- 0:27Speaker 1: hand Please hobby, I don't join by join me. You
- 0:52Speaker 1: go with me. You gotta turning you you gotta turn
- 1:40Speaker 1: to turn them out. Turn you haven't got to turn
- 1:44Speaker 1: them out. Then turn the water the water go. Come
- 1:57Speaker 1: come on your bad huh, I show we off. Hey,
- 2:03Speaker 1: good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 1: radio show. I've been saying it like that since I
- 2:13Speaker 1: got it too. All right, I gotta go one for
- 2:17Speaker 1: you today. Yesterday the other day, I was talking to
- 2:19Speaker 1: you about the most effective weapon available to us as
- 2:23Speaker 1: human beings. I think is prayer. I think prayer helps
- 2:27Speaker 1: us in so many ways. But right now what I
- 2:30Speaker 1: want to do is I want to show you how
- 2:33Speaker 1: prayer pays off. I want I want to show you
- 2:36Speaker 1: what good it can do for you. Even me, I
- 2:38Speaker 1: use it every day, and and the days I don't
- 2:42Speaker 1: use it, I feel it that that you know the
- 2:45Speaker 1: days that I go, you know, without talking to him
- 2:48Speaker 1: as much, I notice it, I feel it, I feel
- 2:50Speaker 1: a certain kind of way. You know, those are those
- 2:54Speaker 1: that doubt starts slipping in again, that uneasy feeling of
- 2:57Speaker 1: uncertainty slips in again, that wondering what I'm gonna do
- 3:01Speaker 1: start slipping in again. Happens to me, It happens everybody. Man,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I think, I really, really do you know, if people
- 3:07Speaker 1: would just keep it real with each other, stop being
- 3:11Speaker 1: this Christian, this superman, because you ain't you ain't. There's
- 3:16Speaker 1: a scripture that says that's none perfect, no not one.
- 3:21Speaker 1: That's everybody that covered all of us don't. So sometimes
- 3:26Speaker 1: I think we're a little too hard on each other
- 3:29Speaker 1: with that too, Seeing it's how we're not perfect. We
- 3:32Speaker 1: immediately want to just just oh man, you just want
- 3:36Speaker 1: to kill when we find somebody do something wrong. But
- 3:38Speaker 1: if you go public, everything go public now called social media.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But anyway, I just want to talk to you about
- 3:45Speaker 1: how prayer pays off. It's called all eye and money.
- 3:50Speaker 1: People got money, call it all eyes. A return on investment.
- 3:54Speaker 1: People are always looking for a return on investment. You know, nobody,
- 3:57Speaker 1: nobody in business really gives you money without understanding the
- 4:01Speaker 1: return on investment. They don't even give money to charities
- 4:05Speaker 1: unless they think it can do something with the bottom line.
- 4:08Speaker 1: A lot of companies work like that. I found out
- 4:11Speaker 1: out myself. Sad, but it is true. So since everything
- 4:16Speaker 1: is expected to work on a return on investment as
- 4:18Speaker 1: soon because we're human beings. So since we're all human beings,
- 4:21Speaker 1: whether you're in business or not, you're still in the
- 4:26Speaker 1: business of living. I think when you pray, you should
- 4:31Speaker 1: expect a return on your investment. You talk to him,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you spent time opening it up to him, you bowed
- 4:39Speaker 1: your head to him, you humbled yourself, you got on
- 4:43Speaker 1: your knees. I mean, but really we're talking God here,
- 4:46Speaker 1: So really, what you're doing ain't really about nothing. Be
- 4:49Speaker 1: honest with You're a little bit that you do do
- 4:51Speaker 1: on his behalf. It just pales in comparison with what
- 4:55Speaker 1: he does. But let's just say you want to call
- 4:58Speaker 1: yourself invested, Well, let me show you how it pays off.
- 5:02Speaker 1: This because for me, this is for me now, prayer
- 5:05Speaker 1: pays off in different ways. That's what I had to learn. See,
- 5:09Speaker 1: I was praying, but I was asking him specifically for
- 5:12Speaker 1: what I wanted. I had the audacity, though, to turn
- 5:16Speaker 1: around and tell him how to do what I wanted.
- 5:19Speaker 1: That's amazing. Man. I can't tell you how many blessings
- 5:22Speaker 1: I blocked coming my way by putting my faith in
- 5:25Speaker 1: what I said I wanted and how I wanted him
- 5:28Speaker 1: to do it. I want you to give me this.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I want that person to go away. I want this
- 5:35Speaker 1: person to accept everything you say. Then I want to
- 5:38Speaker 1: go over here and I want this deal to happen
- 5:40Speaker 1: like this, and I want that person to just step
- 5:43Speaker 1: aside and let let me through. And then I wanted
- 5:46Speaker 1: I was. I hadn't mapped out. God must have been
- 5:50Speaker 1: chuckling really hard. He hadn't been going. Boy, I made
- 5:53Speaker 1: you to be funny. But boy, you're funny now. So
- 5:55Speaker 1: you're gonna tell me how to do it. And you've
- 5:57Speaker 1: all heard this right here. If you want to make
- 5:59Speaker 1: God telling me your plan, well that's what I did.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And that's how we pray a lot of times we pray,
- 6:06Speaker 1: and we pray in the prayer with telling him how
- 6:08Speaker 1: to work it out. Well, here's the deal. This is
- 6:12Speaker 1: what I've learned. Prayer pays off in different ways. There's
- 6:16Speaker 1: a different return of my investment when I pray. See,
- 6:20Speaker 1: sometimes when I'm praying for something, a situation to dissolve
- 6:25Speaker 1: itself or go away, sometimes I get courage out of
- 6:29Speaker 1: the prayer. Prayer provides me courage that's just to go
- 6:35Speaker 1: on and look at it. I guess face it. Then.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Sometimes when I'm praying about a situation, sometimes prayer gives
- 6:45Speaker 1: me hanging power. Sometimes, man, it just I look up
- 6:49Speaker 1: and I'm just handling it better. Sometimes prayer gives you
- 6:54Speaker 1: laugh at off power. Sometimes, man, you just got to
- 6:58Speaker 1: laugh at off whatever. Man, you trip it? Do you
- 7:05Speaker 1: know what that is? If you could do that, you know.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Sometimes it it gives you a show of strength power.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Sometimes prayer allows you to have the appearance that you
- 7:17Speaker 1: got it all together. Nobody got to know the world.
- 7:21Speaker 1: When the tornado, the hurricane that's swirling in your life,
- 7:25Speaker 1: you're standing over that like the eye the hurricane you
- 7:28Speaker 1: and it's all swirling around you. But you standing that
- 7:31Speaker 1: like the eye, you just as calm. That's what prayer does.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So when you pray, man, it builds up a lot
- 7:38Speaker 1: of things in you. You know what it's done for me.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Prayer has built up character in me. It's made me
- 7:44Speaker 1: have more character because I'm able to stand stronger on
- 7:48Speaker 1: the things I say. Because I've been praying, because I've
- 7:52Speaker 1: been asking God for all of those return of investments.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I've been asking God for courage. I've been asking God
- 7:58Speaker 1: for hanging that. I've been asking him to give me
- 8:01Speaker 1: the power to walk away. I've asked him to give
- 8:04Speaker 1: me ignored power. I've asked to help me laugh it off.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I've asked him to show me strength. But you know
- 8:09Speaker 1: what I was doing, I was really praying, not really
- 8:12Speaker 1: for them things be real with you. I was asking
- 8:14Speaker 1: them to help me, Lord, help me. You ever done that?
- 8:17Speaker 1: You ever asked God for help? And then all of
- 8:19Speaker 1: a sudden, the list of these things show up. See,
- 8:22Speaker 1: sometimes how you want the problem to be solved ain't
- 8:25Speaker 1: the best way. There's a lesson to be learned when
- 8:28Speaker 1: we make mistakes. And sometimes you got to stay in
- 8:30Speaker 1: that fire and you got to learn that lesson. But
- 8:33Speaker 1: guess what, though, when you come out of it, you're
- 8:36Speaker 1: gonna be better for it. You're gonna know more about it.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Come on, y'all, pray. He's solid, His word is true,
- 8:42Speaker 1: it lasts forever. He do what he's say gonna do
- 8:45Speaker 1: now all day, all night twenty four seven. He do
- 8:50Speaker 1: it all day, all night, and then some more. His
- 8:53Speaker 1: word don't ever change. It's true. It works for me.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It worked for you. It worked for Jake's It worked
- 9:00Speaker 1: for Old Steam, It worked for Kirk Franklin. It worked
- 9:03Speaker 1: for Paula White, It worked for Billy Graham. It worked
- 9:07Speaker 1: for Mother Teresa, It worked for Gandhi, It worked for
- 9:11Speaker 1: the Princess Arabs. It worked man, it worked for you.
- 9:17Speaker 1: What you're waiting for? Why don't you put praying your game?
- 9:21Speaker 1: Watch what happened to you? You're sitting in that jail, Celle,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and you're struggling with it, and they're telling you bloody
- 9:26Speaker 1: and blood out, you can't get in you. That's foolishness, man,
- 9:30Speaker 1: What you mean God can get you out of anything. Look, man,
- 9:33Speaker 1: if you didn't read your Bible, he didn't got some
- 9:35Speaker 1: people out of some sticky situations. I don't know what
- 9:37Speaker 1: you're talking about. If Daniel was in the lions den
- 9:40Speaker 1: and Jonah was in the belly of the whale, what
- 9:42Speaker 1: you're talking about? Where you are you just sitting in
- 9:43Speaker 1: the sale with some dudes round and you're talking about
- 9:45Speaker 1: what they gonna do man, you gotta be real. God,
- 9:48Speaker 1: it can't nothing to do nothing. Nobody can't nobody do
- 9:51Speaker 1: nothing to you. God won't give you to strift to handle.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Prayer changes things. Man, you're listening show, ladies and gentlemen

