Transcript
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Now of course, diving into DDG's business once more as when it comes to the coverage of DDG, I talked about his spat, his fiasco, whatever you want to call it with Holly Bailey, of course.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: But when it comes to his actual music, this is the first time I've ever just deep dive into his musical output as far as his single that's out now on all DSPs titled, that's my ball.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: Now, of course, with that being considered, just let you know this is the first time me diving into DDG's musical coverage, meaning that I may get some things wrong, which I definitely let me know I did as far as my WXL coverage.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to DDG, because I was asking myself, and asking the audience, why in the world is XXL not reaching out to these influencers, because of the numbers that they're
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Top artist right now currently as far as freestyle is being considered in the numbers that he's putting up as far as last time I look he had like around two hundred thirty thousand and under a span of like nineteen hours right and floors just could do that and then some more so I was wondering why not get a playboy max and ddg and of course on analytical dreams video spotify shout out to y'all on those on that platform for letting me know
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: that D-D-G was on WXL and of course it was in twenty twenty-one.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: So that should let you know.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now when it comes to longevity or not getting your credit that you think you deserve, sometimes you just have to be consistent and then the rewards will come after that consistency because you never know how long
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: you have to prepare to meet that opportunity, right?
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then it equals success.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, let me get off my soapbox.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: So anyways, DDG was on the twenty twenty one WXL freshman list, as you can see right here, analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: But as you can tell, he's right here in the bottom, right?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: I believe.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: But if you look at the list, I mean, we have
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, as far as the people who are standouts on this list, looking in in twenty twenty five.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Ruby Rose, not from music, but she is a standout on this list.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Poo's shiny, uh, flowmilly is on this.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely a standout in twenty twenty five.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, to see, it's a pretty solid list.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Forty-two Doug, Laquia, all of those artists I believe is standing the test of time and twenty-twenty-five.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, they chart toppers, of course, but as far as still getting coverage from major outlets, they are still prominent in that sense.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: DDG has a new track titled, that's my ball.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, as he's an influencer himself, the actual marketing strategy for this single has been phenomenal.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: As you can see right here, I don't want to play the audio because the copyright reasons, but which I don't think you'll copyright me, but you know as far as being under major conglomerance, which if you don't know,
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: DDG put out that small ball under Sony music entertainment.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: So of course, just because you, you know, made an artist may be fond of you doesn't mean they're major labels, right?
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: And they may strike you.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: So with DDG, this is a promotion.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: And as you can see right here, him and Andy, a love is back at it as one of the more engaging couples on the internet, you know, excluding love Island.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, it's a good disgrace.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: That shows going insane.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: with a DDG, any a love as you can see right here.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: He has her in this video promotion and he's been putting out all type of promotion before this video.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, before it is actual single.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: This is another clip of him promoting the track.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: And this time he has sexy red and her friend popping up in the clip.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know why I know where she has a mustache.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if she's trying to be funny.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like what an actual, when I said, I think somebody commented that she got a stash.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Let me see, she got sometimes a low key.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't know why she has a stage.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think she's just pulling on a costume.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, at the end of the day, uh, here's another clip from DDG promoting that's my ball.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then, of course, here's DDG showcasing his ultimate influence as far as his track speed off of his album that's out now as far as, um, blame the chat.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this came out May second of twenty twenty five.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: This particular album has
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: At fifteen tracks thirty eight minutes in length so it's not that long but of course when it comes to a project.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: He made this exclusively what is shot so that means when he says blame the chat he basically means these are the tracks they pick for the album and that came out in May of this year and he's already back again with a new single.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: So as you can tell, DDGs have enough phenomenal, twenty, twenty-five, and of course, I forgot that he was on the twenty-twent one, double-excel, fresh-mail list.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you come to realize, long-gevity consistency, if you're really believing your craft, you never know when you could hit the heights, because I would say, DDGs as hot as he's ever been, pulse.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: Had to pause that one, but as far as DDG engagement was, he's at the top, he's towards the top as far as status that he's ever been as far as his entire career.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: I would say maybe some of his prime YouTube
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: engagement, he's up to that level.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, everybody remembers his most successful track of all time, as far as Moonwalking and Calabassas was which earned him double platinum certification.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: And it peaked at eighty two on Billboard Hot One hundred.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about one at a top tier influences in the world.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then shift it over into the music land because I remember you know I'm a chat, you know as a PG podcast, well, I'm a chat homie.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just put it like that.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: So, and obviously if you can tell off the name.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Academies is a huge influence on me.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So when it comes to musical coverage, he literally said back then he would not cover DDG because he's not a real musician.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: But then you know, I'm saying, I was like, do you want to look at the state of hip-hop like what's going on?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: And then look at it in twenty twenty five after half a moonwalk and then calabass is going double platinum peaking at number eighty two on billboard hot one hundred after having his ultimate status solidified by being a part of the twenty twenty one double XL freshman list because what you know regardless what you want to say that list is pretty solid as far as the double XL twenty twenty one.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I already talked about coil array flow milly poochized the forty two dug and that's just some of them.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I look at the list this year.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then look at it five years in your realized that some of these lists do not pan out even in that year.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them most of them fall off in that year and I just listed all four from that twenty twenty one freshman class that I'll still hear to this day.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to that, DDG ultimately was not being respected as a musician.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: And now you see him also being nominated for Best New Heart Best New Hip Hop artists from the BET Awards.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: You come to realize that he's now getting his flowers.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think overall, him being one of the top tier content creators ever, him also having music that's topping the charts.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: But him having music that's being impactful
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: to the point where he's putting a respectable numbers and somebody who does a lot of other things, a plethora of other things, and still having respectable numbers and music specifically.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of art is out here that I haven't trouble selling the first week sales that DDG had, which of course he may fund of, but at the end of the day with him playing a whole album on stream over and over and over again, and then putting it out on DSPs to the point where people came out and
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Essentially still bought the album to the point where he sold around eleven thousand units first week still respectable because of course he does a lot of other things and people in music only can't put up those numbers for a week so it just shows that it well for one shows you how hard it is to get certain first week numbers
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: but also shows you that DDG may be one of the top tier content creators of all time.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: So with that being said, just want to let you know that that's my ball is out now on all DSPs.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: DDG consistently is going through success, success achievements, and they're adding to his overall iconic career in this thing called content creation.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: But that being said, click my link to my bio.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know one of my social medias.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think about DDG's latest single title?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's my ball.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: And also, what is your favorite track throughout DDG's career?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: How about y'all list out your top five DDG songs?
