- 2:11Speaker 6: a radio show.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Man, oh man, old man.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Hey, you know today, I just want to say something
- 2:24Speaker 6: that I don't think I've ever shared this way before.
- 2:30Speaker 6: The The the title is very simple, and that is
- 2:37Speaker 6: it's been worth it to me, you know I I
- 2:43Speaker 6: just I just kept thinking that this morning, that it's
- 2:47Speaker 6: all been worth it to me. And what I mean
- 2:51Speaker 6: by that is this relationship that I have with my
- 2:55Speaker 6: heavenly father, it's been worth it to me. I can't
- 3:02Speaker 6: even tell you the value that it has had in
- 3:07Speaker 6: my life. I can't tell you how it's helped me
- 3:14Speaker 6: to understand not only my purpose, but to better understand
- 3:21Speaker 6: my past' that's critical, man, because I'm grateful for that
- 3:28Speaker 6: because so many people can't get beyond their past and
- 3:34Speaker 6: event a set of circumstances, some calamity that besaids them.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Maybe it's been grief something, but it ties so many
- 3:42Speaker 6: people up. It's been so worth it to me, it is, man,
- 3:50Speaker 6: it's it's been worth having someone to go to when
- 3:57Speaker 6: no one else was there. Do you understand what I'm saying?
- 4:04Speaker 6: It has It has given me a place to go
- 4:08Speaker 6: when no one else has been there. Oh, hey man,
- 4:14Speaker 6: we pulling for you. Hey man, hanging now, Hey man, keep.
- 4:18Speaker 7: Your head up.
- 4:19Speaker 1: All of that.
- 4:21Speaker 6: But I gotta tell you, man, you get yourself in
- 4:24Speaker 6: some circumstances and situations in this thing called life when
- 4:28Speaker 6: no one can help you but God, When the only
- 4:32Speaker 6: person that could possibly understand or know what you're feeling
- 4:36Speaker 6: is God. The only person that will sit there with
- 4:40Speaker 6: you through it all and understand everything about it has
- 4:45Speaker 6: been God. It's been worth it to me, man, It's
- 4:50Speaker 6: it's been worth it to me. It's been the biggest
- 4:55Speaker 6: improvement in my life. I mean, man, as I look
- 4:59Speaker 6: back over my life, man, forming a strong bond with
- 5:04Speaker 6: God has been the most beneficial thing to me, you know,
- 5:10Speaker 6: these things you read in your in your in writings
- 5:14Speaker 6: in the Bible or or or whatever you're reading. You know,
- 5:17Speaker 6: when you when you read scriptures and things of that nature.
- 5:21Speaker 6: It it's it's been around a long time. It holds
- 5:27Speaker 6: so much truth to it. I mean, man, it's like,
- 5:31Speaker 6: how could this have been written so long ago and
- 5:36Speaker 6: still pertained directly to today?
- 5:41Speaker 1: I mean that that's amazing. That is amazing to me that.
- 5:46Speaker 6: I mean, that has to be God at work to
- 5:49Speaker 6: have written something so complete, so dead on point that
- 5:57Speaker 6: if you read it today it means exactly what pertains
- 6:03Speaker 6: to today. That's amazing.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Man.
- 6:07Speaker 6: That's why my spiritual walk it's just worth it to me.
- 6:14Speaker 6: And I keep saying it's worth it, because if you're
- 6:16Speaker 6: sitting out there and you tripping like I was tripping, deciding, nah,
- 6:21Speaker 6: let me do it. I got a few more things
- 6:23Speaker 6: I want to do. Couple more girls I want to
- 6:25Speaker 6: holler at, couple more things I want to get into.
- 6:27Speaker 6: I got a cup more deals I want to do.
- 6:29Speaker 6: I got a little bit more dirt. I want to
- 6:30Speaker 6: roll up on me a little bit.
- 6:32Speaker 1: First.
- 6:32Speaker 6: For a while, man, I wish I had known, I
- 6:36Speaker 6: really wish I had understood exactly what forming a relationship
- 6:40Speaker 6: with God would do for me. It's been at worth
- 6:44Speaker 6: every person who out there who hate know me, that
- 6:49Speaker 6: don't even know me, it's because I have a relationship
- 6:53Speaker 6: with Him that I'm fine with that. I don't care
- 6:56Speaker 6: for it, but it ain't gonna stop me though, See,
- 7:00Speaker 6: because I know for a fact that haters make you greater.
- 7:05Speaker 6: I know for a fact that haters validate your mere existence.
- 7:11Speaker 6: I know for a fact that half of them is
- 7:15Speaker 6: out of envy and jealousy because of something you're doing
- 7:19Speaker 6: that they wish they could do or they won't credit for,
- 7:23Speaker 6: so they just nah, I ain't anything all that bam,
- 7:26Speaker 6: And now you just all over the place with people. Man,
- 7:29Speaker 6: I'm so grateful for this relationship that it has not
- 7:34Speaker 6: allowed outside influences that do not have my best interest
- 7:39Speaker 6: at heart to throw me off.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Course.
- 7:43Speaker 6: It has just been worth it. And if you're sitting
- 7:45Speaker 6: out there and you're wondering about the benefits of it,
- 7:50Speaker 6: I can't even tell you what it's like to know
- 7:54Speaker 6: that when bad things are happening to me, the calming
- 7:58Speaker 6: peace that I feel that I know that that's gonna
- 8:01Speaker 6: be all right too, that I know that this too
- 8:05Speaker 6: shall pass. That I know in my heart of hearts, man,
- 8:09Speaker 6: that there's got to be a reason for this. And
- 8:12Speaker 6: if I can just hang on in there, he gonna
- 8:14Speaker 6: unfold that from me and he gonna let me see it.
- 8:17Speaker 6: But the number one thing I always know is I'm
- 8:20Speaker 6: gonna survive this one too, that this too shall pass.
- 8:23Speaker 6: It has been worth it to me, man, to have
- 8:27Speaker 6: this thing called faith, which is the belief in things
- 8:30Speaker 6: that you cannot see, and to know man along the
- 8:34Speaker 6: way that, oh my goodness, man, even though I don't
- 8:37Speaker 6: know what's next, or even I'm not really sure about
