- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know, y'all a sun giving them like the million
- 0:16Speaker 1: buck things in the cubbing Good Steve to the mother,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join joining. You gotta use that turn you go,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn you haven't
- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn them out? Then turn the water the
- 1:47Speaker 1: water go. Come come on your baby now. Uh huh,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I sure will come on. Everybody, y'all listen to the voice.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Come on, dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Uh how the radio show? Yep, yep? Sometimes saw all
- 2:17Speaker 1: I can say yelp, Man, how far I've come is
- 2:21Speaker 1: really unbelievable. But you know I finally figured it out. Man.
- 2:25Speaker 1: God allowed me to have the life I've had so
- 2:32Speaker 1: that I can become experienced at so many different things.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And then this experience when I'm talking and sharing with people,
- 2:41Speaker 1: I will be able to relate to a lot of
- 2:43Speaker 1: different circumstances. Not exact, but just the circumstances. You know.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You know, if a person comes to men, they say, man,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I've been down and out. Okay, Well I know what
- 2:52Speaker 1: that is. Man. I didn't I didn't have any direction Okay,
- 2:56Speaker 1: got that been there man. At one point in time, Man,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I just kept piling mistake on top of mistakes. Okay,
- 3:06Speaker 1: So you know, I think what I'm trying to say
- 3:09Speaker 1: to everybody is when you're going through life and life
- 3:13Speaker 1: is dealing the cards that it deals, I want you
- 3:17Speaker 1: to understand that life deals everybody these cards. The disappointment card,
- 3:23Speaker 1: the setback card, the failure card, the mishap card, the
- 3:30Speaker 1: unexpected misery card. Everybody gonna get, the grief card, everybody
- 3:36Speaker 1: gonna get, the rash of bad decision card, everybody gonna
- 3:40Speaker 1: get them. Understand that going in that everybody is gonna
- 3:47Speaker 1: get these cards. It's how you play them, though, you know,
- 3:54Speaker 1: from time to time, one more time, it's how you
- 3:57Speaker 1: play them, you know. From time to time when I'm
- 4:00Speaker 1: watching TV, I love to watch the World Series of Poker.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I like watching poker tournaments on TV because it's it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: really weird, what's happened to a sport? To a poker
- 4:13Speaker 1: they're actually trying to call it a sport, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: And as the everyday guy that doesn't have to be
- 4:19Speaker 1: athletically inclined to anything, who has a shot of winning
- 4:23Speaker 1: a title if they play their cards right. The best
- 4:28Speaker 1: poker players in the world don't have the best hands,
- 4:33Speaker 1: They just make the best plays. I've seen guys win
- 4:38Speaker 1: a hand with nine two in their hand as nothing
- 4:42Speaker 1: and win their hand because they knew the bluff, they
- 4:45Speaker 1: knew the odds, they calculated risks, they made the stakes
- 4:51Speaker 1: higher than the other person was willing to pay. They
- 4:54Speaker 1: gave off the illusion that they had something with an actuality.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They had nothing. So what I what I enjoy about
- 5:03Speaker 1: poker and watching it is that these people, these people here,
- 5:09Speaker 1: played the hand they dealt and it ain't always a
- 5:12Speaker 1: good hand. But it ain't whether your hand is good.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And it ain't whether you're gonna get dealt bad cards
- 5:18Speaker 1: or not. Because you're gonna get dealt some bad cards.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Everybody ain't finna get two bullets in their hand. You
- 5:22Speaker 1: ain't gonna get two aces when you get dealt. Uh.
- 5:25Speaker 1: You know, when you play a draw poker, some of
- 5:28Speaker 1: your cards gonna be nothing. But you got to turn
- 5:30Speaker 1: that nothing into something. So when you get dealt these
- 5:33Speaker 1: cards in life, it ain't the fact that you're getting
- 5:36Speaker 1: keep getting them dealt. I was talking with a young
- 5:38Speaker 1: person yesterday and we were talking and we keep having
- 5:42Speaker 1: the same conversation over and over and over, and they
- 5:45Speaker 1: could not understand why they were not moving forward. But
- 5:48Speaker 1: I said, you don't understand. Every time we talk, we
- 5:51Speaker 1: have the exact same conversation. It is simply because you
- 5:56Speaker 1: keep getting your cards and you playing them the same way. See.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Until you make a conscientious different, the conscious decision to
- 6:05Speaker 1: do something different, the results will continue to be the same.
- 6:11Speaker 1: See here's the way this works. When you're dealt to
- 6:16Speaker 1: disappointments in life, it's how you handle the disappointments that
- 6:21Speaker 1: determine the outcome and who you are. Because everybody gonna
- 6:25Speaker 1: be disappointment, Everybody gonna lose a love one, Everybody gonna
- 6:28Speaker 1: make a bad decision, Everybody gonna end wake up one
- 6:31Speaker 1: morning they have done something they regretted. Everybody gonna get
- 6:35Speaker 1: caught at the wrong time. Every everybody gonna make a mistake.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It ain't just you. That is how you play your
- 6:42Speaker 1: cards when they get dealt to you, that determine who
- 6:45Speaker 1: you are. Na, how do I play my cards better?
- 6:48Speaker 1: First of all, it's a mindset. Quit looking at everything
- 6:52Speaker 1: as just the end when it happens to you, Oh lord,
- 6:55Speaker 1: woe is me? Nah, everybody got your comstances somewhere. It
- 7:02Speaker 1: ain't old. Woe is me? It's hold on, man, Okay,
- 7:05Speaker 1: let me play this out to see how God then
- 7:07Speaker 1: connected this to something else. See, as soon as a
- 7:10Speaker 1: person have a setback, what's the first thing A lot
- 7:12Speaker 1: of people do, They go straight negative. I can't see
- 7:14Speaker 1: him to get a break. I can't see him move forward.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Hold on, man, do you realize this could be connected
- 7:20Speaker 1: to something? See you got to understand, man, that this
- 7:24Speaker 1: thing is all connected. That you're not having these mishaps
- 7:27Speaker 1: and these spills and accidents and falls for no reason.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's so you can become experienced at them. So when
- 7:33Speaker 1: he takes you to the next level, when it happens again,
- 7:36Speaker 1: you have no how and how to handle it. If
- 7:38Speaker 1: you keep throwing yourself off the cliff every time something happened,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you're just gonna be a cliff diver. Man, Stop tripping
- 7:46Speaker 1: yourself out. I was talking to this young person. I
- 7:49Speaker 1: kept saying, and you know what they try to tell me.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I'm trying to stay positive. But the people around here
- 7:55Speaker 1: they're just killing that. Oh. I see. So when you
- 7:59Speaker 1: learn something and you know something, you don't take ownership
- 8:03Speaker 1: of it. You allow other people to come into what
- 8:06Speaker 1: you know and believe and shake it loose from you.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I don't care who you are. You're not doing me
- 8:11Speaker 1: like that. Here's a deal. I have a gift that
- 8:14Speaker 1: was given to me from God. That is the gift
- 8:16Speaker 1: of comedy. That's what I've done. I've made the bulk
- 8:19Speaker 1: of my living on that skill set. Right there. That
- 8:23Speaker 1: are comedians who are supposedly friends of mine, who I've
- 8:26Speaker 1: worked with, who get around in huddles with one another
- 8:29Speaker 1: and they say, man, Steve really ain't funny. I don't
- 8:32Speaker 1: see what they'd be laughing at. He ain't funny to me.
