- 0:00Speaker 1: There's a very good chance that mask mandates may be
- 0:04Speaker 1: coming back when you fly. I'm going to tell you
- 0:06Speaker 1: about that coming up in a moment. But before we
- 0:08Speaker 1: get to that important story, there's another one where Republicans
- 0:12Speaker 1: are finally taking some action. My hero today is the
- 0:17Speaker 1: Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. He has now signed a bill
- 0:21Speaker 1: allowing armed school employees, especially in the wake of the
- 0:25Speaker 1: school shooting that happened in Texas. Ohio school districts could
- 0:29Speaker 1: begin arming employees as soon as this fall under this
- 0:34Speaker 1: legislation that's now been approved by the Republican lawmakers and
- 0:38Speaker 1: set to be signed by the governor. Democrats are furious
- 0:42Speaker 1: over this proposal, they say, which is absolutely out of line.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Let's be clear, it's not a mandate, and they say
- 0:51Speaker 1: that this sends the wrong message. Democrats believe a week
- 0:55Speaker 1: after the massacre of nineteen children and two teachers at
- 0:58Speaker 1: an elementary school and you vowed Texas. Now, how does
- 1:01Speaker 1: this send the wrong message? Is the question you have
- 1:03Speaker 1: to ask yourself. And the reason why I say it
- 1:05Speaker 1: that way is because why what possibly could the wrong
- 1:10Speaker 1: message be being sent? In the words of the Democrats
- 1:14Speaker 1: also want to remind you very quick if you've not
- 1:17Speaker 1: hit that subscriber auto download buttons so you get our
- 1:19Speaker 1: podcasts alerts every day, so you know we've got the
- 1:22Speaker 1: new show out there, makes you hit that real quick.
- 1:24Speaker 1: While you're listening, you have a school shooting that happens.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You have an open door, an unlocked door at the
- 1:31Speaker 1: back of the school, and you did not have anyone
- 1:34Speaker 1: there arm to stop the shooter. So the question that
- 1:37Speaker 1: you must ask yourself is what do you do to
- 1:41Speaker 1: fix that problem. One of the ways to fix that
- 1:44Speaker 1: problem is pretty darn obvious. You fix the problem by
- 1:48Speaker 1: making sure there's someone there to respond to an initial
- 1:51Speaker 1: shooting before you even dial nine one one. Why so
- 1:57Speaker 1: you don't have time to sit in a classroom and
- 1:59Speaker 1: bear arcade yourself in there and do exactly what happened
- 2:03Speaker 1: in Texas. This is an initial first response option. Now, again,
- 2:09Speaker 1: it's not mandatory. I've actually said this for quite some time.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I believe that no one should be mandated to carry
- 2:18Speaker 1: a firearm, especially in a school. I don't want anyone
- 2:23Speaker 1: to carry a gun who does not want to carry
- 2:25Speaker 1: a gun and go through training. That's the reason why
- 2:27Speaker 1: the governor has said that this is in his words,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and the laws also states this. It is optional. It's
- 2:35Speaker 1: not mandatory. It is optional, and it's important that it's
- 2:39Speaker 1: stay optional. It's important that we make sure that no
- 2:43Speaker 1: one feels pressured to actually carry a firearm, because that
- 2:47Speaker 1: would be a disaster. Now, before I get into more
- 2:50Speaker 1: of this story, I want to say thank you and
- 2:52Speaker 1: tell you about our good friends at Legacy Precious Medals.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Without them, the show wouldn't be possible. And if you
- 2:58Speaker 1: have not looked at gold and silver is a way
- 3:00Speaker 1: to protect your hard earned dollars against what the happening
- 3:03Speaker 1: on Wall Street with inflation, it's time for you to
- 3:07Speaker 1: call them and get the free Investors Guide. Why because
- 3:09Speaker 1: so many around the world are now using gold and silver,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and historically they have for decades as a protection, a
- 3:16Speaker 1: hedge against inflation, which is exactly what we're dealing with
- 3:19Speaker 1: right now. If you're terrified to look at your retirement account,
- 3:22Speaker 1: your four one case statement because of what's happening on
- 3:25Speaker 1: Wall Street, that's all the more reason why you should
- 3:27Speaker 1: call and get the investors got in gold and silver,
- 3:30Speaker 1: protect your hard earned money and diversify. Call them and
- 3:33Speaker 1: get the free Investors Guide from Legacy Precious metals one
- 3:37Speaker 1: eight six six seven five one twenty two eighteen one
- 3:42Speaker 1: eight six six seven five one twenty two eighteen or
- 3:46Speaker 1: online at Legacy PM investments dot com. But for the
- 3:52Speaker 1: Democrats to immediately come out and say that this is
- 3:54Speaker 1: a terrible idea, that we're actually trying to protect kid kids,
- 3:59Speaker 1: support kids, and make sure that we have people that
- 4:01Speaker 1: are willing to carry a firearm, that are able to
- 4:04Speaker 1: do so, that are willing to go through the training,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and are willing to do so. To say that this
- 4:08Speaker 1: is somehow a horrible thing tells you they don't really
- 4:12Speaker 1: care about protecting your children. What they are obsessed with
