- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, So let me just start off by saying
- 0:02Speaker 1: something extremely important. Number One, you need to listen to
- 0:07Speaker 1: what I'm about to tell you, because there's a very
- 0:09Speaker 1: good chance that the Democrats now have the votes needed
- 0:13Speaker 1: to ban assault weapons quote unquote in the Senate. There
- 0:18Speaker 1: has been some leagues that have come out from some
- 0:21Speaker 1: Senate members who now say they are extremely worried that
- 0:24Speaker 1: the votes are there for gun control measures that would
- 0:27Speaker 1: ban quote assault weapons to actually happen. Please make sure
- 0:32Speaker 1: that you grab our podcast and share it with your
- 0:36Speaker 1: family and friends, because we are going to have to
- 0:39Speaker 1: make a lot of noise to stop this. From what
- 0:42Speaker 1: I've been told, all right, quickly, I also want to
- 0:45Speaker 1: say thank you to our sponsor. Without them, this podcast
- 0:48Speaker 1: wouldn't exist. And Legacy Precious Medals is wanting to help
- 0:52Speaker 1: you diversify your financial portfolio. If you've been freaking out
- 0:56Speaker 1: over what's happening with your IRA, with your four one K,
- 0:59Speaker 1: with your investments on Wall Street, the question is did
- 1:02Speaker 1: you invest in gold or silver? Did you diversify your
- 1:06Speaker 1: investments so that there is a hedge with your portfolio
- 1:10Speaker 1: for inflation. Well, that's exactly what gold and silver has
- 1:14Speaker 1: done for so many. It is a hedge to protect
- 1:18Speaker 1: when it comes to inflation. Right now is actually a
- 1:21Speaker 1: great time for you to protect your investments with gold
- 1:26Speaker 1: and silver. No, you didn't miss the opportunity. No, it's
- 1:28Speaker 1: not too late. So calling it the Investor's Guide from
- 1:31Speaker 1: the company that not only do I use, but I
- 1:33Speaker 1: also trust online at Legacy PM Investments dot com. That's
- 1:39Speaker 1: Legacy PM Investments dot com. You can also call them
- 1:43Speaker 1: and get the Investor's Guide for free. One eight six
- 1:46Speaker 1: six seven five one twenty two eighteen one eight six
- 1:51Speaker 1: six seven five one twenty two eighteen. Now this started
- 1:55Speaker 1: to break Sunday morning when Republican Senator to me went
- 2:01Speaker 1: on TV and said something that started to make massive
- 2:06Speaker 1: waves through the inner workings of Washing INDC. That is
- 2:10Speaker 1: when my phone started blowing up. I knew that there
- 2:14Speaker 1: was some legitimacy to this when I started getting phone
- 2:17Speaker 1: calls from people in the gun industry, including those with
- 2:22Speaker 1: advocacy groups, who are asking me what I've been what
- 2:26Speaker 1: I've been hearing from different senators and congressmen that I'm
- 2:29Speaker 1: close to. I then started making phone calls. Many of
- 2:33Speaker 1: them were shocked at how quickly apparently some Republicans have
- 2:39Speaker 1: started to cave on this issue of gun control because
- 2:42Speaker 1: they believe now that your Second Amendment right is not absolute,
- 2:48Speaker 1: which is one of the talking points that Joe Biden
- 2:50Speaker 1: has been using over and over again. When we had
- 2:54Speaker 1: this mass shooting in Texas and also the one in Buffalo.
- 2:57Speaker 1: He has lied to the American people saying, for example,
- 3:00Speaker 1: you couldn't own a cannon when the Second Amendment was written.
- 3:03Speaker 1: That is also a lie, a lie that the fact
- 3:05Speaker 1: checkers have checked, and he keeps telling that lie. Then
- 3:09Speaker 1: he want to step further this week, and many people
- 3:11Speaker 1: were scratching their heads and asking themselves this important question.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Why did Joe Biden start attacking nine millimeter weapons? He
- 3:22Speaker 1: said that a nine millimeter would quote blow your lungs
- 3:26Speaker 1: out of your body if you're shot with it. That's
- 3:28Speaker 1: a lie. It is because apparently they had been doing
- 3:32Speaker 1: some vote counting in DC and they realize that they
- 3:36Speaker 1: have possibly as many as half of the Republicans in
- 3:40Speaker 1: the Senate that are willing to work with the Democrats
- 3:44Speaker 1: on gun control. Now, you may not realize how these
- 3:48Speaker 1: votes work. So I'm going to get down into the minutian.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I will say it again please share our podcast with
- 3:54Speaker 1: your family and friends, because this is when you need
- 3:57Speaker 1: to get loud. This is when you need to be
- 3:59Speaker 1: calling your congressman and your sentator. Do not take them
- 4:02Speaker 1: for granted if they have an RNX to their name.
- 4:05Speaker 1: What has happened so far is there apparently has not
- 4:07Speaker 1: been any basically advocacy going on in Washington for the
- 4:13Speaker 1: Second Amendment for the right to bear arms. They now
- 4:18Speaker 1: believe that the support of the Second Amendment is wavering
- 4:24Speaker 1: when it comes to quote, assault weapons and a R
- 4:27Speaker 1: fifteens now centator to me, went on face the nation
- 4:33Speaker 1: and really, in a way I think kind of grandstand.
