- 0:31B -Side. The B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. B -Side.
- 0:35The B -Side thing. This is the B -Sides Boxing
- 0:38Podcast. Let me fucking affect us a formal introduction.
- 0:51The Boxing B -Sides. The boys are fucking back.
- 0:55The Boxing B -Side boys are back. Get all those
- 0:59B's up in your shit. Alex, the one and only,
- 1:03and Josh, welcome back. How you doing? Hell yeah.
- 1:09Fucking... I decided to skip the MMA stuff just
- 1:13because I'm not caught up on that either. Or
- 1:16caught up on that. I'm not. I did catch up on
- 1:19the boxing. Of course. Fucking the magic of editing.
- 1:24Who's going to know? It's a professional production.
- 1:29Yeah, I'm really good at this. Yeah. Yeah, I
- 1:34saw. I wanted to skip the MMA stuff just because
- 1:37I'm not caught up just yet, but I will be soon.
- 1:40So I'll probably bring it up next time or in
- 1:44a few weeks. I'll probably start talking about
- 1:46it again. But let's get straight into. The fucking
- 1:50boxing recaps. Ape Day. Ape Day, that's right.
- 1:56Saturday, April 5th. From fucking dusk till dawn,
- 2:00there was boxing. Lots of it. Starting first,
- 2:04Queensbury in Manchester in the UK. Now, there's
- 2:10a bunch of shit on this card that I'm sorry,
- 2:13British fellows. I don't fucking care. This card
- 2:17is kind of stinky. I'm excited for the main event.
- 2:21Yeah, I just picked a few. Average Queensborough
- 2:24card. With names I recognize, like Mark Chamberlain,
- 2:27points decision. I remember him because a Turkey
- 2:30motherfuck guy. He has, like, this weird fixation
- 2:37on Mark Chamberlain. So, yeah, there you go.
- 2:41Points decision. Well, Josh probably beat him.
- 2:44Oh, did he? That's excellent. Oh, right. This
- 2:49is, yeah. Jack Rafferty, stoppage in five. David
- 2:56Adelaide, or Adelaide. I kept fucking that up.
- 3:00Stoppage in five over TKV. And, oof, what a...
- 3:07I watched this. Filip Hergovich gets the UD over
- 3:13Joe Joyce. I watched this at the airport. While
- 3:18I was waiting for my flight. And I was... I had
- 3:22literally nothing else to do. I was bored out
- 3:25of my fucking mind. That was not a very enjoyable
- 3:29fight. Like, Joyce is so washed and Herkovich
- 3:34was just out of shape and not motivated. And
- 3:38not very good. Yeah. Herkovich reminds me of
- 3:42Jerry Anderson. He just doesn't want to do it.
- 3:46Doesn't want to do it anymore. He gives it...
- 3:48He kind of, like... He has those glimpses where
- 3:51he does. He also just has the, like, Jose Ramirez
- 3:55syndrome where he just shuts off. Autopilot.
- 3:58And coasts. Yeah, he's just, like, he's there,
- 4:01but he's not there. Which, like... Unfortunate.
- 4:05I mean, it's the only reason Joey's made it the
- 4:07distance. Because... Yeah, he was tagging him
- 4:10up plenty, but it's like he didn't have any instinct.
- 4:13The killer instinct to... go after a finish.
- 4:16The eye of the tiger, some would say. Honestly,
- 4:20I hate going the, you should retire, but like,
- 4:24Joyce is like the desecrated remains of a trapo.
- 4:29Oh. He's not polishing the furniture. He's cleaning
- 4:35up oil spills in the garage. He's a good one
- 4:39right now. And the boxing theory? Boxing hamper?
- 4:42Yeah, the boxing laundry. That boxing hamper,
- 4:44yeah. I don't know. Yeah, I'm not sure what else
- 4:49to take away from this other than both of these
- 4:51guys are not very good. Yeah. Good for Hergovich,
- 4:56I guess. Yeah, congrats. Get yourself another
- 4:58payday. You're going to get another fight and
- 5:01you're going to get your ass kicked if the competition
- 5:03has stepped up even like a smidgen of a degree.
- 5:07Yeah. Is Hergovich still with Matchroom, or is
- 5:11he signed with Queensborough now? He's doing
- 5:14whatever. Free agent? Yeah. But let's move on
- 5:20to something that was a little bit more fun.
- 5:23Just by a bit. Johnny Beck, Lim Kanuli, stops.
- 5:30Man, this is a tough one. Ngam Isenge. Ngam Isenge.
- 5:38Yeah, sounded out. All right, Alex, you're a
- 5:46big Johnny Beck fan. Am I mistaken in this? No,
- 5:49you're not mistaken at all. I'll tell you, I
- 5:51might be biased, but at the same time, all you
- 5:54got to do is watch that KO video, dude. That
- 5:56was nasty. That was a good knockout. I like that
- 6:01knockout a lot. Is it an early shortlist for...
- 6:08Knockout of the year? Potentially, yes, in my
- 6:11opinion. Might be a good nomination for the first
- 6:13half. I haven't seen a lot of good knockouts
- 6:16this half, so yeah, it's up there. It's early
- 6:20in the year. Yeah, it's early. Yeah, it's early
- 6:24right now. I'm glad that Jonabek is knocking
- 6:29out these guys properly. When you knock someone
- 6:35out, you make a statement, and that's how he
- 6:37becomes more well -known. 160 is desolate, but
- 6:42the best you can do is just actually knock out
- 6:45the guy in front of you. I mean, think about
- 6:47it. Betterbeef, at least before Bivol fought
- 6:51Canelo, Betterbeef was more known than Bivol.
- 6:54The only reason was because of knockouts. Yeah.
- 6:57You know what I mean? Bivol is a better fighter,
- 6:59but Betterbeef is known for his knockouts. You
- 7:03know, that's how you become known in boxing.
- 7:05You do knockouts. In my opinion. See, I don't
- 7:09want him to move up, but also 160 is so desolate
- 7:13that you almost have to. I was going to ask is
- 7:16how many more times can he do this before it's
- 7:20time? Like, dude, there's nobody there. I'm not
- 7:23sure what you want. I'm sure if he, give him
- 7:26the unification with Erzladi Lara, please. Finally
- 7:29put Lara out the pasture and then move up. Would
- 7:33be nice. They won't give him that payday. PBC
- 7:36will not do that. I think it would be better
- 7:38for Janabek to go to 168 and fight some guys
- 7:41there. He could even fight in Billy at 168. That
- 7:44could be an in -house fight. Yeah, I was going
- 7:46to ask. Who's available? Yeah. Well, there's
- 7:48a lot of guys available at 168. Canelo is going
- 7:51to be undisputed again, most likely. That or
- 7:54that. To be fair, he could also just go on a
- 7:58Euro tour because there's Hamza Shiraz and Chris
- 8:00Eubank at that weight class. Hamza, sheer ass.
- 8:06Yeah, he is sheer ass. But Hamza, he's not going
- 8:09to fight Hamza because at the simple point that
- 8:11Hamza won't fight him. Remember, Hamza was supposed
- 8:13to fight him. Yeah, fair enough. So that's not
- 8:18going to happen for a while. It's just tough.
- 8:20It's tough at 160 because there's like three
- 8:23people whose names you recognize and then you're
- 8:26just like, oh. All the other guys are just not
- 8:29that good. There's not even that good of talent
- 8:30there. Bruno Saras. 160? Yeah, because that's
- 8:36where he usually fights. Maybe. I guess. Emma
- 8:42Williams is with Mattroom, right? Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:45Yeah. I mean, the Canadian in me. It's the Canadian
- 8:51in me, but give Patrice Foley another shot. I
- 8:53don't know. I think that Johnny Beck does him
- 8:58pretty bad. Yeah, but he's only lost by decision.
- 9:04True. Honestly, he didn't lose to Falcao. He
- 9:08didn't really lose to Falcao. I think Jenebeck
- 9:11stops him. No, absolutely Jenebeck stops him.
- 9:13He's 35 and Canadian. Yeah. But give Patrice
- 9:18Volney a chance. Give this man a chance. I said
- 9:23this last time, and I'm going to say it again.
- 9:24I think Jenebeck should fight Canelo. That would
- 9:27be the best fight, in my opinion. He should.
