- 0:00Speaker 1: They basically said that we have one in there's somebody missing.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Well, they didn't know.
- 0:04Speaker 1: There was somebody missing until this leaker gave the information.
- 0:07Speaker 1: So whoever it was, we think we'll be able to
- 0:09Speaker 1: find it out because we're going to go to the
- 0:11Speaker 1: media company that released it and we're going to say
- 0:14Speaker 1: national Security, give it up or go to jail.
- 0:17Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Good Tuesday morning.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Nice to have you with us on the forty seven
- 0:23Speaker 4: Morning Update, and we've got two very big stories for
- 0:26Speaker 4: you this morning. First up, President Trump had a White
- 0:29Speaker 4: House press conference talking about Iran and multiple other issues,
- 0:33Speaker 4: including hearing from the Secretary of War.
- 0:35Speaker 2: We're going to break that down for you as well.
- 0:38Speaker 4: And then there's a second story which is getting a
- 0:40Speaker 4: lot of attention, the President saying we're going to find
- 0:44Speaker 4: out who leaked the story about the second down US
- 0:48Speaker 4: pilot in Iran. President was very upset about it and
- 0:52Speaker 4: refer to the person that leaked it as a quote
- 0:54Speaker 4: sick person. We'll have that for you as well. It's
- 0:58Speaker 4: the forty seven Morning Update and it starts arts right now.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Story number one at the White House, President Trump delivered
- 1:04Speaker 4: one of the most intense and consequential briefings of the
- 1:08Speaker 4: ongoing conflict with Iran, making it clear that the next
- 1:12Speaker 4: twenty four to forty eight hours could define everything. The
- 1:15Speaker 4: President opened by highlighting what he called a historic and
- 1:19Speaker 4: highly complex military success, the daring rescue of two down
- 1:24Speaker 4: American airmen deep inside Iranian territory.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Thursday night, an American F fifteen fighter jet went down
- 1:33Speaker 1: deep inside enemy territory in Iran while participating in Operation
- 1:39Speaker 1: Epic Fury, where we're doing unbelievably well well at a
- 1:43Speaker 1: level that nobody's ever seen before. The entire country could
- 1:47Speaker 1: be taken out in one night, and that night might
- 1:50Speaker 1: be tomorrow night. Both members of the crew ejected from
- 1:53Speaker 1: the aircraft and landed alive on Iranian soil. I immediately
- 1:59Speaker 1: was asked to make a decision. I ordered the US
- 2:03Speaker 1: Armed Forces to do whatever was necessary to bring our
- 2:06Speaker 1: brave warriors back home. A risky decision because we could
- 2:10Speaker 1: have ended up with one hundred dead as opposed to
- 2:13Speaker 1: one or two. It's a hard decision to make, but
- 2:16Speaker 1: in the United States Military, we leave no American behind.
- 2:21Speaker 5: We don't do it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Within hours of our Armed Forces deployed twenty one military
- 2:26Speaker 1: aircraft into hostile airspace, many flying at very low altitude, being.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Shot by bullets.
