- 0:01Speaker 1: Cuba's puppet president, Miguel Diez Canal vows quote unbreakable resistance
- 0:09Speaker 1: in an anti Trump tirade. Now, why did this happen?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Is the question that everyone should be asking. I'm going
- 0:17Speaker 1: to explain it to you. The country just suffered a
- 0:21Speaker 1: massive nationwide blackout, lasting nearly twenty nine hours. It's literally
- 0:26Speaker 1: one of the worst in years in Cuba. And it's
- 0:29Speaker 1: all because Cuba is on the brink of a total
- 0:33Speaker 1: economic and energy collapse, and it's literally getting worse by
- 0:37Speaker 1: the day. Power outages are now routine, some of them
- 0:41Speaker 1: are facing twenty plus hour daily blackouts due to fuel
- 0:46Speaker 1: shortages and a crumbling grid. The root cause it's simple,
- 0:52Speaker 1: no oil. Cuba has gone months with little to no
- 0:55Speaker 1: fuel imports, crippling their electricity production, and is dealing with
- 1:00Speaker 1: severe shortages of food, fuel, and basic services, all triggered
- 1:06Speaker 1: by the rising unrest as well. There's been a mass exodus.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Over a million people have already fled the country of Cuba,
- 1:14Speaker 1: and protests are growing, including violent demonstrations and now attacks
- 1:19Speaker 1: on government buildings that are fueled by the depression and
- 1:23Speaker 1: the desperation of the people in Cuba over the regime
- 1:27Speaker 1: Now even Cuban leadership is now scrambling talking about opening
- 1:32Speaker 1: the economy to foreign investment, something they've resisted for literally decades,
- 1:37Speaker 1: as they are desperate. Now Trump's strategy maximum pressure is
- 1:42Speaker 1: clearly working. The Trump administration has gone all in with
- 1:46Speaker 1: an oil blockade, cutting off fuel supplies the biggest pressure
- 1:50Speaker 1: point on the regime, pushing for regime change in democratic
- 1:54Speaker 1: reforms as conditions for relief. Trump said Cuba is very
- 1:58Speaker 1: weakened and the US could make a deal or just
- 2:03Speaker 1: take action. The bottom line is clear. The strategy is
- 2:07Speaker 1: to force the regime to negotiate at the table hard
- 2:11Speaker 1: and quickly for real reforms, or flat out collapse under
- 2:16Speaker 1: their own pressure. Now Cuba's communist leadership is digging in hard.
- 2:21Speaker 1: The president there is promising that unbreakable resistance against the US,
- 2:27Speaker 1: blaming the crisis entirely on US sanctions and economic warfare,
- 2:32Speaker 1: cracking down on protests, and warning dissent will be punished.
- 2:38Speaker 1: At the same time, he's quietly entering talks with US
- 2:42Speaker 1: out of desperation. Now the president is a communist figurehead,
- 2:48Speaker 1: he's the president of Cuba, and he threatened any external
- 2:52Speaker 1: aggressor to the Cuba regime will be met with unbreakable
- 2:56Speaker 1: resistance after Donald Trump said We'll be doing something with
- 3:00Speaker 1: Cuba very soon now. For over six decades, the disastrous
- 3:06Speaker 1: communist policies of the Castor regime have forced Cubans to
- 3:09Speaker 1: live through inhumane conditions of well abject misery. The situation
- 3:15Speaker 1: in Cuba has worsen in recent weeks after the Roague
- 3:19Speaker 1: Communists abruptly lost access to virtually the free oil that
- 3:23Speaker 1: had been receiving for decades from Venezuela and socialist regime
- 3:28Speaker 1: following the United States arrests of their dictator Maduro in January. Now,
- 3:34Speaker 1: I've got more to say on this, but first I
- 3:36Speaker 1: want to tell you about our good friends at Bitcoin IRA.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I got to ask you a question, can you buy
- 3:42Speaker 1: Roe bitcoin in your retirement account? Well, if not, it's
- 3:46Speaker 1: time to upgrade to Bitcoin IRA. It's twenty twenty six
- 3:51Speaker 1: and cryptocurrency is where so many investors are going and diversifying.
