- Todd: Welcome everyone to the wildly opinionated news hour. Todd's World. I'm here. Todd, Carrie, we do it every week. Thanks for joining us. We go through the clips of the day, the kind of see what's going on in the culture. And then so we do this on Tuesdays, we do beers with Jesus on Wednesdays. That's kind of our walk through the β stories of the Bible, which we love. We're doing Noah's Ark this week, which is awesome. Or Noah's Noah and the Flood. We kinda did kinda did him building the ark the week before, so Yo, it's Carrie: Woo. Hi. Hi Tod. Hello. So glad you're here. Mm. The flood. Todd: Anyway, how's your week, Gary? Exciting? Yo, it's Carrie: It was β yeah, it was busy. Lot of work, lot of stuff really packed. So this is like Todd: Yeah, my week was I'm fitting life in 'cause I got a bunch of graduates and some open houses and so we're just balls to the wall. But it's fun. Good to be busy, right? Yo, it's Carrie: β my gosh. You are busy every second. It is fun. It's better than being bored. Yeah, it's better than being bored. Todd: Yeah, that's what I think. So Yo, it's Carrie: And I'm so glad that we're here doing like you said, news and culture. It's like, man, there's like not a dull moment in our news and culture. Mm mm. Todd: There's never β there's never a dull moment. I mean, there really isn't. Certainly not with Trump. I mean, Trump has changed kinda everything, but β yeah. Have you so it this may shock you. I mean, I know that you live through twenty twenty. We all live through twenty twenty. We know how the Democrats work, we know that that California is the worst example of all that is Democrat. But Yo, it's Carrie: Change the landscape. Okay. Yes. β my gosh. Actually the the best example. Todd: Sha shockingly, they're trying to s they're trying to steal another election in California. Can you imagine? No, I know. I I I mean, who'd have thought they would even do it, really? And it's it's typical. It's what it the what California's doing is what they had planned for the entire United States post COVID. And and we ruined it. That's why they hate us. The people ruined it. We the people. Yo, it's Carrie: Are they really? I am shocked. Call me shock. Mm-hmm. Woo That's right. Todd: And they hate us, they do hate us. But in California, they have it appears, β set the expectations so low that they just so they had a they had a β a primary election this last week, and this was the one with Spencer Platt, who was running all the cool AI ads, yeah. All great ads. We played a few of them, and so β Yo, it's Carrie: I know. That's too bad. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Enter Pratt. Yeah. The whole country is like on on top of this. They are so excited about Sprincer like a mayor or mayoral race in you know, across the country. It's so funny. Todd: And Spencer Pratt was right in there, and he was he was number two easy. There was a distant third, but you know, elections take about a month and a half in California. And you'll be shocked to hear that just just collection after collection, tranche, is it tranch like a trench of votes? Anyway, they get these these big batches of Pratt right in there, β and he he was number two easy. There was a distant third, but you know, elections take about a month and a half in California. And you'll be shocked to hear that just just collection after collection, tranche, is it tranch like a trench of votes? Anyway, they get these these big batches β of β Yo, it's Carrie: To count, the count, the mail-in. To count, the count, the mail-in. β β Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: of mail-in votes and you will get twenty-four thousand of β and there won't be a single one for Spencer Pratt. It's amazing. It's like of mail-in votes and you will get twenty-four thousand of β and there won't be a single one for Spencer Pratt. It's amazing. It's like Yo, it's Carrie: Mm. Mm. Wow. Wow. I know. I know. Those people those people who can't make their way to the voting booths in person, they just don't like Spencer Pratt. I know. I know. Those people those people who can't make their way to the voting booths in person, they just don't like Spencer Pratt. Todd: Well, it and it's just i it it's kind of it's it's just kind of an embarrassment. Let's listen. Trump Trump had something to to say about it. Shockingly. Who could imagine that Trump would have something to say, right? Well, it and it's just i it it's kind of it's it's just kind of an embarrassment. Let's listen. Trump Trump had something to to say about it. Shockingly. Who could imagine that Trump would have something to say, right? Actually I got two different β I I got a lot of a lot of clips β on on what's going on in California. But I got a couple from Trump and I always like to start with the β of the free world. So see what's going on. Yo, it's Carrie: β let's hear it. Excellent. Yeah. Todd: Which by the way, I don't know that I don't think there's any β I that I know of. There's no updates really on β whatever's on the Iran war. I mean it's just this constant like I think Iran lobbed a few ballistic missiles yesterday and then we hammered β back. But that's kinda all I don't know. Trump had a there was a clip that came out Yo, it's Carrie: I can't wait. Mm. Really? β gotcha. Okay. Todd: Last week where they asked Trump about ceasefires and they said what does a ceasefire mean? And he says, Well it depends on where you are. In that part of the world I think it's a little more moderate of a term. Yo, it's Carrie: Ha Todd: So I don't know. I I don't I think I I just don't know. And there's the the reason that everybody was so hesitant to to do what Trump is trying to do in Iran is because what what what do you do at the end? How do you win? Like I mean in in every in every measurable like like by every measure we won. 100%. I mean in in any traditionary traditional military Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yes. Like on paper. Todd: national understanding we want, except that we don't have the political will to go in and actually conquer the country. And therefore we just what what do we do? We don't want them to have nukes, but we can't exactly entirely destroy their nuke program from the air because of the way they've got things buried in under mountains and whatever. And so we don't have the political will to go in and actually do what I guess Yo, it's Carrie: Right. It's the primary goal. Mm okay. Okay. Well Todd: needs to be done if you were drawing up a mission. And and when I say we, I mean the entire country. Nobody wants that. Yo, it's Carrie: Right. It's I agree. I just think it's it's a no win. All it means is that we're gonna be there forever running things because as soon as as soon as we leave, then the crazies are going to step back in. Can you still hear me? No, that's okay. Todd: Sorry, Gary. I had to let a cat out of the studio. I should have known better. I should have got that c anyway. Yo, it's Carrie: Got it. I know. My doors always just crack a little bit for Tucker to come and go into the studio. Anyway. Todd: If I left the door open, there'd have never been any drama you'd have laid on the butt at the second I close the door, now they want out. You know how it goes. Yo, it's Carrie: Yep. Yeah. Claustrophobic kitties. Well, anyway, I think you're right. People don't want us. We don't want to go there. We'll just get stuck there. Todd: Anyway. Yeah, so I I just think we don't want to go there but but we don't know how to I I I just think at this point what happens? Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah, we don't know how to r tie it in a bow without boots on the ground. Todd: Yeah. And nobody wants boots on the ground. I don't want boots on the ground. You don't want boots on the ground. I don't think. And people are starting to get a little frustrated. I got a I was talking to old buddy Will on the phone and the other and he was like, Yeah, this week. And he's like, dude, I'm getting really frustrated with this Iran thing. And I don't I don't and it's just dragging and dragging and well, and it feels like all they want to do is outlast us. Yo, it's Carrie: No, exactly. I mean think nope. Nope. Mm. Okay. Okay. That it's that it's dragging or what? Todd: You know, which I think is all they want to do, and they think they can because of the midterms. But we'll see. So anyway, that's the Iran stuff. That's your Iran war update. Nothing. Nothing at all. No update at all. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. They can't, but anyway, okay. That's all we needed. Nothing. Big nothing burger. Big nothing burger. Okay. Todd: The β the Ayatollahs remain gay, maimed, and enclosed under mountains. And meanwhile, much of the man much of the mainstream American media says they're winning. And you think, β okay, I guess. Yo, it's Carrie: Which, you know. To each Yeah. To each their own, you know? I mean, if you want to be gay underground, it's fine. It's fine with us. Okay. Todd: So I ran, that's their definition of winning over here. Over here, Spencer Pratt can't be allowed to win. That much we know. Here's Trump talking about the California election because it it isn't just Spencer Pratt, it's also Steve Hilton who was running for governor. And it's the same exact thing. Like he's ahead, you know, and then slowly but surely over the course of a month and a half, two months, four months, they whittle away. Yo, it's Carrie: No. Okay. Ha ha ha. β okay. Okay. Okay, pause a second and fill me in because I we focused so much on the the LA mayor race. He's running for governor and what is his political party? Okay. Todd: Steve Hilton is just it's running for governor. He's a Republican. β you know, he's a foreigner. You when you hear him, I got a clip of him. He he he was a naturalized British citizen in twenty twenty one. So I I gotta tell ya, I don't like that. I don't like foreigners running to control our Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. I don't either. Even like even Eastern Europeans, I'm like, mm, or Western European Western Europeans. Whatever, yeah, no. Todd: I don't like it. Become a citizen, have your kid born here, then your kid can run and I feel better about it. But anyway. Yeah. Well let's hear what Trump has to say about the California election. Yo, it's Carrie: Or maybe your great your great grandkids. We talked about that one time. I'm like, I think the farther out you go, the better. Okay. Todd: So that was that was the first Trump β Trump one. I got a little longer one. Where where is he here? Hold on. Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. I think I have a solution to the mail in ballot problem. Todd: What do you think, Carrie? What what I mean, because this is this is a tough nut to crack. Because California just mails in they mail ballots to everyone, willy nilly. And they don't take it they don't check IDs. They just anybody. What's your solution? Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Hmm. I think every single ballot and and every person every person needs to be assigned a like a serial number on a ballot, a traceable serial number on a ballot. And that thing should be, I don't care if it's complicated AF, it should be like a certified, a certified letter with a tracking number. Because you know what? I'd love to know where all these 24,000 ballots are coming in that are all for one candidate. Todd: Okay. Yo, it's Carrie: Because it's complete BS to any to any logical statistician. Todd: Well but this is exactly what they want. They don't want what you want. Like they burned down the palisades. Do you think they want to be held accountable for that? Yo, it's Carrie: Well, right. I'm just saying, hey, you want mail in ballots? Then we need For the Palisades? No. Todd: No. They don't have anything Yo, it's Carrie: Nope. They care more about the environment. Todd: You think that John Thune wants to pass the Save Act that would actually mandate that we check IDs and that we have β which I'll say this about the Save Act. I heard Trump and he may say this on here somewhere, I don't remember. But I thought he said the only thing we added to the Save Act was no men and women's sports and no transgender surgeries. And I just thought, why? Why do we have to to make these bills into conglomerations? Why Yo, it's Carrie: No. Okay. Okay. β yeah, they shouldn't be. Todd: Can't we make the Democrats just say because that gives them cover now that well we gotta try we gotta protect the trans kids? It didn't have anything we I'm all for photo IDs when we're voting, but we gotta protect the trans kids. All it is is a poison pill. Just keep the clean. I'm all for the tranny bill. Pass the tranny bill. Call it the tranny bill. See if John Thune can get behind that one. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. Yeah, keep it clean. Just keep it a clean bill. Yep. I don't think I don't think anyone's gonna call it that. Todd: Call it the adictomy bill. The adodicty bill. No. Yo, it's Carrie: Only in Todd's world. The what the what? Todd: Anyway, it doesn't matter. The Senate doesn't have any interest in clean elections. Nobody, nobody who actually is in leadership in the country, except like Trump and a few Republicans, have any interest in clean elections. That was Rush. I gotta give Rush credit for that. That was a classic rush line, yes. And I love Rush, so you know. Anyway, let's listen to Trump. Yo, it's Carrie: β goodness. You're still laughing at addict me. 'Cause it's so Okay, thank you. 'Cause 'cause that sounds like one word. Sorry, that's hysterical. Okay. Okay. Todd: Yeah. And don't you think everybody knows it kinda? Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. Todd: I mean, I I don't it's not like you say this to somebody and they're incredulous, like, no, what do you mean? They're just giving everybody the right to vote. Yo, it's Carrie: What do you mean? Like why does it take four days? It's just one state. Todd: Four days it doesn't take four days. They've been at it they had been at it for four days at this point. They're talking about a month and a half. Yo, it's Carrie: β my gosh. I it's it's insane. That's complete insanity. Todd: That that's impossible. That can't be done. He is so right. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah, come on. What gonna happen here, Todd? This is nuts. Todd: It's ridiculous. I will tell you this. The he's got a little bit more to say, but the Supreme Court has cases before, has already heard these cases this term. I think they were out of Mississippi. Anyway, it had to do with mail-in ballots and how long they can be counted after an election. And Judge Alito and and it it it appeared the court was poised to make all of this have to be done by election day because Judge Alito made the comment that we've replaced election day with election month. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Todd: Justice Alito, I should say. And he is β he's a hundred percent right. So it is possible those decisions should come out by about the end of June. It's possible by the end of this month that we may still not know the results of these races, but that the Supreme Court could come in and say all of this is illegal, and at that point and it's unconstitutional. I don't exactly know what would happen with this race. Yo, it's Carrie: Yep. β there you go. Mm-hmm. Unbelievable. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: You know what I mean? I just I don't know. But it could fix a bunch of things. It could fix it could fix the mailin the mail-in ballot issue going forward. Now it's still ridiculous because there should not be we sh we shouldn't have to rely on the Supreme Court. We have a Congress, but our Congress is just utterly worthless. We all know that. They they they're just Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. I hope the Supreme Court makes a difference on this. No, you're you're good. You're fine. No, I hope the Supreme Court can β can put some kind of reasonable end to this this route in, you know? And then then what the Democrats would do is they would then stockpile ballots beforehand and then what you do is you make a rule that you come in Todd: What sorry about that. I was trying to stop sharing it. Go ahead, Carrie. Yeah. Yo, it's Carrie: Can't come in it with anything other than a brown paper sack lunch and your handbag, you know? Like that's it. To the voter. If you're if you're yep, if you're a pole worker, like that's it. You're not allowed to bring in pallets of luggage or you know? I mean it's just Todd: You mean to the voting or to the counting? Mm-hmm. I mean listen, it'd be so it we know this w what he just said with Spain, this is all over the world, all the European countries. We know we could secure elections if we wanted to. We just it's again, it's it's not much different than the Iran thing, which is we don't have the political will. Or our leaders don't have the political will because the grift and the fraud and the money laundering is so it's so entrenched. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Todd: I mean, do you think John Thune for one second is gonna stop that gravy train when everybody lined up in the Congress, all the lobbyists, hell the whole city of Washington DC is looking at him saying, What are you doing? That's how we get our money. No, they're not gonna do they're they're not gonna willingly do that. They're gonna have to be forced into it. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. You know, it and if I can take us off track slightly, I want to say in Florida, our governor, Ron DeSantis, is trying to get past β the abolition of property tax. If you own if you own your home. So I'm I'm not a hundred percent sure where it is, but guess who's freaking out about it? Democrat politicians in Florida. They're freaking out. Todd: No, go ahead, Gary. Yes. I thought that passed. Am I wrong? Okay. Yeah. β they hate the idea. They never want to get rid of taxes. Yo, it's Carrie: And you know why? No, they don't. And I think it we are in a surplus. The state of Florida is in a surplus. So what are you worried about? I think, well, maybe you're worried about how much you're getting on the side. That's the only it's the only reason if if we're in a surplus, it's the only reason they could object to this. And I I'm just I'm so done. So done with politicians just stealing from American people. Todd: Yeah. Well, I hope that that I I'll say though, the fact that DeSantis is leading the charge and this has and I he started this I know a few years back. And this has spread to other red states. And this is it's it's a hundred percent this is I am so on board with getting rid of property taxes. I know that that the way Struc Florida's gonna do it there if you Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Todd: Just move there, you gotta pay them for like five years, then you can opt out or so it's d they're gonna do something like that. And you know what? Whatever. I'm just β even if it takes a second to get there, the end of property taxes is within sight. And to me, that's a fabulous thing. If we could do the same thing with income taxes, it'd be fabulous. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm. Okay. Whatever, you're paying it anyway. Mm-hmm. Yes, I agree. Todd: we if we could at least get the end in sight because now we have somebody we have a president who's willing to talk about it. We have the tariffs that are taken off. Everything else. In fact, there's there is I mean listen, California's California, and I'm not willing to concede it. I think we need to fix it. β but let me show you now the there's a new federal lawsuit that's accusing the California Secretary of State of violating federal law. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Mm. Todd: By failing to clean up voter rolls, which I'm sure is hard that's hard to believe, right? I can't imagine a secretary of state would actually do that. But this is this is who the secretary of state is. So maybe maybe there's something to it. Maybe maybe Miss Shirley Weber is β is not a hundred percent legit. So the shocking numbers. Yo, it's Carrie: Nice. Yeah. Are you shocked, Todd? Shirley Weber. Okay. Todd: 870 whoops 873,000 registrations have been inactive for at least two general federal elections. Three hundred and twenty almost three hundred and twenty-seven thousand have been inactive for three, a hundred and fifty thousand for four, and thirty-four thousand have been in inactive for five, some dating back to before twenty sixteen. But these ghost voters remain on the rolls despite clear federal requirements to maintain accurate lists. So Yo, it's Carrie: Wow. And you know what? They're voting by mail. I think Shirley's got a little house cleaning to do, a little house clean keeping. Todd: Well I β do you think that Shirley transitioned into Shirley? I I mean I don't know guys, you'd have to look at the picture, but you know, so far the Save America hasn't passed yet, so they're still allowing adictomy surgeries. Anyway, it's Yo, it's Carrie: That's That that might have been a remove β I don't know. I don't even know what to say to that. I don't wanna I I don't wanna rip on how someone looks, but that's a tough photo to overcome. It's tough. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, Shirley's yeah. Todd: It's maybe not maybe not the best one, right? Crap. β I want to play just before we get off California, just so you can hear Steve Hilton, because we haven't talked much about him. And he's the he's the Republican candidate for government. I I mean by all accounts, I guess a a decent guy. Like I said, the foreigner thing bugs me. But Yes, he was on Fox News for a while. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. β Is he the news guy? Is Steve Hilton? Okay, I'm sorry. Right there, I just clicked because I'm like I don't I know the name, but I don't know the face. He looks completely different with facial hair. I know Steve Hilton. Okay. I know him well. Okay. Todd: β does he? I I s okay, let's listen to him. You know him. I don't know him 'cause I don't watch cable news T V. Hello love. Ha. That's the plan right now. They'll add on another thirty five days. Yo, it's Carrie: Thirty five days. Todd: You can't compare us to Indians. Takes us a lot longer to count. We just saw the Secretary of State. I'm not even sure she can count. Anyway I don't think so. Yo, it's Carrie: know she's in there counting. She might be counting she might be counting the cash in her handbag. Todd: I just need some walking around money. So anyway, but but so that's that's California. The elections are still being rigged. If the Save America doesn't pass, which it hasn't so far, β then nothing has been cleaned up. But you know what I'm not convinced? I'm not convinced that that this is our last shot. I'm not convinced. I think that Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. Yikes. God bless California. Mm-hmm. Todd: I I'm not convinced that we can't win the next presidential election with whoever. I don't know, Vance, Rubio, whoever runs. I I think that that Trump if he if he can get his well in other words, because the Democrats could could switch right back. Everything could go right back without the Save America Act. They could flood the nation with mail in ballots. I mean, just as easily as Trump can issue an executive order where he's banning all mail in ballots, the the next Biden Yo, it's Carrie: Right. You're not convinced. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. Todd: clone can walk in and β and issue one that says, β no, everybody gets mail and bail. You what I mean? So it's just that's the whole point of having a Congress and having laws. Is that laws are supposed to be more binding and they are. A a β Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. What do you think will happen in California if they do spend thirty days counting and they'd get just enough to eek past Spencer Pratt? What do you think the people in California will do? No, the people, the voters. Really? Nothing? Damn it. Todd: Nothing. I think they're that I think they're beaten down in California. In fact, I had a clip here. I wasn't gonna play it, but β but you β it's a short little one minute clip and you just you just brought it up with that, so I'm gonna play it. This is Jonathan Turley. This is how amazing Carrie is. But no, this exact this exact thing. Let's see what β he's talking to Laura Ingram. Yo, it's Carrie: This is how good we are. Thank you. Mm. Todd: And β let's hear what he has to say about the voters of California's quick little one minute clip. What do you think? Did he answer your question? Unfortunately. Yo, it's Carrie: Unfortunately, yes. Mm. It's a shame. Todd: I think that's what happens to a populace. They just get beat down. You know? I I mean and and I I think that's what's happened in California. I think they've been they I mean, if you're in California and a massive wildfire breaks out and your home is in danger, probably you kind of expect it to burn down. You know? Makes you mad. Right. But I mean this is just this they fail at everything they do. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. It's tough. Right. Well now you do. Right. Mm-hmm. Todd: But they spread enough they spread enough walking around money around out there to keep buying votes and then they rig the system and then at that point you can't you can't hold them accountable because they have a month and a half to find the votes. They just they kind of filter in. And it's shocking. It's amazing how it works. So and the people of California look at it and they think, well, it doesn't work. We can't hold them accountable. This is just how life is. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. At the post office. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: This is how life is in California. Now, I'm not saying that's good. I'm just saying I think that's I think people get beat down like that. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. Right. Todd: Whereas in Florida, you're like the we made life better in Florida. Look at us. And now everybody wants to come to Florida. And Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. As long as they come here and vote appropriately, I'm okay with it. Although our traffic really sucks. I don't have too far to go. Todd: You're okay with it. How much how much do you have any feel or I'm sure this is β readily available information, but how much has Florida grown like since COVID? I mean I β they talk about it a lot, I just don't know like are there millions? Is it grown by millions of people? Yo, it's Carrie: β you know I don't know, but I know that in like in my city, I know that there are like constantly condos, apartment buildings like being built everywhere you look. So yeah. They're coming. Yeah. So yeah. Todd: Mm. So clearly they're coming. Which is good. This is Kevin Hassett. And I think I think it's β Trump's national economic β director, council director. Some some presidential β economic thing. There's just a bunch of them. Sorry, had to find the right thing here. And he's talking about the Trump economy. And I would say that this sounds it sounds pretty good. Gas is w where's gas now in Florida? About four? Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So gas is now has dipped below four. It's in the three β seventy five to three eighty five range. Yeah. What about what about you? Okay. You dipped you said you like last week, I think you said you went below four. Okay. Todd: Okay. Better than here. We're at about four twenty. But we dipped and then it went back up. And so it's it well, we'll see. Hopefully it's on a downward trend. But here he is talking about the economy. What he's talking about is do you remember with with Biden how they kept coming out every month the the the government issues jobs reports? And β and under Biden every month they'd issue a jobs report, and just for round numbers, they'd say something like the economy gained a hundred thousand jobs last month. And then we start going along, and then about three months later, there'd be a little there'd be a quiet little story that would come out, β by the way. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yes. They were hysterical. Mm-hmm. Todd: Those May jobs numbers were revised down by about 70,000. And this happened over and over, like constantly they would overreport jobs. Well, the same kind of thing is happening with Trump, except it's reversed. So every time that they that they announce these jobs, they'll be like 85,000 expected. They'll go back, and when they go back and revise it, it's like 172,000. And so it's the exact opposite. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. Nice. Todd: So that's what's going on in that's good. That's a better way to do it. Yo, it's Carrie: That's cool. You know, go ahead. Yeah. Back then during during that Biden term, I followed the White House Instagram account and they would post those job reports and they were so funny because the comment section was just the best entertainment. I looked forward to the I looked forward to the reports just for the comments. So it's pretty fun. Todd: Ha ha. And and I will say β what what's your sense? Do you feel like β I I mean I feel like people feel like the economy's pretty good, they just wish gas would come down. Does that kind of track with what you're feeling or hearing or Yo, it's Carrie: Yes, I I think food and gas, I think food and gas and you know, I'm sorry, food, gas and and housing costs I feel like are really the three big things that people feel like are too high. β but they are. But the job market does seem good. β I know Trump's worked to incentivize, you know, bringing manufacturing back. I'm curious where we are with the tech. I keep trying to figure out how to Todd: Yeah. And they are, they're way too high. Yo, it's Carrie: research that. I'd like to know where the tech production tech production in the country because Todd: With the tech, what do you mean? β I just happen to have a clip for you. See how well Carrie does that? It's amazing. It's Yo, it's Carrie: β my gosh. It's like we're ch this is why we get paid the big bucks. No, Todd, that's actually really cool. I'm glad to hear that you have something on it. β Okay. Todd: Here he is. This is β I'll I'll I'll get up. Go ahead though. You can keep going. I just gotta Yo, it's Carrie: So okay, so β one of my sons has a major computer part that needs to be fixed. And right now he can't he can't buy a new one and get it quickly. They're they're not in stock. And it it just made me think recently. That's okay. But it's what made me think recently, where are we with the moving tech production here? 