- 8:41Speaker 6: the next step, I do know for a fact that
- 8:44Speaker 6: Samoa is coming. I do know for a fact. It
- 8:48Speaker 6: is a fact that God will take care of me.
- 8:52Speaker 6: It is a fact that he will never ever leave
- 8:56Speaker 6: me or desert me. If I just stay here where
- 8:59Speaker 6: I'm supposed to be. He's coming. The Calvary's coming over
- 9:04Speaker 6: the hill. He coming over the hill. And when he
- 9:05Speaker 6: come over that hill, he gonna wipe out all this
- 9:08Speaker 6: mess down here that's trying to hurt me. That I
- 9:12Speaker 6: don't have to worry about my enemies anymore, that my
- 9:15Speaker 6: enemies that are all around you can surround me. You
- 9:20Speaker 6: can shoot all the arrows you want. Now, it's not
- 9:23Speaker 6: to say that none of them ain't gonna come close.
- 9:26Speaker 6: And I ain't gonna say that, you know, I ain't
- 9:29Speaker 6: gonna be a little under some pressure, a little nervous
- 9:32Speaker 6: about being shot at so hard. But at the end
- 9:34Speaker 6: of the day, I know this for show. Ain't none
- 9:37Speaker 6: of them gonna stick in me. You can shoot them,
- 9:39Speaker 6: but ain't none of them gonna stick in me. No
- 9:42Speaker 6: matter what you do, no weapon formed against me, nothing
- 9:49Speaker 6: you can't. You can't do nothing with me. Man, I'm
- 9:52Speaker 6: so cool. It's been worth it for me. Man, you're
- 9:57Speaker 6: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Ladies, gentlemen, everybody,
- 10:07Speaker 6: if you're working, if you're unemployed, if you're stable, if
- 10:12Speaker 6: you're just a little off, I'm talking to you this
- 10:15Speaker 6: morning to remind you that you are not so unstable,
- 10:20Speaker 6: that you are not so unemploying, that you have so much.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Going for you.
- 10:25Speaker 6: Realizing that it could be worse, y'all, say thank you,
- 10:29Speaker 6: y'all to tell God today that I appreciate you God
- 10:32Speaker 6: for waking me up, giving.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Me whatever measure of health, that I still have the
- 10:37Speaker 1: ability to get it right. And another chance at it.
- 10:40Speaker 6: That's how we started on the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 10:42Speaker 6: and we invite you to do the same. Shirley Strawberry,
- 10:45Speaker 6: calin Frail, Mississippi, Monica, the comeback here kid Junior and
- 10:50Speaker 6: the legend that is Nephew Tommy. Uh Junior got your
- 10:54Speaker 6: head on tight today and your eyes is love opened up.
- 10:59Speaker 1: So how you doing day? I'm doing great?
- 11:01Speaker 8: Ut Is asked something, Yes, sir, if you can change
- 11:07Speaker 8: anything that's happened to you on your road to success,
- 11:10Speaker 8: would you change anything or would you just keep it
- 11:12Speaker 8: the way it was?
- 11:13Speaker 9: Would you change it?
- 11:13Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I would.
- 11:14Speaker 6: I would have loved to have changed some stuff when
- 11:17Speaker 6: it was happening to me. But as I look back
- 11:20Speaker 6: on it, I realized what it was and it kind
- 11:24Speaker 6: of really makes a whole lot of sense of what
- 11:28Speaker 6: as I've matured and I look back on it. You know,
- 11:32Speaker 6: this is sort of cliche, but everything that happened to
- 11:35Speaker 6: you happens to you in the perfect order that it
- 11:38Speaker 6: needs to happen and needed in order for you to
- 11:41Speaker 6: be who you are.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Today and where you are today.
- 11:45Speaker 6: And if you are not completely where you want to
- 11:48Speaker 6: be today, it is simply because you are still in
- 11:52Speaker 6: the process. It's some lesson that you haven't gotten that life,
- 11:58Speaker 6: the universe, God Almighty is trying to get you to see, but.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You keep holding on. You keep holding on to old
- 12:06Speaker 1: ways and old.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Things and that present that prevent some sorry, that prevents
- 12:12Speaker 6: the blessing from happening. You have got in order. I
- 12:16Speaker 6: learned this from Bishop Jays. In order to get to
- 12:18Speaker 6: the next level, you got to break through a glass ceiling.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Anytime you break through glass and glass shatters, that will
- 12:27Speaker 6: be blood shed. And the blood you shed usually has
- 12:32Speaker 6: to be something that you care about. Sometimes you got
- 12:36Speaker 6: to let certain friends go to move to the next level.
- 12:39Speaker 6: Sometimes you got to put in a phone call to
- 12:41Speaker 6: the family and just say, hey, it ain't happening like
- 12:44Speaker 6: this no more and move on. Sometimes, man, you just
- 12:48Speaker 6: got to leave certain relationships that you've been in. There's
- 12:52Speaker 6: relationships that can hold you back. So you know, man,
- 12:56Speaker 6: I've learned through looking back on it all that everything
- 12:59Speaker 6: happened to me. It kind of makes sense what God did. Now,
- 13:02Speaker 6: what do I wish I could have skipped it?
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah? I do.
- 13:05Speaker 6: But and that's not how you get that ain't how
- 13:08Speaker 6: you get tested. I didn't like all the tests. I
- 13:12Speaker 6: thought they were so unnecessary.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I just slack.
- 13:15Speaker 10: It makes sense.
- 13:16Speaker 6: Okay, god, you're tripping. This is really going way too
- 13:20Speaker 6: long now, So that's my honest answer, Junior.
- 13:25Speaker 1: That's right.
- 13:26Speaker 6: I would rather have gone through I went through and
- 13:28Speaker 6: be who I am than to not have gone through
- 13:30Speaker 6: what I went through and be somewhere else.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Okay, that was good, all right, thank you.

