- 0:01Speaker 1: Well, this is a group NBC that is truly fake news.
- 0:07Speaker 1: They ask a lot of questions in a very pointed way.
- 0:09Speaker 2: They're not questions, says Stavements.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It's NBC trying to get off the subject of what
- 0:13Speaker 1: you just saw. Allow you are a real you know
- 0:16Speaker 1: you're a terrible report number one. You don't have what
- 0:19Speaker 1: it takes to me report and you're not spotted up.
- 0:21Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Good Saturday morning to you.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Ben Ferguson with you, and these are some of the
- 0:29Speaker 4: stories that you may have missed that we talked about
- 0:32Speaker 4: this week on the forty seven Morning Update. First up,
- 0:35Speaker 4: the new book that is out as saying that Joe
- 0:38Speaker 4: Biden wasn't actually the president of the United States of America.
- 0:41Speaker 4: In fact, there's now new accusations that there was five
- 0:45Speaker 4: different people that were running the country.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We'll have the details on that as well.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Also, the American people are now backing Donald Trump at
- 0:54Speaker 4: the same level they were on the day he was inaugurated.
- 0:57Speaker 4: This after big news from a Middle East trip, the
- 1:00Speaker 4: trade in tariff.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Negotiations going extremely.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Well, and the President making it cleary securing the border.
- 1:07Speaker 4: We'll have those details on those polls in just a moment.
- 1:09Speaker 4: And finally, Tom Homan, the Borders Are is going to
- 1:13Speaker 4: join us in a moment and we're going to talk
- 1:15Speaker 4: a lot about what's happening at the border, as well
- 1:17Speaker 4: as what's happening with Fentyl and the national security crisis.
- 1:21Speaker 4: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Story number one.
- 1:26Speaker 4: The Atlantic has come out with a new article entitled
- 1:29Speaker 4: an Autopsy Report on Biden's in office decline. The headline
- 1:34Speaker 4: reads this way about the new book Original Sin. That
- 1:38Speaker 4: book says this, five people were running the country and
- 1:43Speaker 4: Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board. Now,
- 1:48Speaker 4: this new book that has come out, Jake Tapper is
- 1:50Speaker 4: one of the authors of it from CNN, is now
- 1:53Speaker 4: describing a presidency without a president where there were five people,
- 1:59Speaker 4: none of them actually named in this book, who were
- 2:02Speaker 4: running the country and calling all of the shots. We
- 2:06Speaker 4: also are now learning that the cognitive decline of the
- 2:09Speaker 4: president was massive even before he became President of the
- 2:13Speaker 4: United States of America. For example, three years later, on
- 2:17Speaker 4: the presidential campaign trail, Biden's struggles became more obvious to
- 2:21Speaker 4: those around him. Tapper and Thompson report in twenty twenty,
- 2:25Speaker 4: for example, members of Biden's inner circle gave the candidate
- 2:28Speaker 4: a teleprompter with scripted questions for a local news interview.