- 13:28Speaker 1: Like your strategy, Steve, I like it well. Coming up
- 13:33Speaker 1: at thirty two minutes after the hour, we're gonna talk
- 13:36Speaker 1: about some Valentine's Day rules. Okay, do that right after
- 13:41Speaker 1: this because you're listening too. Listen, guys. Coming up at
- 13:48Speaker 1: the top of the hour, our special guest will be
- 13:50Speaker 1: executive producer Will Packer. I think we all know him,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you nephew. Uh. Will Packer is gonna tell us about
- 13:59Speaker 1: it's a new movie. This looks so good. The photograph
- 14:02Speaker 1: starring Isa Ray. It is in theaters today. But as
- 14:06Speaker 1: we all know, as we move on, today's Valentine's Day,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and the guys, mainly Tommy, it's gonna run down Valentine's
- 14:15Speaker 1: Day rules because what there's rules to this, right, let's go.
- 14:19Speaker 1: You know the rules, pretty Tony, your girl chose me.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You know the rules. You got those rules. These are
- 14:29Speaker 1: just these are Valentine's rules. Call it. These are things
- 14:33Speaker 1: that brothers need to know. That's out there. Brothers like myself,
- 14:37Speaker 1: you know that's that's that's you know, brothers like me.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You know things you need to know. Can I yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 1: well no, just you know, just need a little Valentine knowledge,
- 14:48Speaker 1: Uncle Steve. All right here can I start? Yea? All ready? Yeah,
- 14:51Speaker 1: all right? But everybody get the same perfume. Okay, you
- 14:57Speaker 1: got more than one. They all get the same. If
- 15:00Speaker 1: now they're older, then they get white diamonds. That's how
- 15:03Speaker 1: you do that. That's how you do that. It's the
- 15:05Speaker 1: way you work this side of fellas. You gotta you
- 15:07Speaker 1: got it. You got some old school ladies. Cool, they
- 15:10Speaker 1: all get white diamonds. They're happy with that. You got
- 15:12Speaker 1: some forty and low forty and low whatever it is,
- 15:16Speaker 1: same perfume. You ain't got to be going on. Let
- 15:19Speaker 1: me get this one, this one, this one. No, Now
- 15:21Speaker 1: you can you confuse you don't know what you got.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Somebody get the same thing. You know how to answer? Okay,
- 15:27Speaker 1: all right, tim, I just trying to show y'all. I'm
- 15:29Speaker 1: teaching you how this go. These are Valentine rule like
- 15:33Speaker 1: big teddy balls should be delivered, not left in the car. Okay,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you don't do that. Okay, it's hard to explain three
- 15:42Speaker 1: teddy balls in the backseat. You can't explaiting that. You've
- 15:46Speaker 1: got to get them out of that car. Okay, I'm
- 15:49Speaker 1: gonna tell you this. In the case you let's just
- 15:51Speaker 1: say you went by somewhere, they weren't there. You couldn't
- 15:53Speaker 1: get the teddy bad to him, throw it out the window.
- 15:55Speaker 1: You can't take this home, yea, yeah, you can't take
- 15:58Speaker 1: this half law stomach. Okay, don't worry about that. Eight it. Yeah,
- 16:06Speaker 1: all right now listen, listen, this right here is crucial.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Don't get your white side piece the same gift as
- 16:14Speaker 1: your black side peace them two different gifts. What yes,
- 16:19Speaker 1: what is that? Don't get it? What do you mean,
- 16:22Speaker 1: you can't. You can't get them the same thing. There's
- 16:24Speaker 1: two different gifts there. It's hard to explain, but it's
- 16:26Speaker 1: just it's two different things. Okay, I can't. I can't.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You don't. You don't want to mix them up now
- 16:31Speaker 1: because you might get a sister, you might get her
- 16:33Speaker 1: something that's that sister ish and then the white girl
- 16:36Speaker 1: to get it mixed up. Then you know it's confusing.
- 16:39Speaker 1: You can't do that, sister. Can I give you an example, Tommy,
- 16:42Speaker 1: Go ahead, Like if you give them pie as one
- 16:46Speaker 1: of their gifts, you want to get the sister gets
- 16:49Speaker 1: sweepertato pie and white girl get punkin pie. Need to
- 16:55Speaker 1: know that, Yeah, you can't. Black girl get the sweeper
- 17:01Speaker 1: tated pie, White girl get the pumpkin pot. Go ahead, Tommy,
- 17:06Speaker 1: All right, here's another fellas here. All of your flowers
- 17:10Speaker 1: from different floral shops. You can't aller them from the
- 17:14Speaker 1: same place. That's an easy mix up right there, because
- 17:18Speaker 1: we guess what. You know what you're doing. You're leaving
- 17:19Speaker 1: a little note, you're leaving something cute, You're leaving maybe
- 17:22Speaker 1: your little nickname on it. Okay, got that, But guess
- 17:25Speaker 1: what you can't depend on the floral to make sure
- 17:28Speaker 1: it's right, so you might send something. Guess what now
- 17:31Speaker 1: you never send and when they when they open it,
- 17:33Speaker 1: here go your nickname Hoppo? Who is Hoppo? I don't know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I don't know. That's your little nickname. Screwing it up.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Let me help him out with that time. Get all
- 17:48Speaker 1: your sending all your flowers from one eight hundred flowers.
- 17:53Speaker 1: That way, you ain't got to wear about nothing cause
- 17:57Speaker 1: they don't make no mistakes. Go ahead, that's okay, okay, okay,
- 18:01Speaker 1: here we go on, here we go. When you send
- 18:04Speaker 1: it out a happy Valentine's text, don't send a group text,
- 18:10Speaker 1: dumb ass. Okay, let me tell you something, fella fella me, missflaw.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I want to explain something to you somebody, but I
- 18:18Speaker 1: try to they gonna do it, junior. I try to
- 18:20Speaker 1: explain this to a lot of my fellow Listen. The
- 18:22Speaker 1: most dangerous dangerous word on your cell phone it's sin.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It is the most dangerous thing. It's the trust me
- 18:33Speaker 1: you you want to avoid sin at all times. Look
- 18:36Speaker 1: at what you're looking at first check because if you
- 18:39Speaker 1: send a group text, huh yeah, that's a bit right there.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Sin the most dangerous work on your cell phone is
- 18:47Speaker 1: it's sin, that's an You can't take it back, baby,
- 18:52Speaker 1: you can't take it back. The fellas listen to him
- 18:55Speaker 1: because y'all make this mistake a lot. Everybody's nickname it's Booth. Listen,
- 19:02Speaker 1: Hey Boo, hey boom boom boom boo. That's you. Hey
- 19:05Speaker 1: boo boo. I thought that was you. Oh luka boo

