- 0:00Speaker 1: There are two big stories right now, one that the
- 0:03Speaker 1: media is trying to downplay and the other that the
- 0:05Speaker 1: media has become obsessed with over the last twenty four hours.
- 0:09Speaker 1: The headlines say it all. NBC News Mike Pence, former VP,
- 0:13Speaker 1: subpoenaed by special counsel investigating Trump's role in January the
- 0:17Speaker 1: six is what one headline reads. And then there's another headline,
- 0:23Speaker 1: this one from Bloomberg House. Republicans hunter Biden pro begins
- 0:28Speaker 1: with a thud, seeing it doesn't matter what actually happens
- 0:32Speaker 1: in these committee hearings because they've already written the headlines,
- 0:36Speaker 1: knowing how to do it from a pr perspective. Now,
- 0:39Speaker 1: let's start with the significance, or maybe the insignificance, of
- 0:43Speaker 1: Mike Pence being subpoenaed by the special counsel investigating January
- 0:47Speaker 1: the six. Here's how the CBS actually NBC Nightly News
- 0:51Speaker 1: led with a story. There are some breaking news right
- 0:54Speaker 1: now involving former Vice President Mike Pennce, a source familiar
- 0:58Speaker 1: with the matter telling NBC News Pence has been subpoenaed
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Special Council overseeing the investigation into former President Trump.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's unclear what information the special counsel may be seeking.
- 1:11Speaker 1: By the way, let's be clear about how this is
- 1:13Speaker 1: normal and not just a you know, oh my gosh,
- 1:16Speaker 1: breaking news story that NBC and the others in the
- 1:19Speaker 1: media are trying to turn this into with Waldo Wall
- 1:21Speaker 1: coverage on MSNBC and CNN over the intel that you
- 1:25Speaker 1: were just given. Vice President Mike Pence was at the
- 1:29Speaker 1: Capitol in January six. Vis Prince had to go into safety,
- 1:32Speaker 1: into basically hiding. Mike Pence had to be taken to
- 1:35Speaker 1: a secure location within the Capitol. If you have a
- 1:39Speaker 1: special Council that's looking into this, there's no reasonably that
- 1:42Speaker 1: Mike Pence wouldn't be called to testify because he was
- 1:45Speaker 1: actually there at the Capitol in January the six This
- 1:48Speaker 1: would be a very normal course of business. Is this
- 1:52Speaker 1: Waldo Wall breaking news worthy or oh my gosh, Donald
- 1:55Speaker 1: Trump's going to get and dieted and going down. No,
- 1:58Speaker 1: But if you listen to news, that's exactly what they're
- 2:00Speaker 1: doing with this intel their headline. Former Vice President Mike
- 2:04Speaker 1: Pence has been subpoenaed by the Special Council investigation that
- 2:09Speaker 1: is investigating former Presidentald Trump's efforts to stay in office
- 2:12Speaker 1: after the twenty twenty election and his role in the
- 2:15Speaker 1: January six attack on the Capitol. According to a source
- 2:18Speaker 1: familiar with the matter, Special Council Jack Smith was appointed
- 2:21Speaker 1: in November by Attorney General Garland to lead the Justice
- 2:24Speaker 1: Department inquiries in a Trump's role in the riot, as
- 2:28Speaker 1: well as the former president's handling of classified documents after
- 2:31Speaker 1: he left office that they seized in Marlago. The subpoena,
- 2:34Speaker 1: they say, is related directly to January sixth investigation. Spokesman
- 2:39Speaker 1: for Smith and Pence declined to comment on the matter.
- 2:42Speaker 1: ABC News first reported that Pence had been subpoena, and
- 2:46Speaker 1: in December, NBC News reported that Smith at subpoena local
- 2:49Speaker 1: officials in key presidential swing states for quote any and
- 2:54Speaker 1: all communications involving Trump his campaign in a series of
- 2:58Speaker 1: aids and allies who assisted his effort to overturn the
- 3:02Speaker 1: twenty twenty election results. The move was an indication that
- 3:08Speaker 1: Smith is probing into a scheme involving fake electors, a
- 3:12Speaker 1: slate of individuals who signed documents purported that they were
- 3:15Speaker 1: the state's rightful electors and falsely asserted Trump was the
- 3:19Speaker 1: victor in those states. The House committee formed to investigate
- 3:23Speaker 1: the attack on the Capitol also gathered evidence that the
- 3:27Speaker 1: fake electors submitted false certifications of Trump victories to the
- 3:31Speaker 1: National Archives in hopes of having Pence substitute them for
- 3:37Speaker 1: the actual electoral votes that made Joe Biden the president.
