- 1:42Speaker 1: the turn you lovey got to turn out to turn
- 1:46Speaker 1: the water the water. Come, come on your back at it.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I shall well good minded everybody you're listening to the voice,
- 2:06Speaker 1: Come on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey,
- 2:10Speaker 1: I got a radio show. Sometimes you wake up and
- 2:15Speaker 1: you're not feeling your best. The reason I'm talking about
- 2:18Speaker 1: this today is because today it is one of those
- 2:21Speaker 1: days for me. You know, you can stay positive, and
- 2:25Speaker 1: I'm a very very positive person. Now I'm turning it
- 2:29Speaker 1: around as I speak to you because I've learned a
- 2:32Speaker 1: trick in my life. I've learned a self motivating tool
- 2:38Speaker 1: that I use and I'm gonna share it with you today.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So if you wake up and you're not quite feeling
- 2:43Speaker 1: yourself that day, as is the case with me today,
- 2:47Speaker 1: if you wake up and you just you know, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: know what the old saying, you just woke up on
- 2:51Speaker 1: the wrong side of the bed, that type of thing.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You haven't one of those days. Here's what I do,
- 2:55Speaker 1: Here's what I've already began to do to turn the
- 2:58Speaker 1: ship around for me. Whenever I'm having one of those
- 3:02Speaker 1: moments where I'm not on point, don't feel all, something
- 3:05Speaker 1: seems a little I'll center I immediately immediately, and and
- 3:09Speaker 1: and and I ain't I'm I'm not kidding you. I'm
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'm in the process of doing it right now. I
- 3:14Speaker 1: immediately start thinking of all the little things, all the
- 3:19Speaker 1: little things that I have that I can be grateful for.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And I start with the fact that the reason I
- 3:25Speaker 1: had to get up this morning. See, the reason I
- 3:28Speaker 1: had to get up this morning was because of you know,
- 3:33Speaker 1: the work I do, the job I have. Now, you
- 3:38Speaker 1: may not have a job that you're in love with
- 3:40Speaker 1: like I'm in love with mine. But let me ask
- 3:43Speaker 1: you this right here, suppose you didn't have that job.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Oh man, how would today be? But you could sleep
- 3:50Speaker 1: in a little bit longer, But when you woke up, man,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you'd have to be faced with cold realization that hey, man,
- 3:55Speaker 1: I ain't working. Man, I ain't. I ain't making it
- 3:58Speaker 1: happen for me and mine. I'm not getting it done.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And so with that in mind, I immediately I started
- 4:07Speaker 1: showing some gratitude for waking up and man, just having
- 4:12Speaker 1: having having worked to go do. And then I started
- 4:16Speaker 1: telling myself that, man, he didn't have to do it,
- 4:19Speaker 1: but he did. He woke me up this morning, that
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm up, I'm actually able, that I'm here again, that
- 4:26Speaker 1: that he ain't through with me yet, that there's really
- 4:28Speaker 1: still things for me to do. Man, Okay, cool, I'm
- 4:32Speaker 1: on point with that. I'm on point with that. And
- 4:34Speaker 1: then I just started going over the little things. Man.
- 4:37Speaker 1: You know, my coffee machine wasn't working this morning. I said, Man,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I've been down. I've been fittling with that coffee machine,
- 4:44Speaker 1: trying to get it to work. You know, I couldn't
- 4:46Speaker 1: get it to work. I called somebody, you know, I
- 4:50Speaker 1: get some coffee. It's okay. The ain't the end of
- 4:51Speaker 1: the world, you know, And I was I started thinking about, man,
- 4:55Speaker 1: that I have a place that I can go to
- 4:58Speaker 1: once a year. That's beautiful. And I started thinking about,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know, man, look I got a place that I
- 5:03Speaker 1: laid my head, that's mine. I mean, you know, as
- 5:06Speaker 1: my father in law once told me, when somebody came
- 5:10Speaker 1: to see about him and his house was inside his
- 5:12Speaker 1: house talking to him crazy the police, he said, listen
- 5:15Speaker 1: to me, he said, this is my house. He says,
- 5:17Speaker 1: as mega as it may be, this is my house,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and I'm the king of this castle right here. However, meaga,
- 5:27Speaker 1: it may be, this is mine. And you know, when
- 5:31Speaker 1: you start looking at stuff in terms like that, man,
- 5:34Speaker 1: I mean, for me, it's just a trick. I use.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I started feeling better. I started looking around, man, I
- 5:39Speaker 1: started thinking about man, I had I got something to
- 5:41Speaker 1: wear today. You know. I started looking at little stuff. Man,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna have some eggs later on today. I started
- 5:47Speaker 1: looking at other stuff. Somebody is hungry today. See somebody,
- 5:50Speaker 1: somebody don't don't really have an option of knowing what
- 5:53Speaker 1: they're going to have today. I actually have a refrigerator
- 5:57Speaker 1: with an option in it. You know. I started looking
- 5:59Speaker 1: at the little things man, that God has done for me,
- 6:02Speaker 1: the little things is in my life. And I started
- 6:04Speaker 1: picking myself up. Man. I started feeling a whole lot
- 6:07Speaker 1: better about myself. And see, the more I started telling
- 6:09Speaker 1: it to you right now, the better I'm starting to feel,
- 6:12Speaker 1: because man, is you can you know? I mean, look,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I mean listen to my voice. My my energy is
- 6:16Speaker 1: picking up, my pace is picking up, because now I
- 6:19Speaker 1: didn't hear out of out of hit my rhythm. I'm up.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm glad, I'm up. I'm grateful to be here. I'm glad.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I got a family. I'm glad. God didn't kept my kids.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Glad God kept my wife. You know, I'm glad. You know,
- 6:30Speaker 1: whoever you are, whatever your situation is, God didn't kept
- 6:33Speaker 1: somebody for you on your behalf. That's a benefit to
- 6:37Speaker 1: you or somebody you're trying to teach something they may
- 6:40Speaker 1: finally get it today, or something you've been trying to know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: you may finally know it today. But you got to
- 6:47Speaker 1: accept the blessing of what it is that you know now, Okay.
- 6:51Speaker 1: You know, see, if you've been looking for an answer,
- 6:54Speaker 1: a solution to a problem, and then the solution come,
- 6:58Speaker 1: you know you got to be grateful for it. You know,
- 7:01Speaker 1: Lord helped me with this relationship. Maybe today is to
- 7:03Speaker 1: day you find out that that's been the toxin and
- 7:05Speaker 1: the poison in your life, that that relationship is what's wrong. See,
- 7:10Speaker 1: but because we want to hang on to it, oh,
- 7:13Speaker 1: we try to make it go against everything that was
- 7:16Speaker 1: in us. Now we got this toxic poison in our life.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You know, you may find out today that that's it
- 7:24Speaker 1: that you need to move on. Well, you know, something
- 7:27Speaker 1: that ain't the most devastating thing you could find out.
- 7:30Speaker 1: There's a blessing and a lot of things that that
- 7:32Speaker 1: that looks painful at times. You know, I said that
- 7:35Speaker 1: at best one time, I said, you know, sometimes the
- 7:38Speaker 1: breakup is the blessing for a lot of people, it is, man,
- 7:43Speaker 1: because you know, look, man, you know, you know, we
- 7:45Speaker 1: make choices with who we want to be with, and
- 7:47Speaker 1: sometimes you can't pick the wrong person. You know, look,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and they don't make that person the bass. That person
- 7:53Speaker 1: just wasn't good together with you. That's all it is.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And so when you come to that realization, sometimes you
- 7:59Speaker 1: know it is time to move on. You got to
- 8:02Speaker 1: be grateful for all of the little things, man, the
- 8:05Speaker 1: fact that you have a way to get around, the
- 8:08Speaker 1: way that you have the read, that you have some
- 8:10Speaker 1: money to go get on, something to go get around,
- 8:13Speaker 1: that you're in school. It might not be going just
- 8:15Speaker 1: perfect for you. Right now. But guess what you're in school, man,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you got a shot. You're making it happen, you know
- 8:21Speaker 1: what I'm saying, a lot of people don't have that. Man,
- 8:25Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know what the next move is.
- 8:28Speaker 1: At least you're in the process of doing something about it.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And you may not know how to see your way
- 8:33Speaker 1: all the way to the end. But just knowing what
- 8:35Speaker 1: to do what the next step could be for you,
- 8:37Speaker 1: that's good enough. You know. You don't have to know
- 8:39Speaker 1: all the steps. Just what am I gonna do next?
- 8:41Speaker 1: With left? I do this, and I'm gonna take this course,
- 8:44Speaker 1: and I complete this semester, I move on to that semester.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I don't care what it is. Look, man, we just
- 8:49Speaker 1: gotta find something to be grateful about today, because in
- 8:52Speaker 1: your gratitude, God blesses you with more. Sim of God
- 8:56Speaker 1: sees that we're grateful for the things we have, he
- 8:59Speaker 1: gives us more things to be grateful for. It's simply
- 9:02Speaker 1: the law of attraction. If you're thankful and grateful for
- 9:06Speaker 1: the things you have, you will now attract to yourself
- 9:10Speaker 1: more things to be grateful for. It's the law of attraction.