- 9:30One of the best better fights. He rates it. I
- 9:32think he rates it. Josh, you agree with me? I
- 9:37would have disagreed with you like four years
- 9:39ago, but now we're in the era of him fighting
- 9:41Berlanga. Fuck it. Give me Janabek Canelo. Fighting
- 9:44Crawford. Berlanga and Munguia really destroyed
- 9:49my standard for a Canelo opponent. At least,
- 9:53Charlo, you could have argued. Triple G, Trilogy.
- 9:56Again, you could argue. Even Ryder. was a solid
- 10:00opponent at the time. Ryder was a mandatory.
- 10:02What does Berlanga really give? Money. Not even,
- 10:10bro. No one likes Berlanga. He sucks. Yeah. He's
- 10:16not that good of a fighter. He's not that good
- 10:18of a person. Low -key, the Christopher Lovejoy
- 10:21of Super Middleweight. Christopher Lovejoy? He's
- 10:26a... One of those meme heavyweights. He fought
- 10:2920 guys in Mexico and then lost to a Muhammad
- 10:32Char. Oh, okay. I didn't know the name. Because
- 10:37the only place I've heard Lovejoy as a name,
- 10:40someone's name is The Simpsons. Yeah. Reverend
- 10:44Lovejoy. 6 '5", 300 pounds. He's got 20 knockouts,
- 10:50though. I'm looking forward to Jandabek's future.
- 10:53Yeah, the only fights that are, like, really
- 10:56worth talking about with him, if it's not Adamas
- 11:00or Lara, who it probably won't be, like, everyone
- 11:05else that's worth a damn is at 68. I'm not sure
- 11:10how much longer you can keep can smashing. Yeah,
- 11:14because you're just going to run out of your
- 11:15prime at that point. Right. He's 32. No money.
- 11:18Yeah. He doesn't have a lot of time. Like, he's
- 11:22got time to go up. I disagree. I think probably
- 11:26he has another eight years if he wanted to. He
- 11:30hasn't taken a lot of career damage. At his peak,
- 11:32peak. At his peak. Oh, no, no, no. At his peak,
- 11:35no, no, no. But, I mean, the guy's honestly,
- 11:38the guy's kind of retired later on in the career
- 11:40nowadays. Yeah. But he's got the WBO. He can
- 11:45move up. have that mandatory position and either
- 11:49force a fight with someone notable in the WBO
- 11:53rankings or Canelo. Champs, in their rules, champs
- 11:58that move up get to challenge the champion. That's
- 12:01what I'm saying. If he wanted to, he can. He
- 12:03could if he wanted to. He totally can. So you
- 12:06can just force it. Well, that would be pretty
- 12:09good because, you know, that could probably throw
- 12:10off Turkey's whole game plan with Canelo of being
- 12:13undisputed. And if Top Rank only wants to stick
- 12:16it to Turkey, that would be a perfect way. It
- 12:19would be. Because the WBO does not fuck around
- 12:23with their titles, dude. They will strip you.
- 12:27Well, would they strip Canelo, though? Because
- 12:31that's money in the bank, so I don't think that
- 12:34they would strip him in particular. Well... Oh,
- 12:38no, it was the IVF that stripped him last time.
- 12:40That's right. Yes. Yeah, it was the IVF. The
- 12:42WBO wouldn't, but they'd create, like, interims.
- 12:45And basically, it would just be a way to build
- 12:47profile and get used to the weight class. So
- 12:50you get names. That's true. Hopefully, after
- 12:54Canelo retires, I really do want to see another
- 12:56Super 6 tournament. Yeah, like a Super Middleweight.
- 13:01For the WBO, it's Diego Pacheco at number one,
- 13:05Mbili at number two, Berlanga at number three.
- 13:08So all three of those are good fights. And Mbili's
- 13:13on your side of the street. Berlanga, no one
- 13:18wants him, so it's easy to just pay him and get
- 13:21him over to your side. Yep. Hell, Bruno Suarez
- 13:24is technically ranked. Question. Would Berlanga
- 13:30go back to top rank, though? I don't think so.
- 13:37For one fight? Maybe. It depends on how stupid
- 13:41he is. How stupid you think him and his management
- 13:45are. I don't have a very high esteem of Berlanga.
- 13:52Like he seems like the type of person to go,
- 13:55I can totally do this. Who the fuck is this Uzbek?
- 13:58And then get starched in two. I got a feeling
- 14:02he's going to become a PBC fighter. I don't know
- 14:04why. Well, he has a profile and they are pretty
- 14:09good about doing that. And you always need that.
- 14:13You need to build there. They do need to build
- 14:15their guys. Like you need to rebuild morale.
- 14:17Yeah, for sure. I mean, that's what Matt was
- 14:20going to do with him. You know. He sucks. He
- 14:24sucks at canned. Yeah. Yeah. Well. Jalilov. Jalilov.
- 14:32I want to talk about Jalilov. Yeah, that's what
- 14:34I was going to say. I've been kind of dying about
- 14:36it. Well, let's get to it. Oh, man. He doesn't
- 14:41look interested. In fighting? No, like in being
- 14:46a pro. He doesn't look that interested. Yeah,
- 14:53that's too bad. It can totally be an off night,
- 14:56but that was a stinking performance. You watched
- 15:00that fight, right? I did not, so I'm leaning
- 15:03on you guys to kind of give me the rundown of
- 15:06how was he? Why does he look like he doesn't
- 15:10want to be there, be here in the sport at large?
- 15:14Well, I disagree with what Josh says. I don't
- 15:19know about not wanting to be in the sport. However,
- 15:21the guy he fought was... Imagine the Ukrainian
- 15:23Butterbean. Oh, geez. Yeah. And he went the distance
- 15:27with that. Just throwing one -twos. Like, the
- 15:31jabs just didn't... Like, he didn't look interested
- 15:33in stepping out of first gear, is what I mean.
- 15:36Okay. Or, like, showing any more dimensions.
- 15:39Like, he coasted off a one -two, hurt him a couple
- 15:42times, but didn't follow up. I agree. If anything,
- 15:47I... I think he just probably was interested
- 15:50in just pushing the initiative, I guess. I guess
- 15:53I could really do that then. But it's a bad sign
- 15:57at this stage because you can end up coasting
- 16:02when it matters. He hasn't even had 15 fights
- 16:05yet, and we're already plateauing with him. We'll
- 16:11see. We'll see what happens. But honestly, Jalalov.
- 16:16That was a horrible performance. I think it was
- 16:19worse than Jared Anderson's, in my opinion. So,
- 16:23serious question. We're going to be talking about
- 16:26him in a little bit. Jalalov, Richard Torres.
- 16:31Jalalov still wins. Jalalov still wins. Torres
- 16:34is so limited. It's no fault of Torres' own,
- 16:40but like... I forget how many times Jalilov beat
- 16:44him in the amateurs. Oh, shit. He didn't really
- 16:48step out of first gear there either. He basically
- 16:50stopped him in the amateurs in first gear. Yeah,
- 16:56he fucked him up. Is Jalilov like a superhero?
- 17:00And he's like ultimate power and he's just bored?
- 17:06He might be. He might be. But it's not going
- 17:12to be Torres. It's not going to be Torres who
- 17:15draws it out of him. Italma. That's the man.
- 17:21That's spicy. They're all in a collision course.
- 17:24Italma, Jalilov, and Richard Torres. They're
- 17:27going to be on a collision course. One of those
- 17:28fighters is not like the others. Yeah. Well,
- 17:33hey, you know what? We'll get into that right
- 17:35now with Richard Torres. But you know what? I'll
- 17:38try to make a case for him. All right. I'll try.
- 17:41I'll try. Anything more for Kazakhstan? Zauberbeck.
- 17:46I don't know if you were kind of paying attention,
- 17:49Josh, to Zauberbeck, but he seemed pretty good.
- 17:55Zauberbeck? Yeah. Zultan Zauberbeck. Yeah. I
- 17:58thought he did pretty good. Because I know that
- 18:01car was also kind of during the Queensbury car,
- 18:03so maybe you could have been flip -flopping.
- 18:05Yeah. You ever feel like your online life isn't

- 20:54Ramen .lvx .be. All right, moving to Australia
- 21:00before we get to Richard Torres. Just some ones
- 21:05that I wanted to mention. Andrei Mikhailovich,
- 21:08Johnny Beck's most previous opponent. He drops
- 21:12the ball, split decision. Cohen Mazudier. He's
- 21:17an Aussie. Scrappy guy. I've enjoyed his fights.
