- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Money Making Conversation Masterclass. I am your host
- 0:02Speaker 1: with Sean McDonald. I recognized that we all have different
- 0:05Speaker 1: definitions of success. For real, for you, it may be
- 0:08Speaker 1: the size of your paycheck. Mine is inspiring people to
- 0:11Speaker 1: accomplish their goals and live their very best life. That's
- 0:14Speaker 1: why I tell people all the time, basically it's time
- 0:17Speaker 1: to stop reading other people's success stores and start writing
- 0:19Speaker 1: your own. People always talking about purpose or gift. If
- 0:22Speaker 1: you have a gift, lead with your gift, and most importantly,
- 0:25Speaker 1: don't let your friends, family, or coworkers stop you from
- 0:28Speaker 1: planning or living your dream. My guests don't show that
- 0:31Speaker 1: they are Tiffany Halls and Tianna Harris and Tea and Tea.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Then starting a new original unscripted series for own ladies
- 0:39Speaker 1: who list Atlanta real estate. You know, I tell you something,
- 0:42Speaker 1: you know? You know that's that's the whole world for
- 0:45Speaker 1: So it's really gonna be a really informed with the interview,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but really one of the few interviews I get on
- 0:49Speaker 1: the show that really they got to answer some personal
- 0:52Speaker 1: question about myself. Because I've been signed the paper, I
- 0:53Speaker 1: don't know what I've been designed in all these years
- 0:56Speaker 1: This shows about six top notch female real estate professionals
- 0:59Speaker 1: who sell the city of Atlanta while juggling active social
- 1:02Speaker 1: and personal lives. But in the business where relationships matter,
- 1:06Speaker 1: drama often comes with the territory. Let let me die
- 1:10Speaker 1: more detail about my guests. Tiffany Hawes graduated from Atlanta's
- 1:13Speaker 1: John Marshall Law School in December and prior to that laws.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Prior to law school, ms Halls worked as a real
- 1:20Speaker 1: estate paralegal for more than eight years. Tina Harrison is
- 1:23Speaker 1: a rising superstar, as they say. She is attending Tennessee
- 1:27Speaker 1: State University of the Tract and Field Scholarship. Let's see
- 1:30Speaker 1: if she can still spread now, okay, and before receiving
- 1:33Speaker 1: her Georgia Bulldog degree from their University of Georgia. You
- 1:36Speaker 1: know she's bringing both for yous HBCU and national Championship,
- 1:39Speaker 1: So we gotta talk about that. We'll be discussing about
- 1:42Speaker 1: key things in the show real estate success, friendship, businesswomen,
- 1:46Speaker 1: which is really really important, especially with you know, women's history.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Money had becoming so prominent, which is the month of
- 1:52Speaker 1: March every year on the calendar, motherhood, which is also important,
- 1:56Speaker 1: marriage and love. Please walking on to Money, Making Conversation
- 1:59Speaker 1: Matter the Class from their own series, Ladies Who List Atlanta,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Tiffany Halls and Tiana Harrison. How are you doing, Ladies?
