- 4:34Speaker 2: Say it again.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Bishop Jakes told me something man that helped me so greatly.
- 4:40Speaker 7: You can't drive your car if you gonna keep looking
- 4:44Speaker 7: in the rear view mirror. That's why the windshield is huge.
- 4:49Speaker 7: The windshield is huge. The rear view mirror is this
- 4:53Speaker 7: tiny thing that sits up there.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Now all is far.
- 4:57Speaker 7: It's so you can see stuff that's coming up on you.
- 5:01Speaker 7: All the rearview mirror for is so you can assure yourself, Oh,
- 5:05Speaker 7: listen to this. The realview mirror is imp there to
- 5:08Speaker 7: assure you that you've cleared something.
- 5:12Speaker 6: See.
- 5:12Speaker 2: That's what the rearview mirrors for.
- 5:14Speaker 7: So when you pass the can you want to switch lanes,
- 5:16Speaker 7: you can glance up there and it says, okay, you're clear.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Now you passed it. You can switch lanes. That's all
- 5:23Speaker 2: the rearview mirrors.
- 5:24Speaker 7: For it ain't for you to stare at and dictate
- 5:26Speaker 7: your life with what you're tripping for. Man, catch fire
- 5:29Speaker 7: today today, Man, quit complaining about everything that did happened
- 5:35Speaker 7: to you. Life is ten percent. What happens to you
- 5:38Speaker 7: is ninety percent. What you do about what happens to you?
- 5:41Speaker 7: What are you going to do about it?
- 5:45Speaker 2: So what I got all this?
- 5:46Speaker 7: Look, man, your story ain't no deeper than nobody else's.
- 5:49Speaker 7: I can tell you I was homeless for three years.
- 5:52Speaker 7: It's people been homeless for thirty years. How long I'm
- 5:56Speaker 7: gonna ride that out?
- 5:58Speaker 6: Man?
- 5:59Speaker 2: You know I can't do nothing right now. I fell
- 6:01Speaker 2: on hard times and I lost my place to stay.
- 6:04Speaker 7: Where you staying now? See the majority of people are
- 6:09Speaker 7: staying somewhere right now.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I was out there. I didn't have nowhere to go.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I'm in a shelter.
- 6:14Speaker 6: Now.
- 6:15Speaker 7: You was under the bridge a week aldgo You in
- 6:18Speaker 7: the shelter. Now, why you can still crying about the bridge?
- 6:22Speaker 7: You in a shelter now?
- 6:25Speaker 8: Man?
- 6:26Speaker 7: You know how you find your purpose? You get in
- 6:29Speaker 7: touch with who created you. Because when God made you,
- 6:35Speaker 7: he had a purpose in mind. Now we've ignored it
- 6:39Speaker 7: and we haven't tapped into it. But we all had
- 6:41Speaker 7: a purpose. You don't, and it's sometimes it takes people
- 6:44Speaker 7: longing to discover the purpose. Colonel Sanders was frying chicken
- 6:49Speaker 7: with a recipe that he was telling people was the
- 6:52Speaker 7: best chicken in the world. Ain't nobody believe him till
- 6:55Speaker 7: he turned seventy? Why you think the dude on the
- 7:00Speaker 7: Kentucky Fried Chicken signs is old. That dude ain't twenty
- 7:05Speaker 7: up there he oh, he oh, But you know what,
- 7:09Speaker 7: he had been frying that chicken for forty some years.
- 7:15Speaker 7: They just found out about it when he was seventy.
- 7:19Speaker 7: But he didn't give up his purpose in life. This
- 7:22Speaker 7: dude was just frying chicken. See, people keep looking for
- 7:25Speaker 7: their gifts in all kinds of places when it's right
- 7:28Speaker 7: there in you.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You ain't got to go to school to find your gift.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You're born with.
- 7:32Speaker 7: The gift that God got for you. You'll go to
- 7:35Speaker 7: school to tack it on to something else. But your
- 7:38Speaker 7: gift was already given to you.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You were born with that.
- 7:41Speaker 7: You don't have to go to college to know your gift.
- 7:44Speaker 7: Your college allows you to enhance it and to find
- 7:46Speaker 7: something to attach it to and Hopefully you get a
- 7:49Speaker 7: degree that attaches your gift to a vehicle where it
- 7:52Speaker 7: can work. The problem with college is we go to
- 7:56Speaker 7: college and we attach it to what we like or
- 7:58Speaker 7: what we might be passionate about.
- 8:00Speaker 2: That we ignore the gift we have.
- 8:01Speaker 7: You know how many people and graduated from college ain't
- 8:03Speaker 7: doing nothing they went to college for. Come on, man,
- 8:06Speaker 7: you know why because you discover in life your gift.
- 8:09Speaker 7: You discover what you was born to do. I wasn't bought,
- 8:12Speaker 7: you know what I mean? You know what my major
- 8:14Speaker 7: was in college? It was advertising. I can't be at
- 8:18Speaker 7: no death, drawing, no picture for nobody. But now guess
- 8:21Speaker 7: what I can wake up every day and guess what
- 8:23Speaker 7: I can tell you. I advertise. I've been advertising my career.
- 8:26Speaker 7: Come see me live. Come see me live at Madison Square,
- 8:30Speaker 7: guard Come see me live at Phillips A Wreena. Come
- 8:33Speaker 7: see me live at Jokers Comedy Club. Come see me
- 8:35Speaker 7: live at Percy's. Come see me live at Elisis Tavin.
- 8:39Speaker 7: Come see me live. I've been advertising the whole time,
- 8:44Speaker 7: but I had a different purpose in mind because I
- 8:46Speaker 7: went and I talked to God.
- 8:48Speaker 2: And this is how you do it.
- 8:49Speaker 7: You go talk to God and say, hey, God, look, okay,
- 8:52Speaker 7: this is the deal. I've been struggling here. I'm over forty.
- 8:57Speaker 7: I still haven't found my purpose in life. Okay, but
- 9:00Speaker 7: so I can quit wasting any more time. Would you
- 9:03Speaker 7: help direct me and guide me to my purpose? I
- 9:06Speaker 7: know you created me to do something. I just haven't
- 9:09Speaker 7: found what it is. And the reason I haven't found
- 9:11Speaker 7: what it is because I've been doing things my way.
- 9:14Speaker 7: I ain't been checking what you, conferring with you on anything.
- 9:17Speaker 7: I ain't locked in. I tried to settle it up
- 9:19Speaker 7: with you. I've been just doing my thing. Well, my
- 9:22Speaker 7: thing has gotten me as far as it can get me.
- 9:25Speaker 7: How about you take over and do your thing now?
- 9:28Speaker 7: Can you direct me in my path? I'm an open book.
- 9:32Speaker 7: Treat me like a piece of clay. I'm telling you, man,
- 9:35Speaker 7: if you go to God, he'll give it to you.
- 9:37Speaker 7: But see you have not because you ask not. How
- 9:41Speaker 7: many times have you asked God for it?
- 9:45Speaker 2: This ain't no magic trick, y'all. This is the deal.
- 9:49Speaker 7: You got to catch fire today. Catch fire today, I am.
- 9:53Speaker 7: I'm excited about today. I've got a lot to do.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening morning show.
- 10:02Speaker 7: Ladies and gentlemen, we are here. We have arrived at