- 4:17Speaker 1: is gun control, and gun control is a completely different
- 4:22Speaker 1: issue compared to what I just describe to you protecting
- 4:25Speaker 1: your children. You gotta understand, Democrats have a policy never
- 4:30Speaker 1: let a crisis go to waste. We've been talking about
- 4:32Speaker 1: that for quite some time. And what Democrats understand is
- 4:36Speaker 1: if you have people in schools that are first responders,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that can actually respond, then there's a really big problem
- 4:42Speaker 1: when they're trying to advocate and demand gun control, because
- 4:45Speaker 1: the response will be will hold on a second, look
- 4:47Speaker 1: at what has happened since we've allowed teachers to carry firearms.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Look at what has happened since administrators have been able
- 4:55Speaker 1: to carry firearms. Look at what happens once we hard
- 5:00Speaker 1: and these soft targets. Now, as I played for you
- 5:04Speaker 1: in our podcast yesterday, the President has no interest in
- 5:09Speaker 1: hardening our schools. So apparently a backdoor wide open to
- 5:13Speaker 1: a school and no security guard there to stop a
- 5:15Speaker 1: shooter is completely and totally acceptable to the President of
- 5:20Speaker 1: the United States of America because they said he has
- 5:23Speaker 1: no interest in hardening our schools. If you look at
- 5:27Speaker 1: the governor of Ohio, it's very clear he looks at
- 5:30Speaker 1: it differently. Now, the Republicans measure they say that they
- 5:35Speaker 1: believe could prevent these school shootings is exactly why lawmakers
- 5:39Speaker 1: fast track the legislation. They did this because they believe
- 5:43Speaker 1: it was important that we protect our kids as fast
- 5:45Speaker 1: as we possibly can. Now, under the current law, armed
- 5:49Speaker 1: school workers would need hundreds of hours of training. Did
- 5:53Speaker 1: you hear what I said? Hundreds of hours of training.
- 5:57Speaker 1: The bill will protect children by ensuring and struction of
- 6:00Speaker 1: specific to schools and including significant scenario based training. Governor
- 6:04Speaker 1: de Wine said in his announcement of the support of
- 6:07Speaker 1: this legislation, Wednesday afternoon. The measure is opposed by major
- 6:12Speaker 1: law enforcement groups, by the way, which is how the
- 6:14Speaker 1: left says this is a terrible idea, most of them
- 6:17Speaker 1: controlled by gun control advocates and the States Teachers Union.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Shocker here, which asked de Wind to veto the measure,
- 6:25Speaker 1: says that this is an absolute terrible idea. In fact,
- 6:28Speaker 1: it's supported by a handful of police departments in school districts, which,
- 6:32Speaker 1: of course the media doesn't actually want you to know. Now,
- 6:35Speaker 1: under the latest version of the bill, school employees who
- 6:39Speaker 1: carry guns would need now up to twenty four hours
- 6:42Speaker 1: of initial training, then up to eight hours of requalification
- 6:47Speaker 1: training annually. Democrats are furious because the current bill said
- 6:50Speaker 1: you need hundreds of hours of training, which was not
- 6:53Speaker 1: realistic for many teachers a because they don't have the
- 6:57Speaker 1: time while teaching school. That's one of the problems. And
- 7:01Speaker 1: Democrats support the old legislation because they knew that it
- 7:04Speaker 1: was virtually an impossible way for someone to get the
- 7:08Speaker 1: permit to carry in a gun or in a school
- 7:10Speaker 1: right the requirement they made it almost unobtainable. So what
- 7:14Speaker 1: the governor has done and what the legislature has done,
- 7:17Speaker 1: they said, look, we still believe that people need training
- 7:20Speaker 1: twenty four hours of initial training, eight hours of requalification
- 7:24Speaker 1: training annually. Now, Duane, who was expected to sign the
- 7:27Speaker 1: bill later this month, also announced the state's construction budget
- 7:30Speaker 1: will provide one hundred million for school security upgrades in
- 7:35Speaker 1: the schools and five million for upgrades of the colleges. Now,
- 7:39Speaker 1: what are these upgrades going to actually look like? They're
- 7:42Speaker 1: going to harden school targets. They're going to make sure
- 7:45Speaker 1: that the locking mechanisms on the doors and the structure
- 7:49Speaker 1: around the school allow for it to be much tougher
- 7:54Speaker 1: for someone to break into the schools. They're going to
- 7:57Speaker 1: make sure that the backdoor is not why I'd open
- 8:00Speaker 1: as it was in Texas. And they're going to make
- 8:03Speaker 1: sure that the people that need the training, that want
- 8:05Speaker 1: the training are able to get the training. Now, this
- 8:08Speaker 1: is the other part of this equation that I still
- 8:10Speaker 1: don't understand. You had parents that were showing up and
- 8:13Speaker 1: they were begging the police to go in. We now
- 8:17Speaker 1: found out that we were lied to about what happened.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You valued it. We found out that they did know
- 8:21Speaker 1: that the shooter was in a classroom, not barricaded by himself.
- 8:24Speaker 1: But with students who were alive for forty plus minutes,
- 8:28Speaker 1: we know that they screwed that up in the response.
