- 0:01Luke chapter 10 Now after this the Lord appointed 70 others,
- 0:05and sent them in pairs ahead of him to every city and place
- 0:07where He himself was going to come.
- 0:09And he was saying to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the
- 0:12laborers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of
- 0:15the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
- 0:18Go, Behold, I send you out his lambs in the midst of wolves.
- 0:22Carry no money, belt, no bag, no shoes, and greet no one on the
- 0:25way. Whatever house you enter, first
- 0:28say peace be to this house. If a man of peace is there, your
- 0:31peace will rest on him, but if not, it will return to you.
- 0:35Stay in that house eating and drinking what they give you, for
- 0:39the laborer is worthy of his wages.
- 0:41Do not keep moving from house to house.
- 0:44Whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set
- 0:46before you, and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them,
- 0:50The Kingdom of God has come near to you.
- 0:53But whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out
- 0:56into its streets and say, even the dust of your city which
- 0:59clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you.
- 1:03Yet be sure of this, that the Kingdom of God has come near.
- 1:07I say to you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom
- 1:10than for that city. Woe to you, Corazon, woe to you,
- 1:15Bethsaida, for if the miracles have been performed in Tyre and
- 1:18Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long
- 1:21ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
- 1:24But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the
- 1:27judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will not be
- 1:30exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to
- 1:32Hades. The one who listens to you
- 1:34listens to me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and he
- 1:38who rejects me rejects the one who sent me.
- 1:41The 70 returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons
- 1:44are subject to us in your name. And he said to them, I was
- 1:47watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.
- 1:50Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents
- 1:52and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing
- 1:56will injure you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in
- 1:59this that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that
- 2:02your names are recorded in heaven at that very time.
- 2:05He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, I praise you,
- 2:09O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden
- 2:11these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed
- 2:14them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was
- 2:17well pleasing in your sight. All things have been handed over
- 2:20to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the
- 2:23Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to
- 2:27whom the Son wills to reveal him.
- 2:30Turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the
- 2:33eyes which see the things you see.
- 2:35For I say to you that many prophets and kings wish to see
- 2:38the things which you see, and did not see them, and to hear
- 2:41the things which you hear and did not hear them.
- 2:44And a lawyer stood up and put him to the test, saying,
- 2:47Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
- 2:50And he said to him, What is written in the law?
- 2:52How does it read to you? And he answered, You shall love
- 2:56the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
- 2:58and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your
- 3:01neighbor as yourself. And he said to him, You have
- 3:04answered correctly, do this and you will live.
- 3:07But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my
- 3:11neighbor? Jesus replied and said a man was
- 3:15going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers,
- 3:18and they stripped him and beat him, and went away, leaving him
- 3:21half dead. And by chance a priest was going
- 3:23on that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other
- 3:26side. Likewise A Levite also, when he
- 3:30had come to the place and saw him, passed by on the other
- 3:32side. But a Samaritan who was on a
- 3:34journey came upon him, and when he saw him he felt compassion
- 3:38and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine
- 3:42on them. And he put him on his own beast,
- 3:45and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
- 3:47On the next day he took out two denari and gave them to the
- 3:50innkeeper, and said, Take care of him, and whatever more you
- 3:53spend when I return I will repay you.
- 3:56Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to
- 3:58the man who fell into the robber's hands?
- 4:00And he said the one who showed mercy toward him.
- 4:04Then Jesus said to him, Go and do the same.
- 4:08Now as they were travelling along, he entered a village and
- 4:10a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
- 4:13She had a sister called Mary who was seated at the Lord's feet
- 4:16listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with
- 4:19all her preparations and she came to him and said, Lord, do
- 4:22you not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving
- 4:25alone? Then tell her to help me.
- 4:28But the Lord answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are
- 4:31worried and bothered about so many things, but only one thing
- 4:34is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which
- 4:38shall not be taken away from her.
