- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time. Y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a suit on giving them like
- 0:15Speaker 1: the million buck things in the stuffing. Not good at
- 0:24Speaker 1: listening to other. Please, I don't join jo. You gotta
- 1:01Speaker 1: turn out. You you gotta turn to turn them out.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Turn you haven't got to turn out? Then turn the
- 1:46Speaker 1: water the water got me? Come come on your ba
- 2:01Speaker 1: uh huh, I shure will a good morning everybody. You'
- 2:05Speaker 1: are listening to the voice, Come on dig me now.
- 2:08Speaker 1: One and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man
- 2:12Speaker 1: got a radio show because God is in a blessing business.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I just happened to be a recipient. I just happened
- 2:20Speaker 1: to got a couple of things right, and man, his
- 2:27Speaker 1: grace and mercy carries you the rest of the way.
- 2:29Speaker 1: All you got to do is get a couple of
- 2:32Speaker 1: things right, and then his grace and his mercy will
- 2:35Speaker 1: take over his favor, his love of you. It's it's
- 2:40Speaker 1: already evident. I mean, you know, because so many times
- 2:43Speaker 1: we go along without even acknowledging him or conferring with
- 2:47Speaker 1: him in our decisions, and we look up when we
- 2:49Speaker 1: find ourselves in a predicament, and he always comes to
- 2:53Speaker 1: the rescue. He always manages to show up. He's never late,
- 3:00Speaker 1: he's never one minute too late. And so in light
- 3:04Speaker 1: of this today I wanted to talk to you about something.
- 3:10Speaker 1: It's another principle of success that I'd like to share
- 3:14Speaker 1: with everybody this morning. And once again, these are not
- 3:17Speaker 1: things that you don't know or you've never heard before.
- 3:21Speaker 1: These are just reminders along the way. And one of
- 3:25Speaker 1: the things you have to be conscious of is don't
- 3:28Speaker 1: be afraid to change. Don't be afraid to change because
- 3:33Speaker 1: change is coming anyway. See, I have a theory, don't
- 3:38Speaker 1: be afraid to change because change is coming anyway. You know,
- 3:42Speaker 1: everything changes, nothing remains the same nothing, and change is inevitable. Now,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you could participate in the change, or you can react
- 3:54Speaker 1: to the change. Are you following me. You can participate
- 3:59Speaker 1: in the change or you can react to the change.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But don't be afraid to change because change is coming anyway. Now,
- 4:09Speaker 1: what I mean by that is this, in participating in
- 4:13Speaker 1: the change or reacting in the change, there is a difference. See,
- 4:19Speaker 1: if you react to the change, that means the change
- 4:23Speaker 1: has occurred, and now you have to make the necessary
- 4:26Speaker 1: adjustments to the change. Example, the boss walks in, You
- 4:32Speaker 1: think your job is good. The boss walks in and
- 4:34Speaker 1: hands you a pink slip. That right there, that's a change.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Now you didn't participate in this change because you didn't
- 4:42Speaker 1: ask for the pink slip. But now you got to
- 4:45Speaker 1: react to the pink slip. Whenever you have to react
- 4:49Speaker 1: to the change, it's an adjustment period. It almost throws
- 4:55Speaker 1: you off. So change is going to come. It always does.
- 5:03Speaker 1: You could participate or you can react. Or let's say
- 5:09Speaker 1: your boss comes in and hands you the pink slip
- 5:13Speaker 1: and you said, you know what I've been preparing for
- 5:16Speaker 1: this day. Always knew nothing. Last forever, I've been working
- 5:22Speaker 1: on the sideline, on the business idea I had and
- 5:25Speaker 1: I had, or I had several other applications in around town.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I was just holding off to see what was going going.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So when they hand you the pink slip, the transition
- 5:35Speaker 1: to adjustment you make is a lot more smooth a
- 5:38Speaker 1: transition because now you just transition into your new business
- 5:42Speaker 1: I did that you've been working on, or you transition
- 5:44Speaker 1: into the apps you already had in or the contact
- 5:47Speaker 1: you made the preparation for when the day they're coming
- 5:51Speaker 1: in hand you the pink slip. Well, stee, what did
- 5:53Speaker 1: they surprise you with it? This is just one example
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm giving you, So you know, let's not nick pick
- 5:59Speaker 1: the message. So what I'm saying to everybody is, don't
- 6:04Speaker 1: be afraid to change, because change is coming anyway. So
- 6:08Speaker 1: many people are stuck in a rut because of your
- 6:12Speaker 1: our refusal to change. I was hell bent on a
- 6:17Speaker 1: certain thing going a certain way, and this is how
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was going to go. Well, that that I was
- 6:23Speaker 1: thinking didn't really fit. Now in my own personal experience,
- 6:28Speaker 1: this may not be yours, but in my own personal experience,
- 6:31Speaker 1: the things that I've had the most trouble letting go
- 6:34Speaker 1: of was something I wanted when I line myself up
- 6:40Speaker 1: with the will of God to ask God what he
- 6:43Speaker 1: wanted for me. You understand, those things came a lot
- 6:48Speaker 1: more easy to me because it was in the will
- 6:52Speaker 1: of God. It was what God wanted me to do too. Okay,
- 6:55Speaker 1: see what you mean by that? Okay, here we go.
- 6:58Speaker 1: When things were going wrong in relationships for me, what
- 7:04Speaker 1: I did was the biggest mistake I've ever made, was
- 7:08Speaker 1: I attempted to fix what was wrong in my relationship
- 7:12Speaker 1: outside of the relationship filming. Okay, so I'm out there
- 7:18Speaker 1: working my groove like I want to. Well, now, guess what,
- 7:22Speaker 1: there's a cause and effect for all of that too.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Your house ain't gonna get better, it can't. And then
- 7:30Speaker 1: in that lady's room for some other things. And so
- 7:34Speaker 1: now that when the change come, guess what, I gotta
- 7:37Speaker 1: react to it. Now, I gotta, I gotta, I gotta
- 7:41Speaker 1: have a reaction to it. Had I lined myself up
- 7:44Speaker 1: in the will of God, the transition may have grown differently.
- 7:50Speaker 1: It could have still ended the relationship. But guess what,
- 7:54Speaker 1: some of the pain I was in I ain't had
- 7:56Speaker 1: to go through. I bought a lot on myself. Sometimes
- 8:02Speaker 1: you're pursuing a passion of yours, and what God really
- 8:06Speaker 1: wants you to do is pursue your gift. So now
- 8:10Speaker 1: you're pursuing your passion. Right, you're passionate about golf. You
- 8:14Speaker 1: love golf so much you just determine. But now you're
- 8:18Speaker 1: messed around. You ain't made it on the PGA Tour yet,
- 8:21Speaker 1: and you fortify still talking about I'm gonna play on
- 8:23Speaker 1: the PGA Tour. Really, okay, maybe you ain't as good
- 8:27Speaker 1: as as you think, or maybe you're not as gifted
- 8:30Speaker 1: as you think, maybe you're pursuing a passion. Sometimes, man,
- 8:33Speaker 1: we have to change and we have to ask God
- 8:37Speaker 1: what is his will? His will is much simpler. It's
- 8:41Speaker 1: a simpler rule. Not going to be easier, it's simpler.
- 8:45Speaker 1: See when I wake up now, it's simple for me
- 8:48Speaker 1: to wake up because I know that all a few
- 8:50Speaker 1: things that I have to do. I have to click
- 8:54Speaker 1: this mic on. I have to be positive. I have
- 8:57Speaker 1: to be inspirational. I have to be informative. I have
- 9:01Speaker 1: to be uplifting. Got it, That's what he wants. All
- 9:04Speaker 1: I got to do is sit down, close my eyes,
- 9:07Speaker 1: ask God to help me be who he wants me
- 9:11Speaker 1: to be, and for the most part, he tell me
- 9:13Speaker 1: what to say. Now, guess what He's done though, to
- 9:17Speaker 1: create this in me. I went through enough things in
- 9:20Speaker 1: my life. I had enough challenges. I made plenty of mistakes.
- 9:25Speaker 1: So I now, at my age, I can turn around
- 9:28Speaker 1: and tell somebody listening to me, Okay, this is what
- 9:30Speaker 1: I did. This is a mistake I made. Maybe you
- 9:32Speaker 1: see yourself in this story right here. Maybe you don't
- 9:34Speaker 1: have to go this way, or this is what I've
- 9:36Speaker 1: learned about becoming successful. Here's a principle that I learned,
- 9:40Speaker 1: but then guess what, I had to be unsuccessful to
- 9:43Speaker 1: get it, though did not. So you can't have a
- 9:45Speaker 1: testimony without a test Change is coming. It's inevitable. You
- 9:50Speaker 1: can participate or you can react. I much prefer to
- 9:53Speaker 1: participate in the change. All right, let's go, ladies and gentleman,
- 10:03Speaker 1: about half your undivided attention. Please. My mouth is being
- 10:06Speaker 1: cupped on the mic because this is a secret. This
- 10:10Speaker 1: is the number one morning show in the entire world.
- 10:14Speaker 1: But the reason it's no longer secret it's because we're
- 10:17Speaker 1: on the radio. We're talking to nine million damn people there.
- 10:21Speaker 1: If you think nine people can keep a secret, you
- 10:24Speaker 1: have lost your ever loving mind. So it ain't no secret.
