- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Ted Cruz week in Review,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and these are the stories that you may have missed
- 0:05Speaker 1: that we talked about this week. First up, Democrats move
- 0:08Speaker 1: to totally change America. This time they want to add
- 0:12Speaker 1: four new US senators so they gain control of the Senate.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Where do they want to do it and how do
- 0:17Speaker 1: they get to this idea? We explain it. Next up,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Democrats are furious that Republicans are fighting back after their
- 0:23Speaker 1: decades of jerrymandering and their argument it's always about race.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We explain that. And finally, an indictment in Cuba with
- 0:31Speaker 1: someone with the last name Castro. It took almost thirty
- 0:35Speaker 1: years to get it to happen. The details behind that
- 0:38Speaker 1: as well. It's the weekend Review and it starts right now.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I think that especially if people that listen to the
- 0:43Speaker 1: show that are younger, they hear this argument on statehood.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Democrats are really leaning into this. It's becoming an election
- 0:51Speaker 1: year issue multiple times over now. And the argument that
- 0:55Speaker 1: young people hear, and the one that they then make
- 0:58Speaker 1: is well they're not being fairly represented. Puerto Rico, washing
- 1:02Speaker 1: d C. Representation are our taxation with that representation? Why
- 1:07Speaker 1: should we not make sure these people have a voice
- 1:10Speaker 1: in Washington. D C explained to people listening now, how
- 1:14Speaker 1: to defend against that argument that's being made by the left,
- 1:17Speaker 1: because they are really pushing this on colleges and college
- 1:21Speaker 1: students and young people in this country.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Well, look, the Constitution explicitly created DC, and the framers
- 1:28Speaker 2: of the Constitution wanted our nation's capital to be a
- 1:31Speaker 2: federal district that was not part of any state. They
- 1:34Speaker 2: didn't want any state to be favored because the Congress
- 1:37Speaker 2: was there, because the President was there, and so they
- 1:39Speaker 2: carved out the lines of the District of Columbia. Was
- 1:42Speaker 2: originally carved out to be ten miles by ten miles,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and then what ultimately happened is they gave the southern
- 1:47Speaker 2: portion of it, everything south of the Potomac River, they
- 1:50Speaker 2: gave to Virginia. So what used to be DC Arlington
- 1:54Speaker 2: used to be part of DC, it was given to Virginia.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So it's now that ten mile by ten mile diamond
- 1:59Speaker 2: kind of chopped the bottom portion chopped off by the
- 2:02Speaker 2: Potomac River. And the idea of the framers was quite
- 2:05Speaker 2: clear that it was not fair if you had a
- 2:09Speaker 2: state that had our capital, that state would have advantages
- 2:11Speaker 2: that no other state had. The only reason Democrats want
- 2:16Speaker 2: d C to be a state is because d C
- 2:19Speaker 2: would immediately become the most liberal state in the Union.
- 2:21Speaker 2: It would make California and Illinois and New York look
- 2:25Speaker 2: look conservative by comparison. They want two new Democrat senators,
- 2:31Speaker 2: they want one new Democrat House member. They want to
- 2:35Speaker 2: be radical and extreme because and notice it's not about
- 2:40Speaker 2: any substance. Go back to Kamala's list. Is there a
- 2:43Speaker 2: single policy she listed that impacts your life, That is
- 2:46Speaker 2: about your job, that is about your kids, it is
- 2:48Speaker 2: about your family. No, the only only focus is power.
- 2:53Speaker 2: By the way, if DC if they were likely to
- 2:56Speaker 2: vote Republican, you would see Democrats saying making DC a
- 3:01Speaker 2: state is Jim Crow.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Puerto Rico is actually a little more complicated. Because Puerto
- 3:05Speaker 2: Rico has elected Republicans. The Democrats assume Puerto Rico will
- 3:09Speaker 2: elect to Democrat senators.
- 3:12Speaker 4: They might be right, but they might be wrong.
- 3:14Speaker 2: If if Puerto Rico became a state, we would fight
- 3:17Speaker 2: and vigorously contested. I don't know if we could prevail
- 3:19Speaker 2: on that or not, but their assumption. Look, the Democrats,
- 3:23Speaker 2: if there's one essential feature about them. They're racists. They
- 3:27Speaker 2: believe all African Americans must be Democrats. That's why they
- 3:30Speaker 2: hate Clarence Thomas because in their view, he's a trader
- 3:34Speaker 2: to his race. They believe all Hispanics must be Democrats.