- 19:37Speaker 1: to figure it out. You don't have to really go
- 19:39Speaker 1: with the real diamonds. Okay, you don't have to do that,
- 19:43Speaker 1: all right, Listen, listen. They will love Kubic Zaconian in
- 19:47Speaker 1: a Tiffnit box or bad. You could do this. All
- 19:51Speaker 1: you need is a hook up at the Tiffnit stove
- 19:53Speaker 1: to get the box you want to. You want that
- 19:56Speaker 1: blue box. Get that box, Hi, then put your cubics

- 20:48Speaker 1: Day rules. Uh. Coming up after this, more nephew, more
- 20:52Speaker 1: ignorance would run that prank back. Right after this, you're
- 20:56Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up at the
- 21:00Speaker 1: top of the hour, executive producer Will Packer will be
- 21:03Speaker 1: here to tell us about his brand new movie. Oh
- 21:07Speaker 1: this is a black Love Story for the ages, right here.
- 21:10Speaker 1: It's called the photograph. It starts ray and that's at
- 21:14Speaker 1: the top of the hour. But right now today's Valentine's Day.
- 21:17Speaker 1: We know that, But right now it is time for
- 21:19Speaker 1: the nephew to run that prank. Back what you got
- 21:21Speaker 1: for us? Nap uh, surely I have Valentine's gift card.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Valentine's gift card, that sounds saying. And I still got

- 21:50Speaker 1: this right here. Valentine Gift card. Hello, Hello, I'm trying
- 21:55Speaker 1: to reach Bryce. Yeah, hey Brent, So how are you doing? Man?

- 22:14Speaker 1: sure I got the right person, man, because you, um,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you have black half white, right from what I understand, Yeah,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna have black Who who the presidents? Why? Why
- 22:23Speaker 1: are you asking me questions? What's going on? Okay? No, no, no,

- 22:31Speaker 1: this out, man. Listen, I'm at work, man, say what
- 22:34Speaker 1: you need to say. What's happening? Okay, listen, I actually
- 22:37Speaker 1: dentally I sent I sent Tricia some flowers for Valentine's
- 22:41Speaker 1: They're gonna get there on Friday. But I accidentally put
- 22:44Speaker 1: a you know, I ordered the gift card along with it,
- 22:48Speaker 1: and they put this gift card in Tricia's gift bag.
- 22:52Speaker 1: And really that's that gift card should really be for
- 22:54Speaker 1: my wife, and I was trying to see it. Maybe
- 22:57Speaker 1: if you get to the gift bag before, maybe you
- 22:59Speaker 1: could get it out from mean, so I could get
- 23:01Speaker 1: that gift card. Oh okay, So you said, uh, you
- 23:05Speaker 1: said my wife flowers for Valentine's Day, right, saying yeah, yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 1: But that's not the key. The key is that it's
- 23:11Speaker 1: a gift card in there that I need. You know,
- 23:14Speaker 1: that's accidentally sent a gift card and my wife. You
- 23:17Speaker 1: just want the flowers to go to her? Is that
- 23:19Speaker 1: what you're saying? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I said the
- 23:21Speaker 1: flowers man, Yeah, no problem, no, yeah, no, that's cool man.
- 23:26Speaker 1: This happens. Then we make mistakes all the time. How
- 23:29Speaker 1: about this? How about you come on over and I
- 23:31Speaker 1: will be more than happy to give you the gift
- 23:33Speaker 1: card because I'm sure you know if you said it
- 23:35Speaker 1: with the flowers all I'll just have to handle those.
- 23:38Speaker 1: That's a gift card over to you and and probably
- 23:40Speaker 1: a nice uh speed until you stupid mother? Why enough
- 23:45Speaker 1: would you ever call me about this? Hey? Man? And
- 23:48Speaker 1: I didn't expect I didn't expect all this avin it
- 23:50Speaker 1: out hostility. Hey bro, all I'm trying to do with
- 23:55Speaker 1: Like I said, I said, I ain't your bro. What
- 23:58Speaker 1: do you mean you're doing? You didn't think this met?
- 24:00Speaker 1: You send my good a white flowers? Mother? But how
- 24:03Speaker 1: do you even know my wife? How do you know Tresh?
- 24:05Speaker 1: How do you know Tresh? I work in I work
- 24:07Speaker 1: in the building with that Trish works in. How you
- 24:09Speaker 1: work with her? Okay? Good? Are you? I don't work
- 24:11Speaker 1: I don't work with her. I don't work for her
- 24:12Speaker 1: company at all. But my my, you know, my floor
- 24:15Speaker 1: is on a different floor. I work in a different company,
- 24:16Speaker 1: but she works she works in the same building. So yeah, dude,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get the guilt card. Man. I
- 24:22Speaker 1: ain't even trying to trip dude, I ain't. So let me. So,
- 24:26Speaker 1: you sent some flowers. When the flower's gonna be here?