- 2:09Speaker 1: There was a lot. There was a lot, wasn't it.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I know I missed the superstar, the Superstar super Bowl Husband.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I remember I missed him. I'm gonna talk about it.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So let's start with you. Tiffany, how is life treating you?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Before the show? Because what I try to do one
- 2:26Speaker 1: making conversation masterclass. I try to get nuggets of information
- 2:29Speaker 1: because people and the sience want to be you in
- 2:32Speaker 1: a sense before you came on television, a lot of
- 2:34Speaker 1: people aspire to do what you do. What are some
- 2:37Speaker 1: of the mistakes that people make? Are soon when they
- 2:41Speaker 1: get it, when they get an opportunity to pursue your
- 2:44Speaker 1: career type Um, I think in the number one, thank
- 2:50Speaker 1: you so much for having me on your show. I
- 2:53Speaker 1: do want to show you my appreciation for that you.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But I think what in the world of social media,
- 3:00Speaker 1: A lot of people think it's easy or think that
- 3:03Speaker 1: success comes overnight. So in order for me to have
- 3:07Speaker 1: went to law school, I first had to graduate undergrad
- 3:10Speaker 1: So this law school thing and me becoming a lawyer
- 3:13Speaker 1: started back in two thousand and six and so ten
- 3:16Speaker 1: years from that is two thousand and sixteen, you know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: and now we're in two This is years and years
- 3:24Speaker 1: of work just to get to where I am. And
- 3:27Speaker 1: I think that in the world of social media, people
- 3:30Speaker 1: think that it happens overnight. So when their dream is
- 3:32Speaker 1: not happening fast enough, they think that maybe other people
- 3:36Speaker 1: had like a hand up, or somebody like you know,
- 3:40Speaker 1: gave them what they had. But in reality, anything, um,
- 3:44Speaker 1: any type of success comes with time, and it comes
- 3:47Speaker 1: with a lot of work and a lot of focus,
- 3:49Speaker 1: and a lot of dedication and just simply sticking to
- 3:52Speaker 1: the path. And so what I would want people to
- 3:55Speaker 1: know from me is that this is definitely not a
- 3:59Speaker 1: dream that happened overnight. This is something that I've been
- 4:02Speaker 1: working on for years, for almost twenty years at this point. Well,
- 4:07Speaker 1: congratulations Tiana Harrison. Uh. They list to show, as you know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: they have a Kiana, she's a broker, Crystal she's a
- 4:14Speaker 1: closing attorney, Robin she's a broker, and a Tiffany she
- 4:18Speaker 1: mentioned her law background, she's a closing attorney. And Tianna,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you are a luxury agent. And cure as a luxury agent. Now,
- 4:26Speaker 1: what what are the word luxury? Because is that a
- 4:29Speaker 1: certain cut office five hundred thousand dollars and up luxury
- 4:32Speaker 1: a million dollars in up luxury? What is the word luxury?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Pop into the real estate business. I'm like I would
- 4:39Speaker 1: know if I'm in the luxury house basically, so Rishan,
- 4:44Speaker 1: thank you for having me. I would dive right into it.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Um and I have actually adopted this from my counterpart
- 4:52Speaker 1: Um Tiffany, that luxury is the ability to purchase period,
- 4:58Speaker 1: especially because there have been so many different disparities within
- 5:01Speaker 1: our community. So for me, luxury is being able to
- 5:06Speaker 1: get to the closing table to accomplish a dream um
- 5:10Speaker 1: home ownership. You stated that you have purchased real estate
- 5:14Speaker 1: on the commercial and residential side, so that is a
- 5:17Speaker 1: luxury in general. We are in the South, so it
- 5:22Speaker 1: could be subjective to price point. There are certain areas
- 5:25Speaker 1: that you can go to where luxury right might mean
- 5:29Speaker 1: five hundred thousand dollars up, and then other areas where
- 5:32Speaker 1: luxury is a million enough. So it just depends. Because
- 5:37Speaker 1: still with being in the South, you can definitely get
- 5:40Speaker 1: more for your money as opposed to our alternative bigger Cities.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 5:48Speaker 1: with Rushan McDonald. Now, let's return to Money Making Conversations
- 5:54Speaker 1: Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. I want to just tell your ladies.
- 5:58Speaker 1: First of all, I find you compelling and so I
- 6:01Speaker 1: want to bring you back on my show. We're gonna
- 6:03Speaker 1: do this interview because I love having both of you,
- 6:06Speaker 1: But I also want to give you your value because
- 6:08Speaker 1: each one of you I could have spoken to individually.
- 6:11Speaker 1: That's how compelling you are because of the fact that
- 6:13Speaker 1: I've done my research, and then it's it's you know,
- 6:16Speaker 1: the whole television show is a component that as to
- 6:19Speaker 1: why we're doing this interview today. But what you're accomplishing
- 6:22Speaker 1: as black women is equally powerful because of the fact
- 6:25Speaker 1: that you know, we all know discrimination the issues out there.
