- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things in the true good starting to move
- 0:26Speaker 1: to other stole. I want to join join me. You
- 0:59Speaker 1: gotta use that turn you you gotta turn to turn
- 1:41Speaker 1: them out. Turn you got to turn them out to
- 1:45Speaker 1: turn turn the water the water go. Come come on
- 1:58Speaker 1: your baby, I sure will. Good morning everybody you are
- 2:04Speaker 1: listening to the voice, Come on dig me NW one
- 2:07Speaker 1: and only. Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man, oh man,
- 2:13Speaker 1: oh man. You know what y'all. I mean, really, the
- 2:17Speaker 1: goodness of God is overwhelming if you think about it,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I mean, really really think about it, even when your
- 2:25Speaker 1: circumstance doesn't look so bright, even when you're going through
- 2:30Speaker 1: something that's causing you discomfort, pain, Even in that God's
- 2:38Speaker 1: goodness is actually overwhelming because don't forget why you're going
- 2:44Speaker 1: through this moment. First of all, this too shall pass.
- 2:48Speaker 1: But also secondly, remember man, ain't everything else that you've
- 2:53Speaker 1: gone through that seems so insurmountable at the time, didn't
- 2:57Speaker 1: you get past that too? I mean, it's amazing. If
- 3:02Speaker 1: you really think about it, you don't get stuck on
- 3:05Speaker 1: any one issue your whole life. The only people that
- 3:09Speaker 1: get stuck on an issue they whole life is people
- 3:13Speaker 1: who won't let it go. That's really all it is.
- 3:16Speaker 1: That are people who exist, and you may be one
- 3:19Speaker 1: of them. Oh please, No, I've been guilty of it
- 3:22Speaker 1: myself before. But I learned something that are things in
- 3:27Speaker 1: my past that I just would not let go of.
- 3:30Speaker 1: It was done, it was over with, I was past it,
- 3:34Speaker 1: but I would not let go of it. It was over.
- 3:39Speaker 1: The dude that did it to me didn't exist no more.
- 3:42Speaker 1: The problem that it created didn't exist no more. The
- 3:45Speaker 1: only problem that kept hanging on was I would not
- 3:49Speaker 1: let it go. And man, you can't go forward if
- 3:54Speaker 1: you're gonna keep looking in the past. It's an impossible thing.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It's like driving a car. If you keep looking only
- 4:02Speaker 1: in the rearview mirror while you're driving, you're going to
- 4:05Speaker 1: crash pretty soon. And a lot of people just keep
- 4:08Speaker 1: crashing over and over and over and over because you
- 4:13Speaker 1: won't drive your car you keep looking in the rearview
- 4:16Speaker 1: mirror at the past. Oh woe is me? Oh you
- 4:20Speaker 1: know they did me like that. You know I ain't
- 4:22Speaker 1: been the same since he cheated on me. Oh man,
- 4:25Speaker 1: ever since she stole my money, I ain't been the
- 4:28Speaker 1: same man. She played me and every since that out
- 4:31Speaker 1: and treated women differently. You may have some deeper stuff
- 4:34Speaker 1: going on, like but eventually, guess what, do you understand
- 4:38Speaker 1: that when you have relationship God with God, you can
- 4:41Speaker 1: take that to him too and drop it off and
- 4:45Speaker 1: leave it there. Do you know that He can fix
- 4:48Speaker 1: and heal that. Maybe it's something serious like that that
- 4:52Speaker 1: you need fixing or healing from, a relationship with God
- 4:56Speaker 1: can fix and heal that. But man, I'm on y'all
- 5:00Speaker 1: whatever it is, and I'm not trying to downplay it
- 5:04Speaker 1: or make it act like it wasn't traumatic in your life, because,
- 5:07Speaker 1: oh God, you don't want to you know, you don't
- 5:09Speaker 1: want nobody do that to you because you want to
- 5:11Speaker 1: be the you know, the post to child for misery.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So please don't let me take that from you. If
- 5:18Speaker 1: that's your position, that's your Hall of Fame card. You
- 5:21Speaker 1: hanging on too, I'm the post to child for misery.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Oh no one is more woe than me. Then please
- 5:29Speaker 1: don't let Steve try to take that from you. You
- 5:31Speaker 1: go ahead and hang on to that, But let me
- 5:33Speaker 1: tell you something though. If that's what you're gonna hang
- 5:36Speaker 1: on to, that's what you're gonna always be the post
- 5:39Speaker 1: to child for misery. At one point in time, you're
- 5:41Speaker 1: gonna have to get on the move past it. And
- 5:44Speaker 1: you can sometimes. Man, it's merely a simple thing of
- 5:47Speaker 1: taking it to God and leaving it there. You know,
- 5:50Speaker 1: some people don't have money for therapy. Some people don't
- 5:53Speaker 1: even know who to call for therapy. God is the
- 5:57Speaker 1: best psychologist in the world. He and fix it for you.
- 6:01Speaker 1: There is nothing too hard for God. You know, when
- 6:04Speaker 1: something seems impossible, y'all, God does the impossible all the
- 6:08Speaker 1: time every day. You don't know how I know. I
- 6:12Speaker 1: just look at a couple of basic things. Do you
- 6:14Speaker 1: know that that sun comes up every day in the morning.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It comes up in the east and it sets in
- 6:19Speaker 1: the west. You can't do nothing about that. All you
- 6:23Speaker 1: can wish because you plant your flowers on a certain
- 6:26Speaker 1: side of your house. You can wish y'all all you want.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Then maybe one day He would bring it up out
- 6:31Speaker 1: the northwest. So those flowers with blue namp now it's
- 6:34Speaker 1: gonna come up out the east. And once the sun
- 6:37Speaker 1: hits the horizon, when you look in the water. Like
- 6:40Speaker 1: if you ever out in la and you see the
- 6:42Speaker 1: sun going down. Once the sun once you can visually
- 6:45Speaker 1: see the sun touching the horizon, you have three minutes.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You have exactly three minutes. You can sit there with
- 6:52Speaker 1: your watch. You can time you're three minutes and it's gone.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Three minutes. It's gone. I read that somewhere and then
- 6:59Speaker 1: I went and tried it. It's gone every day if
- 7:03Speaker 1: if it's clear enough, not cloudy. Once the sun touches
- 7:07Speaker 1: the horizon on water, you got three minutes. When the
- 7:11Speaker 1: wind blows, you can't do nothing about it. He can
- 7:14Speaker 1: bring it from the northeast. He can bring him from
- 7:16Speaker 1: the west, he can bring from the south. He can
- 7:18Speaker 1: bring it hard, he can bring it cool, he can
- 7:20Speaker 1: bring it hot. It's certain things that God, God does
- 7:23Speaker 1: the impossible all the time. How those stars sitting up there,
- 7:27Speaker 1: How how can you find these constellations? The big dipp
- 7:30Speaker 1: of the little dip of Ryan the Hunter. Oh that's
- 7:33Speaker 1: God's got nothing you can do about it. You can't
- 7:35Speaker 1: reach them stars, you can't shoot at them, you can't
- 7:38Speaker 1: move them out the way, or Ryan the Hunter's belt
- 7:41Speaker 1: is gonna beat them. Three stars at the angle you can,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you can. You can call it what you want to call.
- 7:44Speaker 1: It's still that's what it is. See, He does the
- 7:47Speaker 1: impossible all the time. He created heaven and Earth. You're
- 7:51Speaker 1: saying that God can't get you through your pass. Somebody
- 7:55Speaker 1: did this to me. It's the worst thing I had,
- 7:58Speaker 1: the worst childhood of anybody. God can't get you pass that.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He can move Heaven, mountains, Earth, he can form the
- 8:06Speaker 1: Grand Canyon, he can make the water come over Niagara
- 8:09Speaker 1: Falls twenty four seven. He can't fix your little bitty
- 8:14Speaker 1: pass yours. It's amazing how people make their problems bigger
- 8:19Speaker 1: than God. Somebody told me one time, stop telling God
- 8:24Speaker 1: how big your problems are, and start telling your problems
- 8:29Speaker 1: how big God is, and go on with your life.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Quit driving your car looking in the rear view mirror.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Ain't nothing back there but your pass. And if it
- 8:39Speaker 1: was hurtful or painful, or something you just felt like
- 8:43Speaker 1: you can't get over, take your problems to God and
- 8:46Speaker 1: leave them there. You hear the old spiritual all you've
- 8:48Speaker 1: heard it, take your burdens to the Lord, leave them
- 8:52Speaker 1: yet all time. But you think that applies to everyone.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But you come on, man, and a lot of people
- 8:59Speaker 1: out there going through much worse than you have and
- 9:01Speaker 1: have overcome it all. Why won't you take the step
- 9:05Speaker 1: to overcome your pass so you can get on with
- 9:07Speaker 1: driving your car. See what God trying to take you.
