Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: This is just a sad day. A friend of mine
- 0:04Speaker 1: who I have known for well over a decade was
- 0:08Speaker 1: shot and killed. Assassinated at a college campus event in Utah.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk was thirty one years old. He has left
- 0:17Speaker 1: behind two beautiful children and a wife, all because he
- 0:23Speaker 1: wanted to bring people together to have a grand debate
- 0:27Speaker 1: about politics. I want to be clear about this and
- 0:33Speaker 1: say not only how sad I am, because I know
- 0:36Speaker 1: Charlie personally, but how sad I am for his kids.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I've got three kids, and this is a conversation that
- 0:44Speaker 1: all of us that do this have had a lot
- 0:46Speaker 1: more recently, especially since the presidential assassination attempt, when the
- 0:51Speaker 1: president was shot in Butler and there was a real
- 0:54Speaker 1: concern over safety. There are a lot of people that
- 1:00Speaker 1: are not doing public events right now for this reason.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk lived by what his order was, and his
- 1:09Speaker 1: order was God, family, country. Charlie Kirk shot and killed
- 1:16Speaker 1: by some deranged individual. And it's not lost on me
- 1:22Speaker 1: that even just hours ago on TV last night, Charlie
- 1:25Speaker 1: Kirk was being attacked by name as he talked about
- 1:30Speaker 1: the killing of that young innocent girl from Ukraine, talking
- 1:35Speaker 1: about it being a racial issue because the man said
- 1:37Speaker 1: I killed I got that white girl. And what the
- 1:41Speaker 1: media do. They went after Charlie Cook saying that was
- 1:43Speaker 1: race baiting, race baiting. How dare you say that it's
- 1:49Speaker 1: not true? They said what Charlie said was a lie,
- 1:52Speaker 1: even though we have the audio of the man walking
- 1:54Speaker 1: after he killed that young girl saying, I got that
- 1:56Speaker 1: white girl. And if you want to know what makes
- 1:59Speaker 1: psychotic people do psychotic things, you tell them that what
- 2:02Speaker 1: they're seeing is a liar. You tell them that people
- 2:04Speaker 1: like Charlie Kirk and others are evil. You tell them
- 2:07Speaker 1: that Donald Trump is the second coming of Adolf Hitler,
- 2:15Speaker 1: because you just need one. You need one guy to
- 2:17Speaker 1: take out to Charlie Kirk. You need one to take
- 2:19Speaker 1: out of Donald Trump. You know what's even more sick
- 2:22Speaker 1: is Matthew Dowd on MSNBC suggests that Charlie Kirk had
- 2:26Speaker 1: it coming, saying, quote, he is consistently pushing this sort
- 2:30Speaker 1: of hate speech aimed at certain groups. And I always
- 2:32Speaker 1: go back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which
- 2:36Speaker 1: often then lead to hateful actions. You want to know
- 2:39Speaker 1: when he said that? He said that before we knew
- 2:41Speaker 1: if Charlie was alive or dead, I want you to
- 2:44Speaker 1: think about that. Donald Trump put it this way, the
- 2:48Speaker 1: great and even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. No one
- 2:52Speaker 1: understood or had the heart of the youth in the
- 2:54Speaker 1: United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved
- 2:59Speaker 1: and admired by all, especially me, And now he is
- 3:03Speaker 1: no longer with us. Milania and my sympathies go out
- 3:07Speaker 1: to his beautiful wife, Erica and family. Charlie, we love you.
- 3:13Speaker 1: The President announcing the passing of Charlie Kirk and automatically
- 3:18Speaker 1: are immediately ordering that the flag at the White House
- 3:22Speaker 1: flight half mass. Charlie was a friend. Charlie was a
- 3:28Speaker 1: guy that was never going to hold back, and he
- 3:32Speaker 1: was going to keep fighting the fight. It is truly
- 3:38Speaker 1: incredible to also see how evil people are online. There
- 3:42Speaker 1: are people on social media right now, on TikTok especially
- 3:45Speaker 1: that are celebrating, celebrating the killing, the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Elon Musk retweeting Sean maguire and here's what he said.
- 3:58Speaker 1: The Left, he said, is the party of murder. Say quote.
