- 0:38Speaker 1: sister and golf every and woman who has been dancing
- 0:40Speaker 1: since the age of four years old. She's a graduate
- 0:43Speaker 1: from Jackson State University HBCU and earned a Bachelor of
- 0:48Speaker 1: Science degree in criminal justice. She is the founder of

- 0:58Speaker 1: to continue our discussion of her book Standing in the
- 1:01Speaker 1: Shade and her new emojis and the Brigant Live Tour
- 1:05Speaker 1: that's something I'm excited about. Please welcome back to money
- 1:08Speaker 1: making Conversations. Miss Diana Williams. Good morning Diana. What city
- 1:16Speaker 1: are you in, my friends, what city are you in? Well,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm in Jackson, Mississippi. Today the Dancing Dolls of Jackson
- 1:23Speaker 1: start their audition process, an intake for new members. So
- 1:27Speaker 1: I am here with them all week long. Now, what
- 1:31Speaker 1: is the explained that process to me? Right here? Because
- 1:34Speaker 1: of the fact that last time we're gonna show people,
- 1:36Speaker 1: should you really get in detail about how how my
- 1:40Speaker 1: kids can get involved? And I want to make sure
- 1:42Speaker 1: that I don't miss that. So you you open the door,
- 1:45Speaker 1: explain the process because you're not only in Jackson, but
- 1:48Speaker 1: you're also in Birmingham, and you also have studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Correct, correct, Okay,
- 1:54Speaker 1: but right now you're doing intake for Jackson, Mississippi studio.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Talk to us about that. Well, for the dancings, all
- 2:01Speaker 1: the dancing dogs are separate of the Dollhouse Dance Factory.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The dancing dogs just practiced inside of the Dollhouse Dance Factory.
- 2:07Speaker 1: There's a huge misconception there about how the company runs
- 2:11Speaker 1: our studio is etcetera. Etcetera. So when members of the
- 2:14Speaker 1: audition wasn't for the Dancing Dolls competition dance team, I
- 2:18Speaker 1: always suggest that they start off taking class somewhere that
- 2:21Speaker 1: teaches major rette in hip hop because those types of
- 2:24Speaker 1: backgrounds are what you will need in order to be
- 2:26Speaker 1: successful on the team. Although it is not required, it
- 2:30Speaker 1: is definitely suggested because while she takes those class that
- 2:32Speaker 1: makes it so much easier for you to make the team.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Getting training before actually trying to get the job, it's
- 2:38Speaker 1: what you want to try to do. So that's exactly
- 2:41Speaker 1: what I express to everyone. But even though some people
- 2:43Speaker 1: don't don't take the training process prior to and they
- 2:46Speaker 1: just show up for the audition protests, we do the
- 2:49Speaker 1: best that we can to train them prior to the
- 2:51Speaker 1: actual audition itself. The dance will come in and all
- 2:54Speaker 1: ages five to eight teams. They're all different sides from
- 2:57Speaker 1: all different backgrounds. You know, we don't excreminat We want everybody.
- 3:01Speaker 1: You want, anybody that wants to dance, has an idea
- 3:04Speaker 1: of what it is the takes to do, what it
- 3:05Speaker 1: is that we do. We want them to come. We
- 3:07Speaker 1: want to have them there, so having them around is
- 3:10Speaker 1: definitely fun. Some kids make it and some kids don't,
- 3:13Speaker 1: but it's always a fun process, especially seeing the kids
- 3:16Speaker 1: grow throughout the course of the week and putting their
- 3:18Speaker 1: best foot forward. Now, what makes you unique? Because there's
- 3:22Speaker 1: a lot of people out there, you know, I'm always
- 3:24Speaker 1: hunting for the next though, I'm always looking hunting for
- 3:27Speaker 1: the Miss Diana Williams so I can create me a
- 3:29Speaker 1: hit reality show. What makes you special, Miss Williams? Well,
- 3:33Speaker 1: everything about me makes me special, very different creating. It's
- 3:37Speaker 1: not stop stop stop stop you too much stop stop
- 3:42Speaker 1: right there, right there everywhere, but no, seriously, like, what
- 3:46Speaker 1: about me? I'm just different from most people that you
- 3:49Speaker 1: would that. You know, people give up a lot of
- 3:51Speaker 1: time to do what it is that they do, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: I am definitely one of those people. But what makes
- 3:56Speaker 1: me different, I think, is the fact that I give selflessness, selfless, selfless, selflessly,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I should say, without even looking back, I have done
- 4:05Speaker 1: a lot of things for kids that probably wouldn't even
- 4:08Speaker 1: though they're'm even doing the things that I'm doing for
- 4:10Speaker 1: them in the background. You know, some parents don't even
- 4:13Speaker 1: know that I cover fees for them even when they
- 4:16Speaker 1: don't have the money to pay it. And then I
- 4:18Speaker 1: know that something's going on with them, I take care
- 4:20Speaker 1: of it. I'm always reaching out to other kids to
- 4:22Speaker 1: try to see what they're doing wrong as far as
- 4:25Speaker 1: school because ofcerned to try to assist them on that level.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Like I'm not just a typical coach that sits in
- 4:30Speaker 1: coaching students team in the studio. I'm all in their business.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I want to know what they're doing, where they're going,
- 4:35Speaker 1: who they're talking to. I want to know about your grades.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Don't want to go at you doing your chores at
- 4:39Speaker 1: home like you doing them on your third And I
- 4:41Speaker 1: want to know it all because I can figure out
- 4:43Speaker 1: how to make you the best topicable with you possible.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And that's what the ultimate goal. Let me ask you this, so,
- 4:48Speaker 1: so do you do do? Do you have? Like scholarships?
