- 0:00Mark chapter 13, As he was going out of the temple, one of his
- 0:04disciples said to him, Teacher, behold what wonderful stones and
- 0:08what wonderful buildings, And Jesus said to him, Do you see
- 0:12these great buildings? Not one stone will be left upon
- 0:15another, which will not be torn down.
- 0:18As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple,
- 0:20Peter and James and John and Andrew were questioning him
- 0:23privately. Tell us when will these things
- 0:26be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going
- 0:29to be fulfilled? And Jesus began to say to them,
- 0:32See to it that no one misleads you.
- 0:34Many will come in my name saying I am He and will mislead many.
- 0:39When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened.
- 0:43Those things must take place. But that is not yet the end, for
- 0:47nation will rise up against nation, and Kingdom against
- 0:50Kingdom. There will be earthquakes in
- 0:52various places. There will also be famines.
- 0:55These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
- 0:58But be on your guard, for they will deliver you to the courts,
- 1:03and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand
- 1:05before governors and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them.
- 1:10The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
- 1:13When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry
- 1:15beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given
- 1:19you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but it is the
- 1:22Holy Spirit. Brother will betray brother to
- 1:25death, and a father his child, and children will rise up
- 1:29against parents and have them put to death.
- 1:32You will be hated by all because of my name, but the one who
- 1:35endures to the end, he will be saved.
- 1:38But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it
- 1:41should not be, let the reader understand.
- 1:43Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
- 1:46The one who is on the housetop must not go down or go in to get
- 1:49anything out of his house, and the one who is in the field must
- 1:52not turn back to get his coat. But woe to those who are
- 1:55pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days.
- 1:59But pray that it may not happen in the winter, for those days
- 2:02will be a time of tribulation, such as has not occurred since
- 2:06the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and
- 2:09never will. Unless the Lord had shortened
- 2:12those days, no life would have been saved but for the sake of
- 2:15the elect whom He chose. He shortened the days.
- 2:18And then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or
- 2:22behold, He is there, do not believe Him.
- 2:25For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will
- 2:28show signs and wonders in order to lead astray, if possible, the
- 2:32elect. But take heed, behold, I have
- 2:35told you everything in advance. But in those days after that
- 2:38tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not
- 2:41give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and
- 2:45the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.
- 2:47Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great
- 2:50power and glory. Then He will send forth the
- 2:53angels and will gather together His elect from the four winds,
- 2:56from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of
- 2:58heaven. Now learn the parable from the
- 3:01fig tree. When its branch has already
- 3:03become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is
- 3:07near. Even so, you too, when you see
- 3:10these things happening, recognize that He is near right
- 3:13at the door. Truly, I say to you, this
- 3:16generation will not pass away until all these things take
- 3:18place. Heaven and earth will pass away,
- 3:21but my words will not pass away. But of that day or hour no one
- 3:26knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the
- 3:29Father alone. Take heed, keep on the alert,
- 3:33for you do not know when the appointed time will come.
- 3:36It is like a man away on a journey who, upon leaving his
- 3:39house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one
- 3:42his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert.
- 3:46Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know when the master
- 3:49of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or
- 3:53when the rooster crows, or in the morning, in case he should
- 3:56come suddenly and find you asleep.
- 3:58What I say to you, I say to all be on the alert.