- 10:11Speaker 7: gift is called the President. We have arrived at.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Another moment in time that none of us have ever
- 10:17Speaker 2: been granted before. It's called now.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Man.
- 10:21Speaker 7: I thank God for now, for today, for a new opportunity.
- 10:25Speaker 7: I thank God for helping me and my wife survive
- 10:30Speaker 7: all of it. I thank God for friendships. I thank
- 10:34Speaker 7: God for praying people. I thank God for those people
- 10:37Speaker 7: who love us.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Man.
- 10:39Speaker 7: Thank you Lord, Thank you for whatever you're doing behind
- 10:42Speaker 7: the scenes that I'm unaware of. Thank you, Heavenly Father,
- 10:47Speaker 7: cause you done kept us through it all, and you
- 10:49Speaker 7: will keep us through all this too.
- 10:51Speaker 2: We say thank you. We give honor in God to
- 10:53Speaker 2: God Almighty. Man O man o man.
- 10:56Speaker 7: We feeling good, were stronger, we together, everybody looking good.
- 11:00Speaker 7: This is Steve hall water show. He ain't through with
- 11:05Speaker 7: me yet. You know, I wish y'all was, but he ain't.
- 11:09Speaker 7: I really thank God here. I wish y'all would go
- 11:12Speaker 7: somewhere and sit down. Steve Harvey and Mardorie Harvey ain't
- 11:20Speaker 7: got no problem.
- 11:22Speaker 2: We are wonderful. God is good man, nice tribe. But
- 11:28Speaker 2: it didn't work.
- 11:29Speaker 7: Yeah, it's happening to me. And I like bringing up
- 11:32Speaker 7: cause like tell people how good God.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Is, period.
- 11:36Speaker 7: And one of my reasons for being tested is just
- 11:39Speaker 7: to show people that you're supposed to like Isaac Karee
- 11:42Speaker 7: had that song?
- 11:43Speaker 8: What was that song? Isaac kare.
- 11:46Speaker 7: Praise him in the middle of him, And we're in
- 11:49Speaker 7: the middle of it, and I'm still giving him praise
- 11:52Speaker 7: and honor.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I'm trying to do the best I can. Man.
- 11:55Speaker 7: Now, I heard somebody say good morning, Shirley Strawberry calling
- 12:00Speaker 7: for real Mississippi Monica and Junior moaning. Somebody said, Steve,
- 12:07Speaker 7: just keep praying for your enemies. My direct and immediate
- 12:12Speaker 7: response was, wow, I hope all of them get big
- 12:16Speaker 7: ass hemorrhoids and they bus while they're Disneyland.
- 12:22Speaker 8: That was my prayer so bad?
- 12:25Speaker 2: That wasn't the right pend was. I didn't say it
- 12:30Speaker 2: was a prayer. I said my whole thought.
- 12:34Speaker 7: I know, I've learned not to pray for the demise
- 12:37Speaker 7: of my enemies. I did ask God one time to
- 12:40Speaker 7: remove somebody from earth, and he didn't.
- 12:43Speaker 2: And that's when I knew I wasn't supposed to pray
- 12:45Speaker 2: for many minutes. Was a long time ago. Long we
- 12:49Speaker 2: talking about twenty seventeen. Oh no, no, oh no, no,
- 12:53Speaker 2: I was in my twenties. No one time. I didn't
- 12:57Speaker 2: know God worked like that. I didn't know he didn't
- 12:59Speaker 2: do evil on no behalf.
- 13:01Speaker 7: I just I didn't care how he did it. I
- 13:03Speaker 7: would just had prayed that he was removed from the earth,
- 13:06Speaker 7: just as long as he go to Hell or whoever
- 13:08Speaker 7: you go take. Could you take him today?
- 13:11Speaker 2: You got the look at the answer you rich today?
- 13:16Speaker 6: You know that was no prayer.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I didn't know what to tell you're rich today.
- 13:26Speaker 7: I wasn't rich at the end, though I probably delayed
- 13:30Speaker 7: it for a while. I set you back a minute.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, all right.

- 15:19Speaker 10: little heart to heart.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Talk with you.
- 15:20Speaker 10: Man, so maybe you know, uh, you know, we can
- 15:23Speaker 10: get things in a a in a better position. But
- 15:25Speaker 10: I just wanted I just wanted me and you to

- 28:59Speaker 9: My husband and I went to rival colleges, and we

- 29:04Speaker 9: last year, so he doesn't want to go with me
- 29:06Speaker 9: this year. This has been our thing for seven years,
- 29:09Speaker 9: So why is he being such a sored loser?
- 29:11Speaker 1: Should I stay home or go?

