- 0:01All right, everyone. Welcome back to yet another
- 0:03episode of the Buckbuster podcast where we talk
- 0:06about anything and everything hockey. Can you
- 0:09say bye with the episode anymore? Because at
- 0:11this point, we do whatever we can. So that's
- 0:13what I'm just going to start saying. Welcome
- 0:14to the next episode. Anyways, I'm Kyle, surrounded
- 0:17by my co -hosts. How's it going? In the silence,
- 0:22you can tell that Colin is here. But first things
- 0:26first. so that ended up being what three weeks
- 0:29we took off instead of or like two we took off
- 0:31instead of one for those of you that don't know
- 0:34or aren't from here we got hit with a pretty
- 0:36massive snowstorm got hit with about five six
- 0:38feet of snow within the last two weeks of course
- 0:42literally like the weekend of what was supposed
- 0:43to be the next recording get into the studio.
- 0:49I couldn't get into the studio, aka I couldn't
- 0:52get home. It was to the point where, you know.
- 0:56You said I'm staying at your parents' house for
- 0:57like two nights, didn't you? I went over Friday
- 1:01and I didn't get, I wasn't able to get at least
- 1:04on my road until like Monday, like lunchtime
- 1:08-ish. Yeah, I left Friday morning. Bobo had to
- 1:12help, like Bobo and one of our mutual friends
- 1:14had to help push me out from the end of my road
- 1:17because It wasn't piled between Friday when it
- 1:21started snowing, and Monday, or at some point
- 1:23Sunday night. I mean, they called all the kids
- 1:27off of school Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. The
- 1:30kids only were in school one day last week. Wow.
- 1:33I mean, Wednesday they went to school, Wednesday
- 1:36night when I left work, I got a text from my
- 1:40boss that said, no school Thursday because of
- 1:42a blizzard warning. We got the other two and
- 1:44a half feet of snow Thursday. Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 1:48Literally, because last year, our Eerie's entire
- 1:52full winter was about roughly 26 inches. Just
- 1:58on Friday alone, we simply surpass that in one
- 2:01day Not quite as bad as the Blizzard of 2017
- 2:07Some areas the eerie didn't but some I know some
- 2:11areas did but eerie. Well, yeah considering in
- 2:142017 the airport when we got only got like three
- 2:17or four feet but like album Just south of 90
- 2:20They got the full five and a half, six feet,
- 2:23seven feet. Trust me, when I was living out with
- 2:25my parents, we got the full seven feet. It was
- 2:27the opposite this year. Didn't Waterford only
- 2:29get like a foot and a half compared to we got
- 2:30like three and a half? Yeah. I know Waterford
- 2:32or like the surrounding areas, you know, Wessieville,
- 2:35Harbor Creek, Gerrard, I know they got hit the
- 2:37second time, the second wind. The city was first
- 2:41half and then the outskirts were second half.
- 2:43Yeah. Remind me, once we go on break here, I
- 2:45want to try something in the backyard. Oh boy,
- 2:48okay. So, once we go on break, once we get rolling,
- 2:51that's the way. Also, like I said, as I was saying,
- 2:54with that break, hope all of our American friends
- 2:57had a happy Thanksgiving. Hope you got to spend
- 2:58time with your families. Thankfully we did because
- 3:01the storm didn't come until after Thanksgiving,
- 3:02so we at least got to spend Thanksgiving with
- 3:04our families. I know my girlfriend had family
- 3:07in town from Pittsburgh that didn't get to go
- 3:09home that weekend because they couldn't get out
- 3:12of where they were stuck at. So, it's pretty
- 3:15wild. Yeah. We haven't gotten any extra snow
- 3:18here in a call like a couple days now, so I can
- 3:41imagine. Being on a janitor, I have to do the
- 3:45snow blowing shit when no one's there. You wouldn't
- 3:48know about six inches. You don't know about six
- 3:51feet. Yeah, you're right. I'm like six feet from
- 3:53the edge and I'm thinking. Anyways, moving on.
- 3:59Bubba likes to do analogies that nobody knows
- 4:01what the fuck he's talking about. Anyways, like
- 4:04I said, hope you guys had a happy Thanksgiving
- 4:05and have to spend it with your families. Yeah.
- 4:08Moving on, let's talk some otter talky. Otters
- 4:10have been pretty good, doing decent since our
- 4:13last recording. Our last recording wouldn't have
- 4:16been since what, the 15th or something? Our last
- 4:22recording would have been on the 17th. So otter's
- 4:30game is going back to the 17th. On the 20th against
- 4:35the Steel, we had back -to -back home wins against
- 4:37the Steelheads and the Greyhounds. 7 -4 and 6
- 4:40-3 respectively. And then we lost two in a row
- 4:42to the attack. Or the Rangers in the attack.
- 4:47All four of those games were at home. So we went
- 4:502 -1 -1 in that span. The overtime loss coming
- 4:52to the attack. And then one game was postponed.
- 4:55And then one ended up being the Saturday, the
- 4:5730th, like I said, that weekend. We got hit with
- 4:58all that snow. The game against the Firebirds
- 5:00was postponed. Then these last three road games
- 5:03happening this week Thursday Friday and Sunday
- 5:06Against the Steelheads yet again, but North Bay
- 5:09Sudbury and the Steelheads four to three overtime
- 5:11win against the battalion five to two loss against
- 5:14Sudbury and then just earlier this afternoon
- 5:16of recording Sunday the eighth Five to four win
- 5:20over the Brampton Steelheads. So that was overtime.
- 5:23I don't know why that doesn't say OT win Yeah,
- 5:26either way a wins win It's two points. So in
- 5:29that span, we went what? One, two, three, four,
- 5:32four, four, two and one in that span. So it's
- 5:36our 500. And so we're winning games. We're getting,
- 5:40you know, getting some overtime losses. So we're
- 5:42still getting points too. We are what? Still
- 5:45fourth in the conference or in the third in the
- 5:47division, fourth in the conference. Yeah, they
- 5:49still are. Yeah, fourth in the, yeah, fourth
- 5:51in the conference, third in the division. Cause
- 5:53Kichner and London were the two best teams in
- 5:56the league, I believe. Yeah Kitchener and London
- 6:01two best teams in the league and then Windsor
- 6:05Barry Oshawa Yeah Top three teams in the league
- 6:09all come from the Western Conference. So yeah
- 6:12that kitchen was that shutout. That was a rough.
- 6:15That was a rough game. That was Definitely our
- 6:20worst game we've played I think all season that
- 6:22was a rough game and then since that's recording
- 6:25the Peterborough Pete's Four more wins. Hey,
- 6:29they're five 19 1 4 at 15 points It's right here
- 6:34in London at 23 and 5 just ended their what 19
- 6:38game win streak just Peterborough has been eliminated
- 6:43from the 2025 I wouldn't doubt if they already
- 6:47have to be completely honest and one thing it's
- 6:49been just fun in general That's been gone for
- 6:53the last two seasons Easton Cohen like having
- 6:57that like 56 -point point streak man. It's ridiculous.
- 7:01I actually just found something on that like
- 7:06literally like I thought was kind of interesting.
- 7:09I have it somewhere. I just had it brought up.
- 7:13I think I might hang on real quick. But yeah,
- 7:15there's an insane like just between actually
- 7:19I'm sorry 55 -point streak but like out of all
- 7:23the teams like he has Eight points against, like,
- 7:26it was broken down based off all the teams. He's
- 7:31gotten a point off. Barry, he's gotten eight
- 7:33points. Three goals in. Branton, he's got two
- 7:39points. Brankford, one. Erie, five. Flint, five.
- 7:45Guelph, nine. Kingston, one. Kitchener, ten.
- 7:51North Bay, two. Oshawa, three. Ottawa 1, Owenstown
- 7:5611, Peterborough 2, Saginaw 11, Sarnia 8, Sioux
- 8:046, and Windsor 10. Damn, that's ridiculous. Yeah,
- 8:08this is just between this year and last year,
- 8:12starting from November 18th of 2023. Is it still
- 8:18active or did he finally get one without? It's
- 8:21still going. Obviously he... i know he got i
- 8:25knew he was in the 60s of consecutive games 56
- 8:28games regular season regular season games because
- 8:31i know he didn't get a point after he because
- 8:33he got hurt yeah he got he got a goal early in
- 8:38the game but then got hurt off a hit. It was
- 8:42a clean hit. Yeah, he just got caught with his
- 8:44head down. I know they both were shucking off
- 8:46because they both did not return to the game.
- 8:48Yeah, the other guy went off because he, number
- 8:51one, he had to get stitches because apparently
- 8:52Cohen's visor hit him like right on the cheekbone,
- 8:55had to get stitches. And then number two, he
- 8:57was pulled for concussion protocol. Oh wow. And
- 9:01then I don't know Cohen's injury extents. I think
- 9:04they just pulled him just to be safe. Just to
- 9:05be safe. Yeah, which I understand, you know,
- 9:08for a top prospect, you know, a COVID or for
- 9:10anybody of that stature, like... I know he had
- 9:14already gotten his point that game, but I mean,
- 9:16like, even if he hadn't, like, that's probably
- 9:17the least... that's the least of your worries
- 9:18at that point is, oh, when you keep him in, you
- 9:20got to keep the points you're going to get. That's
- 9:23your least of your worries, you know, your health,
- 9:25you know. Your number one star, your biggest
- 9:27foe now, this early in the season, is his health.
- 9:30Yeah. I don't give a fuck whether you like the
- 9:32guy, hate the guy, like the team, hate the team,
- 9:35whatever. Number one priority is always your
- 9:37health. It doesn't matter. I think what's kind
- 9:39of cool is former Maple Leaf, Doug Gilmore actually
- 9:43shot him out because he... Oh, did he? Easton
- 9:46Cohen actually passed, broke, tied his point
- 9:50streak, even though it wasn't... Oh, really?
- 9:52Even though it wasn't... They're not... Because
- 9:55he did Doug Gilmore did in 1960 with the Royals
- 10:00when they were a team back in the 60s on the
- 10:04OHL like but like the OS is not counting as like
- 10:08he broke it because there it was off two seasons,
- 10:11but But at least it's impressive he kinda hit
- 10:15that mark of that punch. I mean, that's amazing.