- 21:22Of all the ones I've seen, I've enjoyed them
- 21:24all. He's scrappy, fun. Cuts a good promo for
- 21:29being super religious. Still does it pretty well.
- 21:33And he beat the fucking shit out of Dan Hill.
- 21:38Oh, yeah. Oh, my goodness. Dan Hill's face was
- 21:41rearranged. That was rough. It was funny. I thought
- 21:45he was crying, but he couldn't get tears out
- 21:48because his face was so swollen. Oh, jeez. Wasn't
- 21:54as bad as Mario Barrios, though. No, not that
- 21:57bad. Tim Zhu stops Joey Spencer in the fourth.
- 22:03Joey Spencer's not that good, and this is a rebuild.
- 22:07Good bounce back, though. Good bounce back. Yeah,
- 22:09this is the rebuild for Tim Zhu. The road to
- 22:12the championship starts here. It's very easy
- 22:15to, like, look ahead and just trip over what's
- 22:19in front of you if you're a zoo. Yes. Yeah. Leo,
- 22:25I know last time we were talking about Tim Zoo
- 22:26and how you were mentioning how his dad wasn't
- 22:29in the corner. So I kind of want to go back to
- 22:33what we were talking about last time. Honestly,
- 22:35I should not have talking about it, but point
- 22:38stands. Continue. Honestly, like Tim Zoo, he
- 22:42looked the exact same. That's the last time he
- 22:45fought, which I hope that he was going to be
- 22:49a little – he would have a little more defense.
- 22:52You know what I mean? Yeah. I don't think he'll
- 22:55ever have the defense that he should, but he
- 22:58should refine his offensive game too. Yeah, sure.
- 23:02Because getting timed is his problem. It isn't
- 23:06the chin or it isn't like – like his lapses come
- 23:10from getting timed. Yeah, that's actually facts.
- 23:14And the thing is, I saw no difference between
- 23:16last year. Yeah, but it's also Joey Spencer.
- 23:19Right. So you don't really have to worry that
- 23:22much. You could have still seen a little bit
- 23:25of change, you know what I mean? If there was
- 23:27any, which there wasn't. Which, if there's not
- 23:31any change, he's going to get flipped in the
- 23:34future. And bad. Yeah. Absolutely. Give him T.
- 23:39Thurman. Cash out with Keith Thurman and then
- 23:42maybe Ben's fight. Yeah, Sven's still around.
- 23:48And then Charlo. Charlo, that's still a good
- 23:52fight to make. I feel like Jesus Ramos is that
- 23:56perfect. Like, after cashing out against, cashing
- 23:59Spence out, Jesus Ramos, and then you really
- 24:03see if he's actually back still all there. Yeah.
- 24:07Because, like, Ramos is super beatable if he's
- 24:09there. But if he's not there, then... Good fight
- 24:12may be Abel Ramos. I don't think Abel's a good
- 24:15one. Well, it's just a confidence builder, you
- 24:18know what I mean? Well, I suppose for that purpose,
- 24:22yes. You know, getting out knocked out like that,
- 24:24you still need some confidence boosters, you
- 24:26know what I mean? Yeah. That's why they gave
- 24:29him Joey Spencer. I think they should have another
- 24:31fight, maybe two, of confidence boosters. until
- 24:35he can get up to something like the rankings
- 24:38amongst the champions. You know what I mean?
- 24:42Is Keith Thurman a good – is he in the confidence
- 24:45booster level? No, I'm sorry. See, I have no
- 24:52idea how washed Keith Thurman is or not. Does
- 24:55anybody ever? Nobody's ever – Yeah, he lost to
- 25:00Pacquiao, but – Pacquiao. No, you can say so
- 25:04many things about that performance, and that
- 25:06was six fucking years ago, and then he beat the
- 25:10shit out of Mario Barrios. Went on to become
- 25:13a champion, so the win ages pretty well. That
- 25:17win ages really well, but... Wait, does it age
- 25:21with Mario Barrios' skill? If they rematched?
- 25:24No, I'm saying with Mario Barrios and how you've
- 25:27kind of seen him fight. Last couple years. Does
- 25:29it really age well? It ages well compared to...
- 25:32He's the weakest champion of the three. That's
- 25:39what I mean. But 147. There's so much you can
- 25:43say about Keith Thurman. Is he there? Is he not?
- 25:47He has to be shot. He beat the dog shit out of
- 25:51Mario Barrios. Yeah. That's Mario Barrios. He's
- 25:56not great. He hasn't panned out as well as I
- 25:59thought. The things that you expect, like when
- 26:06you think of Keith Thurman as shot, you think
- 26:09of him as like shot, shot, especially with the
- 26:12injuries that he had to come back from. Yeah.
- 26:15It's just the movement. He's been moving pretty
- 26:17good. And that's why I'm like, how shot is he
- 26:20really? I would like for Tim Zhu to determine
- 26:23that. Yes, please. Make it in Australia. Yeah,
- 26:29keep Keith in Australia. Have him beat up Aussies
- 26:33and he can do like a Floyd Mayweather -esque
- 26:36sort of career run. Yeah, he cuts a good promo
- 26:42too. He cuts a great promo. Yeah, he does. He
- 26:47would talk a lot of shit. Just play the heel.
- 26:50talk shit about the Aussies. None of your guys
- 26:54aren't good enough to be on my level and whatever.
- 26:57It would be great. Yeah, he would. Alright, anything
- 27:03more for Australia before we move on to... Nope.
- 27:08Fun stuff. Oh, man. At the Palms Resort in Vegas.
- 27:16Richard Torres gets the job done. Of all the
- 27:20other fights on the card, there's only two that
- 27:23I really wanted to mention. Did I miss anything
- 27:27else? Are there others that are worth pointing
- 27:30out? No. All right, cool. There's, what's his
- 27:34name, Bang Bang? Chop Chop, Chop Chop, Chop Chop
- 27:37Gonzalez. Chop Chop Gonzalez. Albert Gonzalez.
- 27:42Yeah, Chop Chop, Albert Chop Chop, yeah. Yeah,
- 27:45he's... He had kind of a lackluster performance.
- 27:48I just wanted to mention that. We get into our
- 27:53wiki bag just to be like, yeah, he didn't...
- 27:56Pretty midder. Pretty fucking midder. No, the
- 27:59thing is, I think he can do a lot better, but
- 28:02I just felt like he just didn't step it up this
- 28:04time around for some reason. No. But he does
- 28:10have some potential, which I'm kind of... Try
- 28:13to follow him a little more? Yeah. We'll see
- 28:16what happens with him. I wanted to point out
- 28:18Elvis Rodriguez drops the ball. Majority decision.
- 28:22Lindolfo Delgado is not terrible. But he's not
- 28:26who you want to be. No, you don't want to be
- 28:29dropping the ball to this guy. But who fucking
- 28:35did not drop the ball? Abdullah Mason. I was
- 28:38thinking about this one. And I wanted to say
- 28:41instead of like Pretty Boy Floyd in the kind
- 28:44of rhyme. So Pretty Fella Abdullah is what I
- 28:52wanted to go with. I don't know if it works as
- 28:54well as Pretty Boy Floyd. But man, that is exactly
- 28:57who he fucking looks like. Just beautiful offense,
- 29:02beautiful violence. It's amazing to watch him
- 29:05fight. And I know that I sound like I'm glazing.
- 29:08Kind of him because Abdullah Mason is fucking
- 29:11legit. He's special. Yeah, if you are not watching
- 29:15him, you are missing out for real. Mason the
- 29:20Menace? Yeah. That works a lot better than Pretty
- 29:23Fella. I like Pretty Fella. What do you think
- 29:30is next for him? For Abdullah Mason? He should
- 29:34have fought Giovanni Cabrera. I think he should
- 29:36have fought him again. He should. Yeah, he still
- 29:38should. Honestly, bring Yoshino out. See how
- 29:43he does it better than Shakur. Yeah. Bring Yoshino
- 29:49out. Man, he's going to hurt Yoshino because
- 29:52Yoshino's there to be hit. Luis Alberto Lopez
- 29:55moved up, too, if you want a fun fight. He's
- 30:01a lightweight now. I thought that he just did
- 30:03that because he had been out for a while. And
- 30:07so he just kind of took that little gimme fight
- 30:09back at the end of March. You might be right.