- 4:00Speaker 1: The left lectured us for the last decade about the
- 4:02Speaker 1: dangers of violence from the right, from the assassination attempts
- 4:06Speaker 1: at President Trump to Brian Thompson, not a healthcare CEO
- 4:10Speaker 1: being murdered, now to Charlie Kirk, the danger was actually
- 4:13Speaker 1: on the left. As Elon must put it, I agree,
- 4:18Speaker 1: the left is the party of murder. When I met
- 4:23Speaker 1: Charlie for the very first time, Charlie was a young
- 4:25Speaker 1: kid who had this idea and some financial backers that
- 4:30Speaker 1: he could change this country by changing a generation. He
- 4:34Speaker 1: saw how important younger generations were to the Democratic Party
- 4:37Speaker 1: and how they indoctrinated them in schools and in colleges.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Charlie didn't go to college to do turning point, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: people attacked him for that, And then he exposed colleges
- 4:47Speaker 1: for what they actually were, radical leftist organizations that were
- 4:51Speaker 1: turning kids into hating this great country. His legacy, I promise,
- 5:02Speaker 1: is going to continue to grow. Glenn Beck put it
- 5:08Speaker 1: this way. The President's confirmed what I can. He said
- 5:13Speaker 1: what I can scarcely bring myself to say, My dear friend,
- 5:17Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk is gone. In all my years, I have
- 5:20Speaker 1: spoken tens of millions of words, but tonight I have none.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Tomorrow many of his friends and his Blaze family will
- 5:29Speaker 1: join me on national radio and podcast as we try
- 5:31Speaker 1: to honor him. I pray that God grants me the
- 5:34Speaker 1: words worthy of such a man, though I know none
- 5:37Speaker 1: of us could ever truly capture the depth of his faith,
- 5:40Speaker 1: his courage, and his love for his country. Pray please
- 5:45Speaker 1: for his family. Pray for our republic, which has lost
- 5:48Speaker 1: one of its most faithful defenders. I can only imagine
- 5:52Speaker 1: the joy that must now feel his heart as he
- 5:54Speaker 1: hears those words we all long to hear. Well done,
- 5:58Speaker 1: my good and faithful survey. Charlie Cook stood up for
- 6:04Speaker 1: this country. Charlie Kirk stood up for what is so
- 6:10Speaker 1: right about America. Charlie Kirk, by the way, didn't have
- 6:15Speaker 1: to listen to opposing views. He chose to because he
- 6:19Speaker 1: believed that every voice should be heard, and that's why
- 6:22Speaker 1: he had such grand debates. Charlie Kirk is a guy
- 6:28Speaker 1: that also helped the president get elected. If you want
- 6:31Speaker 1: to know why the President was the one to announce,
- 6:33Speaker 1: it's because I think he believes he would not have
- 6:35Speaker 1: gotten reelected without Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk and we did
- 6:38Speaker 1: on the ground in swing States was truly a remarkable
- 6:40Speaker 1: was incredible, and he is a friend that was gunned
- 6:45Speaker 1: down cold blood and murder, an assassination because he was
- 6:48Speaker 1: having a grand debate on a college campus. I want
- 6:52Speaker 1: you to think about this. This is an event in Utah.
- 6:56Speaker 1: He was asking people to come to the microphone to
- 6:59Speaker 1: debate him. This is pure, demonic evil and there are
- 7:07Speaker 1: many that are going to say this and I tend
- 7:08Speaker 1: to agree with him at this point that the Democratic
- 7:10Speaker 1: Party is nothing more now than a terrorist organization. They
- 7:14Speaker 1: don't denounce they stoke this type of hate and bigotry.
- 7:24Speaker 1: That's what they do and everyone needs to understand that.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I will say it over and over again. Please pray
- 7:34Speaker 1: for his beautiful wife and his beautiful children. Everyone needs
- 7:38Speaker 1: to pray for his family right now. Pray that evil
- 7:43Speaker 1: will not prevail, that his life will not be lost
- 7:49Speaker 1: in vain, but will be a life that is made,
- 7:54Speaker 1: will have a legacy that will live for centuries to come.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Take a quick break, we'll come back. It's the Been
- 8:00Speaker 1: Ferguson Show. Much more coming up.
