- 2:04Speaker 1: I listened to the voice come on dig me now
- 2:07Speaker 1: wanted only Steve Harvey got a radio shop, Yeah, man,
- 2:11Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio shop. Trying to do something
- 2:14Speaker 1: with it too, man. Uh you know, Um, I was
- 2:18Speaker 1: having a conversation the other day with a young person
- 2:23Speaker 1: and they were telling me how they felt that their
- 2:25Speaker 1: life was stuck, that their life was in a rut,
- 2:29Speaker 1: that they didn't know what to do next. And one
- 2:34Speaker 1: of the things that was causing them, uh, this sadness
- 2:38Speaker 1: or this depression. I mean, they really really into something
- 2:41Speaker 1: right now. One of the things that was causing it, um,
- 2:45Speaker 1: was the fact that they had made a list of
- 2:49Speaker 1: things they wanted to accomplish by a certain age, and
- 2:54Speaker 1: UM that age they just had a birthday recently, and
- 3:00Speaker 1: UM they were looking at the list and the list
- 3:04Speaker 1: hadn't been fulfilled. And because that list hadn't been fulfilled, UM,
- 3:12Speaker 1: they were really really sad about it. You know. UM
- 3:17Speaker 1: one of the things that they had on the list
- 3:20Speaker 1: was marriage, kids, And I don't know everything else that
- 3:25Speaker 1: was on the list, but that was one of them.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And because she had reached a certain age and she
- 3:31Speaker 1: wasn't married, and she didn't have the kids, and she
- 3:34Speaker 1: had just celebrated her birthday, she's gone into this uh
- 3:39Speaker 1: mode of sadness whereas really really taking a toll on
- 3:44Speaker 1: and uh as as I was learning about her situation,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I was thinking about it, and I just wanted to
- 3:53Speaker 1: share this with you all this morning that, UM see,
- 3:58Speaker 1: one of the things about making a list about what
- 4:01Speaker 1: you want, which I happened to be a proponent of,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I do it myself. I have people have dream boards,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I have a gold sheet I have I've been doing
- 4:10Speaker 1: it for years. It's it's a it's a wonderful way,
- 4:13Speaker 1: uh to set goals and to keep it in front
- 4:16Speaker 1: of you as a constant reminder. And I always go
- 4:18Speaker 1: over this goal list every day, you know, I mean
- 4:21Speaker 1: I I go over it all the time every day.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Sometimes I miss a day here and there, but but
- 4:27Speaker 1: mostly every day, I pulled my gold sheet out and
- 4:29Speaker 1: I look at it, I read it. So I was
- 4:31Speaker 1: going to these rallies, and I was learning about, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 1: people who were successful in how they kept their mind
- 4:38Speaker 1: writing positive. And one of the things I learned was
- 4:40Speaker 1: to make these dream boards, these lists, these gold sheets
- 4:43Speaker 1: and um and making a gold sheet and you make
- 4:48Speaker 1: the sheet according to what you want. Think about one
- 4:52Speaker 1: thing when you made your gold sheet, about what you wanted?
- 4:57Speaker 1: Does your goal sheet have on it what God wants
- 4:59Speaker 1: for you? Did you ask in any of this what
- 5:04Speaker 1: was His will in your life? You know? Look, man,
- 5:07Speaker 1: what we want oftentimes is not what He wants for us.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And you know, if if you're fighting against what you
- 5:15Speaker 1: were created for, if you're fighting against his will, I mean,
- 5:20Speaker 1: what do you want to happen? See? Don't be so
- 5:24Speaker 1: hard on yourself when you look at your goal sheet
- 5:26Speaker 1: and you look at what you've not become what you
- 5:29Speaker 1: thought was a great idea. Don't be so hard on
- 5:32Speaker 1: yourself because you just made a minded mistake, as do
- 5:35Speaker 1: most people. We oftentimes make our goals and set our
- 5:38Speaker 1: goals up without ever considering what is it that God
- 5:41Speaker 1: wants from us, what's in his will? What's his plan
- 5:45Speaker 1: for us? You know, I was talking to some people
- 5:47Speaker 1: the other day and we were laughing about our share
- 5:49Speaker 1: just the other day. If you want to make God laugh,
- 5:53Speaker 1: tell him your plan. How may it really? If you
- 5:56Speaker 1: really want to crack God up, tell him your plan. See,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and that's what we do. We make our plans without
- 6:03Speaker 1: including God. But listen to me. Don't be so hard
- 6:06Speaker 1: on yourself. Don't be so down and out about it
- 6:09Speaker 1: when you look at your gold sheet and you haven't
- 6:11Speaker 1: accomplished the things you wanted to accomplish. You just made
- 6:15Speaker 1: a mind a mistake, that's all, and you can correct it.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You just made a mistake that most people make. We
- 6:21Speaker 1: keep talking about what we want without ever finding out
- 6:24Speaker 1: or knowing what it is God wants for us. Well,
- 6:27Speaker 1: guess what, man, Maybe you're fighting against the grain. Maybe
- 6:30Speaker 1: you're just a salmon heading upstream. That's a tough fight upstream.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Not all salmons get up to the spawning grounds, you know,
- 6:37Speaker 1: some of them don't make it upstream, you know. But
- 6:40Speaker 1: all of them, nearly all of them except the ones
- 6:43Speaker 1: that's killed by pray. When they spawned, they go out
- 6:45Speaker 1: to the ocean. That's cool, because you're going because you're
- 6:48Speaker 1: going with the grain. You're going downstream, you're going with
- 6:51Speaker 1: the flow. That's but but when it's time to go
- 6:54Speaker 1: against the grain, it's tough. And a lot of us
- 6:57Speaker 1: have just been going against the grain for all of
- 6:59Speaker 1: these years. Is but you know what, listen, man, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: did it. I know a lot of people who did it.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Very few people get it right from the very beginning. Man,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you got to stumble through life sometimes sometimes you got
- 7:12Speaker 1: to fall through life. You gotta make a lot of mistakes, man,
- 7:16Speaker 1: But these mistakes are not failures. You know, when you
- 7:18Speaker 1: fail at something, don't look at it as a fail
- 7:20Speaker 1: You don't look at yourself as a failure. Because you're
- 7:23Speaker 1: thirty and and your goals ain't reach that you had
- 7:25Speaker 1: on your list, that was your list. What about the
- 7:29Speaker 1: things that's going right? Stop looking at what you're not,
- 7:33Speaker 1: Take some time out and thank God for what you are.
- 7:36Speaker 1: How about the fact that you keep waking up to
- 7:38Speaker 1: be thirty. You know, you get depressed about these birthdays.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You really want to throw yourself in some depression. Miss
- 7:43Speaker 1: a birthday, You really got a problem. Now look at
- 7:47Speaker 1: where you are. You keep reaching birthdays. That's a glorious blessing.
- 7:51Speaker 1: You keep waking up. You got your health, You've accomplished something,
- 7:55Speaker 1: something on your list is done. People spend too much
- 7:58Speaker 1: time on the nextative side, and you're just throwing yourself
- 8:01Speaker 1: into depression. So what, you want to be married by
- 8:04Speaker 1: a certain age and you wanted to have kids. Okay, cool,
- 8:07Speaker 1: you could have done all that with the wrong person.
- 8:09Speaker 1: There's a blessing in not being married to the wrong person.
- 8:13Speaker 1: There's a blessing in not having kids and nobody to
- 8:16Speaker 1: help you raise it. There's a blessing in that man.
- 8:18Speaker 1: You're talking to somebody who can tell it to you.
- 8:20Speaker 1: You can marry the wrong person if you want to.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I'm telling you you're gonna be up in some mess
- 8:25Speaker 1: you can't count on. So instead of being angry because
- 8:29Speaker 1: you're not married you don't have kids, why don't you
- 8:31Speaker 1: thank God the man. Maybe he spared you from some
- 8:33Speaker 1: misery here. Maybe you could have married the wrong person.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Maybe you have kids and you're not really ready to
- 8:38Speaker 1: be a mother or a father. You gotta look at
- 8:40Speaker 1: the upside man, Quit looking at what you don't have.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Take some time to thank God for what you do have.
- 8:46Speaker 1: When you do that, you make more room for blessings
- 8:49Speaker 1: to flow into your life. I'm not saying how God thinks,
- 8:52Speaker 1: because I really don't know, but I'm telling you, if
- 8:57Speaker 1: a person comes to me and always give a person
- 9:00Speaker 1: something and they never appear grateful, or they never say
- 9:02Speaker 1: thank you, please, no, you can quit coming to me. Now.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I don't know that's how God works, because I've gone
- 9:10Speaker 1: back to him several times without being grateful of thanking him,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and he's feeling my basket up again. So I really
- 9:17Speaker 1: think he's not like that. But I can't make the
- 9:20Speaker 1: call for sure, but I think at one point in time, me,
- 9:24Speaker 1: just just me talking, i'd be a little ticked off
- 9:27Speaker 1: at somebody who was always taken, taking, taking, and never
- 9:31Speaker 1: showing any gratitude. At one point in time, I would
- 9:34Speaker 1: just stop the flow of the take. You know, you
- 9:37Speaker 1: just you can't take no more from me. That's what
- 9:39Speaker 1: I would do. Now. I'm not calling it like that
- 9:42Speaker 1: because I ain't him, but I know he's merciful, He's
- 9:45Speaker 1: full of goodness and here and then and he'll forgive
- 9:47Speaker 1: you and and thank god he does that because he's
- 9:50Speaker 1: shown enough done it for me. But wow, man, take
- 9:53Speaker 1: some time out today and be grateful for what you have.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Stop complaining about where you're not, and think about where
- 9:58Speaker 1: you are, and then take it from there. And then
- 10:01Speaker 1: next time you make a list, make sure on that
- 10:03Speaker 1: list you have God's will. What does he want for you?
