- 1:04Speaker 1: My guests is an old friend in the business. Uh,
- 1:07Speaker 1: somebody I'm very proud of. John Murray, executive producer of
- 1:10Speaker 1: the of the new hit nationally syndicated Sherry. That's Day
- 1:15Speaker 1: Tap Talk, hosted by the one and only Sherry Shepherd
- 1:18Speaker 1: and recognizable face. He has spent a majority of his
- 1:21Speaker 1: career as a TV host, contributor, media personality, and as
- 1:25Speaker 1: a journalist. Prior to joining Sherry, he was an executive
- 1:28Speaker 1: producer Very Popular Series or TV one, where he produced
- 1:31Speaker 1: and directed episodes of the documseries called Uncensored. He had
- 1:35Speaker 1: a lot to talk about. I'm only going to the
- 1:37Speaker 1: littlest credits in this particular opening, but we're gonna talk
- 1:40Speaker 1: about a whole lot of credits once we start talking.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Please work with the money making conversations, masterclass, John Murray.
- 1:45Speaker 1: How are you doing, sir? I'm doing good. Rashaw. Well,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I like your things that you got set up there too. Man, Well,
- 1:52Speaker 1: thank you very much. You know, uh, all these people
- 1:54Speaker 1: have been on my show. I have not just snatched
- 1:56Speaker 1: their pictures offline online, you know what I'm saying. And uh,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you know you know Sherry's up there because you know
- 2:04Speaker 1: I have my little tow y'all build down. I'm not Sherry.
- 2:07Speaker 1: You know, I'm not Sharry, but I would tell you
- 2:10Speaker 1: some man, let's let's let's let's let's take the elephant
- 2:12Speaker 1: out of the room. Okay, because because this room, the
- 2:16Speaker 1: elephant don't need to be in there taking up all
- 2:17Speaker 1: this good spirit in here. Brother, I am proud of you.
- 2:21Speaker 1: This interview is about you, but you know how I
- 2:24Speaker 1: feel about Sherry. I personally went up there man to
- 2:27Speaker 1: hug both of y'all and shaking your hand and say, brother, congratulations, man,
- 2:32Speaker 1: let's talk about your feelings and where you at right now,
- 2:36Speaker 1: especially when the ratings came out announcing the success of
- 2:40Speaker 1: the series so far, we're gonna continue to climb. When
- 2:43Speaker 1: I say serious, I'm talking about the daytime talk called Sherry,
- 2:46Speaker 1: hosted by Sherry Shephard. Absolutely Rishon, let me first, and
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm on say, we were so excited to have you
- 2:53Speaker 1: here hanging out with us, and it meant a lot. Uh,
- 2:56Speaker 1: You've had great success in this very genre with multiple
- 3:01Speaker 1: people and multiple platforms, and so to have you here
- 3:04Speaker 1: really was validating for us, man, and and to not
- 3:07Speaker 1: only get your feedback and to hear that you were
- 3:11Speaker 1: enjoying yourself watching you, like there were times where I
- 3:14Speaker 1: catch you from stage on the side of the stage
- 3:17Speaker 1: and you were laughing at the stories you were taking
- 3:20Speaker 1: in the audience and just seeing you in real time
- 3:23Speaker 1: have a good time, which is our mission for everybody
- 3:25Speaker 1: that watches this show, that comes to this show. It
- 3:28Speaker 1: meant a lot to us because you're one of those
- 3:30Speaker 1: people like me, Rashan, it takes a lot to make
- 3:32Speaker 1: you laugh out laugh, So to see you laugh out loud,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I knew we were achieving our goal. Well you know
- 3:37Speaker 1: over tell you this, Uh, the the whole process of
- 3:40Speaker 1: being an executive producer is that you know you're reaching
- 3:44Speaker 1: a lot of people that you don't know and the
- 3:46Speaker 1: audience you can't see. So to see a live reaction
- 3:50Speaker 1: is always instant validation. Okay, he got it. Okay, this
- 3:53Speaker 1: did work. This makes sense. But watching you check on
- 3:57Speaker 1: the role of executive producer on a national series that's
- 4:00Speaker 1: cleared it over native percent of this country. That means
- 4:04Speaker 1: you're talking to people in Utah, you're talking to people
- 4:06Speaker 1: and for a mall, you're talking to people in the
- 4:08Speaker 1: last you're talking to people in Texas. How do you
- 4:11Speaker 1: an the show prepared at what point of view y'all
- 4:13Speaker 1: coming other than Sherry. We know she's to start the show,
- 4:16Speaker 1: but you gotta reach soccer malls, the Latino community, the
- 4:19Speaker 1: African American community, the conservative community. Do y'all take all
- 4:23Speaker 1: that in consideration when you're doing the segments. You know
- 4:26Speaker 1: what we're sharing. One of the things that we're just
- 4:28Speaker 1: trying to be intentional about is giving people unapologetic Sherry.
- 4:32Speaker 1: The beauty of Sherry is and I had to tell
- 4:34Speaker 1: this to our team here, uh in a meeting one time.
- 4:37Speaker 1: The Sherry was what we like to call white famous
- 4:40Speaker 1: before she was black famous. Sherry was somebody who carved
- 4:43Speaker 1: out a niche uh in the Hollywood community as the
- 4:46Speaker 1: little funny black girl on all the big major white sitcoms.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You know. When Sherry first got on the view, Uh,
- 4:53Speaker 1: they did like in the research studies, because people outside
- 4:55Speaker 1: of the industry don't know that all these shows do
- 4:57Speaker 1: focus groups and research. Then these things of people like
- 5:00Speaker 1: to talk about called cumulative scores, which quantify your impact
- 5:04Speaker 1: to the audience. And when Sherry first got to the view,
- 5:07Speaker 1: the black audience was like, who is she and how
- 5:10Speaker 1: does she get this job, and uh, you know, how
- 5:12Speaker 1: does she deserve this opportunity? And by a year two
- 5:16Speaker 1: or three, she had become one of the favorites with
- 5:19Speaker 1: the black audience because they felt as though she spoke
- 5:21Speaker 1: to their voice. So she was somebody who Middle America
- 5:25Speaker 1: could relate to in life. She's somebody who felt safe
- 5:28Speaker 1: to them because they had seen her own friends and
- 5:31Speaker 1: everybody Loves Raymond and all these big major franchise uh sitcoms.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But then she was carving out a space for black audiences.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So by the time she left the View after her
- 5:41Speaker 1: seven plus years on the show, Sherry had created this
- 5:44Speaker 1: impact that really was kind of universal. She started moving
- 5:47Speaker 1: into spaces in which we talked about how Whoopie moves,
- 5:50Speaker 1: or Michael Jordan moves, or maybe Will Smith before the
- 5:53Speaker 1: Oscar slap, successful black talent that all of America just
- 5:58Speaker 1: see as a talent. Yes, at some point, yes, people
- 6:01Speaker 1: do remind you of the color of your skin. But
- 6:04Speaker 1: for the most part, sure it became one of those
- 6:06Speaker 1: people that became relatable to everybody. You know, you found
- 6:09Speaker 1: something in her journey to connect to. So when we're
- 6:12Speaker 1: preparing the content for the show, uh, we're looking at
- 6:16Speaker 1: stories and ideas and guests. We really try to do
- 6:19Speaker 1: the things that feel authentic to share it because one
- 6:22Speaker 1: of the things that we've learned is that if Sherry
- 6:24Speaker 1: is doing something that feels authentic to her, that's fun
- 6:27Speaker 1: for her, that's organic for her, then the audience has
- 6:31Speaker 1: that same reaction to it, you know. And so if
- 6:34Speaker 1: it's not something that's natural for her, if she can't
- 6:36Speaker 1: find the humanity in it, or the funny in it,
- 6:40Speaker 1: or the flirting in it, then we'll stay away from
- 6:42Speaker 1: it because if it doesn't connect with her, it's not
- 6:44Speaker 1: going to connect with Militred in Montana, absolutely, and I
- 6:47Speaker 1: think that's important. The beauty of when you talk about
- 6:50Speaker 1: her career, her relatability. I met Sharry when I was
- 6:53Speaker 1: executive co executive producing the Jamie Foxx Show back on
- 6:56Speaker 1: the w B and she was an actress we hired,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and that's when she came into my life. And and
- 7:02Speaker 1: then as watched, I've been I've been at the like
- 7:05Speaker 1: I said on the window sill, watching her career, and
- 7:08Speaker 1: you're absolutely correct, being able to transition into white sitcoms,
- 7:12Speaker 1: white television projects seamlessly, and that there was a testament
- 7:16Speaker 1: to her crossover ability, and then, like you said, the
- 7:20Speaker 1: view only just solidified it. And then when she came out,
- 7:23Speaker 1: she was back to doing those things when she was
- 7:25Speaker 1: no longer part of you, doing those white sitcoms or
- 7:27Speaker 1: those non traditional characters that you want to assume to
- 7:30Speaker 1: be relatable to a black actress or black actor. Then
- 7:33Speaker 1: I see in essence walking in the streets of essence,
- 7:37Speaker 1: black women stopping there taking photos, taking selfie. So that
- 7:41Speaker 1: type of crossover. And I and I was blessed every
- 7:44Speaker 1: when I say blessed ladies and gentlemen. I arrived in
- 7:47Speaker 1: New York when it was letting the audience in. And
- 7:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you he's He's right. I've been fortunate
- 7:52Speaker 1: to launch a lot of TV shows, whether it's sitcoms,
- 7:55Speaker 1: whether His whether it's UH, whether it's game shows, or
- 7:58Speaker 1: whether it's a talk shows. The audience means everything. And
- 8:02Speaker 1: how that audience comes in. We have a term we
- 8:04Speaker 1: do a talk show world called car wash the words.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And somebody comes in, they don't look up snuff. We're
- 8:10Speaker 1: telling we might have a code in the back to
- 8:12Speaker 1: put on them, or are you look pretty bad, We're
- 8:14Speaker 1: gonna put you in the back row. You can't sit
- 8:16Speaker 1: on the front row. That's car washing your audience. This
- 8:19Speaker 1: audience that showed up that I saw looked like they
- 8:22Speaker 1: were going to church, looked like they was ready for
- 8:25Speaker 1: a fascist show, and they were the stars. How did
- 8:30Speaker 1: she make that switch? We know what the Wendy Williams Show,
- 8:33Speaker 1: but to come on the air and the audience already
- 8:36Speaker 1: line up that fits her brand? How did she pull
- 8:39Speaker 1: that off? John? Well, you know, the people are just
- 8:42Speaker 1: responding to her, you know. It is the thing. You know,
- 8:45Speaker 1: people know that we inherited production team from the Windy
- 8:49Speaker 1: Williams Show and deb Mark Mercury. Uh. And but everything
- 8:53Speaker 1: that has been done to prepare for the Sherry Show, Uh,
- 8:57Speaker 1: it has been very different from that. You know. Uh,
- 8:59Speaker 1: there's something people who worked for this syndication company for
- 9:01Speaker 1: thirteen years, but we've really been able to condition people
- 9:05Speaker 1: to adopt the language of This is day one on
- 9:08Speaker 1: a brand new franchise. So this is a year fourteen
- 9:12Speaker 1: of a franchise that Denmark has been producing. This is
- 9:15Speaker 1: season one on a brand new show that's literally all
- 9:18Speaker 1: about Sherry. So the audience looks very different from the
- 9:22Speaker 1: audience that used to come to the previous show the
- 9:25Speaker 1: makeup of the demographics that we have, and you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: even with our television region. You know, our show is
- 9:32Speaker 1: syndicated in something like point five percent of the country,
- 9:37Speaker 1: which is a far more expensive audience than you know,
- 9:40Speaker 1: there's been lots of stories in the press that we
- 9:42Speaker 1: inherited time slots for Wendy Williams. But the truth of
- 9:45Speaker 1: the matter is we expanded on matilu time slots and
- 9:49Speaker 1: because when Williams show was only about sixty nine percent
- 9:52Speaker 1: of the country. Uh, and so we've added an additional
- 9:55Speaker 1: thirty plus percent to our audience. And so, uh, the
- 10:00Speaker 1: timing and the appetite for sure, he was just right.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And we lean into all things Sherry and making sure
- 10:07Speaker 1: that this environment is a true reflection of her. You know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: the through line is joy, The through line is laughed at.
