- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: And welcome to very amusing.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Your one-stop shop for the stories secrets and shenanigans of a popular female theme park journalist.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Carly Wiesel, and wait, hold on a second.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so Morty was just in my office staring at me being like, girlie, I want to go out.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's a whole thing he likes to go to the backyard and then he wants to come right back in and then we go back out and then we come back in.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's a, it's a Morty thing.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, he walked in my office and in my head I'm like, I'll record this real quick and then I'll go out with Morty.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Morty hurt me say hello and then walked out.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Morty knows what the podcast is.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, hi, hello, I am currently on vacation.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to like summer break for real.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Now that I have a kid and I'm on a school schedule, my life just used to be fluent before.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now that I'm like on a school schedule, I'm trying to get a lot done over the summer.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: And we are on a two week husband more than two week I'm bad at math, two week trip to go visit family in Chicago and you go.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: And as you know,
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Originally the plan was that I was going to take three weeks off the podcast.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, we're going to be on summer break.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then I realized if my favorite podcasts did that, I would lose my GD mind.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I would absolutely freak out.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't want to do that to you because I also don't want it to happen to me.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: So we are here.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Also that makes it sound like this is an obligation.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: It is not at all.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Long story short, I didn't think I was going to have time to pre-record episodes before I left.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I ended up not getting called in for jury duty, and I don't think I talked about this on the podcast or in gabsash, but I had a week right reserved the whole week for jury duty just in case every day don't have to report don't have to report don't have to report don't have to report Friday last day made a doctor's appointment because I'm like I'm not gonna have to report
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Had to report, had to report, so I, because you can't call them and you only check your your jury duty assignment after hours, it like starts at 6 p.m. and everyone's gone.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I had to physically go down there and be like, what do I do?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, we're just going to sign you up again and you're going to start back at one.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I this week unexpectedly had to assume that I would not be able to work the entire week because you never know.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I've watched a lot of Lincoln lawyer.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: You can be on a case for a while.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: So every single day I checked and I checked and I checked and because Friday the last day is was July 4th observed I got the whole week and I was fine so I'm recording this on Thursday and day I did not think I would have free and here we are able to do the podcast.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: I was able to go to coffee with the friend friend of the pond Julia Prescott we went for coffee this morning coffee by the way
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent!
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: I posted last week that I do keep a do keep a Wasn't I keep a note in my phone about where I like coffee from where I don't Jones on third.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: I's not fat latte going on the good list.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: I tried to be a cold brew person It didn't work out well.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: I will never be going back to go get him tiger just because I try every time and it's never what I want it to be
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, we are here.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited to be able to bring you these little guides.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get into more of what these are in the actual episode portion.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: But everything is good with me.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: I am wrapping up the, oh, did you hear that?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you hear that.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's me kicking one of the final cardboard boxes that I have to mail out dollywood hats.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: I have about four more to box up and then I'm bringing them to the post office.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: And something you, when you're listening to this podcast, might have already gotten them.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Is that fun?
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I'm gonna open up a store again.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that is a type A job, and I have a type B brain But I'm really glad to be all of these hats.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really glad they're out in the world.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're so silly I love making things next time.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna have someone else box them up because it's not me trying to like check a document and make sure that I put the right color hat in the box
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Not my skill set, not my skill set.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, bro to be here, bro to be with you over these summer weeks when I'm away.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: I will be reporting probably from Chicago in the next one.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: We will see, but I hope everyone's having a great summer.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Hope everyone had a delicious hot dog or a vegan alternative during July 4th.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll see you on the other side.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, love you, bye.
- 4:22[UNKNOWN]: Thank you for watching!
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, and welcome back to our Disneyland Mini Guide.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: This is essentially everything I would tell you if we were out for a coffee and you were like, oh, I'm going to Disneyland.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: What do I need to know?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's this whole episode.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: And the goal of this is really for anyone who hasn't been there in a while, anyone that you are going to send advice to.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to save you all time.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to have to worry about typing everything out.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: But really, it's just to talk about my local park.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: In my favorite things to do there a lot of times because we, you know, we have this podcast every week We don't always hit the basics and when we do we go so deep that it's a little overwhelming All admit not all our podcasts need to be an hour and a half long, but I can't stop talking So I'm kind of viewing these many episodes as an opportunity to really hone in on the basic stuff that I do every time I'm at these places In a way that is more guide-focused and a little less broad and just very very concise
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: This week we were talking about Disneyland Resort, the two theme parks that I visit frequently, as somebody who is now a Californian, and Straight up at the top before we get into this resort usually I'd be like, oh, there's two parks And there's a dent in Disney District and there's three hotels, but there's those hotels nearby.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Not today, buddy We're just going into the key stuff you got to know and the main thing you got to know about Disneyland right now Is that Disneyland low-key needs you to go?
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, they kind of need you to go to Disneyland because the discounts that we're seeing are absolutely bananas
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: I am recording this a day or two after they announced $59 evening tickets.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: These are for Sundays through Wednesdays for only four weeks starting in July 12th.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: And what that tells me is an expert is that if we're out of your pinpointing when crowds are low, Disney is literally selecting the exact days that they know people aren't coming and they're trying to shove people in there.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Which means that Disneyland is not busy this summer and we need to take advantage because that is not always the case.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: I even went on the regular ticketing calendar and they now have lower priced days in a green font to highlight that they're lower to potential guests.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: They also have which I did not see anywhere else.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: A Disneyland dining card where you save ten dollars by pre-paying for a hundred dollars in advance.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's not enough to get me to lock into a hundred dollar gift certificate for nothing.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: But Jesus!
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yikes!
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, is Mickey okay?
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this is crazy!