- 2:33Speaker 4: His dwindling communicative and cognitive abilities, aids were shocked, as
- 2:38Speaker 4: they said they couldn't rely on Biden to stay on message,
- 2:42Speaker 4: and he often had a very short attention span. The
- 2:44Speaker 4: book's most astounding, previously unreported story from Biden's twenty twenty
- 2:50Speaker 4: campaign concerns his staff's attempts to create videos of the
- 2:55Speaker 4: candidates speaking to voters over zoom. Tapper and Thompson's description
- 2:59Speaker 4: of this this is worth quoting at length, saying this
- 3:03Speaker 4: Biden would sit in a room with several monitors beaming
- 3:05Speaker 4: the faces of real Americans in front of him so
- 3:08Speaker 4: they could discuss issues of importance. You have to remember
- 3:11Speaker 4: this was during the time of COVID. The videos came
- 3:15Speaker 4: back hours of footage. Some on the team couldn't believe
- 3:19Speaker 4: their eyes. The videos were horrible. One top Democrat said
- 3:24Speaker 4: he couldn't follow the conversation at all. I couldn't believe
- 3:27Speaker 4: it set A second Democrat who hadn't seen Biden in
- 3:31Speaker 4: a few years. It was like a different person. It
- 3:34Speaker 4: was incredible. This was like watching Grandpa who shouldn't be driving. Yes,
- 3:39Speaker 4: they're referring to Joe Biden when he was running for
- 3:42Speaker 4: president in twenty twenty. A special team was brought in
- 3:45Speaker 4: and told to edit the videos down to make them arable,
- 3:49Speaker 4: if only a few minutes worth. They had to get
- 3:51Speaker 4: quote creative. The authors go on to write edited the
- 3:55Speaker 4: videos likely appeared fine the viewers, Biden no worse than
- 3:59Speaker 4: any other you're on zoom, But two of the Democrats
- 4:02Speaker 4: who were involved in the film's production together were dumbfounded, saying, quote,
- 4:06Speaker 4: I didn't think he could be president. The second Democrats said,
- 4:10Speaker 4: after what they'd seen, they couldn't understand how Biden could be.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Capable of doing the job.
- 4:16Speaker 4: And that's not the only thing that apparently is being
- 4:18Speaker 4: revealed in this book that comes out on Tuesday. Another
- 4:22Speaker 4: example of just how bad things were quote.
- 4:25Speaker 1: In twenty twenty.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Two, according to one witness, Biden found himself unable to
- 4:30Speaker 4: remember the names of his own national security advisor, Jake Sullivan,
- 4:34Speaker 4: Steve he called him at least twice, or his communications
- 4:39Speaker 4: director Kate Bettingfield, whom Biden once resorted to calling press.
- 4:45Speaker 4: That's not the only thing that we learned from this
- 4:47Speaker 4: book and the excerpts. As some high ranking Democrats quoted
- 4:50Speaker 4: anonymously in the book put it to Tapper and Thompson,
- 4:53Speaker 4: after Biden's disasters debate with Trump last June, they said, quote, just.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Who the hell is running the country? Question mark.
- 5:01Speaker 4: At least one unnamed source close to the Biden administration
- 5:05Speaker 4: was willing to provide the authors with an answer. And
- 5:08Speaker 4: this is the part that should make every American angry.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Quote five people were running the country, the insider said,
- 5:15Speaker 4: seemingly referring to the president's closest advisers, and Joe Biden
- 5:20Speaker 4: was at best a senior member of the board. Near
- 5:23Speaker 4: the end of the book, Tapper and Thompson offer a
- 5:26Speaker 4: glimpse into how powerful Democrats responded, for example, to the
- 5:30Speaker 4: grim spectacle of Biden's early summer face off with Trump.
- 5:34Speaker 4: The authors described as seeing that the home of James Costos,
- 5:38Speaker 4: an ambassador to Spain under Obama, where celebrities and politicians
- 5:43Speaker 4: gathered to watch the debate as a dodoring Biden tanked
- 5:46Speaker 4: on stage in front of some fifty million Americans. The
- 5:49Speaker 4: film director and Democratic donor Rob Reiner became scared, then furious, saying, quote,
- 5:55Speaker 4: We're going to lose our efing democracy because of you,
- 5:59Speaker 4: he screamed, seeming to direct his ear at the closest
- 6:02Speaker 4: thing to a Biden official in the room. Who was it,
- 6:05Speaker 4: the second gentleman, Doug Enhoff. What Reiner apparently failed to consider,
- 6:10Speaker 4: but what original sin the book prompts readers to ask,
- 6:14Speaker 4: is whether America's democracy was already meaningfully diminished. Describing how
- 6:19Speaker 4: some in Biden's world justified propping him up for reelection
- 6:23Speaker 4: in twenty twenty four, A longtime aide toil Tapper and
- 6:26Speaker 4: Thompson quote, he just had to win and then he
- 6:29Speaker 4: could disappear for four years. He'd only have to show
- 6:33Speaker 4: proof of life every once in a while. In other words,
- 6:36Speaker 4: before Biden stepped down from the race, the plan for
- 6:39Speaker 4: some aid seemed to be the weekend at Bernie's, a
- 6:43Speaker 4: cognitively impaired president, in the hopes that upon winning a
- 6:46Speaker 4: second term, he could be hidden from the public while
- 6:49Speaker 4: unelected staff took care of the real business of governing.