- 10:07Speaker 1: God create gift everybody a gift and a talent. Some
- 10:10Speaker 1: of us never apply gifts and talents. We head off
- 10:13Speaker 1: in another direction. Then you wonder why your life ain't
- 10:16Speaker 1: well supposed to be. Have you ever thought about what
- 10:18Speaker 1: God gifted you to do? Have you ever thought about
- 10:21Speaker 1: doing that? And still skip what you want? I wanted
- 10:23Speaker 1: to play in the NBA, but I gotta tell you
- 10:25Speaker 1: something at dribbling and shooting and running all at one
- 10:28Speaker 1: time was throwing me off a little bit. You know.
- 10:31Speaker 1: It's so I'm doing what I do. It's pretty cool.
- 10:35Speaker 1: You can look at it that way. Okay, yeah, man,
- 10:37Speaker 1: that's the show this morning. Side, But I didn't get
- 10:39Speaker 1: to a song this morning, But it's cool. We'll work
- 10:41Speaker 1: on it. Okay, we come back. Man, I'm gonna tell
- 10:44Speaker 1: you right now today, on today, more ignorant than usual. Yeah, yeah, today, man,

- 11:27Speaker 1: work for Red Cross, United Way, all of the organizations.
- 11:31Speaker 1: But I'm talking about the people that just go get
- 11:34Speaker 1: their damn boat and do something. People who put on
- 11:39Speaker 1: life vest and walk from door to door, people who

- 12:59Speaker 1: gonna get We're gonna go down the auto shack and
- 13:02Speaker 1: Napple and up to me and put it on that. Yeah, yeah,

- 15:41Speaker 1: nobody called the check on me. I said before, we've
- 15:43Speaker 1: been calling you for folk days. Where have you been?
- 15:47Speaker 1: She said? I left Saturday to Washington Floyd Mayweather fight.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I said, during the hurricane. We've been looking for you,
- 15:54Speaker 1: losing our minds. She said, Boy, didn't Floyd put a
- 15:56Speaker 1: whooping on Color? Are you for free? Right now? I'm
- 16:02Speaker 1: sitting up here losing my mind. You show up yesterday? Now,
- 16:08Speaker 1: are you? I'm trying to I'm trying to chastise. Huh.
- 16:11Speaker 1: She's saying, Man, I gotta taste something though that flooring
- 16:14Speaker 1: showed he put a weapon on Foma. I thought it
- 16:16Speaker 1: was gonna be over In the fourth she was over
- 16:21Speaker 1: there with the people. When she watched, she got straight.
- 16:24Speaker 1: She was still at the fight part. This the longest
- 16:26Speaker 1: fight part in Hurricane. Here bars, they're still over there
- 16:31Speaker 1: watching reruns of the fight. I'm sitting over here, like
- 16:35Speaker 1: I can't believe at the time like this, you're gonna
- 16:38Speaker 1: sit up here and bring up the fight. Oh man,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I just won't to just know. Surely, if I could
- 16:42Speaker 1: just get some new family member, that's just all the truth.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I ain't got time to be sitting here worried and
- 16:48Speaker 1: you're talking about the fight. Family family, No cause, no,
- 16:52Speaker 1: not this one. This is something wrong with it. Then
- 16:54Speaker 1: she got mad at me. She said, well, I've been
- 16:56Speaker 1: here for y'all before. I said, no, No, this ain't
- 16:58Speaker 1: the time to leave. Everybody, we're trying to find you.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You over there at a fight party doing a hurricane.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It sounds like your priorities really messed up. Right now. Wait,
- 17:09Speaker 1: don't matter. I'm here now, That's what she said. I'm
- 17:11Speaker 1: here now. Though I said no, I need to get
- 17:14Speaker 1: another sister. I'm just telling you my name. Anybody want
- 17:17Speaker 1: to adopt me? Just make this lead all right, Steve,
- 17:23Speaker 1: thank you, junior. It's not time for what's the one
- 17:27Speaker 1: thing you refuse to share with your significant other? Come on, Steve,
- 17:33Speaker 1: I know there's one thing. I know you and Marjorie
- 17:35Speaker 1: share a lot. You're you know, in a loving relationship
- 17:38Speaker 1: and all of that. But there's a but, well, the bathroom.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I just can't. We can't. Got too much stuff scared.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I don't want to see it to last bathroom. Marjorie
- 17:53Speaker 1: can't share a bathroom with another human being. It's just
- 17:57Speaker 1: too much. I'm with you, Marjorie. I wish too much.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It's just everywhere it's stealth and makeup. You got to
- 18:07Speaker 1: read everything, huh. I grabbed the lotion one time. It
- 18:12Speaker 1: was hair condition. Yes, I can't get it off, my man?
- 18:18Speaker 1: What is wrong? It's right here? I mean, everything is wrong.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I just can't. I can't do it with her. That
- 18:25Speaker 1: can't happen. I'm with you. I'm with Marjorie on that.
- 18:29Speaker 1: To have my own bathroom. And I don't share my
- 18:31Speaker 1: ice cream with it. When I eat ice cream, I
- 18:33Speaker 1: go somewhere by myself. And now, what's wrong with ice
- 18:39Speaker 1: cream sharing? Because I won't all. Look, but what are
- 18:44Speaker 1: you talking about? Your little yeah? Like ice cream? Just
- 18:51Speaker 1: if you scoop it out, you won't give him some
- 18:53Speaker 1: of yours or just the whole containers. He eats it
- 18:55Speaker 1: straight out of the cart. And you know this, scoop
- 18:58Speaker 1: it out of what the card me is my boat?
- 19:06Speaker 1: Dig a fuse in mind? Cream in my bones? You know? So? What? What?
- 19:13Speaker 1: What we? But? But what you? You didn't want? None?
- 19:16Speaker 1: Why you over here? But you make it look so good,
- 19:19Speaker 1: especially if you let it melt a little bit and
- 19:21Speaker 1: whip it up. I put it in the microwave. Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: do that. See, but I've been to the ice cream
- 19:28Speaker 1: factory where they made it up in Cleveland. We just
- 19:30Speaker 1: go on this field trip and you actually are not
- 19:33Speaker 1: supposed to eat ice cream ice ice like when it's
- 19:35Speaker 1: real hard and it bend your spoon trying to dip it.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Apo eat ice cream like that. That's not how it's
- 19:40Speaker 1: meant to be eating. It's really not. It's soft and
- 19:44Speaker 1: it's just cold, creamy and delicious. Ever head, what won't
- 19:52Speaker 1: you share Tom? Watching this? The tarlet and my toothbro
- 19:57Speaker 1: them too right now? Really? Really all my tarlet? What
- 20:08Speaker 1: I had them build one just for you. That one
- 20:10Speaker 1: right there over there is for you. This one is
- 20:13Speaker 1: for me. Are you angry about because because I was
- 20:18Speaker 1: angry when we built it. That's that's just how I
- 20:21Speaker 1: went down. We had a bathroom argument, tarlets in the
- 20:27Speaker 1: same bathroom. We need it, we need it, Yeah, whole
- 20:32Speaker 1: separate area, yes, redoing the bathroom with that. But I
- 20:41Speaker 1: just realized in the drawing this ue, when I saw it,
- 20:46Speaker 1: that I'm completely out of the thing. Where are you?
- 20:52Speaker 1: You've been looking for your area? Now? Can I tell
- 20:55Speaker 1: y'all the main thing we can't ship. Don't say too chicken.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I'm not sharing my side piece with her. Now, that's
- 21:03Speaker 1: one thing, and that's what you can't get involved, and
- 21:09Speaker 1: you're not. What you're not gonna do is for me
- 21:12Speaker 1: to allow you to be a part of my side piece.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Now that's not gonna happen. Only the men on the
- 21:17Speaker 1: show laughing at that. You get your mind off, punk,
- 21:28Speaker 1: what's your six? Let me talking about? Know? Who is she?
- 21:31Speaker 1: I don't worry about all that to compare. Notice, we
- 21:40Speaker 1: gotta go coming up back. Tommy's run that prank back
- 21:45Speaker 1: right after this. But look, you're listening to Steve Harvey
- 21:53Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up at the top of the hour.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Miss Anne will be here with today's national news. But
- 21:58Speaker 1: right now it's the nephew. It's crazy and run that
- 22:02Speaker 1: prank back running back, certainly, happy ending, Happy ending. A
- 22:10Speaker 1: lot of men know what that is. Hello, therapy and
- 22:15Speaker 1: just duty speaking. How may I help you? Yeah, I'm
- 22:18Speaker 1: trying to come in and get some some therapy done.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I was in an accident at my job. You know,
- 22:22Speaker 1: I got injured like a week and a half ago.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I ain't been able to go back to work for
- 22:26Speaker 1: my back and my leg. If they say, you know,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I haven't broke any bones and nothing, but it's you know,
- 22:31Speaker 1: it's real soul, real steal, hard to get out of bed.