- 24:41Speaker 1: flowers the trish and I will give you the gift cards.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And you mentioned if I was half black or half white,
- 24:47Speaker 1: and I'll go ahead and let you know that both
- 24:50Speaker 1: sides are gonna beat your mother because you're trying to
- 24:52Speaker 1: be the most ignorant mother I've ever met in my guy, Mike,
- 24:56Speaker 1: I don't care if you're green, blue, yellow, lavender. I
- 24:59Speaker 1: don't know what what the you are, but you are
- 25:01Speaker 1: the dumbest piece of sh I've ever met. You come
- 25:03Speaker 1: here Friday. You come here, and you get your wife
- 25:05Speaker 1: will get her great gift card, and my wife will
- 25:08Speaker 1: get your flowers and everybody's gonna be happy. Hey, dude,
- 25:11Speaker 1: what's what's all that's about? Man? Okay? So have you
- 25:14Speaker 1: gone out with trans? Say you guys wanting for lunch
- 25:16Speaker 1: or you know, maybe a movie or I mean, how much?
- 25:19Speaker 1: How much time have you spent with my wife? I ain't.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I ain't. I ain't spend no time with her. Why
- 25:25Speaker 1: are you said hering that? What do you mean you
- 25:26Speaker 1: ain't spend no time with it? How you you seem
- 25:28Speaker 1: to know all about her? And you haven't gone out
- 25:30Speaker 1: one time with my wife? No? I never went out
- 25:33Speaker 1: with her. So you just have a crush on my
- 25:35Speaker 1: wife's Is that what you're trying to saying? You just
- 25:37Speaker 1: act only sent some your bulls to her? Is that

- 25:48Speaker 1: I didn't want her to have my wife's gift card? Though,
- 25:51Speaker 1: What did you think I was gonna be there? How

- 26:03Speaker 1: Can you send it back to me? How would you
- 26:05Speaker 1: feel if I did the same to you? Well, I
- 26:07Speaker 1: mean you're talking about something different from flowers and that
- 26:10Speaker 1: same That sounds like a little bit offensive. Don't you think?
- 26:13Speaker 1: Oh oh that's defensive? Yeah? Man, you know, I'm sorry.

- 29:53Speaker 1: perfect for Valentine's weekend. Please welcome to the show, super
- 29:58Speaker 1: duper producer, the one and only will pack them him, y'all, Tommy,