- 8:31Speaker 1: But regardless of that, the point that is obviously should
- 8:36Speaker 1: be made here is what if there was somebody inside
- 8:40Speaker 1: that had a firearm. Now, there are many teachers that
- 8:44Speaker 1: are former military and former law enforcement. If you look
- 8:48Speaker 1: at the statistics, there's a very good chance that in
- 8:50Speaker 1: almost every school in America there's probably somebody out there
- 8:54Speaker 1: that served their country, whether it be in the military
- 8:59Speaker 1: and or in law enforcement. Those are the first people
- 9:02Speaker 1: that will sign up. There are also a lot of
- 9:04Speaker 1: men in schools that are hunters. Many of them have
- 9:08Speaker 1: been around guns, they're not afraid of guns, and they
- 9:11Speaker 1: are willing to die for their students. In almost every
- 9:15Speaker 1: school shooting, we see the same sad story, a teacher dead,
- 9:19Speaker 1: laying in front of somebody right, laying on top of
- 9:23Speaker 1: a child, or barricade themselves in the door literally as
- 9:28Speaker 1: a human shield. Now, if that person is willing to
- 9:31Speaker 1: die for your child using their body as a human shield,
- 9:35Speaker 1: if they're willing to carry a firearm to school every
- 9:38Speaker 1: day to protect your child, why wouldn't the liberal and
- 9:41Speaker 1: the democratic leadership be in favor of that there is
- 9:45Speaker 1: a significant amount of training involved. Twenty four hours plus
- 9:48Speaker 1: eight hours annually is a pretty good start. I don't
- 9:52Speaker 1: think that any of these teachers or administrators on a
- 9:55Speaker 1: campus are going to take this lightly. I think they're
- 9:58Speaker 1: going to want to make sure that they are proficient.
- 10:01Speaker 1: They're gonna want to make sure that they can protect
- 10:02Speaker 1: themselves but also the children if they decide to do this.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I don't think it's something that you just think, oh,
- 10:08Speaker 1: it's not a big deal, and I'm just going to
- 10:10Speaker 1: randomly carry a gun and not know how to use it. Now.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Democrats also say this is going to cause a lot
- 10:17Speaker 1: of innocent lives to be ruined. They say that because
- 10:23Speaker 1: they want you to be afraid that as teacher is
- 10:24Speaker 1: going to randomly pull out a gun start shooting at
- 10:27Speaker 1: a shooter in a school and hitting a bunch of
- 10:30Speaker 1: kids in the process. There is no indication that that
- 10:33Speaker 1: would actually happen. This governor has done what other governors
- 10:39Speaker 1: need to do, and they've done it quickly, and now
- 10:42Speaker 1: other governors need to seize on two parts of this plan.
- 10:46Speaker 1: It's not just as simple. And I want to be
- 10:48Speaker 1: the first to say this. I don't believe that only
- 10:51Speaker 1: allowing people to carry guns in school is going to
- 10:53Speaker 1: fix this problem. Okay, I don't believe that it will.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I do believe it's a multi prong issue here, Okay,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I believe that. I think there's a very good chance
- 11:06Speaker 1: that you have multiple things that need to be done
- 11:08Speaker 1: to turn this around where we're winning instead of losing
- 11:11Speaker 1: every time someone wants to go into school and wreak havoc.
- 11:15Speaker 1: What DeWine understood is you, yes, you need people that
- 11:20Speaker 1: have firearms, but you also need to harden the target.
- 11:23Speaker 1: And if we don't harden the target, we're just asking
- 11:26Speaker 1: for trouble. It is unconscionable. But then twenty twenty two
- 11:30Speaker 1: that we would have the back door of a school
- 11:32Speaker 1: open and unlocked anywhere in this country. Forget school shootings,
- 11:38Speaker 1: let's just talk about child abductions. Let's talk about maybe
- 11:42Speaker 1: custody battles or just crazy people that want to come
- 11:45Speaker 1: into school and do something to a child. We lock
- 11:50Speaker 1: our doors for a reason when we sleep and when
- 11:52Speaker 1: we're at home, and we lock our doors and have
- 11:54Speaker 1: cameras up and security systems for a reason. Why would
- 11:57Speaker 1: that change with a school? It is clear that we
- 12:00Speaker 1: do not have enough surveillance at schools. I'm talking about video.
- 12:06Speaker 1: It is clear that there are too many blind spots
- 12:09Speaker 1: in the schools. I've been advocating for there to actually
- 12:12Speaker 1: be cameras in every classroom, not only because of security now,
- 12:18Speaker 1: but also so that parents can see what their kids
- 12:20Speaker 1: are being indoctrinated with. It would serve two purposes. And
- 12:23Speaker 1: you can't tell me we can't afford it because it
- 12:25Speaker 1: is dirt cheap now to put up a remote camera
- 12:28Speaker 1: in every room in your house, or at your business,
- 12:31Speaker 1: or in a classroom. This is not a multi billion
- 12:35Speaker 1: dollar idea that I have for one school. Imagine how
- 12:41Speaker 1: different this could have been if this school had cameras
- 12:44Speaker 1: in every classroom and in every hallway. Imagine how quickly
- 12:48Speaker 1: they could have identified which classroom the shooter was in.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Imagine if that classroom was showing you a live feed
- 12:54Speaker 1: of what the shooter was doing in the classroom, so
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know how quickly you need to react and how
- 12:58Speaker 1: to react, and where he was barre kids in the
- 13:00Speaker 1: room when you breached the door. Imagine how helpful that
- 13:03Speaker 1: could have been to law enforcement or to the staff
- 13:05Speaker 1: when they're trying to figure out how to get the
- 13:07Speaker 1: kids out. You know, there's another part of this that
- 13:10Speaker 1: people have got talked about. What if he would have
- 13:11Speaker 1: switched classrooms early on and taken out even more kids.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Can you imagine if you knew that he was in
- 13:18Speaker 1: one classroom isolated, and then you knew that you could
- 13:21Speaker 1: get kids out by having the men in the classroom
- 13:24Speaker 1: with guns protecting that hallway as you're evacuating the children,
- 13:28Speaker 1: they're stuck in those classrooms at the mercy of a
- 13:30Speaker 1: mass shooter. What Governor DeWine has decided to do here
- 13:35Speaker 1: is say we're not saying guns only fix this problem.