- 22:34Speaker 1: So I wanted to see you know what it takes
- 22:36Speaker 1: UH to get a therapist and get started getting some
- 22:39Speaker 1: type of treatment. Okay, we'll start. What we typically do
- 22:42Speaker 1: is we ask our patients to come in, you know,
- 22:45Speaker 1: check out our facility and so we can also accept you, um,
- 22:49Speaker 1: you know, see where the damage is the majority of it,
- 22:51Speaker 1: and you know, then get you to a therapist. So
- 22:54Speaker 1: if you would like to come in, we can definitely
- 22:55Speaker 1: do that for you. Okay, do you know what the
- 22:58Speaker 1: therapists actually do when they're doing the treatment. Well, if
- 23:01Speaker 1: you come in, sir, and we can definitely direct you
- 23:03Speaker 1: um to any of our three therapists that we have
- 23:06Speaker 1: on site right now, but each one specializes in a
- 23:10Speaker 1: particular um field, so it's more beneficial for you if
- 23:14Speaker 1: you come in and then we can assess you and
- 23:16Speaker 1: then direct you to that particular therapist. Okay, okay, So
- 23:20Speaker 1: you said, how many of y'all do y'all have? We
- 23:22Speaker 1: have three. There's Marty, Brenda and Ccilia here. Okay. The
- 23:26Speaker 1: person that referred me to y'all told me that Cecilia
- 23:30Speaker 1: was the one that that had worked up. Is it
- 23:32Speaker 1: a way I could talk to to scil you? Typically
- 23:35Speaker 1: we lormally ask for patients to come in. But let
- 23:37Speaker 1: me see if she's available right now. I know earlier
- 23:40Speaker 1: she was with a patient, so let me just check
- 23:42Speaker 1: really quick. I mean, if she is available, then I
- 23:44Speaker 1: can I can transfer you. Okay, okay, okay, I just
- 23:48Speaker 1: hold on, okay, hold on, Hi. This is Secilia. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: Celia trying to come up there and get some therapy done.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I heard my back and my leg at work. I mean,
- 23:59Speaker 1: they are they already told me was nothing broken, nothing,
- 24:01Speaker 1: But I wanted to see what exactly do y'all do
- 24:04Speaker 1: as far as physical therapy. You know what, what exactly
- 24:07Speaker 1: will I'll be doing? Well when you come in, We'll
- 24:10Speaker 1: do a consultation and you know, will misflage you and
- 24:15Speaker 1: take X raise and put you in a wirlpool tub
- 24:19Speaker 1: and there are several different things that we can do
- 24:21Speaker 1: for you. Okay, is there a certain timeline? I mean, like,
- 24:24Speaker 1: how long would it take before I can get back
- 24:26Speaker 1: to work? Because you know, I've been awful about a
- 24:29Speaker 1: week nine. I'm trying to get back within the next
- 24:31Speaker 1: couple of weeks. But it's taking me, like, you know,
- 24:33Speaker 1: at least thirty minutes to get out of bed because
- 24:36Speaker 1: of my back and my leg. Oh wow, well you
- 24:39Speaker 1: need to come in as soon as possible, because that's
- 24:41Speaker 1: something like that's pretty bad. Okay, Well, let me ask
- 24:44Speaker 1: you this hill. After people get through doing, uh the therapy,
- 24:48Speaker 1: do y'all have happy endings? Happy endings? What do you
- 24:51Speaker 1: mean by happy endings? Happy end is like, you know,
- 24:54Speaker 1: when therapy is over with, you know, do would you yourself?
- 24:58Speaker 1: You know, would you do happy endings at the end? Okay,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'm still not understanding what do you mean by happy endings?
- 25:04Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Okay, say like if I
- 25:06Speaker 1: come over then and go through a session or whatever
- 25:09Speaker 1: for about an hour, when we get through, you know,
- 25:11Speaker 1: when you kind of like, you know, close the door
- 25:14Speaker 1: and and and you know, you know, do happy endings,
- 25:17Speaker 1: you know, and make me feel good. Okay, um, close
- 25:22Speaker 1: the door. I'm still not quite understanding what you mean
- 25:28Speaker 1: by happy ending, sir. Okay, what I'm trying to sell
- 25:31Speaker 1: you is like, when we get through with the procedure, uh,
- 25:34Speaker 1: you know, make me feel good in a in a
- 25:36Speaker 1: nice uh you know, sexual way, you know, happy ending. Uh.
- 25:41Speaker 1: When Judy sent you back to me, what are we
- 25:45Speaker 1: talking about with this happy ending thing? Because I don't don't.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I didn't ask something about to happen? Is that that right?
- 25:49Speaker 1: There was just gonna be between me and you. We'll see.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I don't I don't plan it. I don't know. This
- 25:55Speaker 1: is a place of business. We're professional here. We do
- 25:59Speaker 1: therapy for people who are seriously being hurt. This is
- 26:03Speaker 1: not the nearest for what's talking about happy endings after
- 26:08Speaker 1: we finish with that. What's kind of place do you
- 26:10Speaker 1: think this is? Well? I mean, I know it's I
- 26:12Speaker 1: know it's therapy, but I mean, if people going through
- 26:15Speaker 1: that much pain at least have some type of happy endings,
- 26:18Speaker 1: don't you think? Well, I think you might suggest your
- 26:21Speaker 1: significant other. Okay, so you wouldn't be up for doing
- 26:24Speaker 1: the happy ending for well, No, I'm interested in that.
- 26:27Speaker 1: What man? What kind of this you call about talking about?
- 26:31Speaker 1: You heard? Hell? Have you heard? You shouldn't be talking
- 26:34Speaker 1: about spending? You're talking about it? Okay? Hold long, I
- 26:37Speaker 1: mean you're not talking to me professionally. Well are you
- 26:40Speaker 1: coming at me with this happy ending? Ain't professionally at
- 26:43Speaker 1: all either? What kind of place you ain't? We're running
- 26:45Speaker 1: over here? Okay? Hold on, I was referred to you.
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'm thinking, you know the guy telling me you know
- 26:51Speaker 1: you're gonna take cheviy what God told you like this?
- 26:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry I told you like this. Let you know
- 26:58Speaker 1: what that's not even going to because I don't even
- 27:00Speaker 1: want to bring him into this. Can you satisfy me
- 27:03Speaker 1: out the east? I'm gonna tip you a little bit too, man.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Have you lost your everlasting marble mind? Are you going crazy? Julie? Julie,
- 27:14Speaker 1: who in the hell is this on the phone that
- 27:17Speaker 1: you didn't sit through me thinking this is an happy
- 27:20Speaker 1: ending place. Who is this? Mr Ciliu? She don't she
- 27:23Speaker 1: don't know nothing about the happy ending part. It don't
- 27:26Speaker 1: matter you you the receptionist, you know what, You on
- 27:30Speaker 1: the borderline losing your job because this is hello, Hello,
- 27:34Speaker 1: Mrs Cilia. Can I just tell you who? Who referred me? Who? Who? Who?
- 27:38Speaker 1: In the whold you that I have happy endings for anybody?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Because the person I have happy endings is my husband?
- 27:47Speaker 1: Who is it? Mr? Si nephew Tommy from the Steve
- 27:51Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Your girlfriend Karen got me to prank
- 27:55Speaker 1: phone call you y'all? Who y'all in here? Getting me ready?
- 28:02Speaker 1: I'm about to find my I got folks in the
- 28:06Speaker 1: libbies back. I'd have lost my called me on my job.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I'm a kick cart. Make no sense, Mr Slious. He
- 28:20Speaker 1: told me, she said, my girlfriend patience is short dairy dairy.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Oh it's own. She gonna need her, that's all right.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I got something for her. Oh you got some happy
- 28:34Speaker 1: I got some happy endues for her. You just wait
- 28:41Speaker 1: till you gotta tell me this, baby. What is the
- 28:43Speaker 1: baddest and I mean the baddest radio show in the
- 28:46Speaker 1: Land the Steve Harvey Morning Show. They're about to need
- 28:50Speaker 1: a happy ending every night. And then you know what
- 28:52Speaker 1: I'm saying, Huh, anybody need a happy end in Jim,
- 29:02Speaker 1: You're come on not Yeah, Yeah, I'm not agreeing. I
- 29:06Speaker 1: just said, yeah, everybody need to happen. I'm just not
- 29:09Speaker 1: agreeing to him. Yeah, not that way, your sir. I've
- 29:15Speaker 1: been through the storm both. I don't get to this
- 29:17Speaker 1: side piece. She's gonna love him mad you hear me.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I've been fold days away, ain't been able to get that. Yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 1: is a protest. W h e y, Steve, You're right
- 29:32Speaker 1: fold days old days. On the other side, I think about, Hey, no,
- 29:46Speaker 1: what my bad. Hey, I'm going to Tampa. Let's just
- 29:49Speaker 1: talk about something else. You didn't I feed up me
- 29:55Speaker 1: kill it price. Let's get off this subject to me
- 29:59Speaker 1: with beat up. Don't let the storm fool you. I'm
- 30:02Speaker 1: coming beat up sadday night. I'm the fool at the beginning,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm the fool in the middle, and I'm the fool
- 30:08Speaker 1: right before Frankie will be the tike us on sale
- 30:11Speaker 1: right now. Then talk about something else my band I
- 30:14Speaker 1: didn't kind of Oh I got throwed off my band
- 30:23Speaker 1: were saying that she lives. No, no, I was not
- 30:28Speaker 1: saying that. I'm sorry, don't Yeah, yes, you're listening to
- 30:37Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. A right. President Trump sanked
- 30:42Speaker 1: government officials and emergency response leaders in Texas for their
- 30:45Speaker 1: work in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Trump applauded emergency responders.
- 30:51Speaker 1: He plans to return to Texas this coming Saturday to
- 30:54Speaker 1: visit areas he was unable to get to and to
- 30:56Speaker 1: meet with the evacuees. Here's another issue for the press
- 31:00Speaker 1: it in. However, the September thirty deadline to avoid a
- 31:02Speaker 1: government shutdown is fast approaching, and Mr Trump has signaled
- 31:07Speaker 1: he won't sign a bill to raise the debt ceiling
- 31:10Speaker 1: without funding for his border wall that could have a
- 31:13Speaker 1: number of consequences for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Yes, yes,
- 31:19Speaker 1: are you really kidding me? Yes? So you're gonna let
- 31:22Speaker 1: the government shut down and we don't get the money
- 31:24Speaker 1: for the boarder wall. But you said though Mexico was
- 31:28Speaker 1: gonna pay for them, and Mexico said they were not.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Why don't he pay for the while swipe his car?