- 4:51Speaker 1: There are individual purchase scholarships that could be donated to
- 4:55Speaker 1: a student who can't afford to ten Your studios or
- 4:59Speaker 1: hot does they work? Are creating a problem for you
- 5:02Speaker 1: because they gotta have the talent to attend Rashaan, They
- 5:05Speaker 1: gotta make the cut. So just being able. The dancings
- 5:08Speaker 1: As is a community based organization. We're not a finance
- 5:12Speaker 1: We're not a federally fund organization. It's funded finance from
- 5:16Speaker 1: my pockets mostly. You know, the parents do pay money
- 5:19Speaker 1: for uniforms, but all the parents don't always pay like
- 5:22Speaker 1: their those too who are do what they need to do,
- 5:25Speaker 1: so then the financial responsibility falls on me. And it's
- 5:27Speaker 1: been like that for the last eighteen years, you know.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So Unfortunately, we can't offer scholarships because the money for
- 5:34Speaker 1: the scholarship becomes to me and I have my own
- 5:36Speaker 1: child that I have to focus on and worry about.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But if there are people out there that would love
- 5:41Speaker 1: to donate money to the kids, I would love to
- 5:44Speaker 1: have that money to be placed on their account so
- 5:46Speaker 1: that if they are running behind on fees, or if
- 5:48Speaker 1: there's parents that need extra money for travel or what
- 5:52Speaker 1: have you. Absolutely we would take donations all day long. Okay, cool,
- 5:55Speaker 1: you're gonna get a donation from Rushan McDonald. We appreciate
- 5:59Speaker 1: that we have several kids, especially in the Atlanta area.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I know for a fact, I have a parent, a
- 6:04Speaker 1: parent up two. I will not name her name. Um
- 6:07Speaker 1: I covered her fees for her kids for the full
- 6:10Speaker 1: year just so they were able to come. But then
- 6:12Speaker 1: her car broke down and she wasn't able to even
- 6:15Speaker 1: get them there. So it was like one thing happening
- 6:18Speaker 1: after after another. Is I know she would definitely be
- 6:20Speaker 1: appreciated appreciate them in his assistance, Well, I'm serious because
- 6:24Speaker 1: of the fact that, uh, I do it for Wendy
- 6:26Speaker 1: were Carl Robinson, she has a school for an acting
- 6:29Speaker 1: school and uh this California, My wife and I would
- 6:33Speaker 1: purchased ten scholarships annually. It's we've been doing it for
- 6:38Speaker 1: like ten years. And uh, I don't consider you my
- 6:42Speaker 1: little sister now, miss Williams. Okay, appreciate Um. I gotta
- 6:45Speaker 1: bring you on board into the phone. We gotta introduce
- 6:48Speaker 1: you to my wife so she can she can say, Okay,
- 6:51Speaker 1: we're good because because you're doing Because that's the point
- 6:55Speaker 1: that I wanted to bring back on the show, because
- 6:57Speaker 1: of the fact that you know, the show edits you
- 7:02Speaker 1: know energy, they edit, they don't they don't allow the
- 7:05Speaker 1: story to be told, a big story to be told.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And when he was on the show, I was like, really,
- 7:10Speaker 1: at all of the shark conversation, I went there so
- 7:12Speaker 1: much more we should be talking about. And I told
- 7:14Speaker 1: you that when you was in the studio, go, I
- 7:16Speaker 1: gotta bring you back because you come back on my
- 7:17Speaker 1: show because of the fact that a lot of people,
- 7:21Speaker 1: especially like I'm from Chicago from a standpoint, I worked
- 7:24Speaker 1: there like five years and dance clubs and dancing is
- 7:27Speaker 1: really big in Chicago, and I know how impactful that
- 7:31Speaker 1: is in the Chicago community. And the fact that you
- 7:33Speaker 1: now have studios in Jackson, Mississippi, and Birmingham, Alabama, in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 7:39Speaker 1: What is the what is the tim Is there a
- 7:42Speaker 1: limit to what you're gonna do or talk about the
- 7:44Speaker 1: reason why you're expanding like that like this there one
- 7:49Speaker 1: of the biggest reasons why the expansion the chances theories
- 7:51Speaker 1: because being able to have an outreach program that reaches
- 7:56Speaker 1: out or literally outward house side of the state, and
- 8:00Speaker 1: it's something that's important to make sure that you can
- 8:02Speaker 1: reach as many people in boxing out a platform that
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm home with the TV show has given me the
- 8:07Speaker 1: opportunity to leave so many people and to be around
- 8:11Speaker 1: so many people, and the fact that my studio was
- 8:14Speaker 1: just in one stationary way. Everybody couldn't get understood that.
- 8:19Speaker 1: But I have the opportunity and the means to be
- 8:21Speaker 1: able to give to them. So it just made sense
- 8:24Speaker 1: for me to say, you know what, Diana, why not
- 8:26Speaker 1: just open up the studio or location in their areas
- 8:30Speaker 1: and go to them. Now, everybody can't always go where
- 8:33Speaker 1: you need them to go. Everybody can't always be where
- 8:35Speaker 1: you need them to be. Everybody can always do what
- 8:37Speaker 1: you actually can do. So it's important that celebrities that
- 8:41Speaker 1: they have an opportunity to use a platform that I
- 8:43Speaker 1: gave them in the first place, that you use it.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And that's exact what I've been trying to do. Let's
- 8:47Speaker 1: go back, you know, uh, your book. You know, we
- 8:51Speaker 1: talked about it last time. Your relationship with your mom
- 8:54Speaker 1: was was it's not the perfect relationship? What did you
- 8:58Speaker 1: learn about the relations you with your mom? And you've
- 9:01Speaker 1: been because I feel like you're a giant mom now,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you're a mom doer these kids you because you're so
- 9:06Speaker 1: all the things that you talk about a mom will
- 9:10Speaker 1: do for their child. And so I feel that you
- 9:13Speaker 1: know now your mom and Jacksie, that's where you started
- 9:15Speaker 1: now your mom in Birmingham, not your mom in Atlanta.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And so that's that's a lot of emotional bandwidth that
- 9:22Speaker 1: you're putting out there. How do you how do you
- 9:25Speaker 1: how do you how do you hold yourself together? I'm normal, like,
- 9:30Speaker 1: can you want to else? So I cry? You know,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I try to not stress about it, even though that's
- 9:36Speaker 1: hard because you're dealing with so many personalities. When you're
- 9:38Speaker 1: dealing with girls. That would always says women are emotional preachers,
- 9:42Speaker 1: so when you're dealing with girls, there's different attitudes and
- 9:45Speaker 1: all that there. I try my best to literally place
- 9:49Speaker 1: myself in their shoes and understand every situation. But I've
- 9:53Speaker 1: learned to not take it home. I used to take
- 9:56Speaker 1: home so much of the stress on these kids, but
- 9:58Speaker 1: I did fleet over time. I wouldn't eat that I
- 10:01Speaker 1: was so much stress and over when them. I even
- 10:03Speaker 1: lost weight because of some of the stress dealing with
- 10:05Speaker 1: a lot of what it is that I do. But
- 10:07Speaker 1: because I know that this is the purpose that God
- 10:10Speaker 1: gave me, that I know that having this weight on you,
- 10:14Speaker 1: it's the reason why you're able to be so successful. Go,
- 10:17Speaker 1: I is not gonna ever give you more than you
- 10:18Speaker 1: can be at people saying all the time, but I
- 10:20Speaker 1: am a walking, talking testament because that I have watched
- 10:24Speaker 1: kids that have been for affusive halls, broken homes, parents
- 10:28Speaker 1: walk out on their abandoned kids, kids that our foster kids.
- 10:31Speaker 1: We have had a lot of kids come through our programs,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and I literally take it all in. I'd have I'd
- 10:36Speaker 1: have foster present so I understand what it's like. I
- 10:39Speaker 1: understand what it's like to love your mom and your
- 10:41Speaker 1: mom not always love you back, but then in the end,
- 10:44Speaker 1: like my mom and I now we have a great relationship. Now.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I think that, you know, with everything that I've gone
- 10:50Speaker 1: and having to deal with so much of what I
- 10:52Speaker 1: dealt with, I think that it created more of a
- 10:55Speaker 1: fund with us. Because she didn't know. Now she she
- 10:58Speaker 1: got my books, I didn't want her to eat it.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. I did not want my long
- 11:02Speaker 1: to read my book. Of a lot of stuff that
- 11:04Speaker 1: it's in the book, I never told her. I kept
- 11:06Speaker 1: it to myself. As most kids, you know, we we
- 11:09Speaker 1: bottled things up as adults and even as children, we
- 11:12Speaker 1: bottled things up and we keep it to ourselves. And
- 11:14Speaker 1: I did that for a long time. That book set
- 11:16Speaker 1: me free. It set me free. I was able to
- 11:19Speaker 1: talk about things that I hadn't ever spoke out loud
- 11:22Speaker 1: about before, and it was a necessary evil. I needed
- 11:25Speaker 1: to do that. But my mom and no, now we're good.