- 3:40Speaker 1: The January sixth committee to vote an entire hearing depends
- 3:43Speaker 1: his role on that day and the intense public and
- 3:46Speaker 1: private pressure that Donald Trump applied depends to get his
- 3:50Speaker 1: vice president to interfere with the election count the electoral count. Pence,
- 3:55Speaker 1: as then vice president of the Senate, presided over Congress's
- 3:58Speaker 1: certification of the twenty election results, but that role was
- 4:02Speaker 1: strictly ceremonial, with no power to intervene in the counting
- 4:05Speaker 1: of electoral votes. Still, Trump sought to apply pressure on
- 4:10Speaker 1: his vice president, even after pence aids as well as
- 4:13Speaker 1: Trump's said it would be illegal for the then vice
- 4:16Speaker 1: president to interfere in the count that according to testimony
- 4:20Speaker 1: before the January sixth Committee, which remembered, there weren't any
- 4:22Speaker 1: real Republicans on that committee because Nancy Pelosi wouldn't allow
- 4:26Speaker 1: us to be on the committee. In other words, it
- 4:28Speaker 1: was a kangaroo court. Now, the Wall Street Journal in
- 4:31Speaker 1: their opinion articles said Pence described telling that to Trump
- 4:35Speaker 1: himself during an Oval office meeting with his lawyer John Eastman,
- 4:39Speaker 1: one of the architects of a memo that outlined a
- 4:42Speaker 1: scenario in which Pence could refuse to certify the electoral
- 4:44Speaker 1: College count. After Eastman described his plans as mere theory,
- 4:48Speaker 1: Pence wrote that he turned to Trump and said, mister President,
- 4:51Speaker 1: did you hear that even your lawyer doesn't think I
- 4:54Speaker 1: have the authority to return electoral votes. Pence, who ultimately
- 4:58Speaker 1: performed his ceremonial duty in the aftermath of the violence,
- 5:02Speaker 1: has said he's proud of what he did on January sixth,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and has declared there's almost no idea more Unamerican than
- 5:11Speaker 1: the notion this is exact words that any one person
- 5:14Speaker 1: could choose the American president. When asked by NBC News
- 5:17Speaker 1: Meet the Press in November if he believes Trump committed
- 5:20Speaker 1: a crime, Pence said, well, I don't know if it
- 5:23Speaker 1: is criminal to listen about advice from lawyers. The truth
- 5:26Speaker 1: is what the president was repeating is what he was
- 5:29Speaker 1: hearing from the gaggle of attorneys around him. Pence went
- 5:32Speaker 1: on to say, presidents just like all of us have served,
- 5:37Speaker 1: who all of us that have served in public life.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You have to rely on your team, you have to
- 5:41Speaker 1: rely on the credibility of the people around you. And
- 5:44Speaker 1: so as time goes on, I hope we can move
- 5:46Speaker 1: beyond this, Pence said, beyond that prospect and this really
- 5:50Speaker 1: and this is really a time when our country ought
- 5:53Speaker 1: to be healing, quote unquote the former vice president who
- 5:57Speaker 1: has hinted that he is considering a run for president.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And there's no way to understate this. He's not hitting
- 6:04Speaker 1: at it, he's wanting to do it. He's seeing if
- 6:06Speaker 1: there's a pathway for a Pence twenty twenty four presidential campaign,
- 6:10Speaker 1: which means he would literally be running against his former boss,
- 6:14Speaker 1: the former president United States of America, Donald Trump, who's
- 6:16Speaker 1: already declared. So are there politics involved in how Pence
- 6:21Speaker 1: responds to some of this? Of course there's gonna be.
- 6:24Speaker 1: We all know this. We also know that he has
- 6:29Speaker 1: criticized Donald Trump and his actions. On January the six,
- 6:34Speaker 1: as a mob of then president Trump supporters descended on
- 6:37Speaker 1: the Capitol. Okay, Trump tweeted that Pence didn't have the
- 6:41Speaker 1: courage to do what should have been done to protect
- 6:43Speaker 1: our country and our Constitution, promoting the chances that were
- 6:50Speaker 1: happening at the Capital of hang Mike Pence as writers
- 6:53Speaker 1: sought out the Vice president, who had been rushed to
- 6:55Speaker 1: a secure location. In November, Pence called Trump's January six
- 7:00Speaker 1: tweets about him reckless and said the remarks angered him,
- 7:02Speaker 1: quote unquote, I mean the presence words were reckless and
- 7:06Speaker 1: his actions were reckless, Pence said in an interview with
- 7:09Speaker 1: ABC's David Muir. He added, the presence words that day
- 7:12Speaker 1: at the rally endangered me and my family and everyone
- 7:15Speaker 1: at the Capitol building. So it's very clear here that
- 7:18Speaker 1: Mike Pence and the President are no longer going to
- 7:21Speaker 1: be type friends. In fact, I think it's fair to
- 7:24Speaker 1: say they're now political enemies over this. Now, the question
- 7:27Speaker 1: is is this really a big deal that Pence was
- 7:30Speaker 1: the poenot. The answer is no. Is Mike pence story
- 7:34Speaker 1: one that people are interested in, of course, But does
- 7:38Speaker 1: this spell doom and gloom for Donald Trump the way
- 7:42Speaker 1: the media is trying to imply it. It does not.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And that's part of the problem here with the media.
- 7:47Speaker 1: They always overstate things that deal with bad news, especially
- 7:52Speaker 1: if that bad news is specifically for Donald Trump and
- 7:57Speaker 1: the Special counsel Jack Smith, who's overseas this inquiry, knows that.
