Speaker 1: can sometimes feel a little heavy, like you can feel

Speaker 1: the heaviness of people like watching you and things like that.

Speaker 1: But the only thing I can do, I can be

Speaker 1: the best meal that I can be. I can just

Speaker 1: share the knowledge that I have. And when it comes

Speaker 1: to health and wellness, you know, to me, it's been

Speaker 1: a struggle with that part and I just let people

Speaker 1: in that you know, I'm working on it, working with it,

Speaker 1: and I'm just whatever somebody can give me encourage me,

Speaker 1: Like I'm trying to encourage you with your your gear,

Speaker 1: which I call it a gear instead of shape or

Speaker 1: people say dirtles. But I just think it's important that

Speaker 1: we look nice just because we think, don't mean that

Speaker 1: we have to just look any kind of way and

Speaker 1: just have to just all thrown out there where we

Speaker 1: cannot be neatly, you know, neatly dressed. And that's what

Speaker 1: shape where it does for you. And I just like

Speaker 1: to be able to share, especially with my thick ladies,

Speaker 1: that we have stuff that can look nice on us.

Speaker 1: That's what I really you know, grabbed into Gravitated that

Speaker 1: because sometimes you know, you get fabrics and you hold

Speaker 1: through it, right, And I was like, I don't want

Speaker 1: people to be able to see through my things. It's

Speaker 1: like or see your body before they get to you,

Speaker 1: I mean, and they see you your skin coming to

Speaker 1: your clothes. So things like that. It's very important to me.

Speaker 1: And that way it's heavy on me that I still

Speaker 1: have to find things that's compatible for as pricing because

Speaker 1: the more you you wanted, the better quality. Of course,

Speaker 1: you know, it costs more money bottom line. And I'm

Speaker 1: just trying, you know, I'm learning this thing like you

Speaker 1: were saying earlier, and to just be honest with people.

Speaker 1: And you know, you know we do it for other

Speaker 1: genres or other people that are not from our community.

Speaker 1: I just want us to learn to support one another

Speaker 1: and we all can grow and we all can be

Speaker 1: Mel's or whatever we wanna be if we support our

Speaker 1: own as black people. Guys, we don't really need nobody

Speaker 1: that we could do it all ourselves, you know, just

Speaker 1: supporting me that I'm talking to Tamela Man, she's appreciating

Speaker 1: the economics. So the Black community, we support each other.

Speaker 1: We don't need nobody to support us. And that's really true.

Speaker 1: And that's why I created a platform Money Making Conversation

Speaker 1: You just happen to be an incredibly gifted singer, incredibly

Speaker 1: be recognized that in female entrepreneurs are the fastest growing

Speaker 1: segment of small businesses and so and we need to

Speaker 1: we need to realize that because that's a that's a

Speaker 1: big thing to undertain, understand. And like, I grew up

Speaker 1: with six sisters, and so when you start talking about shape,

Speaker 1: where we start talking about, you know, sizes that aren't petigue,

Speaker 1: you start getting above twelve, you know, you know the

Speaker 1: part of the last five ten years women have been

Speaker 1: able to who felt that were full figure can actually

Speaker 1: be comfortable being full figured. And I think, you know,

Speaker 1: I think that because you know, you used to go

Speaker 1: our shop. All you have with a big old T shirt,

Speaker 1: big old T shirts they had that they had the

Speaker 1: big T shirts for the for those ladies, but they

Speaker 1: didn't have the gear or the the the apparel that

Speaker 1: allowed them to the proud of what they're doing. Talk

Speaker 1: about that transition, because that looked nice and didn't look

Speaker 1: like a table club, right, and then that and let's

Speaker 1: say I could say that because I have six sisters,

Speaker 1: so I've dealt with their emotions, I've dealt with them,

Speaker 1: you know how they had to deal with that, how

Speaker 1: they had to and then they look so I have

Speaker 1: to deal with their friends. And now you, like I said,

Speaker 1: you've been part of that revolution or evolution. What that

Speaker 1: has been the the tremendous change is it? Is it

Speaker 1: the fact that you know, we had the Lizzos out there,

Speaker 1: we have that and that they had that commotional I

Speaker 1: think that Dove commercial we had all the four figured

Speaker 1: ladies posing in their underwear looking comfortable. One has been

Speaker 1: the significant change to make this a comfortable a comfortable conversation.

Speaker 1: You know what. I think what being honest, since you're

Speaker 1: talking about the money of the economics of it, is

Speaker 1: they see that they can make money, thank you, and

Speaker 1: by them showing us and people that look like us.