- 3:55Speaker 1: You can buy and sell bitcoin inside a tax advantage
- 4:00Speaker 1: IRA with Bitcoin IRA, and that gives you more ways
- 4:03Speaker 1: to diversify and grow your retirement savings. Security is their
- 4:09Speaker 1: number one priority, and your assets are protected by military
- 4:13Speaker 1: grade multi key security and you're covered up to two
- 4:17Speaker 1: hundred and fifty million in digital asset insurance. So what
- 4:22Speaker 1: are you waiting for? Get in the bitcoin game today
- 4:26Speaker 1: and diversify your portfolio. You actually talk to a real
- 4:29Speaker 1: person eight six six six seven nine six' eight seven
- 4:35Speaker 1: one eight sixty six six seven nine seven eight seven
- 4:40Speaker 1: to one or bitcoin ira dot com slash ben that's
- 4:45Speaker 1: bitcoin ira dot com slash ben to open a free
- 4:48Speaker 1: account and earn up to one thousand dollars bonus right. Now,
- 4:53Speaker 1: now the developing situation has been exacerbated by an increase
- 4:57Speaker 1: in the power blackouts and AS i, said the widespread
- 5:00Speaker 1: shortage of food and other supplies that led to a
- 5:04Speaker 1: surgeon daily anti communist protests that are spreading across Several
- 5:09Speaker 1: cuban provinces in recent. Days, now in one of the
- 5:12Speaker 1: more dramatic, displays you had a group of protesters set
- 5:16Speaker 1: fire to the local headquarters of The Cuban Communist. Party
- 5:20Speaker 1: that was certainly a big move for the. Protesters and
- 5:24Speaker 1: then On, Monday cuba's barely functional power grid collapsed yet,
- 5:29Speaker 1: again leading to that nationwide blackout that at press time
- 5:34Speaker 1: when the reports came out Of, cuba has not been
- 5:37Speaker 1: fully resolved and may not be anytime soon. Now in
- 5:41Speaker 1: a brief statement published by The Cuban regime outlet On,
- 5:44Speaker 1: tuesday the president claimed that The United states allegedly Threatens
- 5:49Speaker 1: cuba almost daily with overthrowing the constitutional order by. Force
- 5:55Speaker 1: those are his exact, words and then he said he
- 5:57Speaker 1: intends to take over the country under the retext of
- 6:00Speaker 1: what he describes As cuba's weakened, Economy they The United,
- 6:06Speaker 1: states claim and announce his plans to take over the,
- 6:10Speaker 1: country its, resources its, property and even the very economy
- 6:15Speaker 1: they seek to strangle in order to force us to.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Surrender the statement read in part. Now the president did
- 6:21Speaker 1: not attribute any responsibility For cuba's actual actions in decades
- 6:27Speaker 1: old situation to the disastrous communist policies or the cast
- 6:31Speaker 1: or regime that.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Got them to where they are right.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Now, instead he claimed that The United states has attacked
- 6:40Speaker 1: and sought to Isolate, cuba referring to THE us embargo
- 6:44Speaker 1: on the rogue communist.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Regime, quote this is the only way to.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Explain the fierce economic war being waged as collective punishment
- 6:54Speaker 1: against the entire. People face with the worst case, Scenario
- 6:58Speaker 1: cuba is guided by one, uncertainty any external aggressor will
- 7:04Speaker 1: face unbreakable resistance. Now the figurehead president also published a
- 7:09Speaker 1: copy of his statement on social. Media Diaz canal published
- 7:13Speaker 1: the message After trump told reporters at The White house
- 7:16Speaker 1: On tuesday That cuba is in very bad, shape which
- 7:20Speaker 1: is obviously. True, trump after pointing out That cuba is
- 7:24Speaker 1: talking to THE Us secretary Of Saint Marco, rubio, Added
- 7:28Speaker 1: we'll be doing something With cuba real. Soon On, Monday
- 7:31Speaker 1: trump also told reporters that he believe that he will
- 7:34Speaker 1: be having the honor of Taking. Cuba quote WHETHER i free,
- 7:39Speaker 1: it take, IT i THINK i could do ANYTHING i
- 7:41Speaker 1: want with.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It you want to know the. Truth they're a weekend
- 7:45Speaker 2: nation right, Now trump. Continued.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Now last, week Diz canal admitted that The cuban regime
- 7:51Speaker 1: officials have engaged in talks with THE us government, officials
- 7:55Speaker 1: ending weeks of speculation After trump first revealed the reporters
- 8:00Speaker 1: in Late february The cube had been talking to The United.
