Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / ABC News & Kamala Debate Trump
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is a special post debate Verdict with Ted Cruz
- 0:06Speaker 2: and Ben ferguson podcast. We get to do these on
- 0:09Speaker 2: big nights jointly like this. Depending on where you're listening
- 0:12Speaker 2: to us right now, you get us both. Senator your
- 0:15Speaker 2: initial reaction, we're doing this right now midnight Eastern. You
- 0:20Speaker 2: watch the debate. I watched the debate. What were your
- 0:23Speaker 2: big takeaways? Well, tonight was a big and consequential debate.
- 0:27Speaker 2: But I have to say it before we get into it.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Then this entire podcast we're going to analyze the debate
- 0:33Speaker 2: in depth and say what it showed about about where
- 0:37Speaker 2: the race is, where President Trump is, where Kamala Harris is.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But I do want to point out it is exactly
- 0:43Speaker 2: midnight as you and I are recording, which means that
- 0:46Speaker 2: it has just become September eleventh, and for our listeners
- 0:50Speaker 2: who are downloading this, you'll be downloading this today during
- 0:54Speaker 2: September eleventh. And so I just want to start by
- 0:57Speaker 2: acknowledging that twenty three years ago, the worst terrorist attack
- 1:01Speaker 2: in our nation's history happened, and you and I both
- 1:07Speaker 2: lived through nine to eleven. We had friends who lost
- 1:10Speaker 2: their lives in nine to eleven. We saw the agony,
- 1:14Speaker 2: and we have talked on this podcast many times about
- 1:18Speaker 2: my view that today we have a greater risk of
- 1:21Speaker 2: a major terrorist attack than we have had any time
- 1:24Speaker 2: since September eleventh, two thousand and one, because of the disastrous.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Policies of the last four years.
- 1:31Speaker 4: And so I want to acknowledge that at the front end,
- 1:34Speaker 4: and then we're going to walk through right now what
- 1:38Speaker 4: the biggest takeaways are from the debate tonight.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Let me take a quick moment to tell you about
- 1:44Speaker 2: an incredible company that stands up and fights for our
- 1:47Speaker 2: First and our Second Amendment rights. They fight for the
- 1:51Speaker 2: rights of unborn children, and they fight every time you
- 1:55Speaker 2: pay your bill to them, for our veterans, our first responders,
- 1:59Speaker 2: and our wounded warriors. I'm talking about Patriot Mobile. They
- 2:04Speaker 2: are the only conservative Christian wireless provider in the country,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and when you pay your bill to them every month,
- 2:12Speaker 2: they actually take about five percent of your bill and
- 2:15Speaker 2: give it back to the causes that I just mentioned
- 2:17Speaker 2: at no extra.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Cost to you.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Now, the reason why that's incredible is because if you're
- 2:23Speaker 2: with Big Mobile, you're actually supporting and funding the Left
- 2:27Speaker 2: in a very big way. Big Mobile gives big donations
- 2:31Speaker 2: to organizations that pay and advocate for abortion on demand.
- 2:37Speaker 2: They give big donations to Democratic candidates and causes at
- 2:40Speaker 2: the local, state, and national level. Another reason why you
- 2:47Speaker 2: should make the switch to a company that stands with
- 2:49Speaker 2: your values. Now, making the switch Patriot Mobile is easy.
- 2:53Speaker 2: You can keep your same cell phone you have right now,
- 2:56Speaker 2: keep your same cell phone number, or you can upgrade
- 2:59Speaker 2: to a new phone. And you don't have to worry
- 3:01Speaker 2: about coverage because in twenty twenty four, it is actually
- 3:05Speaker 2: really easy to make the switch, and you're gonna have
- 3:07Speaker 2: the same exact coverage that you are used to because
- 3:11Speaker 2: they use the same exact towers that you're using right now.
- 3:15Speaker 2: So call right now nine seven to two Patriot. That's
- 3:20Speaker 2: nine seven to two Patriot or Patriotmobile dot com slash
- 3:26Speaker 2: ferguson now when you use the promo code ferguson, you're
- 3:29Speaker 2: gonna get a free month of service. So don't wait
- 3:33Speaker 2: any longer. Stop giving your money to comanes that literally
- 3:36Speaker 2: hate your family values and hate your Christian values. Make
- 3:40Speaker 2: the switch, get nationwide coverage, and make a difference with
- 3:44Speaker 2: every phone call you make. Nine seven to two Patriot,
- 3:48Speaker 2: that's nine seven to two Patriot or patriotmobile dot com
- 3:52Speaker 2: slash ferguson promo code ferguson You'll get one month of
- 3:55Speaker 2: service for free center. This was a obviously important debate
- 4:01Speaker 2: for Kamala Harris. It was really a rollout in a
- 4:06Speaker 2: sense where she could be challenged. What we quickly saw though,
- 4:10Speaker 2: was a three on one debate against Donald Trump and
- 4:14Speaker 2: ABC News. What an end kind donation they gave.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Yeah, the ABC moderators did not do a good job
- 4:21Speaker 4: that They clearly were biased towards Kamala Harris. We saw
- 4:25Speaker 4: that from their live quote fact checking, where repeatedly they'd
- 4:29Speaker 4: follow up what Trump said by contradicting him, by disputing him.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Many instances their fact checks were wrong and they never
- 4:36Speaker 4: never could be bothered a fact check a word that
- 4:38Speaker 4: came out of Kamala Harris's mouth. It was very one
- 4:41Speaker 4: sided on that front. But look, ABC News was the
- 4:45Speaker 4: least consequential part of tonight. What tonight illustrated is that
- 4:50Speaker 4: Kamala Harris is utterly incapable of defending her own record.