- 9:10Speaker 1: But it's the trick of the enemy. The enemy tricks
- 9:13Speaker 1: you from seeing your future by having you constantly looking
- 9:17Speaker 1: in your pass. Man, it's a trick of the devil.
- 9:20Speaker 1: If the devil just lets you quit, if he would
- 9:22Speaker 1: just let you get to driving your car, look out
- 9:26Speaker 1: into your future. Your future shows hopefulness. You have hope
- 9:31Speaker 1: when you see the future. But he can keep you
- 9:34Speaker 1: in misery if he keep you looking at your miserable pass.
- 9:38Speaker 1: God looking for you, Man, God would love to hear
- 9:41Speaker 1: from you. Let's spend some time talking to God today. Hey, God,
- 9:45Speaker 1: was happening. It's me. I know I ain't talked to
- 9:49Speaker 1: you in a while, but feel bad about that. But
- 9:52Speaker 1: I need you. He know that. Everybody should say that
- 9:55Speaker 1: prayer all the time. It's cool, all right, show, ladies
- 10:03Speaker 1: and gentlemen, it is upon us another blessed and great day. Lord,
- 10:06Speaker 1: have mercy. Man. Hey, God, I shall appreciate you waking
- 10:10Speaker 1: me up this morning. Man, you can tell him my voice.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I'm glad about it. I appreciate everything you do from it,
- 10:15Speaker 1: all the little things. I thank you for every breath
- 10:18Speaker 1: I take. I think you for every move I make.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I thank you for every step I take. Man, all
- 10:25Speaker 1: and only because of you, I am who I am.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But by the grace of God. Boy, that's my testimony today.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's how I feel like starting this show off this morning.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Shelly Strawberry Colin for real Mississippi Moniticauld Junior kills Faith
- 10:41Speaker 1: the legend, Nephew tom Me this Steve Harvey, what Junior?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Can you come down here and put your minor and
- 10:47Speaker 1: hat on? Need a minor and hat for a second?
- 10:49Speaker 1: All right? What you got? He? Come down here to
- 10:51Speaker 1: my life? Just ask you something, man. You know I'm
- 10:54Speaker 1: in a situation. I want to take exactly what it is.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But I figure it out. Go ahead, Yeah, you'll figure
- 10:59Speaker 1: it out. Talk about losses, man, how do you view losses?
- 11:04Speaker 1: Every loss can't be a loss. It's got to be something.
- 11:06Speaker 1: But I feel like I may be losing in a
- 11:08Speaker 1: situation and it is a dependent upon perspective. Now, what
- 11:12Speaker 1: type of loss? If you're talking about life of a
- 11:15Speaker 1: loved one or just a loss in life for failure,
- 11:20Speaker 1: failure in terms of failure, in terms of failing, losing
- 11:23Speaker 1: this part of the game. In order to understand truly
- 11:27Speaker 1: how to win, you must have been defeated. See if
- 11:32Speaker 1: all you did was win, win, win, win, win, what
- 11:37Speaker 1: would you know? So when life does what it does
- 11:41Speaker 1: to all of us, which entails a number of things,
- 11:46Speaker 1: that ever, flows of life, the ups and downs. When
- 11:49Speaker 1: you in the down moment, it's when you learn how
- 11:54Speaker 1: to get up. You got to fall to learn how
- 11:57Speaker 1: to stand up. You got to crawl before you walk.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You need the laws to teach you how to survive
- 12:05Speaker 1: them and how to when you get up to appreciate.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And then once you've lost before you now gain the
- 12:13Speaker 1: experience for the next time those evid flows of life
- 12:17Speaker 1: come your way. You have experience with dealing with them.
- 12:20Speaker 1: And it doesn't make it. Doesn't make it, You just
- 12:23Speaker 1: get better at handling the losses. The losses are part
- 12:27Speaker 1: of the process. Losses and failures are part of becoming successful.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Those who don't want to lose or fail should go
- 12:35Speaker 1: somewhere and try not to try. Goos it down and
- 12:44Speaker 1: try not to try, because if you try it, you
- 12:49Speaker 1: are going to suffer a loss and you are going
- 12:52Speaker 1: to fail. I go to my favorite thing. Michael Jordan
- 12:55Speaker 1: took nine hundred some game winning shots. Michael Jordan only
- 12:59Speaker 1: made a some moment. He's the greatest basketball player ever.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Lil tell me what you're talking about. A baseball player
- 13:06Speaker 1: gets paid tens of millions of dollars a year to
- 13:10Speaker 1: go up to the plate and become successful. Three out
- 13:13Speaker 1: of ten times, he only gets three hits out of
- 13:16Speaker 1: ten attempts at the back he batted three hundred. You
- 13:18Speaker 1: bat three hundred. Baby. In life, your ass can make
- 13:21Speaker 1: tens of millions of dollars. The losses are part of
- 13:25Speaker 1: the process. All the jokes you write ain't gonna be funny,
- 13:29Speaker 1: thus making the ones who do a lot more important.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Thank you, all right, thank you for that life lesson.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Coming up at thirty two minutes after the hour, the
- 13:40Speaker 1: nephew is on deck with run that prank back right
- 13:43Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right, It is time to
- 13:48Speaker 1: start your morning off with the nephew and run that
- 13:50Speaker 1: prank back what you got for his nef We are
- 13:53Speaker 1: headed to the club because it is time for Chopper's
- 13:58Speaker 1: funern Catdog. If you would, Yeah, I'm trying to reach
- 14:03Speaker 1: your James. James James, Yeah, yeah, what's up. Hey, this
- 14:08Speaker 1: this is a Gerald. I was a friend of uh
- 14:12Speaker 1: uh your your friend Chopper. Yeah, and the Chopper just
- 14:17Speaker 1: uh passed away last week, right, yeah? Yeah, I know
- 14:21Speaker 1: they posed how the funeral and stuff over at uh
- 14:24Speaker 1: at mom Baptist Church and uh, I don't really know you,
- 14:28Speaker 1: but me, me and me and Chopper and a bunch
- 14:30Speaker 1: of rest us. Man, we used to hang out at
- 14:32Speaker 1: the club not too far from the house, you know,
- 14:34Speaker 1: that's pretty much where Chopper wood all the time. And
- 14:37Speaker 1: at the club anyway, what a bunch of us was
- 14:40Speaker 1: over at the club talking man, and I was we
- 14:42Speaker 1: was really want to reach out to one of the
- 14:44Speaker 1: family members, you know, and then somebody said you was,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you know, kind of a good friend of Hells. And
- 14:50Speaker 1: when we we we we decided to call you and
- 14:53Speaker 1: see if you didn't mind. Do you think that you
- 14:56Speaker 1: can talk to uh some of the family members and
- 15:01Speaker 1: see if they don't mind having the funeral at the club.
- 15:06Speaker 1: At the club. See what, let me let me try
- 15:08Speaker 1: to explain something to you, Jane. What we're trying to
- 15:12Speaker 1: do is, see, we believe that we believed you said
- 15:15Speaker 1: at the club. Come on the club, there's a funeral.
- 15:20Speaker 1: That's what I understand it. But see, see Choppa ain't
- 15:23Speaker 1: really go to church a whole lot. You know what
- 15:24Speaker 1: I'm saying, He didn't really really go long as I've
- 15:27Speaker 1: been knowing him. Now, he loved a Lord and stuff
- 15:29Speaker 1: like that, folks, I understand. But see Chopper wouldn't Chopper,
- 15:37Speaker 1: Chopper went to the club. So what I'm asking you will,
- 15:40Speaker 1: let's have the funeral at the club. Hell, no, bro,
- 15:44Speaker 1: come on, we can't have no funeral at no club. Man,
- 15:47Speaker 1: Come on, No, No, I can't. But but what what
- 15:50Speaker 1: I'm saying is, though, is that he wasn't really he
- 15:54Speaker 1: wasn't really no church going person. I believe that a
- 15:57Speaker 1: person ought to be the last words are to be
- 16:00Speaker 1: said over him in a place he's more familiar with.
- 16:03Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, player, player, No, I don't.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I don't know what you mean. Player out. No, just
- 16:08Speaker 1: just gotta be a funeral. This This is this is church.
- 16:11Speaker 1: For I go to church and all my folks go
- 16:13Speaker 1: to church. Now we gotta do this thing up in church.
- 16:15Speaker 1: This is a church saying. But do you understand where
- 16:17Speaker 1: I'm coming from No. That man ought to going on
- 16:20Speaker 1: and and the last words are to be in a
- 16:22Speaker 1: place he more familiar. Now if he went to church,
- 16:24Speaker 1: then I understand that you see him broll no no, See,
- 16:28Speaker 1: this is a chance to get itself right, and we don't.
- 16:31Speaker 1: We don't have him up in church in front of everybody.
- 16:34Speaker 1: You know, that don't make sense? Who's this again? I mean,
- 16:38Speaker 1: who are you? My name Gerald? But who is Gerald?