- 8:03Speaker 1: States days after the Has canal's, announcement The castre regime
- 8:08Speaker 1: announced it would lift restrictions imposed on Exiled cubans living,
- 8:14Speaker 1: abroad allowing them to quote invest In cuba's communist ruined
- 8:19Speaker 1: economy in an.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Apparent desperate effort to bring in.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Cash the cash starved regime has seen its main revenue,
- 8:27Speaker 1: streams such as, tourism, remittances and The cuban slave doctor's,
- 8:33Speaker 1: program significantly diminished by the regional efforts and The trump administration's.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Leadership.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Now speaking to reporters Alongside President trump And Vice PRESIDENT.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Jd vance On, Tuesday secretary Of State Marco rubio said
- 8:48Speaker 1: The cuba regime has to change dramatically since it has
- 8:52Speaker 1: an economy that does not work and a political and
- 8:56Speaker 1: governmental system that cannot fix. It said that the recently
- 9:01Speaker 1: announced measures are not enough to Fix cuba's ruined, economy
- 9:05Speaker 1: so they've got some big decisions to make over. Time
- 9:09Speaker 1: that revolution is not even a. Revolution he said that
- 9:12Speaker 1: thing they have has survived on subsidies from The Soviet
- 9:16Speaker 1: union and now From. Venezuela they don't get subsidies, anymore
- 9:21Speaker 1: so they're in a lot of.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Trouble rubio said to reporters.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And the people in, charge they don't know how to fix,
- 9:27Speaker 1: it so they have to get new people in.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Charge so this is where we are.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Now The cuba regime is clearly, imploding and every day
- 9:36Speaker 1: that goes, by the people In cuba are either fleeing
- 9:39Speaker 1: the country or it seems like they're willing to stand
- 9:42Speaker 1: up and fight for their. Future the question now is
- 9:46Speaker 1: will the regime. Fall we'll keep covering it THAT i
- 9:50Speaker 1: can promise. You with so much happening In iran and
- 9:54Speaker 1: also so much happening with fraud and abuse In, america
- 9:57Speaker 1: there have been some stories that have been overlooked that
- 10:00Speaker 1: need your. Attention one of them was a big victory
- 10:04Speaker 1: for The Second amendment In. California, now this was a
- 10:10Speaker 1: case that no one was, covering and it should be
- 10:13Speaker 1: covered because On, Tuesday california agreed to a settlement with
- 10:18Speaker 1: A Second Amendment foundation and The Firearms Policy coalition as
- 10:23Speaker 1: well as many other. Plaintiffs and they are now going
- 10:26Speaker 1: to pay the state Of california over one point three
- 10:30Speaker 1: million to cover the plaintiffs' attorney fees. Alone, now this
- 10:35Speaker 1: all is from a settlement that came from a lawsuit
- 10:39Speaker 1: that was filed Against California's Marketing firearms To miners, law
- 10:44Speaker 1: which crossed in The First amendment territory by banning firearm. Advertisements,
- 10:51Speaker 1: now this is something that we were expected to see
- 10:53Speaker 1: happen all over the country in liberal states If california
- 10:57Speaker 1: would have gotten away with. Us what they're trying to
- 10:59Speaker 1: do is bankrupt and shut down as many gun stores as,
- 11:02Speaker 1: possible and it's a way to ban. Firearms and so
- 11:06Speaker 1: they said that you can't market your firearms store or
- 11:11Speaker 1: your brand In california because they said it was marketing
- 11:14Speaker 1: to miners by. Default, now The Ninth circuit judge there
- 11:20Speaker 1: by the last Name, Lee september twenty twenty, three majority
- 11:24Speaker 1: opinion against the. Law he, wrote, quote the marketing firearms
- 11:28Speaker 1: to minor law does not directly and materially Advanced california's
- 11:32Speaker 1: substantial interest in reducing gun violence and the unlawful use
- 11:37Speaker 1: of firearms by. Miners there, was in, fact no evidence
- 11:41Speaker 1: in the record that a miner In california has ever
- 11:44Speaker 1: unlawfully bought a gun let alone because of an Ad now,
- 11:48Speaker 1: translation what they were saying as they were trying to
- 11:51Speaker 1: shut down The Second amendment and doing it through, advertising.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Is they were, saying, well you're marketing to. Kids and