- 4:37Speaker 1: He started a grandstand because he said, in his words,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you this exact sentence and listen. Because
- 4:42Speaker 1: Pat Toomey is a guy. He's not like an AOC. Okay,
- 4:46Speaker 1: he's not a he's not a flamethrower type of guy. Okay,
- 4:50Speaker 1: he's not a Donald Trump. He's not going to go
- 4:53Speaker 1: out there and really talk smack. He doesn't do that.
- 4:56Speaker 1: It's not his style. So when a Pat Toomey said
- 4:58Speaker 1: something like this, I you need to pay great attention
- 5:01Speaker 1: to what he's actually saying and what he said was quote,
- 5:06Speaker 1: my hope is will get half of the Senate Republicans
- 5:11Speaker 1: to vote for a deal. Now, they're not calling it
- 5:13Speaker 1: gun control, they're calling it a gun deal. Now. Senor
- 5:18Speaker 1: Pat Toomey, who is a Republican from Pennsylvania, apparently started
- 5:23Speaker 1: with older quote statesman's in his statement in the Senate
- 5:27Speaker 1: and wanted to talk to people that may not run
- 5:30Speaker 1: for reelection. He says that he does believe now that
- 5:34Speaker 1: at least half of his Republican colleagues in the Senate
- 5:37Speaker 1: would vote for a gun package. He's currently negotiating with
- 5:40Speaker 1: the Democrats. Now, if that's the other part that needs
- 5:43Speaker 1: to be sending up red flags to all of you,
- 5:48Speaker 1: Why are the Republicans even negotiating on a gun package? Now,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I'm going to take you back to the House. We
- 5:56Speaker 1: were just talking about the Senate, and this is connecting
- 5:58Speaker 1: those dots. Earlier this week, there was gun legislation that
- 6:04Speaker 1: was brought up and pushed in the House, and Representative Squalwell,
- 6:08Speaker 1: a hardcore lefty who is a leader of the anti
- 6:11Speaker 1: gun movement of the younger generation the House of Representatives,
- 6:15Speaker 1: was pretty blunt about what he thought about a R fifteens.
- 6:18Speaker 1: He's now saying and using this, and this is going
- 6:21Speaker 1: to be I think the talking point you're going to
- 6:23Speaker 1: see from all Democrats across the board, and that is this,
- 6:26Speaker 1: we are a country of unrestricted weaponry. I've heard that
- 6:31Speaker 1: line for the last seventy two hours from Democrats all
- 6:35Speaker 1: over the country, some of them running for elections, some
- 6:37Speaker 1: of them not on TV and in different things. They
- 6:41Speaker 1: are going to keep saying this phrase, we are quote
- 6:43Speaker 1: a country of unrestricted weaponry. They also are going to
- 6:48Speaker 1: say that we've debunked the idea that good guys with
- 6:51Speaker 1: a gun stopped the bad guys with a gun. In fact,
- 6:54Speaker 1: they're making the argument that are even our police, who
- 6:57Speaker 1: are the good guys with a gun, cannot stop the
- 7:01Speaker 1: bad guys with the guns. And they say, here's why,
- 7:04Speaker 1: because we've allowed the bad guys to buy these horrible weapons,
- 7:08Speaker 1: these AR fifteens, these AK forty sevens, We've allowed them
- 7:13Speaker 1: to buy them, and now they're outgunning our police. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: this is their closing argument to the American people, These
- 7:21Speaker 1: weapons of war are need to be restricted because we're
- 7:25Speaker 1: a country of unrestricted weaponry, and that's why crimes out
- 7:28Speaker 1: of control in this country. Forget the fact, they're the
- 7:30Speaker 1: ones that actually moved to defund the police. If you
- 7:34Speaker 1: want to know why crime is out of control in
- 7:35Speaker 1: this country, and especially in liberal states and liberal cities,
- 7:40Speaker 1: it is because liberals have defunded the police. They have
- 7:43Speaker 1: decided to not prosecute people for crimes. They've done what
- 7:47Speaker 1: they referred to as bail reform in prison reformer, they
- 7:49Speaker 1: want to let out as many people as they possibly
- 7:51Speaker 1: can from actually going to jail. And Representive Squawell was
- 7:56Speaker 1: making really the opening argument for this bill in the Senate,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and here is what he had to say. Now, you're
- 8:01Speaker 1: going to disagree. If you're a conservative that understands the Constitution,
- 8:05Speaker 1: if you understand the Second Amendment, you are gonna want
- 8:10Speaker 1: to yell at the audio I'm about to play for you.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Don't do that. I want you to listen to his
- 8:19Speaker 1: argument so that you understand how to fight back against it.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And I also want you to listen to how he
- 8:24Speaker 1: talks about this legislation. The reason why I say that
- 8:26Speaker 1: is because you wouldn't be making the speech that Representatives
- 8:30Speaker 1: Squalwell is making unless you were really close on the
- 8:33Speaker 1: votes you need to pass a massive gun control bill
- 8:37Speaker 1: in the United States Congress that includes the House and
- 8:40Speaker 1: the Senate. Listen to Squalwell and his logic. What we
- 8:45Speaker 1: have come to see across America is that our law
- 8:48Speaker 1: enforcement are just outgunned. We're a country of unrestricted weaponry
- 8:55Speaker 1: that continues to put the most dangerous weapons in the
- 8:58Speaker 1: hands of the most dangerous people. So we could hire
- 9:01Speaker 1: one hundred thousand retired police officers, but if we are
- 9:05Speaker 1: a country that has over one hundred million assault rifles,
- 9:10Speaker 1: they're just outgunned. And that's what we saw in Evalde,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and tragically, in twenty sixteen in Dallas, Texas, five brave
- 9:20Speaker 1: police officers, SWAT trained police officers were murdered by a
- 9:26Speaker 1: killer with an assault rifle. So I think we've debunked
- 9:31Speaker 1: the idea that the answer to a killer with an
- 9:35Speaker 1: assault rifle is to have more quote unquote good guys
- 9:39Speaker 1: with guns. The good guys with guns are outgunned by
- 9:43Speaker 1: the bad guys that we've given guns in our country.