- 10:18You love to see something like that in our league,
- 10:19you know. We've gotten to watch him play, obviously,
- 10:22being eerie a couple times with the Knights and
- 10:23stuff, so. And depending how bad his injury is,
- 10:27he'll be in town on the 18th and that. I try
- 10:30to plan on being a Dyke. That'll probably be
- 10:31the next game I go to, so. I think that's one
- 10:36thing that's been fun with. watching the London
- 10:38Nights is like seeing like his points streak
- 10:40going. We don't necessarily like the team as
- 10:42a whole but watching him specifically it's been
- 10:45it's been insane it's been fun and it's been
- 10:47crazy to be able to watch him play. Even with
- 10:49him being in and out of the lineup with injuries
- 10:51and then of course being caught up to Toronto
- 10:54for preseason. That's ridiculous, it's insane.
- 11:00But yeah, I thought that was kind of one of the
- 11:02things that's been cool watching, currently.
- 11:04Yeah, and for Eerie specifically, one of the
- 11:07most fun things I've seen so far this season
- 11:08is Matthew Schaeffer in his second season. He's
- 11:11been, this kid's been unbelievable. He's been
- 11:13so much fun. He's still only 16, 17 years old
- 11:16and he's playing like some pro players would
- 11:19be like. That assist he had to Malcolm Spencegold
- 11:22just earlier this afternoon. That like coast
- 11:25-to -coast goal he had in that CHL versus the
- 11:28United States challenge or whatever it was. He
- 11:29looked really good in those games. Malcolm Spence
- 11:32looked really good in those games as well. Yeah,
- 11:34he did. But Schaeffer had that incredible game
- 11:38-winner the other night and on Thursday... Against
- 11:42North Bay, yeah. That was a really nice game
- 11:45-winner. I think he like broke up a play and
- 11:48then got a break away and then just... I had
- 11:50a feeling, in my heart I knew he was gonna score
- 11:52that. Like, getting him on a breakaway is like
- 11:56getting Patrick Kane or getting Sidney Crosby
- 11:58on a breakaway. It's almost guaranteed. I think
- 12:02it was kind of funny when we talked about milestones.
- 12:07I think it was kind of funny. We were all arguing
- 12:09over with our season tickle or if that sits in
- 12:13front of us during the, when Sam Alfano got his
- 12:19hat -trick or like in Schaeffer. Schaefer was
- 12:24looking for his hat, a hat trick in that game.
- 12:27He's like, I want to see a Gordie Howe hat trick
- 12:30for Alfie. I was like, I want a Schaefer hat
- 12:36trick. Either Schaefer hat trick or Alfie Gordie
- 12:40Howe hat trick. Alfie ended up getting the actual
- 12:44hat trick. We're talking about a completely different
- 12:47game. It was that game. It was that game. But
- 12:54uh, yeah, I mean I mean the only thing I still
- 12:55think that the auditors need to work on is defense
- 12:58They have looked a lot better It's it's that
- 13:02second period saw man. We and it's always it
- 13:04seems like we're always giving up Goal like when
- 13:07we have like a two three goal lead We won't give
- 13:10up those two three goals in the matter of a period
- 13:11and have two periods We'll give up that lead
- 13:13in the matter of like four minutes like we just
- 13:15boom boom boom give up three goals back to we
- 13:17did that earlier this afternoon yeah we're four
- 13:19to two going into third they scored two goals
- 13:20within the first like four minutes of the third
- 13:22period and immediately tied it up i was like
- 13:24motherfucker but um one of the people that we
- 13:27shat on a lot early season and last season have
- 13:30stepped up immediately you know Owned a little
- 13:33bit of an apology to Nicolas all Amigo who's
- 13:35been looked looked very very solid He's very
- 13:39much impressed or improved from last season.
- 13:42He's he's looking really good Which granted it
- 13:44isn't much to say consider, you know, you there's
- 13:47only one way way to go up from rock bottom That's
- 13:50up. Yeah, so like I know it's not saying much,
- 13:54but still like there's improvement Improvement
- 13:56is improvement is improvement. I think we ended
- 13:58up cutting Keegan Knight, which I think he was
- 14:01one of the rough patches of our defense. One
- 14:06of the holes in our defense. I get it. I get
- 14:07it. He's still a rookie now. Same with him. Imbrogio
- 14:10is still young. Imbrogio is still very inexperienced,
- 14:13very young. He's still got a lot to learn, but
- 14:15he's got a lot of good guys in front of him to
- 14:17learn. Two of our, most of our biggest guys are
- 14:21good. Guys to learn from are gone, you know.
- 14:23Sova's gone. Obviously Cameron Morton is gone
- 14:25for a couple years now. OJ. OJ's gone now. Really
- 14:29the main vets that are on that on the blue line
- 14:33right now is obviously would more likely be Sodder
- 14:37and that because Sodder? Yeah, Sodder would be
- 14:39the number one go -to. He is gone now. He has
- 14:42also improved a lot from his rookie season. He
- 14:44also had a very, you know, a rough rookie season.
- 14:48Not rough, but just not, not... good but not
- 14:50horrible nothing right but uh last season you
- 14:53know i think i had called it you know um we he
- 14:57ended up getting like a scrap in the scrimmage
- 14:59game whatever thing he got into a fight or whatever
- 15:01i said i wonder if he that's just just to prepare
- 15:03him to be more you know more physical and that
- 15:05ended up candid getting into a couple fights
- 15:06last year so i ended up being right on that i
- 15:08know he's he's gone very physical i've seen him
- 15:10make a lot of great hits just all around defensively
- 15:13he's he's been looking really solid too so um
- 15:17just more or less that third line where you know
- 15:18the Cool players come in and out, you know, home
- 15:21ego doesn't I don't think still don't think he
- 15:22plays every game, but you know, he goes in and
- 15:24out with Ambrosio No, but now that with Keegan
- 15:28Knight gone now, I do believe homing has been
- 15:30more full -time now. So well, no Home ego has
- 15:34been a full -timer. Yeah, and with Schaeffer's
- 15:37you'd be not starting with mono and with Schaeffer
- 15:41in and out with you know, World Juniors and you
- 15:43know being with Canada It's Ambrosio that's more
- 15:46in than out. Is it? Okay. Cause I think the pairings
- 15:48would be Shave and Thot, Henry, and Homago, and
- 15:55then Daz and Ambrosio. Okay. Daz is the only
- 15:58one that has not been the best this year. That's
- 16:01okay. That might have been who I was thinking
- 16:02of. He's been hit or miss. Daz has been just
- 16:06not the best. He's been good decent. Been...
- 16:11I can't speak. He's been decently good ever since
- 16:15he came over in the Kyrie trade. But this year
- 16:18he's just not doing too well. Not as well as
- 16:21he was in last season or the second half of the
- 16:24season where we got him. But I'm still very excited
- 16:28for this Otters team and to see what they continue
- 16:30to do the rest of this year. This is usually
- 16:33where we have the rough patch of our season.
- 16:36December January slump, but we got out we've
- 16:39gotten out to such a good start. I don't think
- 16:40it's gonna be a problem No, and the same but
- 16:44we're being there and the experience that a state
- 16:46of Butler has behind any bench You know, I feel
- 16:49like any team that he's a part of for these,
- 16:51you know the bench boss I feel like there might
- 16:54be one or two bad games here and there, but the
- 16:57next game it's going to be a good response from
- 16:59the boys and you're going to be able to keep
- 17:01moving forward and keeping the spot that you're
- 17:04in, the position that you're in. We said when
- 17:06we first hired him, he didn't make his first
- 17:08appearance behind the bench until mid -February
- 17:10of the 22 -23 season, so he only had maybe just
- 17:14over a month to get that team. end of the right
- 17:17headspace you know help them work on their discipline
- 17:19and they have definitely worked on their discipline
- 17:21a lot and we also what happened last year his
- 17:24first full season as coach we make the playoffs
- 17:25are the first time in what eight seven eight
- 17:27seasons so and i even remember him saying like
- 17:31in his first interview with the team he's like
- 17:34even when the otters were already out of the
- 17:37playoffs he was just like because like even the
- 17:40guys who are on the main roster he's like He's
- 17:44like they're not no one is safe and that like
- 17:47he's like he's like I'm watching everyone. He's
- 17:49like Sure enough. He's like And I even said like
- 17:54when he had his full season last year. I'm like
- 17:58I'm having when it's him having a full CF I expect
- 18:02he's gonna do really good and sure enough look
- 18:04what happened there back in the playoffs It's
- 18:07great to see man. Hopefully hopefully hopefully
- 18:10hopefully Make it back to back years here. So
- 18:13I'd love to see that and hopefully into the second
- 18:16round this time around I don't know we end up
- 18:19end up making them out I assume and would hope
- 18:21we don't drop as far as eighth place So we should
- 18:24end if we stay like that four to six range have
- 18:26a pretty even matchup like we did last year against
- 18:28Kitchener I think we're I think we should be
- 18:31okay. I Hope we stay more towards like three
- 18:34or four. I know it's it's gonna be tough catching
- 18:36Monday in Kitchener, but like even just to have
- 18:40that whole nice advantage in the first round
- 18:43of the playoffs. When you ever listen to these
- 18:46interviews from the Autos players and they talk
- 18:49about playing in that building in front of their
- 18:52fans, you can tell they get so much energy, so
- 18:56much motivation to play better at home versus
- 19:00on the road. I feel like home ice adventure.
- 19:04And we've even seen some of these road games
- 19:05I've been watching. We even still show a good
- 19:07amount of energy in those too. Also, we saw Schaeffer's
- 19:10shushing out the crowd after his game winner
- 19:13the other night. It's just taking it to the next
- 19:15level of, you know, how much better can they
- 19:18be, again, in the EIA. There's always one more
- 19:22gear you can go. And they always seem to show
- 19:24it at any area versus anywhere else. Other than
- 19:29London, because, you know, London. It's London
- 19:31vs. everybody. No, it's London vs. the Salts.
- 19:38I can't say that. Anyways, Jeff, hit us with
- 19:42your milestones from the OHL this week. For the
- 19:45past three weeks. Going back on to November 20th,
- 19:49Sam Alphano of the Yarders gets his first career
- 19:52OHL hat -trick vs. the Brampton Steelheads. They're
- 19:59on the 21st Mike Levin of Seattle crackins prop.