- 15:23Speaker 1: right to Trice.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Yeah, who's this okay?
- 15:28Speaker 5: Like I said, yeah, my name is Alvin, and I'm
- 15:30Speaker 5: just trying to make sure I got the right person, man,

- 15:35Speaker 5: I understand.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm half like, who who the prinsidente? Why? Why
- 15:39Speaker 4: are you asking me questions? What's going on?

- 15:43Speaker 1: No, everything's cool, man, everything's cool, Uh, Trish, So check
- 15:48Speaker 1: this out.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Man, Okay, listen, I got to say at work, man,
- 15:50Speaker 4: say what you need to say. What's happening?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Okay, listen, I actually dently. I said.
- 15:55Speaker 5: I said, tricer some flowers for Valentine's They gonna get
- 15:58Speaker 5: there on Friday. But I accidentally put a you know,
- 16:02Speaker 5: I ordered a gift card along with it, and they
- 16:05Speaker 5: put this gift card in Tricia's gift bag, and really
- 16:09Speaker 5: that's that gift card should.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Really be for my wife.
- 16:12Speaker 5: And I was trying to see if maybe if you
- 16:14Speaker 5: get to the gift bag before, maybe you could get
- 16:16Speaker 5: it out for me so I could get that gift card.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Oh okay, so you said, you said my wife flowers
- 16:22Speaker 4: form Valentine's Day?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Right? You know what I'm saying yeah, yeah, but that's
- 16:25Speaker 1: not the key. The key is is that it's a
- 16:27Speaker 1: gift card in there.
- 16:28Speaker 3: That I need.
- 16:29Speaker 4: You know, that's accident, say a gift card to my wife.
- 16:33Speaker 4: You just want the flowers to go to Earth?
- 16:35Speaker 1: What you're saying, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I said the flowers.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Man, Yeah, no problem, No, yeah, that's cool man. I'm said,

- 16:45Speaker 4: about this? How about you come out over and I
- 16:47Speaker 4: will be more than happy to give you the gift
- 16:50Speaker 4: card because I'm sure you know if you're saying with
- 16:52Speaker 4: the flowers all, I'll just have to hand those a
- 16:55Speaker 4: gift card over to you and probably a nice uh
- 16:58Speaker 4: spaeding to you. Stupid up, Why in the would you
- 17:02Speaker 4: ever call me about this?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Hey?
- 17:03Speaker 1: Man? And I didn't expect all this hotale an.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Hostility, Hey brou All I'm trying to do is like
- 17:12Speaker 3: I said, I ain't bro what do you mean you're doing?
- 17:15Speaker 4: You didn't think there's gonna be hostile? You send my flowers?
- 17:19Speaker 4: But how do you even know my way?
- 17:20Speaker 3: How do you know Tresh?
- 17:21Speaker 4: How do you know Tresh?
- 17:22Speaker 1: I work in I work in the building with that
- 17:24Speaker 1: Trish works in.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Do you work with her? Okay?

- 17:27Speaker 5: Don't work with her. I don't work for her company

- 18:38Speaker 1: I ain't spend no time with her?
- 18:41Speaker 4: Why are you sad hering that? What do you mean
- 18:42Speaker 4: you ain't spend no time with her? How you you
- 18:44Speaker 4: seem to know all about her? You haven't gone out
- 18:47Speaker 4: one time with my wife? No, So you just have
- 18:51Speaker 4: a crush on my wife? Is that what you're trying
- 18:52Speaker 4: to say? And you you just actually send them both
- 18:55Speaker 4: to her? Is that what's caught?
- 18:57Speaker 5: ID accidently send the flower I sent because I wanted
- 19:00Speaker 5: her to house.
- 19:01Speaker 1: She's a pretty she's a pretty lady.
- 19:02Speaker 5: I wanted her to have the flowers, but I didn't
- 19:04Speaker 5: want her to but I didn't want her to have
- 19:06Speaker 5: my wife's gift card?

- 28:10Speaker 1: Hold on, hold, she had boyfriend before you slept you
- 28:16Speaker 1: That ain't stopping. Yeah, but I don't see how this
- 28:22Speaker 1: is the part that disturbs me.

- 28:26Speaker 6: and it just happened, but right after it happened, I
- 28:29Speaker 6: want to tell her how much I care about her,
- 28:32Speaker 6: and I know she got a boyfriend.

- 28:37Speaker 1: you wasn't that drunk dog? Yeah, okay, you can't drunken car.
- 28:44Speaker 6: You saw this girl in the complex before, you've had
- 28:48Speaker 6: some conversations with her. That's how you knew she was