- 10:28Speaker 1: It's the number one show in the world. Baby, It's
- 10:30Speaker 1: a Steve Harvid Martin show. There's not red it. Gratitude
- 10:34Speaker 1: affects your attitude, which is an direct correlation to your altitude.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Grateful this morning. I want to thank God today again
- 10:42Speaker 1: for another blessed opportunity, man, because it didn't have to
- 10:44Speaker 1: be that way, and I know that you will give
- 10:46Speaker 1: me the strength and the will power and the courage
- 10:49Speaker 1: and the understanding to deal with it all today and
- 10:52Speaker 1: on behalf of myself. I want to thank you for
- 10:55Speaker 1: working behind the scenes on things I have no idea
- 10:57Speaker 1: that's coming my way to continue to that you provided
- 11:01Speaker 1: me throughout this wondrous life of mine. Heavenly Father, I
- 11:04Speaker 1: thank you. Man. Ain't nobody greater. Ain't nobody great greater
- 11:12Speaker 1: than you? Oh, nobody grade, It ain't nobody greater than you?
- 11:28Speaker 1: Come on all in my good last time. It ain't
- 11:34Speaker 1: nobody great. Sing it, boy, that nobody greater than you.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's when you do your own version. I'm singing it
- 11:46Speaker 1: in the lounge now, Steven to show Charlotte Strawberry calling
- 11:51Speaker 1: for real mouth of the South, and Junior boy, what's
- 11:54Speaker 1: on your mind? Dave Junior? Hey, uncle, let me ask
- 11:56Speaker 1: you something. Man. You don't talk about some fellas man,
- 11:58Speaker 1: and you know they got things they want to do.
- 12:00Speaker 1: But like I said, when you started Joel career, man,
- 12:03Speaker 1: when you first started your career, how much support did
- 12:06Speaker 1: you have when you started Joe careercase? They don't want
- 12:08Speaker 1: to see you wrong, that's what they understand. Ain't nobody
- 12:10Speaker 1: to support you. But you can quit looking for that
- 12:14Speaker 1: because when you start off on a venture, you're usually
- 12:17Speaker 1: coming from something that came from your imagination. Your imagination
- 12:23Speaker 1: is placed inside of your mind by your creator because
- 12:27Speaker 1: it is the vision of faith. Listen to that. Faith
- 12:32Speaker 1: is a substance of things hoped for and the evidence
- 12:37Speaker 1: of things not seen. My translation for that was the
- 12:43Speaker 1: evidence of things not seen is your imagination. It's there,
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's everdence to me, but it's not seen by anybody else.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So now I'm got faith in something that came nobody
- 12:56Speaker 1: to see but me. But what you can mad at
- 12:59Speaker 1: them fault. He didn't put it in the imagination. He
- 13:02Speaker 1: put it in yours, all right, but he showed it
- 13:05Speaker 1: only to you. And now he's asking you to believe
- 13:09Speaker 1: in something that you faith for things that you cannot
- 13:13Speaker 1: see it. Amen, you have to walk by faith, not
- 13:19Speaker 1: by sight. And if you're worried about what everybody don't
- 13:23Speaker 1: see except you, you ain't gonna have nothing. Bump down.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It's sorry. I'm sorry for people that didn't see it.
- 13:30Speaker 1: You see me, nat though. Coming up at thirty two
- 13:35Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, juniors in for the nephew to
- 13:40Speaker 1: run that prank back right after this singing st you're listening.
- 13:47Speaker 1: It is time now to run that prank back with
- 13:50Speaker 1: Junior in for the nephew. Junior, what you got? Shut it? Uh?
- 13:54Speaker 1: The title of this prank is your wife gave me
- 13:58Speaker 1: a disease. He finds a way though your wife gave
- 14:01Speaker 1: me a disease. Come on, okay, hello, Hello, I'm trying
- 14:05Speaker 1: to reach out. I'm trying to reach Dante. Yeah, this
- 14:07Speaker 1: is how who this? Hey? How you doing? Man? Um?
- 14:10Speaker 1: I just to be certain you Dante is married to Tammy,
- 14:13Speaker 1: right yeah, okay? Cool? Cool? So listen man. Uh, so
- 14:17Speaker 1: you've heard about me, you know, maybe heard my name
- 14:20Speaker 1: before because I used to day Tammy way before you
- 14:23Speaker 1: guys got married. Uh you know my name is, My
- 14:26Speaker 1: name is Marcella. So I just want to call and
- 14:27Speaker 1: say how are you doing? But I need to say okay, yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I know she mentioned you mentioned y'all used to be
- 14:34Speaker 1: together before we Yeah, okay, I've heard about you. What's um?
- 14:38Speaker 1: What's the phone call for? I needed to talk to you, man.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And I've been holding this back at least four years.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You know, I haven't said anything, and you know I
- 14:49Speaker 1: can't hold it no more. Man, I'm going through so
- 14:51Speaker 1: many issues right now. I just gotta I gotta get
- 14:54Speaker 1: this thing. I gotta get this some grips on this
- 14:56Speaker 1: thing that I'm going through. But you know, I wanted
- 14:58Speaker 1: to come to you, man to man and talk to
- 15:00Speaker 1: you about this situation. You know. I hate to bring
- 15:03Speaker 1: it to you like this, but when me and Cammy
- 15:05Speaker 1: were together, I don't even gonna say when we were together,
- 15:11Speaker 1: Tammy gave me a disease. Man. So you know I've
- 15:15Speaker 1: been holding this, you know, And I gotta say I
- 15:18Speaker 1: wanted to hit you up. I thought about it two
- 15:20Speaker 1: years ago. I wanted but like, what do you mean,
- 15:25Speaker 1: like she gave you a disease? She gave me a
- 15:28Speaker 1: disease about four plus years ago, this way before y'all
- 15:31Speaker 1: got married. I'm from my understanding, y'all been married about
- 15:33Speaker 1: three years, right, yeah, Oh my god, Okay, okay, and
- 15:39Speaker 1: you're calling me. You're calling me. That gets me the
- 15:41Speaker 1: heads up. Oh man, I'm calling it because dude, these
- 15:46Speaker 1: damn the medical bills and all this that's just completely
- 15:49Speaker 1: out of control. I can't even you know, I can't
- 15:52Speaker 1: take care of myself no more with this, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 1: And I don't feel like I have to because she
- 15:56Speaker 1: the one that gave me the day of the sea.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Oh okay, So you're calling because you want you want
- 16:02Speaker 1: me to pay for you want you want us to
- 16:04Speaker 1: pay for your medical bills. Dude, I like, I mean, damn, dude,
- 16:09Speaker 1: I mean put yourself in my position? May I mean
- 16:11Speaker 1: what some brothers posed with you. You know, I'm sitting
- 16:13Speaker 1: over here with a disease somebody gave me, and you
- 16:16Speaker 1: know they're going on what they like. Boh yeah, but
- 16:19Speaker 1: this is so you're calling me telling me my wife
- 16:22Speaker 1: gave you a disease. First of all, she would have
- 16:24Speaker 1: told me that. Secondly, now you're telling me like I
- 16:27Speaker 1: might have some you gotta be kidding me, Well, what
- 16:31Speaker 1: did she give you? What disease are you talking about? Man?
- 16:34Speaker 1: At this point, you know, I don't even want to
- 16:36Speaker 1: discuss it. I just want to get on board. Let's
- 16:38Speaker 1: get we get some kind of understanding with the medical
- 16:41Speaker 1: bills that I can't inside of control. Man, I'm not paying, Okay,
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm not gonna pay for your medical bills, especially when
- 16:47Speaker 1: I don't even know what those do you mean? What
- 16:50Speaker 1: do you mean she gave you a disease? Now I'm
- 16:52Speaker 1: over here freaking the out dude, dude, I understand, you
- 16:55Speaker 1: know from I hope you're good. I really you know,
- 16:59Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, man, dude, I don't know what
- 17:01Speaker 1: to do. No, mom, man, I really don't, you know.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Like I said, Oh hey, yo, yo, you need tell
- 17:05Speaker 1: me all right? You you talking in circles. You're telling
- 17:09Speaker 1: me something you have you caught four or five years ago? Well,
- 17:12Speaker 1: what is it? Some it's sounturable? What the disease are
- 17:15Speaker 1: you talking about? Man, dude. I'm all I'm trying, dude
- 17:19Speaker 1: with regardless of what it is, I'm trying to handle
- 17:22Speaker 1: the medical fields on it. Man, That's what I'm trying
- 17:24Speaker 1: to do, Dude, Moore. Kind of medical bills could you
- 17:27Speaker 1: have for some you caught for years ago? Like four
- 17:30Speaker 1: years ago, you should have been able to fix session.
- 17:32Speaker 1: What is it? Dude? She gave me the disease and
- 17:35Speaker 1: now I need somebody to play these damn fields. That's
- 17:38Speaker 1: all I'm saying to you, all right, that's all I'm
- 17:41Speaker 1: saying that. It's Dante, Yo, I'm telling you what I'm
- 17:45Speaker 1: telling you. Marcello's quit playing and tell me what the
- 17:48Speaker 1: disease this is. It's march Cellers, man, it's march sellers. Okay,

- 21:37Speaker 1: note that said, my teeth looked like butter. He's wasted
- 21:41Speaker 1: five hundred dollars on teeth whitening. Should I try to
- 21:44Speaker 1: get our money back? Now? You need probably need to
- 21:47Speaker 1: go and look into that joke. Yeah, wait a minute, Yeah,
- 21:52Speaker 1: you probably need to go and look into that joke.