- 8:35Speaker 1: He wasn't the funniest king to me. Excuse me, you're
- 8:39Speaker 1: irrelevant in this conversation because it regardless as to how
- 8:43Speaker 1: you feel about me. That are people think that I'm
- 8:45Speaker 1: knocked down kill over funny. But more importantly, I own
- 8:50Speaker 1: the gift that God gave to me. I take ownership
- 8:53Speaker 1: of his blessing. Because you don't think it's so, You
- 8:56Speaker 1: ain't taking that from me. Stop letting people steal, yo, Joe.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Stop letting people take what you're supposed to know. Look,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I'm a I'm a I'm a I'm a kind person
- 9:07Speaker 1: at heart. Man. You ain't nothing now you said if
- 9:10Speaker 1: it going, Man, I guess I ain't what you're tripping for.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You are a kind person, own that take ownership of it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Stop letting things God has given you be taken away
- 9:23Speaker 1: from others. The devil is a cold player, and he
- 9:25Speaker 1: got cold players working for him, just shaking, just taking
- 9:28Speaker 1: stuff from you. You know, I'm a hard worker. I
- 9:31Speaker 1: really am intelligent. You stupid man. I thought I was
- 9:35Speaker 1: a hard worker. Man. They came in here and said
- 9:37Speaker 1: I was stupid. Man, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
- 9:40Speaker 1: What excuse me? You're a very bright person. Hey, y'all
- 9:45Speaker 1: take ownership. When God gives you something, blesses you would
- 9:48Speaker 1: have gift a talent, a skill set, a mindset, own it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Don't let people come in here and take it from you. Man, Okay,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I probably shouldn't do with that. You're listening morning, ladies
- 10:02Speaker 1: and gentlemen. This is the Steve Harvey Morning Show, and
- 10:05Speaker 1: this is how we're doing it today. I know you
- 10:09Speaker 1: want to leave me, but I refuse to let you go.
- 10:15Speaker 1: If I have to beg and please for your sympathy,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I don't mind because you mean that much to me.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Ain't too proud to beg yeo. Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 10:30Speaker 1: started it just like that every morning this week, well
- 10:34Speaker 1: this end of the week. Yeah, you lost track of
- 10:37Speaker 1: your days. Lost track. Show felt like Tuesday Friday. Colin Farrell,
- 10:47Speaker 1: good Friday morning to Steve Harvey. What's up? Crewe that
- 10:53Speaker 1: that damn Junior morning? Uncle, morning everybody? We're in the
- 10:57Speaker 1: being Yeah, Anthony Brown, what up? Hey man? Look kill Jay?
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yesterday we tried something new. I had Junior do all
- 11:11Speaker 1: the ends and outs on the show, the whole show show. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 1: he killed it, and Tommy criticized, you know whatever you may, yes,
- 11:25Speaker 1: mostly out of hate. No, but he actually did pretty
- 11:30Speaker 1: good yesterday. So I was thinking about today Juniors, that
- 11:34Speaker 1: I want to try it again. YEA. Now quick question,
- 11:40Speaker 1: do I critique? Yes, yes, yes, And you have to
- 11:45Speaker 1: in order for him to grow, you have to nitpick anything. Yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you got to dig off in there. Jay, Me and
- 11:57Speaker 1: Carl are just gonna do our show, but y'all have
- 12:00Speaker 1: you have to do nick pick. That's gonna be kind
- 12:03Speaker 1: of how you know, Junior my boy crime. Yeah, but
- 12:06Speaker 1: not today though, I'm not gonna go to deep. I'm
- 12:10Speaker 1: just not gonna do that. I can't do it. I
- 12:12Speaker 1: just can't not Already No, I already know what's gonna
- 12:15Speaker 1: happen when they started going down, So I ain't even
- 12:18Speaker 1: got to address that because the comedy gonna kick in
- 12:21Speaker 1: its right in. Yeah, So what's happening everybody? Everybody good
- 12:24Speaker 1: to day? Good Man? Yeah, yeah, good. You know I'm

- 12:44Speaker 1: I just kind of feel so bad. Oh you're talking

- 12:50Speaker 1: of folks are graduating this weekend virtualtage. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: this is tough. High school college. They just got played, man, man,
- 13:01Speaker 1: no prom, no project, graduation. Yeah, that's it's the walking
- 13:07Speaker 1: across the stage, that's and the prom. You know, these
- 13:11Speaker 1: are things that it's part of your memories. Man, your prom, pitching,
- 13:15Speaker 1: your graduation, you're caping gown your mom and nelm Holland
- 13:19Speaker 1: that's messed up though. Yeah. Wow, that's what you got.
- 13:26Speaker 1: But they've accomplished something, they've earned it, and you know
- 13:30Speaker 1: their family, everybody's gonna still celebrate. Well, you know what

- 14:15Speaker 1: he's keeping us on time, so I like that. One.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Second one was a little shop with the word I'd
- 14:21Speaker 1: use it with a little chopping. But he nailed it.
- 14:23Speaker 1: He can't. He picked the ball, you know, let me
- 14:25Speaker 1: critique it a little bit. Shot. He tossed. He did
- 14:28Speaker 1: the intro and tossed to call er. Yeah, when he
- 14:31Speaker 1: should have did that himself. Yes, but that means he's
- 14:35Speaker 1: a team player. I liked that in him. Oh okay,

- 16:11Speaker 1: you're doing, and what Barack Obama's doing and what hard president.
- 16:15Speaker 1: A lot of people are not going to be able

- 26:21Speaker 1: please do not speak to me like that. I'm trying
- 26:25Speaker 1: to know that You're gonna calm down and quit talking
- 26:30Speaker 1: to me like that. I'm trying to help you. Now.
- 26:32Speaker 1: That's just rude speaking to me like that that this
- 26:34Speaker 1: is a nursery read noise? Do you get here right now?
- 26:43Speaker 1: I'm talking to him, But David, you're not gonna talk
- 26:46Speaker 1: to me like that. That's just rude and disrespectful. Don't
- 26:49Speaker 1: speak to me like that you're talking about I will
- 26:52Speaker 1: kick yo in the wheelchair. This seems to be the
- 26:55Speaker 1: only las you understand is me talking to you crazy.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Since you're talking to me crazy, when you gonna get
- 27:01Speaker 1: your is not coming down there? You stay in that stink.
- 27:05Speaker 1: How about bet what you heard me? I said, you
- 27:09Speaker 1: stay in this stink. I'm not cleaning, no I've been
- 27:11Speaker 1: trying to tell you for the past five minutes, but
- 27:13Speaker 1: you won't shut up long enough to listen. You gonna
- 27:17Speaker 1: get you, idiot. I am not coming down there to
- 27:20Speaker 1: clean your why not. I've been trying to tell you
- 27:24Speaker 1: that it is not my job. You dial the wrong number.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I'm talking to you. Who are you talking to like that?
- 27:33Speaker 1: We'll bring it on there if you think you've been
- 27:34Speaker 1: hitting your wheel chair and make it down here to
- 27:36Speaker 1: the nursery to what my and come the hell owned
- 27:40Speaker 1: listen when you were taking message from it and give
- 27:43Speaker 1: it to somebody? What what? What's your what's your message?
