- 1:56Speaker 1: Please work on the Monday Making conversation Mysa Hilton Hi.
- 2:02Speaker 1: How are you, thank you for having me, thank you
- 2:04Speaker 1: for being on my show. Uh where you located it?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Right now? I'm in New York right now my favorite city. Uh.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Or you're a New Yorker? Did you your transplant? Tell
- 2:16Speaker 1: me about that. Yes. No, I'm from Mount Vernon, New
- 2:19Speaker 1: York originally, which is our Westchester County, the suburbs and
- 2:25Speaker 1: um born and raised. Awesome. So when once it is iconic,
- 2:30Speaker 1: you know, you talk about you know, the most iconic
- 2:33Speaker 1: is the you know, how did these ideas come in
- 2:40Speaker 1: your head? When it comes to fashion, I want to
- 2:43Speaker 1: get that person out because you do. What you're not
- 2:45Speaker 1: gonna do is be oh, you know, hello, not with
- 2:49Speaker 1: what you created. Not have you shocked the world. You
- 2:52Speaker 1: have to sell people on things that you fashion and
- 2:55Speaker 1: that they're a little good. Oh no, girl, don't worry
- 2:58Speaker 1: bout it's gonna be on point. Well first on, my
- 3:05Speaker 1: My creativity is very intuitive, right. So I'm inspired by people.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I'm inspired if it's a if it's a musician, I'm
- 3:13Speaker 1: inspired by their lyrics, by the rhythm, by the melody,
- 3:17Speaker 1: by their music, by their performance, and um. From there,
- 3:20Speaker 1: I just idea start to flow. And then once the
- 3:24Speaker 1: idea start to flow. I have to be able to
- 3:27Speaker 1: you know, organize them and put some put them together
- 3:31Speaker 1: and sell them to the client, but also to the
- 3:33Speaker 1: companies that they work for and potentially the management and
- 3:37Speaker 1: all of the decision makers because image is an important
- 3:40Speaker 1: part of selling any project or a part of any clients.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Um uh, you know, image, images, everything, you know, So
- 3:50Speaker 1: for me, it's like that's the process I have to
- 3:53Speaker 1: you know, I become inspired. I get to know my
- 3:56Speaker 1: clients as people first and find out what their goals are,
- 4:00Speaker 1: who they are, you know, what they love, what they're into,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and how they see themselves, and then I go I
- 4:07Speaker 1: take it from there. And that's always been my guest,
- 4:10Speaker 1: even before I was a fashion style which I was
- 4:12Speaker 1: able to do that with my friends, my aunties, my neighbors.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I was styling everyone. Now this is the person I
- 4:18Speaker 1: wanted an interview in New York now because you know,
- 4:23Speaker 1: would you say the Little Kim moment is truly the
- 4:26Speaker 1: iconic moment for you. I know you do a lot
- 4:29Speaker 1: of amazing things, but you know, I could just reach
- 4:31Speaker 1: back there and that's one of those times and where
- 4:33Speaker 1: you can go where were you in? Did you see
- 4:35Speaker 1: it live? Did you see it happen. How did that?
- 4:38Speaker 1: First of all, let's talk about getting at the designing
- 4:41Speaker 1: that outfit, and then, like you said, you you tied
- 4:44Speaker 1: to the personality who or who's willing to take that risk,
- 4:47Speaker 1: who's willing to carry that fashion moment out? Tell us
- 4:50Speaker 1: how that played out with little Kim and and expounding
- 4:53Speaker 1: in detail. Okay, So one weekend I was hanging out
- 4:58Speaker 1: with Missy Elliott and we were listening to music, talking
- 5:02Speaker 1: about fashion and you know, all that kind of stuff,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and she was like, you know what, if I was Kim,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I would just have I ought to be careful what
- 5:11Speaker 1: I said on the radio, I guess, But can I
- 5:12Speaker 1: just say what? She said? No, you can shuts down now.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Our relationship be over with the seconds. Okay, So she said,
- 5:22Speaker 1: you know what if I would let me, let me,
- 5:25Speaker 1: let me do my best here. Yeah, you know, kind
- 5:26Speaker 1: of like kind of like to take a deep breath
- 5:29Speaker 1: and then'll give you trying to put like five words
- 5:31Speaker 1: to that one word that you want to say, because
- 5:33Speaker 1: you're gonna take by five words to get it out right. Okay,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you're gonna get a little worthy that. Don't don't worry
- 5:39Speaker 1: about it. You're gonna get a little worthy then what
- 5:41Speaker 1: you would have done at the moment? I got you,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I got you. So she said, you know, if I
- 5:47Speaker 1: was Kim, I would do something very risque. You know,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I would just you know, have one part of my
- 5:53Speaker 1: body exposed, because you know, little Kim could do something
- 5:56Speaker 1: like that, because she's so edgy and over the top.