- 6:53Speaker 4: When you vote for somebody, you're voting for the people
- 6:57Speaker 4: around them.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Too.
- 6:58Speaker 4: This aid offered as a way of justifying what was,
- 7:01Speaker 4: by any reasonable metric, an effort to undermine democracy and
- 7:05Speaker 4: defraud the American people.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So, yes, the cover up was massive.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Yes we had someone running the country or a group
- 7:12Speaker 4: of people that were elected by no one. And now
- 7:15Speaker 4: the question is what is Congress going to do about it?
- 7:18Speaker 4: And will there be an investigation? We'll keep covering it
- 7:21Speaker 4: right here now, story number two. There's one thing that
- 7:24Speaker 4: is for sure. Democrats are having a tough couple of weeks.
- 7:28Speaker 4: James Comy is under investigation. Now there's a massive tell
- 7:32Speaker 4: all book talking about Joe Biden not actually being the
- 7:35Speaker 4: president of the United States of America and Democrats who
- 7:38Speaker 4: are rallying behind the eighty six forty seven picture on
- 7:42Speaker 4: the beach.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It's not going well. But who is it going well for?
- 7:46Speaker 4: Where Four polls are now showing that Donald Trump has
- 7:50Speaker 4: a strong approval rating. That's right, coming off of last
- 7:54Speaker 4: week's trip to the Middle East. In his administration's recent
- 7:57Speaker 4: progress on trade agreements, it appeared a boosted the perception
- 8:01Speaker 4: among American voters, with four national polls now showing Donald
- 8:05Speaker 4: Trump's favorability rating above forty seven percent. Consistent with the
- 8:10Speaker 4: levels following his inauguration. Polls released on Monday by Morning
- 8:14Speaker 4: consult Rasmussen and Harvard Harris showed Trump's approval ratings at
- 8:19Speaker 4: forty eight, forty nine, and forty seven, respectively, and the
- 8:23Speaker 4: Daily Mail poll release Sunday showed his approval rating at
- 8:26Speaker 4: actually fifty percent. Despite the doom and gloom headlines from
- 8:29Speaker 4: news organizations, the American people actually feel great about the
- 8:34Speaker 4: direction of the country. That's what the White House had
- 8:37Speaker 4: to say, and adding this what's to hate. We are
- 8:40Speaker 4: undoing the widely unpopular agenda of the previous office holder,
- 8:44Speaker 4: uprooting waste, fraud and abuse, and chugging along on the
- 8:47Speaker 4: great American comeback. The Daily Mail poll was conducted by
- 8:51Speaker 4: the Way May thirteenth and fourteenth, with a large sample
- 8:54Speaker 4: size of more than one thousand registered voters. Trump's approval
- 8:58Speaker 4: rating is a five percentage points from a poll taking
- 9:01Speaker 4: one hundred days into his second term nearly three weeks ago.
- 9:05Speaker 4: The most important thing this shows is that Trump can
- 9:08Speaker 4: bounce back when some of his voters waiver. Is what
- 9:11Speaker 4: James Johnson, the co founder of j L Partners, said.
- 9:15Speaker 4: People who are concerned about the sense of direction. The
- 9:18Speaker 4: strength after tariff reversals are now back on board as
- 9:22Speaker 4: they see the President doing what they feel he does best,
- 9:25Speaker 4: making deals. This on top of the new news that
- 9:28Speaker 4: we may actually get an endo the war with Ukraine
- 9:30Speaker 4: and Russia that the President is brokering, will only push
- 9:33Speaker 4: his approval ratings higher.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And finally, story number three.