- 21:56Speaker 1: You terrible. Somebody tell your teeth look like butter, give
- 22:00Speaker 1: you five hundred dollars towards it. If I were you
- 22:05Speaker 1: just just me talking, I though in the extra five
- 22:07Speaker 1: going there with a thousand and see if we can
- 22:09Speaker 1: at least come away with hot cream you can just
- 22:15Speaker 1: the butter miss and the havel mine look like heavy
- 22:18Speaker 1: whipping cream kind of cream they make positive with it.
- 22:22Speaker 1: We can just give me that. Yeah, and then you know,
- 22:25Speaker 1: you ain't gonna work on it looking like milk. But
- 22:28Speaker 1: let's just get it off butter though she can't see
- 22:35Speaker 1: it because she's been looking at him off the whole time. See,
- 22:37Speaker 1: you don't see it after which used to I'm seeing person,
- 22:40Speaker 1: you know, with a tooth missing. After while they just
- 22:42Speaker 1: gone like it ain't missing all the time. Yeah, you
- 22:46Speaker 1: ain't got I had a Pardner man, Chris Walker had
- 22:50Speaker 1: a whole tooth missing in the front. And first let
- 22:52Speaker 1: to mess with him about it. Then we found out
- 22:54Speaker 1: he wasn't gonna do nothing about it, and then you know,
- 22:57Speaker 1: and in front of the girls. We didn't call him that,
- 22:59Speaker 1: but then you know, we called him TL in front
- 23:02Speaker 1: of the girls. You know, toothless, you less or two?
- 23:13Speaker 1: So you at the basketball court, you was just toothless,
- 23:20Speaker 1: all right? Moving on, moving on to Nisse and Charleston.
- 23:26Speaker 1: NISI says, I am dating a man and I'm having
- 23:28Speaker 1: to share him with his ex wife and his child
- 23:30Speaker 1: because he hasn't moved out of the house. He said
- 23:32Speaker 1: he can't live apart from his child. I told him
- 23:35Speaker 1: he should have stayed married. Is he really staying there
- 23:38Speaker 1: for his child? Girl? M are you sure this is
- 23:44Speaker 1: his ex? Oh? M hmmm, good points. Let that go, girl,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I can my child. Mmm, I've got something both several children.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I actually avoid him at time. I got living to say.
- 24:09Speaker 1: How we ain't got to say in the the same stay? Man,
- 24:14Speaker 1: Come on, lady, I don't I don't really know. And
- 24:17Speaker 1: where is this relationship going? You can't visit him. He
- 24:20Speaker 1: can't come and go as he pleased. Because if you stay,
- 24:25Speaker 1: can he stay out all night with you? That's my question?
- 24:28Speaker 1: M good one? Mm all right? If your visitations is
- 24:34Speaker 1: limited to go into his place, and if visitations is
- 24:39Speaker 1: limited to how long he can stay at chill place,
- 24:43Speaker 1: that's how he got to get back in there. So
- 24:46Speaker 1: he told her he was going through a divorce, then
- 24:48Speaker 1: out they got together. No, he said, his ex wife.
- 24:53Speaker 1: But he's still in the house. Yeah. Yeah, he told
- 24:56Speaker 1: me what many falling for some stupid stuff because of
- 25:02Speaker 1: they invent it. They I don't know if you heard
- 25:04Speaker 1: of this, but they got the new stuff called joint custody.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Uh huh, And they came up with a new thing,
- 25:10Speaker 1: another thing called visitations. Yeah, yes, said he can't live
- 25:15Speaker 1: apart from his child, all right, he might as well
- 25:18Speaker 1: stay married. Everybody can do that. Ask anybody that's got
- 25:22Speaker 1: a child. They can't live apart with him, at least
- 25:24Speaker 1: for the weekend. They always breaking. Yeah, all right. Moving
- 25:31Speaker 1: on to Jazz and Hertford, Jazz says, my man likes
- 25:34Speaker 1: to snuggle up under me while we sleep, but he
- 25:37Speaker 1: doesn't always shower before bed. He can't read my body language,
- 25:41Speaker 1: so he doesn't know when I don't want him on me.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Am I going to have to tell him that he's funky?
- 25:46Speaker 1: What should I do? Yeah? Hell? Yeah, you live with
- 25:50Speaker 1: a stupid person. He can't read the room? Yeah right, Yeah,
- 25:56Speaker 1: how should she say? It's Steve? What should she say?
- 25:59Speaker 1: Who just go in? Nothing? That's every time you walk
- 26:09Speaker 1: in the room. Got him? Take hi? Some people can't.
- 26:14Speaker 1: What is it? What? Baby? What baby did you show? Mmmmmmm?
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yeah baby baby, I'm so sorry. I'm like, excuse me,
- 26:26Speaker 1: I'm sorry. My eyes is burning. Girl. You got me
- 26:34Speaker 1: un in for your yeah, coming on? Ye just to
- 26:42Speaker 1: be close to you. Okay, So she should just tell him? Okay,
- 26:49Speaker 1: all right? Last one See last one. Ralph and Saganaw says,
- 27:01Speaker 1: I'm a sixty nine year old retired truck driver and
- 27:04Speaker 1: after being home a few months, I found out my
- 27:07Speaker 1: wife has a man on the side. She knows I've
- 27:10Speaker 1: cheated on her before, so I guess this is how
- 27:13Speaker 1: karma goes. We haven't had sex in years, but I
- 27:17Speaker 1: do love her as my wife and friend. Should I
- 27:20Speaker 1: put an end to the affair or walk away? No?
- 27:23Speaker 1: You sixty nine dollars ride her own out? Yeah that's
- 27:29Speaker 1: good idea. Get to know him? Yeah, get to know him.
- 27:32Speaker 1: See the problem with you, your wife and nobody talking
- 27:35Speaker 1: about leaving nobody. You ain't leaving her. She ain't leaving you.
- 27:40Speaker 1: She ain't leaving him. He ain't leaving her. They're just cool.
- 27:47Speaker 1: So the edges had something to do with it, because yeah,
- 27:50Speaker 1: six friend and your wife. Yeah, what's they're not intimate?
- 27:56Speaker 1: What's some questions? What's some questions he could ask her?
- 27:59Speaker 1: But baby, you y'all hungry? So what y'all want to
- 28:12Speaker 1: watchnight Netflix and chill? Yeah? They bro you see him
- 28:23Speaker 1: all the house shot? That's my favorite path. They're a
- 28:31Speaker 1: throup the right. Okay, okay, baby, we're gonna all sit
- 28:39Speaker 1: here on this couch watching this movie. We need to
- 28:40Speaker 1: go in there and get that comfort off the bag throws.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm not under the throat. Y'all got both the throws. Now,
- 28:47Speaker 1: we're gonna need this comfort. They selfish. I love a
- 28:52Speaker 1: good throw, though, Steve throw baby, ashing on mobile, drinking
- 28:59Speaker 1: all the cool now, all right, thank you, see hello
- 29:06Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, as promised
- 29:09Speaker 1: Stephen A. Smith. Right after this. You're listening to the show. Hey, y'all,
- 29:17Speaker 1: we got a very very special guest this morning. My dog.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Come on, baby, rain, sleet, snow shine. We like the
- 29:24Speaker 1: Pony Express over here, we ride, We ride together. He
- 29:29Speaker 1: is the most notable sports analysis and sports talker because
- 29:39Speaker 1: when you're trying to be being you ain't really got it.
- 29:42Speaker 1: He's the biggest spots talker crazy all our time. His
- 29:50Speaker 1: signature style of commentating is renowned. He's a feature commentator
- 29:54Speaker 1: executive producer for ESPs First Take and his No Mercy
- 29:59Speaker 1: podcast ass is streaming on YouTube. He's added another another
- 30:04Speaker 1: iron in the fire baby. He is now a best
- 30:07Speaker 1: selling author. This is one of his newest accolades and
- 30:11Speaker 1: he's got a new book out entitled Straight Shoot Him.
- 30:15Speaker 1: It's a memoir of second chances and first takes. It's
- 30:18Speaker 1: available now. He's here to tell us about straight shoot Him.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Why he shoots straight all the damn time? Shoot straight?
- 30:27Speaker 1: When he needed to be flying crooked sometime, but he
- 30:30Speaker 1: don't on la gentlemen, straight shooting himself. My dog, the
- 30:36Speaker 1: one and only stephen A. Smith. What's what's going on?
- 30:42Speaker 1: I miss y'all so much. How's everybody doing? Yeah? Great?
- 30:48Speaker 1: How you feeling, man? I'm just humbled, man. You know,
- 30:53Speaker 1: my my book hits the New York Times bestseller list, uh,
- 30:57Speaker 1: you know, on on Wednesday. And then the book was
- 31:01Speaker 1: dedicated obviously to my mother, who was the ultimate straight shooter.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Y'all all know she passed away in twenty seventeen. She's
- 31:08Speaker 1: the greatest woman I've ever known, and I dedicated the
- 31:12Speaker 1: book to her. And you know, we talk about God
- 31:15Speaker 1: a lot, I know y'all do. And for me to
- 31:19Speaker 1: be a New York Times bestseller, um, it's beyond my
- 31:23Speaker 1: wildest dreams. But the day it was announced was on
- 31:27Speaker 1: my mother's birthday, which was Wednesday, So it was hard.