- 11:57Speaker 2: a great.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Example of this would be like what we saw with
- 12:00Speaker 1: alcohol and, tobacco when it was clear they were marketing to.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Kids you Remember Joe cammel with With camel's cigarettes and,
- 12:07Speaker 1: like and then you could like get points out of
- 12:10Speaker 1: the packs and then, buy you, know merchandise that was
- 12:14Speaker 1: Like Joe, Cammell LIKE i remember having A Joe cammel
- 12:16Speaker 1: hat AND i was not old enough to. SMOKE i
- 12:19Speaker 1: remember it being like cool to have that kind of.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Stuff and they were clearly marketing with cartoon, characters Like
- 12:25Speaker 1: Joe cammell was a cartoon. Character they were obviously marketing to.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Kids so they got rid of, that but they didn't
- 12:32Speaker 1: say you couldn't advertise in. General, Well california was, like,
- 12:35Speaker 1: no, no you just can't. Advertise if we say that your
- 12:38Speaker 1: advertisements could have could make kids want to buy, it, Right,
- 12:42Speaker 1: like that's. Insane and it was a way for them
- 12:45Speaker 1: to shut down The Second amendment and basically get rid
- 12:48Speaker 1: of it in gun sales in essence In. California when
- 12:52Speaker 1: the judge looked at, this he, said, look there's this is.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Absurd there is no evidence that a minor In california
- 12:58Speaker 1: has ever gone out and on awfully bought a gun
- 13:00Speaker 1: in a gun, store and especially because of an ad
- 13:03Speaker 1: they saw for a gun manufacturer or a gun. Store
- 13:07Speaker 1: we also added, This california cannot straight jacket The First
- 13:12Speaker 1: amendment by on the one, hand allowing miners to possess
- 13:16Speaker 1: and use firearms and then on the other, hand banning
- 13:19Speaker 1: truthful advertisements about the.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Lawful use of a.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Firearm The First Amendment Policy coalition went in and they
- 13:28Speaker 1: fought this. Hard they fought, it and everybody was talking about, this, like,
- 13:32Speaker 1: wow there It's.
- 13:32Speaker 2: California they probably gonna. Lose guess.
- 13:34Speaker 1: What they announced the settlement ON x writing this after
- 13:38Speaker 1: losing twice at The Ninth, circuit you, know they're very.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Liberal The Ninth Circuit court Of appeals is very very.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Liberal california has agreed that it's minor firearm advertising ban
- 13:50Speaker 1: violates The First amendment and they will pay the plaintiffs
- 13:53Speaker 1: the one, million three hundred and eighty one, thousand seven
- 13:57Speaker 1: and forty nine dollars and seventy two cents for the attorney's.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Fees The Second Amendment foundation also posted this about the
- 14:05Speaker 1: Governor Gavin, newsom, saying, Quote Gavin newsom passed a law
- 14:08Speaker 1: to attack The First amendment because he was mad about
- 14:12Speaker 1: a twenty two long rifle that was meant for junior.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Shooters that little stunt has Cost california taxpayers over a million,
- 14:21Speaker 1: dollars not including Whatever California department Of justice spent on
- 14:26Speaker 1: their own, lawyers three hundred and fifty thousand to saf
- 14:30Speaker 1: five hundred and fifty thousand TO crpa coalition of playmiffs
- 14:34Speaker 1: in the same, lawsuit and another four hundred and eighty
- 14:37Speaker 1: thousand to The Safari Club international case on the same.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Issues so this all stem From Gavin newsom being angry
- 14:46Speaker 1: that their parents out there that could buy a twenty
- 14:49Speaker 1: two rifle that is meant for junior. Shooters by the,
- 14:51Speaker 1: WAY i have one for all three of my. Kids
- 14:55Speaker 1: If i'm not, mistaken AND i got a twenty two
- 14:57Speaker 1: rifle WHEN i was a.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Kid it's made smaller for as a. Kid.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Now does that MEAN i own the? Gun, YES i
- 15:02Speaker 1: own it for my. Kids my kids don't own that.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Gun is it their present of? Courses is it in my? Possession?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yes is in my My is it locked up in my?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Safe?