'Cause I know we talked about the chips. Now it's like how about the other stuff? How about the how's it going? So yeah, I'm excited to hear an update. Todd: Sorry. That was an accident, guys. Mm-hmm. Well this is β this is Jensen Hoang, who is the Nvidia CEO. And he's saying this let's let's hear what he has to say because he's gonna talk about exactly well, he's talking about chip production specifically, but he does widen it out a little bit. So let's hear what he let's hear what β Jensen Hoang has to say. Yo, it's Carrie: Wang Mm-hmm. Yep. Right. Okay. It's a huge first step. Okay. All right. Woo! Todd: What do you think, Carrie? Yo, it's Carrie: I mean, I don't care as much specifically about the AI, you know, infrastructure technology. I mean, I it makes sense that that's what they're looking at, but it's like I would just like them to be more practical, like it like in terms of the chips. How about computer parts? How about the motherboards? How about the GPUs? Like that's what I'm talking about. So it's fine. I think so. I hope so. I mean, why do we have to wait? Yeah, why do we have to wait? Todd: My guess is that you will start to see a fair amount of that, β because of the tariffs. Yo, it's Carrie: six months for a Korean part to make it here, you know, and then it costs so much because everyone wants it. There's a limited stock. And so yeah, we there's a lot that can be done still. That's cool. Todd: Right. And that's and that's I mean, that's movement. Probably probably if we had the advantage of forty years of hindsight, we would look back right now and we'd be like, It's amazing how fast Trump turned the ship around on American manufacturing. But when we're in it, it does still doesn't feel amazingly fast. Do you know what I mean? Yo, it's Carrie: Uh-huh. Mm-hmm. Yeah. β yeah. No, you know what? Thank you for saying that, Todd. You're absolutely right. Thank you for saying that because peop you know, he immediately it he played I mean, he kinda played the dick card like he was basically like gonna penalize companies for leaving. But I think, you know what? He just bas he created deterrence and created incentives. And he he that's how he turned the ship so quickly. So you're right. It's great. Todd: Yeah. Yeah. Well, this is the same guy, except he's on Joe Rogan, and he's talking just a little bit about AI. β so this is Jensen Huang. Mind you, I like his last name. See, I have the most boring name in the world. You know that in my entire life, no one's ever mispronounced Todd Allen. It's the most American brown paper bag name in the world. So I like people who have interesting last names. I know. β Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. β cool. Nice. Jensen. Ha ha ha ha. No, it's great. Hey, I'm I'm married a Smith. I can relate. It's great. I love not having to spell it though. I bet people misspell your like your name, but no. Yeah. Todd: Not usually β sometimes A L A N, but not not often. Okay, guy, let's let's hear Jensen. Carrie doesn't buy it. Yo, it's Carrie: Like Todd: What do you think, Kerry? Yo, it's Carrie: What does he mean? Ninety percent of our knowledge? I mean, is he talking about like is he talking there in terms of education? I'm I guess I'm trying to figure out how do you even I I I can't even wrap my brain around what he said. Todd: Well, in other words, th that β that's why they think that β they they say that AI will AI's gonna find the cure for cancer, right? And it's because they're the Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Well, they're gonna find it like in a lost file that already exists, you mean? A hidden file. Todd: Well not not necessarily that, but but they're gonna be able AI will simply put together knowledge that we already have and be able to find some patterns and find some ways to to get us there. The the knowledge doesn't ever start with AI. Do you know what I mean? But he but what he's talking about as far as packaging it makes some sense to me. It doesn't bother me that much. β but like I say, the most important part is to me is the content staying original. Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Mm-hmm. Right. The generating. Todd: Like I have no use for AI songs. I have no use for AI books. I mean textbooks I guess I get. I don't know. You know, I'm not a textbook writer. If I was, I might have strong opinions about how important it is for text I I don't know. And I haven't I I've been out of school so long I don't read a lot of textbooks. So Yo, it's Carrie: Yes. Right. I think this is this is Yeah. But that is something to think about. I'm with you. I'm not interested in I I think did I hear that someone was working on a the first fully generated β AI generated β feature length film? I have no I hope no one goes to it. I hope it's a giant bomb and that no one wants to take part in that. Cause I think that that's where you and I feel the same way about creativity being hijacked by by AI. Todd: I don't know, maybe. Yo, it's Carrie: I mean it's one thing to use it as a tool. Again, use it as a tool, but for original creation, I'm not interested in that at all. Todd: You mean w when you say w what you were talking about there in AI film, are you talking about an AI actually generates the story? Or they're taking a story and using AI to to to tell the st that's what I'm not sure on what you're Yo, it's Carrie: A movie. β Okay, so you know what? β the visual part AI, but but now that you say that, maybe maybe the story is as well. Some I heard yeah, I heard someone was working. Right, right. Todd: I mean, it could be either. I'm sure that they have AI out there making its own movies. That doesn't shock me. I just don't know. I mean, they're doing songs that are AI generated and Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. I go I know, I go on β YouTube sometimes and I'll just p do a playlist of s of something and I look and it's this weird I'm like, Who is this? I don't remember hearing that these two artists did a duet together. β they ha they didn't and I just I skip it. It's like I don't I'm not gonna give that any attention whatsoever. Todd: Well, sometimes they're going back and and they're taking and they've done this forever. They'll take masters of like β that that Allison Krause singing you say it best when you say nothing at all with Keith Whitley. Keith Whitley was obviously dead when s when they did that. But they're just using the masters and they're dubbing it in and that's not that they've been doing that forever. That's not necessarily AI. β Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. β okay. Right. That's no, that's cool. Like, yeah, when Yeah. His daughter. That's amazing. I think that's really Natalie Cole, thank you. That's really special. I love that. But I don't want I I I don't want to see two artists now together and then and they're all o and if you start if you start looking, it'll start showing β to you. It's like I'm not I'm not watching any of that garbage. Nope. Give me the OGs. Todd: Like Nat like remember Nat King Cole and his daughter did that with a bunch of his songs? Natalie Cole or whatever her name was. But I I agree. Yeah. I I'm with you on that. I I want you to see I I really this was a long clip, and so this is a Bill Maher clip, it's about eight minutes long, and I'm going all the way to the last two and a half minutes because I the whole clip's pretty good, but we don't have time for that kind of thing on here. So, but this a he's talking about AI. And he's talking about AI with regards to academia and to the to the younger generation coming up. And Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna summarize. Okay. Okay. Todd: So I really felt like his last his last two and a half minutes here were pretty good. Go ahead, Gary. Yo, it's Carrie: Now regarding acad what do you mean? Is he talking about higher education, like college? Okay. Todd: Well, yeah, he started off with a higher education and and talking about how these commencement speakers were going to these colleges and they were talking about how AI is gonna change everything. As soon as they start saying that, all the students start booing them, all the graduates start booing them because they're talking they they feel like it's coming for their jobs. You know what I mean? And so that's that's that's where he started, and now he's been he's been five and a half minutes into this in into this bit. And it's not really a bit, into this kind of monologue. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Gotcha. Okay. Yep. Okay. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Todd: Okay, here's Bill Mar. β Yo, it's Carrie: Yikes. Okay. Good job. Yeah. Todd: So he did start with a bunch of things about how kids these days coming out of high school, they don't know basic I mean, colleges are going to teach middle school math and and they don't know history and anyway, just a little background. Yo, it's Carrie: β yeah. It's rough. It's rough. Todd: Here for us Yo, it's Carrie: That's amazing. That's amazing. Ha ha ha. β Todd: What do you think, Carrie? Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. I disagree with one thing, but then I but then I'm gonna finish with praise for this. Okay. I I disagree with the β the claim that they're writing papers with it and all that because very quickly college professors and they're using technology to do it, but to detect and they're really upfront about it. They're like they have detection software that can pick up on pieces of, you know. Todd: Okay. Uh-huh. Yo, it's Carrie: submitted writing and detect that it's not authentic or original. So I I'm gonna disagree with that, but I love the message. Todd: So you don't think see, I thought one of his best lines was the robot circle jerk line. Yo, it's Carrie: That's hilarious. It's hilarious. Todd: Wait, there's pretty skeleton talker. Come on. Yo, it's Carrie: But I absolutely love his message to the graduates because he's right. He's and I like how he's empowering them, reminding them, like, you know, you have, you know, they love talking about agency. You know, do you have agency? And we do, we all have agency. You can, again, learn this, learn how to use it as a tool. But man, keep your brain sharp. It's up to us to do that. It's up to, you know, the younger people to do it in their work. And if if you want to present yourself as valuable to an employer. than a potential employer, then you need to be valuable. You need to so I I liked the message overall very much. What about ya? Love that. And as a whole, he he talked about the all the divisions and then said, You're fighting for humans. So I love that message. Todd: Right. Fighting for humanity. I think he's right. β Yeah. Yeah. No, and I think I think he's right. I I think right down the line, mostly. I I think there's a little bit of a that no matter what and we we got into this either last week or the week after, but I I mean I think that there's a certain amount of just fear porn because everybody's just we're always afraid of everything new. Hell half the time we're afraid of things old. So I mean that like Yo, it's Carrie: Circle sharp. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Todd: We just th th we we have a tendency to to live our lives in fear of what we don't already know and understand. And so so there's always gonna be that with any kind of a new technology, any kind of a new field. It's always gonna be the I mean, hell, I remember Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Mm. Todd: I remember being just a spry young twenty five year old and hearing that the entire world was gonna end and I had to get water in a two-liter jug and storm in my basement because of Y two K and the computers were all gonna crash and planes were gonna fall out. I listened to programs of these people talking about this and I thought this seems crazy. And nothing happened. So any my my point is that that does exist and that's perennial. Like that's a perennial kind of Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. β my gosh. Thing. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: thing. But what he's saying is we are making something that does seem like it could replace us to some extent. Or or we're trying to get it to replace us in a lot of ways. Like I think one of the big thing is gonna be like interpersonal relationships. Cause I think these AIs are getting good enough that you're gonna have people 'cause like I I I I was talking to my wife Nikki about this the other day. About β Yo, it's Carrie: Mm. Mm-hmm. Todd: You know, like you see it's all over Twitter, all these OnlyFans models and them be making like forty million dollars and it just it kinda pisses me off 'cause I just think and it I also don't understand it. I think, my God, there's a limitless supply of free porn out there. I don't understand what is going on. But but I said to Nikki, I said and she was like hundred percent, I said it there must be some kind of a weird relational element to it that I just I can't even fathom. Like it's I Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. It pisses me off too. Right. β The interaction. Like mm hmm. Todd: You know what I mean? Like you're talking to your same OnlyFans model. It doesn't bother you that you're having to put in twenty dollars or whatever it is. I don't know how it works. But my point is that that it's it's worth enough to you to have a what feels like some kind of a dopamine relational hit off this. I mean, I understand they're real people behind the cameras, but but for all intents and purposes to everybody out there looking at their screen, they're not real. Do you know what I mean? There's no pushback. Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Mm-hmm. Right. β yeah. This is not an authentic this is not an authentic connection. Todd: She's not going to be like, no, go vacuum and take the trash out first before we do. Like, you don't get any pushback. There's no real life. Which which I get that that's porn anyway. My only point is that this kind of takes it and it it kind of makes it interactional and relational, I guess. I don't know. I there's no other I can't come up with any other reason why there'd be this kind of money exchange with the mass availability of it out there. Do you know what I mean? Am I wrong? What do you think? Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Responsive. Sure. Right. Sure. Yeah, that's a really I don't know, that's never thought about it, but that makes sense what you're saying. I mean, if people if what they want, if what they want underneath I mean, if someone wants porn, like they wanna, you know, feel something, they have these lustful urges. But if underneath it, deep down psychologically, what they really want is something else, human connection, and this offers both, yeah, maybe that just explodes, like you said, the dopamine and Todd: Yeah. Yo, it's Carrie: They get hooked on it. But mm-hmm. Todd: Is it is it fair to say to Bill Maher, I agree with you that we need to fight for humanity. I just think that we need to have a decent agreement on what humanity is and means. Because the left, or maybe you could just say the world, has systematically spent the last fifty to a hundred years destroying it to the point that we have a justice on the United States Supreme Court who doesn't know what a woman is. We have Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. β yeah. Todd: These horrible surgeries taking place. We have men dunking on women, wrestling women and women's like we've lost our mind. We don't even know what humanity is anymore. And I do think that that's a real fair thing to say now we're entering this AI age. And and like when he makes the comparison and he says we've emptied the kids' heads, well, it's not just the kids, is my only point. We've emptied the humans' heads, and now we bring in the robots to fill in, and there's a point to that. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Right. Todd: So, what is humanity? Like, what is sex for? Like, is sex for it? Did God have a point when he made it to be a connection between two people to kind of fuel them through life? Because it seems like when we just separate it, the people still go out looking for almost any kind of connection they can get out of it. It's not just the biological, it's not just the urge and the orgasm that they're after. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm. Right. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: The the the connection's deeper that they're after. Now I I think they're missing it, it's all empty. But that's but you can see where it's going, that's there's no other Yo, it's Carrie: Right. But it but that simulation is strong enough that they feel like it's that they're getting what they need. They're really not. They're sadly they're further emptying themselves. They're kind of digging themselves into a hole of a lack of humanity and it's really sad. Todd: Right. But I just think AI just takes that all to just a whole nother level. I mean, now you've got and you've seen it, you've got guys out there that can AI themselves into this hot chick, and they're the ones acting on camera and doing all this stuff, and people are interacting with them, and it's not even the girl. Like, you know what I mean? I'm just saying, like, everything is gonna change, and then you're gonna have Yo, it's Carrie: Really does. Mm-hmm. β my gosh. That's terrifying and gross. Todd: Where it's not even another person because the AIs are good enough that you've got that like remember that Wikin Phoenix movie, Her or something that came out? I I didn't see it either. Well, I saw parts of it, but I don't think I ever saw the whole thing. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yes, I never saw it. Did you see it? I love that actor so much. He's he's really good. I'm I was a I remember being creeped out by the concept of that movie, but the c but the concept of that movie I think is even more relevant now than it was we are. So I was gonna say you talked about this fear porn concept. We're always afraid of, you know, we're afraid of the ad advancement and we're afraid of new things. And Todd, I think what it is is is what we're afraid of. Todd: He is really good. It's real creepy. We're speeding up on that. Yeah. Yo, it's Carrie: as a as a culture, as a group, is we're afraid of the excess, the excess of it of it all. We were like, β like smartphones, this is so cool. But then it's like, β but what if it turns into this? β you know, this gender dysphoria concept. Like it's this, but we're afraid of the excess of it. We're afraid of it infecting like a whole generation. You know, it's it's really the excess that we're afraid of. Todd: Yeah. Yo, it's Carrie: And I think sadly it's fair to say that if you look back on the last five, six years, you know, since COVID especially, I think we've seen some of those excesses playing out. Like it sounds like fear porn, but then it's like, β my gosh, but some of this is happening. So I guess I just I'm trying to reconcile like how much Todd: Yeah. See my concern, I wonder if it won't take jobs as much, but if you think about smartphones, what smartphones did is they were far more pervasive than we expected. So suddenly your job was with you everywhere. It didn't matter where you went, you're de and my guess would be that that in this this ever this this churn for more and more productivity that AI produces and for the deflationary aspects and everything else, that it may be just another β another tool wherein your job Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yes, true. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Todd: comes to it's not that it takes your job, your job comes to dominate your life even more. I wonder about that. Because that seems to be how a lot of things have gone when it comes to tech. Like it used to be in the madmen era, you went home. And when you went home, you didn't have I mean they could call the office all they wanted. They aren't gonna get anybody. There's no emails. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. It was time for a a martini and a whole pack of cigarettes. Yeah. Todd: Well yeah. But that's my point, is it's just it's g it's come to to to take over our lives more and more and probably AI will follow the same pattern, I imagine. I mean there's no reason for it not to, is there? Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Interesting you say that's I don't know. So this week this is just really an interesting direction you took this because this week we had an we had an AI meeting in my office and one and one of the things that we were exploring on the outside, like my first impression of it for myself almost looks like it's more it's generating more work. Todd: Okay. That's what I mean, they'll figure it out. Yo, it's Carrie: I know. And I'm sitting there and I'm looking at it, I'm like, okay, keep an open mind. Like, you know, just maybe it's because it's new and whatever. But a coworker of mine texted me and said, Are is this any of this scare you? And I messaged her back and said, It just seems like it's making more to do and not making it easier. And it was kind of an interesting thing that you just said. Todd: That's why yeah. I d I think that'll be I I think that'll be something that people yeah. Is that they want it it it what instead of what it makes is it's gonna make humans more of a commodity a little bit. Running the AI. Do you know what I mean? Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. Well in I mean, in capital in in capitalism, aren't we anyway? Aren't workers commodities. I mean, that's a cynical view and I don't like to look at it that way. I think if you find a good someone to work for or you work for yourself, then you can stave that off a little bit. But Todd: Or it could. Yeah. To some extent. Mm-hmm. I well, I can only say though, but that now on the other side, it it does provide avenues. The advancing technology, I mean, it provides avenues where we can do something like this. I mean, we couldn't have done this ten years ago. We just couldn't. The way we do this, β hell, I don't know if we could have done this exactly three or four years ago. You know what I mean? I mean, we we were doing that, but then we got to Zoom, but we couldn't share videos and so it's progressed and it's enabled us Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right, right. Mm-hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. Todd: To to to do a tighter show and we can be, you can be in Jacksonville, Florida, and I can be in Michigan, but yet it's like we're together and people feel it and we're watching the same stuff and we're sharing stuff. It it's enabled me to write books, to publish books that are readily available, to have merch, to have all these things that they can kind of tie in. Yeah. Speaking of Todd's World dot net, guys, you gotta go there. There's some great books. β Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yep. I know, it's neat. Yeah. That you can get in two days on Amazon. Todd: My my memoirs leaves the blue way. That's that is a that's a good book. I just β Pastor Darrell just reread it and texted me like at 2 30 in the morning telling me what a great read he thought it was. But β but witnesses out there, witness is great. Insurrection. The the original dude is just fiction, sure. Yo, it's Carrie: β that's nice. I know I wore I wore the I re does friction. I wore it today in hopes of subliminally res inspiring you to write some more witness. So good. Todd: I love it. So I my my point is that there there's there's we take advantage of it. And like we can actually build something where where you can put together a podcast and some books and and you can kind of take it and you don't need a publisher's approval. You don't necessarily have to have a network per se, you know what I mean, that that supports you. You can go out now it's a slog and it's a long slog, and I'm not saying anything about anything is easy by any stretch. My only point is Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. β Todd: It enables you to do something that you couldn't have done ten years ago, you couldn't have done twenty years ago, in anything resembling the same way. You know what I mean? And had the same kind of impact. So so yeah, I mean there there's there's good and bad and there's there's whatever, but β so that's out there. The other thing that's going on, have you heard anything at all about this this Democrat guy running for Senate in Maine? Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Interesting. Todd: He's got like Nazi tattoos. His name is Yo, it's Carrie: so I heard someone refer to someone in Maine, but I didn't understand the reference. So already the dots are being connected. Todd: Well, I I I w I I'm gonna I'm gonna try to get this 'cause I I'm not as familiar with it maybe as I 'cause I haven't been it it goes kind of beyond that. Like this guy is he's just rough, but I got some he he's has all these sexting scandals, β dick pics that he's but he was sending out. Like not very long ago we're talking. Yo, it's Carrie: He has Nazi tattoos? Okay. Todd: And then it was like I he had one Nazi tat he he didn't have a Nazi tattoo, and then it came out that he did have a Nazi tattoo. And so all these people are like, Is that this is not I thought this is what we accused MAGA of. You know what I mean? Yo, it's Carrie: β boy. No. β So what what's his what's he doing? He's running for in Maine for a Senate as a What? Seriously? Todd: He's running for in Maine for Senate as a Democrat. That's the thing. And so like here's James Carville. We know you know James Carville. Yo, it's Carrie: β yay, we haven't seen him in a while. Todd: Might as well be a space alien. Wait till you see these glasses he's wearing. But but β Jake Tapper asked Carville about it. He says, Is this the kind of guy that you feel like you can support? You know? And β of course James Carville, look at those glasses. He's like he ch he just got done playing racquetball. He one hundred percent could be, although Yo, it's Carrie: β no, he's so funny. Mm-hmm. β my gosh. Well maybe he's one of the maybe he's one of the grays. Maybe he's one of the grays. Todd: I'm I'm Pegan Reptilian for Carval. Yo, it's Carrie: I know, I was gonna say maybe reptilian. He's like on the line there. Okay. Todd: With his racquetball glasses. What? Do people even play racquetball anymore? Is it only pickleball? Remember when we were like younger, racquetball was a thing. You'd go in this boxed room and bang bang bang bang bang, these balls bouncing off these walls. Yo, it's Carrie: You know? You know, I think racquetball s I think racquetball still exists in like some country clubs, but β yeah. I don't know anyone who plays, but I feel like it still exists. I have never played racquetball. Okay. Okay. Todd: Mostly it's Why, whack, whack. All right, here's James Garble. He just got done playing raggaball. Yeah. Yo, it's Carrie: My cash. I wanted to know if James Carvell knows what a woman is. Todd: He's not he's not answering that. I gotta find s some more on this main guy. β sure, you got to. He's a Democrat. He's got a D behind his name. Cause Trump. Yo, it's Carrie: So he's saying he would vote for the main guy because because the most important yeah, because the most important thing is to go against Trump. Todd: 'Cause of Trump. So here's β here i th and the and the Democrats are mad because John Fetterman won't agree with him and he won't support the guy with the Nazi tattoo. I I'm telling you, Fetterman Fetterman is an enigma wrapped in a mystery, folks. I d Yo, it's Carrie: He's just wild. Okay. Wrapped in a hoodie. Todd: That's that stroke, the Lord raised him from the dead as something resembling a normal person. Like he's smart and I don't know what happened. Yo, it's Carrie: Neither. Todd: So you can see the guys, it's some kind of a Nazi white supremacist tattoo. I I don't know. Well I don't know. I'm not familiar enough with all the white supremacist tattoos to be able to describe it for you guys. Yo, it's Carrie: Okay, okay. Yeah, I'm not then none of that looks familiar, thank God. You called it! Todd: in his writings. Graham Platner is this guy's name. This this guy running for Senate. And Fetterman is just destroyed. Yo, it's Carrie: You really? Okay. Todd: What he's talking about is he used to Graham Plattiner used to be one of those guys in port a potties that would like draw the the penis. You know, Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. β yeah. Wow. Todd: He he he get he got it finally. I feel like Federman at least stuck the landing there. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. He really did. β I love how he's sitting there too, like so like so thoughtfully. β wow. So I haven't heard about this guy. I just looked him up on X and he describes himself as a combat veteran, Marines and Army, friend of the working maner, foe of the oligarchy, husband and candidate for USN. Todd: Mm-hmm. There you go. This is a this is β a little bit more. This is from CNN on the Platinum, Grand Platinum's his name, the Platinum Scandals. And because they the the Dems were hoping to take out Susan Collins in Maine. Who almost might as well be a Democrat. It's surprising that they're that worried about it, but Yo, it's Carrie: So Okay. Okay. I was gonna say I know. What what is their objection to the rhino in office now? Or is she done? Todd: Fair. So even they're not terribly happy. Yo, it's Carrie: He does she doesn't feel like they've she doesn't feel like they've vetted him properly. Todd: No, I it doesn't sound like it, does it? I mean here's the thing. I'm a little torn on this. I haven't looked into it a ton, but Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Okay. Todd: Graham Platiner is he's he's able to do what he's doing because of the phenomenon that is Donald Trump. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah, you're right. Todd: and and he appeals to people because maybe because he's flawed. Because for so long we were presented these politicians in these shiny plastic humanoid suits like Mitt Romney, mittens. And we know, we know Mitt Romney's not a human. We know if we unzip that bodysuit that something else would crawl out, but nobody knows exactly what. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. He's the reptilian. Todd: But there is something at least, but they then they're also wildly ineffective, right? So i in in addition to being all kind of buffed out by the time we get to them and and having their consultants and saying the right things and whatever, then we get to the point where they're wildly ineffective like they are in California. And so it's not surprising to me that you have people, it starts with Trump maybe, who comes on and they're like, he's a businessman, he can do this, and and and not only Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Todd: They they even Trump's flaws endear him to people because it makes him real in a way that that that Barack Obama wasn't ever real. Now Clinton was pretty real, but Clinton had the same thing. It was those flaws, but kinda you know what I mean? Maybe it started with Clinton, to be fair. Maybe I should go all the way back and say that people were willing to overlook certain things because everybody else was so plastic banana fake and incompetent. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah, you're right. Maybe Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. And I look at Obama though. He was very slick. Like the package was very slick, but he was, I'm gonna say effective, but not to the causes that yeah, not the causes that we feel good about, but Yeah, it's interesting. I see what you're saying though. Todd: You know what I mean? wildly effective, yeah. But do you see do you see how people like like watch this lady? This is the last clip we'll do on Grand Platiner. It's a quick little clip, but this is a voter in Maine. And I I mean I think she's expressing what maybe a lot of people feel. And it maybe and I understand this time it's about a Nazi sending dick pics who's a Democrat. And I understand that's a little far over the line. I'm not saying that I support him. I'm only saying he is at least real. He comes off like flawed but real. Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's kinda A little bit. Todd: You know what I mean? Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Todd: So Yo, it's Carrie: You know what I think, Todd? I think that woman was one of the recipients of one of his dick pics. Todd: No. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Todd: Imagine if she got one from the California Secretary of State on accident. who knows? β well, clearly this guy's made a connection with voters like that. And you know what? People re di there's something to the fact that even when you're flawed, people respond to authenticity. You think? They crave it. Yo, it's Carrie: Cool. Mm-hmm. Yes, I'm I'm and I know that he is more ab about more than just this tattoo, but I'm very curious about the tattoo. Is him showing it? Is he has he defended it? Has he said this I regret this tattoo? I'm curious what his current stance is on a white supremacist permanent mark on his body. Todd: You know, I don't know because I don't have any clips of him talking about it, but maybe next week I'll see if I can if we can update the story. And listeners, guys, if you have any comments, share β That that will help us. If you're from Maine and Yo, it's Carrie: I'm pretty okay. I'm just kinda curious. I β yeah. β my gosh. I would love to hear from someone in Maine. Todd: Yeah. And and maybe you know what? Maybe you support the guy and you can tell us why. And then maybe I'd say, Okay, I can see why you do. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. We we can be open minded. I didn't know they were called mainers. Hey, mainers out there. Todd: I didn't either. I had no idea, actually. So I want this is one more. I got two more things. And then we're gonna call it a day. One more Bill Mar thing. This is a short one. I just want to I want to get your reaction to it. Okay. I'm not gonna I I don't think this this doesn't require much setting up. He pretty much gets straight to the point. Cold Bill Mar. Okay, let's do that and that. Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. All right. All right. Cold Bill Mar. I'm ready. Ha ha. Todd: What do you think, Gary? You think it's true? I mean I that's what the that's what the data, the surveys and things say. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah, that's what that data. β you know, I don't know. I feel like among the people I know, I don't feel like there's a decline. I feel like the people I know for the most part support it in you know, sup support it in a like a personal way. Like because most people like know somebody, are related to someone and are like, Yeah, I know their partner and they're great and they should be allowed to Todd: Okay. Yo, it's Carrie: set up a lifelong relationship and household and family together. So I don't know. I I haven't I haven't felt a decline. Okay. Yeah, what β mm. Todd: gonna p I'm gonna put this back up so we can look at the graph quick. β because he he's got that graph sitting there. β which you can kinda see. I don't know if I I can't what's interesting is how you see it. If you can see my little my little β cursor it it it it went up like everything else for the most part. Over in other words over the last Yo, it's Carrie: I think it's all of the adjacent and and I'm so curious. Yeah, I'm curious about Uh-huh. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: Over our lifetime, certainly over the last twenty or thirty years, the acceptance of of same sex relationships or same sex marriage is maybe what they're trying it gay marriage is really what they're talking about. So I I also think that there is a difference possibly between Republicans' view of gay marriage and Republicans' view of gay people. Do you know what I mean? And and I'm not sure that Yo, it's Carrie: Yes. Mm-hmm. Okay. Yes. Yes. So I guess it's just not something I have a lot of input on personally. What are the other lines? What are what are the gray and the blue lines? Like independence? Okay. Todd: Blue I think is Dems and and Gray I think is independence and I just Yo, it's Carrie: It kind of looks like all of them have come down here at the end. A little, I mean. Todd: A little d right? S they've certainly tailed off. The Dems have at least plateaued and the independents have tailed off some and the Republicans have tailed off sharper. Why do you think that would be? Do you have any idea? 'Cause it goes back, I don't know, you know, twenty two Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Well, I was gonna say, yeah, what where did it what year is what year is that that it like peaked and then started coming down? Is that 2017? β okay. Gotcha. So I don't know, Todd. I'm gonna say I think it's all of the other it's all of the L B G T adjacent issues. And and β Todd: It looks like twenty one or twenty two. It's so small I can barely read it. Yo, it's Carrie: Everyone, you know, we've we've heard people say like it's just being crammed down our throats everywhere we look and in all of our entertainment and all of our, you know, agendas in school and all this stuff and Pride Month and those kinds of things. And so maybe that has had an impact and it kind of made conservatives, made Republicans just like swing the other way, like I I don't even I don't like any of it anymore. I don't know. That would be my my speculation, why. Todd: Yeah. I would g I would suspect that it has a lot to do with trans. I think that that the overreach on that. In other words, I well we talked about this before. I said I was one of those people who it did come up for a vote. Gay marriage came up for a vote in Michigan. This was a while back, and I I want to say it was β five or something, or something like that. I voted against it. Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. Mm-hmm. Todd: But at the same time I was I was I didn't have any passion about it. Do you know what I mean? I just felt like they should if if if gay people want to have these relationships, they should be able to to have some kind of civil protections and and whatever, but I didn't feel like marriage was the best route for it. You know what I mean? β anyway. But I but I wasn't all that opposed to it. All the the the conservative Christians that I grew up with that have been around a lot of my life. Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. Yep. Okay. Mm-hmm. Todd: Talking about the slippery slope and how v if you let this one go, everything's gonna go. I thought I didn't really buy it and then I think it has proven to be true. In fact, I think it's proven to be worse than what they said. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. β I yeah, I don't even think they had any idea where it was going. Todd: So suddenly now pedophiles are just, you know, that's a the th that's just kind of a sickness. Yeah. Yeah, it's not their fault they like kids. Yo, it's Carrie: It's just a preference just a preference. Yeah. They don't even call it a disorder. They're just calling it like a it's just their yeah. Todd: The trans thing, we're mutilating kids, we're cutting chicks breasts off guys well, I mean John Federman calls them dicks off. That was what Yo, it's Carrie: You called it a like how she's like making sure that β the audience knows she's quoting him. She's not saying it herself. β Todd: The entire thing has just been a wild overreach. And I don't think that Americans Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Teachers teachers hiding from parents their child's, you know, activities at school, their identities at school. Yeah. Todd: I just don't think Americans respond well to that kind of overreach and that and I think they feel like they were kinda lied to a little bit about I we thought you just wanted to get married and be together and be not that you wanted our kids, not that you wanted to turn my little girl into a little boy. I didn't know that was on the agenda. You know what I mean? And so Yo, it's Carrie: No. Right. Right. And I don't think that was the community. I don't think that was the gay community. I think that was something else. Todd: It may not, but I at this point at this point it it has radically affected them. So but see I think the problem with with the gay community with the LGBT, whatever it is, community, is that they can't bring themselves to ever everything for their entire existence has been about gaining acceptance and being accepting in their minds. I don't think they can bring themselves to cut off this piece that I think is going to destroy them and drown them. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah, it has. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Todd: Do you know what I mean? By saying, listen, we're not into the trans thing. We're not you can't do this to kids. You can't do and and I it they're just in a position where I don't know that they know how to denounce things much anymore, other than Republicans and God and Christians. Do you know what I mean? So I I i I think it's a problem for them. I that's my that's my feeling on it, is I think it's I think it's it was an overreach, the pendulum is swinging the other way, and they don't know what to do about it. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm. Right, they can't denounce it. No. Right. Yeah. Wow. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Todd: You know what I mean? So we'll see. We'll see what happens. We'll see if the pendulum continues to swing the other way. We'll just see what happens. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. They don't even know how to denounce countries that would like, you know, execute them for their lifestyles. Todd: Right. That's the problem. Like you see it in England. You see we'll import people who will kill us, who will rape our kids, our daughters. That's fine. The most important thing β the other thing I saw is that like it had a list of countries, the largest recipients by nationality in those countries that received welfare. It was it was a bunch of different countries. Every single one of them was Somalians. Every single country. It wasn't just the US. Like I have that right here. I'll find it. Let me let me β Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. What? Wait, what it β my gosh. Okay. Yeah, I need clarification on what what Todd: Hold on, let me find it because it wasn't a clip. It was just a it was just a post. And I here it is. Here it is. No, never mind. That was the Republican same sex thing. β here it is. It it went the Republican thing, it it's better on here. It went from fifty five percent in twenty twenty one. In twenty twenty two it was still fifty five percent. So this is Republican support for same sex marriage. Yo, it's Carrie: Need clarification on this statistic. Every okay. Every country okay. Mm. Okay. Todd: 2024 46%, 2025, 41%, 2026, 37%. So just to clarify. And then the Somalian welfare thing. β I should play that Erica Kirk thing. I forgot about that. β Where is that? I I can't find it right now. It was β anyway. I it was it was a d cause it was JD Vance talking about it. I had a J maybe there was a JD Vance clip that went with it. I know it's right here. Yo, it's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Okay. Todd: I just did it this morning. Here it is. β way two people. Let's hear what JD Vance. It is a clip. 37 second clip. Let's hear what Vance has to say about it. Because he's going to do a better job of it than I am. It just floated through my mind that I had seen that. β here we go, JD. Hillbilly elegy. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah, I'm curious. Somali problem. Damn. Todd: And we know there's a shit ton of fraud. So let's Yo, it's Carrie: Right. You know, it's it's a great point that he made. Even without the fraud, like there's still a problem. Like it's clear a clear indication. That's a that's a high number. Todd: Yeah. A huge problem. And yeah, what I had seen was a post that had multiple countries in Europe, here, wherever, and it was the same story everywhere. And it was by nationality, the Somalians were the were the largest cult collectors. So that's that's that's interesting. β I want to play this and see what you think about this. This is Erica Kirk. She was at a turning point USA something. I I I honestly don't know what it was exactly. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Wow. Yep. Okay. Todd: Some you know, something where she's standing up and they probably shot off fireworks at the beginning. Whatever. Whatever they do with those things and whoever they're for. this is Erica Kirk. I just want you to hear what she has to say about what she's gone through and her kids and let's just listen. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. I was gonna ask, okay. Okay. Todd: Whoops. What do you think, Gary? Yo, it's Carrie: I I mean I agree with what she's saying. mm-hmm. I think it's pretty good. I yeah, I don't know the the the slow mo is there like a delay on yours or is just slow from what I see here? Todd: Erica. Yeah, pretty good. No, I don't I I think it was maybe just slow. I don't know if it was I don't think there was a delay. Yo, it's Carrie: So it's like I could hear her. Okay, the video was slow, like what I could see. And so like her eye like right there, her eyes, like she looks all so intense and dramatic. β but Todd: Well there's also there's also a difference between the video behind her and her speaking. Do you know what I mean? Do you wanna hear it one more time? β you got it. Okay. Yo, it's Carrie: β got it. Okay, then that's no, and I could no, I could hear it perfectly. And I think β I mean I I think Right. She does. She does. But I like what she said. It's sad. It's sad. β it's sad that her kids are gonna have to, you know, see all that. And ho hopefully hopefully they'll grow up and just be like, I don't wanna Todd: Well her her eyes always look a little like right there. She looks like she's about to shoot lasers out of β So I mean maybe. Who knows? Saint Charlie's wife is capable of. Yo, it's Carrie: I don't wanna read the lies and all that, but I think what she what Todd: Do you think it's possible that ten or twenty years from now, her kids could think, boy, I wish mom had just been mom for a while. I mean, is that possible? Is it is it am I crazy to think that such a thing might might run through their mind? Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Well, I think she are you do you are is that your way of saying that you don't think that that's what she's doing for them? You mean 'cause she's out Todd: Well, I don't know. My my I've said before that I think she was thrown into something that she shouldn't have been. Now it's come out that Charlie wanted her to be. I don't think I'm not sure that that has anything to do with anything. But I guess it did to turning point USA. Yo, it's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Sure. I guess. I mean I think she r I mean she loves her kids. I'm sure she's there for them. β I think she's, you know, justifying being out there that her kids are gonna look and be like she was out there holding the reins. You know, she took the reins, she stood up for our dad and I mean, is that kinda what's happening? Todd: Well, they'll certainly be conditioned to think that, whether or not I don't know. Having having lost a mom fairly young, not as y not obviously as young as them. β but my kids were real young. You know, when they lost my my parents and grandparents and β But you know what I think is I think that we're we're not very good at predicting what our kids are gonna be interested in or not interested in anything that they're gonna think. Yo, it's Carrie: Right. Right. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. Yeah. That's that's a very good point. Right? Todd: That's what I think. I'm pretty β it you know, I watched that and I thought feels a little self serving to me. But whatever. Maybe maybe it's fine. Maybe β you know she's going through a lot, so whatever it takes to get yourself up and going in the morning, I suppose. Yo, it's Carrie: Well. Even when she Even when she says things on paper that we can agree with, β I think we always feel that the presentation of it is a little self serving. I mean Todd: I still feel like I might get shot by like heat rays out of her eyes and I don't know how that could even work. I'm just watching a clip on my computer. Yo, it's Carrie: She's like Todd: Well listen, one last little funny thing. Now this this is a a β you know Trump Trump drops these these random like memes or videos and I just I just love them. They're just like hopefully this one's okay. Sometimes I get β YouTube gets real mad and and like β they're copyrighted, but I think how could it be copyrighted? He put it out to millions of people on a tweet, you know what I mean? Yo, it's Carrie: Hm. Okay. β no. β no. Takes them down. Okay. All right. Todd: So let's hear let's watch this little one minute clip of β of the greatest president the world has ever known. Donald J. Trump. Ha ha. They got Trump on a camel, guys. Yo, it's Carrie: No, are they they're not gonna paint him up, are they? β my gosh. Todd: Ha ha ha ha. I love that Trump posts this. Yo, it's Carrie: Serious on the mood. Todd: The UFC in front of the White House. Yo, it's Carrie: Anime Donald Trump. Todd: Ha. He's riding a lion. Yo, it's Carrie: Nice. Todd: All he does is win. There he is on Mount Rushmore. Yo, it's Carrie: β no, there he is on Mount Rushmore. Okay. I'm a little relieved that he wasn't painted up in the aboriginal. Like I was like, β no, it's coming. I'm so afraid. But no. That was funny. Todd: Yeah, they didn't go quite that far. So great. I love Trump. We may we may probably we'll probably never get another one like this, guys. So you better enjoy it. I understand it makes people like the crazy Nazi in Maine possible, but I promise you he's nowhere near as entertaining as Donald Trump. There will not be another one of those. So Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah, that's true. Yep. That's funny. Todd: Enjoy it. Enjoy him while he's here. Suck it up while you're getting your four dollar and twenty five percent gas. At least we got good memes. I love Trump. I think he's doing well. I hope we can patch up this Iran thing quick and get back to fixing America and setting up the golden age. That's what I'm all about. What do you think, Carrie? Yo, it's Carrie: Soak it up. At least we've got good music videos. Yeah. I hope so. Yeah. Good stuff. He's capable. Todd: He's amazing. He's hilarious is what he is. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. Fix the elections, man. That's what I want. Todd: Me too. All right, guys, listen. Tomorrow, while β Beers with Jesus, join us, knowing the flood. We go through the Bible stories, but we don't do it like your typical, it's not preachy, it's not like your typical boring ass Bible study. Like you know, workbooks. We just go at it. So anyway, this this show is kind of a kind of an extension where we take our our worldview, which we're Yo, it's Carrie: Yes. The blood. We don't have a workbook. We don't have a workbook. Todd: we're kind of talking about through the stories of the Bible, but we're trying to apply it to the news of the day and the culture of the day. And we're trying to find the threads that are running through it. And I think we do a pretty good job. But I mean it's entertaining, of course. Come on, guys. But beers with Jesus is entertaining too. But hopefully a little bit more informational. Hopefully you walk away from it thinking, I never looked at the story that way. Because i if there's something I think that we do pretty well in beers that's different than a lot of people is we we dig into the story and we kind of get the story. Yo, it's Carrie: Yes, it's fun. Todd: out of it. Like we we bring our imaginations, we find the story, and within that I think we f I think God reveals Himself to us. At least he has to me and does to me over and over again. Yo, it's Carrie: Definitely. He has to me too. It's been really it's it's been fun. I love it. Todd: So come hang with us and get to know God. I think that what could be worse? It's I promise you it's not boring. Okay, listen, and subscribe, five star reviews, whatever you can do for us, send clips to your friends. The only way we're gonna grow is if you guys help us. So β thanks for joining us today. We'll be back here next week on Tuesday. Check out Todd'sworld.net. Get a book, I'm telling you, just give insurrection the first insurrection book a try. Yo, it's Carrie: Yeah. All right. We'll see you then. Todd: Operation Last Stand or Witness the Vanishing. Just either one. Give them a shot. And I'm telling you, you'll read the rest. All right, guys. Thanks, Gary. We'll see you. We'll see you guys tomorrow and then we'll be back next week. See ya. Yo, it's Carrie: Yep. Do it. Love it. Thanks, Todd. You tomorrow. Sounds great.