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: And this is coming off the heels of multiple weeks of my friends and colleagues posting that like, there's not a lot of people in Disneyland.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a lot of people who do this again.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: And why say that it's not like there's, you know, like, like, what does it like dust like an old Western movie?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: There's not like hay barrels or whatever.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: They're like dust floating around.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: There's not like there's nobody there.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: There are people there.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: But we are used to these parks being jammed.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: And especially because a lot of annual pass holders are blocked out during the summer.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: This is the time to go!
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: I saw how did man should have a 10 minute wait with my own eyeballs.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I opened my phone the other day, Peter Pan's flight, less than 30 minutes.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, you know what?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna do this in real time.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna turn my phone off bare-play mode.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Granted it is when I'm recording this July second.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So we are approaching a holiday.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: Perhaps Disney also might not have the lowest of low times posted in case things are different, but it is 11 o'clock on a Thursday in summertime.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Peter Pan 30 minutes.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Still?
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Not that bad.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: What else?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: What else?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, times are a little lower.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to be a show.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: They're a little higher.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to be a show off.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: But, what, okay, what is this?
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: 20 minute wait?
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: My name's Falcon Smuggler's run.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: They just updated that ride with Grogo.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it's that, whoa.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, here we go.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Haunted Mansion.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: 13 minute wait, which is basically almost nothing.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: What else do we have?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: What else do we have?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: What else do we have?
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's loading so slow.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's a small world of five minute wait.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so like get your put to Disneyland.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Get your put to Disneyland.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: And while I'm at it, may I say reach out to mouseman travel?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: My guys in mouseman travel mouseman travel dot com slash amusing because they will set you up for success.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: There's hotel discounts.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: There's all this stuff that like there's so much stuff I can't keep track of it and they will make sure that you know about all of it and planar trip for free.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Hit them up.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: They will help you out.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: If you are going for one day if you're going for one day to Disneyland resort.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Disneyland Park has more going on than Disney California Adventure.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's secondary park, if I say.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to do thrill rides specifically, you should go to Disney California Adventure, at least park hops so you can access that park.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Park hopping is so easy at Disneyland Resort that I often recommend it, but if you don't come here a lot and it's all new to you, there is plenty to do with just Disneyland and you won't even be able to do it all in the day.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: You no longer need to worry about park hopping rules.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you got to pay for park hopping.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: But there's no, there used to be like an 11 o'clock.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: You could come over and park up.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's gone, which is pretty sick.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: But you do still need to tell them when you are visiting.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: What that means is that as a ticket holder, you select which park you're visiting on which date.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a full clocked reservation like it used to be, but it's essentially the same thing.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: I am often asked, is it going to be busy?
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: Is it not going to be busy?
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: When is the best time to go if I'm flexible and schedule?
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want to see people there.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I don't know anymore.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know anymore.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And anybody who says they know?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: do not, they don't know, they truly don't know because the crowd counters are a mess and they are not as reliable as they used to be empirical data has shifted so much from the pre-COVID years that I don't really trust anything that much and I have come on here before and said it's worth it to cobble together different sources and I still think that is the best method to try to figure out if the park is going to be busy or not.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: However, in the recent months I have booked on multiple days that crowd calendars after checking them all, they were like babes, nobody's
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Big fart!
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: There were a ton of people there.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that it is worth it to check everything, and also check how much tickets cost per day.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: If there is a lower ticket price, that means that they want more people to be there.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of this is informed by magic keyholders, by annual pass holders at Disneyland and when their blockout dates are.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Something you don't want to forget, too, is that so-called resident tickets, those random promotions they do, where people can buy a low price ticket for three days.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Those can explode crowds over a series of months when things would have been slower.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: The park, as I said, has not been busy this summer, partially summertime, partially from Magic Key Blockouts, partially question mark from the world's cup.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know, but again, use all of the options available to paint a
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Typically, you can find like a random weekend when things are less busy, but it really depends out those block out dates from magic key holders, ticket promotions, and things like that.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're trying to pinpoint a low crowd day, honestly, I have no freaking idea.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea anymore, and I feel like anybody who tells you they know is lying.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel that way.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I only know there's no crowds if someone's there and they're like weird.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: No crowds today.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: Blackout dates for passes are usually a huge indication.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're going to the parks right before, you can check the past calendars online and see when people are blocked out.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you're visiting the parks right before one of those windows, which is not at all seasonally dependent, well kind of for summer, but anyway.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: And kind of for holidays.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I kind of take that back.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you were visiting right before the end of a so-called discount ticket, one of those three day tickets, if you're visiting right before sometimes that aligns with the end of a festival.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: If you're visiting right before an appassel just about to be blocked out, who the park is going to be busy and we don't talk about that enough.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: If you are driving because you're in California, you will be the parking lot is a whole situation.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Budget 45 minutes minimum from the time you arrive to the garage.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: I usually say an hour but I don't want to scare anybody, okay?