- 9:14Speaker 1: It works in every aspect of your life, not the
- 9:17Speaker 1: fact that you don't know the rule. It does not matter.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So the thing that you want the most of in
- 9:24Speaker 1: your life, it's the thing that you're gonna have to
- 9:26Speaker 1: give the most. The things that the thing that you
- 9:31Speaker 1: hope happens to you the most. It's the thing that
- 9:35Speaker 1: you're gonna have to have happened to others the most. Lord,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I want you to cover me. You're gonna have to
- 9:41Speaker 1: cover some people, but I want you to hear my cry.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You're gonna have to hear some people's cries. But I
- 9:49Speaker 1: want more love in my life. You're gonna have to
- 9:51Speaker 1: love more people. I'm talking about real, real love, and
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm not talking about going out fooling around with somebody.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That's that's ridiculousness. And see here's a well, since I'm
- 10:00Speaker 1: talking about love and wrong love and ridiculousness, here's how
- 10:04Speaker 1: you know that it ain't from God. I want you
- 10:07Speaker 1: to hear me. Then, if God is involved in it,
- 10:10Speaker 1: there is no sin. If there is sin involved in
- 10:16Speaker 1: it is not from God. Just remember that rule. It
- 10:21Speaker 1: took me a long time learned that one. You know
- 10:24Speaker 1: what the Bible says doing tell us that you would
- 10:26Speaker 1: have them do it when they did it to me,
- 10:28Speaker 1: so they must want it done to them. I'm gonna
- 10:30Speaker 1: go down here, I'm gonna do this. If what you're
- 10:32Speaker 1: going to do is a sin, you have now twisted
- 10:36Speaker 1: a Bible verse to fit your method or what you
- 10:38Speaker 1: want to do to No, simply know that if it's
- 10:42Speaker 1: God's voice just talking to you, or something that's going on,
- 10:45Speaker 1: is in it. Bishop Oldman talked this to me. The
- 10:48Speaker 1: God's voice and God's methods always has no sin in it.
- 10:53Speaker 1: That you all right, have a great day, everybody. You're listening,
- 11:01Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, people all around the world.
- 11:04Speaker 1: You're listening to the brand new Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It's the two thousand and eighteen edition. Baby, were brand
- 11:10Speaker 1: new because we're gonna be even more positive, even more enlightening,
- 11:15Speaker 1: and even more ignorant. All this just more in two
- 11:19Speaker 1: thousand eighteen. Good morning ship, good morning. Uh, you ain't
- 11:25Speaker 1: gonna do that. Good morning comming, good morning. You don't
- 11:29Speaker 1: bring this off air drama. Nobody you already don't nobody
- 11:34Speaker 1: know you mad at me. We just started. I'm thinking
- 11:37Speaker 1: of you already when we just met. The new dude,
- 11:41Speaker 1: juniort coming tom your saw top of the morning. Yeah,
- 11:50Speaker 1: and and Tommy is the new Tommy. In two thousand
- 11:53Speaker 1: and eighteen, I got a text from Tommy. I can't
- 11:55Speaker 1: tell you what it was, but Tommy has changed this year.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I don't know what happened, Temmy, what happened over the holiday?
- 12:02Speaker 1: What bought about this eight days? Then? I mean it's
- 12:05Speaker 1: a new Timmy. He's forgiving, forgiving, Yes, he's what happened.
- 12:18Speaker 1: A new attitude, that's all. Just a new attitude, just
- 12:22Speaker 1: just thinking a little different, that's all. Well, tell me,
- 12:24Speaker 1: does that mean you're gonna let stuff go? Now? You're
- 12:26Speaker 1: not gonna hold on this stuff? Yeah? I was talking
- 12:30Speaker 1: to him by letting something go? Yeah? Me, not him. Me. Now,
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm sure somewhere this here hes gonna be trying to
- 12:38Speaker 1: get me to let something go. So we're just gonna
- 12:41Speaker 1: take it day by day. But that's the that's the goal.
- 12:43Speaker 1: The goal is to let Tommy small thing jor talk
- 12:47Speaker 1: about predictions. Keep the ladies out of this, because you know,
- 12:49Speaker 1: surely she tightened up if you ask anything. All right, junior,
- 12:55Speaker 1: what is your financial prediction for two thousand and eighteen
- 13:00Speaker 1: million dollars. All right, million dollars, Tommy, what's your financial
- 13:05Speaker 1: prediction for two thousand late? I got to get over
- 13:10Speaker 1: that two point five million dollar? Yeah, what is you at?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Two point four? Well, that's the goal, listen, it's the
- 13:23Speaker 1: bank that much, you know, on top of what. I
- 13:25Speaker 1: got to get to two point five safe safe, say
- 13:30Speaker 1: say save and say someone and keep working like crazy. Yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 1: If I say I want to make an I mean
- 13:38Speaker 1: generate a million dollars. That's a. That's a great goal, brother,
- 13:42Speaker 1: that's a that's a fabulous goal. I want to generate
- 13:45Speaker 1: a million dollars of an. Absolutely, that's a great goal.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I did pretty good last I know you did. Yeah,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I'll pay you two big, don't know ye. When we
- 14:07Speaker 1: come back, we'll talk about two thousand eighteen predictions. I'm assuming, okay,
- 14:12Speaker 1: I want to hear yours. So yeah, I'll give you
- 14:15Speaker 1: mad I could give you man now, but no, no,
- 14:17Speaker 1: I want to wait on that. I like to wait
- 14:19Speaker 1: on that because that's gonna be big, big, because because see,
- 14:23Speaker 1: we gotta know where you are. You see what I'm saying,
- 14:28Speaker 1: to know where you're going, that's gonna I thought when
- 14:31Speaker 1: he when he first said that that did with me,
- 14:33Speaker 1: him and Junior talking. I thought he said that. All right,
- 14:36Speaker 1: coming up, Junior, Truth be Told in two thousand eighteen
- 14:39Speaker 1: predictions thirty two after we'll be back. You're listening to
- 14:43Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, here we go, time
- 14:46Speaker 1: for something funny. We talked about two thousand eighteen predictions.
- 14:49Speaker 1: We're gonna do that, and of course we have to
- 14:51Speaker 1: hear from Junior with his Truth be Told. I'm listen.
- 14:55Speaker 1: This year, I just want before we get into the predictions,
- 14:58Speaker 1: this is something that goes right along with that because
- 15:01Speaker 1: I know some people, the people that I talked to
- 15:03Speaker 1: most of the time, or people who are trying to
- 15:05Speaker 1: do better, Um, they fail at the same resolution every year,
- 15:09Speaker 1: year after the year of the year. And this year,
- 15:12Speaker 1: let's just try something different. Let's have resolutions of eight
- 15:17Speaker 1: resolutions of eight stead are you trying to lose all
- 15:21Speaker 1: the way? Just lose a pounds? Okay, of eight resolutions
- 15:26Speaker 1: of if you're trying to get just get a show
- 15:33Speaker 1: that one app just get because you've been trying, you
- 15:37Speaker 1: ain't getting on them. So just cut a hold in
- 15:39Speaker 1: the shirt right there with that one right there where
- 15:41Speaker 1: that is just cut it right there, you know, like
- 15:44Speaker 1: if you ain't getting all your teeth, just get up
- 15:46Speaker 1: to yeah, a clean one one clean stop to show that.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Just get that way white, lean your head to the
- 15:56Speaker 1: left and let us see that. That's all okay? Like
- 16:00Speaker 1: you you you ain't you've been hoping to get a
- 16:02Speaker 1: call for ten years. You ain't got the car. Okay,
- 16:05Speaker 1: let's get a skate, a skateboard, one skate, an inline skate,
- 16:11Speaker 1: just something to get you back and forth. I see
- 16:13Speaker 1: where you're going with this. You have to start somewhere,
- 16:15Speaker 1: is what. You don't set your goal so hot, if
- 16:20Speaker 1: you've been reaching for the same goal over and over
- 16:22Speaker 1: and over, to start with the resolution of eight, that's
- 16:26Speaker 1: all right. You have to start somewhere. Yeah, if you
- 16:29Speaker 1: ain't made no money last ten years, start with a dollar.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Get you started. That's all we got to get you.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I don't know with your sell Bubba gum cupcakes, is
- 16:40Speaker 1: good cookies, lemonade. Just get a dollar because we're not
- 16:44Speaker 1: gonna listen to you this year. Okay, resolution of eight.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I thought of that. I think that's gonna help a
- 16:50Speaker 1: lot of people. That's deep. I like that. I'm gonna
- 16:53Speaker 1: get that amp though I'm gonna get you. That's how
- 16:56Speaker 1: you're gonna do it. By running to do it, You're
- 16:59Speaker 1: gonna have another rate. Hey, I gave you a day.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I said nothing yesterday nothing. So today is an open game. Yes,
- 17:14Speaker 1: we're back at work. Yeah, today we were just you know,
- 17:17Speaker 1: getting reacclimating. Keep is that a threat to me? Keep on?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Keeps every time my mom and said it to me
- 17:29Speaker 1: that he's scared. Okay, not open here facing opportunities, facing opportunity,
- 17:41Speaker 1: feeling froggy. Let's play, let's playground talk right, he loves
- 17:46Speaker 1: mess that will never chance. Yeah, knock this off my
- 17:52Speaker 1: shoulder right here. Uh, keep looking on day on this show, Steve,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I can tell you that I'm here for it. Yes,
- 18:05Speaker 1: you are for the mess. All right? So now the
- 18:08Speaker 1: two eighteen predictions you were going to tell us you're
- 18:11Speaker 1: Steve for what? Yes, the guys last bird. Yeahs. My
- 18:21Speaker 1: goal is just straightened my company out. I'm going through
- 18:24Speaker 1: reorganization period right now. I'm in a hiring phase. Does
- 18:31Speaker 1: that mean you're in the firing frame Because in hard
- 18:33Speaker 1: of the high I have to expand, expanding, expanding, So
- 18:38Speaker 1: I'm looking for top qualified people to feel certain positions
- 18:43Speaker 1: I am no longer. I've decided in two thousand eighteen
- 18:47Speaker 1: that I am not going to be listening to people
- 18:50Speaker 1: who have repeatedly given me false promises and hopes and
- 18:55Speaker 1: have fulfilled none of them. I will not be taking
- 18:59Speaker 1: those people into two thousand eighteen. You are officially off
- 19:04Speaker 1: the wagon. So I will not be taking anyone into
- 19:09Speaker 1: two thousand eighteen that did not carry their weight or
- 19:13Speaker 1: perform their duties in two thousand seventeen, I am through
- 19:18Speaker 1: with to give you a chance business, and then all
- 19:22Speaker 1: you do is take advantage of the chance. I'm out
- 19:25Speaker 1: of that business. I'm out of that. You got to
- 19:30Speaker 1: keep it real and hire a certain person business. I
- 19:33Speaker 1: am from now on only hiring top notch qualified people,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and I don't care who they are. Business. That's well,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I mean, you have to do certain things in order
- 19:47Speaker 1: to be a successful business person. So all dead weight,
- 19:53Speaker 1: because all it all dead weight does, folks, It's just
- 19:56Speaker 1: slows you down. It inhibits you from your growth. Now
- 20:00Speaker 1: in your efforts to be a decent person, caring and
- 20:04Speaker 1: trying to provide opportunities that ain't your job. You provide
- 20:09Speaker 1: opportunities to interns. Once you pay a person and you
- 20:13Speaker 1: give a person a check, that person owes you something
- 20:17Speaker 1: in return for the check. Now, if your check just
- 20:20Speaker 1: going out and you're getting nothing in return, you should
- 20:23Speaker 1: stop sitting in that check out. You have a carry
- 20:26Speaker 1: dead Wait, oh, a dog time? I I mean, I
- 20:31Speaker 1: mean like like like my son is six and he
- 20:33Speaker 1: falls sleeping my bed and I gotta pick him up
- 20:35Speaker 1: and came up there. That's dead weight. Do you're not heavy?