- 15:11Speaker 1: Yes, like if you're a sane human, being you understand kids.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Guns by the, way a four to ten shotgun that
- 15:18Speaker 1: my kid has that that is. Mine it's for him
- 15:21Speaker 1: to use when we go. Hunting it is not they're
- 15:23Speaker 1: not advertising or marketing it to him to go by by.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Himself and everyone knows this like this is. Normal it's not.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Sane and What Gavin newsom did is he decided to
- 15:33Speaker 1: lose his every loving mind and, said, oh you're marketing
- 15:37Speaker 1: to these, kids and you're and you're advertising these, kids
- 15:40Speaker 1: and so we're going to ban it so that you
- 15:41Speaker 1: can't advertise at all in the state Of. California well
- 15:46Speaker 1: that is now back fired. Massively it took deep, pockets
- 15:50Speaker 1: by the way by these groups to be able to fight.
- 15:53Speaker 2: This thank goodness they.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Did and it's ALSO i think sending a very clear
- 15:56Speaker 1: message to any other state in the country that's that's
- 15:58Speaker 1: thinking about doing the same thing The. California it did
- 16:00Speaker 1: In california was a test case that you will lose
- 16:03Speaker 1: and this will be a. Failure so this is one
- 16:06Speaker 1: of those. STORIES i, Say god Bless, america And god
- 16:09Speaker 1: bless those that have not been getting any media attention
- 16:12Speaker 1: that actually did, This like this is, incredible all, right
- 16:16Speaker 1: AND i love that there are people that are brave
- 16:18Speaker 1: enough to fight these wars the way that they just.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Did Gavin newsom getting slapped on the hand. Hard this
- 16:25Speaker 1: is a victory for The Second. Amendment it's also a
- 16:28Speaker 1: victory For First amendment right of free speech as, well
- 16:31Speaker 1: AND i wanted you to know about. It day two
- 16:35Speaker 1: has already happened of The Save act fight in The
- 16:37Speaker 1: United States, Senate and make no mistake about, it it's
- 16:40Speaker 1: exactly the Fight President Donald trump. Wanted after forcing the
- 16:45Speaker 1: bill into The senate, Floor republicans have now moved into
- 16:48Speaker 1: full debate mode and that alone is a major. Victory
- 16:52Speaker 1: why you may, ask, well because for the first time
- 16:55Speaker 1: in a long, time election integrity is not being whispered.
- 16:59Speaker 1: About it's being debated front and center on The senate,
- 17:03Speaker 1: floor and it is.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Heated and today the pressure turned up.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Dramatically President trump is not sitting on the sidelines.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Either he is leading this.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Charge he made it crystal clear To republicans In, washington
- 17:18Speaker 1: this is our defining. Moment this is not just another,
- 17:21Speaker 1: bill another, issue another thing that you should talk about
- 17:25Speaker 1: and move on. From The president made it clear saying
- 17:28Speaker 1: this is about the future Of american.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Elections, now behind the, scenes we also know The White
- 17:34Speaker 2: house is going into.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Overdrive in, Fact President trump himself is working the phones
- 17:40Speaker 1: talking to lawmakers and making it known that this legislation
- 17:44Speaker 1: is his first.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Priority it's not.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Optional as HOW i was described by one at The
- 17:50Speaker 1: White house who told me The president is willing to
- 17:52Speaker 1: sit down with Any republican he needs to to explain
- 17:56Speaker 1: to them exactly how important this moment. Is if the
- 18:00Speaker 1: message coming from The White house is simple and also,
- 18:03Speaker 1: powerful Only american citizens should Decide american. Elections it's not
- 18:09Speaker 1: a radical idea at, all and in, fact the polling
- 18:12Speaker 1: numbers show that overwhelmingly the majority Of, americans whether You're, Republican,
- 18:16Speaker 1: democrat or, independent support that exact language that The president,
- 18:21Speaker 1: use saying Only american citizens should Decide american. Elections And
- 18:27Speaker 1: republicans they're finally stepping up on day. TWO gop leaders