- 9:48Speaker 1: That is the closing argument for the Democrats on why
- 9:51Speaker 1: we should ban these firearms. This is the game plan
- 9:57Speaker 1: for how to take away your right to protect into
- 10:00Speaker 1: and your family. You just heard it. You now know
- 10:04Speaker 1: what the mindset is of the House with Representative Squalwell
- 10:09Speaker 1: saying that we are quote a country of unrestricted weaponry,
- 10:13Speaker 1: and we and this they're his words, and we've debunked
- 10:15Speaker 1: the idea of good guys with guns, stop bad guys
- 10:17Speaker 1: with guns. He says that the police are outgunned. He
- 10:19Speaker 1: says that you are outgun it's because we gave them
- 10:22Speaker 1: these guns. Those are his words, and he said, look
- 10:27Speaker 1: look at what we saw on you Valding. And tragically,
- 10:29Speaker 1: in twenty and sixteen in Dallas, Texas, quote, five brave
- 10:32Speaker 1: police officers swat train police officers were murdered by a
- 10:36Speaker 1: killer with an assault rifle. So I think we have
- 10:38Speaker 1: debunked the idea that the answer to a killer with
- 10:41Speaker 1: an assault rifle is to have more quote unquote good
- 10:45Speaker 1: guys with guns. The good guys with guns are outgunned
- 10:48Speaker 1: by the bad guys, and we've given guns. We've given
- 10:51Speaker 1: them the guns in this country, in our country. So
- 10:55Speaker 1: the votes are there in the House. That's what I
- 10:57Speaker 1: think you're hearing. And I don't think Squalwell would be
- 11:00Speaker 1: making these statements without him doing the vote count. And
- 11:03Speaker 1: I've been told now by two different senators tonight when
- 11:07Speaker 1: I sent messages that they said, if the vote was tonight,
- 11:12Speaker 1: they do believe in the Senate they have the votes
- 11:14Speaker 1: to pass gun control. Did you hear me? And this
- 11:18Speaker 1: is because we've not been loud enough and we've not
- 11:21Speaker 1: been calling our Republican congressman, senators. Democrats cannot do this
- 11:26Speaker 1: without us. When I say us, they cannot do it
- 11:30Speaker 1: without the Republican Party. They cannot do it without the
- 11:32Speaker 1: Republican Rhinos. They cannot do it without the swamp. Okay,
- 11:38Speaker 1: understand that, which brings me to the Senate and the
- 11:44Speaker 1: Republican Senator Pat Toomey. Listen carefully to what he said
- 11:50Speaker 1: on face the nation. Now, why did he put this
- 11:52Speaker 1: out there? Because he's trying to see what the pushback
- 11:55Speaker 1: will be. And when I say pushback, it's not for him,
- 11:59Speaker 1: it's for his Republican colleagues. As he's counting, you know,
- 12:02Speaker 1: there's a lot of them. They're saying to them, hey,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm kind of moving forward this. Hey I probably would
- 12:07Speaker 1: vote for it, but I want to see some polling.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I want to see if there is outrage. I want
- 12:11Speaker 1: to see if people will totally come after me, reject me,
- 12:14Speaker 1: and be angry with me right, That's that's what he's saying.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So Pat Toomey's like, I got this. I'll go on TV.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I'll tell people that half the Republicans are looking like
- 12:28Speaker 1: they're gonna do this with me. And then you guys,
- 12:30Speaker 1: see what your phone calls look like all next week,
- 12:33Speaker 1: how much of your base you're gonna lose. So I'm
- 12:40Speaker 1: gonna play for you now again, Listen to this, I
- 12:43Speaker 1: tell people, don't be angry, don't roll your eyes. Okay,
- 12:47Speaker 1: don't go give me a break. Pat Toomey, you suck.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Listen to his logic and what he's saying, because you're
- 12:52Speaker 1: gonna learn. We need to actually listen to their argument
- 12:56Speaker 1: so we know how to beat them. We turned out
- 12:59Speaker 1: of the pen Sylvania Republican Senator Pat Toomey. He is
- 13:02Speaker 1: one of the senators involved in bipartisan efforts to reduce
- 13:07Speaker 1: By the way, that's the number one lie that yet
- 13:09Speaker 1: to understand about what It scares the hell out of
- 13:11Speaker 1: me with Pat Toomey and these other Republicans. They say
- 13:14Speaker 1: they're on this bipartisan panel to reduce gun violence. That
- 13:18Speaker 1: is a lie. This is not about reducing gun violence.