- 30:12But also, I think that's a fun fight. I think
- 30:17that Mason would seriously hurt Luis Lopez. Oh,
- 30:25absolutely. I fear for his health. He had a really
- 30:27nasty knockout and had a subdural hematoma as
- 30:33a result. and that probably shouldn't be back
- 30:35right that's you that's supposed to be a career
- 30:38ender not because you can't continue but like
- 30:43you better you shouldn't shouldn't if you want
- 30:46to like you want to see your kids grow up uh
- 30:49don't leave them alone top rank leave what's
- 30:53the top rank leave it now though alone uh what's
- 30:56his name um ray murataya that's a yeah it's a
- 31:00decent one Floyd Schofield. I don't think he's
- 31:03ready for that. Okay, I was thinking Floyd Schofield,
- 31:07but is Golden Boy really going to risk it? No.
- 31:09They're not going to do that. Fuck no, they're
- 31:11not going to do that. That's not to be mean,
- 31:13but that's also kind of not a good fight for
- 31:15Bill Mason at this stage of his career. I think
- 31:19he should get someone that is either shot or
- 31:22is like so low. Actually, I take that back. He's
- 31:26kind of a contender now, right? He's getting
- 31:29there. I think he should just... Fight the Cabrera's
- 31:34of the world. You know? And then move up. I have
- 31:37a couple fights with the Cabrera's. Guys like
- 31:39Maxie Hughes, too. Maxie Hughes, yeah. I think
- 31:43a good step -up fight is also Kambosis. I was
- 31:46just going to say that. I feel like Kambosis
- 31:49is like... We know Kambosis would lose, but I
- 31:54feel like Kambosis is not at a stage where he's
- 31:56going to totally sell out. Especially since he's
- 32:00at 140 now. I'm actually trying. I think he can
- 32:03make 135 if the money's right. Yeah, no, for
- 32:05sure. He's just, like, I feel like Kamboso's,
- 32:09like, it's not that he's, like, a high -skill
- 32:13fighter, but he's a high -value fighter just
- 32:15due to how high his value. Yeah. Like, it's more
- 32:19money than Abdullah is worth right now, if that
- 32:24makes sense. That's true. That's true. I mean,
- 32:27he could probably fight Keyshawn's leftovers.
- 32:28He could maybe fight Lamos. That's actually a
- 32:31good shout, is just swim in the wake of Keyshawn
- 32:34Davis. Yeah. If we want to bring out the corpse
- 32:39of Miguel Burchelt, who's still doing it. Oh,
- 32:42shit. That would be horrible. Burchelt's still
- 32:47at it. Is he? He's still at it. Oh, man. I thought
- 32:52he hung it up. No. So you know what? You totally
- 32:56could bring out the, like. Like the shell of
- 32:59Miguel Burchelt. Oscar Valdez? Is he still due?
- 33:04Again, too high value. Too high value. Okay,
- 33:07yeah. You're right. Too high value. And also,
- 33:09I don't think he's ready for something like that
- 33:11yet. I think he needs to get to the hanger part.
- 33:17To fight guys like that. He's in between the
- 33:19tags and the hangers, in my opinion. He's got
- 33:21to be careful about fighting the little Mexican
- 33:24fighter. I'll tell you that. The duel has to
- 33:26be careful. Because he is suspect to get chinned.
- 33:31I was thinking that Mason is more at the hanger
- 33:35to ironed. Yeah, you need to step him up, but
- 33:41it's difficult to matchmake him because he's
- 33:43a top rank and you need opponents who are on
- 33:47the down end of their careers or too high value.
- 33:50Yeah, that's true. What about somebody who's
- 33:52on his level of being on the rise? No, I mean,
- 33:57if you want to feed him to Andy Cruz, go ahead.
- 34:00No, Andy Cruz, I think, is ahead of him. Yeah.
- 34:04I think he'd be Andy Cruz, but that's kind of
- 34:06wild to say. I mean, Lucas Boddy, the kind of...
- 34:11The Indian dude from Canada? Yeah, from Canada.
- 34:15Well, the thing is that he took out that Jake
- 34:19Paul prospect, Ashton Sylvie. So the thing is
- 34:23that... I feel like Body's at the peak of his
- 34:25value right now. Ooh, good point. He's rematching
- 34:30Ashton, though, isn't he? Yeah. He's probably
- 34:33going to beat Ashton again, honestly. Josh Padley.
- 34:37Josh Padley. That is enough name value right
- 34:42now. That's true. You're right. You're right.
- 34:44But then, like, why not Maxie Hughes? Maxie Hughes
- 34:48is on the down slope, so that would be... I would
- 34:51say Maxie Hughes then, Josh Padley. Yeah, no
- 34:55one wants Maxie Hughes either. No one cares.
- 34:58I mean, shoot. Cabrera, Maxie Hughes, Padley.
- 35:01He has enough of a profile, and then you give
- 35:03him a shot at... You can't get a shot at a title
- 35:06for a while, though. There's some... There's
- 35:08that British Sam Noakes. I think that's a good
- 35:12one. That's on his level. True. Mark Chamberlain?
- 35:17Why not? Send them to Slogger. Guys that are
- 35:21just not the best that Duel can probably win
- 35:25against, you know, to make them look better.
- 35:27But they're better than the current stuff he's
- 35:30getting in the ring with. Oh, yeah, sure. Oh,
- 35:32yeah. Either way, I'm excited for what Duel's
- 35:36going to face in the future. I'm going to keep
- 35:38closely watching his career. I am, yeah. I will
- 35:41continue being a fucking hardcore stan for...
- 35:46Abdullah. The thing with Abdullah is that he
- 35:49does have a lot of mistakes. He does make a good
- 35:51amount of mistakes that I think can be fixed.
- 35:54But he needs to fix them as soon as possible
- 35:56or else he's going to get turned into a Devin
- 35:57Haney situation. Oh. Well, part of Devin Haney's
- 36:01problem is that he has no power to dissuade people
- 36:05from exploiting his errors. So there's two, again,
- 36:08as I said with Sue, there's two ways for Mason
- 36:11to go about it. There's refine that offensive
- 36:13game so you can't really get time. Or just round
- 36:17yourself out. Are you going to put your points
- 36:20into defense or the finer parts of offense? Personally,
- 36:27I think Abdullah's offense is pretty great, besides
- 36:32the fact that he can get a little too overconfident
- 36:34at times. That's part of refining the offense,
- 36:37though. Just that bit of discipline. Patience.
- 36:41Observation. That patience to be able to observe
- 36:44and then punish even harder. Boots has it perfectly.
- 36:50Go east a little bit to Philly. Boots doesn't
- 36:55overextend himself overly. We'll talk about that
- 37:02when we get to Boots. But that's besides the
- 37:03point. That's for the next one. Yeah, that'll
- 37:07be next time. So, Richard Torres. Gets the UD
- 37:11over Guido. I've been saying this as much as
- 37:15I like Richard Torres as a character. I enjoy
- 37:18his fights. He is an exciting fighter to watch.
- 37:22The size disparity between him and the current
- 37:27standard for heavyweight, I see him not being
- 37:31able to overcome it the way Joseph Parker has
- 37:35been able to. And he's certainly no Mike Tyson.
- 37:39Like, that's not even fucking pretend. He's definitely
- 37:43not Usyk. Right. He's not Usyk either. It's just
- 37:47he comes. I don't think it's. Yeah, you're right.
- 37:50He's not going to be able to. The man needs pep
- 37:52in his step, dude. True. His feet are his worst
- 37:55aspect. It's atrocious. But he's a tap dancer.
- 38:00How does he not have lighter feet? Like, he can
- 38:05move laterally. It's just when he comes forward,
- 38:08it's in such lumbering steps that, like, he gets
- 38:11timed by anyone in the top ten. He almost got
- 38:15timed by Guido. Oh, Guido. I actually love Guido.
- 38:19I love Guido. He's like a guilty pleasure to
- 38:23watch. I love Guido. If Guido used his jab, I
- 38:27think he could have won the fight. Yeah, but
- 38:30he can't. He's Guido Vianello, bro. Yeah. Rich
- 38:34Torres, dude, when he was going in, he didn't
- 38:36go left or right. He goes straight to the center.
- 38:38And he doesn't mix it up. You know what I mean?