- 2:32Speaker 1: You bring rifles into play when you go in that
- 2:34Speaker 1: low but there are also certain advantages. And in broad
- 2:39Speaker 1: daylight over Iran for seven hours at times, facing very
- 2:43Speaker 1: very heavy enemy fire. We have a helicopter. There's got
- 2:47Speaker 1: a lot of bullets in it. It's amazing. We just
- 2:50Speaker 1: realized how good those weapons are, those our machines are.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Nobody has, Nobody has the equipment that we have, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: nobody has the military that we have, not even the
- 3:01Speaker 1: most powerful military anywhere in the world by far. The
- 3:04Speaker 1: flight crews and warfighters aboard those aircraft took extraordinary risks
- 3:08Speaker 1: to rescue their fellow service members. This first wave of
- 3:13Speaker 1: search and rescue forces successfully located the pilot of the
- 3:16Speaker 1: F fifteen and he was extracted from enemy territory by
- 3:22Speaker 1: an H eight sixty Jolly Green two helicopter. Fabulous machine
- 3:27Speaker 1: as their warriors faced gunfire at very close range. It's
- 3:32Speaker 1: amazing that when you look at the machinery, what happened
- 3:35Speaker 1: that nobody was even injured. Meanwhile, the second crew member,
- 3:39Speaker 1: weapons system officer, a highly respected colonel had landed a
- 3:44Speaker 1: significant distance away from the pilot. When you're going at
- 3:47Speaker 1: those speeds, even if you go out two or three
- 3:49Speaker 1: seconds later, it's miles, it's miles and miles away because
- 3:54Speaker 1: you're going fast. He was injured quite badly and stranded
- 3:58Speaker 1: in an area teaming with terrors from the Islamic Revolutionary
- 4:03Speaker 1: Guard Corps ROUGH group, as well as besieged military militia
- 4:08Speaker 1: and local authorities of many On top of everything else,
- 4:13Speaker 1: they told the communities actually withinside of Iran, the people
- 4:19Speaker 1: of Iran, they were given a tremendous incentive to find
- 4:23Speaker 1: this pilot.
- 4:24Speaker 4: The present praising the US forces for executing a mission
- 4:28Speaker 4: that involved elite special forces operation units, dozens of aircraft,
- 4:33Speaker 4: and intelligence deception tactics by the CIA, all while engaging
- 4:38Speaker 4: enemy forces and bringing both American pilots home safely. The
- 4:43Speaker 4: Present made it clear America will always bring its people home,
- 4:47Speaker 4: no matter the risk. The President also wanted to make
- 4:51Speaker 4: it very clear that he was saying thank you to
- 4:53Speaker 4: our US armed forces that were involved, and also saying
- 4:56Speaker 4: thank you to God for protecting them while they were
- 5:00Speaker 4: doing this mission.
- 5:01Speaker 1: I want to thank every member of the USAR forces
- 5:04Speaker 1: involved in these historic operations. They really were historic. It's
- 5:07Speaker 1: just not something that's done and you'd understand it. Not
- 5:11Speaker 1: that they don't want to do it, but when you're
- 5:13Speaker 1: going into areas, when you look at these helicopters, when
- 5:16Speaker 1: you look at the amount of bullets and everything else
- 5:18Speaker 1: that they took, when you go into these areas, you
- 5:21Speaker 1: don't come out like we came out. God was watching us. Well,
- 5:26Speaker 1: it was the Easter. We were in the Easter territory,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I guess, but God was watching us.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Amazing.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Now, the president quickly turned to the warning with Iran,
- 5:37Speaker 4: President Trump issuing now a direct and unmistakable warning to
- 5:42Speaker 4: the country, saying the regime is now facing a very
- 5:44Speaker 4: short deadline to comply with US demands, including halting its
- 5:49Speaker 4: nuclear ambitions and reopening the critical global shipping routes like
- 5:54Speaker 4: the Strait of Hormuz. Trump warned that if Iran refuses,
- 5:57Speaker 4: the United States is prepared to launch massive, overwhelming strikes
- 6:02Speaker 4: hit key infrastructure, including energy and transportation systems, could be
- 6:07Speaker 4: targeted as well, and in his words, Iran could be
- 6:09Speaker 4: taken out in one night if necessary. At the same time,
- 6:14Speaker 4: Trump emphasized he does not want war, but make clear
- 6:17Speaker 4: that America is fully prepared if Iran forces the issue.
- 6:21Speaker 4: The President also claimed intelligence suggests growing internal pressure inside
- 6:26Speaker 4: of Iran, arguing that many civilians want change and are
- 6:30Speaker 4: watching closely what happens next, which brings us to the
- 6:34Speaker 4: Secretary of War Pete Headseth at the White House saying
- 6:37Speaker 4: this about what Iran has decide very quickly.
- 6:42Speaker 5: President Trump understands at peace through strength.