- 3:36Speaker 2: That's why they hate me, because they think I'm a
- 3:38Speaker 2: trader to my race. And so their view of Puerto
- 3:40Speaker 2: Ricans is you must be Democrats because we, the Democrat Party,
- 3:44Speaker 2: control you. I'm not sure that would play out, but look,
- 3:48Speaker 2: Puerto Rico is a territory.
- 3:50Speaker 4: It has a different history.
- 3:51Speaker 2: And by the way, the people of Puerto Rico have
- 3:53Speaker 2: long been divided on the question of whether to become
- 3:57Speaker 2: a state or not. At various times in elections, they've
- 3:59Speaker 2: had options of statehood, They've had options of independence. There's
- 4:03Speaker 2: some in Puerto Rico that want to be a separate
- 4:04Speaker 2: and independent nation. Then the third option, which is what
- 4:07Speaker 2: they have now. They're a commonwealth. They get some of
- 4:10Speaker 2: the benefits of American citizenship, but yet they're not fully
- 4:13Speaker 2: a state, and the people of Puerto Rico have long
- 4:15Speaker 2: disagreed on that. Democrats don't care about any of that.
- 4:19Speaker 2: All they want is power. And I'll point to another instance.
- 4:22Speaker 2: We've talked about Commlin nationwide, We've talked about Virginia and
- 4:28Speaker 2: Governor Spanberger both gone wild, and then you look at
- 4:31Speaker 2: Republican at California. So all right, here's the story in
- 4:35Speaker 2: the New York Post Bay sixteenth, California sees massive surge
- 4:40Speaker 2: in Republican votes as more than nine hundred thousand ballots
- 4:42Speaker 2: already returned. Could the state of California actually be turning red?
- 4:47Speaker 4: Early?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Voters in the Golden State have already returned more than
- 4:50Speaker 2: nine hundred thousand ballots ahead of the June second primary,
- 4:54Speaker 2: showing a massive surge in Republican votes compared to four
- 4:57Speaker 2: years ago for the governor's race. On Saturday from the
- 5:00Speaker 2: research firm Political Data PDI showed that out of nine
- 5:04Speaker 2: hundred and five eight hundred and eighty nine ballots that
- 5:07Speaker 2: have been returned, thirty seven percent were from Republicans, with
- 5:11Speaker 2: Republican returns up eleven percent compared to the same stage
- 5:16Speaker 2: of the twenty twenty two midterms, So Republican votes up
- 5:19Speaker 2: eleven percent. More shocking is the fact that the data
- 5:23Speaker 2: showed forty one percent of Democrats who over returned their ballots,
- 5:27Speaker 2: down thirteen points from the same moment in the primary
- 5:30Speaker 2: election four years ago. So Republicans up eleven percent, Democrats
- 5:34Speaker 2: down thirteen percent. Now we all know because they tell
- 5:38Speaker 2: us incessantly. Democrats are committed to democracy, and they beat
- 5:44Speaker 2: their chest when they say it, and they get a
- 5:46Speaker 2: little tear in the corner of their eye. It is
- 5:49Speaker 2: democracy with a trademark on it. It is capital D democracy.
- 5:53Speaker 2: And by democracy, what do they mean. They mean any
- 5:57Speaker 2: decision making apparatus that elects Democrats.
- 6:00Speaker 4: That's how they define democracy.
- 6:02Speaker 2: If the voters vote for something they don't like, to
- 6:05Speaker 2: hell with the voters. The Democrats want what they want.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So Gavin Newsom, California has this really weird system of
- 6:12Speaker 2: electing governors where you vote for their like sixty candidates
- 6:15Speaker 2: on the ballt both Republicans and Democrats. They got rid
- 6:18Speaker 2: of a primary, and the way it works, the top
- 6:22Speaker 2: two candidate vote getters then go to a runoff. There
- 6:25Speaker 2: are right now two strong Republicans who are in the
- 6:30Speaker 2: top four, Steve Hilton and Chad Debanco. Those two could
- 6:35Speaker 2: possibly end up one and two. If that happened, it
- 6:38Speaker 2: would mean the runoff would have only Republicans. By the way,
- 6:41Speaker 2: it was Democrats who designed this system because they wanted
- 6:44Speaker 2: every election to feature just two Democrats. They wanted to
- 6:47Speaker 2: ensure that there wasn't even a Republican on the general
- 6:49Speaker 2: election ballot. They assumed they could take the top two
- 6:51Speaker 2: seats and just clean close.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Every time, Yeah, every time in this and then they'd
- 6:56Speaker 1: never have to worry about a Republican winning again. You know.
