Latest / Life For Toledo / Jesus Identifies with the Church Acts 9:4
Transcript
- 0:00Thinking today of Acts 9 .4, it says, And he
- 0:02fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to
- 0:04him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
- 0:07Jesus is speaking to Saul, and he claims the
- 0:10hurt. He says that the things that Saul has been
- 0:12doing to the Christian, to all the Christians,
- 0:15are actually against his person. The church is
- 0:18the body of Christ, and we are collectively more
- 0:20him than we know. This would also mean that with
- 0:24so -called believers, when they walk away from
- 0:26the church, that they are in some very real sense
- 0:28abandoning him. lie to the church and you are
- 0:31deceiving him or trying to. He is still God,
- 0:34the Son, and he knows all truth, is the truth,
- 0:37and he more than takes injustice toward believers
- 0:41seriously. He sees those injustices as directed
- 0:44at him personally. I pray for those who have
- 0:47persecuted the church, even those who live yet
- 0:49today, persecuting the church in some way or
- 0:51speaking bad about the church or refusing to
- 0:53be part of the church. I pray that God will bless
- 0:55those people and draw them unto himself. Forgive
- 0:58them, Lord, for they know not what they do.