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Recently, I pulled in on one of these not busy days and I got to Disneyland in 30 minutes and that was a world record for me.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: 30 minutes from pulling a just pulling up to the garage to being inside the park is the shortest time it has ever taken me so it's going to take you kind of an hour.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: all the time.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you arise before 11 am, you can park at this secondary lot called Pixar pals.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: The easiest way to figure out how to do that is to just go on TikTok.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'll put a link in the show notes.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little, it's a little complicated because you have to drive past multiple signs telling you to park and your brain will be like, I need a park and you have to like overcome that voice to be able to go.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: But it typically can be easier to get in the garage there because the garage lines get backed up.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: in a way that will blow your mind.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: The lines are so long, I don't know why.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: There is also a surface parking lot on the opposite side of the resort, just kind of like out in the streets at the end of time, just float out there.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's called Toy Story Parking, but they have a bus that will take you to the front.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: I prefer to walk, it is a long walk, but you get to walk past a Walgreens and then get myself a seltzer and personally, I like that.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're not visiting that often, ignore what I just said, and go to Pixar pals or to Mickey and Friends.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's talk about what we're going to do with the park, because I'm not going to list off all the rhymes you can go on.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is just what we're telling a friend.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: They can do that on their own.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: But we got to talk about skipping lines, because that is something where expertise comes into play.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Now, as everyone knows, you got to pay for fast pass.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's called Lightning Lane Multi Pass, but there are also Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Premier Pass if you feel like blowing $400 or so dollars per person.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: lightning lane multi pass just like fast pass will essentially help you do more during the day for a fee.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: It works, it helps get you on more stuff, it helps you pack more into the day, and in a way helps you get more out of the money that you spent on your ticket.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: You can buy an advance and be locked into a rate of around 32 dollars I think it is.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's between 3032 or 3234.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: So 32 bucks around there is what it costs, or you can buy it day up.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: And it will help you during your day do more period and it'll help you do a lot more.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not absolutely necessary because if you're arriving in the afternoon or closer to evening, it's going to kind of be a waste of money.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: If you arrive early, you get the most use out of lightning lane multipass.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: because you can't book anything until your entire party is inside the park.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're showing up, 8 a.m. ready to go, banging down those doors and walking through the gates, you were going to get the most use out of something that you would pay the same amount for even if someone bought it at 4 p.m. and can maybe only get a lightning-laner two to rise, they don't even really want to go on anyway.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: If you are traveling with little kids, most of the rides that you're going to go on do not take lightning lane.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: So definitely take that into consideration.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Stuff like Dumbo, Peter Pan, Snow White, the Carousel, all of that is just waiting in lines and they're never usually that long.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll get up there, you may have to wait up to about 40-ish minutes, 45, which is why I never go on it, because I don't like waiting in line just to roast in the sun, but otherwise there's plenty you can do without having to pay extra for this product.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Also, depending on your party mix and kind of what the range of ages is that you're traveling with, consider not getting it for the whole family.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: If you are traveling with young children or babies, I will link in a show notes those episodes.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: I really put my whole button to those.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: I really put a lot of work into those to make sure anybody traveling with a child has all the information they need.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: That is a deep dive and I implore you to go listen to those if that is your journey with going to the parks.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: So that's lightning lane multi pass.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's also lightning lane single pass, which used to be individual lightning lane because it's have been rebranded so many times in my head is spinning.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: Remember GD plus?
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: We've lived a lot of lives in the past few years, people, we're old, higher.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Now, individual lightning lanes are expensive, you're paying a lot of money for one single ding-dong ride, but those are the most in-demand rides of the park, and it'll guarantee that you get on them without having to wait a very, very long time.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: Those rides are radiator springs racers at Disney California Adventure, the Cars Ride, if you're fancy, and then also Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Resort.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Both great rides, both will have long lines, but there are ways to skip lines, including from one of those without having to pay any money.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I will tell you all about that after this quick break.
- 17:00[UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Since this is a Disney land guide, right?
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm basically yapping it you about all the advice I would give to a friend.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: I gotta give it to you straight.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: There are ways to skip the line without having to pay money.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's a single rider line at 11 rides across Disney land resort right now.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: Holy cow, that is so many freaking rides.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: 11?
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: 11, let me read them to you.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: So, it didn't even park.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: We have, um, I feel like I'm giving you a class presentation.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: We have single writer lines available at Indiana Jones Adventure, Tiana's Value Adventure, Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bob's Leds, and Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: We also have single writer lines, and coasters like Goofy's Sky School and in credit coaster, Radiator Springs Racers, Grizzly River Run, Web Slingers, the Spider-Man Rine, and Sorin over California.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: That is an unbelievable array of attractions that you can wait in a possibly shorter line if you are a party of one.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you are traveling with friends or like other adults by the way, I always recommend doing this.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not guaranteed that the single rider lines will be open.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's not guaranteed that you're going to wait much less, but usually if you roll your drizzling layer cards right, like you can get away with a lot using the single rider line.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like you can do a ton and have a great Disneyland day without having to spend extra money.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: No joke, I'm so floored by there being 11 single-rider line attractions that I'm out of breath.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: My body is like things just ran a marathon because I was so overwhelmed by that news.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: 11!
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: 11!
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: Nip!
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: The reason this is important is because of something like radiator springs racers, the marquee main attraction over at Carsland at Disney California Adventure.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: That is the only ride that offers single-rider, which means that you wait, you board by yourself, you can wait with friends, you can gab in line, it's like totally cool,
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: that they offer that and they offer lightning lane single pass, which means that you can either pay a bunch of money to skip the line on this or you can wait in the regular line or you can wait in a single rider, you have a multitude of options.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: But keep in mind, lightning lane single pass costs money.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: It is today on a Thursday.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: 23 dollars per person, just to skip the line or to wait in a shorter line on rated or springs racers.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: Drew Taylor, a fellow reporter and close friend who is recently on the podcast, remarked that when him and his wife bought lightning-named single pass to go and rise to the resistance, the Star Wars ride.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: They, him and his wife turned to each other and were like, that's how much we spent on dinner.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just to go on one single ride.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: So it's good to keep single rider lines in your back pocket, which is what I advise.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Whether or not you are using lightning lane multipasser, lightning lane single pass, because you can get a lot more done in your day.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: If you kind of use it like one of your tools at your disposal.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: There's also buddy pass.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: This is kind of a dwindling art form, but it is currently available on two attractions.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: Winnie the Pooit Disneyland and Monsters Inc at DCA.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: It is not always open.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: I use it often on Monsters Inc and I say every like two out of five times the line isn't currently open and they tell me to come back and that's fine.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: But it is worth inquiring about to the cast member standing at the front of the
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty great.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: You will still wait in a short line for Monsters Inc.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: But for Winnie the Pooh, if I get, they basically, they give you a little piece of paper and then you walk to the exit of the Rhine.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know Winnie the Pooh.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting none Winnie the Pooh almost immediately.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now your party has to be between in one and loosely three people.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: Your party has to be able to fit in one row.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: You will be in the back of the attraction.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: And as long as you get fit in that row,
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: You're good, but there is a new version of this, which I think is actually superior.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's called double writer.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: It quietly popped up on Lenin Falkin Smuggler's run.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Steph, if you're listening, thank you for the tip on this one.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: And it just...