- 6:58Speaker 2: And it turns out when you do things like let
- 7:00Speaker 2: your city burn to the ground, not fill in the water,
- 7:04Speaker 2: let homeless people on the streets, let needles and robbery,
- 7:09Speaker 2: and abuse the economic system so much, propose a wealth
- 7:13Speaker 2: tax to confiscate people's wealth, destroy jobs, cause a massive
- 7:17Speaker 2: exodus of people fleeing California. It turns out when you
- 7:19Speaker 2: really really really screw up running the state or running
- 7:22Speaker 2: say the city of Los Angeles, eventually people notice. And
- 7:27Speaker 2: so here's Gavin news I want you to listen to
- 7:29Speaker 2: Gavin Newsom talking about what would happen if Republicans win
- 7:34Speaker 2: the top two spots in the election, if California voters
- 7:37Speaker 2: choose to vote Republican.
- 7:38Speaker 5: We all have agencies, we can shape the future. There's
- 7:41Speaker 5: still a lot of Look, I've said this before, Saul repeated,
- 7:45Speaker 5: I don't anticipate this need to be the case. But
- 7:48Speaker 5: there is a break the glass scenario, and there's many
- 7:51Speaker 5: people that have a deep understanding of what it would
- 7:54Speaker 5: look like if Democrats were locked out, and we're going
- 7:57Speaker 5: to do everything to make sure that doesn't happen.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I'll leave with that.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So, in other words, you're just going to rig elections?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Is that basically the responsect I don't worry. This may
- 8:04Speaker 1: happen once, but it'll never happen again.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Senator, look what he called the break the glass scenario.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Understand what he's saying to the voters.
- 8:12Speaker 2: If you pesky voters vote Republican, and if the top
- 8:17Speaker 2: two candidates that come into the runoff are both Republicans,
- 8:21Speaker 2: he will quote break the glass. And I don't know
- 8:24Speaker 2: what the heck that means. What throw one of the
- 8:26Speaker 2: Republicans out of the election, cancel the election? I mean
- 8:29Speaker 2: anything he's talking about. Do you know what you just witnessed?
- 8:33Speaker 2: There a promise of an insurrection?
- 8:36Speaker 4: That is in fact what I mean.
- 8:38Speaker 1: It's a fair way of saying it. You're basically saying,
- 8:40Speaker 1: even if you guys decided to go a different way,
- 8:42Speaker 1: we won't let you.
- 8:42Speaker 4: He said, we have the agencies.
- 8:44Speaker 2: We have the power there will break the glass scenarios
- 8:47Speaker 2: if Republicans win this. He's literally declaring war on the voters.
- 8:52Speaker 2: He's saying, you voters have no say in the state,
- 8:55Speaker 2: and if God forbid, from his perspective, you choose to
- 8:58Speaker 2: vote for Republicans, you deny us power. We will use
- 9:02Speaker 2: our power to crush the voters. This is Democrats gone wild.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And look Gavin Newsom, Abigail Spamberger, Kamala Harris, they're all
- 9:11Speaker 2: doing the same thing. They're freaking out, their panicky and
- 9:14Speaker 2: they're saying, we got to keep changing the rules so
- 9:17Speaker 2: that under no circumstances it possible that we lose. That's dangerous,
- 9:21Speaker 2: it's cynical, it is explicitly it's common to put it
- 9:25Speaker 2: on assault on the constitution and an assault on democracy.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And this is where today's Democrats are.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Now.
- 9:31Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 9:34Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 9:36Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, I
- 9:40Speaker 1: want to move to some fireworks that took place today
- 9:43Speaker 1: in the Senate Judiciary where they were talking you guys
- 9:47Speaker 1: were talking about the issue of jerrymandering, and it got
- 9:50Speaker 1: very heated between you and another senator walk us through that.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Well, we had a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee
- 9:58Speaker 2: on racial gerrymandering in the Supreme Court recent decision making
- 10:01Speaker 2: clear that you cannot draw congressional lines discriminating based on race,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and the Democrats have been losing their minds about this.