- 8:02Speaker 1: But he's just wanting to paint a picture. He's wanting
- 8:05Speaker 1: to paint a picture of Trump's efforts to cling to
- 8:08Speaker 1: power and try to say that Donald Trump was trying
- 8:11Speaker 1: to overthrow the will of the people and that this
- 8:13Speaker 1: was a in essence, coup attempt by Donald Trump and
- 8:17Speaker 1: those on January the sixth, That is the narrative. Now,
- 8:21Speaker 1: if I was Mike Pence on January the sixth, full disclosure,
- 8:25Speaker 1: would I be mad as hell what Donald Trump did
- 8:28Speaker 1: that day? Yes, I would be. Would I have an
- 8:31Speaker 1: act to grind with a former president? Absolutely, But the
- 8:34Speaker 1: reporting should be reporting it that way. I mean, you've
- 8:38Speaker 1: got to be You've got to be pissed. Okay, if
- 8:41Speaker 1: you're Mike Pence on January the six You're in a
- 8:44Speaker 1: secure location, you're having to be rushed from the Senate floor,
- 8:48Speaker 1: You've got your family with you, You're doing your constitutional duty,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and then this is happening around you, I'd belived if
- 8:55Speaker 1: I was him, Okay, I would be. I'd be furious.
- 8:59Speaker 1: But also to be clear, the article should talk about
- 9:03Speaker 1: that they're not and why are they not. They're not
- 9:07Speaker 1: doing it because they don't want to tell you the truth.
- 9:10Speaker 1: They want to turn this into a massive story. Now,
- 9:12Speaker 1: while all this is happening, the media is also trying
- 9:15Speaker 1: to downplay the big breaking news on Hunter Biden and
- 9:19Speaker 1: Joe Biden and Bloomberg. Again, this is propaganda. I want
- 9:25Speaker 1: you to be I want to be clear about that.
- 9:26Speaker 1: This is propaganda. This headline House Republicans Hunter Biden pro
- 9:30Speaker 1: begins with a thud. That's a lie, But that's their headline.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Bloomberg has a narrative they want to push, and that
- 9:37Speaker 1: is that the House Republicans and Day One failed to
- 9:41Speaker 1: open their investigation into the finances of Joe Biden's family
- 9:45Speaker 1: to produce evidence of sending their claims that US intelligence
- 9:48Speaker 1: officials worked with Twitter to suppress an unflattering twenty news
- 9:54Speaker 1: story on the president's son. Former Twitter Inc. Officials testified
- 9:58Speaker 1: Wednesday that their decision limit the spread of the New
- 10:00Speaker 1: York Post story about Hunter Biden's now infamous laptop and
- 10:04Speaker 1: as overseas business dealings was, in hindsight, a mistake. They
- 10:07Speaker 1: said that before Congress, but they said they weren't directed
- 10:11Speaker 1: by the FBI or other intelligence officials, and the action
- 10:15Speaker 1: wasn't politically motivated. So there you have it, because these
- 10:19Speaker 1: Twitter officials are lying about why they did what they did.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Now the media is saying, oh, say, there's no there there.
- 10:25Speaker 1: They did this on their own. They were just stupid.
- 10:27Speaker 1: They got bamboozled. But this wasn't directed by the FBI.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Okay that this whole entire article from Bloomberg is nothing
- 10:36Speaker 1: but state sponsored propaganda, and it's disgusting. Here's why we
- 10:43Speaker 1: know it is state sponsored propaganda. That is disgusting. They
- 10:51Speaker 1: were having regular meetings with the FBI. The FBI came
- 10:56Speaker 1: in to Twitter days before this story was released and
- 11:03Speaker 1: warned them of a major story that could be breaking
- 11:07Speaker 1: involving Russia's potential interference in our election. They gave them
- 11:13Speaker 1: a heads up, heads up, something big may break and
- 11:17Speaker 1: if it does break, which means they knew the story
- 11:19Speaker 1: was coming out from the New York Post, be ready
- 11:22Speaker 1: and don't get bamboozled. Whatever you do, just don't get bamboozled. Okay,
- 11:30Speaker 1: that's what they're saying. And then they say, and this
- 11:33Speaker 1: article says, oh, well, they you know there was no
- 11:35Speaker 1: there there. They didn't actually warn them directly and that's true.
- 11:38Speaker 1: They didn't come in and say, hey, the New York
- 11:40Speaker 1: Post is going to publish this article and don't let
- 11:41Speaker 1: it go anywhere because Russian disinformation. They didn't do that.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Why why did the FBI not say that directly? I'll
- 11:47Speaker 1: tell exactly why. Because they knew the story was true.