- 20:03Um, I'm sorry Seattle prospect Andre Lascaux
- 20:11gets his first career actually Gets his first
- 20:15career hat -trick and then Mike Levin of the
- 20:18Niagara also got a hat -trick in that game as
- 20:20well against the Sioux On the couple multiple
- 20:27in November 22nd Alexander Balicky of the Kitchener
- 20:31Rangers gets his first career OHL goal versus
- 20:33the Windsor Spitfire Mason Fekari of the Kings
- 20:38and Frontenacs played in his 100th career OHL
- 20:41game versus Peterborough Pete's Sam Bo bonus

- 21:26Erlandon's first assist was off of Henry's first

- 21:34Hughes of the URIs gets his first career OHO
- 21:38goal. First to sue Great Allens. I'm really liking
- 21:42that kid. He's got a lot of energy and he's still
- 21:45obviously young too. The Boston College Comet
- 21:49and only 18 years old. He's got a lot of good
- 21:52energy. He's saying this year, he wants to be
- 21:57very well -developed before he gets ready to
- 22:01go to Boston. But he's looked pretty good. He's
- 22:07going to be fun to watch for the rest of the

- 25:39Saddle my spirit head coach Chris Lozare gets
- 25:43his 200th career win in versus Oshawa generals
- 25:47That's all we have for the OHL milestones That's
- 25:56it yep, yeah, we're gonna take our little Studio
- 26:00time out here, I'll be right back with you. Alright,
- 26:03let's jump into some puckdoku. Alright, going
- 26:08across the columns we have Dallas, Vegas, and
- 26:11St. Louis. For the rows going down we have Carolina,
- 26:16Detroit, and 500 plus penalty minutes in their
- 26:20career. So we could use Ryan Reeve, probably
- 26:24Vegas or St. Louis for penalty minutes in a career.
- 26:27Him and Robin Bertuzzo. Bertuzzo for the blues
- 26:31and then Ryan Rees for the Golden Lids? Yeah.
- 26:36I would assume, I can only assume that they have
- 26:38that many. Definitely Ryan Rees. Yeah, 60%. Will
- 26:46Bertuzzo have that many? Yeah, okay. One percent.
- 26:51Jamie Ben probably, I know has probably quite
- 26:53a few too. But how many? That's the real... I
- 26:57mean, he's been around for, what, 20 years now,
- 26:59so... I can only assume he has at least 500 by
- 27:02now. I'm trying to think where else. Cam Ward
- 27:07for Carolina Dallas? The Cam Ward? No, Cam Ward
- 27:10despite his whole career. Nevermind. Yeah. Yeah,
- 27:16we'll save that Jamie Ben one for at the very
- 27:18end there. Perron for St. Louis and Detroit.
- 27:24It can be Vegas, Detroit too. We can hold on
- 27:27to someone in our back pocket for... I'm just
- 27:30trying to think who was drafted in the expansion
- 27:33draft for Vegas from both Colorado and Detroit.
- 27:36You mean Detroit? You mean Carolina and Detroit?
- 27:39Yeah, that's right. They both start a C, okay?
- 27:46As long as you don't burn down the whole city
- 27:48of Colorado. Alright. My body loves it, I won't
- 27:51do that. It's a state I Mean I feel like which
- 28:03one would be Easier for Peron us to put on for
- 28:08us to put brown under the Detroit Vegas or Detroit
- 28:12st. Louis Probably st. Louis because Vegas being
- 28:17in the newer team they might have more names
- 28:20Well, they did have less names because they're
- 28:22newer I cannot think for the life of me of who
- 28:27they would have taken from Detroit. Did James
- 28:37Reimer ever play for St. Louis? I don't think
- 28:54so. What about Vegas? Oh! Detroit St. Louis on
- 29:02Billy Huso. Oh, yeah. I was just about to say
- 29:05goalie tandem. And now we can put Perron under
- 29:07Detroit Vegas. Good pull, good pull. Yeah. I
- 29:11was thinking goalies for Detroit, like... Wait,
- 29:15Detroit Vegas. Yeah, Perron, yeah. I think their
- 29:18expansion, their first year, they had like five
- 29:20former Penguins on their roster at one point.
- 29:22I think now Seattle is the same way. I think
- 29:24Seattle has like four or five former Penguins.
- 29:26Could Dallas, Detroit be another goalie? It could
- 29:30be. That's what I'm trying to think. How many
- 29:33different goalies Detroit has gone through. That's
- 29:36what I'm thinking. Did Talbot play under Dallas?
- 29:41I know he's jumped around. I don't think he can.
- 29:43Can Talbot? I don't think so. He's always stayed
- 29:46closer to the border. I knew he bounced around
- 29:49a lot. I just couldn't remember. I think the
- 29:53furthest south, the KM number one was LA. I think
- 29:57that's the furthest south he's ever been. LA,
- 29:59Philly, Edmonton, Calgary, Detroit, Minnesota,
- 30:05nothing is Chicago. I said, if Carolina was where
- 30:19Dallas was, it would have worked. Yeah. Because
- 30:25we're already blanking, I'd say put Jamie Ben
- 30:27under the 500 point one. I would assume he's
- 30:31gone that many for as long as he's been around.
- 30:34Yeah, OK. All right, so we just need Dallas,
- 30:38Detroit, and then all of Carolina's rural. So
- 30:41Carolina, Dallas, Carolina, Vegas, Carolina,
- 30:43St. Louis. Maybe like defensemen are coming to
- 30:53mind. Brent Burns was Minnesota, San Jose, California.
- 30:59Was Gensel, was anybody before that? Where all
- 31:03has Dougie Hamilton played? Where was he before
- 31:09Carolina? New Jersey. Toronto. I don't know where
- 31:15else. Who's Carolina's goalie tanker now, with
- 31:27Freddie being out? That's a great question. It's
- 31:31Peter Kachekov and I have no idea who their backup
- 31:36would be right now. Or if somebody else is the
- 31:40starting, Kachekov is the backup. He's down right
- 31:44now. Well, either way, Freddie was Columbus,
- 31:49Toronto, and Carolina. So it can't be him. Trent
- 31:53Anderson played for Columbus? Really? No, Anaheim,
- 31:57sorry. Anaheim, Toronto, Carolina. Who would
- 32:01Vegas have taken from Carolina? Tim Thomas was
- 32:07only ever Boston and Dallas. I believe so. Well,
- 32:11why don't we start with who is? Ben Bishop was
- 32:14only ever, I know, Tampa and Dallas for sure.
- 32:18I feel like he played for a couple teams beforehand,
- 32:21but I'm trying to remember who the teams were.
- 32:23Who's Carolina starting five? Could it be a possible
- 32:27forward, maybe an offenseman, and not a goalie?
- 32:30That's what I'm trying to think. I'm trying to
- 32:31think of who they would have taken in the expansion
- 32:33draft. I'm trying to think who they're starting
- 32:36out with. Who else is Ron Hainsey? Who else did
- 32:43he play for? You just pay for Carolina for a
- 32:46little bit Pittsburgh Toronto Do you ever play
- 32:50for any of those three teams? My best guess out
- 32:54of those would be st. Louis St. Dallas I feel
- 33:02like there's one that's like current that's on
- 33:10one of those teams If for some reason the Carolina
- 33:15st. Louis is screaming goalie, I just I Don't
- 33:19know who what are you thinking? Initially says
- 33:24so that you got undress event. Oh, oh me in Carolina.
- 33:27That's Andre's fishnick of Andre only in Carolina.
- 33:31What about Evgeny's fishnick of? Washington Detroit
- 33:38Carolina Do we want to throw Ron Hainsey out
- 33:45there for one of those? Who do we feel better
- 33:48on? Dallas or St. Louis? I'm saying New Jersey.
- 33:54Dallas. New Jersey Dallas? Or Caravina. For Ron
- 34:00Hainsey? Yeah. Go for it. I would say more St.
- 34:04Louis, but if you were more confident with Dallas.
- 34:08No. Okay. Detroit Dallas. I don't think Scott
- 34:16Wedgwood was ever with Detroit. I know he left
- 34:28Detroit. Where'd he go? I don't think it was
- 34:32Dallas so it doesn't help us. Was it Utah? Buffalo.
- 34:45Bounders. Vegas. D -Deputy with Detroit at one
- 34:49point. I don't think he ever played for Carolina
- 34:53though. I saw he doesn't - he doesn't help. I
- 34:55don't think so. Another one I'm thinking is Thomas
- 34:58Grice. But I don't think he would fit anywhere.
- 35:03I'll say Brodor don't fit anywhere. Damn, this
- 35:08is a tough one. Oh, um, what did Ron Francis
- 35:12play? Carolina, Pittsburgh. Did he ever play
- 35:18for St. Louis at one point? I don't know. I don't
- 35:22know. And do we have any other guesses? Yager
- 35:30would only be Dallas St. Louis. Yager? Yager
- 35:35didn't play for St. Louis. No, not a minor. What
- 35:48about Penguin's legend Riley Sheahan? I know
- 35:52he played for Detroit too. Did he play for Dallas?
- 36:01I'm thinking Matt Cullen because he's done Carolina.
- 36:06Where else would he fit there? Carolina, Minnesota,
- 36:09Pittsburgh. This one's a tough one. Do we just
- 36:18want to throw Ron Francis for Carolina St. Louis?
- 36:23I don't think it is, but no. Wow. I think we
- 36:30give up on this one, and I know we might do a
- 36:33second one. No. Then, yeah, yeah, I have no clue.
- 36:52Okay, yeah, we gave up. Only five out of nine
- 36:53on this one. That's rough for us. Max Domey.
- 36:57Oh, Justin Falk. Max Pacioretti. U .C. Okanin.
- 37:00Ray Whitney. For Carolina Dallas. Kevin Hatcher.
- 37:07For Vegas. Max Pacioretti. Noah Hanifin. So recent,
- 37:12too. William Carrier. Nicholas Waugh. Chris Pronger.
- 37:20Rod Brendan -Morpens. Fucking St. Louis? Apparently.
- 37:24Since the fuck when? It's funny, I said them.
- 37:26Tom Barrasso. Ian Cole. Yeah. I think we could
- 37:29have eventually gotten there. What about Detroit
- 37:32Dallas? Like McDonald, Brett Hall, Trevor Daly,
- 37:36Sean Avery, Brad Richards, Vlad Dmystakov. Steve
- 37:40Ott. Brendan Smith. Yeah. Wow. That was rough.
- 37:44Oof. Let's go back to like the main menu there.
- 37:50See if we can do a different day. That was a
- 37:55rough one. Let's do the Pyramid, the Puck Deco
- 37:59Pyramid. Right there in the middle. Let's try
- 38:03this one. Alright. And then every time we fucking
- 38:07struggle. Alright, 50 point season at any point
- 38:12in their career. We can literally do anybody.
- 38:15As long as it wouldn't take up the other category.