- 16:41Speaker 1: I mean, how do you how do you relate to this?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Are you preach your are you no? No? Are you no? No? No, no,
- 16:48Speaker 1: I'm I'm I was friends with Chopper and see I
- 16:50Speaker 1: hung out at the club and still hang out there
- 16:53Speaker 1: with a whole bunch of us. You know, was real
- 16:55Speaker 1: good friends with Chopping. And we were saying that, you know,
- 16:59Speaker 1: Chopper's ass words about Chopper or to be said at
- 17:02Speaker 1: the club or see that's what Choppa would but five
- 17:05Speaker 1: six days a week, that's what Choppa was. But what
- 17:08Speaker 1: church are you affiliated with? I mean what I want
- 17:10Speaker 1: to heal? What I try to talk to the family.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Make me look stupid in front of the family telling
- 17:16Speaker 1: them to put the thing in a club? How do
- 17:18Speaker 1: that gonna go off? Well? See see, that's what I'm saying.
- 17:21Speaker 1: You know them way more than we do, because you're
- 17:23Speaker 1: talking about trying to move from a damn funeral add
- 17:26Speaker 1: a church to a damn nightclub or strip club or something. No, no,
- 17:29Speaker 1: no strip club, just a nightclub. It's the same, man,
- 17:32Speaker 1: ain't it. I mean you talking about having folks travel
- 17:36Speaker 1: from across the country and meeting into the damn club.
- 17:39Speaker 1: What kind of that? But that's what Choppa was. That's
- 17:41Speaker 1: what Choppa was. I'm gonna look, if I'm the one
- 17:45Speaker 1: telling them to root it to the damn club, You're
- 17:48Speaker 1: gonna look like somebody that's trying to I'm gonna look
- 17:50Speaker 1: like a fool. No, You're not. You're gonna look like
- 17:52Speaker 1: somebody that's trying to keep it real. Mean, come to
- 17:55Speaker 1: the damn funeral if I will do something like that. Okay, okay,
- 17:58Speaker 1: let me ask you this, hitting do you think do
- 18:00Speaker 1: you think you can maybe get the body and bring
- 18:04Speaker 1: it over to the club. No, No, well, I'm just
- 18:08Speaker 1: saying before they even do the funeral or whatever. Hell no,
- 18:11Speaker 1: I ain't touching getting the walk in the dog by
- 18:15Speaker 1: my body for hell no. We're just trying to say
- 18:19Speaker 1: our last words at Chopper Man in a place that
- 18:22Speaker 1: Chopper most no heller again? Who you you get my number?
- 18:27Speaker 1: Somebody at the club had your number, said you was print.
- 18:30Speaker 1: But why do y'all call me? Of all folks, y'all
- 18:34Speaker 1: call me, they say you good? You in with the family,
- 18:37Speaker 1: and you can tell me the family. But I ain't
- 18:38Speaker 1: end in the family. Make me look stupid? Hell now,
- 18:42Speaker 1: won't y'all I get all of them to the family.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Y'all call the family. Y'all killing that yourself? Man, I won't.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I just want trying to get you to brain the
- 18:50Speaker 1: body by man and let us no, I ain't touching
- 18:53Speaker 1: no dead body. We just want to have one last
- 18:56Speaker 1: drink with Chopper Man. You have one with your boys,
- 18:58Speaker 1: and you get together with him and y'all talk about
- 19:02Speaker 1: bottom and let him know. I Chopper water what kind
- 19:05Speaker 1: of prison? Me? What? What kind of prison? But we
- 19:07Speaker 1: need to we won't chop up to be there this Chopper,
- 19:10Speaker 1: This is Chopper you talking about man. Bring y'all to
- 19:13Speaker 1: the church. Y'all need to be up in the church.
- 19:16Speaker 1: We want to have a Chopper at the club. Well
- 19:19Speaker 1: we didn't know him all man, y'all full of well
- 19:21Speaker 1: we know goup looking like a food at the damn funeral?
- 19:26Speaker 1: What this about Chopper though? And then I'm writing about Chopper.

- 20:21Speaker 1: I can't even believe he did that. Hey man, I
- 20:23Speaker 1: got one more thing to ask you, man, what is
- 20:26Speaker 1: what is the baddest radio show in the land, The
- 20:30Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Moaning Show. I'm through with it. You ought

- 20:51Speaker 1: the top of the hour, and entertainment news, comedian and
- 20:55Speaker 1: rapper t I went off on comedian Laura Knight after
- 20:59Speaker 1: she made a joke about his sexual assault allegations. And
- 21:02Speaker 1: in other entertainment news, Jada Pinkett Smith reportedly wishes her
- 21:06Speaker 1: husband Will didn't slap Chris Rock What. Plus Courtney Knel girl,
- 21:14Speaker 1: where is this? I know? Plus Courtney Kardashian and Travis
- 21:19Speaker 1: Barker are married. We'll talk about all of these stories
- 21:21Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, but right now it
- 21:23Speaker 1: is time to ask the CLO Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey.
- 21:29Speaker 1: This one's from Zoe and Louisiana. Zoe writes, my mother
- 21:32Speaker 1: has been married to my stepfather for seven years, but
- 21:35Speaker 1: I caught her and my biological father in the showers
- 21:39Speaker 1: Sunday night. I stopped by her house after she told
- 21:42Speaker 1: me she wasn't feeling well. I walked in the bathroom,
- 21:45Speaker 1: but they didn't see me, so I bolted out of
- 21:48Speaker 1: the house. Should I tell them what I saw or not?
- 21:52Speaker 1: That is a question. Well, I don't think you should.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I mean, you saw it. What business is it of yours?
- 22:01Speaker 1: I'm just trying to figure it out. But this is
- 22:04Speaker 1: your mama. Your mama been married to your stepdaddy for
- 22:07Speaker 1: seven years. You walked in and you saw her in
- 22:09Speaker 1: a shower with your daddy. They have done that before.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Mama just catching up, that's all, That's what's what. But
- 22:19Speaker 1: what would she say though to them? There's nothing you
- 22:22Speaker 1: can't Mama saw you in that with daddy, And how
- 22:27Speaker 1: that sound with you? The fact that that ain't her
- 22:32Speaker 1: husband right now? That ain't none of your business. Ye see,
- 22:36Speaker 1: this is life. All is what you ain't gonna ever do.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I remember one time my brothers was talking to me.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I was about nine, ten years old, and I heard him,
- 22:44Speaker 1: my two big brothers, talking about girls and what they
- 22:47Speaker 1: was doing. And I said out loud, I never do
- 22:51Speaker 1: that with a girl. And they looked at me and said,
- 22:56Speaker 1: if you don't shut your dumb mans up, said boy,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know you ain't even had a girl yet. When
- 23:04Speaker 1: you get a girl, boy too, you ain't fitting to
- 23:06Speaker 1: do this with no girl. Bore you. I can't even
- 23:09Speaker 1: tell you what they told me. But it turned out
- 23:11Speaker 1: to be so true. Okay, okay, all right, karma. An
- 23:16Speaker 1: Oxford writes, My boyfriend is on a health kick and
- 23:20Speaker 1: always on my case about eating junk food. I saw
- 23:23Speaker 1: a Kroger receipt in his car and he had bought
- 23:26Speaker 1: a snicker and a coke. I jokingly told him that
- 23:29Speaker 1: I found the receipt, and he got mad and said,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I can't be trusted because I went through its personal belongings.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Was it really that serious? Hell no, hell no? That asis?
- 23:41Speaker 1: And what he tripping forth? Is he that big of
- 23:44Speaker 1: a liar where he want to maintain the heat healthy
- 23:47Speaker 1: all the time. Let me tell you something. I don't
- 23:50Speaker 1: know a living soul that eats perfectly healthy all the time. No, right,
- 23:57Speaker 1: hard to turn down a snicker. I sat down down
- 24:00Speaker 1: with a vegan. Have known this brother to be a
- 24:03Speaker 1: vegan for years. His ass is eating chicken ways with
- 24:07Speaker 1: me one day. A vegan. Yeah, And he told me,
- 24:12Speaker 1: he said, hey, man, I just man, I'm gonna try.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I ain't he one one man? They smell so good.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I didn't judge you. I thought you was vegan. You
- 24:20Speaker 1: are vegan, But all that dog now, I ain't saying
- 24:23Speaker 1: vegans is eating meat because a lot of them ain't.
- 24:25Speaker 1: But you eat unhealthy foods. Vegan's gonna eat some unhealthy
- 24:30Speaker 1: tough and I got some news for you too. All
- 24:33Speaker 1: Vegan food ain't that good for you. Some of the
- 24:36Speaker 1: stuff is excessive in a lot of areas. So if
- 24:40Speaker 1: any any if you once you overdo anything, it's bad
- 24:43Speaker 1: for Do you know you can drink too much water? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 24:48Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, so you know, go ahead, shut all right.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Moving on to Ella in Kansas. Ella says, I'm a
- 24:56Speaker 1: sixty six year old single woman and I met a
- 24:59Speaker 1: man that's my age. But he's a lot to handle
- 25:02Speaker 1: in the bedroom. He's on the pills that give you
- 25:05Speaker 1: vitality and he doesn't need any help with that at all.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Every time I huh, go ahead, every time I turn around,
- 25:14Speaker 1: he's got that thing of his out pointing it at me.