- 10:08Speaker 2: They've been screaming that it's Jim crow U And Maizie Herono,
- 10:12Speaker 2: the very very liberal Democrat from Hawaii, she spoke right
- 10:15Speaker 2: before me, and she gave a whole speech about how
- 10:19Speaker 2: Democrats or how Republicans are racist, how they they want
- 10:23Speaker 2: to hurt minorities, and it was just it was a
- 10:27Speaker 2: typically vicious, false slandering speech. I'll tell you I had
- 10:33Speaker 2: a whole set of remarks prepared for me. I had
- 10:36Speaker 2: a whole set of questions prepared for me. I did
- 10:38Speaker 2: not ask a single one of the questions my team
- 10:40Speaker 2: had prepared. What I did instead was just off the cuff.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It was reacting to to Mazie Herono's comments. Give a
- 10:48Speaker 2: listen and hear what I had to say.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Mister Chairman.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Just a moment ago, our colleague, Senator Herono said, there's
- 10:56Speaker 2: a lot more to say, and indeed she's right, and
- 11:01Speaker 2: in fact, I want to go back to her comments.
- 11:03Speaker 2: She began by saying, we have a long history of
- 11:05Speaker 2: racial discrimination in this country. That's undoubtedly correct, and then
- 11:09Speaker 2: she said, quote, we had poll taxes, we had literacy tests.
- 11:14Speaker 2: We even had tests of how many jelly beans are
- 11:16Speaker 2: in a jar. Mister Chamberlain, when Senator Herono says we
- 11:21Speaker 2: had poll taxes, I want to ask you who we
- 11:25Speaker 2: is and in particular, what party was it that implemented
- 11:29Speaker 2: taxes in the South.
- 11:30Speaker 3: And I don't want to necessarily speak in every single case,
- 11:33Speaker 3: but I'm pretty confident it was mostly the Democrats.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And what party was it that put literacy tests in
- 11:38Speaker 2: place in the South?
- 11:39Speaker 3: The same answer, mostly the Democrats.
- 11:41Speaker 2: And what party was it that had tests like how
- 11:43Speaker 2: many jelly beans are in a bottle?
- 11:44Speaker 3: The Democrats?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Tell me what party were the founders of the Ku
- 11:50Speaker 2: Klux klaned from?
- 11:52Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that was the Democrats.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Indeed, in fact, Nathan Bedford Forrest, the founder of the clan,
- 11:57Speaker 2: was a delegate to the eighteen sixty Democrat at national convention.
- 12:02Speaker 2: What party wrote the Jim Crow laws in the South?
- 12:04Speaker 3: The Democrats.
- 12:07Speaker 2: And so on this side of the isle were members
- 12:10Speaker 2: of the Republican Party. Who was the first Republican President,
- 12:14Speaker 2: Abraham Lincoln. The Republican Party was literally founded to oppose slavery.
- 12:20Speaker 2: We came into existence because slavery was a grotesque evil.
- 12:25Speaker 2: And it was President Lincoln, the first Republican President, who
- 12:28Speaker 2: signed the Emancipation Proclamation, who won the Civil War, and
- 12:33Speaker 2: that resulted in the freeing of the slaves and the
- 12:36Speaker 2: passage of the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth Amendments. By the way,
- 12:41Speaker 2: fast forward to the civil rights era. Bull Conner one
- 12:46Speaker 2: of the most noxiously racist politicians.
- 12:49Speaker 4: What party was he from?
- 12:51Speaker 3: He was a Democrat.
- 12:52Speaker 2: The Democrats for the entire history of their party have
- 12:56Speaker 2: been a party based on racial discriminate. They affirmatively embrace it,
- 13:02Speaker 2: they support it. Let me ask you, mister grime, is
- 13:05Speaker 2: discrimination is discriminating based on race consistent with the United
- 13:09Speaker 2: States Constitution? No, What does the fourteenth Amendment say about
- 13:15Speaker 2: discrimination based on race?
- 13:17Speaker 5: It's prohibited.
- 13:19Speaker 2: What does the fifteenth Amendment say about discriminating based on race,
- 13:22Speaker 2: and in particular drawing congressional lines and explicitly discriminating based
- 13:27Speaker 2: on race?
- 13:28Speaker 3: It's prohibited?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Now, the Democrats are fond of telling this story, that is,
- 13:34Speaker 2: and I wish I could find a kinder way to
- 13:36Speaker 2: say it.
- 13:36Speaker 4: A flat out lie that.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Without discriminating based on race, that no African Americans will
- 13:43Speaker 2: be elected and no Hispanics will be elected. Indeed, there
- 13:47Speaker 2: was one fellow online who was a vocal left wing
- 13:51Speaker 2: spokesperson who tweeted out, if I'm advising anybody to run
- 13:55Speaker 2: for president, they sure as hell better have a solution
- 13:57Speaker 2: to how you make sure that it's not another one
- 14:00Speaker 2: hundred years before another black person can represent South Carolina.