- 18:32Speaker 1: are not backing, down thank, Goodness they're even going on,
- 18:36Speaker 1: offense and they're using this debate to draw one of
- 18:38Speaker 1: the clearest contrasts we've seen in years between the two.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Parties republicans are, saying this is common, sense requiring proof
- 18:47Speaker 1: of citizenship and requiring VOTER id to protect the integrity
- 18:53Speaker 1: of the ballot.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Box that's.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It the clearest talking points we've seen on an issue
- 18:57Speaker 1: in a very long, time and what's happening today is
- 19:01Speaker 1: just as important politically as it is. Legislatively republicans are
- 19:05Speaker 1: now forcing Every democrat In washington to take a position
- 19:10Speaker 1: on the record in front of The american people, now
- 19:15Speaker 1: because The republicans are unified and pushing. Forward you guessed,
- 19:18Speaker 1: It democrats are doing the exact same. Thing they're lining
- 19:22Speaker 1: up in total. Opposition every Single democrat is digging in
- 19:28Speaker 1: trying to block this, bill refusing to support these voter
- 19:31Speaker 1: integrity measures. Altogether And republicans are making sure that voters
- 19:37Speaker 1: see that contrast loud and clear going into the mid.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Terms even before a final, Vote republicans have already achieved something.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Significant they've made election integrity one of the biggest issues
- 19:48Speaker 1: in the country. Again they've taken it out of the
- 19:51Speaker 1: shadows and put it right at the center of the
- 19:53Speaker 1: national conversation thanks To President. Trump and that's not by.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Accident this Was Present trump's strategy all. Along that's about
- 20:02Speaker 1: defining the future of our. Elections it's also about defining
- 20:06Speaker 1: the next. Election and, tonight As day three comes at,
- 20:11Speaker 1: us the reality is. Clear President trump has turned The
- 20:15Speaker 1: Save act into a national. Showdown republicans finally are unified
- 20:20Speaker 1: they're even energized on the for of The senate and
- 20:24Speaker 1: finally on, offense And democrats are being forced to defend
- 20:29Speaker 1: their impossible position in front of The american people that
- 20:34Speaker 1: they want people from outside the country who are Not
- 20:37Speaker 1: american citizens to vote in our. Elections, now to be,
- 20:41Speaker 1: clear this fight is far from. Over in, fact it's
- 20:45Speaker 1: just getting. Started but one thing that is already, clear
- 20:49Speaker 1: the battle over election integrity is now front and center
- 20:52Speaker 1: In america and it's not going away anytime.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Soon.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Now Senator Mark, langford he's one of the co sponsors
- 20:59Speaker 1: of this, legislation went On fox And friends to talk
- 21:02Speaker 1: about the road forward on The Save act and The
- 21:05Speaker 1: democrat stance on.
- 21:06Speaker 2: THIS i want you to listen to what he.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Said, today The senate resuming its fight over The Save
- 21:13Speaker 3: America Act President trump's push for VOTER. Id the debate
- 21:16Speaker 3: expected to go through the, weekend if not next. Week
- 21:20Speaker 3: but will his party be able to secure the VOTES?
- 21:22Speaker 3: Gop Senator James, langford a co sponsor of this, bill joins. Us,
- 21:27Speaker 3: now good morning to, You, senator good, morning good. Morning
- 21:29Speaker 3: where does it stand?
- 21:30Speaker 4: Today so it came over from The. House we took The.
- 21:33Speaker 4: House what they actually passed The Save America. Act we
- 21:36Speaker 4: brought it up with the first motion and actually passed that.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Motion we had fifty one votes to be able to move.
- 21:40Speaker 4: It so now it starts the amendment process and all
- 21:43Speaker 4: the public debate on.
- 21:44Speaker 5: It so it's in a good spot at this.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Point it has the requirement for VOTER id as a
- 21:49Speaker 4: requirement for proof of citizenship to be able to, register
- 21:52Speaker 4: so that's the first step on.
- 21:53Speaker 5: It that's what came from The.
- 21:54Speaker 3: House you, know back in ninety, Six Chuck, schumer he supported.