- 5:58Speaker 1: You know, she could really pull that off. And I said,
- 6:01Speaker 1: m M. And I just you know, put that idea
- 6:03Speaker 1: in the back of my head and I was like, wow,
- 6:05Speaker 1: that is something that would be something, wouldn't it. And
- 6:08Speaker 1: so the next big event that we had comment for
- 6:12Speaker 1: a Little Kim was the nine MTV Music Video Awards,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I mean Music Music Awards, and um, I went, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: went into I went into my my my mind, and
- 6:25Speaker 1: I said, and I pulled that idea, and I said,
- 6:27Speaker 1: in my memory bank I put the idea. And because
- 6:31Speaker 1: it was so riscar, I wanted to make it really
- 6:33Speaker 1: beautiful and ornate and fun. And so I shopped for
- 6:37Speaker 1: Indian bridle fabric, which was really beautiful with silber and
- 6:41Speaker 1: lavender and white and lace, and you know, it was
- 6:45Speaker 1: very um, feminine and girly. And from that material, I
- 6:49Speaker 1: also made um a Pasti's pasties that would go over
- 6:54Speaker 1: the left side of our body and up her arm.
- 6:57Speaker 1: And it was just me being crea eative. I didn't
- 7:00Speaker 1: think much about it, you know, it just I love
- 7:04Speaker 1: the idea. Kim thought it was amazing. We had just
- 7:07Speaker 1: came off of the Crushed Room You video where we
- 7:09Speaker 1: did the primary colors of red, blue, green, yellow, but
- 7:13Speaker 1: we wanted to go into pastel colors. We wanted to
- 7:16Speaker 1: try the lavender wigs and and the color lavender, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: so we just did it. And I'm telling you, we
- 7:22Speaker 1: had no idea that it would be as off the
- 7:28Speaker 1: hook as it was. I mean, we shot a videos
- 7:31Speaker 1: that evening after the war, so we were working all
- 7:34Speaker 1: night indoors, and back then we can have social media,
- 7:38Speaker 1: so we didn't know what was going on. We didn't
- 7:40Speaker 1: know the whole world was in a frenzy. When I
- 7:42Speaker 1: came outside after shooting it was actually the Quiet Storm
- 7:46Speaker 1: video with Mobb Deep and Little Kim. When we finished that,
- 7:50Speaker 1: we must have been about nine am. And when I
- 7:53Speaker 1: came outside, I spoke. The first call I got was
- 7:56Speaker 1: from my mom and she said me, so you are
- 7:58Speaker 1: all over the news, on the in and in the
- 8:02Speaker 1: newspaper for this look you did were little Kim, She said,
- 8:04Speaker 1: you know, I'm really surprised you would do something like that, Mom, mom,
- 8:11Speaker 1: just with real only with church on you, my baby baby,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you know the girl that the church ain't gonna look
- 8:17Speaker 1: at me? Right now? I think that that that center
- 8:22Speaker 1: a little Kim, Come on that baby. I love you.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But that's a moment I'm about to pray about real. Yes,
- 8:31Speaker 1: And you know what, what what didn't what really put
- 8:35Speaker 1: it on the top with Diana wrong though, Oh yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 1: that's what she touched. When she touched it, I was like,
- 8:41Speaker 1: oh my god, please don't fall off, please, but if
- 8:47Speaker 1: stay And it was and that was a moment that
- 8:50Speaker 1: goes down in history, but you know, it was really organic.