- 8:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I want to take a moment and I want to
- 8:05Speaker 1: talk to you real quick about what you can do
- 8:09Speaker 1: to help the people in Israel. It was nearly two
- 8:12Speaker 1: years ago that the terrorists murdered more than twelve hundred
- 8:16Speaker 1: innocent Israelis and they took two hundred and fifty hostages.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Today it seems as if the cries of the dead
- 8:23Speaker 1: and dying have been drowned out by the shouts of
- 8:25Speaker 1: anti Semitism and just pure hatred, not just in America
- 8:28Speaker 1: but around the world. And the most brutal attack on
- 8:31Speaker 1: Jewish people happened. It happened since the Holocaust, and now
- 8:36Speaker 1: it's like they're trying to act like it never happened. Now.
- 8:40Speaker 1: This is where it is important for us to stand
- 8:42Speaker 1: with the people in Israel. It's a movement of love
- 8:46Speaker 1: and support for the people of Israel, and this is
- 8:49Speaker 1: where I want you to get involved. It is called
- 8:51Speaker 1: Flags of Fellowship. It's being organized by the International Fellowship
- 8:56Speaker 1: of Christians and Jews. On October fifth, you can stand
- 9:01Speaker 1: with Israel and the victims proudly. Just a few weeks away,
- 9:06Speaker 1: millions across America will prayerfully plant an Israeli flag in
- 9:11Speaker 1: honor and solidarity with the victims of October seventh, twenty
- 9:15Speaker 1: twenty three, and stand with their grieving families. You can
- 9:20Speaker 1: be a part of this movement as well. And that's
- 9:23Speaker 1: what I love about what IFCJ does. They're making sure
- 9:27Speaker 1: that the world knows there are lots of people of
- 9:29Speaker 1: faith in this country and friends and advocates for Israel.
- 9:34Speaker 1: They're going to stand with them. You can get more
- 9:36Speaker 1: information about how you can join the Flags of Fellowship movement,
- 9:40Speaker 1: including your church. There are going to be countless churches
- 9:44Speaker 1: around the country. They're going to plant flags as well.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So all you have to do to get involved with
- 9:49Speaker 1: Flags of Fellowship movement is go to IFCJ dot org.
- 9:53Speaker 1: That's IFCJ dot org Stand with Israel October fifth, It's
- 9:59Speaker 1: just a few weeks away. And if your church you
- 10:01Speaker 1: think would want to be involved, you can also find
- 10:03Speaker 1: out more about how to get your church to be
- 10:05Speaker 1: involved on a special Sunday at IFCJ dot org. That's
- 10:10Speaker 1: if CJ dot org. The Commission of the Utah Department
- 10:14Speaker 1: of Public Safety speaking now, Bomason.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Not matched the shooting suspect and was not an accurate
- 10:21Speaker 3: person of interest. However, he has been booked into the
- 10:26Speaker 3: County jail by Utah value University Police Department for obstruction
- 10:30Speaker 3: of justice. We do still have an active investigation for
- 10:35Speaker 3: the person of interest. This incident occurred with a large
- 10:40Speaker 3: crowd around. There was one shot fired and one victim.
- 10:46Speaker 3: While the suspect is at large, We believe this was
- 10:48Speaker 3: a target of attack towards one individual.
- 10:52Speaker 4: This is a tragic moment in our state and in
- 10:55Speaker 4: our country.
- 10:56Speaker 3: As we heal, we encourage everyone who's struggling with news
- 10:59Speaker 3: of the instant to call ninety eight, our state mental
- 11:02Speaker 3: health crisis line.
- 11:05Speaker 4: In addition to that.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Our partners with the FBI will also be discussing other
- 11:09Speaker 3: ways we can communicate through the public for tips and
- 11:12Speaker 3: other information.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Thank you, good afternoon.
- 11:17Speaker 2: On behalf of the FBI, We extend our sincerest condolences
- 11:22Speaker 2: to the family and friends of Charlie Kirk. Our thoughts
- 11:26Speaker 2: are also with the people who witness this traumatic event.
- 11:31Speaker 2: We know that what you experienced was very difficult. Our
- 11:35Speaker 2: thoughts are with you as well. As soon as we
- 11:38Speaker 2: heard about the shooting, special agents and personnel from the
- 11:41Speaker 2: Salt Lake Field Office responded immediately. We have full resources
- 11:47Speaker 2: devoted to this investigation, including tactical, operational, investigative and intelligence.