- 6:29Speaker 1: You are a woman, you are attractive women, and so
- 6:32Speaker 1: that means that there's a certain stereotype that can come
- 6:35Speaker 1: with that, unfortunately from men and also from women. Okay,
- 6:40Speaker 1: so when you when you when you're rolling through the
- 6:42Speaker 1: whole process, especially on the legal antiffany, what what do
- 6:45Speaker 1: you find this disappoints you as far as what the
- 6:49Speaker 1: people the perception that people have about you, and maybe not,
- 6:53Speaker 1: maybe I'm wrong, but I've been black all my life,
- 6:55Speaker 1: so I know what. I know where the racism is,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and I know stereotypes is, and I know I've been
- 6:59Speaker 1: underpaid and i know I've been discarded because of the
- 7:02Speaker 1: color of my skin. Talk to us about your journey,
- 7:05Speaker 1: which I would led to this television show, But there
- 7:07Speaker 1: has been a journey, like you said in your earlier
- 7:10Speaker 1: speaking early appresentation, talk about that. Okay, So we can
- 7:15Speaker 1: talk about this UM in two ways, and this is
- 7:18Speaker 1: actually something that is kind of on the surface of
- 7:21Speaker 1: what's going on in my life right now. But we
- 7:24Speaker 1: will talk about just being a black woman attorney UM
- 7:28Speaker 1: in Georgia, and so sometimes we are looked at as
- 7:32Speaker 1: if we don't have enough education to be able to
- 7:36Speaker 1: make proper decisions. I've had times where I would be
- 7:40Speaker 1: at the closing table and somebody would say to me,
- 7:44Speaker 1: or prior to the closing table, I'm gonna call so
- 7:48Speaker 1: and so white law firm to see if what you're
- 7:51Speaker 1: saying is legitimate, because I don't believe you. I don't
- 7:55Speaker 1: think that you know what you're doing, which is fine.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You know, this is what I tell people all the time.
- 7:59Speaker 1: We all passed the same bar, you know, and so
- 8:02Speaker 1: that that bar is what equalized all of us. It
- 8:05Speaker 1: didn't matter what school you went into, it didn't matter
- 8:08Speaker 1: your level of education. In order to become an attorney,
- 8:12Speaker 1: you had to pass that bar, and I did so
- 8:15Speaker 1: on the first time with flying colors. So when people
- 8:18Speaker 1: want to um say that maybe I'm not as educated
- 8:23Speaker 1: because the color of my skin, or maybe because how
- 8:25Speaker 1: I look, um, you know, I just take it with
- 8:28Speaker 1: a grain of salt because I know who I am
- 8:31Speaker 1: and I know my education, and I have a successful
- 8:36Speaker 1: black law firm in Atlanta that are that is doing wonderfully,
- 8:40Speaker 1: not just amongst people who look like me, but amongst
- 8:44Speaker 1: my other counterparts. They still support UM my business, and
- 8:48Speaker 1: I'm just as successful because of them as well. UM
- 8:52Speaker 1: within our community there is so since the last episode,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I don't know if you've been able to get caught
- 8:57Speaker 1: up me and the other close an attorney. It's not
- 9:00Speaker 1: that we like each other or we dislike each other.
- 9:03Speaker 1: We've just never grown into having a friendship. And viewers
- 9:08Speaker 1: of the show have turned that into maybe possibly me
- 9:12Speaker 1: not liking Crystal because of the color of her skin
- 9:16Speaker 1: because she's darker than me, and so you're they're bringing
- 9:20Speaker 1: in this whole colorism thing. I did a lot with
- 9:23Speaker 1: my mother, which if people see my mother, my mother
- 9:27Speaker 1: is darker than every castmate on Ladies who List. Colorism
- 9:32Speaker 1: was a huge thing um with her and with the
- 9:37Speaker 1: upbringing of me, it is something that we talked about.
- 9:41Speaker 1: My mother was in a household where all her siblings
- 9:44Speaker 1: were lighter than her. Her mother and her father were
- 9:47Speaker 1: lighted than her, and so she grew up being the
- 9:50Speaker 1: black child and this shaped her into not even wanting
- 9:55Speaker 1: dark skinned children because she felt like the darkness of
- 10:00Speaker 1: her skin was negative, which is why you have me
- 10:04Speaker 1: a mixed child, you know what I'm saying. So it's
- 10:07Speaker 1: really deeply rooted. It's a really big issue, and it
- 10:11Speaker 1: has affected my family seriously. And to have viewers try
- 10:16Speaker 1: to accuse me of doing so, which I never respond
- 10:19Speaker 1: to any of the entertainment opinions, but this kind of
- 10:23Speaker 1: hit me hard because I know personally what I've gone through,
- 10:27Speaker 1: So you kind of get it from both sides. But
- 10:29Speaker 1: in all of it, you have to I have to
- 10:31Speaker 1: remain positive and grateful that number one, I even have
- 10:36Speaker 1: this platform to be able to discuss issues like this.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And I have this platform to show people it doesn't
- 10:42Speaker 1: matter if you're black, it doesn't matter if you're white.