- 8:53Speaker 1: It was just, you know, back then that we didn't
- 8:55Speaker 1: have a lot of people with opinions being overbearing in
- 8:59Speaker 1: our lives. We really were in a creative bubble, and
- 9:02Speaker 1: we didn't have social media. So a lot of the
- 9:04Speaker 1: things that I was able to create were so special
- 9:07Speaker 1: and iconic because they were untapped, and so I got
- 9:12Speaker 1: to create from a place of authenticity and a place
- 9:15Speaker 1: that represented my clients really well. And then from that place,
- 9:19Speaker 1: you know, it becomes art and people appreciate it. And
- 9:22Speaker 1: so I'm really grateful because that's, you know, a moment
- 9:25Speaker 1: that is still alive and well and emulated to this day.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You still see people has not been tapped though okay,
- 9:34Speaker 1: let's gonna be real, not has not been topped. And
- 9:38Speaker 1: I yeah, you know that was here that phrase break
- 9:40Speaker 1: the Internet. If the Internet would have been alive, and
- 9:44Speaker 1: that would have broke it. The moment when when Diana
- 9:47Speaker 1: Ross lifted it, lifted her up, that would have shut
- 9:51Speaker 1: down the Internet. That would have been viral. That would
- 9:53Speaker 1: have been like, that's still been viral. That's congratulate as
- 10:00Speaker 1: on that moment because that allows, you know, sometimes you
- 10:04Speaker 1: have to hold on to certain things and that's like
- 10:05Speaker 1: something that that's you know, if that that's that's that's
- 10:08Speaker 1: that's fashion history, that's TV history, that's icon at moments
- 10:13Speaker 1: that that From a creative perspective, I wanted to make
- 10:16Speaker 1: sure people understand understood doing this interview that was you,
- 10:20Speaker 1: that was you, because there's a lot of people who
- 10:22Speaker 1: are non African Americans, they assume they're the one who
- 10:25Speaker 1: create these moments. And I do people that on the
- 10:28Speaker 1: show like MTV, which we know is a watch and
- 10:31Speaker 1: you have the talent on there that you guys were
- 10:33Speaker 1: able to get through the system properly and to come
- 10:36Speaker 1: on TV like that and the world accepted it and
- 10:38Speaker 1: then blew it up and blew it up. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: thank you. Wow. So so what what what what? What?
- 10:46Speaker 1: What was the moment after that when you when that
- 10:48Speaker 1: was just spinning and rotating around. I'm sure your name
- 10:51Speaker 1: was on everybody's lips, you know, you you know, but
- 10:54Speaker 1: it also can be a bad thing because people can
- 10:57Speaker 1: like pigeonholed you to a certain style. Yes, yeah, that
- 11:01Speaker 1: journey after that big, iconic, iconic moment, Yeah that is true.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I mean, um, it was an exciting time and then
- 11:11Speaker 1: into what you just said a very true but you
- 11:13Speaker 1: brought that up that I did have clients after that.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I would say, well, you know, I just you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: I'm not I can't pull battle. I I don't want
- 11:21Speaker 1: something like that. And I would have to say, now
- 11:24Speaker 1: I connect with my clients as individuals. I was That
- 11:27Speaker 1: was a moment for Kims. I would never duplicate or
- 11:31Speaker 1: we try to relive that moment over and over again
- 11:34Speaker 1: because I was just I was special for her, you know,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and my my styling and my can activity is divine.