- 27:46Speaker 1: Right down and in? E? Uh huh what else? A?
- 27:54Speaker 1: Uh huh uh huh? What? Okay? You you got that? Thought? Yeah?
- 28:02Speaker 1: I got that? Okay? Dude? Ohm um, damn? Wh what
- 28:11Speaker 1: is that? What doing spell? I don't know what is it?
- 28:14Speaker 1: Must spell it up. I'm not selling that. You tell
- 28:18Speaker 1: me what it is? What does that say? I don't know.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Nephew taught me, Nephew tim Me. This is Nephew tim
- 28:28Speaker 1: Me from the Steve Morning. Hell, baby, you just got
- 28:31Speaker 1: break by your sister Nita while you were sitting up there,
- 28:41Speaker 1: like what in the world? Yeah, then you got me,
- 28:47Speaker 1: you got me? Oh very I got you, I got you.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I got one question for you, though, what is What
- 28:53Speaker 1: is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio show
- 28:55Speaker 1: in the land. It is the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 29:00Speaker 1: You got me? Good? There it is. I need you
- 29:06Speaker 1: to watch me. Coming up next to the time of
- 29:08Speaker 1: the hour, we got our good friend Tracy Ellis Ross
- 29:11Speaker 1: will be on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Keep it
- 29:14Speaker 1: right here. You're listening, hey, listen to everybody else promised
- 29:20Speaker 1: we got a special guest today. Uh this woman here
- 29:24Speaker 1: man award winning actress. You probably know her best of all,
- 29:29Speaker 1: probably from leading roles and several TV comedies, Girlfriends and
- 29:35Speaker 1: currently Blackish. But not only is she an accomplished actress,
- 29:40Speaker 1: she's got a new single out today now. The single
- 29:43Speaker 1: is called Love Myself and it's the lead single from
- 29:47Speaker 1: the upcoming movie entitled The High Note. And she also
- 29:51Speaker 1: stars in the movie. So we're gonna hear her new
- 29:55Speaker 1: music today and we're gonna talk about the movie focus.
- 29:57Speaker 1: So let's get to it, ladies and gentlemen. Well, I
- 29:59Speaker 1: kid you not one of my favorite people in Hollywood
- 30:02Speaker 1: that I don't have a sale number two, but still
- 30:05Speaker 1: one of my favorite people. Ladies and gentlemen. Tracy Ellis Ross, Hey,
- 30:13Speaker 1: we love you girl. What's happening? Oh my god? Hi
- 30:16Speaker 1: you guys. First of all, Steve, that's hilarious. You know what,
- 30:21Speaker 1: I don't have your cell phone number, and you're one
- 30:23Speaker 1: of my favorite people missing cocoa butter. But that's besides
- 30:26Speaker 1: the point. I mean, I don't know if you can
- 30:27Speaker 1: hear me making all this noise over here, but I'm
- 30:30Speaker 1: just gonna I'm gonna change one thing you said. My
- 30:33Speaker 1: new single, let me be clear, my first ever never
- 30:36Speaker 1: done a song before, song of life ever singing moment
- 30:40Speaker 1: is happening now, every girl. You Hey, Oh my god.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I don't even know what to say. I might that's crazy,
- 30:50Speaker 1: It's crazy. I've never saying before. It's been my biggest
- 30:53Speaker 1: dream and my biggest fear, and I just dove in
- 30:57Speaker 1: at forty seven years old, this movie. You know, it's
- 31:00Speaker 1: been a while since I've done a movie, and I
- 31:02Speaker 1: just I have had great, extraordinary roles on television that
- 31:08Speaker 1: allow me to do so many things that it takes
- 31:10Speaker 1: a lot for me to feel like there's a script
- 31:12Speaker 1: that I'm really interested in. Um, that makes me feel
- 31:15Speaker 1: like I could do something new, and this one came
- 31:17Speaker 1: along and I chased it. I chased Let's talk about.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Let's let's talk about because the movie is called a
- 31:23Speaker 1: hot Note now This Everybody is a romantic drama that's
- 31:27Speaker 1: gonna be released on May twenty ninth, and Tracy plays
- 31:30Speaker 1: a role of Grace Davis. So Tracy tell us about
- 31:33Speaker 1: the movie. Okay, Um, Grace Davis is a Okay, is
- 31:39Speaker 1: a singing superstar. Um. She is in her forties, late forties,
- 31:44Speaker 1: like me, um, and she has had I mean, imagine
- 31:48Speaker 1: the Mariah Terry that you know my mom, I guess,
- 31:52Speaker 1: you know, like an icon that's been around for years,
- 31:57Speaker 1: been doing hits forever. But she's at that point in
- 32:00Speaker 1: her career. And by the way, this is not written
- 32:03Speaker 1: about anybody. It's sort of a conglomeration of a whole
- 32:06Speaker 1: bunch of different kinds of stories. But she's at that
- 32:08Speaker 1: point in her life where she's doing the same thing
- 32:11Speaker 1: and her manager Ice Cube it, Yeah, that's where I
- 32:16Speaker 1: think his name is Jack. In the movie, it's pushing
- 32:18Speaker 1: her to do the same thing and go do a
- 32:21Speaker 1: Vegas residency and kind of stick with what she's doing,
- 32:24Speaker 1: And the movie is about her journey of embracing that
- 32:28Speaker 1: part of herself that she has kept secret and having
- 32:31Speaker 1: the courage to let it out, and it's about her
- 32:33Speaker 1: relationship with her assistant. Dakota Johnson is also a woman
- 32:39Speaker 1: trying to do what she wants to do in a
- 32:43Speaker 1: world that tells you you should be one thing, and
- 32:46Speaker 1: you know you are someone else. And I think it's
- 32:49Speaker 1: a story that so much of us can relate to.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I know I could in terms of, you know, trying
- 32:55Speaker 1: to be a person that you think everybody wants you
- 32:57Speaker 1: to be instead of trying to be who you are.
- 33:00Speaker 1: And so I get to sing in the movie, and
- 33:04Speaker 1: there's a level and it's just really exciting. I cut
- 33:07Speaker 1: sixth songs. Steve Wow. Hey, Tracy, hold on one second.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I really want to keep everything you say, and we'll
- 33:14Speaker 1: be right back. Everybody with more from Tracy Ellis, Ross,
- 33:17Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Anne Trip, thank you, thank you,
- 33:20Speaker 1: good morning, everybody. Well. Donald Trump is resisting pressure from
- 33:24Speaker 1: congressional Democrats to sign onto another coronavirus relief package, saying
- 33:28Speaker 1: that the country needs to wait and see first what
- 33:30Speaker 1: the results of the trillions already in circulation are doing
- 33:34Speaker 1: by way of fimulous packages that have already gone through. However,
- 33:37Speaker 1: the House votes on another stimulus package today. They feel
- 33:40Speaker 1: they have the votes, of course to pass it, but
- 33:42Speaker 1: the Senate is kind of iffy. In fact, a Senate
- 33:44Speaker 1: leader McConnell, and also the President pretty much say that
- 33:47Speaker 1: this one is dead on arrival. Doctor Richard Bright, the
- 33:50Speaker 1: whistleblower who accuses the Trump administration of pushing him out
- 33:53Speaker 1: as director of a federal biodefense agency, told congressional lawmakers
- 33:58Speaker 1: yesterday that he feels he was emotive because he refused
- 34:01Speaker 1: to support President Trump's campaign for an untested drug and
- 34:04Speaker 1: because he was also that drug being touted as a
- 34:07Speaker 1: successful treatment for the coronavirus. And doctor Bright said he
- 34:10Speaker 1: also always trying to urge the President, he said, to
- 34:13Speaker 1: take more action about fighting it nationally quickly. Doctor Bright
- 34:17Speaker 1: warns that the COVID nineteen fret persists, but the President,
- 34:20Speaker 1: of course has his own explanation about everything. Listen to both.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Time is running out because the virus is still spreading everywhere.