- 30:42Speaker 1: doing a damn show. I said, I can't lose top me.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I was bluffing Will Will. I was bluffing you did it.
- 30:50Speaker 1: You didn't raid enough? You did. Tommy ain't crazy. Tommy
- 30:59Speaker 1: would have done Ready to Love Mississippi. Den He got it. Yeah, man,
- 31:07Speaker 1: I appreciate your Hey, man. Let's talk about this man.
- 31:10Speaker 1: This movie, the photograph. It's in theaters today. Shelly is
- 31:15Speaker 1: already a black love story, Steve, who I just got it.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I got to hear about it. It's in theaters today.
- 31:23Speaker 1: It's a steaming love story starring Esa Ray yep, yeah
- 31:28Speaker 1: and uh Mkeith MTh tell us a yes, yeah, you
- 31:35Speaker 1: know who the chief is? Right, you know Atlanta? Yes
- 31:38Speaker 1: and knives out and uncut Jim. Here's the thing it
- 31:42Speaker 1: this is a beautiful black love so or y'all serious, like,
- 31:46Speaker 1: this is a story that we do not see enough of.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I'm talking about you, and it's not it's not it's
- 31:54Speaker 1: not a wrong com and it's not a story about trauma.
- 31:57Speaker 1: It's not about pain and and you know, overcoming death.
- 32:01Speaker 1: It's truly a love story. It is night screen looking good,
- 32:07Speaker 1: interacting the way that we see some mother folks too,
- 32:10Speaker 1: but we don't get to see us like that. So
- 32:12Speaker 1: it's it's a new genre for me. I'm so excited
- 32:15Speaker 1: about it. This brother mcketh has got amazing range. You've
- 32:17Speaker 1: seen him another stuff. Wait do you see him? And
- 32:19Speaker 1: this y'all know Easter from Insecure, second movie with her
- 32:23Speaker 1: and by the way the whole past is amazing. Everybody's
- 32:27Speaker 1: a little real Shanque Adams. I got a lot of
- 32:29Speaker 1: folks get it, don't recognize it. No, we got what
- 32:32Speaker 1: we call parallel narratives in this right. And it's the
- 32:35Speaker 1: story of a mother and a daughter both falling in
- 32:38Speaker 1: love together in different time periods. It's a really smart,
- 32:42Speaker 1: well put together movie. Man, I can't wait for y'all
- 32:45Speaker 1: the season. Wow, I can't wait to see it. So
- 32:49Speaker 1: what made you step off in this direction? Because this
- 32:52Speaker 1: is not normal what you do? I love Love Chump.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I'm not gonna like Love Love as all movies that
- 33:03Speaker 1: I love, and we haven't had enough of those. Steve
- 33:07Speaker 1: and I have been looking for a script for a
- 33:09Speaker 1: while that was on par and on the level of those,
- 33:12Speaker 1: And this SI name Ellamickey. I got a black female
- 33:16Speaker 1: writer director. She came in brought us an amazing script
- 33:20Speaker 1: for this love story and I said, I'm all the
- 33:23Speaker 1: way in I went, you know me, Steve, I went out,
- 33:25Speaker 1: got universe, got the tech cut and said we gotta
- 33:27Speaker 1: go out and get the best cast possible. And I
- 33:30Speaker 1: left this sister and this is you know, her third
- 33:32Speaker 1: or fourth film. She hasn't done. You know a lot
- 33:34Speaker 1: of stuff. She's relatively new, but she did in a
- 33:37Speaker 1: beautiful job with this movie. She really did. It's something
- 33:39Speaker 1: I've been wanting to for a while. I just needed
- 33:41Speaker 1: to write script and I finally got my hands on.
- 33:44Speaker 1: So let me ask you this. It wouldn't give away
- 33:46Speaker 1: too much if I asked you why is the movie
- 33:49Speaker 1: called the Photograph. No, it won't. And I'm glad you
- 33:52Speaker 1: asked that. And I can't tell you everything, but here's
- 33:54Speaker 1: what I would say. The connection is around a series
- 33:59Speaker 1: of photographs apps. Because the mother, Issa Ray, and her
- 34:03Speaker 1: mother did not have an amazing relationship like a lot
- 34:06Speaker 1: of black women heard. Her mom can't get alone. They
- 34:09Speaker 1: had a strange relationship, I can tell you that. And
- 34:13Speaker 1: she gets to know her mom through a series of
- 34:15Speaker 1: letters that her mom wrote her and a series of photographs.
- 34:19Speaker 1: And there's one particular photograph which means something very sentimental
- 34:24Speaker 1: and it is very symbolic in the movie. So the
- 34:27Speaker 1: title of the movie is a symbolic title. But it
- 34:30Speaker 1: is also about how pictures tell our life story, how
- 34:34Speaker 1: we remember and tell our stories in pictures. We did
- 34:39Speaker 1: back in the day, and of course we do now.
- 34:41Speaker 1: We don't know about social media, Instagram and all that,
- 34:44Speaker 1: but even back in the day with Polaroid, so much
- 34:47Speaker 1: of our most important moments were captured by photos. And
- 34:50Speaker 1: so there is a photograph that connects these two women
- 34:54Speaker 1: as a mother and daughter who are both falling in
- 34:56Speaker 1: love and learning to love themselves, learning to love of
- 35:00Speaker 1: each other and learning to love the men in their lives. Okay, so, folks,
- 35:04Speaker 1: the movie is here. The super producer Will Packer has
- 35:08Speaker 1: now got the hot movie that's out this Valentine's weekend. Fellas,
- 35:13Speaker 1: get your tickets since gonna be good. Get you girls, ladies,
- 35:17Speaker 1: get a gang of y'all going group. This is roll
- 35:20Speaker 1: Trip Country. Get your tickets to go see the photograph.
- 35:26Speaker 1: It's in theaters now. Make sure y'all ticket has photograph owner.
- 35:31Speaker 1: If they give you anything, get it back and demand
- 35:34Speaker 1: a ticket. Will pack Philip the theater man appreciated. Always
- 35:42Speaker 1: comes from y'all. Always. I love y'all. I love y'all.
- 35:45Speaker 1: For that, We're gonna show howyood suf begin y'all ladies
- 35:48Speaker 1: and gentlemen, Will Packer thing Yeah. Coming up in twenty
- 35:53Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, Gospel singer extraordinary Isaac Cree we'll
- 35:57Speaker 1: be right here right after this listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hey,
- 36:03Speaker 1: y'all as problems. We got our special guests on the phone.
- 36:07Speaker 1: He's a gospel music since say he's a family member too.
- 36:11Speaker 1: This is how he won. He won ours right here.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I first met him out on tour with Kirk Franklin Man.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Since then, this dude right here to messed around, became
- 36:21Speaker 1: a household name in the gospel world, putting out a
- 36:24Speaker 1: strang of great gospel hits. He's joining us today to
- 36:28Speaker 1: tell us about his new single call Her and his
- 36:31Speaker 1: upcoming new album, Ladies and General. Please welcome to the show,
- 36:35Speaker 1: my man, Isaac Cree. That's my thank y'all, Morning morning.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna happy to be home where you being like
- 36:47Speaker 1: Israel or something. You know. I haven't had an album
- 36:52Speaker 1: out him seven years. Huh. I took a huge break.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I'm on a huge hiatus, man. I went on tour
- 37:01Speaker 1: with Pump, I did a bad Boy tour, then I
- 37:03Speaker 1: went on tour with timber Groan safety Or did a
- 37:05Speaker 1: country tour for two years, and then I decided to
- 37:08Speaker 1: just start back doing it. I was just in a
- 37:11Speaker 1: place where I need to take a break. I felt
- 37:13Speaker 1: like my place in gospel was becoming stagnant, and I
- 37:17Speaker 1: need to just switch some things up, shake some things up,
- 37:20Speaker 1: and get some new experience and get some different energy.
- 37:23Speaker 1: And now I'm back with new music. So I'm happy
- 37:25Speaker 1: to be back where you shook him up with this
- 37:27Speaker 1: one from right here. This is my kind of cut
- 37:32Speaker 1: right This new single is called Her. It's a perfect
- 37:38Speaker 1: song for the day is Valentine's Day. It's a love
- 37:41Speaker 1: song to your wife. Man, tell us about your song,
- 37:44Speaker 1: because I think. I don't think since I've been listening
- 37:47Speaker 1: to gospel music and I ain't no gospel music expert,
- 37:50Speaker 1: but I don't know if I've heard anybody write a
- 37:54Speaker 1: gospel song until the wife, yeah that I know all
- 38:00Speaker 1: I haven't. I haven't either. Uh, it's it's it's it's
- 38:03Speaker 1: it's either. I'm sorry, I haven't either. I know you
- 38:08Speaker 1: ain't correcting. Nobody talking on this show. We don't talk problem.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I have an either either. You can't say either. I