- 31:32Speaker 1: How hard did you cry? How hard? I'm sorry? I said?
- 31:37Speaker 1: How hard. Did you cry, M I cried a little bit.
- 31:42Speaker 1: You know, I missed a lot. You know, I spent
- 31:44Speaker 1: two days. First two years she was gone, I cried
- 31:46Speaker 1: every day, And you know I cried periodically from time
- 31:50Speaker 1: to time because I missed her so much. But when
- 31:54Speaker 1: I when I got to New York Times bestseller, I
- 31:56Speaker 1: mean in the book I talked about how I got
- 31:58Speaker 1: left back now once or twice, got left back in
- 32:01Speaker 1: the third grade because at the first grade reading level.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I got promoted that following September. I got left back
- 32:06Speaker 1: in June. But I got promoted that September to the
- 32:09Speaker 1: fourth grade after I did summer school. Then I completed
- 32:12Speaker 1: the fourth grade and then got left back again because
- 32:14Speaker 1: I still had a fourth grade reading level. And I
- 32:17Speaker 1: remember when I was a fourth grader and my father's
- 32:19Speaker 1: and standing in the kitchen with my mother, and he
- 32:22Speaker 1: doesn't know that she's on They don't know I'm on
- 32:24Speaker 1: the back porch. And my father told my mother the boys,
- 32:27Speaker 1: just stay smart, he ain't gonna be anything. Just get
- 32:29Speaker 1: over it and accepted. And my mother never ever capitulated
- 32:34Speaker 1: to that. She navigated in it, as she always believed
- 32:36Speaker 1: in me. She always pushed me She always demanded excellence
- 32:41Speaker 1: from me and what have you. And she was my
- 32:43Speaker 1: greatest cheerleaders. And so it's one thing if I'm successful,
- 32:47Speaker 1: because you know, I'm doing something totally different. I'm playing sports,
- 32:52Speaker 1: you know, I'm an act, I'm doing whatever. It's another
- 32:55Speaker 1: thing entirely when you can't you can't read, you can't
- 32:58Speaker 1: comprehend what you eating because of your ability to read, write,
- 33:03Speaker 1: and communicate. For me to overcome those challenges and then
- 33:06Speaker 1: to be this successful, and then for it to be
- 33:10Speaker 1: the culminating point because I've achieved everything I hired to
- 33:13Speaker 1: set out to achieving my career ready for to achieve
- 33:15Speaker 1: this was the final thing on my bucket list, and
- 33:18Speaker 1: to pull it off and the habit announced on her birthday,
- 33:22Speaker 1: it was truly, in my mind, God's way of just
- 33:25Speaker 1: reminding me that she's watching over me and she's taking
- 33:28Speaker 1: care of me. Still beautiful, beaut You know. I think
- 33:32Speaker 1: I think a lot of people don't know the backstory
- 33:36Speaker 1: behind people's success. I think books like this are important.
- 33:40Speaker 1: You in this book, man, you get pretty frank with everything.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Stephen and you was talking in the book about getting
- 33:45Speaker 1: fired for the ESPN in two thousand nine and sharing
- 33:49Speaker 1: that news with your mother. How did that go? Well?
- 33:52Speaker 1: That was a tough one. When I got let go
- 33:54Speaker 1: and they told me they were letting me go, I
- 33:57Speaker 1: was devastated. I felt screwed over. I felt set up.
- 34:01Speaker 1: But I also felt very very alone and very scared
- 34:05Speaker 1: because I was a father, I was a new dad,
- 34:08Speaker 1: and I was like, man, this is this is scary
- 34:11Speaker 1: as hell because how am I gonna take care of
- 34:13Speaker 1: my responsibility? Because it's the lasting it's the biggest fear
- 34:16Speaker 1: that I've always had. And I went back to my
- 34:19Speaker 1: mother's house looking my wounds. Even though I had my
- 34:21Speaker 1: own house in South Jersey, New Jersey, I went back
- 34:24Speaker 1: to her house in Holly's Queens and I laid in
- 34:26Speaker 1: the bed for a couple of days. And after a
- 34:29Speaker 1: couple of days then she would always bring me breakfast,
- 34:32Speaker 1: my well toasted bagel with extra butter, my hot team
- 34:35Speaker 1: milk and sugar from the West Indies and I always
- 34:38Speaker 1: drank that and she brought me a tray of food
- 34:42Speaker 1: and on the tray with the food was a handheld mirror,
- 34:46Speaker 1: and I was like, what is this for? She said,
- 34:48Speaker 1: I'm just wondering when you're gonna start looking at yourself.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And she pointed out how my attitude wasn't the greatest,
- 34:55Speaker 1: that I was a bit too negative. That she listened
- 34:58Speaker 1: to me over the phone talking about my boss is,
- 35:00Speaker 1: talking about issues, playing the role of victim, acting like
- 35:04Speaker 1: everybody was doing me wrong instead of accepting culpability for myself.
- 35:08Speaker 1: And she said, I'm not saying you deserve to be
- 35:10Speaker 1: by it, but I do know this. I know that
- 35:13Speaker 1: you don't like being around people like that, So why
- 35:16Speaker 1: would you expect your bosses to want you around. You
- 35:19Speaker 1: gotta grow up. You got a mature and you got
- 35:21Speaker 1: to accept the fact that things don't always go your way.
- 35:24Speaker 1: But you gotta first to be in any way and
- 35:25Speaker 1: maintain a level of decorum and control employs, and and
- 35:31Speaker 1: get rid of that arrogance and acting like you entitled
- 35:33Speaker 1: to things because you're not. That made a really big
- 35:36Speaker 1: time to impact in terms of changes my mind set
- 35:39Speaker 1: and get me on the right track again. We got
- 35:41Speaker 1: to come back. I don't know who this is I'm
- 35:43Speaker 1: talking to. I've heard that, I don't know what. We
- 35:48Speaker 1: all got to come back. This is great man. The
- 35:50Speaker 1: book is called Straight Shooter. It's a memoir second chances
- 35:54Speaker 1: at first take We'll be back more with Stephen A.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Smith right after this. You're listening, all right, everybody, We're back.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I especially guest this morning is my friend Stephen A. Smith.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I ride with him. I don't care what happened. And
- 36:09Speaker 1: this brother right here, Yeah, I'm seeing the side of
- 36:12Speaker 1: him today, the first the comments I've ever talking, the
- 36:15Speaker 1: most inside look I've seen him giving himself publicly, publicly,
- 36:19Speaker 1: And I think you got to understand that everybody you
- 36:22Speaker 1: see as a success story today, there's another story that
- 36:26Speaker 1: often ain't told that looks like that could look a
- 36:29Speaker 1: lot like your story. Can I say something you know?
- 36:32Speaker 1: I love all of y'all I've known yet off the years,
- 36:35Speaker 1: but I want to share something with y'all audience that
- 36:37Speaker 1: I've never shared with anybody, and it's about Steve Harvey,
- 36:41Speaker 1: where my brother died in nineteen ninety two in a
- 36:44Speaker 1: car accident. Two months before he passed away, I made
- 36:48Speaker 1: a vow that I would never go to his grave
- 36:50Speaker 1: site until I achieved what he score. I would achieved,
- 36:55Speaker 1: and that was that I was gonna be on the
- 36:56Speaker 1: ESPN one day. I was gonna be a general sports columni.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I was gonna be on TV and I was gonna
- 37:02Speaker 1: resonate in such a way that the sports world was
- 37:05Speaker 1: going eight to hear what I had to say. And
- 37:08Speaker 1: I never went to his grave until I achieved that
- 37:10Speaker 1: goal eleven years later. And I bring up that story
- 37:13Speaker 1: because fast forward to two thousand and nine, I had
- 37:17Speaker 1: lost my job and I was wondering about my future.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I got a job back on Fox Sports Radio, but
- 37:23Speaker 1: I was contemplating a lot of things, wondering how I
- 37:25Speaker 1: could climb back or whatever. And I was in Atlanta
- 37:29Speaker 1: showing up for the Disney Dreamers of Things, and I
- 37:33Speaker 1: was with Steve Harvey, and Steve Harvey doesn't remember this,
- 37:37Speaker 1: but Steve Harvey probably doesn't remember this, but he sat
- 37:39Speaker 1: down and talked to me because he saw fear in
- 37:41Speaker 1: my eyes because I I had two daughters by this time.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I had a responsibility to take care of them, and
- 37:48Speaker 1: I knew that I had gotten screwed over. But I
- 37:50Speaker 1: also knew that I needed to accept accountability and to
- 37:53Speaker 1: resurrect my career, and I knew it was going to
- 37:56Speaker 1: be a long path, a long path there. And Steve
- 37:59Speaker 1: Harvey sat me, being a big brother that he is,
- 38:02Speaker 1: and gave me words wisdom about the trials and tribulations
- 38:06Speaker 1: that I not only went through, but that I would
- 38:09Speaker 1: have to go through to restore what I want had
- 38:13Speaker 1: and to eclipse what I want had. And I always
- 38:16Speaker 1: held onto those words. But more importantly than that, what
- 38:20Speaker 1: I held on to most was the big brotherhood that
- 38:24Speaker 1: he extended towards me that helped inspire me because it
- 38:28Speaker 1: reminded me that everything that I was after and everything
- 38:31Speaker 1: that I was in pursuit of wasn't just myself, but
- 38:34Speaker 1: it was for him and all the people in my
- 38:37Speaker 1: life that never hesitated to extend to helping in. So
- 38:43Speaker 1: while I'm sitting here this morning as a New York
- 38:46Speaker 1: Times bestseller, I want to say, to get the applause
- 38:50Speaker 1: for me, make sure you give it to people like
- 38:52Speaker 1: Steve who extended a helping hand and inspired me and
- 38:57Speaker 1: helped me learn how to galvanize chops to build my
- 39:01Speaker 1: support base so when I climbed again, I wouldn't fall
- 39:05Speaker 1: because I made sure to surround myself with people who
- 39:09Speaker 1: wouldn't let me fall. You're one of those people, and
- 39:12Speaker 1: I just want to say, I love you for it,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and I really appreciate it. Thank you. Wow. Let me
- 39:19Speaker 1: go to a break right, let's go to break, Steve. Yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 1: I'm going to break and I'm gonna go write my memoir.
