Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Jimmy Kimmel OUT! Not 'Cancel Culture' but 'Consequence Culture'
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: ABC News is pulling Jimmy Kimmel Live quote indefinitely. Why
- 0:08Speaker 1: did this happen because of comments that he made about
- 0:12Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk. But it wasn't just that. It was more
- 0:16Speaker 1: about follow the money. Next Star Media, one of the
- 0:20Speaker 1: nation's largest TV station owners, said that it would stop
- 0:26Speaker 1: airing the program in response to Jimmy Kimmel's remarks about
- 0:30Speaker 1: the killing of conservative activists and friend Charlie Kirk. Now,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you may be asking yourself what did he say, because
- 0:38Speaker 1: the majority of you listening, I have a feeling did
- 0:41Speaker 1: not watch Jimmy Kimmel when he did this or ever.
- 0:45Speaker 1: So I'm going to play it for you and then
- 0:47Speaker 1: you can decide afterwards if you believe ABC got it right.
- 0:51Speaker 1: All right, I want to take a moment and I
- 0:53Speaker 1: want to talk to you real quick about what you
- 0:55Speaker 1: can do to help the people in Israel. It was
- 0:59Speaker 1: nearly two years ago that the terrorists murdered more than
- 1:03Speaker 1: twelve hundred innocent Israelis and they took two hundred and
- 1:06Speaker 1: fifty hostages. Today, it seems as if the cries of
- 1:10Speaker 1: the dead and dying have been drowned out by the
- 1:12Speaker 1: shouts of anti Semitism and just pure hatred, not just
- 1:15Speaker 1: in America but around the world. And the most brutal
- 1:18Speaker 1: attack on Jewish people happened. It happened since the Holocausts,
- 1:23Speaker 1: and now it's like they're trying to act like it
- 1:26Speaker 1: never happened. Now, this is where it is important for
- 1:29Speaker 1: us to stand with the people in Israel. It's a
- 1:32Speaker 1: movement of love and support for the people of Israel,
- 1:36Speaker 1: and this is where I want you to get involved.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It is called Flags of Fellowship.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's being organized by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
- 1:46Speaker 1: On October fifth, you can stand with Israel and the
- 1:50Speaker 1: victims proudly. Just a few weeks away, millions across America
- 1:55Speaker 1: will prayerfully plant an Israeli flag in honor with the
- 2:00Speaker 1: victims of October the seventh, twenty twenty three, and stand
- 2:05Speaker 1: with their grieving families. You can be a part of
- 2:08Speaker 1: this movement as well. And that's what I love about
- 2:11Speaker 1: what IFCJ does. They're making sure that the world knows
- 2:15Speaker 1: there are there are lots of people of faith in
- 2:17Speaker 1: this country and friends and advocates for Israel.
- 2:21Speaker 2: They're going to stand with them.
- 2:23Speaker 1: You can get more information about how you can join
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Flags of Fellowship movement, including your church. There are
- 2:30Speaker 1: going to be countless church around the country. They're going
- 2:32Speaker 1: to plant flags as well. So all you have to
- 2:35Speaker 1: do to get involved with Flags of Fellowship movement is
- 2:38Speaker 1: go to IFCJ dot org. That's IFCJ dot org. Stand
- 2:44Speaker 1: with Israel on October the fifth, it's just a few
- 2:46Speaker 1: weeks away. And if your church you think would want
- 2:49Speaker 1: to be involved, you can also find out more about
- 2:51Speaker 1: how to get your church to be involved on a
- 2:54Speaker 1: special Sunday at IFCJ dot org.
- 2:57Speaker 2: That's if CJ.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Now, I also want to say this, I don't think
- 3:03Speaker 1: ABC got it right for the reasons you may want
- 3:07Speaker 1: to believe.
- 3:08Speaker 2: What do I mean by that.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'll explain it in a moment, But here is what
- 3:11Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel said when he went on the air and
- 3:13Speaker 1: told the ABC audience that Charlie Kirk's assassin was a
- 3:18Speaker 1: MAGA Conservative that, by the way, is a lie and
- 3:23Speaker 1: what does that mean? In translation, he was literally blaming
- 3:28Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk for his own assassination. He wasn't done there,
- 3:33Speaker 1: by the way. He then accused the Right of covering
- 3:36Speaker 1: it up to quote score political points. All of these
- 3:41Speaker 1: statements are false. All of them are malicious lies told
- 3:46Speaker 1: at the expense of one of the most horrific acts
- 3:48Speaker 1: of the left wing political violence in modern political American history.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So would you defend this well, ABC, many would believe
- 3:59Speaker 1: had no choice but to bench or fire Kimmel for
- 4:04Speaker 1: what he had to say in his monologue. And let's
- 4:07Speaker 1: also be clear, this was pre planned, it was well written,
- 4:11Speaker 1: it was organized, It wasn't off the coff This is
- 4:14Speaker 1: part of the show that night, and here it is get.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Some new lows over the weekend with the Magga Gang
- 4:21Speaker 3: desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk
- 4:25Speaker 3: as anything other than one of them, and do everything
- 4:27Speaker 3: they can to score political points from and in between
- 4:30Speaker 3: the finger pointing, there was grieving. On Friday, the White
- 4:33Speaker 3: House flew the flags at half staff, which got some criticism,
- 4:37Speaker 3: but on a human level, you can see how hard
- 4:40Speaker 3: the President is taking this back adults on a lot of.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Your friend Charlie Kirk asked sir personally, how are you
- 4:46Speaker 4: holding up over the last day and a half served.
- 4:48Speaker 5: I think very good.
- 4:49Speaker 6: And by the way, right there, you see all the trucks.