- 29:33Speaker 2: He is so lose, Go and go to the game.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Leave him making out.
- 29:37Speaker 1: All right, all right, thank you, Clo. Coming up at
- 29:40Speaker 1: the top of the hour, we'll have some entertainment news
- 29:43Speaker 1: for you right after this exquisite choice. You're listening hard
- 29:51Speaker 1: morning show.
- 29:53Speaker 9: Well, guys, we just said Jeezy as our special guest
- 29:56Speaker 9: on the show a little while ago, and we didn't
- 29:58Speaker 9: see this one coming. But according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution,
- 30:03Speaker 9: JZ has filed for divorce from his wife, Genie May,
- 30:06Speaker 9: after less than three years of marriage. The divorce filing
- 30:09Speaker 9: states that Jay Wayne Jenkins, of course g Z, we
- 30:12Speaker 9: know him as g Z, and Genie May are currently
- 30:15Speaker 9: living in a bona fide state of separation, and that
- 30:18Speaker 9: their marriage is irretrievically broken and with no hope for reconciliation.
- 30:24Speaker 9: The documents also state that GZ is seeking joint physical
- 30:27Speaker 9: and legal custody of their twenty month old daughter, Monaco.
- 30:33Speaker 7: So let me ask you a question. This is a
- 30:36Speaker 7: question so GZ filed for divorce? Yes, And how did
- 30:41Speaker 7: the Atlanta Constitution find out?
- 30:44Speaker 2: Public record?
- 30:45Speaker 6: Public?
- 30:46Speaker 10: Publicly?
- 30:47Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 30:47Speaker 1: I mean it's everywhere.
- 30:49Speaker 7: Oh okay, So if people really are getting a divorce,
- 30:53Speaker 7: it would be on public records somewhere, especially if they famous. Yes,
- 31:00Speaker 7: So you mean you mean a beat reporter would see
- 31:04Speaker 7: a person's name and be able to report that as fact.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah, what did you get down there?
- 31:11Speaker 1: I'm trying to see what?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, where are you going? Marriages and divorce is a
- 31:17Speaker 2: public record?
- 31:17Speaker 8: Public really?
- 31:20Speaker 6: Yeah? Yeah?
- 31:21Speaker 7: Okay, so if I was getting a divorce, that would
- 31:27Speaker 7: be public record.
- 31:29Speaker 1: If you know, you're making this about you?
- 31:32Speaker 2: We just talking about Jesus.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Yeah, we just talked about Yeah, okay.
- 31:35Speaker 2: We're moving on.
- 31:37Speaker 1: This was trying to make sure that's how it go
- 31:40Speaker 1: you know how it goes.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Are you saying anybody seeing yours on public record?
- 31:45Speaker 6: What?
- 31:46Speaker 2: I'm moving on?
- 31:50Speaker 6: That's what?
- 31:52Speaker 9: And it has been trending all weekend and in a
- 31:56Speaker 9: recent interview with The Shade Room, singer and mom, Sierra
- 31:59Speaker 9: could not control her laughter when she was asked about
- 32:02Speaker 9: how the co parenting is going with her ex fiance Future.
- 32:06Speaker 9: They share a son, of course, Future Junior together, take
- 32:09Speaker 9: a listen, and.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Last question is like, what is a co parenting like
- 32:13Speaker 2: for you guys?
- 32:38Speaker 1: I feel like, yeah, laugh it up. Yeah, words needed,
- 32:47Speaker 1: no words needed.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yes, that was our answers.
- 32:52Speaker 1: She said what she said, She laughed, how she laughed?
- 32:56Speaker 12: Yeah, it's hard hard. So making all this money, yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 12: don't ee know co parenting? When you make eighty million
- 33:04Speaker 12: a season, A nobody co parenting?
- 33:08Speaker 9: All right, So we're really happy about this next story
- 33:10Speaker 9: because we've wonted this for a while. We already knew this,
- 33:14Speaker 9: but Nelly has confirmed that yes, he and Ashanti are
- 33:18Speaker 9: officially dating again. Yes, Nellie, what's wrong?
- 33:22Speaker 2: Junia? What now going? What's going?
- 33:26Speaker 9: Nellie was a guest on the podcast Boss Moves with Rashida,
- 33:30Speaker 9: and when asked if he and a Shanti are dating again,
- 33:32Speaker 9: he responded, yeah, we cool again. I think it surprised
- 33:36Speaker 9: both of us though it wasn't anything that was like,
- 33:40Speaker 9: I don't know planned. I think we both were pretty
- 33:42Speaker 9: much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you
- 33:45Speaker 9: understand one another more. Shanti and Nelly first began dating
- 33:50Speaker 9: back in two thousand and three. They dated for ten
- 33:52Speaker 9: years before ending things in twenty thirteen.
- 33:56Speaker 1: So hopefully this won't be another ten years.
- 33:58Speaker 2: They need to get married.
- 33:59Speaker 13: Yeah, and Ashanti was gonna be like Beyonce and Jay
- 34:04Speaker 13: in the day that powered couple.
- 34:06Speaker 6: Get me.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, okay what Steve yes, Steve yes, I have
- 34:12Speaker 2: another question.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I'm sick of your question.
- 34:15Speaker 7: What so you mean to tell me if Nellie say
- 34:21Speaker 7: they together? If Nellie, if it come out Nelly's mouth
- 34:26Speaker 7: that they are together, he said it, Yes, you mean
- 34:30Speaker 7: that's what they go with? Yes, yes, yes, Wait wait,
- 34:36Speaker 7: all of the blobs and stuff is running.
- 34:38Speaker 2: With that one because he said yes.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Okay, another question, questions.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Then I tried something.
- 34:54Speaker 7: Me and Marjorie have no marital problems and we're doing wonderful.
- 35:01Speaker 7: Ain't nobody filed for divorce? And we on grand baby
- 35:05Speaker 7: watch right now, and we are happily married, and there
- 35:07Speaker 7: has been no infidelity in our relationship. Can any can
- 35:11Speaker 7: I say that and they.

- 44:09Speaker 2: Yeah, this is that if I need to do. Yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 2: you need to toughen your voice up.
- 44:13Speaker 7: You're gonna have problems in your marriage like that because
- 44:16Speaker 7: the children's voice is stronger than you.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Married her.
- 44:20Speaker 13: You know, all the kids, all the kids sound tougher
- 44:23Speaker 13: than you. The grand you know she got children.
- 44:27Speaker 7: I know your father and your grandfather right away, your
- 44:30Speaker 7: grand babies.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Damn it sounds.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Was that junior or the babies?
- 44:40Speaker 2: She right down wants this confusing.
- 44:45Speaker 8: JUNI y'all come on.