- 39:24Speaker 1: I'll be right. I'm coming back with Steve Swood right
- 39:27Speaker 1: out his e you're listening show, We're back especial guests
- 39:34Speaker 1: this morning. It's been compelling. Stephen A. Smith from First
- 39:39Speaker 1: Take from the No Mercy Podcast now the best selling author.
- 39:44Speaker 1: He's on the New York Times bestseller list. The story
- 39:47Speaker 1: is about his past, his failures, his relationship with his family.
- 39:52Speaker 1: All of this, man is coming out. So Stephen A Man.
- 39:55Speaker 1: You you're known as a straight shooter. That's the name
- 40:00Speaker 1: of the book, Straight Shooting. Let me ask you this, man,
- 40:03Speaker 1: have you ever said anything most Lisa needed you you
- 40:09Speaker 1: could just suck back in your mental well we all
- 40:13Speaker 1: we all know what that is for me bringing up
- 40:15Speaker 1: the Rihanna and Beyond they comparison that. I can't believe
- 40:20Speaker 1: what that turned into. I mean, I'm like, you gotta
- 40:24Speaker 1: be h me man, completely off God and completely off God,
- 40:30Speaker 1: completely blindsided man. Listen. Cherry Shepherd, who's doing a great job.
- 40:35Speaker 1: They picked up to additional seasons for us show. I'm
- 40:37Speaker 1: really happy for her. Um, you know, the hard team
- 40:41Speaker 1: came into me before the show, and they said, Stephen Ay,
- 40:44Speaker 1: you do debate. You do a debate show every day.
- 40:47Speaker 1: We want to have a debate style format, so we
- 40:51Speaker 1: don't mind a healthy debate about something. We want to
- 40:53Speaker 1: kind of incorporate that into your segment. And I said,
- 40:56Speaker 1: no problem. You know, making a little different than what
- 40:58Speaker 1: people are customed to seeing. If you away from first take,
- 41:01Speaker 1: I said, no problem. So when she asked me about
- 41:04Speaker 1: Rihanna doing the super Bowl, listen, I love Rihanna. She's phenomenal.
- 41:10Speaker 1: She got my money, just like Beyonce got my money.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I bought vote power. You know, I support them votes.
- 41:16Speaker 1: But I am a Beyonce fay. I think he might
- 41:20Speaker 1: be the greatest female talent I've ever seen. And that
- 41:24Speaker 1: includes Janet Jackson, who I loved as well. And so
- 41:28Speaker 1: for me, when she said Rihanna, and I'm thinking, you know,
- 41:32Speaker 1: she said Rihanna and the super Bowl or when I'm
- 41:34Speaker 1: thinking super Bowl halftime shows, I'm thinking Beyonce with Definity Shop.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I'm thinking Beyonce with Bruno Mars and gold Play. And
- 41:42Speaker 1: I'm like, that's a high standard to live up to.
- 41:45Speaker 1: And so because Sherry was asking me the question and
- 41:48Speaker 1: I had in mind what they were saying. I was like,
- 41:51Speaker 1: she's a lot of things. She's sensational and fantastic. You
- 41:53Speaker 1: just ain't Beyonce and you thought that. I said to
- 41:58Speaker 1: the woman, I'm a I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 42:01Speaker 1: I'm like, Steve Steven, let me ask you a question.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Where were you? Okay? Now I know Sherry's show is
- 42:12Speaker 1: taped to live went on the next day, so it
- 42:15Speaker 1: adds the next day. Just as it takes, they go
- 42:18Speaker 1: to commercial break on time everything, it's really great. Where
- 42:20Speaker 1: the show? She got great? Exactly? Tod some black dude,
- 42:24Speaker 1: John Murray, where were you right after the show aired?
- 42:29Speaker 1: And where were you walking from? Yo? Bro, it wasn't
- 42:34Speaker 1: even that. I take the show, And ninety minutes later,
- 42:39Speaker 1: as I'm about to go into serious x N, the
- 42:42Speaker 1: taper in the view the damn thing was viral and
- 42:46Speaker 1: everybody was going crazy because they're like, Yo, what did
- 42:50Speaker 1: you say about because I fly they put some clips
- 42:53Speaker 1: out or what I said before the show even airs,
- 42:58Speaker 1: and y'all know, I don't even know. I never even
- 43:03Speaker 1: knew who Navy was until I was said, why I'll
- 43:07Speaker 1: beat Navy? You mean I armed? Fortunately we are you
- 43:09Speaker 1: talking about on the Navy airports, Marie, what you're talking about?
- 43:12Speaker 1: They're like, no, Na Navy, Yeah I had I had
- 43:19Speaker 1: no idea. I never heard of it in my life.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm too busy working all the day, so
- 43:25Speaker 1: i didn't know this stuff. When when people say they're
- 43:28Speaker 1: coming at me, I was like, well, the hell with them.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I don't give a damn thing that I know. Who
- 43:34Speaker 1: are Hollywood stars or Hollywood athletes texting me? Come on,
- 43:38Speaker 1: Stephen ain't nab you can't say that, Beyonce, what are
- 43:43Speaker 1: you talking about? Stephen name, you can't do this. And
- 43:48Speaker 1: then you got Leslie Jones going on, Tommy sent you
- 43:51Speaker 1: mean mudge me going off. I'm like, I'm a Leslie. Yeah,
- 43:56Speaker 1: we were mad, Stephen ain't mad? We were mad. I
- 44:04Speaker 1: was like yeah, and I'm sitting there going like this, yo, y'all.
- 44:09Speaker 1: The only thing that really made me mad? Hey, Stephen
- 44:12Speaker 1: A hole on one second, see Stephen a stay right there.
- 44:15Speaker 1: You should have been gone two breaks and go. But
- 44:18Speaker 1: you that good of against right back, Stephen Smith, you're
- 44:26Speaker 1: listening all right, y'all. We're back. I especially guess this
- 44:32Speaker 1: morning is my dog Steven A. Smith and So this
- 44:38Speaker 1: is my boy. Man. We've been ride and die no
- 44:40Speaker 1: matter what we've been on, we've been having a great conversation.
- 44:46Speaker 1: And now we got into the Rihanna thing. And all
- 44:48Speaker 1: I can say about this is, Lord Jesus. Mad it was.
- 44:52Speaker 1: That's all I can say, Lord Jesus, because I talked
- 44:56Speaker 1: to this boy the same day it came out, because
- 45:00Speaker 1: you know what you're talking about, coming on the radio
- 45:02Speaker 1: and promoting the book and stuff like that. Yeah, but
- 45:06Speaker 1: I just called him man, just to put my arm
- 45:07Speaker 1: around him a little bit because I had several people
- 45:11Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it. And this is what really, this
- 45:14Speaker 1: is the only time I got mad. But it's like
- 45:17Speaker 1: when it's like, oh, he's hitting two black women against
- 45:20Speaker 1: he because I couldn't have stop that. Let's stop that.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I did not say a negative word about Rihanna. Not
- 45:28Speaker 1: a negative word. Okay. The fact that the matter is,
- 45:31Speaker 1: I'm entitled to be a fan, and the reality is
- 45:34Speaker 1: that I bought both of the album I listened to
- 45:37Speaker 1: both of their music. I support both of them. I'm
- 45:40Speaker 1: just more of a fan of Beyonce so Rihanna. That
- 45:43Speaker 1: is not a crime. And I'm like, y'all got to
- 45:46Speaker 1: be kidding me. Which now this is black on blackbirth?