- 30:22Speaker 10: Coming up next of the box, we have very special
- 30:26Speaker 10: interviews with the one and only Benjamin Crump. Right after this,
- 30:30Speaker 10: you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Hey, y'all, listen, we got a special guest this morning.
- 30:40Speaker 6: I told you he's family. He's my frat brother. He's
- 30:44Speaker 6: one of the fighters that's on the front line of
- 30:48Speaker 6: civil rights and justice for all people. But he is
- 30:53Speaker 6: what we consider the trial lawyer of our time. He had,
- 30:58Speaker 6: he's probably the most sought of the civil rights attorney
- 31:01Speaker 6: of present day. And like I said, he's just been
- 31:04Speaker 6: on the front lines of some of the most notable
- 31:06Speaker 6: cases of civil rights and justice.
- 31:09Speaker 1: But he's also now here's the deal, folks, he's a
- 31:12Speaker 1: new author.
- 31:14Speaker 6: His debut novel is worse than a lie, and he's
- 31:19Speaker 6: joining us and tell us about it. Please, welcome to
- 31:21Speaker 6: the show, my dog attorney, Benjamin Crump.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Yessah, yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 4: In morning, Shirley, Timy Calor, y'all. I miss y'all so much.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Morning.
- 31:37Speaker 4: You know, Steve Harvey, I just thought about it when
- 31:40Speaker 4: I first came on your show. The first time was
- 31:43Speaker 4: with Trayvon Martin in twenty twelve. Man, it's been almost
- 31:48Speaker 4: fifteen years. You've been rocking with me and support me, brother,
- 31:52Speaker 4: and I just want to say thank you.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Hey, man, were in this together. I appreciate the way
- 31:56Speaker 6: you are. You are fearless man. You ain't scared of nobody,
- 32:02Speaker 6: nobody and nothing.
- 32:05Speaker 1: And that's what I love about you. Man.
- 32:06Speaker 6: So anytime you need me, I'm here now, like today,
- 32:09Speaker 6: and I check this out. Now, we got to talk
- 32:11Speaker 6: about something different because you are offer now.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Yes, Well, this.
- 32:16Speaker 6: Book that you've come out with, it's a legal thriller.
- 32:21Speaker 6: It's called Worse Than a Lie. It's about an attorney
- 32:24Speaker 6: named Boli Cooper who seeks to uncover the truth about
- 32:28Speaker 6: black ex police officer after black police officer Hollis Montrose
- 32:33Speaker 6: is wrongfully imprisoned after a brutal, racially charged traffic stop
- 32:38Speaker 6: in Chicago.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Now, let me ask you a question.
- 32:40Speaker 6: Does Bolei Cooper reflect the values that influence your career.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Shave in so many ways when you think about what
- 32:48Speaker 4: happened in this novel. I was trying to create a
- 32:52Speaker 4: legal thriller, civil rights legal thriller, much in the way
- 32:55Speaker 4: like John Grisham, The Rainmaker, Michael Conley, the Lincoln Lawyer,
- 33:00Speaker 4: even back to Perry Mason Shirley, with Earl Standard Gardener writing,
- 33:04Speaker 4: these leagal thrillers engage us. And so it had never
- 33:09Speaker 4: been Steve Harvey where we had a black superhero trial
- 33:13Speaker 4: lawyer in these books. And so what I endeavored to
- 33:17Speaker 4: do was to create a scenario where we introduced Bodley
- 33:23Speaker 4: Cooper and created this franchise with a black superhero lawyer
- 33:28Speaker 4: to engage us, entertain us, but more importantly educate us.
- 33:34Speaker 4: And so that's what we've been doing with this book. Steven.
- 33:37Speaker 4: It's been getting rave reviews.
- 33:39Speaker 6: Well, that's interesting, man, because I was wondering what your
- 33:41Speaker 6: inspiration for the book was. So you just told us
- 33:45Speaker 6: that's that's something I would have never thought. But let
- 33:48Speaker 6: me ask you this man in the book. The book
- 33:52Speaker 6: is entitled Worse Than a Lie. There's a contrast in
- 33:56Speaker 6: the book of Barack Obama two thousand and eighty election
- 34:00Speaker 6: and the tragedy of Hollis Montrose shooting.
- 34:04Speaker 1: How's that all put together?
- 34:06Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, Steve, I was being intentional about creating
- 34:11Speaker 4: this allegory, using you know, symbolic characters, settings and events
- 34:20Speaker 4: to create, you know, literally a thought provoking concept. With
- 34:27Speaker 4: the election of the first black president in America, this
- 34:32Speaker 4: moment of hope, this moment of destiny, and then on
- 34:37Speaker 4: that very night you have this black police officer, Hollis
- 34:41Speaker 4: Montrose shot ten times by four white police officers, and
- 34:46Speaker 4: it makes the reader ask the question, now that we've
- 34:49Speaker 4: elected a black president, are we really living in a
- 34:53Speaker 4: post racial America? And it is one of those things,
- 34:58Speaker 4: Steve that even in the chapter preceding the shooting in
- 35:03Speaker 4: the book, Attorney Bullie Cooper is talking to his wife
- 35:07Speaker 4: and he said, when he was on the plane coming
- 35:09Speaker 4: home that a white gentleman said to him, you a
- 35:13Speaker 4: civil rights law. It seems like you're gonna have to
- 35:15Speaker 4: change your profession now that we got a black president,
- 35:18Speaker 4: because they won't be any more civil rights fishers. And
- 35:22Speaker 4: you know, it was foreshadowing, really, Steve, because you think
- 35:27Speaker 4: about the pushback to the election as the first black
- 35:30Speaker 4: president and what we're dealing with in America today. So
- 35:34Speaker 4: not only was I trying to create a legal thriller,
- 35:38Speaker 4: but I wanted it to be a historical footnote for America.
- 35:43Speaker 4: And that's why I think we're getting such raive reviews.
- 35:47Speaker 4: And it's fill of so much fuzz because you think
- 35:49Speaker 4: about what's going on in America today, and the book
- 35:53Speaker 4: is a preachy, but you have the characters doing the
- 35:56Speaker 4: trials talking about, you know, president and still we're dealing
- 36:02Speaker 4: with these issues.
- 36:03Speaker 6: Hey man, this ain't in none of the talking points
- 36:06Speaker 6: out and read or nothing like this. But let me
- 36:08Speaker 6: ask you a question, man, was Bowley Cooper your all
- 36:11Speaker 6: to ego? Yeah, that's what I see.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Well, there's a lot of similarities, man, but he's a
- 36:24Speaker 4: fictional character for a lot of similarities. And I will
- 36:27Speaker 4: tell you this, Stave, the real reason I started writing
- 36:32Speaker 4: these books. I wanted to create this franchise with Surrogod
- 36:36Speaker 4: Marsha is my personal hero, and he once said that
- 36:41Speaker 4: most people would never know what actually happens in a
- 36:45Speaker 4: courtroom while you're fighting for the constitutional rights and the
- 36:49Speaker 4: liberties of marginalized people. So he would always write his
- 36:55Speaker 4: legal memos and his brief to be engaged, Jim, because
- 37:00Speaker 4: you wanted to engage people, to be able to learn,
- 37:04Speaker 4: and what could be more engaging than a legal thrill though?
- 37:09Speaker 6: Yeah, hey man, Hey, hey crump, stay right there. We
- 37:14Speaker 6: will come back more. Tell you all how y'all can
- 37:16Speaker 6: get your hands on this book. Right after this, Steve
- 37:18Speaker 6: Harvey Moore in the show.

- 50:39Speaker 3: You and Devin, y'all can take this and you can
- 50:42Speaker 3: do whatever y'all want with it. Y'all can play with
- 50:44Speaker 3: the sex toys. Y'all can do whatever you want to,
- 50:47Speaker 3: red roses, pedals and all that other stuff.
- 50:49Speaker 4: Y'all can do what you need to do.

- 50:54Speaker 3: gonna be a happy Valentine's Day for nobody involved. That's
- 50:58Speaker 3: what I'm good.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Here's the deal.
- 51:01Speaker 3: As a delivery person, I am obligated to make the drip.
- 51:06Speaker 3: I have to make this drive or then I don't
- 51:09Speaker 3: get you know, I get chewed out that I didn't
- 51:11Speaker 3: do my job, because that's up okay, So what would
- 51:13Speaker 3: what would you rather be twoed out or have throws
- 51:16Speaker 3: up your rear end. Let's hold out, let's load down in.