- 10:13Speaker 1: The through line is friendship, you know, and and the
- 10:15Speaker 1: friendship part is so important, which is why on our
- 10:18Speaker 1: premier episode, one of her friends was one of our
- 10:21Speaker 1: first guests, Candy Burris. You know, another friend of both
- 10:24Speaker 1: of ours, single trainise of American Idol fame, recorded our
- 10:28Speaker 1: theme song talk show Legend, you know and friend to us.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Both Rlanda. Watts is the voiceover announcer for our show
- 10:35Speaker 1: every day, and so leading to these elements that are
- 10:40Speaker 1: our real life for Saunas has really helped with an
- 10:44Speaker 1: organic connection to the audience and that's been imperative for
- 10:47Speaker 1: our success. Sure, you know, the social media can be
- 10:51Speaker 1: a curse and it can be a blessing, and then
- 10:53Speaker 1: you can read certain things that social media just make
- 10:55Speaker 1: you smile. You op post that you did on LinkedIn
- 10:59Speaker 1: with Rulanda Watts was one of those posts that made
- 11:02Speaker 1: me smile. It also let us know that life is
- 11:05Speaker 1: about a journey and you never know how you will
- 11:08Speaker 1: reconnect with a person. And there's that person humble, is
- 11:12Speaker 1: that person ready to accept where you're at when they
- 11:15Speaker 1: were versus where they were met when y'all met the
- 11:17Speaker 1: first time around. Tell everybody about the Rolanda watching relationship
- 11:22Speaker 1: and the post that is one of my favorite posts.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I'm just tell you, John, when I saw that I
- 11:26Speaker 1: shared it, I liked it and because I love Orlonda
- 11:29Speaker 1: Watson there and I totally respect who you are and
- 11:32Speaker 1: watch your journey from Tom Jordas now, but that was
- 11:35Speaker 1: a post that meant something to me absolutely. Richard, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 1: when I was a student in college. Well, first before they,
- 11:42Speaker 1: when I was a student in high school, we took
- 11:44Speaker 1: a class trip to New York City and we sat
- 11:46Speaker 1: in the audience of the Rolonda watch shop and I'll
- 11:48Speaker 1: never get LaToya Jackson was the guest, and you know,
- 11:53Speaker 1: and so then by the time I got to college,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I uh, I was a last key kid with Sean
- 11:58Speaker 1: so so talk those where my babysitters. I get home
- 12:02Speaker 1: after school, I let myself into the house and Ricky
- 12:04Speaker 1: Lake and Rolanda and Montell Williams, those are my babysitters.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So I remember hearing a Ricky Lake story and how
- 12:11Speaker 1: she was discovered fresh out of college and she was
- 12:14Speaker 1: the youngest talk show host in the in the in
- 12:16Speaker 1: the business. And I thought that was gonna be my trajectory.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I thought, I went down to Norfolk State, shout out
- 12:20Speaker 1: to anybody that went to hbc U, and I thought
- 12:22Speaker 1: I was gonna go to this Historically by college, somebody
- 12:25Speaker 1: was gonna realize how gifted I was and give me
- 12:27Speaker 1: a talk show. And so, in an effort to do that,
- 12:30Speaker 1: I uh went on the Rolanda show at the time
- 12:34Speaker 1: with the young lady I was dating and Professor my
- 12:37Speaker 1: love for her because I thought going on Rolanda show uh,
- 12:40Speaker 1: and and being on there, she was gonna be like, Oh,
- 12:42Speaker 1: he's the one, we gotta give him a talk show next.
- 12:46Speaker 1: It didn't happen, um and so uh. But once I
- 12:49Speaker 1: once I left school and started working professional in the business,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and you know, my first act was that of an
- 12:54Speaker 1: entertainment news writer and one of the first interviews I
- 12:56Speaker 1: actually did was with Rolando Watts. I went to l
- 13:00Speaker 1: l a h to the Soul Trade Awards as a
- 13:02Speaker 1: guest of Coca Cola at the time, and went to
- 13:05Speaker 1: this restaurant with my mentor, the legendary media personality Tanya
- 13:08Speaker 1: Heart and her husband, and Rolanda came and stopped by
- 13:11Speaker 1: the restaurant to say hello to me, to meet me
- 13:12Speaker 1: in person. And so she as someone who I was
- 13:16Speaker 1: a fan of, who I aspired to have a morsel
- 13:20Speaker 1: of the success that she had in the business, and
- 13:21Speaker 1: then someone at one point that I ultimately became friends with.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And so when we were mapping out uh and shaping
- 13:30Speaker 1: what we wanted to share the show to be, we
- 13:32Speaker 1: were talking about voices and voiceover. There were several people
- 13:35Speaker 1: we were looking at and Sherry looked at me one
- 13:37Speaker 1: day and said, I've always loved the uniqueness and the
- 13:39Speaker 1: richness of Rolanda's voice, and that's what I want to
- 13:42Speaker 1: hear right before I walked through the door. And so
- 13:44Speaker 1: to not only have roland to be the voice of
- 13:46Speaker 1: our show, but to have her come and sit in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the audience on our premiere episode, it really was a
- 13:52Speaker 1: full circle moment for me because I went from sitting
- 13:55Speaker 1: in the audience of her talk show as a high
- 13:57Speaker 1: school kid to her being in the show that I'm
- 13:59Speaker 1: executive producing alongside Sherry Shepherd, And it really was a
- 14:04Speaker 1: truth full circle moment. Now we say the worries that
- 14:06Speaker 1: could produce it, We're gonna talk about that in a minute.
- 14:09Speaker 1: But sometimes I see your face. You're a handsome face
- 14:13Speaker 1: on TV comments. So so when you say Roshan, when
- 14:16Speaker 1: I graduated from Norfolk, I went up to Rlanda, I'll
- 14:20Speaker 1: try to be I talk to your host. I'm not
- 14:22Speaker 1: saying you talk to your host, but you make an
- 14:24Speaker 1: appearances on the successful talk to your job. Talk about
- 14:27Speaker 1: how that from from a creative standpoint, how did that
- 14:31Speaker 1: come about it? Because it's very effective. Thank you, Richard,
- 14:34Speaker 1: you listen. I grew up wanting to be like the
- 14:36Speaker 1: Black Regions film and Black Tom bergeron I love guys
- 14:40Speaker 1: like our cineo and this opportunity has almost made like
- 14:44Speaker 1: the Black Gilman. And anybody who watched Regis and Kathy
- 14:47Speaker 1: Lee or Ryan and Kelly, you know that they have
- 14:49Speaker 1: an executive producer who sometimes appears on camera or if
- 14:52Speaker 1: you of a generation older than me, clearly you remember
- 14:56Speaker 1: maybe like Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon, you know. And
- 14:59Speaker 1: so yes, I've been wrangled into the on camera executive
- 15:04Speaker 1: producer role and it's great. You know. Again, one of
- 15:07Speaker 1: the things that really work, particularly in the daytime space
- 15:10Speaker 1: for Sean and you know this is that authentic chemistry works,
- 15:14Speaker 1: you know, and the fact that Sherry and I have
- 15:16Speaker 1: a real life relationship in addition to our working relationship,
- 15:20Speaker 1: it resonates with people on camera. And so she was
- 15:23Speaker 1: just telling me the conversation the other day that one
- 15:25Speaker 1: of the things that she loves to hear about is
- 15:27Speaker 1: people just love to hear us have our moments on camera,
- 15:30Speaker 1: you know, and that we are able to thread our
- 15:34Speaker 1: real life experiences into some of these wonky and funny
- 15:38Speaker 1: and hilarious stories. You know, sometimes I'm teasing her as
- 15:42Speaker 1: we're talking about something that man have to do with divorce.