- 44:48Speaker 14: sweet y'all Oday, I'm gonna get on out of here, you.
- 44:53Speaker 9: Sweetie coming up next to his junior and for the
- 44:57Speaker 9: nephew with today's frank phone call right after the you're
- 45:01Speaker 9: listening morning show coming up at about four minutes after
- 45:06Speaker 9: the hour. It's my strawberry letter for today and the
- 45:09Speaker 9: subject is one of your favorite songs, Steve Boogie Wonderland.
- 45:13Speaker 6: Uh.
- 45:14Speaker 9: We'll get into that to find out what that's all
- 45:15Speaker 9: about in just a few because right now it is
- 45:19Speaker 9: time for the prank phone call for today, and.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Junior is in for the nephew, which you got, Junior.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Repo the pews, No cows, you don't. You won't take
- 45:31Speaker 2: the cue. That's terrible. I can't go to heaven and
- 45:36Speaker 2: see him in there. I can't. I cannot walk up
- 45:40Speaker 2: there and say is that timing? I can't see it. Repoe,
- 45:45Speaker 2: the pews, come on, can't.
- 45:48Speaker 6: I'm trying to reach a pastor, Pastor Wilkins. Wilkins, are
- 45:54Speaker 6: you the you're the pastor of Baptisters? Am I right?
- 45:59Speaker 15: That's correct?
- 46:00Speaker 6: Okay, Melissa, My name is Daniel, and I'm calling from
- 46:04Speaker 6: a RCS, which is a church supply, and we have
- 46:08Speaker 6: an outstanding bill here that we wanted to bring to
- 46:11Speaker 6: u all's attention for like twenty three thousand dollars for
- 46:15Speaker 6: your pews that has not been paid. So we wanted
- 46:17Speaker 6: to see.
- 46:20Speaker 11: Not to cut you off.
- 46:22Speaker 15: Yeah, yeah, Daniel from RCS, Yeah.
- 46:25Speaker 6: Church supply, sir. That's this is exactly what you guys
- 46:29Speaker 6: got your pugs.
- 46:30Speaker 15: Okay, our standing bill for twenty three times Well, first
- 46:34Speaker 15: of all, that's normally all our standing bills are handled
- 46:38Speaker 15: by our finance department. You know, you wouldn't to speak
- 46:41Speaker 15: to our treasurer and they'll be able to mp you
- 46:43Speaker 15: with that.
- 46:43Speaker 6: Evidently, sir, that this hasn't been taken care of in
- 46:46Speaker 6: this matter when it comes to these pews, because like
- 46:48Speaker 6: I stayed it before, you guys owe twenty three thousand
- 46:51Speaker 6: dollars on these pews, and I think this was probably
- 46:54Speaker 6: twelve to thirteen years ago, so maybe this was something
- 46:57Speaker 6: before you got there. But nevertheless, and outstanding billing. Right now,
- 47:01Speaker 6: we're actually going to be repossessing these pews as of
- 47:05Speaker 6: early seven o'clock Sunday morning.
- 47:08Speaker 15: Uh, not far this Sunday morning. No, we have the
- 47:12Speaker 15: Women's Day's Missionary is here today and also Funday we
- 47:16Speaker 15: have like our pick man, you have.
- 47:19Speaker 6: A lot of things and you actually run it off
- 47:21Speaker 6: your schedule. To me, that's that's really not my concern.
- 47:24Speaker 6: And maybe your Women's Day or whatever is gonna y'all
- 47:27Speaker 6: gonna do it standing up, because.
- 47:28Speaker 15: Right now we're not going to do it. You're not
- 47:31Speaker 15: understanding me. See did you say twelve or thirteen years ago?
- 47:34Speaker 6: Suir?
- 47:35Speaker 15: Well, I've been the past here every ten years, and
- 47:37Speaker 15: you know, you know, like that.
- 47:41Speaker 6: Occurred before you got there, but nevertheless, the bill is
- 47:44Speaker 6: still outstanding and these pills need to be taken care of. Now,
- 47:48Speaker 6: if y'all don't have the twenty three thousand dollars, then
- 47:51Speaker 6: I got to come pick these pews up Sunday morning. Sir.
- 47:53Speaker 11: We're gonna don't go over there.
- 47:55Speaker 6: You're not hearing me.
- 47:56Speaker 15: And first of all, this is my private number. How
- 47:58Speaker 15: did you get this number?
- 48:00Speaker 6: Numbers here in the books as a contact?
- 48:02Speaker 15: No, this is this is all. I only get us
- 48:04Speaker 15: out to very few people, and I know none of
- 48:06Speaker 15: them will will give out numbers. So that's that's the
- 48:08Speaker 15: issue right there. And second of all, if you're talking
- 48:11Speaker 15: about coming in our church Sunday morning to take our pews, uh,
- 48:15Speaker 15: that's not something you really want to.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Do, sir.
- 48:17Speaker 6: I have to do my job the same way you
- 48:19Speaker 6: get up on Sunday morning and you have to do yours.
- 48:22Speaker 6: I have to do mine. So my job is to
- 48:24Speaker 6: get these fews back because you guys are twenty three
- 48:27Speaker 6: thousand dollars in the riars.
- 48:28Speaker 15: No, tyl, let me tell you, I ain't always been
- 48:31Speaker 15: been a preacher. Now you come in my church and
- 48:33Speaker 15: you test them pegs, I'm gonna come out that proof here.
- 48:37Speaker 6: I'm not here to go to what you used to
- 48:41Speaker 6: be and what you are now. I'm nothing to go
- 48:43Speaker 6: back and forth with you on that the bottom line.
- 48:45Speaker 15: So the consequention you don't want to deal with sign
- 48:47Speaker 15: because you know, I, oh hello, hold on, hold on,
- 48:51Speaker 15: let me calm down, because you know you have to
- 48:53Speaker 15: make me say some words that I've been delivered from.
- 48:55Speaker 6: Thank God, I'm going to deliver them pews away from
- 48:59Speaker 6: you on Sunday. Now, I got to come and pick
- 49:02Speaker 6: them pews up. That's the bottom line. Do you have
- 49:05Speaker 6: twenty three thousand Sunday morning?
- 49:07Speaker 15: Twenty three thousands? I understand that's not the issue. The
- 49:09Speaker 15: issue is you have no business calling me on my
- 49:12Speaker 15: personal phone. I'm in my meta crazing time right now,
- 49:15Speaker 15: trying to get consecrated for you know, my mexic At
- 49:17Speaker 15: after deliver later this afternoon. So we need all of
- 49:21Speaker 15: our futures.
- 49:22Speaker 6: Well, let me ask you something such. Do you have
- 49:24Speaker 6: the twenty three thousand dollars that you can give me
- 49:27Speaker 6: Sunday morning and then you can continue whatever it is
- 49:29Speaker 6: you have going on that day. Other than that, I'm
- 49:32Speaker 6: gonna have to take them pills.
- 49:34Speaker 15: I got to call me betweenty y'all. If you're not listening,
- 49:36Speaker 15: sign that ain't my bill. I ain't paying it. You
- 49:40Speaker 15: ain't touching my cues.
- 49:42Speaker 6: I'm not gonna continue to go. Okay, listen, I'm trying
- 49:45Speaker 6: to respect what's fastor will trying to respect you.
- 49:49Speaker 15: First remend, doctor Wilkins. I'd appreciate this. You call me
- 49:53Speaker 15: in my name, Reverend doctor Wilkins.
- 49:55Speaker 6: Okay, Reverend doctor Wilkins. Now, first of all, coming up
- 50:00Speaker 6: there Sunday. Now, I'm hoping I only have to lay
- 50:02Speaker 6: hands on these pews. Now I gotta lay hands on
- 50:05Speaker 6: something else. Then I got to do what I got
- 50:07Speaker 6: to do.
- 50:08Speaker 15: Said out. You can come on up here, and you
- 50:10Speaker 15: said it on the property, that's cool, but you touch
- 50:13Speaker 15: them pills. I got some lawyers in here. They can
- 50:15Speaker 15: take that Jesus coade off. They can stay down, they
- 50:17Speaker 15: can get with you, partner. You know what I'm saying.
- 50:20Speaker 15: You know what they they do. I walk through the
- 50:23Speaker 15: valley shadow of death. I will see no evil.
- 50:25Speaker 11: I ain't got no problem.
- 50:27Speaker 6: Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait.
- 50:29Speaker 11: Wait wait you talking about coming to me and to
- 50:31Speaker 11: my church because my cues.
- 50:33Speaker 6: I'm gonna do what I got to do.
- 50:34Speaker 11: Man, Then y'all, I'm gonna do what I gotta do
- 50:38Speaker 11: in the name of Jenius.
- 50:39Speaker 6: Right man, Hey, man, stand up the whole service. Now,
- 50:44Speaker 6: what which one do you want?
- 50:45Speaker 15: Because we have thisever you want to have it.
- 50:47Speaker 6: I got I got something else I want to tell you.
- 50:49Speaker 6: You listen to me, past you listening?
- 50:50Speaker 15: If you ain't saying nothing?
- 50:51Speaker 6: Sign is you listening?
- 50:53Speaker 15: What you got to say to me?
- 50:54Speaker 6: I've got to say this to you death his nephew
- 50:57Speaker 6: tom Me from the Steve Harby Morning You just got
- 51:01Speaker 6: pranked by your entire deacon boy who what who? Man
- 51:10Speaker 6: will because this is his nephew, Tommy Man from the

- 51:15Speaker 6: plank phone called you. Boy. I can't believe this, boy.
- 51:18Speaker 15: You almost made me a little my religious son.

- 51:39Speaker 11: Oh man, I mean.
- 51:43Speaker 6: I gotta ask you, man, pastor, what is the baddest
- 51:46Speaker 6: radio show in the land.

- 52:54Speaker 7: like Yamaha, Well, you know that's that's what you get though.
- 52:58Speaker 7: When you're trying to be creative, you know, just name
- 53:00Speaker 7: it something we can all remember. Yamaha Casino would have
- 53:03Speaker 7: been real that, but you know, you got your mom
- 53:04Speaker 7: and all this that. We don't know what she's saying. Anyway,
- 53:07Speaker 7: It's gonna be a motivational speech out there on the

- 53:21Speaker 7: That's ninety miles north of Dallas. So they driving up
- 53:24Speaker 7: for that north of Dallas at the Chalk Tall Casino. See,
- 53:28Speaker 7: you can say that that's a real nation, the chalk
- 53:32Speaker 7: Taw Nation. See, that's why you don't go over that
- 53:34Speaker 7: messing with that. People like that. They call the chalk
- 53:37Speaker 7: Tars for a reason. And it sounded like you know that,
- 53:40Speaker 7: you know that's what It just sounds like it could
- 53:43Speaker 7: be a problem if you go over there wrong. So
- 53:46Speaker 7: we don't want to go in wrong or to be respectful.
- 53:48Speaker 7: Love chalk Taw Nation, chalk Taw Casino. Steve Harvey will
- 53:51Speaker 7: be their motivational two on the thirtieth, and then after that,