- 4:52Speaker 6: They just started construction of the new ball room for
- 4:55Speaker 6: the White House.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Which is something they've been trying to get, as.
- 4:58Speaker 6: You know, for about one hundred and fifty years, and
- 5:00Speaker 6: it's going to be a beauty.
- 5:04Speaker 3: He's at the fourth stage of grief construction, demolition.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Construction.
- 5:13Speaker 3: This is not how an adult grief's the murder of
- 5:15Speaker 3: somebody called a friend. This is how a four year
- 5:17Speaker 3: old mourns a goldfish.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Okay, you listen to what he had to say there.
- 5:22Speaker 1: He also mocked not only the murder, but what was
- 5:26Speaker 1: behind it. Now, this is normal for Jimmy Kimmel. And
- 5:31Speaker 1: you may say, Ben, that's not true. Show me evidence.
- 5:35Speaker 1: How can you say that this is normal? All right,
- 5:38Speaker 1: let me just remind you a couple months ago. You
- 5:41Speaker 1: remember when Jimmy Kimmel's audience actually cheered when Tesla's stock
- 5:47Speaker 1: was down, and he smugly called for more Tesla attacks
- 5:51Speaker 1: as there were anarchists out there attacking Tesla's setting them
- 5:54Speaker 1: on fire, setting dealerships on fire. This was Jimmy Kimmel
- 5:59Speaker 1: when he hates did Elon Musk because he was working
- 6:01Speaker 1: with the president.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Our co president. Elon Musk sent a SpaceX vehicle to
- 6:07Speaker 3: bring the astronauts back, and when they landed, he fired
- 6:10Speaker 3: them immediately upon landing. Tesla stock is way down, almost
- 6:14Speaker 3: disastrously sold people.
- 6:18Speaker 5: People haven't.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Vandalizing Tesla vehicles, new Tesla vehicles. Please don't vandalize. Don't
- 6:26Speaker 3: ever vandalize Tesla vehicles.
- 6:28Speaker 5: And so.
- 6:32Speaker 1: You know when I listened to that, it is consistent
- 6:35Speaker 1: with what he's been doing for years. Year after year,
- 6:40Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel comes on TV and trashes half of America. Now,
- 6:44Speaker 1: let's talk about the business side of this so that
- 6:48Speaker 1: you understand why ABC really may.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Have made this move.
- 6:52Speaker 1: It could be because they were looking for a way out.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It is reported by the Way that Jimmy Kimmel's salary
- 6:59Speaker 1: is massive sixteen million dollars a year. According to Forbes,
- 7:05Speaker 1: Kimmel is ranked as the twenty third most highest paid
- 7:08Speaker 1: TV host in twenty twenty five, and again, sixteen million
- 7:12Speaker 1: is an awful lot of money. The Economic Times reporting
- 7:16Speaker 1: right now, Jimmy Kimmel loses his annual salary of sixteen
- 7:20Speaker 1: million after ABC sacks him over to Charlie Kirk controversy.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Check his net worth. He's gonna be by the way
- 7:28Speaker 1: just fine. And there's also word that he's gonna keep
- 7:32Speaker 1: hosting other shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,
- 7:36Speaker 1: which will make him even more money as well. But
- 7:40Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel is a guy that's not as popular as
- 7:43Speaker 1: he used to be, and part of that is because
- 7:45Speaker 1: of the hatred and the bigotry towards conservatives on his show.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Each and every night, he brings on people to mock conservatives,
- 7:54Speaker 1: to ridicule conservatives, to trash conservatives, to advocate for vioue
- 8:00Speaker 1: against things like Tesla dealerships because of Elon Musk, and
- 8:05Speaker 1: mocking Donald Trump every chance he gets. So is it
- 8:09Speaker 1: harder now for ABC to make money off of Jimmy
- 8:12Speaker 1: Kimmel that it's ever been. Yeah, And maybe this was
- 8:16Speaker 1: their way of saying, we get a get out of
- 8:18Speaker 1: jail free card from a long term contract. Let's not forget.
- 8:23Speaker 1: They just announced the announcement that they were getting rid
- 8:27Speaker 1: of Stephen Colbert. And it wasn't because he said something
- 8:30Speaker 1: about Charlie Kirk. It was because of the financial aspect
- 8:34Speaker 1: of the show. By the way, Stephen Colbert didn't say, hey,
- 8:37Speaker 1: drop my salary or I won't take a salary or
- 8:39Speaker 1: take care of the people around me, and stead he
- 8:42Speaker 1: complained that this was somehow cancel culture. Well, no, it
- 8:46Speaker 1: was about dollars and cents, which brings me to this
- 8:49Speaker 1: idea that this is somehow cancel culture, and that free
- 8:53Speaker 1: speech is being silenced, and that we should all be
- 8:56Speaker 1: terrified or concerned. The left is losing their mind over this.
- 9:00Speaker 1: They can't believe that someone that alienated at least half
- 9:03Speaker 1: of America every single night, mocking them, ridiculing them, and
- 9:07Speaker 1: chastising them could then all of a sudden get themselves
- 9:11Speaker 1: in a bad spot with ratings when the audience has
- 9:15Speaker 1: been diluted. We've all seen this among broadcast TV. We've
- 9:19Speaker 1: also seen it among radio. That phone that many people
- 9:23Speaker 1: have in their hand right now has changed the way
- 9:26Speaker 1: that people spend their time. No longer do people sit
- 9:29Speaker 1: in front of the TV and say, hey, who does
- 9:31Speaker 1: Leno have on tonight? Or who does Letterman have on tonight?
- 9:35Speaker 1: Many people don't even know which network Kimmel's on or
- 9:38Speaker 1: Colbert or whoever the other person is on the other network.