- 11:40Speaker 1: It comes from God. It's my gift. So I works
- 11:43Speaker 1: through me and and and with God working through me,
- 11:46Speaker 1: he has something for everybody through my gifts. And so
- 11:49Speaker 1: I would have to let people know that some songs
- 11:52Speaker 1: to reassure them, like, you don't have to worry. I
- 11:53Speaker 1: know that's not your style. I know that you're not risque,
- 11:57Speaker 1: and that I wasn't even thinking about going and I
- 11:59Speaker 1: start action with you. So that did happen at time,
- 12:02Speaker 1: But overall, I think that people appreciated at the moment.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I think that they thought it was really special. It was,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and yeah, it was something that, um you know that
- 12:14Speaker 1: continues to live on and whether you like it or not,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you remember it. You looked at it, and you appreciated
- 12:21Speaker 1: it for what it was. And I think that it
- 12:22Speaker 1: was in total alongment with Kim and her lyrics on
- 12:25Speaker 1: who she is as an artist, Awesome on the phone
- 12:28Speaker 1: is uh Lissa hilt Him. She has conceived the groundbreaking
- 12:32Speaker 1: styles for the world's biggest celebrities, including Mary J. Blind,
- 12:36Speaker 1: fifty Cents, Mr Elliott Faith Evans, Sean Combs and commor
- 12:40Speaker 1: Lee Simmons, and many others. Uh, she come back on
- 12:44Speaker 1: our next break, We're going to talk about something that
- 12:46Speaker 1: the reason I brought on the show was her Fashion
- 12:48Speaker 1: Academy and professional studies courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Because when you're a groundbreaking person, you gotta know how
- 12:56Speaker 1: you can get in touch with it. You gotta know
- 12:58Speaker 1: if she's sharing these skills when she shared, hearing these
- 13:00Speaker 1: skills because she mentors and she pays it forward. We'll
- 13:03Speaker 1: be back with more moneymaking conversations with my fantastic friend.
- 13:07Speaker 1: She's open up now, she's comfortable now with Rashard McDonald.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Maybe she can design something for me, you know, some
- 13:14Speaker 1: butt out pants like prints and something like that. You know,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you know this was Sean McDonald. I'm on the phone
- 13:23Speaker 1: my good friend, Miss Hilton. You know she tried to
- 13:25Speaker 1: come on and just do me with this little hi
- 13:29Speaker 1: Miss Hilton, confess just a small community outside of New
- 13:33Speaker 1: York and everything that I had a bustle down. You know,
- 13:36Speaker 1: you legendary girl. Come on now, your legendary Trybaka Film Festival.
- 13:41Speaker 1: See you can't, you can't. You can't play me like that,
- 13:43Speaker 1: Miss Hilton. Now you know, try Beka Film Festival. Movie
- 13:47Speaker 1: coming out documentary May second, come on? Now, how are you?
- 13:52Speaker 1: How are you trying to be so humble and your
- 13:54Speaker 1: bold start in the fashion and music industry? People know you.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I bet you. I walk your house is a who's
- 14:00Speaker 1: who on your wall? Well, you know, I'm pretty I'm
- 14:06Speaker 1: pretty humble in mom if you're right about that. But
- 14:09Speaker 1: you know what my work speaks from you. I let
- 14:13Speaker 1: that do the talking. It's really interesting because you're humble
- 14:17Speaker 1: and that that's great. But when do you turn it on?
