Transcript
- 0:01Hi there my teacher friends. Congratulations, you've made it
- 0:05through another term and this is your time, your well deserved
- 0:10break. Today we're going to take a few
- 0:13minutes to reset, release and recharge.
- 0:18No schedules, no lessons, no emails.
- 0:22Just you, your breath and the calm that you have earned.
- 0:28I want you to find a quiet space.
- 0:30Sit or lie down comfortably and let your hands rest loosely.
- 0:36Close your eyes if that feels safe for you.
- 0:39Now take a deep breath in and slowly let it out again.
- 0:49Inhale, hold it for a moment, and then exhale fully.
- 0:58With each breath, feel your shoulders soften, feel your jaw
- 1:03unclench, and feel your hands and arms relax.
- 1:10Imagine a gentle wave of calm starting at the top of your
- 1:14head, slowly flowing down over your face, your neck, your
- 1:21shoulders. With each exhale, let go of the
- 1:26tension. Let go of any lingering stress
- 1:29from the term. Visualise your mind like a
- 1:33chalkboard. Any worries, lesson plans,
- 1:38emails or to do lists, gently erase them.
- 1:44Watch them fade away. This is your time to rest.
- 1:51Now imagine yourself in a peaceful place.
- 1:57Maybe it's a quiet beach, a sunlit forest, or even your cosy
- 2:02living room. Anywhere that makes you feel
- 2:06safe and calm. Notice the small details, the
- 2:12sound around you, the smells, the colours.
- 2:19Feel yourself sinking into this moment, here in this space.
- 2:24You are not a teacher. You are not a planner, a marker
- 2:29or a behaviour therapist. You are simply you.
- 2:33If those thoughts creep in, maybe a student question, a
- 2:37parent email or a chore, gently acknowledge it and then return
- 2:43to your breath. In, out, in, out.
- 2:54This is your reset. Now bring your attention slowly
- 3:00down through your body, through your head, your neck, your
- 3:06shoulders, your arms, your chest, your stomach, your hips,
- 3:15your legs and feet. With each part, notice any
- 3:22tension and send it with warmth and softness and kindness.
- 3:28Say it silently to yourself. I am allowed to rest.
- 3:34I am allowed to recharge. I am enough.
- 3:40Repeat this a few times, letting each word sink in.
- 3:47I am allowed to rest, I'm allowed to recharge.
- 3:53I am enough. As we continue to the end of
- 3:59this meditation, I want you to take a few more deep breaths.
- 4:05Full belly breaths, in and out. Your gratitude for yourself, for
- 4:17your effort, your patience, and your dedication this term.
- 4:23Know that the holidays are your time to replenish.
- 4:27You've done the work, now let your mind and body soak in this
- 4:31calm. When you're ready, gently wiggle
- 4:36your fingers and toes, stretch if that feels good, and open
- 4:41your eyes. Carry this calm with you and
- 4:45remember that you can return to this reset anytime you need
- 4:49because self care isn't optional, it's essential.
- 4:55Release what you cannot control, Embrace rest, replenish
- 5:01yourself, and get ready to return with energy, joy and
- 5:07calm.