- 25:18Speaker 1: What please, hell down? Summer down? Yeah, yeah, too much,
- 25:29Speaker 1: he don't. It's too much. Go allen. You can stop
- 25:33Speaker 1: seeing him. You can stop seeing him. Now there's the
- 25:36Speaker 1: other side to that coin. Now you can be one
- 25:40Speaker 1: of the old ass dudes where the pill don't work
- 25:43Speaker 1: or don't nothing work, and then y'all just sitting up
- 25:44Speaker 1: there knitting front, poach front, poach, sitting up there doing
- 25:49Speaker 1: stuff he don't even really careful, you know, making dolls,
- 25:53Speaker 1: making doll you know, take this guilt, this glorious gift.
- 26:00Speaker 1: You can play the hookie polking. You know, you know,
- 26:03Speaker 1: y'all key, y'all get you know. Look, look, look, look, look,
- 26:07Speaker 1: you know you're old. You need some activities. Well you
- 26:10Speaker 1: know what he ain't for you? Then gone back. You
- 26:13Speaker 1: like being single, you're sixty six, go ahead, and he's
- 26:17Speaker 1: sixty six. He finn't get this right though. She just
- 26:23Speaker 1: wants him to simmer down. Load and five ain't no
- 26:28Speaker 1: simming down. So that's it. Leave him. She can't handle him.
- 26:35Speaker 1: She wanted him to simmer down. Yeah, but I'm but
- 26:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you not now, because I got a
- 26:41Speaker 1: lot of friends, and I know you don't had many
- 26:44Speaker 1: discussions about these pills. Listen to me. You build up
- 26:48Speaker 1: a tolerance. If you keep on, you're gonna build up
- 26:52Speaker 1: a tolerance. What used to be one peal gonna have
- 26:56Speaker 1: to be two pell And if you're getting the prescription,
- 26:59Speaker 1: feel appeals his expensive there's two thousand dollar appeals now, cheriance. Yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 1: he gonna keep on. He's gonna buy himself now, he
- 27:13Speaker 1: gonna mess around. He gonna buy himself out the situation.
- 27:19Speaker 1: That's an expensive hap price his ass right on out.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Oh okay, you got it. Hang on in there, ella, man,
- 27:28Speaker 1: he got it out all right. Here we go Shandersia
- 27:37Speaker 1: and Lexington says, I'm twenty seven years old and I'm
- 27:41Speaker 1: dating a man that just got married. He was a
- 27:43Speaker 1: single dad when we met, and he never told me
- 27:46Speaker 1: he was getting married. The wife moved in with him,
- 27:49Speaker 1: and he introduced me as the babysitter. I love his kid,
- 27:53Speaker 1: and I think I can remain professional and keep the job.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Should I quit or stay? Girl, It's no way you're
- 28:02Speaker 1: gonna be able to keep this up. You think that
- 28:04Speaker 1: woman is a fool. You think she ain't gonna know.
- 28:09Speaker 1: You think the dude you're dating is that brilliant? His
- 28:13Speaker 1: dumbass talking about you the babysitter. What what the babysitter?
- 28:21Speaker 1: She gonna get tired and looking at the babysitter, look
- 28:24Speaker 1: like you. You gonna get tired of being the babysitter.
- 28:30Speaker 1: He gonna leave something somewhere. This is this is a
- 28:35Speaker 1: disaster waiting to happen. This kid don't say something, Mama
- 28:43Speaker 1: when you ain't here, Daddy be coming back home. They
- 28:45Speaker 1: being the dead room, all right, thank you, feel coming
- 28:52Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour. We got some
- 28:53Speaker 1: entertainment news for you right after this. You're listening, okay.
- 29:01Speaker 1: So t I went off um after comedian Lauren Knight
- 29:06Speaker 1: made a joke about the sexual assault allegations. Lauren said
- 29:10Speaker 1: that she clapped back because TI heckled her over and over.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Take a listen to TI first, and then take a
- 29:16Speaker 1: listen to Lauren's explanation was it is nothing to George before. No, No,
- 29:33Speaker 1: I stand on what I said. If you're a comedian
- 29:36Speaker 1: eings up for jokes about me all day and I've
- 29:39Speaker 1: been laughing at some of it, nothing's off limits, nobody's special,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and please don't walk upon me again. I'm mad, dangerous.
- 29:45Speaker 1: This is not rat beef. I am not little flip.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I ain't got no problem with TiO. Okay, what's going
- 29:52Speaker 1: on in the commented world, and I ain't time. Everybody's
- 29:57Speaker 1: so sensitive, little tense out there? What's going on? King
- 30:04Speaker 1: of Comedy? Yeah, well, wow, here's my take on it
- 30:08Speaker 1: right here. I did understand that t I was heckling
- 30:13Speaker 1: the girl. That's what that's that's not even that's what
- 30:19Speaker 1: she said. That's not what we do in comedy. Never
- 30:23Speaker 1: in my entire career been heckled by a comedian that
- 30:28Speaker 1: was sitting in the audience. I've never had a comedian
- 30:31Speaker 1: heckle me. But that's but but you can't bring that
- 30:37Speaker 1: element to the game because we don't. We really don't
- 30:40Speaker 1: do beef very very nine. And you see two comedians
- 30:43Speaker 1: going at it, but we very rarely ever do beef
- 30:45Speaker 1: just any wrapped we we we we can't do that. Uh. Secondly,
- 30:51Speaker 1: to go up on the stage snatch the mic from
- 30:54Speaker 1: the girl all is here, that's just that's just not
- 30:58Speaker 1: how it's done. Man. You know the girl on stage,
- 31:02Speaker 1: You didn't got up out your seat. You you going
- 31:05Speaker 1: back and forth with her. And I could tell by
- 31:08Speaker 1: the reaction of the audience this was a very uncool moment.
- 31:13Speaker 1: There was no last going back and forth, and so
- 31:16Speaker 1: I just think it was an uncool last moment, a
- 31:19Speaker 1: really really uncool last moment for curs coming. I see,
- 31:26Speaker 1: is it true what she said? Nothing's awful limits urge, nephew,
- 31:31Speaker 1: I mean, you're not special? Is that true what she said?
- 31:35Speaker 1: As a comedian, Steve Guys, it depends on the comedian.
- 31:38Speaker 1: To our comedian Sam Kennison, nothing was off limits, including
- 31:43Speaker 1: the Lord God Almighty. I mean, there's some cats that
- 31:46Speaker 1: do believe that whatever they do is right. There are
- 31:49Speaker 1: limitations for me. You have a line, Timmy, you got
- 31:52Speaker 1: a line. You guys got do y'all have a line? Always? Yeah?
- 31:56Speaker 1: I mean my line is the edge of that stage
- 31:59Speaker 1: and you've been walking answer. That's when my landing did
- 32:01Speaker 1: not walk up. I just meant in your routine out
- 32:05Speaker 1: of yes, I'm sorry. You can't talk to ain't management.
- 32:11Speaker 1: You can't talk to I am that's whe all. I
- 32:15Speaker 1: am on our sure wheel. I am ain't manage. Oh no,
- 32:20Speaker 1: you know what like I mean, I think I think
- 32:25Speaker 1: he was out of line on this one. He really was.
- 32:28Speaker 1: He was out of line on this one. You may
- 32:30Speaker 1: not have liked what the girl said, right, And is
- 32:34Speaker 1: it changing? Is it starting to change? Of course, political
- 32:39Speaker 1: correctness has changed comedy forever now now is you can't
- 32:46Speaker 1: talk about nothing I don't want you to talk about.