- 9:41Speaker 1: You get my point. This is the reality of late
- 9:46Speaker 1: night television. It is not what it used to be.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Nowhere close in fact, it isn't even the redhead stepchild of.
- 9:53Speaker 2: What it used to be. So you take a look
- 9:56Speaker 2: at this, and this may have been.
- 9:58Speaker 1: A chance for ABC News to actually fix a problem
- 10:02Speaker 1: that they had financially and do it under the cover
- 10:05Speaker 1: of well, you said some really mean things about Charlie.
- 10:09Speaker 1: But what is the media doing with it. Well, they're
- 10:11Speaker 1: going to the completely opposite direction. They're now claiming that this
- 10:17Speaker 1: is Donald Trump, a dictator and a tyrant doing cancel culture.
- 10:22Speaker 1: By the way, Donald Trump did not cancel Jimmy Kimmel.
- 10:25Speaker 1: The liberals at ABC and Disney are the ones that
- 10:28Speaker 1: did it. I want you to listen to what was
- 10:31Speaker 1: said on CNN tonight. Brian Skelter, a guy that was
- 10:36Speaker 1: fired and now brought back to CNN, had this to
- 10:40Speaker 1: say on Aaron Burnett's show Listen carefully.
- 10:43Speaker 7: Truly dropped, as I think a shock to anybody who
- 10:46Speaker 7: heard it, even if they knew the Brendan Carr, the
- 10:50Speaker 7: pro Trump chief of the FCC, had made the comments
- 10:53Speaker 7: he made on that podcast. I don't think there's anybody
- 10:55Speaker 7: who literally thought within hours Jimmy Kimmel would be gone.
- 10:58Speaker 8: Right, absolutely right. In fact, this was very sudden this afternoon,
- 11:03Speaker 8: after car spoke out on that far right podcast. Then
- 11:07Speaker 8: some stations that are owned by other companies but affiliated
- 11:10Speaker 8: with ABC started to complain to ABC. We know one
- 11:14Speaker 8: of them, Next Star, which has about two dozen stations
- 11:17Speaker 8: with the ABC logo and all the ABC programming. Nextstar,
- 11:20Speaker 8: publicly announced that they were going to drop Kimmel's show indefinitely.
- 11:24Speaker 8: Within a matter of minutes, we heard from Disney that
- 11:26Speaker 8: the show was being pulled all together. That suggests to
- 11:29Speaker 8: me that other station owners were probably also getting scared.
- 11:33Speaker 8: Other station owners were probably also coming up with backup
- 11:36Speaker 8: plans not to air Kimmel's show. But even though we're
- 11:39Speaker 8: talking about comedy, this is so serious, Aaron, America is
- 11:43Speaker 8: a less free place if late night comedians cannot do
- 11:47Speaker 8: and say what they want.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Let's just stop there and go to that last statement.
- 11:53Speaker 1: America is a less free place if late night comedians
- 11:57Speaker 1: cannot do and say what they want. You can say
- 12:01Speaker 1: what you want. There are consequences, However, when you lie.
- 12:06Speaker 1: He lied about the assassin. He blamed Charlie Kirk for
- 12:10Speaker 1: his own death. He lied and said it was some
- 12:13Speaker 1: sort of magic conservative when we all know this was
- 12:16Speaker 1: a radical lefty that was angry about what was being
- 12:20Speaker 1: said by Charlie Kirk about his transgendered lover. This was
- 12:26Speaker 1: someone that said he couldn't handle Charlie Kirk's words. You
- 12:29Speaker 1: want to talk about free place, Charlie Kirk wasn't free
- 12:32Speaker 1: to say what he wanted to say. By the way,
- 12:34Speaker 1: CNN won't say that. What they will say is Jimmy Kimmel,
- 12:38Speaker 1: who is one of their mouth pieces for the hate
- 12:41Speaker 1: of the left and the lies that are put out
- 12:44Speaker 1: by the left is now gone and they're upset about it.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So what they said is, well, oh my gosh, this
- 12:51Speaker 1: is we are less safe tonight. Free speech is left.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Say no, it's not. You can say whatever you want
- 12:56Speaker 1: to say when you're on radio and TV.
- 12:59Speaker 2: It may cost to your job if you lie.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And then he went on to say this claiming that
- 13:05Speaker 1: this is somehow something that should go to the viewers,
- 13:08Speaker 1: by the way, and saying, well, if you don't like
- 13:10Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel, we should keep paying him sixty million dollars
- 13:12Speaker 1: a year. And you can just turn the channel, right,
- 13:14Speaker 1: that's liberal logic.
- 13:16Speaker 8: Of course, they can be tuned out. People can change
- 13:18Speaker 8: the channel.
- 13:20Speaker 2: People can change the channel a lot of people did.
- 13:22Speaker 1: By the way, you think ABC News canceled this guy
- 13:25Speaker 1: because he has massive ratings. No, they canceled this guy
- 13:28Speaker 1: because the alien and half the country. And then he
- 13:30Speaker 1: blamed a man who was gunned down in the prime
- 13:34Speaker 1: of his life for his own death. The other thing
- 13:38Speaker 1: about free speech that's just a total lie about the
- 13:41Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel cancelation is the fact that like he can't
- 13:46Speaker 1: talk anymore, Jimmy Kimmel is still free to speak the
- 13:48Speaker 1: bigotry and the lies and the hatred towards conservatives, and
- 13:52Speaker 1: the lies about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He can
- 13:57Speaker 1: still rant all he wants to. He can do it
- 13:59Speaker 1: on social media accounts. But ABC doesn't have to pay
- 14:02Speaker 1: him to do that. They don't owe him a paycheck
- 14:05Speaker 1: to lie on national TV. And this was a TRIFECTA
- 14:11Speaker 1: number one viewers had had enough and there had been
- 14:14Speaker 1: a real decline in his ratings. Affiliates had had enough,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and he had lost major affiliates. This was a business
- 14:25Speaker 1: decision that was made, by the way. I believe that
- 14:28Speaker 1: if there was any way to keep going with Jimmy
- 14:31Speaker 1: Kimmel financially after they were losing These stations that were
- 14:36Speaker 1: saying we've had enough, they would have done it, but
- 14:40Speaker 1: they clearly saw that this was the end of the road.