- 11:51Speaker 1: They knew the laptop was real, they knew it was authentic,
- 11:54Speaker 1: and they had a copy of it, and they knew
- 11:55Speaker 1: from whistleblowers that it was authentic, and they knew because
- 11:59Speaker 1: of all their information data that this was all actually real.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So they couldn't walk into Twitter and say directly, hey,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you're about to get to be a story about Hunter Biden,
- 12:08Speaker 1: and the media has been bambooso by this story, and
- 12:09Speaker 1: there's gonna be a fake laptop story and it's really fake.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It's not a real laptop and it's not Hunter Biden's.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They couldn't say that, So instead, what do the FBI do?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Because they're smart, Hey guys, there's going to be a
- 12:21Speaker 1: Russian disinformation article. Right, there's gonna be a Russian disinformation
- 12:27Speaker 1: story that comes out that may break before the election day,
- 12:30Speaker 1: Right may break, just might it might break, And if
- 12:34Speaker 1: it does break, you guys, don't get bambooso by it.
- 12:39Speaker 1: That's what they're saying. That's what this is. Be very
- 12:42Speaker 1: clear about. That's what this is. Now, there's another aspect
- 12:46Speaker 1: of the story that we need to talk about, okay,
- 12:49Speaker 1: And the aspect of the story is the fact that
- 12:53Speaker 1: the media now is saying, we have to protect the
- 12:56Speaker 1: presidency at all costs. We've got to separate this out.
- 12:59Speaker 1: We've got to act like every time there's a big
- 13:02Speaker 1: moment in these hearings that we already knew this like
- 13:05Speaker 1: this is old news. And that's what they're trying to
- 13:07Speaker 1: do here. They're trying to imply that it's all old news.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Every part of its old news. Every bit of this
- 13:11Speaker 1: is old news. None of this is new, none of
- 13:13Speaker 1: this is earth shattering. This is just straight up normal.
- 13:17Speaker 1: That's what they're trying to say here. Okay, that's that's
- 13:20Speaker 1: what this is. And they're doing a hell of a job.
- 13:25Speaker 1: They're doing one hell of a job pulling this off.
- 13:29Speaker 1: You write these headlines this way, House Republican hunter Biden
- 13:33Speaker 1: pro begins with a thud, that's how they described It's
- 13:37Speaker 1: nothing here, right, There's there's there's no there there. Right,
- 13:41Speaker 1: This is a thud. This is they're already this thing's
- 13:43Speaker 1: already unraveling. It started the first day of the hearing,
- 13:46Speaker 1: and they're already saying it's over. Many of the documents
- 13:50Speaker 1: republican display. They go on to say it the House
- 13:52Speaker 1: Oversight Hearing. We're from so called Twitter files. Well they're
- 13:55Speaker 1: not so called Twitter files. They are the Twitter files.
- 13:57Speaker 1: They're released by Twitter. Since Elon Musk is them, so
- 14:00Speaker 1: why would you undermine them by calling them so called?
- 14:02Speaker 1: Because again this is propaganda. A series of reports shared
- 14:06Speaker 1: by journalists who were involved were invited by Elon Must
- 14:09Speaker 1: to Elon Must to examine Twitter's handling of controversial decisions
- 14:13Speaker 1: made under the company's previous leaders. The first installment of
- 14:17Speaker 1: the Twitter Files focused on the company's treatment of the
- 14:19Speaker 1: New York Post story. Must gave the journalists access to
- 14:22Speaker 1: company emails and Slack messages, and many of those messages
- 14:24Speaker 1: were then published on Twitter. Most of the reports suggests,
- 14:27Speaker 1: without evidence, that Twitter made decisions based on demands and
- 14:30Speaker 1: pressures from the FBI and the Biden campaign. Okay, there
- 14:34Speaker 1: is evidence the entire Twitter files, if you go back,
- 14:36Speaker 1: show the evidence that they were meeting with the FBI
- 14:39Speaker 1: and they were getting direct emails from staffers and people
- 14:41Speaker 1: on the Biden campaign. It's not indirect. There's there's no
- 14:47Speaker 1: claims of this without evidence. The Twitter files, in fact,
- 14:50Speaker 1: was the evidence to back it up. House Judiciary Committee
- 14:54Speaker 1: Chairman Jim Jordan said, I think you guys wanted to
- 14:56Speaker 1: take it down, referring to the Hunter Biden story. Why
- 15:02Speaker 1: because they wanted to make sure that he became president.
- 15:06Speaker 1: That's why I think you guys got played by the FBI.
- 15:11Speaker 1: That is the words of Jim Jordan. He's right, Republicans.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Bloomberg goes on to write repeatedly asked witnesses to recall
- 15:19Speaker 1: years old emails and applying it. That's like unrealistic, the
- 15:23Speaker 1: contents of which the foremer employee said they no longer
- 15:25Speaker 1: have access to and do not recall the details. Well,
- 15:28Speaker 1: that's convenient, isn't it. At one point, the power in
- 15:31Speaker 1: the room went out and the peniel had a recess,
- 15:33Speaker 1: stretching the hearing into the afternoon. James Baker, a former
- 15:37Speaker 1: lawyer for Twitter who previously worked for the FBI at
- 15:39Speaker 1: a top high level, so he didn't act as an
- 15:42Speaker 1: agent or an operator of the government while working for
- 15:45Speaker 1: the social media company. Baker said the company's actions were
- 15:48Speaker 1: fully consistent with the First Amendment. That's also a lie.