- 14:06Speaker 4: So that's a typical Democrat.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Statement that we cannot elect a black person in South
- 14:11Speaker 2: Carolina without discriminating based on race. I want to ask you,
- 14:16Speaker 2: mister Chamberlain, who is the junior Senator from South Carolina
- 14:20Speaker 2: right now?
- 14:21Speaker 3: That would be Tim Scott.
- 14:22Speaker 2: And all right, I'll tell you what I said online.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I said, hey, groc who is Tim Scott? And why
- 14:29Speaker 2: did Democrats think he isn't black? And by the way,
- 14:33Speaker 2: was Tim Scott elected because of a gerrymander district drawn
- 14:37Speaker 2: only to elect an African American?
- 14:39Speaker 3: No, he won statewide.
- 14:40Speaker 4: He won statewide, by the way.
- 14:44Speaker 2: The Democrat position is you can only elect African Americans
- 14:47Speaker 2: with a Gerrymander district. I will point out Burgess Owens,
- 14:50Speaker 2: an African American, is elected the majority white district in
- 14:53Speaker 2: the state of Utah.
- 14:53Speaker 4: He's a Republican.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Byron Donald's another African American, is elected the majority white
- 14:58Speaker 2: district in Florida.
- 15:00Speaker 4: He is a Republican.
- 15:01Speaker 2: John James, another African American, is elected the majority white
- 15:04Speaker 2: district in Michigan.
- 15:06Speaker 4: He is a Republican.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And my own Congressman, Wesley Hunt, who represents me in
- 15:11Speaker 2: the House of Representatives, he is elected in the majority
- 15:13Speaker 2: white district. He is a Republican. And yet in the
- 15:16Speaker 2: Democrats world, you're not black if you're not a liberal Democrat.
- 15:22Speaker 2: There is an arrogance to African American voters. By the way,
- 15:26Speaker 2: they also have that same arrogance to Hispanic voters. They say,
- 15:30Speaker 2: you're not Hispanic if you're not a liberal Democrat.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Well, I'll tell you I am.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Proud to be the first Hispanic ever elected to represent
- 15:38Speaker 2: the state of Texas in the United States Senate.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And mister Chamberlain.
- 15:44Speaker 2: In my election in Texas was I elected the gerrymander
- 15:47Speaker 2: district that could only elect in Hispanic.
- 15:49Speaker 3: No, you were elected statewide.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Discrimination based on race is wrong. Final question. The Democrats
- 15:59Speaker 2: are now clutch their pearls that seats drawn to elect
- 16:03Speaker 2: liberal Democrats in the South are going to go away.
- 16:06Speaker 4: You may get black Republicans instead.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Indeed, in Tennessee, they're freaking out that a liberal white
- 16:11Speaker 2: guy who's a Democrat is likely going to lose his
- 16:14Speaker 2: seat to an African American woman who's a Republican, and
- 16:17Speaker 2: they say that's horrible racial oppression. My final question is this,
- 16:23Speaker 2: if you look nationwide, which party has egregiously abused jerrymandering
- 16:32Speaker 2: for decades? Both parties are guilty of it, But who
- 16:35Speaker 2: has been the worst offender? And in particular take New England,
- 16:39Speaker 2: Take Massachusetts, Tate Connecticut, Take Rhode Island, Take Maine, take Vermont,
- 16:43Speaker 2: take New Hampshire. How many Republicans are elected from all
- 16:47Speaker 2: of New England in the House of Representatives.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I think the answer to that is zero zero.
- 16:51Speaker 2: They've drawn every district in a naked jerrymander, and yet
- 16:55Speaker 2: they're very upset that their illegal pursuit of power has
- 16:59Speaker 2: now been stopped by Supreme Court that is enforcing the
- 17:01Speaker 2: Constitution and prohibiting the racial gerrymandering, discrimination.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Their party is built on part of personal privilege.