- 14:44Speaker 1: The same way, without a controversy, another late night host
- 14:49Speaker 1: had alienated more than half of Americans by mocking them
- 14:52Speaker 1: and ridiculing them every day. And when you do that,
- 14:56Speaker 1: you have a smaller audience to grab from, and when
- 14:59Speaker 1: that audience deluded because they're watching so many other options
- 15:03Speaker 1: on demand and viewing habits of change, you end up
- 15:07Speaker 1: at a point where it's just not economically feasible to
- 15:12Speaker 1: keep Stephen Colbert on the air. That's why they made
- 15:15Speaker 1: the decision at that network. So this was probably a
- 15:20Speaker 1: moment where ABC News is like, thank you, thank you
- 15:23Speaker 1: for being this stupid, thank you for saying something that
- 15:28Speaker 1: we can't even defend.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Thank you for saying something that we all know is
- 15:31Speaker 2: a lie. And now we have.
- 15:34Speaker 1: The opportunity to get rid of you, and we get
- 15:37Speaker 1: to save a bunch of money.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think that's as simple as this really is.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And all the media that is coming out there and
- 15:46Speaker 1: losing their minds David Axerot on CNN as well, saying,
- 15:50Speaker 1: you know, this is what happens when you get a
- 15:52Speaker 1: radical like Donald Trump in the White House. And this
- 15:55Speaker 1: is what happens when Donald Trump is designating leftist groups.
- 15:58Speaker 2: As terrorist organizations.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'll get to that in a moment, but listen to
- 16:01Speaker 1: what he had to say about this is again, this
- 16:04Speaker 1: is a political enemies list. Jimmy Kimmel and now any
- 16:07Speaker 1: of these other terrorist groups, and there our groups and
- 16:10Speaker 1: he claims are terrorists.
- 16:11Speaker 9: I think you had We owe it to the president,
- 16:14Speaker 9: we owe it to the people around him to.
- 16:16Speaker 5: Take him seriously.
- 16:18Speaker 9: He's been saying not just before but before since the
- 16:21Speaker 9: Kirk assassination, but before it, that he was going to
- 16:24Speaker 9: go after, say George Soros, because he said he was
- 16:27Speaker 9: funding agitators. And this thing tonight, this post should not
- 16:32Speaker 9: be dismissed because what it means is he will define,
- 16:35Speaker 9: just as they will define the public interest, they will
- 16:38Speaker 9: define what is Antifa, and they will go after everyone
- 16:42Speaker 9: and everything that they put under that umbrella. Even though
- 16:46Speaker 9: it isn't an organization, it is a it is a
- 16:49Speaker 9: in many ways mythology, but it gives them, you know,
- 16:54Speaker 9: a pretext to go after their political enemies. And you know,
- 16:58Speaker 9: Ram said, Karas said, well, you know, voters have a say.
- 17:01Speaker 9: They do have a say, but this is going to
- 17:05Speaker 9: be a major effort to try and defund any opposition
- 17:10Speaker 9: in this country by doing it under this rubric of
- 17:14Speaker 9: Antifa and the radical left. I think this is an
- 17:17Speaker 9: inflection moment, So it's quite concerning.
- 17:20Speaker 2: By the way.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It is an inflection moment, but not for the reasons
- 17:23Speaker 1: you just heard there from David Axod. I'm going to
- 17:27Speaker 1: deal with Antifa in a second, but let me just
- 17:28Speaker 1: go back to one of the things about Jimmy Kimmel
- 17:30Speaker 1: to put it in perspective. It is a fact that
- 17:32Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel lied about Charlie kirk'ssassination. It's a fact that
- 17:35Speaker 1: he blamed him for his own murder, and it's a
- 17:38Speaker 1: fact he mocked him on air. There was a line
- 17:41Speaker 1: that was crossed, and then you had the FCC that
- 17:44Speaker 1: is no longer run by solely leftist radicals, that started
- 17:49Speaker 1: to ask questions. Then you had next Our say we're
- 17:52Speaker 1: not carrying the show. Then you had Sinclair that was
- 17:56Speaker 1: saying we're pulling him from millions of homes. Jimmy destroyed
- 18:01Speaker 1: his own career. Now I don't know if he'll ever recover.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Some say he'll never recover from this. I never say never,
- 18:09Speaker 1: because I know how much the left needs propagandists and
- 18:12Speaker 1: hateful people like Jimmy Kimmel.
- 18:14Speaker 2: On the air.
- 18:15Speaker 1: But this is not and listen to me when I
- 18:19Speaker 1: say this, This is not cancel culture. This is consequence culture.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And these are the consequences for being able to say
- 18:29Speaker 1: and do just vile things for so many years, and
- 18:34Speaker 1: it's finally caught up to them because the audience isn't
- 18:38Speaker 1: there anymore to justify this level of bigotry. And when
- 18:43Speaker 1: you don't have an audience, what do you not have
- 18:47Speaker 1: money coming in from major ad buys. You go back
- 18:51Speaker 1: to Brian's skelterer, who was playing a moment ago, and
- 18:54Speaker 1: you listen to what Brian had to say. He is
- 18:57Speaker 1: freaking out, sky is falling, chicken le saying this is
- 19:01Speaker 1: a chilling decision. If you understand the business of it,
- 19:04Speaker 1: it's not a chilling decision at all. Laura Ingram, by
- 19:08Speaker 1: the way, talking about this on her show, she had
- 19:11Speaker 1: a very interesting take as she said this.