- 6:45Speaker 6: It's not a slogan, it is a doctrine that saves
- 6:48Speaker 6: American lives. He's on wavering commitment to rebuilding our military
- 6:52Speaker 6: and restoring the warrior spirit. Has paid dividends in missions
- 6:57Speaker 6: just like this one. Under his America projects power with
- 7:01Speaker 6: confidence and brings our people home with victory.
- 7:05Speaker 5: And that continues today.
- 7:07Speaker 6: By the way, per the President's direction, today will be
- 7:10Speaker 6: the largest volume of strike since day one of this operation.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Tomorrow even more than today, and then Iran has a
- 7:17Speaker 6: choice choose wisely, because this president does not play around.
- 7:24Speaker 6: You can ask Solimani, you can ask Duro, you can
- 7:28Speaker 6: ask Kimani. To those heroes who planned and executed these rescues,
- 7:33Speaker 6: your nation stands in awe.
- 7:35Speaker 5: I stand in all. The Chairman stands in all.
- 7:38Speaker 6: We all stand in awe of your professionalism and bravery.
- 7:41Speaker 5: We serve for you.
- 7:43Speaker 6: You embody the very best of America To the rescued
- 7:46Speaker 6: airmen and their families.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Welcome home your courage and endurance.
- 7:51Speaker 6: The quiet declaration of faith amid the storm inspires us
- 7:55Speaker 6: all God is good every day.
- 8:00Speaker 4: The President also ended by saying that yes, Iran is
- 8:03Speaker 4: an active participant in cease fire negotiations last week.
- 8:11Speaker 7: Last week you suggested that Europe should take the lead
- 8:13Speaker 7: on reopening the straight up our moves. Has circumstances changed
- 8:16Speaker 7: now that you're issuing a direct forty eight hour I
- 8:19Speaker 7: mean forty eight hour ultimatum. And secondly, what a new
- 8:23Speaker 7: ceasefire food Israel? And would it just be between you right here.
- 8:26Speaker 2: We're talking about But I.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Can tell you that we have a active, willing participant
- 8:33Speaker 1: on the other side.
- 8:35Speaker 5: They would like to be able to make a deal.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I can't say any more than that.
- 8:39Speaker 4: One thing is for sure. The President has set a
- 8:41Speaker 4: deadline and he's not flinching. And now the big question
- 8:45Speaker 4: is what will a ran do next. We'll have it
- 8:47Speaker 4: all for you that I can promise you.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Now. Story number two, there was a.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Part of the White House press conference with Donald Trump.
- 8:54Speaker 4: That should stop every American in your tracks, and frankly,
- 8:58Speaker 4: it should really make you angry. President Donald Trump shocked
- 9:03Speaker 4: the world when revealing that while the world was watching
- 9:06Speaker 4: the rescue of one down American pilot inside Iran, there
- 9:10Speaker 4: was actually a second pilot still on the ground, alive,
- 9:14Speaker 4: hiding and waiting to be brought home.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And here's the key.
- 9:18Speaker 4: The United States had kept that information secret on purpose.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Why because every second mattered, because the pilot's survival depended
- 9:28Speaker 4: on Iran not knowing that he was even there.
- 9:31Speaker 2: But then someone leaked it.
- 9:34Speaker 4: According to President Trump, a media report exposed the existence
- 9:38Speaker 4: of that second pilot while the rescue mission was still unfolding,
- 9:43Speaker 4: and just like that, the entire situation changed. Suddenly Iran new,
- 9:50Speaker 4: Suddenly people on the ground in Iran new.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And according to Trump, there.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Were even reports of rewards being offered to find and
- 9:57Speaker 4: capture that American pilot. Now think about that, an American
- 10:02Speaker 4: literally behind enemy lines trying to survive, and a leak
- 10:07Speaker 4: back home in America may have just told the enemy
- 10:10Speaker 4: exactly what to look for. The President did not hold back.
- 10:15Speaker 4: He called the person responsible for the leak sick and
- 10:19Speaker 4: he made it clear this wasn't just irresponsible. He also
- 10:22Speaker 4: believes that it was dangerous and says that there should
- 10:26Speaker 4: be consequences. Here's the President in his own words.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But these two extraordinary rescues because it was too and
- 10:34Speaker 1: as you probably know, we didn't talk about the first.