- 17:11Speaker 6: Sure, I feel personally aggrieved to sit here and to
- 17:17Speaker 6: be lectured by my colleague from Texas. And this reminds
- 17:21Speaker 6: me of the time when he was first elected to
- 17:24Speaker 6: the Senate and the Judiciary Committee had a hearing on
- 17:28Speaker 6: gun safety and he felt a need to lecture Dianne Feinstein,
- 17:32Speaker 6: who was well a leader on gun safety legislation. And
- 17:35Speaker 6: he took that opportunity to lecture Diane Feinstein about gun
- 17:40Speaker 6: safety and her leadership on the issue, and she said
- 17:43Speaker 6: to him something along the lines of I did not
- 17:45Speaker 6: sit here on this committee for however many years she did,
- 17:49Speaker 6: only to be lectured by you. And that is how
- 17:52Speaker 6: I feel. So why don't you just stop lecturing the
- 17:54Speaker 6: rest of us. Just because you think you are the
- 17:57Speaker 6: smartest person in the world doesn't mean the rest of
- 17:59Speaker 6: us agree to that.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Okay, thanks you, Senator Herono.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I knew Dianne Feinstein. I served with Dianne Feinstein, and
- 18:06Speaker 2: you're not Diane Feinstein.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Right center, Padilla, Senator, I just got one question for you.
- 18:11Speaker 1: You're not a big morning person, So who made you
- 18:13Speaker 1: mad this morning? And what did you eat because.
- 18:16Speaker 3: That was brilliant.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Well, look, I couldn't stand seeing the Democrats being hypocritical
- 18:22Speaker 2: and dishonest, and you know it was striking. Maisie Herono said,
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm offended. I'm offended that you said this. You know
- 18:29Speaker 2: what she didn't do. She didn't dispute a single word
- 18:32Speaker 2: I said, because every word I said was factual. She
- 18:34Speaker 2: didn't dispute that her party has been viciously racist since
- 18:38Speaker 2: the very beginning of that party, that it embraces Rachel
- 18:41Speaker 2: jerrymandering like every word of substance. She just and this
- 18:44Speaker 2: is a classic Democrat tactic. How dare you speak the truth?
- 18:48Speaker 2: I'm offended by the truth. And obviously my reference at
- 18:51Speaker 2: the end, I was quoting a Democrat. If you'll recall
- 18:54Speaker 2: when George W. Bush or not George W. Bush, George H. W.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Bush was running for president and he was running with
- 19:02Speaker 2: Dan Quayle, and he was running against Michael Decaucus, and
- 19:06Speaker 2: his running mate was Lloyd Benson. And Lloyd Benson was
- 19:08Speaker 2: a Senator from Texas, and dan Quayle when he was
- 19:11Speaker 2: nominated to be vice president, was a very young senator.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I think he was forty one or forty two, and
- 19:17Speaker 2: he did not have a ton of experience, and in
- 19:19Speaker 2: the vice presidential debate between dan Quayle and Lloyd Benson,
- 19:24Speaker 2: dan Quayle had had a riff that I suspect was
- 19:27Speaker 2: prepared by his team where he said, look, I'm the
- 19:29Speaker 2: same age that John Kennedy was when he became president,
- 19:33Speaker 2: and it was I think they're line to say, gosh,
- 19:36Speaker 2: I'm not inexperienced, because because Kennedy and I are the
- 19:38Speaker 2: same age, and Lloyd Benson looked at him and said, Senator,
- 19:43Speaker 2: I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I served with Jack Kennedy. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy,
- 19:55Speaker 2: And that obviously was the riff I was using. For
- 19:59Speaker 2: Mazie Dianne Feinstein my first year, we did have a
- 20:03Speaker 2: fiery blow up over gun control because she was a
- 20:07Speaker 2: big advocate of gun control. I am a big defender
- 20:10Speaker 2: of the Second Amendment. And when I asked her a
- 20:13Speaker 2: specific question about the constitutional basis for what she was proposing,
- 20:17Speaker 2: she got very upset, and she much like Maisie Herono,
- 20:21Speaker 2: she said, I am not a sixth grader, and she
- 20:24Speaker 2: was horrified that I would actually ask her the constitutional
- 20:27Speaker 2: basis for what she was trying to do. Mayzi does
- 20:31Speaker 2: not have She could not refute a word I said,
- 20:36Speaker 2: so instead she resorted to insult an emotional offense. And look,
- 20:43Speaker 2: I think that's a fairly typical example of where the
- 20:46Speaker 2: Democrats are. Truth and facts are not their strong points,
- 20:49Speaker 2: and they're not going going to engage in them. Instead,
- 20:52Speaker 2: they're going to try to engage in deception. And sadly,
- 20:55Speaker 2: that was the entire Democrat theme in the entire hearing.