- 55:16Speaker 1: here it is thank you, nephew. Subject she needs a shot,
- 55:20Speaker 1: but not by cupid. Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm a married
- 55:24Speaker 1: man and I work a few part time jobs. I
- 55:27Speaker 1: make really good money, so my line of work has
- 55:29Speaker 1: never been an issue in my marriage. I work as
- 55:32Speaker 1: a modern day jiggalow, and I mostly get paid to
- 55:36Speaker 1: entertain women at corporate events, dinners, and family functions. I
- 55:40Speaker 1: also have a few older ladies to call me if
- 55:43Speaker 1: they need a tune up, if you know what I mean.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I get paid well for that, but I don't do
- 55:49Speaker 1: it often. My wife doesn't know about that part of
- 55:52Speaker 1: my job. I always use protection with the other women
- 55:56Speaker 1: because I have a wife at home. My wife and
- 55:59Speaker 1: I do not use protection when we have sex, and
- 56:02Speaker 1: we have a very active sex life. I never in
- 56:06Speaker 1: a million years would think my wife would cheat on me.
- 56:09Speaker 1: But now I have a problem, and I think my
- 56:12Speaker 1: wife is the cause of it. I woke up Sunday
- 56:15Speaker 1: morning with an itching and a burning sensation in my underwear.
- 56:21Speaker 1: My wife saw I was uncomfortable and suggested that I
- 56:24Speaker 1: go by my doctor's office this week. I constantly visit
- 56:28Speaker 1: my doctor to get free condoms, and he knows what
- 56:31Speaker 1: I do for a living, so it was no problem
- 56:34Speaker 1: for him to see me right away. Monday, I went
- 56:37Speaker 1: and did a yearine test, and a few minutes later
- 56:40Speaker 1: I found out that I have a sexually transmitted infection
- 56:44Speaker 1: or an STI. I got a shot in my butt
- 56:48Speaker 1: and went straight home to talk to my wife. When
- 56:51Speaker 1: I got home, all of my courage was gone, and
- 56:54Speaker 1: I was scared to bring it up. What if she's
- 56:57Speaker 1: cheating on me and her sideman is not using protection.
- 57:01Speaker 1: I haven't had unprotected sex with anyone else but her.
- 57:06Speaker 1: She needs to take her nasty but to the doctor
- 57:08Speaker 1: and get a shot. Now my Valentine's day and night
- 57:11Speaker 1: are ruined by itching and burning. How should I bring
- 57:15Speaker 1: up the subject? Yeah, yeah, you heard it. You heard it,
- 57:23Speaker 1: You heard it. You know. I gotta say this to you, though, Boy,
- 57:28Speaker 1: aren't you one to point the finger? Yeah? You were real,
- 57:32Speaker 1: real quick to blame your wife on this, But come
- 57:36Speaker 1: to think of it, she was. She was very very
- 57:39Speaker 1: calm about it, wasn't she. I am surprised, with all
- 57:43Speaker 1: your doctor visits, all that stuff, that your doctor didn't
- 57:46Speaker 1: catch this Because the truth of the matter is you
- 57:49Speaker 1: can catch STIs while using condoms. You said, he knows
- 57:53Speaker 1: what you do for a living. I'm surprised he didn't
- 57:56Speaker 1: tell you that. Now, according to my research, all condoms
- 58:00Speaker 1: are not safe. I mean they lessen the risk, but um,
- 58:04Speaker 1: it depends on you know what they're made of. So
- 58:07Speaker 1: what the condoms are made of. So I just say again,
- 58:10Speaker 1: while you're pointing the finger at your wife, those other
- 58:13Speaker 1: four fingers are looking right back at you. So don't
- 58:16Speaker 1: you be calling her nasty? But you don't even know
- 58:19Speaker 1: the truth yet, you don't really know who it is
- 58:22Speaker 1: you know, Uh, you modern day jiggolo who uses the
- 58:27Speaker 1: term jiggolo anyway? Yeah, I mean I have a few
- 58:39Speaker 1: older ladies they call me when they need a tone up,
- 58:42Speaker 1: if you know what I mean. Well, you know you
- 58:44Speaker 1: want to know how to broach broach the subject with
- 58:46Speaker 1: your wife, you know, because you lost your courage when
- 58:48Speaker 1: you went to talk to her. Um, but you know
- 58:51Speaker 1: this is gonna be a hard one. But I say,
- 58:54Speaker 1: you gotta you gotta come to her, You gotta man up.
- 58:57Speaker 1: And you know, because you do care about about yourself,
- 59:00Speaker 1: your health, your marriage, your wife's health, your marriage. You
- 59:03Speaker 1: care about her. You got to find out the truth.
- 59:06Speaker 1: You got to sit her down and tell her what's
- 59:08Speaker 1: you know, what has happened? You got she already knows
- 59:11Speaker 1: you told her. She's the one that suggested you go
- 59:13Speaker 1: to the doctor. So you can stop all this itching
- 59:16Speaker 1: and burning and and uh blaming your wife and guessing
- 59:20Speaker 1: about it. It's already out there anyway. She needs to
- 59:23Speaker 1: get her shot. So um uh you need to go
- 59:27Speaker 1: ahead and and and open this one up. I mean, seriously,
- 59:30Speaker 1: this is nothing. This is nothing to play with. Yeah,
- 59:33Speaker 1: I'm serious? Are you hidding me? I know you don't
- 59:36Speaker 1: like to tell Steve this man cain't go in here.
- 59:38Speaker 1: Do you know what's really wrong here? She knows what
- 59:42Speaker 1: he does for he put this damn fool, this old
- 59:46Speaker 1: I need all my time interrupted to deal with this,
- 59:52Speaker 1: you mean uninterrupted? Yeah, case see you to miss he this, No, Shirley,
- 59:58Speaker 1: she don't know everything. Yes, the problem Oh this food,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: dumbass man. Yeah, and now he trying to blame her exactly. Hot. No,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you why he lost his courage. I'm
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: gonna tell you why all this is happening already. No,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: all right, we're gonna have part two of Steve's respect.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: But I know itching and burning going on you anytime
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: we heard this. I heard all this, y'all crazy. Come on,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: come on back twenty three minutes after the hours when
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: we'll be back. Subject. She needs a shot, but not
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: by Cupid. Right after this. You're listening show, all right, Steve,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: come on, let's recap today's strawberry letter. She needs a shot?
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Going to help you. This man may works a few
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: part time jobs, which mean ain't none of them that
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: damn good. See if you got a few part time jobs,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: people that do that ain't got one good job. That's
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: what that is. Now, let's just go keep it real.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: So manas on, my line of work has never been
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: an issue in my marriage. I work as a modern
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: day jiggalo and I mostly get paid to entertain women
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: at corporate events, dinners and family functions. What and your
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: wife know this? Now? I also have a few older
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: ladies that call them if they need to tune up,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: if you know what I mean. Y'all know what I mean,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: And I get pai paid well for that, but I
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: don't do it often. Now here's the key. My wife
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: don't know about that part of my job. Now, I
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: always use protection with other women because I have a
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: wife at home, and my wife and I do not
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: use protection. We have sex. We have a very active
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: sex life. I never in a million years would think
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: my wife would cheat on me. Hold on women, partner,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: hind a million years, you didn't think she cheat on you.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: You don't told your wife that you go out with
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: other women. Stop women, ain't women, ain't stupid? Ain't no
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: woman stupid. You're coming home and you think she don't
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: know about this other line where women gotten noses like bloodhound.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: You come in the house with another woman on you,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: and see how long that last partner? So now your
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: dumb ass is set up in here. I would never
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: think in a million years my wife would cheat on me.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you cheating on her? But now I have
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: a problem, and I think my wife is the cause.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I woke up Sunday morning with an itching and burning
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: sensation in my underwear. Hold On, you woke up Sunday
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: morning with an itching and a burning in your draws.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Not when you went to pee. You laying there and
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: the itching and burning started while you was laying there,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Not when you went to the bathroom. Partner, you could
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: have got that from any one of them old lass women.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: You said you could have got that from any one
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: of them. And you have a cuble STD because you
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: can get a shot for this, which you can thank
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: the Lord for that, because they got stuff. Now, ain't
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: those shots for? But you woke up with an itching
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: and burning in your underwear. Wait a minute, holding partner, Now,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I don't want to be graphic, but we I can
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: tell you right now, that's a sexually transmitted fungal disease.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: If you can get a shot for it, itching and
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: burning in your underwear without you year nate. Now, if
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you year nate, that's gone real. If you just burning
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: and itching right now, that's something else, homie, that's two different. Yeah, dog,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: that's homane homie. And this ain't nothing you can be
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: quiet about. Yeah, huh you and now everybody in the house. No,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: you got gone real, you Holly? Yeah? Yeah, so now
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: you didn't got yourself a fungal disease. That's you. My
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: wife saw I was uncomfortable and suggested that I go
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: my doctor's office this week. See you didn't. You just
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: said you was uncomfortable. She said, you ought to go
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to your doctor's office this week, I consummate to hear
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: other problem, Shelly. I constantly Victor visit my doctor to
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: get free condoms. He don't go frequently go to get checkups.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: He just going there because his cheap ass get free condoms.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Because he ain't making that much money. Surely he got
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: several part time jobs. He ain't making a lot of money,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: but he liked the jigglo job the best. That's why
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: he can't quit that. So he can't get a real
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: full time job because he loved a jiggalo work more
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: than he loved anything, and so he not gonna get
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: a full time job because that's a stop him from
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: being a jigglo. That's why he got several part time jobs. See,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I know men now. He didn't go by a doctor
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: because he cheap he gotta get free condoms. And he
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: knows what I do for a living, so it's no
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: problem for him to see me right away because he
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: know you seeing all these other women, and your wife don't.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: So she say, now you found out that you have
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: a sexually transmitted infection infection with your fungal with the
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: itching and burning, I got a shot in my button
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: when straight home talk to my wife. Here go the
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: rest of it. When I got home, all of my
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: carriage was gone. You know why I was gone? Because
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: now when your wife tells you that she ain't cheating,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: she gonna want to know why you gotta sexually transmitted infection.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: So anyone that your carriage was gone, Yo, your manhood
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: kicked in. And now you can't blow your cover as
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: a real jigglo with all these old ass women because
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: you really ain't a jigglo. You're a madhole and you're
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: passing out tail for little no damn money. And if
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: you go in the house and no, surely he say
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: you get't give money? But why you gotta go by doctor?
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Get free condo so you don't pass by all these
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: drugs though, Drive your ass back over to his office.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Get some free damn condoms. Yeah, Trojan makes real good condoms,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: but they cost money. You see it don't make no sense? Surely,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: and why you got to go get free come? How
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: many condoms you use it? So now not he want
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: to know if she cheating on me and her side
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: man not using potential. Now you're Valentine's day and night
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: is ruined by itching and burning because you're nasty ass
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: out there getting lit up, itched and burned on? Right?
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: And how should I bring up the subject going in
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: there telling you a man? Hope? I post your comments
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: on Today's Strawberry Letter and Steve Harvey FM on Instagram
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: and Facebook. Don't forget you check out the string up
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: subject on demand coming up at forty six minutes after