- 11:28Speaker 1: You know we're in a good place. Now we crap
- 11:30Speaker 1: dogs it se texts you go and emopreversy. Speaking of emoji,
- 11:35Speaker 1: she downloaded might emoji app and she keeps sitting the
- 11:39Speaker 1: same one. I'm like, why do you keep seeing that one?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Sulf because it looks like me and I could do that.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm like, kids, right, tell us about this emoji app?
- 11:48Speaker 1: I did this kiss thought well, Uh, my publicist eric
- 11:52Speaker 1: I brought to me um an idea to do emojis
- 11:55Speaker 1: because my personality is so vibrant, and why wouldn't people
- 11:59Speaker 1: want to have text messing in conversation, utilizing gifts that
- 12:04Speaker 1: look like being talk like me and act like you know,
- 12:07Speaker 1: we have women are fights to create yourself. We have
- 12:09Speaker 1: some fights to them because we have these conversations where
- 12:12Speaker 1: we snap our things and roll our next so we
- 12:14Speaker 1: go through the whole, the whole motion, and it just
- 12:17Speaker 1: makes sense to have an emoji that the fimilize all
- 12:20Speaker 1: those things. You can have a whole conversation with my
- 12:23Speaker 1: emojis without even texting one word. That's just how good
- 12:26Speaker 1: they are. That's fun. That sounds it sounds like you.
- 12:35Speaker 1: It's only available on iPhone right now. Android Applet supposed
- 12:39Speaker 1: to come out later in the pH because I'm Android now.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I'm an Android guy now, and you know that the
- 12:44Speaker 1: dominant UH, Android is the dominant brand for the African
- 12:47Speaker 1: American community. Is gonna let you know what. You gotta
- 12:49Speaker 1: get over to the Android side. That's where most of
- 12:51Speaker 1: the African American users are Android users. I wann't closed,
- 12:56Speaker 1: and I just want to thank you for coming back
- 12:57Speaker 1: on my show. I want to thank you for being
- 12:59Speaker 1: the UH. Justify me for bringing you back because You're
- 13:03Speaker 1: a special young lady and I'm a fan of yours.

- 13:08Speaker 1: get that check to you to support some of your
- 13:10Speaker 1: these underprivileged kids in the line of Georgia. Know that
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm a fan. I know you're gonna be back on
- 13:15Speaker 1: the shore and late May, so you could promote the
- 13:17Speaker 1: Bring It Live tour. Keep winning, Okay, alright, I appreciate

- 15:01Speaker 1: and he's uh also has one of the coolest social
- 15:05Speaker 1: media names. Who's that dude? Please? Welcome to money making
- 15:11Speaker 1: Conversation Anthony Harrit's Hey, DNA, Anthony, where are you coming with?
- 15:17Speaker 1: Who's that dude? I love that name. Man, when you
- 15:20Speaker 1: get that name that's from the Ama mata um. You know,
- 15:23Speaker 1: I just decided to put a little spin on it
- 15:26Speaker 1: um and step instead of spelling it w h oh,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I decided to go, you know with how how Mama
- 15:32Speaker 1: mat of spells? Who's um? And kind of correlate that
- 15:35Speaker 1: to my my university as well. So that's part of branding.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Just your your branding guy, your marketing guy, what's your
- 15:42Speaker 1: what's your degree background? I'm just trying to do I
- 15:45Speaker 1: try to be a little bit catchy, you know. Um,
- 15:47Speaker 1: you know, coming into college, you know, as a freshman,
- 15:50Speaker 1: it was all about you know, coming and improving myself.
- 15:53Speaker 1: And the one thing I wanted to you know, kind
- 15:56Speaker 1: of shed right away was, um, you know, I kind
- 15:58Speaker 1: of wanted people to to grab people's attention and kind
- 16:01Speaker 1: of make them ask them stuff selves, who's that dude? So? Um,
- 16:05Speaker 1: some people think it's kind of more one of those
- 16:07Speaker 1: things where I'm being a little bit confident and and
- 16:10Speaker 1: it's like a rhetorical question, but um, it was intended
- 16:13Speaker 1: to be like a genuine question of making a statement
- 16:16Speaker 1: and having people don't wonder who's that dude? Right right?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Right right? So when you say, are you bothered by that?
- 16:21Speaker 1: When people say that the word cocky or overconfident or
- 16:26Speaker 1: you know, I see your photos, you do you you
- 16:29Speaker 1: have a model style about you, which I like, you know,
- 16:32Speaker 1: so does that bother you? Know? You pose and you
- 16:34Speaker 1: know you're you're making that hit you know what I'm
- 16:36Speaker 1: saying on the streets? Are you what's your future in
- 16:38Speaker 1: that area? No, No, it doesn't, It doesn't bother me
- 16:42Speaker 1: too much. Um, Like you understand a lot of people
- 16:44Speaker 1: are going to have a different perspective or different understanding
- 16:47Speaker 1: of different things. So, um, you know, when they when
- 16:50Speaker 1: they tend to ask me the question or um, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I tend to kind of let them know or if
- 16:55Speaker 1: they're trying to suggest, um that you know, maybe I
- 16:58Speaker 1: might be meaning in that way. I just kind of
- 17:01Speaker 1: explaining it. And And it's not it's not attended to do
- 17:03Speaker 1: that way at all. I don't get assentified at all. Awesome, Well,
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's great, we're gonna talk about your business. But it's
- 17:09Speaker 1: that time of the year. We just finished the NFL Combine,
- 17:12Speaker 1: which I think is blowing up, you know, and see
- 17:15Speaker 1: all the celebrities that are tweeting various athletes who are
- 17:17Speaker 1: running forties and lifting weights and doing shuttle drills. Were
- 17:21Speaker 1: you able to participate in the NFL Combine when you
- 17:24Speaker 1: came out, No, I got invited. Um at the time,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I was recovering from a shoulder in handsover I hain't
- 17:31Speaker 1: got in December. Um, so me, I had the privilege
- 17:34Speaker 1: of attending the combine, but unfortunately I wasn't able to
- 17:38Speaker 1: actually participate in any of the drills. Just I was
- 17:41Speaker 1: able to you know, visually experience that as well as
- 17:44Speaker 1: just the interaction with the coaches in the play. You
- 17:46Speaker 1: got to walk around your underwear, get the measurements and
- 17:49Speaker 1: talk to the coaches. That's what you got to do that.
- 17:56Speaker 1: It's so so that's part of the process. Now. I
- 17:59Speaker 1: reasonally I wanted to talk about your your your NFL
- 18:02Speaker 1: experience a little bit because you were undrafted free agent,
- 18:05Speaker 1: which you mean you come into camp with no guarantees
- 18:07Speaker 1: at least if you get drafted. As a general feeling,
- 18:09Speaker 1: they want to keep their draft picks. When you come
- 18:12Speaker 1: in as an undrafted free agent, what was running through you?