- 51:36Speaker 3: say this with isaas be as professional as possible. You say,
- 51:41Speaker 3: I'm trying to be as cool as possible, but you
- 51:43Speaker 3: ain't listening to me. Do not bring it to every Okay,
- 51:47Speaker 3: you can drop them off at the curve, then you
- 51:49Speaker 3: get credit for and whoever walk past and up and
- 51:52Speaker 3: down the street they can pick it up. But do
- 51:55Speaker 3: not come to my front door and ring my doorbell
- 51:58Speaker 3: asking me to sign and accept nothing. It ain't have
- 52:01Speaker 3: to drop them off at the door, sir, No, I'm
- 52:06Speaker 3: telling you now, I gotta drop them off at the door.
- 52:09Speaker 3: The problem I'm having is you telling me you're gonna
- 52:12Speaker 3: stick some flowers up my Now we got a problem.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Just listening to this whole scenario, I'm just curious. Is
- 52:19Speaker 3: it possible that maybe Devin does something for her that.
- 52:22Speaker 4: You don't do?
- 52:23Speaker 3: Hey?
- 52:23Speaker 4: Man, you what what's work? Where are you going at
- 52:25Speaker 4: with this? All I'm telling you is demand your business
- 52:28Speaker 4: and don't make this drop.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Why am I doing whatever?
- 52:31Speaker 4: Is that? Den?
- 52:31Speaker 3: I'm that? Why am I gonna do this that Devon
- 52:35Speaker 3: has purchased for her? And if you need why don't
- 52:40Speaker 3: need to ask Devin because he bet and I show
- 52:43Speaker 3: his face up over here. You can take it home
- 52:46Speaker 3: and give it to you your girl if you want to.
- 52:49Speaker 3: I'm not giving my girl anything that I didn't buy
- 52:51Speaker 3: for her. I'm not doing that you think.
- 52:54Speaker 4: So if you if you're not gonna give your girl
- 52:56Speaker 4: anything that you didn't buy for her, why am I
- 52:58Speaker 4: gonna accept something for my girl? I didn't buy it
- 53:00Speaker 4: for her.
- 53:01Speaker 3: I ain't come home now telling you that you gotta
- 53:03Speaker 3: accept it. But I'm saying not remember it and you
- 53:06Speaker 3: bring out in my house, I gotta accept it. And
- 53:08Speaker 3: I'm telling you now, don't even bring it to my house.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Maybe maybe mister Devin know what she looks. She looks
- 53:14Speaker 3: like obviously she's gonna want him no more. She knows
- 53:18Speaker 3: me a head of the flower delivery person, just like
- 53:21Speaker 3: her ex husband. I'm needs boxing and mom whooping. That's
- 53:27Speaker 3: all I got to say. Two words for bringing that

- 55:25Speaker 5: numbers and we're gonna call some of their friends.
- 55:28Speaker 9: Oh that's too bold, right, they know where you at.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Thank you, nephew.

- 56:06Speaker 10: your letter live on the air, just like we're going
- 56:09Speaker 10: to read this one right here, right now, and you
- 56:11Speaker 10: never know, it could be yours.
- 56:13Speaker 1: It could be yours. Buckle up and hold on tight.
- 56:15Speaker 1: We got it for you. Here it is Strawberry letter.
- 56:19Speaker 10: Thank you nephew. Subject he gets to see the world,
- 56:23Speaker 10: but we don't hear Stephen Shirley. I've been married for
- 56:26Speaker 10: six years. When we got married, we already had a
- 56:29Speaker 10: twelve year old, and now we have a six year old.
- 56:32Speaker 10: When my husband and I argue, he loves to say
- 56:35Speaker 10: that he was pressured into getting married. I have let
- 56:38Speaker 10: it slide because I'm not letting him off the hook,
- 56:41Speaker 10: and he will forever take care of me and our
- 56:43Speaker 10: children because I didn't have them by myself. I did
- 56:47Speaker 10: insist that he married me when I got pregnant with
- 56:49Speaker 10: our second child. I do not care if it was
- 56:52Speaker 10: at a courthouse or not. I want my children to
- 56:55Speaker 10: live in a house with married parents, but they're still
- 56:58Speaker 10: not as privileged as their friends are. See, my husband
- 57:03Speaker 10: is a big wig at his job, and he goes
- 57:06Speaker 10: on fabulous work trips He's been to Africa, to Singapore, France,
- 57:11Speaker 10: and Brazil, and he won't allow me or the children
- 57:14Speaker 10: to go with him. He loves to brag about the
- 57:16Speaker 10: sweets that he stays in and sends the children pictures
- 57:20Speaker 10: of all the places he visits. When they ask him
- 57:23Speaker 10: if they can go with him, he says he's busy
- 57:25Speaker 10: the entire time and won't have time to go sight
- 57:29Speaker 10: seeing or spend any time with us on the trip.
- 57:32Speaker 10: All of my children's friends go on summer vacations, trips
- 57:35Speaker 10: for spring break, and they're out of town during the holidays.
- 57:40Speaker 10: But never mind the children. What about me the wife?
- 57:43Speaker 10: I have seen his coworkers' wives on trips with them,
- 57:46Speaker 10: at fancy dinners and on cruises. I feel like I'm
- 57:49Speaker 10: raising the children and not providing them any cultural outlet.
- 57:53Speaker 10: He gets to see the world, but we don't. He
- 57:55Speaker 10: resents me for having children. He resents me for having
- 57:59Speaker 10: the kids. That's plain and clear. He provides the money
- 58:02Speaker 10: for the family and that's all. Is it worth it
- 58:04Speaker 10: to stay with a self centered man? Well, yes, you
- 58:09Speaker 10: are right about that. He's very selfish, self self absorbed.
- 58:13Speaker 10: And if his coworkers are bringing their families on work, trips,
- 58:17Speaker 10: and he's not. It's pretty clear that he just doesn't
- 58:20Speaker 10: want you, guys to come. You say he's a big
- 58:23Speaker 10: wig down at the job. Well, what is the point
- 58:25Speaker 10: in having those kinds of perks and being a big
- 58:27Speaker 10: wig if you can't take your family and do some
- 58:31Speaker 10: of those things. Bring your wife and kids. You want
- 58:34Speaker 10: the kids to see their dad in action, to learn
- 58:37Speaker 10: from his example, not throwing it up in his face
- 58:40Speaker 10: then their faces like he does with the pictures and
- 58:43Speaker 10: all of that. I think your husband is immature. And
- 58:46Speaker 10: to answer your question about is it worth it to
- 58:49Speaker 10: stay with a self centered man? Only you can answer
- 58:52Speaker 10: that because you're in it and you're writing us, which
- 58:55Speaker 10: means you're unhappy. But the facts are as you described
- 58:59Speaker 10: him resent you for having the kids in the first place.
- 59:02Speaker 10: He says you pressured him into getting married. You guys,
- 59:06Speaker 10: never go on any family trips vacations. He doesn't take
- 59:10Speaker 10: you his wife anywhere, you said, and other than providing
- 59:14Speaker 10: the money for the family, he's not a very involved parent.
- 59:18Speaker 10: You and your husband need some therapy if you want
- 59:20Speaker 10: to save this marriage. But the problem is he probably
- 59:22Speaker 10: won't go to therapy because he'll be on a trip
- 59:25Speaker 10: somewhere you know it worked there, Steve.
- 59:28Speaker 6: Very good response, really absolutely excellent. I have a lot
- 59:33Speaker 6: of problems with this letter, but let's just dissect it
- 59:37Speaker 6: this way. You've been married for six years. When you
- 59:40Speaker 6: got married, you all already had a twelve year old,
- 59:44Speaker 6: and now you have a six year old. So you
- 59:48Speaker 6: did get married when you found out you were pregnant
- 59:51Speaker 6: the second time. And then when you all argue, you say,
- 59:56Speaker 6: he loves to throw it up in your face that
- 59:58Speaker 6: he was forced to.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Marry you and pressured you, and.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: You know, and you've let it slide because you're not
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: gonna let him off the hook, and he will ever
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: take care of you and the children because you didn't
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: have them by yourself. Now, you insisted that this guy
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: marry you after you got pregnant with your second child. Now,
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: I don't know what you did to insist that he
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: marry you, but as you should. You probably could have
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: did this same move twelve years ago too, but you didn't.
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: That's whatever, That's just life. That's how it goes sometime.
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: Ain't nobody perfect. You ain't gotta worry about that. You
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: didn't care if it was at the courthouse or not.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: You wanted the kids who grow up in the house
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: with married parents. But then you say they're not as
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: privileged as his other friends because your husband is a
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: big shot down at the job and he go on
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: trips all over the world Singapore, Africa, everything, France, Brazil,
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: and he won't take you and the kids. But you
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: have seen pictures of him at fancy dinners and stuff,
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: and the other wives is there. Okay, I've summed up
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: a lot, but he don't take you nowhere. He don't
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: take the kids nowhere. You've seen pictures of other wives
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: on these trips because you know what you're gonna wear. Singapore, Africa, Brazil.
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: I want to go see some of them places. Most
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: husbands will take their wives on some of the trips.
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: It just stands to reason you're bigger.
- 1:01:44Speaker 13: Now.
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: You say that he resents you from having kids. Okay,
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: why I don't understand that part. He resents you from
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: having the kids. But yet and still, y'all do any
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: things that can produce a kid. The thing about this letter,
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: y'all is Shirley pointed it out. You want to ask
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: the question that you asked at the bottom of the letter,
- 1:02:08Speaker 6: is it worth it to stay with a self centered man,
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: and Shirley's right. Only you can answer that because you
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: got married because you didn't want the kids growing up
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: in the house without married parents. You got that accomplished,
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: and now you want to go to some of the places,
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: but he won't take you. I don't know how you
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: get a man to won't you. See that's the problem.
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: I don't know how to tell you to make your
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: husband want you.
- 1:02:41Speaker 10: All right, hang on, hang on, see we'll have part
- 1:02:44Speaker 10: two of your response coming up at twenty three minutes
- 1:02:48Speaker 10: after the hour. Today's Strawberry letter subject he gets to
- 1:02:51Speaker 10: see the world, but we don't. Right after this, you're
- 1:02:55Speaker 10: listening Hardy Morning Show. Life is unpredictable, but protecting your
- 1:03:06Speaker 10: family doesn't have to be complicated. Globe Life helps family