- 32:49Speaker 1: So that's what it's about. Oh huh, I see. But
- 32:53Speaker 1: the number one the number one thing that never got bridge.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Comedians always respected the art form of each other. If
- 33:02Speaker 1: that's what you're gonna talk about, that's on you. I've
- 33:05Speaker 1: had the poor comedians all stage behind the stage and say, hey,
- 33:09Speaker 1: look if you continue down that line of joking with
- 33:15Speaker 1: me and you can't work together, so their content to
- 33:19Speaker 1: give them a yeah, because if if I'm the headliner
- 33:23Speaker 1: and you on my show and you out there in
- 33:25Speaker 1: front of me doing some stuff that's that's not and
- 33:29Speaker 1: I mean real vile, real vile. I'll come and speak
- 33:33Speaker 1: to you and give you a chance to fix it.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But if you tell me this how I work, then
- 33:37Speaker 1: you won't be working with me no more. Because when
- 33:39Speaker 1: you get after the audience as mad as hell, ah
- 33:42Speaker 1: dog dog, I've had an audience. Tell me I'm talking
- 33:46Speaker 1: about when I was major. I'm talking about after the
- 33:49Speaker 1: Kings of Comedy, still selling out arenas Steve. If you
- 33:53Speaker 1: wasn't coming out here next we went home, changes the
- 33:59Speaker 1: mood and everything, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, all right, let's get
- 34:06Speaker 1: to this next story. Um, Jada Pinkett Smith. If you
- 34:10Speaker 1: guys haven't heard Jada Pinkett Smith, UM doesn't think it
- 34:13Speaker 1: was necessary for Will to get physical in order to
- 34:16Speaker 1: defend her at the Oscars, and she says they're both
- 34:19Speaker 1: in agreement. That will overreacted. Now. This is according to
- 34:23Speaker 1: US Weekly. A source told the magazine she is not
- 34:26Speaker 1: one of those women who needs protecting talking about Jada now, um,
- 34:31Speaker 1: and he didn't need to do what he did. She
- 34:33Speaker 1: didn't need protecting. She's not a wallflower, the source continued.
- 34:37Speaker 1: She's a strong woman, an opinionated woman, and she can
- 34:41Speaker 1: fight her own battles, but she will stand by him.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Excuse all of it, girl, Pause, Jada, I don't need protecting.
- 34:58Speaker 1: I'm a strong woman. I'm not a wall flower. I'm
- 35:02Speaker 1: an opinionated woman. I'm an opinion But at the Oscars,
- 35:05Speaker 1: none of that was on display. All I saw was
- 35:09Speaker 1: the delicate wallflower with an expression on her face that says,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I need and want somebody to do something for me.
- 35:20Speaker 1: That's what it said there. And when it came on stage,
- 35:24Speaker 1: all the lights because he was laughing at first two.
- 35:26Speaker 1: He looked over there and saw that her feelings were hurt. Well,
- 35:30Speaker 1: all right, all right, coming up, thank you, thank you.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Coming up, we'll have more of a Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 35:38Speaker 1: and we'll talk about Paula Patton frying chicken. Right, after
- 35:41Speaker 1: this what you're listening to? Show? Actress Paula Patton recently
- 35:48Speaker 1: shared her mom's fried chicken recipe on Instagram. Oh lord,
- 35:52Speaker 1: and in case you missed it, in the video, Paula
- 35:55Speaker 1: makes a couple of questionable moves. First of all, she
- 35:59Speaker 1: didn't wash the long enough. Then she put the unseasoned
- 36:03Speaker 1: chicken in the flower, and then she sees in the
- 36:07Speaker 1: chicken while it was frying in the grease. Wow season grease. Yeah,
- 36:19Speaker 1: you also talk about mit s. Surely one other bad
- 36:26Speaker 1: cook does not release you from me. You've never fried chicken? Really,
- 36:35Speaker 1: no chicken? All right? Now? Listen to this. Reactions to
- 36:39Speaker 1: her video were so bad that Paula had to respond,
- 36:43Speaker 1: take a listen. I just wanted to respond and say, listen,
- 36:46Speaker 1: I get it. It might look crazy. It is the
- 36:48Speaker 1: way we do it. My mom taught me. It is
- 36:51Speaker 1: my mom's recipe. I do believe in washing the chicken.
- 36:54Speaker 1: And maybe where the video was edited, it looks like
- 36:57Speaker 1: I don't wash it long enough. But I definitely do
- 36:59Speaker 1: because I feed it to myself and I fitted to
- 37:01Speaker 1: his whole school that that's I made. I made it
- 37:03Speaker 1: for his school. Um. But anyways, it's all good because
- 37:06Speaker 1: everybody's got their own way of making things. And I'll
- 37:08Speaker 1: take suggestions. We're gonna give you some pad Hold hold on,
- 37:15Speaker 1: I'm looking at the video right now. Let me ask
- 37:17Speaker 1: you a question. The chicken that's on the stove when
- 37:22Speaker 1: uh huh, when didn't start frying in the grease? Just
- 37:29Speaker 1: getting seasoned? Yeah? Right, she was gonna get the point
- 37:34Speaker 1: to me if the grease wasn't hot enough to fry
- 37:36Speaker 1: the chickenish you it ain't. As soon as you dropped
- 37:39Speaker 1: that chicken in, you got damn did get back? Yeah? Yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 1: even I know that. How many years did Robbin eat
- 37:48Speaker 1: chicken like this? But you noticed they she did say
- 37:52Speaker 1: no about the kids at the school. They didn't They
- 37:53Speaker 1: didn't get back a good report. The kids didn't say
- 38:00Speaker 1: M's recipe. That's how she does it. So hey, well, Paula,
- 38:05Speaker 1: we got the season the chickenfour We put it in
- 38:08Speaker 1: the flower. Yeah, I like Paula. Patt need to call
- 38:12Speaker 1: Paula flowers. The flower has some seasoning in it. No,
- 38:20Speaker 1: some seasoning can even go in the flower. It's just
- 38:26Speaker 1: that's the whole concept between behind shaking bake. Some season
- 38:30Speaker 1: is in the flower. Yeah, but that's not what had
- 38:33Speaker 1: happened right here. Yeah, he's standing over that grease sprinkling.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you right now, don't try that, y'all.
- 38:41Speaker 1: What you saw do that? That's not how you coming up.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Coming up at thirty four minutes after the hour, we're
- 38:47Speaker 1: gonna check Steve's voicemail eight seven seven twenty nine Steed,
- 38:51Speaker 1: right after this you're listening show. All right, guys, it

- 46:09Speaker 1: have kids, man, we want to have hold on, brother,
- 46:12Speaker 1: you just said you're looking for a seragant mother. And

- 46:53Speaker 1: me and my wife we can't have kids. We tried
- 46:57Speaker 1: and tried and tried, and you know, biologically, we've just
- 47:01Speaker 1: been going through it and going through it man. And
- 47:03Speaker 1: I was just you know, I've seen your wife. She healthy.
- 47:06Speaker 1: I see y'all a church all the time. And I
- 47:09Speaker 1: was just like, reach it out, man, maybe somebody wouldn't
- 47:12Speaker 1: mind being the Saragan mother for for for me and
- 47:15Speaker 1: my wife so we can have a child. I'll figured
- 47:18Speaker 1: it Saragan mother, I mean dog. Hold on them, brothers.
- 47:24Speaker 1: You calling me to see if my wife can be
- 47:26Speaker 1: a Seragan mother to your child. Dog. And I know

- 47:59Speaker 1: It's twenty as the members in this church. You know
- 48:02Speaker 1: how stupid you say? Brother? No, brother, brother, man, listen, man,
- 48:06Speaker 1: I'm not trying to come across like that. Man, how
- 48:08Speaker 1: are you trying to come across? Brother? You didn't done
- 48:10Speaker 1: it to hear me out, man, I don't want you
- 48:12Speaker 1: to go ahead, brother, go ahead, man, Okay, we're looking
- 48:16Speaker 1: for a Sarah grand mother. We look, we've seen you
- 48:19Speaker 1: your wife, and we thought she'd be a great Sarah
- 48:21Speaker 1: good mother. And I know it sounds crazy for me
- 48:23Speaker 1: to pick you out of all the people that go
- 48:25Speaker 1: to the church. I understand that, man, I do. But listen,
- 48:28Speaker 1: we would love for your wife to be the seagant mother.
- 48:31Speaker 1: And we're willing to pay for this. Man, But listen
- 48:35Speaker 1: to them if you don't mind. We don't want to
- 48:37Speaker 1: do this with no test tubes and all that way.
- 48:41Speaker 1: They mixed my seed with her with with with her egg.
- 48:45Speaker 1: We want to do this naturally, war war war, you
- 48:50Speaker 1: just said. Man, you gotta understand a real man want
- 48:53Speaker 1: to do. I want to do and realistically, you know
- 48:55Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I'm just saying, are you telling me

- 49:02Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, you know you don't you want
- 49:04Speaker 1: to lose all my Christianity right now? Brother? You want
- 49:06Speaker 1: to have a baby the real way, though, you know
- 49:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I don't give a damn having this
- 49:10Speaker 1: fake way. You tell me you want to lay down
- 49:12Speaker 1: in a ball my wife, But dum you already got
- 49:15Speaker 1: three kids. Think about the people that can't have it.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Doctor baby, Man, take your darn. Ain't gonna doctor damn
- 49:21Speaker 1: baby because you didn't go sit down, psychiatric problem. I

- 53:21Speaker 1: could be yours. It could be yours. Buckle up and
- 53:24Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you here. It
- 53:26Speaker 1: is Strawberry Letter, subject dotting Thursday. Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm
- 53:31Speaker 1: a forty eight year old married woman and I've been
- 53:34Speaker 1: married since I was twenty two years old. My husband
- 53:37Speaker 1: is three years my senior, and he swept me off
- 53:40Speaker 1: my feet right after I finished college. I had three
- 53:43Speaker 1: kids for him and they are grown. We traveled together
- 53:46Speaker 1: and we enjoy life as much as possible, but I
- 53:49Speaker 1: wish my husband was a little more involved in the
- 53:52Speaker 1: church than he is. We had our wild times and
- 53:55Speaker 1: I even smoked weed a few times after I had
- 53:58Speaker 1: my last child. There's nothing left for me in the streets,
- 54:01Speaker 1: and I'm a homebody now. I want my husband at
- 54:04Speaker 1: home with me, but he's still out in the streets.