- 45:49Speaker 1: When so when Michael Jackson or Prince was the subject,
- 45:52Speaker 1: which one you got that's black on black crime? I
- 45:55Speaker 1: mean it's this loser or Teddy Pendergrass that's black on black.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Now you got to stop that. We got to stop it, Okay,
- 46:03Speaker 1: see Steven, see Stephen. I can't love Steven Harvey. I
- 46:06Speaker 1: can't love Steve Harvey except the entertainer. I can't love them. Nope, Nope.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Not on the internet. Canett is undefeated? Man, Well, let
- 46:21Speaker 1: me tell you what I did on the internet. Let
- 46:23Speaker 1: me tell you what I did on the internet. I
- 46:24Speaker 1: bet to the internet, Wenna to you. I want to
- 46:29Speaker 1: apologize for all of this, just not just noise this
- 46:33Speaker 1: brue hard blah blah blah. I want to apologize to you,
- 46:37Speaker 1: Navy and everybody else. Kiss my ass. I would be
- 46:40Speaker 1: very clear about that. I won't be very clear about that.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I'm still Steven A. I'm anyway the shield, anyway I
- 46:52Speaker 1: can save his ass from his No from you. I'm
- 46:58Speaker 1: not gonna let you you call listen to me me
- 47:02Speaker 1: and you go back like Cadillac seats. I'm not gonna
- 47:05Speaker 1: you can't dig this whole, no damn deeper. Now you
- 47:09Speaker 1: right down in the hold in your lighting wigs, listen,
- 47:13Speaker 1: old Rihanna, an apology? How do I owe somebody else
- 47:16Speaker 1: an apology? Because I'm a fan? You don't what did
- 47:19Speaker 1: I do? You don't stop talking about the Navy, And
- 47:28Speaker 1: Steven had just said, oh, stephen A looks so handsome.
- 47:31Speaker 1: We were filling the gray temples and all of that
- 47:35Speaker 1: when you first came out of the set and everything.
- 47:37Speaker 1: We were rocking with you, stephen A. And then you said, manya,
- 47:45Speaker 1: But do y'all understand She asked for a debate style
- 47:48Speaker 1: for man I told the team stephen A. I told
- 47:52Speaker 1: the team, I'm telling you right now, when you do
- 47:54Speaker 1: these shows, a producer comes in the room and they
- 47:57Speaker 1: kind of want to get a heads up. Now he
- 48:00Speaker 1: didn't say this in the producing room, but they gave
- 48:03Speaker 1: him the green light of some side to be somewhat
- 48:06Speaker 1: controversial about something I say. Asked me, asked me. I
- 48:12Speaker 1: tolde that we just didn't know your nuddy. Asked was
- 48:19Speaker 1: gonna do it? I do, Try, I do. Try. Hey, man,
- 48:30Speaker 1: here's what I love about you, and it is take
- 48:34Speaker 1: me as I am. I am a straight shooter. And
- 48:38Speaker 1: what makes you a huge success is that you are
- 48:41Speaker 1: so compelling on TV. You are must see TV. And
- 48:47Speaker 1: that's what makes first take number one. That's what makes
- 48:50Speaker 1: it what it is. Because love it, like it, hate it, needed,
- 48:56Speaker 1: wish it. He gonna say it, and now you could
- 49:00Speaker 1: take it and feel how you want to feel. But
- 49:03Speaker 1: this is what I said, and that is my duck.
- 49:07Speaker 1: He is unapologetically Stephen Smith. Damn it, I am the
- 49:14Speaker 1: first take. I'm the last take. When I did the
- 49:17Speaker 1: show right there, me and Steve got an argument. Stephen
- 49:19Speaker 1: Ay got an argument on the show. I say, hey, man,
- 49:22Speaker 1: the name of the show is first take, not your take.
- 49:28Speaker 1: You were arguing with Steve and you know, man, but
- 49:32Speaker 1: you come on this show. Man. He's such a gracious host.
- 49:35Speaker 1: He treats you wonderful. He respects all of his guests.
- 49:38Speaker 1: You know, he could really do a number on what
- 49:40Speaker 1: some of these celebrities and cats is getting on that saying,
- 49:43Speaker 1: because you know they're saying something dumb. They ain't really
- 49:45Speaker 1: got the facts. He trying to be compelling it and
- 49:48Speaker 1: he walks them through the interview and guides him down.
- 49:50Speaker 1: But if you're a reglar on that show, if you swaggle,
- 49:53Speaker 1: if you Michael, if you're that old boy right there
- 49:57Speaker 1: that had the mohawk, if you anyone of them Greeny,
- 50:00Speaker 1: you're asking to get it, You're gonna get it. You're
- 50:03Speaker 1: gonna get it. They know it too. That's the way
- 50:06Speaker 1: it goes down. But I love them all. I love
- 50:08Speaker 1: them all. I'm very before you go, how about them cowboys?
- 50:15Speaker 1: How about them about I told y'all just be patient.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I told you, I told you they would not let you.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Damn when the cow when the light get braided happen
- 50:31Speaker 1: and up it did. That's just the way it goes man,
- 50:35Speaker 1: That's just the way it goes. What they do, what
- 50:39Speaker 1: you know what it is. When I was a little boy,
- 50:41Speaker 1: before the AFC broke off into the NFC, it was
- 50:44Speaker 1: just the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys was in the same
- 50:47Speaker 1: division as the Cleveland Browns, the North Division. I grew
- 50:52Speaker 1: up hating the Cowboys no matter what. So when they
- 50:54Speaker 1: split up and when NFL air failing, the Browns, when
- 50:57Speaker 1: air fail and they went NFC, my hatred for the Cowboys,
- 51:01Speaker 1: it's from childhood. But you're seeing but my hatred. But
- 51:06Speaker 1: I don't hate the Cowboys it's just fan. It's the
- 51:10Speaker 1: fans that I can't. Let me tell you something right now,
- 51:16Speaker 1: The Dallas Cowboys can go one to fifteen. It's in
- 51:18Speaker 1: the book. It's in the book that the Bookboys can
- 51:21Speaker 1: go one to fifteen. They can end this season on
- 51:25Speaker 1: the January fifth at seven pm, by seven fifteen. You know,
- 51:31Speaker 1: we go with the Super Bowl next year? Right, just
- 51:34Speaker 1: what they do, they cannot take. They cannot take this
- 51:38Speaker 1: team minute to smell their own stinch. They are deplorable.
- 51:43Speaker 1: There's nothing worse than a fan than a Cowboys fan.
- 51:47Speaker 1: If a nuclear bomb dropped, three things will survived, rats, roaches,
- 51:51Speaker 1: and a Cowboys fans who okay, And so we understand
- 51:57Speaker 1: that we get it. And so the best thing that
- 52:00Speaker 1: I could possibly do, I have to apologize for that
- 52:03Speaker 1: that Jerry Jones and the Cowboy players, because I don't
- 52:07Speaker 1: bean no ill will towards y'all. But your fans are
- 52:10Speaker 1: so disgusting the misery of you losing that that comes
- 52:16Speaker 1: down upon them. It's so refreshing, It makes just makes
- 52:20Speaker 1: my spirits feel more food. And listen, they wouldn't let me.
- 52:31Speaker 1: I couldn't do what I wanted to do what I
- 52:34Speaker 1: wanted to do, right, was just some palm palms right
- 52:38Speaker 1: and start jamming with the cheerleaders and make Michael Irvin
- 52:41Speaker 1: and Swag Google and cats like that. Put on a
- 52:44Speaker 1: cheerleader outfit in my background. That's what I wanted to do.
- 52:51Speaker 1: He boy, Hey, everybody, the new book out. It's the
- 52:55Speaker 1: best seller. You gotta get it. It's called Straight Shooter.
- 52:59Speaker 1: It's a memoir second chances in first Takes. It is
- 53:02Speaker 1: called Straight Shooter. It's available now on all platforms. You
- 53:06Speaker 1: can get it on Amazon, you can get it on Kindle,
- 53:08Speaker 1: you can go to any bookstore. It is out. It
- 53:11Speaker 1: is great reading. Here as I do. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 53:14Speaker 1: put your hands together for the one and only Stephen A. Smith,
- 53:19Speaker 1: one ladding of y'all. It's also available in audible. I
- 53:23Speaker 1: voiced it. I got an audio version as well. You
- 53:26Speaker 1: can go to Apple. And I tried that. I wasn't
- 53:29Speaker 1: good at that. Who get it all? You might be
- 53:34Speaker 1: really good at an audiobook. My audio book failed miserably.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I don't. I can't read that mines right now. Mine
- 53:41Speaker 1: right now is top four. Who look at your Smith,
- 53:48Speaker 1: appreciate you're listening to Steve Morning Show. It is time
- 53:54Speaker 1: now for today's Strawberry Letter, and if you need advice
- 53:57Speaker 1: on relationships, work, sex, parenting, and more, please submit your
- 54:01Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter to STRVFM dot com. We could be reading
- 54:04Speaker 1: your letter live on the air, just like we're going
- 54:07Speaker 1: to read this one right here, right now, and you
- 54:10Speaker 1: never know, it could be yours. That's right, all right,
- 54:14Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the Strawberry Litter. My
- 54:16Speaker 1: good friend, Shirley Strawberry, thank you, my good friend. Junior subject,
- 54:20Speaker 1: she said, he said, She said, Dear Stephen, Shirley. I'm
- 54:24Speaker 1: twenty nine years old and my boyfriend is twenty eight.