- 13:38Speaker 1: One hundred million dollars for school security upgrades. That doesn't
- 13:42Speaker 1: mean that's going to law enforcement either. That's two actual
- 13:45Speaker 1: upgrades in the school. We've got to get our heads
- 13:49Speaker 1: out of our rearend and realize that this is a
- 13:51Speaker 1: multi prong issue that is going to have many solutions,
- 13:56Speaker 1: and none of them are going to be perfect. Arming
- 13:59Speaker 1: schools is not going to make it perfectly safe for
- 14:02Speaker 1: your kid. Having cameras up is not going to make
- 14:05Speaker 1: it perfectly safe for your kid. Locking all the doors
- 14:08Speaker 1: is not going to make it perfectly safe for your kids.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But If the church that I go to can do
- 14:16Speaker 1: what I'm talking about right now on Sundays with volunteers,
- 14:20Speaker 1: why can't we do it at a school. I'll give
- 14:23Speaker 1: you example. Sunday, I dropped my three kids off in
- 14:27Speaker 1: Sunday school and we walked over to the sanctuary. And
- 14:30Speaker 1: this Immemorial Day weekend, it's not the biggest day of
- 14:33Speaker 1: attendance by any means. It was a little light right.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Many people were at the lake and in spending time
- 14:38Speaker 1: with their family, or traveling for the weekend, or getting
- 14:41Speaker 1: out of town with schools out. It was a light
- 14:44Speaker 1: day of attendance. But we were a few minutes late
- 14:48Speaker 1: because my twins were freaking out. We were dropping them
- 14:51Speaker 1: off and had to hold them for a minute, settle
- 14:53Speaker 1: them down, you know how it goes. And we walked
- 14:57Speaker 1: over to the sanctuary and we walk then to the
- 15:00Speaker 1: main area, the fourier of the sanctuary, and the doors
- 15:04Speaker 1: were locked. We went to the next doors they're locked,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and then one of the deacons or elders walked up
- 15:10Speaker 1: and said, hey, you have to go to the end
- 15:13Speaker 1: since the services started and the indoors are the only
- 15:16Speaker 1: ones on the left and right side that will be unlocked.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Now the keyword there was unlocked. We walked down there
- 15:23Speaker 1: and there was and I'm assuming I didn't ask, but
- 15:26Speaker 1: a member of the security staff, right, and this is
- 15:30Speaker 1: a deacon or elder or someone that volunteers. We're not
- 15:36Speaker 1: talking about paid law enforcement, who clearly sized me and
- 15:41Speaker 1: my wife up, making sure that we were, in their
- 15:44Speaker 1: best perceptive perception, a friendly. He then took a key
- 15:49Speaker 1: out of his pocket, put it in the door, and
- 15:51Speaker 1: unlocked the door to let us into the sanctuary. Now
- 15:55Speaker 1: why did he do this. It's because they were trying
- 15:57Speaker 1: to protect us so that we could go to church
- 15:59Speaker 1: and not have to worry about someone breaking in one
- 16:01Speaker 1: of these doors easily. They are trying to do what
- 16:05Speaker 1: they could through doors and locks to protect us and
- 16:09Speaker 1: our family while we attended church in the wake of
- 16:12Speaker 1: this shooting. I absolutely love that the church did this.
- 16:17Speaker 1: It did not make me feel like I was, by
- 16:19Speaker 1: the way at a jail, which is what many liberals
- 16:22Speaker 1: have said, we don't want our schools to feel like
- 16:23Speaker 1: their prisons. This was a prison at all. In fact,
- 16:28Speaker 1: I felt incredibly safe and thankful that they were doing this.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Now they can do this at my church and have
- 16:35Speaker 1: a group of volunteers throughout the sanctuary carrying a firearm,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and then have law enforcement on site backing them up,
- 16:47Speaker 1: and then on top of that have doors that are
- 16:50Speaker 1: locked and security checkpoints and essence, then why the hell
- 16:57Speaker 1: are we not doing this with our kids. It's because
- 17:03Speaker 1: Democrats are saying no, they need to use these tragedies
- 17:09Speaker 1: to their advantage. They need to make sure that these
- 17:14Speaker 1: tragedies translate into ultimate gun control. And it's no longer
- 17:21Speaker 1: ar fifteens. It's now nine millimeters. As you heard the
- 17:24Speaker 1: President talk about this, it's now putting out more lies.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Lies that they say in the things that they say,
- 17:30Speaker 1: for example of oh, a nine millimeter bullet is designed
- 17:34Speaker 1: to blow your lungs out of your body. That's a lie.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Doesn't matter because the narrative is there and that's all
- 17:41Speaker 1: their care about. We have an opportunity to harden our schools.