- 14:20Speaker 1: Because you gotta sell people on your idea and you
- 14:24Speaker 1: have to be able to talk and communicate, but also
- 14:26Speaker 1: not be too arrogant, you know, because because they go okay,
- 14:30Speaker 1: it could be they could be turned off because you're
- 14:32Speaker 1: dealing with that look, why do you think your look
- 14:34Speaker 1: gonna work for me? And then you have to be
- 14:36Speaker 1: able to be virsatile that you're not duplicating looks. So
- 14:40Speaker 1: you're sitting at home on the drawing pad, you're at
- 14:44Speaker 1: that right hand busy. Yeah yeah, but I could. I
- 14:49Speaker 1: couldn't be arrogant if I tried. And you know, for me,
- 14:53Speaker 1: it's just about connected with the I think one of
- 14:55Speaker 1: my strength is I'm just I'm really confident, So um
- 15:00Speaker 1: that comes across. That's energy, right, So you feel that
- 15:02Speaker 1: before I can't even say anything. And because I'm so
- 15:06Speaker 1: connected with my clients, they appreciate that, so then they
- 15:09Speaker 1: trust me, so then they're willing to try, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 1: what they're willing to. First of all, I get to
- 15:14Speaker 1: understanding of what they want, so that's always incorporated in
- 15:19Speaker 1: anything that I'm creating for them. And then if I
- 15:21Speaker 1: want to do something a little outside of their comfort zone,
- 15:24Speaker 1: they trust me because I made the connection already. So
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think it's about confidence and just being positive and
- 15:30Speaker 1: bringing good energy because fashion is fun, you know, so
- 15:33Speaker 1: it shouldn't be anything that has to make you feel
- 15:35Speaker 1: worried and anxious or concerned. It should be something that's
- 15:39Speaker 1: a celebration of who you are. And so that's the
- 15:42Speaker 1: energy I bring. So do you have a podcast or anything?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Because you looks like you should be doing a podcast,
- 15:47Speaker 1: because I don't. I don't. Okay, okay, I don't manage
- 15:53Speaker 1: this is this is another client. I gotta pick up
- 15:55Speaker 1: y'all people, Commlige, all these superstars over here. I don't.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I don't. Who wouldn't want to listen to you? All
- 16:02Speaker 1: these celebrity friends that you get on. There is only
- 16:05Speaker 1: all you have to do one day, week, twenty five
- 16:06Speaker 1: minute podcast, and your brand will be out there probably
- 16:10Speaker 1: getting twenty five downloads a week. Wow, that sounds good. Yeah, Okay,
- 16:15Speaker 1: we're gonna talk later. Let's let's talk about this fashion academy.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Because see, I see already I've warned her over she
- 16:21Speaker 1: understands when she's talking to no Us about the fashion
- 16:26Speaker 1: academy that you started, and why so important as far
- 16:29Speaker 1: as what you're trying to do as far as spreading
- 16:31Speaker 1: the knowledge of fashion as well as mentoring people and
- 16:35Speaker 1: allowing people to break in the industry that really is
- 16:37Speaker 1: kind of closed if you don't have the right right relationships. Yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 1: it's it's so true. So I found that the mesa
- 16:44Speaker 1: Health and Fashion Academy would my fellow celebrity stylish John
- 16:48Speaker 1: Husbonds in two thousands twelves, and we wanted to create
- 16:53Speaker 1: a place for people who were interested in fashion where
- 16:56Speaker 1: they can learn and get the skill set and the
- 16:58Speaker 1: knowledge that they needed for also like master their creative
- 17:02Speaker 1: gifts and understand how to monetize them, because that's what
- 17:05Speaker 1: it's all about. Right When you have a creative gift,
- 17:07Speaker 1: they have to understand how to monetize it, but you
- 17:10Speaker 1: also have to understand the culture of the business, the
- 17:13Speaker 1: skill set, that etiquette, and that's a lot of times
- 17:16Speaker 1: what keeps people from being from getting in the door
- 17:20Speaker 1: because they just don't understand what they're walking into and
- 17:23Speaker 1: how to actually get their foot in the door and
- 17:25Speaker 1: how to stay in the door um and create mangevity
- 17:29Speaker 1: around a career that they that they're trying to start.