- 13:23Speaker 1: This is about gun control. And they're wrapping it in
- 13:27Speaker 1: a package that they can describe as oh, no, no, no,
- 13:31Speaker 1: this is not us going for gun control. This is
- 13:35Speaker 1: us going for quote, reducing gun violence. Two totally different things, right,
- 13:41Speaker 1: That's how they're going to sell this, and the media
- 13:44Speaker 1: is helping them do it. That's why she introduced it
- 13:47Speaker 1: that way. Listeners to this as a Republican Senator Pat Toomey,
- 13:50Speaker 1: Listen to what he's sang working with the Democrats. Senator, welcome,
- 13:55Speaker 1: good Margaret. The numbers are pretty staggering here. There have
- 13:58Speaker 1: been two hundred and thirty nine mass shootings in twenty
- 14:01Speaker 1: twenty two, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which is
- 14:04Speaker 1: a nonprofit that tracks these. Overnight, there was one in Philadelphia,
- 14:08Speaker 1: three people killed, fourteen injured using a semi automatic weapon.
- 14:14Speaker 1: What has happened to the American people that has taken
- 14:17Speaker 1: violence to this level? Yeah, well, it's a it's a
- 14:21Speaker 1: complex and multifaceted problem, as you know, Margaret. In some
- 14:25Speaker 1: cases criminality and our big cities has escalated enormously. There's
- 14:31Speaker 1: a lot of factors contributing to that. In some cases,
- 14:34Speaker 1: it's district attorneys who think their job is to make
- 14:36Speaker 1: sure no one goes to jail. That's a problem. And
- 14:39Speaker 1: then of course we have these these horrific, sensational massacres
- 14:44Speaker 1: where a young man clearly has just gone completely off
- 14:48Speaker 1: the rails and is deranged, and that's a very different
- 14:51Speaker 1: set of circumstances. So it's a it's a big complicated problem.
- 14:56Speaker 1: By the way, you noticed how he did not talk
- 14:58Speaker 1: about gun control there, right, Look at this, it's about
- 15:01Speaker 1: reducing gun violence. That's how we masquerade this, That's how
- 15:04Speaker 1: we sign you up to buy into this. This is
- 15:07Speaker 1: how we pull on the heartstrings of conservative women, specifically
- 15:11Speaker 1: in mothers, and that's what they're betting on here, is
- 15:14Speaker 1: that they can get enough conservative women to break with
- 15:17Speaker 1: their husbands or their old school hunting families and say, look,
- 15:22Speaker 1: I support a Republican who gets rid of quote these
- 15:25Speaker 1: assault weapons because I'm in favor of saving lives. The
- 15:29Speaker 1: marketing of this is absolutely brilliant, and that's why Pat
- 15:35Speaker 1: Toomey is leading the way on this. He's marketing this,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and it's extremely smart marketing because the entire first statement
- 15:42Speaker 1: there was not about guns, right, It's about saving lives.
- 15:45Speaker 1: So let's move to the second part of the conversation.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Question number two Fumen. Most attempts to try to create
- 15:53Speaker 1: any kind of solution have stopped. But Democrats and Republicans
- 15:57Speaker 1: we just mentioned are negotiating right now to get something.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Democrats need ten Republican votes. You're one of six Republicans
- 16:05Speaker 1: working with Senator Chris Murphy. He said today that you
- 16:09Speaker 1: all are writing this legislation right now. It will not
- 16:12Speaker 1: ban assault weapons, it will not have comprehensive background checks.
- 16:17Speaker 1: As part of it. Is your proposal to expand background
- 16:21Speaker 1: checks still in it. Now. Notice what she just said
- 16:26Speaker 1: there and understand it. Wow, we were being told that
- 16:30Speaker 1: you're doing this bill without background checks in there, and
- 16:33Speaker 1: without assault weapons bans in there. Okay, so immediately you
- 16:42Speaker 1: should take a big deep breath right and say, oh,
- 16:44Speaker 1: everything's going to be fine. No, you shouldn't, And the
- 16:49Speaker 1: reason why you shouldn't is because you're about to understand
- 16:51Speaker 1: how they're going to lie to you until the very
- 16:53Speaker 1: last moment. Listen to the response from this Republican Senator
- 16:58Speaker 1: Pat Toomey. Well, I certainly hope we're going to have
- 17:03Speaker 1: an expansion of background checks. You know, Senator Mansion and
- 17:05Speaker 1: I have been working on this for a long time
- 17:07Speaker 1: and we've tried to establish that at least for commercial
- 17:11Speaker 1: sales of firearms there ought to be a background check,
- 17:14Speaker 1: So sales at gun shows, sales that are advertised over
- 17:17Speaker 1: the internet. I don't know that we'll get exactly what
- 17:22Speaker 1: Senator Mansion and I developed some years ago. It would
- 17:24Speaker 1: probably be something different than that, And that's fine. There
- 17:26Speaker 1: are a number of mechanisms you could use to expand
- 17:29Speaker 1: background checks, but I just think it makes sense. We
- 17:32Speaker 1: all agree that violent criminals and deranged, dangerously mentally ill
- 17:37Speaker 1: people shouldn't have firearms. So we need a mechanism to
- 17:40Speaker 1: increase the likelihood that will identify such a person and
- 17:44Speaker 1: prevent them from buying a gun legally anyway. And so
- 17:48Speaker 1: that's the idea behind expanding background checks. All right, So
- 17:51Speaker 1: it's not going to happen centator, is it? Well? I
- 17:53Speaker 1: certainly hope it does. Okay, So the first thing that
- 17:58Speaker 1: the reporter said was not in the bill is in
- 18:02Speaker 1: the bill. When I tell you that if you care
- 18:06Speaker 1: about your Second Amendment rights, you need to pay attention
- 18:09Speaker 1: and you need to get involved, this is exactly why
- 18:12Speaker 1: I'm warning you. This is me throwing up the fireworks,
- 18:16Speaker 1: the red flag that whatever, and telling you listen, please,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you need to call right now. You need to call
- 18:28Speaker 1: your congressman, you need to call your senator. If they're
- 18:31Speaker 1: a Republican, the Democrat's already gone. They're ready to sign
- 18:35Speaker 1: this thing, seal it up, deliver it, and go here
- 18:38Speaker 1: you go. Okay, that's their thing. They have no problem
- 18:41Speaker 1: with this bill. They've been wanting it for years, and
- 18:44Speaker 1: now they're getting close because they're changing the way that
- 18:46Speaker 1: you market it. They're changing the way that you sell it.