- 38:40Which it's pretty frustrating to see. Seeing
- 38:44how he's a short heavyweight. You know? And again,
- 38:48like Leo said, I love the guy. I think he's humble.
- 38:51He's a great man to listen to and watch. It's
- 38:54just kind of hard. He's too small. I think the
- 38:58sudden step up from like... actual cans to like
- 39:03Guido Vianello means they're gonna try and cash
- 39:06him out soon oh you think so that's too bad like
- 39:09it's like it's just so sudden where they're like
- 39:13like basically if he lost to Guido then Guido
- 39:16is now the guy they can cash out well I do want
- 39:22to see Richard Torres with Jerry Anderson I think
- 39:24that is the fight to make a heavyweight That's
- 39:26going to be, I mean this unironically, the biggest
- 39:29American heavyweight fight we've had in the last,
- 39:32I don't even know how long, 20 years? I wish,
- 39:35for the love of God, that Michael Hunter was
- 39:37still around and not like a part -time fighter
- 39:40on the BLK Prime. Because like Michael Hunter,
- 39:46Michael Hunter actually is a good heavyweight.
- 39:50When he fights. When he was younger, yeah. I
- 39:55think if he was with someone like PBC, he could
- 39:59have been with him and Wilder. It's kind of been
- 40:03over for him since that draw with Jerry Forrest.
- 40:07Yeah. It's kind of unfortunate to see the whole
- 40:12American heavyweight landscape, how dead it is.
- 40:16It's buried underneath cement in a casket. It's
- 40:21horrible right now. Well, I mean, heavyweight
- 40:24as a whole is going to be kind of, like, as soon
- 40:27as Usyk retires, like, it's kind of going to
- 40:31be fat dudes beating each other up for a while.
- 40:34I disagree. I don't think so either. Because,
- 40:38like, you have Dubois. Who lost to Usyk, like,
- 40:42super comprehensively. What? Usyk, though. Usyk's
- 40:45one of the greatest heavyweights. No, I know,
- 40:48but that's what I mean. Like, heavyweight's going
- 40:49to be kind of lost for a fair bit across the
- 40:52board. I actually disagree on that point. There's
- 40:57a lot of guys that, at least I'm copying, that
- 41:00you can make fights with like Dubois. I do see
- 41:03Dubois. I'm not saying the fights won't be fun.
- 41:07I'm saying the fights are, like, they're going
- 41:11to be fun because heavyweight's always fun. But
- 41:13also, like, we're not going to see progression
- 41:17in the division, if that makes sense. Like a
- 41:22next -gen somebody. Yeah, like we saw two guys
- 41:26rising up to the top. Yeah, we saw that. Who
- 41:32is it? I get Caballel. No erasure of Caballel.
- 41:43Yeah, but I mean... Would Usyk be? I don't know.
- 41:49Usyk wasn't even a natural heavyweight. I need
- 41:52to see the progress start to happen because anyone
- 41:58could beat anyone other than Usyk. The thing
- 42:02is, Usyk wasn't even part of this current generation
- 42:06heavyweight. The big three were Fury, AJ, Wilder.
- 42:11They didn't fight each other besides Wilder and
- 42:13Fury. But he took it over at the very end. Yeah,
- 42:17exactly. I mean, that shows you how shit the
- 42:20generation was. But we still saw the progression.
- 42:25Like, we had AJ and Wilder, and then Fury came
- 42:29in. Like, we had progression building towards
- 42:33this. But the shit never happened, though. It
- 42:37was, yeah, the generation of these three fighters.
- 42:39But it got solved. There was an ending, and there
- 42:42was progress, and there was an ending. With Usyk.
- 42:47Usyk came and killed everybody. Yeah. Which is
- 42:50that still progress. That whole generation was
- 42:52bullshit. Well. I don't think the generation
- 42:58was bullshit. I think Usyk is just that good.
- 43:01Usyk is that good. I do think that kind of generation
- 43:04was bullshit. In my opinion. I'm just talking
- 43:08about how they just never fought each other.
- 43:10And then Usyk just came in and killed everybody.
- 43:12I think we only had like. There was only like
- 43:16two matchups that never really happened, which
- 43:18was AJ Fury and AJ Wilder. AJ Fury might be coming
- 43:22up. It's obviously like 10 years too late. Yeah,
- 43:25but in their primes, dude. Of course. Well, the
- 43:28thing is that AJ Fury never happening is Fury's
- 43:31fault after what he did post -Klitschko. Yeah.
- 43:36And then AJ Wilder, that could have been the
- 43:39biggest heavyweight fight in history. Oh, for
- 43:43sure. Yeah. But we still saw the progress when
- 43:49Fury came back and beat Wilder. Fury, Wilder,
- 43:52AJ, Usyk, those two, like, they faced off, and
- 43:55then, obviously, we got... Yeah, like, we still
- 43:57saw progress towards a guy for the generation.
- 44:03Well, the thing is, I don't... Okay, again, of
- 44:06course, Usyk's in the heavyweight. I know that
- 44:07Usyk's heavy. I'm not stupid, but, like, Usyk
- 44:10wasn't in the heavyweight, in that generation
- 44:12of heavyweights, if that makes any sense. In
- 44:15my view, at least. He became like a disruptor,
- 44:18but he didn't come from that generation. It's
- 44:23like saying Evander Holyfield wasn't in the 90s
- 44:26generation of heavyweights. Well, he was in there
- 44:30for a while after Cruiserweight. So was Usyk.
- 44:33Usyk has been too. Not as long as Evander. Like
- 44:39when Evander became undisputed in, what was it,
- 44:411990? Hold on. Let me look at, let me pull up
- 44:46the box rec. But he wasn't, like, Usyk's been
- 44:50in there since, like, let me see. He was a career
- 44:53heavyweight. No, he was undisputed at cruiserweights.
- 44:58But he was in heavyweight longer than cruiser.
- 45:02Yeah, but when he became undisputed, he'd only
- 45:05been there for a year and a half, maybe. Usyk
- 45:09becoming undisputed? Yeah. Buster Douglas. Yeah,
- 45:16and then 1988, late 1988 against James Tillis
- 45:20was his heavyweight debut. I see Usyk as a cruiserweight
- 45:25coming up. I don't see him as a pure heavyweight
- 45:30from that generation because he didn't come from
- 45:33that generation heavyweights. You know what I
- 45:36mean? He was a disruptor. I don't think he's
- 45:38the same argument with Evander. He was a disruptor
- 45:41in that generation of heavyweights. Yeah, but
- 45:43Usyk spent five years in heavyweight and fought
- 45:49the best of his generation. I know, but it's
- 45:53like they are heavyweights. We agree on the same
- 45:55thing. Usyk's the man. Let me bring this back
- 45:59around to Richard Torres. He's not the man. He's
- 46:03not the man. He's not the man. It's unfortunate.
- 46:07I am going to continue cheering for him, supporting
- 46:10him in however, whatever ways I can. But it's
- 46:15just going to be for the fun. It'll be fun. It'll
- 46:17be fun, at least. He'll still be entertaining
- 46:19after the fact. Well, hopefully. Yeah. The thing
- 46:24is, I don't see him losing for a while, just
- 46:26purely on the fact that there's just not a lot
- 46:27of heavyweights that Top Ring would probably
- 46:29put him in. Put him with? Is that Jay Anderson?
- 46:32Oh, they don't have a lot of options. Top Rank
- 46:37doesn't really want to work with Turkey anymore.
- 46:39They have a good relationship with Queensberry,
- 46:42but again, you don't want to feed him to Moses
- 46:45Itama just for fun. Yeah. I just don't see Top
- 46:50Rank letting him out of the stable much. No.
- 46:53He's going to fight Jared Anderson, and then
- 46:54they're going to wait for a world title to present
- 46:56itself once Usyk fully steps away. I got a feeling
- 47:00he could fight Parker. Yeah. Because that's the
- 47:04WBO, right? That is the top ranked title. Whatever
- 47:06Bob orders. Yep. There are other names around,
- 47:10too, that they could bring in. Murat Gassiev,
- 47:14who was part of Usyk's crop. It's a name, and
- 47:18they're similar in size. No, I'm saying Usyk
- 47:20because he could have been so good at heavyweight,
- 47:24but he's just so lazy. I think Usyk broke him.
- 47:30That's true. Give me Jermaine Franklin as a show.