- 17:48Speaker 1: We have the money to afford to do it. We
- 17:50Speaker 1: should do it. My kids are in private schools, those
- 17:57Speaker 1: doors are locked. As a parent, I can't get in
- 18:00Speaker 1: in the middle of the day without being buzzed in
- 18:02Speaker 1: and there's a camera looking at my face. Why can't
- 18:07Speaker 1: we do that at the public schools. When I go
- 18:10Speaker 1: to pick my kids up from school, there's multiple officers
- 18:14Speaker 1: who are there protecting my children. It does not make
- 18:19Speaker 1: it feel like they're in a prison. In fact, my
- 18:23Speaker 1: kids love the officers, know their names and high five
- 18:27Speaker 1: or give them knuckles when they get to school and
- 18:30Speaker 1: when they leave school. It does not feel like a prison,
- 18:35Speaker 1: as Democrats keep saying that talking point. Every time we
- 18:40Speaker 1: talk about protecting and defending our schools. Democrats constantly say
- 18:47Speaker 1: something has to change, but they don't really want anything
- 18:50Speaker 1: to change at the schools. The only thing they want
- 18:53Speaker 1: to change is the gun laws. In fact, Democrats just
- 18:55Speaker 1: introduce gun legislation, new gun laws that would have had
- 19:00Speaker 1: no bearing on the shooting in Texas. Five different laws
- 19:04Speaker 1: that they are now wanting and demanding. If all of
- 19:08Speaker 1: them would have been enacted, none of them would have
- 19:12Speaker 1: had any bearing on the shooting in Texas. Democrats, of course,
- 19:20Speaker 1: moving forward no matter what and voting on what they
- 19:24Speaker 1: say will save live six gun control measures that would
- 19:28Speaker 1: not have prevented the Uvaldey attack. I'll give you the
- 19:31Speaker 1: details on that. Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee held
- 19:36Speaker 1: a vote on a gun control package which includes six
- 19:40Speaker 1: gun control measures that would not have prevented the Uvaldey attack.
- 19:44Speaker 1: That is what we know for a fact. The package,
- 19:47Speaker 1: of course, though they title it and wrap it in
- 19:49Speaker 1: the dead Kids right, they titled it Protecting Our Kids Act,
- 19:53Speaker 1: because who could vote against Protecting Our Kids Act? That's
- 19:56Speaker 1: obviously a political move. Now, the PA contains eight gun controls.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Six of those gun controls would not have prevented the
- 20:05Speaker 1: uvalde attack at all. Those six include background checks for
- 20:09Speaker 1: ghost guns would have had no bearing on the shooting
- 20:11Speaker 1: in Texas, gun storage requirements for homes with miners presence
- 20:16Speaker 1: that would have had no impact on this shooting, additional
- 20:20Speaker 1: penalties for gun trafficking and straw purchases which would have
- 20:23Speaker 1: had no impact at all on what happened in Texas,
- 20:28Speaker 1: a bump stock band which we weirdly enough already have,
- 20:31Speaker 1: which had no bearing on the attack in Texas, and
- 20:35Speaker 1: a requirement that existing bump stocks be registered under the
- 20:39Speaker 1: National Firearms Act, which would have had no bearing on
- 20:44Speaker 1: this shooting in Texas. The measure, by the way, also
- 20:47Speaker 1: changes the definition of ghost guns so that a background
- 20:50Speaker 1: check on such guns would be required going forward, which
- 20:54Speaker 1: would have had no bearing on the shooting in Texas.
- 20:58Speaker 1: The quote Protect Our Kids Act contains a ban on
- 21:02Speaker 1: bump stocks, although a bump stock ban was put in
- 21:04Speaker 1: place by the Department of Justice in twenty nineteen. So
- 21:07Speaker 1: apparently they don't even know that. If you want to
- 21:11Speaker 1: know why don't trust liberals with guns, this is why
- 21:13Speaker 1: they're they're putting in a new bill all of these
- 21:16Speaker 1: things that would not have changed anything that happened in Texas.
- 21:19Speaker 1: None of these laws, if an actor, would have changed
- 21:21Speaker 1: anything with the outcome of what happened in Texas, and
- 21:24Speaker 1: none of them would have even applied to anything that
- 21:26Speaker 1: dealt with this shooter in Texas. And then they want
- 21:29Speaker 1: to ban bump stocks even though they've already been placed
- 21:32Speaker 1: in a band by the Department of Justice in twenty nineteen.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Apparently they don't even know that. The language. By the way,
- 21:39Speaker 1: the bump stock ban that was actually announced by the
- 21:42Speaker 1: Department of Justice in December of twenty eighteen is actually
- 21:46Speaker 1: tougher than the legislation there he put in the Protecting
- 21:49Speaker 1: Our Kids Act, So you could actually make the accusation
- 21:52Speaker 1: that they're softening the bump stock ban by the Department
- 21:57Speaker 1: of Justice in twenty nineteen. Now it's not just these
- 22:03Speaker 1: Democrats that are stupid better a Rourke, he's come out
- 22:09Speaker 1: saying aur owners should not be able to keep those guns.
- 22:11Speaker 1: He believes now that we shall have full confiscation. Semi
- 22:16Speaker 1: automatic rifles are now the target of New York Governor
- 22:21Speaker 1: Kathy Hotchel, and she's been joined with state Assembly leaders
- 22:25Speaker 1: to announce ten new gun control bills, including a new
- 22:28Speaker 1: minimum age and licensing requirements for all purchases of all
- 22:33Speaker 1: semi automatic weapons. So it's not just what they referred
- 22:36Speaker 1: to as assault weapons anymore, which goes back to what
- 22:39Speaker 1: I said before. This is not about banning AAR fifteen.