- 31:37Speaker 1: Isn't he a billionaire? Use your black and mix and America.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I won't get Okay, I didn't get a gate m hm.
- 31:49Speaker 1: We can run some chicken w dow use my m
- 31:52Speaker 1: m as. We could do some fish post. Yeah, that's
- 32:00Speaker 1: about it. Ain't gonna be high. I'm I got him
- 32:03Speaker 1: money for three foot pope. Yeah, this is a good news,
- 32:06Speaker 1: though FEMOUS essential operations would continue during a government shutdown.
- 32:10Speaker 1: FEMUS Disaster Relief Fund currently has between one point three
- 32:14Speaker 1: billion and one point five billion in reserve, but without
- 32:18Speaker 1: funding beyond septem it will deplete those funds, and relief
- 32:22Speaker 1: checks will likely eclipse that one point five billion mark
- 32:25Speaker 1: fairly quickly. Wow. Just so, did you see the president, Um,
- 32:32Speaker 1: he's getting some backlash about not really addressing the victims
- 32:39Speaker 1: in his speech. Did you see you know that was?
- 32:41Speaker 1: That was because he was thanking all of the first responders,
- 32:47Speaker 1: first responders, the government. Yeah, yeah, the leaders, but you know,
- 32:52Speaker 1: and it wouldn't have been so bad. But then he said, uh,
- 32:54Speaker 1: you know, some Trump supporters came outside and cheering him on.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Really nice crowd. That right there, man made it stick
- 33:06Speaker 1: out even more the fact mentioned the victims. He just
- 33:10Speaker 1: doesn't know how to care about the common man because
- 33:15Speaker 1: he because he's never had to, because he's never been one.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I mean, that's just bottom line. It is hard to
- 33:25Speaker 1: be a great servant if you've never served. I mean
- 33:32Speaker 1: at one point in time. To be a great servant,
- 33:35Speaker 1: you have got to have served something. You know. It's like, look,
- 33:40Speaker 1: if I walk up to a table as a waiter,
- 33:42Speaker 1: having never been a waiter, I'm gonna make a lot
- 33:44Speaker 1: of mistakes because I'm serving people. I ain't been serving nobody.
- 33:49Speaker 1: So now here's a guy that we have who's never
- 33:53Speaker 1: been poor, who's never served anyone, and he's in the
- 33:57Speaker 1: greatest servant capath. I said, because I learned something a
- 34:02Speaker 1: long time ago. In order to be a great leader,
- 34:07Speaker 1: you have got to have been a great servant. That's
- 34:11Speaker 1: that's how it's done. You can't be The greatest leaders
- 34:17Speaker 1: in the world were greater servants. Marm Luther Green gandhi,
- 34:20Speaker 1: Mama Luther King, gandhi. You look at President Obama, he
- 34:24Speaker 1: was a servant. Humility. They have humility, Steve, And we
- 34:29Speaker 1: just got a guy that's in the White House that
- 34:30Speaker 1: has none of that. Man, this dude was a rich,
- 34:34Speaker 1: seventy year old billionaire business guy. That's all He's going
- 34:40Speaker 1: to be we can quit huffing puffing about this, all right, Steve,
- 34:44Speaker 1: Let's bring in miss and she'll she'll give us an
- 34:46Speaker 1: update on the hurricane as well, and I'll be quiet,
- 34:49Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. Here she is, the lovely, the talented,
- 34:52Speaker 1: very own this and trip. Thank you, Steve, Thanks everybody
- 34:56Speaker 1: out there. This is entered with the news. Okay, there
- 34:59Speaker 1: was good news and continued bad news, unfortunately in the
- 35:02Speaker 1: Houston area yesterday. The good news was that the rain
- 35:04Speaker 1: let up, but the bad news is that the flooding
- 35:06Speaker 1: did not. With Tropical Storm Harvey's moved to the east,
- 35:08Speaker 1: conditions also got bad yesterday in Port Arthur and Orange, Texas,
- 35:12Speaker 1: as well as in southwest Louisiana. This woman tells NP
- 35:15Speaker 1: are the people weren't expecting it to be that bad.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Wasn't gonna be at tencause peoples on the west side
- 35:20Speaker 1: and if we just gonna be just like the regular
- 35:23Speaker 1: thunderstorm like we've been heaving. But it wasn't like that,
- 35:27Speaker 1: like a storm I ain't never heard before in my life.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Chance of thousands of people now and shelters across the region.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Port Arthur Mayor Derek Freeman says that the National Guard
- 35:35Speaker 1: and others are doing what they can. We have the
- 35:38Speaker 1: military that's in both cards, that's involved. We have all
- 35:41Speaker 1: city assets right now on helping. We have public works
- 35:45Speaker 1: people driving dump trucks, we have airboats, we have volunteers.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Harvey has now dropped more than fifty inches of rain,
- 35:52Speaker 1: making Harvey responsible for the heaviest tropical downpour ever recorded
- 35:56Speaker 1: in the United States. And now they have the death
- 35:58Speaker 1: toll marked at thirty seven. However, they are still expecting
- 36:01Speaker 1: more bodies to be discovered. Texas native Jamie Fox, that's right,
- 36:05Speaker 1: Jamie Fox. He's hosting a telethon for Texas September twelve,
- 36:09Speaker 1: is going to be broadcast out of New York, Los Angeles,
- 36:12Speaker 1: and Nashville, and other stars are gonna be helping out. Also,
- 36:15Speaker 1: Leonardo DiCaprio's charity has reportedly donated one million dollars to
- 36:18Speaker 1: relief organizations helping the Texas Louisiana area. Okay, Meanwhile, more
- 36:23Speaker 1: of this tropical storm Harvey now putting pressure on the
- 36:25Speaker 1: Congress to work out the future of the federal flood
- 36:28Speaker 1: insurance program. Jersey Democratic Santa Bob Menendez is co sponsoring
- 36:31Speaker 1: a bill that would renew the flood insurance program for
- 36:34Speaker 1: six more years, which is aimed, by the way, also
- 36:36Speaker 1: at reducing future flood damage. Here's the rub. New York
- 36:39Speaker 1: Times reports that only about fifty of homes in the
- 36:42Speaker 1: Houston area, for instance, are covered by National Flood Insurance,
- 36:45Speaker 1: and that that coverage will lapse at the end of
- 36:46Speaker 1: this September unless Congress renews it. Some things just don't
- 36:51Speaker 1: happen very often in Chicago. Recently, a Chicago cop convicted
- 36:54Speaker 1: of violating someone's civil rights by using excessive force and
- 36:57Speaker 1: faces jail time when he's sentenced. Something else doesn't appen normally.
- 37:00Speaker 1: State of Florida recently to actually reinstated the death penalty
- 37:04Speaker 1: nineteen seventy six, it executed a white man for killing
- 37:07Speaker 1: a black man. By contrast, at least eighteen black men
- 37:09Speaker 1: have been executed for killing white men, uh since since
- 37:12Speaker 1: the nineteen Since nineteen seventy six, a federal judge throwing
- 37:15Speaker 1: out Sarah Palin's defamation suit against The New York Times,
- 37:19Speaker 1: and today is College Colors Day. It's also litigating Lawyer's Day.
- 37:23Speaker 1: And it's also take a bite out of the apple Day.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I love apples, anything but apples I also love Eugene
- 37:29Speaker 1: the Butterfly. He's coming up in twenty minutes after the hour.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Stay tuned to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening
- 37:34Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Now. If you want
- 37:37Speaker 1: to help people in the Houston and the New Orleans,
- 37:39Speaker 1: the Gulf Coast area that we're affected by Hurricane Harvey,
- 37:43Speaker 1: please go to red Cross dot org or call one
- 37:46Speaker 1: red Cross, or you can simply text the word Harvey
- 37:49Speaker 1: to nine zero to make a ten dollar donation. All right, Steve,
- 37:54Speaker 1: please introduced the Butterfly. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls
- 38:00Speaker 1: you Good morning everyone, Get morning, Stephen, Shirley, Carla and
- 38:06Speaker 1: Junior time me. Good morning to all of you. Are
- 38:08Speaker 1: good morning and running. It's a beautiful day. I am
- 38:15Speaker 1: very good. I wrote out the storm and we had
- 38:19Speaker 1: we did our rode out the star. We had a
- 38:21Speaker 1: hurricane party with my friends. You know, um Sebastian once there.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Who else was there? Felix was there to the head.
- 38:32Speaker 1: They finally, um you know, hugged and kissing, hugged that
- 38:36Speaker 1: you know they friends again. Good. So anyway, we played
- 38:41Speaker 1: oh now because you know the power was out for
- 38:43Speaker 1: a day or so we played oh Now, we played travel,
- 38:46Speaker 1: we played checkers, and then we then we when it
- 38:49Speaker 1: got rial do we played high and Gonna Seek throughout
- 38:51Speaker 1: the whole house. It was that much fun. You have
- 38:53Speaker 1: to make the best of it. And then we ate
- 38:54Speaker 1: a lot of um allow me sandwiches. It was good.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I text you, Steve, sandwiches with no power for y'all's
- 39:05Speaker 1: brothers know it well, maybe it was everybody was spending
- 39:11Speaker 1: like the same meat. But anyway, we are here fun.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It was good. So we made it to the start.