- 10:44Speaker 1: You can succeed and and do what's necessary to get
- 10:47Speaker 1: to wherever you want to go. Wow, And I understand that.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And I have six sisters, two brothers, you know, and
- 10:53Speaker 1: it's interesting in the black family, nobody's the same shade, right,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you know, Dad like because she's that college, she's moking.
- 11:02Speaker 1: But Tiana, you know, you you know, to do this show.
- 11:05Speaker 1: That's when I interview people who on these type of shows,
- 11:08Speaker 1: these unscripted shows. You know, you can become a victim
- 11:11Speaker 1: of editing. You can become a victim of the story.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You know, that's not that's not how where they went.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But they're trying to be entertainment, and you have to
- 11:20Speaker 1: deal with it on social media. You have to explain
- 11:21Speaker 1: yourself sometimes. Now, you know, I I know why we
- 11:25Speaker 1: do this. You know, we try to broaden our career,
- 11:27Speaker 1: we try to build our brand. We're trying to build
- 11:29Speaker 1: our social media. Also, these basically can be giant info
- 11:33Speaker 1: commercials if it works out right. Okay, now, you being
- 11:37Speaker 1: who you are, you know you already come from I
- 11:40Speaker 1: would say a celebrity type background because of your your husband.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You know, he's high profile football players, super Bowl champion twice.
- 11:48Speaker 1: This Bridge Dealers, by the way, my favorite team. Okay,
- 11:51Speaker 1: so I throw that out there and so so talk
- 11:54Speaker 1: about you know, because that can come into your to
- 11:57Speaker 1: this conversation and I'll be honest is with you. You
- 12:01Speaker 1: know that was a huge part of your bio, was
- 12:04Speaker 1: him and I cut it out. I ain't ain't they
- 12:08Speaker 1: got nothing to do and what people want to throw
- 12:11Speaker 1: that in? So so, but you're trying to build you
- 12:13Speaker 1: who you are, your brand. Talk about the leveling of
- 12:16Speaker 1: trying to build your brand and while you're doing this
- 12:19Speaker 1: show a right, So you know it's it's a little
- 12:25Speaker 1: bit of a challenge because while my brand is something
- 12:29Speaker 1: that I had to get out there and work at
- 12:33Speaker 1: and work on, my husband is an integral part of
- 12:38Speaker 1: my journey. So if you know me, you understand that
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm so inclusive, totally inclusive of the black male leadership
- 12:47Speaker 1: influence like that is my thing. So I never want
- 12:51Speaker 1: to exclude him from my story. So I was I wrong?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Was I wrong? I was wrong? You were absolutely on
- 12:59Speaker 1: top of it and that and I'm glad that you
- 13:01Speaker 1: brought that up, but I have to tell you how
- 13:03Speaker 1: much I promote um men in your position. I promote
- 13:08Speaker 1: men in my husband's position because he supports who I
- 13:12Speaker 1: am and he supports what I do, and he would
- 13:15Speaker 1: have had the same response that you did. Wait a minute,
- 13:17Speaker 1: this is a dominant black female who was doing amazing things,
- 13:22Speaker 1: So that is his stance as well. So when it
- 13:25Speaker 1: came down to that, you can't negate the story exactly.
- 13:29Speaker 1: But as you're stating, I had to put in a
- 13:32Speaker 1: lot of groundwork to get me where I am right now.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I had to cultivate a lot of different relationships. I
- 13:38Speaker 1: had to make sure that the respect was mutual on
- 13:42Speaker 1: both sides of the fence, as far as you know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: within my clientele and as far as our household. So
- 13:50Speaker 1: having that having that respect from him and for him
- 13:54Speaker 1: has totally been a been instrumental in my progress, in
- 14:01Speaker 1: my development and the success that I've had. So I
- 14:04Speaker 1: hope that answers it a little bit. He's great at
- 14:06Speaker 1: what he's does, what he does, and what he has
- 14:09Speaker 1: done in the past, but we have triumph through some
- 14:13Speaker 1: very difficult times. So I didn't come into this you know,
- 14:17Speaker 1: with the financial status that some may feel. But we
- 14:22Speaker 1: work together throughout those transitions of football to get to
- 14:26Speaker 1: where we both are right now, there you go. I
- 14:29Speaker 1: love it. I love it. We'll be right back with
- 14:30Speaker 1: more Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. Now, let's
- 14:37Speaker 1: return to Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. Now,
- 14:42Speaker 1: I gotta this is what the end of you become selfish? Snap,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you know, because I bought a few houses in my time.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I'm talking to the closing attorney here, okay, and they
- 14:53Speaker 1: slide that big old piece of paper in front, I
- 14:55Speaker 1: mean piece of pa. I wish it was a piece
- 14:56Speaker 1: of paper. I may take the time to read it.