- 18:15Speaker 1: First of all, when the draft draft you went through
- 18:17Speaker 1: the process of sitting through all these rounds of draft.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Did you make a big deal that you have a
- 18:21Speaker 1: draft party or you just wasn't you say hey, I
- 18:24Speaker 1: don't know why I'm GONNAT drafted and just lay low
- 18:26Speaker 1: and find out what happens. How did you approach your
- 18:28Speaker 1: draft date? Um? For me, it was actually had a
- 18:33Speaker 1: little family gathering, um, you know. For for me, it
- 18:36Speaker 1: was it was kind of one of those things where
- 18:38Speaker 1: I was expected to be taken, um, you know, in
- 18:42Speaker 1: the second to third round. UM. But for me, a
- 18:45Speaker 1: guy coming out UM never really experienced it. UM. I've
- 18:49Speaker 1: always kind of you know, took the you know, um,
- 18:53Speaker 1: the little low subtle route. UM. So I had a
- 18:56Speaker 1: few people didn't really make too much of a bill
- 18:59Speaker 1: big deal about it. You know. Growing up as a leader,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I had to watch the NFL draft and UM, you know,
- 19:04Speaker 1: you hear about the different mark drafts and and where
- 19:07Speaker 1: different players supposed to go, and it never quite works
- 19:09Speaker 1: out like that. So UM, for me, I had kind
- 19:12Speaker 1: of prepared myself for you know, the unexpected UM, which
- 19:16Speaker 1: was anything could happened. So we had a few people
- 19:18Speaker 1: over um ended up going undrafted. UM. But before the
- 19:23Speaker 1: draft was over, UM, you know, in the last surroundings,
- 19:26Speaker 1: so UM, I had a number of teams call up
- 19:29Speaker 1: UM and and at the time they either said that
- 19:32Speaker 1: they they were out of pick for the for the
- 19:34Speaker 1: draft that year, or either um, you know, they were
- 19:38Speaker 1: going to go in another direction with another position with
- 19:40Speaker 1: the last pick. UM, but they you know, expressed that
- 19:44Speaker 1: they had interest of UM trying to sign me to
- 19:47Speaker 1: the roster UM for gold in the camp. So UM.
- 19:50Speaker 1: At that point I was, I was, I felt pretty
- 19:52Speaker 1: good about getting the opportunity, and for me, it was
- 19:56Speaker 1: just about if I can get an opportunity that, um,
- 19:59Speaker 1: I'll be able to show improved that you know, I
- 20:01Speaker 1: belong in the NFL. So that pretty much happened for
- 20:04Speaker 1: me going to the camp. My mindset was pretty much
- 20:07Speaker 1: that you know, whatever team I went to, that they
- 20:09Speaker 1: were getting steal um whether they knew it or not,
- 20:13Speaker 1: um especial matter. But yeah, yeah I didn't really it
- 20:16Speaker 1: didn't really matter whether they knew it um or not.
- 20:19Speaker 1: If they that they would was getting to steal um
- 20:22Speaker 1: with the undrafted player. But um, that was kind of
- 20:25Speaker 1: my attitude going in was I'm gonna go in nobody's
- 20:29Speaker 1: going to really expect anything of me. Um, But once
- 20:33Speaker 1: I get healthy, UM, people are gonna, you know, they're
- 20:36Speaker 1: they're gonna have to take notice, um, just on my
- 20:39Speaker 1: level of play and just going out there and showing
- 20:41Speaker 1: what I can do on the steal and it has
- 20:43Speaker 1: been the case. And they also say just not to
- 20:44Speaker 1: my viewers and my listeners and said when you get
- 20:47Speaker 1: late in the draft like that, it's actually better to
- 20:50Speaker 1: be undrafted because you can actually negotiate a better deal
- 20:53Speaker 1: for yourself and you also can control the team you
- 20:56Speaker 1: want to go to. Is that not true? Yeah? Yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 1: you know, UM, part of the business side that you
- 21:02Speaker 1: know that they particularly say, you know, the first the
- 21:05Speaker 1: first three rounds are are guys who they really really want,
- 21:09Speaker 1: UM and and really expect to, you know, make that
- 21:11Speaker 1: final roster. UM. But you know, the NFL, it's it's
- 21:16Speaker 1: a very competitive work environment, very competitive businesses. UM. The
- 21:20Speaker 1: people who come in and get drafted and UM. You know,
- 21:24Speaker 1: once the season start, there no longer with the team UM,
- 21:27Speaker 1: just because of the number of spots and just how
- 21:29Speaker 1: competitive it is. UM. But you know, the later rounds UM,
- 21:33Speaker 1: those guys they go in and get opportunity. But at
- 21:36Speaker 1: the same time, you know, being able to go in
- 21:39Speaker 1: as a free agent UM, it does kind of the
- 21:41Speaker 1: one advantages kind of controlling what situation you go into.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But you know, at that point, you know, if you're
- 21:47Speaker 1: you're follow in the free agency UM category, then you're
- 21:50Speaker 1: pretty much got to compete wherever you go. Anyway, Yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 1: the last two years, I'm a big football fan. So
- 21:56Speaker 1: you know, when you talk about a talent like you,
- 21:59Speaker 1: it's all about transit. What do you do when you're
- 22:01Speaker 1: not hitting somebody? What you do when you're not playing football?
- 22:04Speaker 1: And I'm assuming that what you're doing opening this Whold
- 22:07Speaker 1: Therapy facility and rich Virginia, Richmond, Virginia is part of
- 22:11Speaker 1: that transition and small business that you're trying to create
- 22:14Speaker 1: for yourself. Correct. Yeah, Yeah, it's about you know, creating
- 22:18Speaker 1: that opportunity to creating that platform, um, you know, for
- 22:21Speaker 1: you to be successful. And that's that's successful on the field, UM,
- 22:25Speaker 1: you have to you know, translate that to off the
- 22:27Speaker 1: field as well. So um, in season and offseason, that
- 22:31Speaker 1: stuff translates to from diet down to recovery as well.
- 22:36Speaker 1: You know, going into tough workouts and being able to
- 22:39Speaker 1: you know, finish up your day and get your body
- 22:41Speaker 1: ready to go the next day. That's just as important.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So for me, um, you know, I decided to you know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I used to cry out therapy business, um, and then
- 22:51Speaker 1: once you know, using that to help improve my recovery,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I decided to join it. Um as far as business
- 22:57Speaker 1: wise and expanding there. Okay, let's let's break that down
- 22:59Speaker 1: a little. That just generally, uh, it's crowd therapy sometimes
- 23:03Speaker 1: knowing this cold therapy, it's a local general use of
- 23:06Speaker 1: low temperatures in medical therapy. It's used to treat various
- 23:09Speaker 1: type of tissue issues. Now I'm a regular guy, you know,
- 23:15Speaker 1: would I would I engage myself in this type of
- 23:17Speaker 1: therapy just a regular guy out there playing hoops to
- 23:20Speaker 1: a guy who runs like several miles a week. I
- 23:23Speaker 1: know you're not just you're not just attacking. Are you
- 23:25Speaker 1: attacking just the everyday athlete? Or they are they want
- 23:28Speaker 1: to be athletes or the high school athlete, or they
- 23:30Speaker 1: are the or the semipro or pro athlete. What are
- 23:33Speaker 1: you what are you focusing on with just a facility? UM,
- 23:37Speaker 1: It's it's just it's just you know, UM, wealth or
- 23:41Speaker 1: wealth fitness. UM. You know, approach. It's not just for
- 23:45Speaker 1: the you know, the professional athlete or the earthly day
- 23:48Speaker 1: athlete that's going in. UM. This is something in the
- 23:51Speaker 1: service that you know, can um be utilized by a
- 23:56Speaker 1: large scale crowd. UM. It doesn't necessarily have to be
- 24:00Speaker 1: recovery for fitness. It can be recovery from injury. UM.