- 39:15Speaker 1: But see if I tried to text. I tried to
- 39:20Speaker 1: text you and you didn't. Um. You never responded to me.
- 39:24Speaker 1: But I was trying to text you to let you
- 39:25Speaker 1: know I was okay because I felt like he was
- 39:27Speaker 1: probably worried about me. Who are you talking to, you
- 39:31Speaker 1: said Steve. I'm talking, I said, Steven. Yeah, I know.
- 39:38Speaker 1: I didn't look for you, but I checked on caller. Yeah,
- 39:43Speaker 1: didn't check on my boy city. I even called Rashwan,
- 39:48Speaker 1: so you can people here and here. See you didn't.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Of course I checked on my nephew Tommy him and
- 39:54Speaker 1: the family was good. Asked him. Didn't need anything. But
- 39:58Speaker 1: I know I text you, I said, Mr Harvey, I
- 40:01Speaker 1: am fine. I know you're probably worried about me. I
- 40:05Speaker 1: saw that. Oh you did get it, m M, he said, delivered,
- 40:11Speaker 1: it went through. I went out, they went through. Oh
- 40:14Speaker 1: I got it. But what did this say? What was
- 40:16Speaker 1: the last line? And said, I figured you were worried
- 40:19Speaker 1: about me? And then I signed it. Butterfly, I know
- 40:21Speaker 1: That's why I ain't have to respond. Okay. So I
- 40:31Speaker 1: wasn't worried about him. I didn't. He didn't have to
- 40:32Speaker 1: figure that. He figured wrong. That's why he responded, I
- 40:38Speaker 1: know you have figured and figured you knew that. Yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 1: even through a storm, you don't care about me. We'll
- 40:50Speaker 1: be back. You're listening to Steve Morning Show. Lakewood Church
- 40:55Speaker 1: and Houston is now accepting victims of Hurricane Harvey who
- 40:59Speaker 1: need a to shelter. Okay. On Tuesday, Pastor Oldstein tweeted
- 41:04Speaker 1: that is Megachurch, which can hold more than sixteen thousand people,
- 41:08Speaker 1: is providing shelter for hurricane victims. Initially, Pastor Oldstein received
- 41:12Speaker 1: backlash we're not welcoming in evacuees, and he appeared on
- 41:17Speaker 1: Good Morning America to um he wanted to, you know,
- 41:20Speaker 1: just clarify the situation. Take a listen, you know, I
- 41:24Speaker 1: think George, the narrative is that we didn't want to
- 41:26Speaker 1: take people in, or that we didn't open in time.
- 41:28Speaker 1: It's you know, it's totally not true. We were we
- 41:30Speaker 1: were here for people, We were shelter. We were taking
- 41:33Speaker 1: people as soon as the as the floodwaters receded, when
- 41:36Speaker 1: several people came here to take them in. But the
- 41:39Speaker 1: city has a shelter four miles from here. We worked
- 41:41Speaker 1: with the city all the time, and when they're when
- 41:44Speaker 1: they're shelter was totally full. They started bringing people over here.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And here we are agatting today doing it like we
- 41:49Speaker 1: did in two thousand and one when we housed three
- 41:51Speaker 1: thousand people. So I don't know. I think somebody created
- 41:53Speaker 1: that narrative that somehow we were high and dry, and
- 41:56Speaker 1: none of that is true. This building. It was a
- 41:58Speaker 1: safety issue, and we took people in from the very beginning. Alright.
- 42:01Speaker 1: And Pastor Oldstein went on to say, the main thing
- 42:04Speaker 1: is social media doesn't run our lives. Uh, he said,
- 42:08Speaker 1: we run our ministry. We do what we're called to do.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Everyone that's making a difference is going to have critics.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Lakewood Church posted on Facebook that it was inaccessible due
- 42:19Speaker 1: to severe flooding and directed displaced resident two shelters in
- 42:23Speaker 1: the city. The church can hold more than sixteen thousand people,
- 42:26Speaker 1: as I mentioned earlier, due to sheer greatness. It's always
- 42:31Speaker 1: somebody something to say. Man man opened up his church.
- 42:35Speaker 1: He ain't even that type of god. Man. He got
- 42:37Speaker 1: his church over some social media live just like they
- 42:40Speaker 1: made the shocks wimming through the water, Just like they're
- 42:43Speaker 1: doing memes making fun of people that's in the stress.
- 42:46Speaker 1: There's some sick people in this world. Man's church is open. Yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 1: let's move on. He Joel old Stein, the person that
- 42:53Speaker 1: put that up probably ain't doing a damn person that
- 42:56Speaker 1: didn't go to church. Yeah, how about that. Yeah, but
- 43:00Speaker 1: he did receive a lot of criticism. I love what
- 43:02Speaker 1: he said that social media doesn't run our lives. They
- 43:05Speaker 1: run their ministry. I like that, and do what they're
- 43:08Speaker 1: supposed to do. You know, stop it with all the
- 43:11Speaker 1: hate and the ugliness and the negativity on behalf of
- 43:14Speaker 1: Joel old team, cause he can't say it, man, You
- 43:17Speaker 1: can't let him say it. Go ahead, Tommy, Yeah, because
- 43:24Speaker 1: Joel want to say it. You can't know, because no,
- 43:29Speaker 1: for a myriad of reasons. He cannot say that. No,
- 43:32Speaker 1: behalf who can't say it? Come on, kiss Joel behind
- 43:41Speaker 1: Tommy really thought, really careful Tommy more often it was clean?
- 43:52Speaker 1: When was it clean? But he's a pastor. I mean
- 43:56Speaker 1: I don't think he would, you know, necessarily say that,
- 43:59Speaker 1: especially you know that he would not. You don't think Nope, No,
- 44:06Speaker 1: I'm know good and well my pastor say my pastor
- 44:09Speaker 1: did toot basketball against the steel mill. We had a
- 44:18Speaker 1: church team that was in the Industrial League. We was undefeated.
- 44:21Speaker 1: We played against the steel mill Kidsman bar and grill
- 44:25Speaker 1: Ford Motor Company to post office. M hmm. They went
- 44:29Speaker 1: over there, said we're gonna whip y'all church boys like
- 44:31Speaker 1: a bunch of sisies. Y'all lives. Bishop turn around said,
- 44:34Speaker 1: may you can kiss my well? So I went on
- 44:38Speaker 1: back out there, and I was cussing everybody out soft.
- 44:42Speaker 1: We do have to remember that they are human. They
- 44:44Speaker 1: are human. They are human. Uh. A lot of people
- 44:49Speaker 1: are stepping up, you know, to help with efforts in
- 44:52Speaker 1: the Hurricane Harvey. Aftermath, um And and Hunter, Anheuser Busch
- 44:57Speaker 1: Brewery and Georgia stopped anning beer this week to instead
- 45:02Speaker 1: focus their efforts on canning and shipping drinking water to
- 45:05Speaker 1: areas hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. The planets to ship
- 45:08Speaker 1: more than fifty thousand cans of emergency drinking water to
- 45:11Speaker 1: Red Cross shelters, where it will be passed out by volunteers.
- 45:15Speaker 1: So that is good news. Thank you, Annaheuser Busch. Um, Yeah,
- 45:19Speaker 1: that is really good news. Again. If you want to help,
- 45:21Speaker 1: um a lot of celebrities helping and things like that.
- 45:25Speaker 1: If you want to help, go to Red Cross dot org.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Call on Red Cross. You can text the word Harvey
- 45:31Speaker 1: to nine to make a donation. Okay, thank you so much. Yeah, alright,
- 45:37Speaker 1: the Nephews prank phone call is coming up. You're going
- 45:41Speaker 1: on it. Well, we know this. We'll be back. You're
- 45:47Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Show coming up at the
- 45:50Speaker 1: top of the hour, right about four minutes after I
- 45:53Speaker 1: got ready for today's Strawberry letter. But up next, nephew,
- 45:57Speaker 1: what do you have for us on the menu today? Cake? Lady? Cake? Lady?