- 34:28Speaker 1: There are a lot of people that do not like
- 34:30Speaker 1: the job he did. I don't know him, I never
- 34:33Speaker 1: met him. I don't want to meet him, but I
- 34:36Speaker 1: watched him, and he looks like an angry, disgrunt bold
- 34:39Speaker 1: employee who frankly, according to some people, didn't do a
- 34:42Speaker 1: very good job well. Earlier this week, infectious disease expert
- 34:46Speaker 1: doctor Anthony fauci I kind of said the same thing
- 34:48Speaker 1: that doctor Bright said. He said that we cannot open
- 34:53Speaker 1: the nation's stores and businesses too soon, and he warned
- 34:55Speaker 1: against that. He said that we would have another ruptick
- 34:57Speaker 1: in coronavirus cases. We have to take it slowly. California's
- 35:01Speaker 1: attorney general has joined a coalition of city attorneys in
- 35:04Speaker 1: that state ensuing Uber and Liff, claiming that the ride
- 35:07Speaker 1: share companies wrongfully classify their drivers as independent contractors in
- 35:12Speaker 1: violation of a state law which makes them treat their
- 35:14Speaker 1: workers as employees if they control how they perform tasks.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Being listed as employees instead of independent contractor allows a
- 35:22Speaker 1: gig work or to qualify for a minimum wage and
- 35:24Speaker 1: also unemployment benefits. That's really the crux of what's going
- 35:27Speaker 1: on here as well. Some thirty governors have asked the
- 35:30Speaker 1: Trump administration, by the way, to provide funded legal services
- 35:33Speaker 1: for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic, however, so far
- 35:36Speaker 1: to no avail. The Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA
- 35:40Speaker 1: usually does provide disaster legal services hotlines after hurricanes and
- 35:44Speaker 1: wildflowers and fires and floods for businesses and people to
- 35:48Speaker 1: call and find out how to fill out paperwork and
- 35:49Speaker 1: stuff like that. Beyonce and her mom Tina Lawson launching
- 35:53Speaker 1: a coronavirus testing effort in their hometown at Houston, Tyler
- 35:56Speaker 1: Perry doing one in Atlanta, and today is honor. Your
- 35:59Speaker 1: answer should say, now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 36:05Speaker 1: You're listening to a right job. We're back and we're
- 36:11Speaker 1: going to continue this conversation with Tracy Ellis Ross. Tracy,
- 36:14Speaker 1: you were saying some interesting things about this corona. Your
- 36:17Speaker 1: take on it, Yeah, it's really I mean, this is
- 36:21Speaker 1: I don't know, there's no way to wrap your head
- 36:23Speaker 1: around it. And I think for me, I don't know
- 36:25Speaker 1: about for you, but you can have moments where you're like, oh, okay,
- 36:28Speaker 1: like I can do this is fine, I'm in my home,
- 36:31Speaker 1: I'm you know, and then you realize my heart gets
- 36:34Speaker 1: so heavy when I realize the reality of what is
- 36:37Speaker 1: happening for so many people, the loss of lives and
- 36:42Speaker 1: not being able to be with their families in those moments,
- 36:45Speaker 1: the loss of livelihoods and no sense of where an
- 36:49Speaker 1: income is going to come from again, the lots of plans,
- 36:53Speaker 1: the loss of hugs, Like there's so many things that
- 36:57Speaker 1: um some big, some small, But there's no way that
- 37:00Speaker 1: you can measure somebody's sense of grief and understanding of loss.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Like it's just it is what it is. And I
- 37:08Speaker 1: think we're trying to wrap our heads around something that's
- 37:11Speaker 1: not possible to wrap their head around. There's no roads
- 37:15Speaker 1: because you know, there are jobs that are gone gone
- 37:19Speaker 1: like might never come back in our culture and in society.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Um and it's and there's so the majority of our
- 37:29Speaker 1: country and our world don't have savings accounts and that's normal.
- 37:34Speaker 1: That's the system that's been set up in our country
- 37:37Speaker 1: and in our lives, like no one you can't get
- 37:40Speaker 1: ahead enough to do that. And now we have people
- 37:43Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's not that's not on the accountability
- 37:47Speaker 1: of the individual. That's the accountability of the system that
- 37:50Speaker 1: we live in. Um and and it's and yet it's
- 37:54Speaker 1: people's worth, it's people's livelihood, it's what allows them to
- 37:57Speaker 1: put food on the table to take care of themselves.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And you know, so many of us are talking about,
- 38:03Speaker 1: you know, our immune system and staying healthy, which is mind, body,
- 38:07Speaker 1: and spirit, and how do you do that when the
- 38:11Speaker 1: stress level is so high. There's just so many pieces
- 38:13Speaker 1: to it, and how it's disproportionately affecting people of color,
- 38:18Speaker 1: and of course, because this shines a light on an
- 38:21Speaker 1: inequity that has existed and a system that has not
- 38:24Speaker 1: allowed people to support themselves the way they should, particularly
- 38:28Speaker 1: black and brown people in this country. So it you know,
- 38:32Speaker 1: whether that's health or well being, whatever that is, or
- 38:35Speaker 1: the way that the people have been impacted by the
- 38:37Speaker 1: criminal justice system. There's just so many for just the
- 38:40Speaker 1: water that people drink because of the area that they
- 38:43Speaker 1: live in, or the education that they've been able to
- 38:45Speaker 1: have access to, or what I mean. We could go
- 38:46Speaker 1: on and on, and so it becomes glaringly obvious how
- 38:51Speaker 1: much trouble we are in and how the systems that
- 38:54Speaker 1: we live in need to change. And it just brings
- 38:57Speaker 1: me back to voting, you know, it brings us all
- 39:00Speaker 1: back to that place. But we have to do better. Yes,
- 39:03Speaker 1: there's a virus that none of us can do anything about,
- 39:07Speaker 1: but the systems that hold our society in place, we
- 39:10Speaker 1: need to do better so that we all can be safe,
- 39:13Speaker 1: free and healthy. Wow, we're gonna take a break. We
- 39:17Speaker 1: come back everybody. Tracy is going to introduce the song.
- 39:21Speaker 1: We're going to hear it. We'll be back with more
- 39:23Speaker 1: with Tracy Ellis Ross right after this. You're listening, all right, y'all?
- 39:30Speaker 1: We back Our special guest this morning is the wonderful
- 39:33Speaker 1: Tracy Ellis Ross. Why were you so afraid of singing?