- 10:36Speaker 5: One for an hour.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Then somebody leaked something, which will hopefully find that leaker.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We're looking very hard to find that leaker and talk
- 10:45Speaker 1: about there's somebody missing. They basically said that we have
- 10:51Speaker 1: one and there's somebody missing. Well, they didn't know there
- 10:53Speaker 1: was somebody missing until this leaker gave the information. So
- 10:57Speaker 1: whoever it was, we think we'll be able to find
- 10:59Speaker 1: it out because we're going to go to the media
- 11:02Speaker 1: company that released it and we're going to say national security,
- 11:07Speaker 1: give it up or go to jail. And we know
- 11:11Speaker 1: who and you know who we're talking about, because some
- 11:14Speaker 1: things you can do. Because when they did that, all
- 11:16Speaker 1: of a sudden, the entire country of Iran knew that
- 11:21Speaker 1: there was a pilot that was somewhere on their land
- 11:25Speaker 1: that was fighting for his life. And it also made
- 11:29Speaker 1: it much more difficult for the pilots and for the
- 11:33Speaker 1: people going in to search for him. All of a sudden,
- 11:37Speaker 1: they know that there's somebody out there, they see all
- 11:40Speaker 1: these planes coming in. It became a much more difficult
- 11:42Speaker 1: operation because a leaker leaked that we have one, we've
- 11:48Speaker 1: rescued one, but there's another one out there that we're
- 11:52Speaker 1: trying to get. So actually, the country Iran put out
- 11:58Speaker 1: a major notice you all saw it, offering a very
- 12:02Speaker 1: big award for anybody that captures the pilot. So in
- 12:06Speaker 1: addition to a hostle very talented, very good, very evil military,
- 12:12Speaker 1: we had millions of people trying to get an award.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So when you add that to it, but we have
- 12:20Speaker 1: to find that leaker, because that's a sick person. Probably
- 12:23Speaker 1: didn't realize the extent of how bad it was. I
- 12:26Speaker 1: can't imagine that the person did. But we're going to
- 12:29Speaker 1: find out. It's national security and the person that did
- 12:33Speaker 1: the story will go to jail if he doesn't say
- 12:36Speaker 1: and that doesn't last long, and I think everybody would
- 12:39Speaker 1: understand it. They put this mission at great risk, They
- 12:42Speaker 1: put that man at great risk, and they put the
- 12:44Speaker 1: hundreds of people that went in looking for him. Because
- 12:47Speaker 1: everyone now knows that we're going.
- 12:50Speaker 4: In the president saying exactly what needed to be said,
- 12:54Speaker 4: there will be consequences. The administration launching this full investigation
- 12:58Speaker 4: to find out exactly who leaked that information, and he
- 13:01Speaker 4: wentn't even further warning the media outlet involved could be
- 13:04Speaker 4: forced to reveal its source or face legal consequences. Now,
- 13:08Speaker 4: if you just step back and look at the bigger picture,
- 13:10Speaker 4: this wasn't politics, This wasn't spend. This was a real
- 13:15Speaker 4: time military operation with American lives on the line, those
- 13:19Speaker 4: that were trying to rescue the individual and the individual
- 13:22Speaker 4: on the ground behind enemy lines. According to President the
- 13:26Speaker 4: at operation was made more dangerous because someone decided to
- 13:29Speaker 4: lead classified information in the middle of it. And in
- 13:33Speaker 4: the end, both pilots were brought home safely, and that's
- 13:36Speaker 4: the part we should all be grateful for. But the
- 13:38Speaker 4: question now is simple, who leaked it? And why would
- 13:41Speaker 4: anyone take that kind of risk with an American life, Because,
- 13:45Speaker 4: as we learn today, the battlefield isn't just overseas. Sometimes
- 13:50Speaker 4: the danger comes from inside our own country.