- 15:44Speaker 1: You know, I didn't want her to marry that that
- 15:46Speaker 1: second knucklehead. Or or sometimes because Sherry is like a
- 15:50Speaker 1: real life I love Lucy. She forgets a factoid or
- 15:53Speaker 1: something and a story or something that she's talking about,
- 15:56Speaker 1: and because I'm like this top culture enthusiasts, I'm able
- 15:58Speaker 1: to fill in the blank and help her continue the journey.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So man, it's it's it's really a beautiful thing. It's
- 16:04Speaker 1: a magical thing. But more than anything, this is an
- 16:06Speaker 1: authentic presentation of how we are in real life. We'll
- 16:09Speaker 1: be right back with more Money Making Conversations Masterclass with
- 16:13Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald. Now, let's return to Money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 16:21Speaker 1: with Rashan McDonald. Or you know, I was fortunate to
- 16:24Speaker 1: be an executive producer of a successful daytime talk and
- 16:28Speaker 1: I'm a black man, and I'm always happy to hear
- 16:32Speaker 1: our black sisters being executive producers of these shows, these
- 16:35Speaker 1: news programs, but rarely do we see black men being
- 16:40Speaker 1: in this capacity because there's daytime talk, and daytime talk
- 16:43Speaker 1: supposed to be focused on women, so we generally not
- 16:45Speaker 1: looked upon of having the proper voice, especially because we're
- 16:48Speaker 1: African American that will relate to the white soccer mom
- 16:51Speaker 1: who's fifty one years old in the Midwest, you being
- 16:54Speaker 1: our tern. Banks was on the show, and I was
- 16:56Speaker 1: actually up there when she was taking that particular episode
- 16:59Speaker 1: talking about black men executive ducing, and that really meant
- 17:02Speaker 1: something to you, it did it did? Rachan. Let me
- 17:06Speaker 1: tell you, um that that was really special because I
- 17:09Speaker 1: had never met really Tyra Banks before. Um. I think
- 17:11Speaker 1: I saw her in passing sometime won't but we've never
- 17:13Speaker 1: had a moment. And so before our show, both Sherry
- 17:16Speaker 1: and I individually go up and we greet our guests
- 17:18Speaker 1: and we welcome them, uh, you know, to our home.
- 17:21Speaker 1: And it really sets the tone for people's experience at
- 17:24Speaker 1: the show, um, because you know, they feel safe, they
- 17:26Speaker 1: know that they're coming to a place that there's no
- 17:29Speaker 1: gotcha moments and we're not ambushing anybody, like come and
- 17:32Speaker 1: have a good time with us. And so I went
- 17:34Speaker 1: up to me to greet Tyra Banks. And you know,
- 17:36Speaker 1: one of our producers here at Sherry used to be
- 17:38Speaker 1: her personal assistant, and Tyra Banks has shot her talk
- 17:41Speaker 1: show in the very same studio that we're in right now.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And so this producer, who has his own office now,
- 17:47Speaker 1: used to work inside of the dressing room where Sherry's
- 17:51Speaker 1: dressing women is. And so Tyra's I'm telling Tyra, did
- 17:54Speaker 1: you do you know your former producer Joe Colo Sante
- 17:56Speaker 1: is uh, your former assistant Joe was a producer here.
- 17:59Speaker 1: She had no ideas, so she had me go get
- 18:01Speaker 1: Joe so she could see him. And and so by
- 18:04Speaker 1: the time they had had their moment and we got
- 18:06Speaker 1: down and take these the segments for the show. After
- 18:09Speaker 1: Tyra's second segment, she asked me because she gave me
- 18:12Speaker 1: a hug, and I said absolutely, And she says, I
- 18:14Speaker 1: just have to tell you seeing you here inspires me.
- 18:18Speaker 1: She says, because when I was doing this, there weren't
- 18:20Speaker 1: blackmail executive producers. And she said, my manager at the
- 18:23Speaker 1: time as a black man, and he got the executive
- 18:26Speaker 1: producer credit, but he wasn't actually doing the work. They
- 18:28Speaker 1: tell me, you're actually doing the work, and I want
- 18:31Speaker 1: to say that you keep doing it because I'm inspired
- 18:34Speaker 1: at seeing you here. Man. It touched me because the
- 18:37Speaker 1: truth of the matter is, there have not been a
- 18:39Speaker 1: lot of us for Shan you know, you worked in
- 18:41Speaker 1: the space. You know, Twitch became an executive producer at
- 18:44Speaker 1: Ellen and that's a good brother there. He reached out
- 18:47Speaker 1: to me and and was so supportive when I was
- 18:49Speaker 1: going through my journey. Um, and you know, and they've
- 18:52Speaker 1: been one or two others in the space, but they're
- 18:54Speaker 1: few and far between. And you know, not only had
- 18:57Speaker 1: what tyres has to be meant a lot, but um
- 19:00Speaker 1: Heather Gray, who was the executive producer in the Showrun
- 19:02Speaker 1: at the Talk, who passed this summer uh past, three
- 19:05Speaker 1: days before we were supposed to meet in person, because
- 19:07Speaker 1: over the last year she and I had become fast friends,
- 19:10Speaker 1: and once this opportunity presented itself, she was one of
- 19:13Speaker 1: the people who was there with me at every turn,
- 19:17Speaker 1: encouraging me, coaching me, giving me insight on my journey.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I also got to acknowledge the great Bill Getty, who
- 19:24Speaker 1: helped create the View with Barbara Walters. He was so
- 19:27Speaker 1: wonderful to me while I was going through my negotiations
- 19:30Speaker 1: and taking this pivot with Sherry to make sure I
- 19:32Speaker 1: was in power with information and tools and knowledge that
- 19:35Speaker 1: I needed to be effective in this space. And when
- 19:38Speaker 1: we're all stepping into a new area. You know, we
- 19:42Speaker 1: all need community. You know, sometimes people like to hold
- 19:45Speaker 1: stuff close to invest and we'd like to move in secrecy.
- 19:48Speaker 1: And it's great to be discreet about the things you
- 19:50Speaker 1: have going on, but sometimes you have to lean into
- 19:52Speaker 1: the excellence that other people have and let them give
- 19:55Speaker 1: you a perspective that's going to sharpen your iron. And
- 19:58Speaker 1: I was grateful to have a community of that rolls
- 20:00Speaker 1: up for me because folks knew it was important for
- 20:03Speaker 1: me to be on this journey with Sherry, and it
- 20:05Speaker 1: was important for me to make a substantial impact doing
- 20:08Speaker 1: this work. Which is really important for you for me
- 20:10Speaker 1: to hear come out from your voice, because in the
- 20:12Speaker 1: sense that you know you're doing things, Sherry is your
- 20:15Speaker 1: corner stone. John talking to John Murrady exact one of
- 20:18Speaker 1: the exact producers of the the show that their hit series.
- 20:21Speaker 1: You know, because when you see these ratings, you you
- 20:23Speaker 1: don't know, John, You know, all you do is just
- 20:25Speaker 1: work hard, work hard, work hard. You don't know what
- 20:27Speaker 1: American is gonna say. You know, you had Jennifer Hudson
- 20:30Speaker 1: popping out there. You know, you know you're doing You
- 20:33Speaker 1: don't know if people is perceiving you or in the
- 20:36Speaker 1: animosity and the negative takeover for wendy' all. Y'all been
- 20:40Speaker 1: doing this good spirit and stuff, but you know you're
- 20:43Speaker 1: doing auncensored. You're about to do a moderating the uh,
- 20:47Speaker 1: your moderator for the Lewis Cards, the Blueprint Men summer
- 20:51Speaker 1: in Chicago coming up this month. When you're doing these
- 20:53Speaker 1: things outside, how are people reacted to you? Mr Murray? Well,
- 20:58Speaker 1: you know what, Sean want. One of the blessings that
- 21:00Speaker 1: I had before going on this journey with Sherry was that, uh,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I was like a road mc man. I was always
- 21:06Speaker 1: on the weekend hosting events, holding the microphone on a
- 21:11Speaker 1: plane in the hotel, and I really loved it. It
- 21:13Speaker 1: was you know, it was the thing that was my
- 21:15Speaker 1: constant in between the inconsistency of the TV world. Um,
- 21:20Speaker 1: what I'm grateful about is a lot of that is
- 21:23Speaker 1: being enhanced now that that I'm on this journey with Sherry,
- 21:25Speaker 1: because because I'm one of a few people who are
- 21:29Speaker 1: thriving in the space where black men haven't had great success.
- 21:33Speaker 1: You know, we are few and far between. Um, people
- 21:36Speaker 1: want to want to hear about that, They want to
- 21:38Speaker 1: learn about that, and um, you know, and I'm open
- 21:42Speaker 1: to sharing and encouraging and inspiring. So it's great to
- 21:45Speaker 1: be able to move back in some of the same
- 21:47Speaker 1: space as I've already had success in with this, with
- 21:51Speaker 1: this new victory under my belt, you know, I'm excited
- 21:54Speaker 1: to go to Chicago and do this, uh, the summit
- 21:56Speaker 1: with Lewis Carr, because the truth of the matter is,
- 21:59Speaker 1: they're not a lot of spaces where uh safe places
- 22:03Speaker 1: where black men can find a refuge in community with
- 22:06Speaker 1: each other. Like if you didn't pledge one of the
- 22:09Speaker 1: HBCU Greek Letter fraternities, Um, you don't necessarily unless you
- 22:14Speaker 1: grew up in a house full of brothers. There are
- 22:16Speaker 1: always places that once you reach a certain level of
- 22:19Speaker 1: success or you're thriving in a particular area professionally, that
- 22:24Speaker 1: that you can find safety and refuge with each other,
- 22:27Speaker 1: you know. And so I'm grateful to be going to
- 22:29Speaker 1: a place that it was a summit built just around
- 22:33Speaker 1: this men finding black men finding success in their respective
- 22:39Speaker 1: genres coming together for an informative, empowering and informational two
- 22:44Speaker 1: day summit. I mean, I'm grateful that both Lewis and
- 22:48Speaker 1: Nicole Pittman, who works with him on it. I thought
- 22:50Speaker 1: enough of me to invite me long before the show premiered,
- 22:54Speaker 1: to come in and play a part in this. And
- 22:56Speaker 1: so I'm in a place, uh Shaun, and you know
- 23:00Speaker 1: this journey because you've done it yourself. That not only
- 23:03Speaker 1: am I helping to shape great content for the masses
- 23:07Speaker 1: to have, but one of the things that most excites
- 23:09Speaker 1: me is that there are some other people who have
- 23:12Speaker 1: been working in this business, great talent who've been on
- 23:14Speaker 1: the sidelines, experts in various fields, underdog un some talent
- 23:20Speaker 1: that we've been able to put in the game, that
- 23:22Speaker 1: we've been able to give opportunity to, that we've been
- 23:24Speaker 1: able to give a platform to shine. And that's one
- 23:27Speaker 1: of the things that means more than me than anything,
- 23:29Speaker 1: taking a chance on people who can maximize this opportunity
- 23:33Speaker 1: and use it to do some other great things. You know,
- 23:36Speaker 1: Cherry always talks about chef Melbourne Wilson, who if you've
- 23:39Speaker 1: ever come to New York City, everybody goes up to
- 23:41Speaker 1: Melbourne and Harlem um. But Melbourne has become a dynamic
- 23:44Speaker 1: TV chef. She's had such great success her philanthropic work.