- 39:37Speaker 1: What was? It? Breaks down? Shall we? Let's start with
- 39:40Speaker 1: the fact that my mother is a an International Treasures
- 39:46Speaker 1: of the original. Yes, I mean the woman. The woman's
- 39:53Speaker 1: got some pipe, she's got a face, she's got an identity,
- 39:56Speaker 1: she's got an and you know, I set the package,
- 40:00Speaker 1: you know what I mean, large planet, whole deal. She's
- 40:02Speaker 1: also my mommy, and I think I'm as much as
- 40:07Speaker 1: that was what I wanted to do growing up. Unconsciously,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I just took a different direction. It just felt too scary.
- 40:13Speaker 1: I felt like I needed to make my own mark,
- 40:15Speaker 1: find my own real estate in life, figure out who
- 40:18Speaker 1: I was, and then I just I took a path
- 40:21Speaker 1: and you know, my other path has done pretty well.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I mean, that's as putty nicely here. It wasn't a
- 40:27Speaker 1: bad path to take. Tracy, ain't like you've been stumbling
- 40:31Speaker 1: through life trying to out for the first time. We're
- 40:35Speaker 1: gonna hear her as a singer and a movie soundtrack
- 40:38Speaker 1: to the movie called High Note, So Tracy set the
- 40:41Speaker 1: song up all right. The song is called Love Myself.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It's written by Sarah Aaron's and Great Person. I'm produced
- 40:48Speaker 1: by Ronnie Jerkins. This is my singing debut, and I'm
- 40:53Speaker 1: so excited for everyone to hear Love Myself. The title
- 40:58Speaker 1: High Note. I thinking when I was younger, I was easy.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Now I'm stressed. Always have to have a TV. Watching
- 41:12Speaker 1: memories fade to gray and winding slowly makes me uneasy,
- 41:17Speaker 1: making me crazy. But it's a fake love if I'm
- 41:23Speaker 1: lying into myself, trying to fake the way I feel
- 41:29Speaker 1: and my stranger, if I don't recognize myself trying to
- 41:35Speaker 1: fix up some feel real, I don't real him. I

- 53:55Speaker 1: I got it like that. Strawberry Letter subject COVID nineteen
- 54:00Speaker 1: caused my husband to confess some people going through some Okay,
- 54:07Speaker 1: all right, here we go. Dear Stephen Shirley, my husband
- 54:10Speaker 1: and I having some real marital issues right now, and
- 54:14Speaker 1: I blame it on COVID nineteen. We haven't been stuck
- 54:18Speaker 1: together for this long without being able to go to work,
- 54:22Speaker 1: or play tennis or go shopping. My husband says, I
- 54:26Speaker 1: irritate him all day long, and I'm sick of seeing
- 54:31Speaker 1: him sitting up all day watching TV. We had a
- 54:35Speaker 1: big fight and it got really ugly, and as my
- 54:39Speaker 1: husband left the room, he mumbled that he couldn't wait
- 54:44Speaker 1: to get back to his baby. I asked him to
- 54:48Speaker 1: repeat it, but he wouldn't. I kept nagging him until
- 54:53Speaker 1: he finally admitted that he's been having an affair with
- 54:57Speaker 1: a co worker and told me that I know her.
- 55:04Speaker 1: He said that he slept with this woman the night
- 55:07Speaker 1: we got married. He told me that she's married too,
- 55:12Speaker 1: so it's a great set up for both of them.
- 55:16Speaker 1: He told me that he wanted to get married. He
- 55:19Speaker 1: told me that he wanted to get married and I
- 55:23Speaker 1: was a beautiful, career driven woman that bought a lot
- 55:26Speaker 1: to the table, so he chose me. He said he
- 55:29Speaker 1: truly loves me, but he has connection with the other
- 55:32Speaker 1: woman that he can't live without. I set that crying,
- 55:38Speaker 1: and he told me that he was glad his secret
- 55:40Speaker 1: was finally out. I asked if he was planning to
- 55:43Speaker 1: stop the affair, and he said that he cannot stop
- 55:45Speaker 1: seeing her. I don't want a divorce, and neither does he,
- 55:51Speaker 1: so I guess I have to decide if I can
- 55:53Speaker 1: deal with this for the sake of our marriage. I
- 55:57Speaker 1: wonder if I would have found out about the affair
- 55:59Speaker 1: if pandemic hadn't happened. Me and cheat all the time
- 56:03Speaker 1: and wives forgiven him. But this But is this marriage
- 56:07Speaker 1: ever the same afterward? Will he ever want me like
- 56:11Speaker 1: he wants this other woman? Please help God, God dogs
- 56:19Speaker 1: right see, let me tell you something. This COVID nineteen
- 56:22Speaker 1: got everybody going crazy. You know, you said, you and
- 56:26Speaker 1: your husband, y'all been getting on each other's nerves since
- 56:29Speaker 1: being quarantined together. You've been stuck together. You haven't been
- 56:32Speaker 1: stuck together as as long, being able to work or
- 56:34Speaker 1: play tennis, or go shopping or get out. You can't
- 56:37Speaker 1: stand watching him on the couch watching TV, he says,
- 56:40Speaker 1: you irritating him all day. Y'all had a big, ugly fight.
- 56:44Speaker 1: He left the room and mumbled, I can't wait to
- 56:47Speaker 1: get back to my baby. You asked him to repeat himself,
- 56:51Speaker 1: and then he admitted that he was having an affair
- 56:54Speaker 1: with a co worker that you actually know, and he
- 56:58Speaker 1: slept with her the night y'all got married. How did
- 57:01Speaker 1: that happen? The night y'all got married, he slept with her.
- 57:04Speaker 1: I don't understand that anyway. He went on to say,
- 57:07Speaker 1: this is a great setup because she is married too.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Of course you are heartbroken. You cried, and he said
- 57:15Speaker 1: he is not going to stop seeing her. And he
- 57:18Speaker 1: married you because you were beautiful, career driven. But so
- 57:25Speaker 1: he's not gonna stop seeing her. He must love her,
- 57:28Speaker 1: he must really love her. He doesn't want to divorce
- 57:31Speaker 1: because he has a connection with this other woman. So
- 57:34Speaker 1: your question is, if it wasn't for the pandemic, would
- 57:39Speaker 1: you have found out about this affair. Well, now you know,
- 57:43Speaker 1: Now you know, and you say men cheat all the
- 57:46Speaker 1: time and wives forgive them. Your husband has been cheating
- 57:50Speaker 1: on you, my dear, since day one, and you said
- 57:53Speaker 1: you need to decide if you want to stay in
- 57:56Speaker 1: this marriage. What marriage? What marriage? Your husband told you
- 58:01Speaker 1: that he can't wait to get back to his other
- 58:03Speaker 1: life with his married mistress when this pandemic is over.
- 58:08Speaker 1: You asked us, will he ever want you the way
- 58:11Speaker 1: he wants this other woman? Girl? This man does not
- 58:14Speaker 1: deserve you. I know your heartbroken right now. But one
- 58:18Speaker 1: thing this pandemic has taught all of us about life,
- 58:21Speaker 1: and life is precious. Is too short for all of this.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Now you have to decide on what's important to you,
- 58:28Speaker 1: staying in your marriage or moving on. But if it
- 58:31Speaker 1: were me, if it were me, I would be out, girl.