- 20:38Speaker 1: That is right to carry dead weight. But see the
- 20:43Speaker 1: and you I understand analogy you're making. The cool thing
- 20:46Speaker 1: about him your son is you feel an obligation to
- 20:49Speaker 1: your son because your son didn't ask to be here,
- 20:52Speaker 1: and you his father. So it's six. You don't mind
- 20:55Speaker 1: that dead, But you're talking about other people grown it's
- 20:59Speaker 1: when you have a fellow grown up who just want
- 21:03Speaker 1: to lay limp in your own and you gotta carry
- 21:06Speaker 1: them everywhere you go, And and that right there is disturbing.
- 21:10Speaker 1: And it's not only if you're paying a person that
- 21:13Speaker 1: goes the same way. We're gonna continue to conversation the
- 21:17Speaker 1: next break. This goes the same way in two thousand eighteen.
- 21:22Speaker 1: If you're carrying a friendship, that is only one way.
- 21:27Speaker 1: When you're doing all the friendly and all they do
- 21:32Speaker 1: is sitting on the ship. You're the only friend in
- 21:35Speaker 1: the relationship. You should cut those friends out. One sided
- 21:40Speaker 1: friendships should end. In two thousand and eighteen. We'll continue
- 21:44Speaker 1: this conversation when we come back. Yeah, all right, two
- 21:51Speaker 1: eighteen predictions. More coming up. You're listening to Steve alright,
- 21:59Speaker 1: coming up of the town of the hour. Miss Anne
- 22:01Speaker 1: will be here to update us with today's national news.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But right now, as promised, we're back. Steve. You were
- 22:07Speaker 1: onto something talking. I have a question for all of you.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna start with you, Carla. Yes, do you have
- 22:14Speaker 1: a person in your life, in some form of relationship
- 22:18Speaker 1: that's in an associate, a friendship, a business person something.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You have a person in your life? And this question
- 22:25Speaker 1: is for everybody, but I'm starting with calling you have
- 22:28Speaker 1: a person in your life who in that relationship you
- 22:32Speaker 1: give more in it than they give continuously, over and
- 22:38Speaker 1: over and over, not anymore. Okay, okay, surely do you
- 22:44Speaker 1: have a person? Absolutely? I do, absolutely, And I've been
- 22:48Speaker 1: you you were really you don't even know it, but
- 22:50Speaker 1: you're really speaking to me this morning. I've been just
- 22:53Speaker 1: toiling over this and toiling over this, but you gave
- 22:56Speaker 1: me my confirmation that I needed today. Junior, do you
- 23:00Speaker 1: have something several Tommy? Do you got them and let
- 23:05Speaker 1: them go? Yes? And let me tell you something, Shirley.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I'm in the same predicament as you because I still
- 23:12Speaker 1: have them and because we as decent people feel an
- 23:16Speaker 1: obligation like you know, you you you, you know, because
- 23:20Speaker 1: everybody looks at us because of our job titles, and
- 23:22Speaker 1: people look at you because your job title that you blessed,
- 23:26Speaker 1: because you got it, you should somehow give it to them.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Whether it's your lifestyle, your business connections, your relationship, your money,
- 23:36Speaker 1: your time, your advice. Well, that's all well and good,
- 23:42Speaker 1: But in return for that, where is your participation in
- 23:49Speaker 1: our friendship, in our association, in our relationship? Where is
- 23:56Speaker 1: your participation? Because I guarantee you almost all of us
- 24:01Speaker 1: have people in our life who we need to shed
- 24:05Speaker 1: and in order to get to the next level, you
- 24:08Speaker 1: have to share these people. And it isn't it doesn't
- 24:11Speaker 1: make you a bad person. Really. You know what Bishop
- 24:15Speaker 1: Jake said one time, Sometimes you have to let a
- 24:18Speaker 1: person go so you can free them into their own destiny.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Because sometimes keep holding on to a person you stopping
- 24:29Speaker 1: them from doing what they really could do if they
- 24:32Speaker 1: weren't just laying in your arms chilling. And I have
- 24:38Speaker 1: let some people go that have really went and found
- 24:41Speaker 1: their way. But then guess what, out of less somebody,
- 24:44Speaker 1: out of less, some people go who found out they
- 24:47Speaker 1: ain't even have a way, and and and and they're
- 24:50Speaker 1: on straight struggle. So that in two thousand and eighteen
- 24:55Speaker 1: is a part of the inventory. If you want your
- 24:57Speaker 1: two thousand eighteen to be better than your two thousand seventeen,
- 25:01Speaker 1: you have to do things differently. Okay, help me out,
- 25:04Speaker 1: Help me out. Did in show me the footsteps of
- 25:13Speaker 1: those people that do need help that I've I've helped
- 25:16Speaker 1: so many times in the past because I'm gonna give
- 25:19Speaker 1: him that's just by nation. So how do I how
- 25:23Speaker 1: do I get to the point where I have to say, Okay,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I can't give you another thousand or another five thousand.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I can't because you know they keep coming back and
- 25:32Speaker 1: I keep having that heart up. All right, I'm gonna hookier. Okay,
- 25:36Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. First of all, it's
- 25:38Speaker 1: this family, No, sometimes it is it's it's it's because
- 25:42Speaker 1: I got more than four or five people that come
- 25:44Speaker 1: at me on. You know what I mean. Guess what
- 25:47Speaker 1: Shirley got that, Junior got that Carla got that. I
- 25:53Speaker 1: have a hunted almost people to come at me. So
- 25:59Speaker 1: here is what I've done. Here's what I've done the
- 26:03Speaker 1: people that I do love, like for example, you may
- 26:06Speaker 1: not have to do this. I'm just telling you what
- 26:08Speaker 1: I do. My family. I'm the youngest one of my siblings.
- 26:12Speaker 1: My oldest brother gone. My other brother he'd be seventy
- 26:16Speaker 1: two this year. My sister eighty two. My other sisters
- 26:21Speaker 1: seventy nine. They old man, and they they ain't had
- 26:26Speaker 1: the the lifestyle I've had. So I take care of
- 26:30Speaker 1: them with with with you know, man, with the check.
- 26:34Speaker 1: But it cut out all of that. You know you
- 26:38Speaker 1: hun't you ask your brother for some money? I know
- 26:40Speaker 1: he got it, cut all that out. Man. You can't
- 26:43Speaker 1: help me out, man, I got man, my man, My
- 26:45Speaker 1: transmission went out, or the furnace went out, the dog,
- 26:50Speaker 1: the garage roof cave did I was here and all listen,
- 26:54Speaker 1: what the hell? And like, I ain't got enough going on?
- 26:57Speaker 1: So what I did was I just cut out a
- 26:58Speaker 1: little supplemental thing, mem and I'll send it to him. No,
- 27:02Speaker 1: guess what now, you ain't got time on Steve ain't this,
- 27:04Speaker 1: and Steve ain't that? He here go your cut. So
- 27:07Speaker 1: that's what I did for them. Now other than that,
- 27:11Speaker 1: let's say you've got some people that always use you
- 27:14Speaker 1: as a loan officer, but then got trouble paying back
- 27:19Speaker 1: the damn loan. Come on here, hit it, hit it.
- 27:24Speaker 1: See I've been at all these levels. So now hear
- 27:26Speaker 1: what you have to do. You have to make a
- 27:28Speaker 1: decision that enough is enough and too much stinks. And
- 27:32Speaker 1: right now y'all have the stink Paul, because how many
- 27:35Speaker 1: times you're gonna come to me? See my number? One
- 27:38Speaker 1: question began what I what I had to learn to
- 27:41Speaker 1: ask myself was if you did not have my number,
- 27:44Speaker 1: what would you do? Yeah, you always say that, you
- 27:47Speaker 1: always say that, that's what you call Listen to me, y'all.
- 27:51Speaker 1: All these emergencies that these people call y'all wit, if
- 27:55Speaker 1: they didn't have your number, what would they do? Well?