- 19:15Speaker 10: But Byron, I want to get to the big news tonight,
- 19:17Speaker 10: which is that ABC is pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air.
- 19:22Speaker 10: After he made this remark about Charlie.
- 19:25Speaker 3: The Maggie Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who
- 19:29Speaker 3: murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,
- 19:32Speaker 3: and do everything they can to score political points from it.
- 19:37Speaker 11: Byron Well, ABC is a network that broadcast on television
- 19:44Speaker 11: stations that are mostly owned by other companies, and apparently
- 19:47Speaker 11: one of the biggest station owners in the country said
- 19:50Speaker 11: they were not going to air the Kimmel Show anymore
- 19:53Speaker 11: after this. You know, I think with him, as it
- 19:56Speaker 11: was with Stephen Colbert earlier, this was really a cumulative thing,
- 20:00Speaker 11: and I think that Jimmy Kimmel didn't seem to understand
- 20:04Speaker 11: that it's not twenty seventeen anymore. If you think back
- 20:07Speaker 11: to the terrible days of twenty seventeen, when the entire
- 20:11Speaker 11: media was saying Russia, Russia, Russia, twenty four seven, it
- 20:15Speaker 11: dominated everything. This is a different atmosphere today. Of course
- 20:19Speaker 11: Trump is still controversial, of course there is still a resistance,
- 20:23Speaker 11: but this is a serious presidency. They are failing to
- 20:27Speaker 11: grapple with that, and now they're also obviously failing to
- 20:30Speaker 11: grapple with the ugly violence that has arisen here. With
- 20:34Speaker 11: two assassination attempts on Trump and now the killing of
- 20:38Speaker 11: Charlie Kirk.
- 20:40Speaker 10: Your reaction to this news. Mark will be learning more
- 20:42Speaker 10: about it, but what we know so.
- 20:44Speaker 12: Far, well, it's incredible that the Walt Disney Company, which
- 20:49Speaker 12: for many, many years has allowed The View and Jimmy
- 20:53Speaker 12: Kimmel to take up two hours of real estate to
- 20:56Speaker 12: appeal to the big stations in New York and Los
- 20:58Speaker 12: Angeles and Chicago where the audiences are more liberal, and
- 21:02Speaker 12: now at least one station group and I believe it's
- 21:04Speaker 12: at least two where their stations are in more rural
- 21:07Speaker 12: areas and not in the big coastal cities and said no,
- 21:11Speaker 12: a comment like that in the current environment, less than
- 21:14Speaker 12: a week after Charlie Kirk was assassinated is not acceptable.
- 21:18Speaker 12: And the fact that ABC did that under some pressure
- 21:20Speaker 12: from the FCC, but more under pressure from station owners
- 21:23Speaker 12: is a watershed again in the history of a company
- 21:27Speaker 12: that put pumped out the View anti Trump for a decade,
- 21:30Speaker 12: Jimmy Kimmel anti Trump for a decade. No equal time
- 21:33Speaker 12: for MAGA, no equal time for conservative voices. This was
- 21:36Speaker 12: a bridge too far under the circumstances, and it's of
- 21:38Speaker 12: a piece with what we're seeing, which is some government coercion,
- 21:42Speaker 12: but also just the market is speaking. Conservatives watch TV
- 21:46Speaker 12: two and they found that unacceptable.
- 21:49Speaker 10: Environ to those who say, oh, this is cancel culture.
- 21:52Speaker 10: Now you're embracing cancel culture. I hit this last night,
- 21:56Speaker 10: but I want to give you the chance to hit
- 21:57Speaker 10: that ridiculously stupid retort. What we're talking about, Well, well, I.
- 22:03Speaker 11: Think Marcus is right in the sense that the market
- 22:06Speaker 11: is speaking in this case, and obviously making a joke,
- 22:12Speaker 11: any joke about this assassination at this time just seems
- 22:17Speaker 11: to be incredibly reckless, and making one based on a
- 22:21Speaker 11: libelous falsehood is even worse. So he obviously did not
- 22:27Speaker 11: get the comedian here, did not get the feelings of
- 22:32Speaker 11: the mass of his audience. He was so used to
- 22:34Speaker 11: resistance narrow casting, which is what the late night shows
- 22:38Speaker 11: had become, that he lost track.
- 22:40Speaker 10: Of that they ceased to be funny because they cease
- 22:45Speaker 10: to connect with the American people. It should go back
- 22:48Speaker 10: and watch Carson and then maybe find their senses of humor.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Mark I couldn't agree, by the way more with Laura there.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And this is how hatred is. Finally the American people
- 22:59Speaker 1: have had enough. They're not watching this crap anymore. They're
- 23:04Speaker 1: not gonna sit there and have their lives and their
- 23:06Speaker 1: values be mocked. And you expect me to watch the show?
- 23:11Speaker 1: And so did he cross the line?
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yes? Is this cancel culture?
- 23:15Speaker 13: No?
- 23:16Speaker 2: And anyone that tells you that is they're lying to you.