- 11:53Speaker 2: To be clear, the FBI will fully support and co
- 11:56Speaker 2: lead this investigation. Alongside with our partners. We are working
- 12:01Speaker 2: on setting up a digital medial tip line and as
- 12:03Speaker 2: soon as it's established, we'll get that information out to everyone.
- 12:07Speaker 4: I know. There's a lot of questions.
- 12:09Speaker 2: This is very much an active case, and this investigation
- 12:12Speaker 2: is in its early stages. We are following all the
- 12:15Speaker 2: leads and all the evidence. If anyone has any information,
- 12:18Speaker 2: please report it to the FBI or local lawenforcement.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 12:25Speaker 5: On behalf of President Tumanez, who we've been communicating with,
- 12:28Speaker 5: and she's on her way back right now.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I say that.
- 12:32Speaker 5: On behalf of Utah Valley University, we are shocked and
- 12:35Speaker 5: saddened by the tragic passing of Charlie Kirk. We express
- 12:39Speaker 5: our sincere condolences to the Kirk family. We agree with
- 12:42Speaker 5: our students, faculty, and staff who bore witness to this
- 12:46Speaker 5: unspeakable tragedy. He was invited by the student group Turning
- 12:50Speaker 5: Point USA to speak on our campus. We firmly believe
- 12:54Speaker 5: that UVEU is a place to share ideas and to
- 12:58Speaker 5: debate openly respectfully. Any attempt to infringe on those rights
- 13:03Speaker 5: has no place here. Would you not condone any form
- 13:07Speaker 5: of violence at UVU and seek to make our campus
- 13:10Speaker 5: a safe place for all.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Pleads and gentlemen.
- 13:17Speaker 6: Thank you for joining us on this dark and tragic occasion.
- 13:22Speaker 6: I want to thank our law enforcement officers who are
- 13:26Speaker 6: leading this investigation, starting with Chief Long and his response
- 13:31Speaker 6: here with the UVU Police Department.
- 13:34Speaker 4: We're grateful for your leadership and your.
- 13:37Speaker 6: Team, and again to the speakers that you've just heard
- 13:41Speaker 6: from who are co leading this investigation. I also want
- 13:45Speaker 6: to recognize Sheriff Mike Smith, who has been an invaluable
- 13:48Speaker 6: partner as this investigation moves forward. I've been in touch
- 13:54Speaker 6: with President Trump, with FBI Director Cash Pttel.
- 13:59Speaker 4: We are completely aligned with.
- 14:01Speaker 6: Our state and federal partners as we work through this case.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Now, this is a dark day for our state. It's
- 14:12Speaker 4: a tragic day for our nation.
- 14:15Speaker 6: And I want to be very clear that this is
- 14:17Speaker 6: a political assassination.
- 14:21Speaker 4: We are.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Celebrating two hundred and fifty years of the founding of
- 14:28Speaker 6: this great nation, that founding document, the Declaration of Independence,
- 14:34Speaker 6: That this great experiment on which we embark together two
- 14:38Speaker 6: hundred and fifty years ago, that we are endowed by
- 14:41Speaker 6: our creator with certain unalienable rights.
- 14:43Speaker 4: The first one of those is life, and today a
- 14:50Speaker 4: life was taken.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Charlie Kirk was first and foremost a husband and a dad.
- 14:59Speaker 4: To young child. He was also.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Very much politically involved, and that's why he was here
- 15:08Speaker 6: on campus. Charlie believed in the power of free speech
- 15:14Speaker 6: and debate to shape ideas and to persuade people. Historically,
- 15:23Speaker 6: our university campuses in this nation and here in the
- 15:26Speaker 6: State of Utah have been the place where truth and
- 15:30Speaker 6: ideas are formulated and debated. And that's what he does.
- 15:35Speaker 6: He comes on college campuses and he debates that as
- 15:40Speaker 6: foundational to the formation of our country, to our most
- 15:45Speaker 6: basic constitutional rights.
- 15:48Speaker 4: And when someone takes the life of a person.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Because of their ideas or their ideals, then that very
- 15:58Speaker 6: constitutional foundation is threatened. Now we have a person of
- 16:04Speaker 6: interest in custody. The investigation is ongoing, but I want
- 16:11Speaker 6: to make it crystal clear right now to whoever did this,
- 16:16Speaker 6: we will find you, we will try you, and we
- 16:21Speaker 6: will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law.