- 14:59Speaker 1: It's about it's a Bible. It's really a Bible. Nobody
- 15:02Speaker 1: reads a Bible in one day. Okay. And you gotta
- 15:05Speaker 1: close on the day that they tell you too. So
- 15:09Speaker 1: could you please tell me Tiffany has no first time
- 15:15Speaker 1: ball passed it? Georgia Law, you know it, black and white?
- 15:19Speaker 1: You the best? What is it that deck of pages
- 15:24Speaker 1: that I can't under I can't take time? What the
- 15:27Speaker 1: end if the order? Because of that? Who your cousin
- 15:31Speaker 1: named by being there? You know? Help me out. Okay,
- 15:34Speaker 1: So let me let me write this down. If it's
- 15:37Speaker 1: if you're buying a property cash, the paperwork is not
- 15:40Speaker 1: gonna be that heavy. It's gonna be about ten documents,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and those documents are gonna be in favor of the
- 15:46Speaker 1: law firm. If the law firm messes up, this is
- 15:48Speaker 1: how we can get our money. This is how we
- 15:50Speaker 1: can fix the issue, and you have to agree to
- 15:52Speaker 1: fix it. Okay. So when you are and it's it's
- 15:55Speaker 1: pretty much that simple. When you're getting financing, that's when
- 15:59Speaker 1: we're happening bible stacks of paper. And so the way
- 16:03Speaker 1: that I try to tell my first time home buyers
- 16:07Speaker 1: is this, these are all the ways the lender camp
- 16:10Speaker 1: or close on you if you stop paying for your mortgage.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Every document is here because at some point a lender
- 16:18Speaker 1: was sued and they want or maybe a lender tried
- 16:22Speaker 1: to foreclose and they couldn't, So all the documents are
- 16:26Speaker 1: in favor of the lender to make sure that if
- 16:29Speaker 1: you don't pay your mortgage that they can get their
- 16:32Speaker 1: money back. So, as a buyer, what is important to
- 16:36Speaker 1: you out of this hundred and fifty page stack of paper?
- 16:39Speaker 1: What is important to you. Number one, what's important to
- 16:42Speaker 1: you is going to be your clothes and disclosure or
- 16:44Speaker 1: your settlements ement. This is what outlines all the numbers.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So you want to make sure that your credits are there.
- 16:50Speaker 1: If the seller is giving five thousand dollars and closing costs,
- 16:53Speaker 1: you want to make sure that's there. If you have
- 16:56Speaker 1: put down earnest money, you want to make sure that
- 16:58Speaker 1: that's there. You want to make sure the lender is
- 17:00Speaker 1: not overcharging you. You want to make sure that the
- 17:03Speaker 1: attorney's office is not overcharging you. And what you expected
- 17:06Speaker 1: to bring to closing is on that closing disclosure. The
- 17:09Speaker 1: next big document that you want to make sure is
- 17:12Speaker 1: correct is your note. This is your promise to pay
- 17:15Speaker 1: back this loan, and it has your interest rate on there.
- 17:19Speaker 1: So the whole time you've been speaking to your lender
- 17:21Speaker 1: and your lender has said that you were getting a
- 17:23Speaker 1: two point five percent interest rate, but you get to
- 17:26Speaker 1: my closing table and that note says five percent. Your
- 17:30Speaker 1: interest rate is five percent. You want to make sure
- 17:33Speaker 1: that on that note it has your proper interest rate,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and so that is a document that you care about.
- 17:40Speaker 1: You also care about the title to your property. You
- 17:42Speaker 1: want to make sure that your name is spelled correctly.