- 47:34Bring him back into the mix. I'll get Cabello's
- 47:39actually similar size to Richard Torres. Yeah.
- 47:44Cabello's so weird because pre -Turkey, I was
- 47:51just like, what are you doing, man? Like, it
- 47:56wasn't fun. He wasn't doing much, and it wasn't
- 48:01very fun to watch him. And then all of a sudden,
- 48:04he smokes Makhmadov, Sanchez, and Zhang. Yep.
- 48:09He's the modern Max Schmilling. I was like, what
- 48:12are you doing? Oh, come on. I'm sorry. I had
- 48:17to say it again. I see this every time we mention
- 48:19Cabello. He's the modern Max Schmilling. Honestly,
- 48:22the most satisfying one was still him beating
- 48:24Frank Sanchez. That was... That was fun. That
- 48:28was a good one. That was satisfying to watch.
- 48:29He was, like... Just got rid of him. Frank Sanchez
- 48:34has held on a pedestal for years, dude. He was.
- 48:39Yeah. I think they were expecting Frank to beat
- 48:42Caballel, too, right? Yeah. I thought it was
- 48:45a legit concern. Yeah, I did. But when you looked
- 48:49at Caballel's body of work up to, like, that
- 48:52point, like, yeah, maybe Mac Mudab's a fraud,
- 48:55right? Like, other than Makhmadov pre -Sanchez,
- 48:59his best win was robbing Derek Chisora in 2017.
- 49:04Yeah. Which is, like, if you're robbing Derek
- 49:08Chisora in any year after, like, 2014, you've
- 49:14got it rough. You've got it. You've got it rough.
- 49:18You don't have it. You've got it rough. So, the
- 49:24fact that he just, like... Sanchez looked somewhat
- 49:27good. The thing is that I think Frank Sanchez,
- 49:33I think he could have done a little more in that
- 49:35fight, which we could have talked about another
- 49:36time. But I think he could have done a little
- 49:38more, you know, pizzazz, if I guess the word.
- 49:43Yeah. To win over the judges. I mean, well, Sanchez
- 49:46just got cooked. Yeah. He came back. He had a
- 49:53comeback fight in February. On the 22nd, which
- 49:59is a busy day. So what about Frank Sanchez versus
- 50:03Richard Torres? Depends on which Frank shows
- 50:09up. If it's the one who actually wants to engage,
- 50:11it'll be fun. If not, I don't think Torres has
- 50:16the footwork. Unless, like, top -ranked breaks
- 50:19Sanchez's legs. Well, the last time when he fought
- 50:22Caballel, his knees were not cooperating. His
- 50:26knees were cooked, yeah. They were going different
- 50:29directions, absolutely. So, just an idea. But
- 50:36let's keep it rolling. Motherfucking... Jesus,
- 50:40we're... I don't need to do the ad clap. I'll
- 50:43just figure something out. Support for this episode

- 52:57Moving into the previews. Saturday, April 19th,
- 53:02we have two cards, one of which I don't care
- 53:05about. You want to guess which one it is between
- 53:07Matchroom and the UK or Golden Boy? Yeah. It's
- 53:12the... Don Smith. Right. So this is headlined
- 53:18by Dalton Smith and Matthew Germain. There's
- 53:22a couple of other... Josh Padley making his Matchroom...
- 53:27As a contract fighter making his debut. Listen,
- 53:29I need to see Josh Warrington die. That's all.
- 53:33Yeah, he's fighting. It won't happen. Josh Padley's
- 53:37fighting Marko Chetanovic and Josh Warrington.
- 53:43Asad Asif Khan. Asad, bro, what do you need?
- 53:48Tell me. How can I help? Yeah, like I need Warrington
- 53:53gone. Warrington is a cockroach. no no survive
- 53:58a nuclear holocaust like i'm serious everything
- 54:02keeps losing and then he keeps showing up again
- 54:05and like it's gonna be this fight and it's gonna
- 54:08be this fight and then a world title shot it's
- 54:11british kambosis oh gross i think that works
- 54:17no but no no hey give kambosa some respect key
- 54:21detail female fair and square back in the day
- 54:26Like, man, like, I just, I don't, like, it's
- 54:31just horrible. Like, every single time you watch
- 54:35a Warrington fight, he just uses the fucking,
- 54:38he just headbutts the other guy to death. Yeah.
- 54:42He's a prick. I'm sure he does. Then he goes
- 54:46on social media and cries about how the referee
- 54:48robs him when he gets stopped. Twice he's been
- 54:53stopped. Yeah. Honestly, the first one was so
- 55:01hilarious to Mauricio Lara. Yeah, it was good.
- 55:08It's COVID. Literally, if Warrington falls down
- 55:14and no one can hear it, did it happen? No one
- 55:21could hear him. That one was beautiful. Otherwise,
- 55:27like, I need, I just, I need him gone, man. Asada
- 55:30Sif Khan, bro. Take my energy. And that's, like,
- 55:37that's the limit of my caring. Dalton Smith's
- 55:40alright, you know, so I'm a sicko. I'm gonna
- 55:44be watching. That doesn't mean that I'm, like,
- 55:48really excited about it. You must be a really
- 55:51big sicko. I am. Yeah, I was going to say, you're
- 55:54watching him fight a guy who, like, Yves Ulysses
- 55:57Jr. put out the pasture. I wasn't going to say
- 56:00that. I was going to say, you must be a really
- 56:01big sicko to ignore, to think this is the worst
- 56:04card, because Josh Padley's on here. Oh, good
- 56:07point. He's the king. Yeah, that's a good point.
- 56:10The boxer card is not much better. Also on the
- 56:1619th, this is the one that I was saying is better.
- 56:19I thought this was great. Gabby Fandora. headlining
- 56:23probably on well on this card though yeah let's
- 56:26let me uh let's get back to the let's get back
- 56:29on the boxing yeah yeah at the front wave arena
- 56:33in oceanside california uh this i've looked this
- 56:37place up front wave arena is on hero drive what
- 56:41the fuck yeah uh but there's a lot of shit on
- 56:45here that i don't really care about so Don't
- 56:48get all upset. Don't get upset, British people,
- 56:52because I don't really give a shit about this
- 56:53one either. I'm going to just list off the stuff
- 56:56that I do care about. And it's only three of
- 56:59them. Oleksandr Vosdik versus Anthony Holloway.
- 57:04Eight rounder. Man, Vosdik, how are you going
- 57:06to go from fighting Benavidez to this? Is he
- 57:12still a goal boy now? I think he might be, but
- 57:15hey, man, if you're getting paid, Congrats. Keep
- 57:19it going as long as you can. He doesn't even
- 57:23look that bad. No, he doesn't. He's still in
- 57:27there. Yeah. Still in there. It's a good fight
- 57:32for Morel, in my opinion. Oof. Yeah. I honestly
- 57:37think he stops Vostok. Even though Benavidez
- 57:42couldn't, I think Morel can. Yeah. I disagree
- 57:46with that. Well, it depends on how Morel improves
- 57:49because he just needs a bit more precision and
- 57:52fine -tuning to his game. Let's see how his power
- 57:55carried over to 175. Enough to wobble Benavidez.
- 58:02True that. Enough to wobble Benavidez, yeah.
- 58:05You're right. Moving up. Charles Conwell versus
- 58:11Jorge Garcia Perez. Alex, you're a bit of a Conwell
- 58:16fan, aren't you? A little bit. A little bit.
- 58:21I should look into him more. I don't look at
- 58:25him as much as I watch someone like Abdul Mason.
- 58:28But he's still on my radar. You know what I mean?
- 58:30Right. I need him in the mix at 154 at this point.
- 58:34Seriously. He does need to. He needs to step
- 58:37it up. He's got the goods to step up. But the
- 58:41problem is he's a golden boy. Right. That's one
- 58:44of his biggest issues, that he's with Goldenboy.
- 58:46I was surprised to hear he was with Goldenboy,
- 58:49seeing as how he's not... He was with Matchroom,
- 58:55and then he killed that guy and took a while
- 58:57off, and then he came back with Goldenboy. That's
- 59:00what I was saying. I thought he was still at
- 59:02Matchroom. But seeing as how he's with Goldenboy,
- 59:05that's going to kill his career, in my opinion.