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: appear one day.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: They never said anything they don't call buddy pass, but you can go to Millennium Falcon Smugglers run and if the line is long, you and a friend can go in the in the single rider line.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's the same entrance as this double rider thing they just made up and you will go on the ride together.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now you may be, I don't know, when I see you don't love on Millennium Falcon Smugglers run.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: But guess what?
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: The poorly designed aren't for them with that ride means that you're probably going to sit and say,
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: So waste less time.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: And if you get engineered, then you least get to decide where you're going.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: And that is a lot more fun than it used to be.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I just want to stress if you want to get the most out of your Disneyland day, mix and match these different things.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just keep them in mind.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: Just knowing about them is helpful because these products together can help you do a lot more especially on a single day visit.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: But we're not just here for rides, okay?
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're not just going to do anything for rides.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: We're treating it like a mall food court because a major part of Disney Disneyland is, of course, this next.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: There are really iconic grab and go bites here, like Mickey pretzels and turkey legs and hand-tipped corn dogs which are actually incredible.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: They have,
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: delicious popcorn is my favorite food.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: They have trueros and seasonal versions of them.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of things at carts throughout the parks.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: But there are some iconic things that are only available at specific locations I want to make sure you know about.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: People love the pickles.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, people are obsessed with the pickles.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't get it.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's not my second choice.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: But people love the friggin pickles down.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: They are at fruit carts, which is what they're casually referred to.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: If you see a cart that has like a bunch of ice and some baby bells on it, bingo, you found it.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you can find the pickles.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're interested by that, I definitely recommend it because people be obsessed.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: Stuffed pretzels.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: Not a regular Mickey pretzel, but a pretzel with stuff in on the inside.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: You can get cream cheese.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: You can get it with the other one.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: Is it spicy cheese?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: Hold up, listeners of the podcast know I never trust my brain and sometimes I should because the options are cream cheese and jalapeno cheese.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Those are stuffed pretzels, a little bit different than a makey brissel.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: People are obsessed with them.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can get them at certain carts but reliably you can get them at refreshment corner.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: If you're walking towards the castle, that'll be the last stop on your left on Main Street before you hit Jolly Holiday Restaurant.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: Climb it up the old viral chart towards becoming true Disneyland classics are things like Jimmy Changa's, which you can find over by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: The cheesy pretzel bread and Maurice's treats now at 8 o'clock snacks, I think they're maybe the other one, but Maurice's treats is the stand to the left of the castle, so if you're facing the castle and you see a little walkway towards like
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like basically it's not it's not it doesn't fantasy land is forward, but left is also like kind of fantasy land if fantasy land theater you have princess meet and greet you won't be able to see that from where you are So if you're facing the castle there's a small bridge to the left take the little bridge boom digity you're right there at the stand that has this Pretzel bread everyone loves it.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: They've a breakfast version.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: They shove some scrambled eggs in it.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know people love it not my bag
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: Enjoy.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, true.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Trophy.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like true.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: Trophy stock is depleting.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a Disneyland person, you know what I'm talking about.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: Trophy was the hottest treats in town for so long.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: And now, I feel like as the price gets more expensive, it's worth like $8.29 now, probably it's so expensive.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like people aren't talking about it as much.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: But true, Trophy is exactly what I said.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's Trophy.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: It is covered in cinnamon sugar, and I believe a white chocolate coating.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: You can get it at any of the candy stores and either of the park and outside the park as well.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's delicious.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's delicious.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's a reason it became super viral few years ago.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's just absolutely delicious I think probably the let me take count of the bakery case the cookies are garbage cake pops are fine But like I'm a growner's old and not really eating a cake pop marshal along some marshmallows covered in chocolate If you want to fly your brain to the moon and back like a ping pong ball that'll do it, but yeah, they're kind of the best treat
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: There, because I'm not really getting an apple because they give you a plastic knife to cut it and you don't want to do that, apple to take home it's great.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, yeah, it's about it.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: I do think they're the best thing in the case, typically.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: Bread cones, it cozy cones, and cars land at Disney California Adventure.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: Though we feel like those are kind of permanently on the board.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Those are pretty, the Mavis famous isn't Mickey Pretzel, but they are very known.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: You can get different things in them, seasonally they usually switch it up.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely check that out.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: Dolwip.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, duh.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: But keep in mind, it's not only pineapple soft serve that Disneyland is working with.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: Tropical Hightaway, which is on your watch to jungle crews, it'll be on your left.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: They have fun flavors, like strawberry and peach, and they also have some savory foods where if you want to sit down and kind of make a mini meal out of it, you can.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, a crime that Disney has not rectified for a reason I cannot discern is that actual soft serve, nilla, chocolate, swirl, it is only sold at Disney California Adventure.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I stress this here because every time a friend or family goes to the park they're like, wait, where can I get vanilla soft serve?
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, babes, you can't.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: You can't.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: And the problem is it's so good at DCA.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: It is so good to DCA, and if you were like my brother, you went to DCA on day one of a two-day park ticket, you had soft serve, and you were like, boy, boy, it's three p.m.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait for my little treat, and you can't get it, because you're a Disneyland.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: It is like the emoji gift soft serve.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: It is exactly how you remember it.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: So definitely catch it from Carsland when you can, but keep in mind.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: But that's actually okay, because there are truly no end to how many snacks you will be able to eat even without planning in Disneyland.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: So just walk around, have your eyes guide you, if you see something eating something, be like, what's that?