- 24:03Speaker 1: And you know, you don't have to be in sports
- 24:05Speaker 1: and you know, to be involved in the accident and
- 24:09Speaker 1: and have some sort of injury. So UM. I mean,
- 24:12Speaker 1: we have people who come in from getting in car accidents,
- 24:15Speaker 1: they're having back pain. UM. They can hop in the
- 24:17Speaker 1: machine and you know it pretty much. It pretty much
- 24:22Speaker 1: helps their body recover as far as dropping their body
- 24:25Speaker 1: down to a low temperature UM causing the body to
- 24:28Speaker 1: have it heat itself up and that helps with blood
- 24:31Speaker 1: circulation and you know, flushing out that old damage tissue
- 24:35Speaker 1: and the old damaged blood in that area and getting
- 24:38Speaker 1: you know, fresh blood in there so it can properly
- 24:40Speaker 1: heal and heal faster. We congratulations, Uh, this is Anthony Harris,
- 24:44Speaker 1: very talented starting safety for the Minnesota Vikings graduate or
- 24:48Speaker 1: the University of Virginia UH in sociology during and a
- 24:52Speaker 1: half years. Uh, you keep winning, young man. Um. Please
- 24:55Speaker 1: tell your team to send some banners and posters so
- 24:57Speaker 1: I can promote your business on my social media and
- 25:00Speaker 1: look forward to having you back on my show more Money.

- 28:40Speaker 1: for having a well great First of all, uh A,
- 28:43Speaker 1: Lisa is my first time Lisa meeting you are welcome
- 28:46Speaker 1: to the family. All right now, Bobby, last time I
- 28:53Speaker 1: met you, man who was in the circle of sisters. Um.
- 28:57Speaker 1: I walked by the table with my staff and I
- 28:58Speaker 1: saw this Bobby Q just Bobby gets hot song. This
- 29:01Speaker 1: is that Bobby Brown Hot Songs? And I went and
- 29:05Speaker 1: I say it's Bobby Brown. Here's body around here? And
- 29:08Speaker 1: he was over there. They had you on a raised
- 29:10Speaker 1: platform and just a huge crowd of people, and you
- 29:15Speaker 1: was doing I guess an exhibit, a demo, a demo,
- 29:19Speaker 1: and uh a demonstration and uh I took the hots
- 29:23Speaker 1: home because I'm telling you something. I'm a Southern bar
- 29:25Speaker 1: from Houston, Texas. I used it on my chicklings. I'm
- 29:28Speaker 1: just gonna go Southern on you guys. I put it
- 29:29Speaker 1: on my chidlands and white rice. Okay, uh fried chicken,
- 29:33Speaker 1: had to put it on my fried chicken and so
- 29:36Speaker 1: so put it on my eggs. And I'm gonna just
- 29:39Speaker 1: tell you I'm a fan. I'm a fan. I'm a fan.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I'm a fan. Okay, thank you so much. Um yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 1: it's been going really good. Um. We have the barbecue sauce,
- 29:50Speaker 1: we have the fried chicken mix, we have um, I
- 29:54Speaker 1: sees things the brown Um, I mean the Boston Blend
- 29:58Speaker 1: and the everyday season. We're just we're really just trying
- 30:04Speaker 1: to build the company into into a major, major you know. Um, Okay,
- 30:11Speaker 1: let's talk about that. Let's talk about that. Because I
- 30:15Speaker 1: went to the website and and I can cook. You know,
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'm not a Bobby Brown cook, but I can cook Okay,
- 30:22Speaker 1: I don't have my season and I don't have my
- 30:24Speaker 1: sous Bobby bait, but I can cook. At least I
- 30:28Speaker 1: don't have that either. You know what I'm saying. My
- 30:30Speaker 1: wife thinks she my wife thinks she can cook better
- 30:32Speaker 1: than me. But that's another story. Now. The rest in
- 30:36Speaker 1: our house actually Bobby, Bobby definitely hands down can cook. Um,
- 30:41Speaker 1: you know, I got some a few traits up up
- 30:45Speaker 1: your sleep now. I'll tell you that this brand, this
- 30:48Speaker 1: brand was developed off of Bobby's homemade sauces and and
- 30:53Speaker 1: his you know seasonings how he combines them, and his
- 30:55Speaker 1: perfectly perfectly fried chicken. And so, you know, just with
- 31:01Speaker 1: his creation and my business mind, we thought, you know,
- 31:04Speaker 1: we gotta bottle this up and sell it. We know.
- 31:06Speaker 1: What I loved about was the Bobby brown bag. Yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 1: brown bagging it is what we call it. And it's
- 31:13Speaker 1: just like a new school shaking bag. It's like, yeah,
- 31:17Speaker 1: you know right. So the crazy thing is watching Bobby
- 31:20Speaker 1: fly some chicken is pretty masterful. He uh just puts
- 31:24Speaker 1: the right amount of mixture with the seasoning. And I'm
- 31:27Speaker 1: telling you he he says, one of his uh, one
- 31:31Speaker 1: of his tricks is you know, making sure that oil
- 31:33Speaker 1: is exactly the right temperature. But when that chicken it
- 31:36Speaker 1: comes out rashwan, it is so light, crispy, the right crunch,
- 31:42Speaker 1: right seasoning, and I mean never greasy. So I thought,
- 31:46Speaker 1: you know what, for someone like me who does not
- 31:49Speaker 1: really know how to fry many things, I just you know,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I don't do a lot of flying um. I wanted
- 31:54Speaker 1: to learn and I remembered back in the day the
- 31:57Speaker 1: shaking bake and how was that created? So that's how
- 32:01Speaker 1: the brown bag, and it came about how to show
- 32:03Speaker 1: someone like myself and many others how to fry um
- 32:07Speaker 1: your foods really light and easy. And it's it all
- 32:10Speaker 1: comes together. It's the bag. You can drop your your
- 32:13Speaker 1: meat or your choice of fish or whatever, and you
- 32:16Speaker 1: put the seasonings in there that's already comes in the packet.