- 15:50Speaker 1: They were silencing members of Congress who put out things
- 15:54Speaker 1: they didn't like. Some of the information actually came from
- 15:56Speaker 1: the United States government's owned websites, and they didn't like it.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So these are just some of the things. I want
- 16:04Speaker 1: to be clear here. These are just some of the
- 16:07Speaker 1: things that happen. And they're gonna keep lying to you.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And the reason why they keep lying to you, I
- 16:11Speaker 1: think it's pretty clear they want to lie to you
- 16:15Speaker 1: because they wanted this story to go away. And this
- 16:17Speaker 1: is the only way to fight back on it. Okay,
- 16:21Speaker 1: Like this is it. This is the only way to
- 16:23Speaker 1: fight back. This is the only possible way to fight back.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And if you don't fight back this way, right, if
- 16:31Speaker 1: you don't really come back after them this way, you've
- 16:34Speaker 1: got a problem here. This story actually gains legs, and
- 16:39Speaker 1: this story actually goes somewhere. They therefore have to write
- 16:44Speaker 1: the headlines. And these headlines, I would argue, have been
- 16:48Speaker 1: written for months. They knew how they were going to
- 16:52Speaker 1: spend this when they started. They're gonna say, Okay, let's
- 16:54Speaker 1: tell everybody that opened with a thud. Let's tell everybody
- 16:58Speaker 1: it was a dud investigation from the very beginning. Let's
- 17:00Speaker 1: tell everybody that this was just a thud of a
- 17:03Speaker 1: moment here, that there was no there there. Let's undermine
- 17:08Speaker 1: it and say nothing news coming out of these hearings. Now,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I would argue this, there's not a lot new coming
- 17:16Speaker 1: out of these theories. We already have it all from
- 17:19Speaker 1: the Twitter files. Well, it's new from these hearings. That's
- 17:23Speaker 1: news worthy is the fact that you have former executives
- 17:27Speaker 1: at Twitter who are now being held accountable for their
- 17:30Speaker 1: words and their actions that have been now leaked. I
- 17:33Speaker 1: actually the same call it leaked have now been exposed
- 17:37Speaker 1: because of Elon must bravery to buy a company and
- 17:40Speaker 1: then expose how they did business. The Twitter files are
- 17:44Speaker 1: about exposing the corruption of big tech, and these types
- 17:47Speaker 1: of conversations that they were having at Twitter, I have
- 17:50Speaker 1: no doubt, are the same exact type of conversations that
- 17:53Speaker 1: are happening at Google and Facebook and YouTube. There's somebody
- 17:57Speaker 1: they don't like, something they don't like. What do you do?
- 17:59Speaker 1: You just violence it and shut it down forever. That's
- 18:02Speaker 1: how you roll here. That's what you do, all right?
- 18:05Speaker 1: Let me just take a quick pause here, and I
- 18:07Speaker 1: do want to tell you about our friends at August
- 18:09Speaker 1: of Precious Medals. If you've been saving for a long
- 18:12Speaker 1: time for retirement, you know that you need to protect
- 18:16Speaker 1: your money and one way to do that is with
- 18:18Speaker 1: a gold ira. I'm excited about telling you about a
- 18:21Speaker 1: company that I actually use. I have actually worked with
- 18:25Speaker 1: a Gust of Precious Medals. They are different because they
- 18:28Speaker 1: will even tell you if a gold ira isn't your answer,
- 18:32Speaker 1: they give you just the facts. Now, a Gust of
- 18:34Speaker 1: Precious Metal is all about protecting your ira and your
- 18:38Speaker 1: four oh one k. They're great people a great conservative company.
- 18:44Speaker 1: They're great people at a great conservative company. They understand

- 19:45Speaker 1: topic apparently of conversation only if you're the president on Telemundo,
- 19:51Speaker 1: you do a big interview with Telemundo. That's where you
- 19:55Speaker 1: go to do this. Join me now to talk about
- 19:56Speaker 1: this as us centator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee Center always
- 20:00Speaker 1: nice to chat with you. If you want to know
- 20:03Speaker 1: how much this White House doesn't want to talk about
- 20:05Speaker 1: the Chinese spy balloon, you just got to look at
- 20:08Speaker 1: the exclusive interview they gave to Telemundo so they could
- 20:10Speaker 1: talk about the Chinese spy balloon, so no one would
- 20:13Speaker 1: actually hear what the president has a say in case
- 20:14Speaker 1: there was a tough question, and this is what Joe
- 20:18Speaker 1: Biden had to say, and I want to get your
- 20:19Speaker 1: reaction to it. Now that we know what we know,
- 20:22Speaker 1: that the balloon had in tennis and communication system. Do
- 20:27Speaker 1: you regret not having insisted on bringing it down? Swoner? No,
- 20:32Speaker 1: I think the expert, the intelligence community, defense community, they've
- 20:36Speaker 1: forgotten more about it than you or I know. I said,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I wanted to shot down as soon as possible, and
- 20:40Speaker 1: they were worried about the damage. You can be done.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Even in a big state like Montana. This thing was gigantic.