- 38:17I say do Cindy Crosby, because Cindy Crosby doesn't
- 38:19fit in anywhere else, so. All right, so any Swede
- 38:27to have a 50 -point season? Timo. He's Finnish.
- 38:33Was Alfredson Swedish? I think it'd be Eric Carlson.
- 38:38That's where I was. Yeah, OK. That was my...
- 38:41Because he wouldn't fit up top, because he didn't
- 38:43play for the Rangers. A five -goal season. Anybody
- 38:47scored? Was Alfredson Swedish? I know Matt Sundin
- 38:55was Swedish, I think, wasn't he? I'm almost positive
- 39:00Matt Sundin was Swedish. Yeah, okay. Alright,
- 39:10so Rangers, Swede that had a 5 -goal, 50 -point
- 39:14season. Mika, is he a... Zabanajad? Yeah. That's
- 39:18what I was trying to figure out the first time.
- 39:19Is he Swedish or is he...? I'm trying to remember...
- 39:21I know he's Swedish. Dammit, my manager's even
- 39:25Swedish and he would know this. I'm trying to
- 39:29think of other Swedes. What was Messier? He was
- 39:32just Canadian, wasn't he? Yeah. It's 9 .30. My
- 39:35manager's probably drunk at this point. I love
- 39:39him, but he's probably fucking drunk. Because
- 39:41Zabanajad came from... Did he come from fucking?
- 39:48Yeah, so I think he would fit at the top right
- 39:51So saves advantage out from the top because he
- 39:55came from Ottawa Because he was on that that
- 39:5817 team that yeah penguins beat out Yeah, so
- 40:02he would fit at the top there. Yeah So realistically,
- 40:06I think we could probably use our two lifelines
- 40:08here and then take the top one for me because
- 40:10a bandaged film blank do fill in the blank that
- 40:17doesn't fucking help no it does not oh marcus
- 40:21nazlund i believe you're the spelling oh you
- 40:38answered there Yeah, and then use it could use
- 40:44the other life on here for the 50 -50 Michael
- 40:49Nylander Eric Gustafson Well what nationalities
- 41:04are Well, what will you diameter and now it's
- 41:07time under that's what that's why I'm pretty
- 41:09sure they're Swedes I said I thought they were
- 41:12Swedes Normally the double s is a Swedish thing.
- 41:17I thought a Double s in a name like that. I thought
- 41:19that was a Swedish. I'm just not familiar with
- 41:22Michael Under that Some relation at least relationship
- 41:29wise if they're related I say Nylander Nope.
- 41:36It was Gustafson, wasn't it? Which one? Oh no!
- 41:47Oh, shit! Do the 2025 one. Yay! And was it Sabanajad?
- 42:00Again, yeah, damn it Shit and we actually knew
- 42:08it too. That's what's the cross on Hedman Sandin
- 42:12both the Dean Twain Slaver Well, I was gonna
- 42:15say I thought the double S's was a Swedish thing.
- 42:18I don't Cross me was a popular pick too. That's
- 42:24funny Letting anybody that had a 50 -point season
- 42:27Kane Capri's on a bedard The list goes on and
- 42:31on and on. Brad boys I saw there. Svech. Only
- 42:35one person used Andrei Svechnikov. 90 Ben Ears
- 42:39Dawson Mercer. Let's do one more random like
- 42:43Puckdoku. I think that bothers me the fact we
- 42:47knew it. Hold on. Let's go far. Let's go back.
- 42:51First ever date. July 1st, 2023. Alright. Fuck
- 42:54it. Oh, okay. For the columns, we have the Penguins,
- 43:00Calgary, and $5 million or more in free agency
- 43:04in 2016. And then we have, in the rows, Boston,
- 43:08Vancouver, and the Oilers. Okay, Penguins, Bruins,
- 43:16Penguins, Oilers. Just Schultz, yeah. I was thinking
- 43:22Archibald, but... And then Cam Talbot for Edmonton.
- 43:28Or would he, when did he sign with Edmonton?
- 43:31Would he go with the Edmonton for agency category
- 43:33on this one? And then we could do Mike Smith
- 43:34for, we could do Mike Smith or Cam Talbot for
- 43:37either, all for the Edmonton Calvary. Yeah, but
- 43:40when did they switch? I don't remember. Cause
- 43:42it was, no it was a trade. Was it just a trade?
- 43:45Okay, okay. So. Vancouver Calgary Chris Tanev.
- 43:59Pittsburgh Vancouver Brock McGinn. Brock McGinn,
- 44:06Nick Benino, Brandon Sutter. Yes, Brock. Brock
- 44:12McGinn. That's still one of my favorite school
- 44:18calls. Did he not play the game yet? He might
- 44:22not have played a game yet. I doubt we're gonna
- 44:25get the other three, so. I swear he did, and
- 44:28that's why... Pittsburgh, Boston, Iginla. I was
- 44:33gonna do Yager. I was gonna do Yager for the
- 44:35Boston Calgary one. Well, we can do Yager or
- 44:40Iginla for... Added one. Oh yeah, true, true,
- 44:43true. Who would have signed as a free agent with
- 44:49Boston in 2016? I feel like that might have been
- 44:52the year that was that the year that um, Luke
- 44:54Cheech went over there to Boston? Or would that
- 44:58have been way before that? No, he was already
- 45:00in Boston. Cause remember he went... But did
- 45:02he sign with him? Would have been right around
- 45:05the time that he signed another contract there.
- 45:08Like extended his contract. He wouldn't have
- 45:11been a free agent. Nah, he would still have been
- 45:13on his rookie contract in that year. Try to think
- 45:17of people that would have went to Edmonton in
- 45:192016. No R &H, I think the Hall might have just
- 45:24been leave right about time. He'd been leaving
- 45:26Hall would have been leaving McDavid would have
- 45:29been on his rookie contracts R &H R &H Well,
- 45:35he was drafted in what 2012 well, so he might
- 45:39have been but might have been his contract here
- 45:42I See throw the gets either because I don't know
- 45:46if we're gonna get the other two No, no, no,
- 45:49no other one other one that's possible Nope,
- 46:03okay. When did Tyler Myers leave Buffalo to go
- 46:05to Vancouver? It was, I think it was 18. And
- 46:11I'd be like the only decent guess I would even
- 46:15have, so. Yeah, all right, if you listen stats
- 46:22aren't available from before July 25th Damn all
- 46:28right well we got six six six and then five and
- 46:32then we got almost got a perfect on the pyramid
- 46:34Cuz we just clicked the wrong name All right,
- 46:39all righty I'll do my or do that first we do
- 46:44my milestones first All right So I switched mine
- 46:50up, I changed mine up a little bit. Instead of
- 46:52going by dates, I split mine off into categories
- 46:55for like first goals and goal milestones, point
- 46:59milestones, games played, and then assists, and
- 47:02then wins for like goalies and stuff. Starting
- 47:06off with goals, and I don't have the dates. These
- 47:08are for, you know, particularly in pretty good
- 47:11order from time of date, but I don't have the
- 47:13exact dates that these all happened. This is
- 47:15shortly after we took our break Alex Ovechkin
- 47:18recorded his 31st career hat trick. Those were
- 47:20goals 864 865 and 866, you know, just what 20
- 47:25shy of Gretzky's now I think that he got injured
- 47:28like shortly after I think that that's when he
- 47:30got injured like two games after that I think
- 47:32he got a goal in that game. He got hurt didn't
- 47:34he he did So he's at at least like eight sixty
- 47:37eight sixty nine by now Zachary Lajero of the
- 47:41Nashville Predators scored his first career goal
- 47:43against the Canucks. Frazier Minton of the Toronto
- 47:47Maple Leafs scored his first career goal against
- 47:49the Golden Knights. Callahan Burke scored his
- 47:51first career goal against the Montreal Canadiens.
- 47:54And then Sydney Crosby scored career goal number
- 47:57six hundo against the Utah Hockey Club. Yeah
- 48:01baby! Six hundo. Emile Andre of the Philadelphia
- 48:06Flyers scored his first career goal against the
- 48:08Vegas Golden Knights. Cole Reinhardt of the Ottawa
- 48:11Senators scored his first career goal against
- 48:13the Calgary Flames. Nico Hescher finally recorded
- 48:16his first career hat -trick. Tyler Clevin of
- 48:21the Ottawa Senators recorded his first career
- 48:23goal against the San Jose Sharks. Britt Berard
- 48:26of the Rangers scored his first career goal against
- 48:28the Hurricanes. Crevier of the Chicago Blackhawks
- 48:32scored his first career goal against the Dallas
- 48:34Stars Taylor Hall recorded his fifth career hat
- 48:37-trick that one was his first since 2013 -2014
- 48:41season when he was an Edmonton oiler so he never
- 48:44scored a hat -trick for the Devils never scored
- 48:46a hat -trick for Boston or Arizona or It's in
- 48:51Boston the short time. He was there obviously
- 48:53for Buffalo for the four games. He played there
- 48:57Britain Point recorded his fifth career hat -trick
- 48:59as well Ethan Cardwell of the San Jose Sharks
- 49:02scored his first career goal. Fedor Svechkov
- 49:05of the Nashville Predators scored his first career
- 49:07goal. Owen Pickering, obviously of the UR Pittsburgh
- 49:11Penguins, scored his first career goal against
- 49:13the Panthers. And Tyson Kosak of the Buffalo
- 49:16Sabres scored his first career goal against Utah.
- 49:20Moving on to the point milestones, Kale Marker
- 49:23recorded his 100th career multi -point game.
- 49:26He's been leading for, what, six years and he
- 49:28already has a hundred career multi -point games.