- 27:59Speaker 1: Guess what get to doing that? First of all, let
- 28:03Speaker 1: me explain something to you y'all. At this level right here,
- 28:06Speaker 1: you do not need voicemail. No more your voicemail. I
- 28:14Speaker 1: don't listen to mine anyway, but I get rid of
- 28:18Speaker 1: your voicemail. That's an opportunity for a cry for help.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Do not need people who can fly on your machine
- 28:30Speaker 1: to leave you before you got to hear voice and
- 28:33Speaker 1: flash hoping you answer. Please tell me I can't even
- 28:40Speaker 1: wait min hold up, be quiet enough, call me. You
- 28:45Speaker 1: know you was still doing stand up. This is the
- 28:48Speaker 1: set right, I'm telling you, man, get rid of your
- 28:52Speaker 1: voicemail because all it is is allows people to leave
- 28:58Speaker 1: you a cry for help. I always wondered why you
- 29:01Speaker 1: didn't have it. I just thought it was because you're
- 29:03Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. All you can do is text me and
- 29:07Speaker 1: I can decide what this is you're talking about, like
- 29:12Speaker 1: okay for and then you can control it. What about this?
- 29:16Speaker 1: I heard what you said about your siblings, and we
- 29:19Speaker 1: all have What about those family members? You said you
- 29:22Speaker 1: will always help your brothers and sisters, you pay them,
- 29:27Speaker 1: But what about those especially folks that are listening to
- 29:31Speaker 1: have those family members? They are the ones that come
- 29:34Speaker 1: over and over and over again. But see guess what,
- 29:38Speaker 1: though you you can't keep coming to the whale once
- 29:41Speaker 1: it's dry. See what? Let and let me explain something
- 29:45Speaker 1: to y'all. These people will come to you as long
- 29:48Speaker 1: as you give it to and when you ain't got
- 29:50Speaker 1: it nor more, they go somewhere. So you do not
- 29:53Speaker 1: allow a person to dry your water whale up. It's
- 29:57Speaker 1: like they're holding your holding your kindness and your your
- 30:00Speaker 1: your generosity hostage because they know how you are. They know, Tommy,
- 30:05Speaker 1: like you said, you're you know that they know you
- 30:08Speaker 1: have it. They know you have it, they know you're
- 30:10Speaker 1: a giver. So they play on those sympathies. They play
- 30:13Speaker 1: on that emotion that you have because you know, because
- 30:15Speaker 1: you they you know, maybe you'll feel guilty because you
- 30:18Speaker 1: have more than them. So you know all of them
- 30:21Speaker 1: all year long. Man, this nice house. I've never been here. Wow, alright,
- 30:30Speaker 1: I feel man. Have a call like that. Man, what
- 30:35Speaker 1: you got to a car? We're gonna continue this when
- 30:38Speaker 1: we come back. We're doing a new two thousand either
- 30:43Speaker 1: midshell remarks. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:50Speaker 1: All right, Wow, what a discussion. We're in the middle
- 30:53Speaker 1: of two thousand eighteen predictions. It's evolved into something else.
- 30:57Speaker 1: What you know, the discussion is good. I think that
- 31:01Speaker 1: you know the leg workers carrying it out. You know,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I have to be focused to carry it out because
- 31:05Speaker 1: they don't come. You know what I mean. They come, Tommy,
- 31:08Speaker 1: like I was about to tell you what your problem is.
- 31:11Speaker 1: They set you up for this. Man, this is the
- 31:15Speaker 1: nicest house I have ever seen. Man, How I feel
- 31:18Speaker 1: to drive a car like that? Man? Man, So you
- 31:22Speaker 1: work with it? Man, you ain't show business? Man and
- 31:25Speaker 1: you tell him jokes Man, you're on the radio. Man,
- 31:27Speaker 1: you got that game show Man? How they feel? Man?
- 31:32Speaker 1: Oh man, Man, we're over here, Man, we're just trying
- 31:34Speaker 1: to get back. Yo. Hey man, I got this thing
- 31:40Speaker 1: I'm working on, but I needed thousand dollars. Man. Man,
- 31:44Speaker 1: if you could just help me out, man, I show
- 31:46Speaker 1: we'll appreciate it. All right. Man, I'll help you out
- 31:49Speaker 1: because you're a kind person. But listen to me, y'all. People,
- 31:54Speaker 1: like Shirley said, people take advantage of your kind. When
- 31:58Speaker 1: a person wants something, they'll do the necessary things to
- 32:02Speaker 1: get it. If it's compliment, you make you false promises.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But the most, the biggest and the most useless emotions.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Oh Tommy, you're so tall. Let let me get a
- 32:22Speaker 1: their compliment, they'll do it's necessary, man for that. But
- 32:30Speaker 1: I jumped in it. The most useless emotions. The most
- 32:34Speaker 1: useless emotion in the human spirit is guilt. Yes, guilt,
- 32:42Speaker 1: it is the most useless emotion. It serves the purpose
- 32:47Speaker 1: of no one except the person who applies it right.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And people use it to apply it to get something
- 32:59Speaker 1: from you, so they make you feel guilty. Guilt is
- 33:05Speaker 1: the most useless human emotion. It serves no purpose. Why
- 33:09Speaker 1: are you feeling guilty, especially if you ain't done nothing. Now,
- 33:13Speaker 1: if you shot somebody and you're sitting over there looking
- 33:16Speaker 1: at him in the hospital room and you know you
- 33:18Speaker 1: shot it, yeah, you're posted to feel guilty. But if
- 33:21Speaker 1: you've done nothing, why would you feel guilt because you blessed?
- 33:26Speaker 1: Because God didn't bless you, because you go to work
- 33:28Speaker 1: every day and you don't got to supervise the job,
- 33:31Speaker 1: or you don't gotta upgrade and you don't got yourself
- 33:33Speaker 1: a raise because you didn't worked your tail off and
- 33:36Speaker 1: attend has been good. You don't be late. Now you're
- 33:38Speaker 1: on your job. You didn't come up now all of
- 33:40Speaker 1: a sudden, cause you didn't come up. You got this
- 33:43Speaker 1: relative and friend who thinks you owe them something because
- 33:46Speaker 1: they know now you got it. Now you're feeling guilty
- 33:49Speaker 1: because they ain't got it, because they ass ain't worked,
- 33:53Speaker 1: because they ain't putty in what you put in. See,
- 33:56Speaker 1: I stopped that a long time ago because I works
- 34:00Speaker 1: my tail off. So what you're not gonna do it's
- 34:03Speaker 1: come over to me and make me feel funky because
- 34:06Speaker 1: I got something you ain't. But when I tell you
- 34:09Speaker 1: what you gotta do to get something, man, you gotta
- 34:12Speaker 1: get the hustling man. Yeah's people said, when you tell
- 34:16Speaker 1: them what they got to do, and the first thing
- 34:18Speaker 1: out that, my man, I ain't gonna be doing all that,
- 34:19Speaker 1: what then you ain't gonna happen. You can't have all
- 34:21Speaker 1: this thing. If you're not gonna do all that, you
- 34:24Speaker 1: can't have all that. You can't And that's that's the
- 34:29Speaker 1: problem that we all face it. So in two thousand
- 34:31Speaker 1: and eighteen, y'all think about it. Cut the dead weight, loose,
- 34:36Speaker 1: lose the guilt emotion because it's it only serves the
- 34:39Speaker 1: person that's applying it to you. Lose guilt shared the
- 34:44Speaker 1: dead weight. Don't be afraid to say no. And remember
- 34:47Speaker 1: if they didn't know your number, what would they do? Well,
- 34:51Speaker 1: guess what they needs to get to do with it?
- 34:59Speaker 1: He thinks that too, though. It's don't be afraid to
- 35:01Speaker 1: say no. Yeah, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 35:06Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, without further ado. Here he is starting
- 35:12Speaker 1: the new year off different. Eugene the Butterfly, good morning,
- 35:17Speaker 1: good morning, Stephen Shirley College Junior, Tommy, good morning, good morning,
- 35:21Speaker 1: good money. It's a beautiful, beautiful too. We're gonna do
- 35:24Speaker 1: something different, Okay, So here's what we're doing. Um, today
- 35:33Speaker 1: is January nine, Tuesday, and we have a special birthday.
- 35:37Speaker 1: And I wanted to do it myself because this is
- 35:39Speaker 1: one of my really really good girlfriends, because I love
- 35:41Speaker 1: her so much, so I want to bring her up.
- 35:44Speaker 1: We have her on the line, so I want to say, um,
- 35:47Speaker 1: happy birthday to miss JaQuel and Myles, good morning, good morning, morning.
- 35:59Speaker 1: We'll girl, Hi Jackie, Hi, happy birthday baby, but thank
- 36:06Speaker 1: you so much. Happy birthday, girl, Love you to the
- 36:10Speaker 1: moon and fat girl you hear me. Hey, y'all don't know.
- 36:12Speaker 1: This is Tommy's white the first Yeah, this is the
- 36:18Speaker 1: first CIS. But it was my idea that lemonade. It
- 36:23Speaker 1: was my idea to give you a car. I'm going
- 36:24Speaker 1: to one of the cow you wish you a happy birthday.
- 36:26Speaker 1: It was not him, it was me. He dog, Come on,
- 36:29Speaker 1: I don't don't, don't come between me and my girl.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Happy birthday. Tea yea. I just want to say I
- 36:35Speaker 1: look at you, Look at Lemon. Lemon. You know I'm
- 36:40Speaker 1: you already now I'm your favorite. I'm gonna say to
- 36:43Speaker 1: do things don't work out with you and Tommy, Hi right,
- 36:48Speaker 1: your baby, I'm your boy. It's my baby's birthday. This
- 37:01Speaker 1: is a milestone birthday. Today. We're going to see Hamilton
- 37:05Speaker 1: in New York tonight. So this is this is all
- 37:09Speaker 1: for her. I got a big party, we got playing
- 37:11Speaker 1: on Saturday night. When you when we get back to Houston.
- 37:14Speaker 1: So you know, yeah, they don't have a house. Yay.