- 22:42Speaker 1: This is about taking away your your your total right
- 22:45Speaker 1: to bear arms. Democrats, of course, are spending this as
- 22:50Speaker 1: the US Senate saying there, well, we're just moving with
- 22:52Speaker 1: a modest deal on gun control. What's even more embarrassing
- 22:57Speaker 1: than that, a congress who's actually from the state of Texas,
- 23:02Speaker 1: Sheila Jackson Lee, actually went on TV, of course, making
- 23:07Speaker 1: sure she got on TV to talk about all this,
- 23:10Speaker 1: and said there was there was systemic increase of carnage
- 23:14Speaker 1: in this country using automatic weapons after the assault weapons
- 23:19Speaker 1: ban expired. She doesn't even know that the guns that
- 23:23Speaker 1: are being used aren't automatic weapons. They're semi automatic weapons.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And she wants me to trust her with guns. Really, now,
- 23:35Speaker 1: Sheila Jackson Lee does not get called out when she
- 23:39Speaker 1: does this interview on MSNBC lying to the American people
- 23:43Speaker 1: saying that there's been a systemic increase of carnage across
- 23:47Speaker 1: America using automatic weapons after the assault weapons ban expired.
- 23:52Speaker 1: She's so stupid that she doesn't realize that you can't
- 23:56Speaker 1: go out and just buy a machine gun. She's so
- 23:59Speaker 1: dumb that she doesn't realize that the assault weapons ban
- 24:02Speaker 1: that expired, that was put into place by Bill Clinton,
- 24:05Speaker 1: had nothing to do with machine guns. But let's let
- 24:08Speaker 1: her go on TV and lie anyway. Joining us now
- 24:11Speaker 1: is Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas. She's also a
- 24:14Speaker 1: member of the House Judiciary Committee and one of the
- 24:16Speaker 1: lead co sponsors on that Package that Protect Kids Act,
- 24:19Speaker 1: that package of legislation, as I mentioned, that was introduced today.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Congresswoman Lee, thank you so much for joining us tonight.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Let me just get your reaction to the reporting that
- 24:29Speaker 1: Democratic leadership cannot find the votes to pass an assault
- 24:33Speaker 1: rifle ban. Is that correct? Can you set the record
- 24:35Speaker 1: straight for us on that well, first of all, thank
- 24:39Speaker 1: you for having me, and let me just say that
- 24:43Speaker 1: we've got to do everything we can to stop the
- 24:45Speaker 1: war on our children, the killing of our children, the
- 24:47Speaker 1: slaughter of our children, the carnage of our children. It's
- 24:51Speaker 1: because of democrats. All right, hold on, I want to
- 24:53Speaker 1: take it. If what she's saying is true, that we
- 24:56Speaker 1: need to do everything we can to stop the killing,
- 24:59Speaker 1: the carnage, and all the things that she just mentioned,
- 25:01Speaker 1: then why would you not advocate for hardening the security
- 25:04Speaker 1: at our school. It's the same way that the governor
- 25:06Speaker 1: in Ohio is doing it right now. Why would you
- 25:09Speaker 1: not say it is unconsortable that any school in America
- 25:12Speaker 1: today has a backdoor that's wide open. Why wouldn't you
- 25:17Speaker 1: come out and say that. Why wouldn't you say the
- 25:21Speaker 1: fact that this shooter was able to walk into the
- 25:23Speaker 1: school and my state is horrific and that we have
- 25:25Speaker 1: to fix immediately. That has nothing to do, by the way,
- 25:28Speaker 1: with guns. How is it that they can't even get
- 25:32Speaker 1: on the same page with us about protecting kids. The
- 25:37Speaker 1: only answer is back to what I said. They don't
- 25:40Speaker 1: care about saving kids. They care about about taking away
- 25:44Speaker 1: every firearm that you have listen to the second part
- 25:49Speaker 1: of what she says. That we are even where we
- 25:52Speaker 1: are today, which is this massive package, this omnibus bill
- 25:56Speaker 1: that we should be addressing this coming week. The question
- 26:01Speaker 1: of the assault weapons ban is not off the table it. Frankly,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I believe that we are moving toward having the boats
- 26:09Speaker 1: that we need. I have committed over the years, having
- 26:13Speaker 1: introduced bills dealing with the ban on assault weapons post
- 26:16Speaker 1: two thousand and four, as you well, Norman, that's when
- 26:19Speaker 1: it ended. And we saw the seismic increase of contage
- 26:24Speaker 1: across America using automatic weapons, and in the instance of Buffalo,
- 26:28Speaker 1: and the instance of Uvalde, having gone there on Sunday
- 26:33Speaker 1: meeting with and and and just listening to the sheer
- 26:40Speaker 1: desperation of families and children. That was an AR fifteen
- 26:46Speaker 1: as well. So I believe that we are on the
- 26:49Speaker 1: right track. Democrats will get it done, and we look
- 26:52Speaker 1: for our friends in the United States Senate to have
- 26:56Speaker 1: a sense of humanity and decency and courage to our
- 27:00Speaker 1: legislation forward. So are you hearing? So this is again
- 27:06Speaker 1: a woman that doesn't know the difference between the two guns.