- 49:30That's ridiculous. Max Sassen of the Vancouver
- 49:34Canucks recorded his first, recorded an assist
- 49:37for his first career point. Yaroslav Asgarov,
- 49:40yes, the goaltender of his San Jose Sharks recorded
- 49:43his first career point. Timo Meyer recorded his
- 49:47400th career point. Lucas Raymond recorded his
- 49:50200th career point. And Mac Chuck recorded his
- 49:53600th career point. And then games played this
- 49:58is where we have the most for by far Ryan Nugent
- 50:00Hopkins played in his 900th game along with Ryan
- 50:02Strom also played in his 900th career game Claude
- 50:06Giroux played in his 1200th Zach Hyman played
- 50:08in his 600th Noah Anifin 700 Cam Talbot 500 OEL
- 50:15and William Carlson both 700 as well And then
- 50:18Kevin LeBanc Mikhail Sergeyev Jesper Bratt and
- 50:21Turbo Tanev Brandon Tanev all played in their
- 50:23500th Mitch Marner and Ryan Hartman in their
- 50:27600th, Dougie Hamilton in his 800th, Cindy Crosby
- 50:31in his 1300th, Michael Kesselring in his 100th,
- 50:35Mike Sullivan coached his 700th game, and Anzai
- 50:38Kopitar played in his 1400th game, which fun
- 50:41fact about that... Split right down the middle
- 50:43for 700 played at home 700 played on the road
- 50:46at that point I found that very crazy like you
- 50:49would think oh But he had to have missed a couple
- 50:51games here and there or been injured or you know
- 50:54out with illness whatever But they just still
- 50:56happen to be he's played the exact same amount
- 50:58of home as he is on the road I found that pretty
- 51:00wild Assist milestones Mikael Graham and recorded
- 51:09his 400th career in assist with an Apple to a
- 51:13Jake Wallman goal. Dylan Larkin recorded his
- 51:16300th career assist. Victor Hedman became the
- 51:20franchise leader in assists for the Tampa Bay
- 51:22Lightning with 590, passing Saint Louis who had
- 51:25588. And then Quinn Hughes became the Vancouver
- 51:29franchise leader for assists by a defenseman
- 51:32specifically with 311. For wins for goaltenders,
- 51:37Jake Allen recorded his 200th career win. Yaroslav
- 51:41Askarov the guy I mentioned earlier also in the
- 51:44game where he got an assist he also got his first
- 51:45career win in that same game So what a game for
- 51:49him The boy we love most out of anybody Jordan
- 51:53Bennington becomes the Blues franchise leader
- 51:55in all -time wins with 152 Did so in 298 games
- 52:01and in that span he has 16 shutouts Eric Portillo
- 52:06of the Los Angeles Kings recorded his first career
- 52:08nhl win in his first in his debut his first game
- 52:11he played he gets a win and then jackson stobber
- 52:15baby back baby back baby back bitch bitch uh
- 52:20jackson we're talking about bittington not not
- 52:21portillo portillo didn't do anything uh jackson
- 52:23stobber of the utah hockey club isn't portillo's
- 52:26i like a chain a food chain i think so like on
- 52:29the like like eastern west coaster like mountain
- 52:33time with the middle coast Then Jackson Stauber
- 52:37of the Utah hockey club recorded his first career
- 52:39shutout that also being the first shutout in
- 52:42Utah hockey club franchise history Really wait,
- 52:49there's one Florida Portillo's. Yeah brain brain
- 52:53and that's only that guy Oh, I can't say that
- 53:05stuff on the air. SHOOT! I could've watched a
- 53:09friend of Porto's this whole time. Damn. I'm
- 53:12sitting there like, I don't know what to do anymore.
- 53:16Oh, there's Porto's. I remember. It's just this
- 53:19fancy, not this fancy chain. Hold on, let me...
- 53:22It's not fast food, but it's not like a five
- 53:23-star restaurant. Okay. Sounds like an olive
- 53:27garden? TGI Fridays and Jimmy John's had a kid.
- 53:38It's a Friday style, like setting, restaurant
- 53:42setting. But these serve fancier Jimmy John's
- 53:45food. Okay. Interesting. That would be actually
- 53:48really cool to check out. Well, I know you said
- 53:50you have a couple of blind rankings for us, correct?
- 53:53I have. Two of them. Two? I'm gonna pull it up
- 53:56here on the big screen here. Okay. First one.
- 54:02Cup losers over the past two decades. So this
- 54:05goes back to the Daniel Schell walkout. Teams
- 54:08are these? Teams. Okay. Penguins? How are we
- 54:11ranking them? Based on... Based on what? Based
- 54:16on overall skill and team. Based on how good
- 54:18the team was. How good was the team? When they
- 54:22play in that cup final, okay, or that that seat,
- 54:25but these are specifically cup losers cup losers
- 54:28Okay, okay. So like yeah, okay So like if I were
- 54:32to pick the the 16 17 national predators, how
- 54:35would be right? So the first one up is the 2014
- 54:402015 Tampa Bay London Okay from what I remember
- 54:46this was definitely not the best Team the banks,
- 54:51I don't think they had Kuturov yet If he did
- 54:57he was young he was like 19 20 years old if they
- 55:00did Stamacose was still fairly young like probably
- 55:0324 or 25. Stamacose was the captain at the time.
- 55:05Was he already the captain? Ben Bishop was in
- 55:08the roster. They lost not to Corey Crawford But
- 55:11no, this is the first cup that Corey Crawford
- 55:14was the number one goaltender in Chicago Who's
- 55:19the number one in like 10 and 13? Not Crawford,
- 55:22I can't remember who else but either way the
- 55:2614 -15 Tampa Bay Lightning I'd put them right
- 55:30in the middle just to start off. I think right
- 55:32in the middle Yeah, Sam Coats was still fairly
- 55:35on but this is still pretty much in his prime,
- 55:37you know when this I think this is one one two
- 55:40years post 60 -goal season, I Believe cuz I think
- 55:44he did that in 2012 I think right in the middle
- 55:48is like fair. Yeah All right, the the bubble
- 55:53canadians the 2002 uh 2020 2021 canadians the
- 55:58cinderella run they had or the beginning of the
- 56:011920 season No, the 21. That wasn't the bubble.
- 56:05The bubble would have been the star. The full
- 56:10COVID season. You got the Canadian division and
- 56:15then on west, central and east. Just with how
- 56:17much of a Cinderella run it was, I want to say
- 56:19five. They had no business getting that far.
- 56:22They had no business getting that far. And then
- 56:27see how they played the year after and how they've
- 56:29played ever since. Yeah, that was a fluke and
- 56:31a half. All right, the 2006 -2007 Ottawa Senators
- 56:37when they lost in 6 to Anaheim, 7 to Anaheim.
- 56:41Either way, they lost to Anaheim. Okay. I'm not
- 56:45too familiar with how good that team was. I know
- 56:47Alfred Senpai was still better in that team.
- 56:48You had the pizza line. Pizza line? So it was
- 56:53Danny Heatley, Alfred Sen, and Spezza at the
- 56:57time. A young Spezza. Wow. That was known as
- 57:00the pizza line. Okay, I did not know that. For
- 57:03whatever reason, whenever all three of them got
- 57:06on the board, everybody got a free size pizza
- 57:09at the local establishment right down the road
- 57:11from the arena. Okay, that's why they call it
- 57:13the pizza line? Yeah. That's cool. Yeah, they
- 57:17were like the HBK line at their time. Only because
- 57:20I feel as though he might give us a really good
- 57:24one and then a really shitty one. So I almost
- 57:26want to put this at two. He could be fun was
- 57:30I'm gonna give us two extremely shitty ones after
- 57:32this, you know, it's when they're putting the
- 57:34fucking Next up the inaugural the 16 17 Vegas
- 57:41Cold Nights the best of the best players picked
- 57:59out already it's kind of that i've seen that
- 58:01it was their their first year as a franchise
- 58:03and they went all the way to the cup final the
- 58:05first team i think to ever do that in their inaugural
- 58:07season and they lost in five to two capitals
- 58:11yeah i'm just just seeing just especially seeing
- 58:14that they were down to a what a fucking sixth
- 58:16goaltender at one point i remember i think it
- 58:19was uh it was flower suban i think uh lagase
- 58:24at one point Oscar Dansk at one point. It was
- 58:28honestly Dylan Ferguson at one point. They had
- 58:33played I think seven or eight different goaltenders
- 58:35that year. I would put them at one. That team
- 58:40was just seeing that they were able to get to
- 58:43that point minus all the goaltending, not struggles,
- 58:48but just all the problems that they faced in
- 58:50between the pipes. That's pretty impressive for
- 58:53them. So at the number four spot, you guys would
- 58:57put the 2008 -2009 Detroit Red Wings. Ethan will
- 59:03be pissed at you! He will be pissed at you! He'd
- 59:06be pretty upset. I mean, that was a great tease.
- 59:09Honestly, I mean, again, I don't know how good...
- 59:15The Senators were, I wasn't quite like religiously
- 59:20watching hockey when the Lightning lost that
- 59:22year in the 14 -15. I didn't start religiously
- 59:24walking hockey until like the season after. Honestly,
- 59:31if we bumped Detroit up, I think swap them out
- 59:33anywhere between two and three, that'd be a perfect
- 59:35list. I think we did well with the Canadians
- 59:37being down there. I think we did perfect with
- 59:39the Golden Knights being up there. I think the
- 59:41Golden Knights were better than Detroit, but
- 59:43I think Detroit is debatably better than both
- 59:462 and 3. So we could have swapped Detroit and
- 59:49Ottawa. Technically the official rankings, if
- 59:52we can change it, would be 1, 4, 2, 3, 5. Yeah,
- 59:55I think 2 and 3 are interchangeable. I don't
- 59:57think there's much difference. Honestly, 2 and
- 59:593 and 4 are interchangeable, honestly. I think
- 1:00:02Detroit could drop as low as 3, but I think they
- 1:00:04realistically probably could have been at 2.
- 1:00:06Yeah. Because you still had all this time in
- 1:00:09there almost when we're getting older like Linstrom
- 1:00:11is also getting older Zetterberg was starting
- 1:00:13to get up there dot sick was getting up there
- 1:00:15in age Alfredson wasn't quite there. Yeah, I
- 1:00:18don't think he went over to like 14. Yeah He
- 1:00:21only played one season there cuz out of those
- 1:00:23five the one I'm not familiar with was the centers
- 1:00:26just because I was just start still was just
- 1:00:31Starting to get in the hockey at the time. That
- 1:00:33was rough I've been going to more honors games
- 1:00:36at the time, but I was not familiarized with
- 1:00:39players. At that time, I was only really paying
- 1:00:44attention to the Penguins and the Sabers at the
- 1:00:46time. I have there's pictures of me being three
- 1:00:51four years old sitting in front of the TV watching
- 1:00:53the penguins with my dad But that's three or
- 1:00:55four. I don't know what the hell is going on
- 1:00:56But um, you know, I remember like I said, I think
- 1:00:59I told the story before I remember back when
- 1:01:00we won in 09 The way our house was set up I sat
- 1:01:03at the end of the hallway where my room was and
- 1:01:05could see the TV So I just sat at the end of
- 1:01:07the hallway and could watch us watch us win the
- 1:01:09cup that year So I remember doing that. Um, so
- 1:01:12I I have friends like family friends that I've
- 1:01:14known for a long time to live down in Pittsburgh
- 1:01:17And I remember during that run, the magical run
- 1:01:21in 08 -09, we went down, my family and I went
- 1:01:25down during the semi -finals playing the Capitals.