- 59:09Who knows? If he goes the turkey route. I mean,
- 59:17if he goes the turkey route, yeah. But, I mean,
- 59:19the only guy he could really get an in -house
- 59:20fight with is obviously going to be Virgil. The
- 59:23other guys are PBC fighters. You know? They're
- 59:26not going to put him in with Virgil. Fuck no.
- 59:29They would never. Because that kills their money.
- 59:31Right. I think with in -house fights, they don't
- 59:33want to destroy their own money. You know what
- 59:35I mean? Moving up. It's the last one. Gabriela
- 59:39Fandora, undisputed flyweight champion versus
- 59:41top contender Marilyn Badillo Amaya. I hope Gabby
- 59:47wins. I'm very hopeful. I'm very certain that
- 59:53she's going to win. Gabby's a damn good fighter.
- 59:57She's huge. For flyweight, she's fucking really
- 1:00:01tall. She's 5 '9 of flyweight. also for the for
- 1:00:08the women's as well he's really talented seriously
- 1:00:10she's really good like she's up there i think
- 1:00:14with clarissa type skill you know i mean she's
- 1:00:18on the road to establishing herself in the same
- 1:00:21in the same way yeah and i i actually i'm not
- 1:00:26to sound like like funny and be like misogynistic
- 1:00:28it's not it's actually not supposed to be misogynistic
- 1:00:31but gabby is like the first time in a while i
- 1:00:34was like really really hyped up or like a female
- 1:00:37fighter because the last time i was like like
- 1:00:40watching a female fighter was like amanda serrano
- 1:00:42someone like that you know i mean right but it's
- 1:00:44been a while since i've like had a female fighter
- 1:00:47on my radar yeah exactly hyped i say i actually
- 1:00:51believe in carolyn dubois a fair bit she's good
- 1:00:55she's good yeah carolyn dubois as well i'm really
- 1:01:01hyped about gabriella though yeah just really
- 1:01:04humble too Which I like. Oh, yeah, she's just...
- 1:01:08Well, it runs in the family, I guess. Pandora's
- 1:01:11also, I guess, weird that way. She's good, you
- 1:01:16know? She's funny. I've talked to her a few times.
- 1:01:20She's fun. Really? Yeah. After fights. You have
- 1:01:25talked to Gabby, then? I have. I don't have her
- 1:01:28fucking phone number or anything. It was just
- 1:01:29in a professional context. You could have...
- 1:01:33Could have tried. No, you're not getting the
- 1:01:36hookup in a professional context. No. Yeah, I
- 1:01:40couldn't. In a professional context. Where do
- 1:01:44you think does Gabby land top 10 skill for skill?
- 1:01:53Skill for skill, Josh, are you familiar with
- 1:01:56it? It's a thing I made up. It's a gender neutral
- 1:02:00pound for pound. Fuck, that's a cool concept.
- 1:02:07I gotta think of that. I think she could make
- 1:02:09top 10 to 15, but I don't think she cracks the
- 1:02:13top 10. No, the top 10, it's... That's tough.
- 1:02:17The gap presents itself just on ruleset and history.
- 1:02:22Yeah. Of top 15 of all time? No, just... No,
- 1:02:26presently. Yeah, all time, no. All time, fuck
- 1:02:29no. The all time discussion is for when we have
- 1:02:33a dead week. You know what? I do think she has
- 1:02:39potential. I'm not even joking. She has a lot
- 1:02:42of potential. And I think she can get there.
- 1:02:44Yeah. She makes the top 20. Skill for skill.
- 1:02:49Yeah, skill for skill right now. Top 20. You
- 1:02:53got the goods, Gabriela. You got the goods. I
- 1:02:57would say top 10. Top 10? That's what I was asking.
- 1:03:01Because I said like 10 to 15. Like I'll agree
- 1:03:0410 to 15, but I need to make like a formal list
- 1:03:07being like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:03:11Josh is playing devil's advocate. I think that
- 1:03:15was good, dude. She's really, she is very talented.
- 1:03:17So I would put her, I would rate her highly amongst
- 1:03:19all the women in boxing. Yeah. Oh, so yeah. Isn't
- 1:03:22she like the first undisputed? Um, she's the
- 1:03:26youngest undisputed champion ever. Oh yeah. Yeah.
- 1:03:30Yeah. That was my first time disputed from Coachella
- 1:03:33for the women's bet. Anything more for the Golden
- 1:03:39Boy card? Hell nah. All right. Last thing before
- 1:03:46we get the hell out of here. And least. Yes,
- 1:03:48last but also least. On Sunday, April 20th, if
- 1:03:55you have weed, do that instead. You'll probably
- 1:03:58have more fun. Actually, have weed and watch
- 1:04:02the main event. Shit. The co -main is actually
- 1:04:05pretty fun, too. That, too. Well, no, it isn't.
- 1:04:09Today is so old. I know. All right, let's get
- 1:04:13into it. This is Boxer. If you're in the US,
- 1:04:17it's going to be on Peacock streaming service.
- 1:04:20And then if you're elsewhere, it'll be on Sky
- 1:04:22or Sky Sports, I think. But in the UK, Ben Whittaker.
- 1:04:28He's making his return. I know you're just real
- 1:04:32fucking miffed that he's still doing it. Maybe
- 1:04:36you are. I don't know. I'm putting words in your
- 1:04:38mouth. He's rematching the dude that he had the
- 1:04:43draw with. He fell out of the ring or something
- 1:04:46and then he was all... That was if he faked his
- 1:04:48injury. That was a fake injury. Run the tape.
- 1:04:52He was getting cooked. Yeah, he was in trouble.
- 1:04:56I hope he gets cooked again. The co -main that
- 1:04:59I mentioned would be kind of fun is Frazier Clark.
- 1:05:02He's a decent -ish British -level heavyweight.
- 1:05:07Yeah, British. I did have to add that qualifier.
- 1:05:11Most known for having a dent put in his head
- 1:05:15by Fabio Wardley. And his opponent, Ebenezer
- 1:05:20Teta is how they pronounce it. Yeah. It's this
- 1:05:25very old man. You can find YouTube videos of
- 1:05:32him. You can see how he amassed his professional
- 1:05:36record, 23 and 2. You can see because there's
- 1:05:40just really poor quality videos. They set up
- 1:05:44in the middle of a park and they put a really
- 1:05:46dingy ring together. And we're talking like jumping,
- 1:05:50skipping ropes as the ropes. Yeah. Or actual
- 1:05:53like cargo ship fucking ropes. It's unfortunate.
- 1:06:00I can't talk shit. No, I'm not talking shit.
- 1:06:03This is just what it is. It's interesting. It's
- 1:06:06an interesting state of affairs that they got
- 1:06:07going on in his corner of Africa. That's like
- 1:06:11Street Beats. Nah, Street Beats has the whole
- 1:06:15hexagon. They're up in the budget recently. It's
- 1:06:21probably a higher budget than this fight. Oh,
- 1:06:24fuck yeah, dude. It's Boxer. Of course. Teta
- 1:06:28getting paid in a goat. He's going to get three
- 1:06:33polos that have various IT companies that he
- 1:06:39has nothing to do with, but he's going to get
- 1:06:41those IT guy polos. That's part of his payout.
- 1:06:46Man, if Frazier Clark doesn't win this, that's
- 1:06:50a tough one. That's such a tough road back. It
- 1:06:53might be time to consider coaching instead. Might
- 1:06:59be time for a David Allen rematch if you lose
- 1:07:01to Ebenezer Tete. That'd be sad. What do you
- 1:07:08mean? The White Rhino is only... What was the
- 1:07:10thing they said in, like, 2018? He's only three
- 1:07:12fights away from AJ? In when? When he beat...
- 1:07:20Lucas Brown. I think Eddie Hearn was like, he's
- 1:07:24maybe three fights away from AJ, and then AJ
- 1:07:26lost to Andy Ruiz. And I'm like, yeah, he's three
- 1:07:29losses away from AJ fighting him. David Allen
- 1:07:32lost to Tony Yoka. How did I not know this? He
- 1:07:37lost to David Price in the year of our Lord 2019.
- 1:07:40I remember that. I remember because Robbie was
- 1:07:43a big fan of Cool as Ice Price. I was so sad
- 1:07:49to see it. I needed the meme to just go a little
- 1:07:52bit farther. Brad doesn't like it like that,
- 1:07:57though. If you're ever feeling, if you're ever
- 1:07:59bored, there's no boxing on, look up his fight
- 1:08:04with Ariel Esteban Bracamonte and just get stoned
- 1:08:09and watch it. Bracamonte is just gigantic. Argentine,
- 1:08:13isn't he? Argentinian. Yeah, but they just, like,
- 1:08:15for six rounds, they just went balls to the wall.