- 4:56Speaker 4: And what we saw tonight this was her stump speech,
- 5:02Speaker 4: and this was her DNC convention speech cut into sound
- 5:06Speaker 4: bites and repeated. She memorized a series of vignettes, a
- 5:10Speaker 4: series of little segments, and just repeated those talking points
- 5:15Speaker 4: at nauseum. And it really became clear with the very
- 5:19Speaker 4: first question of the night, and the first question of
- 5:22Speaker 4: the night that David Muir asked her, is the question
- 5:24Speaker 4: that you and I and Monday's podcast said is the
- 5:27Speaker 4: single most important question of the debate and really of
- 5:30Speaker 4: every election, which is are you better off than you
- 5:34Speaker 4: were four years ago? And to Mere's credit, he started
- 5:38Speaker 4: with that question, are people off today than they were
- 5:41Speaker 4: four years ago?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Under Trump? Now?
- 5:43Speaker 4: Interestingly enough, Kamala refused to answer it at all. She
- 5:46Speaker 4: didn't say yes, she didn't say people's lives are better,
- 5:49Speaker 4: she said nothing at all. Instead, she had a little
- 5:52Speaker 4: memorized set piece about how I was raised in a
- 5:55Speaker 4: middle class family. I was raised with a mom who
- 5:58Speaker 4: loved me and struggled, and we just talked about her
- 6:01Speaker 4: bio and gave just just empty platitudes that continued for
- 6:08Speaker 4: the entire night. And so look, we saw this evening
- 6:13Speaker 4: why it is that Kamala's campaign team keeps her hidden
- 6:19Speaker 4: in Joe Biden's basement, Why they just bring her out?
- 6:23Speaker 4: Have a read from a teleprompter, and then they tackle
- 6:25Speaker 4: her and throw back in the basement, because all right,
- 6:28Speaker 4: let's take the very simple question. She didn't say, yes,
- 6:30Speaker 4: you're better off than you were four years ago. Why, well,
- 6:32Speaker 4: you really can't, Like it's impossible to defend on every front. Inflation.
- 6:37Speaker 4: All let's just take inflation in the economy. Her policies
- 6:42Speaker 4: and Joe Biden's policies have been disastrous America. The working
- 6:47Speaker 4: people of America have seen the price of just about
- 6:50Speaker 4: everything go up, from food to electricity, to rent, to lumber,
- 6:54Speaker 4: to healthcare, to gasoline, to mortgages, everything go up. And critically,
- 7:01Speaker 4: this is where her record matters. Kamala Harris was the
- 7:05Speaker 4: tie breaking vote multiple times on the floor of the
- 7:08Speaker 4: Senate on trillions of dollars of the out of control
- 7:12Speaker 4: spending from this administration that has caused this inflation. She
- 7:18Speaker 4: was literally, without her vote, the trillions of dollars that
- 7:22Speaker 4: we borrowed in the trillions of dollars that Joe Biden
- 7:26Speaker 4: and Kamala Harris ran the printing presses on that drove
- 7:28Speaker 4: this inflation. That doesn't happen, And she can't defend that.
- 7:32Speaker 4: She doesn't have a good answer when it comes to
- 7:34Speaker 4: energy and gas prices, people are hurting because of gas
- 7:38Speaker 4: price as well. It is her policies, in Joe Biden's policies,
- 7:42Speaker 4: that has waged war systematically on oil and gas production
- 7:47Speaker 4: and American energy, and she can't defend that either, and
- 7:51Speaker 4: so instead she simply says, well, we're going to lower
- 7:55Speaker 4: energy prices, We're going to lower gas prices, and with
- 7:58Speaker 4: no acknowledgment that Wait a second, she is, in fact
- 8:02Speaker 4: the sitting vice president and who knows where the heck
- 8:04Speaker 4: the actual president is besides passed out asleep on a beach.