- 9:37Speaker 4: There is one man that is fighting tooth and nail
- 9:40Speaker 4: to keep all Americans safe and getting rid of violent
- 9:43Speaker 4: criminals that are in this country illegally. His name is
- 9:46Speaker 4: Tom Homan and he's the borders are And I was
- 9:49Speaker 4: able to sit down with him and ask him several
- 9:51Speaker 4: questions about exactly where we are and the fight to
- 9:54Speaker 4: get rid of so many people that broke in this
- 9:56Speaker 4: country illegally.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And here is what he had to say.
- 10:00Speaker 4: You mentioned the budget a moment ago, and how important
- 10:02Speaker 4: it is to have the budget for you guys to
- 10:04Speaker 4: continue your job.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Explain for everyone listening.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Is that referencing that the big beautiful bill and what
- 10:10Speaker 4: is in there that you need so much to continue
- 10:13Speaker 4: to do your job at the border?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Well, we want to make the border secure permanently, so
- 10:18Speaker 2: we need more infrastructure, right, so we need to finish
- 10:20Speaker 2: building that wall. Now, let's be clear, every place they
- 10:23Speaker 2: build a border barrier, illegal migrations went down, illegal drug
- 10:26Speaker 2: flow went down. But most important, walls save lives. Women
- 10:30Speaker 2: and children can't get over that wall, the most vulnerable,
- 10:33Speaker 2: so they go to a place so there's not a
- 10:35Speaker 2: wall on what's waiting on them the men and women
- 10:36Speaker 2: of the border patrol first of all. So the ball
- 10:38Speaker 2: saves lives. So we need to finish the border barrier.
- 10:41Speaker 2: We need money to finish the technology within the existing
- 10:44Speaker 2: border wall, because not only did President by And stop
- 10:47Speaker 2: the construction of the wall, he stopped adding the technology
- 10:50Speaker 2: in that smart wall. Technology that let's just know how
- 10:53Speaker 2: someone climbs that wall, touch this wall, dig under that wall.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Technology where borbitual agents in the middle of nowhere can
- 10:58Speaker 2: get on the radio and use walls repeaters to talk
- 11:01Speaker 2: to other agents for help. There are some places on
- 11:03Speaker 2: the southern border where they lose all communications. So all
- 11:06Speaker 2: that technology needs to be done. More technology yet, and
- 11:09Speaker 2: port of entries to make sure no ventano's coming through.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And as far as the entire enforcement, we need beds.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Right now, we got about fifty two thousand people in detention.
- 11:19Speaker 2: We're funder that thirty four thousand ICE is already in
- 11:21Speaker 2: the hole. We need about one hundred thousand beds because
- 11:24Speaker 2: everybody we arrest needs a bet. We just don't rest
- 11:27Speaker 2: somebody in New York City and put them on a
- 11:28Speaker 2: plane leave. We got to detain them for several days
- 11:31Speaker 2: or several weeks to get travel doctrines, get flight flight arrangements,
- 11:34Speaker 2: flight finances. So we need bets. So we need you know,
- 11:38Speaker 2: so this budget, that the depending budget right now, the
- 11:40Speaker 2: big beautiful bill, will give us some money filled beds.
- 11:42Speaker 2: They're going to give us thousands of more borbagilations, thousands
- 11:45Speaker 2: more ICE agents. It's going to give ICE a budget
- 11:48Speaker 2: to bring in more contracts up. What I mean by
- 11:51Speaker 2: that badgers and guns shouldn't be sitting at a desk
- 11:54Speaker 2: doing reports of processing. They shouldn't be sitting at a
- 11:58Speaker 2: desk doing travel doctrins and all the all the administrative
- 12:02Speaker 2: duties that occurred within ICE. You can have a contractor
- 12:05Speaker 2: sitting there doing that work. Give that badging gun, get
- 12:08Speaker 2: them out on the street to arrest the public safety
- 12:10Speaker 2: thrusts and national security threats. So we needed the money
- 12:12Speaker 2: to do. Like I said, We're doing more than Biden
- 12:14Speaker 2: did but Biden wasn't doing anything. We need to do
- 12:17Speaker 2: ten times more than buying too, not three times more.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And I'll leave you with this. We got seven hundred
- 12:22Speaker 2: thousand illegal aliens in this country where the criminal conviction
- 12:25Speaker 2: walking the streets this country. We got to get them.