- 23:19Speaker 1: This is accountability for saying something egregious on the air
- 23:24Speaker 1: that should not have been said. And by the way,
- 23:27Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel can say it right now and no one
- 23:30Speaker 1: will stop him. It doesn't mean that ABC has to
- 23:33Speaker 1: pay him to say it. I want to talk to
- 23:35Speaker 1: you about my friends at kirk Elliott Precious Metals. Two
- 23:40Speaker 1: days ago, I got my new order of silver. Now
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'm investing in silver right now because the pricing on
- 23:46Speaker 1: it is amazing and the upside well, it's real. I
- 23:49Speaker 1: actually have a one hundred ounce silver bar. It is
- 23:55Speaker 1: actually really cool. It's really heavy because it's one hundred ounces.
- 23:59Speaker 1: But I also know that I bought it at the
- 24:01Speaker 1: right price and I wasn't paying massive up charges on quote.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Rare are special coins and then when you go to
- 24:08Speaker 1: sell them, you take away all of your earning potential.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Why do they do it?
- 24:13Speaker 1: This way at Kurt Elliott because they have transparent pricing
- 24:17Speaker 1: up front.
- 24:17Speaker 2: It's very simple.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You pay eight percent when you buy, and here's what
- 24:22Speaker 1: matters to you the most, nothing when you sell. There
- 24:26Speaker 1: are no hidden fees ever with Kurt Elliott Precious Metals.
- 24:30Speaker 1: This is the reason why I recommend them. It's not
- 24:33Speaker 1: just about investing, it's about making sure you get more

- 25:49Speaker 2: K e pm dot com slash ben.
- 25:52Speaker 1: President Donald Trump has declared that he is designating the
- 25:55Speaker 1: Antifa movement as a major terrorist organization. He also stated
- 26:02Speaker 1: he will recommend that people or organizations funding Antifa be
- 26:07Speaker 1: strongly investigated under the highest legal standards in practices now.
- 26:13Speaker 1: This announcement came in the wake of the assassination of
- 26:16Speaker 1: conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which Trump and his allies say
- 26:20Speaker 1: underscores the need to address what they characterize as left
- 26:25Speaker 1: wing extremism. Now Antifa, you may ask what is it now,
- 26:29Speaker 1: They say it's anti fascists. It's not a single group
- 26:33Speaker 1: or with a hierarchy structure. In fact, it's a loosely
- 26:36Speaker 1: affiliated ideology where people all the time are saying I'm
- 26:40Speaker 1: a member of Antifa and then carrying out many times
- 26:43Speaker 1: criminal activities. Now, because of the decentralization of it, there's
- 26:48Speaker 1: no clear chain of command, which means you have to
- 26:52Speaker 1: actually follow the money. Because without formal membership lists or
- 26:57Speaker 1: centralized leadership. You've got to find out who is funding
- 27:01Speaker 1: Antifa and who on the left is writing the checks
- 27:04Speaker 1: for so many of the things that they actually do. Now,
- 27:07Speaker 1: there are several significant legal obstacles to make this kind
- 27:11Speaker 1: of designation meaningful and also enforceable, and that's exactly what
- 27:16Speaker 1: the President is doing right now. In fact, if you
- 27:20Speaker 1: want to know when this really became a reality, you
- 27:23Speaker 1: can go to the White House in the Oval Office
- 27:25Speaker 1: just two days ago, when the President was asked this
- 27:29Speaker 1: question about Antifa and what it would mean to designate
- 27:34Speaker 1: them a terrorist organization from a member of the press.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Take a listen, yes, given PAULI, what's going on with
- 27:42Speaker 1: Charlotte Kirk's assassination and is.
- 27:44Speaker 5: The left wing of our left wing finance going on?
- 27:47Speaker 5: Do you have plans and actually this is a great.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Opportunity with all of these other do you plan on
- 27:53Speaker 4: designating finally a domestic terrible organization?
- 27:58Speaker 5: Well, it's sus some thing I would do. Yeah, if
- 28:01Speaker 5: I have support from the people back here, I think
- 28:03Speaker 5: would start with Pam, I think, but I would if
- 28:05Speaker 5: you give me, I would do that one hundred percent.
- 28:08Speaker 5: And others also by the way, but Antifa is terrible.
- 28:13Speaker 5: There are other groups, Yeah, there are other groups. We
- 28:16Speaker 5: have some pretty radical groups and they got away with murder.
- 28:19Speaker 5: And also I've been speaking to the Attorney General about
- 28:23Speaker 5: bringing RICO against some of the people that you've been
- 28:25Speaker 5: reading about that have been putting up millions and millions
- 28:28Speaker 5: of dollars for agitation. This is These aren't protests. These
- 28:31Speaker 5: are crimes. What they're doing where they're throwing bricks at
- 28:34Speaker 5: cars of the of Ice and Border Patrol and they
- 28:39Speaker 5: come in a beautiful new car. They're so proud it's
- 28:41Speaker 5: Border Patrol Ice. You know, it's got whatever it is,
- 28:44Speaker 5: and they're throwing rocks at it. And after fifty yards
- 28:48Speaker 5: it looks like an old beat up vehicle. It was
- 28:50Speaker 5: just brand new. It's just bought for the purposes. And
- 28:53Speaker 5: they don't have to take that anymore. I let it
- 28:55Speaker 5: be known, well take responsibility. They don't have to take
- 28:58Speaker 5: it anymore, and they don't want to take it. They
- 29:01Speaker 5: were told by a past administration. It became almost a culture.
- 29:07Speaker 5: If somebody throws a rock at you, do nothing. If
- 29:10Speaker 5: somebody spits in your face, do nothing. And I say,
- 29:14Speaker 5: when they spit you hit do whatever. You want, you
- 29:17Speaker 5: do whatever the hell you want. I watch it. I
- 29:19Speaker 5: watched it so sick it made me for four years.