- 17:45Speaker 1: You want to make sure that the legal description is
- 17:48Speaker 1: correct so that you're buying and purchasing the correct property.
- 17:51Speaker 1: You want to make sure that if you have a
- 17:53Speaker 1: spouse that's supposed to be on that D, that they
- 17:55Speaker 1: are on that D. Okay, You also want to look
- 17:59Speaker 1: at your amorti zation. This is the most scariest document
- 18:03Speaker 1: out of all of them, right, it's all scary. It's scary.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Now, this one's scary scary because
- 18:11Speaker 1: you're borrowing two hundred and fifty thousands, but yet you're
- 18:14Speaker 1: having to pay back seven hundred thousands. So this amortization
- 18:18Speaker 1: outlines that, and it shows you how your scheduled payments
- 18:22Speaker 1: go over the full life of the loan, and most
- 18:24Speaker 1: of the time people are getting dirty years for the loan.
- 18:27Speaker 1: But I also educate you that if you pay more
- 18:31Speaker 1: down on your principle, now this amortization it switches, it changes,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and now you're not paying as money back with the
- 18:37Speaker 1: additional interest as you should after that. Honestly, doesn't matter
- 18:42Speaker 1: what you're signing, you're either gonna agree to it and
- 18:45Speaker 1: get your house or you're not. The lender is not
- 18:48Speaker 1: going to negotiate anything. So sign them papers I have
- 18:54Speaker 1: I have to not be signed now, Tianna. Now so
- 18:57Speaker 1: you walcome me into this door. You know, you know
- 19:00Speaker 1: I've never met Tiffany in my life. Usually that's the case,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I've been working. You
- 19:04Speaker 1: run me all over the neighborhood, walk me to some properties.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I kind of like, I don't like you know, you know,
- 19:11Speaker 1: you might have oversold some stuff and not walking in
- 19:13Speaker 1: and go okay, really I don't know about that. You
- 19:17Speaker 1: tell me. You know, they might say a million. I said,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I want five hundred thousand. You said, look, you might
- 19:23Speaker 1: will get out of this buildingcause a think nobody gonna
- 19:25Speaker 1: give you that price for that. So you try to
- 19:26Speaker 1: keep a certain level of sanity in my purchasing mind. Now,
- 19:32Speaker 1: when you're dealing with a person and they how do
- 19:35Speaker 1: how do you establish that relationship with a potential client?
- 19:39Speaker 1: Just walk us through that step process that you do, Tiana. Okay,
- 19:43Speaker 1: so you know, first things first, we have to have
- 19:46Speaker 1: a consultation. I have to see where you are and
- 19:49Speaker 1: you have to you know, go through mine process and
- 19:53Speaker 1: see if it works for you and you're you know,
- 19:56Speaker 1: you could be you, It could be you and your family,
- 19:58Speaker 1: It could be you and a sickn se can other
- 20:01Speaker 1: UM and so it just has to work for you.
- 20:03Speaker 1: We have a consultation, we discuss the things that are
- 20:06Speaker 1: important to your purchase. UM. We we talk about whether
- 20:11Speaker 1: you're gonna finance the property or whether you're gonna purchase
- 20:14Speaker 1: the property cash or whatever. You know, way you're going
- 20:17Speaker 1: to UM get the property conveyed to you. Typically it's finance,
- 20:22Speaker 1: And as Tiffany discussed, once we get there, you're gonna
- 20:25Speaker 1: get that stack of papers. But prior to we're gonna
- 20:28Speaker 1: go out and we're gonna look at homes whichever you're
- 20:32Speaker 1: you feel comfortable with that approval mount is, then we're
- 20:36Speaker 1: gonna go look at homes within that realm and decide
- 20:41Speaker 1: on what's the best property for you investment wise, because
- 20:44Speaker 1: I oftentimes when people purchase their first property, it's not
- 20:47Speaker 1: there forever home, and you have to understand that you
- 20:50Speaker 1: may not get everything that you want within that first property,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but it is your tool to building wealth for the
- 20:58Speaker 1: next property or for the properties succumbed down the line.