- 37:24Speaker 1: You know how you know chateaus. You can't ja walk
- 37:26Speaker 1: up to a shot. They got a gate. Yeah, you
- 37:29Speaker 1: gotta get rung in. You got security, sting, you got,
- 37:32Speaker 1: you got, you got a white man stand outside in
- 37:35Speaker 1: a booth in a both. So I want to say
- 37:42Speaker 1: this to you. Let me. I want to do you
- 37:43Speaker 1: have anything to say for you know, this is a
- 37:45Speaker 1: beautiful housetown. Anything any worries you like to say about

- 38:16Speaker 1: dinner fromm We'll be back today. You're listening to Steve
- 38:25Speaker 1: Hardy Morning Show. Well, yesterday, I don't know if you
- 38:28Speaker 1: guys recalled, but Steve got a little upset with Jay
- 38:31Speaker 1: because in well, yeah, yeah, they were, they were beefing yesterday. Well,
- 38:38Speaker 1: Steve was with Jay and eventually Steve kind of let
- 38:42Speaker 1: Jay have it due to Yeah, that could be, that
- 38:46Speaker 1: could be. He did leave another murder the hit. But
- 38:50Speaker 1: that's what it was all about, Steve, right, He put
- 38:52Speaker 1: your name in a murder of the hit like a
- 38:53Speaker 1: two thousand eighteen, two thousand seventeen review, Year in review,
- 38:58Speaker 1: and you were in there your meeting with the press.

- 43:28Speaker 1: next it is the nephew with today's prank phone call.
- 43:31Speaker 1: What you got now? Surely this only seems right. This
- 43:34Speaker 1: goes out to all the members of five Beta Sigma.
- 43:37Speaker 1: In the title of this prank is you ain't no signal? No,
- 43:42Speaker 1: you ain't no Sigers day. We miss you, Jay Blue Blue, Hello,
- 43:50Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach a Greg please. Yeah, this see
- 43:54Speaker 1: how you doing my name is Bernard, five Beta Sigma
- 43:57Speaker 1: over pledged relationships. Uh huh giving you a call to
- 44:01Speaker 1: day man, um you attended, prev, you and m University?
- 44:05Speaker 1: Am I correct? Yeah? Am I right? You attended and
- 44:11Speaker 1: from my understanding you pledged five Beta signal and fall
- 44:14Speaker 1: of ninety one. That's correct, alright, that's the Theta chapter correct? Yes,
- 44:20Speaker 1: all right. Here's where we're having some problems here going
- 44:23Speaker 1: through the records, actually looking at the records that we
- 44:26Speaker 1: have here headquarters, you're not actually an official member of
- 44:31Speaker 1: five Beta Sigma. I don't know what has taken place,
- 44:34Speaker 1: but what you mean not a member? Looking at our
- 44:38Speaker 1: records here at national headquarters, it's indicating that you're not
- 44:41Speaker 1: an official member of five Beta Sigma. I don't know
- 44:44Speaker 1: what could have gone wrong with this now not It
- 44:48Speaker 1: ain't right? Man, That ain't right because see depth of
- 44:50Speaker 1: data is recognized nationally, so why wouldn't I be nationally recognized.
- 44:55Speaker 1: I'm not certain, sir. Maybe it's something that took place
- 44:57Speaker 1: on that that actual line of Fall ninety one. We're
- 45:00Speaker 1: actually going to have to do some research on everything
- 45:03Speaker 1: that's going on with your line as well as the chapter.
- 45:05Speaker 1: But how is that possible if they gave if they
- 45:07Speaker 1: gave me a certifticate in the in the plaque and
- 45:10Speaker 1: I got my my opin and I mean I'm a stigma.
- 45:13Speaker 1: What you mean? Okay, sir, I don't know what I'm
- 45:16Speaker 1: looking at here and and and please understand, I want
- 45:19Speaker 1: to try to clear this matter up. Yeah, yeah, we
- 45:21Speaker 1: need to do this matter. Who who else? Is there
- 45:23Speaker 1: somebody there like U oversee? Uh, maybe the head president
- 45:28Speaker 1: or your branch or something I can talk to or something. Well,
- 45:30Speaker 1: I'm actually I am actually over pledged relations uh. And
- 45:33Speaker 1: I wanted to give you a call personally so we
- 45:36Speaker 1: can try to rectify the matter. And it's gonna take
- 45:38Speaker 1: us some time to hiring this thing out. But what
- 45:40Speaker 1: I need you to do as at this point, and
- 45:43Speaker 1: you know what the problem is that I'm noticing is
- 45:45Speaker 1: that all of the people that were on your line
- 45:48Speaker 1: they are official. For some reason, Mr Gregg isn't official,
- 45:52Speaker 1: So I want to I don't understand that because I
- 45:55Speaker 1: was the line president. So how how is everybody else
- 45:59Speaker 1: able to be your sigma and not me when I
- 46:01Speaker 1: did all the paperwork that it takes to for the
- 46:05Speaker 1: process to be right. I don't understand sir. You know what, brother? Uh,
- 46:09Speaker 1: I can't call you brother for the fact that right
- 46:11Speaker 1: now I'm telling me brother because I'm a Sigma. So
- 46:14Speaker 1: here's what we're gonna have to do. Greg. We're gonna
- 46:16Speaker 1: have to get you to First of all, if you're
- 46:19Speaker 1: dealing with anybody alumni wise, we're asking that you don't
- 46:22Speaker 1: go to any meetings right now. We're also asking that
- 46:25Speaker 1: you don't wear any five beta Sigma peral for now.
- 46:29Speaker 1: At this point, we want to make sure and get
- 46:31Speaker 1: clarity that you are definitely a brother. Man. Man, I
- 46:34Speaker 1: am definitely a brother. Do you know what I had
- 46:37Speaker 1: to go through to get where I am today? To
- 46:39Speaker 1: be a signal? All the due y'all, y'all took y'all dudes.
- 46:42Speaker 1: What happened to that? If you're taking my dudes, you
- 46:45Speaker 1: should be able to tell me yo, man um, we
- 46:47Speaker 1: got this going on. Certain things are going on with
- 46:50Speaker 1: your line. We need to we need to check you.
- 46:52Speaker 1: You took our money. That's the thing. I'm seeing checks
- 46:54Speaker 1: that have gone through for other people on that line.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I don't say, man, And to this day, I'm like
- 47:00Speaker 1: a lifetime member, So what the hell are you talking about?
- 47:02Speaker 1: I have no records indicating that your lifetime. Remember that's
- 47:05Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So we dog, somebody needs to tell
- 47:08Speaker 1: me something today. We're gonna try to get to the
- 47:11Speaker 1: end of this by the end of the week. It's
- 47:12Speaker 1: gonna take no. No, no, but no, but no, but no,
- 47:14Speaker 1: you're not understanding what I'm saying, man, because I'm a
- 47:17Speaker 1: signal to the heart. Dude. You know what I'm talking about.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Y'all playing with my heart right now? Man, Ain't nobody's
- 47:21Speaker 1: gonna do that and get away with I don't know
- 47:23Speaker 1: what going on. You know, here's what we can do.
- 47:25Speaker 1: We can bring you back in and do another pledging process. Pledge.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Did you understand what you just said to me? No, Man,
- 47:32Speaker 1: that that ain't happen. Dog, I'm been through this already. Man,
- 47:35Speaker 1: I'm not pledging. I'm not signing my name on nothing
- 47:38Speaker 1: else because I have pledged. I'm not doing it. I'll
- 47:42Speaker 1: need to get somebody on the phone that can answer
- 47:44Speaker 1: my question. I want to know what's going on, okay
- 47:46Speaker 1: right now? And and I understand you know the disbelief
- 47:49Speaker 1: of what's going on, I really do. You honestly don't.
- 47:52Speaker 1: But your brother, brother, We're gonna try to what year
- 47:55Speaker 1: did you go across? Did you walk to say? Let
- 47:57Speaker 1: me tell me what's going on? Brother, I'm fall lady
- 48:00Speaker 1: nine brother, and that what we're gonna have to do
- 48:02Speaker 1: right now is first of all, no pairaphernilia. You're trying
- 48:08Speaker 1: to see me that I can't well what's nearest and
- 48:10Speaker 1: dearest to my heart, next to my wife and my child.
- 48:13Speaker 1: You're telling me that I can't go around to proclaim
- 48:15Speaker 1: where I am. That's like telling me I can't be black.
- 48:18Speaker 1: What the hell are you're saying? And another thing we're
- 48:20Speaker 1: going to get you to do. Understand you have a brand,
- 48:22Speaker 1: Sigma brand. That's what I have to come off until
- 48:26Speaker 1: we until we get this taken care of? What and
- 48:29Speaker 1: then you talk about them medical procedure. What are you saying?
- 48:33Speaker 1: So we cannot allow you to wear a brand representing
- 48:36Speaker 1: five Beta Sigmal when right now you are not. You can't.
- 48:39Speaker 1: I can't allow that that brand. Me was allowed to
- 48:42Speaker 1: put the brand on me. Now I can't be allowed
- 48:44Speaker 1: to wear something not been wearing for almost fifteen years.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Are you crazy? Come man? This is crazy. So we
- 48:50Speaker 1: gotta get you to take your until all of the brand.
- 48:55Speaker 1: What the hell are y'all, man, this is some look here, brother,
- 48:58Speaker 1: but not what but is that what your name is?
- 49:01Speaker 1: You need to get somebody on this minute. That's all right,
- 49:05Speaker 1: I know the president phill how about that. I will
- 49:08Speaker 1: just call in and I'll figured out my bill. Right now.
- 49:13Speaker 1: We need you to take the brand off keep it.
- 49:16Speaker 1: You come take the brand off of me. And you
- 49:18Speaker 1: wanted that bad, come get it. That's what you do.
- 49:21Speaker 1: You are not a member of five Beta sick. Don't
- 49:24Speaker 1: give up you talking about dog I am a member.