- 16:27Speaker 6: And I just want to remind people that we still
- 16:29Speaker 6: have the death penalty here in the state of Utah.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Our nation is broken. We've had.
- 16:39Speaker 6: Political assassinations recently in Minnesota. We had an attempted assassination
- 16:47Speaker 6: on the governor of Pennsylvania, and we had an attempted
- 16:52Speaker 6: assassination on a presidential candidate and former president of the
- 16:58Speaker 6: United States and now current resident of the United States.
- 17:04Speaker 6: Nothing I say can unit us as a country. Nothing
- 17:08Speaker 6: I can say right now can fix what is broken.
- 17:11Speaker 6: Nothing I can say can bring back Charlie Kirk. Our
- 17:17Speaker 6: hearts are broken.
- 17:18Speaker 4: We mourn.
- 17:20Speaker 6: With his wife, his children, his family, his friends. We
- 17:24Speaker 6: mourn as a nation. If anyone, in the sound of
- 17:29Speaker 6: my voice celebrated even a little bit at the news
- 17:35Speaker 6: of this shooting, I would beg you to look in
- 17:40Speaker 6: the mirror and to see if you can find a
- 17:44Speaker 6: better angel in there somewhere. I don't care what his
- 17:49Speaker 6: politics are. I care that he was an American. We
- 17:54Speaker 6: desperately need our country. We desperately need leaders in our country.
- 18:00Speaker 6: But more than the leaders, we just need every single
- 18:04Speaker 6: person in.
- 18:05Speaker 4: This country.
- 18:08Speaker 6: To think about where we are and where we want
- 18:11Speaker 6: to be, to ask ourselves, it is this what two
- 18:17Speaker 6: hundred and fifty years has wrought on us.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I pray that that's not the case.
- 18:24Speaker 6: I pray that those who hated what Charlie Cooks stood
- 18:29Speaker 6: for will put down their social media and their pens
- 18:36Speaker 6: and pray for his family, and that all of us,
- 18:43Speaker 6: all of us will try to find a way to
- 18:46Speaker 6: stop painting our fellow Americans.
- 18:49Speaker 4: With that, we're happy to take a few questions.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You're going to hear the Utah governor they are calling
- 18:54Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk's death a political assassination. That is exactly what
- 19:00Speaker 1: it is. I want to talk to you about my
- 19:04Speaker 1: friends at Kirk Elliott Precious Medals. Two days ago, I
- 19:08Speaker 1: got my new order of silver. Now I'm investing in
- 19:11Speaker 1: silver right now because the pricing on it is amazing
- 19:14Speaker 1: and the upside well, it's real. I actually have a
- 19:18Speaker 1: one hundred ounce silver bar. It is actually really cool.
- 19:23Speaker 1: It's really heavy because it's one hundred ounces. But I
- 19:27Speaker 1: also know that I bought it at the right price
- 19:30Speaker 1: and I wasn't paying massive up charges on quote. Rare
- 19:33Speaker 1: are special coins, and then when you go to sell them,
- 19:36Speaker 1: you take away all of your earning potential. Why do
- 19:40Speaker 1: they do it this way at Kurt Elliott Because they
- 19:42Speaker 1: have transparent pricing up front. It's very simple. You pay
- 19:47Speaker 1: eight percent when you buy, and here's what matters to
- 19:50Speaker 1: you the most. Nothing when you sell there are no
- 19:54Speaker 1: hidden fees ever with Kurt Elliott Precious Metals. This is
- 19:58Speaker 1: the reason why I recommend them. It's not just about investing,
- 20:03Speaker 1: it's about making sure you get more for your money.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And that is exactly why Kurt Elliott helps people all
- 20:09Speaker 1: the time. Whether it's gold or silver, you can hold it,
- 20:13Speaker 1: be a good steward of it, you can pass it
- 20:14Speaker 1: on to future generations, and you can build wealth with it.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It's real, boy, youon never gimmicks, just investment grade gold
- 20:23Speaker 1: and silver, No overpriced coins, no flashy markups. And it's
- 20:28Speaker 1: a company that I love because they are a faith
- 20:31Speaker 1: driven company. There's no pressure, just honest care. They treat
- 20:36Speaker 1: every client like family, offering honest answers up front to
- 20:41Speaker 1: help you make wise informed decisions. Now, if you're seeking
- 20:44Speaker 1: a partner when it comes to gold and silver with
- 20:48Speaker 1: an eternity mindset, visit ke PM dot com slash ben.