- 23:49Speaker 1: But we had her join us a few times when
- 23:52Speaker 1: Sherry was guest hosting for Wendy Williams, and not that
- 23:55Speaker 1: that opportunity contributed to her next blessing, but shortly thereafter
- 24:00Speaker 1: she got called in two guest hosts with Ryan Seacrest
- 24:04Speaker 1: on Live with Kelly and Ryan, which is the number
- 24:06Speaker 1: one show and all of the daytime nobody else does,
- 24:10Speaker 1: I mean outside of the View, but they are the
- 24:12Speaker 1: number one show in syndication, which the view as a
- 24:14Speaker 1: network TV show. But for Melbour as a black woman
- 24:17Speaker 1: to be able to go and have that opportunity after
- 24:20Speaker 1: coming and and and helping cooking up a little bit
- 24:22Speaker 1: of magic with us, that's what we wanna do, man,
- 24:24Speaker 1: We wanna we wanna help shine a light on people
- 24:27Speaker 1: who need brighter lights shine on them. For sure. I've
- 24:29Speaker 1: always enjoyed your personnel. I've always enjoyed it, your mind.
- 24:32Speaker 1: You're smart, very very smart, very informed, and never and
- 24:36Speaker 1: your personnel is always engaging. I never felt like you
- 24:39Speaker 1: know a lot of people are can feeled. They cover
- 24:41Speaker 1: our men who are successful and feel challenged or feel insecure.
- 24:45Speaker 1: You never shined that light of like, in other words,
- 24:50Speaker 1: you got your place in the room. You're cool with it.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Just let me do my thing. If it expands a
- 24:54Speaker 1: little bit, don't get nervous. I'm just doing my thing
- 24:56Speaker 1: that it's called competition. It's called competition. But did you
- 25:00Speaker 1: come through this whole world? I've seen your journey for
- 25:03Speaker 1: a long time. If you could point out one person
- 25:05Speaker 1: that may have been instrumental in your entertainment arc, who
- 25:09Speaker 1: would that be? Oh, you know, there's some there's actually
- 25:13Speaker 1: some really good people that have helped me a lot.
- 25:16Speaker 1: You know, I talked about meeting my mentor the living
- 25:18Speaker 1: legend media personality, taying your heart. But I often celebrate
- 25:22Speaker 1: how when I was a college kid, who so Sean,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I still look like a young man. But I'm in
- 25:28Speaker 1: my forties, so like I'm kind of in that in
- 25:31Speaker 1: between face, So like, yes, I'm in. I'm in the
- 25:34Speaker 1: streets and social media and you know, I'm popping. I'm
- 25:38Speaker 1: learning the legal all the twenties something. Your producers here
- 25:42Speaker 1: keeping me hip and stuff. I may dive my hair
- 25:46Speaker 1: every few weeks to make sure you grade come in
- 25:48Speaker 1: that type of day. But but I'm also of the
- 25:50Speaker 1: generation that, like I remember life before social media was
- 25:55Speaker 1: our everything, and before before al Gore's Internet was our everything,
- 26:00Speaker 1: and so I remember what it was like to have
- 26:02Speaker 1: to go to a convention and shake hands and take
- 26:05Speaker 1: a deep breath before you had to network and introduce
- 26:07Speaker 1: yourself to somebody. So I remember getting the number to
- 26:11Speaker 1: the E network UH from a phone book. I called
- 26:14Speaker 1: over to the network while I was a student at
- 26:17Speaker 1: Norfolk State University and I left a voicemail message for
- 26:20Speaker 1: a producer that was producing the show that Tanya Heart
- 26:23Speaker 1: was doing on E at the time. And she called
- 26:25Speaker 1: this young college student back and was like, the producer
- 26:28Speaker 1: called me and gave me your number, and I just
- 26:29Speaker 1: had to call and see who this ambitious young man
- 26:32Speaker 1: was that reached out to me and said he was
- 26:34Speaker 1: really inspired by my career. And Tanya sat on the
- 26:37Speaker 1: phone with a perfect stranger and a dorm run down
- 26:40Speaker 1: in North Virginia and talked to me for ninety minutes,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and at the end of that call, she said to me,
- 26:45Speaker 1: I can't wait to meet you in person. And if
- 26:47Speaker 1: forever there's an opportunity where you're applying for a job,
- 26:51Speaker 1: just put my company on your resume and say you're
- 26:53Speaker 1: one of my East Coast contributors. And just having somebody
- 26:58Speaker 1: take a chance on me like that unseen really helped,
- 27:01Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And then, Uh, there's a
- 27:04Speaker 1: personality on Serious XM's Heart and Soul. Her name is
- 27:07Speaker 1: Michelle Wright. I was an intern at the radio station
- 27:10Speaker 1: in Washington, d C. And Michelle saw this ambitious, hungry
- 27:15Speaker 1: intern and took me under her wing and had me
- 27:18Speaker 1: start to help produce content for her midday show. And
- 27:21Speaker 1: when I went back to college that fall, Michelle started
- 27:24Speaker 1: paying me out of her pocket and sending me a
- 27:27Speaker 1: stipend to help create this content for her for her
- 27:30Speaker 1: midday show. So she was technically my first boss in
- 27:33Speaker 1: the business because she's the first person that ever paid
- 27:36Speaker 1: me to do work in the entertainment industry. So both
- 27:38Speaker 1: of those women are two women that have been very
- 27:40Speaker 1: pivotal and very key in my success, and they've been
- 27:43Speaker 1: so many other great people. I mean, listen, Rochelle, there
- 27:45Speaker 1: were times when I was being I was being tested
- 27:47Speaker 1: for a game show and I called you and you
- 27:49Speaker 1: really walked me through the nuances and the house and
- 27:53Speaker 1: the how nots and you know what to do and
- 27:55Speaker 1: what not to do. Is while I was on that journey,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and then you were talking earlier about like owning my space,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and and and not feeling competitive with other people. And
- 28:05Speaker 1: I have to say, my big brother, Roller Martin said
- 28:07Speaker 1: something to me years ago that always stuck with me.
- 28:09Speaker 1: He was like cat nobody out rolling Roller Martin, and
- 28:12Speaker 1: he was like, you know, I'm gonna beat me, and
- 28:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna beat me unapologetically. And the reason why I
- 28:18Speaker 1: never get intimidated by any of my peers is I
- 28:21Speaker 1: know when I show up, whether it's John the personality,
- 28:25Speaker 1: you know, the TV talent, the host, or whether it's
- 28:27Speaker 1: John the producer, John the brains, John the strategist, John
- 28:31Speaker 1: the visionary, the creative, I know that I bring my
- 28:35Speaker 1: best self to all of those situations. And if for
- 28:38Speaker 1: some reason people like what you do different than I do,
- 28:41Speaker 1: the that's your blessing, that's not mine. So I've never
- 28:44Speaker 1: been nervous or intimidated by it by being embody else's
- 28:47Speaker 1: spaces because you came out John John Murray, you know.
- 28:51Speaker 1: And so that was one of the gifts that Roland
- 28:53Speaker 1: Martin got me, and it really helped shape my approcedes
- 28:57Speaker 1: because we can't slip into accidental compare editiveness. We can't
- 29:00Speaker 1: slip into these toxic behaviors of wanting or emulating or
- 29:06Speaker 1: desiring what we see other people have. But the other
- 29:09Speaker 1: thing that I've learned through trial and there is prison.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I don't know the story behind your glory, and so
- 29:15Speaker 1: it looks good on the outside, but I might not
- 29:17Speaker 1: want to go through the sleepless nights and the crying
- 29:20Speaker 1: morments and and the bankruptcies are whatever other things you
- 29:24Speaker 1: had to go through to become excellence that you are.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't. I may not want to go through all that.