- 8:08Speaker 2: When you see, I think the strategy and now it
- 8:11Speaker 2: actually I think makes more sense, right, like just hide
- 8:14Speaker 2: her buy ads, get the media to cover for you
- 8:19Speaker 2: and protect you at all costs, and maybe that is
- 8:22Speaker 2: a winning strategy, which comes to the obviously the next
- 8:25Speaker 2: big question, should there be another debate?
- 8:28Speaker 1: Do you believe there will be?
- 8:29Speaker 2: In the other debate, they were obviously in the Harris
- 8:32Speaker 2: camp implying that there was a big victory tonight, saying
- 8:35Speaker 2: that was fun, let's do it again, and threw out
- 8:38Speaker 2: another date, signaling from her campaign they want to tee
- 8:43Speaker 2: it up again and go toe to toe with Donald
- 8:45Speaker 2: Trump again. Is that the right move for her?
- 8:48Speaker 4: Well, listen, I think Trump should absolutely accept that offer
- 8:51Speaker 4: for another debate. They should jump on it and say
- 8:54Speaker 4: let's go. I think the debate is a valuable opportunity
- 8:58Speaker 4: to calmly litigate her actual record. And let me say
- 9:04Speaker 4: this though, even if Trump does follow that advice and
- 9:09Speaker 4: does accept the debate, I think there's very little chance
- 9:12Speaker 4: it happens. I think Kamala's team will back out on it.
- 9:15Speaker 4: I think they're mostly just puffing out their chest and
- 9:18Speaker 4: boasting right now with the offer of another debate, I
- 9:21Speaker 4: think there is no world in which they let her
- 9:23Speaker 4: do a second debate.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I think it's back to the basement.
- 9:27Speaker 4: And if I were to predict, we're not going to
- 9:29Speaker 4: see Kamala emerge from the basement until election day. It's
- 9:33Speaker 4: like the groundhog until she sees her shadow on election day.
- 9:36Speaker 4: She doesn't get to come out of the basement other
- 9:39Speaker 4: than to show up at a rally here and there
- 9:41Speaker 4: and read from the teleprompter the same speech. But they
- 9:44Speaker 4: want to keep her absolutely controlled and repeating. And listen,
- 9:50Speaker 4: I will say the Democrat Party has very good message masters.
- 9:55Speaker 4: They have very good This is the party of Hollywood.
- 9:57Speaker 4: This is the party of storytellers. Her memory I set pieces.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Some of them are pretty effective. They're disconnected from reality.
- 10:04Speaker 4: They don't acknowledge any facts on earth. But if you
- 10:08Speaker 4: just listen to them, they are calmly reassuring.
- 10:13Speaker 3: They sound nice. And it's why.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Look, this is the same reaction I had with her
- 10:18Speaker 4: convention speech. It's dangerous as hell, because if you're not
- 10:21Speaker 4: paying close attention, what she says sounds nice unless she
- 10:26Speaker 4: is forced to confront her actual own record. And in
- 10:30Speaker 4: the entire debate, the ABC moderators never once pointed out
- 10:35Speaker 4: that her record is exactly the opposite of what she
- 10:38Speaker 4: said on the debate stage, over and over again.
- 10:40Speaker 2: So when I watched the debate, the question I always
- 10:43Speaker 2: ask myself is Okay, if I was going in a
- 10:45Speaker 2: night voting for Donald Trump, was I convinced by Kamala
- 10:48Speaker 2: Harris that I should switch my vote? The answer honestly
- 10:51Speaker 2: is no. And if I'm a Kamala Harris voter and
- 10:55Speaker 2: was going into the night watching Kamala Harris saying I'm
- 10:58Speaker 2: going to vote for her, going to switch my vote
- 11:00Speaker 2: to Donald Trump tonight, honestly, probably not. Does that mean
- 11:04Speaker 2: that this is a draw in essence, where hey, Donald
- 11:08Speaker 2: Trump's team they walk out of this going Okay, maybe
- 11:11Speaker 2: we could have done a little better on this that
- 11:13Speaker 2: or the other. Maybe we'll work on that for the
- 11:15Speaker 2: next subby, but we didn't do any harm and we
- 11:17Speaker 2: got out. Are some good points. Kamma's team probably says, hey,
- 11:21Speaker 2: we had it, we survived the night we had you
- 11:23Speaker 2: in hiding in the basement. Is this one of those
- 11:25Speaker 2: debates that we both said was one of the most
- 11:27Speaker 2: important ever?
- 11:28Speaker 1: But could in theory be a draw?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Because really, you're if the if the barometer is I'm
- 11:34Speaker 2: trying to change hearts and minds.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Did anyone's mind change tonight?