- 20:55Speaker 1: That's k e PM dot com slash ben. You can
- 20:59Speaker 1: also all them seven to zero six oh five thirty
- 21:03Speaker 1: nine hundred. That's seven to zero six oh five thirty
- 21:07Speaker 1: nine hundred. So let's faithfully steward what God has given
- 21:11Speaker 1: so you can experience real peace now and for generations
- 21:15Speaker 1: to come. Kepm dot com slash Ben. He understood something
- 21:21Speaker 1: that many others didn't, which is the left had taken
- 21:25Speaker 1: hold of an entire generation of young people in this country,
- 21:30Speaker 1: and they were turning them against God. They were turning
- 21:34Speaker 1: him against prayer. They were turning him against pride in
- 21:38Speaker 1: this country. They were turning them away away from families.
- 21:43Speaker 1: They were turning them away from having children. They were
- 21:46Speaker 1: turning them away from marriage, being a husband or a wife,
- 21:51Speaker 1: a mother or a father. And he decided he was
- 21:55Speaker 1: going to do something about it, and he started an
- 21:57Speaker 1: organization called Turning Point. I remember meeting Charlie for the
- 22:01Speaker 1: very first time and we had breakfast together. When he
- 22:05Speaker 1: was trying to start Turning Point, there was people like
- 22:10Speaker 1: myself and Ben Shapiro and others that had done kind
- 22:14Speaker 1: of the college campus thing and had been the young
- 22:18Speaker 1: generation of conservatives, and he wanted to be that next
- 22:22Speaker 1: generation in may O. May was he He's had more
- 22:25Speaker 1: of an impact on the younger generation for conservatives than
- 22:28Speaker 1: anyone I've ever met. And I don't say that because
- 22:32Speaker 1: he was assassinated by a cold blooded killer. I say
- 22:36Speaker 1: that because the truth Charlie Kirk was a hero whose
- 22:41Speaker 1: legacy will live on for I think the rest of
- 22:47Speaker 1: my life and probably than after that. People are going
- 22:51Speaker 1: to remember Charlie Kirk. They're going to remember where they
- 22:54Speaker 1: were when they found out that he was shot. They're
- 22:55Speaker 1: going to remember where they were when it was announced
- 22:59Speaker 1: by the President unit It's America on True Social that
- 23:01Speaker 1: he had died. This is so hard. I've been talking
- 23:05Speaker 1: about this all day. I'm recording this basically midnight Eastern,
- 23:11Speaker 1: and I've been talking to friends and colleagues who know him,
- 23:16Speaker 1: and all of us are so sad because we all
- 23:20Speaker 1: knew him well. I think the hardest part for me
- 23:23Speaker 1: is the fact that I know that this is a
- 23:25Speaker 1: man that loved this country but also loved his family.
- 23:29Speaker 1: He was so proud of his kids. He was so
- 23:32Speaker 1: proud to be a dad. He loved being a dad,
- 23:36Speaker 1: he loved celebrating what a family is. He loves celebrating
- 23:41Speaker 1: that he was going back to traditional way of life
- 23:46Speaker 1: with a mom and a dad and children. I am
- 23:49Speaker 1: so sad tonight for his family, for his wife, who
- 23:53Speaker 1: is so sweet, for his children that are going to
- 23:56Speaker 1: grow up without their father. They're going to have videos
- 23:58Speaker 1: for years that they can watch and they can be
- 24:01Speaker 1: proud of him. And that may be the one blessing
- 24:03Speaker 1: is that they so much of his life over the
- 24:06Speaker 1: last five six seven years was put on tape. I
- 24:10Speaker 1: also get sad for this country because we lost someone
- 24:15Speaker 1: that was so dear to us. And I get sad
- 24:17Speaker 1: that we've gone off this path so far to where
- 24:21Speaker 1: the radical left and a part of it is a
- 24:24Speaker 1: terrorist organization. Now, make no mistake about that is celebrating
- 24:30Speaker 1: the killing of a man whose only crime was wanting
- 24:35Speaker 1: to bring people together for a grand debate. That's what
- 24:38Speaker 1: he did wrong. He wanted to debate the most important
- 24:42Speaker 1: issues of our day, and he wanted to sit down
- 24:45Speaker 1: with people that disagreed with him, and he wanted to
- 24:48Speaker 1: have that conversation. And that's why they killed him, because
- 24:52Speaker 1: he was so effective and so powerful by bringing facts
- 24:57Speaker 1: to a conversation and by the the way being kind
- 25:01Speaker 1: to those on the left, those that disagreed with him.