- 17:31Speaker 1: So we created a curriculum that was, you know, really
- 17:36Speaker 1: easy to understand, that was comprehensive, and it's a ten
- 17:38Speaker 1: month program and that the end of ten months are
- 17:42Speaker 1: our students who graduate are able to start working as
- 17:47Speaker 1: interns and assistance while they're doing their own jobs. And
- 17:51Speaker 1: we also highly recommend, almost insist that our students start
- 17:57Speaker 1: in internships because there's that's like a that's that's the
- 18:00Speaker 1: greatest gift you can ever receive, and in any career
- 18:04Speaker 1: that you want to get into, but especially fashion, if
- 18:06Speaker 1: you get to intern for someone who's doing exactly what
- 18:10Speaker 1: you want to do, you get to learn everything. You
- 18:14Speaker 1: get to see how they troubleshoot, you get to see
- 18:16Speaker 1: how they work their relationships, you get to see how
- 18:19Speaker 1: they sell their creative ideas and how they how they
- 18:22Speaker 1: lead and lead a creative team and those that's priceless
- 18:26Speaker 1: to get that kind of first hand information without having
- 18:29Speaker 1: a responsibility. I know you're rare to do interviews and
- 18:35Speaker 1: because they told me with Sean, she don't really do
- 18:37Speaker 1: a lot of interviews. And I feel blessed to have
- 18:40Speaker 1: you on here because the fact that I just want
- 18:43Speaker 1: to get your story out to a group of people
- 18:46Speaker 1: that may have may have kind of like google your
- 18:49Speaker 1: name kind of like that. And here the here the
- 18:52Speaker 1: human side of you, the passion side of it, because
- 18:55Speaker 1: that's what because we start talking about life coaching and mentoring,
- 18:59Speaker 1: that just so I and even when you were talking
- 19:01Speaker 1: about the academy, it just it just it was just
- 19:03Speaker 1: talking about, you know, interning, being able to give more
- 19:07Speaker 1: for your dreams. And I understand it's not all about
- 19:09Speaker 1: getting paid. It's about the opportunity, because I would if
- 19:13Speaker 1: you give me an opportunity, IM gonna get paid. So
- 19:16Speaker 1: you're gonna get paid. The money always comes, and so
- 19:19Speaker 1: for me, it was about giving back. I'm grateful for
- 19:23Speaker 1: you know, my journey. I'm grateful for every every single
- 19:26Speaker 1: opportunity that I had, and so for me, it was
- 19:29Speaker 1: a way of giving back to the next generation that
- 19:31Speaker 1: creative and so that's you know, it's a bit, it's
- 19:35Speaker 1: a it's a huge part of my legacy. And I'm
- 19:38Speaker 1: also an adjuent professor at s I T and I'm
- 19:43Speaker 1: really really proud about that. So, you know, giving back
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's just really close to my heart. It's something that
- 19:50Speaker 1: um is important for me. When I make it, I
- 19:54Speaker 1: want to bring other people forward with me, you know,
- 19:56Speaker 1: I want to share knowledge. One of my favorite quotes
- 19:59Speaker 1: it's for my angel when you get gifts, when you learn,
- 20:03Speaker 1: teach and I lived by that awesome. Now let's talk
- 20:06Speaker 1: about the mc M partnership. That's the entrepreneurship side of you,
- 20:11Speaker 1: because first of all, you started out just working your talent,
- 20:14Speaker 1: starting to establish your brand and just this's a hustle.
- 20:17Speaker 1: We all start out with a hustle, you know, trying
- 20:19Speaker 1: to just trying to get people to believe in. Then
- 20:22Speaker 1: you get a couple of steps out there, then all
- 20:23Speaker 1: of a sudden, somebody say, hey, you need to get
- 20:25Speaker 1: what's your name of your business? Business? Just just check
- 20:30Speaker 1: to my name. That's one the money and so now
- 20:33Speaker 1: you're doing a major partnership with m c M. Tell
- 20:36Speaker 1: my because the show is called Money Making Conversations. I
- 20:38Speaker 1: always like to hear you young entrepreneurs hear that story.
- 20:42Speaker 1: How how did that come about? Well, I've always been
- 20:45Speaker 1: a big fan of m c M since I was younger.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Back in the days, m c M was like one
- 20:51Speaker 1: of the biggest fluxury brands, believe it or not, bigger
- 20:54Speaker 1: or more popular than Louis Vuitton and Gucci, and so
- 20:58Speaker 1: I remember my aunties having those bags, and I remember
- 21:02Speaker 1: the music artists and the rappers that I looked up to.
- 21:06Speaker 1: They wore m c M office that Dapper Dam would
- 21:08Speaker 1: be um creating and so m c M has always
- 21:11Speaker 1: been really special and close to my heart. And last April,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I was hired by m c MS to create some
- 21:19Speaker 1: custom pieces for Big Daddy Kane, Rhapsody and Ninth Wonder
- 21:23Speaker 1: and it was for the m c M Puma collaboration.