- 55:02Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Show, all right before we get to
- 55:05Speaker 1: today's crazy Strawberry Letter by the list of celebrities that
- 55:09Speaker 1: are giving back UM is phenomenal and it continues to grow. Uh,
- 55:14Speaker 1: including of course our very own Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart,
- 55:17Speaker 1: The Rock, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Jamie Fox, P Diddy,
- 55:21Speaker 1: Houston's very own Beyonce Yes and her pastor are doing
- 55:27Speaker 1: the thing uh and her charity UM. Anyway, the Kardashians
- 55:33Speaker 1: have really stepped up. They donated half a million dollars
- 55:37Speaker 1: to rescue and recovery operations in Houston. Half of the
- 55:40Speaker 1: money will go to the Red Cross, the other half
- 55:42Speaker 1: will go to the Salvation Army. The donation was made
- 55:45Speaker 1: on behalf of Chris Jenner, along with Kim Courtney, Chloe
- 55:48Speaker 1: Kendall and Kylie Uh. You know, thanks to everyone who
- 55:53Speaker 1: stepped up, everyone you know on this show. Everyone has
- 55:56Speaker 1: come together. I mean this is a healing uh that
- 55:59Speaker 1: the that the country needs right now, you know. And
- 56:02Speaker 1: just to reminder to all of our listeners, you don't
- 56:04Speaker 1: have to be a celebrity to help people out in
- 56:07Speaker 1: Houston the Gulf Coast area affected by Hurricane Harvey. All
- 56:11Speaker 1: you have to do is go to Red Cross dot
- 56:13Speaker 1: org red Cross dot org, or you can call one
- 56:16Speaker 1: eight hundred Red Cross one eight hundred red Cross or
- 56:19Speaker 1: text the word Harvey to nine zero and you can
- 56:22Speaker 1: make your donation a ten dollar donation, a one dollar donation,
- 56:26Speaker 1: five dollars, whatever you can spare to help the people
- 56:29Speaker 1: out in Houston and those surrounding areas affected by Hurricane Harvey. Um,
- 56:34Speaker 1: and he's rescue guys been doing some courage. Yes, we
- 56:37Speaker 1: gotta say thank you to them. Take my hat off
- 56:40Speaker 1: to day and they have been doing it. And you
- 56:43Speaker 1: got you know, neighboring states like Louisiana. Louisa had a
- 56:45Speaker 1: lot of people just loaded up and came over and
- 56:48Speaker 1: helmed us out. Yes, and we've got their boats from
- 56:50Speaker 1: Mississippi and you know, and came through. I mean, just
- 56:54Speaker 1: the volunteers everything. It's been phenomenal how this country has
- 56:59Speaker 1: come together, you know, to help the people. It has
- 57:02Speaker 1: really been phenomenal. So the people that left Louisiana to
- 57:05Speaker 1: come help people in Texas, East Texas, Houston, southern part
- 57:09Speaker 1: of Texas. Now you know, Harvey went back that way
- 57:13Speaker 1: to make landfall again and hit like Charles is very
- 57:16Speaker 1: close to Houston. We're on the air there in like Charles,
- 57:19Speaker 1: so we're praying for our neighbors and like Charleston also
- 57:23Speaker 1: in New Orleans. Cannot deal with any more hurricanes period.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Everyday heroes helping out. Yeah, and you know we have
- 57:34Speaker 1: to continue to keep them in our prayers as well,
- 57:38Speaker 1: you know, because after all of this is over, you know,
- 57:41Speaker 1: then the rebuilding process begins. You know, these people have
- 57:44Speaker 1: to get back into their homes and start you know,
- 57:46Speaker 1: making their lives and living their lives again. So it
- 57:50Speaker 1: doesn't stop when when the rain goes away and the
- 57:52Speaker 1: flooding goes down, It continues. You know, my wife has
- 57:56Speaker 1: a cousin her house floods every single time. Yeah, I
- 58:03Speaker 1: mean every time, and she has to start over, rebuild,

- 58:09Speaker 1: she does it, man, but she got every single time.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I have a cousin the same thing, Tommy. She her.
- 58:15Speaker 1: She lives off A two eighty eight, which is if
- 58:17Speaker 1: you guys don't know Houston, that was one of the
- 58:19Speaker 1: freeways that was underwater. She lives right off the service road,
- 58:24Speaker 1: are off the feet of the water was at the
- 58:28Speaker 1: front door. Every single time it rains like that. She
- 58:32Speaker 1: lost everything everything. It's just it's just devastating. But just
- 58:38Speaker 1: like you know everyone's been singing, you know, we can
- 58:42Speaker 1: get new houses, we can rebuild, you know what, we're here,
- 58:47Speaker 1: we're all here and we pray for those and victims
- 58:52Speaker 1: and their families. But Tommy Jr. We are blessed. And

- 59:40Speaker 1: like d M c Okay, good morning, good, good morning,
- 59:46Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley. I always hear you talk about the women
- 59:48Speaker 1: who are stupid with these dumb, dumb a decisions that
- 59:52Speaker 1: they make over these men. But I need to talk
- 59:55Speaker 1: about these dumb men who make these dumb decisions when
- 59:58Speaker 1: it comes to women. I of a friend that's been
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: married for eight years and separated on and off for
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: six of those years. Right now, he's at the separation stage.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: He has a child by her, and she has one
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: of her own. His wife can call him at any
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: time in all caps, and he goes running, whether it's
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: for a child or for a step whether it's for
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: his child or for his stepchild. She questions where he is,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: and he tells her. She questions what time he has
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: to work, and don't let it be the night shift.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: He has to call her from work to prove to
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: her that he's there, not to mention that every other
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: week that he gets paid, he's over there until nightfall
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: and then asked to leave, of course, after stopping at
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: the store to bring whatever. But it's always something needed,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: not saying that he's wrong for taking care of the children.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: They are. They have not had relations in seven months.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: He don't stay over and she don't come over his apartment,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: but she has a key and he don't have one
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: to her house. But when she calls, oh, he'd better
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: answer or that's an argument right there. Please help me
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: tell my friend that the only reason why she's like
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: this because he's her security blanket and he'd better believe
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: that she's getting hers from somewhere else. About my friend,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: he's the sweetest, to be honest, Steve, he has a
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: lot of your qualities, from opening car doors, taking off
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: girls coat before his own, to carrying all the bags
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: from the store, picking up things from the store. Just
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: to say that I'm thinking of you, know, okay, just
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: to say that I'm thinking of you no special day.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Please help p S Steve. I know how you are,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: and no, I don't want him because I'm happily married
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: for eighteen years. We are just friends, Okay, dear, please
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: help Um. You know you say you may not want
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: him because you're happily married eighteen years. But but there's
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: something going on, because why why why are you all
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: up in these people's business like this? I mean, there's
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: got to be some point where you say, okay, enough,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: especially when he gets to telling you, uh, you know
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: that they haven't had relations for seven months. Um, that
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: is just way too much information. Uh, you know too much.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: You're you're in it too much. He's telling you too much.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: There's got to be a point where you put a
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: stop to him or ask him what's his ulterior motive? Okay,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: he's not with her, you don't want to get with him,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: But does he want to get with you? You know?
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Is he trying to play you know, I'm the lonely man,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: the mistreated husband on you and get you, you know,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: to be with him. You got to think about this
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: stuff as a friend. Just be supportive, stay out of
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: their bedroom, stay out of their business. Twelve minutes after coo, cracker,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: what's up? Okay, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 1:03:38Speaker 1: response to today's Strawberry letter. Let's go. Uh subject. My
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: friend is blind and he can't see Nick's glasses like
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: d m C. Good morning, Stephen Sherley. I always hear
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: you talk about the women who are stupid with these
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: dumb age decisions that they make over these men. But
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: I need to talk about these dumb men who make
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: these dumb decisions when it comes to a woman. I
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: have a friend that's been married for eight years and
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: separated on and off for six of those years. Right now,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: he's at the separation stage. He has a child by her,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: and she has one of her own. His wife can
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: call him at any time and he goes running, whether
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: it's for his child or for his step child. She
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: questions where he is and he tells her. She questions
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: what time he has to work, and don't let him
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: be the night ship. He has to call her for
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: want to prove that he's still there, not to mention
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: that every other week that he gets paid, he's over
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: there until nightfall and then asked to leave, of course
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: after stopping at the store to buy whatever. But it's
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: always something needed, not saying that he's working or taking
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: care of not saying that he's wrong for taking care
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: of the children. They have not had relations in seven months.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: He don't stay over and she don't come over his apartment.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: But she has a kid. He don't have one in
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: her house. When she called, oh, he better answer. That's
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: an argument right there. Please help me tell my friend
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: that the only reason why she's like this is because
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: he's her security. Blank it, and he'd better believe that
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: she's getting here herds from somewhere else. About my friend,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: he's the sweetest, to be honest, Steve, he has a
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: lot of your qualities, from opening car doors, taking off
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: a girl's coat before his on the care and all
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: the bag from the store, picking up things from the store,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: just to say that I'm thinking of you, no special day.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Please help pr Steve. I know how you are, and
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: no I don't want him because I'm happily married for
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: eighteen years. We are just friends. Uh no, you ain't.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: You ain't just friends. Later Shirley is hit it dead
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: on the head. You're in this thing way too deep.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: I bet you if you cared about your marriage the
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: way you care about your friends marriage, you wouldn't have
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: time to care for your friends marriage in eighteen years.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Ain't you got no problems at your house? Everything can't
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: be pech keen at your creb? Not everything? No marriage
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: is so all this time you're applying to him and
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: his all this information, Like Shirley say, you got way
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: too much information. We are just friends. Well you might
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: be just friends, but your show wants something else. And
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: I do think you want the man, and I do
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: think that he is the man that you would love
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: to have. You can tell me you're happily marry, but
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: you can't be. First of all, you two knowsy. Nosy
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: people always got messed up business of their own. Have

- 1:06:30Speaker 1: really really nosy? You ever noticed that day affairs are
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: always jacked up because your business ain't on what he
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: should be, which is your business? Alright, guys, we gotta
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: go email or Instagram. That's your thoughts on today's Strawberry letter.