- 29:29Speaker 1: So finding my own path and my own journey is
- 29:32Speaker 1: the best path for me because the struggles and the
- 29:34Speaker 1: obstacles that I've had to face to get to this point,
- 29:38Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to share those with anybody else, And
- 29:40Speaker 1: you don't want to share yours with me, you know.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I tell you you can't out John John Merrin. You
- 29:46Speaker 1: need to put that on the on the wall because
- 29:49Speaker 1: that that fits you. You can't. That's beautiful. And I
- 29:52Speaker 1: know Rolling Mart so I know he's he is the truth.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And I remember when he left the TV one when
- 29:58Speaker 1: you show got cancer and he talked to me, reached
- 30:00Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do? I said, won't you just start
- 30:01Speaker 1: doing your show on YouTube? He said, how? I said,
- 30:04Speaker 1: what you just take control of your narrative. Sometimes all
- 30:06Speaker 1: you gotta do is self tells somebody something and they
- 30:09Speaker 1: hear it and guess what. He's been controlling this narrative.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And the only person can cancel rolling is rolling. That's
- 30:16Speaker 1: the beauty of him living his life now, highly successful,
- 30:20Speaker 1: thousands of subscribers, generating revenue, revenue for him personally, all
- 30:25Speaker 1: he has to do is produce content. But my friend,
- 30:27Speaker 1: and I call you my friend because coming up in
- 30:30Speaker 1: New York and seeing you and Sherry, you executive beducing
- 30:33Speaker 1: you all from your all phones aside talking to her
- 30:36Speaker 1: on I love y'all, man, I love you as a
- 30:38Speaker 1: as a young man who is doing something very inspirational
- 30:42Speaker 1: in his business. Is your time? Is your time? And
- 30:44Speaker 1: social media? Continue to speak, continue to carry that that trophy,
- 30:49Speaker 1: that trophy of honesty, that trophy of being able to
- 30:52Speaker 1: get it done because you can't. John, John Merry, thank
- 30:56Speaker 1: you for coming to money making conversation on my way out.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Though if you really loved me, you send me one
- 31:01Speaker 1: of those cakes you'd be baking now. I'm tired of
- 31:04Speaker 1: seeing this good food and not tasting any ovens. Okay,
- 31:07Speaker 1: you know when I was up there, John, You said, Rohane,
- 31:09Speaker 1: we're gonna bring you on the show a cook. If
- 31:12Speaker 1: I got to book you to eat your cake, that
- 31:16Speaker 1: didn't translate. Well, if I got to book you to
- 31:18Speaker 1: eat some of your good food, then we're gonna that's
- 31:21Speaker 1: what we're gonna make. Absolutely But brother, I love your brother.
- 31:23Speaker 1: We talked soon to tell Sherry High. Okay, they're gonna
- 31:27Speaker 1: come to make Conversation Masterclasses John. Because you get out John,
- 31:30Speaker 1: John Ryder of Sherry, We'll be right back with more

- 31:48Speaker 1: Masterclass with your daily minute of Inspiration. Recently I spoke
- 31:52Speaker 1: with the CEO of Diverse Media and the author of
- 31:54Speaker 1: On Impact, Life Leadership and Betting on Yourself Being EP.
- 31:58Speaker 1: He explains how I dinner find your strategy and goals
- 32:01Speaker 1: can help you on your path to success. Entering into
- 32:04Speaker 1: the music business, I realized there were no salt and
- 32:06Speaker 1: pepper hair black men walking in the buildings. That's when
- 32:09Speaker 1: I decided on two plan eights My first plan A
- 32:12Speaker 1: was this corporate job which actually paid exponentially, but knowing
- 32:15Speaker 1: that this would not be my retirement because there was
- 32:18Speaker 1: no one in their mid fifties late sixties. So that's
- 32:22Speaker 1: when I invested in real estate. So every bonus I
- 32:25Speaker 1: made went to purchasing a piece of property. That's what
- 32:27Speaker 1: I said was going to be important for me being
- 32:30Speaker 1: blessed in an opportunity to make the living that I
- 32:33Speaker 1: was I was doing. Listen to this four interview would
- 32:36Speaker 1: being repute. It's available on money Making Conversations dot com.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Now let's return to Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald.
- 32:45Speaker 1: My guest is Dr Cole Robert Jones, veteran of the industry,
- 32:49Speaker 1: more more important, a veteran of the entertainment industry. The
- 32:52Speaker 1: co working their talent management and casting before shifting her
- 32:55Speaker 1: talents to help others bank roll their brilliance. That's why
- 32:59Speaker 1: I got your Money Making Conversation. She had to worry
- 33:02Speaker 1: bankroll already, So we're started in the right direction with
- 33:05Speaker 1: the Code. The Code now works with entrepreneurs to create
- 33:09Speaker 1: multiple strenge of income, which we love hearing about on
- 33:11Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation master Class. For what they already know
- 33:14Speaker 1: to build an empire from their own expertise and especially
- 33:18Speaker 1: their brilliance. Addiently, she provides training and development to corporations
- 33:23Speaker 1: to raise employee engagement and retention. The military need to
- 33:26Speaker 1: be talking to her, please working to money, money making
- 33:29Speaker 1: Conversations Master Class and one and only Dr Nicole Roberts Jones.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Yea excited to be here. Thank you for having me. Well,
- 33:36Speaker 1: first of all, thank you for taking the time to
- 33:37Speaker 1: come on my show again. Um, because I I kind
- 33:42Speaker 1: of jokingly said that about you know when you said
- 33:45Speaker 1: that corporations, you know, raising employment engagement, employee engagement and retention,
- 33:51Speaker 1: and the military has the problem. Have you positioned yourself
- 33:55Speaker 1: they be talked to the military or has the military
- 33:58Speaker 1: approached you because that's all said. They know they need
- 34:01Speaker 1: especially creating recruitment, engagement and then also retention because uh
- 34:07Speaker 1: wwise to camp. You know, the military recruitment has always
- 34:11Speaker 1: receiving another lot of negative backlash. They're not meeting there,
- 34:14Speaker 1: the number of which will become dangerous here pretty soon.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Talk to So all right, so what's funny is I
- 34:19Speaker 1: have government as my number one goal for three so
- 34:22Speaker 1: you just speaking the prophecying over there. So yes, I
- 34:26Speaker 1: have as my goal to because here's one thing I know,
- 34:28Speaker 1: ra Sean is no matter what you do, your purpose
- 34:31Speaker 1: is of one thing you never get fired from. So
- 34:33Speaker 1: you gotta a line that with your work, not only
- 34:35Speaker 1: will you love it, but you're overperformed everybody else. So yes,
- 34:38Speaker 1: definitely I'm looking into more government because, like I said,
- 34:42Speaker 1: that's the world, and I'm really talking about that military side,
- 34:45Speaker 1: you know, the army, the neighbor, all of all those
- 34:48Speaker 1: little closely always said because of the fact that you know,
- 34:51Speaker 1: you know, it's like the police. You complain about the
- 34:54Speaker 1: police team just dibnine one one, okay, you complain about
- 34:57Speaker 1: the army, you said, who's protecting our borders? Okay? So
- 35:01Speaker 1: that means that there are people out there that we
- 35:02Speaker 1: need to be able to position to do those things.
- 35:05Speaker 1: And let's go back to a little bit because I
- 35:08Speaker 1: love the fact that you do now because you've always
- 35:11Speaker 1: been a person that has you know, sought out talent,
- 35:14Speaker 1: had an eye for talent in your casting days, let's
- 35:16Speaker 1: talk about that because being a person that we didn't
- 35:19Speaker 1: for auditions, who mailed his head chat in trying to
- 35:22Speaker 1: get cast, that was always an annoying part of my life.
- 35:25Speaker 1: What were you looking for in that genre when you
- 35:28Speaker 1: was talking when you was when you was doing talent
- 35:30Speaker 1: management and also casting. You know It's interesting, is I've
- 35:34Speaker 1: always been since I was four or five years old,
- 35:36Speaker 1: someone that could see people's natural talent. And my friends
- 35:39Speaker 1: called it bossy back then, and I would like make
- 35:41Speaker 1: suggestions of what you should do. So when I worked
- 35:44Speaker 1: in TV and film, the thing that was easy for
- 35:47Speaker 1: me is when you came in for an audition, I
- 35:49Speaker 1: could see you, so I can look past where you
- 35:51Speaker 1: could act or not. That was a whole a noother conversation.
- 35:53Speaker 1: I could see you and how you could fit into
- 35:55Speaker 1: the script. Acting is you know, you have to be
- 35:58Speaker 1: able to act to do that piece, but on just
- 36:00Speaker 1: that I had to be able to see you inside
- 36:03Speaker 1: of that role. So I think that was my gift,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and that's really what I do when entrepreneurs now is
- 36:08Speaker 1: being able to see or even corporate executives being able
- 36:10Speaker 1: to see who you be I have that aligns with
- 36:13Speaker 1: the work that you should do because sometimes people going
- 36:17Speaker 1: from one role and you know your fit bet over here,
- 36:20Speaker 1: M and so and so that's important when sometimes in
- 36:25Speaker 1: jobs that you do. You might be doing this job,
- 36:28Speaker 1: but they may not be your strength. How do you
- 36:30Speaker 1: break down the people the reality of what they gift
- 36:33Speaker 1: really is versus what they want to do? Hm? Hm,
- 36:36Speaker 1: that's so good. So I think many of us grow
- 36:38Speaker 1: up in culture where we make lists, right, I want
- 36:42Speaker 1: two point five kids, I want to have this house.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna work in this career. But we don't stop
- 36:46Speaker 1: long enough to tap into our soul and we really
- 36:49Speaker 1: understand who we be at our core. So it's really
- 36:52Speaker 1: looking beyond what the world says, what perception says, and
- 36:55Speaker 1: the list that we make to really get to know
- 36:57Speaker 1: yourself on a deeper level. I think when I'm meets
- 37:00Speaker 1: many people, it's not even that your original list isn't
- 37:03Speaker 1: an alignment with what you're great at. It maybe that
- 37:05Speaker 1: you just have outgrown that place like that, and so
- 37:08Speaker 1: it's really going to that next level. You know. Oftentimes
- 37:11Speaker 1: I say God doesn't rumble you up because he's like,
- 37:14Speaker 1: okay with where you are. He's looking for who you
- 37:16Speaker 1: have not yet come And it's in that place that
- 37:19Speaker 1: we've got to do the work to move to your
- 37:20Speaker 1: next you know, what I always talk about on this
- 37:22Speaker 1: show A lot of people. You know, it's an entrepreneur show,
- 37:25Speaker 1: really is a show about life because you know I
- 37:28Speaker 1: talk about the relationships. That's what this show is about.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Because if you don't have poor community, you have poor
- 37:33Speaker 1: communication and relationship. You don't have a relationship. Same thing
- 37:35Speaker 1: that's your job, same thing as a business, don't same
- 37:38Speaker 1: thing as an entrepreneur. So do you take that global
- 37:42Speaker 1: perspective when you're talking to you to clients or talking
- 37:45Speaker 1: to people trying to motivate them, and realize that the
- 37:47Speaker 1: skill that you're giving them should be universal. M hm.