- 1:01:31And I think this was game two when the Dueling
- 1:01:35Hat Tricks. That one was in Washington? Yeah.
- 1:01:39Okay, but you went, okay. It was in Washington.
- 1:01:42We went down to visit the family friends and...
- 1:01:47Just the whole family that lived in Pittsburgh
- 1:01:50went nuts during all three Crosby goals. They
- 1:01:54went nuts. They were so pissed off when Ovechkin
- 1:01:57scored at the time. I believe Ovechkin came first
- 1:02:01because I think Crosby's... I think we were still
- 1:02:04down by two and then Crosby scored his third
- 1:02:06with 30 seconds left and a wild scramble in front
- 1:02:10of the net. It didn't matter but it did because
- 1:02:12it was a hat -trick. We started up losing the
- 1:02:15game, obviously. I remember that game, too. I
- 1:02:19remember it. But instead of doing back -to -back
- 1:02:22blind rank, because I have something, two little
- 1:02:24fun things for us to do, too. These are just
- 1:02:2712 players. The ages of the NHL stars when Marc
- 1:02:30-Andre Flurry made his debut. Oh, I saw this.
- 1:02:34I saw this. Leon Dreisaitl was seven years old.
- 1:02:39Austin Matthews and Connor McDave were both six
- 1:02:41years old. Kill marker was four years old Hello,
- 1:02:45I've just met an actress a marker now Quinn Hughes
- 1:02:48was three years old. Jack was two coke. Hallfield
- 1:02:51was two Tim Stutzla was one and then you're a
- 1:02:56Shlokovsky Matt V Mitch Cobb Connor Bedard and
- 1:02:59Macklin Celebrini were all not born yet I remember
- 1:03:04the like when salt like when San Jose was facing
- 1:03:07off against, you know, you know, so I think furry
- 1:03:09was playing yeah in that game and And I think
- 1:03:13the stat popped up as the youngest player ever,
- 1:03:16like in NHL, celebrating, and scored against
- 1:03:19the oldest player in NHL. And I also have a little
- 1:03:25bit of a guessing game for you guys. These are
- 1:03:27the franchises that have defensemen as their
- 1:03:31all -time assist leaders. I just mentioned one
- 1:03:34of them earlier. Vancouver with Quinn Hughes.
- 1:03:39And then Victor Headman's Tampa. Yeah, what Jeff
- 1:03:43you said? He might have been Vancouver must have
- 1:03:47just been passed because this is the Vancouver's
- 1:03:50not on this list yet. So this must have been
- 1:03:51posted. Yeah, so that's probably why I mentioned
- 1:03:56one earlier, which said which I mentioned Victor
- 1:04:00Headman at 590. John Carlson with Washington
- 1:04:05was he be no high? Chris the tank should be up
- 1:04:09there with Pittsburgh. Nope. This is all -time,
- 1:04:13this isn't current. Well I'm saying. That's why,
- 1:04:17that's why we're both. You were thinking that
- 1:04:19Latang has more assists than Michael Muted? Oh
- 1:04:22you said defenseman. Yeah this specifically franchises
- 1:04:24with defenseman as the all -time assists leader.
- 1:04:27Oh, okay. I'm sorry, I thought you meant, you
- 1:04:31know, defenseman, specific defenseman franchise,
- 1:04:33not overall. Overall. Okay, now I understand.
- 1:04:37So specific franchises that have a defenseman
- 1:04:40that leads their franchise and assists. Not Anaheim,
- 1:04:44not Arizona, when they're a franchise. Not Boston.
- 1:04:49Boston's a toss -up. I don't think Boston, because
- 1:04:53it would be Chara. Charlie McAvoy, but McAvoy
- 1:04:56didn't pay a lot. Ray Borg, wouldn't it? Ray
- 1:04:58Borg is the number one, actually. Buffalo. It's
- 1:05:02just by any defenseman. It's 1 ,111. That's a
- 1:05:05perfect number. 1 -1 -1 -1. Buffalo, that wouldn't
- 1:05:09be a thing. Carolina, that wouldn't be a thing.
- 1:05:12Calgary, that wouldn't be a thing. Would it?
- 1:05:17Carolina? No. Calgary? Calgary. Oh, that would
- 1:05:22be Marjorie Vanna then. No. Who would have been
- 1:05:27the other, like, top career defenseman out there?
- 1:05:32I'm trying to think of all their def... Because
- 1:05:35I know Chris Tanner wouldn't have been that high.
- 1:05:39Yeah, I'm thinking, like, the more, like... This
- 1:05:43would have been, like, 70s, 80s. Maybe one of
- 1:05:48them would have been into the 90s. I was gonna
- 1:05:49say, this side of... Cheer down. I wouldn't have
- 1:05:52wouldn't have happened. No, like I'm sorry cheer
- 1:05:54down. It would have been the last great defense
- 1:05:55during their big old cup runs there I I don't
- 1:06:12know about yeah, I'm not too familiar out prior
- 1:06:16to it is mr. Alma Guinness You're missing what
- 1:06:23two three six seven eight Colorado no wouldn't
- 1:06:30be a thing cuz came our hurt would be a big thing
- 1:06:34Carabine and now they really haven't had many
- 1:06:36superstar defensemen Colorado Dallas That allows
- 1:06:44their their start like demon are way too young
- 1:06:47so no no way Detroit. Niklas Lindstrom is the
- 1:06:51first person that comes to mind. He's not on
- 1:06:53the list. Really? The Russian Five. Where's Ethan?
- 1:06:58Where the fuck is Ethan? Detroit is not on the
- 1:07:00list at all. Detroit? Okay, that makes it easier.
- 1:07:03But regardless, where would Ethan be? E -F -G
- 1:07:08-H -I... I'm trying to think of... because Toronto
- 1:07:12has had a lot of good defensemen over the years.
- 1:07:15Toronto is on the list at three, but who is it?
- 1:07:17Dion. No. I'm between it's tough when they're
- 1:07:21original six fucking he would have been also
- 1:07:25like 60s 70s Boria song Boria salming nice pole
- 1:07:30deaf Boria saling with 620 career assists Remember
- 1:07:35this is specifically franchises that have a defenseman
- 1:07:38as their all -time assist leader Minnesota doesn't
- 1:07:42have one Nashville doesn't well Matt Nashville
- 1:07:45Okay, that face said something. Roman Yossi.
- 1:07:48Roman Yossi. Number 6 for Nashville. 520. What
- 1:07:53numbers do we have left? 2, 7, and 8. I'm forgetting,
- 1:07:59Edmonton with Paul Coffee. Or Paul Coffee's on
- 1:08:01the list somewhere. Nope. Okay, well then Edmonton,
- 1:08:05Pittsburgh, and Boston. Well, you already did
- 1:08:09Boston at the beginning for me, Bork. Well, I'm
- 1:08:11just saying, because overall, that eliminates
- 1:08:14three teams. Shut up! We're trying to record
- 1:08:22in here! Islanders wouldn't have anybody. Rangers
- 1:08:37wouldn't have anybody. Okay, they would have
- 1:08:41somebody. Rangers have somebody. The Rangers
- 1:08:43have somebody. Big Rangers defensemen. Fox hasn't
- 1:08:50been around. Obviously, True was a fucking bum,
- 1:08:53so he wouldn't do shit. Get him out of the metro.
- 1:08:56Other than hitting, you know, hurt people. This
- 1:09:06might get away. He was I believe he was the con
- 1:09:08Smythe winner the last time the Rangers won the
- 1:09:10Stanley Cup so That doesn't fucking help me I
- 1:09:18but you're wrong, but I believe he was gonna
- 1:09:20come to my player Obviously, defensemen. The
- 1:09:28player he's thinking of, he's trying to remember
- 1:09:30what position it is. Well, who's the player?
- 1:09:32I was thinking Brian Leach. Brian Leach. Oh,
- 1:09:34here we go. Brian Leach at 741. I can't remember
- 1:09:36if he was a forward or a defenseman. If we spit
- 1:09:39it out, then hopefully we can help him here.
- 1:09:41We just need seven and eight. I'm assuming somebody
- 1:09:45from Montreal. Believe it or not, no. Really?
- 1:09:49Philadelphia. Nope. Pittsburgh is Noah. Ottawa.
- 1:09:56Nope. The last two are actually the two newest
- 1:10:03franchises in the league. Oh, I'm not counting
- 1:10:05Utah. So Vegas and Seattle. Seattle, but who
- 1:10:08are the two players? So Seattle's gonna be easier,
- 1:10:12so I feel like if we tackle them first. Yeah,
- 1:10:15because I know one of their top good defensemen
- 1:10:18is Vince Dunn. Vince Dunn. Alright. 115. And
- 1:10:22then Vegas. Who were their big defensemen? McNab.