- 29:22Speaker 5: I had to said, oh, and watch people screaming at
- 29:26Speaker 5: policemen and spitting in their face and they weren't able
- 29:30Speaker 5: to do anything. They just had to grin and beard.
- 29:32Speaker 5: They're standing up like a piece of steel. And a woman.
- 29:37Speaker 5: In many cases women, you can see their professional agitators.
- 29:40Speaker 5: I had one the other night. I had four the
- 29:42Speaker 5: other night, all in one group, total phonies. I started
- 29:46Speaker 5: to scream when I got into a restaurant, Oh, you
- 29:48Speaker 5: know something with Palestine. I said, well, I'm doing a
- 29:51Speaker 5: great job for peace in the Middle East. I should
- 29:54Speaker 5: get lots of awards for that, with the Abraham Accords
- 29:57Speaker 5: and everything else. But a woman just stood up and
- 29:59Speaker 5: said screaming, and she got booed out of the place.
- 30:03Speaker 5: To the people, there are a lot of people in
- 30:05Speaker 5: the restaurant. I went there to show how safe, and
- 30:07Speaker 5: it was safe. I mean a woman, it's just a mouthpiece. Well,
- 30:09Speaker 5: she was a paid shoes, a paid agitator, and you
- 30:13Speaker 5: have a lot of them. And I've asked Pam to
- 30:16Speaker 5: look into that. In terms of Rico bringing Rico cases
- 30:19Speaker 5: against the criminal rico because they should be put in jail.
- 30:22Speaker 5: What they're doing to this country is really a subversive.
- 30:28Speaker 2: That is where all of this really got started.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Now Here is the best part about what this means
- 30:34Speaker 1: moving forward. The consequences of this action on Antifa are huge.
- 30:41Speaker 2: This will now allow the US government.
- 30:42Speaker 1: To increase investigations into individuals or entities that are believed
- 30:48Speaker 1: to provide support to Antifa aka money and logistics supplies.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Trump specifically asked for these types of investigations. It also
- 30:58Speaker 1: outs for potentially executive orders, regulations, policy changes aimed at
- 31:04Speaker 1: curbing political violence or hate speech associated with Antifa. And
- 31:08Speaker 1: then there's the possible legal or administrative sanctions for those
- 31:13Speaker 1: found to be a material support of Antifa if state
- 31:18Speaker 1: or federal laws can be invoked. This is where there
- 31:22Speaker 1: is real consequences for people that are involved with this
- 31:26Speaker 1: radical organization, and you need to find out who is
- 31:29Speaker 1: exactly funding them. Follow the money is everything here. Now
- 31:35Speaker 1: we can also expect legal challenges groups like the ACLU
- 31:39Speaker 1: and the SPLC. They're going to argue that the designation
- 31:43Speaker 1: violates constitutional protection, free assembly, free speech, due process, and
- 31:48Speaker 1: then the courts are going to have to interpret what
- 31:51Speaker 1: designating a terrorist organization means in this context. I think
- 31:55Speaker 1: this is clearly a fight the White House is more
- 31:57Speaker 1: than happy to have. And then there's the political polarization
- 32:01Speaker 1: of this. Democrats are already coming out and saying that
- 32:05Speaker 1: this is a threat to free speech. So let's go
- 32:08Speaker 1: back to the President and what he actually had to
- 32:10Speaker 1: say after designating Antifa a terrorist organization. Here's how CNN
- 32:15Speaker 1: put it as they had to read the president's words.
- 32:19Speaker 14: Now, i don't know if you know this, but I've
- 32:21Speaker 14: just seen that the President on a social media on
- 32:25Speaker 14: a social media's announced I'm pleased to inform our many
- 32:27Speaker 14: USA patriots that I'm designating Antifa, a sick, dangerous radical
- 32:32Speaker 14: left organization, as a major terrorist organization. I'll also be
- 32:35Speaker 14: strongly recommending that those funding Antifa be thoroughly investigated in
- 32:39Speaker 14: accordance with the highest legal standards and practices.
- 32:44Speaker 1: They can't stand the fact that radical organizations that are
- 32:49Speaker 1: out there being funded by dark money from democratic donors,
- 32:52Speaker 1: they are then committing crimes and terrorizing the public, are
- 32:56Speaker 1: no longer going to be able to operate the way
- 32:58Speaker 1: they were under the Biden administration. And by the way,
- 33:02Speaker 1: this is exactly why I voted for Donald Trump, and
- 33:05Speaker 1: I think so many of you did as well. All Right,
- 33:08Speaker 1: I want to move to something else. Also, that's really
- 33:10Speaker 1: important in something that Donald Trump has been asking for
- 33:13Speaker 1: and talking about a lot lately. Donald Trump has repeatedly
- 33:18Speaker 1: urged the FED to cut interest rates more aggressively. For example,
- 33:22Speaker 1: in June of this year, he called for a full
- 33:24Speaker 1: percentage point drop. Also, he said the rates are at
- 33:28Speaker 1: least three percentage points too high. Now, Trump had criticized
- 33:33Speaker 1: the Fed, especially the chair Jerome Powell, for not cutting
- 33:37Speaker 1: sooner or more deeply. He made it very clear he
- 33:40Speaker 1: believed that the cuts need to come and it was
- 33:42Speaker 1: holding the economy back. He even talked about the idea
- 33:46Speaker 1: that it was time to get rid of Jerome Powell,
- 33:48Speaker 1: that he should resign. Well, Jerome is still there. But
- 33:51Speaker 1: the good news is finally the Feds have cut interest
- 33:56Speaker 1: rates by a quarter percentage point. And here's how the
- 33:59Speaker 1: news hit on CNN tell.