- 21:58Speaker 3: This he, said you should have AN. Id why is
- 22:01Speaker 3: it The democrats are changing their minds now or why
- 22:03Speaker 3: are they so against this when the rest of the
- 22:05Speaker 3: public it's at least an eighty twenty.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Issue it, is and this is beyond belief for.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Me the vast majority Of, americans Both, Republican, democrat, independent doesn't.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Matter they see this as common.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Sense they don't want someone to just walk into a
- 22:17Speaker 4: polling place and say my name Is John smith and
- 22:19Speaker 4: they look up and say is it That John smith On Windsor. Street,
- 22:23Speaker 4: yes it is, okay then be able to say vote.
- 22:25Speaker 4: No one wants that on, It and everybody kind of
- 22:26Speaker 4: sees the. Benefit everyone also has some kind of idea
- 22:29Speaker 4: when they go to the grocery, store when they do
- 22:30Speaker 4: all kinds of, purchases all kinds of. Locations quite, frankly
- 22:33Speaker 4: every federal building requires AN id when you walk. In
- 22:36Speaker 4: so this is a common thing That americans are used.
- 22:39Speaker 3: To and if Some republicans say this should be a state,
- 22:41Speaker 3: issue not a federal. Issue but for you In, oklahoma
- 22:44Speaker 3: you all have to show AN id for. Everything even
- 22:46Speaker 3: if you do a mail in, ballot you have to
- 22:47Speaker 3: have it, notarized which means you had to show AN.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Id you have to prove that you're a. Citizen how
- 22:52Speaker 3: does the language in this AND i know that it's
- 22:54Speaker 3: already passed in The, house the, bill but there are some.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Amendments how does that affect your state and other states
- 22:58Speaker 3: that have similar.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Laws, yeah so Our oklahoma law is very very.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Strong we're considered one of the strongest clearest examples of
- 23:05Speaker 4: how to do a fraud proof. Election what we do In.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Oklahoma you have to show AN id to, vote have
- 23:10Speaker 4: to show AN id to absentee in person, vote and
- 23:13Speaker 4: you have to show AN id to do mail in.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Balloting that, is you go to a, bank you.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Go To post, office other places that have a notary
- 23:19Speaker 4: show an idea, there send your ballot in to be
- 23:20Speaker 4: able to do. It so, Well i'm trying to make
- 23:22Speaker 4: sure is whatever we do on this bill doesn't make
- 23:25Speaker 4: our system. Weaker it makes it that at least that
- 23:28Speaker 4: level or stronger on. It because we have such a
- 23:31Speaker 4: good secure system In, Oklahoma let's make sure that we
- 23:34Speaker 4: can actually have other states have a system at least that's.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Secure so the question most people are asking now is
- 23:40Speaker 1: what happens, next what to watch for over the next
- 23:43Speaker 1: couple of.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Days is this fight about to? Intensify let me answer
- 23:47Speaker 2: that for.
- 23:48Speaker 1: You, yes The senate debate is going to continue and
- 23:51Speaker 1: it's going to get more. Aggressive republicans are going to
- 23:54Speaker 1: keep hammering the same, message proof of, citizenship VOTER id.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Election you can.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Also expect more speeches on the, floor more media, appearances
- 24:04Speaker 1: and a full court press to keep the issue dominating
- 24:07Speaker 1: the national headlines and the. Conversation second of, all all
- 24:11Speaker 1: eyes are on key procedural votes coming up as, well
- 24:15Speaker 1: and this is the big.
- 24:16Speaker 2: One republicans will.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Try to move the bill closer to a final, vote
- 24:20Speaker 1: but that means dealing with a. Filibuster so the question becomes,
- 24:24Speaker 1: this can they get enough support to advance it further
- 24:28Speaker 1: or do they escalate the pressure even? More third Watch President.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Trump if the pressure is high, now it's about to
- 24:36Speaker 1: get even. Higher you can expect more direct outreach from
- 24:40Speaker 1: The president to, senators more public statements to, senators and
- 24:44Speaker 1: even potentially calling out anyone who's not fully on. Board
- 24:48Speaker 1: President trump and The White house have made it clear
- 24:50Speaker 1: this is the defining issue and he's not letting it.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Fade we'll keep following this.
- 24:56Speaker 1: STORY i can promise you that we've got a lot