- 32:19Speaker 1: You shake it up and drop it. It's as easy
- 32:21Speaker 1: as that. I'm gonna tell you something. When I saw
- 32:23Speaker 1: that on the website, I go, this is brilliant, you know,
- 32:28Speaker 1: because I'm telling you because if you go to the
- 32:30Speaker 1: website and you see the recipes heads on that, I
- 32:32Speaker 1: kept going, Okay, what else, because that's what because that's
- 32:35Speaker 1: what really hurts people in cooking, you know, and we're
- 32:39Speaker 1: the society of now where people are you know, they're
- 32:42Speaker 1: there there. They do it yourself first. And so so
- 32:45Speaker 1: when I saw the chicken recipe, just throw the chicken
- 32:48Speaker 1: in there and I can say when the chicken floats
- 32:50Speaker 1: to the top, it's done. Most people don't even know that, right,
- 32:56Speaker 1: I've read the website. Now your part was doing this research.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Go ahead. I didn't know that when to the top
- 33:03Speaker 1: it's done. So Bobby, you do that, you have to
- 33:07Speaker 1: let it float. When it floats, and you know it's
- 33:09Speaker 1: cooked all the way through that. Um, it's not gonna
- 33:15Speaker 1: be greasy because the grease is gonna be out of
- 33:19Speaker 1: the chicken by time do you put it in your mouth? Wow? Wow, Wow.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Here's here's a quote on the website that I love.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say this. Uh, it's on the on
- 33:28Speaker 1: the website. We are committed to serving you seasoning and
- 33:30Speaker 1: spices of great quality and good to your body. All
- 33:34Speaker 1: of our products are gluten free and non gmo, made

- 33:44Speaker 1: Brown Foods is a great charge for our vegetarian and
- 33:48Speaker 1: vegan customers were continuously coming up with new products, so
- 33:51Speaker 1: please stay tuned to see what else comes out this year. Yeah,
- 33:56Speaker 1: we're super excited about that. We have some UM and
- 34:00Speaker 1: we're just finalizing bottling some of our marinades and dressings
- 34:05Speaker 1: which were super excited about. We have a three and
- 34:07Speaker 1: one sauce that you can use as either a marinade,
- 34:10Speaker 1: a dressing or a dipping sauce. And you know, we're
- 34:13Speaker 1: just just geared up and we can't wait until you know,
- 34:17Speaker 1: we are just stocked all the shelves with everything that
- 34:20Speaker 1: you know, our family likes to eat. We we really
- 34:23Speaker 1: are conscious about putting things in our body that are
- 34:27Speaker 1: healthy obviously for our children and ourselves and UM and
- 34:31Speaker 1: still have a lot of great flavor. You know, that's
- 34:34Speaker 1: the thing that we're trying to blend together. So well,
- 34:37Speaker 1: that's important too because the fact that this is a
- 34:40Speaker 1: brand and the reason I really like and I always
- 34:42Speaker 1: talk about the power couple because it allows us to
- 34:45Speaker 1: understand that there is you win, you win both ways.
- 34:48Speaker 1: You know, you gotta have the white point of view
- 34:51Speaker 1: and the and the husband point of view, the male
- 34:53Speaker 1: point of view or the female point of view. And
- 34:55Speaker 1: it has to be a partnership because you can't win
- 34:57Speaker 1: with someone side feeling that this is should be done
- 35:00Speaker 1: and other side, I said, this is I wanted to
- 35:02Speaker 1: be done. You have to win with a joint thought.
- 35:05Speaker 1: That's why when I talked about the brown and baggett,
- 35:08Speaker 1: you know, both of them were excited about it. Both
- 35:11Speaker 1: of them. Yeah, that's that's the way to go. That's
- 35:14Speaker 1: yeah about it. Our kids love it too. You got to,
- 35:18Speaker 1: you got to, you know, because of the fact that
- 35:20Speaker 1: when when that was the recipe the ship the shrimp,
- 35:25Speaker 1: oh shrimp all about? Tell me about that, Bobby, Come on,
- 35:29Speaker 1: tell me about that is something that I came up
- 35:32Speaker 1: with that, um, because I don't like I don't like
- 35:35Speaker 1: my kids eating too much fried foods. So I came
- 35:39Speaker 1: up with shrimp Allo, Bobby, which is which is basically,
- 35:42Speaker 1: uh was like stage shrimp. It's like, um, it's like
- 35:50Speaker 1: a shrimp scamp. It's like a shrimp scamp, but with
- 35:53Speaker 1: peppers and different ingredients. We get the vegetables in there
- 35:57Speaker 1: with his peppers, colorful peppers. And of course kids love rice.
- 36:01Speaker 1: But yeah, they're all they're always very picky about what
- 36:04Speaker 1: their soft looks like, so he makes an amazing soft
- 36:07Speaker 1: Let's let's switch gears to go to the entertainment here,
- 36:09Speaker 1: Bobby Brown, why do people love you? Man? Why they
- 36:12Speaker 1: love you man? I'm just Bobby, like your cousin. Because
- 36:19Speaker 1: see the thing about it is that we've had an
- 36:21Speaker 1: interesting life. You know, when I was managing Steve, we've
- 36:23Speaker 1: always crossed whether it's an interview or being on stage
- 36:26Speaker 1: or acting. I remember we did the movie together with
- 36:28Speaker 1: Beyonce that he was acting and that, and I always say,
- 36:31Speaker 1: this guy can really really act. Your your comedic actor,
- 36:34Speaker 1: but also a serious actor. Any aspirations to really take that,
- 36:40Speaker 1: you know, go down that lane and acting there other
- 36:42Speaker 1: than yes, yes, um, but right there, for right now, Um,
- 36:47Speaker 1: I'm just really concentrated on this new album that I'm
- 36:51Speaker 1: gonna put um and this tour that I'm doing with
- 36:54Speaker 1: our b r M, which is for the Love of It. Um,
- 36:58Speaker 1: we're just really really just want to get back out
- 37:01Speaker 1: there when entertain the people. I mean, that's where we
- 37:05Speaker 1: started and that's where you know we're we're the love
- 37:10Speaker 1: with the love is you know. So for the Love
- 37:13Speaker 1: of It tour is coming to a city near you,
- 37:16Speaker 1: and um, we're just We're just happy to be together. Ronnie, Bobby,
- 37:21Speaker 1: Ricky and Mike Um. We just like I said, for
- 37:25Speaker 1: the love of it, love it. I mean, we're doing
- 37:28Speaker 1: the Hoodie Awards. I had. I had had to come
- 37:31Speaker 1: out and perform and open the show for us. And
- 37:33Speaker 1: we had this forward car, this brand new car in
- 37:36Speaker 1: front of the stage. You know I'm talking about. Bobby
- 37:43Speaker 1: Brown was on that car board for them. The executive
- 37:46Speaker 1: is he going, then let's speak quiet. Bobby Brown slid
- 37:49Speaker 1: on that car. Boy there, nobody I've been doing this
- 37:51Speaker 1: show fourteens. Nobody ever still on the call, slid on
- 37:55Speaker 1: the car, touched the car until Bobby Brown came along.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Said it was OUs of people, was always sold out.
- 38:01Speaker 1: There's sixteen thousand people at the Engine brand and knew it.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Just you came out there and Bobby Brown did his day.
- 38:06Speaker 1: He jumped on that car and ball everybody went. It
- 38:10Speaker 1: was like and he didn't even fall off everyone. I
- 38:14Speaker 1: didn't try laugh and I didn't do it. That's the
- 38:18Speaker 1: key right there. He didn't did it. But that's the
- 38:20Speaker 1: part about it, because you know, you are like uh,
- 38:23Speaker 1: you know, like you know, like you you're you're a
- 38:25Speaker 1: little Elvis. You know your James Brown, You're You're, and
- 38:29Speaker 1: You're you. That's a combination of that. It's really incredible
- 38:33Speaker 1: to maintain. You know. I appreciate that because those are
- 38:37Speaker 1: two of the entertainers that really influenced me in this business,
- 38:42Speaker 1: along with Rick James, along with Michael Jackson, along with
- 38:47Speaker 1: Stevie Wonder. You know, Um, I really tried and I
- 38:51Speaker 1: really studied everybody, you know, in order to in order
- 38:57Speaker 1: to become who I wanted to be, and I wanted
- 39:00Speaker 1: to be all of them, So I tried to put
- 39:04Speaker 1: all of them into what I do when I perform.