- 20:59Speaker 1: As If you want to hear the rest of this
- 21:01Speaker 1: conversation on this topic, you can go back and dow
- 21:04Speaker 1: the podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I want to get back to the big story number
- 21:11Speaker 1: three of the week you may have missed. I want
- 21:13Speaker 1: to move on to what we talked about in the
- 21:16Speaker 1: last show has now become a reality, and that is
- 21:18Speaker 1: Raoul Castro has been indicted. This is bringing lots of
- 21:24Speaker 1: celebration to the Cuban community down in Florida, a lot
- 21:29Speaker 1: of excitement also in Cuba because of this, and we've
- 21:33Speaker 1: seen some of those videos have been able to get
- 21:35Speaker 1: out of the country with limited access to the internet there.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But this is a very big moment for justice. And
- 21:42Speaker 1: now there couldn't be more of a stark difference between
- 21:46Speaker 1: having a former president, Barack Obama that would sit down
- 21:49Speaker 1: with this man who's now been accused of murder by
- 21:52Speaker 1: the United States American and diided for that. He sat
- 21:54Speaker 1: down with him in a baseball game, hung out with him.
- 21:57Speaker 1: And now Donald Trump's like, no, no, no, we don't do
- 21:59Speaker 1: that with bag guy. We don't negotiate with him. We
- 22:01Speaker 1: indict them.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Well, forget the Cuban community in Florida. This Cuban American
- 22:08Speaker 2: in Houston, Texas, in my laundry room, thankfully not surrounded
- 22:12Speaker 2: by catcraft right now is celebrating because Raoul Castro has
- 22:17Speaker 2: been indicted. Let me read from Fox News. Former Cuban
- 22:21Speaker 2: president Raoul Castro has been indicted in connection to his
- 22:25Speaker 2: alleged role in the nineteen ninety six downing of two
- 22:28Speaker 2: planes operated by the Miami based exile group Brothers to
- 22:32Speaker 2: the Rescue. The indictment, which of Florida Grand Juria returned
- 22:35Speaker 2: in April, was concealed Wednesday. Acting US Attorney General Todd
- 22:39Speaker 2: Blanche said during an announcement in Miami on Wednesday. It
- 22:43Speaker 2: charges Castro with conspiracy to kill US nationals, destruction of aircraft,
- 22:50Speaker 2: and four separate counts of murder. The indictment stems from
- 22:54Speaker 2: a February nineteen ninety six indictment in which four Americans,
- 22:58Speaker 2: Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandra Junior, Mario de la Pagna, and
- 23:04Speaker 2: Pablo Morales, we're flying in civilian aircraft when Cuban military
- 23:08Speaker 2: aircraft shot their planes down in international waters and killed them.
- 23:14Speaker 2: The indictmental ledges, according to Blanche, quote, they were unarmed
- 23:18Speaker 2: civilians and were flying humanitarian missions for the rescue and
- 23:22Speaker 2: protection of people fleeing oppression across the Florida Straits. Blanche said,
- 23:29Speaker 2: quote as alleged in the indictment, Raoul Castro and five
- 23:32Speaker 2: co defendants participated in a conspiracy that ended with Cuban
- 23:35Speaker 2: military aircraft firing missiles at those planes and killing four Americans.
- 23:41Speaker 2: He continued, nations and their leaders cannot be permitted to
- 23:45Speaker 2: target Americans, killed them and not face accountability. Blanche also said.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Joining Blanche announcing the indictment were United States Attorney for
- 23:54Speaker 2: the Southern District of Florida, Jason A. Reading Quinnons, Deputy
- 24:01Speaker 2: FBI Director Christopherrea, and Florida Attorney General James U.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Timer.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Look, Raul Castro, he's in his mid nineties. He is
- 24:13Speaker 2: a murdering, torturous communist bastard. Look, if there's one thing,
- 24:19Speaker 2: and let me say to the folks that listen to Verdict,
- 24:23Speaker 2: you guys know me, if there's one thing about me,
- 24:26Speaker 2: I genuinely and deeply and passionately loathe communists. Communism is
- 24:34Speaker 2: the most evil ideology humanity has ever created. Communism has
- 24:39Speaker 2: produced more murder, more torture, more imprisonment, more poverty, more
- 24:46Speaker 2: misery than any ideology in the history of our planet.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Fidel Castro was an evil monster. When Fidel Castro died,
- 24:58Speaker 2: I gave a floor.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Speech saying.
- 25:03Speaker 2: How happy I was that Fidel Castro had moved to
- 25:09Speaker 2: warmer climates. I believe Fidel Castro is burning in hell
- 25:16Speaker 2: right now. His brother, Raoul was vicious, was responsible for
- 25:23Speaker 2: much of the oppression in Cuba. He's no longer the president.