- 18:51Speaker 1: This is how you sell it, folks, and they're finally
- 18:54Speaker 1: getting smart enough to realize, you don't call it gun control.
- 18:57Speaker 1: You call it saving a life, you call it, you know, protection,
- 19:01Speaker 1: you don't call it gun control. And then you lie
- 19:03Speaker 1: to people about what's in the bill. Now, Republican Pat
- 19:07Speaker 1: Toomey was on face the nation. Pat Toomey, by the way,
- 19:12Speaker 1: is a very vanilla guy. Okay. I said this earlier
- 19:16Speaker 1: and I'll say it again. He's not a grandstander. He's
- 19:18Speaker 1: not a guy that's out there trying to, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 1: you know, get every headline and get into Twitter wars
- 19:24Speaker 1: with people. And he's not he's that's just not his
- 19:26Speaker 1: m But what he's been advocating for for a long time,
- 19:30Speaker 1: is doing some things on gun control. But he's smart.
- 19:33Speaker 1: He doesn't call it that. He calls about protecting people
- 19:35Speaker 1: and things. It's very smart. Now, Lie number one is
- 19:39Speaker 1: about this bill and Face the Nation set this up
- 19:42Speaker 1: brilliantly with the Senator. Well, we've been told in this
- 19:45Speaker 1: bill that there's not going to be gun control. We've
- 19:48Speaker 1: been told in this buildre would not be background checks.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Is that still true, senator? And the Senator said, well,
- 19:55Speaker 1: we certainly hope that there's going to be background check
- 19:58Speaker 1: movement in this bill. We certainly hope that that's going
- 20:04Speaker 1: to happen. Well, if you're the guy right in the
- 20:06Speaker 1: damn bill, then you know that you're going to put
- 20:08Speaker 1: it in the bill. You're That's the reason why he's
- 20:12Speaker 1: on TV. That's the reason why he's unfaced the nation
- 20:14Speaker 1: because he is literally the guy. Okay, he's literally the
- 20:19Speaker 1: guy who is writing the bill or leading the writing
- 20:23Speaker 1: of this bill. So the idea you say, well, I
- 20:26Speaker 1: certainly hope that these measures will be in the bill.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Of course they're going to be in the bill. You're
- 20:31Speaker 1: the guy doing it. But if they lull you to
- 20:34Speaker 1: sleep and you're not paying attention. You're not calling your
- 20:36Speaker 1: center and you're not calling your congressman. This is how
- 20:39Speaker 1: this happens. And all of a sudden, before you know it,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you're like Canada. Look at Canada. Look at what has
- 20:44Speaker 1: happened in Canada. Canada, folks, Canada. This is how quick
- 20:48Speaker 1: it happens. They come out. Trudeau comes out after the
- 20:51Speaker 1: people in Canada stood up to the government for the
- 20:54Speaker 1: first time really in my lifetime, on vaccine mandates. Okay,
- 20:58Speaker 1: that's what happened, That's what with a this was. And
- 21:01Speaker 1: they use their eighteen wheelers and they came in. They
- 21:03Speaker 1: started treating them like domestic terrorists. Do not forget that.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And the people that were helping the truckers and bring
- 21:08Speaker 1: in the diesel to keep their trucks going, they treated
- 21:10Speaker 1: them like domestic terrorists. They categorize them and rested them
- 21:14Speaker 1: and seize their cards and their belongings as domestic terrorists.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And they realize, holy crap, these people are out of control.
- 21:24Speaker 1: They're standing up to us where you're supposed to dictate
- 21:26Speaker 1: to them. They're supposed to be our minions. What do
- 21:29Speaker 1: we do now, Well, we take away their guns. And
- 21:32Speaker 1: they didn't just take away their guns. They took away
- 21:33Speaker 1: the right to protect and defend themselves with handguns. You
- 21:36Speaker 1: can no longer buy, sell or transfer a handgun in Canada.
- 21:39Speaker 1: That's what Trudeau said. And this is in Canada. So
- 21:43Speaker 1: if you think that, we're like, oh, I don't need
- 21:45Speaker 1: to be involved right now, right because it's gonna be fine.