- 37:51Speaker 1: So really, to be honest with you, it's not even
- 37:55Speaker 1: about you. So when you think about what you do
- 37:57Speaker 1: for a living, it's about listen, profit where profit means gain.
- 38:02Speaker 1: So ultimately the goal is this, how are you gaining
- 38:05Speaker 1: for that person you If you're read about gaining for
- 38:07Speaker 1: your pocketbook, you're always gonna behind. And I'm not saying
- 38:09Speaker 1: don't make money, because we have money making conversations, but
- 38:12Speaker 1: if you can up level that and I understand that
- 38:14Speaker 1: when you bless somebody with the thing that you do,
- 38:16Speaker 1: their gaining and ultimately, when you do the thing that
- 38:19Speaker 1: you were born to do, your gaining for God because
- 38:22Speaker 1: what you're doing is moving in agenda forward as you
- 38:25Speaker 1: bless the people that need you. So it's bigger than
- 38:27Speaker 1: just a check. It's about what impact are you making
- 38:31Speaker 1: with the thing that you do. So I'm speaking to
- 38:33Speaker 1: Dr Dr Nicole and Robert Jones, and it's about when
- 38:37Speaker 1: I bring on the show. She has a lot of
- 38:40Speaker 1: natural instincts, and so we all have natural instincts, but
- 38:44Speaker 1: it's how you allow them to manifest themselves to your dreams,
- 38:48Speaker 1: you know, and when you start talking about multiple streams
- 38:51Speaker 1: of income, and that's I read that out in her credit.
- 38:54Speaker 1: You know, she always emphasized that can you explain to
- 38:56Speaker 1: people what exactly that is this in case they don't know. Um. So,
- 39:00Speaker 1: as an entrepreneur, if you're only working with your clients
- 39:04Speaker 1: and you have to be present, you already capping off
- 39:06Speaker 1: two things. Obviously, you know, I'm gonna say how much
- 39:08Speaker 1: money you make, but it's also how much transformation that
- 39:11Speaker 1: you're able to impact in this world. So when you
- 39:14Speaker 1: think about all the ways you can take your DNA,
- 39:17Speaker 1: your distinct natural ability and package it into multiple ways
- 39:20Speaker 1: you can serve people most of them, some of them,
- 39:25Speaker 1: I would say most, but some of them should be
- 39:26Speaker 1: what I call making money while you sleep. So right now,
- 39:28Speaker 1: somebody's going through one of my programs and I'm not there.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I'm here with you. You know. I've had clients in
- 39:32Speaker 1: Singapore and rub and listen Singapore a usually when I'm
- 39:35Speaker 1: sleep there awake, and vice versa. That means that they
- 39:38Speaker 1: were going through a program or they were going through
- 39:41Speaker 1: one of my programs online and I wasn't present. So
- 39:44Speaker 1: when you look at all the ways that I think,
- 39:45Speaker 1: if I give you a concrete example, um, a lawyer
- 39:49Speaker 1: that I work with before, and most lawyers think and
- 39:52Speaker 1: this is replies to everybody that you know they have
- 39:54Speaker 1: to be present and or lawyer's like why can't give
- 39:57Speaker 1: legal advice? But there are a whole lot of things
- 39:59Speaker 1: that you know because you would do law school that
- 40:01Speaker 1: the typical person doesn't know. So the lawyer that I'm
- 40:04Speaker 1: thinking of in general or specifically, whether I should say,
- 40:07Speaker 1: is a family practice lawyer. And when I said to her,
- 40:10Speaker 1: what do people come to you for the most, and
- 40:11Speaker 1: she said divorce? I said, how many people do you
- 40:13Speaker 1: turn away because they can't afford you abillable hours? She said,
- 40:16Speaker 1: oh a lot. If you walk them through how to
- 40:19Speaker 1: fill out their own paperwork online. At least they would
- 40:22Speaker 1: get something. It's better than nothing. And then you also
- 40:26Speaker 1: get something in return. It's called money in your revenue
- 40:28Speaker 1: in your business. So looking at all the ways that
- 40:30Speaker 1: you're leaving transformation behind because you're only looking one dimensionally
- 40:34Speaker 1: at your gift. You know, I think that I call
- 40:36Speaker 1: the mailbox money. You know you open the mailbox, lord chick,
- 40:42Speaker 1: that's mail box money. That some people used terminology you
- 40:47Speaker 1: know money, But are you sleep which is another terminology.
- 40:50Speaker 1: The bottom line is that if you are physically tied
- 40:54Speaker 1: to the money that you make, that means that you
- 40:56Speaker 1: are physically tied to that, which means that you can't
- 40:59Speaker 1: get sick, which means that you have to worry about
- 41:01Speaker 1: days off, which means you have to worry about vacation,
- 41:04Speaker 1: which you have to worry and not saying that mailbox
- 41:07Speaker 1: money prevents that from happening. But guess what if you
- 41:10Speaker 1: got another job and you get mailbox money, and you
- 41:12Speaker 1: got another job and you making money while you sleep.
- 41:15Speaker 1: That determines the level of conversation. What was saying multiple
- 41:19Speaker 1: streams of income? Yeah, I never give you another example
- 41:22Speaker 1: of you don't mind because some people think this doesn't
- 41:24Speaker 1: apply to them. I had a woman who was a gymnast.
- 41:27Speaker 1: They used to train kids. Now when I met her,
- 41:29Speaker 1: she was in the authorities, and I said to her,
- 41:31Speaker 1: how much more are you gonna be able to flip?
- 41:32Speaker 1: Let's keep it all the way real, so in a minute,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you're not gonna even getting the floor flip. How do
- 41:36Speaker 1: you gonna make money? She was silent. I said, so
- 41:38Speaker 1: what you need to realize now is how do you
- 41:40Speaker 1: shift it now before it's too late. And what she
- 41:43Speaker 1: said to me was because, of course, I suggested that
- 41:45Speaker 1: you hire other people teach some of your methodology, and
- 41:47Speaker 1: you can have other people teaching it. She said, well,
- 41:49Speaker 1: if somebody might steal it, I said, girl, do you
- 41:51Speaker 1: know what the lawyer is Number one? Number two? Why
- 41:54Speaker 1: don't you buy the gym that you're doing this stuff
- 41:56Speaker 1: in so that you can use it more than just
- 41:58Speaker 1: your classes. You can rent it out, rint off for
- 42:00Speaker 1: parties and so. So it's really thinking outside of the
- 42:03Speaker 1: box to all the other revenue opportunities that are available
- 42:06Speaker 1: to you instead of just again, think about it in
- 42:08Speaker 1: one way. Now, you're so funny just changing with Dr
- 42:12Speaker 1: col Robert jon You know if you gotta watch her
- 42:16Speaker 1: listening to her as cool. You gotta watch her. She
- 42:18Speaker 1: is so expressive. She's one of the people where I
- 42:21Speaker 1: wish I had known that in college she would have
- 42:23Speaker 1: been a who because she's really you can just come out.
- 42:30Speaker 1: You see the words come out of them out you
- 42:31Speaker 1: see him. You know you see him, and they like,
- 42:34Speaker 1: they like getting you like. She has something to say.
- 42:37Speaker 1: And that's why I love talking about which means that
- 42:39Speaker 1: that's why she's so successful, because in fact, she's very expressive.
- 42:43Speaker 1: But if there's a conversation that allows you to believe
- 42:46Speaker 1: that that that can be part of your DNA. Now,
- 42:49Speaker 1: when we're talking about people who are afraid to create
- 42:54Speaker 1: change in their life, create change in their relationships, I
- 42:56Speaker 1: always keep going back to relationship because a lot of people,
- 42:58Speaker 1: when I can talk talking about create change, start talking
- 43:00Speaker 1: about job, talking about fear. There are people out there
- 43:03Speaker 1: in relationship right now they don't want to be in,
- 43:05Speaker 1: but they're afraid to make change. There are people out
- 43:07Speaker 1: there working jobs for the hours a week. They don't
- 43:09Speaker 1: want to let. People out there got a hamburger sitting
- 43:11Speaker 1: on their shaf No, it's no good, but they're afraid
- 43:14Speaker 1: to make change. I was talking to this company. They
- 43:16Speaker 1: brought me in. They had me sample all their food.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I told him what I didn't like about it, because
- 43:20Speaker 1: everybody knows them a food. I said, I hate your fries.
- 43:22Speaker 1: I said, I'm a fried person. Change. Oh no, our
- 43:25Speaker 1: customers love those fries. But are they what customers? Is
- 43:29Speaker 1: it a bunch of customers or just the customers who
- 43:31Speaker 1: come to that. You're trying to get to the bunch
- 43:33Speaker 1: of customers. Now, for a bunch of customers like that,
- 43:36Speaker 1: Rishan has nothing to say. But if just a few
- 43:38Speaker 1: people like those fries and you're trying to get to
- 43:40Speaker 1: a bunch, change those fries. So that's the conversations you're
- 43:44Speaker 1: You're holing into people all the time. People are resistant
- 43:47Speaker 1: to change. Tell us about that. So you know, one
- 43:50Speaker 1: of the things that I always say is your comfort
- 43:52Speaker 1: zone is where your dreams go to die. Because what
- 43:55Speaker 1: happens is when you're trying to stay comfortable. That means,
- 43:59Speaker 1: as my Auntie so always say, don't limit God's ability
- 44:01Speaker 1: to bless you because you can't see this other possibility
- 44:05Speaker 1: when faith Hebrews. Everyone says faith is a substance of things.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Hope for the evidence of things not seen. So you're
- 44:12Speaker 1: limiting what's possible by only by what you can see.