- 58:35Speaker 1: I'll put his but out so fast, I have a
- 58:38Speaker 1: virtual divorce. I'll be through with him on zoom, I
- 58:43Speaker 1: would be through with him. He've been cheating since day one. Okay, Steve,
- 58:46Speaker 1: it's on you. This a lot. COVID nineteen caused my
- 58:53Speaker 1: husband to confess, I don't think that's what did it.
- 59:01Speaker 1: That's not what I see in here. Y'all been having
- 59:04Speaker 1: some real matter issues right now, and I blame it
- 59:08Speaker 1: on COVID nineteen. Now you refer to COVID nineteen twice
- 59:11Speaker 1: in this letter. You say you blame it on COVID nineteen,
- 59:15Speaker 1: and then at the end of the letter you said,
- 59:19Speaker 1: I wonder if I would have found out about the
- 59:21Speaker 1: affair if the pandemic hadn't happened. You know what you're doing.
- 59:27Speaker 1: You're giving this pandemic too much credit. See, you just
- 59:32Speaker 1: ain't looking at the facts. You got a situation. See
- 59:36Speaker 1: you one of them people where you got to justify
- 59:38Speaker 1: what you're feeling, or justify what's really really wrong with
- 59:43Speaker 1: what's really something else that's wrong. This ain't COVID nineteen. Look,
- 59:49Speaker 1: he you don't got on his nerves, and he didn't
- 59:53Speaker 1: got on your nerves. You sitting up there, you irritate
- 59:58Speaker 1: him all day, and you sick of watching him watch TV.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: You had a big fight and it got ugly, and
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: your husband left the room and he mumbled that he
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: couldn't wait to get back to his baby. What what'd
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: you say? And then when you asked him what he said,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: he wouldn't tell you until you kept nagging. And when
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I come back, I got some funist letter right here.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Part two coming up at twenty three out of the hour.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, we're back. Listen. We have part
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: two of today's Strawberry Letters. COVID nineteen caused my husband
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: took confess. Go ahead up recap lois. Look, man, this
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: lady is giving COVID nineteen a little bit too much credit.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Here and her wife they struggling. They've been in the house.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: She can't play tennis, go shopping, can't work. And your
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: husband then told you you here Tati all day long,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: but you say you sick of seeing him watching TV
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: all day. So y'all had this big fight and he
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: got ugly. And as your husband left the room, he
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: mumbled he couldn't wait to get back to his baby.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I asked him to repeat it, but he wouldn't. Right down,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: that's all this over. I wouldn't repeat it. Don't worry
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: about what I said. And that's it. We ain't even acting.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: We ain't got nothing to write this letter about. Because
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: there's no way I'm telling you. I kept nagging him
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: till he finally admitted he was having an affair with
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: a co worker and told me, I know what, you
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: can't nag me that much. What did you say? I said,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: I can't believe you this crazy fix it, fix it.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I can't wait to get back to my baby. If
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: I said that when you asked me, ould have came
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: up with anything else? I might watch TV, but I
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: ain't lazy. Thank you. What did you say? Did you
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: say you can't wait to get back to your baby?
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I said, I'm glad we ain't having a baby. Oh,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I'd have said anything, but what this damn fool said?
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Because see, your husband kind of stupid. But I think
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: your husband looking for out now, see, because I don't
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: care how much nag and you do. Then he finally
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: admitted that he's been having an affair with a that's
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: a that's that's real. Big from we having an argument
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: and y'all on each other's nerves till I'm having an
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: affair with a co worker and you know, hug so Dawn,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: you're trying to be spiteful. Then turn around and said
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: he slept with this woman tonight we got married. See,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: he just being nasty now, because there's no reason for
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: you to hurt a woman like that. There's no reason
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: for you to even say that to a woman. I
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: don't know how long y'all been married, but dog, there's
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: nothing in you, as a decent human being why you
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: would say that, even if it is true. So now
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: you're just trying to be nasty, trying to hurt you.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: See it's so. It ain't got nothing to do with
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: the COVID nineteen. This dude nasty. He told me that
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: she's married too, So it's a great set up for
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: both of them. Oh, he just staying you because see
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: first of all to admit to the affair and then
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: to say it's a co worker, and then tell you
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: you know her, and then tell you he slept with
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: her the night y'all got married, and then say she
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: married too. So it's a great set up for both
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: of us. What do you You're going in way too
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: far with this. This ain't got nothing to do with
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: the COVID. This dude has been he looking for out.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: He told me he wanted to get married, and I
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: was a beautiful, career driven woman that bought a lot
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: to the table, so he chose me. Okay, Then he said,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: he truly loves you, but he got a connection with
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: the other woman that he can't live without. What what
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I mean, dog, you're just taking the knife and turning
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: it now, Dog, you know, any man get busted with
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: at le say look, he's just a thing. It happened
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: one time. You know. I'm sorry, you know but this.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I love you, but I got a connection with this
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: woman that I can't live without. So you set that crime.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: He told me he was glad his secret was finally out.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: That's another did I asked if he was planning to
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: stop the affair. He said, he can't stop seeing her.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: That's another damn. Did this Dudel is burying your sister?
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? This Dudel is being as vicious
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: with this as he can. He looking for out. I
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: don't want a divorce, and neither does he. What what
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: you mean he don't want a divorce. If he didn't
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: want a divorce, he wouldn't have said none of this
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: is right. All this is to get out. I truly
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: love you, but I can't I got a connection with
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: this woman that I can't live without Now, I truly
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: love you, but I can live without you. And you
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: know how I think I can live without you because
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I just told you every doggish thing I've ever done,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: and I did it with some malice intent. Yeah, I
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: don't want a divorce and neither does he. You're wrong
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: about that system. He wants out, So I guess I
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: have to decide if I could deal with this for
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: the sake of our marriage. Wait a minute, Wait a minute,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Wait a minute, wait wait, Like Colin said, you need
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: to put him out. See, he need to make some decisions.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: You ain't got no decisions to make, right. What are
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: you sending if you're talking about I guess I have
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: to decide if I can deal with this? What do
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you mean you have to decide if you have to
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: deal with this? Who wants to deal with this? That
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: you live with a man that's having an open affair
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: that he told you about with a married woman that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: he slept with the night he married you, that he
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: got a connection with it, he can't live without, and
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: he not gonna stop seeing her, And you got to
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: decide for the sake of out. I wonder if I
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: would have found about the the faith. The pandemic hadn't happened.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: What the pandemic got to do with it? Nothing? Men
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: cheat all the time and wives forgive though what Men
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: get busted and they wives forgive them. Men don't in
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: an argument say all the stuff he say without getting
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: stabbed slapped? But is this marriage ever the same afterwards?
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: How can it be? Will he ever want me like
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: he wants this other woman? What? Get out there? It is?