- 21:48Speaker 1: They're not gonna there's no way they'll actually pass this legislation.
- 21:52Speaker 1: This is not really gonna happen. We'll call your friends
- 21:55Speaker 1: in Canada and ask them what just happened to them.
- 21:58Speaker 1: If you listen to me very often, you know I
- 22:01Speaker 1: am not an alarmist. I'm not an activist talk show host. Okay,
- 22:06Speaker 1: I'm a commentator. I'll tell you what's going on, tell
- 22:09Speaker 1: you why it's happening. I'm more analyze it and explain
- 22:12Speaker 1: it to you and then come up with a way
- 22:14Speaker 1: to fight back or logical ways to undermine their arguments.
- 22:18Speaker 1: But I'm usually not on here beating the death. So
- 22:20Speaker 1: I can call your senator and congressmen, mostly because I
- 22:22Speaker 1: think they suck, mostly because I know in reality they
- 22:26Speaker 1: don't listen to us. But on this issue, guns is
- 22:28Speaker 1: a third rail, and we just had the third rail
- 22:33Speaker 1: blown up with abortion, right, So why not go all right,
- 22:36Speaker 1: you guys are gonna do this on abortion. That will
- 22:38Speaker 1: blow up the third rail on our side, which is
- 22:40Speaker 1: part of the logic here. You get enough people in
- 22:46Speaker 1: the media beating the drum for enough years as well
- 22:48Speaker 1: as we've witnessed, and you get enough of these shootings
- 22:50Speaker 1: on TV where you can exploit them and never let
- 22:53Speaker 1: a quote tragedy go to waste, which is what they
- 22:56Speaker 1: say Democrats say that, then you can finally get enough
- 23:01Speaker 1: people around you and say, you know what, screw it,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I'm in. You can get that, you can finally get
- 23:07Speaker 1: enough people are in and around you that they say,
- 23:09Speaker 1: all right, I'm in, I'll do it. Why not, right, like,
- 23:14Speaker 1: let's do it. Fine, I'll do it. So let's go
- 23:19Speaker 1: to that second part of the question. Center to me.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Listen to this from Face the Nation, So to be clear,
- 23:25Speaker 1: because you had proposed the mansion to me background check
- 23:29Speaker 1: expansion in twenty thirteen, twenty fifteen, twenty nineteen, you're saying
- 23:34Speaker 1: what's surviving right now is essentially a watered down version
- 23:38Speaker 1: of that. How is it different? Well, this is a
- 23:45Speaker 1: moving target, if you will. We're still in discussions and
- 23:49Speaker 1: we are still trying to figure out exactly what mechanism
- 23:54Speaker 1: is going to enable us to get the votes that
- 23:56Speaker 1: we would need. So so I can't be precise about that, Marrid.
- 24:00Speaker 1: It hasn't been finally resolved, but something in the space
- 24:03Speaker 1: of expanding background checks I think is very well. It
- 24:07Speaker 1: certainly is on the table, and I hope will be
- 24:10Speaker 1: part of a final package. Well, we see overwhelming support
- 24:13Speaker 1: in our CBS polling for background checks, which is why
- 24:17Speaker 1: it's interesting that it's difficult there it is, there's your
- 24:21Speaker 1: there's your your clothes from her. Well, the American people
- 24:25Speaker 1: overwhelmingly support this, advocate for it, and want it. We're
- 24:28Speaker 1: behind you, Senor. To me, we want you to have this.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Senter to me, we love what you're doing here to me,
- 24:33Speaker 1: don't give up, Senor to me, make stands strong to me,
- 24:36Speaker 1: make sure that you're there. To me, we want you
- 24:38Speaker 1: to be there. To me, we want you to advocate
- 24:40Speaker 1: for this. To me, we want you to do this.
- 24:42Speaker 1: To me. We're right here with you too me. Senator,
- 24:46Speaker 1: you're doing a great thing. We need you. We here
- 24:49Speaker 1: at CBS News and our poll shows overwhelming support, right,
- 24:55Speaker 1: overwhelming support for this and we need you to really
- 24:58Speaker 1: be there, We need you to to keep pushing, and
- 25:01Speaker 1: we're going to give you the cover that you need
- 25:03Speaker 1: to do it. That was the conversation you literally just heard, right.
- 25:10Speaker 1: That's it, Folks like that. That's the actual conversation. So
- 25:14Speaker 1: she says, let's move on because they're not done. They
- 25:17Speaker 1: need your guns, folks. But this isn't about guns, No,
- 25:20Speaker 1: this is about this is about saving lives. Bill. There
- 25:23Speaker 1: was a Republican congressman in the state of New York.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I'm sure you heard about this, Chris Jacobs. He represents
- 25:28Speaker 1: the district around Buffalo where there was that awful mass
- 25:31Speaker 1: shooting just a few weeks ago. He dropped out of
- 25:34Speaker 1: his reelection race after seven days after he publicly endorsed
- 25:38Speaker 1: a federal assault weapons ban and limits on high capacity magazines.
- 25:42Speaker 1: This is what he had to say. We have a
- 25:46Speaker 1: problem in our country in terms of both our major parties.
- 25:54Speaker 1: If you stray from a party position, you are annihilated.