- 44:15Speaker 1: And when God is wanting something inside of you, it's
- 44:17Speaker 1: always gonna be bigger than what you say. I know
- 44:20Speaker 1: why I'm gonna get into the Bible. One of my
- 44:21Speaker 1: favorite Bible versus defictures three twenty is if God's gonna
- 44:25Speaker 1: do abundantly above all you could ask or think, if
- 44:28Speaker 1: it's bigger than what you've ever seen and what you
- 44:30Speaker 1: were thought of. Yeah, it's gonna be scary, but that's
- 44:33Speaker 1: what God does his best work, where we really completely
- 44:36Speaker 1: and totally on him and expand what's possible. That's my girl,
- 44:41Speaker 1: Dr Nope in the code Robert Jones. Now, now it's
- 44:43Speaker 1: time to my little this part of you. If you
- 44:46Speaker 1: far away from the from the microphone, from the radio,
- 44:49Speaker 1: the podcast, to get close. She's about to give us
- 44:52Speaker 1: some steps. Now again she tell us about your own
- 44:55Speaker 1: life classes before we get into the tips of the
- 44:58Speaker 1: bank rolling your brilliance. I'm sorry to tell you about
- 45:01Speaker 1: what your online classes that you offer so so well,
- 45:05Speaker 1: there's so many different kinds and here's the thing I
- 45:06Speaker 1: want you guys to get. Everybody is not a cookie
- 45:09Speaker 1: cutter everybody is different, so I said, I'd rather give
- 45:11Speaker 1: out a free gift. The free gift is my Bank
- 45:14Speaker 1: Will your Brains E book. And the reason I'm doing
- 45:16Speaker 1: this is because one it will allow you to see
- 45:18Speaker 1: where you are. But if you know me like you
- 45:20Speaker 1: think you might know me, you know, you can get
- 45:22Speaker 1: another email from me, which is also wait for your
- 45:24Speaker 1: ossess where you are. So the book is Bank for
- 45:27Speaker 1: All Your Brilliance book dot com and in that book
- 45:31Speaker 1: gives you fifteen ways to profit from your brilliance, your DNA,
- 45:35Speaker 1: your your genius. We'll be right back with more Money
- 45:38Speaker 1: Making Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. Now let's return to
- 45:46Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. Well, one of
- 45:51Speaker 1: the top ones that because my wife always tells me this.
- 45:55Speaker 1: She's she hear me on the phone talking to people.
- 45:57Speaker 1: You know, stop getting away your intellectual problem, ready for free.
- 46:01Speaker 1: And I always tell like clear, anybody do with me
- 46:06Speaker 1: and you know, and and and just as a stand
- 46:07Speaker 1: up comedy, I always go back to where our stand
- 46:09Speaker 1: up comedy because I used to know comedians, you know,
- 46:11Speaker 1: they wouldn't go on stage and do their best set
- 46:13Speaker 1: because they were afraid somebody might steal a joke. And
- 46:17Speaker 1: I've always been the mindset is that I'm not a
- 46:19Speaker 1: well that's gonna run dry, you know, I'm not only that,
- 46:23Speaker 1: but always say a second rate version of me is
- 46:25Speaker 1: never gonna come to the first right, come on now? So,
- 46:27Speaker 1: so when stop giving a where your intellectual property for free?
- 46:30Speaker 1: Tell us over that that's one of your tips how
- 46:32Speaker 1: to bank roll your brother? I'm missing the serious question?
- 46:34Speaker 1: Got you? So yes, So listen, we walk around overlooking
- 46:38Speaker 1: our brilliance, meaning that we think, oh, doesn't everybody know
- 46:41Speaker 1: how to do this? Oh? This is easy, so you
- 46:42Speaker 1: give away content, context, advice, and if I give you
- 46:46Speaker 1: a tangible Except I have a girlfriend that's a journalist
- 46:49Speaker 1: and she was talking about people call her and try,
- 46:51Speaker 1: you know, to ask how she got on TV. I said,
- 46:53Speaker 1: stop it. You know you're coaching people, right She said, oh, yeah,
- 46:56Speaker 1: you're giving away your cookie for free. So I need
- 46:59Speaker 1: you to stop doing that. And so she created a
- 47:00Speaker 1: whole on air academy. So it's really understanding how do
- 47:03Speaker 1: you not understanding? It's really seeing that you have value
- 47:08Speaker 1: that people will pay for. That makes a difference. Right, Well,
- 47:11Speaker 1: it's kind of interesting because I guess the level of
- 47:14Speaker 1: people that call me, because you know, they would probably
- 47:17Speaker 1: not be signing up for online class. Go who just
- 47:19Speaker 1: goes to I go? Well, I think just these some advice.
- 47:22Speaker 1: But I know that exactly, and I think maybe one
- 47:24Speaker 1: day I'll sit down with you, Dr Jones, because I
- 47:27Speaker 1: need that coaching. You know, because people always tell me
- 47:30Speaker 1: that I hear the word genius, uh, brilliant, ability to
- 47:35Speaker 1: the marketing brand things. I've done it so many years consistently,
- 47:39Speaker 1: but I haven't been able to wrapped my head around
- 47:41Speaker 1: how does that feel like a course? How do you
- 47:44Speaker 1: look like a person like me? They tell me I
- 47:46Speaker 1: need to write a book. You know. Some people said, man,
- 47:48Speaker 1: any documentary on you? You know? So, but these are compliments.
- 47:52Speaker 1: But how do you turn compliments into revenue? So the
- 47:55Speaker 1: first thing that I do with my clients is we
- 47:57Speaker 1: create what I call a blueprint or a method adology.
- 48:00Speaker 1: So because you cannot see the label from inside the jar,
- 48:03Speaker 1: what do I mean by that? Okay, so don't judge me.
- 48:05Speaker 1: This is not cool. Like this is vitamin water, Okay,
- 48:08Speaker 1: but on this water bottle there is a label. If
- 48:12Speaker 1: you live inside a jar, and the labels on outside,
- 48:15Speaker 1: you can't see what you do. So then when you
- 48:17Speaker 1: try this is why it's Hartyra Shane, when you try
- 48:20Speaker 1: to then package what you do into some kind of
- 48:22Speaker 1: methodology to teach people, it's hard because you just do
- 48:25Speaker 1: it effortlessly. So helping some having someone that can produce
- 48:30Speaker 1: you this is where I say my TV and from
- 48:32Speaker 1: from casting to producing comes into play, because really what
- 48:34Speaker 1: I do is take you through an exercise. When I'm
- 48:36Speaker 1: producing the value that is coming out of you effortlessly,
- 48:39Speaker 1: I can see it. We write it down, we create
- 48:41Speaker 1: a methodology from it. Now, what do I mean by that?
- 48:43Speaker 1: Most people have a think about it like this. When
- 48:46Speaker 1: I wake up in the morning and I washed my face,
- 48:48Speaker 1: I have a whole routine that I rushed my teeth,
- 48:51Speaker 1: wash my face, put on my makeup. If I forget
- 48:53Speaker 1: to do something, it is because I did something out
- 48:55Speaker 1: of order. I have a methodology and so when I'm
- 48:58Speaker 1: outside of it's something off and I can feel it.
- 49:01Speaker 1: It's the same way we each function in our gifts
- 49:03Speaker 1: and we don't realize it because we're on autopilot. So
- 49:06Speaker 1: it's really taking the time to have someone help you
- 49:08Speaker 1: do that, and you can't do it because again, you
- 49:10Speaker 1: can't see the light BOLB. So there'll be things that
- 49:12Speaker 1: you overlook, which we intrinsically all do that you know
- 49:15Speaker 1: one percent agree with this habit because like when I travel,
- 49:20Speaker 1: if I break tradition, like for Insch, I travel, will
- 49:23Speaker 1: always have a carry bag, and sometimes I have a
- 49:26Speaker 1: carry bag I can put in the up top. Like
- 49:28Speaker 1: when I went to Orlando last week, I didn't bring
- 49:31Speaker 1: the carry bag to put up top. I just check
- 49:33Speaker 1: luggage and child. When I got off from that plane seat,
- 49:37Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, something uncomfortable, right, somethings are comfortable.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Something that's comfortable. And it's the same thing like I've
- 49:44Speaker 1: left maybe two coach on the plane. You know, they
- 49:47Speaker 1: come to you and you check them. Because I broke habit,
- 49:51Speaker 1: you know I didn't. You really have to be aware
- 49:55Speaker 1: of doing things successfully and a have it way. Because
- 50:00Speaker 1: you break habit, it does impact your life. Yeah yeah,
- 50:04Speaker 1: and so what in essence you have to do is
- 50:06Speaker 1: take the thing that you've been doing. Look, every morning
- 50:08Speaker 1: when I wake up, I can't wake up and say
- 50:10Speaker 1: I think I feel like being reshawn today. Yeah, that
- 50:12Speaker 1: will not work every day automatically in the cold. So again,
- 50:16Speaker 1: there's things that I do that I don't even realize
- 50:18Speaker 1: that I'm doing. My husband sometimes laughs at me, like
- 50:20Speaker 1: do you realize you do this? Like I laugh, and
- 50:22Speaker 1: then I always got the end of me laugh and
- 50:23Speaker 1: I'm like, I didn't know I did that. So it's
- 50:26Speaker 1: again that's who I am and what I do because
- 50:28Speaker 1: I laugh really hardy and I feel like I need
- 50:29Speaker 1: to breathe after I laugh. That's for me what that is.