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll be totally good.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to flag seasonal cold brews are also having a huge moment at Disneyland.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: It can be a little tricky to figure out what's for sale at that exact moment, but the menu has been pretty solid for the last few months.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: uh there's a tiramisu cold brew at Maurice's treats which is of that bridge to the left of the castle it's been for a minute now so I feel like it might stick for a while and the black cherry chocolate cold brew sounds gross I promise it's good and red roast havern tavern oh I went full shit gaggle tavern and red tavern style pizza
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Red rose tavern in fantasy land has this like so it's like chocolate cold brew But doesn't taste like a mocha.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like a hint of chocolate and then a black cherry foam on top I usually would never go for that flavor profile.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's fantastic.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: I've gotten it multiple times Highly recommend also get that before you go to Tune Town because they only have plain cold brew It a lot of the food stands around the park and in Tune Town and if you're with kids You're gonna be trapped in Tune Town.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna be running up the hills.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going down the slide You're gonna be there and be like I'm gonna show you how to flavor gold brew Grabbing for you go in and you're set to go
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: The closest one to there would be that gross mud cake one over at Trubodor Tavern, where the bluebie show currently is not my bag, but enjoy if that sounds appealing to you.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I recently tried the Pecan cold brew over at Smoke Jumpers Grill in Disney California Adventure by Sorin.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: and it was a p-can cold brew, which I didn't love the flavor of the cold brew, but it had a salted maple cold foam, which was fantastic.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: It could also be caramel drizzles and waffle pieces, which personally I'm not supposed to eat, and it gave me a really bad tummyache, because it was supposed to have waffle pieces, and I had like two pieces and it took me down, but I recommend that one as well.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: And if you need an actual espresso situation that isn't straight sugary, the cappuccino card in Disney California adventure is the quickest way to get a proper coffee in either of the parks.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: They also have a Bernafi pie cold brew, which is butter scotch cold brew.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like the flavor of that one though, topped with banana foam and chocolate shavings.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: The banana foam is fantastic.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: If you need an actual proper espresso based drink quickly, that is where you're going to go.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, you're going to go to Starbucks and either park, but the lines can be quite long.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: Also, an extra thing, you're a deli, in DCA, to have a gear a deli, they also have a spresso, which I never clock.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I need to try and add to see if their coffee game is legit, but also, if you're like into a mocha, that might be the move.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_00]: I can be a little tricky to figure out exactly what is the best thing to get at any moment, because the menus change so often, it doesn't even resort.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you're looking at TikToks or reels, just be mindful of the date when people are posting because the menus can switch often.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to go the extra mile and really plan out your sweets and your treats, head to Disney, head to Disney Park's blog, I'm going to say Disney's Park's blog.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, head to Disney Park's blog and look for a foodie guide, which we'll tell you seasonally what is to come.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: That is especially good drink festivals during holidays, during Halloween, things like that, but actually you're around because they always have something going on.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: What you need to know above all, though, exclamation point, exclamation point, alarm emoji, alarm emoji.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Mobile order is king here.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Do not go to Disneyland Resort without the app already preloaded on your phone ready to go.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: I say this often and I will say it again.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: When you decide, it's time to eat.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's already too late.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna be waiting way too long.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: My probably number one tip for visiting Disneyland is to place mobile orders in advance for later in the day.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: I always recommend to walk into the park immediately book a lightning lane if you have lightning lane multi pass, then go get an online for a ride that you don't have a lightning lane for.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: while you are in that line, map out your meals for the rest of the day and plan out your orders.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Because your plans may change and the timing you want to eat at may change, but you do not pay until you pick it up.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: So adjusting the timing on a midday lunch to be 30 minutes later, or even an afternoon treat, is going to save you time and absolutely no extra effort to you.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: And typically, it works out and it's great because you already have lunch ready, you know your plan, and you save so much time that way.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: Sidebar.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: I just remembered cookies and harbour galley.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot about those.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: Those are like warm cookies you can get mmm.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yum.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many snacks and forgetting, but ooh, I got to rain it in.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: I got to rain it in because this isn't a full guide.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: This is just just the advice just the tips.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you were curious and wanted to like brainstorm with what meals you may want to eat that day, I always recommend going into the Disneyland app and pretending like you're going to mobile order.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: Especially if you're a few days out and just you know want to kill some time.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll charge you or anything unless you check out.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: We'll actually need to check out, I won't charge you either, but you know, if you're not actually going to need it, don't buy it.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: But every mobile order entry on the menu has a photo of each dish which the restaurant menus do not.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: And it's way easier to parse through all those photos than just reading text and imagining what you might be served.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: That is for quick service for some snacks for things around the park.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: There are also sit-down restaurants, and sit-down restaurants book up so quick, so stupidly quickly it's dumb.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's dumb that there's like no availability for these restaurants.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why, and while I do like a few, and I will name check the ones that I do, it is kind of a hassle to try to land these reservations.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's a time in a place, if you are going on a proper vacation, if you're there for a few days, you're going to want to make reviews, but it is kind of a lot if you're there for one day.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_00]: I recommend using their walk-up waitlist function.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's in the app.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you're standing nearby, you can just go be poop in your phone and be like, if there's availability, they can probably accommodate you.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: But...
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: friend of friend.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: My tip is always to do that, but also check in at the desk because if you're nice, if you're nice and you're like, not expecting anything and you're like, hey, like we would love to eat here, we weren't sure the vibe like how long it might take, do you think there's a chance we would get seated?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: They can sometimes because you're there, and sometimes if you're nice, I'm not saying they will, but
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: Just knowing you're physically there and you're ready to sit and you're ready to spend money.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: It can't help.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's just the way.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's just the way life works.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: Now, at the time of recording this, my favorite sit-down reservation restaurants are Coronation Cafe at Disneyland.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's off of Main Street.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: They have fried pickles.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: They have burgers like it's just a really easy accessible menu that's usually pretty good.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: I tend to like their food a lot in Disneyland.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: Trigger reservation to get, sitting inside is high-end.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: Don't sit inside wait for an outside table, sitting inside is bad.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: I also think Carthay Circle at DCA is a very special restaurant, but again, that's going to be a long meal.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a little more of like a nice elegant place, so it is going to be pricey, but it's a great experience.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're there for a day, that's not really going to work.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: Restaurants I have to mention, I'm legally required to recommend to you if you're going to Disney in the resort, is Cafe Orleans for Montequistos.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're known for that.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: However, a few years ago, they changed the fries, and I really don't want to go back.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is how deep in the lore I am now.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: I used to be...