- 49:28Speaker 1: If you want something over here, howland your boy, that's
- 49:30Speaker 1: what you do. You're bad, Come do it. So I'm
- 49:33Speaker 1: telling you for the final time, do not wear any
- 49:36Speaker 1: paraphern now you keep couldn't don't want to hear that
- 49:38Speaker 1: talking about no final Let me tell you what's final.

- 58:28Speaker 1: Here it is. Here's a strawberry letter. All right, this
- 58:30Speaker 1: is another crazy one, another crazy one. Subject disrespectful senior citizen.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Good morning, Stephen Shirley. I am a thirty two year
- 58:38Speaker 1: old pastor with somewhat of an issue My wife and
- 58:41Speaker 1: I are happily married and we have the typical issues
- 58:44Speaker 1: like the next couple. Here's the situation. There is one
- 58:48Speaker 1: particular lady in my church who really freaks me out
- 58:52Speaker 1: and rubbed my wife the wrong way. I try to
- 58:55Speaker 1: avoid contact with this woman because she often says stuff
- 58:59Speaker 1: like come here and let me feel on you, or
- 59:01Speaker 1: come here and let grandma Grandma make you feel good.
- 59:05Speaker 1: This lady is in her eighties, but she doesn't have
- 59:09Speaker 1: any limits. She sometimes will randomly stop by the job
- 59:13Speaker 1: and bring me lunch or offered to take me to lunch.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Not only that her actions are more than words, she
- 59:20Speaker 1: has actually touched me inappropriately several times. Uh. She is
- 59:26Speaker 1: very rude to my wife at church. She will say
- 59:29Speaker 1: say things to my wife like you need you need
- 59:32Speaker 1: me to teach you how to take care of a man,
- 59:35Speaker 1: or do you need me to cook for you pastor
- 59:37Speaker 1: do you need me to cook for pastor. My wife
- 59:40Speaker 1: has told me that when she calls her house, she
- 59:42Speaker 1: doesn't even speak to her, but instead we'll just ask
- 59:45Speaker 1: to speak to me. Now, my wife isn't as saved
- 59:48Speaker 1: as I am, and she has come close to confronting
- 59:51Speaker 1: this woman. I don't want this situation to get more
- 59:54Speaker 1: out of control than it is. Now, how do you
- 59:56Speaker 1: think I should handle this? I don't want to look
- 59:59Speaker 1: like a week pastor, nor do I want my wife
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: to catch a case behind this old lady. Okay, are
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: you sure this woman is in her eighties? That's what
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I have to ask you, because most eighty year olds
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: that we know about, uh, you know, they're sweet, they're loving,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the caring, especially the ones that are in the church. Yes,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: eighty year olds I'm talking about in the church. All right,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: we'll have part two of Steve's response coming up in
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour you're listening to the Steve
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, come on, Steve, let's get
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: part two of your response to today's strawberry less subject.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Disrespectful senior, disrespectful senior citizen. Good morning, Shirley, Steve. I'm
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: a thirty two year old pastor with somewhat of an issue.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: My wife and I are happily married, and we have
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: typical issues like the next couple. Here's the situation. First
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: of all, I want to say this right here. What
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: it always chrips me out a little bit when a
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: pastor right in I just want you to understand that
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: right there they listened, Steve, the okay, what you're writing
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: us folks, the Lord you got the Lord, we're supposed
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: to come to you. I think this is bad. So now,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: since you're coming to me, when you could have easily
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: went to the Lord in prayer, all you could have
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: got counseling from a more qualified pastor like Bishop Olmer T. D.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Jakes Joel, I'm sure you've got somebody number, but you
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: wrote me and Shelly. So since you're going about it back,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: which you must want to back with ans, Thus here
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: I come. There's a particular lady in your church who
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: really freaks me out and rubs my wife the wrong way.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: I try to avoid contact with this woman because she
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: have to says stuff like come in and let me
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: feel on you, and come on here and let grandma
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: make you feel good. This lady is in her eighties,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: but she don't don't have any limits. First of all,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: let me say that to your path. You don't know
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: what that lady. Maybe she ain't got no limits caused
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: ain't no you know my cheating learned what she know?
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: So past, when you write me about this eight year
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: if you can't handle a d year old woman, why
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: are you running the church? Why are you in charge
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: of your church? Though? I mean, on just real, it's
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: just gonna keep it real. You can't handle an old lady, man,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I ain't. Then here we go. See y'all getting a
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: little tight with this answer, but this answer real, I'm
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: with you. I mean, you can't handle eight year old
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: lady at your church, and here we go. She don't
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: have any limit. She sometimes will randomly stop by my job,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: bring me lunch or offer to take me to lunch.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Not only that her actions are more than words, she
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: has actually touched me inappropriately several times. She's very rude
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: to my wife at church. She would say things to
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: my wife like, you need me to teach you how
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: to take care of the man, or do you need
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: me to cook for pastor it's crazy, old, healthful, But
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: see what you need to do and let your wife
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: loose on it, though, because that's what's really about to happen,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: because you said this right here. My wife has told
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: me when she calls out how she don't even speak
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: to her, but instead we just asked to speak to me.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Here's department through me now, my wife isn't as saved
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: as I am. See, here we go with these most
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: saved people. But you most saved, and you run the
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: church and you're the pastor, but you can't handle eight
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: year old. You need to break off. You're the leader
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: of the house. Come on, gonna, I'm gonna play up
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: in y'all. I'm about what break off? All right, Steve,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: you know we gotta go. We gotta get out of here.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: You can email us or instagram us your thoughts on
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: today's Strawberry Letter at my Girls shurely and don't forget
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: to join me. This Thursday, we are back with the
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter Live after show on Facebook. It'll be at
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: one thirty Eastern time, so please join me first. One
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: of the New Years gears now Fitness, of course, is
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: at the top of everyone's New Year's resolutions list. Uh well.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Lifetime Fitness Gym and Health Club have announced that they
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: will be airing no news at its gyms. Okay, no news,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I got a membership. Okay, yeah, no no more news, Lifetime, Lifetime,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: they do what? No more news. They have announced that
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: they're banning all cable news channels at their fitness gyms.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Because well, I mean, you can only imagine. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: they got a bunch of complaints from customers about TV
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: shows you know that show, CNN, Fox, MSNBC and all
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: the other you know, twenty four so cable news outlets.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: According to Lifetime Jim, they the customers just felt that
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: being bombarded with news and politics all the time while
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: they were trying to work out just does not fit
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: a healthy lifestyle. But they're trying to achieve it, because
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I can imagine that's frustrating it is to be working
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: out and then you got the news. All the news
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: is bad. It's bad. It's bad, it's bad, Steve. Yeah,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: but at one channel they get they need the band
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: that I'd be looking at when I'm in there, Uh,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: the Food Network. If they get that channel out of there,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: did I could finish my workout because the man I
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: see the turkey and dress and stuff. I stopped walking
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and you go eat. Yeah, I said, maybe gonna get
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: out here. I'm hung That's the channel they need to
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: keep banding. Yeah, but you're you're right though. The news,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: but it's like watching a bad accident. Though. It's like
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: once you start watching it, you continue watching it, you know,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: every day. You know, you want to know what's going on.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: What did he do today, what did he say? What
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: did he tweet today? Yeah? Yeah, So back to Oprah
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: running for president. I don't know if you finished your thoughts, Steve. No,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I wish she wouldn't, man, I wish she would go
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: because this is such a high stress, thankless position. But
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: don't you think she's she's will consider that or she's
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: thought about that already. I'm pretty sure she has. But
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: you know she's done everything, you know, I mean, maybe
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: she wants that part of her life, you know, be interesting.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: It would be the first woman, the first nonmarried person
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: in the White House. But see, you could scrap all
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: these rules, thank you. Anyway. See, I didn't know what's
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: in there now you could, you know, say you'd go
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: grab a woman p and make it in. I didn't
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: know you could not show your tax return. I didn't
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: know you could never ever have held political office, no
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: where ever ever be a nomineed. And I just did
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: not know that this could happen. You could tweet it.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: You don't even have to be either. You could just tweet. Yeah,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I mean, real kind of government experienced, Steve, is what
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: you're saying, I didn't know you could. Just you don't
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: assult people on a daily basis. Yeah, you don't really
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: have to hold press conferences if you don't want to,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: you don't talk to the press. Yeah, you don't have
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: to answer to anybody. Yeah, he appeared you're supposed to
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: answer to the people. Now you're talking about big Gil button, Neil,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: you're gonna push it man, Yeah, talk like that. And
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: you're a very stable genius. You call yourself a genius. Stable. Well,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: now let me say this. I think he's a smart guy. Yeah,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: and I think business wise he is could be a
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: bit of a genius. I just don't think he should
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: be the president. All right, coming up at forty one
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: after the hour, when we come back, two thousand eighteen predictions. Okay,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: you're listening to the Steve Morning Show. All right, Wow,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: this is such a great subject. I mean, it's new,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: it's the time to talk about it. Now. What we're
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: gonna do in two Yeah, kind of a couple of
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: motivational days at the top of two thousand and eighteen,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: I think on the Steve Harved Morning Show, maybe we'll
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: do a couple of days. It is getting people set
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: up and situated with the right mind set to approach
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: two thousand eighteen, because you know when when when God
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: allows you to see a new year, that's a new opportunity.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I mean, that's a calendar year. Man, that's a great
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: accomplishment to still be here in two thousand eighteen. However
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: old you are, two thousand eighteen is here, So this
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: is a new calendar year. You can get a fresh
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: start with a different attitude. So I'm you know, we're
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: just talking about two thousand and eighteen. Any questions like
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: what we've been talking about. Okay, all right, let's let's
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: talk investment, Like what can I do? Let's say I
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: tell you. Let's say I hear it. Let's say I
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: hear fifteen comic clubs over the course of this year.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Let's say I take ten and put it aside, ten
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: grand put it aside. Each time I I do a gig,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Where can I put this money and invest it and
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: and make it profitable for me? Well not listen, you
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: have to think of do you have money to risk
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: or you want to make show us? Then when you
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: go back to get it with damn show us. There,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: we're okay, damn show us there minimal risk. Okay, it's
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: minimal risk. Money market, show me a little bit of
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: damn show and not so damn show. Give me some
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: way up in there. The stock market. And the reason
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: the stock market is always cool is because when you
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: do make money on the stock market, in the in