- 39:08Speaker 1: And that's important. Never ask you us up there, a Lisa,
- 39:11Speaker 1: you know, they Brown Ribbon Entertainment, the production company. What
- 39:15Speaker 1: what what's the goal of that production company? What? What what?
- 39:17Speaker 1: What's the vision of that production company? Well, um, you know,
- 39:22Speaker 1: my background comes from entertainment as well, not only music,
- 39:25Speaker 1: but TV and film, and of course Bobby's love of
- 39:29Speaker 1: all of them combined. We wanted to start our own
- 39:32Speaker 1: production company where we could start producing our own projects,
- 39:35Speaker 1: whether they were developed by us or brought to us
- 39:38Speaker 1: in script form already. And The Bobby Brown Story was
- 39:41Speaker 1: our first production that we put out. Um, which we're
- 39:44Speaker 1: very proud of. As you know, it's been nominated for
- 39:47Speaker 1: three in Double A CP Awards. We're looking forward to um.
- 39:51Speaker 1: But again it's a platform for us to develop options
- 39:55Speaker 1: stories that are written by us. You know that we
- 39:58Speaker 1: think that need apply form to be shown and as
- 40:01Speaker 1: a production company, you know you can get it done.
- 40:04Speaker 1: We work and we have deals with different networks on
- 40:07Speaker 1: the TV level and also on the film. We're very
- 40:10Speaker 1: proud that we've developed a relationship with other countries as well,
- 40:14Speaker 1: so internationally we like to distribute and license. So right
- 40:18Speaker 1: now we're just looking forward to uh to a few
- 40:21Speaker 1: new projects coming and checking out Brown Ribbon really taking
- 40:24Speaker 1: a powerful seat in the production world. Well, congratulations, because
- 40:29Speaker 1: first of all, you know, I googled you. You know,
- 40:30Speaker 1: I'm no stranger than what you mean. You know, I'm
- 40:34Speaker 1: over there looking at Chicken, but I'm over there looking
- 40:36Speaker 1: at you too. Okay, you know what google her every day? Yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 1: he didn't do the of of our conversation. First of all,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I feel like I'm talking to friends. I feel like
- 40:48Speaker 1: I'm talking to two people who are happy, and that's important,
- 40:53Speaker 1: thank you. And then so so when we when this
- 40:57Speaker 1: is the one question I want to get out the
- 40:59Speaker 1: Bobby Brown story. Bobby, I want you to respond, and
- 41:01Speaker 1: then at least as a producer, I want you to respond. Bobby.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Why was it important to tell that story? Um? I
- 41:09Speaker 1: think it was important because I don't want anybody else
- 41:13Speaker 1: to be able to tell what I lived. UM, and
- 41:20Speaker 1: I wanted I wanted the story to be told right.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I wanted the story to be the truth, um, and
- 41:26Speaker 1: not something that somebody makes up or something somebody rant
- 41:30Speaker 1: in a in a newspaper. So it came from my
- 41:33Speaker 1: heart too the screen basically, and um, we had a
- 41:39Speaker 1: great writer with us I'll do and a great executive
- 41:47Speaker 1: producer who is you know one of my good friends, um,
- 41:51Speaker 1: Jesse Collins, and UM, it was just it was just
- 41:55Speaker 1: important to get out there. Well, thank you both for
- 41:57Speaker 1: coming on my show. Send me that camp bad kids.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk to Cheft to nor Well so I
- 42:01Speaker 1: can give you some videos with the Brown and baggage,

- 43:24Speaker 1: McDonald back on the air, talking internationally, talking worldly, talking socially,
- 43:30Speaker 1: talking digitally, talking on the radio podcast Alexa. If you
- 43:35Speaker 1: have Alexa in your house, just enable money making conversations.
- 43:38Speaker 1: I'll start talking to your house and your bathrough when
- 43:42Speaker 1: you're kitchen, and your backyard everything. I just started uplifting people.
- 43:46Speaker 1: I started uplifting, uplifting people on the sidewalk. That's how
- 43:49Speaker 1: I do with money making conversation. I developed this show
- 43:52Speaker 1: so I can let people know that they can win.
- 43:54Speaker 1: A lot of people have a lot of obstacles. I
- 43:56Speaker 1: call them stop signs. They hold them up. That stop
- 43:59Speaker 1: side is on display. When they wake up in the morning,
- 44:01Speaker 1: looking at the mirror, they see no confidence. They'll see
- 44:04Speaker 1: any opportunities to be successful. All they do is complain.
- 44:08Speaker 1: They complain when they're getting the car, they complain when
- 44:10Speaker 1: they look at the clear kids. They complain with what
- 44:11Speaker 1: they eat, they complain with what they drive, they complain
- 44:14Speaker 1: about the traffic. With all those complaints, finally they arrive
- 44:17Speaker 1: at work. Do you really want to be working with
- 44:19Speaker 1: that person? No? I didn't. That's why I left and
- 44:24Speaker 1: decide of the bet on Rashan McDonald. I bet on
- 44:28Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald every time I wake up every morning, because
- 44:30Speaker 1: guess what, I'm not a complainer. I'm what they call
- 44:32Speaker 1: a door. I'm what they call a guy who um
- 44:36Speaker 1: is a visionary. I've heard that throw them away a
- 44:39Speaker 1: couple of times. I would take it because guess what
- 44:41Speaker 1: it is applied to a bigger check. I'm taking all
- 44:44Speaker 1: special type visionary, influencer, UH, producer, award winner, uh brand master,
- 44:52Speaker 1: brand king. I'm taking all those titles if they tied
- 44:56Speaker 1: the checks. Understand that I turned anything down. What what
- 45:00Speaker 1: isn't tied to big checks is worth? Like loser, winer, complainer,
- 45:05Speaker 1: you know, finger porner that's not tied to big checks.
- 45:09Speaker 1: That's never who Sean McDonald lives. My next guest is
- 45:12Speaker 1: truly a winner. She's a winner. Um first time I
- 45:17Speaker 1: saw it, read a book out of this weekend, sell
- 45:19Speaker 1: it from concept to reality. I really I'm excited about
- 45:23Speaker 1: this book all right because guess what, so many people
- 45:26Speaker 1: need this book. My next sense is living testimony to
- 45:29Speaker 1: faith and perseverance. She was born in Jamaica, Man and
- 45:33Speaker 1: raised in Canada. A She's the founder of Bravos Real
- 45:37Speaker 1: Housewives of Atlanta franchise. Who knew? I didn't know that.
- 45:41Speaker 1: That's why I got on the show, bringing from the
- 45:44Speaker 1: from the darkness to the light. Her goal is to
- 45:47Speaker 1: empower women to pursue their dreams in the new year
- 45:50Speaker 1: of twenty and eighteen. Please welcome to money Making Conversations,
- 45:53Speaker 1: Princess of Bantom Lofters. How are you doing? Good morning,
- 45:57Speaker 1: Good morning, Good Monday, more learning right, money making Mondays?
