Moss Point School District proposes tax increase
Officials with the Moss Point School District are asking city leaders to propose an ad valorem tax increase. According to WLOX, the unfunded mandate for teacher pay raises will cost the district $1.3 million. That increase, combined with a projected loss in state funding and a shrinking student population are behind the proposal.