Speaker 1: You know, I don't need to see you know, nothing

Speaker 1: against anybody that's small, but if you're trying to sell

Speaker 1: me something, I need to see somebody this think like me.

Speaker 1: I don't need to see a small person, a critique

Speaker 1: person that doesn't look like me, because that doesn't make

Speaker 1: me feel like whatever it is, it's gonna look right

Speaker 1: and fit my shape, you know, or you know the

Speaker 1: way that I'm built. So I think that's the importance

Speaker 1: of it. And they see now we're getting more eyes

Speaker 1: and more commercials because they see that they can make

Speaker 1: money from us. Absolutely. Well, the way you've always made

Speaker 1: money is that you've been spirited by the law, by

Speaker 1: the world. What do I mean to as they can

Speaker 1: make money for us for plus plus size people or no, No,

Speaker 1: I was just making a positive transition. I'm about to

Speaker 1: that was again it was personal You're doing a lot

Speaker 1: of personal endeavors as a as an entrepreneur. Now how

Speaker 1: does it How does that impact you and impact your family?

Speaker 1: Do you sit down with your family when you make

Speaker 1: these decisions when you were discussing the way the loss.

Speaker 1: I know it's tied or your needs and all that stuff,

Speaker 1: but talk about that well, it is kind of uh

Speaker 1: something that I especially say on the top of David

Speaker 1: about and then I just kind of just let my

Speaker 1: kids know kind of like what I'm doing. So if

Speaker 1: someone asked them, you know, they can kind of answer

Speaker 1: that into yes or no factor. But it's important because

Speaker 1: of my family. You know, obesity runs in my family,

Speaker 1: and we're easy. You know, It's like we have some

Speaker 1: small ones, but we have a way where we can

Speaker 1: be some thick ones if if we don't watch it.

Speaker 1: So I'm just really trying to learn to do better,

Speaker 1: you know in my situation because my mother was a

Speaker 1: full figure woman and she dealt with hot blood pressure

Speaker 1: and she didn't have our bee. This ran on my

Speaker 1: father's side, So I'm really trying to be careful and

Speaker 1: like I say, it's a up real journey. Like some

Speaker 1: people may have problems with drinking or drugs. Mind happened

Speaker 1: to be not even eating enough, eating wrong, and it's

Speaker 1: like learning to do different things. So it's important that

Speaker 1: we if we share and talk about it. You know,

Speaker 1: group therapy really is it really can help a lot

Speaker 1: of us because you feel like, first of all, that

Speaker 1: you're not alone. Somebody else is dealing with the same

Speaker 1: issues that I'm dealing with. I'm not just the only

Speaker 1: one making a bad choice. And and it and it

Speaker 1: kind of takes a little pressure off the mind where

Speaker 1: it don't just go heavily for its on the mental

Speaker 1: side where it can put you into the and when
11:44
Speaker 1: you can talk about it to me, when you learn
11:46
Speaker 1: to talk about issues and we face the facts about

Speaker 1: ourselves that Okay, you got an issue here. You know,

Speaker 1: you're picking wrong, you're choosing wrong. You know, you just

Speaker 1: keep going back the same way. And it's like I'm

Speaker 1: believing and asking God. But it's also things that I

Speaker 1: have to grab home to and acknowledge that Okay, Lord,

Speaker 1: I'm like like this morning, I was like, damn there.

Speaker 1: You know, it's like talking to myself like you gotta

Speaker 1: get this, you gotta do this. That's why that's how

Speaker 1: the overcomer album came about is working to overcome things

Speaker 1: and challenges that I'm facing. It's a day to day fight.

Speaker 1: It's like I feel like, for instance, that's somebody, you know.

Speaker 1: It's not the right thing. It's like the devil to me.

Speaker 1: learning not to point the finger at other people with

Speaker 1: the point to finger yourself that you need to address again,

Speaker 1: my I was talking to my daughter Tilla and the

Speaker 1: producer field, I was like, I just started crying because

Speaker 1: I was like, why would somebody say something like that,

Speaker 1: because I'm trying so hard to just be out here

Speaker 1: just working and just trying to be alike bottom line.

Speaker 1: And I just started expressing and just talking. And the

Speaker 1: he had one verse and then I went back and

Speaker 1: I wrote the second verse. He was like Mama. I

Speaker 1: this is perfect. But he took all my words and

Speaker 1: what we are with. He did it for me, man,