- 1:06:48Speaker 1: You can also find me on Facebook at My Girls
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Shirley or Shirley Strawberry for our after the show Strawberry

- 1:07:02Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about, Steve, Steve Harvey. People's out there,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: you know what, This is the time where we're really
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: gonna come together. People have been giving money, you know,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: but Judge not less g be judged. I'm gonna say
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: it now. This is only me talking. Get off Joe
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: old Sting because let me tell you what I'm saying
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: that I went to Okay, let me tell you what happened,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: sirles I was in Houston. Carll this is you didn't
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: answer my call for me to go out to Nonswer
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: with you. I want. Oh it was years ago. But girls,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: you know we're cool like that. Now you know my
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: bad man. But anyway, right as the elephant to Julius, Right, girl,
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: we're driving all around Houston's looking around, and I gotta
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: use the bathroom. So we see Lakewood. Now that's a
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: real story. Don't don't laugh at me. That's a real story.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Me and I gos in doing the Houston emprov I saidbody,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: pull off, let's go. That's your old st church. Maybe
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: they'll let us in to use the bathroom. When we
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: walk up to it and pulled the door and it's open,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: first of all, were praising God that is open. Then
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: we run into use the bathroom, bathroom nice and cleaning everything,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: and then we go. Ain't nobody's stopping us, Ain't nobody here,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: ain't nobody walking up to us? Nothing so then we
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: go down to where they do the services, and you know,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: because we want to look around and everything. I didn't
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: take no pisures because I don't believe in that sort
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: of thing. But the church was open and you could
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: walk around it, and they had certain areas that the
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: areas that I saw because I walked all over, it
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: could have been flooded and the front part could have
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: not had the water to be flooded. But let's thank
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: God that he did what he did and marched the
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: troops and people came in. Let's not be judging people
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: right now. Let's come this time, you know. And speaking
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: of judging people from the big bank take little bank. Uh,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I can't twenty five s facks. I don't know. I
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: ain't even gonna lie. I ain't got it like that. Yeah,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: tell me about Kevin hart Child. I was so happy
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: he didn't call my name. Let me tell you. That's
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: keeping right. See, don't come back and tell the talk.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Don't come back into accept m leven. So we're on hiatus.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: We all make money, right, we all make money. That's
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: why we work. That's right. But all of us ain't
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: got that long money. Okay, I'm not even gonna lie
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: to you. I might have twenty, but that cost me
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: five thousands a gift. Am I speaking on in time? Absolutely?
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Because that's right, because you gotta go tax for tax,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: you gotta go dollar for tax and everything. Now, everybody
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: that got it like that, I'm thinking the rock, my boy,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Chris Brown, I'm digging a fact a hundred thousand off
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: the wait, the boy J J. Watts, the football player.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: We're only trying to raise a half a million and
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: gonna go almost six seven minutes. You all right, we
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: gotta go, We gotta You're listening to the Steve Morning Show,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: all right. Last week, Steve, during our health and Wellness Segmentum,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: we talked to your trainer Obie. Today, I found a
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: list of old school weight loss tricks that actually work. Now,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Steve Cee, if you agree with these tricks. Okay, meal prepping,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: meal prepping, yeah that works. But yeah, meal prepping does work.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: So because you have your food there so you don't
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: get caught out hungry and grab something wrong. That's exactly
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: what they're saying. Yeah, and you can pack nutritious snacks okay,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: smaller plates. Yeah, that's good for some people. They're saying.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: They're saying, put the big plate away and use smaller
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: bread plates instead, because you're cool. You still get the
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: food you need, right right, But the average person eats
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: too much food, so smaller plates, it will help. It
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: does help. But if you eat the small plate and
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: you steal hungry, we have another problem. Go ahead, alright,
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: mind tricks. Mind tricks like jumping off the above note
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: about smaller plates. It says, you're never really as hungry
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: as you think you are, so stop before you actually
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: feel really full because you be as hungry as you
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Thank you, but you expend a lot of energy. You
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: have a lot of a lot of stuff to do. Okay,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: here's another one. That's hunger. When your stomach is growling
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: and flipping and starting to eat itself. That's not a
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: mind You know. Sometimes you're in the grocery store and
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: you put every when you're hungry, you put everything in
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: the basket. Yet you know your eyes are bigger than
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: your stomach. Never go grocery shopping when you hu yeah,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: because you will spend eating and you're feeling fool They're saying,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: you don't, you could, You should stop. You don't need
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: to feel stuffed. Yeah, well, stop eating till you can't swallows? Yeah?
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: When Yeah, all right, come on. Plan B. This says,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: if you oversleep or have an unexpected catastrophe, it's easy
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: to revert back to your old ways for convenience. Have
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: a backup plan ready to go. Um, you know, like
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: some good protein bars or something, you know, something like that,
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: maybe some raw nuts or something. Well, a catastrophe. What
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: do they mean by it? Like if you're oversleep and
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: you don't have time to plan your meals. You know, well, okay,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: they're saying a catastrophe. But if you're on a diet, yeah,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey's definitely saying pack put button gen.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: But you don't want to go back on the progress
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: you've made, so just have a backup plan. Has Today's Thursday.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I didn't give you all my report Monday. How about
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: your weight loss? I lost one pound a week before. Alright, son,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: to let me six eight. I've lost nine pounds and
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: four because when I went to Vegas I lost I
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: only lost a pound because when when I got in Vegas,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: I lost my mind completely. You know, I could have
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: stayed with that three pounds, I think, but I got
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: to Vegas Friday afternoon and until Sunday night. Yeah, Sunday night,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I went. I went a little home. He fell off.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: I fell off a little bit, you know, man, I mean, sobody,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: did you say you had a report nephew? Yeah, I
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: gained twelve pounds during the hurricane, so did our nephew.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: We ate so much food it was ridiculous. Because you're
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: stuck in the house and power go out. You just
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: start cooking everything that started throwing out in the freeze.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: Oh okay, yeah, barbecue, yeah, the pit steal on yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: you keep the grill going, all right, Steve. Here's the
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: last one. It's called split. It says eating out is
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: always tricky, so take the trick part out of it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: When you order, have the server put half the meal
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: in a box ready to go. You get half the
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: calories and save money by having lunch the next day
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: ready to roll. So it's called the split method. I
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: don't have my steak in a box, fully get to
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: the table. Half my man's potatoes is in the box.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: The box to the table, I can put it in.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: But Steven, but when we went to lunch, Yeah, when
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: we all went to lunch last week. What you did
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: was order off of a different menu. You know. Well,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: let's just tell it. We all went to cheese factory. Yeah,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: and I ordered off the Skinny Liscious menu, the Skinnylicious Yeah,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: and they actually count the calories for you. So everything
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: on a certain order is under five hundred or four
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: hundred calories. And that's what I did. No, Actually, then
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I didn't eat all of that. Yeah. So you you
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: did a variation of the split, which is you know,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: which is good. Yeah. But Tommy, on the other hand,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: who ordered the fool stuff and then dessert don't get
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: dessert didn't get if we ain't gonna get no cheese,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: that's what they do, right, Yeah, that just doesn't make sense, right,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: I'm not going to go to the pancake house and
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: not getting no pancakes. That don't make no sense. Logic,
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: crabs and not get any crab meat, right Yeah? Alright, Okay,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: a question? Does that include me? Yes? Yeah, because you
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: got to keep it real? Can I also keep it? Yes?
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: This is your show. You know, you could turn out
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: to be my favorite six you love it, Keeping it real,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: keeping it one hundred, that's what we're gonna do. The
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: show today. I just gotta tell you about something that
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: I saw. The story. Uh, it's about Hurricane Harvey. You know,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: we're here in Houston, Tommy and I and just the story.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: We just referred to it after hurricane because you don't
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: like the name. But that's the name of the hurricane
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Hurricane this show. Can we just call it damn hurricane
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: out there? Keep it through you? How many people to
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: text me with day little version of a damn joke? Yeah,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: you said, but he got you at the fight, the
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Mayweather fight and said let up on us, Harvey, or
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: something like won't you let up on phone? Everybody in Texas? Yeah,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: you're talking about don't we ca? Yeah? Alright, you on
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: the map? Actually they got you on the map spinning.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: You ain't seen that one. Coming up next, Carlo's got
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: something she's calling Carlos keeping it one hundred. We're gonna
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: talk about that now. So coming up actually on the
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: damn News, keeping it one hundred with Carlo. We'll be back.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right?