- 54:07Speaker 1: And I call it Thursday, and I call Thursdays stotting
- 54:10Speaker 1: Thursday because he bar hops with his friends that he's
- 54:14Speaker 1: known since high school every Thursday night. I thought we
- 54:17Speaker 1: were on the same spiritual journey for the past three
- 54:20Speaker 1: or four years, and I had high hopes that he
- 54:22Speaker 1: would stop going to the club, but he has not.
- 54:25Speaker 1: He has no problem going to Bible study one night,
- 54:29Speaker 1: then drinking and smoking hookah in the club the next night.
- 54:32Speaker 1: He doesn't even come home from work on Thursdays. He
- 54:35Speaker 1: heads over to Happy Hour and eats dinner, then he
- 54:38Speaker 1: goes to a ghetto bar and lounge, where he stays
- 54:40Speaker 1: until it closes. He comes in smelling like sweat and
- 54:44Speaker 1: weed mixed with cologne, and he climbs in the bed
- 54:47Speaker 1: with me and I have to fight him off of
- 54:49Speaker 1: me until he falls asleep. I told him, if he
- 54:51Speaker 1: keeps choosing the club over me and his faith, he
- 54:54Speaker 1: should stop pretending to be saved. I begged him to
- 54:58Speaker 1: go to counseling at church with me. But he doesn't
- 55:00Speaker 1: think he's got a problem. I am so worried that
- 55:03Speaker 1: a female thought might tempt him into doing something he's
- 55:07Speaker 1: not ready for. I feel like my husband and my
- 55:10Speaker 1: marriage might be slipping away. How can I keep my
- 55:13Speaker 1: husband out of the streets. Well, I mean, quite frankly,
- 55:17Speaker 1: I don't know that you can keep him out of
- 55:19Speaker 1: the streets. I mean, he has to want that, and
- 55:22Speaker 1: he does want it for six nights of the week.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I mean, your only issue is Thursday that you talk
- 55:29Speaker 1: about the problem is you want your husband to do
- 55:31Speaker 1: like you and be a homebody like you, and be
- 55:34Speaker 1: at home and go on your same spiritual journey. You
- 55:38Speaker 1: want him to do that every day all day. But
- 55:41Speaker 1: don't you think he needs some time to himself as
- 55:44Speaker 1: his wife. I mean, he's not the home body you are.
- 55:49Speaker 1: It's not like you know, you don't know his every
- 55:52Speaker 1: move on Thursday nights because you told us all of
- 55:55Speaker 1: it about the hookah and his high school friends, all
- 55:58Speaker 1: of that. I mean, I agree, he probably does smell
- 56:01Speaker 1: like smoke weed and cologne if he's been out all night,
- 56:04Speaker 1: so he probably does need to get his butt in
- 56:07Speaker 1: the shower before joining you in bed. But really, I
- 56:11Speaker 1: think what you need to do is relaxed and let
- 56:13Speaker 1: this man have a little fun one night of the week.
- 56:16Speaker 1: You gotta stop nagging him even goes to Bible study
- 56:20Speaker 1: one of those nights. Not a lot of husbands will
- 56:22Speaker 1: do that. I think maybe you need to start getting
- 56:25Speaker 1: out more, and you know, stop nagging your husband about this.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I mean, you didn't say that he treats you badly
- 56:32Speaker 1: or anything like this. You just say he goes to
- 56:34Speaker 1: the club on Thursday nights. Come on, lady, come on now,
- 56:37Speaker 1: that's not so bad, Steve, I must say show. I
- 56:42Speaker 1: am completely amazed at your response. Oh my god, the
- 56:50Speaker 1: growth in you as a woman, and I've watched it
- 56:53Speaker 1: after twenty two years, is absolutely phenomenal. I don't know
- 56:59Speaker 1: who this woman was reading this Strawberry letter. This certainly
- 57:04Speaker 1: is not the Shirley straw This is my answer. This
- 57:09Speaker 1: is my answer. The Shelly Strawberry that I knew twenty
- 57:14Speaker 1: two years ago would have never responded to this twenty
- 57:18Speaker 1: two years Shirley twenty okay, But I'm just I'm complimenting
- 57:24Speaker 1: you on your growth, but you don't want it because
- 57:29Speaker 1: you are tight because you think it's a criticism, but
- 57:31Speaker 1: it's not. But I just don't know the woman that
- 57:33Speaker 1: I'm doing the Strawberry letter with no more. We may
- 57:36Speaker 1: have to change the name of the letter from Strawberry.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I don't know, just the damn letter with her and met. Uh.
- 57:47Speaker 1: This is an amazing letter because I'm not really sure
- 57:51Speaker 1: if this woman understands what the problem is. You forty
- 57:54Speaker 1: eight years old, you've been married twenty six years, um
- 57:58Speaker 1: to this man. You're you're ain't said y'all had no problems.
- 58:02Speaker 1: He's three years older than you. He's fifty one. You
- 58:05Speaker 1: forty eight, Uh, didn't know. Your concern is I wish
- 58:10Speaker 1: my husband was a little more involved in the church
- 58:13Speaker 1: that he is. Okay, that's that's okay, that's fair. We
- 58:17Speaker 1: had our wild times and then here you go with
- 58:20Speaker 1: some information we don't need. You said, I even smoked
- 58:23Speaker 1: weed a few times after I had my last child,
- 58:26Speaker 1: the last wait that long started trying weed for anyway.
- 58:30Speaker 1: That ain't my business. But you made it man, because
- 58:32Speaker 1: you put it in the letter. Had nothing left for
- 58:34Speaker 1: me in the streets, and I'm a home body now
- 58:37Speaker 1: and I want my husband home with me. Well, see
- 58:42Speaker 1: here's the problem. You made a change that your husband
- 58:47Speaker 1: wasn't quite in line with. Y'all didn't discuss we're gonna
- 58:52Speaker 1: stop going out in the streets. You decided you hadn't
- 58:56Speaker 1: had enough, he didn't, and now you called in Thursdays
- 59:01Speaker 1: foughting Thursday. You got a husband that's fifty one years
- 59:05Speaker 1: old that bab hops with his friends that he's known
- 59:08Speaker 1: since high school every Thursday night. That right there, in
- 59:11Speaker 1: itself is a little crazy because at fifty one you
- 59:16Speaker 1: still bar hopping. That's a little odd to me. That's
- 59:22Speaker 1: fifty one. I don't know when bab hopping should stop.
- 59:27Speaker 1: I'm thinking it can't extend no where where. What's the
- 59:30Speaker 1: age limit for bar hopping? Tommy, that is something? That
- 59:34Speaker 1: is something, Yeah, and it references to stuff like that.
- 59:39Speaker 1: I go to Tommy Junior. You agree, yes about thirty seven,
- 59:42Speaker 1: but I will give you up to forty. All right,
- 59:45Speaker 1: hang on, Steve, we'll have part two of your response
- 59:47Speaker 1: coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour Today's
- 59:50Speaker 1: Strawberry Letters subject thotting Thursday. We'll get back into it
- 59:54Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening Steve Harpy Morning Show. All right,
- 59:59Speaker 1: come on, Steve Let's recap today's Strawberry Letter, the subject
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: thoughting Thursday. Well, we got a funny and gear old
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: woman that's been married to her husband since they was
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: twenty two years old. He's fifty one, she's forty eight,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: and they have children, and they used to enjoy their
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: little street life. But after her third child, and she
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: smoked a little weed. But now she's tired of that
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: and she's a home body nine. She wants her husband
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: to be at home with me, but he's still out
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: in the streets. And she calls him thoughting Thursday because
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: every Thursday he bab hopped with his friends. That's known
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: since high school, bob hopping at fifty one and way
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: late in the game, you long in the tooth. You
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: this ain't this ain't what you do when you're in
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: the club. Got your suit on. They don't even wet
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: suits the clubs. No moment. He ain't he out of line,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: He out of pocket? Okay. And then she said, I
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: thought we were on the same spiritual journey for the
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: past three or four years. Where are your thought wrong?