- 1:03:30Speaker 10: five one fifty four hundred or Globelifradio dot com. All right,
- 1:03:34Speaker 10: come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject
- 1:03:37Speaker 10: is he gets to see the world, but we don't what.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: I've decided to do with this letter to this woman
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: who's married to this man who's a big shot on
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: this job, and he travels a lot, goes to a
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: lot of exotic countries, seeing some amazing places. And they
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: have two children, one twelve and one six. She forced
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: him to marry him while she was pregnant with the
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: second child, so they've been married six years. She's upset
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: because when he goes on these trips, he never takes
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: her are the kids, But she has seen pictures of
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: some of these fancy dinners they go to and the
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: wives are there, and he sends pictures of these incredible
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: sweets that he's staying in and the kids, his own kids,
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: are asking him can he go? Can they go with
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: him sometime? And because all the other friends that they got,
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: they go on summer vacation's trips, on spring breaks and
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: they're out of town during the holidays.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: But she say, but never mind the children, what about me,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: the wife.
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: I've seen his coworkers' wives on trips with them at
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: fancy dinners and all cruisers, and I feel like I'm
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: raising the children and not providing them any cultural outlet.
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: You're not providing them any culture. I don't think that's
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: what it is. I think he want to go and
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: he don't want you to go. He gets to see
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: the world, but we don't. He resents to me for
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: having the kids. That statement throws me a little bit.
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: He resents you for having the kids. Y'all got two kids.
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: He was a willing participant in all of the makings
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: of those children. What you've got to know from health
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: class in elementary school that if you get together with
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: a woman and you do a certain thing, that a
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: certain thing can happen. That's just you know, they showed
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: a little sperm going up the canal and the egg
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: running and all this. He you know, millions of sperms
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: fighting their way through one of the more fascinating days
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: of school I ever went to. But now you got
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: these kids, and he provides the money for the family,
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: and that's all.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Is it worth it to stay with self? Center back?
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: So lady, here's a deal. What I want to do
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: is show you how you're being rejected. Shirley calm. I
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: want you all.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: You are the wife, I'm the husband.
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: Come up with some famous places or things to go
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: see and I will tell you the response he's given
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: her where she want to go and their kids.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: So, wow, let's let's go see.
- 1:06:15Speaker 10: Let's go see the ruins in Italy. You know that's
- 1:06:19Speaker 10: something to see the ruins. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the ruins.
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: Uh huh.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: You're talking about the Roman Coliseum and all all of that, girl,
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: So you gonna subject our children, yes, to such a
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: traumatic time in history. You mean to tell me you
- 1:06:37Speaker 6: want us to go over there and explain to our
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: children why these buildings are so raggedy and told, girl,
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: we're not gonna put.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Them kids through that.
- 1:06:47Speaker 11: Wow, go ahead, Carla. I've always wanted to go see
- 1:06:53Speaker 11: the Eiffel Tower. What a beautiful landmark. I want to
- 1:06:57Speaker 11: go to Paris.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: In Paris, you've watching the news you have with that
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: boycotting and protested and everything in pass Yeah, they piled up.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: What it's just it's it's it's just as bad as America.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: You're talking about Crescant Champagne. Paris, they protested, girl. I
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: mean you, it ain't you prop you.
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: You can't even walk down the streets over here in
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: past and it's crowding. We be the lost one of
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: them kids, and you're gonna lose your mind if we
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: lose one of these kids. Come on, kids wander off
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: getting lost in parents, and we can't get no helc oat.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: We all up here talking about ketch can say ketch
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: can say, they don't even know what we saying.
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: Girl, Wow, let's let's just okay. I mentioned Italy earlier.
- 1:07:49Speaker 10: Let's go to Milan. Let's go see the Olympics.