- 11:39Speaker 4: Well, Kamala's team and all of our cheerleaders in the
- 11:41Speaker 4: corporate media are going to relentlessly hype that she won,
- 11:44Speaker 4: that she won, that she won. And by the way,
- 11:46Speaker 4: they were going to say that whatever happened, she could
- 11:48Speaker 4: literally fall to the ground and start screaming and wailing
- 11:51Speaker 4: and kicking her feet in the air and they would
- 11:52Speaker 4: say she won, So that that was going to be
- 11:54Speaker 4: the narrative. Regardless, I will say, what we learned is
- 11:59Speaker 4: she doesn't have a good answer to her own record.
- 12:02Speaker 4: The Trump campaign needs to continue to prosecute the case.
- 12:05Speaker 4: So let's take, for example, there was a hole back
- 12:08Speaker 4: and forth on abortion, and Trump said accurately that she
- 12:13Speaker 4: supports late term abortions into the eighth and ninth months
- 12:17Speaker 4: of pregnancy, and she just said, over and over again, no,
- 12:20Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't that's false, that's false, and
- 12:23Speaker 4: the moderators sat there like potted plants. Well, it so
- 12:27Speaker 4: happens that Kamala actually has a record, and in particular,
- 12:31Speaker 4: she has voted for legislation on the floor of the
- 12:33Speaker 4: Senate to strike down every single restriction on abortion in
- 12:38Speaker 4: the country and to legalize abortion in the eighth and
- 12:42Speaker 4: ninth months up to the moment of birth. That is
- 12:46Speaker 4: her actual voting record, what she has voted for. There
- 12:49Speaker 4: was another exchange where Trump points out that the governor
- 12:52Speaker 4: of Virginia, the former governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, had
- 12:55Speaker 4: advocated for post birth abortion, and she out lied and said, no, no,
- 13:01Speaker 4: he didn't know.
- 13:01Speaker 2: He didn't play that because we have that clip. And
- 13:05Speaker 2: this is why I love doing the show, is we
- 13:07Speaker 2: get to play it. This is Northam on the radio
- 13:10Speaker 2: on WTP saying what she said and the media said
- 13:16Speaker 2: never happened.
- 13:18Speaker 5: If a mother is in labor, I can tell you
- 13:20Speaker 5: exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the
- 13:24Speaker 5: infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated
- 13:28Speaker 5: if that's what the mother and the family desired, and
- 13:32Speaker 5: then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mothers.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I mean, where's the fact check for ABC News on that? Senator?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Yeah, and understand Ralph Northam, he was a Democrat governor
- 13:44Speaker 4: of Virginia. He was also someone whose medical school yearbook
- 13:49Speaker 4: featured a picture of a klansman. That's another part of
- 13:53Speaker 4: Ralph Northm's background. But he was also an o BG
- 13:56Speaker 4: y N. So he was actually talking about as a
- 13:58Speaker 4: doctor who presumably has done that. He was describing the approach,
- 14:03Speaker 4: and that is delivering a baby. The baby is alive,
- 14:06Speaker 4: is breathing, is outside the mother's womb, and he's talking
- 14:08Speaker 4: about just letting the baby die. And again, this is
- 14:12Speaker 4: where records matter. Kamala has a record on this. So
- 14:15Speaker 4: when she says that's ridiculous, that's no, no, no, no, no,
- 14:18Speaker 4: that's not true. Well, Kamala Harris voted against the born
- 14:22Speaker 4: alive Infant Protection Act, and that was a bill that
- 14:26Speaker 4: we voted on the floor of the Senate that said
- 14:29Speaker 4: if during the course of an attempted abortion, the child
- 14:32Speaker 4: is delivered, the child is born, and this happens, and
- 14:36Speaker 4: the child is alive and breathing and outside the womb,
- 14:40Speaker 4: that the doctor cannot just let the baby die. And
- 14:44Speaker 4: she voted no. Now, as you noted, ABC did in
- 14:48Speaker 4: fact check her on that, her voting record is very
- 14:52Speaker 4: clear and this was a pattern over and over and
- 14:55Speaker 4: over again on energy. So her big train now on
- 15:00Speaker 4: energy as she's run away from her long held position
- 15:04Speaker 4: opposing fracking. Okay, fine, so she's like, yeah, I just
- 15:07Speaker 4: flip flopped on that. What ABC didn't point out is, well,
- 15:11Speaker 4: wait a second, your repeated statements about banning fracking. That's
- 15:14Speaker 4: not the only thing you've done on energy. First week
- 15:17Speaker 4: in office, you and Joe Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Joe Biden when he was campaigning for president, promised to
- 15:24Speaker 4: shut down drilling on shore, on federal lands and offshore.