- 20:47Speaker 1: What happened if it came down to hit a school
- 20:49Speaker 1: in the rural area. What happened it came down? So
- 20:51Speaker 1: I told him as soon as they could shoot it down,
- 20:53Speaker 1: shoot it down. They made a wide decision. They shot
- 20:56Speaker 1: it down over water and recovery most of the parts,
- 20:58Speaker 1: and they're good. Wasn't it a major breed security bridge
- 21:03Speaker 1: for the United States? Just the fact that the balloon
- 21:06Speaker 1: came into the airspace through over the country for so
- 21:09Speaker 1: many days. Oh, Look, the total amount of intelligence gathering
- 21:15Speaker 1: is going on where every country around the world is overwhelming.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And the idea that a balloon could traverse break American
- 21:24Speaker 1: airspace is anyway, It's not a measuring breed. It's not
- 21:32Speaker 1: a major breage. Senator. I was shocked to see him,
- 21:35Speaker 1: not only loses train of thought on such an important issue,
- 21:38Speaker 1: but also to imply that it's just not a big
- 21:40Speaker 1: deal that this balloon came over the United States of
- 21:42Speaker 1: American or most ins the military bases and where we
- 21:45Speaker 1: keep our most important defensive weaponry. Your thoughts. It was
- 21:51Speaker 1: astounding to us that they didn't bring this forward. There
- 21:57Speaker 1: was no briefing to Congress. Our first briefing on this
- 22:00Speaker 1: was yesterday, And it's like they had to get their
- 22:03Speaker 1: story straight, their act together before they gave us a
- 22:07Speaker 1: classified briefing. And then you have to think about it
- 22:12Speaker 1: like this. They could see this then coming. It was
- 22:15Speaker 1: over the Illusion is Love. They could have shot it
- 22:18Speaker 1: down there after it was into our space and over Alaska,
- 22:22Speaker 1: or they could have done probably what would have been
- 22:25Speaker 1: the smarter thing, attached some balloons to it so that
- 22:30Speaker 1: they could walk the payload down and see what was
- 22:33Speaker 1: in it and get rid of that balloon that was
- 22:38Speaker 1: hoisting it. But see, nobody knew what was in that balloon,
- 22:43Speaker 1: and nobody knew exactly what was in the payload, so
- 22:47Speaker 1: it would have made sense to take care of it
- 22:50Speaker 1: on the front end rather than waiting until it has
- 22:55Speaker 1: traits across the whole country, gathering information and collecting signals,
- 23:02Speaker 1: collecting data, surveilling, and then they say, oh yeah, let's
- 23:09Speaker 1: go ahead and let's shoot it down. There still hasn't
- 23:13Speaker 1: been a warning to China from this administration, and I
- 23:16Speaker 1: think this is notable to never do this again. China,
- 23:20Speaker 1: by the way, has warned us, how dare you shoot
- 23:22Speaker 1: down our balloon that incurred that went into your airspace
- 23:25Speaker 1: over your country, and we hold the right to respond
- 23:29Speaker 1: with some sort of force. Yet they're warning us, and
- 23:34Speaker 1: our presence still hasn't directly said to the Chinese, Hey,
- 23:38Speaker 1: you better not do that. Pull this blank again, because
- 23:41Speaker 1: if you do, there will be real consequences. No one's
- 23:43Speaker 1: mentioned sanctions, no one's mentioned anything as a response, a
- 23:48Speaker 1: diplomatic response to China for doing this. Well, you're right
- 23:53Speaker 1: about that. And the Biden administration is fearful of the
- 23:59Speaker 1: China Communist Party. They're afraid of them. They maybe maybe
- 24:07Speaker 1: they're beholden to them. Maybe Hunter is still doing business
- 24:12Speaker 1: with them, Maybe Biden Incorporated is still doing business with them.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Maybe the Biden administration is fearful of what I call
- 24:23Speaker 1: the new axis of evil, Russia, China run North Korea.
- 24:28Speaker 1: So maybe they're turned to tiptoe around them and not
- 24:32Speaker 1: pick them off. But I will tell you this, the
- 24:37Speaker 1: Chinese Communist Party would never have done something like this.
- 24:41Speaker 1: With President Donald Trump and Secretary of State like Pompeo,
- 24:46Speaker 1: they would never have tried something like this. The Iranians
- 24:51Speaker 1: are now making drones in Russia. You know, they've given
- 24:55Speaker 1: Russia six thousand drones to use in the fight against Ukraine.