- 1:07:19Speaker 1: native Shaka Khan will sing the national anthem, and the

- 1:08:01Speaker 1: They already picked teams, they already got Okay. Also there
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: is a celebrity basketball game with celebrity coaches Steve stephen
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: A Smith versus Michael Wilborn, plus a three point shootout
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: and slam dunk contest. This is all happening in Chicago
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: this weekend. Bundle up, this is gonna be cold. You
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: really gotta be a basketball fan. Ye one. And they

- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Uncle Steve, say what is a degree? What what is Oh?
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: He just say below the oh, below zero. That's cold
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: right there, Uncle. I know you wouldn't going to the
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: to the All Star Game. Wish I would? I go
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: to the go to the super Bowl. The next year
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: is gonna be in Tampa. Looking forward. My only problem though,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: is the monologue I topped the first year with the
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: second year. I don't know what I'm gonna do next year.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: I think I'm for NFL honors. Yeah, but that diversity
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: was good though. Many Hey, can I say something? Can
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I say something that just you know, I shouldn't say.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna put a Valentine's Day challenge out there? Can
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I put a Valentine Day challenge? Go ahead and we'll
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: let you know if it's go ahead, switch phones for
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: the day and see if y'all steal in love body.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: That is a challenge right there, Entine's Day challenge today
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: and see if y'all in love about this? Even all
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: coming up at the time of the hour, I didn't
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: know this. The average parent hasn't been on a romantic
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: date night in more than three years. We're gonna talk
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: about that right after this. You're listening, Well, today it's
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Valentine's Day and the average parent hasn't been on a
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: romantic date in more than three years. Now. This is
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: according to new research. It's true, Steve, Yeah, I've been
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: I've been knowing that for years. Wow, what why? Why? Why?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Because it's so busy with family? Man, you're looking at sometimes. Uh,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: you know, it takes two two family members working now
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: to make ends meet in the world today because of
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: the cost of living in everything, especially if you live
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: in certain districts, and then you got the work schedules
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: of everybody, and then you add the kids to it,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: and you put the difficulty in the cost of chow
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: care and babysitting and daycare and all of that, and
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: you run into a huge problem and just monotony of
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: life just sets him. Man, and a lot of couples
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: have not done anything romantic in a while. But you
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: know what, it's funny. Yeah, you're here date night, date night,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: date night. That's why strip strip clubs are full and
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: strip clubs is fully married. Man. Oh yeah, that's their
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: date night. Oh yeah, because sometimes they get dry. You're
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: not romancing a woman, you know. And if you don't
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: romance your woman, what is she getting all dialed up for?
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: You're not taking her anywhere? You know. So a lot
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: of times when you run into this situation, it's really
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: the guy has to look at his position in Man,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: my wife don't dress up no more. Where do you
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: take her? You know? What can I say this man
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: on the reel? A woman does not want you to
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: just want her in the bedroom. He right. They want
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: him at dinner, want him at the park, to want
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: them walking and talking, to want them watching TV. They
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: want to be wanted so they can so they can
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: return it. You're absolutely correct, yeah, Tommy, Wow, for sure? Yeah,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: that was that. That was that was that was that
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: ready to live right this year that experience. I can't
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: believe you, you know, you know, you know Steve on
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: the reel, that's his voice change more than the yeah smile. Okay, okay, Julian,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: let me go back to being time. Here we go, here,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: we take here. Listen, ain't no sense. And you're spending
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: five hundred dollars for a hotel room to night when
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: you're gonna be in the same three positions that you
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: be doing at the house. It don't make no damn if.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: I'm just telling you the true all this money, do
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: the same thing you do at the how home. But
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: but okay, Steve, though, seriously, you are the clo chief
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: love officer. So give these parents you know that don't
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: get a chance to have date nights because like eighty
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: one percent of them say they really want to change
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: things and step up their game. So so give them.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Gonna have to save your money and spring for a babysitter,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: m and you gotta do something like just a little
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: bit different, man. Just go get a room somewhere. Go
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: get a room somewhere. You know, look, look if you
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: don't look, okay, okay, let's say you don't have the
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: money for like you know, a rich car tending all that,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: where the room service come up under silver tens and
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: all that. Get you a room at a holiday inn,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: ex rest, get y'all a pizza or a movie on
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: the TV, and get you a room and just do
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: something different. She going there and change clothes. You going
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: in and change clothes, come out, sit on that bed,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: have your pizza, watch a little movie, and do each
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: other and then get up and go home in the morning. Yeah,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I love it home and yeah, and just and do
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: it on a Saturday where y'all can get up, go
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: home and you know, had a babysitter paid overnight, drop
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: your kids off somewhere. But you gotta do it some simple.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: You don't have to have money for four seasons and
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: all that. Get your room at a holiday and express,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: get some pizza or stop and get your favorite check out.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Get you some Chick fil a sandwiches, take them on
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: to the room, set up, make a little plate, no man,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: have self picnic on the bed. Coming out, mark music
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: and trending topics and some headlines at twenty minutes after
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: the hour. Right after this you're listening show, all right,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: So Steve, Registration for the Harvey Foundation Mentoring Camp for
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Young Men opens two day. Congratulations on that on another year. Yeah.