- 27:10Speaker 1: She doesn't know, as she said, I'll break it down.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I've committed over the years, having introduced bills dealing with
- 27:15Speaker 1: a band of assault weapons post two thousand and four.
- 27:18Speaker 1: As you well know that when it ended and we
- 27:22Speaker 1: saw the systemic increase of carnage across America using automatic weapons,
- 27:26Speaker 1: that's just a lie. And the instance of Buffalo, and
- 27:30Speaker 1: the instance of your valley having gone there on Sunday
- 27:32Speaker 1: meeting with and just listening to this year desperation of
- 27:34Speaker 1: families and children, that was an AR fifteen as well, well,
- 27:39Speaker 1: I have to ask the question, does she know that
- 27:42Speaker 1: an AAR fifteen is not a machine gun? Or is
- 27:48Speaker 1: she lying to you and just doesn't care. What brings
- 27:51Speaker 1: me back to the New York governor. This is not
- 27:53Speaker 1: about saving kids' lives. This is about taking away your rights.
- 27:57Speaker 1: The New York governor, now the new governor, has join
- 28:00Speaker 1: the state Assembly leaders to announce these new gun control bills,
- 28:04Speaker 1: including a new minimum age and licensing requirements for the
- 28:07Speaker 1: purchase of a semi automatic rifle. Now, New York, as
- 28:11Speaker 1: you know, already has some of the toughest gun laws
- 28:14Speaker 1: in the entire country. And apparently they think more gun
- 28:18Speaker 1: laws are going to save people's lives. The same people
- 28:20Speaker 1: that advocated for defunding the police. Where now you see
- 28:24Speaker 1: carnage and out of out of control violent crime on
- 28:27Speaker 1: the subway systems and all over the state. What have
- 28:31Speaker 1: they said, not about protecting people? No, No, we're going
- 28:33Speaker 1: to strengthen gun laws, give law enforcement toils to prevent crime,
- 28:36Speaker 1: the same law enforcement that they just defunded, and quote
- 28:39Speaker 1: stop the spread of dangerous weapons. The bill would require
- 28:43Speaker 1: information sharing between state, local, and federal agencies when guns
- 28:46Speaker 1: are used in crimes, make threatening mass harm a crime,
- 28:50Speaker 1: require micro stamping of new guns, Increase accountability for social
- 28:57Speaker 1: media platforms, eliminate and fathering of large capacity magazines, Prohibit
- 29:03Speaker 1: the purchase of body armor for anyone who's unengaged in
- 29:06Speaker 1: an eligible profession, Strengthen the red flag law by expanding
- 29:10Speaker 1: the list of people who can file for extreme risk
- 29:14Speaker 1: protection orders and other measures, and require that individual obtain
- 29:19Speaker 1: a license by raising the age to twenty one to
- 29:22Speaker 1: purchase any semi automatic rifles. So you can't hunt now
- 29:26Speaker 1: with a shotgun, because if it's a semi automatic, you
- 29:28Speaker 1: can't buy it until you're twenty one, is what they're saying.
- 29:32Speaker 1: And close the any other weapon loophole. Whatever the hell
- 29:35Speaker 1: that means. I don't think they know what it means.
- 29:40Speaker 1: None of them have talked about hardening the schools. None
- 29:42Speaker 1: of them have talked about protecting our kids in our schools.
- 29:46Speaker 1: None of them have talked about the back door that
- 29:48Speaker 1: was left unlocked. How hard is it to compromise on that?
- 29:52Speaker 1: It isn't if you actually care about the kids, but
- 29:54Speaker 1: if you don't care about the kids, and you only
- 29:56Speaker 1: care about taking away and controlling a society, which is
- 30:00Speaker 1: what Democrats clearly are in favor of, especially especially now
- 30:05Speaker 1: that we know what has happened to the Democratic Party
- 30:11Speaker 1: post okay, post lockdowns, they're trying to bring back the
- 30:18Speaker 1: masks for goodness sakes. I mentioned that earlier these people
- 30:22Speaker 1: are totally obsessed with power. Now and these two subjects
- 30:27Speaker 1: now really come together as one subject in my mind.