- 25:02Speaker 1: They would never have done that With a President Donald
- 25:06Speaker 1: Trump and a Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. They would
- 25:10Speaker 1: have not tried to get a restart on the run
- 25:13Speaker 1: nuclear deal because they knew there were things that were
- 25:17Speaker 1: off the table. North Korea has been sending rockets to
- 25:22Speaker 1: Russia to fight the Ukrainians. They would never have thought
- 25:26Speaker 1: about doing that under President Donald Trump. In China, of course,
- 25:31Speaker 1: is buying Russia's oil, They are banking them, They're sending
- 25:35Speaker 1: them navigation equipment because they know this administration is not
- 25:42Speaker 1: going to hold them to account. Well, let's talk about
- 25:46Speaker 1: and I know you can't tell us what was said
- 25:48Speaker 1: in the classified briefing, but I want to talk about
- 25:51Speaker 1: one aspect of this. I feel like that if it
- 25:55Speaker 1: wouldn't have been literally for American citizens who spotted this
- 25:58Speaker 1: down balloon that this administration, if they could have, would
- 26:03Speaker 1: have never told anyone, including you and your colleagues in
- 26:07Speaker 1: the Senate, that this balloon went across the United States
- 26:11Speaker 1: of America. They were forced to disclose this. How concerned
- 26:14Speaker 1: are you now, excuse me, how concerned are you now
- 26:19Speaker 1: that they are not disclosing important information just like this
- 26:24Speaker 1: balloon to Congress knowing that this was again, you guys
- 26:29Speaker 1: got your first briefing yesterday. That's correct. And see you're
- 26:33Speaker 1: exactly right. There was a pilot who had a great
- 26:39Speaker 1: camera lens because he also was a reporter and he
- 26:43Speaker 1: was watching this. So with that high depth lens, he
- 26:46Speaker 1: takes that picture, he puts it up on their site,
- 26:51Speaker 1: their website, and says, hey, has anybody, is anybody else
- 26:56Speaker 1: watching this? Anybody know anything about it? And that is
- 27:00Speaker 1: the only reason that this administration had to step forward
- 27:05Speaker 1: and talk about it. It's the only reason we know
- 27:08Speaker 1: about it because we've got a citizen who saw something
- 27:12Speaker 1: and said this is not right. Let's see what other
- 27:16Speaker 1: people know about this, and he put it out there.
- 27:20Speaker 1: So then you had the administration say this is what
- 27:26Speaker 1: we have. What we know and we're watching it and
- 27:29Speaker 1: it's nothing dangerous. The Chinese say it's a weather balloon.
- 27:35Speaker 1: And then because of the American people finding out about
- 27:39Speaker 1: this and just being incensed with the actions of this
- 27:44Speaker 1: administration regarding the balloon, then Anthony Blincoln, the current Secretary
- 27:51Speaker 1: of State who nobody is afraid of, decided he would
- 27:56Speaker 1: cancel his trip to Beijing. Then he reaches out to
- 28:01Speaker 1: his counterpart in China to see if they can talk
- 28:04Speaker 1: about this, and three days later, the Chinese Communist Party
- 28:08Speaker 1: gets back to b Lincoln and says, we will not
- 28:13Speaker 1: take your call. So BAA is not going to do anything.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Joe Biden is weak. They know it. Joe Biden, I
- 28:25Speaker 1: don't think a president ever said let's shoot down that balloon.
- 28:29Speaker 1: If he had given that order, the Pentagon would have
- 28:32Speaker 1: had to carry out that order. So I don't know
- 28:37Speaker 1: many people that think he gave that order. And I've
- 28:39Speaker 1: talked to a lot i've retired military over the past
- 28:43Speaker 1: couple of days, and they seem to think if he
- 28:47Speaker 1: had given that order, that balloon would have been shot
- 28:49Speaker 1: down wherever it was. Last question on this, and then
- 28:53Speaker 1: I want to move to budgets and spinning cuts that
- 28:56Speaker 1: you're helping proposed right now. But when you when you
- 28:59Speaker 1: look at the intel Democrats are now coming out saying
- 29:03Speaker 1: this balloon and what it gathered was not a threat
- 29:06Speaker 1: to national security and really isn't that big of a deal,
- 29:09Speaker 1: implying that this was more of like just kind of
- 29:11Speaker 1: the same thing they could quote do from their satellites.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I believe China never does anything by accident. I believe
- 29:17Speaker 1: they were clearly trying to gather until they couldn't gather
- 29:19Speaker 1: from satellites. You've been briefed on this. Do you believe
- 29:23Speaker 1: that this was not that big of an intelligence gathering mission?
- 29:27Speaker 1: Or was this a very successful mission? And the administration
- 29:30Speaker 1: is just misleading the American people on that. I am
- 29:34Speaker 1: very concerned that the administration is misleading the American people
- 29:39Speaker 1: on that. There's a couple of points that are vitally
- 29:43Speaker 1: important here. Number one, getting within sixty thousand feet is
- 29:50Speaker 1: to the point that they could surveil. They were going
- 29:53Speaker 1: over They stayed over Montana, Idaho, Dakota's places where we
- 30:00Speaker 1: have some of our ICBMs, the silos, things of that nature,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and we know that they are trying to assess our
- 30:12Speaker 1: nuclear capacity. So it's North Korea who is one of
- 30:17Speaker 1: their cohorts and the axis of evil, so that is
- 30:22Speaker 1: of concern. And then they just seem to kind of
- 30:26Speaker 1: make their way across military post across the country. And
- 30:30Speaker 1: when we look at our military post and our critical infrastructure,
- 30:37Speaker 1: we've been fighting to keep the Chinese Communist Party from
- 30:41Speaker 1: buying farms and land near our military posts. Why were
- 30:46Speaker 1: they wanting to do that so they could surveil our
- 30:50Speaker 1: military posts. So you know, then we've got to take
- 30:53Speaker 1: that into accountant. By the way, my amendment that would
- 30:59Speaker 1: have prohibit themcrat the Chinese Communist Party from buying our
- 31:05Speaker 1: US farmland, every one of those Democrats voted against it,
- 31:12Speaker 1: every one of them. So therefore it therefore it And
- 31:17Speaker 1: so they're all dancing around trying to figure out how
- 31:21Speaker 1: they're not going to tell us what's really happening with
- 31:24Speaker 1: the spy balloon. Now, the other thing that is important
- 31:29Speaker 1: about this is if they had taken that balloon down
- 31:34Speaker 1: early on, and as I said, they could have attached
- 31:39Speaker 1: other balloons to that payload, imploded the balloon that was
- 31:44Speaker 1: supporting the payload, and very carefully walked that payload down.