- 25:04Speaker 1: He wanted them to come to his events, he wanted
- 25:07Speaker 1: to talk to them. He gave them a microphone. It's
- 25:10Speaker 1: exactly what he was doing in Utah. Trump's assassination attempting
- 25:14Speaker 1: Butler is that we were worried that they were going
- 25:17Speaker 1: to do it again, whether I was on stage doing
- 25:21Speaker 1: an event, and so many others that do what Charlie
- 25:25Speaker 1: does in the conservative movement. It is become a very
- 25:29Speaker 1: real thing in our minds. And what they wanted to
- 25:33Speaker 1: happen to Donald Trump and Butler is exactly what happened
- 25:39Speaker 1: in Utah to Charlie Kirk. They wanted that video. They
- 25:44Speaker 1: wanted to put fear in the hearts and the minds
- 25:46Speaker 1: of other conservative fighters, other conservative warriors, because they want
- 25:51Speaker 1: to silence us. I have talked to some of the
- 25:55Speaker 1: most influential conservative leaders today on the phone and text messages,
- 26:01Speaker 1: my mentors, people that I've mentored, and one thing I
- 26:06Speaker 1: can assure you from all this is, yes, we're gonna
- 26:09Speaker 1: take more precautions. Yes we're gonna do more, but we're
- 26:13Speaker 1: not stopping. Charlie was asked recently about what he does
- 26:19Speaker 1: and what he thinks before he goes on college campuses,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and I want you to listen to what he said.
- 26:25Speaker 1: It's only forty seven forty eight seconds long, but I
- 26:29Speaker 1: want you to listen to what he says.
- 26:31Speaker 7: Before I go on to college campus. My prayer is
- 26:34Speaker 7: very simple. God used me for your will, because there's
- 26:36Speaker 7: a plan above us all. God is sovereign above all.
- 26:39Speaker 7: So what is God's plan When I go on to
- 26:40Speaker 7: college campus. I just believe I will only tell truth,
- 26:43Speaker 7: i will not compromise, and I'll love on the lost.
- 26:46Speaker 7: The specific teachings of Christ these go make disciples of
- 26:48Speaker 7: all nations. I'm trying my best to do that, and
- 26:50Speaker 7: I'm trying to do it first in this nation, because
- 26:52Speaker 7: this nation impacts every other nation on the planet. You
- 26:55Speaker 7: cannot impact the world that impacting America.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Period.
- 26:57Speaker 7: That's the way that God has designed the universe in
- 27:00Speaker 7: this particular being that as America goes, the world goes.
- 27:03Speaker 7: Jesus called us to love children, got Jesus called us
- 27:06Speaker 7: to tell truth. God Jesus called us to contest in
- 27:09Speaker 7: the public square for his purposes. I'm far more interested
- 27:13Speaker 7: in what God wants of me than what I want
- 27:15Speaker 7: from God and what God wants from me as a
- 27:18Speaker 7: life fighting for truth.
- 27:20Speaker 1: That is going to be a large part of Charlie
- 27:23Speaker 1: Kirk's legacy. The President of the United States of America
- 27:27Speaker 1: also put out a video from the Oval Office hours
- 27:31Speaker 1: after he announced that Charlie Kirk had gone to see
- 27:35Speaker 1: his Lord and Savior in heaven. Donald Trump decided to
- 27:38Speaker 1: address the nation, and I want you to hear what
- 27:41Speaker 1: the President had to say about Charlie Kirk and his
- 27:44Speaker 1: legacy to my.
- 27:46Speaker 8: Great fellow Americans. I am filled with grief and anger
- 27:49Speaker 8: at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college
- 27:54Speaker 8: campus in Utah. Charlie inspired millions in tonight, all who
- 27:58Speaker 8: knew him loved him, are united in shock and horror.