- 12:27Speaker 2: We got to gain it quickly. We got one point
- 12:30Speaker 2: four man illegal aliens who do head due process a
- 12:32Speaker 2: great taxpayer expense, were ordered removed by a federal judge
- 12:36Speaker 2: and didn't leave, and they become fusitives. We got a
- 12:38Speaker 2: lot of work to do, and we need money to
- 12:40Speaker 2: do more. We're doing good, but more money we have,
- 12:43Speaker 2: the more we can do.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Tom, you mentioned finding them all. Let's talk about sanctuary
- 12:48Speaker 4: cities for a second. It's very clear Democrats are not
- 12:51Speaker 4: backing off of that. How dangerous is the policy? And
- 12:56Speaker 4: who is being harbored in these cities that are refusing
- 12:59Speaker 4: to work with you guys?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Will there be accountability?
- 13:03Speaker 4: Are they harboring MS thirteen gang members and domestic terrafts,
- 13:07Speaker 4: foreign terrafts? Uh, those that are putting the fetnel out
- 13:10Speaker 4: in society? How dangerous are these cities?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Were the dangerous the dangerous for everybody because in the
- 13:17Speaker 2: sanctuary city means I don't have access to the jail
- 13:19Speaker 2: arrust a bad guy public safety threat in the safety
- 13:22Speaker 2: and security of the jail, where the alien safe, the
- 13:25Speaker 2: officers safe, on the public safe. When sanctuary cities knowingly
- 13:29Speaker 2: leased a public safety a threat back in the street,
- 13:31Speaker 2: it certainly puts the community at risk. It even puts
- 13:34Speaker 2: the alien at risk because anything can happen during the
- 13:36Speaker 2: street arrest and great, it puts the officer that great
- 13:39Speaker 2: arrisk because now we've got to arrest a criminal alien
- 13:41Speaker 2: public safety threat on his turf. We has access to
- 13:43Speaker 2: who knows what weapons. It's very dangerous and yestural host
- 13:47Speaker 2: Sanctuary cities accountable. Its pam binding has already fought lawsuits
- 13:50Speaker 2: against several Uh, we're we're we're working with DJ now again.
- 13:55Speaker 2: We want we want where's that right? Where's that where's
- 13:58Speaker 2: that line? Where when do you cross that line? You
- 14:00Speaker 2: can sit there and watch Ice do your job. Because
- 14:03Speaker 2: here's what irritates me the most. I don't care what
- 14:06Speaker 2: party you're in. If you're an elected mayor, elect, a
- 14:09Speaker 2: city council person, or elected governor, your number one responsibility
- 14:15Speaker 2: it's the safety and security of your neighborhoods, your communities.
- 14:19Speaker 2: ICE has been clear from the beginning with President Trump,
- 14:22Speaker 2: We're going to prioritize public safety threats and national security threats.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Why will you not help us make your community safer.