- 15:27Speaker 4: You put in over ninety different regulations and executive orders
- 15:31Speaker 4: attacking oil and gas production in the United States. That
- 15:35Speaker 4: has had a very direct effect driving up cost. Your
- 15:39Speaker 4: administration banned new permits exporting liquid natural gas, like her
- 15:45Speaker 4: record on energy is terrible, and she has no answer
- 15:50Speaker 4: to that. And by the way, Trump did a good
- 15:52Speaker 4: job on this point of saying, listen, you banned the
- 15:55Speaker 4: Keystone pipeline and gave a giant gift of Vladimir Putin
- 16:00Speaker 4: by allowing him to complete the nord Stream two pipeline,
- 16:03Speaker 4: which caused the war in Ukraine. And that's something you
- 16:05Speaker 4: and I have talked about in this podcast a lot.
- 16:08Speaker 4: It was my legislation in the Senate that sanctioned Nordstream
- 16:11Speaker 4: two and shut it down. Trump signed my legislation and
- 16:15Speaker 4: Putin literally stopped building the nord Stream two pipeline the
- 16:18Speaker 4: day that Trump signed my sanctions legislation. In the law,
- 16:23Speaker 4: Nordstream two was a dead hunk of metal at the
- 16:25Speaker 4: bottom of the ocean until Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
- 16:28Speaker 4: came into office and they demonstrated weakness and and they
- 16:32Speaker 4: waived the sanctions on nord Stream two, and it was
- 16:35Speaker 4: a multi billion dollar gift to Russia, and it caused
- 16:40Speaker 4: the war in Ukraine. None of that does she have
- 16:43Speaker 4: an answer for.
- 16:45Speaker 2: We just got in the official number. ABC News fact
- 16:49Speaker 2: check Donald Trump seven times, not one time the debate.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Did they fact check Kamala Harris not once? So that's
- 16:59Speaker 2: the official tally now is seven times on Trump. That's
- 17:03Speaker 2: three on one, and I do think that's gonna have
- 17:07Speaker 2: a turn off. I would hope to some of those voters,
- 17:11Speaker 2: maybe in the middle, the undecideds, which very much can
- 17:14Speaker 2: be the deciding factor in this election. Will that play
- 17:18Speaker 2: with undecideds? Do you think did they see the bias
- 17:20Speaker 2: that you and I saw?
- 17:22Speaker 4: They saw that some, but I think they also go
- 17:25Speaker 4: in expecting the media to be biased. So I don't
- 17:27Speaker 4: think anyone is surprised that ABC is a left wing
- 17:31Speaker 4: mouthpiece for the Democrats. That's been the case, sadly for
- 17:34Speaker 4: a long time. For ABCNBCCBSC and AN, MSNBC, all of
- 17:38Speaker 4: them have been mouthpieces for the Democrats. So yes, they
- 17:41Speaker 4: saw it, but again they're not surprised. Look, the critical
- 17:46Speaker 4: thing that we saw tonight is is she doesn't have
- 17:49Speaker 4: a good answer on the chaos at our southern border.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Kamala Harris was the borders are. She is directly responsible
- 17:58Speaker 4: for the worst level of eli immigration in our nation's history.
- 18:02Speaker 4: She is directly responsible for the people who have died.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Eight hundred and fifty three migrants died last year crossing
- 18:10Speaker 4: illegalian in this country. She is responsible for the people,
- 18:15Speaker 4: the women who have been brutally raped. She's responsible for
- 18:18Speaker 4: the children who have been brutalized. She's responsible for the
- 18:21Speaker 4: little boys and little girls who've been horribly assaulted by
- 18:24Speaker 4: human traffickers. She's responsible for the one hundred and ten
- 18:27Speaker 4: thousand Americans who died last year of drug overdoses. She
- 18:31Speaker 4: is responsible for the murderers that she and Joe Biden
- 18:37Speaker 4: had in their custody. Murderers like the illegal alien murder
- 18:40Speaker 4: of Lake and Riley that she and Joe Biden had
- 18:42Speaker 4: in custody, and they released murderers like the illegal alien
- 18:46Speaker 4: murderer of Rachel Morin. That illegal alien was in her custody,
- 18:50Speaker 4: she released them. Murderers like the illegal alien murderers of
- 18:56Speaker 4: Joscelyn Hungary. Both of them were in her custody and
- 18:59Speaker 4: she and Joe Biden released them. And so that record,
- 19:03Speaker 4: she was not forced tonight to answer for any of
- 19:05Speaker 4: that record and that but but it demonstrated that she
- 19:11Speaker 4: does not have a good response. And and that's what
- 19:16Speaker 4: I think the next two months, the Trump campaign has
- 19:20Speaker 4: to prosecute systematically based on the facts. Here is her record,
- 19:25Speaker 4: Here is what she has done, and it hasn't worked.
- 19:28Speaker 4: It has failed, and the American people are worse off
- 19:33Speaker 4: as a result of the failures of her extreme policies.