- 1:07:58Speaker 6: the rooms took up by the Olympics.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: You can't come to Milan.
- 1:08:01Speaker 13: Now.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: You waited too late for that trip right there? Did
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: that way too late?
- 1:08:06Speaker 13: Right here?
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: All right? Okay, what about this? Let's go to Japan.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: Oh?

- 1:08:26Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Eighty kids allergicushi? I think they're here. They're allergic to
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: fish and rice? What that's all they got over there?
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: They ain't got any fishing.
- 1:08:42Speaker 10: Oh honey, I know you've been to the continent of Africa.

- 1:10:37Speaker 9: Unc, I know you've been watching to win the Olympics, man,
- 1:10:39Speaker 9: I know you excited about it.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Let me tell you the middle count right now. The
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: middle count that we have right now.
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: Norway's one, Switzerland is two, Japan is three, Germany is four,
- 1:10:53Speaker 9: and the USA is Fave's.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Let me tell you why we got him now.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: First of all, liz On skated and skied and ain't
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: had no business skid because she had a torn a
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: c l and lifted her off the mountain. She's gonna
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: take her butt right back up on that mount now,
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: she done broke that leg because the leg wasn't stable
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: she got so we feel bad for her. But her
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: little white friend and Becky white girl went on there
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: from America and won the Ladies Downhill for her and
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: God won it anyway. And there's a special piece of
- 1:11:25Speaker 6: news y'all didn't know. Haiti Haiti participated in the in
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: the in the cross country skiing and he finished, oh.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: The dead last. But where was he practice?
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: But just shout out to the mighty, mighty country of
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: Haiti for having a representative over here. In the Ladies
- 1:11:47Speaker 6: Giant slalomn freestyle of snowboarding, it was japan lady was
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: expected to win because she had won silver in the
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: past two World Games and the Olympics, but another white
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: girl from Sweden beat her on the last jump because
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: the Chinese. The Japanese girl felled twice on the same
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: rail at the top. As soon as she jumped on
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: the first rail, she felled two times.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: I said, you fight for your country.
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: But she's also a supermodel and everything she poses for Vogue.
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: So on the way down on the gondola, when they
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: was taking her back down here, they did her makeup
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: for the Vogue shoot, yeah, Doug, I watched one Olympics.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: I'm telling you hood to me and then let me
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: tell you something.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: She in college and she made twenty two million dollars
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: a year in endorsements outside of snowboarding. I don't know
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: riding body. Black kids of mine, no snowboard. They were young,
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: couldn't save a whole lot of problems. Then next door
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: the list, like I said, a week ass out of
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: curly because they beats double.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: What happened?
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: Dan't beat Italy, Dane beat Litho, wasansaon Wansa whatever that country? No,
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: it ain't Lithuania's elector the country that we can't even
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: pronounce the name. They got stoked by Estonia. We don't
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: even know where they at. How you losing to these countries?
- 1:13:23Speaker 6: So the mixed doubles went down, So but we're still
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: in the championship. Figure skating was outstanding. The American team
- 1:13:29Speaker 6: won a goal, Yes we did they Yeah they came back.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Mother. He looked like a free of God brother. Yeah
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: did that. John Moran can do it on the basketball court,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: but we got a white boy to do it.
- 1:13:47Speaker 10: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:13:53Speaker 10: This is from Tunisia and Oak Cliff, Tanisia. Says, my
- 1:13:57Speaker 10: mom moved in with me to help keep an eye
- 1:14:00Speaker 10: on my teenage daughters. They were sneaking out of the windows,
- 1:14:03Speaker 10: sneaking boys into the windows. My mom went to the
- 1:14:06Speaker 10: extreme and nailed their bedroom windows shut. She sometimes sleeps
- 1:14:11Speaker 10: in their room with them, and she'll make them sleep
- 1:14:13Speaker 10: with their bedroom doors open. She also does random room
- 1:14:17Speaker 10: checks and cell phone checks. I love how my mom
- 1:14:20Speaker 10: handles the girls who are fifteen and seventeen, but they're
- 1:14:24Speaker 10: starting to really hate their grandmother. Is it cruel and
- 1:14:27Speaker 10: unusual punishment?
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: Yeah, as it sho would be. That's what punishment is
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: cool and unusual. I don't know why y'all thinking punishment
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: is supposed to be some luxury thing. All punishment is
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: cruel and unusual. She'd have nailed you window shut? Can't
- 1:14:44Speaker 6: I remember that she got that go open?
- 1:14:48Speaker 9: Wow?
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: Oh Grandmama is here everything, and she sleeps in the
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: room with them, And is she come in there and
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: sleep when that way it gets cool? Nobody want to
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: sleep at their grandma.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: He smelled different. Oh you now you're smelling the moth balls.
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: All night.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: One day, I can't holler. What is all the littlement?
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: She got? That littlement on me?
- 1:15:14Speaker 6: Now, it's all in my dreams at school kids talking
- 1:15:17Speaker 6: about I smell like the hospital.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: Grandma saying I got your gentle parents.
- 1:15:24Speaker 10: I'm the hand of this, all right. So it's not
- 1:15:28Speaker 10: a cruel and unusual knowledge.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: It's supposed to be cruel and unused. Yeah, that's speaking.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: It's just regular stuff. Yeah, thinking I complaining about to jail.
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: Don't go down now, yeah, pro right, all right, we
- 1:15:43Speaker 10: have time for another one, Steve. This is from Anne
- 1:15:46Speaker 10: in Jacksonville and says, my husband has a son by
- 1:15:49Speaker 10: his first wife, and we have full custody of him.
- 1:15:52Speaker 10: His ex wife claims the son on her taxes annually,
- 1:15:56Speaker 10: and I think she should pay us child support monthly
- 1:15:58Speaker 10: because if the tables were I'm sure she would ask
- 1:16:01Speaker 10: for child support. My husband said that as a man,
- 1:16:05Speaker 10: he would never ask her for money to raise his son.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Does that sound right to you? Why does he allow
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: her to get over?
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: No?
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: It does.
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: It sounds exactly right, And that's just how real men are.
- 1:16:19Speaker 6: I don't need your help raising my son. I got
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: full custody. You ain't got to give me a quarter
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: that's how real man think.
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: Now, you don't put the little female aspect why letting
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: her get away with it? All he wanted was custody
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: of his son so he could raise him the right way.
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: Now you have to ask yourself something too. Now, It
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: very rarely does a court take a child away from
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: the mother and give custody to the father. That's a
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: whole nother statement right there. It is the most difficult
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: thing for a man to get custody of a child
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: from a mother. So you need to blink right there.
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: So thank God that you have the type of man
- 1:17:02Speaker 6: that you have. Instead of talking about why he letting
- 1:17:05Speaker 6: her get away with that, that's the wrong way to
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: look at him.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Lady, that's his son. I got him. I don't need
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: no help raising him.
- 1:17:13Speaker 10: But you know why the wife is mad because she
- 1:17:16Speaker 10: claims the son on the taxes.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a financial thing. So what the game? Look, man,
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: it's gonna be over in a little while. Be trifling.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: We all know when eighteen come, everybody be looking for
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: that day when it tell I turn eighteen.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Oh, we all look for that day. Haying another die.
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: So you know, I think it's cool that you got
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: the tape of man that you got. Yeah, you know
- 1:17:44Speaker 6: she claiming him on the taxes. Now, I'm gonna tell
- 1:17:47Speaker 6: you right now, you should be claiming him. He should
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: claim his son on his tax Yeah.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: That's her issue. That should happen. That's her issue.
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: Man, I don't I don't know why he won't do that,
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: because that's just as a real simple thing. I don't
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: require child support, but I'm taking full care of him.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: I should claim me mo my tex. Yeah that the
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: man should do that.
- 1:18:12Speaker 10: The ex is doing it. Yeah, no, you not this year.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: You had to put some else on that line this
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: April here on the dependent On All right, thank you.
- 1:18:30Speaker 10: Coming up at twenty minutes after the hour, we will
- 1:18:33Speaker 10: have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.

- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Idea, that idea cooking a romantic dinner.
- 1:19:34Speaker 11: Crowded restaurants and then they have that limited menu what
- 1:19:38Speaker 11: you can't order.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Because it's so crowded. All like that, good idea. Thank you, Macy's.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: We appreciate it, Junior.
- 1:19:47Speaker 10: I know you already just see it.

- 1:25:16Speaker 10: what Is a Junior?
- 1:25:18Speaker 9: In Crumb's voice, Yes, yes, Steve, Steve, I got a
- 1:25:22Speaker 9: new book call dead a lie.
- 1:25:26Speaker 10: Yeah, it's been a lie.
- 1:25:30Speaker 9: Thank you, Steve. I can't tell you every time I
- 1:25:32Speaker 9: come on here, Steve. We all we got still on
- 1:25:35Speaker 9: the front line, Steve, Steve, did you.
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: Change it.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: A little bit? Yeah, a little bit? Try to go
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: deep with his voice.
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: I can't that deep, y'all asking me to do something
- 1:25:51Speaker 9: I know I can't do.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: You can't do well. He just came out of crisis, y'all. Yeah,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: that's what it is. That's all. You know what, you
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: know what you come back.
- 1:26:00Speaker 10: Person a Lie is the name of attorney Benjamin Crump's
- 1:26:03Speaker 10: new book.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: All right, Steve, it's on you.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:12Speaker 9: You know this morning when we started to show and
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: you said you wouldn't change nothing that happened to you.
- 1:26:17Speaker 9: And you know, I never heard you speak like that
- 1:26:20Speaker 9: about your life, about everything that's happened to you to
- 1:26:23Speaker 9: make it to where you are now. You really believe
- 1:26:26Speaker 9: in that.
- 1:26:26Speaker 6: You believe you listen as things happen to you in life.
- 1:26:31Speaker 6: Of course, you are uncomfortable being in it as you
- 1:26:35Speaker 6: go through life's challenges and setbacks. Of course, you regretting
- 1:26:41Speaker 6: the decisions you've made. But once you are through all
- 1:26:45Speaker 6: of the storms and you are in reflective mode, you
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: have got to sit there in that moment and go, Wow,
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: God is really good because somehow he bought you through it,
- 1:27:01Speaker 6: somehow you survived it at his worst moment when it
- 1:27:04Speaker 6: just kept feeling like he was just raining and thunderstorming
- 1:27:09Speaker 6: on you. Man, and and and and and and and
- 1:27:11Speaker 6: the boat was about to turn over. Somehow it didn't,
- 1:27:16Speaker 6: and He got you through it. And as I sit
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: and I look in my life right now, all of
- 1:27:22Speaker 6: the things that happened to me that I wish that
- 1:27:25Speaker 6: I was wishing I could have changed at that particular moment,
- 1:27:28Speaker 6: And there are many. I realize now why they happened,
- 1:27:32Speaker 6: because everything you're going through is God preparing.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: You for what you asked for.
- 1:27:37Speaker 6: Look, man, I didn't even know it, I said, But
- 1:27:39Speaker 6: you know, somewhere down the line, I kept asking God
- 1:27:44Speaker 6: to make me relevant. That's always been a prayer of mine.
- 1:27:48Speaker 6: I wanted to be a relevant person. I wanted my
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: life to count for something. See for me, it's always
- 1:27:55Speaker 6: been more than just telling jokes. I wanted to be relevant.
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: So in that God prepared me to be relevant. And
- 1:28:04Speaker 6: you know how He did it by making me incredibly irrelevant.
- 1:28:09Speaker 6: That's what I had to learn. He took everything from me.
- 1:28:13Speaker 6: I lost it all. He stripped me down, He tested me,
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: He ran me through the furnace, poured me into a
- 1:28:22Speaker 6: new mold. I didn't like none of that heat. I
- 1:28:25Speaker 6: didn't like getting liquified. I didn't like getting poured into
- 1:28:29Speaker 6: the new mold. And then it cooled off and I
- 1:28:33Speaker 6: realized that all of that through the furnace was so
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: he could pour me into this new mold and make
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: me the strong engine block that I become. God Man
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: prepared me for this. So, okay, Steve, you wanna be relevant?
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: Watch this. I'm gonna make you relevant. I'm gonna put
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: you through the grinder. I'm gonna make you lose everything.
- 1:28:57Speaker 6: I'm gonna make you fall, I'm gonna put your.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: See.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: He put me under so when I got up, I
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: could teach people how to get over. He knocked me
- 1:29:09Speaker 6: down and got me up so I could show people
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: how to get up. He made me lose everything so
- 1:29:18Speaker 6: I could then show people how to recover from anything.
- 1:29:24Speaker 6: And you know, it just kind of got me in
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: a position where her old people say, I'm just a
- 1:29:29Speaker 6: nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody that can save anybody.
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: And that's what my life has come to. And had
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: I not gone through all the perils and hardships and
- 1:29:46Speaker 6: trials and challenges, I would not know what I know today.
- 1:29:51Speaker 6: And now do you know what's crazy?
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:29:53Speaker 6: And I didn't even see it coming after I stopped