- 46:01Speaker 1: And I'm here, want to be here. Thank you for
- 46:03Speaker 1: having me. I'm first of all excited to have you
- 46:06Speaker 1: on the phone because of the fact that when my
- 46:08Speaker 1: talent that we have a meeting never Tuesday, and they
- 46:11Speaker 1: always say, would you like this? Guess I go? I go.
- 46:14Speaker 1: They said, she is the young lady who founded the
- 46:18Speaker 1: Real house Wives of Atlanta franchise in Atlanta. Tell me
- 46:22Speaker 1: about that, tell me about I read the bio. But
- 46:25Speaker 1: the people who public needs to hear your story. Yeah, well,
- 46:29Speaker 1: you know what, And it's funny that people people now, um,
- 46:32Speaker 1: within the last I guess probably a year or two,
- 46:34Speaker 1: have become a little more public. So prior to that,
- 46:37Speaker 1: I really kept a low profile and I really focused. Yeah,
- 46:41Speaker 1: you know this this day, this dream happened for me. Um.
- 46:45Speaker 1: It's kind of I feel like I say, television chose me.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I didn't necessarily chose it. And I had a passion
- 46:50Speaker 1: for doing something that was behind the camera and low
- 46:53Speaker 1: in the hole, that had this idea and just the
- 46:56Speaker 1: right place at the right time. I met a producer
- 46:59Speaker 1: in l A through a friend of mine to all
- 47:01Speaker 1: out there, sat down and started talking to him. I
- 47:04Speaker 1: bought a completely different concept or a different idea that
- 47:07Speaker 1: I had, and during that conversation he started to talk
- 47:10Speaker 1: to me about different things they were working on and
- 47:13Speaker 1: and I was familiar or got familiar with a franchise
- 47:15Speaker 1: called The Real Housewives of Orange County, which was you
- 47:18Speaker 1: know this is two thousands and six seven, UM, and
- 47:21Speaker 1: I kind of said, you know this Atlanta, this show
- 47:24Speaker 1: belongs in Atlanta. This is and there was nothing like it.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Nobody was taking a chance on female UM black ensembles
- 47:31Speaker 1: for sure, and you know, listen, they were candid and
- 47:34Speaker 1: told me that like, go, okay, well you know what
- 47:36Speaker 1: you say, And I said, I definitely this is something
- 47:38Speaker 1: that needs to be seen. I can do this, give
- 47:41Speaker 1: me three weeks and then a lot of the short
- 47:44Speaker 1: is yeah, I said, you know, give me three weeks
- 47:46Speaker 1: and believed in myself and knew that I can really
- 47:49Speaker 1: come here. And I only been and let let me
- 47:52Speaker 1: say a full disclosure, I am from Canada and I
- 47:55Speaker 1: really been in Atlanta for about i'd say almost a
- 48:00Speaker 1: full year fully. Um. Yeah, So so it took a
- 48:03Speaker 1: Canadian bragging this show needs have been Atlanta night to
- 48:10Speaker 1: be here. Yeah, and I believe in it. I just
- 48:12Speaker 1: came back and started talking to friends, and we'd traveled
- 48:16Speaker 1: and my second interview was Missnini leaks Um and the
- 48:20Speaker 1: rest of history because she really I loved her and
- 48:22Speaker 1: I always said, well, who are your friends? And I
- 48:24Speaker 1: had been interviewing women anyhow. So there's a lot of
- 48:27Speaker 1: people of the city who knew me from the very
- 48:29Speaker 1: beginning when this was just a dream and of hope
- 48:31Speaker 1: and you know, sitting on my basement floor trying to
- 48:33Speaker 1: find people. Sonni kind of introduced me to her friends.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I interviewed them with Sports in Network production company loved
- 48:40Speaker 1: it and I just kind of went with it and
- 48:42Speaker 1: the train was moving, and thank god it did, and
- 48:45Speaker 1: I jumped on and was able to sell that concept
- 48:47Speaker 1: two thousand and seven an hour in season eleven, and yeah,
- 48:51Speaker 1: and now I'm kind of finally stepping out and saying,
- 48:53Speaker 1: you know, listen, um, if I can do it, you know,
- 48:57Speaker 1: any any anyone can and or certainly when men who
- 49:00Speaker 1: have you know, want to be able to pursue this
- 49:03Speaker 1: type of dreams. So that's my short, long version of time.
- 49:07Speaker 1: So that's a very honest version because I know that
- 49:11Speaker 1: when you get a franchise this big is associated with
- 49:13Speaker 1: a lot of successful franchises. Now that you're coming out
- 49:17Speaker 1: of the coming out of the coming from the background,
- 49:20Speaker 1: do people question your role in and do people question
- 49:23Speaker 1: your level participation? Listen, I will say this. I started
- 49:28Speaker 1: to say this, um, and I started before I really
- 49:31Speaker 1: even realized it was a thing that people were saying.
- 49:33Speaker 1: But I say, you know, you got to write your
- 49:35Speaker 1: own story or else someone else will write it for you.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Control your narrative exactly. That was what was starting to happen. Um.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Of course, people in the city. I had a big
- 49:46Speaker 1: premiere party season one at the W Hotel. It was
- 49:49Speaker 1: an epic party, about eight hundred people, all the chat media.
- 49:52Speaker 1: It was really crazy. And so clearly back in two
- 49:55Speaker 1: thousand and seven, when I stepped up and thanked everybody
- 49:58Speaker 1: for you know, helping me to just to see my
- 50:01Speaker 1: dream come too light and my baby and all this stuff.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Right after that, about two years after that, I kind
- 50:07Speaker 1: of stepped back. And what happened was, I really, for me,
- 50:10Speaker 1: it was overwhelming the media, people knowing you, the criticism,
- 50:16Speaker 1: and I just personally did not sign up for that part.
- 50:19Speaker 1: So I really took a big step back and focused
- 50:22Speaker 1: on other projects and just cut myself quiet um. And
- 50:25Speaker 1: so really what happened was people just started assuming and
- 50:28Speaker 1: as television started to grow, people still don't understand how
- 50:32Speaker 1: television is made and sold. And a lot of times,
- 50:35Speaker 1: you know, you get on the show and I worked
- 50:37Speaker 1: on the show. By the way I worked on season
- 50:39Speaker 1: wanted to very very I mean without working on it,
- 50:42Speaker 1: there really I don't there couldn't have been a show
- 50:45Speaker 1: because I told all stories um with the producers of course,
- 50:48Speaker 1: but I initiated what those stories were prior to the
- 50:51Speaker 1: show even selling. So I say all that to say
- 50:54Speaker 1: I really did um and shy away from all of
- 50:57Speaker 1: that and stayed away. And the longer I stay the
- 51:00Speaker 1: way listen, people started to just assume things like you know,
- 51:04Speaker 1: some of the producers who were working on the show
- 51:06Speaker 1: created it, or even for lack of better understanding, men
- 51:09Speaker 1: created the show. We're supposed to lean had a huge
- 51:12Speaker 1: part in bringing her talents and her gifts and other
- 51:15Speaker 1: women to the show. However, there was this one young
- 51:18Speaker 1: woman who just kind of stepped up and did it
- 51:20Speaker 1: with the help of others. Of course, um, you know
- 51:23Speaker 1: in the network saying yet and so I just kind