- 54:28Speaker 1: We have been together for four years and everything is
- 54:30Speaker 1: great with us until he starts drinking when he's around
- 54:34Speaker 1: his best friend, and his best friend's girlfriend is his
- 54:38Speaker 1: drinking gets crazy. She is almost always the only female
- 54:42Speaker 1: in the group when they hang out, so it's not
- 54:44Speaker 1: a shocker when the rumors surface that her boyfriend was
- 54:47Speaker 1: setting her out to his friends. I asked my boyfriend
- 54:51Speaker 1: about it, and he said it was a lie because
- 54:53Speaker 1: none of them want her. I don't put anything past
- 54:56Speaker 1: a man, especially a drunk man. So fast forward to
- 55:00Speaker 1: Friday night when my boyfriend told me he was going
- 55:03Speaker 1: to hang out with his best friend. He took my
- 55:06Speaker 1: car because his car needed gas. I woke up at
- 55:09Speaker 1: three am and my car and my man were still gone.
- 55:14Speaker 1: I called him and his phone went straight to voicemail.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I called his best friend and his phone went straight
- 55:19Speaker 1: to voicemail, too, so I got worried. I decided to
- 55:23Speaker 1: go over to his best friend's apartment. I had to
- 55:26Speaker 1: drive the car that was on e and it made
- 55:29Speaker 1: me mad that he's so trifling. The girlfriend opened the
- 55:33Speaker 1: door and was surprised to see me. My boyfriend was
- 55:36Speaker 1: passed out on the couch, so I pushed my way in.
- 55:40Speaker 1: The best friend wasn't home unless he was hiding in
- 55:43Speaker 1: a closet. I woke my boyfriend up and scared the
- 55:46Speaker 1: mess out of him. He and the girl started stuttering.
- 55:49Speaker 1: When I asked what was going on and where his
- 55:52Speaker 1: friend was, all I got was a bunch of he said,
- 55:55Speaker 1: she said, he said, And my man still has not
- 55:58Speaker 1: told me why he was there alone with her. It
- 56:02Speaker 1: didn't look like they had sex, but I have a
- 56:05Speaker 1: very bad feeling about it. She's not an attractive girl
- 56:09Speaker 1: at all, but she's still a woman. Should I trust
- 56:12Speaker 1: my intuition or trust my man, what do you think? Okay,
- 56:23Speaker 1: you already know the answer to that. You've got to
- 56:25Speaker 1: trust yourself. You gotta trust your intuition. If you're still
- 56:29Speaker 1: in doubt, trust your eyes. Your man of four years
- 56:32Speaker 1: was over his best friend's house alone with his best
- 56:36Speaker 1: friends supposed girlfriend who you said, there's a rumor out
- 56:40Speaker 1: that he's setting her out to his friends, which means
- 56:45Speaker 1: I guess that you know she can be with one
- 56:48Speaker 1: of his friends if she chooses, or if they want
- 56:51Speaker 1: her or something. It was three o'clock in the morning,
- 56:54Speaker 1: and this girlfriend was shocked that it was you when
- 56:57Speaker 1: she opened the door. Your man was knocked out on
- 56:59Speaker 1: the couch. And they never gave you a straight answer
- 57:02Speaker 1: as to what they were doing alone there together. You
- 57:06Speaker 1: said they started stuttering when you asked, so, I mean,
- 57:09Speaker 1: was he drinking too much and passed out? Was he
- 57:12Speaker 1: passed out because they had had sex? Now, normally all
- 57:15Speaker 1: of that stuttering and stuff would make them look guilty
- 57:18Speaker 1: as heck. But here's the interesting thing you said out
- 57:22Speaker 1: of your mouth. It didn't look like they had sex,
- 57:25Speaker 1: but you said that you had a very bad feeling
- 57:28Speaker 1: about it. So this is where you have to trust
- 57:31Speaker 1: yourself and your intuition. Just because you didn't catch them
- 57:34Speaker 1: in the act doesn't mean nothing happen. And did his
- 57:38Speaker 1: best friend ever come back? Where was he? Does he
- 57:40Speaker 1: know what happened? Anyway? You know your man and you
- 57:44Speaker 1: know what happens when he drinks. So even though you
- 57:47Speaker 1: have no physical evidence, he still hasn't told you what
- 57:51Speaker 1: exactly went down, which means he's not even trying to
- 57:54Speaker 1: fix it at this point. So please don't let him
- 57:57Speaker 1: get away with this. I mean, after four years, you
- 57:59Speaker 1: deserve way more respect than this. All right, Steve, there's
- 58:05Speaker 1: letters like bees Day created who I am? Oh? Yes,
- 58:11Speaker 1: you know some of my strawberry letter reactions is classics,
- 58:16Speaker 1: some legendary moments, and h think I'll provide another one.
- 58:22Speaker 1: I see into this letter so many things. First of all,
- 58:25Speaker 1: I want to thank Shirley wonderful response. Yeah, but there's
- 58:32Speaker 1: a few things I noticed in this letter. She said,
- 58:36Speaker 1: he said, She said, they ain't even really what the
- 58:38Speaker 1: letters about. You're twenty nine years old, You got twenty
- 58:41Speaker 1: eight year old boyfriend. Y'all been together four years, Everything
- 58:45Speaker 1: cool till they started drinking. Oh don't we know that's truth?
- 58:49Speaker 1: We all have someone in my life that once they
- 58:52Speaker 1: started drinking, they are not the same. I stopped hanging
- 58:55Speaker 1: with those people a long time ago because used me
- 58:58Speaker 1: the people that they turned into and somebody I don't like,
- 59:01Speaker 1: So I get rid of the person I like and
- 59:03Speaker 1: don't like all at the same time, because guess what,
- 59:05Speaker 1: they're the same damn people. I can't run the risk
- 59:08Speaker 1: of being nowhere and you're getting the drink. I don't
- 59:10Speaker 1: know nothing about them. When you come back over to
- 59:12Speaker 1: the damn table, you knew, so I can't take that.
- 59:15Speaker 1: I gets rid of them people because I don't like
- 59:17Speaker 1: to change. Well, they always hang out together and to
- 59:22Speaker 1: get crazy. Now, the whole thing about your best friend
- 59:25Speaker 1: is her best friend's girlfriend is always there in the group,
- 59:28Speaker 1: and she's almost always the only female in the group
- 59:31Speaker 1: when they hang out. We're gonna get into why that
- 59:34Speaker 1: is it just a second, so it's not a shocker.
- 59:37Speaker 1: When the rumors surfing that her boyfriend was setting her
- 59:39Speaker 1: out to his friend, I asked my boyfriend about it.
- 59:43Speaker 1: He said it was a lie because none of them
- 59:46Speaker 1: won't hut man, that's stop this right, don't nobody won't
- 59:50Speaker 1: huh nobody? Why she the girlfriend, if you're his best friend,
- 59:58Speaker 1: got her as a girlfriend. That proves that somebody won'ta
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: And it's a lot more of him out there than
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: you know of. And birds of a feather, I say,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: birds of a feather flocked again, flock hello, you know.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: And when you start drinking. I've seen men, fine, anybody
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: attractive on Steve being drinking, so that's not true. I
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: get back into it when we come in here we're
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: talking about and I have some most stunning information for
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: you when we return. All right, Steve, Part two of
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: your response is coming up at twenty three minutes after
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: the hour Today's Strawberry Letter. Subject she said, He said,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: She said, we'll get back into it right after this.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Morning Show. All right, come on, Steve,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: let's recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject she said. He said,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: She said, Well, this later ain't really about no gossiping
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: or nothing. This is about a rumor that's out about
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: this couple that's been married for four years, twenty eight,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: twenty nine years old. They've been together, not married, and
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: they got a best friend that he hangs out with
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: with his girlfriend. When they get drunk, things get crazy
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: and the girl that hangs out with him is always
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: the only girl in the group. And that's why rumors
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: started that the boyfriend was, you know, setting to her
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: friends up, setting all his friends up with her on
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: the side. I asked my boyfriend about it. He said
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: it was a lie because none of them won't her?
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: How that sound? She is available being set out? And
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: don't know, body, boy? How that? How did that sound?
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I am of the male species. That don't even sound
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: right to me. I don't put anything past a man. Well, well,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: what to hear you type that line for, especially a
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: drunk man. So fast forward to Friday night. My boyfriend
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: told me he was going to hang out with his
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: best friend. He took my car because his car needed gas.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I woke up three am. My m a man wasn't
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: never still going. I called him in his phone when
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: straight the voicemail. I called his best friend in his
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: phone when straight the voicemail too. So I got wearied.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: That is a damn lie, she said. I called a voicemail,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: he didn't ask. I call he he didn't answer, So
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I got wearied. That ain't what this he is, y'all.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: She didn't get wearied. She got suspicious. Suspicion and wearied
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: is two two different things. See, wearied is when you
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: wondering if somebody okay, suspicion is this food? Better not
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: be doing what I think he's doing. He's up to something.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: You decided to go over to the best friend department.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: You had to drive the car that was only and
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: it made me man because he's so triful. You get
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: over there, the girlfriend, the one don't nobody won't or
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: just opened. The girlfriend standing there just just looking like
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Morgan Freeman. Ah, yes, don't bring my brew into it.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: A woman look like Morgan Freeman. Yeah, that's the only
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: thing I can think of. Ye, So Morganna Freeman opens
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: the Moganna opens the door, and she was surprised to
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: see you, because let me tell you something about ugly people.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: You want to see however they really are. Three am
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: is the hour. Three a m. Is the hour you
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: really had any doubts about a person being ugly? Three
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: a m. Tell it all. Ain't nobody looking fresh and fly?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Three am? The board was passed out on the couch,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: so I pushed my way in. The best friend wasn't
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: home unless he was hiding in the clothes. I woke
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: my boyfriend up, scared the mess out of him. Here
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: the girl started stuttering. See, I used to stutter, so
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I know what they did that. We got it? You doing? Hell,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: we know it's stuttering. Stuttering gives you time to buy
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: a lie time. He and his girl started studying. I
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: asked what was going on and where his friend was.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: All I got was a bunch of he said. She said,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: my man Steele has not told me why he was
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: there with her alone. He ain't told you. Well, let
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: me let me let me ask you something. Then she said,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: it didn't look like they'd had sex. What the hell
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: do that look like? She said that they didn't look
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: like they had just had sex. What does that look like? Girl?