- 53:58Speaker 7: We're going on the trip anyway. I ain't gonna post
- 54:02Speaker 7: it or nothing, because you're probably gonna lie about that.
- 54:04Speaker 7: But that's where I am the day, all right.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Coming up next, thank you, Steve.
- 54:10Speaker 9: Coming up next to this a Strawberry letter, the subject
- 54:13Speaker 9: Boogie Wonderland. We'll get into it right after this. You're

- 54:21Speaker 9: today's Strawberry Letter. If you need advice and relationships, work, sex, parenting,
- 54:26Speaker 9: and more, please submit your Strawberry letter to Steve HAARVFM
- 54:29Speaker 9: dot com and click submit Strawberry Letter. We could be
- 54:33Speaker 9: reading your letter live on the air, just like we're
- 54:36Speaker 9: gonna read this one right here, right now, and you
- 54:38Speaker 9: never know, it could be yours.
- 54:40Speaker 2: You never know, Ladies, jell me. It's time for the
- 54:42Speaker 2: Strawberry Little My good friend, Shirley.
- 54:44Speaker 9: Strawberry, Thank you, my good friend Junior, subject Boogie wonder Land.
- 54:49Speaker 9: Dear Stephen, Shirley, my husband and I have owned a
- 54:53Speaker 9: lounge for almost ten years, and over the years it's
- 54:56Speaker 9: transitioned into a few different things. We used to sell
- 54:59Speaker 9: fish wings, then we stopped doing food and went to
- 55:02Speaker 9: a live jazz and wine tasting. No one came to that,
- 55:07Speaker 9: so we started catering to the younger crowd, and that
- 55:10Speaker 9: was a big problem because they don't know how to act.
- 55:12Speaker 1: So four years ago my husband decided to make.
- 55:15Speaker 9: It an old school lounge and we put in shag
- 55:18Speaker 9: carpet and hanging plants to make it look like the seventies.
- 55:21Speaker 9: The neighborhood where the lounge is has gotten pretty bad
- 55:24Speaker 9: over the years, but we wanted to keep it in
- 55:27Speaker 9: the area because it's where my husband grew up. All
- 55:30Speaker 9: of his old friends and his family come to the
- 55:32Speaker 9: lounge and hang out, and he doesn't charge them for
- 55:35Speaker 9: drinks at all. All of the men have nicknames, and
- 55:38Speaker 9: they want to come to the lounge to cheat on
- 55:40Speaker 9: their wives and play spades with women that don't mind
- 55:43Speaker 9: messing with married men. My husband is cool with it
- 55:46Speaker 9: all as long as the lounge has people in it.
- 55:49Speaker 9: I'm not in the business of running boogie wonderland with
- 55:52Speaker 9: old people that don't spend money. We have no smoking signs,
- 55:56Speaker 9: but my husband will not enforce it because his uncle
- 55:59Speaker 9: comes in there and smokes. I found out last week
- 56:02Speaker 9: that my husband allowed a group of folks to bring
- 56:04Speaker 9: in a crock pot and put and cats rolls for
- 56:07Speaker 9: a birthday party. I'm sure he let them bring in
- 56:10Speaker 9: their own alcohol too. It's time for us to close
- 56:13Speaker 9: the Boogie Wonderland. How do I convince my husband to
- 56:17Speaker 9: let it go for good? Well, it sounds like you're
- 56:20Speaker 9: into the Boogie Wonderland for business, but your husband uses
- 56:24Speaker 9: it to kick it with his friends and family and
- 56:26Speaker 9: not for profit. Making money doesn't seem like a priority
- 56:29Speaker 9: to him now, does it. It's his social hangout, so
- 56:34Speaker 9: it will be hard to convince him to let the
- 56:37Speaker 9: business go. Clearly, you're ready to go, and you're right,
- 56:41Speaker 9: there's no way you can make money. But the way
- 56:43Speaker 9: your husband is running things, it's time for you guys
- 56:46Speaker 9: to get out before you start losing all your money
- 56:50Speaker 9: because giving away free drinks and letting people bring in
- 56:53Speaker 9: their own own drinks and food will.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Be a disaster for your business.
- 56:57Speaker 9: You and your husband need to have a serious conversation
- 56:59Speaker 9: about where this business is going, and you gotta let
- 57:02Speaker 9: him know how you feel.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Steve, Oh, this letter flood out just don't make no
- 57:06Speaker 2: damn sense. I don't know.
- 57:10Speaker 7: I mean, what your husband's in it for is not
- 57:13Speaker 7: for the business of making money. I don't know what
- 57:16Speaker 7: y'all bottom line look like, your p and L or
- 57:18Speaker 7: all this here. I don't know what your return on
- 57:20Speaker 7: investment is. I don't know how much it costs to
- 57:23Speaker 7: run the place. I don't know how much in free
- 57:26Speaker 7: alcohol he's given away versus how much he's making. You
- 57:30Speaker 7: didn't say if it was profitable at all, but it
- 57:32Speaker 7: don't sound like it is. Y'all have no rules of
- 57:35Speaker 7: regulation for this place. Y'all just open up, let people
- 57:39Speaker 7: do what they they that cooking food. Y'all used to
- 57:41Speaker 7: sell wings and fish.
- 57:44Speaker 2: And y'all stopping. Then y'all went to live jazz and.
- 57:47Speaker 7: Wine tases where they work at? Where do live jazz
- 57:51Speaker 7: and wine tass work at in the hood? That's not
- 57:56Speaker 7: a you know y'all calling it a lounge. You have
- 57:58Speaker 7: a tavern. This is a tapping. This is a place
- 58:03Speaker 7: where old people go tapping. And this place, let me
- 58:07Speaker 7: tell you some there's places in the hood where old
- 58:09Speaker 7: people go taverns. Uh, the GFW Hall. That's another place,
- 58:17Speaker 7: whelled bingo. Now they not that they making money at bingo,
- 58:23Speaker 7: but your husband ain't. That's transition to a few things
- 58:27Speaker 7: over you your live jazz and wine tastes, and nobody
- 58:30Speaker 7: came to that. Then y'all started catering to the younger crowd.
- 58:34Speaker 7: I don't know why you surprised for this. That was
- 58:36Speaker 7: a big problem because they don't know how to.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Duh, duh. Come on, now, you know what this happened.
- 58:47Speaker 2: You know what happens at these places.
- 58:50Speaker 7: So four years ago your husband decided to make it
- 58:52Speaker 7: an old school lounge. So you put in shag carpet
- 58:56Speaker 7: and hanging plants, and you know that it's gotten pretty bad.
- 59:01Speaker 2: Over the years. The neighborhood. Y'all got it.
- 59:03Speaker 7: Put put the place up here with your husband want
- 59:05Speaker 7: to stay there because that's where you're from. All his
- 59:09Speaker 7: old friends and family, they come to the lounge and
- 59:11Speaker 7: hang out. He don't charge them for drinks at all.
- 59:17Speaker 7: So they just in that living it up, kicking it.
- 59:22Speaker 7: They just they in the backyard. And then all the
- 59:28Speaker 7: men got nicknames. Oh I know this place right here,
- 59:32Speaker 7: O t old ot, that's shut for oldest. See I
- 59:41Speaker 7: tell you what we do. Give me the old names,
- 59:44Speaker 7: and I'll tell you what their nickname is. Ralph, Ralph, Ray, Ray,
- 59:53Speaker 7: Earl e Herman, he dog.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I know all nicknames I got, we got Jerome, Jerome Roami.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, y'all know what these is.
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: When we come back, I'll show you the nicknames of
- 1:00:17Speaker 7: the rest of these people, and we're gonna talk about
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: because they want to come to the lounge with these
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: nicknames to cheat on their wives and play spades with
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: women that don't mind messing around with married men. We're
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: gonna find out who these women are, what their name is,
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: what the nickname is, and how they're working out these
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: arrangements while they play in spades, and they don't put
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: up to no smoking signs.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: But his uncle coming now is.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Smoke uh huh, and he says nothing.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Yeah, he don't say it, damn And everybody scared of
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: his uncle. So ain't nobody gonna say this? All right?
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: All right, listen, autom is actually he dog have Fortusty's
- 1:01:04Speaker 9: response coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour,
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: Today's Strawberry Letter subject Boogie Wonderland.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: We'll get back into it right after this. You're listening
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Hardy Morning Show.
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: All right, Come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter.
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: The subject is Boogie Wonderland, one of your favorite songs
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: by Earth wind and fire.
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: It is a great song of h Yeah, as wonderful group.
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: This wife got a problem with her husband. They've owned
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: a lounge in their neighborhood for quite some time where
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: he grew up and as obviously not making money because
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: he used it as a hangout for his friends and
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: family that he doesn't charge for drinks. He ain't got
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: no rules established in there, he got no smoking signs up.
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: But his uncle, Herman, who they call affectionately heat Dog,
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: he dog coming there smoke anyway, So don't nobody say now,
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: because everybody kind of skared to him. You know, he
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: been locked up four times. Everybody kind of lead he
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: dog alone.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: So he come in in there smoking.
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: Because he dog talking about how the hell we can't
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: smoking lines we smoke in jail. You know when when
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: that stayed logic, you kind of have to I don't
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: even understand it here jail. I don't even understand this hill.
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: If you finished die, you had last request you had
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: for a cigarette? I can't have for a sigarette in here?
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: How did it working out?
- 1:02:26Speaker 15: Oh?
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: Now, she's also upset because they've made the loud several
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: things they used to sell, fishing wings and they stopped
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: doing that, so they turn it into a live or
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: jazz and wine tasted. Now, if they wasn't paying for
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: that E and j and they wasn't paying for that,
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: that that crown and that Jack Daniel, What the hell
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: make you think they finish? Come in here and listen
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: to jazz and buy wine?