- 28:04Speaker 8: Charlie was a patriot who devoted his life to the
- 28:07Speaker 8: cause of open debate and the country that he loved
- 28:11Speaker 8: so much, the United States of America. He fought for liberty, democracy, justice,
- 28:16Speaker 8: and the American people. He's a martyr for truth and freedom,
- 28:21Speaker 8: and there has never been anyone who was so respected
- 28:24Speaker 8: by youth. Charlie was also a man of deep, deep faith,
- 28:30Speaker 8: and we take comfort in the knowledge that he is
- 28:33Speaker 8: now at peace with God in heaven. Our prayers are
- 28:37Speaker 8: with his wife, Erica, the two young beloved children, and
- 28:41Speaker 8: his entire family, who he loved more than anything in
- 28:45Speaker 8: the world. We ask God to watch over them in
- 28:49Speaker 8: this terrible hour of heartache and pain. Is a dark
- 28:53Speaker 8: moment for America. Charlie Kirk traveled the nation, joyfully engaging
- 28:59Speaker 8: with everyone in interested in good faith debate. His mission
- 29:04Speaker 8: was to bring young people into the political process, which
- 29:07Speaker 8: he did better than anybody ever, to share his love
- 29:12Speaker 8: of country, and to spread the simple words of common
- 29:16Speaker 8: sense on campuses nationwide. He championed his ideas with courage, logic, humor,
- 29:22Speaker 8: and grace. It's a long past time for all Americans
- 29:27Speaker 8: and the media to confront the fact that violence and
- 29:30Speaker 8: murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom
- 29:36Speaker 8: you disagree day after day, year after year, in the
- 29:39Speaker 8: most hateful and despicable way possible. For years, those on
- 29:44Speaker 8: the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to
- 29:48Speaker 8: Nazis and the world's worst mass murderers and criminals. This
- 29:54Speaker 8: kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that
- 29:59Speaker 8: we're seeing in our country today, and it must stop
- 30:03Speaker 8: right now. My administration will find each and every one
- 30:08Speaker 8: of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other
- 30:12Speaker 8: political violence, including the organizations that funded and support it,
- 30:17Speaker 8: as well as those who go after our judges, law
- 30:20Speaker 8: enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country.
- 30:26Speaker 8: From the attack on my life in Butler, Pennsylvania last year,
- 30:30Speaker 8: which killed a husband and father, to the attacks on
- 30:33Speaker 8: ice agents, to the vicious murder of a healthcare executive
- 30:37Speaker 8: in the streets of New York, to the shooting of
- 30:40Speaker 8: House Majority leaders Steve Scalise and three others. Radical of
- 30:45Speaker 8: political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken
- 30:49Speaker 8: too many lives. Tonight, they asked all Americans to commit
- 30:53Speaker 8: themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk lived
- 30:57Speaker 8: and died, the values of free speech, citizenship, the rule
- 31:03Speaker 8: of law, and the patriotic devotion and love of God.
- 31:07Speaker 8: Charlie was the best of America, and the monster who
- 31:10Speaker 8: attacked him was attacking our whole country. An assassin tried
- 31:15Speaker 8: to silence him with a bullet, but he failed, because
- 31:18Speaker 8: together we will ensure that his voice, his message, and
- 31:22Speaker 8: his legacy will live on for countless generations to come. Today,
- 31:27Speaker 8: because of this heinous act, Charlie's voice has become bigger
- 31:32Speaker 8: and grander than ever before, and it's not even close.
- 31:37Speaker 8: May God bless his memory, May God watch over his family,
- 31:41Speaker 8: and may God bless the United States of America.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I want to just end by saying two things. One,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I am so sad. I am so sad for Charlie's
- 31:55Speaker 1: family and his colleagues and his friends. I'm also incredibly angry.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I'm angry that the Left has gotten to the point
- 32:03Speaker 1: where they're inspiring people to do this with no accountability.
- 32:08Speaker 1: I may angre that they have normalized this type of
- 32:12Speaker 1: political violence. There will be more to be said about
- 32:16Speaker 1: that moving forward, I can promise you. But what I'll
- 32:20Speaker 1: say right now is this. Pray for Charlie's wife, Pray
- 32:25Speaker 1: for Charlie's children, Pray for all of them.