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: Cash will guess.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: I used to show up and be like, Oh, they have this year.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they've arrived fun.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm out here protesting a restaurant for years on end because they changed the French fries.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Disney adult.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: I also recommend storytellers cafe.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: at Disney's Grand California hotel if you want a character meal.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: There are other options, but I think that that one's the best and I went to the holiday one.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I went to the Christmas time one.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna say holiday because it was straight of Christmas.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: It was Christmas.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: It was straight of Christmas.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was amazing.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: The characters were amazing.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't love the buffet.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing I'm writing home about with the food, but the character experiences there were nice and I think that is better than cookies kitchen, which is a Disneyland hotel, which really feels like you are, um, I see that chef Mickey's at Disney world.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: This is for people.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry for anyone listening to this as a casual Disney person, as a restaurant called Chef Mickey's that is a character dining restaurant at Disney World.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: I say it feels like a pediatrician's waiting room.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: Kofi's kitchen feels like you're waiting in the ER.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're in the urgent care.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, it's true.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: However, you see the characters and that is great and it does the trick, but not the vibe that I prefer to spend.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of money on because the stuff adds up if you have a family or going to group people and that's up.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_00]: It adds up.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: I am not really in a table service mood lately in case you couldn't tell when I go to Disneyland Resort.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: I am doing quick service which means I'm getting food at a counter and I'm finding a table and more often than not.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm eating the same freaking meal and it is a bread bowl with macaroni and cheese that I'm splitting with my child because I'm a lot of dietary restrictions right now but you know what?
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's how we're doing bread is something I can eat and that's how our bread is fantastic and it has not been proven.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_00]: But the sourdough the closer you are to boot down bakery.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they got a whole sourdough bakery in the San Francisco E area.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: They updated the theme whatever whatever in this area.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: They have a whole sourdough like factory.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: If this restaurant Ant's cast cafe is connected to it their sourdough is fresher than around the resort I don't care what you tell me.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care if it's wrong I know when in my bones to be true that sourdough is like fresh off the line and delicious
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking, I'm very picky about fresh bread, that bread is good.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I really recommend if you want to get a meal throughout the day, Disney California Adventure, San Francisco.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of in the center of the park before you reach the big, Mickey Fun Wheel.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: That area has multiple dining locations, meaning that if you guys want different stuff, you can all come together and eat and it's really, really convenient.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's really convenient that no matter what you want to eat, you can all sit together easily.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: Flows is also a place people love.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: You take it to their own and it Disneyland Rancho Del Zokalo, which is a Mexican restaurant that does not have mobile order used to be my go to.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the menu is very good right now.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: They streamlined it.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like a factory.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: The food is very like, oh, I don't want to say this is going to get in trouble.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: It feels a little, a feeling lately it feels a little more like Mexican menu day at your high school cafeteria.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm sorry.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, but these have a lot of cool stuff cooking there.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: These have a lot of fun, interesting entrees that weren't just like children's bean and cheese burrito.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now, they used to have, or Chata, they used to have all this stuff, and it's not there right now, so I'm going for it.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying, I don't like to go there that much anymore.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just kind of eat wherever I am, whenever I'm hungry, but more often than not, I'm going on my way to an endcast cafe to give me the bread bowl.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_00]: That, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: Woo, it's good.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you are here to get your drink on.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: If you want a nice cocktail, look no further than Carthole Circle Lounge, that is a Disney California adventure, it delivers.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's exactly what you wanted to be.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: There are many bars, like the hotels, and DCA, including Trader Sam's, a Disneyland Hotel, that is a destination, but like if you're going to have one drink and you're there at the park for a day or two, Carthole Circle Lounge is the elegant experience
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: Do know that the food is small plates and super overpriced.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: It can be tricky to get a table.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: You can do the walk-up situation there.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I have successfully been able to do that.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: But that's kind of like, that's kind of the place I like to go.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_00]: I always pack snacks, 100% packs snacks, especially if you're a local.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: Just have a granola bar to in your bag.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you're a line in your hunger, you're going to want to eat it.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_00]: I do have noticed this week that I eat more than other people.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: I ate so many snacks when I was with a group of new friends at Disneyland.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: This past weekend that they were like, wow!
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: You always have a snack and I was like, is nobody hungry.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_00]: We have an eaten in 90 minutes, but again, pack a snack, pack a snack.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: Other advice, if you were going to Disneyland Resort, I guess chilly at night.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: So bringing a layer is annoying because you'll be hot during the day.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: I recommend pooling with friends or other people in your party to get a locker and shove everything in there.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you go early enough in the day, there should be availability.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, a lot of my friends just go and plan to buy a spirit jersey or a sweatshirt at night, and that's their little souvenir treat, and that way they don't have to carry it around all day.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I mean, I could you call it a hack?