- 19:37Speaker 2: You mentioned Donald Trump's got to bring up some more
- 19:39Speaker 2: of this stuff, and I think you and I have
- 19:42Speaker 2: talked about this, but let's just remind people since Kamayers
- 19:45Speaker 2: took off as total prices are up over twenty percent,
- 19:48Speaker 2: car insurance up fifty four percent, hotels are up say
- 19:51Speaker 2: when you were in a hotel fifty one point two percent,
- 19:54Speaker 2: Gases up fifty point fifty percent, fuel oil is up
- 19:57Speaker 2: forty nine point one, transportation up thirty two point nine.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Electricity is up thirty one point seven percent. Baby food's
- 20:05Speaker 2: up over thirty percent, eating out of up twenty five percent,
- 20:09Speaker 2: airfare up twenty three percent, rent up twenty two percent,
- 20:12Speaker 2: and groceries are up about twenty two percent as well.
- 20:17Speaker 2: That's what they've got to focus on, every single one
- 20:20Speaker 2: of his surrogate's not all this other and the weed stuff.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I really do believe they've got to keep it simple
- 20:27Speaker 2: for the American voter, especially if you're trying to go
- 20:30Speaker 2: after undecided.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Sure, and that's what we talked about in Monday's pod,
- 20:35Speaker 4: that the focus needs to be on.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Harms, harms, harms.
- 20:39Speaker 4: How are people's lives worth aught worse off because of
- 20:44Speaker 4: the horrible policies that Kamala Harris is directly responsible for.
- 20:48Speaker 4: And that's true on inflation, she was literally the tie
- 20:51Speaker 4: breaking vote behind the trillions of spending that unleash this inflation.
- 20:57Speaker 4: It's true on energy, she and Joe Biden, and it
- 21:00Speaker 4: has been their executive orders and their regulations that have
- 21:03Speaker 4: driven up energy prices.
- 21:05Speaker 3: And it's true on the border.
- 21:07Speaker 4: And and let me play there that there was one
- 21:09Speaker 4: of the best exchanges with something Trump said on the
- 21:12Speaker 4: border where he made the point that that that that listened,
- 21:15Speaker 4: she could secure the border today, and and and and
- 21:18Speaker 4: and listen listen to this what he said to her.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Right now, I would say we would both leave this
- 21:23Speaker 6: debate right now. I'd like to see her go down
- 21:27Speaker 6: to Washington, D C. During this debate, because we're wasting
- 21:30Speaker 6: a lot of time.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Go down to.
- 21:32Speaker 6: Because she's been so bad, it's so ridiculous.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Go down to Washington, D C.
- 21:36Speaker 6: And let her sign a bill to close up the border,
- 21:39Speaker 6: because they have the right to do it.
- 21:41Speaker 1: They don't need bills.
- 21:42Speaker 6: They have the right to do the President of the
- 21:44Speaker 6: United States, you'll get them out of bed.
- 21:46Speaker 3: You'll wake them up at four o'clock in the afternoon.
- 21:48Speaker 6: You'll say, come on, come on down to the office,
- 21:50Speaker 6: let's sign a bill.
- 21:51Speaker 1: It was a great moment in the debate.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Yeah, look, that point is very powerful. And understand, this
- 21:58Speaker 4: invasion at our southern border, it is happening right now today.
- 22:03Speaker 4: There are hundreds, if not thousands of illegal immigrants crossing
- 22:08Speaker 4: the border right now today today Joe Biden and Kamala
- 22:12Speaker 4: Harris are apprehending hundreds, if not thousands of illegal aliens
- 22:15Speaker 4: and they're going to release them tomorrow. There are criminals
- 22:19Speaker 4: they're going to release tomorrow. There are murderers they're going
- 22:22Speaker 4: to release going forward. There are rapists, there are child molestors,
- 22:25Speaker 4: and they keep on doing it. And the point Trump
- 22:28Speaker 4: is making, and listen, his campaign needs to follow this
- 22:31Speaker 4: up by explaining, by really explaining. Look, when Joe Biden
- 22:37Speaker 4: and Kamala Harris came into office, they inherited the lowest
- 22:41Speaker 4: rate of illegal immigration in forty five years Donald Trump.
- 22:44Speaker 4: I worked hand in hand with President Trump to secure
- 22:47Speaker 4: the border, and we had incredible success. When Trump was president,
- 22:52Speaker 4: the border was secure, and it was unilateral executive actions
- 22:57Speaker 4: that caused this crisis. Three to decisions that Biden Harris
- 23:01Speaker 4: did in the very first week. Number one, they immediately
- 23:05Speaker 4: halted construction of the border wall. Number two, they reinstated
- 23:09Speaker 4: the disastrous policy of catch and release, and number three
- 23:12Speaker 4: they pulled out of the incredibly successful Remain in Mexico agreement.