- 14:29Speaker 2: There's no downside on that. And the sanctuary city is
- 14:33Speaker 2: want to argue what we're a sanctuary city because we
- 14:35Speaker 2: want victims and witnesses of crime, if they're illegally United States,
- 14:39Speaker 2: to feel comfortable coming to the law enforcement without fear
- 14:42Speaker 2: of working with ICE. That is a bunch of crap.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Victims and witnesses of crime don't want the bad guy
- 14:48Speaker 2: in the neighborhood either. And as far as the illegal
- 14:50Speaker 2: alien community, I'll say this, despite being here illegally, many
- 14:55Speaker 2: of them are god fearing family people. They don't want
- 14:58Speaker 2: a preyer in they neighborhood either. They didn't want someone
- 15:00Speaker 2: convicted DUI ten times driving to their neighborhood either. So
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know, if you go to the immigrant community and
- 15:06Speaker 2: ask them one simple question, would you rather have ICE
- 15:09Speaker 2: operating in the jail or in your community? What do
- 15:11Speaker 2: you think they're going to say? They're going to say
- 15:12Speaker 2: to jail, so sanctuouses will be held accountable. Matter of fact,
- 15:16Speaker 2: we're reissuing the ICE detainer. We just changed the new
- 15:18Speaker 2: ICE detainer. We're letting them black and white. Let them
- 15:21Speaker 2: know this person is a designated terrorist, this person is
- 15:24Speaker 2: a designated return felon. We're going to let them know
- 15:27Speaker 2: exactly who they were detaining based on biographic and biometric information,
- 15:31Speaker 2: and see what they do. Are they going to violate
- 15:33Speaker 2: Relates and Riley Act, Then we'll go out to prosecution.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Now they're going to know at least a terrorist. Then
- 15:39Speaker 2: we're going to go out to prosecution. So it's about
- 15:41Speaker 2: to get a lot tougher, and it's the right thing
- 15:43Speaker 2: to do.
- 15:43Speaker 4: I want to go back to accountability for a second time,
- 15:46Speaker 4: and I want to ask you there are a lot
- 15:48Speaker 4: of people that believe that there were laws that were
- 15:50Speaker 4: broken deliberately in the last administration. They knew they were
- 15:53Speaker 4: breaking the law. One of those would be former Homeland
- 15:56Speaker 4: Security Secretary. My orc is that you mentioned a moment ago.
- 16:00Speaker 4: So should he be criminally prosecuted for his role in
- 16:03Speaker 4: the border crisis if it was as deliberate as it
- 16:05Speaker 4: now seems.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Look, I think what he did was borderline trees in this.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I'm not an attorney, I'm not a prosecutor. But what
- 16:13Speaker 2: he did, he did more damage to this country. Him
- 16:16Speaker 2: and the Biden administration. What they did to this country,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I can tell you when they opened that border up
- 16:22Speaker 2: sex trafficking women should to increase tenfold of a record
- 16:27Speaker 2: number of migrants died making that journey. Over four thousand
- 16:31Speaker 2: or record number of Americans died from fatanah that come
- 16:33Speaker 2: across that open border. And it's just what he calls
- 16:38Speaker 2: this country and from a national securities perspective, because here's
- 16:41Speaker 2: what his orders were, process quick, release quick. They didn't
- 16:46Speaker 2: care about the crisis. They cared about the optics of
- 16:48Speaker 2: the crisis. If there's no overcrowding, there's nothing to see here.
- 16:52Speaker 2: So border trades were processed as quick as they could
- 16:55Speaker 2: and releasing that quicker as they could. And there's been
- 16:57Speaker 2: several instances would they release so quickly the FBI scan
- 17:02Speaker 2: didn't come back and and it came back hot. Actually
- 17:05Speaker 2: they already Bember released. They came back hot as a
- 17:07Speaker 2: non inspected terrorst So, yeah, he what he did was unconsortable.
- 17:12Speaker 2: What he did is in my opinion borderline in treeson
- 17:15Speaker 2: is he should be held accountable because a lot of
- 17:18Speaker 2: deaths occurred under his watch, and look at like like
- 17:21Speaker 2: Sandra Cruz said a few minutes ago, right now, ninety
- 17:24Speaker 2: six percent decline and illegal immigration when ninety six percent
- 17:27Speaker 2: less people are coming. How many women aren't being raped,
- 17:30Speaker 2: How many children aren't dying crossing a border. How many
- 17:33Speaker 2: no inspected terrorists aren't getting in the country. How many
- 17:35Speaker 2: pounds of fatanyl is not getting a country? What are