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: You thought he didn't think that, And so now I
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: had high hopes that he would stop going to the club.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: But he has not. He has no problem going to
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Bible study one night, then drinking and smoker who could
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: in the club the next night. Lady, that's really normal.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I don't know where the shock is for you. I
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: can't tell you the people that go to Bible study
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: choir rehearsing prap me but sad to get him. I
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: can't tell you the people that can't hardly get up
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: to attend service in the morning and get their roll
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: on to getting that choir because of what happened Saturday night.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: So it ain't just your husband. Please don't stop thinking
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: because you went to Bible study one night, then drinking
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: a smoker who get in the club the next night.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: He don't even come home from work on Thursdays. That nah,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: here we go. He don't even come home. I ain't
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: even swinging by the house because he don't want to
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: hear your mouth. So he goes straight from he can't
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: wait to Thursday. Him and his boy Thursday, Thursday, bigger.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: This Saturday, man, we're gonna go down. Hell man. He
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: head over the happy hour, He eat dinner, and then
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: he goes to a ghetto bar and a lounge where
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: he stays until it closed. Now, lady, I don't know.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna save my answer for the anyway, he comes
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: in smelling like sweating weed mixed with cologne. He climbs
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: in the bed with me and I have to fight
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: him off until he falls asleep because he's coming home.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: He drunk and he's still smoking. Wee, see you stopped
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: smoking weed. No, he kept smoking weed and he drinking
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: so and he doing anphetamine and a barbituit and he's
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: coming in the house with that mix. That's like when
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: people drank a tequila and Red Bull, vodka and red Bull.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: That's an upper anna down. The red Bull is an anphetamine,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: means it amps you up. Red Bull amps you up.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: The vodka is a depressant, a ball bituate. That's how
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: you know the difference. Barbituates take you down. A phetamines
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: amps take you up. Now you to mix the two.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Now he coming there and his brain fall asleep. I
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: told him, if he keeps choosing the club over me,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I told him, if he keeps choosing the club over
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: me and his faith, he should stop pretending to be saved.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: That's not an ultimatum. See, I was waiting on you
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: to say, if he keeps choosing the club over me
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: and his faith, I'm leaving you said. I told him,
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: if he keeps choosing the club over me and his faith,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: he should stop pretending to be saved. He he might
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: not be pretending to be saved. Hello, we are all sinners,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: saved by grace. Because you saved, don't mean you don't sin.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: You know on a horle who you thinking had his
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: perfect life? He ain't. I begged him to go to
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: counseling that church with me, but he don't think he
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: got a problem. I'm so worried that a female might
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: tempt him into doing something he's not ready for. What
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: did you just say? Wait a minute home, let me
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: back that lineup. I'm so worried that a female fought
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: might tempt him into doing something he's not ready for.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: What you mean he ain't ready for? And where do
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you get this? I'm worried that a female might tempt him.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: What you think happening at the club every Thursday they
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: go and die? Now for temptation? They going to that
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: ghetto club for us, They're going down to that ghett
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: old club to drink, get high. It ain't just dudes
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: at that club. Lady, I'm just gonna be real with
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: you so you can stop all this. I'm worried that
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: a female thought might tempt him into doing something he
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: ain't ready for. Lady, I feel like my husband and
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: my marriage might be slipping away. How can I keep
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: my husband out of the streets. You can't. Your husband
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: have to want to come out of the streets. But
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: he old, or he didn't even look good down there
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: no more. But I'll tell you what could show enough
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: break it up. I'm not saying you ought to do this,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: but if you popped up down there after get old club,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: little rue at a change everything that there never be
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: the same. I don't suggest you do that because he
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: he ain't gonna he really ain't gonna like you. Then
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: at least he tried to climb in bed with you.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: He come in on Thursday. If you go down, then
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: he ain't gonna touch you again. That's the damn show.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Post your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter at Steve Harvey
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: FM and Instagram and Facebook, and check out the Strawberry
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Letter podcast on demand now coming up at forty six
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: minutes after the album, got some sports talk from Junior.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show time
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: now for Junior and Sports Talk. What you got junior, Oh, Shirley,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: let's just go ahead and say a prayer for all
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the Laker fans. They have been officially eliminated from the playoffs.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Thank you. Lord. I'm so sick of hearing about the
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Lakers on Sports Center. Just go on and lose get
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: out well. Well, man, I'm tired of this. Man. I
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: love Lebron, Man, I love Westbrook, but man, I'm tired
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: of here about the damn Lakers. They might get in
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: they time day out, the day out. It's officials. Ain't
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: even the damn playoffs. Man, yeah, oh man, it's crazy.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: And also in sports and something we gotta talk about
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: this about a couple of weeks ago, Will Smith slap
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Priss brock Well now have transferred to sports Michael Coo
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Me from France slapt Raphael need and Crop after losing
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: a match. Now he walked up to the net. As
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: soon as he gets to the net, he reaches across
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: and slaps him dead in the face. And once again,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: there was nothing that happened. Now, I'm tired of people.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: That's getting slapped not doing nothing. I think right now
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you need to find sports where ain't too many black
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: people in it. If you're gonna start slapping because somebody
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: go react, I'm just letting you know. You might want
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: to slap somebody that's playing soccer or cricket with something.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Something slapped the Lord's cricket. They got that little triangle
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: shape back. Somebody got the tennis man. I got a
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: tennis trash. Yeah, that's all I came out there with.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I got three of me in my bad Yeah. And
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: you ain't you now now one just just the whole
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: side of your look like a waff. Find out why
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: he fly? Why did he dost you lose? You lose?
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: You know, it's just too much of just going Oh,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, can't slap us in freeze
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: tag Jack's. You can't slap us in none of these sports.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: It's a lot of sports that black people. Yeah, a
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: lot of sports black people you can't you can't get
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: You can't slap us in school. It's just too many
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: things just getting away with it and people that's getting
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: slapped just taking it. We have got to stop. Did
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: somebody go somebody's gonna fight back. Tell you everybody, Yeah,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: they don't know. Shot last shot don't lasts low enough
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: for you to get off the tennis court. It don't
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: last that long. How long? Not just net it don't no, No,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: we're gonna have them. The next match gonna be delayed.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: They're not starting no time. I can promise you that
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: if it was started, if if it was supposed to
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: start a fault, it's probably gonna be about seven thirty
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: eight pho they get. But we're gonna be in stance.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: We're gonna be everywhere on this court because we're just
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: not walking away nor more people. Yeah so I was
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: in basketball, now, okay, you can't do that violence, all right,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: thank you Junior. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: What simple struggle did you go through as a kid
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: that your child will never have to go through? Think
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: about that and we'll talk about it when we come back.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to show question for you guys.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: What simple struggle? Just a struggle that you went through
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: as a kid that your child will never have to
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: go through. Do you wish they did? Huh? Childhood wasn't
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: close to mind, nothing like it. Yeah, okay, For instance,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: there was a post on Facebook that said, um, there
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: was an old picture of an old school tape deck,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: you know, with the tape all unwound. It was messed
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: up in everything and the kid and the caption was,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: my kids will never know this struggle trying to hand
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: to take back together and get pen and get number
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: two pencils right side of that. Why so yeah, So
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: that's why we asked the question, what struggle did you
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: go through as a kid? Um, you know that you're
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: your kids now don't have to go through it. I
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: don't know nothing about coming in when the street lights
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: is on. They don't know nothing about taking the damn
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: god and child down't know nothing about and ship now,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: don't know nothing about no damn go out there, come
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: sweep out the damn garage. They don't know nothing about that.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Go out there and change your all with your daddy.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: They don't know none of that. Man, get up under
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: that car, change you all with your daddy. Man, Please
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: two age you're doing everything, man, or just something as
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: simple as walk over and change the channel on the teeth.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Ain't no remote, ain't no remote. You're the remote. We
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: were the just the antenna. How about this right here,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I'm in here in the bathroom. Oh yeah, one bathroom?
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Yeah that damn dare I never know what that is?
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: He and in coffee cans and man, wait, we can't eat.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: We could need for our friend's house. None of that, Shirley,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: did you hear what he said? Let's back up? What
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: in a coffee? Can you got me on this one? Yeah?
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: We don't know that struggle. Why thirteen of us in
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: one bathroom? We all can't get in there? Oh? Is
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: it the same can an? You got to risk the
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: can out? Not? How about the bathroom? The bathroom ain't
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: in the house. How about that one? We ain't with
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: you on that? Were't there? I got the outside down
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: the step. Man, I had to get a flash like
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: to go to bathroom when it was dog man. Please,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: my kids never know none this man. My kids got
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: their own room with their own bathroom in it. Yeah
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: what then TV? Own phone? We had one thirteen inch
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: color TV, and I can assure you it did not
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: belong to me, so you couldn't watch the only time
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I could watch what I wanted to watch was when
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: my mom and daddy went shopping on Saturday mornings and
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: me and my nephew was in front of that TV.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: It was cartoon heaven. Yeah, what was your favorite cartoons?