- 1:03:50Speaker 7: building down and they got they leaning up against that
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: chair on the back of the big wicker chair with
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: the circle backs.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: Just swip there.
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: Yeah, they actually plumes. You got them plumes back there,
- 1:04:06Speaker 7: and and everybody take a picture. You know, women ain't

- 1:06:33Speaker 7: much or nothing. She want somebody to date her, but

- 1:07:28Speaker 9: sounded so good. Now coming up next to his Junior
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: and Sports Talk Junior right after this, you're listening.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: Morning show? All right, it is time now for junior
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: and Sports talk. What you got junior?
- 1:07:41Speaker 12: Okay, we'll get the NFL games tomorrow, But I gotta
- 1:07:45Speaker 12: talk to you about this because Deon Sanders is putting
- 1:07:48Speaker 12: college football upside down.
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: Man, he has never stayed up in my life that
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: late white college football.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I'm telling you.
- 1:07:59Speaker 12: Yeah, But is it the fact that he's Deon Sander's
- 1:08:02Speaker 12: and he's doing it his way and he's not doing
- 1:08:05Speaker 12: what every other college head coach is doing. He's doing
- 1:08:08Speaker 12: it Deon Sanders's way. Coach Prime, Coach Prime, because it's
- 1:08:13Speaker 12: like when the Colorada state head coach said that when
- 1:08:17Speaker 12: I when I talk to adults, I take my hat
- 1:08:19Speaker 12: and my glasses off as.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: If it's Sands. Yeah, is if Deon Sanders.
- 1:08:24Speaker 12: Don't have no home training because Prime talks to young
- 1:08:28Speaker 12: men and he recruits all the time.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: He just recruiting young men.
- 1:08:32Speaker 12: He understand the image of the swag, the whole nine
- 1:08:35Speaker 12: and shout the Colorado for winning the game.
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: Yeah, Okay, listen, man, what he's done, never been done before,
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: the way he bought in the recruiting class, the way
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: he dismissed some players, and then a way the rest
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: of the players walked in and quit they didn't have
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: the right culture. He bought in the right culture, But
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: the most important things he bought in his sons. Everybody's
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: surprised that secures Sanders, But like Dionne keep telling them,
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: I've been watching his kid his whole life. I know
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: who he is, and they've been coached that way, and
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: so you know, there's nothing around that. And then that
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: game right there, I actually thought, I said, man, they
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: done lost this one right here, because when they got
- 1:09:16Speaker 7: the ball on the two yard line, Yeah, with a
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: minute thirty or something like that left, that's a long
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: way to go. Put that on the kid. But that
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: kid started running that football something he hadn't done, and
- 1:09:28Speaker 7: got down there and I just said, Man, this is
- 1:09:32Speaker 7: Heisman Trophy type game play right here. Yes, And that's
- 1:09:37Speaker 7: what they're gonna have to look at this kid as
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: and coach Prime. He coaches the mind more than he
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: does the players. And I'm telling you, man, somebody they
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: looking at this guy. They looking at his contract somebody
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: gonna come along and pay this boy a truckload of
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: money now making more money than he did at Jackson
- 1:10:02Speaker 7: for everybody that got upset because he left Jackson. Y'all
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: don't understand how God works. Dion put a lot of
- 1:10:10Speaker 7: HBCUs on the map. There's more HBCU games being televised
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: now because of Dion than ever before. But Dion couldn't
- 1:10:17Speaker 7: stay there and finish the work that Dion was created
- 1:10:21Speaker 7: to do. He changes things, and now he's changing it
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: at a program just getting national attention, and that's special.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Different coach prime O Love coach by congratulations. All right.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, a loyal.
- 1:10:41Speaker 9: Listener Steve wants us to bring back one of her
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: all time favorite segments. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 1:10:48Speaker 9: You're listening har Morning Show. All right, Steve, this is
- 1:10:54Speaker 9: from Melinda in Nashville. Melinda says, Hi, Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 1:10:59Speaker 9: would you ever bring back the singing contest used to
- 1:11:02Speaker 9: do on the radio show. I can't sing, but the
- 1:11:05Speaker 9: people who would call in and think they could sing
- 1:11:07Speaker 9: was the highlight of my week.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Would you please bring it back for me? You know
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: what that was?
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Kind of one of my highlights too.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: Uh huh. I don't know.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Let's just I don't know. Just to hear you talk
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: about people, just go ahead. But you know, I miss
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: a lot of stuff.
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: They made us stop doing, man, and I don't know,
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: you know, because of the culture, we had to stop
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: doing a lot of things. I thought one of our most.
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: Know.
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: I know, it's several things that the Country Brothers was one. Okay,
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: they stopped us from doing that. They stopped Eugene. That
- 1:11:48Speaker 7: was very hurtful to me, and they stopped all time.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: I know it once again. But but slave, I knew it.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I knew it was coming slaves. Yeah, slave, the avil.
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: Off the air, brilliance of that moment, the reenactment of
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: them two slaves.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just I thought it was brilliant. Came up
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: to a stop side No the best.
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: Rock.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: When he was a special.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: He said he wanted to get was depressed. He was
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: very depressed.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Why we can't do it? Just because you know?
- 1:12:43Speaker 7: Well right there, Junior, junior. Really the number one reason
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: is because of them too, right there.
- 1:12:49Speaker 10: That's it.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you work here.
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: I love but sure, especially Carl you, they are the
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: number one reason why. I don't know why they took
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: Eugene off that hysterical. We never ever mentioned or degraded
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: his choices. My number one tease for Eugene was when
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: he broke up with Gloria.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and the song we used to play the song
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: why would you do that?
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: My glory by enchantment.
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: And I don't even really think we ever got any
- 1:13:33Speaker 7: complaints from any groups.
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: About it.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Now, but she wants to know about the singing contest.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: Bring that back.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: You can't bring none of my favorite back. They I had,
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: we had to quit doing tongue tide. Tongue tiede was
- 1:13:52Speaker 7: one of my favorites too.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah.
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: Then they come talking about you talking about people with