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Help yourself? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's come to nothing. Let
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: me come back. All right, we'll be back with part
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: three to Strawberry. Let it's apart three today. Get right
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: back at forty six after the hour you're listening, all right, uncle,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: back for part three. The Strawberry letter COVID nineteen calls
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: my husband tick confess what is this? This woman having
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: a hard time with her husband. He walks out the
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: room after this big argument and said, I can't wait
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: to get back to my baby. She asked him to
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: repeat it. He wouldn't. She kept nagging him, and then
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: he had finally admitted that he having a fair with
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: a co worker. Told me that I know him. He
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: said he slept with this woman to night we got married.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: He told me she's married, so it's a great set
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: up for both of them. He told me he wanted
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: to get married and you was beautiful. He had and
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: she was beautiful and had a career driven woman, and
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: she bought a lot to the table. So he chose
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: to marry a woman that wrote the letter. But he
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: said he truly loves the woman who wrote the letter,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: but he got a connection with the other woman he
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: can't live without. Now while she's sitting that crime, he glad,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: He tell her, I'm glad the secret is finally out.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: What I asked if he was planning and stop the fan.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: He said, he can't stop seeing her. And now this
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: lady said, I don't want a divorce, and neither of us.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: He it don't sound he don't want a divorce. See,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: men that don't want a divorce say I'm sorry, I'm
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: gonna stop forgive me. Men who don't want a divorce
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I would never have repeated, even if somehow my dumb
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: man said I missed my baby. I bet you I
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: don't say it again. What did you say? I said,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I can't believe you crazy? Yes, sir, did you just
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: say I missed my baby? I said, I'm glad we
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: ain't having a baby. But what I'm nothing to do
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: is repeat that if I love you and I don't
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: want to hurt you. But he digging a knife in you.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: He said he can't. He ain't gonna stop seeing her.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: He ain't. And now you're talking about you wondering about
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: if you to find out about the affair of the
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: pandemic hadn't happened. What, Well, now you know I'm wanting it,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: And is this marriage ever gonna be the same? I
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: guess I have to decide if I could deal with
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: this for the sake of our marriage. Like Carlin said,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: what marriage you keep referring to y'all not in a marriage.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: This an arrangement, This is not a marriage system. Please
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: help pull yourself up, get yourself together. He already said,
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: you're a beautiful woman, your career driven, you bring a
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: lot to the table. That's an attractive woman to a
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: lot of men. Like man, don't don't he didn't decide,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: love yourself yourself and don't sit in a house and
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: a relationship that don't listen to me. Judge Lynntola came
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: on my show and gave the best advice I've ever
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: heard from She said her grandmother told her, don't let
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: a man have to tell you twice. He don't want
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: you whoa what we're talking about? His sister? Come on now,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: pull yourself together, all right, you guys cannot go and
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: Instagram Steve Harvey Instagram and Facebook. Make sure you check
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: out the Strawberry Letter podcast. What you Got Junior? Coming
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: up at the top of our will find out what
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Donald Trump, the President wants Obama to do. You're listening
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: to all right, call it. President Trump is asking Obama
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: to do what. Well, let me tell you this. This
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: is story is trending too in political news, Junior, Jay
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: and Steve. President Trump is demanding his predecessor, former President
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Barack Obama, give a testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: on what he calls the biggest political crime in US history.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: But the Senator Lindsey Graham is responded, you know, he's
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: responded to this tweet that President Trump sent out, and
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: he said he doesn't think he can even ask former
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: President Obama to testify. He wanted mister Trump to be careful,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: he said, be care for what you wish for, you know.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: And mister Trump, you know, the president he has failed
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: to explain, what is he talking about with Obama? Gay?
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: What illegal activity are you referring to with President Obama?
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: But I tell you what, Isn't it good to know
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: that President Trump is in favor of investigating former presidents? Beautiful?
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: You're so gone hell about it. As a matter of fact,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that the Obama administration is pretty clean
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: because nobody in his administration has ever gone to jail.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: And the Republican Senate House, which was controlled then, yes,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: would have bought charges anything. He'd have done any of this.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: He had never got past impeachment. So I say, you
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: know what, you can't do that, but I wish Obama
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: would because there's nothing now. So now, once you're not president,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: you beating set of presidents, and now we can bring
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: your ass up because you see, once you put your
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: hand and you get under oath and you lie, that's
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: called perjury. Partner. Now, he's been perjuring himself since he'd
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: been in office, and he just ain't took an oath,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: but he took the oath of the office of president.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: But once you go to court and put your hand
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: on that Bible, partner, and then you lie. After that
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: that's that's that's that's jail time. That's what Flynn is
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: in jail for. See perjury and he lied twice, pled guilty.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Lie every day. Trump lies every jail. He doesn't understand,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: and he just deflects everything. He's more consumed with Obama
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: than he hears anything else because he has one operating
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: modal shift, the blame and distract. That's how he runs
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: the country. It Once he get heat on him, he
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: pulled heat on somebody else. Once somebody bust him in
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: a lie, he changing, and just say he shift, He shifts.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: This dude man. Yeah, And it's sickening to me if
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: the number of people they would have brought it out Wether,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: it's sickening the number of people who call themselves intelligent,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: people who call themselves righteous, people listen to this man.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: I don't care how you phrase what he says. I
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: don't care if you play the clip on Fox or CNN.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: If you play exactly what he said, it's a lie.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: If you play exactly what he's said, it's not the truth.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: But for so many decent people in the goop to
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: be saying that they'll vote for him, it's amazing how
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: they turned a blind eye to all of this that
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: he's done. That's right, it's sickening, man. And now Mitch
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: McConnell's backtracking. Now, Steve, he's saying, remember, because he said
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: that President Obama did not leave in pandemic, you know,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: sort of playbook for the Trump administration. Now he's backtracking,
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: saying he did because they got evident that he had
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: formed a Pandemic Global task Force. And one of the
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: one hundred and eighteen or so things that Donald Trump
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: rescinded within a week of his presidency was that right there.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: And that was almost four years ago, and that would
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: have gave you plenty of time to prepare for a
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: pandemic had you let the task force in place. It's
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: just dudes, this is said. Coming up. We got more
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: than stee every morning show at twenty minutes after the hour,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: more trending dudes, and topic will be right back. You're listening,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I heard anybody. We're back, But Lord have mercy. Not
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: right now, Jay, not right now? Say it ain't so
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: man in trending food news man the Roman noodle factory
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: in Richmond, Virginia. Then he came up affected with COVID
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: nineteen not the Roman Newdle factor. Not to come on.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: I wouldn't have made it through college without Roman nudion.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: You better talk, man, be slaver, shicken slaver. There's so
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: much salt in the Roman News that coronavirus ain't got
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: a chance in the man or as we call them,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Raymond Newdles. Nothing like tanning that package, putting that season
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: on that, put that water, and putting microwave for three
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: minutes and thirty seconds. You got to know how long
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: to cook these news. You couldn't make it if you
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: didn't have a microwave. Are you talking about what you can?