- 1:08:19No defense, no movement. Party. They just wailed
- 1:08:26on each other. And finally, the rematch, Ben
- 1:08:32Whitaker versus Liam Cameron. We already laid
- 1:08:35out the foundation of it. Fucking fake the injury.
- 1:08:39to get out of a fight he was very clearly losing,
- 1:08:42then they're going to rematch. So Ben Whittaker,
- 1:08:48he's my guilty pleasure. The way his dancing
- 1:08:51triggers the libs of boxing, it just, it does
- 1:08:57it for me. The libs are your co -hosts, but yeah.
- 1:09:01It's the phrase. It triggers people. The boxing
- 1:09:05fans get all up in their feelings about Ben Whittaker.
- 1:09:07I get in my feelings about him. He's going to
- 1:09:10get better. I was so happy watching him get fraud
- 1:09:13checked at the Olympics. I've been hate watching
- 1:09:17since the Olympics. That's how much you know
- 1:09:21he's a fucking hater. The hate watch is crazy.
- 1:09:26That is a level of sicko I have yet to reach.
- 1:09:30Yeah, that's crazy. If you're more sick than
- 1:09:33fucking Leo, you're sick. Listen, listen, listen.
- 1:09:37I'm going to be smoking the pack this weekend.
- 1:09:41Well, yeah, we'll see. I'm going to be smoking
- 1:09:42the pack at the end of the day. We'll see what
- 1:09:45happens with Ben Whitaker. I hope he loses, though.
- 1:09:47I do hope he loses, but for the memes, I would
- 1:09:53like for him to win. What if he gets, like, a
- 1:09:57fight with Benavidez, dude? He's not that. No,
- 1:09:59no, no. Fuck no. No, no, no. Anthony Yard. Give
- 1:10:02him Anthony Yard because Anthony Yard is actually,
- 1:10:04like, that fight would be so bad in, like, the
- 1:10:09best way. Maybe more. Ben Whitaker just jabs
- 1:10:14Anthony Yard's non -existent defense in his face
- 1:10:17until Yard, like, just beats the shit out of
- 1:10:20them. Ah, yeah. I want to see Ben Whitaker lose.
- 1:10:26Do I want him to win to lose more embarrassingly
- 1:10:29another day? Or do I want him to lose embarrassingly
- 1:10:32now? Both things can be true at the same time.
- 1:10:36True. I want him to get better at it. You know
- 1:10:40what puts the theme? Oh, my God. Want something
- 1:10:44like that. Give me that. Just getting cooked.
- 1:10:48I just need him to get cooked. Give me that Spence
- 1:10:51Crawford beatdown. Oh, Jesus. Don't hurt the
- 1:10:55man. I need him to get cooked like that. Yeah,
- 1:10:59I mean, we're just wishing for his death at this
- 1:11:01point. It's not even cool. Let me do this real

- 1:13:10in mind, parting words. Pro box good. Where's
- 1:13:15pro box? Pro box good. Where's pro box? Where's
- 1:13:19pro box? Is it okay? I hope. Please don't. Please
- 1:13:24call me pro box if something's wrong. I want
- 1:13:27to help. I want to keep you healthy. Alex, what
- 1:13:32do you got? Let's go Gabby Fandora and let's
- 1:13:36go Charles Conwell. See you next week. I love
- 1:13:39you guys. All right. Listeners. That's it for
- 1:13:42this edition. We will indeed catch you next time.
- 1:13:59Welcome to the fucking show. All right. Just
- 1:14:02a quick blurb just so you can get back to what
- 1:14:04you were doing. Why would a boxing fan, let's
- 1:14:10assume they're like a purist or some shit, why
- 1:14:14would they want to watch MMA? Why would they
- 1:14:17want to listen to an MMA show? I'm going to come
- 1:14:20at this from sort of like a primal level. So
- 1:14:23I will admit there are some very unique and stark
- 1:14:28differences between MMA and boxing. And it seems
- 1:14:32like one of the main things that... uh keeps
- 1:14:34boxing fans away from mma is the grappling aspect
- 1:14:38and yes sometimes it can be you know a lay and
- 1:14:42pray uh type of fight and it can get old but
- 1:14:46man like it's just instinctual man some of these
- 1:14:50people the way they find an mma is just brutal
- 1:14:54and i feel like that's what it comes down to
- 1:14:55when it comes to being a combat fan a combat
- 1:14:58sports fan um i mean we saw it just recently
- 1:15:04Mauricio Rufi versus Bobby Green spinning back
- 1:15:08or spinning a wheel kick. Man, it's I mean, they
- 1:15:13went viral and it's something that everyone can
- 1:15:16appreciate, even boxing fans. I know if you have
- 1:15:19a few friends that are boxing fans who I sent
- 1:15:23him that clip. I mean, and they they were amazed
- 1:15:26and that, you know, they won't even tell me that
- 1:15:28they wish they would have seen it live because.
- 1:15:31Seeing that type of stuff live just elicits,
- 1:15:34like, a euphoric feeling that, you know, you
- 1:15:38can't get. I mean, it happens in boxing, too,
- 1:15:40whenever you see, like, an amazing fight. But
- 1:15:42I just got to say, like, in MMA, you get those
- 1:15:47type of fights as well, just in a different type.
- 1:15:50It's different, but sort of the same. It's sort
- 1:15:53of weird how I describe it. But it's different,
- 1:15:56but the same. It comes down to that same, like,
- 1:15:58carnal or primal instinct. of just like fights
- 1:16:01yeah i i always think like the biggest the easiest
- 1:16:07transition that i always recommend i say this
- 1:16:10all the time on ultimate fucking casuals is if
- 1:16:14you're if you're not too keen on the grappling
- 1:16:17muay thai and kickboxing are exactly where you
- 1:16:21want to start like you start working on the kicks
- 1:16:24the elbows the knees that's all that stuff And
- 1:16:28you can come to learn to appreciate grappling.
- 1:16:31I never thought I would. And here I am. Yeah.
- 1:16:36Like I said, some of it is very boring. Some
- 1:16:38of the grappling. It depends on the fighters.
- 1:16:40But sometimes, man. There's boring boxing fights
- 1:16:42all the time. Yeah. Yeah, no. Yeah, you're true.
- 1:16:46I mean, you're right. But man, some of these
- 1:16:48grapplers, man. These scrambles that they do.
- 1:16:51It is like pretty crazy just to see it. Like,
- 1:16:55you know, rolling around the floor. I mean, you
- 1:16:56can see. The stuff that they're doing in between.
- 1:16:58And the scrambles. I mean it's sort of crazy.
- 1:17:00Flipping someone over. The trips. I mean it's.
- 1:17:03It can be fun. But yeah you're right. The easiest
- 1:17:05transition is definitely. Start out with Muay
- 1:17:07Thai. Kickboxing. And you know slowly. Work your
- 1:17:10way into MMA. And you know. This is the thing
- 1:17:13about. The ultimate fucking casuals. We will
- 1:17:17let you know which fights are going to be good.
- 1:17:20Which ones you know. If you're not too in tune
- 1:17:22with the grappling. We can get maybe. a little
- 1:17:26tag or a little asterisk on certain fights saying,
- 1:17:30like, this is a boxing purist type of fight.
- 1:17:32Yeah. You can watch this and enjoy this. Like,
- 1:17:36we'll let you know. Yeah, we always try. Like,
- 1:17:39I came into this. The whole show was started
- 1:17:42with me. I didn't know shit about MMA. I'd never
- 1:17:45really seen an MMA fight in its entirety in my
- 1:17:48entire life. And I came into this with nothing.
- 1:17:51And yeah, that's where we're at now is like we're
- 1:17:54talking like I make sure I go out of my way to
- 1:17:57bring up Muay Thai and bring up kickboxing so
- 1:18:00that people know like this for boxing fans to
- 1:18:04know this is what this is where you can start.
- 1:18:08All right. Well, yeah, that was about it. I really
- 1:18:11appreciate your time. Thanks, Isaac, for jumping
- 1:18:14on real quick. Thanks for having me on. All right.