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: the in the in the financial bracket you're in when
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: you pay taxes on it, you only pay capital gain taxes,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: which is somewhere between eleven and fifteen percent something like that.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: So you only pay taxes. So like, if you make
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: over you know a certain amount of four hundred thousand dollars,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: three hundred thoud dollars, you already up in the bracket, right,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: so now you got to pay forty percent on the money.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: But if you make money in the stock market, you
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: get capital gains tax that's on somewhere between eleven percent.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: I'm not sure what it is, but it's a much
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: much lower number. So stock market is good. I'll tell
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: your stock that you got to look into this young
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: boy and that works for me, invested his money in
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: because marijuana is being legalized so many places. He's invested
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: money in the people who make the lights that grow marijuana.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: The soil companies for marijuana, the hosing for the hosing,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: and the bins and plant bins. He invest in all
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: the supplack. Now, let me tell you what this kid did,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: because he handles my stocks, right, his young kid out
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: of more house. So I gave him some money to
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: stop much. I've doubled my money easy, easily over the
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: year and a half. I mean double it plus more
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: than double. So I made a deal with him for
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: off the profit of the money, I'll give you a
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: percentage for investing in you know, like if I had
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: a stockbroker or something, right, right, I get this kid
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: his take. He took all his money, this money I
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: gave him, you know, just a few few tens of thousands.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: He took all of his money and bought the stocks.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: He's already doubled his money. Wow. He he looks at
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: all the marijuana stocks because it's it's climbing and that
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: that was a smart thing. Now I'm not saying go
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: out and do that, but you know, and they're like,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: he I stayed away from all the bit coin stuff
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: because I think it's a bubble. No, let's go back
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: to this man Juana part though. So I put over there,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: let it ride. See what happened? Yeah, in them stocks. See,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: I can't buy those stocks because of who you are. Well,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: I mean, it's just a promise I made to God.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Me and God got a deal. So I can't dishonor
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: the deal I want to God. They're talked about No,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: they ain't make that deal. Right there, They talked about marijuana,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: the supplies, the weed, the hoses, the lights. I mean,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: this little kid, he researched it, and and it's and
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: like one of the stocks he bought, he bought at
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: a dollar ninety seven cent back when it first got
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: that he just did this on his own, that same
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: stock he got. It's damn the thirty some dollars. Oh.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Now it's no shoeing because something could happen to one
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: of these companies. But stocks are a cool way, and
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: you can kind of watch it so and you can
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: put a stop on your stocks. So like you say, okay, cool,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna invest this much money in the stock market.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: You can tell your stockbroker, Okay, look, if if my
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: stock ever drops to this much, I want to put
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: a stop on it, sell it, give me my money out. Okay. Okay,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: you know you know, so you don't evolute like you
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: might say, Okay, look, if I ever get down to
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: three forth to this or half of this, I need
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: you to put a stop on that. At least get
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: to get three forths a half of my money back.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Oh I might not want to go past this point
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: right here. You know, you know you could do things
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: like that. So those those that we're talking about stocks
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: and stuff, I love it because you know we all
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: companies too. Small companies are good things to do. You know,
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: somebody you know got a T shirt company, just need
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: twenty grand to get it off the ground hopping, and
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: then you catch him and you know, you never know,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: one of these cats could flip it into some real things.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: You know, I'm just talking small companies. Next, you're talking
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: about what we're talking about. Name. That's why I don't
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: smoke it. Why I don't smoke it because I can't question.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: He's done with you. Yeah, I got I got a question.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I gotta I got a serious question though. This is
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: this is for this is something that's personal that's going
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: on me. Um, how how do I not only just
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: get rid of people, but how do I find the
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: qualify people to help me grow. Who should we got
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: We talked about getting rid of people, but who do
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: we give the opportunity. I'm gonna give you an inventory
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: checklist to do, and then an inventory checklist to do
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: so to get rid of people and how to replace people. Okay, hey, y'all,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: we'll be back. Junior has a personal question. I tend
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: to that, and we got some more the show right
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: after this. You're listening morning, all right, we're back, everybody,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: We're back, and we're talking about two thousand and eighteen.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: We decided for the next day or so to just
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: talk in a positive direction, just to give you some
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: insight and some thoughts. Starters, now, listen to me. I
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: don't know everything, so all of these things that I'm
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: giving you are just my opinions from my years of
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: getting it wrong finally getting it right. Made a lot
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: of mistakes being at every economic level, so I'm able
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: to talk from a place of experience. But like when
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: it comes to money, you know, look, no stock is
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: a guaranteed. I don't know everything. You know, if you
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: put your money in the c D, yeah, some could
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: happen to a c D. Something could happen to a
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: money mark. You know, you can put your money in
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: treasury bonds. It's a lot of stuff. You know, people
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: like annuities. I don't. I don't, I don't. But you know,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: whatever it is that that you want to do, you,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: I'm just giving you thought starters. So Junior, what's your
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: next question? Okay? So we talked about losing people, right,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: I'm getting rid of people. The dead weight car. We
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: talked about that early this morning. Got that. But then,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: like for me, like in business, and the people I'm
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: getting rid of, I gotta replace them. So who do
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: I get a job too? That's gonna do the job
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: that's qualified. Okay, first of all, let's talk about before
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: we replace people, how do we get rid of people.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: I created a checklist. This is my own. I didn't
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: get this from nowhere. It's just something I've learned over
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: the years. I have a grading system. I have a
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: black dot, an asterick, and a check mark, A black dot,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: an asterix, and a check mark. Okay, now this is
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: the way I use it. Go down list everybody that's
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: in your life, family, friends, associates, business people, anybody in
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: your life. Every time they call you something wrong, it's
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: bad news. You can't stand to see their number. Put
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: a black dot next to their name. That they don't
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: never encourage you. That's I'm always wrong. They how you're
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: doing the day. Well, I'm so glad you ask. Okay,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: put a black dot next to their name. The next
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I thought you wan't is is there anybody in your
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: life that's like like, they're cool with you in some areas,
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: but in some other areas they're not so cool. You
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: can take them over here, but you can't take them
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: over there. You know, you can discuss this with them,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: but you show bed not bring up that with them.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: You know, sometimes you can talk to them about some things,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: share this with them. Some stuff you can't talk to him.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Put an asterisk. Those are fifty people. Okay, put an
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: asterisk by their name. The next person in your life
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: is every time they call you, they got something good
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: to say. Every time you talk to them, they encourage it.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: They got a scripture for you. Maybe they just talk
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: to you man. They try to be supportive. They hear
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: you out. They always upbeat. They see they the optimistic people,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: they see the bright side, the very positive people. Those
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: people right there, you put a checkmark next to their name. Now,
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: go to your iPhone, Android, whatever kind of phone you got.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Everybody on your list that has a black dot, delete
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: their name from your phone right here. Block, delete and
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: block they damn number. God, do you understand, delete and
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: block their number because you don't that bad news. You
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: don't never need that now these sometimeing people, delete and
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: block they damn number. Dog for what I'm telling you, man,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: a person that's good here and ain't good that cool
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: with you here? Cool? What dog I'm telling on you man?
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Because that always come on the day when it's opposite
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: your fifty you have? Do you ever this hot? Don't
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: ever match up? You don't get the good fifty? You
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: block and delete their number. Everybody with a checkmark body number,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: keep it. That's what that's That's what I'm getting at.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: So how many people in your phone? Uh oh, I
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: got a lot of I got a lot of them.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: When you got when you get through the leading the
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: black astrich how many it left? It ain't minutes. See,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: most of the people in my phone are all business people.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: And the other people in my phone, it's like people
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: who uplift me. Bishop Jake's Joe Oldstein, Bishop Kenneth Oma,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: my boy, Bishop Getties down in Carolina that I met
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: on my show. I was at the door on Bishop
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Gettings down there in the Carolina. Just my dude. He
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: always uplifted me. He do always texting me with good
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: news stuff like that. You know, I got some celebrities
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: that don't ever ask me for nothing. You understand, you
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: got to look at your list. If your list is toxic,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: your phone is toxic. Now you can't use it. Okay,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: Now how do you replace those people? Here's what you
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: gotta do. First of all, if you can get rid
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: of a person and you don't miss them, what they
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: did that was excellent, But now what is it that
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: you really thought they were supposed to do or what
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: did you really want from them? So first of all,
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: you have to determine Number one, where is it you're
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: trying to go in two thousand and eighteen? Where do
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: you want to go? What are your goals and aspirations
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: for two thousand and eighteen? The next the people that
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: you're even considering to help you move in two thousand eighteen.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: A's yourself this one question? Have they are they currently
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: doing it now or have they done it before? Wow?
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: What's that again? The people that you are considering putting
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: in your life to help you move through two thousand
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: and eighteen and get to the next level. Ask yourself
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: these two questions. Are they currently doing it right now
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: for themselves or someone else? And have they done it before?