- 21:02Speaker 1: So it's vitally important that you speak with a reputable
- 21:06Speaker 1: agent who understands the market and who is knowledgeable in
- 21:09Speaker 1: the market, because markets change and trends change. So once
- 21:14Speaker 1: we find the home of that you want, or find
- 21:18Speaker 1: a home that's best fit for you, then I link
- 21:22Speaker 1: you with my preferred closing attorney, Tiffany and her the lender,
- 21:28Speaker 1: and myself we get together so that we can successfully
- 21:31Speaker 1: get you to the closing table. When you meet Tiffany
- 21:35Speaker 1: Um as a first time HomeBuyer, she walks you through
- 21:37Speaker 1: every single step of the thick stack of paper that
- 21:42Speaker 1: you'll go through, and you're gonna say, why am I
- 21:45Speaker 1: signing a document three or four times it says that
- 21:49Speaker 1: if this property for a close, it's got dot dot
- 21:52Speaker 1: And it's because they have to tell you over and
- 21:55Speaker 1: over again what it is that you're signing. And so
- 21:57Speaker 1: we just basically, I'm a call me. I'm a calming
- 22:00Speaker 1: agent to get you through this process because it can
- 22:04Speaker 1: have a lot of ups and downs, and so I'm
- 22:07Speaker 1: gonna hold your hand the hallway girl, and make sure
- 22:10Speaker 1: that you're okay even when we get to the bumps
- 22:13Speaker 1: of the road. I am enjoying this interview. I'm talking
- 22:16Speaker 1: to two of the stars and six of them. But
- 22:18Speaker 1: I'm talking only to of the ladies who list Atlanta
- 22:22Speaker 1: is uh six top nots females in the real estate
- 22:25Speaker 1: of profession seldust and they of Atlanta. And you know,
- 22:28Speaker 1: it's a reality show docuseries, so they have drama. They
- 22:31Speaker 1: talk about their personal lives and sometimes arguments, which I
- 22:34Speaker 1: always hate when I see arguments on the show. You know,
- 22:36Speaker 1: they always want to always want to magnify the argument,
- 22:40Speaker 1: you know, like there's confrontation. That's uh, that that drives
- 22:43Speaker 1: my my reason to watch. What drives my reason to
- 22:46Speaker 1: watch this intellect, if I drives my reason to watch,
- 22:48Speaker 1: is being able to get information. I think that's what
- 22:51Speaker 1: we've advanced. And I appreciate this conversation. And you're delivering
- 22:55Speaker 1: exactly what I thought I would give from you. You
- 22:57Speaker 1: guys have educated me, educated my audience because of the
- 23:00Speaker 1: fact that this show has value and and a lot
- 23:03Speaker 1: of people don't understand that because they don't get caught
- 23:05Speaker 1: up into the looks to close the houses. The tone
- 23:09Speaker 1: of the show where the tone of the show. It's
- 23:11Speaker 1: about six intelligent women who are making inroads into this business.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I'm fortunate that I'm getting to speak to two of them.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And if you listen to this show, watching this show,
- 23:20Speaker 1: I hope your biggest takeaway is I want her to
- 23:23Speaker 1: be my closing attorney. I want her to be the
- 23:25Speaker 1: person that shows me to my next home in the
- 23:27Speaker 1: city of Atlanta or the state of Georgia. Because relationships,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you want somebody who sells you your home to go
- 23:35Speaker 1: into a room with the closing determine that they know.
- 23:39Speaker 1: That is very key because of the fact that if
- 23:42Speaker 1: you're going and and I have been in the something
- 23:45Speaker 1: in Texas and bought homes and Texas a bout homes
- 23:47Speaker 1: and Houston and Georgia as well, and I've been in
- 23:51Speaker 1: the room where you know that person sitting across who's
- 23:53Speaker 1: through the title attorney because they have these big companies around.