- 31:53Speaker 1: They chose not to do that. This is a sign
- 31:57Speaker 1: of weakness. They invaded our airspace, they have invaded our
- 32:05Speaker 1: sovereign territory. We have a president who did nothing. They
- 32:09Speaker 1: are testing him. He is failing the test. Lastly, something
- 32:15Speaker 1: else very important you're working on. You proposed across the
- 32:18Speaker 1: board spinning cuts some of the debt ceiling fight. Democrats
- 32:22Speaker 1: have been basically positioning themselves to say, well, there may
- 32:25Speaker 1: be a government shutdown of three Republicans don't agree with us,
- 32:28Speaker 1: and it will be their fault. Talk about the politics
- 32:31Speaker 1: of this and talk about actual spinning cuts. Because our deficit,
- 32:34Speaker 1: you and I've talked about this before, is clearly totally
- 32:37Speaker 1: out of control. Right, And what we have to realize
- 32:42Speaker 1: is that Joe Biden has increased our federal debt load
- 32:46Speaker 1: nearly five trillion dollars since he's been in office, five
- 32:51Speaker 1: trillion dollars. So that's where our debt is currently under
- 32:58Speaker 1: his administration. The total is over thirty one trillion dollars.
- 33:05Speaker 1: So the bills that I propose every year, you cut
- 33:08Speaker 1: either one percent, which is a penny out of a dollar,
- 33:13Speaker 1: two percent which is two pennies out of a dollar,
- 33:16Speaker 1: or a nickel which is a five percent cut, and
- 33:21Speaker 1: you do that across the board in all of your
- 33:25Speaker 1: discretionary spending. That forces these federal agencies to start to
- 33:31Speaker 1: work and make some spending reductions. Now, the President erroneously
- 33:38Speaker 1: says that Republicans are trying to cut Medicare and Social Security,
- 33:44Speaker 1: which is a lie. Republicans are not. Yeah, that was
- 33:49Speaker 1: one of the most That was one of the most
- 33:51Speaker 1: awkward moments when the Say of the Union where the
- 33:53Speaker 1: President try to accuse all the Republicans have when to
- 33:56Speaker 1: cut so security, the third rail in politics. And then
- 34:00Speaker 1: I was glad that you guys responded very loudly, made
- 34:03Speaker 1: it awkward. And then he had to met Okay, well,
- 34:05Speaker 1: maybe it's not all of you these says, Okay, well
- 34:07Speaker 1: maybe we agree on this. It was one of the
- 34:09Speaker 1: most awkward moments I've ever seen. The State of Union. Well,
- 34:14Speaker 1: it was very awkward because there's no Republican that has
- 34:18Speaker 1: done that. There's no one that has said cut some
- 34:20Speaker 1: benefits to Medicare and Social Security recipients. Nobody, and so
- 34:26Speaker 1: this is another of those things that they're just making up.
- 34:30Speaker 1: But in order to right size this budget, what you
- 34:33Speaker 1: have to do is begin the process of cutting into
- 34:37Speaker 1: that baseline, so that because what the federal agencies do,
- 34:42Speaker 1: They say, Luke, you gave us one hundred dollars last year,
- 34:46Speaker 1: we're asking for one hundred and ten this year. And
- 34:50Speaker 1: when they get one hundred and five, what do they
- 34:52Speaker 1: all go out there and say? They say, you cut us,
- 34:57Speaker 1: And that is just not true. What we're saying is,
- 35:01Speaker 1: if you've got one hundred dollars last year, we're going
- 35:04Speaker 1: to give you ninety nine, or we're going to give
- 35:06Speaker 1: you ninety eight, or we're going to give you ninety five,
- 35:09Speaker 1: but you're not going to get a hundred and doing
- 35:13Speaker 1: those cuts. Having these agencies begin that process is in CORBA.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And you know, if it were up to me, every
- 35:21Speaker 1: agency would exercise zero based budgeting and go back to
- 35:25Speaker 1: dollar one and totally reassess their projects and programs and
- 35:32Speaker 1: inside of that be required to save that penny on
- 35:36Speaker 1: the dollar. Sander, I appreciate you coming on. Is always