- 1:13:56Speaker 7: speech impediment, Well it was me dumb.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: You can't dumb.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: That was your interpreter.
- 1:14:04Speaker 7: I mean, dog, I had I studied and people we
- 1:14:07Speaker 7: can't play studying prank calls.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: No more.
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: We can't do nothing, man, because somebody would a problem,
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: could be offended. And I don't understand why it is.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: We didn't make the rules.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: But do you know though, that no matter what you do,
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: you can offend somebody in a jest.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Absolutely? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Now that I agree with
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: you because everybody's had some sort of experience.
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: Oh his, his, his brilliant moment. What social media can
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: do anything they want with no raalifications.
- 1:14:43Speaker 13: Slander you lie about you all of you know, not lie?
- 1:14:48Speaker 13: Oh you thought they was honest?
- 1:14:50Speaker 9: Yeah, because I mean, you know, it's a singing contest
- 1:14:54Speaker 9: coming back or now?
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: Yes, no.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: On this show, boy, something go off the show. It
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: can't come back. No, all right, but as soon I'm.
- 1:15:08Speaker 7: Gonna tell you that as soon as Shirley and Carl's
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: go on vacation, be Junior.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: And Tommy's gonna do re enactment.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Women's will stay on vacation.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Y'all go vacation, we do all, Yeah, we won't have
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: a show to come back to. Lady, you're right hey,
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: coming up.
- 1:15:28Speaker 9: In twenty minutes after the hour, we'll have more of
- 1:15:30Speaker 9: the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. Well, Linda,
- 1:15:34Speaker 9: feel you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:15:41Speaker 11: Well.
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: Over the weekend, Drew Barrymore gave an emotional apology to
- 1:15:45Speaker 9: thousands of writers who are part of the writer strike
- 1:15:48Speaker 9: because her show has returned to production. The Writer Writers
- 1:15:52Speaker 9: Guild of America members and writers for the Drew Barrymore
- 1:15:55Speaker 9: show picketed outside of CBS studios in New York last week.
- 1:15:59Speaker 9: And I'll shows like The Talk, Jennifer Hudson, Sherry, they're
- 1:16:03Speaker 9: all returning in the next week also despite the writer's strike.
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: So Steve, I have to ask you, has a writer's
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: strike affected you and the things you do outside of
- 1:16:13Speaker 9: this radio show?
- 1:16:14Speaker 7: And do you of course the Judge Show, Oh yeah, Judge, Steve,
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: I would be normally be taping that right now. It's
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: been affected. But when you don't need writers to do
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: your show, it shouldn't be a problem. They don't need
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: writers on the talk show. All they need is producers
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: to have subject matter. The women and the guys on
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: the talk they just talk about it. Sherry is an
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: interview show. You don't need writers. All you need is producers.
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: What's happening is and you have to be aware of this.
- 1:16:49Speaker 7: People who are not writers are losing livelihoods, makeup artists,
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: everybody is losing money, hand over fiscile here and they
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: can't and they can't sustain their families like this. You
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: know the average person lives check to check. Well, it
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: ain't no check. So I support the writers strike, but
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: I also support the people's right to work.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: All right, all right?
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: Coming up at thirty three minutes after the hour, Thank you, Steve,
- 1:17:19Speaker 9: we'll play a round of would you rather?
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening Morning show time for a
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: round of would you rather? Guys? Would you rather a
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: wife that winds a lot? Or would you rather a
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: wife that curses a lot?
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: I prefer a because I already got beat because I
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: know she's struggling with me. I know youngor I deserve
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: to be cussed out.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I know I made you dinner.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: I'd rather that didn't.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Well, you made it a year, so something's working.
- 1:17:58Speaker 7: Steve. Well, I don't know what your choices about, because
- 1:18:01Speaker 7: I was married to a person that would both.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: A N B all the whole damn time.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: So like what like you do both of those together?
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: He would be like, I got I'm sick of your
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: mf E.
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: You black. I wish you go to hell. I don't
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: even know what I'm saying this right here. It seemed
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: to me like you done got on my last be talking.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: I'm so sick of your Okay, all right, so that's
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: both all right?
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Would you rather? Would you?
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Would you?
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: Would you rather?
- 1:18:49Speaker 9: Live in a haunted house or would you rather live
- 1:18:51Speaker 9: in a house full of circus clouds.
- 1:18:56Speaker 12: I'm I'm gonna go with the hunted house. At I
- 1:18:58Speaker 12: could talk back to the guys, them clowns.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: I can't do the clowns. No scared man. I'm in
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: that house with them clowns, having the time of my life. Hey,
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: y'all getting that fat wagon?
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: Come on?
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Why are the grandkids out there?
- 1:19:16Speaker 5: Here?
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: They come, but they don't be scared.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Grandkids will be scared of the clowns. Don't you think
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: it's not?
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: My grandkids ain't scared of no damn clowns.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not the clown from it.
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: What's Yeah, that's what my grandsons, all of them think.
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: They carnage and venom. Hell is they scared of a
- 1:19:38Speaker 7: clown from my grand Please me and mark me sting.
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: I'll be laughing so hard at them.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: Damn kids.
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: They convinced with their little skinny ass that they hero.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: They had little suits on. When they put them suits on,
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: they think that.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: So he had that cap on, jumping off the back
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: of that con found out real fancy. He's gonna fly. Hey,
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: just all you heard India right after that, I'm hollering
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: you wrong for that pop up.
- 1:20:16Speaker 9: All right, would you rather sex at nine a m.
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: Nine a m sharp every day or would you rather
- 1:20:23Speaker 9: sex outside whenever you wanted it?
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Nine good with me? Right in the middle of the
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: radio show, right right after you.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: You're listening morning show.
- 1:20:45Speaker 9: Here we are, guys, our last break of the day