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Coming up Carla in lieu of reality update today since
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Carlos from Houston and everything, and she's down there dealing
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: with hercane Harvey. Uh you you have something called Carlo's
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: keeping it one hundred. Carla, tell us what that's about. Okay,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Shirley Cruz, Steve, everybody, Tommy from Htown, Junior us. You're
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: from Houston as well, So I'm calling this keeping it
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: one hundred. Okay. See, while many members of the media,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: you know, they've become part of the story while covering
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. You know some you've seen
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: reporters helping rescuers and doing all of that. Well, one
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: seeing a reporter, she found out the hard way that
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: putting a microphone into the face of someone's, you know,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: someone suffering might not be the best idea on live TV.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I'm just saying, kept in one hundred. This was just
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: a real moment. This is during a live shot, uh
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: SEINGN reporter Rosa Flores, she attempted to speak to a Houstonian.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: She was in evacuee and she was explaining that she
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: suffered for more than thirty six hours waiting for help.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Take a listen, let me introduce you to Danielle here.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: Daniel you just arrived, share with us how you were rescued.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Some guys had caught our phone and asked us where
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: we were. We was waiting for the police for like
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: tharty six hours and they never came, and we was
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: waiting at the home. We did the white legs and everything,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: and nobody came. But then somebody had caught the phone
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: after we decided to leave the house and we had
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: walked to the games station with the kids and then
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: they had called it came and picked us up. But
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: we had been there like five days, when no food,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: no lights, and nobody came. Like nobody came. Now you're
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: with your children. We've heard of stories of mothers trying
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: to save their children from the rushing waters. Can you
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: tell us how that was four ft of water to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: go get them food on the first day? Yeah, that's
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: a lot. But y'all said here, y'all trying to interview
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: people there in their worst times, Like that's not the
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: smartest thing to do. Like people are really breaking down,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: and y'all sitting here with cameras and microphones trying to
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: ask because what then is wrong with us? And you're
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: really trying to understand with the microphone still in my
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: face when met shivering cold when my kids wet and
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: you're still putting the microphone in my face for us.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: Uh it sound it's like you've got a very upset
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: family there. We're gonna take a break from that and
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: we'll get back to you later on Rush Florest and
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Houston Forest. Thank you what to do right there? Yeah,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: and she was firing him off. Steal No, he was
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: real right away. Yeah, yes, see y'all up and here
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: you dress, got your leut fit on your pumps. You're
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: in interview and me I got some real stuff? Did
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: I just tell you in eight and I just say
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: that children you're steal in it? But this microphone steal
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: in my face? Note now in defense of the reporters. No, no, no, no, no,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: I ain't know a defensive the reporter. See, yes, what
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: happened when you run up into real? Yes, really in trouble,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: you can produce me. Yeah, I'm not fitting right. When
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: I heard thing got to kill of some something to eat,
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: break a window, steal something, I started was walking back,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: had walked down and had to swim them back. I
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: got the kids and I benefit five days. Ain't nobody
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: came got me? Slow as police department. What's what else
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: you want to ask merwa rose Otta look ahire, he's
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: been doing really great work though she's been down. She
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: just caught up. Yeah, she just caught this woman at
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: an emotional, real moment. Who reaction? Y'all want to this
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: calling one hunter? What you play the tape for Steve
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: unless Steve Field? I got the reporter. I happened to
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: like the report. I think she's excellent, but the reporter
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: ran up into some truth. Yes, yes, while you down
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: here trying to interview up. I'm so sorry, but you're
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: still here though your microphone still here. I'm with I'm sure,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: I ain't ate nothing. I'm trying to say the baby.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: Where was y'all at when I was on that damn
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: roof down with the with the flag out? Yeah, thirty
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: six hours she had been waiting, but thank god she's rescued.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: Is that a shelter with her family? But I got
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: interviewed her. Yeah, you got the microphone in my face.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: Did you see the one man that they had in
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: the boat. It was trying to save people? Wait, well
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: I heard something about it. What happened with him? This
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: white guy was in his boat. He was trying to
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: help a lot of people. Get in, get your in
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: the back just get leave all that stuff I can't take.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Get your own ass in. Then he was not playing,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: and he take all that, all the bags, leave it.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Just get your all these backpacks with all the bags
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: and stuff. He was like, I ain't got room for
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: all only your right. Let's see your part of the
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: cage and navy one of those rescuers. Man, I sink,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: ohtow man, that's what they think. Yeah, a lot of
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: people don't know what to take, you know, and their
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: bags are too big. So there's things think about. Tell
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: his sister, tellmar she got to go back to the house.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Get up, picture her dead fall, go down. We gotta go.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: We'll be back at twenty after, Junior. You are right,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. You know, um,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: everyone has a rough day from time to time. Can
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: we all say that everyone? Everyone, cross the board? Yeah, male, female, whatever, rich, poor,
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: You know, we all have a bad day from time
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: to time. And most of us, you know, most of us, Tommy,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: most of us just put on a happy face, stuff
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: our feelings down, and trudge through the day until we
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: can get home and drown our feelings in a glass
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: of wine or a bowl of ice cream, or you
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: know our reality show whatever it is you know that
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: floats or whatever it is. Um anyway, that's what we do.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: But a new study shows that are we holding it?
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Okay exactly? Were cussing as soon as somehow when you
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: start cussing, you relieve all that, were holding all that
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: in the way home and being in a glass of wine,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: drown myself why I can't cuss and then gets some
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: wine later making me understand it or okay, but get
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: naked in your case. But a new study shows that
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: letting yourself be in a bad mood can be better
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: for you in the long run. Tommy, see you're right.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Resear church from the University of California, Berkeley looked at
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: the link between psychological health and accepting your emotions in adults,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: and in three separate studies, it turns out that folks
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: who fought their negative emotions ended up feeling more stressed
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: than those who just embrace feeling down and you know,
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: accepting that they had a rough day. And they says,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: maybe if you have an accepting attitude about negative feelings,
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: you're not giving them as much attention and if you're
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: always judging your emotions, that negativity can add up. It
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: can build up. So Tommy, you agree, appear broad cussing
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: as soon as something how and get that off for you.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Then go home, get nikki, get a glass of wine
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: and walk around your house. That's a stress relief. I
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: don't agree with holding all this in and feeling all
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: that up and it just get just builds and bills
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: and builds, and then you explode. Now you in jail
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: because you had too much tension, too much to you. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: because you didn't let it build up. But Tommy, okay,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: you do all that. I agree with you because that
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: is how you handle it. But you hold grudge. It's Tommy,
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: you don't let anything I do. I haven't seen you,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: not like not y'all. I ain't got no grudges with
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: y'all know. But the people I got grudged with, like
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: my school third Grady, still that third grade, Well you
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: should have took my crayon out of my box I
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: had for the brow was back. I have brown. But
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: when I see y'all, when I see Charles Gibson, it's
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: still all. It's just nothing matter third gg Charles. If
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: you're listening. I have not forgot you all. I thought
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: Tommy was the only one on the show. We don't
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: have no issues. We family, we did, we worked. But
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: now cross me what? Um? You will not get the
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: chance to cross me again. You can't do. My goodness,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: have you ever heard of a word called what? Let
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: me think? Uh? Yeah, we've heard, but we just don't
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: use it on F O R G. I v ye
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: heard what? Because Tommy, I know, I just didn't know
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: that about you, Junior. Yeah, and I'm shot giving somebody.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: I'm okay, let's say that. Let's say somebody took some
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: money from Let's say five hunting. Somebody got me on fire. Huh. Now,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: I'm through fooling with this person. Okay, okay, I'm through
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: fooling with him. I will try and speak to him
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: when I seen him, but I'm gonna keep it moving.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: Let that gut, let that go. Maybe they just really
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: needed it and you were there for them at the
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: time and they didn't know how to deal with it.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: But when you mess over me, I'm to hell through
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: with you. You can't do but I'm not gonna. I'm
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: not gonna let it be no secret. I'm gonna tell
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: you to the face, I'm to hell through with you
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: and I'll cancel, so I don't forget, you know how
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: forgiving Hathn's alright, we'll be back after this. Okay. I'm
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: a Leo and you guys are crazy be broadcasting. Don't.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Don't your sad with you. You're listening to the Steve
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Alright. So, uh, I just you know,
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: every time I think about it, I get speechless. But
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: I'm I'm happy, um too. And because how the country
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: is coming together, you know, that's the other side of it.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: You know, there's there's sadness, of course because of what
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: happened with Hurricane Harvey and the destruction and everything. But
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: to see how these people are just coming together and
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: helping people in these boats, and you know, I mean
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: just it's just amazing to see this country come to
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: That's what this country is all about, you know, that's it.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Neighbors help something else. Let me say something like this
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: is really important to my side piece that keep texting me.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: I can't get to you doing the hurricane. Okay, why
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: why would you text me the whole time? I got
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: to be here with my family. I can't get to
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: you till it's over with. Why would you? Why you?
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: Why are you so selfish like that? Why would you
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: be texting me when you know I got to make
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: sure my family straight? You live on the eight flow
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: you find maybe she feels like she's part of your family.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Now she's your family. Maybe she feels like that. But
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: but but texting me, is anybody by you got a boat?
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: I'm not from the boat my way over that you.
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: I can't bote my way to you. Okay, when I
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: get that everything, you don't have to tell us everything.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: But but but she didn't took it too far, just
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: texting me and sending me sad faces and only emoji
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: thing the look yellow thing with these faces on. Why
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: are you just sending emojis and then gonna send me
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: a picture of a boat? What is that for? I'm
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: not in the boat over there like I'm in the
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: jet ski to her. I'm not going to do that.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: I mean, I can't believe I'm actually going to say this,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: that it's going to come out of my mouth. But
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: you do care about her? Yes, I do. She's safe.
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: Alow she got water on the front, No excuse me water?
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: So are you telling me that you were doing side
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: piece etiquette rules doing an evacuation? Is that what you're
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: telling me? That's what we're doing, you know what, That's
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: what I'm doing. Yeah, listen, side pieces. Let me tell
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: y'all something. The time where we can't get to y'all. Okay,
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: there's a time that you got to really take one
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: for the team. The man, the man fail breaking team.
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: The man is with his family. Okay, now you got
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: you got the respective fact that he's taking kids. Family.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Respected it up at this point. Why she asked you
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: about how your family doing. Thank you? Thank you? I'm
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: in that series. I really am. Whatt's since we're doing
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: side piece and how about us asked me about my
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: wife and kids first? But we get to you selfish?
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: Can you be not surely call it on a series
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: on a serious note? Now on a serious note. First
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: of all, like I said before, we want to take
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: our hat off to all the rescue with all the
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: people that are pitching in and helping out. I'm just
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: trying to make light of it because you know, we've
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: been We've been. I've been in my house for with
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: the same people you got. I got cabin feeb I
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: didn't eat everything. I'm trying. I got the at some jokes.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: I got to do something gets So laughter is healing,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: we get. But tell please come on the house and respect.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back in your job. You're listening
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: to the Steve Show. All right, here's just one more thing. Um.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: You know, we've we have been talking about Hurricane Harvey,
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: of course all week and and all morning, and our
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: hearts go out. We have numbers if you want to
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: give and donate and help people red Cross dot org
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: online or you can call on Red Cross or you
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: can text the word Harvey to nine zero to make
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: your donations. You can also send things, uh, like clothing
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: like baby clothes, like diapers, like blankets like you know, toothbrushes,
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: like toiletrees, things like that for the rescue workers and
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: the victims. You know, Um, can't we use clothing, but
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: they really need to. In addition to that, Shirley is volunteers.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: They need people to help, and I'm volunteering Ashley today
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: and uh on the weekend, I will be down at
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: the shelter volunteering because they have sites set up, but
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: they need the manpower to help distribute these things and
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: help the evacuees and help them get settled and and
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: and feel comfort and you know, try to help everyone
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: get back to some type of normalcy. You know, school
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: was supposed to start. Some people already started school and
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: they were in school for two days and now their
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: schools are underwater. So now they have to reassign kids