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but it's easier than carrying something around all day.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: I usually have a tote bag or a bagu that I carry another layer in.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, in the colder months, I will pack hand warmers.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not kidding Disneyland gets colder than most people will tell you about.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: It is my job to tell you as somebody who gets cold easily, that you could be extremely cold at Disneyland at night, especially in winter.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like desert rules, so make sure you plan ahead for that.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: Other advice, Disneyland has a small footprint, which means it's gonna feel crowded even if it's not that crowded.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: So make sure you find ways to take breaks and to step away from the crowd to chill out if it all feels like a little too much.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: Fantasyland especially has a traffic pattern.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you are around that part, I'm like a Saturday in the fall or in the winter, you're gonna be like, so find somewhere to chill out, have a snack, reset, and then go on with your day.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: Calaverant Adventure will always feel more open because they have larger walkways, but also if there's food festival, I'm still going to feel pretty jammed in there.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: Entertainment at Disneyland.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: The schedule is all over the board, so we're not going to get specific, but at nighttime there's everything from fireworks.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: to Phantasmic, which is a waterfront show.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's a nighttime parade.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: There's a, a waterfront show with DCGA.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: There's a bunch of stuff, but it's not always happening every night, and it changes all the friggin' time for seasons, and then for like summer ending, and then like the 70 is ending, and then the holiday started, it's always different.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: Check the calendar.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is my rule.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's all you need to know.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: Check the calendar.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes there just won't be fireworks.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: Check the calendar to make sure you know what you were getting yourself into when you visit.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: Now a few quick things before we go, stuff people regularly sleep on that we just gotta talk about more.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: It is so easy to see characters here without having to wait in lines.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, never ending lines.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: You may have to wait a little, but the lines are not that bad.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_00]: When you walk into Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure, most of the day, you're going to see Mickey and friends, and especially in the morning, there, out in a bell on the town.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, I'm Gilmore Girls, others like always people milling about the town.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's what means for USA is at these parts, and we have this street, DCA, they're on the bow.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: There are proper meat and greets throughout the resort, back in Tune Town, you can go to Mickey's house and Minnie's house, but the weight is long.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's so much easier to get the job done here when you walk in.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, the kind of like sets you up for success.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: It starts your day off on this really happy note, because you weren't meant, you weren't even Mickey.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: You weren't even Pluto.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: You weren't such a good day like it really, it really makes this place so magical.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: It really does.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: And also throughout the parks, you'll walk around and see characters all over in a way that you won't inflore.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like the Disney you imagined in your brain, but it's actually real.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it's hip for DCA.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite place to sit, maybe to decompress, to have lunch, I will bring food over from Ann Cascafe, sitting outside of flows, best feeling the park bar none.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: Castle's great, but sitting there eating food, watching the cars drive by, feeling like you're kind of in nature, even though you're literally in a former parking lot, it's exceptional.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: And if you are traveling with young people or people who got an energy out, usually young people are the same, but anyway, Redwood Creek Challenge Trails at Disney California Adventure, nobody talks about this.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: I like never went here for years.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: It is an unbelievable
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: Obstacle course adventure zone like it is just beautifully themed Empacily themed you feel like you're in a forest kids run around their slides There's like the thing where like you hang on in your zoom I'm like hang on you know the thing and we're like you hang on go we Am I making sense what is that you hang on to like a little like a little like it's like an iron oh my god If I keep talking about I'm gonna sound like I don't live on planet earth Um, you just like me not a zip line.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even a zip line.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: You're like it's like the playground version.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god
- 40:55[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, I don't know what it's called, sorry for anyone who's yelling at me in their cards.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: They know the name.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: There's like these multi-level netting walking structures, great place to get the sillies out, and it's beautiful, it's a beautiful environment to be in.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: Last but not least, I want to set you up for success with some people you got to follow for basically, up to the day, up to the week updates for Disneyland Resort.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: For news and schedule changes, be sure to follow David Vaughn, California Disney Bliss, who does monthly updates at the start of every month for closures and any details you need to know with really good recommendations about what to pack, highly recommend those, Kelly and we don't wear ears, Kelly's on top of it, Kelly knows everything, especially if it's your first time here, definitely head there, all of these things will be in the show notes, by the way, chasing magic daily, food at Disneyland, as well as the main outlets like all ears, Disney food blog, Mickey, visit the regular news sites, I will put all this in the show notes.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget to follow Blake Silva and the Magical Millennial, especially if you're interested in pins or merch.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: They cover Disneyland extensively, but especially they are kind of the go-to people at this point for merch related stuff.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: If you have any questions, do you want me to call me?
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's 747-Charles on the Truths Hotline.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you are new here, welcome.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you like it.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you fall in love with Disneyland Resort and stay.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: We're gabbing all the time and not always about Disney.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: I love to have you.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: If you need anything, hit me up and have so much fun.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you enjoyed this mini episode and I'll see you next week with another one for a different theme park resort.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be Disney World, obviously.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, here's my theme park question so I surprise my wife and daughter with a two day trip to Disney World in November we're going to be doing jollywood.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_02]: one day, but we are now having an epic debate on what we should do the first day, whether we should do Magic Kingdom or Epcot.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: So question, if you had just one day at the park, which one would you recommend doing Magic Kingdom or Epcot?
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is a debate for the ages and I immediately had a gut instincts and I do think that my choice is correct.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know the age of your daughter.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: That does affect this a little.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: If they are four, that's going to be very different than if they are 14.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: However, I do think I'm still going to stick with the same choice.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I am going to, somewhat shockingly,
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: Recommend to Epcot.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now you are in November.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the timing of your trip, but if Jolly would is happening and I'm gonna assume Mickey's, I almost said not so scary.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: Mickey's very Merry Christmas party may also be happening at that time.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: That means it is possible that on your magic kingdom day you might not be able to see fireworks, which boo, we do, I'm literally like thumbs down in person.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_00]: We do not like that, especially if you're only going to a park one park for one day.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Epcot will probably have festival the holidays then there will be a
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: activations.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: I can't think of a better word even though that is so marketing speak.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: But that is a great option for you.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I actually see because you were going on a two-day trip and Jollywood is one day.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning that that day you're not really going to the park you're only going afternoon evening to Jollywood.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think EPCOT is a fantastic choice for you.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: And here's why.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you can live two very different days within the same day at EPCOT specifically.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: You can go in the morning, you can do the rides, you can do guardians, you can do all of that in the morning.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: Then you can take a break back at the hotel, or you can go to a long sit-down lunch.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then you can explore World Showcase all night, or vice versa.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: What's World Showcase Showcase opens, because it doesn't all open when the park opens.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what I mean.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you can really squeeze a lot of juice out of abcontent, and have a lot of different experiences at this point.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I know.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: I know a lot of us have a lot of thoughts about what they've done to Epcot.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they have done some stuff good in remodeling it, some stuff not as good, but there is a lot you can do now, like you can see.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: We always get pulled into that in Conto live show, um, the Moana journey of water, why am I making it in the name journey of water featuring Moana?