- 30:33Speaker 1: You look at doctor Burke this week, Doctor Burke actually
- 30:35Speaker 1: came out and doctor Burke said that it doesn't They
- 30:40Speaker 1: don't have the time to explain the science behind matt
- 30:43Speaker 1: masking and their mandates. They just need it to happen.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Fauci says, the DJ challenge a mask ruling more about
- 30:51Speaker 1: authority and less about the mandate. That's what he's now
- 30:54Speaker 1: said about this. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious
- 30:58Speaker 1: Diseases director doctor that He Fauci responded to criticism of
- 31:02Speaker 1: the Justice Department's challenged to afford a ruling striking down
- 31:05Speaker 1: the Biden administration's transit mass mandate, as well as Tesla
- 31:10Speaker 1: elon Must requiring employees to return to the office. In
- 31:14Speaker 1: an interview Wednesday on Your World, Fauci said it was
- 31:17Speaker 1: it would be inappropriate for him to comment on what
- 31:20Speaker 1: an employer does with their employees in reference to elon
- 31:24Speaker 1: Must declaring this week that employees who fail to return
- 31:27Speaker 1: to the office will be considered resigned. What did he say. Quote, Obviously,
- 31:33Speaker 1: different institutions, different enterprises have different approaches towards people who
- 31:37Speaker 1: are using their work hours from home as opposed to
- 31:40Speaker 1: being in person in the office, he said, adding the
- 31:42Speaker 1: the and I AID headquarters employees sometimes work from home. Quote.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I think it's going to be up to each individual
- 31:47Speaker 1: employer to decide what policy they're going to make for
- 31:50Speaker 1: their employees. But in terms of the April ruling voiding
- 31:55Speaker 1: the Biden mass mandate, Fauci said he understands why the
- 31:59Speaker 1: Justice Partment appealed the rulings, saying the idea of such
- 32:03Speaker 1: mandates at this point is less about a fixing masks
- 32:08Speaker 1: than it is to determine who or what has the
- 32:11Speaker 1: legal authority to make decisions moving forward. One of the
- 32:15Speaker 1: issues I have articulate in the past and I will
- 32:17Speaker 1: in the future, is it's less about mandates on the
- 32:20Speaker 1: plane than it is about who has the right and
- 32:23Speaker 1: the authority and the capability of making public health decisions.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And I believe that the Department of Justice is operating
- 32:30Speaker 1: on the principle that decisions that are public health decisions
- 32:33Speaker 1: belong with the public health agencies, in this case DCDC.
- 32:38Speaker 1: The CDC recommends wearing a face mask during her travel Fouch,
- 32:42Speaker 1: he said, adding his own personal preference, citing age and
- 32:45Speaker 1: other factor factors makes wearing a mask the better option.
- 32:50Speaker 1: He's not the only one that believes that people that
- 32:52Speaker 1: are unelected by anyone should have the power to do this.
- 32:56Speaker 1: You had Burke who went on TV as well this week,
- 32:59Speaker 1: and what it Burke's say about mass She said that
- 33:02Speaker 1: she believes that they don't have time to teach you
- 33:05Speaker 1: about the science, so we just need to be able
- 33:08Speaker 1: to do what we need to do. When we need
- 33:09Speaker 1: to do it. Sometimes we use mandates because we don't
- 33:14Speaker 1: want to take the time to explain the science and
- 33:16Speaker 1: the data. And okay, so doctor Deborah Burke's a woman
- 33:21Speaker 1: who's in charge of taking away your rights with doctor Fauci,
- 33:27Speaker 1: want you to understand that, Well, we don't always have time.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Mandates are used because we don't want to take the time. No,
- 33:35Speaker 1: let me rephrase it. It's not they don't have the time.
- 33:37Speaker 1: They just don't want to take the time to explain
- 33:39Speaker 1: the science. And I'm not putting words in her mouth.
- 33:42Speaker 1: That's what she just said. We don't want to take
- 33:44Speaker 1: the time used in certain situations. And I think sometimes
- 33:48Speaker 1: we use mandates because we don't want to take the
- 33:50Speaker 1: time to explain the science and the data. So we
- 33:54Speaker 1: don't we as scientists are so brilliant and so smart,
- 33:58Speaker 1: elected by no one, that we don't want to take
- 34:02Speaker 1: the time to explain to you the science or the data.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And since we don't want to do that, you should
- 34:16Speaker 1: just shut up and listen to us. You should just
- 34:20Speaker 1: shut up and do what we tell you to do
- 34:24Speaker 1: indefinitely right like this is this is this is about
- 34:28Speaker 1: indefinitely doing it right forever listen to us, obey us.
- 34:36Speaker 1: We don't want to take the time, not that we
- 34:38Speaker 1: don't even have the time. We don't want to take
- 34:40Speaker 1: the time to explain to you the science of the data.
- 34:43Speaker 1: You should just wear the mask. If I tell you
- 34:45Speaker 1: to wear the mask. We are elected by no one,
- 34:51Speaker 1: but we should have ultimate power over your life and
- 34:54Speaker 1: how you do things. Sounds an awful lot like their
- 34:58Speaker 1: same strategy that they're having right now when it comes
- 35:01Speaker 1: to gun control. We don't want to listen to you.
- 35:04Speaker 1: We don't want to talk about harding our schools. The
- 35:06Speaker 1: White House has said it, it's not part of our agenda.
- 35:09Speaker 1: We don't want to lock the back door. We want
- 35:12Speaker 1: to use the tragedy to push an agenda, a political agenda,
- 35:19Speaker 1: and that is a takeaway your Second Amendment rights. We
- 35:24Speaker 1: will call AAR fifteens, which are semi automatic machine guns.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Will call them automatic weapons because we believe that enough
- 35:31Speaker 1: of you are dumb enough in this country to actually
- 35:33Speaker 1: believe what we're telling you. We're going to tell you
- 35:36Speaker 1: that a nine millimeter will blow the lungs out of
- 35:40Speaker 1: your body, even though that's not what actually happens, and
- 35:44Speaker 1: we're going to tell you that because if we tell
- 35:47Speaker 1: you that enough, you'll believe it, and you will believe
- 35:51Speaker 1: that nine millimeter handguns should be banned for life, that
- 35:55Speaker 1: they're the worst things in the world. That's why we
- 35:59Speaker 1: do it. We can't win this conversation or this debate
- 36:05Speaker 1: in an intellectually honest way. We have to lie to you,
- 36:10Speaker 1: and that's what we will do. Make sure you share