- 1:10:27Pachangelo. McNab, Pachangelo. Oh, fuck. There's
- 1:10:32a Peter Drell? There's not Peter Drell. He wasn't
- 1:10:36around during that time. Shea Theodore. Oh, wait
- 1:10:39a minute, pull it out of your butt. Well, I was
- 1:10:41trying to figure out all the other guys, and
- 1:10:42then I remembered Shea Theodore. And I did also
- 1:10:47have a little list of just a couple things to
- 1:10:49discuss. before moving on to Colin's other bind
- 1:10:52ranking. Do you guys see Charlie Lindgren's own
- 1:10:55goal? It's rough to watch, man. It is not funny
- 1:11:02to watch, but it's rough, but it's funny at the
- 1:11:05same time. You feel bad for the kid, because
- 1:11:07I'm pretty sure he's still pretty young. But
- 1:11:11it was rough. Another thing, obviously, talk
- 1:11:16about the heartwarming moment in Calgary. Columbus
- 1:11:20and Calgary playing each other both teams all
- 1:11:23during warm -ups every single player on the ice
- 1:11:25from both teams wearing the Joe's Jersey Had
- 1:11:29their family do like the puff opening puck drop
- 1:11:31and then the number one star for that night was
- 1:11:34the brothers Father you got the game puck at
- 1:11:36the end of the game. Yeah be the father good
- 1:11:39draw. I've got his first name Papa hockey or
- 1:11:42daddy hockey or something? I'd say just like
- 1:11:45when he did in Columbus, so he was Like skating
- 1:11:49out with all the guys I think that's one of the
- 1:11:54most in Columbus and that's right One of the
- 1:11:58most heartwarming things I've ever seen with
- 1:12:00both teams I mean, I'll say that's two teams
- 1:12:02He played for every single player on that ice
- 1:12:05and warm -ups was wearing that one that I kind
- 1:12:07of liked I thought was really cool was on there
- 1:12:09was a a hot cow somebody Calgary, but took all
- 1:12:15the sticks that were at the memorials at in Calgary
- 1:12:21took all the sticks and he made up turn them
- 1:12:25all hockey sticks into a bench in them yeah I
- 1:12:27think I saw his total but I think it was what
- 1:12:29219 sticks or something like that and then obviously
- 1:12:32on the plaque it said obviously in memory of
- 1:12:34Johnny and Matthew which I thought that was kind
- 1:12:38of cool yeah that's just something something
- 1:12:40I wanted to bring up to the the attention because
- 1:12:42that it needs attention because that was one
- 1:12:45of the most heartwarming moments I've seen at
- 1:12:47least in my lifetime watching hockey and stuff
- 1:12:49or honestly any sport you know it's it's been
- 1:12:52incredible to see the amount of people coming
- 1:12:55together for that it's like again it doesn't
- 1:12:57matter what team or what side you're on you know
- 1:12:59we're all human we're all pushing towards one
- 1:13:02goal and that's you know just just fucking survive
- 1:13:05yeah kind of thing so and then the last thing
- 1:13:09um just a couple of big random trades that have
- 1:13:12happened last week obviously just the other night
- 1:13:14the other day jacob truba being traded over to
- 1:13:17anaheim in exchange for your hoe vacanin in a
- 1:13:23fourth round pick in 2025 which i know there
- 1:13:27was rumors that turbo is going to be moved in
- 1:13:28the off season like before the season started
- 1:13:30you know either they were you know buy had his
- 1:13:32contract and then he would be traded or even
- 1:13:35you know um just being traded all together and
- 1:13:38then you know he'd buy this contract and then
- 1:13:40sign with somebody or trade him and then I said
- 1:13:42he almost went to Detroit and I know there's
- 1:13:45rumors that he was gonna go to Detroit in the
- 1:13:46offseason did you did you did you hear like how
- 1:13:49they got him to like drop or go from a no movement
- 1:13:54class to your minimal no movement class no so
- 1:13:57the story was was that uh the rangers management
- 1:14:01was like hey like go to minimal new no treatment
- 1:14:05class like no movement clause or We're gonna
- 1:14:10put you on waivers and these teams gonna Are
- 1:14:12gonna pay you so either you you pick which seems
- 1:14:15you're able to go to or we're gonna pick for
- 1:14:18you Wow kind of thing so So he chose Anaheim
- 1:14:23is one of them Yeah, Anaheim was one of them.
- 1:14:25I haven't seen the best of them. I think they're
- 1:14:28on a decent streak right now. I know they've
- 1:14:30won a bunch of games here recently. Yeah, I just
- 1:14:32don't know what the other teams are that were
- 1:14:35willing to give up or what they were willing
- 1:14:37to give up. But Anaheim, I guess, is the team
- 1:14:39that they chose. That was one that I was not
- 1:14:42expecting. I'm just glad he's out of the Metro.
- 1:14:45That's all I care about. There's two that happened
- 1:14:47on November 30th that I wasn't even aware of.
- 1:14:51Colorado traded their young goaltender Eustace
- 1:14:53Anunen to the Nashville Predators in exchange
- 1:14:57for a goaltender Scott Wedgwood Me neither I
- 1:15:03won't surprise the hell out of me And then the
- 1:15:06wild acquired defenseman David Juricic and a
- 1:15:09fifth round pick From the Blue Jackets in exchange
- 1:15:12for Damian Hunt a first round pick third and
- 1:15:15fourth round in 2026 and a second in 2027 so
- 1:15:18apparently the wild have a lot of hope for David
- 1:15:21Jurisic as much as they gave up and obviously
- 1:15:24the one that has been working out really really
- 1:15:27well for the Penguins so far acquiring Philip
- 1:15:29Tomasino from the Nashville Predators in exchange
- 1:15:31for a fourth rounder which in the short amount
- 1:15:34of time he's gotten I believe like three goals
- 1:15:36and an assist in five games he's so he's looking
- 1:15:39really good he looks good so I'm very I was pretty
- 1:15:42happy about it when I heard about I was like
- 1:15:44oh he's young you know you know Blanking on his
- 1:15:48name Kaldux is actually going out and getting
- 1:15:50us some some young talent, which I very much
- 1:15:52enjoy I'm very much all for Yeah, I was exactly
- 1:15:55right and five games He has three goals in an
- 1:15:57assist four points in five games for us so far
- 1:15:59when he when he had played 11 for Nashville and
- 1:16:01had one assist So I'm very happy with how he's
- 1:16:07been turning out he's looked very very good so
- 1:16:09far We should need to get younger more deaf and
- 1:16:16deaf and get a little bit younger on defense
- 1:16:18And I think we're set which we have gone a little
- 1:16:20bit younger obviously with I know they just recently
- 1:16:22sent St. Ivany back down, but they brought up
- 1:16:26Oh and Pickering's got a full -time position
- 1:16:28in the lineup Ryan Shea has been in and out.
- 1:16:30He's been he's been decently solid Carlson's
- 1:16:33been playing a lot better at least defensively
- 1:16:35might not be getting on the board, but he's doing
- 1:16:36better defensively I know Grizzly finally got
- 1:16:39his first as the penguin, and I think it was
- 1:16:40just yesterday Yeah, we're starting to come together
- 1:16:44as a team for the Penguins. We're on what's one
- 1:16:47four of our last five games, so Hoping that this
- 1:16:50is the start of a wake -up call and turn this
- 1:16:53team around a little bit You know, we've dug
- 1:16:56ourselves a pretty deep hole to climb out of
- 1:16:58to have a shot at the playoffs But as long as
- 1:17:01we don't finish as long as we don't finish at
- 1:17:04the bottom of the division I'll be happy I mean,
- 1:17:06I just don't want it to be one of those things
- 1:17:07where we find on the last day of the season and
- 1:17:09then lose and find out we're not going again
- 1:17:15I'd like to see Malcolm Spence in a Penguin's
- 1:17:35jersey, I'll tell you that much. We all know
- 1:17:37Matt Schaeffer is on as he's climbing his way
- 1:17:39up. So he's top three There's people debating
- 1:17:42that he might go first. Like there's a lot of
- 1:17:44people well with the way We saw a couple weeks
- 1:17:46ago. There were a bunch of not just Kyle Dubas
- 1:17:50and some penguin scouts, but there were a bunch
- 1:17:52of Scouts just a couple weeks ago Dubas gonna
- 1:17:56trade Malkin for To like fucking Buffalo for
- 1:18:00the third wrap their third overall pick Imagine
- 1:18:04we get fucking Matt Schaeffer Oh my god. I'd
- 1:18:07be so happy. But uh, hey Colin, I think we're
- 1:18:10ready for your second button ranking. Alright,
- 1:18:13best goalies. Don't hit my car. To never win
- 1:18:16a cup. Best goalies. To never win a cup. Okay.
- 1:18:20First up, Curtis Joseph. Cujo. He never won?
- 1:18:24He never won a cup. He's with Toronto forever
- 1:18:28and then he was with Detroit for a short amount
- 1:18:30of time, wasn't he? No. I had the best stopover
- 1:18:33ever, didn't I? All right, my mom. Kudu never
- 1:18:36won a cup. That surprises me. I would start him
- 1:18:38with at least number two, because I'm sure there
- 1:18:40might be a better one. Put him right in the middle
- 1:18:42of three. Oh. I was honestly going to be with
- 1:18:45Bubba. I'd put him at two, because he was good.
- 1:18:48I mean, he's one of the better. He's good. I
- 1:18:49guess for a safe. He's easily top 10 all the
- 1:18:54time. But to not win, he's definitely up there.
- 1:18:58All right, next up, Carey Price. I can already
- 1:19:08tell you right now. I know he's gonna put long
- 1:19:09quiz on here somewhere I know there's one other
- 1:19:12one. I know he's gonna put two Price no, sir.
- 1:19:19I'd say three. He's not four. He could be three
- 1:19:22He could be he could be one day. We should have
- 1:19:25put kuju at three That's why We put him at three
- 1:19:29do we want to put Carrie at one? I want to see
- 1:19:32Price at three. Three? Okay. Fuck, this is gonna
- 1:19:37be a tough one. Next up, Boa's right, Henrik
- 1:19:40Lundqvist, the king himself. Well, I had said
- 1:19:43that, yeah. Did Boa too? I said it too, yeah.
- 1:19:48One. I'd put him at one. Or maybe five. No way.
- 1:19:54I don't know. Was he better than Price? I mean,
- 1:19:59in their prime? Fuck. Oh god. It's one or four,
- 1:20:07that's all we have. One, one, one, one. Okay,
- 1:20:13this starts. Oh no, he's gonna have, the last
- 1:20:18two are gonna, we're gonna be punching ourselves,
- 1:20:20aren't we? I guarantee I know how to tell one
- 1:20:23of the two he's gonna say. Craig Anderson. Do
- 1:20:45we just put him at 5? This honestly really hurt
- 1:20:58just tight just type it. I want you to type it
- 1:21:01out. He's gonna be Well, I already know he's
- 1:21:04gonna play some audio. Oh not copywritten by
- 1:21:07the way I know all right. Yeah, this hurts This
- 1:21:18one hurts I hate you guys so fucking much guys
- 1:21:27we should have known what he put on you guys
- 1:21:32are banned from my house I would have been better
- 1:21:49at least in that at least two okay I am serious
- 1:21:52like you guys gotta get up I'll finish that first
- 1:21:54this fucking episode by myself that works i gotta
- 1:21:57be up at 6am fuck you sit down you guys suck
- 1:22:03god this one hurts the most i don't care about
- 1:22:07the other four i really don't he deserves to
- 1:22:11be number one call me biased he deserves to be
- 1:22:14number one i would agree god i need to take a
- 1:22:19walk fuck you god Lundquist, Price, and Miller.