- 1:20:47Speaker 9: on this Monday. You end up weekday, brand new week, Steve.
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: You know my remarks is kind of a little different today.
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: This writer's strike that's going on in Hollywood. The things now,
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: there are people going.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Back to work. The view the talk Drew.
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: Barrymore came out and apologized for going back to work.
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: But I'm starting to understand this as I talk to people.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: I can't tell you how many people have called me
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: because we've all honored the writers' strike. When the actors
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: got involved, that was to honor the writers. Well, it's
- 1:21:33Speaker 7: getting a little tiring for a lot of people, and
- 1:21:35Speaker 7: I'll tell you why, because it's affecting by not having
- 1:21:40Speaker 7: TV and production. It's not just the writers. The writers
- 1:21:44Speaker 7: want more. The rest of these people just want what
- 1:21:46Speaker 7: they was getting. So when you support the writers because
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: the writers want more, because I do understand. They have
- 1:21:52Speaker 7: a very very valid point because they're being used because
- 1:21:56Speaker 7: they're taking their writing skills and content and they put
- 1:21:59Speaker 7: it in contents and they're not getting paid for it,
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: but they're making money on these other formats, and I
- 1:22:05Speaker 7: understand that. So at first it was okay, you know, hey,
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: we jump in there, we support you, But you got
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: to understand. The makeup artists ain't working. The cameraman ain't working,
- 1:22:15Speaker 7: the grips ain't working, the set designers ain't working. The
- 1:22:19Speaker 7: catering companies are not working. The people in charge of
- 1:22:23Speaker 7: lighting and sound ain't working. The engineers ain't working. The
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: cleanup crews with all these contracts to clean up the
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: studios and dressing rooms and makeup trailers, they're not working.
- 1:22:36Speaker 7: And it then got old, and people are suffering, man,
- 1:22:40Speaker 7: The common man is out here suffering. And so some
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: of these shows is going back to work. And I
- 1:22:45Speaker 7: got news for you. It's actors out here hurting. It's
- 1:22:48Speaker 7: people with talk shows that are hurting, man, because they
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: got bills to pay. And now the writers are getting
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: mad at everybody for wanting to go back to work.
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: But here's the problem, though, mister, and I'm sorry to
- 1:23:01Speaker 7: say this, but when you get your new contract and
- 1:23:04Speaker 7: your money, you're not gonna give none to the grips,
- 1:23:09Speaker 7: not gonna give none to the catering company. You're not
- 1:23:13Speaker 7: gonna pass the money on to them actors. You're not
- 1:23:16Speaker 7: gonna give no money to the Sound and Light people.
- 1:23:18Speaker 7: You ain't gonna give no money to the caterers. So
- 1:23:21Speaker 7: we got you want more, We got you being treated unfairly.
- 1:23:24Speaker 7: But somehow, man, y'all got to come back to work
- 1:23:27Speaker 7: and work that out on your own. It seems like
- 1:23:29Speaker 7: it's what a lot of people are starting to say.
- 1:23:32Speaker 6: Now.
- 1:23:32Speaker 7: You might disagree with what I'm saying, but I can't
- 1:23:35Speaker 7: support you and your strike, and your strike causes me
- 1:23:38Speaker 7: to be out of work. And then whatever you negotiate
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: on your contract, I ain't gonna benefit from it, but
- 1:23:43Speaker 7: I'm taking all the hits and losses of it. And
- 1:23:45Speaker 7: that's where people at right now, man, and you got
- 1:23:48Speaker 7: to understand that. So I'm in supporter, Drew Barrymore. I'm
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: support to talk what you think they gonna feel about us. Hey, man,
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: ain't nobody asking you how you feel when you can't
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: pay your bills. You got to allow people to take
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: care of their families, man, and your your strike is
- 1:24:06Speaker 7: costing way more than writers' money. And so there's a
- 1:24:12Speaker 7: crack in the damn right now. And I think a
- 1:24:16Speaker 7: lot of people are going to go back to work, man.
- 1:24:19Speaker 7: And I think a lot of writers want to go
- 1:24:21Speaker 7: back to work because you know this has been months
- 1:24:23Speaker 7: right now, this is months of no income. And you
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: just can't expect the average person to sit out.
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: Man.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: I know people, you can't miss a check.
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: Now.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: You talk about months, it done got old, It done
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: got old.
- 1:24:40Speaker 7: Now that auto workers want to strike, but you know
- 1:24:43Speaker 7: the CEOs at the auto companies, man, the UAW is
- 1:24:47Speaker 7: a great organization, man.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: I was a member of ua W.
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: That's the one I always identify with my time at
- 1:24:54Speaker 7: brook Park Engine Plant out in foot Park, Ohio, outside
- 1:24:57Speaker 7: of Cleveland. And look, man, when the executives who get
- 1:25:02Speaker 7: these big bonuses and raises, and you look at all
- 1:25:05Speaker 7: these executive salaries and they getting them during this time
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: right here. But then you're telling these auto workers you
- 1:25:11Speaker 7: can't get a raise. Do you know the problem that creates?
- 1:25:14Speaker 7: And then your statement as an executive is if we
- 1:25:17Speaker 7: give those auto workers the raise they're asking for, they
- 1:25:20Speaker 7: will bankrupt us. Well, that ain't what you said when
- 1:25:24Speaker 7: you gave the executives they raised and we ain't talking
- 1:25:27Speaker 7: about we're talking about millions. We're talking about one person
- 1:25:31Speaker 7: getting millions in bonus checks, one person making tens of
- 1:25:37Speaker 7: millions of dollars. Nah, you got the guide. The auto
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: planter's making sixty seventy eighty, whatever that number is, and
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: they want more, but you're telling them they can't get more.
- 1:25:49Speaker 7: But you keep giving the executive more, and this public
- 1:25:52Speaker 7: record what they're getting. And now these cats is going, hey,
- 1:25:54Speaker 7: what about us. The UAW has a very very valid point,
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: but they also know the Now let me tell you
- 1:26:01Speaker 7: how rich people work. Rich people know that they have
- 1:26:05Speaker 7: enough in reserve to starve you back to work, and
- 1:26:09Speaker 7: that's what they do.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: All you gotta do is look at the picket lines. Man.
- 1:26:12Speaker 7: In the beginning, whether it's the teacher strike or whether
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: it's the United all the workers strike. In the beginning,
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: the lines is full of picketers. Thirty days later, two
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: three people out there. They trying to get on the
- 1:26:25Speaker 7: schedule to see who gonna show up. Then they got
- 1:26:28Speaker 7: to call you here, it was your day to picket.
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: You didn't come and they just just eventually weigh you down. Well,
- 1:26:34Speaker 7: all these strikes is wearing people down. I'm supporting the
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: UAW man, they valid, they got real valid point. I
- 1:26:40Speaker 7: support the teachers when they go on strike because they
- 1:26:42Speaker 7: show they already underpaid. They just they there's the worst
- 1:26:47Speaker 7: I've ever seen of anybody but the writers in Hollywood. Man.
- 1:26:51Speaker 7: I understand where y'all at, and you have a very
- 1:26:54Speaker 7: very valid point. But you got to find a way
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: to get to work and still make them talk to
- 1:26:58Speaker 7: you because there's a lot of people suffer because of
- 1:27:00Speaker 7: this strike and they have to go back to work
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: because they have families to feed. They got kids in school,
- 1:27:07Speaker 7: so that's it. Were all affected by it pretty much
- 1:27:11Speaker 7: at the point where enough's enough right now. So those
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: are my clothing remoments. Ain't got nothing to do with
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: the most people out of here except y'all. Hang in
- 1:27:18Speaker 7: there and keep the faith in God. God loves you, man,
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: God will protect you from all your enemies. Remember that
- 1:27:24Speaker 7: talk to God that they love to hear from.