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: If the answer is no, do not hide. Okay, that's
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: back to Junior's original question. Listen to me. That's why
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: every job application you feel out got that same question
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: on it. Do you have experience? But we keep hiding
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: people with no experience just called they're gonna come in
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: there and work hard. Now they're learning on your check
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: and all the mistakes you got to pay folk with
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: your career. I did all that. Okay, so I got
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: another when we come back here. You're listening to stew All, right, Wow,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't. I mean, I keep saying it. It's so interesting.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: I mean, this is the way you should start off
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: each year, plan the year. You know, you know, surely
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: the reason I'm telling people is I've learned this the
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: hard way. Now once again, this is just a system
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: that I've learned. But I've learned this from a lot
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: of big, big people. You know. I've had some people
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: they're doing way better than me than shared a lot
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: of disinformation with me. There's some of the stuff I
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: just had to figure out alone the way. And can
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: I say this, Steve, I've known you for a really,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: really long time. I've worked with you for a really
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: long time. I have seen you grow into this business man.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: You were not this business man when I first met you.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: I wasn't even close. And I have had I've had
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: a lot of bad hires and I and I've made
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: a couple of bad hires recently. But remember you all
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: asked me what was one of my plans for two
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: thousand and eighteen. I'm really I'm I got an organizational
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: chart right now in front of me, and I'm plugging
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: new people into it. And there's some people that's in
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: that that's gonna be gone because I'm not taking you anymore.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: Here's the analogy that Butch Lewis taught me when he
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: was living. Yeah, butch Lewis, the fight promoter. Butch Lewis
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: taught me an amazing analogy. He said, when you are
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: trying to start a company, a business, or you are
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: you the person at working in your family, He said,
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Steve you own rope, he said. Now you got on
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: tattered burlap shorts, you barefoot, You ain't got no shirt on,
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: and you on rope. Now you've seen them jim ropes
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: that you climb used to climb to the ceiling. You
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: know how I think they are married at the burlout.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: You got one of them connected to a wagon, old
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: western wagon with four wheels on it, a flat bed,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: open wagon with sides on it. You got no horse.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: You are the horse. That rope is tied to that wagon,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: and you got that rope across your shoulder and it's
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: cutting and you are pulling uphill. You have people on
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: your wagon that you are responsible for. Some of them
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: are family members, children, business associates, connections. They on your
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: wagon because you're climbing to the top. Now, what you
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: hope for is that you have people on your wagon
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: who at least got one foot hanging over the side
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: trying to push up with you a little bit of help. Yeah,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: you know how you skateboard that one leg pushed the
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: skateboard before you get on in ride. Hopefully you've got
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: some people that's doing that that get off the wagon
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: every now and then and just try to knock a
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: rock out the way. So when you're pulling up the here,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: you ain't least hitting rocks on this wagon wheel. Maybe
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: if you got a spouse, come walk next to you
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: and wipe your brow with a cold sponge rag and
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: pull water in your mouth, feed you and everybody else
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: on the wagon. But everybody need to be doing some
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: type of footwork to push the wagon up. The wagon
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: heavy anyway, Then at night when you go to bed, see,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: you don't get to let the wagon go. You have
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: to take that rope tied around your waist and lay
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: back on the hill and sleep the wagon still tied
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: to And when you get up in the morning, you
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: gotta unwrap that rope and gotta get back on your
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: climb with that rope cut across your shoulder. Hit a
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: sad part. Everybody got people on the wagon ain't even
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: pushing your laying the ass. I ain't just up the
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: laying all the way. That's the dead Wait you talk. Wow,
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Now that is a visual right there. I got no
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: question alright, uh wow, We'll be back with when more
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: of this incredible two thousand eighteen show. Way to kick
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: it off. I love it. You're listening to the show
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: all right, all morning long. This has been uh like informative,
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: insightful everything. I mean, you know, we're learning two eighteen
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: how to how yeah, how to kick it off and
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: how to get in gear your business life, your financial life,
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: your relationships, whatever it is. This is two thousand eighteen.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: You had another question for Steve Jr. Or wasn't you,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Tommy I go after him. Um, you know, I was
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: sitting at home over the break right, and I'm sitting
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: there and I'm I'm looking at my plane, I'm thinking
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: about all the stuff that I've accomplished, and I said
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: to myself out loud with no in the house, I said, Man,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: I'm supposed to be happier than this. Mm hmmm. I
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: just said that. What no about in there? I just said, man,
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I'm supposed to be happier than this and all the
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: people that we talked about earlier today. But I want
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: to talk about Lord. I need some ways to start
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: feeding my spiritual man. I need to figure out what's
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: the best way to go back to God and say,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: you know what, I made a mistake. It's just it's
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: just like right there, It's just like you just said.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: See everybody, if you get a closer walk with God
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: and make this whole thing better. Now you know you
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: say that to some people. What I don't know who
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: I got need to meet or talk? You know already
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: met him. He created you, so it's a very simple thing. See.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: But what the devil does is he makes it appear difficult.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: He makes you address things that you don't need to
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: address before you go to the Lord. No, no, no,
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: just go just like you are, Just like you are, broke, confused,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: He just waiting on you. Take the confusion, the lack
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: of understanding, take the part where you don't know what
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: to do next, and just go. Lord, Take me and
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: shape me how you want me to blue, make me
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: into who you want me to be. I'm tired of
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: do it. I need your help. This is where I
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: like to go. But show me the best way to
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: get that, or better yet, if you got another plan,
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: let's show to show that to me. Here's another part.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: A lot of times when people feel unfulfilled, like you
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: should feel better than this, it's because, man, you gotta
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: look at your gratitude. See, gratitude is an incredible asset
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: to your future. But with all you have, you should
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: be grateful for all you have, because man, look at here.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: You ain't where you was. But if you lose sight
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: of all that you have, all you focus on is
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: what you don't have, and you start blowing it. And
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: you have to thank him speaking of gratitude and the
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: good times and the bad. No matter what you're going through,
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: you still thank him. You're still grateful, you know all,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: And thank him for big and a small all the time,
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: and consult him. I mean, he's right there, he's all
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: the time, He's always with you always, he never leaves you,
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: he never leaves you. So you got to consider that
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: as well. He's right here right now, you know, all day,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: because that's some spiritually gifted people out there who could
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: probably give you a better answer. But what I've always done, man,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: keep it simple, is I just I just get right
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: down to it. I ain't nothing without him. I've come
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: to that conclusion. Man, So I'm cool with knowing that
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: I would be lost if he wasn't in my life.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: In no way I would be hire. So the more
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: I confided him, the more help than the better I feel. See,
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: take it off your shoulders and give it to him.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: He handled problems way better than you do. WHOA, what
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: a day. We'll come back to close out the show
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: with just one more thing and Steve's closing remarks. You're
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right here we
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: are to close out the show with just one more thing. Wow,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: I feel like I've been to church, been to school,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: everything right, It's been a great day. Yeah. Yeah, So
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: let's do close remarks right now in that light right there.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: I just keep it right there, because what Junior was
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: talking about, and he shared with this off the air,
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: was he said, I feel like I should be happier
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: right now than I am with all I've accomplished and
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: all I have and I and he is grateful for
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: his position, he tells me all the time. But he
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: said the one thing that he finally had to come
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: to the realization he got so many people pulling at him.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: See it's hard at the top. Man. It's like, oh,
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Will Smith told me this one time. We're just talking backstage,
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: and he said, hey man, you gotta understand, Steve. He said,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: it's like a huge desert out here, and you over
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: there on this island with these palm trees and waterfalls.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: He said, everybody on that desert. Want to come over there, yeah,
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: he said, But there ain't no room over there for everybody,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: he said. But you can't get mad at them for
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: wanting to come over there, he said, but day over there.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: So what I decided was, and what I found out
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: from talking to other very successful people, that being famous
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: is like living in a big, pretty prison. So what
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: I had to do was I had to put up
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: walls because I can't stop having this island with this
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: oasis on it. I like palm trees and waterfalls, So
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: I can't not have it because too many people aren't
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: over there. So I had put some walls up. You
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: gotta get some walls, you gotta get a gate, you
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: gotta get some fences. It's like, man, if you live
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: in the hood and you want your yard to be nice,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: you gotta fence it because they have mess up your
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: grass like they do everybody else's grass. You got to
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: fence it. Man. See if you if you got that
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: house up there by the school and you're on the
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: corner lot, if you don't fence that right there, them
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: kids gonna cut cross to cut that corn off and
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: mess up your grass. It don't make you messed up
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: for putting up your fence to protect your yard. You
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: just gotta put up your fences. And the reason that
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: you have to not give all your money away every
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: time somebody asked you for is because of something my
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: father taught me. And I've said it a hundred times
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: on this show. He says, Son, the that's the thing
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: you can do for po people is not be one
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: of them. Now you keep giving yours away. M And
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: to all y'all sitting up there with nothing now, who
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: went in? Now where they're gonna be all? In? All
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: them phone calls you're getting where they're gonna come from.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: I mean, when you thought you was all that when
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: you was over there with Steve. See, that's what you're
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: gonna hear. Yeah, you know because I I after you
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: didn't help him, after you helped him. Yeah, man, I
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: mean when you had all them cars and everything. What happened? Man?
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: You fell off a little bit. Dog. I've I've heard
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: all of this along the way. When I left radio
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: in l A two thousand five, Steed and fell off.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: Steve ain't nothing, man, Steve out of TV. He just
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: doing radio up in New Yak. Oh. He ain't nothing, man.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: He don't fell off. Dog. I have some very very
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: famous people say, man, you got to be told the dude.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: I know, man, I know he got to be tripping,
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: cause look at you and look at him. They didn't
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: know the whole time I was all right. I wasn't
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: where I was, but I was on a new path.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: I've been hearing my whole life. You ain't nothing. You're
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: about to fall off. You went up there to see Trump.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: What you do that money? They're gonna ruin you. You
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: said the wrong name in Mr Universe. You it's over
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: with for you. Man. You set up and you wrote
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: this joke about these people. They've gonna take you off
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: the air. Never be You know how many times they
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: wrote me off. I just keep on, man, I keep on,
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: and I keep on, and I keep on, and I