- 23:56Speaker 1: If you walk around there, like it's like two or
- 23:58Speaker 1: three companies just dominate all the I will sign it,
- 24:00Speaker 1: you know, and they're just strange, the like H and
- 24:03Speaker 1: R block of titles. Can you should and they don't
- 24:05Speaker 1: even know who you are and they're just gonna push
- 24:07Speaker 1: the paper around you. I really appreciate the relationship that
- 24:10Speaker 1: you have and you that you bring it into a family.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I call it a family. Do you do you agree
- 24:15Speaker 1: with what I'm saying, Tiffany, Um, Yes, So it's kind
- 24:19Speaker 1: of the same here. A lot of people look at
- 24:22Speaker 1: this as a process that the business transaction. I've worked
- 24:25Speaker 1: for several um different attorneys where it was it was
- 24:28Speaker 1: just the meal, like we get people and we get
- 24:31Speaker 1: them out. I kind of even though we do the
- 24:34Speaker 1: same thing here, I've kind of slowed it down a
- 24:37Speaker 1: little bit. I implemented closings where we actually celebrate the
- 24:41Speaker 1: buyer and the seller. So we'll have champagne here, we
- 24:45Speaker 1: will have parties, sometimes we will have just different celebrations
- 24:49Speaker 1: to let the buyer know, like, you made it this far,
- 24:52Speaker 1: this is a celebration. This is not just a business transaction.
- 24:55Speaker 1: We take um pictures of the buyers when they're here,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and we have a key chain where we document their
- 25:04Speaker 1: closing and we give that to them as a gift.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It's a personal, small gesture, but it lets them know
- 25:11Speaker 1: that you're not just another person walking in here. We
- 25:14Speaker 1: appreciate you, we are excited for you, and we are
- 25:17Speaker 1: going to celebrate you at the Halls Law Firm. So, yeah,
- 25:21Speaker 1: you do have these big title companies where it's just business. Well,
- 25:25Speaker 1: here it's not just business. You become a part of
- 25:27Speaker 1: our family and we celebrate your family, and you're closing
- 25:31Speaker 1: on your home. Well, you know, I want to close interview.
- 25:34Speaker 1: But just switching over to Tiana Harrison, I said, earlier
- 25:37Speaker 1: in your academic career, you spend time at Tennessee State University.
- 25:42Speaker 1: We all know now you graduated from Georgia and Athens
- 25:45Speaker 1: bulldog National champion. But we also know that the publicity
- 25:49Speaker 1: UH and the HBC s you are getting, HBC schools
- 25:53Speaker 1: are getting factor also we can at an HBCU game
- 25:56Speaker 1: and so when you look at that, what do your
- 25:58Speaker 1: what do is your take on the surge of information
- 26:02Speaker 1: is being distributed and being promoted by HBCUs. I think
- 26:07Speaker 1: that it is amazing that they're getting this publicity. UM
- 26:11Speaker 1: for HBC USE because I think it's a long time coming. UM.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I am a My mother attended an HBCU. She attended
- 26:20Speaker 1: Tennessee State University. UM my cousins are I mean down
- 26:25Speaker 1: the line. My cousin is Wilma Rudolph, who is an Olympian. UM,
- 26:32Speaker 1: a famous olympian who attended Tennessee State University. And so
- 26:36Speaker 1: as far as HBCU, HBC use and the attention that
- 26:41Speaker 1: they're garnering. I think that it's just a long time coming,
- 26:44Speaker 1: and I am excited to see what the future holds
- 26:49Speaker 1: because of what has existed within the you know, collegiate
- 26:54Speaker 1: realm of athletes that have gone to predominantly white universities,
- 26:59Speaker 1: and now there's a switch up, and at a certain
- 27:02Speaker 1: point in time, there must always be a pivot and
- 27:05Speaker 1: a switch up. And we're gonna see what happens next.
- 27:09Speaker 1: That's awesome, as I want to thank both of you
- 27:11Speaker 1: guys who are coming to your ladies give me that pass.
- 27:13Speaker 1: We're saying, guys, ladies who list Atlanta, Tiffany Halls and
- 27:16Speaker 1: Tiana Harrison is on the own network. They're fantastic. I
- 27:20Speaker 1: know we're talked more about them than this show, but
- 27:22Speaker 1: they are the show. There are two of the fantastic
- 27:25Speaker 1: stars of the show's Ladies who List Atlanta, please come
- 27:29Speaker 1: back on my show. I really appreciated the time and
- 27:31Speaker 1: the energy, and y'all good talkers too. I love that again,
- 27:37Speaker 1: if you want to listen to you, we appreciate your
- 27:39Speaker 1: reside because you know when we when the two of
- 27:42Speaker 1: us get together, we will be here all days. That's
- 27:45Speaker 1: why NORMALNA bring y'all back, y'all. I love talking to y'all.
- 27:48Speaker 1: If you listen to any of my interviews, uh see