- 25:59Speaker 1: For the Republicans. It it became pretty apparent to me
- 26:02Speaker 1: over the last week that issue is gun control, any
- 26:06Speaker 1: gun control. Do you agree with him? No, I don't.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I think there's a wide range of opinions among elected Republicans,
- 26:17Speaker 1: just as there are among Republican voters across the country.
- 26:21Speaker 1: In my case, I wrote a bill with Senator Mansion
- 26:24Speaker 1: and advocated for expanding background checks in twenty thirteen. As
- 26:28Speaker 1: you pointed out again in twenty fifteen, we right, but
- 26:30Speaker 1: you couldn't get enough Republicans get elected. I was. I
- 26:35Speaker 1: was reelected without a primary challenge, So I think that
- 26:39Speaker 1: that tells you something also, Well, excuse me, I'm sorry
- 26:44Speaker 1: my voice. The President himself has campaigned on this idea
- 26:49Speaker 1: that he can be a deal broker. Does he need
- 26:52Speaker 1: to get involved or does the involvement of the president
- 26:56Speaker 1: lessen the chances of success here? Yeah? The problem is
- 27:01Speaker 1: I think the president might have been a president who
- 27:03Speaker 1: would reach across the aisle try to bring people together,
- 27:06Speaker 1: but he's chosen not to take that approach. Since day one.
- 27:09Speaker 1: He has sided with the far left of his party
- 27:12Speaker 1: and really not reached out to Republicans. He gave a
- 27:16Speaker 1: speech on this topic where he advocated policies that he
- 27:19Speaker 1: knows for sure have no chance of passing the Senate,
- 27:22Speaker 1: probably couldn't even get fifty votes and hold the Democrats,
- 27:26Speaker 1: much less to get the sixty we would need, so
- 27:29Speaker 1: once again, the President is not being very helpful. I
- 27:31Speaker 1: think at the end of the day, this is going
- 27:33Speaker 1: to come down to whether we can reach a consensus.
- 27:36Speaker 1: In the United States Senate, there are intensive discussions underway.
- 27:39Speaker 1: It includes people who have not been engaged on this
- 27:42Speaker 1: issue in the past. I certainly can't guarantee any outcome,
- 27:47Speaker 1: but it feels to me like we are closer than
- 27:49Speaker 1: we've been since I've been in the Senate. That last
- 27:54Speaker 1: sentence right there, it feels closer than it's ever been
- 28:01Speaker 1: since I've been the Senate. Quote. It includes people who
- 28:06Speaker 1: have not been engaged on this issue in the past.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I can't certainly guarantee any outcome, but it feels to
- 28:14Speaker 1: me like we are closer than we've been since I've
- 28:16Speaker 1: been in the Senate. That's a long time, folks. You
- 28:22Speaker 1: gotta understand. Pat Toomey has been around. He's a He's
- 28:25Speaker 1: not a first term senator. Okay. This is a guy
- 28:30Speaker 1: that took office in two and eleven. It's two twenty two.
- 28:35Speaker 1: He's been elected several times. He was a representative by
- 28:38Speaker 1: the way back in the nineties in Congress as a
- 28:41Speaker 1: as a Republican member of the House. So he's been
- 28:44Speaker 1: in Washington since nine nine, so he's been there for
- 28:46Speaker 1: twenty three years. And when he says this is the
- 28:51Speaker 1: closest we've ever been to getting something done like this,
- 28:55Speaker 1: he's not lying to you. He's telling you the truth,
- 28:57Speaker 1: which means you have an option as an American right now,
- 29:01Speaker 1: and you have a decision that you have to make.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Are you going to sit on your abs and do
- 29:06Speaker 1: nothing and assume that your Second Amendment rights are going
- 29:09Speaker 1: to be okay? Or are you going to call and
- 29:12Speaker 1: get involved with your congressman, your senators. Because I have
- 29:15Speaker 1: been told again I rarely text senators that I have numbers, right,
- 29:20Speaker 1: they get a million texts and I just I usually
- 29:22Speaker 1: don't do it. But every single one of the Republican
- 29:26Speaker 1: senators that I texted this past weekend all said to me,
- 29:31Speaker 1: this is the closest the Democrats have ever been to
- 29:34Speaker 1: passing an assault weapons ban. And as one senator said
- 29:39Speaker 1: to me today, if the vote was today, they believe
- 29:44Speaker 1: it would pass. Pat to me, put it this way, quote,
- 29:49Speaker 1: I can't certainly can't guarantee any outcome, but it feels
- 29:54Speaker 1: to me like we are closer than we've been since
- 29:56Speaker 1: I've been in the Senate. Now, the question is what
- 30:00Speaker 1: Republicans are going to the dark side to take away
- 30:05Speaker 1: your freedom and your Second Amendment rights. Well, that question
- 30:10Speaker 1: was basically asked, so you can get four other Republicans
- 30:15Speaker 1: to stand with you, the six who are negotiating. My
- 30:20Speaker 1: hope is will get a lot more than that. My
- 30:22Speaker 1: hopes will we'll get at least half the Republican conference. Um,
- 30:25Speaker 1: you know that that's that should be the goal here.
