 1:16:33fights got cancelled. The fucking Greg baboon
- 1:16:39curse. Anything more for the golden boy card?
- 1:16:49Stop doing fights in better places, please. Better
- 1:16:54venues. I like that they're doing this in Chicago.
- 1:16:58The University of Illinois. You guys can pick
- 1:17:02a rec hall or something. And an actual arena.
- 1:17:06Yeah. You guys can do better than a university.
- 1:17:11Get better champions. Get better champions. Get
- 1:17:16better champions. Golden Boy is the only promotional
- 1:17:18company that doesn't have any male champions.
- 1:17:21No active champions. Active male champions, yeah.
- 1:17:24Yeah, they have... What do you mean? Most valuable
- 1:17:27promotions doesn't either. Oh, no, I take that
- 1:17:32back. They have Zurdo. Oh, good call. That's
- 1:17:35right. Yeah. But that's only one. That's only
- 1:17:38one, so... That's one. And it's a cruiserweight,
- 1:17:41so... That's all you got now. That's Jake Paul's
- 1:17:46white flag. He owns those streets. Yeah. All
- 1:17:51right. Let me do this. You've been listening