- 25:29Speaker 2: He's now ninety four, and I am incredibly glad. I
- 25:32Speaker 2: am gratified that the Trump Department of Justice has indicted
- 25:37Speaker 2: him for murder. This is an evil man, and this
- 25:41Speaker 2: may well set the predicate just like Nicholas Maduro for
- 25:46Speaker 2: the United States going in to execute this arrest warrant
- 25:50Speaker 2: to arrest him. And I get to say one of
- 25:53Speaker 2: the striking.
- 25:54Speaker 1: By the way, I had to ask you this real quick.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Do you think there's a decent probability that is actually
- 26:00Speaker 1: what could happen here?
- 26:01Speaker 3: Fifty to fifty.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Look, I think President Trump is going to ask the
- 26:06Speaker 2: military how likely are we to succeed? It depends where
- 26:10Speaker 2: Raul Castro is. Could you mount a military campaign to
- 26:14Speaker 2: go in and get him. I don't know how Securrey
- 26:16Speaker 2: he is. I have zero classified information on this, so
- 26:19Speaker 2: I'm not revealing anything, but I don't think President Trump
- 26:24Speaker 2: will order the operation if it is unlikely to succeed.
- 26:29Speaker 2: So if Castro makes a stupid decision and goes somewhere
- 26:34Speaker 2: where we could get him, I think there's a real
- 26:36Speaker 2: chance we go arrest him. If he is hidden underground,
- 26:40Speaker 2: either figuratively or literally, where we don't know where he is,
- 26:45Speaker 2: that becomes more complicated. So I don't know the answer
- 26:48Speaker 2: to that, but I think it's a fifty to fifty
- 26:50Speaker 2: proposition right now. And I will say the contrast, if
- 26:56Speaker 2: you look at the alums from the Obama administration. If
- 27:00Speaker 2: you look at Ben Rhoades, who was the deputy Nest
- 27:02Speaker 2: Security advisor on Obama, he is effectively weeping. You look
- 27:07Speaker 2: at Jensaki. Jensaki had Ben Roads on TV and they
- 27:11Speaker 2: were lamenting how horrible it was that roal Castro had
- 27:15Speaker 2: been indicted. To understand, when Obama was president, he went
- 27:21Speaker 2: and joined Raoul Castro at a baseball game. They were
- 27:24Speaker 2: paling it around. They had their arms around each other.
- 27:27Speaker 2: And listen, Commis like other commies. Listen Barack Obama when
- 27:34Speaker 2: he was president. At times he pretended he was moderate,
- 27:39Speaker 2: but I think is the years have gone by, it
- 27:42Speaker 2: has been clear. Look, there is a very real communist
- 27:46Speaker 2: movement in the Democrat Party. They've got people like Graham Plattner,
- 27:50Speaker 2: this crazy self described communist running for Senate in Maine,
- 27:55Speaker 2: the guy with the Nazi toten Komff tattoo on his chest.
- 28:00Speaker 4: He will tell you as.
- 28:01Speaker 2: A communist aoc ilhan Omar. Those folks, they won't quite
- 28:09Speaker 2: tell you they're communists, but they're close. Al Sayid, who's
- 28:13Speaker 2: the radical leftist running for Senate in Michigan, is also
- 28:17Speaker 2: pretty damn close to a communist. And and listen, I
- 28:20Speaker 2: believe I think Obama is responsible for all of this.
- 28:25Speaker 2: He has radicalized the Democrat Party.
- 28:28Speaker 3: And so you.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Look at the pictures and images of Obama embracing Raoul Castro.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Obama loved communists who were enemies of America. Obama started
- 28:42Speaker 2: as presidency. One of the very first things he did,
- 28:45Speaker 2: he went to the University of Cairo in Egypt and
- 28:48Speaker 2: he gave a speech and he said it Iran has
- 28:51Speaker 2: a right and he used the word right to nuclear technology.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Now now that's idiocy, that makes no sense. But all
- 29:01Speaker 2: of the Obama bros Are weeping right now because if
- 29:05Speaker 2: you gave them a choice, who do you like more
- 29:09Speaker 2: Raoul Castro, the communist, murdering, torturing, evil tyrants or Donald Trump?
- 29:17Speaker 2: One hundred percent of the Obama bros would pick Castro
- 29:20Speaker 2: over Trump. And so they're all freaking out. I gotta say,
- 29:25Speaker 2: Karma is a bitch.
- 29:27Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Senter,