- 30:29Speaker 1: We're going to have to be realistic about what can
- 30:31Speaker 1: do that. Senator Murphy alluded to the idea that it's
- 30:35Speaker 1: not going to be everything certainly that Democrats would like. Um,
- 30:40Speaker 1: we'll see where it ends up. Is there a risk
- 30:42Speaker 1: that the Republican Party becomes associated with gun violence if
- 30:47Speaker 1: you can't get those votes? By the way I would
- 30:51Speaker 1: this is the part where Pat Toomey should have lost
- 30:54Speaker 1: it on this interview. Is there a point where the
- 31:00Speaker 1: Republican Party is worried that they are tied to gun
- 31:02Speaker 1: violence like we're advocating, Yes, Republicans are out there every
- 31:05Speaker 1: day advocating for people killing people. Are you kidding me?
- 31:08Speaker 1: We're the ones that are demanding truth and sentencing on
- 31:13Speaker 1: those that commit heinous gun crimes. We're the ones that
- 31:16Speaker 1: are demanding they actually lock people up. We're the ones
- 31:19Speaker 1: that are demanding more police. We're the ones that are
- 31:23Speaker 1: demanding that these activists das that refuse to put anybody
- 31:26Speaker 1: in jail for anything, including violent crimes with guns, stop
- 31:31Speaker 1: doing that. We are the ones that are demanding all
- 31:36Speaker 1: of the things that I just mentioned, every single one
- 31:38Speaker 1: of these things that we're the ones that are demanding it.
- 31:43Speaker 1: But there you are with a hard core liberal on
- 31:45Speaker 1: TV on Face Nation, Well you worried that the Republican
- 31:51Speaker 1: Party is going to be associated with this gun violence America.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Like you're the advocates. You're the ones supporting it, advocating
- 31:58Speaker 1: for it. Right, That's that's exactly what's being said here.
- 32:02Speaker 1: This is how bad the propaganda is, right, Like, this
- 32:06Speaker 1: is the propaganda. This is it, folks, This is the
- 32:09Speaker 1: ball game for them. This is how you set it up,
- 32:12Speaker 1: this is how you do it. And if Toomey was smarty,
- 32:15Speaker 1: would say, I reject the premise of your question. How absurd?
- 32:18Speaker 1: How dare you say that the Republican Party is the
- 32:22Speaker 1: party of death right? You're the guys that have been
- 32:25Speaker 1: supporting Black Lives Matter and in Tiefa that have been
- 32:27Speaker 1: torching and burning down cities for the last several years.
- 32:30Speaker 1: You're the ones that support that Black lives matter? Who chant?
- 32:33Speaker 1: What do we want dead cops when we want them now?
- 32:35Speaker 1: Pigs in a blanket? Fry them like Bacon's right, Death
- 32:40Speaker 1: to America? They chant in California and the Democratic Party
- 32:43Speaker 1: at the highest levels, including the President the Vice President,
- 32:46Speaker 1: have been advocating, supporting and telling people to donate to
- 32:49Speaker 1: Black Lives Matter. So does Pat Toomey get angry? No?
- 32:54Speaker 1: Why because he's one of them? Listen, you know, Look,
- 32:56Speaker 1: I think the Republicans have been are consistently supporters of
- 33:01Speaker 1: second Second Amendment rights. Republican voters expect Republicans to defend
- 33:06Speaker 1: the Second Amendment. I think there is a place to
- 33:09Speaker 1: land that's consistent with the Second Amendment. As I've been
- 33:12Speaker 1: advocating for expanding background checks. By the way, I think
- 33:16Speaker 1: encouraging states to have some kind of red flag laws
- 33:19Speaker 1: could make sense as long as there's an adequate due process.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I think there are school safety provisions, there are mental
- 33:25Speaker 1: health issues that we could address, So there are things
- 33:27Speaker 1: we could do that would be constructive that are consistent
- 33:30Speaker 1: with Republican values. And I'm hoping we'll get there. And
- 33:35Speaker 1: I'm hoping we'll get there. We'll guess what he's saying.
- 33:38Speaker 1: We're the closest we've ever been. So this is your
- 33:41Speaker 1: big warning. This is the big moment. This is where
- 33:44Speaker 1: I'm shooting off the fireworks into the night sky, trying
- 33:47Speaker 1: to get your attention. If you care about your Second
- 33:51Speaker 1: Amendment rights, now is the time you make the phone calls. Now,
- 33:54Speaker 1: this is when you call and you start asking questions
- 33:58Speaker 1: of your elected officials, and you start saying, where do
- 34:00Speaker 1: you stand on this? Because I'm not in favor of
- 34:03Speaker 1: gun control. I'm not in favor a banning our right
- 34:07Speaker 1: to bear arms. I'm not in favor of falling into
- 34:11Speaker 1: the logic today again the lies that a nine millimeter
- 34:14Speaker 1: blows the lungs out of the body, which is what
- 34:16Speaker 1: Joe Biden said. But if we don't wake up and
- 34:21Speaker 1: we don't pay attention, they're going to win this battle.
- 34:24Speaker 1: And you're gonna wake up one day and you're gonna go,
- 34:26Speaker 1: holy crap, just like they did in Canada. It just
- 34:29Speaker 1: happened in Canada, folks, right like this just happened in Canada,
- 34:36Speaker 1: it can happen overnight. I'm gonna be following this all week,
- 34:43Speaker 1: so make sure you grab our podcasts and keep listening.
- 34:47Speaker 1: But it's time for you to call your congressmen and

- 34:55Speaker 1: their constituent, where you stand and that your Second Amendment
- 34:58Speaker 1: rights are are not negotiable and shall not be infringed.