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I'm sixty six. I've had every look you can have
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: before and after six, and there's a whole lot of
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: different looks you. It just ain't no way. I don't
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: even know what. They don't look like they had six,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: depending on how long ago it was. Because I have
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: sex and put my clothes back on and lay down
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: because I'm drunk, I ain't gonna look like I had sex.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: But I had left that alone for you. I've had sex.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: And actually looked like I had been running a marathon. Different.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: I've had sex and looked like I got shot in
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: the chest. I've had sex and it looked like I
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: was cold. Yeah, I've had sex, balled up in the
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: fetal position in the corner, sucking my thumb. So, Hollywood,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: look like when you don't have six I've had sex
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and been in my car with the window road down.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I had my head hanging out, just trying to survive
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: with it. Just happened to me back in there. So
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: what are you talking about? Anyway? Very bad feeling about it. Now,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: he go to key, she's not an attractive girl. I
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: told you that at three o'clock in the morning. I
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: told you that. I told you that she is not
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: an attractive girl. What the hell that got to do
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: with it? Anyway? But she's still a woman. Should I
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: trust my intuition or trust my man? Here's the question.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Why is a rumor started that he's passing his girl
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: out amongst her friends? Why did that rumor get started?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Why is that a rumor? And how much does that cost?
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Trust your intuition? Yeah, because I can't save dog on
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: this one. You're in the room with an ugly ad
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: woman at three o'clock in the Morning's down, All right,

- 1:08:52Speaker 1: you know Bengals was over the Bills the week before,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: and then told you what's gonna have not said that Chiefs?
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Is I want to the Jaguars And yeah, I told
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: you that was gonna happen too. He told me that
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: was gonna happen. That you had the forty Niners over
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: the Cowboys. I tell you what is I don't know?
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I know, Piper, then you had the Eagles over the

- 1:10:35Speaker 1: after this. By the stage, I mean us. You're listening
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: to the morning show. Yeah, and that voice you're here
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: is unmistakably right. He's in the right a rter the
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: single single and and just I all to have more
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: grammars everybody me you know Roscoe. Um. We had Steven A.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Smith on earlier and I heard yeah he talked about
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: you know, his statement about Rihanna and Beyonce and yeah
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: up yeah, but you know Roscoe sometimes, you know, sometimes
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: a little friendly comparison between singers. It could be fun.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: It could be a lot of fun if it's done respectfully,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Yeah, So let's try it
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: with some performers from back in the day. Let's say, um, so,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: so who would win the battle or just compare them
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: run verses? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, like h for instance, Lenny
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Williams who you love? Uh? And uh Luther for instance,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: a little bit of friend that a little bit on
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: vl care you know, Lenny and my boy I know, yes, yes, y,

- 1:12:18Speaker 1: ever heard you, Linari, it's Luke all the way, even
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: though my love for Lenny is true and genuine and
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: all like that. This beautiful thing go ahead. Okay, what
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: about let's say Johnny Mathis Johnny Mathis, Remember Johnny Mathis
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: of course, uh huh, and like uh Pebo Bryson. Let's say, well,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: see now we're talking about two different styles. Johnny Mathews
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: was more you known, hear the white people love him
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: and everything Johnny Mathem was all this shing and white
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: people in the crowd, even wh white coach people because

- 1:13:08Speaker 1: White people don't write duds like that because they don't
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: feel five. Okay, Isaac Haye something that had you told me? Okay, yeah,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: all that's black. Yeah, okay, two black Johnny, Okay, next up,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: let's go Isaac Hayes and Teddy Pendergrass see you hot
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: soldat black Moleses. Yeah you understand, you know, as like
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: talking about Michael Jordan Lebron Jan. You don't want work
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: through right here. It's hard to be that instructional thing
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: in Okay, what from from Teddy? What you know that
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: there's commands that you having a man, they pass our

- 1:14:26Speaker 1: come on, oh something rom with me, boy. I'm very white.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: I got to go with Barry though, because Barry had
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: that white gold album to call it Paul Eddie, let Richie,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: you hurt my soul right here. Of course I have
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: friendship with both of me is a Lino just got

- 1:17:56Speaker 1: to look at it, unky is we can still smoke

- 1:21:37Speaker 1: this week, sir, Yeah, mister Harvey, it's been interesting. You know, um,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: I guess my clothes remarks it down. I want to
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: encourage people to do something. Uh, try to remember this, y'all.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Whoever you are, try to remember that Guy uniquely made
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: you who you are. You are so unique that in
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: all the people in this world, the billions of people
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: that live in this world, the billions of people who
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: have passed from this world, all of those people have
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: a different fingerprint. No two fingerprints are the same. That
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: was designed by God. God designed it this way because
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: he knew that each one of us was going to
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: be uniquely who he created us to be. Your path
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: will never be exactly the way somebody else path was.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Your story will never be exactly the way someone else
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: story is. Your results may not be exactly what anybody
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: else's is because we're all on very very different paths. Now.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: There may be similarities along the way. Granted, I know
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: that now some principles of success that you have to
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: adhere to if you want to be successful, but the
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: route the way is very different. Now. In the fact
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: that God made you uniquely who you are, I want
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: you to hold on to something, stay authentically you. Now,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: some people take that information the wrong way. I'm gonna
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: be me, if I'm gonna be If you don't like me,
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: don't deal with me. If you don't accept me the
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: way I am, don't accept me. Listen to what I'm saying.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: Be authentically you, but make sure you are always trying
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: to improve that authentic self that you call you. That's
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: the key. See, some people take that advice the wrong way.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: This how I am. Take it or leave it. No, No,
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: that's not how it works. You should always be trying
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: to improve on yourself. Something and everybody changes. Change is inevitable,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: but you can change for the better. You don't have
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: to choose to stay the same. And then if you
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: keep doing what you've been doing, you're gonna keep getting
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: what you've been getting. You have to growing change. But
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: in this what I'm saying by saying, state authentically who
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: you are. Don't let nobody make you or talk you
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: into something or somebody that you're not. If you're uncomfortable
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: with this or that, that's okay. You don't have to
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: be comfortable with it because they say you ought to
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: try this. You don't have to try something to know
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: it ain't good for you. How you know you ain't
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: gonna like it? You ain't never tried it. You know
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: how many times they've been saying that to me about dope.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: You know how many times I live my life? How
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: you know unless you ain't never try it. You don't
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: have to try everything to know it's not for you
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: be authentically who you are. I'm just using dope as
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: an example. It could be anything else. Hey, we're going
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: down here tonight. I don't like down that. Oh Man,
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: say you ain't gonna go down here? You ain't not
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: go I don't like down now. So guess what, you
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: don't have to go down there eventually? Do you know
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: that people will come to respect you if you stay
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: authentically who you are. But if you try to accommodate everybody,
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: if you try to please everybody, can I tell you something,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: You're gonna ever be true to yourself. And that's a
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: miserable life. Man, do you know what it's like to
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: adapt everybody around you? You know? I have a lot
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: of people around me all the time, Employees, associates, TV, people,
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: of people work in the business, people I'll do business
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: deals with. If I just it to each one of
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: those people to accommodate them, I would be a miserable soul.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: So what I do is I stay authentically me. Now
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: I've had to improve that need. Now, I'm like a
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: difficult person, so I've had to work on some of
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: my difficult moments. I ain't got rid of all of them,
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: but some of them I try to push that difficult
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: side of me to the side so I can be
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: a little bit more accommodating, to move the business forward,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: to move the relationship floor forward, just to keep it going.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I will challenge you in a heartbeat, and if it
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: don't fit what I do, man, I really don't care.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: But sometimes, Steve, you have to accommodate people in order
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: for the bigger picture or the bigger will to roll
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: down the hill. You can't stay stuck on stupid. You
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: can't stay stuck on you. You can improve yourself in
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: a way where you become more accommodated. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: But if I adjusted to everybody, I'd be a lunatic.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't know what to do. I stand for things,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: and I don't let nobody talk me off of what
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: I stand. I don't do drugs. You do drugs, That's fine.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: A lot of my friends do drugs. I ain't got
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: no problem with man do drugs. I got that, but
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: don't come here I'm not talking about hard drugs. I'm
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: just talking about like, well, I don't care how you
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: feel about me whatever. I got a lot of friends,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: do a lot of stuff. We steal friends, but when
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: you bring it over here to me, it ain't what
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: I do. Now, you love me for that. That's who
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: I am. That's authentically me. We've grown into a friendship
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: in his last of years. Like that, be authentically who
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: you are. Car made you that way. Okay, you ain't
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: got to apologize for you, but you do need to
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: improve you from time to time. Those are my clothes remarks.