- 23:16Speaker 4: All three of those they could reverse tomorrow. And so
- 23:21Speaker 4: the point like literally go down to the White House
- 23:23Speaker 4: right now and do it. That is absolutely right. It
- 23:26Speaker 4: is also right that if and I pray when Trump
- 23:30Speaker 4: is reelected that he will reverse all three of those
- 23:34Speaker 4: decisions on January twentieth of next year, and we will
- 23:38Speaker 4: see the border crisis end, and it will end quickly.
- 23:40Speaker 3: And so that point was very effective.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Let me say also, ben I thought the foreign policy
- 23:47Speaker 4: portion of the debate was particularly strong for Trump, and
- 23:51Speaker 4: it was very weak for Kamala Harris. At one point,
- 23:53Speaker 4: she looks over at Trump and says, well, you know,
- 23:56Speaker 4: everyone knows that he was weak and ineffective on foreign policy.
- 24:00Speaker 4: And I got to say to me that that was
- 24:02Speaker 4: a laugh line. And listen, if you look across the globe,
- 24:07Speaker 4: we had peace and prosperity when Trump was president. We
- 24:10Speaker 4: had no foreign wars, and in fact, we saw peace
- 24:14Speaker 4: breaking out in the Middle East. We saw the Abraham
- 24:16Speaker 4: Accords being signed, we saw Arabs and Israelis coming together.
- 24:21Speaker 4: And I think it is absolutely the case that if
- 24:24Speaker 4: Trump were still in the White House today, the war
- 24:27Speaker 4: in Ukraine would not have happened.
- 24:28Speaker 3: In the war in Israel would not have happened.
- 24:30Speaker 4: That it was Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's weakness that
- 24:34Speaker 4: caused those wars. And critically, and Trump did a good
- 24:38Speaker 4: job of this too, laying out that Listen, Kamala Harris
- 24:42Speaker 4: has flowed over one hundred billion dollars to Iran. Iran
- 24:47Speaker 4: provides ninety percent of the funding for Hamas, ninety percent
- 24:49Speaker 4: of the funding for Hesbela. Kamala Harris in a very
- 24:53Speaker 4: real sense paid for the death squads that carried out
- 24:57Speaker 4: the atrocities on October seventh. And Kamala has no answer
- 25:03Speaker 4: to that. And tonight showed that powerfully.
- 25:06Speaker 2: You know, I also think and you go to the
- 25:08Speaker 2: end of the debate that one of the best parts
- 25:11Speaker 2: was actually Donald Trump in his closing argument, and it
- 25:15Speaker 2: goes back to the campaign strategy I think he needs
- 25:17Speaker 2: to have moving forward, and that is to make sure
- 25:21Speaker 2: he makes this about what she has done in comparison
- 25:29Speaker 2: to what she claims she wants to do while she's
- 25:31Speaker 2: in charge.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Like you're in charge, you're in charge, You're in charge?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Is it in Trump?
- 25:36Speaker 6: So she just started by saying she's going to do this,
- 25:39Speaker 6: She's going to do that, She's going to do all
- 25:41Speaker 6: these wonderful things. Why hasn't she done it? She's been
- 25:45Speaker 6: there for three and a half years. They've had three
- 25:47Speaker 6: and a half years to fix the border, They've had
- 25:50Speaker 6: three and a half years to create jobs and all
- 25:53Speaker 6: the things we talked about.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Why hasn't she done it?
- 25:57Speaker 6: She should leave right now, go down to that beautiful
- 26:00Speaker 6: White House, go to the Capitol, get everyone together, and
- 26:03Speaker 6: do the things you want to do. But you haven't
- 26:05Speaker 6: done it, and you won't do it because you believe
- 26:08Speaker 6: in things that the American people don't believe in.
- 26:11Speaker 2: It's a great line and I wish it would have
- 26:14Speaker 2: been used even more.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the closing was Trump's best best part
- 26:19Speaker 4: of the entire debate, and that that was exactly the
- 26:21Speaker 4: right message. It's a message that the Trump campaign should
- 26:25Speaker 4: amplify every day between now an election day. Listen, you
- 26:28Speaker 4: and I have talked about how kamalas trying to engage
- 26:31Speaker 4: in this divorced from reality campaign where she pretends she's
- 26:35Speaker 4: not in office, that she's not the incumbent, she disavows
- 26:39Speaker 4: all responsibility for the mess that is happening, and in fact,
- 26:43Speaker 4: she's behaving as if Donald Trump is the incumbent president
- 26:47Speaker 4: and she's the change candidate. She is in office right now.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Joe Biden is in office right now, and on every
- 26:55Speaker 4: single level, on inflation, on crime, on the legal immigration,
- 27:01Speaker 4: on foreign policy, on safety and security, the world was
- 27:06Speaker 4: much much better when Trump was president than it is today,
- 27:09Speaker 4: and that that needs to be emphasized every day between
- 27:13Speaker 4: now an election day.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Cent Her final question, I think for you and really
- 27:17Speaker 2: for me, when I was watching this tonight and it say, okay,
- 27:21Speaker 2: where do we go from here?