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: I'll say, I'll say, I'll say, I'll say something that
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: was my dude right there. That the rooster man with
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: everything to me at the mass dog man that kept
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: getting jerked on that chain. That was my dude right there,
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: I'll say, I'll say, I'll say, shut up, son. Yeah,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: and he loved that little that little chick that had
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: the little genius ass boyd Miss person, oh, miss person.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: And that was every Saturday for you, every Saturday, man,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: unless they made me go shopping, which I liked too,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: but go hill shut. Did you have to clean up
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: on Saturday? Oh yeah, yeah, everybody got to clean up.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Sweep down the steps, mop the flow, and sweep down
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: the driveway and sweep out the garage. Man, sadday was busy.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I ain't get through the about one o'clock. Yeah. Then
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: I had to be there when they came with the
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: groceries because we gotta take the groceries all the way up.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Saycause my mama didn't care bag. Ever, your mama don't
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: care bags, Your mama picking point, Get your ass out here.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. Thing sounds so mean,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: don't I know. All Right, we'll be back with more
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up, and twenty
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: minutes right after this you're listening to say Morning Show.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: Former President Barack Obama was back at the White House
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: on Tuesday to celebrate the Affordable Care Act. The former
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: president noted that the healthcare plan, referred to as Obamacare
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: by opponents, is pretty darn popular twelve years after it
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: was passed into law. Take a listen to former President
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Barack Obama either jokingly or mistakingly calling President Biden. You'll
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: see Vice President Biden, vice President. That wasn't joke. That
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: was all set up, was it? Was it? Yeah? It
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: was yeah? Okay, But you know what about the Obamacare.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: You know, Republicans stopped talking about repealing and replacing Obamacare
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: because it was just too good. Yeah, and they couldn't
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: get the constituents to go along with it. And you, right, Shirley,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: they had nothing to replace it. You better tell the truth,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry. And here we are twelve years later, Steve,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: absolutely great assurance. Right, you ain't never had the Affordable
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Care Act, remains President Obama's most notable US achievement during
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: his presidency. So there you go, and President Biden just
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: wanted to acknowledge that. All right, coming up at thirty
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: three minutes after the hour, we'll do a round it.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Would you rather right after this? You're listening, all right, guys?
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Time now for would you rather? Would you rather be
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: stuck on an island for eternity all on your own,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: all on your own, or would you rather be stuck
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: on an island for eternity with someone you hate? Mh yeah,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: give me b I'm gonna go with be because me
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: and me and me and him gonnahead to work through
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: somethings so we can survive his things. I'm about to
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: talk to I hope it's of me and huh yeah
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: really working out? Yeah, be be for me. I'm gonna
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: drive myself crazy about my damn Now, I got to be.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I'm on an island. Now tell me with all those
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: people in your head, man, please, I got through. I
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: got to do be. I got to have somebody I
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: can talk to you, even we don't like it till
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: I got to have somebody. All right, Take it back
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: to your school days. Would you rather be prom king
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: or valedictorian. Oh okay, v Victoria. That would have ruined
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: my whole high school experience. All that study and this stuff,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: well younger stuff, I'd have missed trying to get this
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: A on this test. I don't give a damn by
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: no A on no tests. Man. I gotta get out here,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: learn these social skills. All a's. Yeah, do you know
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: what that would have took out of me? Man? In
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: order for me to get all a's in high school,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: I'd have had to sell my bike. I'd have had
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: to withdrawal from all extra curriculum axctivities. I'd have to
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: stop playing sports. I'd had to what else I gotta give?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I couldn't have no girlfriend. I didn't have a whole
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: lot of success then, but most of my time with
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: women was spent trying the success ratio that wasn't high
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: at all, but the effort I had to put in
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: just to talk to one junior started on. Yeah, it's
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: prom season right now? Yeah I was. I was. That's
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: a touch of subject. I was a runner up from
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I didn't win. I couldn't get black vote back then
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: lost Tommy, I lost. I lost. They wasn't voting yeah,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: but you wasn't the school. But but see Timmy you
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: he was after me using school white kids. Yeah, but
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: but but I couldn't get the black kids to vote.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: That was my problem. Look at things change. We're voting now,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: We're voting now. Yes, we are voting now. All right, um,
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: all right, well, thank you guys. That's today's round of
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: would you rather? Coming up at forty nine minutes after
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: it's the last break of the day, and we'll have
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: some closing remarks for you right after this. You're listening
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: to show. All right, here we are, guys, our last
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: break of the day on this Thursday. Wow, what a thursday.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: It has been a great Thursday. I learned how to
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: fry chicken. That's what I learned today. No, she needs
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: to start somewhere, y'all leave her. Thank you, thank you,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: thank you. Hey. We do want to remind people Steve
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: that tomorrow our special guests will be beautiful the talented
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: Tony Braxton. Tony Braxton will be your special guest coming
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: on to talk about her brand new movie on a
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Lifetime called Fallen Angels Murder Club. So stay tuned for that.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Look out for it. Cool, all right, girl, Tony you're
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: turning to says, yes, I'm sorry. You know, Um, I
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: wanted to finish up yesterday I was talking about fatherhood
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: and I'm talking to men, and I'm not talking down
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: to men because I haven't always been the father that
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: I am today. I haven't always been the man I
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: am today, So please understand. I understand it's a process.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I was listening to Bishop T. D.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Jake's online the other day. I don't know a father
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: that can get it one hundred. He says. It's almost
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: impossible for a father to get it one hundred because
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: if you are the especially if you are the main
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: bread winner of the house, if you're out there trying
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: to make the bread, then you're not there, and not
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: being there causes so many problems for the wife, for
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: the child, for the mother, for whoever the situation is. Now.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: If you're there all the time, then you don't have
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: the role of breadwinner, and that creates another problem. Look,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: you can be married to a woman that makes more
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: money than you. There's no shame in that. That's honor.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: That's okay, we're not talking about that. But if that
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: bugs you, we have a problem. If that bugs her.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: We have a problem. But if you're a man at
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: the house and you're not doing anything to contribute to
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: the overall well being of that family, we have a problem.
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: It's hard to be a man. And this is not
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: in comparison to being a woman, because I have no
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: data on that. I have no expertise in it at all.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I have no idea how
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: they do it, giving birth, making every human being that's
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: on this earth, raising them, taking care of them, standing
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: by their man, being a mama, being a wife. I
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: have no idea, but I do know what it is
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: to be a man. I know everything about manhood. I'm
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: sixty five years old. You can't sitting me down and
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: teach me a lesson about manhood. No, you can't. I'm
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: an expert at this. I've been through every up and
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: down you can be. I'm a sixty five year old
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: black man. I was raised in segregation. What you're going
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: to tell me? I understand difficulties, hardship, hard times, but fellas,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: it is our job. Once we become a parent, once
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: we father a child, we have a responsibility that comes
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: with that, and it's major and God does not release
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: us from that responsive ability. I'm telling you he don't.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: That is no way you can ignore your responsibility with
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: a child and expect to find joy, peace of mind,
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: happiness and success off somewhere else. It's not going to happen.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That's not my rule. I didn't make that one. Help.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: That's not my rule. That is the way it is.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I am imploring fathers. I am begging fathers, I really
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: am man. I am begging fathers to get active in
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: your child's life. Being present for your son is imperative.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: Being present for your daughter is imperative. So many adult
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: women are suffering hurt today because they never had a
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: snapshot of view of what a man's love really looks like.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: And they've been stumbling through their life trying to get
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: it right because they never saw somebody treat their mother
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: the right way. It is imperative that you get in
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: them daughters live, that you show them that a man's
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: love has nothing to do with physicality, that a man's
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: love is honor, respect, taking care of protection, listening, solving problems.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: That's what manhood is. It is imperative, father that you
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: get in these boys live, because your boy's gonna be
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: one of two types of men. He gonna go and
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: be a good man, or he's gonna grow and be
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: a bad man. Whatever the example is in front of
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: him most of the time is the pattern of behavior
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: that he will duplicate. It works just like that, Man
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: and Fellas. It ain't about how much money you've got. Now.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: I know there are some women who are making it
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: about that, and I'm asking you women to listen to me.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: You got to stop that. Because your man is behind
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: on child support, or your man ain't up to date
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: with child support, and you denying him access to his
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: children until he catch up on them payments, You're messing
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: it up for your child. You're messing it up for
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: you child. Your child don't need a payment. Your child
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: needs that father figure. Your child needs the ability to say,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna call my daddy. Your child needs the ability
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: to say I'm gonna tell my daddy, I'm gonna go
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: get my daddy. That's what your child needs. Now. You
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: may not need that for him as a man, but
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: your child will forever need that. Don't take that from
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: me and Fellas. I don't care where you're sitting with
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: your money. I don't care where you're sitting, with your
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: job position or whatever. Get on that phone and get
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: a relationship with your child. It is your duty, it
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: is your honor, and it is a privilege. But above
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: all else, God ain't letting you go. You gotta get
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: it right, fellas. I'm sorry. He ain't gonna let you
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: prosper on the other side of the town if you
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: ain't doing your business on the right side of town.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: Those are my clothes remarks. Hey, listen to everybody talk
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: to God today. He would love to hear first. For