- 34:02Speaker 10: Us about this decision.
- 34:03Speaker 13: Matt, Yeah, Brianna, the Fed just delivered an interest rate cut,
- 34:06Speaker 13: and it is the quarter point cut that was widely expected.
- 34:10Speaker 13: Now this is a big deal because it is the
- 34:12Speaker 13: first interest rate cut of the second Trump administration, and
- 34:16Speaker 13: it's sending a clear message that Federal Reserve officials are
- 34:20Speaker 13: more worried about the slumping job market than they are
- 34:23Speaker 13: about stubborn inflation. They're acting now to try to shore
- 34:29Speaker 13: up the job market before this trouble turns into something worse,
- 34:33Speaker 13: and they're signally this concern in their new statement that
- 34:36Speaker 13: they just put out by inserting some new language that
- 34:38Speaker 13: I'll read to you now. FED officials say that job
- 34:41Speaker 13: gains have slowed and the unemployment rate has edged up
- 34:45Speaker 13: but remains low. Fed officials also say that they have
- 34:50Speaker 13: judged that downside risks to employment have risen now. At
- 34:55Speaker 13: the same time, this statement also says that inflation has
- 34:59Speaker 13: moved up up and remains somewhat elevated, which just gets
- 35:03Speaker 13: at this really difficult situation facing the FED where they're
- 35:06Speaker 13: really trying to fight a two front war, right, They're
- 35:09Speaker 13: trying to fix the job market, and they're trying to
- 35:12Speaker 13: defeat inflation at the same time. It is really difficult.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Now.
- 35:15Speaker 13: As far as the voting here, this was actually almost unanimous.
- 35:19Speaker 13: It was an eleven to one vote, with Fedschair Jerome
- 35:22Speaker 13: Powell joined by ten of his colleagues, including FED Governor
- 35:27Speaker 13: Lisa Cook, who the President has tried to fire. The
- 35:30Speaker 13: one the center is the Federal Reserve's newest member. That's
- 35:34Speaker 13: Stephen Myron, the Trump loyalist and White House economists. Not surprisingly,
- 35:39Speaker 13: he was in favor of a bigger cut of half
- 35:42Speaker 13: of a percentage point. Now, looking forward, the key change
- 35:46Speaker 13: with the Fed's projections is they're now penciling in a
- 35:50Speaker 13: total of three interest rate cuts this year. Today's and
- 35:54Speaker 13: two more quarter point cuts. Now that's a shift from June,
- 35:57Speaker 13: when Fed officials had previously just pencil in two interest
- 36:01Speaker 13: rate cuts. Now, what does all this mean to everyone
- 36:04Speaker 13: at home? Well, the fact that rates.
- 36:06Speaker 5: Have come down.
- 36:06Speaker 13: That could be helpful for people who have credit card
- 36:09Speaker 13: debt and people of floating rate debt like home equity
- 36:12Speaker 13: lines of credit. But we should be clear, this is
- 36:15Speaker 13: not a silver bullet that's going to fix the economy.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Interest rates do remain high.
- 36:20Speaker 13: The Fed spiked interest rates three years ago to try
- 36:23Speaker 13: to fight inflation. That amounts it to slamming the brakes
- 36:27Speaker 13: on the economy.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Now they're not.
- 36:29Speaker 13: Going pedal to the metal and hitting the gas. They're
- 36:31Speaker 13: sort of gradually taking their foot off the break now
- 36:35Speaker 13: later this hour, fed shir Drum Powell, he's gonna take questions.
- 36:38Speaker 13: I'm interested to hear what he's going to say about
- 36:40Speaker 13: all of the pressure, the political pressure from the White
- 36:43Speaker 13: House on federals of officials, and how many more interest
- 36:47Speaker 13: rates he expects to have in the coming months.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Beck Toy Brian, I love how they're like, well, this
- 36:53Speaker 1: could be good for Americans.
- 36:55Speaker 2: This is going to be massive, by the way, for Americans.
- 36:57Speaker 1: And this is exactly what the President has been advocate
- 37:00Speaker 1: heading for, saying that we need to move this in
- 37:02Speaker 1: the right direction. We also know from what was said
- 37:05Speaker 1: by Powell that you can expect that there is a
- 37:07Speaker 1: very good chance that more cuts could be coming on
- 37:11Speaker 1: the regular. So is this a victory for all Americans?
- 37:16Speaker 2: Yes?
- 37:17Speaker 1: Is this the big victory for the fact that Jerome
- 37:19Speaker 1: Powell said it the way that he described it, Yes,
- 37:23Speaker 1: is it something that we should all celebrate.
- 37:24Speaker 2: You better believe it. Jerome Powell in his own words.
- 37:29Speaker 14: Under what circumstances would a larger than twenty five basis
- 37:32Speaker 14: points rate cup be warranted?
- 37:34Speaker 4: And how seriously was that option entertained at your meeting
- 37:37Speaker 4: this week? There wasn't widespread support at all for a
- 37:41Speaker 4: fifty basis point cut today. You know, I think we've
- 37:44Speaker 4: done We've done very large rate hikes and very large
- 37:47Speaker 4: rate cuts in the last five years. And you tend
- 37:50Speaker 4: to do those at a time when you feel that
- 37:53Speaker 4: policy is out of place and needs to move quickly
- 37:57Speaker 4: to a new place. That's not at all what I
- 37:59Speaker 4: feel certainly now. I feel like our policy has been
- 38:02Speaker 4: doing the right thing so far this year. I think
- 38:04Speaker 4: we were right to wait and see how tariffs and