- 1:18:37Speaker 1: you don't do that. Okay, it's hard to explain three
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: teddy balls in the backseat. You can't explaiting that you've
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: got to get them that car. Okay, I'm gonna tell
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: you this. In the case you let's just say you
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: went by somewhere they weren't there. You couldn't get their
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: teted bad to them, throw it out the window. You
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: can't take this, Yeah, you can't take this. Okays, don't
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: worry about that. Eight it Yeah, all right now listen,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: don't get your white side piece the same gift as
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: your black side please them. Two different gifts? What? What? Yes?
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: What is that? Don't get it? What do you mean
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: you can't You can't get them the same thing. There's
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: two different gifts there, and it's hard to explain, but
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: it's just it's two different things. Okay, I can't. I can't.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: You don't. You don't want to mix them up now
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: because you might get a sister. You might get her
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: something that's that's sister ish, and then the white girl
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: needed to get it mixed upthing. You know, it's confusing.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: You can't do that, sister. Can I give you an example, Tommy,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: go ahead, Like if you give them pie, that's one
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: of their gifts you want to get your sister gets
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: sweet potato pie and the white girl get punkin pie.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Don't need to know that. Coming up our last break
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: up the day and break up the dime, Thank you Steeve,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: and some closing remarks from the way it only Steve

- 1:20:04Speaker 1: you're listening all right here we are our last break
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: of the day and of the week. It was a
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: good Valentine's Day. Uh yeah, got these rules Valentine's Day again, ladies.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Happy Valentine's Day to you guys, we love you guys. Yeah,

- 1:20:31Speaker 1: your husband just save it for your huss A happy Valentine. Still,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: there is all different kinds of Love's Nesta gonna eat today? Shaw, Yeah,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: we're going to We're going out. Yeah, this boy can't
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: wait to put that dinner jacket out. Hey, no, it's
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: a plate come behind this one. I got him for Christmas. Wait,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: I see Nesta in the mirror ship practice and chewing
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: and the shoes all man that we eat tonight. Oh
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: look at the time. But I got it for you,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: you know, since it's Valentine's Day. I just want to remind,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: just to men for a minute. You know, the one
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: thing that I've discovered that ain't ever gonna go out
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: of style, and that's love. I've discovered that being in
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: love ain't fitting to go out of style either. Now
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: times have changed. I'll be the first to admit it.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I look at young people now and the way they
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: expressed they love and the way they talk about love,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: and the way they the way they toss it around
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: and share it, and the way it's expressed on social
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: media and everything. But at the end of the day,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: it has to get right back to the same old thing.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Boy meets girl, Girl meets boy. Boy makes eye contact,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Girl professes her feeling, boy professes his feeling. They locked,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: the end up talking. They eventually have to start talking.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: It can't all be texting now. Something else has happened
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: to love along the way. I remember what I was
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: growing up. We had love songs. We had songs that
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: resonated with everybody. Those songs still resonate today. You know,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: somebody told me something. This is not a knock on
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: hip hop, So don't get me wrong. Somebody told me
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: everybody don't like rap, Steve, But everybody loves a good song.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: And I would that's interesting because that's true because most
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: of the hip hop artists I know they love a
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: good song. But then I know, I don't know nobody
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: that doesn't love a good song. No matter what the
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: music genre is they want. They love a good song.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Nobody's mad called somebody's singing. If it's your music genre
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: and they're singing, you're gonna love it. Now, everybody don't
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: like hip hop or rap, I got that. Everybody don't
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: like country, everybody don't like R and B. I got it,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: I got it, I got it. But everybody loves a
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: good song. But back in the day, we had songs
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: that expressed how we really thought and felt about women.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: We had loved. We had loved songs that told women
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: that we missed them, that we needed them, that without you,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: I can't go on. Oh I miss you. We had
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: songs telling women my whole world is empty without you.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: We had songs telling women that they are the sun
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: that brightens our day. They are the sun, the moon,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: the stars. We had songs that really told women the
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: truth about how we are. Now, hip hop came along
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: and it changed a couple of things, because for the
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: first time, we stopped talking about how we felt about women,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: and we started telling women off like they needed that
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: some more to be reinforced. And it's hurt us musically.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: It really really has hurt us musically, y'all. I don't
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: care who you are. I ague this now. Do I
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: have to give hip hop some credit? Oh? Absolutely, because
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: hip hop, it's turned out to be the largest general
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: music genre ever created, almost especially in our community, has
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: created more stars, more millionaires, more job opportunities. So I
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: gotta take my hat off to that man. But when
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: it comes to love those songs, there ain't nothing like
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: the music we had growing up doing the Motown era
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: when they was producing hits, man and everybody had to
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: be able to see. And those love songs still resonate
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: today when it's cold outside. I got the month of May, Well,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: I guess you say, what can make me feel that way?
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: My girl After the Morning After by Frankie Beverly and Maids,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: you Know, Smile by Hall and Old Sarah, Smile Smile
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: by Renee and Angela. It's so many hits from the
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Osley Brothers, the Old Jay's, the Common Doors Ltd. Holding
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: on easy like Sunday Morning. The Common Doors Zoom, the
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Common Doors, I keep hearing footsteps, Baby in the Dark,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: The Osley Brothers, You've got your hooks in me, the
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: Old Jays. I could go on and on, the Charlie
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Wilson's Man, the Pebow Bryson's, the Anita Bakers, the Shore Days,
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Oh Lord Mercy Though, Breath of Franklin's, the Whitney Houston Stuff, Prince,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: the Michael Jackson's, the Luther Van Drosses, the the Dog On,
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, the Marvin Gays. It
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: just went on and on and on, because love ain't
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: fen to go out of style, no time soon, partner,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: And these songs right here can get you through some
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: great times. Show men a lot to me. Those are
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: my closing remarks. I felt good, I felt it myself.