- 27:22Speaker 1: I'm in favor of another debate.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I think you you covered that earlier, right, You agree
- 27:27Speaker 2: Trump should do another one number one.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Yes, but I don't think she will.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I think you will so your prediction is she's done yep.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Number two.
- 27:37Speaker 2: If you're Donald Trump, what do you learn for tonight
- 27:41Speaker 2: and what do you take into your big campaign rallies
- 27:43Speaker 2: from this, and what is your messaging to your surrogates
- 27:46Speaker 2: tomorrow on the surrogate call.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I think the message is she cannot defend.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Her record, and her record is a failure. The American
- 27:54Speaker 4: people are worse off. But but listen, I think it's
- 27:57Speaker 4: important to remember also, this is not about Donald Trump,
- 28:01Speaker 4: and it's not about Kamala Harris. It is about the
- 28:04Speaker 4: American people it is about It is about young, young
- 28:08Speaker 4: couples who are going out and buying their first home
- 28:11Speaker 4: and they're discovering that a seven and a half percent
- 28:13Speaker 4: mortgage rate is much much worse than a two and
- 28:16Speaker 4: a half percent mortgage rate that you get about half
- 28:18Speaker 4: the house. That's happening right now today, people are hurting.
- 28:21Speaker 4: It's about a single mom who's trying to make ends meet,
- 28:25Speaker 4: and she can't afford to buy groceries anymore because the
- 28:28Speaker 4: prices have gone so high, and when she tries to
- 28:30Speaker 4: fill up her tank to go to work, it just
- 28:32Speaker 4: about breaks her. It's about the people who are suffering.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Look today. On September tenth, there was a ceremony in
- 28:44Speaker 4: the Capitol where the Congressional Gold Medal was awarded to
- 28:50Speaker 4: the thirteen servicemen and women who were murdered in Afghanistan
- 28:54Speaker 4: from the absolutely disastrous and incompetent withdrawal from Abbigate. Of
- 29:00Speaker 4: the families were there, and it was a beautiful ceremony,
- 29:03Speaker 4: and the families. I spoke to many of the families.
- 29:06Speaker 4: I thanked every one of them that I could to
- 29:10Speaker 4: say thank you for your service and sacrifice.
- 29:12Speaker 3: I'm sorry. But I also to many of them.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Had a follow up conversation where I said, there needs
- 29:19Speaker 4: to be accountability. There has been zero accountability. That the
- 29:25Speaker 4: focus for the campaign every day from now to election
- 29:30Speaker 4: day needs to be the difference between Trump's record and
- 29:34Speaker 4: Kamala's record and critically bringing it home to the voters
- 29:38Speaker 4: how their lives were much better when Trump was president
- 29:42Speaker 4: than they have been under Kamala, and that her policies
- 29:46Speaker 4: are failures and they're hurting the American people. That's got
- 29:50Speaker 4: to be the central message.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yeah, as you mentioned a second ago, on this anniversary
- 29:55Speaker 2: of nine to eleven, I think it's important that we
- 29:59Speaker 2: also take as back remember how important it is that
- 30:02Speaker 2: you have competent leaders that understand how important it is
- 30:05Speaker 2: to protect and defend the homeland, to protect and defend freedom.
- 30:10Speaker 2: And also just a moment to say thank you to
- 30:13Speaker 2: all of those that serve this country, to all of
- 30:15Speaker 2: those that wear the uniform, to all those that have
- 30:18Speaker 2: given the ultimate sacrifices and their families. There were so
- 30:22Speaker 2: many people that died on nine to eleven, but there
- 30:25Speaker 2: was also the second part, and that was so many
- 30:28Speaker 2: that died because they wanted to protect and defend us
- 30:32Speaker 2: after nine to eleven that gave the ultimate sacrifice. And
- 30:35Speaker 2: I said to everybody listening, say thank you to a veteran.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Text them. Everybody knows a veteran, tell them thank you.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I had the privilege of playing golf today with some
- 30:47Speaker 2: of those that actually took out some of the worst
- 30:50Speaker 2: terrorists in the world, some special operators, and they were
- 30:54Speaker 2: amazing guys, and I say to them, thank you, because
- 30:59Speaker 2: without you giving up years of your life and risking
- 31:02Speaker 2: your life and losing your brothers in uniform, we wouldn't
- 31:06Speaker 2: have the freedoms we have today.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And that's what we need to remember. I think during
- 31:09Speaker 1: this election season as well.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Don't forget. We do this show Monday, Wednesday, Friday on Verdict.