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: You running water on it? Get out of here, man,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I'm suggesting we start a fund for them. Yeah, not
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: a go fund me. All the test kids we can get.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: We got to get this at the source. I don't
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: see how America gonna make it without MS. Why I'm
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: at to wait, I'm at is because of Roman news.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Remember the limoon Ja, the limon flake. Take that little pack,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: the little pack and open that little packet. What then
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: you put your wieners in there, y'all pray for them
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: down there at the factory. We're back, We'll be back.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: That's a week of Eating Boy three after the hour
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: you're listening. During this time of change, ZIP recruiters focus

- 1:17:46Speaker 1: critiqued either one of them. Okay, let's go quickly again.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: First one. The first one was good, low type, but
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: he's keeping us on time. So I like that one. Yeah.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: The second one was a little i'd use the way
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: blue choppy buddy. He nailed it. He picked the ball.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: You know, let me critique it a little bit. Shot.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: He talked, He did the intro and tossed to Carlin. Yeah,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: when he should have did that himself. Yes, but that
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: means he's a team player. I liked that in it. Oh, okay,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: we gotta look at it like that. Yeah, okay, all right.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: So where we're at now, Junior, where we're going, Well,

- 1:18:33Speaker 1: to you? Man? I did understand him perfectly. That was me. Yeah,
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I'm not really coming until if Carlin had to say,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: now I was going into the course. I was very comfortable.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Ain't you got a graduation going on this weekend? Is you?
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Because you did not see what you're talking about? You didn't? Yeah, dude, man,
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: this weekend, man, I'll be one of the speakers along
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Kevin hard is hosting. President Obama is the keynote speaker.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: I would assume. I don't know nobody bigger than him,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: So I'm just gayful to be on it. I'm wanted
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: to speak us along with some other people. So for
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: the HBCU graduates out there, I hope you all enjoy
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: what we're gonna do for you this weekend. Yeah, that's
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: gonna be Saturday, and then Steve, you're doing your joining
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: courses with Facebook and Instagram today Friday, this afternoon to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: celebrate more of the class of twenty twenty. So that's great, Steve,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: that's big man, that's great. That's so big. So all right, Jake, alright, No,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: that's great what you're doing and what Barack Obama is
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: doing and presidents. A lot of people are not going
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: to be able to go to graduation. Steve now as
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: on a march like the traditional march, because it's coronavirus
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: and it's very sad. And know, this is this is
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: your memories, this is you know, this is sad you forever.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: So with that being said, the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: would like to give you graduates twenty twenty sounds of graduation.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Kick the music, Kick the music, good sounds of graduation.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: That's my baby, Your mother didn't want me to come here,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: but I'm here. Love you all right? Coming up is
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: our last break of the day. It is the last
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: break of the day. I get to say, go just
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: do it. Just do it, Jake, I have uncle Steve's
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: closing remarks at forty nine minutes after the hour. The
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: last break of the day. You're listening for anybody on
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: the last break of the day of the week, is
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: last break of the you know what you want to
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: call it week? Do you make plans for the weekend? Na?
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: Not anymore? No, I ain't. Ain't nothing playing where you're going?
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Ass too sick to go to a movie. My wife
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: keeps reminding me, Steve, you're not doing anything, and nobody's
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: coming over. I said, baby, we could that you're over sixty. Hey,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: you're gonna quit telling me, you know, like I'm just
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: decrepit or something. Wow. Yeah, man, the closing remarks, I
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: don't want to. I just you know, I need a break. Yeah,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: sometimes you do. This is this is a lot, everybody.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Because I was talking today and my wife said, Steve,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: you know I'm gonna be getting ready to go on
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: vacation right now. I said, I can't. She said, why,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: I said, because it's it's a crisis going on, and
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: we got a radio show, I said, and I just
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: have an obligation to talk my listeners through it with
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: information and inspiration and comedy, you know, because I think
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: if they didn't have our voice. And I'm not putting
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: so much importance on what we do, but our voice
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: is important to a lot of people, you know. Yeah,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: it's like families, people that count on us to give
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: them something. And so I told, I said, I probably
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: won't be taking a vacation like that this year because
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: of the virus or because of the obligation, but you know,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: it's it's kind of heavy on all of us, you know,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: And I think, yeah, I just feel for so many
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: people because you know, look, we're working from home. At
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: least we have a job. There are people man whose
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: companies are closed, and that's it. It's people who await
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: sa bar backs and and and and bus boys and
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: valets and hostesses and working companies. And got clean up
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: services that go to office builders and provide a cleaning
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: services where all the offices is closed, so the cleaning
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: services is down. You got people daycare centers that's gone.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: It's restaurants that will not recover from this, because if
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: you're a small restaurant owner X amount of people come in,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: you got to buy your food restart. Those people are struggling. Man,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: it's a lot going on. I don't want us to
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: look at what's happening in this White House and get
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: it confused during election time. Look, I got that people
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: want to go back to work. And like I said
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: the other day, if I was in that position where
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: I had to choose risking my safety of going back
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: to work and going back to work to provide for
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: my family, right, I might have to face that decision
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: and go back to work and put my mask on
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: my gloves and be prayed up and you know, and
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: and go to it. But I would do it. And
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: I understand where people are coming from, and I understand
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: the need to get the economy back rolling so people
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: can go back to work because unemployment don't pay the
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: same as your check for the average person. It just doesn't.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: And so I understand it. So with all of that
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: being said, it's a challenging time. But man on, man,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: as heavy as I feel with it sometimes and as
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: bad as I think it is, it's a lot of
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: people not doing as well as you are. Can I
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: say something, you know as much as we you know,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: we're on the radio, we have fun, and like you said,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: you give information, But this is this is a lot
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: of people. This is the one thing that's there every day. Well,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: you know, they get up in the morning, maybe they
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: can't go to work, but they say, well, I can
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: listen to the Steve Harvey Show. I'm gonna get let
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: some lads, I'm gonna get some knowledge. So it's very
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: important that we take what we do very serious. And
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: we do, we really do. We know what people are
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: going through. We know that people are hurting, and you know,
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: we do this radio show. We don't know how many
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: people we touched because we don't see you guys. We
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: don't see you guys at all, and we know you're
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: listening to and just know that we feel your pain too.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Because everybody knows ten people that ain't working, and those
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: ten people, no ten people, and those ten people, no
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: ten people, and so on and so on and so on.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: So forget what this guy and the White House is saying.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: People are dying, people are not working, and people are
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: in bad shape because they can't pay their bills and
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: they want to work. They want them. They don't want
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: that little check. They want to work. They want to
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: get out and work. And they were working. They go
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: back to work, and that choice I'm gonna die or
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: I stay at home. I don't know, I might have
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: to make it saying, because you know, going to work
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: gives a person a sense of value. Yeah, the average
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: person that I know doesn't want to hand out. They
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: want to work. They want to feel value. You know.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: Men want to come in and and they family go,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: hey daddy, and like he come in, like he saved
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: the day. Women want to come home, Hey mommy, and
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: mommy been out there making money, like she's saving the day.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Don't nobody want to be sitting here waiting on no
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: mail man to come with a check that ain't gonna
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: that that's not gonna cover this stuff, right? You know,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: you know your job might have been check the check,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: but you knew at least you could cover something that
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: unemployment check don't cover enough. Dog. Yeah, man, So y'all
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: keep y'all head up. Man. I know it's tough, it's challenging,
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: but prayer works. I'm just telling you it works. Man.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: If you haven't done it tried. I'm telling you it
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: provides you with a level of comfort and confidence that
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: you may need in a time like this. That's just
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: a suggestion. He's a anxiety Well, those are my closing remarks.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: That's it. I would say, have a great weekend, but
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: have a good Sunday, Saturday, and we'll see you Monday,
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: which will be just like Saturday. For all Steve Every contests,