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, journey of water starring Moana?
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_00]: journey of water.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: Inspired by Moana.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: We got it.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's in there somewhere.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think that there's so many different things you can do with Epcot now in Modern Epcot that you can really have a full fun day there doing different stuff.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: I do recommend if you weren't only doing Epcot, make a table service reservation for a fun, I don't know, maybe like a beer garden style restaurant not to bully you into it.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's pretty great, like have us sit down reservation here at lunchtime or dinner time and really just like live out a dream upcott day I need to get back to Disney World because I also feel like this advice is to me personally.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you have so much fun.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: Also, you've surprised your family.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: That is adorable.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is so nice.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I'll never be surprised with the Disney trip because I'm the Disney planner.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_00]: So as someone who's on this side, I just, I, I, it's amazing.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope that they are so excited and I hope you have the most wonderful trip.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for calling and have a good time at Epcot because go to Epcot, go to Epcot.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's a show.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you all so much for listening to this mini episode.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you enjoyed it I really feel like this is helpful to have on the feed so if you have a friend that's like, you know Like on a Disneyland or Disney World you can be like, oh, just hit play on this.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that long It'll give you all the info you need and that way you don't have to type out an email for two hours at night Which is something I often like oh, I gotta get all my thoughts out to someone who wants to go to the parks
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: This just makes it easy.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: Easy, breezy!
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it's all about.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: You can read if you want to follow us on Apple, podcast and rain follow us on Spotify.

- 46:36[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for helping us grow very new.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: And for letting this be my job because, oh my god, this is my job.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's wild.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a mother and this is my job.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: Life is very unpredictable.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: You can give us a call at 7-7 Churros.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: Keep those calls coming.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_00]: I answered, some not all on the Churros online, so I would love to keep doing that.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you're planning a trip and planning to save so much freaking money this summer, OMG, what is happening at Disneyland?
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: It is wild.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_00]: Hit up MEI Mouse Band Travel in mousebandtravel.com slash amusing.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: That lets them know that you're one of us.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're just into like a cool fun trip to a theme park or a universal or a cruise.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_00]: You want to save some money?
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: want to see if your options are and they will take care of you and they will charge you anything for it which is absolutely bizarre.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it's incredible.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_00]: I've wasted so much time of my life on the Walt Disney World website and I'm so grateful to them for saving me from that and then going forward.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now spend travel.com slash music.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_00]: They got you.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: Follow me at currently by Zell Join the Phomely at Facebook.com slash group slash partly by Zell.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: Subscribe to my Instagram 99 cents a month.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_00]: I basically post a daily at this point.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone else they see also are pricing their subscribers at 499.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of money.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: 499 is a lot of money.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm out here, I think 99 cents for my understanding is the cheapest it can be, which is, I guess, doesn't think about how I think of myself, but I'm like, I know why more than 99 cents.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: 399?
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's why the Patreon imploded.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: It was too much pressure for me to be like I'm taking people's money.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, like I couldn't fulfill it.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_00]: It drove me up a while.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't do it I was like I'm taking these people's dollars.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have to I have to give them everything.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_00]: It just was not for me 99 cents.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: I feel confident that you get 99 cents worth of fun out of it I feel confident that price point feels good so if you want to come hang out give it a shot for a month If you leave, it doesn't tell me.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure it does somewhere.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't look for it, but like if you
- 48:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's fine, just like give it a shot, and if you don't like it, the buy, it's okay.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_00]: Just give it a shot if you can, and I know there's a weird bug.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're not everyone who has subscribed.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: I have scheduled emails out to someone at Instagram, so I'm not annoying, but I check in like every four weeks.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully we'll get a breakdown at some point.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yep, that's all.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for listening.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we will be back with two more weeks of many guides.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, hope you have a great summer.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_00]: See you real soon.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: Hey sweetie, it's mom, I sound a little weird.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: I had a little mild surgery, so sorry, but it's a gift session.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_01]: I can say that, so I kind of lost my voice because of it, but one thing about you, you will take the craziest deer.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I knew that you wouldn't drink your milk if that pancake house last night in the delves and guess what, you did.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: You always will do it to prove me wrong.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: You will, you'll drink the whole thing.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I always keep my word and yes, we did go back to the water park.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: But to me, Wisconsin Delta is amazing.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: It is so great.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: It is Las Vegas for kids.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's $25 every 15 minutes.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: It used to be like 15, 20, but now, but inflation, it's like $25 every 15 minutes.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: But you get the bed and pages, the gold mining, the miniature golf, the gold carks, the candy stars, and of course, the water parks and our favorite Paul Bunions.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_01]: Where's the weight?
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: Worked the weight in the line at Paul Bunions,
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: They had for a lunch with like a brunch breakfast, eggs, pancakes, bacon, and those sugary doughnuts.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is what see them in my, in front of my eyes, they were so good, but then I introduced dinner fried chicken.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that was so good, I think it was the first ones to arrive because it's dead, dead, favorite, and he was so excited.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: So he would only drive three and a half hours from our house to Wisconsin, Dallas, to go to Paul Bunyan.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't care about it.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: We even bought those blue and white spotted coffee cups, remember, was there something still such a fan?
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: Great episode, honey.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: I love you so much.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I love you, Pearl.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love you, John Stamels.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I will see you very soon.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very excited.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: Bye-bye, sweetie.