- 1:22:34I mean, any of those three can be debatably number
- 1:22:37one. I would have been okay with Miller and Joseph
- 1:22:41being swapped. Miller being at two. I'd have
- 1:22:44been okay with that. And then you could even
- 1:22:47say Price and Lundquist swap. Lundquist, Price,
- 1:22:50and Miller can all be interchangeable for number
- 1:22:53one. you can have different arguments for all
- 1:22:55of them uh i'm so i'm so i'm pissed i'm i mean
- 1:23:01it's it's a blind raking for a reason i know
- 1:23:04we didn't know he was coming up but well i mean
- 1:23:08it should have been a dead giveaway to call him
- 1:23:09put on his fucking buffalo jersey but uh yeah
- 1:23:14that one hurts especially because of how much
- 1:23:16i just like we were at his jersey retirement
- 1:23:19game for christ's sake i know that's why i said
- 1:23:22We watched them do a final farewell to him retiring
- 1:23:26his jersey number. And put him into the Buffalo
- 1:23:29Sabres Hall of Fame. That one hurts because he's
- 1:23:36my favorite. Right behind Mark Andre Fleury.
- 1:23:40Non -Ping was definitely my favorite goalie of
- 1:23:43all time. The most respected goaltender of all
- 1:23:48time. That one probably won't bother me the most.
- 1:23:56I shouldn't be that pissed off that, you know,
- 1:23:59obviously it's a blind rank and you guys didn't
- 1:24:01know, but I tried to give you guys hints. With
- 1:24:04the jersey, facial reactions, trying to look
- 1:24:07down on my jersey real quick. I was hoping out
- 1:24:09of everybody that Bo was usually pretty damn
- 1:24:12good at picking up context foods like this. Like
- 1:24:14I gotta get credit where credit's due, but he's
- 1:24:18probably one of the best aside from Ethan. But,
- 1:24:22like... Yeah, that one... That one's gonna go
- 1:24:25down in the record books for us, so... My heart
- 1:24:28is in my gut. So, Colin's gonna change all of
- 1:24:30our nicknames to Ryan Miller haters. And I would
- 1:24:35deserve it. I'm sure Colin's gonna change all
- 1:24:37of our nicknames. Well, he's going to now that
- 1:24:40you said it three times. Do me a favor, label
- 1:24:42us one, two, and three. Like, phone -hider pros
- 1:24:45one and two? Yeah, exactly. Oh, that was so good.
- 1:24:52Yeah, that one hurts. That one really hurts.
- 1:24:57Alright, before we wrap things up, the official
- 1:25:00Lions rosters were, or like the whole lineup
- 1:25:04pretty much, was officially released for the
- 1:25:07Four Nations face -offs teams. We're each just
- 1:25:10gonna choose one and go over them. I chose Canada.
- 1:25:13We're gonna go over the whole lineup and stuff.
- 1:25:16First line, they got Sam Bennett, Seth Jarvis,
- 1:25:19and Connor McDavid. Second, they got Anthony
- 1:25:22Cirelli, Travis Konekne, and Brayden Point. Third
- 1:25:26line, they got Crosby on the wing with Nathan
- 1:25:28McKinnon and Sam Reinhardt. And then Brandon
- 1:25:32Hagel, Brad Marchand, and Mark Stone. And then
- 1:25:35Mitch Marner is like a 13th fill -in for probably
- 1:25:37anywhere he could fit in. Defenseman, we got
- 1:25:40Kale McCarr, Colton Pareco, Shay Theodore. Josh
- 1:25:45Morrissey, Alex Petrangelo, Devon Taze, and then
- 1:25:49Travis Sandheim as well. Probably like the seventh
- 1:25:52defenseman. And goaltenders, we got Jordan Bennington,
- 1:25:56Aidan Hill, and Sam Montembeau. Alright Bobo,
- 1:26:01who you got for... FINLAND! FINLAND! Um, so,
- 1:26:08the, uh, Jeff is making me laugh. Fuckin... For
- 1:26:13my forwards, my first line is Sebastian Aho,
- 1:26:17Eric Hula, and Anton Lundell. Second line, Joel
- 1:26:22Armia, Rupe Hintz, Itu Lusterainen. Third line,
- 1:26:29Alexander Barkov, Kapo Kako, and Mika Rantinen.
- 1:26:33Fourth line, Michael Gremlin, Patrick Lainé,
- 1:26:37Tuvu Terevinen, and then the alternate is Atari...
- 1:26:42Wakanen? Bukenen. Bukenen. Defenseman, Yanni,
- 1:26:48holy bus you, haka haka, haka haka, haka haka,
- 1:27:03holy bus you. His eyes whining looking at that
- 1:27:10me wasn't looking at my can feel his eyes go
- 1:27:37Miro Heisken, Ali Mada, UC Valamaki, another
- 1:27:43holy bless you, and Niko... Pull it together
- 1:27:49guys, come on, we gotta finish this episode.
- 1:27:51Niko Mikola as the alternate, and the goalies,
- 1:27:56Kevin Aiken, Ukepeke Ukenen, and UC Saros. They
- 1:28:02have three holy bless yous, each one of the lines.
- 1:28:08I feel his eyes wide and I wasn't even looking
- 1:28:11at him. I could feel the fear. There's a bird
- 1:28:14box in the TV right now because of it. Well,
- 1:28:19call it a new nickname again before we totally
- 1:28:21bust you. How's that one? Already did. All right,
- 1:28:27moving on to Sweden. We have for the fours, you
- 1:28:31have Viktor Arvidsson. Felt Forsberg and the
- 1:28:35gust of none gust of nine quiz Just a brat William
- 1:28:40Carlson and Elias Pettersson Leo Carlson Adrian
- 1:28:46campaign and Lucas Raymond He's Swedish. I know
- 1:28:51I didn't think he was Swedish either what Lucas,
- 1:28:54right? Joel arkison ec Elias Lindholm and Mika
- 1:29:03Sabanajad and then the alternate William Nylander.
- 1:29:08And on defense is Ramza Anderson, Ramza Stalin,
- 1:29:12Victor Hedman, Jonas Brodin, Matthias Eklum,
- 1:29:19Eric Carlson, and Gustav Forslund. And then your
- 1:29:23goaltenders are Philip Gustafson, Diego Markström,
- 1:29:27and Linus Almark. Alright, Team USAV. The force
- 1:29:42decently find you Alright, for my fours, I got
- 1:30:02Matt Goldie, Jack Hughes, Brock Nelson, Kyle
- 1:30:05Connor, Chris Crider, Brady Kachuck, Jack Eichel,
- 1:30:10Bill Morgan, Matthew Kachuck, then we got Jake
- 1:30:13Edsel, Austin Matthews, Vinny Trocheck, with
- 1:30:17JTB the 13th ford. Then you got the Defensive
- 1:30:20Parents right now, and Brock Faber, Adam Fox,
- 1:30:24Noah Hanifin, Quinn Hughes, Jakub Saban and Zach
- 1:30:28Lewinsky with Charlie McAvoy being that seventh
- 1:30:31defenseman. And your goaltending trio is Connor
- 1:30:35Halbuck, Jake Ottinger, and Jeremy Swain. And
- 1:30:41then real quickly, I saw somebody on TikTok do
- 1:30:43this. I think if they were just going around,
- 1:30:45I think it was some studio. I wish I could remember
- 1:30:48who it was. They just asked. I don't know if
- 1:30:50it's been released or not, but if you could choose
- 1:30:52the captain for each roster, who are you choosing?
- 1:30:54Sidney Crosby of Canada. That's what pretty much
- 1:30:55everybody said. Even asked McDavid, he goes,
- 1:30:59that's Sidney Crosby. There's no question. McDavid
- 1:31:02himself said that shouldn't be a question. It's
- 1:31:04Sid. I don't give a fuck who else is on the roster.
- 1:31:08Sidney Crosby is coming with me to happen for
- 1:31:09Team Canada. Finland, who do we think it should
- 1:31:12be? Probably either Patrick Lade or Kapil Kakko.
- 1:31:16I was honestly going to say Barkov. I'd say Barkov.
- 1:31:19Yeah, Barkov feels like a good fit. I mean...
- 1:31:22Barkov is, I think, one of the only two, or the
- 1:31:25only one on, actually, yeah, the only one on
- 1:31:26that list. I think that actually is... A captain.
- 1:31:29A captain. Other players that deserve a letter
- 1:31:31like an A is Ajo, Laine, and Hyskonen. Hyskonen,
- 1:31:35I think, yeah, Laine, I think, could give it
- 1:31:37to you. Rantino could potentially move with an
- 1:31:38A too. Yeah, Rantino. Yeah, as a fourth option,
- 1:31:41but either way, I don't think... I think it goes
- 1:31:42to Barkov. Barkov or A, I wouldn't be mad if
- 1:31:45they get to Ajo either, so... And then for Sweden,
- 1:31:48I'd probably say... Elias Pedersen or Lucas Raymond.
- 1:31:53I would say Philip Forsberg or Victor Hedman.
- 1:31:59Oh, I totally forgot about Hedman. I was going
- 1:32:02to say either Hedman or Zabana Jed. I think Zabana
- 1:32:04Jed can do it too. He'd very easily be it. I
- 1:32:09think Gustav Forslund should be in, Captain.
- 1:32:11I think Yanni Bless you should be in. And then
- 1:32:16Team USA. There's a lot of choices for Team USA.
- 1:32:20Brady can chuck Dylan Mark and obviously current
- 1:32:22captains. Austin Matthews also a current captain.
- 1:32:25Quinn Hughes. It could be Quinn Hughes. It could
- 1:32:26be Jack. It could be Matthew Kachuk. There's
- 1:32:30easily eight different choices you can choose
- 1:32:32from this. I'll also say you got former captain
- 1:32:34Jack Ico on there. Who's the captain? You got
- 1:32:38Jack Ico on there. It could be it. Adam Fox could
- 1:32:40potentially be it. If I had to choose a final
- 1:32:43vote, I'd be a toss -up between Matthews and
- 1:32:46Matthew Kachuk. For me. See, I agree with Matthews,
- 1:32:51but I think Dylan Larkin could be the other one.
- 1:32:53Captain America. Pretty much. Yeah, Captain America.
- 1:32:58Seriously, you're in the Motor City, and you're
- 1:33:01captain of one of the shittiest teams in... Well,
- 1:33:04not one of the shittiest teams, a shitty team.
- 1:33:07I was thinking one of the Kachuk brothers. That's
- 1:33:09what I said. I said either Austin Matthews or
- 1:33:11Matthew Kachas. I said my two would be Matthews
- 1:33:14and then Matthew Kachas. I was going to say Brady
- 1:33:19obviously wears that C up in Ottawa and Matthew
- 1:33:21is only wears that. The best he's ever gotten
- 1:33:23is an A and that's mostly in Florida. Otis wants
- 1:33:28to close out the show with us. Jeff, you got
- 1:33:30anything else? Nope. I don't think so. Kyle?