- 21:27Speaker 1: So I created custom pieces that would accent these sweatsuits
- 21:31Speaker 1: that were MCM and Puma for the Collapse. And shortly
- 21:36Speaker 1: after that, I was appointed Global creative Partner because there
- 21:40Speaker 1: was a huge success and an interests around what that
- 21:44Speaker 1: I you know the custom pieces that I had created
- 21:47Speaker 1: for the brand. But the crazy part is that Beyonce
- 21:54Speaker 1: style is or the the U m cm out the
- 22:00Speaker 1: trench that I made for Big Daddy Kane, and she
- 22:03Speaker 1: contacted me and was like, I want one for Beyonce
- 22:06Speaker 1: and I was like, absolutely clean, people off our table,
- 22:12Speaker 1: excuse me, excuse me, and so um so she told me,
- 22:18Speaker 1: and so I said, okay, you know, send me as
- 22:20Speaker 1: her measurements. Of course i'll get I'll make you run
- 22:23Speaker 1: right away. And so like a couple of weeks went
- 22:25Speaker 1: by and I reached out. I said, hey, Serena, you
- 22:27Speaker 1: still want to jacket and she said yes, but I
- 22:29Speaker 1: just want to make sure she's gonna wear it before
- 22:31Speaker 1: you go through all the trouble to make it. And
- 22:33Speaker 1: I said, oh man to myself, but I was like, okay,
- 22:35Speaker 1: well we want to make it anyway, whether she wears
- 22:37Speaker 1: it or not, but I'd be honored. So maybe about
- 22:41Speaker 1: another week went by and Serena calls me and she's like, Mesa,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I need a full m c M look. Okay, I
- 22:49Speaker 1: need the jacket, but I need a full look and
- 22:51Speaker 1: I need it in three days and I need you
- 22:53Speaker 1: to get it shipped to Paris. I said, has anybody
- 22:59Speaker 1: passed through the money around you? That's all I wanted
- 23:03Speaker 1: as we excuse me, miss Hilton, where is the money?
- 23:09Speaker 1: It does? It does? And she was ready to pay
- 23:14Speaker 1: like she was weighing. So she all the business got
- 23:17Speaker 1: taken care of, and I just I when you know again,
- 23:21Speaker 1: I told you my creativity is intuitive. I just saw
- 23:24Speaker 1: a boost, I saw a penny, I saw the motorcycle trench,
- 23:29Speaker 1: and then Serena wanted to pay a skates um. So
- 23:32Speaker 1: we made air rings, a cap, a trench, a boost
- 23:36Speaker 1: with a matching penny. It looked like a body suit.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Made it all in three days over Memorial Day weekend,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and had a ship world that expressed to Paris. Now
- 23:45Speaker 1: at this point, I still don't know what it's for.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I've been in this business a very long time, and
- 23:50Speaker 1: I know that you don't ask any questions, especially with
- 23:52Speaker 1: an artist like Beyonce. You just get it done. And
- 23:56Speaker 1: so I got it done. And I found out when
- 23:59Speaker 1: the world found out that it was for her eight video.
- 24:06Speaker 1: It was for it was her. It was for her
- 24:08Speaker 1: music video which was um the you know the song
- 24:13Speaker 1: feature from her her album with jay Z. Everything is
- 24:17Speaker 1: love and um. She also used this the images from
- 24:22Speaker 1: the video for international campaign, which was usual worldwide. So
- 24:27Speaker 1: that was another iconic moment. It was another moment um
- 24:33Speaker 1: that became bigger than life. I mean she the pictures
- 24:36Speaker 1: from the video where in Tom Square it was about
- 24:39Speaker 1: eight billboards and Tom Square alone. They were in trained stations,
- 24:42Speaker 1: on the side of the buses, on on pay phone,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you know our pay phones. It was everywhere. You know,
- 24:51Speaker 1: you gotta come back on my show. Now I can't
- 24:53Speaker 1: know what you can talk now. See at first we
- 24:54Speaker 1: were you know, this relationship is rolling that because you're
- 24:57Speaker 1: a brand master, a life coach, marker. Okay, she's debase.