- 50:31Speaker 1: But I'm sharing that because all of us do things
- 50:34Speaker 1: that we don't realize that we're doing. So it's really
- 50:36Speaker 1: taken the time to hire someone that can pull that
- 50:39Speaker 1: out of you so that you can then create programming
- 50:41Speaker 1: from that. That is the yummy stuff that gets left
- 50:46Speaker 1: out when people are building businesses. I am going to
- 50:49Speaker 1: We're going to connect because I think that I need
- 50:51Speaker 1: to bring you into my life to develop that platform
- 50:56Speaker 1: because I really don't know what to do. I really
- 50:58Speaker 1: don't know. But everything you're saying is absolutely correct, and
- 51:01Speaker 1: if you have time, I will. You know, this interview
- 51:04Speaker 1: is about you what I do for a living. I mean,
- 51:09Speaker 1: I'm getting personal or now you know, like this is
- 51:11Speaker 1: my show just about me? Now you know about you
- 51:13Speaker 1: know more Hey, what what time can we connect so
- 51:15Speaker 1: I can tell you my life stories to we can
- 51:17Speaker 1: make some money, because that's what it's about. It's about
- 51:20Speaker 1: making money, but making money off your experience, making money
- 51:23Speaker 1: off your value. And then but it's also you know,
- 51:26Speaker 1: stepping out of your comfort zone. And I think that's
- 51:28Speaker 1: one of the things that you talk about a lot,
- 51:30Speaker 1: because I can't do what you do, like you just said,
- 51:33Speaker 1: I can't wake up into jan because but but I
- 51:37Speaker 1: gotta lean in your direction because you're a truth. And
- 51:40Speaker 1: if there's another thing to Rishan when you think about
- 51:42Speaker 1: that is there will be some people I think, oh,
- 51:44Speaker 1: she's too much and I am too much for you,
- 51:47Speaker 1: But there are some people that love me because I'm
- 51:49Speaker 1: I'm very animated. That's who I am. So some people
- 51:52Speaker 1: try to turn it down. I stopped letting people turn
- 51:54Speaker 1: down my life. This is who I am. I didn't
- 51:57Speaker 1: create this. God did. So what I'm saying when I
- 52:00Speaker 1: turned down my life is God made a mistake. Instead
- 52:02Speaker 1: of being all of who I am and knowing that
- 52:05Speaker 1: there are some people that I'm assigned and aligned with
- 52:08Speaker 1: and some I'm not, and that's okay. That's for all
- 52:11Speaker 1: of us and the more you get clear on that,
- 52:14Speaker 1: the better your life, your business. Even. I love how
- 52:16Speaker 1: you talk about relationships. Everything is relafe. It's how we
- 52:19Speaker 1: relate to one another. And so when you start to
- 52:22Speaker 1: be you fully and completely, that's when people can really
- 52:25Speaker 1: relate with you. And that's that's really the truth. And
- 52:28Speaker 1: I think that there's a comfort zone with you in
- 52:31Speaker 1: communicating because I interviewed people all the time. I can't
- 52:34Speaker 1: tell you how many people I probably could have said,
- 52:36Speaker 1: you know so Nicole, dr Kole, Robert shows and we
- 52:39Speaker 1: need to connect because I can't do something because my
- 52:43Speaker 1: whole career is tied to Roshane McDonald knows everything ras
- 52:47Speaker 1: Sean McDonald. I remember Steve Harvey said, Richane, do you
- 52:49Speaker 1: really think you know everything? I go, yeah, what do
- 52:53Speaker 1: you want to do? Say no? That that that's the
- 52:55Speaker 1: type part of my DNA. My part of my DNA
- 52:57Speaker 1: is to have answers. And that's what makes me successful
- 53:01Speaker 1: when people come to me with answers. And so when
- 53:04Speaker 1: you when so if I tell people publicly that as
- 53:07Speaker 1: a leader, you know, they always tell you can't show
- 53:09Speaker 1: any signs of weakness, and so that sometimes as a leader,
- 53:13Speaker 1: you caend not go to somebody who may be a subordinate.
- 53:15Speaker 1: That's saying you're a subordinate, but somebody else who has
- 53:18Speaker 1: a different skill set and admit you can't do that,
- 53:21Speaker 1: and they might use that against you. I'm just telling
- 53:24Speaker 1: you you've created a conference zone with me that I
- 53:26Speaker 1: don't feel a negative spirit when I tell you I
- 53:29Speaker 1: need your help. Well, here's the other thing too, Rashan,
- 53:32Speaker 1: I don't think any of us are born to fit
- 53:34Speaker 1: in the box. Each of us were born to disrupt
- 53:36Speaker 1: whatever system are called to work in. What do I
- 53:39Speaker 1: mean by that? So if I work in corporate, corporate
- 53:41Speaker 1: is already corporate. Corporate doesn't need more of corporate. So
- 53:44Speaker 1: if I go in there with all my flowery you know,
- 53:46Speaker 1: bolt colors and I'm all animated, they love it. But
- 53:49Speaker 1: some people will try to fit in the box of
- 53:51Speaker 1: corporate and go in there, and they wonder why they're
- 53:53Speaker 1: not coming back for more and more. Corporate doesn't need
- 53:55Speaker 1: more of corporate, and they're hiring you because they need
- 53:58Speaker 1: you to be different than that system. And so I
- 54:01Speaker 1: think so many of us trying to fit into a box,
- 54:04Speaker 1: and God never intended for us to fit any kind
- 54:06Speaker 1: of box. Well, I didn't know someone she's not fitting
- 54:10Speaker 1: in my box. I'm talking at very formative speaker. She'll
- 54:15Speaker 1: tell you how to bank roll your brilliance, Doctor n
- 54:17Speaker 1: Co Robert Jones. Now, what's what's in the future. We're
- 54:20Speaker 1: going into three. I already gave you. I always spoke
- 54:23Speaker 1: some some gifts into the into the world about working
- 54:26Speaker 1: for the government. Yeah, in the fourth court, I always
- 54:29Speaker 1: know in the fourth quarter, I planned for the first
- 54:30Speaker 1: quarter for four planning for the first quarter to the
- 54:33Speaker 1: upcoming year. And now you know you think the same way.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Tell you our audience how you do that. So at
- 54:39Speaker 1: the actually octold her every year I sit down and
- 54:42Speaker 1: plan my entire next year. And the reason I do
- 54:44Speaker 1: that is because when things are planned and stuff happens,
- 54:47Speaker 1: you'll plans don't always work out the way you plan
- 54:50Speaker 1: them out. But when you have a plan, you can
- 54:51Speaker 1: move stuff around easily instead of you could be proactive
- 54:54Speaker 1: rather than reactive. When COVID had already had things planned out,
- 54:59Speaker 1: I moved stuff around because COVID happened. So yeah, I
- 55:02Speaker 1: always sit down some from quarter one. I'm working on
- 55:05Speaker 1: my next book, so, by the grace of God, I'll
- 55:07Speaker 1: have a book deal this time. Instead of self publishing. Hello,
- 55:10Speaker 1: come on, lord right, So that's one and then I
- 55:12Speaker 1: told you I'm going into the government. Um sector is
- 55:15Speaker 1: those are my two big goals for top of Okay,
- 55:19Speaker 1: you forgot the third one, Rushan McDonald. Okay, that's a
- 55:22Speaker 1: giving what you can't let me. You can't let people
- 55:27Speaker 1: forget your dreams? Now, you know, just to keep that
- 55:30Speaker 1: she said, that's a given. Nothing. This reminds you Roushan
- 55:33Speaker 1: is not doing an interview personality here. I'm telling you
- 55:37Speaker 1: that I feel the spirit I said, and the spirit
- 55:41Speaker 1: is that you have to you. You know that you
- 55:44Speaker 1: know I'm only getting older. I feel good about how
- 55:47Speaker 1: look at what I do. But somewhere along the line,
- 55:51Speaker 1: I have to listen to what people keep telling me
- 55:54Speaker 1: sometime on the daily basis, weekly basis, monthly basis. Sharing
- 55:57Speaker 1: your gifts are undeniable. You think you thinks that are
- 56:00Speaker 1: very unique and share able. Uh and and you do
- 56:04Speaker 1: the same thing, Dr Jones. And and it's time for
- 56:07Speaker 1: me to come to a person like you and allow
- 56:11Speaker 1: you to unleash some gifts that I have hidden. And
- 56:14Speaker 1: so I want to thank you for coming finally coming
- 56:16Speaker 1: to my show because we've like schedule. Let's me this
- 56:19Speaker 1: interview four five times, right right right. The first time,
- 56:22Speaker 1: the studio did some praises like what's going on? Yes, yes,
- 56:26Speaker 1: I need to be here and let me let me
- 56:29Speaker 1: just say this. You know, even with us talking about you,
- 56:32Speaker 1: what you're looking to do is create your legacy. I
- 56:34Speaker 1: hate to say this, but long when you are no
- 56:36Speaker 1: longer here in your programs, will always be here to
- 56:38Speaker 1: bless people. So what you're doing is create a legacy
- 56:41Speaker 1: and financial revenue still coming to your loved ones when
- 56:44Speaker 1: you're not here. Right, Well, my friend, you're always a blessing.
- 56:48Speaker 1: You're you're energy. I'm tell you'll something. Do not waste
- 56:51Speaker 1: your time listening to it, this this podcast and listening
- 56:54Speaker 1: to this interview. Go find a video she is at.
- 56:58Speaker 1: And I said that in the Very pot Man she
- 57:00Speaker 1: is a blessing I always enjoyed talking to because she
- 57:05Speaker 1: her physicality, her animation is uplifting, and her smile is infectious. Again,
- 57:11Speaker 1: dr to Cole robint Jones, thank you for coming on
- 57:12Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation master Class. Thank you for having me,

- 57:59Speaker 1: week I sat down with per businessman, reality TV star
- 58:02Speaker 1: and creator of cryptocurrency coins Jim Jones. He explains why
- 58:06Speaker 1: it's important to take advantage of every opportunity for more
- 58:08Speaker 1: opportunities I can have for myself for better chances. I
- 58:11Speaker 1: have become successful with adding more money to the path.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Um and I'm from harm But we learned about was hustling.
- 58:17Speaker 1: When you hall hustles doesn't necessarily mean hustler. Jones and
- 58:21Speaker 1: meusic hustle or something to make some money. I was
- 58:23Speaker 1: very good at that. I figured why not the most
- 58:25Speaker 1: average the average engineer, the average millionaire has about seven
- 58:29Speaker 1: seven hustles. I got a little bit more than that.
- 58:31Speaker 1: So I'm doing pretty good out here, but I challenged
- 58:33Speaker 1: myself to take on different things that excite me. I
- 58:36Speaker 1: started to find myself taking on opportunities as they present themselves,
- 58:40Speaker 1: as they probably won't present themselves twice listen to this
- 58:42Speaker 1: four interview with Jim Jones. It's available on Money Making
